After a few weeks away from home, I was truly craving those familiar, comforting flavours, and The Church absolutely delivered. I tried the Pad Thai and it hit the spot! The other dishes were also packed with authentic taste, fresh ingredients, and clearly prepared with skill and care. The beef was also great and service exceptional staff making sure we were well looked after and meeting our dining requests. Hospitality unbelievable but busy as the place was fully booked when we ate there. Beyond the wonderful food, the setting in the converted church adds a unique and memorable ambiance to the dining experience.

Lovely restaurant in Skibb in an old church. Very scenic inside and has a nice suntrap out the front when the weather is (rarely) nice! Food was gorgeous, I got scampi and my gf got a fried rice dish. The menu can sometimes be a bit inconsistent depending on the physical menu you get but all solid anyway! A real gem.

The food was absolutely amazing, finger licking. The atmosphere was fantastic. The pepper sauce was the best I’ve ever had without exaggeration.So far, this place is no. 1 spot for food in all of Ireland, for us. Highly recommended!!!

Came here for lunch as part of an organised tour. Such a special location. We really enjoyed our lunch - I had the cold meat and cheese platter and really enjoyed it. Great welcome from staff.

The building is impressive. The food on the other hand is mediocre at best. We had lunch here and it was just about passable. The beef burger meat tasted ok, but the thing was falling apart because the cheese was so greasy and the bap was way too small for the meat and salad in this burger. The chips that came with it were average standard. Small portion, but ij a way that's good because it reduces waste. I'd recommend seeing the place, but not eating here.

Went here at the recommendation of our host at PK Lodge - she was spot on! This food was some of the best we've had on our trip. Fresh and flavorful. My Shepherd's pie meal and the veg soup were awesome. My partner got the burger and loved it.

Our 1st visit. My friend and I ordered the Specials of the day , Chicken + ham with gravy and cranberry sauce plus mash and veggies + chips. Well cooked and taste are all very nice 👌 thumbs up 👍

Before visiting Skibbereen, we decided to have lunch at An Christin Beag (the small kitchen) based on the reviews we read. We very much enjoyed our experience. My wife had a BLT sandwich and I ordered the baked Hake with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The Hake was simply excellent. Perfectly cooked and amply portionned. The service was very efficient. Highly recommended!

For me this is a great restaurant. I have been a few times and it's always the same, brilliant food, family feeling, friendly service and super value. For me a great restaurant is one that makes you feel good as soon as you step inside, before even looking at the menu and An Chistin Beag ticks that box every time

Honestly at first I thought this cafe was going to make me an average cappuccino, staff didn't seem to be doing all the fancy things that most coffee shops do these days like messing with the steamer, swirling the coffee , banging the jug ect but boy was I so wrong it was an AMAZING CAPPUCCINO . As a coffee lover it was one of the best cappuccinos I've had in a long long time. Staff were lovely. I was only visiting skibbereen but will certainly make it my business to call again.

Lovely cakes to enjoy in the place or take away with a coffee 😀 Salads, quiche, sausage rolls etc look very nice. Of course I bought a very nice Irish bread 😋😋😋

Had coffees, soup of the day with brown bread and a vanilla slice to share. Lovely coffee, soup and bread were delicious but the blandness of the vanilla slice let it down. Would’ve been a perfect 5 stars otherwise. Great spot still though and SuperValu’s are always excellent for their fresh and local produce.

Beautiful store, well presented, well laid out, amazing produce. Staff are very friendly especially gentleman who helped me with a wine selection. He was informed and knowledgeable without being condescending. Highly recommended

On holiday last year, ran in quick for a kilo of locally-caught mussels (which were amazing), and were very impressed at the products. Wish we had more time to explore, and that we picked up some of those duck eggs to try! Very clean, helpful staff. Parking lot a bit crazy.

Field's is legendary. Fabulous in-house breads, cakes, black puddings, rashers etc. A really superb selection of wines, I picked up some amazing wines - 2nd & 5th growth Bordeaux. When in the area it is a must to stop into Field's.

If I could give zero stars I would. Cancelled my booking just 1.5 days before our New Years Eve trip for a close friends wedding, leaving us with nowhere to stay and slim chances of getting something on such a busy night at such short notice. Cited priority for booking.com customers - I had booked on the phone months before. Despicable customer service.

Make sure when you book for dinner that you check they have written it down in the book. We showed up with a big party - having booked a month in advance - and were turned away with the implication that we had made it up. No apology - somewhat lacking in people skills.

