Hotel
Dazzler by Wyndham Asunción is a sophisticated accommodation option that boasts a rooftop terrace featuring a trendy bar and a refreshing pool, making it an ideal spot to unwind. Guests can also enjoy complimentary breakfast during their stay. Situated in an area teeming with new hotels and corporate towers, this hotel has become the preferred choice for artists and athletes.
Definitely recommend! This is a modern hotel with fast WiFi and a staff that speaks some English. My room's AC barely worked, and the staff couldn't fix it. Rooms at the back of the hotel are quiet. I loved the rooftop pool and the well-equipped, though small, gym.
Eldar — Google review
Probably the worst experience i’ve had with a “5 star” Hotel. Booked a suite and was not informed that the entire pool and bar area were reserved for the evening and night and would not be accessible. I feel like i have over paid for services that severely under delivered. INFORM your guest of this or offer them a discount. Besides this, the bathtub was missing a stopper and had to request it multiple times to receive one. The mini fridge had a single beer in it. Parking is extra. I could go on. Its a beautiful Hotel but this lack of information and poor service should not happen in this price range.
Angela T — Google review
The ambiance of this restaurant is undeniably charming—beautiful decor, comfortable seating, and a cozy atmosphere. However, the service left much to be desired.😐 From the start, waiting times were excessive. Despite a reservation, we had to wait quite a while to be attended and even to pay. They brought bread and breadsticks for a table of ten, which felt quite limited. When I politely asked for more, they initially agreed, only to return 15 minutes later 🙄saying there would be an extra charge. That lack of clarity was frustrating. As for the food, the steak was absolutely delicious—cooked to perfection and full of flavor. However, the orange juice was overly sweet🙊 If they improve their customer service, this could be a top-tier spot.💗
Ale N — Google review
Over a 10 day stay I could say the staffing is excellent in customer service! Room service quick, clean rooms, front desk handled my questions and that of many others attending the same event I attended. I found the breakfast buffet table to be disappointing and at times lacked cleanliness. The hotel seems to be well situated for business and less family travel as it’s on a heavy trafficked road across from Mall de Sol. The restaurant provided good meals and the host (Andres I believe) was outstanding.
Malikeh E — Google review
Rooms has what you need. They are quick to solve any challenges. Food was really good and the building always kept pretty secure.
Donovan B — Google review
The facilities and breakfast were below expectations for the price paid. The internet service, especially in the rooms, was very poor. The team were kind.
Hazem B — Google review
We stayed for 2 nights. The room was quite big (triple). The bathroom had a bath, quite big in size. Free tea/coffee + kettle, fridge. Nice to have tea. Work desk in the room Restaurant personnel is friendly enough once you go few times. The restaurant is award winning parilla place. The awards are displayed in the corner. The gym is on the roof. Well equipped. Didn't use the pool as it was cold, but it looked clean and well-maintained. The only downside, in the evening at the lobby there are many people from the outside coming and going to the sports bar, rooftop bar. A weird place to be with children.
Irena S — Google review
A very nicely located hotel in central Asunción with attentive, professional and respectful staff. Has a small breakfast and lunch restaurant on the first floor with basic items. A great dinner and restaurant place (Negroni) on the top floor with a gorgeous view of the city. Perfect for a short stop in the city for business of pleasure.

Excellent service from the receptionist at the front desk (sadly can’t remember her name). She is always friendly, accommodating and fluent in english. They treat my dog like he is part of the family and it makes the stay so comfortable for us! Highly recommend, one of the best pet friendly hotels I've stayed in!

This was an excellent hotel. Clean, modern and friendly. The room was spacious and well equipped. The breakfast was a delight. Plenty to chose from. The pastries were particularly lovely. The pop great, but what was best were the staff. Smiling door men, very helpful deck staff who organised a tour for me at an hours notice, didn’t frown when I couldn’t get my safe open an even helped me with my internet connection. Even the support staff smiled and said hello. Top marks everyone
Maria B — Google review
We had a very good time at the hotel. The rooms were spacious and included a mini fridge, air-conditioner, a smart TV, a rain shower with bathtub and a bidet. The view from the 12th floor was incredible! The staff was also polite and very kind and helpful. The hotel offers a swimming pool om the 15th floor. There is also a sauna, a mini gym and a wellness centre available. The wellness centre can be used against a fee, but we can really recommend having a massage there! The breakfast was good, but it feels like some of the food items are reused the next day, as some of it tasted a bit less fresh as the day before. The only negative thing we experienced was that the curtains were stained, and there was black mould in the bathroom, that is something you don't expect from a 4 star hotel. However, other than that our stay was excellent ans we had a very good time and were fully relaxed during our stay. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and we will 100% come back!
Cloneboy28 — Google review
The furniture is old, the closet does not close, so it has to be blocked with bags, and the seams on the floor are raised. The bathroom sink is not bowl-shaped, so the water splashes your clothes when you use it. And unlike nearby hotels, this hotel does not have a smart TV. Although it is located on the main street, there is little noise and it seems to be well soundproofed from the room next door.
Marcello A — Google review
Poor service compared to the price we pay. Today I got mistreated from a person in the front desk named Araceli Velázquez I strongly suggest the people in the hotel to train their employees or hire the ones with not a bad actitud

Hotel
Resort Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo is an upscale resort located in Lambare, offering elegant rooms and a range of sports facilities. The hotel boasts multiple bars and restaurants, providing guests with exquisite dining experiences. With stunning views of the Rio Paraguay, the resort offers a romantic setting for couples to enjoy a special dinner experience. Leisure options include an 18-hole golf course, wellness spa, outdoor pool, and more.
Course was in well laid out and in very condition, however there was a lot of plastic rubbish in all the water traps. Pretty bad really. They need clean it.

Jorge K — Google review
The hotel is currently doing a large renovation and the reason I only gave it 4 stars. Service was excellent. The employees are top notch. The resort has been here for years, but just recently added to the Marriott portfolio which is why I finally stayed here.
Andy E — Google review
I recently stayed at the Yacht y Golf Club Hotel in Paraguay, located by the river. Unfortunately, my experience was quite mediocre. While the riverside location is nice, the hotel itself leaves much to be desired. The rooms were not particularly clean, and the furnishings felt outdated. The service was also disappointing – the staff was often unfriendly and unhelpful. The food at the hotel restaurant was mediocre at best. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay.
Fidelis S — Google review
Resort Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo: A Unique Paraguayan Experience The Resort Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo offers a captivating blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. This expansive property, situated on the banks of the Paraguay River, is a standout in Asunción's hospitality landscape. While its grandeur and extensive facilities warrant a 5-star classification, the resort's character is more akin to a 4-star experience. Be prepared for a distinct departure from European luxury standards. This is a tropical oasis with a rich history, where time seems to move at a leisurely pace. While some areas have been thoughtfully renovated, the property's overall ambiance is undeniably nostalgic. Rooms are large, airy and comfortable and restaurants are up to par even a Casino on the premises, also Golf shop and a nice field are available as well as limited nautical activities at the river pier. It's essential to note that the resort often hosts large-scale events, which can significantly impact the atmosphere. For some, the vibrant energy of these occasions may be enticing, while others may prefer a quieter ambiance. The location, though removed from the city center, offers tranquility and breathtaking river views. Given Asunción’s limited luxury options, the Resort Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo remains a compelling choice for discerning travelers. Expect a comfortable stay infused with local flavor. Immerse yourself in Paraguayan culture by indulging in the resort's culinary offerings, attending a live event, or simply basking in the tropical surroundings. In summary, the Resort Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo is a fascinating destination for those seeking an authentic Paraguayan experience. Its unique character, coupled with its impressive facilities, makes it a memorable choice for a short stay. Tip: Check the resort's event calendar before booking to ensure it aligns with your desired vacation experience.

