Stayed here in August for 3 nights. The hotel is in an amazing location. Just on the hill in Biscarrosse overlooking the sea. Lots of things to do in the local area. The rooms were ok, clean and modern but every afternoon once the kitchen started up, the air conditioning would kick out a smell of fish into the room which was most unpleasant. There is a nice small pool. The staff were friendly except for the manager who we had a very unpleasant dealing with. We were having our own lunch outside our room (admittedly this was a mistake to do looking back) and the manager came over and was so rude to our group, it really ruined the last day and a half we spent there. There was no need to be so rude, a simple "I'm sorry but you can't eat your own food here" would have been fine but he went so over the top. We had kids with us and the restaurant food was not right for kids (and overpriced), but there is no reason to be rude infront of them. If that is how you treat your guests then you must not want any more to come.

The location of the hotel is excellent. We watched the ocean waves from the room window, enjoyed its power. The receptionist worked competently and politely.

Always a pleasure, we have returned for the 4th time now and it's always a wow moment, excellent service, fantastic location and a ocean to dream off.

This 4 star hotel had its problems. Due to cliff erosion most of the outside spaces were restricted. The beach below inaccessible. Some of the staff had a poor attitude in the way they addressed this problem. The restaurant and bar was closed for the first 2 days of our visit, and although very inconvenient no compensation was made. However the room was beautifully appointed and extremely clean and the room servicing team were very efficient, pleasant and thorough.

Situated on top of the dune this hotel offers a great view on the Atlantic ocean. We had a room with a terrasse and enjoyed that look a lot. Good beds, room quite good. Breakfast is ok, but not extraordinary for the price. Service at the bar in the evening is really lame, there were 4 other tables occupied, two guys (not) serving didn't get two drinks on the table within half an hour. We didn't have lunch or dinner there as there are several beach restaurants only minutes walks away, which we prefer to hotel meals. You pay for the gorgeous view, the rest of the hotel is ok, but without the view it would be too expensive for what you get.

I had to cancel my room reservation at this hotel, because they refused to accommodate my diet wishes. As I understood, they’re a south-western French restaurant with no ambition of serving anything else. At some point, they stopped answering my questions. If you’re a vegan/vegetarian person, or simply value costumer service and inclusion, you may wanna skip this place.

Fabulous setting. Clean room. Small but cleverly designed to fit everything you need. The terrace was a bonus. Comfortable loungers and a sunshade. The restaurant was totally disappointing as it served the same limited menu everyday and was over priced. The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good although the food on the hot plates was cold. It is the setting that saves this hotel. Direct access to the beach and sea view. I enjoyed sleeping with the window open listening to the sound of the waves. I think this is a very expensive hotel.

We had the burger calzone, one of the best pizzas I have had. And also friendly service, and a beer while you wait.

I came to this store to buy a multi sockets adapter for EU plugs. Went back home then found all the sockets cannot accept the eu plugs. Tried to exchange it at the store the next day, it was rejected and refused to accept this to be returned. It is ridiculous for such a store to sell a malfunction item to customers and denial any exchange for defective goods sold. If I can rate then with minus 5, I'm not hesitate to do so.

Great rooms with generous space, a view over the lake and good parking. The evening concierge was very pleasant in checking us in. This was the complete opposite with the morning breakfast and reception staff who were both curt and offensive in reacting to us and our dogs who only needed shelter from the intense heat in an air-conditioned and empty breakfast room. We had to eat our paid-for breakfast outside. This is not unusual but it was hitting 38°C outside. Breakfast was not bad though with plenty of choices.

Stayed there recently because the price was quite good. The receptionist was great and gave us an upgrade to a bigger apartment with 2 bedrooms. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. She told us the hotel was being refurbished and we saw work being carried out on a wing of the hotel. However, it’s supposed to be Non-Smoking but our living room curtains stank of cigarettes and we could smell cigarette smoke when we saw people smoking on their balconies with the doors open. The policy on the doors state: If occupants are in the rooms for 30 days or more and the walls become yellow stained from cigarettes then the occupants will be charged for repainting. It’s against EU LAW now to smoke in hotels so the staff should be rigorous in policing this ! The apartment really was getting old and in need of renewal. The bathroom tile grouting was blackened and the basin surround was falling apart. THE SHOWER CURTAIN WAS DISGUSTING and one of the windows would not lock.HOWEVER, the rooms were comfortable and reasonably priced. There were individual heaters in the rooms and the beds were comfortable.

Refurbished room with its own tiny kitchen and bathroom and view to the lake. Room itself was very clean and had a nice view, comfortable bed and good blinders. However there was lack of service, toilet paper was missing, had to ask at a reception, they did apologize for inconvenience. Later we took a shower and realised that shower gel , hand soap was empty, it was too late at night to ask for it , since reception is only open until 7pm. Kitchen was missing dish soap, everytime we walked through it , we had to look at the dirty dishes. Luckily we only stayed for one night.

I stayed 2 nights there. The location is quite good, not far from Arcachon and access by car is easy. The room was big enough and offering a nice view over the lake. The kitchen is well equipped (though we had to clean the kitchenware as it was dirty). Amenities and furniture are a bit old. Rooms are still equipped with electric heaters. Lack of electricity plugs. The bay window lock of the terrace balcony was broken. I noticed it to the reception but when we came back, nothing was fixed or nobody said anything back about it (just wondering in terms of security). The place is quite but the soundproof is not good. We were there in low season so there were not many clients but we could actually clearly hear what the guests next door were saying. Overall I am satisfied by the stay but I also do think the place needs to be refurbished. I would not recommend to stay more than 2 or 3 nights.