Myself and my friend who has significant sight loss had our dinner here each night while staying in Schull. The staff are fantastic and so helpful and accommodating. Really made us feel welcome. The food is really good and the menu really caters for those who don't want fresh fish. Highly recommend

This is a lovely quaint pub / restaurant, very reasonable price here, very clean,the staff very friendly, the menu and food is great, lovkids menu very reasonable, this place is always busy pub and restaurant right in middle skibbereen town lots to do around the surroundings areas

Hungry for some food we stumbled across this absolute gem of a place. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the food . Absolutely gobsmacked to find that our chef was completing his training at college because he cooked us two of the best plates of food we have ever had. The steak sandwich was juicy , cooked to perfection and just delicious. My partner's meat salad was full of top quality excellent juicy and tasty meat. Then there is the value . Never come here after any food because the portions are so generous you will never finish a mouthwatering meal. Simply brilliant

I'm gonna say it, this may be the best fish and chips in Ireland.

Recently 6 of us stayed in Annie Mays for 3 nights. Rooms were very clean and well presented, not the biggest of rooms but definitely not the smallest. I have stayed in B&B's that had smaller rooms. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and we had dinner there one night. There was mixed reviews between us on the dinner. I had the chowder and this was excellent others said their dinner was average. Overall a very nice stay and excellent location.

Great pub, large with plenty of different areas, old school and traditional. The owner William was absolutely lovely, loved having the chats and gave us plenty of information on the area and the farmers market , which is on every Saturday in the town and well worth a visit.

Popped in late on Saturday night for a few drinks and we were lucky enough to hear some music which was very good. Busy bar but the two lads behind the bar were well able to keep their customers happy. We were made feel very welcome. Himself advises the Guinness was very good.

Currently staying in town and popped in Monday night for a drink, went in early and it was a lovely quiet traditional Irish pub, had a couple of drinks and went for a walk round town (1st night) popped back in on the way back to the hotel and the atmosphere was fantastic, live Irish music with lovely people, just a great place to go !!

Savage spot! Best bar in Skibb. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, good music, comfortable surroundings. They even allow dogs during the day! Nice mix of friendly locals and visitors. Great bar!

Excellent place to call in for a drink (or 5!). Always have a great selection of musicians to sit back and enjoy. The Murphy's is amazing... Very homely place for anyone to enjoy.

Five stars for everything? Yes!…And deserved. Visited after the excellent Farmer’s Market Saturday morning. We experienced excellent tasty food and coffee, reasonable and justified prices for the quality we got. Very pleasant staff with attention to detail, value and quality. I wish them lots of deserved success…from a Kerry visitor!

Myself and my partner got the lasagne, salad and chips today. It was amazing, absolutely loved it, lovely home cooked meal with fresh ingredients. Can't fault a thing.❤️

I was visiting skibberean a few weeks ago and we came to this gorgeous cafe for lunch! Food was amazing. I left a shopping bag behind with bits I had bought at the market. The staff were so unbelievably kind that they posted the bag back to me in Kildare!! What lovely people, highly recommend a visit!

Very pleasant experience! 4 main dishes and 4 sides only took about 20 minutes to prepare. On top of that, some extras were thrown in free of charge. Delicious food, good value, lovely staff, would 11/10 recommend!!

Visited here as a table of two slightly out of the usual tourist season but was pleased to see it was still open for business. We both opted for the early bird three course special and had prawn toasts and spring rolls as starters and a vegetable Szechuan, a special mix with chili sauce, rice and chips as a main. The food was prepared quickly and arrived piping hot. The mains were served with warmers to maintain the hot temperature. The quality of the food was as I would expect from a good level Chinese takeaway. We had no complaints for the value of the food we received. It would have been nice to have had other customers present but this was most likely due to there being not many other tourists in the area at the time. I was aware of the one star rating that someone has provided, but without a review as to why would say that this was a baseless rating potentially done maliciously and would advise people to give the restaurant the benefit of doubt and pay a visit. The only criticism I could genuinely offer was that our host didn't seem to want to engage in conversation. A shame as everything else was to my liking.

Shredded chicken tastes like fish, Thai noodles was so plain we had to put soy sauce on it still didn’t make a diffrence, dumplings are absoulty horrible omg and we ordered 4 cokes and they didn’t bring it out till after we finished eating. Wasn’t a good experience altogether

Absolutely disgraced with this establishment. Food was ordered 30 minutes in advance last night yet was made to wait upon arrival. What was ordered was reasonably priced however, upon returning home the spicy bag contained two measly pieces of chicken and the wrong rice was given. Won’t be returning for definite!!

Staff was super friendly and put tofu into our spice bags for us which was going out of their way :) Portions could have been bigger and a bit more veg in the spice bag but the taste was lovely !