Great place to relax on weekends. I stayed in Asuncion for 2 months in 2023. And I came here every weekend to relax. It’s by the border. Standing on a river bank. Not crowded. Quiet and relaxing on the top floor.
Tommy — Google review
Advantages: This place has numerous advantages. Firstly, it boasts a vast and serene area with minimal guests, especially during low season, making it an ideal spot for bird watching and relaxation by the river. The air is refreshing, and the atmosphere is peaceful and tranquil. Additionally, they offer a delightful breakfast, accompanied by a very pleasant and attentive staff. The rooms are generally very nice, especially those with a view of the river. Moreover, there are two large swimming pools for guests to enjoy. The TV also provides access to a few foreign channels, including French, German, and some in English. Lastly, the wifi is reliable and convenient. Disadvantages: However, there are some downsides to consider. Firstly, the hotel lacks proper communication and responsiveness. Despite attempting to reach out to them through various means, they failed to reply, indicating possible management issues. Secondly, many advertised amenities, such as kayaking, jacuzzi, billiards, and table tennis, were not available during our stay. The staff also denied the possibility of boat rides, despite contradictory information in their brochures. The recreational facilities, like the ping-pong table and billiard, were in poor condition. The overall maintenance of the property seemed inadequate, with the majority of the area requiring substantial renovation. The rooms displayed signs of wear and tear, with wallpaper peeling off and lacking essential items like bathrobes and bedside sockets. The minibar prices were also unreasonably high. Furthermore, the surroundings were hazardous, with broken glass bottles near the swimming and jacuzzi area, poorly maintained swimming pool facilities, and an unsafe playground for children, despite the children's room being well-managed. The hotel's value for money is questionable, as it falls short of its claims and appears outdated. While it might have been acceptable in the early 2000s, the current pricing is unjustified. The hotel should offer significant discounts given the multitude of unavailable services. The check-in process was also confusing, as there was limited English-speaking staff available due to apparent understaffing issues. All in all, the hotel deserves a rating of two stars, not five. Only with a substantial discount would we consider returning, given the exorbitant prices and the unavailability of many services advertised on booking.

Located in the privileged setting of Icua Sati, Avenida Aviadores del Chaco 2066, Sheraton Asuncion Hotel offers upscale rooms and suites with a range of amenities including a free breakfast buffet, gym, rooftop bar, spa/wellness packages, swimming pool, massage services and sauna. The hotel also hosts special events such as Valentine's Day dinner with an open bar and DJ entertainment.
I recently had the pleasure of attending an event at this expansive event hall, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! The venue comfortably accommodates up to 450 guests with tables, making it perfect for large gatherings. The lighting was exceptional, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhanced the overall experience. One of the standout features of this hall is its impressive sound of the hall, which ensured that every word spoken and every note played was crystal clear without echoing. It truly elevated the event, allowing everyone to fully engage with the program. Additionally, the layout of the hall is thoughtfully designed, with space around it for socializing and dining. Guests could easily mingle and enjoy refreshments. This flexibility made the event feel even more special. Overall, I highly recommend this event hall for anyone looking to host a memorable occasion. Its spaciousness, excellent lighting and sound quality, along with inviting social areas, make it a top choice for any large gathering!

The Sheraton Asunción is in a great location for exploring the “new city,” with easy access to the major shopping malls, restaurants, and business district. It’s a convenient base whether you’re here for work or leisure. The staff really stands out — consistently friendly, attentive, and professional, making the stay feel welcoming. Rooms are comfortable and in line with international Sheraton standards. Situated right next to two modern malls, La galleria and del Sol (and of course not to forget the ubiquitous pharmacies(!) Highlights include the rooftop pool and bar, offering sweeping views over Asunción — a perfect spot to unwind. The restaurant downstairs serves a generous breakfast buffet with plenty of variety, while the club lounge adds another layer of comfort for those with access. Ask for a higher-floor room for the best city views and make time for a sunset drink on the rooftop.

I made a reservation on December 1st, 2024. The hotel cancelled my reservation on December 10th, due to renovations. I was offered to switch hotels for a daily rate of $80.00 + 10% tax. But because I used points, it would’ve cost me more money. The hotel should’ve honored my reservation or arranged a hotel free of charge. The didn’t honored the Bonvoy Elite Reservation Guarantee and left me scrambling to find a hotel last minute. I will never make a reservation with this property again.
Frederico H — Google review
Nice from the outside but old, partially worn out inside. Imagine paying 200$ a night and the pool bar only opens at 5, in the lobby listless waiters run away when they see a client. By far too expensive for a hotel that should cost around 70$ . It’s like a 2.5 star place hyped up by unknowing locals . Looks exactly like when I stayed here in 2005. They literally changed nothing but the TV and hopefully the bed sheets in 20 years . Sledgehammer noise in the lobby the whole day. This place is a joke , and an expensive one. Awful Marriott Ambassador Elite recognition. Well, practically none. The cramped club lounge near the closed pool bar is small and a joke. Fortunately I could cancel 7 of my 8 nights. I won’t ever come back . Overpriced, Overrated and just a sad example of how a Sheraton should not be.
JC C — Google review
Great hotel, amazing staff, very comfortable rooms and very conveniently located between 2 shopping malls with dozens of restaurants and shops. The gym is small though, so is the pool so dont bother to pack for them. Service is exceptional!
T K — Google review
Very good stay overall. The location is great, the staff is universally superb, the rooftop pool is fantastic, and the breakfast and bar facilities were top notch. The level of upkeep in the guest rooms is an area where they could stand to devote some attention; for example, you can get faint whiffs of smoking having been allowed in the past, recessed lighting is hanging out of its recess, and grout lines in the shower haven't been cleaned for many moons. But the rooms are plenty spacious, bed was very comfortable and clean, and the air conditioning and wifi were highly reliable. I'd stay here again.

The Gran Bourbon Asunción Hotel offers upscale rooms and suites, providing a polished and luxurious experience for guests. The hotel features a rooftop terrace with a pool, hot tub, and bar, perfect for relaxation and enjoying the city views. Guests have praised the cordial staff and highlighted the complete gift store as well as the delicious breakfast and restaurant offerings. While it's not centrally located in Asunción, renting a car is recommended for exploring the city due to expensive Uber rides.
I had fish, pasta and some vegetables, everything was amazing. Service was impecable! The kids were enjoying live music, there was a harp musician playing paraguayan music.
Ale N — Google review
The hotel is great, but at least the room I stayed in, 133, had a lot of constant noise that I believe was from the bank of air conditioning systems located right outside. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I speak English and a little Spanish, but it really helps you if you are fluent in Spanish. Some of the staff speak only Spanish and Guarani. This hotel is right next to the Soccer museum.

This hotel is well located with great business standards. The rooms are spacious, clean and with good amenities. The breakfast is generous and tasty. Pool is awesome and so is the gym. Hotel Westfalenhaus, situated in the Miraflores neighborhood of Trinidad in Asuncion, offers spacious and rustic accommodations suitable for families. The hotel provides various inviting spaces for family gatherings, although some room furniture is impractical and requires maintenance. Additionally, there were issues with the shower in one of the rooms. On a positive note, the reception team was friendly and helpful. The resort features luxury suite accommodations and a spa offering indulgent massages.
What a wonderful place.. I had a late flight in and did not arrive till near midnight.. Staff got me checked in and in room in short time, after I parked my rental.. Place was so pretty at night I had to stay up a bit later to film it and take some pictures.. This morning I got up had a good breakfast.. (hint- try the bread and apple and strawberry spreads. It's great) After breakfast a shower then off to spend 2 days at Iguazu falls that is only 6 hours drive away.. I have already booked a return to this hotel before my flight out of the city.. Hopefully then I can explore more all this place has to offer.. Update.. I came back before my flight back out.. different room still nice.. food still great had a dinner at night.. was a perfect steak. And this morning I flew my drone to show the location of the area.. Such a beautiful Hotel..

