Restaurant
Nestled just across from the beach, O! Hamos! Tavern is a charming family-run establishment that has been delighting visitors since 1993. Relocated to its current leafy garden setting in 2002, this taverna offers a unique dining experience steeped in tradition. The recipes are lovingly passed down from the owners' grandparents, and diners often leave notes of appreciation on the chairs.
What an amazing experience! We arrived at O! Hamos! around 7:30 pm, put our name on the list, and enjoyed the wait across the street lounging on the sunbeds by the beach, such a perfect way to pass 30 minutes. The ambiance of the restaurant is incredible, lush greenery, handwritten menus in different languages, and such a cozy, homey feel. We loved reading about the restaurant’s journey, it really added a personal touch. Staff were very friendly and service was quick. The food was traditional, hearty, and absolutely delicious! The “Married Chickpeas” were a standout, it was soft, rich, and packed with flavor from the stew. The baked lamb in parchment paper and slow-cooked piglet were both melt-in-your-mouth tender and so full of depth. This is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re truly experiencing Greece. Highly recommended!

Along with Archontoula this is as traditional as it gets. The food is absolutely amazing. The barrel wine is phenomenal. I can't say enough good things. There may be a wait but it is well worth it. Get the Chick Peas and the Γουρούνοπουλο and thank me later. Beautiful setting but would be equally worth the visit if it was on a mountain. Wonderful experience.

Don’t miss this place if you’re in Milos. One of the most authentic spots on the island with real traditional food and great local vibes. The menu comes in a handwritten notebook and everything is made with local ingredients from their own farm. Try the melitzanokeftedes and the gourounopoulo, both are amazing. They also have a nice variety of Greek craft beers. Go a bit early because it gets really busy, but it’s worth the wait. Real Greek food and real people.
Mario E — Google review
The cheese tarts are delicious, the fried cheese looks better than it tastes and the smoothie was alright. The place is cute but there was a lot of people. We had to get up and grab our server to get the bill after waiting for 20 minutes after he came to take our empty plates. It was also a bit expensive.
Raphaël R — Google review
We went to O! Hamos to have our farewell lunch before leaving Milos. Although there was a waiting time, hostess managed to organize a window table for us almost instantly. Piglet and fried artichokes were delicious. Orange cake straightaway went on the top of our list of favorite desserts All staff was so friendly and welcoming specially the hostess who was so charming and lovely. She made our whole experience unforgettable. Love Alex&Taya
Alessandro R — Google review
What an amazing place. Everything was perfect - from food to the ambiance, clay dishes, handwritten menu with the restaurant history, spectacular view... We had the piglet and spicy baked cheese with some olives and orange pie. They also have great house wine. Excellent presentation overall.
Ika — Google review
Very good food. All dishes were very nice, especially the chickpeas and the salad. Zucchini balls didn't have a lot of flavour and the goat was probably a little over done. On the whole an enjoyable meal. Happy to recommend O!Hamos! Tavern.

Traditional taverns with history. Tasty authentic dishes. The chick pea with turmeric & cumin spices was tasty. The fried artichokes with egg cheese nice traditional dish as was the home made chicken mince grilled burgers a must visit but go at 6.10pm to secure a table

Medusa is a charming ouzerie located in the picturesque fishing village of Mandrakia on the north coast of Milos. With stunning views of the Aegean Sea, this restaurant offers a leisurely dining experience with a focus on mezze and local ouzo. The menu features must-try dishes such as smoked sun-dried mackerel, Milos cheese pie, grilled sardines, and zucchini balls.
We came for a late lunch in late September, no wait, and landed a great table. The views and atmosphere alone are worth it. The food is fresh, tasty, and unfussy—simple cooking full of flavor. Nothing fancy, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want: good food with a beautiful view. Definitely worth a visit.
Chiara B — Google review
Service by Alex was excellent and very attentive. The food was a bit too salty, and unfortunately there was no fish of the day available, which was disappointing. However, the location is beautiful - right on the beach with the moonlight facing you, making for a lovely atmosphere.
Myriam — Google review
Service was great! Went at noon and got seated right away. Swordfish is a must! My octopus was OK, expected a little better in the quality of the octopus. The view and the ambiance is unbelievable! 5 out of 5 in atmosphere!
Sonia M — Google review
Nice place by the sea with a great view and fresh seafood. The setup is simple but feels authentic. The octopus and fried fish were really good, and the service was friendly even when busy. It can get a bit crowded, so better to go early. Overall, a solid 4-star place — good food, nice atmosphere, and worth a visit when in Mandrakia.
Mario E — Google review
A nice quaint restaurant with beautiful views over looking an old fishing village. Food was good except the fried Kalamari. The kalamari was drenched in oil and was not to enjoyable. I recommend getting to this resturant by Taxi, Car or ATV it's quite a long way down.

