Inn
Wyndham Costa del Sol Arequipa is a luxurious five-star hotel located just a short distance from the city center, offering a stylish and upscale accommodation option. The hotel features a striking pink facade surrounded by palm trees and an inviting outdoor pool, creating a truly impressive setting. The interior spaces are elegantly decorated with a blend of heritage furniture and modern decor, extending to the well-appointed guest rooms.
We had the greatest time at Costa del Sol Arequipa. Our stay was lovely and incredibly quiet for a hotel that hosted families with children. The staff was beyond helpful at the restaurant, bar, lobby, and front desk. We were particularly fond of Wilfredo at the lobby and Epifanio at the bar and restaurant. The whole staff made our stay top notch and went out of their way to keep us comfortable and to get us transport everywhere. I must add this is the best Costa del Sol I have had the chance to stay at in Peru. We’re definitely coming back to enjoy those gorgeous facilities and comfortable rooms. Thank you very much.

Wow wow wow!!! You must stay at this hotel if you’re planning to go to Arequipa! What a wonderful and amazing place. Rooms are spacious, beds are super, mega comfortable. I slept like a baby. Breakfast is amazing and we had dinner one night and we loved every dish….do not miss their delicious desserts!!! They also offer sauna for their guest for free. Customer service was 10 out of 10!

Beautiful hotel! The food is amazing and the staff are lovely. Most comfortable beds and pillows of my whole trip through Peru. Breakfast has a very large selection, the pool and spa are great and the resident tortoise was also very cool! I stayed 2 non consecutive nights here in different rooms - the first room on the second floor was perfect, the second room on the ground floor was unfortunately very noisy with doors banging and a lot of road/traffic noise. Still, everything else was perfect and I would stay here again

Wow wow wow! This is the perfect place for our family of 4. We have two kids (2, and 4 years old) and this hotel was the highlight of our one month stay in Peru. It was amazing to watch breakfast on the patio, and the boys kids could run to see the turtles, the llamas, playground; and see the garden. Ernesto was our server each breakfast and he was so kind, warm, and memorized our order by the last day. Thank you Ernesto, for making our family feel so welcome and comfortable!

Good: Everything was excellent, breakfast tasty with lots of options, rooms were cozy and clean, the gym was clean and spacious, and the pool was clean and warm. Service was respectful but not excellent, the only reason I’m scoring 4/5 is because of 2 staff people which helped us in every way and carried over the entire hotel service (they both were at the doors and reception). Also, the hotel included a nice detail for my mom’s birthday 🙌🏻. Bad: My only complaint is the WiFi signal, it was poor in our room, I had meetings which I could not attend due to that reason. For the price of the hotel I’d expect WiFi repeaters in each room.

This beautiful property was our launch pad for the Andean Explorer. Two highlights: the sheets and Daniel’s hospitality in the restaurant, especially his Peruvian flair every time he delivered a drink.
Drew C — Google review
We just checked out of the Costa Del Sol Arequipa and would like to thank the hotel for their excellent service. Beautiful grounds, pool and hotel. Everything well organized. The best breakfast at any hotel I have stayed at in Peru over the years. I would highly recommend. Y Gracias a Oscar por su ayuda en el restaurante!
Theresa H — Google review
We stayed 4 days in a Junior suite (one of the higher categories of rooms). You can't drink tap water in Peru but there are only 2 bottles coming with the room for the 4 days!!. Any further water will be charged since you have to take it out of the (expensive) minibar or bring from outside stores, something you don’t expect from a 5 stars hotel. We were two ladies and they only give you a tinny travel size body lotion, we had to look for the room attendant to ask for another one. They had a coffee machine in the room but only give us two coffee pods for the 4 days we stayed and also two paper cups, you have to pay S/.7 if you want an additional coffee pod. Breakfast buffet was excellent, they had traditional dishes like Adobo that we enjoyed and also traditional bread, local fruit, etc, they also have gluten free food. They have live music in the bar on Fridays and Saturdays, drinks were good at a reasonable price. Hotel Room was big, clean and comfortable. Staff was kind but Edwin Sanchez went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, he was very helpful and kind all the time we were around.

La Hostería Boutique Hotel is a polished and elegant accommodation housed in a well-preserved colonial mansion conveniently located near Arequipa's main attractions. The hotel features charming garden patios, flower-filled balconies, and terraces where guests can get lost in the colorful surroundings. With 31 rooms available, including some constructed with sillar, visitors can choose from various options suitable for single travelers, couples, or families.
Spectacularly beautiful hotel in heart of Arequipa, across from Santa Catalina Convent. Rooms are comfortable and service is great. I highly recommend the restaurant as well. Breakfast in the patio was a delight, and each day I lingered next to the gigantic bougainvilia.

Super central hotel in an old, but well maintained building. The surroundings are absolutely gorgeous, with colorful exteriors and plenty of plants. The rooms are well sized and bed / cushions are very comfy. The breakfast buffet is very abundant and there are always free teas and infusions at reception. Location is also great, a short walk (5mins) from great restaurants and the main attraction, the monastery. Would highly recommend the stay.
Kelly G — Google review
Beautiful hotel, a small oasis hidden in the bustling city. The breakfast was excellent, the garden outside/within the hotel was gorgeous, the prettiest flowers, very picturesque and incredibly peaceful! You can also book an hour slot in the pool, sauna and jacuzzi for a v reasonable price and have the entire place yourself! I had a queen room which was by far the most pleasant room we had in our entire Peru trip! Just wonderful, i will always recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Arequipa.
Anjnee M — Google review
Given wrong room they pretended it was better it was vastly inferior, no hot water, water pressure spikes and dips, NO ELECTRIC OUTLETS in the room. Construction from 7am to 9pm. We complained but both receptionists pretended to call the manager who refused to speak to us because they were 'dealing with an emergency' - for 2 days apparently. Shower leaked all over the room, bath was inoperable because the faucet was installed against the wall and could not turn it on. When we arrived another couple were complaining about their room. When we left other guests doing the same. We will dispute with booking.com. That video was taken at 8pm still a team working with heavy power tools directly above our room. Restaurant was closed all day.

Beautiful antique romantic place, flowers everywhere, service and staff very pleasant, polite and knowledgeable. Thank you for letting us stay, we were a party of six and so enjoyed our stay there and got to visit very amazing places in Arequipa a wonderful city and most beautiful landscapes and surroundings. Thank you so much, Ms. Carol Fuentes

This hotel is clean and the lobby is cute but that’s about the end of the positives. Our room had a stained bathtub, a loose rusty nail in the floorboards that almost punctured me, a wood burning stove with no wood in the winter, and a dead TV remote. Lots of small things that should have been obvious to take care of but were ignored. The hostel we stayed at in Cusco was equally nice. Not a 3-star hotel in my opinion, more like a 2.
Bailey G — Google review
Can't ask a better location, the view on the Misti volcano is pretty cool. If you go do a tour before the breakfast you can go to the front desk and ask them to pack you a lunch for breakfast ! Pretty cool! The wifi suck , and I dont really get why the pool spa and sauna you have to pay should be included in the price butttt it is what it is
Gabriel L — Google review
Extremely well located little gem of a hotel. Beautiful courtyard, lush greenery and view, and good rooms. However for the price you pay, we were quite upset about the level of service, attention and care. The breakfast is not that exciting, noone from the staff interacted with us to serve us, ask us if we are comfortable or greet us in the morning. To a point where we chose to have breakfast outside the next morning to get more good morning vibes. On another hand, if you need your peace and quiet in a marvelous spot, than I would recommend it!!

Casa Andina Premium Arequipa is a classic lodging housed in a historic building dating back to 1794, declared a national historic monument and UNESCO Cultural Heritage site. The hotel's ideal location, just three blocks from the main square and behind the Santa Catalina Convent, offers guests easy access to explore the city. The property features elegant decor, high ceilings, and colonial-style courtyards.
Absolutely stunning hotel. Rooms were super nice and comfortable. In a great location to get to the main square and lots of great restaurants. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful calling taxis. The included breakfast had a great spread.

Great location, and rooms. Breakfast very good. Slightly let down by not having any heated lounge area without using gas powerered garden heaters. Breakfast was a bit chilly in the morning. However, I would definitely stay again, and Juan the doorman/porter was a real star... so welcoming and helpful.
Gary F — Google review
I was only here for one night but had a good stay. The hotel has a lot of character in the communal areas with the rooms at the back mostly modern. Due to a mix-up on the hotel’s part, I was kindly upgraded to junior suite which was very spacious and comfortable. Had all the amenities (kettle, hair dryer, mini bar, iron etc). Bed was huge, bathroom also very spacious. Black out blinds were great. Breakfast was good, with some hot dishes, including eggs, grilled vegetables and (fried chicken :)) lots of fruits, juices etc. And a good coffee machine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is fantastic, close to the main square and right next to the Santa Catalina Monastery (main sight of Arequipa). Checkout is 12:00 which is nice in comparison to other hotels in Peru with 9/10am checkout times! Bathroom shower door didn’t close properly but otherwise no complaints!
Zohras R — Google review
This was one of my favourite hotels durring my entire trip across Peru. The rooms are a great size and well laid out. The design of the courtyards and common areas are exceptional. Breakfast in the courtyard was bliss, great selection of food and great service. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Great hotel.
Jon B — Google review
This is the best of all Casa Andina hotels we have stayed in Peru. Excellent location, impeccable service and very specious. All pictures I uploaded are from the interior. The buffet has a big choice of food. The hotel is located in an old mint factory established in 1794. The hotel has renovated the place with style preserving the ambiance of 18th century.
Ashod M — Google review
Nice quiet location with great access to the Plaza and restaurants. The rooms were clean but not very big and the a/c units blew directly on the bed. The breakfast had a great variety of choices in a beautiful courtyard. The historic hotel was well maintained. Juan provided outstanding advice where to dine, helped with luggage and was genuinely nice to talk with about Arequipa. We invited our son to breakfast and it seemed a bit expensive. More than dinner entrees at most restaurants.
Rose W — Google review
Highly unique property...understand it was former Treasury Department building. Occupied a suite of rooms off the patio that consisted of a large living room that led to an equally large bedroom and bathroom. Service was impeccable. Bartender was fantastic and even helped us purchase the high grade of pisco to take home to states with us so we can make pisco sours there! Great location...short walk to historical center of Arequipa and top-rated restaurants!