Hotel Westfarlenhous is not at all what I thought. It is my first time in Paraguay, when we got picked up by the hotel shuttle and got to the hotel, well from outside it didn't look that great but once I got to the lobby wow, the host was so lovely and helpful. Also they speak English. The room and the whole place looks like a resort. The rooms are classy and comfortable, walking distance to the malls and great restaurants. I really loved this place just to relax. There is nothing much to do, paraguay is not a really tourist place, but enough to keep us busy for 3 days. I definitely coming back to Paraguay, and staying here. All the staff are amazing and the meals at Westfarlenhous are amazing. Thank you so much for looking after us! Kind Regards Jasween Gill

Grandiose interior and spacious elegant rooms. Some little things not done right like no coffee maker ( which seems to be the case in South America generally) or tissue box. (Translated by Google) Large rooms and facilities, with very comfortable beds. I felt like I was in a period film. Everything was very clean, I went with my family. The service at the reception and the other staff were so good, I can't say enough. Close to bars and restaurants, you can do everything on foot 👣. A luxury. Now, if you have allergic rhinitis, be careful, it's all on the carpet and for some people it might not be so nice. I loved the experience 😃 and so did the whole family... Excellent service from the waiting staff but the management leave a lot to be desired! They lost a 2 week 2 room reservation due to a stupid attitude!!!

Tried to go there to check out the room before making a booking but the entrance was completely sealed off. The guard did not let me enter even after I explained my purpose and said I need to call to make an appointment before doing so. Very strange and unfortunate, as I was thinking of staying here and subsequently making a recommendation to my company to negotiate a corporate rate. I’ve been to hotels all around the region/world and never had a similar experience. A staff member who looked like the hotel manager saw the guard turn me away and did not say anything. Given the unfriendly reception, I will not be back.

(Translated by Google) I felt at home. The room was perfect. Spacious, the bed and shower were wonderful. The hotel was an old factory, the building has been there for 100 years, and everything is perfectly preserved. The hotel is always quiet, really for those who want to rest. Marina, Alexia, Hugo are very attentive, as is the manager Liliana. The lounge is luxurious, in fact, all of it with relic furniture, works of art and decoration. Breakfast is served with great care in the lounge. There is no restaurant, but the Mariscal shopping mall is 3 blocks away for food. They have partner restaurants, where you can order cheese or dinner and the hotel provides you with plates and glasses wherever you want. Just one "observation" that we were not told: a fee is charged for your convenience when they make the order and add this at checkout. Other than that, I recommend this "immersion" in a space of luxurious antiques and good taste. (Original) Me senti em casa. O quarto perfeito. Espaçoso, cama e chuveiro maravilhosos. This is about the restaurant inside La Mision. The hotel from outside looks great and is easily accessible within Villa Mora. Rooms and the pool look nice on the website. I live nearby and come for lunch sometimes. The menu is good and extensive and there is buffet service as well. The service is good, attantive, although it could be faster. The food is top quality.

We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago. I go to Paraguay every year to visit family and friends. When I travel with my family we tend to stay at La factoría hotel. When I go alone I stay at The Hub. This year I wanted to give la Misión another try but I had to cancel my 2 reservations before even check in! I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Hotel La Misión reservation personnel. The communication with the hotel was poor from the start. I reached out to ask for details and clarifications about the booking, and I received very delayed responses. I felt like my business was not valued at all. It got worse when they offered me a much higher price per day in compared to what the online booking was ??? What? Given the lack of professionalism and poor customer service, I decided to cancel both reservations. I made new ones down the block at The Hub. What a shame. I really wanted to give them a try and have a fresh experience in order to consider them for my future travel plans. Sad.

We had the privilege of staying at this hotel for an entire month during the Junior Panamerican Games with our staff, and it was truly an outstanding experience. The quality of the rooms, the service, the food, and above all, the people, exceeded our expectations. The staff were professional, attentive, and went above and beyond to take care of us throughout our stay. The hotel’s location, right across from a mall gave us access to everything we could possibly need, making our time there even more enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and would be delighted to return in the future!

We spent five weeks at La Mision, and it was great. The people were nice and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional. The room was comfortable. The location was fantastic - across the street from the mall (with many restaurants), close to a supermarket, many cafes, etc. I never spent such a long time in a hotel before, so I'm very happy with my experience at La Mision.

Great location service and professional and welcoming staff, ideal for a couple or for business, it feels being away from earth in a totally different atmosphere, only point to improve is that the rooms are a bit noisy and we can hear people in the corridors, beaakfast is very well served on trays and very generous with eggs ham cheese bread fresh juices etc....

The place looks elegant but the actual experience is difficult and even hard at times. I don't recommend the restaurant for breakfast. Ingredients are low quality compared to two years ago. Low quality eggs, cheap yogurt, bad quality granola, cheap fruit juice. And the waiters treat customers like buddies in a chiringuito. The "swimming" pool is tiny and not treated.

Hotel Factoria is a truly enchanting destination that seamlessly blends bohemian charm with a unique style. Converted from an old factory, this hotel preserves its authenticity, transporting guests to a whimsical world reminiscent of Hogwarts from Harry Potter. The atmosphere is both memorable and distinctive, making every moment spent here feel extraordinary, if. you're looking for a one-of-a-kind experience.

I can’t say enough about this hotel. It’s like staying in a big house and getting great service from a very friendly staff. The garden is serene and lush and the rooms are huge and comfortable. I have stayed in this hotel 3-4 times and every time I have enjoyed it very much. The library also gives me the opportunity to meet with friends and relatives in a cozy, comfortable setting. When I entertain larger parties, there’s the red room, very private and can take care up to around 30 people.

The breakfast was delicious, the room clean and spacious, and the staff were so kind and helpful. They went out of their way to help us many times and we are so grateful for their hospitality. The hotel is beautiful to walk around and has so many calming places to relax from the poolside to the library. It is one of the most unique and memorable hotels we have ever stayed at and we’ve already recommended it to friends looking to come to Paraguay.

My apartment is only three blocks from this place and I have seen it on my walks. It was going to be a very hot weekend and they have a pool. So I booked. It was fabulous there. Top notch service! Everyone spoke perfect English which I did not expect and greatly appreciated. The included breakfast is one of the best I have encountered on my travels. My favorte part though was the pool. The pool itself is adequate but the pool area? One of the best I have ever been to. It is in shade for most of the day so you don't even need sunscreen. It was very much worth the money to stay there. I will certainly return.

Five Hotel & Residences is a modern and relaxed hotel that offers free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, and a fitness center. Situated in Asuncion, it provides easy access to nearby attractions such as Mariscal Shopping Mall and Asuncion Casino. The hotel has received mixed reviews, with guests praising its luxurious interiors and top-notch service while also noting areas for improvement. It is located in a quiet and secure neighborhood with plenty of nearby restaurants.
Nice hotel with very friendly staff and great rooftop bar. However the air conditioning fans located outside the window were noisy and there was also noise from the bar below. So not the quietest hotel. Breakfast was OK but freshly baked bread and croissants would have been better than the supermarket products that were served.
Daren S — Google review
The staff here are kind and friendly but that’s where it ends. The room smelt funny, there was no toilet paper and the soap dispenser in the shower was broken my entire stay. The housekeeper forgot to provide toilet paper multiple days. I shouldn’t have to ask for toilet paper at a hotel… They also charge for water? The hotel is also in the same building as a bunch of offices, so you awkwardly walk through an office lobby and get into the elevator with office workers. There are also a bunch of bars and restaurants downstairs that are loud at night and an outdoor CrossFit gym that’s loud at 7am in the mornings and until 8pm at night so if you’re sensitive to noise, avoid this hotel. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!
T — Google review
They pump loud, and I do mean ! LOUD ! techno dance club style music ! SO LOUD !that one can hear it four blocks away.Yes blocks away, four and almost five blocks away and ALL NIGHT. They simply do NOT care at all about anyone trying to sleep anywhere in this neighborhood including their own hotel. Have a flight early the next day ? We don't care. You have a tour early in the morning you need sleep for ? We don't care. Have a conference call at 7am ? We don't care.