This hotel is dog friendly , we got a room with balcon, my dog loves it. And there’s fresh air and a lake behind the hotel. Free parking space. Big inconvenience: no hair drier in the room.

This was a very bad experience. In a big Pandemic situation, as we are, the room was not clean at all. We found hairs from the previous guests in our beds. Same thing on the dishes and bathroom floor. The overall cleaning was horrible. The balcony was a complete mess. Same as the kitchen. When we went to the reception to complain, there were at least 5 more people complaining about similar situations. When we talked to the reception they were rude and not helpful. They actually gave us the sheets and said to change them ourselves. After a few heated exchanges, they finally accepted to do it themselves. When we shared the room was not clean at all, they said they would send someone but they never did. They are not respecting the social distances, there is no alcohol to clean the hands in 2/3 entrances and the cleaning personnel was not wearing the masks. We took pictures of all of these points since we have never seen anything like this. I don't recommend it at all. Horrible experience

Floors were sticky, dusty, filled with hair. Pans provided had residue from god knows when. There was NO AIR-CONDITIONING/FAN available, and i had to keep my window open just for some ventilation (imagine a 30 degrees summer period i'm facing). WIFI, housekeeping and the concierge were non-existent. Worst of all, did not get a room with a balcony or a lake view, even though i specifically booked a bigger room with a balcony and a lake view at a higher price. My room was situated at the corner of the building, and it was facing east. All i could see from my room was a huge tree right in front of me, the lake was nowhere in sight. Insects were entering my room freely as i had to keep my windows open for ventilation. However, when i went down immediately after i checked my room and queried the staff on my room (by showing them my booking confirmation), all they said was "Oh its too bad we are fully booked, we cannot do anything." And when i asked about the "lake view", they said "Oh we consider that room a lake view since its by the lake." Utterly disappointed, and to think that i had to stay 15 nights in that room, having paid such a high price for it, i was in disbelief, and felt totally cheated. And the fact that the staff were rude and not showing any empathy at all, it showed unprofessionalism for the hotel as a whole. They were laughing and speaking french among themselves when i confronted them, and they did not even try to shift me to a better room, and expected me to put up with it for my 15 nights just because i was "unlucky". They also said quote "If you are unhappy, just shorten your stay here and look somewhere else." Overall, had the worst experience from a "hotel" stay ever in my life. The other good things are the location, and the kitchenette provided. But seriously, if you guys are coming to France and chance upon this review of this particular hotel, i urge you to think twice before booking it. I suggest that you do not take that risk. PS: I wanted to shift to another hotel but i had no choice, all other hotels were fully booked throughout the duration of my stay.

We stayed here for a week in August 2023. The people on the front desk are helpful and keen to help. The apartment rooms are of a good standard and the kitchens are well kitted out. The beach is very close and there is a nearby supermarket. The layout of Arcachon is set up for tourism and relaxing. There are a huge number of restaurants, but not so good for vegetarian diets. The main drawback with this hotel is noise from the market stalls being set up. Apart from that, most people would enjoy this location.

Really like it. This time we are at the backside. The only thing is the windows could be cleaner. Some little details can be cleaner. And if there is a little place for hanging the jacket and bags near the entrance would be even better.

The name has now changed to Best Western - Arcachon Port. That confused me at first. I booked a last minute, quick trip to Arcachon because I was missing the beach. This place is such a great value, I found a low price and booked. Because of the price, I was nervous, but I had no need to be. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I think I was upgraded to a slightly larger room so size wasn’t an issue for me. I was on the ground floor so a bit nervous about facing the parking lot, the curtains were a bit thin. But they have blackout blinds so I closed those and felt so much better. Staff was all very friendly and they spoke English (I can speak some French but it was nice). The rooftop view is pretty. The location - it’s about 7-10 minutes from the train station on foot, and the walk is pleasant. It’s in a very quiet residential area with beautiful houses. I don’t mind walking, and found it easy to get to the beach - about 10 minutes or so, there’s a cute little boardwalk. Maybe 15 minutes or so to the city center, the pier, even more restaurants, etc. I didn’t try the breakfast to comment on it.

Allow not in town centre it is very close to the marina and the start of the board walk along the beach. Recently refurbish room was very clean and well decorated. Also had a small built in kitchen unit. Solarium on roof has great views over marina and the town. Great spot for a glass of wine and baguette.

We visited for 2 nights, June 9th and 10th. Everything was excellent in the hotel, we couldn’t find anything that could score less. The receptionist on our arrival in the afternoon was welcoming, kind and very helpful. The young man looking after the breakfast area, keeps in spotless, clearing and cleaning the areas freed almost like by magic, he kept all breakfast items stocked up and perfectly arranged. The breakfast itself very good, the best we have had in our six stops in France, there was bacon, sausages and perfectly scrambled eggs as well as continental offering. The room was comfortable, great night sleep. Excellent shower. Ironing board, iron, kettle and tea facilities….I don’t know if I will be in this area again, if I do, I definitely will stay at the Holiday Inn.

There is zero privacy in this room, it has a terrace with neigbhours so closed to each other sitting on the deck chairs just outside the room. However, the room of our teenagers were great. Very nice hotel excellently situated. Well equipped room with a balcony (shared) overlooking the sea. All the reception staff were efficient and friendly and spoke good English. The hotel has it's own underground car park (16 euro per day). It is not easy to find among the one way streets as you have to ignore a no entry sign. (This is permitted). Would recommend .

We only stayed here for one night, wished it was longer! The room was spacious and clean, I enjoyed the modern style of décor. The staff are all excellent and they fixed us a platter of cheese to go with a bottle of wine (excellent quality, fair price). Breakfast is 👌, I don't usually spend money on having breakfast at hotels but this is worth it. Mostly cold items but you do get to make your own boiled egg.