Placed an order for delivery while staying in courtyard cottages. Over 50 minutes later, no sign. Called again, "it'll be 10 minutes". 15 minutes later, called again, "should be on the way. 5 minutes". 20 minutes later, still no delivery. Ended up placing an order elsewhere. Don't bother with this place for takeaway. They eventually arrived over an hour an a half after the initial order was placed. Sent them back on their way.

The fish here is outstanding. You will struggle to find better in a sit down restaurant let alone a chipper. I go here a couple of times a year and have tried a few other things on the menu which were all excellent. Staff friendly and efficient and it is good value. Can be a bit of a wait at busy times which in itself is a good sign. Highly recommended

Went here for a quick bite before heading out to Baltimore. Quality of the fish was insanely good, super fresh. Chips were fantastic as well. Really good value for money with portion sizes being generous.

Maybe the best fish & chips I’ve had all year - batter was buttery and Yorkshire pudding like, fish was fresh & meaty. I wanted it to last longer. Chips also were delish and the lemon portion big enough for a squeeeze. I nipped into Fields Supervalue before hand so added a bit of coriander & snap peas. Stun.

Had fish and chips here while the batter was over cooked the fish in fairness was lovely, chips were done to perfection also had curry which was nice if a bit on the watery side. Would I go back when In that area again Hell Ya. Not related to this outlet only but my god the prices in chippers in general have gone mad two fish and chips small curry and 2 cokes 30€. Like Pubs,Hotels etc going to a chipper these days is becoming more of a treat than a normal thing to do.

Had dinner there the other night and it was one of the nicest chippers I’ve had in years! The food was so good - I had a veggie burger in a brioche bun and it was yum! My partner and baby had fish, chips and mushy peas and he said it was gorgeous and so fresh. The chips are also like proper fresh cut potato’s (the best kind). Not only was the grub tasty out but the service is really amazing. The staff are so friendly, helpful and efficient. Can’t wait to go back again!! Thanks guys 😁

oh well.. what can i say? the most delicious cakes and brewed coffee in skibbereen that comes to my mind<3 the interior itself is incredibly cozy and atmospheric, makes the coffee drinking experience even better. staff is very polite and well mannered too, i do recommend:) ps: as a bonus, the cafe sells paintings of local artists, so you get a feeling as if you're in real art gallery!

Cute and quaint on the outside, serious about quality coffee on the inside, O'Neill's is a delight. Friendly, helpful staff will give you lowdown on the best gigs and happening around town, and you can stock up on quality coffee beans, Aeropress, Chemex, or Clever Drippers, and lovely little gifts like local dried flowers and pottery. They have a great espresso machine and make a killer oat milk flat white. Make sure you leave a tip!

O’Neill is a family name and loved the look of this place. Small and quirky, with friendly staff. Had a beautifully moist carrot cake with coffee. Served straight away but not long before a queue formed and niw you know why. Do call !

The carrot cake is very very good! The coffee isn’t too bad. The place itself is rather small but that can be a good thing if you like it cozy :)

Rotten! frozen chips, frozen burger and instant curry from a pack. €9 For a burger meal was a joke. Why say "traditional" when it's frozen freezer food I could make better at home? I don't know how you could run a business any worse.

Great for Fast Food. Snackbox (southern fried chicken), burgers and even Kebabs (sauce nice but abbrakebra better sauce I think). Good value with meal deals. Only place open many evenings far as I can see. Fast. Parking on street ok. Lots seating and toilets (not great, dated, cold). American type diner set up. I travel from Schull to Cork and back regularly.

Staff not very friendly, burger was tasteless and my chips were very nearly raw.

Went here with my family recently and the food was absolutely amazing ! I’m a big foodie and the burger I had was perfect, no complaints. Even my younger sibling, who’s very picky, loved the food. The staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was comfortable- we’ll be back in no time.

Place was quite dirty, pancakes were fluffy but the maple syrup was the meaning serving I have ever seen, it was difficult to eat, my iced coffee was missing the syrup I ordered so it was stated but the lady who seamed I charge took it to the back for about 5 minutes to come back with the syrup put in, I have worked as barista and syrup should take about 15 seconds to put in not enough time the ice to melt. The only redemption for this place was the young lad working to was very nice.

A mediocre experience at best. A disappointing burger which was extremely bland. The only thing that was any good was the young lad serving. He was polite.