Really nice building in a great location. Room is cool and comfortable. Housekeeping and front desk were great. Nice gym. A chair on the balcony and iron would be better. An information book in the room would be helpful. The website leaves a lot to be desired and I'm not the type to spend 10 minutes asking questions to the front desk. Safe, walkable and modern.
J H — Google review
Nice hotel, but…. Like many places in the area, there is lots of noise from a new construction project across the road
Peter H — Google review
The hotel has five star in its name only. The rooms are okay, bed is okay, bathroom is great. They are very noisy since the gym pump loud music at any time it is open. The hotel is weirdly integrated with an office building and it is kind of awkward to take the elevator sharing it with office workers. The main downside of this place is for sure the lack of proper service. Most of the staff, even at the front desk doesn’t speak English, very underwhelming for a “five star” hotel. We requested the day before the last a small breakfast to-go since we were going to leave very early, but the guy at the front desk forgot to insert our order, so at checkout we had no breakfast. The breakfast in general is quite poor, and the service is subpar even there. There were no clean plates for guest to use, but the waitresses were just chatting between themselves and when I asked for some clean plates I was confronted by a very annoyed reaction. In general, a lack of professionalism and care for guests are the reasons I would not suggest anyone to stay here. Don’t let you be fooled by the “five stars”, I’m pretty sure there are much better options for the price I paid.
Mario D — Google review
First, we want to clarify that "Five" is the name of the hotel, not its star rating. The hotel is decent but definitely not five-star. It has good internet and very comfortable beds. The breakfast is basic and monotonous, with eggs, sausages, bacon, fruits, and pastries, but unfortunately, there are no vegetables or greens. The reception staff speaks English but can sometimes be a bit arrogant. There is an air conditioner and hot water. The room cleaning is average, with a rather perfunctory approach. There was hair on the floor and poorly cleaned mirrors and glass shower doors. However, the bed linen and towels were clean, white, and of good quality. Also we had two maintenance issues in our room, which were resolved promptly. There is loud noise from the downstairs disco until midnight, and noise from the hallway is also quite audible. Overall, this is a 3+ star level hotel. It is located in a safe area with many supermarkets, restaurants, and currency exchange points nearby.
ZT — Google review
A very nice hotel, good location. The area is quite noisy and the soundproofing in the rooms is not great so it can take a while to get to sleep. The buffet breakfast is quite good though a bit chaotic. Very helpful staff.

This hotel is wonderful. We stayed here twice during our trip through Southamerica. We got excellent service, very helpful frontdesk, high class rooms, beautiful view from the terrace with pool, great breakfast and top notch support not only during our stay also before and after. Many thanks to Luis Da Silve which made our stay unforgettable.

It was a very nice hotel sits in the historical area of Asuncion. I adorn the receptionist, Marcos and Oliver, always smiling and open the doors for you when you are in and out. I accidentally left something in the room after I checked out and they work diligently and help me to find it. It’s a hotel that I’ll be sure to come back to Asunción next time.
Claire Y — Google review
We were very happy with our stay at Palmaroga. The service was excellent and the staff attentive throughout. The hotel blends modern amenities with historic charm — the courtyard is especially beautiful, framed by elegant arches and filled with light, making it a perfect spot to relax. Our room was comfortable and well-furnished, and the decor and furniture across the property give it a stylish, welcoming feel. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of variety and quality. The hotel sits in the heart of central Asunción, which overall may not be quite as vibrant or polished as one might hope for, but Palmaroga itself is a gem — and its street is among the best in the area (relatively speaking). Overall, a great choice in Asunción — both comfortable and memorable.
Sandeep S — Google review
Just checked in, and had to wait for 10-15 minutes. The room has a strong musty smell and was quite small (we had 3 beds) compared to others we have experienced in the Americas. No stand for luggage and the view from the room is sadly of other rooms. The lobby and restaurants are impressive, but the rooms leave much to be desired. The breakfast was very good, and the ambience is great. We also had dinner at the restaurant and the food was awesome.
Dipanjan D — Google review
I stayed here 2x2 nights in the same 4th floor room. The building, exterior and interior is attractive, the room was a good size, nice decor, aircon and wifi worked well. From the 4th floor you can hear street traffic and noise, especially when a Saturday night local fiesta is on. The room had a kettle but oddly the only socket it fitted was in the bathroom where it tended to cut out. There was no sink plug or complimentary water in the room and the toiletries were minimal and not replenished. The breakfast buffet was good quality, not much hot food but a fair choice. Of the hotel breakfasts I had in Paraguay, this was the best but it does not match buffets in equivalent hotels in other capital cities. The "gym" is a very small room with no natural light, a few bikes and running machines, a swiss ball that needs blowing up, 5 sets of dumbells and some mats. It is neither well equipped nor a pleasant space to exercise. There are nice sunrise/sunset views from the upper pool/terrace but the pool is small, there were no towels when I was up there and the seating is not comfortable. More could easily be made of the space. Staff were friendly and helpful. For exchanging money they recommended Cambio Chaco not far away. Location wise this is a good choice to walk to Asuncion's sights, plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
Lyndsey — Google review
My stay at the hotel was thoroughly enjoyable. The cleanliness throughout was commendable, and the staff's politeness and readiness to assist made my visit exceptionally comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious and varied, starting each day on a high note. The location near the city center was convenient, allowing easy access to key attractions.

My only issue with Hotel Palmoraga is that since they hooked up with Hilton their prices are much higher. Great staff. Goid food. Pool isn't the best but it has an amazing view.
Bill C — Google review
Good sized room and there's a place to put your suitcase, but one of the walls was really dirty. Nice view from the room and from the rooftop pool area. There were people outside yelling, honking car horns and playing loud music after midnight which was a sleep distraction. There's a gas station around the corner, a currency exchange about 4 blocks down Palma, and several restaurants within walking distance.

I don’t like posting until I’m certain but I feel comfortable now after my 4th visit. I’ve stayed at a number of hotels in Paraguay but this classic hotel is truly an amazing value with incredible service. I’m currently eating lunch poolside on the top floor. The Caprese chicken dish is possibly the best chicken dish I’ve ever had. Food (and free breakfast) is outstanding especially for the prices! Not sure how they do it. Beds are extremely comfortable for aching bones. Super clean (with a gym), and the sheets are 5star. Staff is the best I’ve experienced in all of Paraguay. The layout/design is quite unique as well. Cant go wrong staying here!

I arrived in Asunción without having any hotel reservation. However I knew that I would be stay either at Crowne Plaza or Cecilia. Both hotels met my basic requirements- AC, gym, breakfast and in center. From the airport I went to Cecilia to check out the place. The lady who greeted me was very kind and let me see the available rooms and gym etc. I initially booked the room (superior room Blue suite) for 3 nights but ended up staying 7 nights. As others have stated in past reviews that this is an older building and that is exactly what makes it a charming place. This is a family owned hotel with an interesting story that you can read about in the lobby. The family still runs the hotel, attends the reception and offer a personal touch. My room was spacious with a king bed, lot of room to spread, good Wi-Fi, hot shower with good water pressure and most importantly, quiet. The AC works great. My room was an interior room with limited inside view but it was a trade off to be in one of the quietest rooms with no street traffic noise. There is a fridge in the room where you can store your own wine and food etc. There is a 24/7 convenience / grocery store Biggie down two blocks from the hotel. Biggie sells everything you may need for an extended stay -wines, beers, snacks, fruits etc. There is a gym on 5th floor. It’s old equipment with limited free weights but if you know your way around the gym, you can get a good workout. I used the gym daily. The gym has two air conditioners that help as it was consistently between 95-100+F in Asunción during my stay. The breakfast was included in my booking and I greatly enjoyed it everyday. The fruits are fresh and of good variety along with cereal, eggs and the usual stuff. The roof top is amazing with pool and plenty of sitting room. I enjoyed a bottle of wine every night in the refreshing evening breeze with view of Asuncion. The La Preferida restaurant is attached to the hotel and has same owners. It offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had breakfast, lunch and dinner once at the restaurant and enjoyed it. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. Here are some points of improvement. 1. Requesting the management to put a desk chair in room for computer work. There was a chair in my room but not suited for long hours of working on computer. 2. It would be nice to have a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the room door. 3. The gym gets extremely hot - I’d recommend to have the window shades down during day time to help keep the temperature down. 4. It would be nice to make incremental upgrades to the gym equipment- new bench, barbell and newer treadmill etc. I am specially grateful to the owners and staff for their truly wonderful personal service and help during my stay.