A wonderful dinner with a beautiful setting. We ate out on the deck to enjoy our lovely meal. Server and host were welcoming and made us feel like family walking in. We enjoyed everything got for dinner including the sun dried octopus and meatballs. Amazing spot for a scenic dinner.

Best spot for lunch under a sunny day. Strongly recommend you to bring all sunshine protection you have if you want to sit outdoor near the sea view. Food:4.5⭐️ 5⭐️ Fried Calamari - super fresh and the most satisfying seafood we had in Milos 5 ⭐️ Fried cheese - crispy 4.5⭐️: Dried octopus was rather tender with stronger flavours than fresh octopus 3⭐️: Swordfish tasted and looked like chicken. We don’t fancy about the rice at the side at all Staff 5⭐️: friendly and speedy response Atmosphere 5⭐️: outdoor area is not fully shaded but the view is excellent and highly enjoyable. But some customers did change to shaded area from the nicest sea view spot as it was too hot and strong sunshine.
Minions — Google review
After visiting the fisherman houses we stopped by the famous Medusa for lunch, we were early enough to get a table straight away. We tried both the sun-dried and vinegar octopus. The sun-dried octopus was a little tough and didn’t have a lot of flavor. We liked the vinegar octopus much better. We also had a Greek salad. Noting noteworthy about the salad. Service was ok, but a bit snooty. The views are of course amazing!

Restaurant
Astakas Cafe Restaurant is located in the traditional fishing village of Klima, accessible via winding roads from Trypiti. The owner, Nikolas, serves fresh seafood brought in by local fishermen up to three times a day. The restaurant offers a picturesque setting with white tables near the water and colorful fisherman's cottages as a backdrop. While famous for its pricey lobster spaghetti, Astakas also offers authentic Greek island cuisine featuring fish, seafood, and vegetables.
We had dinner at Astakas Café Restaurant in Milos, and it was a lovely experience. The food and service were both very good, and the view from the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous — especially at sunset. Prices were fair for the quality and overall experience. I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Milos.
Murillo P — Google review
Astakas is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner with an incredible sunset view – definitely go at dinner time to enjoy it fully. The restaurant itself is very good, with a nice selection of dishes. We ordered the mussels (very nice), the prawn pasta (also tasty), and a fresh fish from the daily list, which was excellent. Overall, a lovely dining experience in one of the best sunset locations in Milos. Highly recommended for a special evening.
Dimos A — Google review
The setting is stunning right by the water. The food was also very good but unfortunately the service was bad. I’d still recommend based on the setting. It was very quiet when we arrived (only a couple of tables sat) we were told all the tables by the water were reserved which would be fine but most of them remained empty after we left. The service was slow to begin with, it was very slow to get our starters and only one of the two arrived, after a notable time I spoke to one of the waiters and was told that the Eel I ordered was not actually available that day so the original waiter took the order but somehow the kitchen or anyone else didn’t query it. I was asked if I wanted something else instead by my original waiter but the issue didn’t seem to be taken very seriously and not so much as a sincere apology. The mains then arrived moments later before my partner had finished her starter and before I had even been brought mine. Again trying to get anyone’s attention for the bill took a long time. The stuffed squid starter was excellent, would recommend. The anchovy starter was fine. Breaded fish main was excellent, highly recommend. The tomahawk pork steak was very dry throughout. This was a bit of a let down as we had made the trip especially for dinner. Good for gluten free.
Sean L — Google review
We were staying near by and had a wonderful lunch by the water. The view was beautiful and the food was even better. The stuffed squid and eggplant dip were good. The risotto with squid and octopus was amazing and creamy. Great for a fancy lunch, sunset dinner, or just a few drinks while visiting Klima.
Erica E — Google review
Beautiful place for dinner at sunset! It gets crowded so come early or make a reservation. We were told there would be an hour wait but it ended up being 30 minutes. We tried the grilled squid, sea bass, and shrimp pasta and all were delicious. The sweet kitties wandering around were a great bonus.
Catherine M — Google review
Outstanding Greek Seafood restaurant right on the beachfront at Klima, Milos. We stayed 3 nights in Klima and also dined 3 nights at Astakas Restaurant because the food was so delicious the first night and the ambience unbeatable with excellent attentive service. One waiter remembered us each night and looked after us so well, even recommending where we can buy koufeto, ( white pumpkin and almond dessert/jam) which features in one of Astakas desserts. Book ahead otherwise you may need to wait a while for a table. Highly recommended their house white whine ‘ Pirigo’, sea bass with greens, shrimp, bream baked in paper, baked vegetables and their yoghurt mousse dessert with koufeto. Lots of gluten free options. Highly recommend for local Milos authentic seafood!
Sally B — Google review
We had dinner here and watched the sunset. You can’t ask for a more picturesque setting. The colorful fishing village is charming and the tables are right next to the water. If you want a table in the front way along the sea wall, you’ll need a reservation. The service and food were amazing too. I tried the grilled octopus, because, why not, and it was great! The shrimp were huge and delicious too.
Colli L — Google review
Must go to restaurant if you come to Milos. So good, i had to come twice during my trip. The food is amazing. Steamed mussels, grilled squid, grilled shrimp, grilled octopus. And quality wine at a good price. I recommend Reservations a few weeks ahead of time. Nicolas and Alex provided 5 star service and gave good recommendations.