Casa Andina Select Arequipa Plaza is a modern hotel located right next to Plaza de Armas in Arequipa, offering convenient access to the city's key tourist attractions. The hotel features 58 comfortable rooms spread across 5 floors, along with amenities such as an internet center, rooftop pool, gym, and sauna. Guests can enjoy delicious meals at the on-site restaurant, La Plaza Bar & Grill.
Great location and service right in the plaza. Great for me visiting Peru for first time. Breakfast was good - plenty of selection. Nice gym - used it twice. Too cool outside for the rooftop pool, but great views on the roof. I was part of a group holding meetings there, and the catering was decent too. My room had a private patio and room was nicely furnished. Bathroom was great. Housekeeping was very friendly as well. I had the hotel take some laundry and it was done in about 5-6 hours. Some music/street noise at night, but it wasn’t too bad (especially compared with other places I’ve stayed). Great restaurants around this tourist area. I might stay here again when visiting AQP. You can’t go wrong with this spot.

We had a great stay at Casa Andina Select Plaza de Armas. The facilities were excellent and the hotel is in a prime location. The dining area and pool deck offer amazing views of the Plaza de Armas, perfect for a relaxing afternoon or evening. We were also impressed with the well-equipped gym, which was a nice bonus and had a refillable water station. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with a variety of options to choose from. We enjoyed eating on the beautiful terrace, which was a great way to start each day. The staff were friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for its great location, beautiful views, and excellent amenities.
Steve T — Google review
The location is superb, exactly ‘ in ‘ the Plaza de Armas, very convenient to go anywhere in the Centro histórico. The service is excellent, all the staff are very helpful. The room is small but clean and get everything you need. The restaurant offers good breakfast and lunch/dinnder options too. I have no doubt to recommend this hotel!
Elvin H — Google review
The hotel generally met expectations and has a nice view of the square, but I felt envious of several friends who stayed a block or two away at more hip hotels with nice rooftop bars/restaurants and interior courtyards.
Logan S — Google review
We picked this hotel for the Arequipa leg of our Peruvian trip and we were not disappointed. The location, the food an service were excellent. The only negative point is that the hotel itself is noisy due to poor insulation between the rooms. The sound from the other guests was loud enough to disturb us and even wake us up at night. The are also repeated mechanical noises coming from different parts of the hotel. Our room was spacious and we had a balcony facing the Plaza de Armas / cathedral. We had the breakfast included in our reservation and it starts at 6:00 AM. It is composed of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices, fruits, bread, pastries, yogurt, salad, bacon, sausage, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, cereal, yogurt, pancake and a meat based meal (chicken or beef) that changed daily (e.g. beef stew or chicken stir fry). On one of the sunny afternoon, we used the pool and sun deck to relax and cool off so that was really appreciated. The service from the staff was exceptional and they even accompanied us to the taxi stand on our departure since taxis are not allowed to drive to the hotel (pedestrian area).
JP B — Google review
I've been at other Casa Andina properties: Pucallpa, Chiclayo, Piura, Paracas and now Arequipa. The Select Hotel has THE BEST location, right in the main square, next to the Cathedral. I feel at home, but in this particular ocasion it felt even better. Safe and secure, quiet, peaceful. I came in a business trip and I could work peacefully inside my room and at the public spaces. And I slept so nice. It was like a mini vacation. I'm looking forward to come back with my family in a real vacation.
Walter L — Google review
Stayed for a week at Casa Andina Select, some days for work and a few days for personal family visit. We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff throughout the hotel was professional, respectful and helpful. The rooms are perfect size for our need and even though the hotel is located in the main Plaza of the city, it was not noisy, in fact, we slept very well. The restaurant has a very good breakfast buffet, and in the evening, a beautiful location to enjoy a glass of wine with a breathtaking view of the cathedral. We highly recommend the hotel for work and for a family vacation.
Carmen L — Google review
The food at buffet was horrible, I got the pesto pasta and white sauce penne pasta but both pasta was super salty. They need to have more food options for buffet.

CIRQA - Relais & Châteaux is an upscale hotel located in the best neighborhood of Arequipa, just a block away from the main square. Housed in a 16th-century building made of local volcanic sillar rock, it offers 11 luxurious rooms with high-vaulted ceilings and modern minimalist decor. The hotel features two outdoor courtyards, a plunge pool, and a restaurant that serves sumptuous meals made from local ingredients.
CIRQA is a conveniently located hotel in Arequipa, featuring unique local architecture blended with contemporary decor. It offers comfortable rooms and inviting common areas, including a charming interior patio and a rooftop bar. The service is outstanding, and the bar options are ideal for unwinding at the end of the day. We relished a delicious meal at its top-notch restaurant, and breakfast was another pleasant surprise with a variety of options to satisfy all tastes. A perfect choice if you're looking to experience a dream getaway.
Alonso P — Google review
One of the reasons people visit Arequipa is to acclimate to a higher altitude before going to Cusco. I'd argue that staying at CIRQA is worth the visit unto itself. We spent two nights here in between Lima and Cusco. The hotel entrance is almost hidden from view on the street. Entering it reminded me of the riads I stayed in when in Morocco. You're greeted by an attentive host and shown to your room. The property is small with only 11 rooms, all of which are immaculately decorated. Honestly, being here is like being in the pages of Architecture Digest. It's deserving of the White City. The service is unparalleled. We wanted for nothing. From our meals to our concierge with whom we communicated via Whatsapp throughout the day. The hotel is also just a 2 minute walk from the main square and close to all local sites you'd want to visit. We chose this property because of it's association with Relais & Chateaux and were very pleased with our stay.

Amazing luxury hotel within walking distance to all the historical sights and wonderful restaurants. Staff is amazing and they make you feel like family. Rooms are quiet with comfortable beds. Breakfast and dinner menu had many options and we were pleased to know that this is only for hotel guests. Every dish we ate was delicious. Dining room, patio and rooftop deck were wonderful options for having drinks, tea and food. Staff was so accommodating and always available. WhatsApp was a perfect way to request something and it (what ever we requested) would be there in minutes. We stayed for six nights and highly recommend this hotel!
L A — Google review
I only went to their restaurant but what an amazing experience, best food in Peru (disclaimer, I didn’t get to go to other top restaurants due to long reservation lead times). Service was incredibly courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. Ambience is elegant , high class. Came out totally impressed
Catalin F — Google review
The hotel is well-maintained, with beautiful and thoughtfully designed rooms. However, they are quite dark and have very few windows, which, when opened, leave the interior fully exposed to outside view. The staff was informal and the service did not reflect high standards. In the evening, while we were at dinner, no one came in for turndown service—something that had been done consistently in all the other Belmond hotels we stayed at during this trip. We had wet towels left in the room overnight, which created humidity. The welcome was very casual; we were neither invited to sit down nor shown the terrace or other hotel spaces—which, in any case, are quite small. There were also difficulties bringing our luggage to the room, and I ended up assisting the staff. Overall, not a service level one would expect from a high-end property. A beautiful hotel, but it lacks that extra touch. I would recommend it, though with some reservations about the service.
Gianmarco I — Google review
Cirqa is a stunning hotel, beautifully restored with incredible attention to detail. The architecture and ambiance are truly special, creating an atmosphere that feels both historic and luxurious. We chose the half-board option and had dinner both nights — an absolute highlight of our stay. The food was excellent, and the ambiance at dinner made it a must-do experience in itself. The staff work very hard to ensure every guest has a memorable stay, and it really shows. Although it’s a small boutique hotel, we’ve stayed at many similar properties, and Cirqa definitely stands out as one of the most memorable. The rooms are very nice; while they do open onto the inner courtyard, we didn’t mind at all. Overall, Cirqa combines character, comfort, and exceptional hospitality — a true gem in Arequipa.
Usman K — Google review
This is for the rooftop retreat. We were given a rooftop menu and had the mini Rocoto Relleno which were perfect for 2-4 people and delicious. I had a rosado that was surprisingly complex and the wife had an extremely well balanced cocktail. The atmosphere is nice and while there is no amazing view it made for a fun early evening. Menu attached.

Nestled in the vibrant Cerro Colorado district, the Sonesta Hotel Arequipa is a stunning 5-star retreat that perfectly blends comfort and elegance. Just a short distance from both the historic center and modern commercial areas, this hotel caters to both business and leisure travelers. With its two impressive buildings soaring over ten floors each, guests are treated to breathtaking views of Arequipa's iconic volcanoes from spacious windows on the top floor.
We 100% recommend this hotel! Everything is just perfect and the staff is most professional, friendly and helpful. Ms. Ana Karen Abrill was on top of it all with her shining smile. THANK YOU !

Clean rooms. Beautiful hotel. Martin at the restaurant was wonderful. Melissa and Evelyn were kind and helpful. Happy with my experience. Will come back.

The hotel was nice. Most Sonesta hotels are. Location was far from most if not all places worth visiting and general transport in the city is not easy so plan ahead. The included breakfast left a lot to be desired. Definitely did not live up to the expected quality you’re used from upscale Peruvian food served at good hotels. Service was overall good.

Came in the night and with the High Roof 4x4 vehicles and got really upset with the attitude of reception counter. Basically every one of them have own opinion. One says park infront hotel, another says park on the side and another comes says back at the back of the hotel. We had a group dinner and most of them went to bed and new to move the Cars again as it is not safe and need to move before 6 am. After disturbing the rest and they expect us to be up by 6 am moving these Cars. Truly hope less counter service
Assir A — Google review
The rooms are comfortable. There are many types of food for breakfast. The service staff cleans the room every day.