Vintage hotel but very clean. I enjoyed my stay and their yummy breakfasts. Those are my main priorities with a hotel, I do a lot of touristing and adventuring around, it's important for me to feel that the hotel is 1 safe, 2 clean, and 3 have a healthy and filling breakfast. This place has all 3.
Geraluz — Google review
All employees were friendly and helpful. The room was very properly cleaned. Breakfast was good. I would only suggest to add a lighter cheese and to put only fresh fruits in the fruit salad.

Staying in Hotel Cecilia for Christmas 2013 - helpful staff, clean and tidy hotel, good location near the centre, not much street noise, good AC, reasonable prices, attractive interiors and large rooms, and excellent food in La Preferida restaurant on the 2nd floor (also accessible from the street). Staff speak no English but few do in Asuncion. Would have received 4 stars as needs a few tweaks due to its age, but is priced very favourably so gets 5 stars. Definitely recommend to visitors here.

It is quite a bad hotel. The building is nice, there is even a pool and trees in a courtyard, but the whole thing is poorly maintained. The walls are dirty, junk is left lying around, everything is broken or in need of repair, and the pool is not clean so cannot be used. The rooms are also pretty Spartan, which is fine, but bugs do get in and there is very little natural light. The mattress is rock hard. Also the breakfast is terrible. On the plus side the AC works well, location is alright, price is reasonable.

A violent nightmare disguised as a hotel - total chaos, zero safety, and no respect for guests DANGEROUS and disrespectful hotel - Avoid at all costs. • No security: keys are almost identical. I could open room 61 with the key from room 60. Anyone can access other rooms. • Wi-Fi unreliable: works poorly or not at all, depending on the room. • Outdated plumbing: impossible to adjust the water properly, taps jump off because the thread is damaged, everything is old and faulty. • Organized chaos: the owner regularly hosts groups of sports fans and teams, turning the hotel into a nightclub: screaming, insults, heavy drinking for 12 hours straight. • Owner's complicity: no refund unless you leave the hotel before midnight, meaning getting out of bed, packing, and finding another hotel in the middle of the night. • No intervention, no ethics, no respect for guests. Staying here means risking your safety, losing sleep, and being treated like cattle. Experienced this twice - this is the rule, not the exception.

Stayed here on two different occasions. Some of their doors are tricky to open but most of them have beautiful window views. The food is good, and they're able to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner which is very beneficial. The location is also nice because it's in an area where you can easily walk around and access a lot of stores and sights. A good place to stay at!

Budget hotel close to the downtown under the same management as the popular but rather far-out Portal del Sol hotel. Although it faces onto a rather grimy section of Avenida España, it's only just round the corner from the Plaza Uruguaya.

Paseo La Galeria Hotel & Suites is a down-to-earth 4-star hotel located within the Paseo La Galeria Shopping Mall in Asuncion. The hotel offers air-conditioned rooms, a fitness center, and front desk service from 6:00 am to midnight. Situated in the new financial zone of the city, guests can enjoy spacious and clean accommodations with great views of Asuncion.
We didn’t stay at the hotel but visited the gallery to experience shopping in Paraguay and found Paseo La Galería to be one of the most impressive malls in Asunción. The architecture is striking, with a multi-level design that feels both modern and inviting. A garden walkway connects the levels, giving you the unusual experience of walking outdoors while still inside a shopping complex. The mall features a broad mix of international and local brands such as Zara, Calvin Klein, Adidas, Puma, Levi’s, and Tommy Hilfiger, alongside Paraguayan boutiques. The food court is varied and stylish, offering everything from casual fast food to more refined dining. We also came across Yogurberry, which is essentially an identical clone of Red Mango in the USA — same concept, just under a different name. For families, there’s a kids’ arcade and a cinema on the top floor, making it easy to turn a shopping trip into a day’s outing. One of the highlights is the glass sash elevator that runs from the upper levels of the mall over to the hotel side, giving a futuristic, tunnel-like experience with sweeping views as you ride. Overall, this is more than just a shopping mall — it’s a full destination to shop, eat, stroll, and be entertained. Definitely one of the highlights of modern Asunción.
Sandeep S — Google review
It's in the mall, very easy to stay and go to the mall.

The hotel is located in the new corporate, commercial and residential axis of the city of Asunción, the core of the new financial zone. Paseo La Galeria Hotel & Suites is located in Tower 1 of the Paseo La Galería complex, with the best views of Asunción. The guests enjoy a shopping centre with more than 140 famous national and international brands, entertainment in the form of a cinema in the city and a playground for children. There are a wide range of dining options in the unique environment of terraces of the Paseo.

I've traveled to almost every country in Latin America and stayed at many hotels. This hotel was the absolute worst experience I've ever had. The room with absolutely disgusting with holes in the sheets in both beds, as well as hair in the shower. There was someone smoking in the room next to us (even though this is a non-smoking hotel) and we could smell the smoke in our room, but the front desk said there was nothing they could do about it. We asked to change rooms, but again, the front desk did not have the authority because the manager was out of town. Do not stay at this hotel!!

Excellent family-owned and run hotel with modern amenities and a beautiful setting. The staff are very polite and friendly and attentive. I love the grounds and the decor. It feels much more like a home than a hotel.

The Gran Hotel del Paraguay is a beautifully-preserved colonial-era hotel with a restaurant, as well as an outdoor pool. The property is located within 3 km of Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay.
Historic, legit hotel, established over 100 years ago. Their restaurant/dining room is a chill place to escape the heat and bustle of the Paraguayan capital. Very friendly staff.
Jerome S — Google review
Nice hotel, very green and beautiful garden with mango, avocado... restaurant with good menu, but breakfast could be better. Good value for money.
Igor L — Google review
The grounds of the hotel are very beautiful and the breakfast buffet is pretty good. I would say for the money the room could be nicer, especially the mattress was terribly worn out and uncomfortable. They had wedding reception parties in the ballroom over the weekend that went on until 4am with loud music, which was quite inconvenient. Also the area is somewhat commercial and while okay during the week, it became deserted on the weekend and less safe to walk around. There are nicer parts of the city for sure
Steven B — Google review
Former quarters of the Spanish colonial governor. Well maintained facility with first class amenities. Perfect to get away from it all stay so it could be a little inconvenient as it's neither downtown or in Villa Mora. Would be my first choice if staying in Asunción.
John H — Google review
Great memories of this grand hotel. It once used to be a private manor. The accommodations are ok, nothing too fancy but the dining room, the lobby and the garden are grand. Typical place in the colonial Paraguayan style. The food was good too and prices adequate. Loved it.

The physical accommodations were in line with what you would expect from an establishment of this type. However, the service left a great deal to be desired. My husband and I booked this hotel because of the reviews which described it as “quaint”, “romantic”, and “historic”. It sounded perfect for the last night of our travels in Paraguay. We had booked a room with a queen size bed through an online booking app which we confirmed before arrival. Upon arrival, however, we were escorted to a room with two twin beds. After explaining the situation to the bellhop, he seemed confused and said that's what we booked. It was not an issue of understanding. My husband is Paraguayan and speaks both Spanish and Guarani as a native. Returning to the reception desk, we were made to feel very uncomfortable, receiving sharp stares. While the whispers were quiet, I assume that they did not realize that my husband understood everything they said. Finally, we were sent to the room we reserved and paid for with a lame apology from the reception desk clerk and stony silence from the bellhop. The unwelcoming atmosphere we received at check-in meant that we really did not experience any of the romantic charm we were looking for. We got the same looks of disgust when checking out the next morning. Quite an unpleasant last day.