The best restaurant in Milos HANDS DOWN. The food was out of this world fresh. Knowledgeable staff gave the best suggestions for your meal at Mikros and activities on the island. Please go here every day on your trip to Milos and tip these gentlemen/women generously!!!! Get the apoplous cocktail or a masthica spritz for a good time :) 😍

I would say that the the tastes are overratted and it's not value for money. We got 5 dishes plus ouzo and we paid 100€ without leaving a beautiful memory behind taste-wise. The atmosphere is perfect as you sit next to the sea and the stuff is polite always there with smile and kindness. The toilets do not smell well but its OK. Overall I would visit it again. Too gourmet OK, expensive dishes OK, no memorable taste NOT OK.
Nick M — Google review
A local recommended me this place and I must say this is the best resto in Milos - I went back twice! The service was really good and friendly! My favourites are their cocktail (some spicy one that they recommended), fried calamari (so fresh and had the right amount of chew), spring roll (just wow). Seafood pasta and linguine with shrimps both had fresh seafood as well, but would be better if they use handmade pasta! Coffee was not bad too. They also have a complimentary lemon dessert at the end.
K — Google review
This place is amazing! The service was awesome and the food was fantastic! This was our favorite restaurant on the island and our favorite of the entire Greece trip! The fresh fish ceviche was so good and the flavors were amazing. The fresh fish ceviche was so good and the citrus flavors were perfect. Over the few nights we ate there we had the fresh red fish and it was cooked to perfection and seeing them serve it table side and boning it was great. He did a great job. We also got the mussels and they were so good. The cream chicken dish was very good as well. Every dish we ordered exceeded our expectations. We were a party of 4 and we're always seated pretty quickly. The service was great and we also had wines or cocktails and they were just as good. We sat outside by the docks and enjoyed the wonderful evening views. The prices are very fair for the amount and quality of the food. We would highly recommend and will be back when we visit again!
Teresa B — Google review
Best food we had on the island, everything was great! Although pretty expensive it is most definitely worth it. Views of the beach were amazing. We had a reservation but if you don’t you will most likely have to be put on a waiting list. Service was fast, but the (perhaps) restaurant manager was extremely rude to the staff, constantly cursing them out and ruining the atmosphere.
Romanos V — Google review
Some dishes were enjoyable — the fried anchovies and cod were both nicely done. The octopus was a bit disappointing, and the sauce for the zucchini fritters wasn’t quite the right match; I think tzatziki would have complemented them better. Overall, a decent meal with room for improvement.
Jono K — Google review
Where do can I begin. The taste of ocean explodes in your mouth, the fish is so fresh, by the blue ocean. George Alexander was great! We had a brilliant time will return!
Michelle L — Google review
This is my favorite restaurant on the island! I’ve been here several times this summer, and every single time the food has been delicious and the service exceptional. I’ve tried a variety of dishes – grilled squid, fresh fish, fried calamari, zucchini balls, risotto – and everything was absolutely tasty. If you are a group of friends, make sure to ask about the catch of the day and order it to share… simply amazing! And they give us free desert :)

Nostos Seafood Experience is a popular restaurant on the island of Milos that offers beautiful views across the Aegean Sea and delicious Greek cuisine. The wine list is extensive, making it ideal for tourists who want to enjoy some of Greece's best wines while they dine.
Absolutely stunning location by the sea! We visited just before sunset and the atmosphere was magical — calm waves, golden light, and a gentle breeze. The food was fresh and beautifully presented, rooted in Greek gastronomy and authentic local flavours. The staff was friendly and attentive. A perfect spot for a relaxing, elegant meal by the sea. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!
Georgia E — Google review
We recently dined at Nostos, a sea-side restaurant that boasts a stunning location and glowing reviews. With such a promising setting, we arrived with high expectations—but sadly, the experience didn’t live up to the hype. The menu and pricing suggest a fine dining experience, but the quality of the food fell short. The grilled calamari, for example, was an odd mix of grilled and fried pieces—lacking the clean, smoky flavor that makes properly grilled seafood shine. The presentation and execution felt more akin to a casual takeaway than a refined coastal eatery. Portions were noticeably small, which might be forgivable if the dishes delivered on flavor—but they didn’t. The chicken breast was especially disappointing: bland, dry, and tasting faintly of boiled spinach water. The cheese spread, advertised as a Greek selection, was closer in quality to a supermarket variety pack than anything artisanal or thoughtfully sourced. To be fair, the service was genuinely lovely—attentive, polite, and welcoming—and the location is undeniably beautiful. However, these positives don’t make up for food that is overpriced and underwhelming. In the end, Nostos feels like a textbook tourist trap: appealing from the outside, but lacking depth where it matters most. If you’re seeking authentic, high-quality Greek cuisine, you’d be far better off walking just a kilometre further. There, you’ll likely find a local taverna serving generous, flavorful dishes that live up to both their price and their promise.