Far of down town (close to airport) but rooms are enough confortable, service are really good and hi restaurant offers good alternatives.
Omar B — Google review
Exceptional service during my stay, staff was very accommodating. Rooms were very clean and modern, the hotel seems to be fairly new. Gym was a bit lacking, and needed more weights. Room service was great, I would recommend the wings. If you're going to be getting around by Uber/taxi then this is the perfect spot but if you want to walk around I would recommend you stay closer to the square. Although an Uber was only about $4 USD to the square, it was a very reasonable trade-off.

Easily the nicest place we've stayed in South America! The staff is wonderful, not everyone speaks English but it's always easy to find someone who does. Hopefully, you'll get to meet the unbelievably charming Ms. Gloria, who manages the restaurant, and I would recommend the breakfast option as it is an all you can eat buffet with American style offerings like fried eggs and omelet bar, cereals, fruit, breads, juices and coffee, as well as European and Peruvian options that feel more like lunch or dinner to us (but that's what they eat). We have made good use of the many amenities of the hotel as there is an typical American style gym with dumbbell free weights, treadmill, elliptical, and recumbent bike but they also have a steam room, a dry sauna, and a jacuzzi that is scheduled free of charge for private use. Since we're from the American South, and Arequipa is so dry, we have made much use of the steam room! Rooms are spacious for Arequipa and are about what you'd expect at an American hotel. Staff wear suit and ties, unless the Peru national team is playing a game that day and they let restaurant staff wear their jerseys, which makes it kind of fun. They have the usual amenities you'd expect at hotels in the States such as laundry service, daily house keeping, soaps, and all the stuff but with some extra touches that make it nice. They bring a glass of local juice when you arrive, tea and infused water is always available in the lobby with a few snacks, and in the afternoon they bring by a little sweet bite of something to leave in your room. Pretty easy to get to downtown via taxi, as long as traffic isn't too bad, and reachable by walking, which we like to do, in about 30 - 40 minutes depending if you're going downhill to the plaza or uphill back to the hotel. Depending on the day, we would just walk down and get a taxi back. Airport is close but not so close that you hear it, unlike the train that passes by a few times a day. Hotel is right next to a hospital, if a medical emergency were to arrive. There are certainly much cheaper places that you can stay and places that would provide a more rustic Arequipeno experience, but if you're looking for something familiar to come home to after you venture out during the day, then this would be a safe bet. Funny things: They have four elevators that make it quick and easy to get up and down but it uses a different system where you push the number you want to go to before you get in, so there is nothing to push when inside - it's been funny to feel the need to push another button even after several days of using them. Peruvians love music in English and they often like it just a little louder than it would be played in the US. A few of the nearby fields have sheep, so it's kind of fun to watch them herd the sheep through the parking lot every now and again.

The staff of this hotel is world class. They are extremely accommodating and will help you with anything you need. The rooms are spacious and they offer hot showers. We found the food to not only be reasonably priced but also of great quality for the prices. I can’t recommend this hotel enough for anyone!!!

We stayed at the Mint Hotel for 4 nights! The hotel is located in a very quiet nice neighborhood but only a short walk to the plaza! The rooms are very spacious and very clean! Wifi worked very well. The breakfast was delicious and we even had one dinner there as well. Most of all the staff was wonderful!

I stayed almost a week at mint hotel. The staff of the hotel was exceptional. From the moment I entered the hotel the reception helped me with everything I need. I came broused from an accident and the hotel staff helped me find a clinic and even instructed the taxi driver the exact address. In addition, the hotel restaurant was very good with exceptional service. Special thanks to the waiter Mariano which was attentive, professional and most of all a friend when I was having a tough day. He even helped me with a personal problem outside of his job. I've stayed at many hotels during my travels, and hotel mint had one of the best service I've had the chance to experience. Thank you for a wonderful stay and amazing experience.

Palla Boutique Hotel is a stylish and trendy lodging option in Arequipa, conveniently located just three minutes from the main square. Despite being situated in a tourist area, it offers a peaceful atmosphere. The hotel's rooms blend the city's artistic ambiance with modern amenities. Guests can enjoy stunning mountain views from the rooftop terrace. The hotel also provides free Wi-Fi and private parking.
My wife and I stayed at the Palla Boutique Hotel in July this year as part of our honeymoon. We had a great stay here! The location of the hotel is good, city center within walking distance. I'm not sure but I feel that we were upgraded to a bigger room due to the fact that we were on our honeymoon. The views from both the room and the rooftop terrace were amazing. The breakfast was delicious too!

The staff at this hotel are exceptionally kind and welcoming, making for a pleasant stay. The breakfast, while simple, offers a variety of options to suit different tastes. One of the highlights is the rooftop, which provides a lovely view of the surrounding landscape. The rooms are decent, though we found them a bit dim and could have used more lighting. Dinner was quite enjoyable, with well-prepared dishes. The hotel’s location is another plus—situated close to the city center, making it convenient for exploring. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

We had a wonderful three-night stay at Palla Boutique Hotel in Arequipa. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the city’s main attractions and excellent dining options. Breakfast on the rooftop was a highlight, offering not only delicious food but also breathtaking views of the city and mountains. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome throughout our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. ALL the staff were friendly and helpful. It was clean. Beds comfy. Few mins walk up to the main square so very convenient. Breakfast was good. The top floor terrace is a key selling feature, stunning views and great to relax. Gym was decent for both cardio and weights. Restaurant served tasty food, I loved the creole soup. I would suggest 2 improvements 1. Our first room was under terrace and we woke each morning early to sounds (presumably staff moving furniture around). 2. The downstairs restaurant is cold on a night, they should install bi-fold doors to section it off and heat it.

Nestled in the heart of Arequipa, Katari Hotel at Plaza de Armas is a luxurious boutique hotel that seamlessly blends modern amenities with the city's rich cultural heritage. The hotel offers 15 well-appointed rooms adorned with colonial-style furniture and pre-Columbian accents, providing a glimpse into the White City's diverse history. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and a delicious breakfast while taking in stunning views of the historic square and surrounding volcanic mountains from the rooftop terrace.
I'm late with this review. It was about 2017 we stayed here for a total of 5 days. We arrived late with no reservation. Presidential suite was all that was available. What a great stay it was. Service and food was superb. Breakfast and dinner on the veranda on the roof, I can picture it like it was just yesterday. Spent a week exploring the Colca canyon. Then returned to the Katari for rest and relaxation.
Kevin K — Google review
Very pretentious hotel. Not welcoming, almost judgemental when you walk in. Only thing good about hotel is location. Rooftop is advertised as one of the best; Not really. It’s small, service is subjective to what language you speak and to get upstairs you have to make it by the gatekeeper. The Katari is not very welcoming. You can find better elsewhere.

I had the chance to enjoy my stay at this wonderful hotel for the second time! The location and the hospitality from the staff are always amazing especially from Miss Nieves. The hotel has felt confortable and very clean BUT the best place is the top floor for the best view of the city. You can also enjoy the best breakfast/foods where i have to congratulate the CHEF ALEXANDER for the professionalism towards his craft. I recommend this location to anyone who wants to visit Arequipa, 5 stars.

DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANY REASON. STAFF ARE SLOW TO HELP AND THEN THEY JUST SAY IT'S THE COMPANY NOT USE. THIS IS A CON JOB IF IVE EVER SEEN ONE DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU ARE AT THE HOTEL!!!!!

We were forced to stay here due to the incompetence of our tour company gotoperu. The rooms are basic there is no airconditioning and natural ventilation is minimal. We had a room facing the square and had little sleep due to the noise. The rooms resemble prison cells. The wole place reminded me of a cheap backpackers in Europe. There are better places to stay in this city.

I like this cozy little hotel makes you feel at home for a little bit. The owner was personally nice friendly and welcoming. The resort make sure to keep their guess safe by locking all the gates by the midnight. So on top of it a nice location a little bit far from the center but it can still work. Totally recommend staying here.

Lovely place with comfortable, spacious rooms, good size beds, very clean and full of local rustic charm. It has an internal garden where you can have a glass of wine, meditate in the shade and watch hummingbirds. It is in a safe, quiet neighbourhood, but within walking distance to the Plaza de Armas, so you are still close to everything. A fair amount of breakfast options is provided and the three course dinner we had was delicious. The hosts and the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to assist you in any way they can. Muchisimas gracias Jean-Louis!

What an exceptional hotel! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I visited last fall and it was a worthy experience. The breakfast was decadent and everything was clean. All the staff were incredibly friendly and kind! Jonathan, Diego, Juan Carlos, Georgette, y Beto we’re particularly helpful and kind to me! Jonathan was the first person I encountered there and he was so friendly and accommodating and Diego was amazing even bringing breakfast to my room when something additional needed to be prepared. Overall, the customer service skills here were excellent! Additionally, they have an insanely talented piano player and hearing him play whether on the rooftop bar or from my room was exquisite. This tiny boutique hotel is also strategically located and is the type of hotel one can simply go to for a staycation or to rest! I loved everything about it and again everyone that worked here was so kind and respectful and enjoyed our interactions! Margarita! 💛💛💕🫶🏽🫶🏽🌸

From the moment we arrived, the staff were amazing! We travel quite a bit and can honestly say Jose and Sandra along with each and every other staff member was incredible. Jose recommended the best restaurants in the area (3 in total). The lobby is really beautiful and welcoming, the stairs, hallways and lounge areas in common areas are very clean, comfortable and updated in design. The bedroom was perfect (okay, the toilet area could have been a little larger). The water pressure was great. The bed was so perfect and they offer 2 types of pillows soft and firm. The sheets were like new, the view was mesmerizing. We both highly recommend this hotel if you ever find yourself in this very nice town.

