This place is always my go-to whenever I’m in the area. The service is quick, and I really enjoy the patio seating by the water—it’s a relaxing spot with a great atmosphere. However, I was a bit disappointed with the fish and chips. I expected fresh, locally caught fish, but it turns out they use frozen Alaskan halibut or cod. It didn’t quite meet my expectations for a coastal location. The calamari was tasty, but the portion was small for the price—especially when compared to what most restaurants offer as an appetizer. It was also served with a heavy portion of fries, which felt like filler. Overall, I’d rate the food 3 stars. I added an extra star for the clean restrooms, pleasant outdoor seating, and the overall vibe of the place.

They’re best known for their clam chowder, so I had to see what the hype was about. I ordered the clam chowder, and while it was decent, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The flavor leaned heavily toward celery, which overpowered the clam taste, and the portion was small for the price. Nothing memorable there. We also got a seafood combo with octopus, fish, calamari, and scallops, plus chips. It was solid — everything was cooked fine and seasoned okay — but again, no wow factor. The garlic fries were probably the highlight for me: crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth grabbing. My daughter got chicken and chips. Heads up: there’s usually a long line, and it moves slowly — not because of the staff (they were efficient), but because a lot of people stop to ask a million questions. Also, note that there are two lines on both sides of the building, which can be confusing if it’s your first time. Overall, it’s a fun spot to try once for the experience, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return.

Nice view and dog friendly patio. Fish and chips were good. Tater sauce a little strange. Clam chowder was great! Cole slaw nothing exciting. By the time we left there was a huge line. Seems to be a popular place w locals too. Enjoy!

Mediocre quality food. Staff was friendly but would not return. - Oysters were ok and fresh. Buttery kind. - Steamed crab was very bland flavored. They said they ran out of crackers (tool to open the shells with) so we had to open them with hands which was quite tough. It would've been nice if they told us at least at the time of ordering. - Halibut & Chips. Again, very bland. Not seasoned. - Cocktail shrimps. DO NOT BUY⛔️ Tiny shrimps in a cup that they charge for $12. Not the normal finger sized shrimps you'd expect.

I ordered clam chowder / calamari sandwich upgraded to garlic fries . All i can say is "delicious!" Garlic fries amazing !!! Calamari sandwich was delicious . Clam chowder had alot of clams. Ill probably go back tomorrow and get the same thing

This place is so good we went twice. I had the popcorn shrimp the first time and then shrimp tacos and clam chowder the second. Everything is so tasty and made fresh for you. My father-in-law had the fish and chips which he loved. Anything fried here is delicious. Can't wait to go back! *7/16/24 update* So happy to be back. I was thinking of dinner here for awhile. The calamari and chips were awesome. We also got halibut and chips too. So good *6/1725 update * back again and do delicious. The food is fast and fresh and so tasty

I wanted to take my time with this review because they deserve careful consideration. Every time I cruise through Morro Bay, I make sure to stop by Giovanni's. Honestly, I've never ordered anything I didn't love from Giovanni's. From the shrimp cocktail to the shrimp nachos, and the fish and chips to the poke bowl, everything is amazing. And don't even get me started on the crab quesadilla... I can say without hesitation that I had the best fried calamari that I've ever had here. If you like seafood, I'm confident that you can order anything from the prepared menu and won't regret it. But if you really want to do Giovanni's right, step into their market (with the giant clamshell out front) and order some fresh seafood to snack upon throughout the day and take home with you. You can't go wrong with the salmon bellies. My only regrets are the prepared menu items I haven't tried yet, like the grilled halibut sandwich, which I will be back for soon.

It's okay at best. We went trying different kinds of chowder during our stay. Shrimp tacos were okay based on the shrimp themselves. 2 Stale tortillas loaded with a bunch of coleslaw to add size. The chower was weird, no cream, or should be labeled Manhattan Clam Chowder (peep the chowder in the back) instead of a vague description. "Loaded potatoes " are just roasted potatoes with salt and pepper with 2 dipping sauces. The lady serving us was nice. Aside from that, I dont think I would be back again.