Fantastic! One of the two best meals we had in Greece! My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic salad and shared a grilled grouper fillet. Service was excellent. The staff even showed us the fresh local fish selection inside where we could choose which one we wanted cooked. Beautiful location on the water!

It was an incredible experience. I can say it was the best meal we had on the island. Service and flavors were top-notch in every way. The ambiance was also wonderful. Definitely a place you should try while on the island.
Gizem K — Google review
We loved it here! It was recommended to us by our Airbnb host and we are so glad we decided to try it. Great service and delicious food. The calamari cacio pepe and prawn pasta were our choices after reading a few reviews and WOW, the best. The calamari was different than anything we’ve ever had. It looks like it’s a piece of fried calamari on pasta but it’s actually half of the calamari cut in pasta like strips in the sauce. Delicious!! The prawn pasta had great flavor and the prawns were huge. If we were in Milos longer we would definitely be back!

Traveling all the way from San Francisco, I had the privilege of indulging in an unforgettable culinary journey at Nostos Seafood Experience and Mangata Milos , masterfully crafted by Chef Lefteris Zafeiropoulos. Every dish was a symphony of flavors, presentation, and delight, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. The flawless service, warm hospitality, and picturesque ambiance of Mangata Milos and Nostos Seafood restaurants created a truly immersive experience. With heartfelt gratitude, I thank Executive Chef Lefteris Zafeiropoulos, Head Chef Kostas, and the entire service team for making this a truly unforgettable memory.

A pleasant meal however for the cost we were expecting better. We ordered the split pea dip with bread which was probably the favourite. The octopus lacked flavour and the prawn pasta had an odd flavouring. And for the price 4 prawns wasn't really enough. The sea urchin pasta was tasty but was a very small main. The service was professional and the setting was nice.

Yialos Restaurant Milos is a Mediterranean dining spot that offers a gourmet approach to delicious dishes and crisp salads, complemented by an extensive wine selection. The menu features specialties like open sandwich with black pork and octopus, dusky groper carpaccio, shrimp tartar, sea urchin soup pasta, and couscous.
This restaurant came highly recommended by the local people on the island and I can see why! Everything from the food to the service to the table right next to the water was amazing. A couple of standouts for me: the fried feta cheese with honey drizzled all over, and the fish fillet with shrimp and the feta cream mousse. It was an amazing set of flavors. Had I tried this my first day, I probably would have been back a second time, so don't miss out!

Recommended to us by the owner Koufiakas Boathouse, this place was wonderful to eat at. There was a small wait as the places was quite full but once we got seated the staff were attentive and kind as they could be during a dinner rush. The portion sizes are on the bigger side for the pastas and average-smaller for everything else on their menu. Of all the food that was eaten I can recommend everything but nothing was completely stand out but also nothing was terrible. If you are able to get a good seat by the water or viewing over the water can make your experience so much better like it did with ours. Recommended the vibes are good and the food is decent.

A local recommended this restaurant and I am so glad he did! It will forever be a dinner I will never forget. We had the smoked gnocchi (which is what he specifically recommended) very delicious. I’m not even a huge smoked flavor person but I loved it. We got the meals to share but I could not share my seafood linguine very well it was too good! The pasta alone was unforgettable but of course the fresh seafood was delicious. I also tried the Yialos Spritz and loved that too!! I keep trying to like the aperol spritz and can’t but whatever they do to the yialos spritz is perfect 🤩 What I also loved about this restaurant was one of the owners is out there talking to people which adds to the charm of the restaurant. I don’t normally get desserts at restaurants but because everything was so good here we asked to look at the dessert menu. I was told to try the semifredo lemon pie masticha of Chios. The presentation was beautiful for a dessert dish and of course yummy. ❤️

Amazing tables right by the sea — perfect spot to enjoy your meal with a view. The tuna tartare was really good, and the soupia me melani was just amazing. Midia also top. Greek salad should come with proper feta, not cheese, but still tasty overall. Bread could be better, but the staff were super kind and friendly. Nice atmosphere and great food — definitely worth a visit.