Nice hotel but new building started next door and they put dogs in as security which kept us up all night. I no the hotel can't do much about their neighbours but if want a good night sleep this is not the place to go. Some kind of band practice starts early in mornings and also during the day. We were in Arequipa, and we loved the white city of Peru very much, and along with it comes the place where we stayed for 2 days !! The location of the hotel; its rooms; view from the room - we just loved everything !! The bell boys were very cooperative and the hotel has a nice team of people !! The hotel premises have been kept well maintained, and cleanliness is visible everywhere !! You can safely hand over your belongings to the hotel; they have a luggage storage facility !!

We had a great stay at Casa Andina for two nights. Located only a few blocks from Plaza de Armas in the old neighbourhood of Barrio de San Lazaro, it has a number of good restaurants in the vicinity as well as laundries. The staff are excellent - welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are modern and clean and beds are comfortable. There is a comfortable Internet Lounge on 2nd floor with hot and filtered water and teas and a beautiful terrace on 4th floor looking towards the volcanoes. A great place to stay.

Two night - three day stay. First time at the hotel. I was impressed by the check in service. Very professional it really made me feel welcome. The rooms are comfortable. No extras but it has everything that is needed. No AC so i imagine that it can get pretty hot depending on the weather. No heating unit just a ceiling fan. I had no problem with the temperature of the room but it might be an issue on very cold or very hot days. The restaurant has great service as well.
Ken S — Google review
The hotel is ok, nothing special. Rooms are clean and functional but nothing more. The walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbouring rooms clearly. The location is good, not far from the city centre. The staff are very helpful. The food is average. Do not stay in a room near reception, it gets very noisy at all times in the night.
David M — Google review
Pretty good, clean bathrooms, in a good location to attractions. Has its own little restaurant for food, would recommend going out to local restaurants though rather then the ones in the hotels, after all should be trying local dishes! Laundromat services is plentiful just down the street for cheap.
M C — Google review
The sparse "decor" of this hotel is just a step too far. From the fact that you have to carry bags up a short flight of stairs to get to reception, to the cheap cafe nature of the restaurant. Nothing bodes too well when you arrive. Staff are happy enough, and proved to be helpful. Worst of all was the noise. It echoes through the corridors, getting amplified as it goes. Can't remember a more noisy hotel. Not a good rest, let alone sleep.

Hotel looks really nice and rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast took a very long time to be served, I think it doesn't help that the breakfast times are only between 6.30-8.30 and everyone comes at this time. If you have plans for the morning better consider this.

Location and service at this hotel was stunning. The open air rooftop breakfast room was amazing - you can see views of the volcano while you eat your meal! However, there is a nightclub across the street that is pumping bass music until early morning hours. So if you need some better quiet to sleep, this is not the place for you.

We got a room with a private balcony, and loved the view. All staff were friendly, there was a flexible check-in, and rooftop bar was great. We would highly recommend the pisco sour workshop at the rooftop bar. Issues we faced were that the shower sometimes ran out of hot water, and with how centrally located the hostel is it was quite loud during the weekend. Hostel does provide free earplugs, though.

We had a great stay, staff were super friendly and helpful, the courtyard lobby was lovely to relax in while waiting for our room to be ready, and the location is excellent. Just around the corner from some lovely places to eat (Oso Cafe), and a block away from a craft market (Centro Artesanal Fundo), with Mundo Alpaca and all of the historic district accessible by foot. The room was well modernised, the bed comfortable, good shower pressure/heat, and everything was clean. They offer laundry service, have breakfast and an in-house restaurant (with great views of the volcano and mountains).

At Casa de Avila, guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast in the garden each morning. The hotel is located just 400 metres from the main square in Arequipa, Peru, and features comfortable en suite rooms.
Casa de Avila is a corner of paradise in Arequipa. The first time I entered it was for a cooking experience at their terrace, but when I saw the garden and the rooms around it I decided to cancel my reservation elsewhere and spend a couple of nights here. The room was very cosy, clean and new, the bed comfortable and spacious. The shower warm! The garden is perfect for a chill afternoon reading or for having breakfast in the sun. The buffet breakfast is the best I had in all my trip to Peru. Natalia and all the staff are extremely kind, welcoming and ready to help. Super recommended!

We had a great stay here. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. The rooms all face a central garden with trees, flowers, seating, etc. It's a lovely and tranquil space. The bathroom had fantastic hot water and great water pressure. Breakfast includes typical Continental fare, eggs to order and another hot item every day with coffee, tea, fruit & fresh juices. We would definitely stay here again.

I had a lovely stay at Casa de Avila and I will be excited to stay here again the next time I visit Arequipa. All staff I interacted with (reception, kitchen, cleaning, everyone) were incredibly kind and accommodating, and were even patient with me as I practiced my Spanish! I was working remotely for the week and the wifi at Casa de Avila was able to handle it. The courtyard area is beautiful; Between the breakfast, working, and relaxing, I spent a lot of time in the courtyard. I checked out of Casa de Avila feeling refreshed and ready to continue my trip through Peru. Thanks for a great stay!

Again, I chose this hotel because it was on the list of recommended hotels from Peru Hops, my bus/tour facilitator from Lima to Cusco (I highly recommend them by the way!). I paid Peru Hops directly which is very practical because they will facilitate any last minute changes you may have. I was dropped off the hotel at 5 AM from Nasca and check-in time was only at noon. A few other passengers were able to get their room right away for a small fee which was great for them. Unfortunately, my room was not ready but they had a large area where I could wait and rest. Also, since they knew that the next day I was leaving very early for a hike they suggested I have breakfast upon checking-in which I thought was very kind of them. The breakfast buffet was the nicest so far on this trip and they will bring you eggs to your order. I am glad I didn’t miss this! The rooms are large and comfortable except for the bathroom which are a little tight. Bedding is very comfortable and I 6 pillows all to myself! Their luggage storage facility is very handy if you’re doing multiple day hikes. Their locker room is very safe, accompanied access all the time and always kept locked. Finally, this hotel is well located. Only a 10 minute walk to Plaza de Armas and the basilica. This was a great choice.

Very nice hotel , the room was big and comfortable. The garden is a gem , the location is perfect , walking distance to the city center . Very nice, friendly and helpful staff, i arrived sick and they made it possible for me to stay longer even in the same room I had . Thank you again ! Highly recommended place

Really lovely hotel, very clean, nice helpful staff, 24 hour check in, amazing breakfast included with items made to order to your taste. Booked extra days I liked it so much. Was kind enough to bring me more toilet paper late at night when I wasn’t feeling great

I was there, the staff is friendly, the breakfast was really good, thumbs up, I think each room has a theme, mine unfortunately was the red room, it is an eyesore. Hope they will take note of this.

Really nice people! Amazing kitchen and amazing breakfast. Highly recommend. Ah one thing which counts for all the places in Arequipa. Please stop with the corny cover music. I prefer the local easy music :)

An small hotel, but clean, organized, good food, friendly personnel, close to the center of the city, the historical monuments and colonial churches. Rooms are not big, but are practical, comfortable, small refrigerator, good light, desk, and good maintenance.

Just finishing my third night here and have really enjoyed it. The rooms are quirky. Our room is bright pink. But it is very clean and fun. The people who work here are fantastic and really helpful. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the center, so close enough, but not right in the thick of things, if that is important to you. Breakfast was good and they can arrange ariport pick up. Overall great value for money!

Nice place with the best breakfast during our Peru trip. Also close to the center and a good starting point to Colca Canyon. They offer to keep the luggage during multi day trips which is very comfortable.

The friendly and helpful staff contribute to a unique atmosphere that sets this place apart.
We stayed here for 3 nights and we love our stays here! Owner Antonio is super hospitality and friendly, always put a big smile on and recommended us places to go in town. The neighbourhood is safe and around 15 mins walk to the square.

The host Antonio is great. He makes you feel at home and is always there to help you out. The breakfast is extensive. The rooms are clean and decent. Overall a great stay in Arequipa

After a long and cold ride from Cusco, me and my buddy found ourselves a warm welcome in Arequipa by the host Antonio (who speaks Español, English and even a bit of German). This old Spanish guesthouse is a very pleasant and beautiful place where a traveler can find some rest. Our days in Arequipa always started off with a nice breakfast in the courtyard. The same courtyard where the parking of our motorbikes was no problemo. A true gem, close to the city centre of Arequipa.

I was intrigued from all the wonderful reviews and was not let down. One of my favorite hotel experiences, Jose went out of his way to make me feel so welcomed. The hotel is an easy 15 minutes walk to the main square along quiet back roads, the hotel is perfectly located for restaurants and convince stores, too. South America is loud! the rooms here however were so quiet it was a perfect stay to relax

The manager - Antonio - is a friendly and sociable guy. and the loaction of the Posada is close to the Plaza de Armas (10 min by foot). The Posada is an old colonical style villa. I enjoyed my stay there very much! The taxi driver had problems to navigate to it.

Amazing and good value of money. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The even cared for a breakfast in a bag when we had to leave very early. The rooms are super clean and there was warm water. Also there enough blankets if necessary

What a wonderful find! A 10 minute walk from the centre of Arequipa. The rooms are spacious and very light. Big, comfy sofas in the common areas and a beautiful terrace where you have a huge breakfast (which is included) in the mornings. Staff and owner are so friendly and welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations on where to eat and what to see. I would highly recommend this as a gorgeous place to stay whilst in Arequipa!!

(Translated by Google) They didn't meet the check-in time of 2 p.m. We waited 45 minutes for them to finish cleaning the room, and their response was, "The staff can't keep up." They don't give all the instructions for using the room. I entered and there was no electricity. I had to return to reception (because they don't answer the phone) and there they only told me that the card/key must be inserted into a slot that activates the electricity. The walls have leaks and the bathroom is moldy; there is no maintenance. Breakfast is served on the patio, a nice place, however, the birds do their thing, they stand on the breakfast buffet tables and the guest tables and start eating the crumbs. There is only one person supervising this, but more attentive to their cell phone. And finally, they use old photos when asked before booking, and upon arrival, there are details that are not shown as in the photos. The reception staff is not at all friendly (none of the three people who were there when I stayed). And finally, we were doing a ceramic painting activity on the patio and the manager came up to us and said "we couldn't do that" (in a tone of voice like (If he was doing something prohibited, that's because we didn't have any protection for the table. When he looked closely, he realized we had put down bases to protect the glass table and then said, "Okay, otherwise they might charge you for any damage." 259 soles for one night, I don't recommend it at all.