To stay close to the main sites in town, this hotel was our best option and happy it's an ihg hotel. Rooms were dated. Rest of hotel has been updated. Decent buffet breakfast. Walkable to most attractions or a quick Uber ride.
Debbie F — Google review
Our family of 5 stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. We had two rooms, one was a triple and one was a double. The rooms were very nice, although my only complaint is that in the double, the toilet was so close to the counter that I had to sit sideways on it. The triple room had a much bigger bathroom. The staff here is really what makes this hotel great. They are willing to help with anything you need, and they even helped us book a couple city tours that came and picked us up directly at the hotel. Breakfast at this hotel is amazing! You do have to pay an extra fee for it, but it is well worth it. There is also a restaurant on-site, as well as a bar. My only other issue is that the location is not the greatest. Not that I ever felt like it was dangerous or anything, it's just not really close to much so we had to take an Uber if we wanted to go anywhere. There is a Biggie grocery store about a block and a half away with lots of snacks and stuff, so that's good. The closest ATM is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel.
James D — Google review
Location was good as it was right in the heart of asuncion and close to everything we needed. The Hotel staff were great and spoke both English and Spanish. The rooms were a bit dated. Screws missing from fixtures, leaking fitttings on the shower no lock on the bathroom door. Also the ac system sounded like a jet taking off and there is no way you could sleep with it on which made for a hot night. Was however clean and tidy.

I had a great experience staying at the Crowne. The room was impeccable and the breakfast was also pretty good. I would easily choose it again.

DON'T BELIEVE THE GOOD REVIEWS There are so many things wrong with this hotel, here's a couple of them : - they promise IHG cleaning but rooms are not cleaned like ever, they don't even replace basic stuff like toilet paper - you have to pay 10 bucks for the breakfast and it's really simple one, like almost anything to eat - pictures on Maps do not reflect the hotels reality - room service takes forever - there's no water in the rooms and it also takes forever until someone brings it up. A hotel employee entered the room of my colegue while he was inside to bring the water, didn't even bother to ask if there was someone inside (what the heck)!!!! - there are not so many good places to eat around the hotel - looks like the hotel is struggling to survive after the pandemic - the magnetic cards stop working every time you go out. I had to use change the card 3 times before entering the room when I checked in Just don't stay here

I do not recommend this hotel Christian at front desk refused to honor my booking for 10 sept 24 made via expedia. Though he had it in his computer, to harass me he made it send from my email to his email as evidence that i had paid for the room. Manager, please investigate!

Very cost effective option, close to 2 shopping centers. The staff are friendly and helpful. All the front desk staff I encountered had English skills to understand my needs. The room was clean, but the bathroom smelled a bit, which is extremely noticeable if the door was closed for the night. 24 hours free coffee and pastry is a nice service. There's a gym and pool on the top floor, I didn't use it, but it looked nice.
Victor L — Google review
Very nice and clean. Security is the best around!
Lisha S — Google review
This express version of a Holiday Inn hotel does not meet the standards and expectations of this chain. The street noise in the room makes is quite intense, especially early in the morning. The windows are not noise protective at all and it seems like they are open. At least, the room itself is quite clean. Breakfast selection is small. There wasn't even oatmeal, which would have been a good alternative from time to time. Only the sugared version of cornflakes. In addition, the atmosphere in the breakfast area is hectic and unpleasant. The buffet is too small for the many people and there is always something missing. The gym is sufficient for cardio, but the multi-station is unsuitable for strength training as it hasn't been maintained and is of poor quality. At least there are dumbbells up to 25 kg. The location itself is good. Restaurants, shopping malls etc. are within walking distance and the district seems to be quite lively and also relatively safe. Reception staff is uncomplicated and supportive. Unfortunately, the choice of good business hotels in Asuncion is limited. Therefore, I had no other choice than to stay.
Matthias R — Google review
I recently stayed at this hotel with my family and had a generally positive experience. The facility was incredibly clean, and we greatly appreciated the inclusion of parking and breakfast with our stay. Unfortunately, the front desk staff did not extend a warm welcome to us, which was a letdown. Just a heads up for future visitors to manage their expectations when it comes to the hospitality at check-in.

Rooms are very nice (for a 4 star hotel) but slightly smaller than in other hotels in Asuncion. Basic ammenities are covered and you will find complimentary water in the fridge. Service is not great, I had to ask for my room to be cleaned every day of my stay as they would forget and them they would claim it was outside cleaning hours… not very efficient but eventually they would clean the room. Breakfast is reasonable, not great.

We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Hub for about a month while supporting Team Canada during the Junior Panamerican Games, and we felt welcome from the very first day. The staff were professional, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Having a café inside the hotel was an added bonus that our team truly appreciated. A big thank you to everyone at Hotel Hub for making our stay so comfortable and memorable!
Lilly D — Google review
This was not a pleasant stay. When I checked in early in the morning, the reception insisted on charging a full day’s rate of approximately $170. Although we were tired, we decided to check the hotel’s rate online, which turned out to be much lower. When we questioned the calculation, the receptionist responded with a poor attitude, stating that check-ins before 9 a.m. are charged at the full rate, while those between 9-11 a.m. are half-price. I’ve never encountered such a policy before. Very disappointing experience. They do not have kettle and napkins.
Wolala H — Google review
I'm in the hotel now. It's not a cheap hotel by any means, but today they checked in a large group of kids and they occupy all 9 floors. They are loud, playing and running in the hall, and slamming doors. I've complained to the front desk. Let's hope they can do something, but I seriously doubt they can.
Gary F — Google review
No help with luggage from my taxi. Reception had lost my booking, so they gave me the WiFi code for half an hour for entertainment whilst they tracked it down. It was booked through Agoda and I had the receipt so I don't know what the problem was. Offering a cold drink or cold towel would have been appreciated. My room was "compact" If it had been for more than one night or for more that one person it would have been far too small to relax. I didn't get a chance to check out the roof restaurant or food. You are directly opposite a mall with food court, shops, parking The bed linen was clean but the pillows we horrific. They were like STONE! No pillow protector sleeve means years of sweat and hair were condensed. The thought made my skin crawl so I just folded up some bath towels to sleep on. Not very quiet. I could hear people in my adjoining rooms. My favourite thing was the electric blinds.

Beautiful, clean hotel, welcoming, friendly staff, amazing view from the terrace. Breakfast buffet on the terrace was so delicious with many options. I enjoyed the Paraguayan food that they mixed in along with traditional breakfast choices. The coffee shop located in the lobby was very convenient, and the hotel is across the street from a mall with two huge food courts. We had a really nice stay here!

We ended up changing Hotels. If you are big on cleanliness, I do not recommend it. Rooms are dated, the room interior quite run down, hairs everywhere, and a good dusting wouldn't hurt. They tried to accommodate, but only so much you can do with run down facilities, with nobody keeping an eye on details. Prices seemed high for the standards it offered. One very grumpy receptionist and the other very friendly

The parking lot entrance needs a ramp, since every-time you leave it (if you have a small car) hits the ground. The beds gave me and my family all back pains, the sheets and pillows were very bad quality, the cleaning supply smells like bleach and dirty water mixed together almost like poison for rats. They allow the guests to play extremely loud music at any time of the day. The older male guests have no shame in watching women bathe in the pools (they do not ID when going into the hotel so anybody could be there). The air conditioning needs desperate cleaning, horrible for people with allergies, not to mention the fact that it started to drip water on one of the beds, specifically room 103, the front desk told us that someone would come to fix it which never happened. The bathrooms are usually locked in common areas. Most of the gym equipment does not work. The breakfast is mediocre. The front desk is extremely rude and seems to have never taken a customer service course in their lives. Overall the only good thing about the hotel was the location being near 2 malls, and the poor workers, aside from the front desk people, trying to make their joke of a hotel respectable.