Greek cuisine beyond the classic mom and pop bodegas but sill keeping the local vibe. Excellent fish and seafood, partly with nouvelle cuisine spin (graved mackerel). Very friendly and attentive staff. Strong recommendation

Amazing atmosphere in the Pollinia harbor. We had a great day in Kimolos, followed by a great dinner at Yialos. We had the Surf and Turf (black pig and octopus), which was great, amazing flavor, highly recommended. We also had the Greek salad, which was good, we liked the change in cheese. And the Gnocci, which looked better than it tasted. The sauce could use more flavor as it tasted like fishy like the seafood in it.
Scott — Google review
Walked down the Pollonia strip and was able to get a table by the ocean with no reservation. We ordered a tzatziki and a cherry tomato and fig salad to start - both were brilliant. The grilled squid was the standout dish, perfect mix of charcoal grill and lemon flavouring. The Saganaki shrimp sauce pasta was extremely fishy and the prawns were overcooked. The dish became a lot better once we mixed in all of the feta foam which masked the fishy sauce taste. The crème brûlée and mousse were both good desserts. Overall this is a romantic dinner spot with decent dishes.

This restaurant has one of the best Greek food in Milos. The grilled calamari is the best we tried in Greece and the pasta was fantastic. You can see the chef cooking inside and everyone looks very professional and friendly. We enjoyed the vibe a lot and the great service. Price is less than average compared to the rest of the island. I highly recommend this restaurant when you visit Milos. It was recommended to us by a local.

Enalion Restaurant, situated in the picturesque village of Pollonia, offers a charming dining experience with tables placed right by the water. The menu focuses on locally caught seafood and features dishes like sea bass, shrimp saganaki, and lobster pasta. The restaurant also prides itself on its selection of Cycladic PDO olives, wine, and cheese. With an intimate ambiance complemented by the soothing sound of waves, Enalion provides a memorable setting for a romantic dinner.
Overall good experience. The tomato salad was divine, perfectly ripe tomatoes, peeled. The shrimp saganaki dish very tasty, recommended. We didn't like the tomato fritters, skip. Excellent orange dessert with ice cream. We were also treated a tasty honey cinnamon drink. Overall excellent.

Nice seaside restaurant in Pollonia. It wasn’t too busy and we were sat right away. Service was great and they had a few kids options which were pasta, it would have been nice if there were a few more options. We had a Greek salad, garbanzo bean salad, calamari and pork tenderloin. Everything was pretty good, the calamari was excellent and very fresh along with the garbanzo bean salad. Nice selection of wine and beer. Prices were a bit high, but well within reason for the location. Overall a nice lunch spot that we would eat at again.

Beautiful taverna run by beautiful people. This is a truly lovely experience everything is grown on their land and cooked in slowly in a beautiful traditional way. It’s a family run taverna and you can feel the love that has gone into it. The food was exceptional and the lovely touch of Greek hospitality is the little sweet they give you at the end.

One of our favourite meals in Milos! Very wholesome and family run atmosphere. The food was incredible. Highly recommend the Dakos, Greek Salad, Fava, Tartar and the Fish Plaki. Everything was delicious and felt like a homemade meal. We loved it!

The boss lady is the heart of the place ,she’s the real boss! We asked her to call us the next day if she had any fresh fish, and she did , she found faggri, and it was the best we’ve had in a long time. Trust her with your order , she knows what’s best. Easily the best spot in Pollonia, mostly because of her!

Sirocco volcanic all day restaurant is a casual dining spot located on Milos' south coast, offering stunning views of Paleochori beach. The owner, Stella Tseroni, utilizes the island's volcanic origins by slow-cooking dishes in geothermal springs next to the tavern. Guests can witness her son digging up their meals. The restaurant is renowned for its unique volcanic dishes, with summer months seeing the use of geothermal energy to cook food, imparting a delightful smoky flavor.
We had a wonderful experience at Sirocco, beautiful views and a great presentation of food. We enjoyed the fish that we chose to be cooked in the volcanic underground method. I would only say that the waiter/server who was doing that could have been more patient and given the kids a chance to watch the prep of the fish better, he basically told and ran to do it and by the time we got there he was about done so we missed the preparation and this shouldn't be the case when you are paying a high price for this experience specifically. Otherwise, the fish was truly cooked to perfection and delicious. All the food was pretty good, the ceviche could have been seasoned a bit better, it was almost bland. But the rest of the food was delicious.

the food was deliciously amazing. The portions are a good size if you plan to not only have a main dish. We recommend you to get appetizers/entrances. The ambience is a mix of romantic and family/child-friendly. They don’t have many options in the menu, so we would recommend you to make sure you like them before going. The staff were very friendly. We fully recommend you to order the roasted lamb leg.

Probably the best restaurant in Milos. Beautiful setup right by the beach with a calm, relaxed vibe. They even use a special technique to cook some dishes in the sand, which makes it unique. Must try the gavros marinatos, the prawns saganaki with trahana, and the scallops with sausage ,all amazing. Friendly people, great atmosphere, and food that really stands out
Mario E — Google review
Food was spectacular, everything was perfect. Our favorites were the scallop and sausage skewers, the crayfish pasta and the baklava dessert! Right next to the beach the views are amazing, staff was fast and friendly. It is definitely on the expensive side but it totally worth it. Very highly recommend that you visit this restaurant!