The Basilica Cathedral of Arequipa is a massive Catholic cathedral in Peru, known for its on-site museum displaying religious objects and artwork. Despite being damaged and rebuilt multiple times due to earthquakes over its 500-year history, it remains one of the most beautiful Roman Catholic churches in the country. Situated in a popular tourist area near landmarks like the Santa Cantalina monastery and Colca Canyon, it attracts many visitors.
This is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world. I must say the architecture is unique. All made in white volcano lava stone. I did not pay any money to enter but I just went to pray. I must say you can take a private tour and walk further down into the convent, I adore the sculpture of Lucifer.
Ljubica B — Google review
The Basílica Catedral de Arequipa is not just an architectural marvel — it’s a living monument to the city’s resilience, faith, and cultural identity. Whether you're a history lover, architecture enthusiast, or just wandering through Arequipa's beautiful center, this cathedral demands your time and admiration. It’s the heart of the White City — and it absolutely feels like it.

As a student I paid 5 sol, I got a guided tour of the cathedral, the museum and the bell tower. It was spectacular! No pictures were allowed in the museum but some pieces were breathtaking, I highly recommend. The bell tower had a fantastic view of the Plaza de Armas! Throughout the tour Percy, our tour guide, spoke Spanish to others in my group but changed to speak English to me and my sister. He was amazing!!
Joni D — Google review
Beautiful church and plaza in the area. Recommend to go inside if you have the possibility.
Theo M — Google review
Nice cathedral with good views from the rooftop. You must have a guide before you can enter so do have to wait for that but the guide is good. I’d prefer (and recommend) a fixed fee ticket price including the guide to make it more transparent.
Jason P — Google review
Ten soles for the ticket and whatever you want to pay for the mandatory tour. The guide only delivered the tour in Spanish but he was immensely friendly, knowledgeable and humorous. They take you to the museum (no photos or videos) and the rooftop. Absolutely worth the time and money and then some.

Beautiful basilica! Must see.

Worth visiting. Not being used to hold regular mass except for special occassions, same as the Lima cathedral that been turned into a museum. Need to enter the museum to view the interior of the cathedral. The entrance is on the left side. The ticket to museum is accompanied by a guide. Beautiful architecture. No picture taking on the gold and silver collections at the exhibits. Youll be able to climb on the roof deck to see the bell towers and the views of the mountains and volcano surrounding Arequipa.

Guests have praised the helpful and kind staff who went above and beyond to assist when needed.
This place is amazing. It may not be in the centre of town but it's close enough and far nicer and cleaner than anything at that price range. We spent alot of time in Arequipa and visited many hotels and hostels. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. When my girlfriend got sick, they went out of their way to help us. This place was quite, even with the construction going on across the street. WiFi is good and the breakfast is nice (eggs, bread coffee). Bed are comfortable and the water is warm. We would definitely stay again.

Great, economical hotel. There’s a front desk and check-in is easy and professional (I HATE “hotels” that are just aAirBnBs in disguise and you have to find the key. Trust me—that’s not what this is.) Clean, private room with a large desk for working. A supermarket within a ~6 minute walk. Quiet, peaceful area with a parking garage as well. Friendly staff.

A nice hotel providing a good breakfast which includes eggs :) A good number of pilots or lower level military like to stay here and they appear to be regulars which explains why we received interior rooms (window faces another room's window). They allowed us to arrive about 6am and sleep for a few hours before we had breakfast, then change to our permanent room. For about 25 soles we were allowed to come back after we checked out and use a shower before taking the night bus :) I would have liked Mandala more if the beds were firmer, and there wash a way to warm up the room.

Very happily surprised during our stay. The place looks beautiful and is pretty new so everything looks fresh. The city of Arequipa is really nice and the hotel is located right in the city center, but actually we preferred staying onsite because everything’s there in this little peaceful paradise. Stayed in September 2022 with my girlfriend in presidental suite. Location is not directly in the town centre but easily accessible by feet. The room was really big, nice and tidy, even with a separate courtyard. The "best of" in the hotel - staff. Friendly, extremely helpful and grateful. They were able to organise for us two places in the trip to Colca Canyon (even when not in english :) ) directly for the next day. Moreover, my girlfriend had birthday during our stay. I asked the receptionist to prepare the room somehow special (for a tip, of course). They did really their best with flowers, other decorations and even a dessert in a room! Really great experience!

Really enjoyed our 5-night stay here. Quiet neighborhood within walking distance of Yanahuara and the malls. High quality service and extra friendly staff (everyone we came in contact with except 1 waitress). The breakfast buffet had a good variety of food although similar day to day. Slight glitches with payment - took weeks to get confirmation of our first payment to guarantee the booking, and we were given the wrong exchange rate upon checkout. Otherwise, would definitely recommend this hotel!

Nice place, clean modern rooms, great staff and good breakfast. Rooms could use more air circulation, and not to many of the local taxis seemed to know where it was (language barrier may have played a hand in that), so keep the address handy if going out. Quaint hotel with very basic services. Zero amenities. Continental breakfast nothing to write about. The breakfast setting overlooks a junk property which is not very welcoming. They offer filtered water free of charge, and allow you to refill your own water bottles free of charge. The staff are friendly but don’t go out of their way for anything. There’s not much nearby. The Plaza de Armas is an easy walking distance. There are many more boutique hotels nearby which may be more personal and better amenities. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Checked in and bathroom door fell off hinges within five minutes. Stayed three nights and had two freezing cold showers due to no hot water available. Hotel staff on front desk not very friendly but the waiter named Edwin was awesome and very attentive, Breakfast was average and bed pillows provided were dodgy, would not recommend staying here.
Mick B — Google review
Very luxurious rooms, which was great. However, it was pretty dirty on the rooms, with loads of hairs in the bath and on the floor. We asked for a different room, but they only had smaller ones, so they cleaned our existing room. First they did that with a broom, so I told them they need a vacuum cleaner. We then left and when we came back, the room was clean 👍 I would have easily given 5 stars if the room would have been clean, because the bath (double jet bath) and bed were great. Also, in the evening, there was a sax 🎷 player in the restaurant, which was awesome!

Highly recommend - great hostel right in the centre of Arequipa. Huge common spaces, a great kitchen, lots of showers with hot water. Breakfast is simple but tasty and the staff are really friendly. Don’t usually write reviews but really wanted to for this B&B - best one I stayed in whilst I was in Peru. The location is amazing right by the square, the single room was functional, comfortable, and quiet. The shower was the hottest temperature I had during my trip, and the staff were friendly and calm. The breakfast was very basic, but for the money you can’t argue with anything. As a solo female traveller I felt at ease! Thankyou :)

Excellent shared spaces and very clean communal bathrooms. Great location. Rooms are variable, towards poor value for money - we moved rooms a couple of times and found the quality very different despite all being double rooms with private bathroom. Internet/wifi is terrible- I'd recommend 5am if you wish to actually use it. Obviously they have expanded massively without expanding Internet provision. Overall I would struggle to recommend at the current price.

Good for the price and location. Breakfast is basic but good and free. WiFi is good Only downside is the temperature can be quite volatile since there's no AC or heating anywhere, so you get too cold at night and too hot in the day. Normal for the city tho.

Hotel San Agustín Posada del Monasterio is a charming vintage hotel housed in an 18th-century building constructed with the iconic sillar stone, reflecting the architectural heritage of Arequipa. Situated near the Santa Catalina Monastery and just a couple of blocks from downtown, this historic property offers well-maintained rooms with modern amenities. Guests can savor regional and international cuisine at the on-site restaurant or enjoy a drink in the rustic bar.
Really great hotel in the perfect location that is quiet, safe and a short stroll from everything in the city centre. Only gripe was in July (their winter) the room was initially cold as its a stone building, once we raised it a heater arrived up within a few minutes and within an hour the room was above 20c/68f. Cannot recommend this hotel enough, the finishes are superb including marble bathrooms and the rooms really spacious, the breakfast has great food and starts at 6am which is perfect for the various tours like Colca Canyon etc. Decent people.
Kevin K — Google review
It looks super nice in this old stone building close to the historical centre. Reception was super friendly and helpful and I loved the waiter at breakfast. Always in a good mood and attending to all extra wishes. Our room was pointing at a side street but close to bars and night clubs and due to no isolation in the windows it's been super loud at night and day. The hotel offers free coca tea but no water dispenser. Breakfast is plenty and features fresh juices and fruits. Rooms are spacious and beds comfy. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants, shops, bars, ATMs and historical sites.

Bert M — Google review
The location is fantastic and the rooms are alright, but too many things went wrong during my brief stay for me to recommend this hotel. I checked in at 3pm, three hours after check-in began. The person at the front desk was polite and quickly processed me and handed me a key, but when I got up to the room, the door was wide open, the bed sheets were still ruffled from the previous tenant, and there was garbage on the floor. The maid’s cart was out front so I decided to give it 15 minutes for it to be cleaned…..45 minutes later, absolutely no movement. I didn’t even see the cleaning lady around, just the cart. I asked the person at the front desk for a new room and it took 20 minutes for her to find me something that was actually clean. During this time, I heard two different people come to the front desk to say that their room smelled strongly of chemicals/paint and that it was making their head hurt. When I got to my second room, the only window to the outside was actually a door to a balcony that was shared with another room, meaning that if I wanted fresh air while I slept, some random people may wander in. The next morning, I had the maid wander into my room without knocking at 9am - three hours before check-out.