I am very happy with my stay. No Hotel is perfect but this Hotel makes everything right, which is most important to me. + Staff cares about special requests + Gym is way better than in other hotels + The pool area is nice + There is a buffet restaurant and even a Casino!! + The bed is super comfortable and King size!! I slept like a baby Muchas gracias!!!!! 🥰

Amazing Hotel! Amazing breakfast! Clean bed! Very luxurious lobby! Highly recommended! The one problem was that the air conditioner was very loud and we couldn't sleep too well.
Anita G — Google review
Hotel is super dated and need an upgrade, windows not soundproof, so can hear every noise from the street. Category itself is breakfast with second to zero choice. As per positives, staff is efficient, and the location is excellent
Jiri S — Google review
To be avoided at all costs. The pool is supposed to close at 10, but it is left open so that noise gets to the room (badly isolated) until very late at night. Hotel management does not take any measures to remedy the situation and close the pool, in spite of many requests.
Carlo G — Google review
The worst restaurant that I have seen! The waiter saw how I entered the restaurant, she saw how I took a seat but completely ignored me! I waited for about 25 minutes, but nobody served me! There were about 2–3 persons from personal, and they just chatted with each other and there were only 3 clients including me! What a pathetic place!
Greg E — Google review
I went to the theater to attend my brother's graduation ceremony and I must say I was shocked. I thought I wouldn't survive the night. The bathrooms smell bad and all walls were black and I felt like I was traped in a nightmare. The theater is old, seats are not that comfortable, everything looks in bad condition. Omg the music was a terrible Tecno almost all the time we were there. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Liz L — Google review
In the Summer time you can spend the whole day at the pool, you can also order drinks from the bar. There's a nice restaurant below and a casino too
Raul T — Google review
My stay was made less pleasant because I arrived on a weekend in which a regional football championship was being played in town and I didn't have a prior reservation. I was switched to a room without a/c but the staff had offered to try to find me a room at another hotel. I suffered greatly due to the heat and humidity. In spite of all, the staff tried to help, so I can't complain about that. My lower rating was more due to circumstances rather than quality of service.

Los Alpes Cipreses is a laid-back hotel with simple rooms, an outdoor pool, and a playground. The location is central but slightly off the beaten path. Guests appreciate the friendly staff and delicious breakfast. While some mention that the furniture could be updated, others praise it as a great place to stay with kids. Although not inexpensive, it offers clean rooms and excellent service. Some guests note that Spanish is predominantly spoken at the hotel.
Very nice place to stay with kids and the breakfast has a good selection

The rooms and bathrom are small. I would say the inside of the hotel is for couples or a bussines trip but not for family with toddlers. Outside they have a nice playground and beautiful swimming pools, so that part is kid friendly.

LAS LOMAS Casa Hotel in Asuncion is a blend of modern luxury and traditional Paraguayan art. The hotel features well-appointed rooms, a charming restaurant, and an elegant bar. Its main attractions include a lush garden, a sunlit courtyard, and an outdoor pool perfect for escaping the city's summer heat. The interior design is inspired by colonial Spain with exposed brick walls and terracotta accents.
Love this place, well appointed rooms, clean and quiet close to everything. The restaurant is one of the best in the city in my opinion because the food and service is good. Great breakfast until 10 and yet they don’t rush you to get out

Very sad 5-star hotel Outdated furniture and lots of humidity and mold and just generally not the cleanliness you would expect from a hotel like this. The bathroom also smelled like a sewer at times Gym equipment didnt work properly and limited options Random expensive surcharges for things such as small stains on the linnen which can be easily washed Breakfast and garden are very nice

Beautiful home converted into a boutique hotel. Feels like you’re at home, but with all the services you crave. Location is great. You are close to a couple of shopping malls and restaurants. All walking distance. The service from the initial check in through the hotel employees within the various areas of the hotel were always willing to go out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Pedro at the restaurant along with others in his team, were always there to make sure we had all info to make our trip pleasurable. Breakfast is included and although it was a bit limited in its variety, it wasn’t at all bad. Great pool and patio area to relax and have a drink. Great place.

Asunción Rent Suite Central – Comfortable and Convenient! We had a quick four-night stay at Asunción Rent Suite Central, and I also stayed here for 8 days last year. The location is great—right in the heart of the city, close to restaurants and attractions, making it easy to explore Asunción on foot. Just a heads-up: sidewalk conditions aren’t the best, but they're manageable, and it’s important to be cautious crossing streets, as drivers often don’t stop for pedestrians. Our superior studio on the 13th floor was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the basics needed for cooking. The building also offers a tiny "gym" and a rooftop swimming pool with beautiful city views. The staff was friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything. Depending on where your room is located in the building, your experience can be pleasant or noisy. Some nearby restaurants have live music events that can be loud until late at night or even early morning. We were placed at first on the 5th floor during this stay, and the noise made sleeping difficult. One of the highlights of our stay was the stunning night view from the rooftop terrace, overlooking the city skyline, the Paraguay River, the Costanera, and the Presidential Palace—truly worth experiencing. A big plus for us was that Asunción Rent Suite Central is dog-friendly. Our pup definitely enjoyed his stay! The park near the hotel was perfect for his walks, and we also enjoyed strolling together to the Asunción sign behind the Presidential Palace and along the Costanera. Overall, we had a good experience, though I’m unsure if we’d stay again due to the noise concerns. Still, it’s a great option if you’re looking for a convenient, central location and are traveling with a pet.

Quite a big apartment .. We rented the one bed which had a wardrobe (with hangers) view of the water, TV and surface space, bedside lamps etc The bathroom is good; squeezing around doors could be easier and a soap holder and a few rails or pegs would be welcome to hang towels etc There was an additional toilet also. The living area has a black sofa (hard) which may double as a bed; another TV, table + 4 chairs and fridge, kettle etc. as stated in their ads. WiFi was good though out of commission for a few hours. Pool on 14th floor is small but nice. A few people there is a potential crowd but there are 3 other lying and seating areas where you can watch the lovely sunset. Basement has washer dryer, small gym but didn't use them. Enjoyed our stay.

As a solo female traveler I felt very comfortable here. The only thing I didn’t like was that since I checked in early (my flight got in at 5:30am) they made me pay for an additional night. I had called twice and specifically asked if this was going to be an issue and both times was told no. And not only that, they let me check in, get settled, spend half the day there and then told me they were going to bill me one extra night. If that was the case I either would have picked a different hotel or just come back later in the day. I felt taken advantage by the front desk guy. Besides that it was a lovely stay.

This is one of the noisiest places I've ever stayed at... Not possible to sleep past 6-7am. I enquired about noise before booking (I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be staying next to an ongoing building project, for example). The owner assured me that it was a very quiet and pleasant place to be with no building works going on nearby. This was not the reality. Not only was there a very noisy building site opposite, starting at 6am but there was also ongoing work within the building with drilling and banging going on all day long. I tried to cancel my booking and the owner ignored my request. I had to go through the website to cancel which took hours to sort out. I sent videos by email of the noisy work going on and the rest of my stay was refunded and I was able to leave early thankfully. Dirty floors. Other than that, very good modern facilities and reliable wifi. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean, with a large fridge, washing machine and cooking facilities.

The Palacio de López, a stately neoclassical building constructed in 1857, serves as the office of the president and the seat of government. Named after a prominent 19th-century political figure, Francisco Solano López, this iconic structure is located near the city center and overlooks the riverbank. Guarded by a significant number of policemen due to its governmental significance, it also houses various government offices.
The most iconic and recognizable building in Asunción, and arguably in the whole of Paraguay, is Palacio de López, officially titled Palacio de Gobierno (Palace of Government). It was built by order of Carlos Antonio López, the 1st President of Paraguay (1844 - 1862) and now serves as a workplace for the President of Paraguay, and is also the seat of the government of Paraguay. The palace used to be all white not too many years ago, but it has been painted in a distinctive pink color now and it is kept brightly illuminated at night, showing off its new color and its neoclassical architectural features. The palace has, I feel, lots of common traits with the country of Paraguay: it is rather small (especially considering that it is both the seat of government and the office of the President), very open and welcoming with colonnades and large windows and an unthreatening pink color. If you have a chance I suggest to go see it a night when the light makes it look its best and the armed military on premise make the area eminently safe. You can walk on the sidewalk in front of the Palace, but, even if there are no barriers in place, you can not get any closer to it.
Niccolo' B — Google review
Beautiful building but it is the official residence (I believe) so you cannot get close
David R — Google review
A very beautiful building that’s great to admire from all angles. It’s protected well by the roaming guards so you can’t get up close, and don’t even dare to put one foot on the grass, but you still get a great view from a distance. Clearly the highlight of the city and deservedly so.
Steve B — Google review
Neoclassical palace that serves as the seat of government and workplace of the Paraguayan president. It was built by Carlos Antonio López, the leader of Paraguay from 1841 to 1862, to serve as a home for his son. One should also come at night to see it lit up, and it is well-guarded.
James — Google review
It's a beautiful building! There are armed guards all over the place. You can't enter the property, but you can take a picture from the sidewalk. The guards were intimidating, but they were fine as long as you didn't try to access the grounds.
Heather S — Google review
The Presidential Palace in Asunción is a beautiful landmark and a must-see when visiting the city. Its architecture is stunning, especially when lit up at night, and it carries a lot of historical and cultural significance. The surrounding area is well-kept, offering great spots for photos and a nice walk along the river. While entry inside may be limited, just viewing it from the outside is worth the visit. A true symbol of Paraguay’s history and an iconic part of Asunción’s charm.