Beautiful restaurant on the Beach. We arrived from the marina via taxi in 20 minutes and it was a great drive. There is a shopping boutique on site and an ATM, they accept credit cards but can't split the bill amongst couples. They sat us as soon as we arrived in a table by the beach. The wine choice is great, and the service was impeccable. We ordered the grouper before we arrived and they showed us how they cook it in the sand near a volcanic vein under the beach. It is a very cool process. All the sides and the sales were excellent and the grouper was perfect!

Friendly staff and good food. The services is super fast and sometimes we needed a bit more time to pace ourselves to what was happening . They were able to make a simple Paste for the kids which was really great as they were not too keen on what was on offers. We tried 2 dishes made in the sand - lamb and potatoes and it was really nice

Dining at Sirocco in Milos was one of the most unique and memorable meals we’ve ever had. We went for lunch around 3:45 PM, and it ended up being the perfect early dinner. We didn’t have a reservation, but they seated us right away and made us feel completely welcome from the moment we arrived. Everyone was so friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and inviting. We ordered the red snapper cooked in volcanic sand, and it was more than just a dish—it was an experience. They brought the fresh fish to our table and seasoned it right in front of us, stuffing it with lemon and herbs while explaining every step. Then they walked us down to the beach to bury it in the hot volcanic sand, where it slowly cooked underground. It was such a cool and immersive moment that really made the meal unforgettable. When the fish was finally served, it was hands down the best fish I’ve ever tasted—perfectly flaky, tender, and bursting with flavor. The simplicity of the seasoning let the freshness of the fish shine, and every bite was incredible. If you’re visiting Milos, you absolutely have to come to Sirocco. The food, the setting, the friendliness, and the one-of-a-kind volcanic cooking experience make it so much more than just a restaurant—it’s a highlight of the island.
Brianna S — Google review
A great oceanfront restaurant for lunch or dinner. The cooking of the fish in the volcanic sand is a bit of a gimmick but it is tastefully done and the food comes out really nicely so I think it’s worth doing. The only thing to know is that if you do one of the sand cooked options it may mess with the timing and coursing of your meal because it takes about 45 minutes and they like to drop several at once. Unfortunately we were at the beginning of a wave of orders so when our fish was finally added to the pit we had already received our other courses and the food got cold while we went to watch them bury the fish in the sand (optional to watch but that’s why you do it right?). I wish they did a better job of holding our other courses while we did the demonstration. That being said the food was all very good and they had good gluten free options.

Alevromilos is a charming tavern located halfway between Adamas and Pollonia on the island of Milos. Founded by Vassilis Papakinos in 2001, this restaurant is a tribute to Maleki cuisine, offering traditional dishes with an Italian twist. One of their popular dishes is moussaka with fava instead of the usual bechamel sauce. Visitors can also enjoy cooking classes with Vasilis, who is known for his warm hospitality and culinary expertise.
We were on a girls trip and came to Milos in the off season. On a rainy Monday, we did a cooking class with Chef Vasilis that turned out to be one of our best ever vacation experiences. 3+ hours and 15 dishes. Chef was the best host, and we loved listening to his stories. The food was amazing. We had eaten in the restaurant the night before and shared 3 entrees and two appetizers and everything was amazing. The dishes we made in the cooking class were all different from the menu items we had eaten the night before. If you don’t have time for the cooking class, definitely make time to eat in the restaurant and enjoy the wonderful Mediterranean cuisine. Thank you Chef Vasilis!

Cycladic cuisine at its best! This restaurant is offering evolved cycladic cuisine based on local products and local food tradition. I chose beef for my meal but vegan solutions available as well. They have a big yard and I enjoyed the space between tables and the fact that I didn't feel packed as in other places in the island. Free parking space available. PS. Have a look at the stone mill in the entrance of the restaurant, it's made of stone excavated from the island.

We took the Chef's cooking class and it was really really fun. The dishes were vegetarian, but VERY delicious. Really loved how the Chef's took time with us and never rushed us through. There were 5 of us and it was ALOT of food. But it was soooo good. Definitely something you should do. THANK YOU CHEF VASILIS!!!!

Great Surprise by the Roadside At first, I was a bit unsure since the tavern is located right along the road, but it turned out to be a wonderful surprise! Everything was excellent — the food, the service, and the atmosphere. The dishes were delicious and generously sized, and the wine list was impressive. I’m really glad I gave it a try!

Absolutely amazing service and food. We came back twice during our 3 day stay here because we loved it so much. Waiters were so lovely and generous and gave us free food just because we loved it so much. A must visit for anyone staying in Milos, can’t recommend enough!