The hotel is in the center of Arequipa, near the Cathedral. The hotel looks quite nice. But in fact, as we found out, there are thieves in it. My wife and I stayed at this hotel from November 4 to 5, 2024 and were robbed. In front of the door to the hotel reception there is a small courtyard, which is surrounded by a lattice wall with a gate. The door to this courtyard is usually locked and can only be opened by a hotel employee who takes a call from people coming or going and sees who is passing through the door. In the morning of November 5, my wife and I visited the monastery of of Santa Catalina de Siena across the street. Back at the hotel, we were waiting for the car that was supposed to take us to the airport. When we entered the courtyard, I saw a man with a brown backpack sitting on a bench. We were sitting at a table a few meters from the front door. My black backpack was near the leg of the table at which we were sitting. I kept an eye on my backpack the whole time. A few minutes later, a strange woman came up to my wife and asked her something incomprehensible. Then the woman came up to me and started talking, getting my attention. We told her that we didn’t speak Spanish. Then the woman said a few words to the employee who was responsible for opening the doors. The door opened and I saw the man with a brown backpack on his back quickly walk out of the gate. A minute later, I realized that my backpack was missing. The hotel has a video camera that tracks any movement through the door. We asked the hotel manager to show us the video from the moment we entered the hotel courtyard. The video clearly shows us entering the door with our black backpack, and a few minutes later, a man with a brown backpack on his back and our black backpack in front walked out through the open door. The strange woman left the hotel right after him. This robbery took a few minutes and obviously was carried out by a professional team, including a hotel employee who opened the door twice for the scammer and the unknown woman to let them in and out of the hotel. No one from the hotel expressed regret or even apologized for the fact that we were robbed in their hotel. This hotel now has a very bad reputation, and we do not recommend staying there.

Sleeping in a slice of History Housed in a former monastery, the hotel offers a unique atmosphere with beautiful architecture that blends colonial elements with contemporary touches. The property is spacious, with elegant courtyards and well-maintained surroundings. The overall ambiance is peaceful and relaxing, making it a perfect base for exploring Arequipa’s historic center. While some areas show signs of age, the hotel generally offers good value for its price, offering a comfortable stay with a distinctive historical feel. LOCATION:The hotel is situated in a great spot, just a short walk away from Arequipa's main square and other key attractions like the Santa Catalina Monastery and the Yanahuara District. The location is ideal for those who want to explore the city on foot, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and cultural sites. While it’s centrally located, the area can get busy, so be prepared for occasional street noise, particularly during the daytime. DINE + DRINK: The breakfast was a very sad affair and certainly has a lot of room to improve! ROOM: We stayed in Room 411, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: Sweet view of the legendary volcanoes at a distance; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM:Good sized bathroom with a Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Good quality toiletries FACILITIES: No Gym or pool on site. SERVICE: Friendly staff that cared for all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! Small Smart TV dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment in multiple languages

This place was the old hotel for families to use when they visited their daughters at the monastery. It’s old but very nicely redone. Has a beautiful open air lounge and restaurant. The breakfast included I’m with the stay is incredible. A lot of choices, fresh fruit, hot options. The man at the breakfast service was very nice and welcoming and gave me a hug goodbye! He was also playing beautiful local style music at breakfast which made my day. The reception staff was also very helpful with storing my luggage and giving recommendations about local things for tourists to do.

Very close to town center. Convenient to walk. But there's no window view in the room. The windows open to a stairwell. The whole bathroom wall and door is glass with no shades. Very inconvenient for non-couples sharing the room.

Lack of enthusiasm from reception staff who did not want to show us the size of their cot (or bassinet) for our baby so that we could confirm our nights stay. Seemed lazy and can’t be bothered attitude towards potential guests. Somewhat unfriendly. Not recommended.

Great hotel located in the quiet part of downtown Arequipa. Staff is super friendly and professional. It’s clean and comfortable. It isn’t luxurious, but practical, safe and has great breakfasts! I do recommend this place!

The Tierra Viva Arequipa Plaza is a 4-star hotel located in the historic district of Peru's second largest city. It offers comfortable and relaxing stays, with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs in each room. Breakfast is provided. Mercaderes Street is 100 meters away.
Unfortunately, I have to revise my review. This time I did not have a good night sleep because of street noise or doors slamming at all hours. Additionally, the shower temperature was either cold or scalding hot - impossible to be comfortable. Also the water pressure was pitiful. The toilet paper has also gone down in quality. The service and cleaning was excellent but unfortunately the infrastructure of the hotel no longer measures up. Will not be staying here again. ——— Great hotel stay 4 years after my original stay. Excellent location and service. Comfy rooms with great hot water pressure. Every single staff was helpful and polite. My favorite hotel in Arequipa- will return!

This hotel was excellent. The high points were the well appointed rooms and especially the very friendly and attentive staff. Juan at the front desk is an outstanding host. The price was very affordable too. I would definitely come again.

If you want a 5-star service experience at a reasonable price, don't look anywhere else. The entire team at Tierra Viva in Arequipa (and Lima Miraflores) has been nothing but accommodating in taking care of little things, like storing our luggage when we were out of town AND bringing it upstairs without being asked, being greeted at the door, courtesy chocolates and fantastic (and included) breakfast service. The rooms are well appointed and quaint but stylishly furnished. People make the difference and the staff's kindness was remarkable. Cannot recommend enough!

TLDR: I would only stay here again if I knew I would have a room on the courtyard. And I probably still would stay elsewhere. The room we were given at check-in was facing the street. With the windows closed, the noise from cars/motorcycles rattling up the cobblestone street was very loud, with the window open we couldn’t have a conversation. We asked the front desk if there were rooms available not that were not street facing and there was one. This room had no windows and the bathroom smelled like sewage our entire stay. As long as the bathroom door was closed, the smell wouldn’t permeate into the room, but having to physically go into the bathroom was an unpleasant experience due to the ever present smell. Other than that, staff was pleasant, breakfast was good, and location is near many of the main sites in Arequipa.
Kasey F — Google review
Wonderful hotel right in the heart of the old city. Within walking distance of the main plaza and many things to see and do. Our room off the courtyard had a very comfortable bed and was neat and clean. You can open your windows for a nice breeze. Turn down service with a chocolate on your pillow is a nice touch. The hotel staff are all extremely friendly, polite and helpful. They arranged a delivery of dinner one night when we were exhausted. The included breakfast buffet had eggs, sausage, breads, fruit, fresh juices, coffee & tea was a nice way to start our day. There is laundry service available for a fee. I highly recommend this hotel. I do recommend you ask for a room off the courtyard as street side is a bit noisy with Peru's busy cars.

Located in the heart of Arequipa, Hampton by Hilton Arequipa is a top choice for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. The hotel offers a range of amenities including a restaurant, fitness center, and bar. Its proximity to popular attractions such as Arequipa Main Square and Santa Catalina de Siena Convent makes it an ideal base for exploring the city. Guests can also benefit from the 24-hour front desk and tour organizing services.
Very enjoyable stay at the Hampton by Hilton Arequipa! The rooms are clean, simple, and comfortable—nothing fancy, but just what we needed. The AC was a bit too strong and made the room colder than ideal, but everything else worked well. The gym is small but functional, and it’s nice that the hotel offers one. Breakfast was basic but had a good range, including some fresh salad, which was a nice touch. The best part by far was the staff. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, professional, and truly cared about our experience. They checked in often and made us feel welcome from start to finish. Thanks to the amazing team, this hotel really stood out on our trip to Arequipa. Highly recommended!

I had a fantastic experience at Hampton Arequipa. The rooms are modern and spotless, and the housekeeping team really does an amazing job. Breakfast was excellent every single day – fresh fruit, local flavors, and plenty of choices. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and the location near the city center is perfect for exploring. I couldn’t have asked for more.

We loved our stay here. It's really nothing else that we could think of that was missing or would have had differently. Super friendly professional staff, clean and comfortable rooms, wonderful atmosphere especially in the inner courtyard, close to the city center and great breakfast. If we ever come back to Arequipa, we're definitely staying here once again
Loredana D — Google review
Had an excellent one night stay here. The hotel is located in a beautiful historic building with a lobby, lounge bar and courtyard that feels very classy. Rooms were modern and spotlessly clean. A very good choice of items at breakfast - and none of the ‘fake’ powdered scrambled eggs you get in the H by H’s I’ve stayed at in the UK! They also kindly made me a to-go breakfast bag when I had a 0515 departure the next day. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located at the top of the compact historic centre, just a 5 minute walk to the main square. I’d definitely recommend to anyone visiting Arequipa
Elizabeth R — Google review
Overall a very good experience although a bit of room for improvement. The room was clean and large, and modern. Checking in and out was easy, and the property is beautiful. There were a few issues, including the separated sink from the rest of the bathroom (which makes the rest of the bathroom fairly cramped), a few breakfast items being lower quality (mostly the baked goods), and the water (at both breakfast and the exercise room) not being refilled 24 hours after telling the staff. These were fairly minor though and the location and quality otherwise made it a great stay.
Benhockey97 — Google review
Be aware before booking at this establishment! Things will get stolen from your rooms and managers will avoid you at all costs! The first day went perfect by day 3 and coming back from a tour I noticed my luggage was all messy and things were moved as I left it in an specific angle with things placed in a different. When confronting and speaking with front desk to please call manager that I would like to have a chat with him/her. Took a couple of minutes; front desk employee explained her in Spanish as he thought I didn’t speak the language. Had to clarify him what I had spoken to him earlier and was flabbergasted as they noticed I spoke Spanish. Never judge a book by its cover. I was told they will investigate with security as I was heading to another tour that evening. When I came back and asked for the manager, I was told she was out for the day. No manager at establishment. How convenient. I am sure if the day manager leaves there should be a night one in charge. They didn’t resolve anything. I will never stay in this establishment or any Hilton in Peru in the future.