My friend and I noticed some ants that were crawling from the wall onto our table, and I appreciate that our server was able to move us to another table. The food here feels like it's meant for people who don't like seafood but want to eat with a view of the rock. The burger I got was good and cooked to perfection.

It was my first time coming here. I live nearby Morro Bay and have tried most of the restaurants but I've never have come to this one. It was amazing food. Bradley was calm and collected and knew what he was talking about. Great server. Highly recommend this place.

Super cute in there. We had an excellent view of Morro Rock. The waitress was super friendly! The food was amazing. (Definitely recommend the chipotle sauce for the potatoes) Next time you come in this area I highly recommend coming here for a bite to eat!!!

Visited on July 3rd. Arrived at 7:20 PM (they close at 8:30), but there was no one at the reception desk—despite the sign saying “wait for the host.” We had to walk inside and ask someone for assistance. The dining room overlooking the harbor is beautiful, but instead of seating us there, we were offered the worst table near the entrance. When we asked for a different spot, we were moved next to the kitchen door. Strangely, we didn’t see a single staff member over the age of 25... There were still guests dining in the main room, yet everyone who arrived after us was packed into a narrow hallway. None of the tables were set—no glasses, utensils, or even salt and pepper—which made the seating decisions even more confusing since cleaning up before closing would be pretty straightforward. The food was average at best but extremely overpriced. To top it off, they added a food & beverage tax, a harbor tax, and an alcohol tax—something I’ve never seen before. Disappointing experience, especially for the price and the location’s potential.

This was such a mixed bag. Good stuff: - My family’s burgers looked amazing (juicy, great bun) - Our server was GREAT. 11/10! Was very attentive to us, very thoughtful about our kids (bringing crackers and offering water when they got grumpy, checking in regularly, rearranging tables for us, even the food we ordered for them was slightly cooled off so that they could eat it right away) - The sauce on the dragon lady slaw was yummy, albeit a tad too salty Bad stuff: - My fish tacos were terrible. Dry corn tortillas that hadn’t even been warmed, dry overcooked fish, a pile of dry cabbage on top. Another review from 5 months ago said the same. Just take them off your menu if you don’t want to make them nicely! - Potatoes were very salty - All three wines we tried were not good - The part of the restaurant that overlooked the water was completely closed - chairs on tables. We came down here to eat by the water but couldn’t even see it. TLDR: Come here for a good burger and pleasant chats with nice staff. Avoid if wanting a nicer meal.

Great little place! Audrey our server was super nice and very helpful! We had the tacos and they were really yummy! Sauces are amazing! The sauce on the slaw was so good! BF had the homemade brownie with ice cream and he loved it! Only reason for the 4 star on food is because I didn’t care for the clam chowder, it was different but BF loved it. 😊

This is one of my go to places for dinner in Morro Bay (I hear bfast is very good as well). The food, service, view and prices are all top notch for this casual restaurant. The outside heated patio has a great view of the rock, but indoor window front seating works as well. A nice bar up front is a great spot for a drink, etc as well as a large outdoor front area to wait for a table. Like most spots in morro bay, Dorns closes at 9pm, but I never feel rushed here.

My wife had the salmon and I had the calamari. Both were excellent! Arguably the best we've ever had. The service was exceptional! Even though it's a block off the water, the hilltop view was great. Dorn's will definitely be our "go to" dinner restaurant when in Morro Bay!

We had a great breakfast at Dorn's Breakers Cafe! The view of Morro Rock from the restaurant is absolutely amazing a perfect start to the day. The portions were huge and everything we ordered was delicious. I had the huevos rancheros, which were full of flavor, and my husband enjoyed the eggs Benedict. We also shared the special French toast, and it was delicious too. Overall, a great breakfast spot with good food and beautiful views. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had an amazing dinner here celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary. The staff was friendly and on top of everything, the atmosphere was nice but nothing too stuffy or fancy. It’s overlooking the water and iconic Morro Bay Rock, with outdoor patio seating and an abundance of window views from inside. There’s also a full bar, and the cocktail and wine list has a nice variety. We had the calamari appetizer which was perfectly and lightly battered. It came with what seemed like house-made Cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. The freshness really makes a difference. For main courses, I had the scallops and my husband had the clam linguine. It’s hard to say which one I liked better! The portions were generous and everything was so delicious. I was shocked at how many clams were in the linguine dish! To finish, they gave us a celebratory Chocolate Mousse, also freshly made in house, and it was literally the perfect way to end the meal - so light and fluffy, but full of flavor! This is definitely our new favorite spot when we’re in town. The breakfast and lunch menus look great online too.