Alevromylos is, without a doubt, one of the culinary gems of Milos. This restaurant masterfully blends tradition with modern creativity, offering an unforgettable gastronomic experience. What sets Alevromylos apart is its uncompromising dedication to quality ingredients. Every dish celebrates the finest local produce — from freshly caught seafood to organic vegetables and aromatic herbs — all prepared with great care and imagination. The flavors are clean, authentic, and deeply satisfying, showcasing the best of Cycladic and Greek cuisine with contemporary flair. The wine list is exceptional, thoughtfully curated to highlight well-known Greek vineyards and lesser-known boutique labels. The staff are more than happy to offer recommendations, and their knowledge enhances the overall dining experience. Equally impressive is the flawless service. Warm, attentive, and highly professional, the team at Alevromylos makes you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. Every detail is taken care of with genuine hospitality, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and relaxed. Whether you’re a devoted foodie or a traveler looking to taste the essence of Milos, Alevromylos is an absolute must-visit. It’s not just a meal — it’s a true celebration of the island’s rich culinary heritage.

This is a typical Greek meat taverna where the food is truly excellent. We had both the veal stew and the lamb — they were incredibly tender and full of delicious flavor. Prices are average for the area and the service is very friendly. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic, tasty meat dishes in a warm atmosphere.

Wow, The food is incredible! We ate here yesterday as it was recommended by our host and it happens to be across the street. The menu and caters to those of us with dietary restrictions, one of us is gluten free and one both gluten and dairy sensitive. The food is so good we went back today. Yes, it really IS that good. We’ve had 3 dishes with eggplant these two visits that have just knocked my socks off. Tonight we had a delicious goat dish and an eggplant and beef special that were both succulent and perfectly cooked. New favorite, must experience restaurant. This chef puts love and expertise into their amazing food. Wine was also perfectly paired. A real Greek gem. 10/10

Rifaki is a charming restaurant located near Pollonia beach, offering a delightful selection of light and fresh seafood dishes. Visitors can indulge in cured marinated anchovies, grilled octopus with fava dip, and Greek fried small fish while enjoying the picturesque view. The restaurant's friendly staff and quick service have left patrons impressed. While some recommend the seafood linguine, others suggest trying the traditional Mousakas or Greek potato salad for an authentic taste of Milos.
Delicious! Great food, view, and music. Honeymoon dinner with my wife. They were able to accommodate her onion allergy with a lovely vegetarian dish. I had my first Moussaka and it was amazing. They also gave a yummy complimentary dessert. Strongly recommend that you check this place out.

The place is very aesthetically pleasing with a beautiful view. The food was good, but I found the portion size of the souvlaki a bit small for the price, only one skewer, while most Greek places usually serve two or three. That said, the prices overall are decent and the service was fast.

Best service by a great guy from Thessaloniki — super friendly and knows what to recommend. He suggested some really good dishes and wine. Try the mussels with prawns, they were excellent. We love this market and bakery so much we visited multiple times! Everything was delicious and the owners were so kind. This review is for lactose intolerant people (that can have butter): My husband and I LOVE this place! We first went in one night and the man at the counter maybe couldn’t understand what I was asking and I couldn’t find anything that is lactose intolerant friendly. Then we met Magda the next day who was SUPER understanding and helpful. She really made my trip to Milos so much more memorable and enjoyable. Magda, thank you so much for your caring and understanding attitude as it helped me find desserts that I can enjoy!! Magda took the time to explain to me which ones I could and could not have. This is the best place if you want to buy local traditional products. They have their own farm where they produce honey. They have a great variety of choices and the family that has the place is really nice and they tell you about each product. Also, the lady makes really good traditional sweets. We were absolutely blown away by this place. Absolutely fantastic food, we are tough critics and the flavors had us rolling. We started with the alvi salad - fantastic combination of flavors with the proscutio, cheese and lime balsamic. My husband got the lamb shank and I got the shrimp saganaki with mastia chihos and feta. Absolutely insane. Most tender, delicious shrimp I’ve ever had in my live, so fresh and whatever they did to the sauce was amazing. Creamy, delicious, full of flavor. Literally had me lapping up every bit with bread. Fresh feta was over the moon. My husband loved the lamb shank, it was also fall off the bone tender. We loved this place so much we plan to return tomorrow to try something new during our stay.

AMAZING dinner at Avli in Plaka village. Instantly greeted by friendly staff. We sat outside on the cobble stone street which was very cute and a huge vibe. We ordered Greek salad, 2 x appetisers and 2 x mains. Lots of vegetarian options which was great as I am vegetarian. The homemade chips was insane, best I’ve had on the island. The seared artichokes were unreal. The vegetarian lasagne !!! No words, it was absolutely delicious. The boys ordered the smoked lamb and orzo which they loved. Everything was spot on and you could taste the freshness and care in the dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for some good, nourishing and amazingly tasteful food. Absolutely lovely place and staff! Could not recommend it more, you must go here! We got the lamb, gnocchi and signature cheesecake per others recommendations, all delicious. We were able to make reservation the day of around noon for 2200. They were so kind and attentive, absolutely wonderful ❤️

We ate at Barriello on our last evening in Milos and had a wonderful dining experience. The service was easily the friendliest of all of the restaurants we went to over our 2.5 week honeymoon. The food was unbelievably good. We had the Greek salad, the wild mushroom truffle rigatoni, and the chicken with ravioli - everything was incredible and I wish we had room for dessert after! I also love that the restaurant has its own farm and most of the produce used in the salad and pasta was grown there. The sunset views were also so lovely. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Milos!