The National Pantheon of Heroes, built in 1936, is a revered mausoleum housing the remains of Paraguayan leaders such as Don Carlos Antonio Lopez and Marshal Jose Felix Estigarribia. The architecture is reminiscent of Paris' Les Invalides, featuring a grand dome and stained glass windows. Visitors can witness the changing of the guard and explore commemorative plaques from various sources. Located in the historic center, it offers guided tours through the tourist office.
Fantastic building architecturally and spiritually. We visited on Sunday morning when a Catholic Mass was wrapping up. Very nice. Here the heroes of Paraguay from the mid 1800’s to about 1940’s are honored and in most cases interred. Presidents, Generals, a symbolic war hero is featured, one artist (musician and poet), and some statues to Catholic clergy e.g. bishops. It’s a beautiful building, to us one of the best places to visit in Paraguay as one gets some history and the vibe and spirit of Paraguay’s independence and importance as a country. It’s free, don’t miss this place. Includes the tomb of the first President of the Republic who was the gentleman behind the famous term “Paraguay soup” as a name for bread, something I shall never forget. Well done!

UNESCO site remembering the valient men of the Chaco War. There's a changing of the guard 💂‍♂️ every so often. A must if in the area. Nice restaurant across the street called Narional Bar

Admission is free, plenty of signs describing the biographies of Paraguay's historical military and political figures.

Fabulous architecture and solemn hom for the national heroes …

A beautiful building in the city center. The history of Paraguay is here. It's small but it is a must visit if you are in the old city center. Around the pantheon there are shops and cafes if you want to chill after visiting it.
Fabio A — Google review
Free entrance. We took 10 minutes to see inside and three hours sitting in across the street at National Bar drinking beer, relaxing and contemplating the architecture of the building.

In the heart of downtown Asunción stands the National Pantheon of the Heroes, one of Paraguay’s most important landmarks. Originally designed in the 1860s by Italian architect Alessandro Ravizza, construction was interrupted by the War of the Triple Alliance and only completed decades later, inaugurated in 1936. The neoclassical façade with its dome and columns gives it a solemn, elegant presence on Plaza de los Héroes. Inside rest the remains of Paraguay’s most revered figures, including Marshal Francisco Solano López, other national leaders, and unknown soldiers. It serves both as a mausoleum and a symbol of remembrance. A highlight for visitors is the changing of the guard ceremony, performed by the Honor Guard. It’s dignified and formal — though not as elaborate as the spectacles at Buckingham Palace or similar sites — it adds a sense of living tradition to the memorial. Notes The site is compact — 20–30 minutes is enough to take it in. The guard change usually happens every couple of hours, we were lucky to get but not sure of the exact schedule Great photo opportunities: the white dome, flag against the sky, stained glass, and the guards at attention all make striking images. It is good to the stop here with a walk to the nearby Metropolitan Cathedral, Plaza Uruguaya, or nearby historic streets.

Nice architecture and history involved in the building where we ended our free walking tour. Cool to see the changing of the guards.

The Catedral Metropolitana de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, located in the heart of Asuncion, is a stunning example of religious architecture. Built in the 19th century to replace an older church, it boasts a beautiful mix of gothic and neoclassical elements. The cathedral's striking facade and intricate interiors make it a must-see for visitors interested in both religious and historical contexts.
Lovely cathedral inside and out. The surrounding area has been cleaned up and felt totally safe now. Worth the visit.

It's definitely worth a stop when doing a walking tour of old town Asuncion! Not a grand cathedral, however it's very welcoming and a great place to spend some time.
Dipanjan D — Google review
Lovely church but mas was going on so we didn't get to see much
David R — Google review
Nice old church. Had to go to the office to ask to visit the sanctuary.
Rob E — Google review
Worth a visit, but left me a bit underwhelmed. A pretty church.

Very beautiful church!

A nice looking cathedral which stands out as particularly striking alongside the somewhat dismal plaza de armas.

Big but less impressive than the churches in Brazil.

Museums
The Museo del Barro is a unique museum that showcases a diverse collection of Latin American and Paraguayan art, including pottery, ancient relics, contemporary art, indigenous artifacts, and rural crafts. With over 4,000 artworks and artifacts on display, the museum offers an immersive journey through 500 years of Paraguay's history. Visitors can explore intricate lace weavings from the 18th century alongside well-preserved examples of Franciscan religious art.
Amazing museum! Better than some state museums. Visit it , if you want to know about Paraguayan/guarani material culture.

Well worth stopping by, full of interesting Paraguan art, from all cultures in the country. Lots and lots to see

Very, very nice! Quillermo explained us many things and is a wonderful ‘host’ and artist himself! Many thanks, we had a wonderful time!

Great place with a lot of culture in Asunción, amazing pictures and old newspapers that showcase the history of Paraguay. Furthermore we can find a rich collection of different native tribes and religious artifacts and more
David C — Google review
Okay museum, rather disappointed after all the hype. Great pre-Columbian collection, probably the best in the southern cone and very well labeled. Large collection of colonial religious art, but very poorly labeled. (If interested in art from the Jesuit and Franciscan missions in paraguay, much better to visit the Sacred Art Museum downtown, beautifully done.) The contemporary collections were disappointing. The indigenous collections just seem like tourist trinkets commissioned for the museum. (If interested in indigenous artifacts, much better to visit the ethnographic museum downtown - it has one of the best collections in all of LATAM.) Make sure to visit the bathrooms, which are filled with exhibits. If you only visit one museum in Asunción, I guess this one is okay. But besides pre-Columbian art, the many specialty museums downtown are better.
Josiah W — Google review
A whirlwind of South American art, from pre-Columbian to contemporary and spanning pretty much all media (sculpture, painting, textile, photographic and so on) and genres, from figurative to conceptual. The museum is not huge, but it is brimful of art objects. To me it lacks some organization of the exposition, there is no clear logical path from a room to the next and some more explanation of what's on display. I found the pre-Columbian sculpture to be the most interesting, but the overall feeling of being immersed in an ever changing kaleidoscope of art was also thrilling. The entrance ticket of about 7 US Dollars equivalent is more than fair, but it is even better on Fridays and Saturdays, when the entrance is completely free! Judging from the visitor logbook it would seem that the museum is more popular amongst foreigners and tourist than the local Paraguayan, and it is in fact an excellent way to have a 360 degrees glimpse of Paraguayan art through the centuries and up to the XXI century. Highly recommended!

Great place. A beautiful and interesting exhibition. Very well presented exhibits of traditional Indian and contemporary art. The service was very nice and helpful. You can communicate in English. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

If you want to know Paraguayan old and new culture, Museo del Barro is the best place to visit. We went there by walking from Paseo La Galeria. It took 10 minutes. There were a lot of exhibits. We spent time around 1 hour and half there. Their opening hours are limited but it’s worth to visit if you go Asunción.