Skibberen has a great variety of foods. We have ordered here at the very beginning and thought it was just them finding their feet when they just opened. The first time we ordered it was a mix of vegan and non vegan dishes. The whole order was wrong and nothing of it was vegan. We tried after and had a slighly better experience but we will say that the food is never HOT. It tastes like reheated multipule times. When you unpack it it is luke warm. The prices are pretty steep. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Certainly won't be back for more. Ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala and what we received was ... Not quite sure but certainly incredibly poor food for price.. Chicken was dark brown and very hard, Masala sauce bland and tasteless.... Nan bread was rubber and inedible... In my opinion, a very poor standard of food and certainly worth be going back.

Really really nice falafal wrap. Came with pickled chilli & olives in a bowl. Also ordered a bowl of Hummus that came with a pita bread - delicious. I cant wait to try the other items on the menu - Babaganouche and mousaka for instance. Really nice to have a authentic taste of the middle east in Skibbereen.

Absolutely delicious and fresh food! great to have more vegan and veggie options in west cork too. The food is very reasonably priced and great value for money. One thing to note though they didnt accept card. Can't wait to go back and try it again. highly recommend!!

Found this to be one of the worst Chinese I have been to. The service was brutal. I ordered simple things like a spice bag n rice etc. After ordering it I went back out to my car. I sat there for a about 15 min and I went back in. The food wasn't ready so u went back out. Waited about another 15 min and went back in still wasn't ready. I questioned it and they didn't seem bothered. So I sat there and after another 15 minutes the food came out. It felt like if u didn't sit there they were not making the food for you. Other people that ordered after me got there food becus they waited inside. So weird. The food was OK to wait 45 min for some rice and spice bag I mean come on they need to get there service together.

The food I have had from China Kitchen has invariably been excellent. As all dishes are cooked to order allow more than the optimistic time given when you place your order. But the food is worth the wait.

Satay sauces and curry sauces unreal and not greasy. 4 in 1s are class, probably the nicest I've had. Chow Mein is solid enough Their chicken satay skewers though are tops, very popular and can be sold out at the weekends. Can't go wrong and decently priced

A top tier market, a varied mix of local produce, crafts, vintage clothes and antiques. Well worth a visit.

Great market in the town centre. Parking very easy. We managed to find everything we needed to cook a 3 course meal. Selection brilliant and all the sellers are very helpful and welcoming. We are from the UK and would recommend bringing Euros as we made the mistake of wanting to pay card. Some sellers do accept card but not many. Cheese stand was by far my favourite. The weather was also dreadful but rain didn't put anyone off.

No visitor center, but very kind and caring staff to guide you around. Book a tour, you won't be disappointed. Plenty of insights you get nowhere else...

Like the other review, great tour! According to the website, they only do tours on Saturdays, but since we're not around until then I rang them this morning and it was no problem if we'd drop by. So just give 'em a call! They've showed us around the whole facility: the old stillhouse, the new stillhouse, the botteling and the storage area. We finished with an opportunity to try several different whiskeys, even a few that weren't available yet in Ireland. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthousiastic, since he is, if I remember correctly, the production manager. All in all well over 2 hours of great information, great whiskey. They're currently building the new stillhouse, including visitors center and shop, which are both absent at this time. The new facilities are expected to be finished next year (2020).

Just opened a bottle of Virgin cask single malt and to be honest it's one of the smoothest most natural whiskeys I've tried. Top marks a real small batch success.

We have had a tour in the distillery conducted by Brandon. It was an amazing private tour and we had an explanation about whole the whiskey creation process. One of the best and exclusive whiskey tours we had.

I’m posting this in reply to a disgraceful review I just saw from someone complaining about this lovely place because they didn’t get scrambled eggs… but then they did? So sick of people looking for something that’s not on the menu and then complaining about it. I’ve eaten at this place a number of times and the food has been great and excellent value. The staff and helpful, friendly and chatty which makes a great experience… it’s always my first stop in Skibb… please ignore the scrambled egg idiot.

Not impressed with this place. Ordered an Irish breakfast that comes with "egg". I asked for this egg to be scrambled but was told it wasn't possible - only fried egg was allowed with the dish. That if I wanted a scrambled egg it was going to be an extra €5.50. I paid this, as my child only eats scrambled egg. The food tasted alright when it came. Nothing special. The place was pretty empty when we were there. When we left, we spotted other cafes in the area that were buzzing with people and we were sorry we hadn't gone to one of those instead.

The owners serve delicious lunch and snacks. I had a late lunch (early dinner) and ordered the goat cheese salad and the bacon panini. It was really good! There was no more space for one of the delicious looking sweet treats but I am sure, they are also a great choice.