My husband and I spent two weeks traveling throughout Peru, staying at several Hilton properties — and the Hampton Inn in Arequipa was by far our favorite. In fact, it may be the best Hampton Inn we’ve ever experienced. The hotel is a beautifully unique property and a short walk from the main square. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant and found it absolutely delicious. Breakfast also had a good variety of options. The staff were exceptionally attentive and welcoming. A special thanks to Alonso, who went above and beyond to ensure our Uber driver found us and stayed with us until we departed. His kindness and professionalism truly stood out.
Diana S — Google review
Arrived at the hotel on 8 September at 3.30PM. Two people checked us in, a man and a woman. I believe their names were Violeta and Cesar. It seemed like the Hilton staff here didn't know how to receive guests nor were they good in customer service. They were kind of rude. Hotel room was small. The shower had good pressure. Cleaning service was excellent though. Breakfast was OK.

The hotel is well located .but when i ask at the front desk what happened with the street in front of the hotel they told me is been destroyed by the city for 2 months already the dust and the holes make impossible to walk even the taxi left us one block away because there not road for cars. And they dont mention that issue when we reserved the place .

I stayed in this hotel back in May when I was attending a seminar and conference around in this area. It was quite a tiring and stressful couple of days for me so it was highly important to find a hotel which would not add anything negative to it. I can 100% assure, my stay in this hotel despite my anxious nature turned out quite comfortable. if there were even minor issues I found myself dissatisfied with, it would cloud my whole experience. This is why I am confidently saying I have no complaints to point out. The room was really clean and comfy. Terrace view would help me every evening to relieve stress and staff was also quite accommodating.

Rooms are quite small and have no windows except onto the hallway. The wooden floor was highly polished and as a result very slippery. The bathroom was renovated and very nice. The service was great. Staff was very helpful and supportive. The breakfast was delicious. Only downside to this hotel is the room temperature of the rooms with no outside window. (Also because of it being an older building we could hear noises from the street and hallway, but it was barely noticeable) Our window led to the inside courtyard which caused it to be very hot. There was a fan which helped a bit. The rooms were kept very clean and tidy.

It's not located in the center of the city but still within walking distance and convenient. We stayed on the second floor and we heard people's voices and some noises from the window but pretty quiet through the night. Clean linens, very comfy bed and pillows. Staff are kind and helpful. Big mistake; the room was ok and the bed and pillows were confy, but the noises in the whole hotel were too much to endure...from the dogs barking day and night to the banging of doors by the guests, and street noise. Breakfast is disaster; worse breakfast in my long journey through peru: No brewed coffee, only instant rubbish, fried eggs served in a cold plate, tiny little bowl of fruit salad, sad looking and tasteless small pieces of cheese, rancid butter and no sign of jam of any sort...not recommended

We stayed in about 4 hotels in Cusco and we loved this hotel the most in Arequipa where we stayed 4 nights. Clean, good vibes and good housekeeping too. Got a big room where there is a dining table and 2 chairs, as well as plenty of floor space to put our items. Great reception who always ask what time we will be having breakfast the next day or if we need packed breakfast to go (sandwich, oreo biscuits, packet drink and a fruit). Good safety/ security as the front door is always locked so you got to press the doorbell, but there's aways someone to open quickly.

Staff was very helpful recommending restaurants and places to go. Would recommend to anyone staying in Arequipa! Check out Mundo Alpaca close by too 🦙🦙

The room didn't have windows, just patio doors which once you open have no privacy whatsoever. It looked out towards the interior courtyard. Made the room really dark. Noise travels very easily especially since some guests leave early for their tours. We were woken up almost every morning by people dragging suitcases at 6am. The staff is great and go above and beyond. Breakfast is also nice with fresh fruit, juice, eggs cooked to order, ham, cheese, veggies, olives. A good selection of teas. The hotel is in a really nice area of Arequipa and close to a number of restaurants and cafes, saving you a trip to the plaza if you're tired. Cobblestone streets everywhere and what seems like a quiet neighborhood.

The Hotel Conquistador was built in the early 1800s and has been restored to its original splendour. It is located in the heart of Arequipa, close to all the important historic sites. The hotel offers a wide range of services, including a restaurant, bar and lounges. Each of its modern guest rooms features an array of facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
I loved my experience at this hotel, honestly it should be much higher than 3 stars. The staff is super friendly, they went above and beyond to find me an accommodation for early check in at 5am and when I left at 5am, they packed breakfast for me to bring it on the way. I stayed at Los Tambos Colonial in Arequipa as part of my trip through Peru. While checking out, I accidentally left my rain jacket and a book in the wardrobe of the hotel room. A few hours later, I called the hotel to ask about them. They told me they had found the book, but not the jacket. This was very disappointing, as I am 100% sure I left the jacket there. My travel companion also remembers this clearly. Unfortunately, it seems someone from the staff must have taken it. It’s really a shame to have this kind of experience in such a beautiful hotel. I hope the management takes this seriously and ensures that all lost items are handled with integrity in the future.

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The hotel is well-located, a quick walk away from the Plaza de Armas, but the interior is quiet and relaxing. The breakfast was varied and made to order each morning. The concierge programmed a tour to the Rutas de Sillar for the very next day at a reasonable cost. I would absolutely stay here again in the future.

Loved this hotel. The hospitality was perfect. The location was in perfect location. The old style building at the reception was really speaking of the colonial past of this city. The rooms themselves were of average size. The paintings on the walls were really good. The decor on the reception reminded me of the past something I wanted to experience in Arequipa. Highly recommended if you’re in this city. They even provided with box breakfast at four in the morning, which was something new for us on our two weeks trip all across peru.

We loved the Los Tambos Colonial hotel, situated in an old, traditional building! They offered us an early check-in and even a change of rooms. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the location on one of the shopping streets is perfect for exploring the city. The breakfast at the inner patio was the best, try the quinoa pancakes 🥞

Hotel Los Tambos Boutique in Arequipa is a charming hotel with a rooftop terrace and a cozy lounge featuring a fireplace. Centrally located, it's just minutes away from popular attractions like Patio del Ekeko and Museo de Arte Virreinal de Santa Teresa. The hotel offers spa services and complimentary Wi-Fi, as well as a coffee shop/cafe for dining.
I would like to thank Fiorela, the hotel manager who went well beyond her duty to accommodate us and make our stay pleasant at the hotel. Due to a problem in the original room that was allocated to us she made sure to take us to the another hotel which is a part of the Los Tambos to make our stay more comfortable and pleasant. We were also touched by her gesture to come to the hotel the day our departure early in the morning to find out how was our stay and to wish us well for the rest of our trip. We were impressed with her ability to quickly address our needs and concerns. She made our stay in Arequipa a true delight. We look forward to returning some time I the near future in Arequipa and would love to stay again at Los Tambos Boutique Hotel.

Honestly it is hard to understand how someone could leave a bad review of this hotel. The location is one of the best in the city and the staff is incredibly attentive. We arrived at 4am and someone was waiting for us and got us our room right away. We were leaving for a 2 day trek in the Colca Canyon and they prepared a breakfast for us and kept our bags free of charge. Truly nothing bad to say + they have a nice rooftop

We loved this hotel! Steps away from Plaza des Armas, well-equipped, and very clean rooms, we’d stay here again in a heartbeat. The bed was large and super comfy and the shower was great. The staff were all were genuine and helpful and the breakfast was filling (you have a choice from multiple options). We arrived at 5am, and for a small fee, they let us use a room to take showers and naps until our room was ready. We would have been stuck wandering Arequipa otherwise. We also left at 5am so they made us a packed breakfast to go, taking into consideration my dietary restrictions. I highly recommend Los Tambos.

The staff of Los Tambos went out of their way so many times to be accommodating to us. The location and amenities are great- but the service really set this hotel apart! We arrived at 6AM, but didn’t have a checkin time until 2pm. They moved all of the reservations around to get us in a room at 9AM, without our asking. It was so kind. The front desk also helped us compile our paperwork for our Bolivia visas, which they didn’t have to do. Would highly recommend.

Their customer service is excellent, the rooms are cozy and have everything you need, the breakfast is EXCELLENT and the breakfast staff is so accommodating, the housekeeping does a great job! The location is PERFECT! Close to everything! I really can’t say enough positive about this boutique!!! Definitely would stay here again & again!!!

Very nice hotel rooms clean has all amenities bathroom very modern. It would be nice to have a full length mirror in the bedroom rather than have to go to the washroom all the time. One negative point my room was facing the road and there were a couple of people partying till 1am so it was difficult to get sleep the breakfast was nice

A really great hotel in a pretty central location. Whilst our room didn’t have windows with any view, the room was comfortable, and the building as a whole well decorated, with somewhere to park. Breakfast was ok, but not exceptional which with the room view is why it doesn’t get 5/5. But overall, great!

The Vita Hoteles Arequipa is located in the heart of Arequipa, 700 metres from the Policlinico Metropolitano. The hotel offers a restaurant and bar as well as a garden for guests' comfort. Front desk and room service are available 24 hours a day.
Perfect location for a visit to Arequipa. The rooms are small/no frills, but the hotel is perfectly situated for a visit to all the sights in Arequipa. They even offer luggage storage if you’re visiting Colca. The staff is super politely and helpful. The shower was hot and with great water pressure. They have early check in and late check out for a fee. Breakfast was satisfactory.