Such an amazing restaurant. Firstly the view is sensational. Very hard to beat apart from maybe Oia in Santorini. The staff were very professional and happy to engage with you. We met the owner Takis towards the end of the night and he was such an awesome guy. The food is quite honestly fantastic as well. We had the cheesecake and octopus for our starters and then the gnocchi ragu and chicken for our mains. Unfortunately, we couldn't fit in dessert. I would recommend that you either get their early just after opening at 6pm or you make a reservation as it can get very busy here. Cannot recommend it enough though.

The owner and staff were very attentive (for Europe) and he personally spoke with nearly every table. You can feel his passion for the food and his business! This was our best food experience in Milos! Everything we were looking for, from the great tavern atmosphere to amazing food and fair prices, while drinking and eating amazing local delicacies. The place was crowded but for some reason people queued for the outdoors tables while the one inside was free which we took, as the place looks great and it’s much better than outdoors in our view. There was no cucumber in the tzatziki. It was the first time we encountered something like this among the tzatziki dishes we had here. The grilled octopus wasn’t well cooked, it was tough. Overall, it was an average experience.

Just amazing small plates. Definitely recommend for good food and great vibes. Tried several dishes on menu and it is your local cuisine. My fav was the zucchini balls!

Yankos is a local fast food spot known for its Souvlaki and Gyros, with prices starting at 3.8. It's conveniently located next to a bus stop and offers on-site dining. Visitors have praised the delicious and reasonably priced breakfast options, including classic, vegetarian, and English breakfasts. The staff is friendly and provides great service. The waterfront location adds to the appeal of enjoying yummy food with generous portions at fair prices.
Loved the gyros here! Perfect late-night snack, we grabbed two gyros and a salad to go. There were lots of people waiting, but we quickly understood why after the first bite. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were super kind, and it’s great that they stay open late. Definitely recommend!

Good takeaway gyros shop right in town. big portions and fresh fillings. Their chips are AMAZING. Hand cut and seasoned perfectly. Veggie options include falafel and a vegetable patty gyros. Falafel lacked some flavour but the vegetable patty was great. Reasonable pricing around 5-6€. Service is good. Seating options minimal.

Yankos All Day in Milos serves up quick, tasty Greek food at fair prices, great location near the port and perfect for a casual, satisfying meal. A lively, well-located spot that’s perfect for grabbing a quick Greek bite without sacrificing quality. Food (4/5): We shared the chicken gyros portion, and it was delicious, tender, flavourful, and very generous. Easily enough for two people or one seriously hungry traveller. The menu had plenty of solid Greek options too, all reasonably priced given the prime location. Service (4.5/5): Friendly, fast, and efficient. Food came out quickly even though the place was busy, which always earns points. Atmosphere (4/5): Busy and energetic, right by the port, which makes it a convenient and fun stop. Great for a relaxed lunch or casual dinner before heading off to explore. Overall: Good food, fair prices, and friendly service—exactly what you want from a casual Greek eatery. Rating: 4/5 ⭐️ A reliable go-to for a quick, tasty feed in Milos.

Note there is the Yankos gyros take away place and then an actual Yankos sit down restaurant- we ate at the restaurant and it did not disappoint. We stumbled upon Yankos hungry after a morning boat tour, in a prime location by the port and were quickly seated for a lunch service. We ordered the mixed grill for 2 and were advised it would be a 20 minute wait- a good sign of the freshness of what was to come. After enjoying a cold mythos beer the mixed grill arrived and we couldn’t believe our eyes. The mixed grill was a huge portion with a wide range of different meats, pita, chips, veggies and sauce. The waiter smiled and wished us good luck with finishing the plate. We struggled to finish everything and were very satisfied with the meal. The only thing we would recommend is ordering / asking for more tzatziki as the sauces provided don’t go very far with making your own pita gyros on the plate. Would recommend visiting for an authentic Greek restaurant that serves the classics in a perfect location.

Went here twice during our stay and were not disappointed either time. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and we were very happy with the food (came out fast and fresh). The tzatziki spread and feta with honey were excellent. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting the island

Cheap and delicious gyros that were very well portioned. We had both a chicken and pork gyros both equally delicious with homemade chips inside. You can’t go wrong and for the price was an absolute win! We also got the Greek salad the feta was super creamy and yum! Will be going back!

Came here 3 times in 2 days! A solid feed for a great price. The souvlaki is reliable, well-flavoured, and hits the spot every time.