Absolutely the best stew I’ve ever tasted. The magic sauce really is magic! This book shop vegan cafe hybrid is charming with a little back patio to eat or read. The owner made me and my dad feel right at home. We could have chatted all day this was such a fabulous spot in Skibbereen!! Thank you so much :)

What a pleasant surprise this place was. We both enjoyed big bowls of the veggie stew which was absolutely delicious. A lovely way to spend an hour or two in this really peaceful cafe surrounded by books and yummy smells of the stew. Great service too.

Welcoming staff, delicious vegan fare, and a wide range of books available to peruse - from gently used all the way to rare/signed/first editions. They have a variety of weekly events posted around the shop, along with reminders to put your phone away so you can absorb the peaceful atmosphere. Will definitely return to this sweet, thoughtfully considered space!

My mum and I were travelling around Ireland, and we decided to go to West Cork, only because we heard of this plant based cafe and were assured we will not starve. To our surprise, this is the best food we had in Ireland. The cafe is in a charming bookshop, that feels both wholesome on the outside as well as the inside. It's really well lit and positive and Nicola welcome's you with a warm smile. The food is fresh, organic and tasty - it's got a soul that's hard to find in 'outside food'. It satisfying, both to the body and the conscience. Nicola is so experienced and passionate about what she does - it reflects in the food! We absolutely enjoyed every minute - the salads, the chats, the reads and just to be. We found ourselves going to the cafe everyday we were in Cork and would time travel to there anyday we could!!!

We were visiting Ireland and stopped at Skibbereen for lunch. The plant based meal was one of the best I have ever eaten. My husband and I split the mushroom sub and we each had a bowl of vegetable soup. The flavors in both were delicious and perfectly balanced. It was the best veggie soup we have had. The mushrooms were marinated so well that it gave a rich flavor to the sandwich.

Excellent Vegan food in a unique environment. A ‘must visit’ even for non Vegans. Also do Vegan cake, the Coconut Balls are yummy- no added sugar just maple syrup. Thoroughly recommended

My wife and I just did a 1 hour Pottery throwing lesson. Our tutor was Sophie and it was absolutely fantastic. We both really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend you give it a go.

Really friendly and very helpful staff! We were totally able to take our time and enjoy the experience, reasonably priced in comparison to similar studios. Hot chocolate & coffee was fab too!

We had such fun painting our pottery, thanks to the lovely staff who were helpful and attentive. The coffee was excellent too!

Such a wonderful vibe! Painting pottery is so relaxing. A visit to cré pottery is a must when on holiday in skibbereen… plan to go early in your holiday so you art work can be glazed and ready to be picked up a few days later. Spent an excellent afternoon here, two adults and two kids having lessons on the pottery wheel, the kids painted some pottery as well, great coffee and cookies, friendly staff. Suzanne was an excellent teacher (we all, including an 8 and 10 year old, produced proper looking items on the wheel!). Looking forward to receiving the fruits of our labour in the post at the end of the summer!!

This is a family run Cafe and Takeaway Restaurant, in a small provincial town. Simply decorated and furnished it has a friendly atmosphere and is well presented. The menu is simple and sensible. Meals are served on the premises or for takeaway. The food served is of the highest standard and consistently good. It is very reasonably priced. I intend to revisit Leslie's Crossroad Diner again and again.

Great, great, great food, good selection even for vegetarians, friendly service, perfect location, plenty of free parking, indoor and outdoor seating. Whoever is looking for the best fish‘n‘chips in West Cork, good portions to make sure you won‘t leave hungry. Located just across from Lidl, it’s a great way to spend your waiting time for these shoppers to come out. Don’t look here for white table clothes, but who needs those if the owners/staff are so charming, customer orientated and cook everything fresh once ordered. And which diner elsewhere adds little chocolate bars to the tea pot? Anytime again!!! Over and over!! Open almost all the time.. whilst others just do service during high season! A must go!

Extremely kind owner, quick service. We came just when it was about to close, and they made sure we had everything we needed to sit and finish our meal outside. Oh, and the burger was really good and very cheap. Definitely recommended.

We've been doing a road trip through Ireland for 2 weeks and on one stop we grabbed Fish & Chips and some Onion Rings with homemade batter for take away at Leslie's Crossroad Diner. Now after finishing our road trip I can say that we had the best Fish & Chips + Onion Rings at this place. Also the size of the portions was huge at a fair price.

Looking for a pit-stop on our campervan tour of the Wild Atlantic Way, pulled in here by chance. Great simple food, clean efficient service at a very reasonable price. Don't be put off by the closed run down service area or Diner forecourt.

Leslie's diner is a very unassuming place that you could easily pass without giving it a second glance. The staff were lovely, the food was tasty and we'll definitely be back.