Very poor communication and customer service. Room wasn't very clean, dust everywhere, hairs in the bed. I personally won't stay again.
David G — Google review
The hotel is at a nice location in the heart of arequipa. But the good location comes with some downsides to it. The room looked clean but if u did a closer look it wasn't. All of the sockets didn't work and the room was freezing. After we went out and came back to the hotel in the night we asked for some water and the lady at the reception gave us some. All was good until the next day. We wanted to leave but they told us we still have a bill to pay. It was the water. They charged us 6 soles per bottle for it. In addition the breakfast was really bad. The coffee was more water than coffee and the eggs were cold. The fruits were good.
Patrick S — Google review
Would put the hotel closer to a 2 star than 3, but the location is good for the price. Rooms are HOT and the response from the staff is “open the windows”, but our window was right by the restaurant kitchen and was super noisy. We had a fan, which helped a bit, but every outlet in the room was so loose it was hard to plug anything in. If you are planning on doing colca canyon, or need to store your luggage with anything valuable in it, I’d bring it elsewhere because their “luggage storage” is just in the lobby area in a corner.
Dana G — Google review
We asked for a quiet room, but in the early morning the music, cleaning and maintenance starts (6 am), so sleeping in is impossible. The walls are thin… The bed itself is very comfy. Shower takes a while before it’s hot, but then it’s comfy and stays hot. The staff asks 3 times a day in which room you are in, which doesn’t make you feel welcome. Early check-in (1 hour earlier) while the room is already available would have cost an additional $25.
Natalie K — Google review
Fantastic location, walking distance to beautiful historical buildings. The hotel is modern and stylish with an elevator, and the breakfast had a pretty good assortment. The fourth floor has both hotel rooms and a rooftop restaurant. Our room was very nicely outfitted and included a safe, though there was no ventilation other than opening the window to the noise of the city, and towels were threadbare. Wish they would use refillable soap and shampoo rather than single-use plastics. Staff were very responsive and helpful. Breakfast buffet had a good selection.
Munro S — Google review
I don’t know who left the great reviews, but coming to this hotel made me realize that they are probably all bots and made-up. We got to Arequipa around 10:30PM and were placed in a room that had clumps of hair on the floor and unwashed sheets. We changed rooms to one with less hair but still dirt on the floor, unwashed sheets, and to top it all off - it was freezing. The rooms have no temperature control and Arequipa drops below 45 degrees Fahrenheit at night. We thought we’d be able to take a hot shower and go to sleep, but there was no hot water, either. We ended up switching hotels at midnight in an unfamiliar city. The only redeeming quality about this hotel is that they gave us a refund without a fight. Besides that, it is dirty, freezing, and extremely unpleasant. Please book elsewhere.
Elizabeth Z — Google review
Had a horrible experience here. Apparently there is a pizzeria next door that will blast loud music until 2 am. My room was right next to it and i could hear everything. When i asked for a room changed they lied and said they had no other rooms available. After i called back and told them there are rooms available online they backtracked and then offered me a new room that was still noisy but at least I could still go to sleep. Very disappointed with my night here.

Acolpacha Tambo Boutique is a charming hotel located in the historic center of Arequipa, Peru. Housed in an 18th-century colonial mansion, this elegant hotel offers warm and spacious rooms, a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the town and nearby volcano Misti, and a delicious breakfast served in a picturesque area. The hotel's convenient location allows easy access to popular attractions such as Yanahuara Church, Santa Catalina Monastery, Casa Moral, and more.
Great hotel a bit off the beaten path in Arequipa. A beautiful old building that is well renovated and offers all modern amenities. The breakfasts are delicious and are served on the terrace to beautiful views of the city and surrounding mountains. Very friendly staff as well. It’s not too far from the main square in Arequipa, but far enough that it’s not entirely ideal. Other than that, a great hotel!

Very pleased with our stay in Arequipa considering the affordable price! The rooms were unique, very rustic and artisan. Slight odor from the building being very old but that could be the case in most hotels there, it was still very tidy, comfortable and bathrooms were nicely updated. The courtyard and patio were extremely cute, my partner did a photoshoot there! The breakfast was superb, everything was made fresh to order. They even prepared a travel breakfast bag for our very early check out. The in-house restaurant was also superb. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location felt safe and it was less than 10 minutes walking to Plaza Des Armas.

Really disappointed, this place was fine until they charged us for breakfast they previously indicated was free. Would not recommend for the price I think Arequipa has other places you will find better to stay in.

Beautiful rooms but constantly woken up in the morning by people using the hotel doorbell. They are also very sneaky here and lied to us about breakfast being included. What could have been a great stay became a disappointment because of these two things. I wish they could have been more accomodating.
Daniel M — Google review
We are currently staying at this hotel and are so glad that we chose it. The style of the hotel is in keeping with the beautiful main square and is made with the same materials. It’s in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the main square. Our room has a huge, comfortable bed and the shower has worked perfectly. A special mention has to be made about the staff who are the most helpful hotel staff we have ever had on our travels. Juan in particular went out of his way to do everything he could when we arrived at the hotel suffering from upset stomach’s. They speak perfect English too which is a relief. Breakfast is the best we’ve had in Peru so far. Highly recommended
Terrie M — Google review
Great rooms and service however the hotel has a major issue. There is constant noise from the street in the rooms, almost 24/7. We haven’t seen this mentioned in other reviews and were very surprised when we arrived. Even with earplugs during the night we could hear cars; the isolation is very poor. At this price point this is a deal breaker for me and I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re looking for a relaxing stay. Having said that, everything else was very good during our stay.
N — Google review
Everyone was incredibly nice, helpful, and friendly. Service was spectacular. We stayed at the King suite with Terrace. It had a nice view of the Misti and cute little terrace. The room was updated and bathroom with an amazing shower and great water pressure. Breakfast was also very nice and complete with fresh juices, eggs, fruit, freshly baked bread, Avocado, pancakes, etc. The area for us was good, it was close to the main plaza without being right on it, which we prefer.

Palacio Guaqui is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re immersed in a world of elegance, authenticity, and understated luxury. The ambiance is breathtaking — every corner is beautifully designed with impeccable attention to detail, blending historical charm with modern comfort. But what truly sets this place apart is the extraordinary staff and manager. Their kindness and professionalism added a personal touch to our stay that we will never forget. Thank you so much!!

Do not hesitate to book. Highly recommend!

Palacio Guaqui is an absolutely gorgeous property. The restoration was so tastefully completed while preserving the architectural details that remind us that we are in a 19th c. mansion. When you step through the very discreet doors, you enter into an oasis of calm, doves and all. Cesar and the entire staff contributes to this calmness by being so attentive and welcoming. We never had to ask for anything because Cesar was always anticipating our needs from breakfast on our private patio to dinner recommendations and reservations. It is a truly special place!

The architecture is stunning: a refined blend of heritage, natural materials, and elegance. But what truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. César Torres, is one of the most generous, thoughtful hosts we’ve ever encountered. He helped us shape our journey with curated recommendations and even arranged special moments that made our time in Peru unforgettable. His warmth, knowledge, and personal network go far beyond expectations.
David L — Google review
We chose this location to end our two- week trip to Peru. We took the Andean Explorer to Arequipa, and Cesar reached out two days prior to confirm our room and check to see if we needed transportation to the hotel. He was there upon arrival to escort us to our room and there every day when we woke for breakfast. The hotel was a complete retreat from the busy streets of Arequipa. We had a garden view room, and we spent our first night on the porch with the quiet sounds of the garden and nearby fountain in a state of total relaxation. The room was gorgeous, and so are the courtyards where rooms are located. It’s like being in a gorgeous, quiet bubble in the heart of Arequipa. Just a couple of minutes walk to the monastery and amazing restaurants. The real key to this place is the charm of Cesar and his staff. They allowed us a late checkout for a very late flight, and they took care of us right up until we left—above and beyond. A fantastic tranquil way to end a wonderful trip.

Amazing place to stay: contemporary, artistic and intimate. From the minute we arrived we were met by the wonderful César who personally welcomed us and gave us a tour of the property which is beautifully done and unique to every room. The food (both dinner which we had both nights, and the breakfast) were wonderful, and I was even brought tea and cake to my room whilst I worked at the hotel. We couldn’t recommend Palacio Guaqui highly enough. A must stay in Arequipa.

AM is located on 526 Calle Rivero, although it may be incorrectly placed on Google Maps. Despite this, guests have enjoyed their stay at the hotel, particularly praising the buffet breakfast and comfortable rooms. Some guests found the exchange rate for payments to be a bit high when paying in soles instead of dollars. The pleasant garden was noted, but some found the swimming pool to be very cold.

(Translated by Google) Great hotel! The room was clean and spacious, hot water for the shower, an impeccable welcome from each guest. Close to everything. Pleasant stay! (Original) Super hôtel! La chambre était propre et spacieuse, de l’eau chaude pour la douche, un accueil irréprochable avec chaque hôte. À proximité de tout. Agréable séjour!

(Translated by Google) The hotel is poorly located on Google Maps; it's on the street right next to it (526 Calle Rivero). I'm surprised by the previous reviews. We spent 5 nights at this hotel and were very satisfied! Especially with the breakfast buffet. The room was as pictured. We paid the indicated price (genius discount), although the exchange rate seemed a bit high (price in dollars, paid in soles). The garden is pleasant, although the pool seemed very cold. There are two young alpacas in the garden who are very cute and approach people. Unfortunately, they are mostly confined in a very small asphalt enclosure with no grass. (We asked if they could let them out while we were in the garden.)

(Translated by Google) The worst of Arequipa. They offer you a room with nice photos at a certain price, when you arrive they want to charge you an extra "commission" and also, the room was completely different from the one shown in the images. It's a real fraud, there are better places. The worst of Arequipa. (Translated by Google) Terrible service. I made a reservation with fixed prices. Upon arrival, they weren't even aware of the approved requests. I had to pay several additional fees that were approved in the requests. Misleading advertising; I'll report this to Indecopi as well. There was no coordination between the staff and management. I had to leave the hotel due to the terrible service. They were already asking me for my payment method and to make the deposit before arriving at the hotel. How shameless!

(Translated by Google) The rooms were very small, you couldn't even open the closet doors, and what's more, the rooms were clean, the pool was dirty, and the pets weren't looked after and were kept locked up. (Original) Las habitaciones muy pequeñas no se podia ni abrir la puerta de los roperos y ni que hablar con la limpieza de las habitaciones, la piscina sucia y las mascotas que tienen no las cuidan y las tienen encerradas.