Great Food, the Calamari steak was fantastic. Everything our party of 6 ordered was great. Service was good, polite, and helpful. The Friday night wait was only about 20 minutes. Restrooms were clean which is hard to do in a coastal setting. We will definitely be back.

1st experience at this restaurant and wow was it amazing. My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary and we couldn’t have been more impressed. The food (blackened snapper & chicken piccata) was fantastic, as was the outstanding service. Shoutout to Taylor for making our evening extra special.

A MUST stop if you are in the area (or even 30 miles away). Come hungry. Portions are sizable and quality is still high. We came for the carrot cake (which may be on the wonders of the world) but the burritos and tacos were excellent. The woman serving us in the dining area was incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring we had everything we need. Ah and the salsas were also great.

I didn't eat in, but did order there and waited. They greeted me as soon as I arrived and waited while I decided what to have since this was my first time. The cashier was friendly and answered all my questions. I ordered a combination plate which included a cheese enchilada, Carne asada taco, chili rellano and it came with black beans, rice and salad. It was all very good. Unfortunately the bag fell on the floor so things got a little mixed up, but it was still good. Price was a bit spend, but everything is nowadays. I would definitely eat here again.

We’ve been going to Taco Temple for 30 years or more. When in the Morro Bay, Taco Temple is a must! Seriously!! Their fish tacos, many varieties of fish, are more like a big salad. Fresh and yummy food. It’s really hard to go wrong with whatever you choose. They have beer and wine. Good place to either eat in or take out.

Great food (HUGE and delicious burritos), lots of complimentary chips...and all the other food we saw going out looked great too.

Eyes WAY bigger then my stomach. We came a little hungry so we each orderd our own meal plus an appetizer. I've ordered the baja tacos many times but usually carry out. Today we ate inside and the portions were enough for an entire family!! 4 GIANT filets with enough salad to feed 18 rabbits. The fajita plate my hubby ordered was equally abundant. Normally a side of fried pickles is maybe 4-5 spears. Oh no... this seemed like an entire JAR!! I had to put the fork there to give a comparison to the size!! We are camping nearby and the leftovers will make a delicious steak omelet in the morning!! $50 for dinner AND tomorrow's breakfast!! Next time, just one item and we'll split it!!

Very likely the best seafood in town. There are two places here, the restaurant inside, and then outside on the dock. Very often we sit outside on the dock have a drink and listen to music and then go inside for dinner. But sometimes we just stay on the dock and have salmon tacos with our beer and wine. Usually a great view of the rock and seagulls and the dock and boats… And people a few… But when it’s foggy, there’s not much of a view and you just kind of huddled up inside your sweatshirt. If you’ve got some good friends or family with you though it’s really terrific.

We arrived soon after the restaurant opened on a Tuesday. We had a table with a lovely view of the Rock, but my tall husband had to be careful about the light fixture overhead that threatened to brain him every time he stood. Service was okay. I got the clam chowder bread bowl, and it was fantastic, everything I hope for. My husband had the five piece fried fish. While the fish was undoubtedly fresh, the breading was rubbery. My son had the macaroni and cheese; it was oddly soupy, which comes across in the picture. So, an uneven meal experience for us.

Had a nice dinner dockside on the last day of a 2 week trip. We had a nice dinner, watched the fishermen unload the catch of the day and had excellent service. Enjoyed fish tacos made of the catch of the day with some onion rings. A nice 805 topped it off and we head home tomorrow. See you next time!

We always looked towards coming here every trip to the coast but seems like every recent visit gets worse. Really disappointed in the food this trip to the point it will be our last. Portion sizes are smaller. The food isn’t as good as it used to be to us. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great but we wish they would take a good look at the meals and portions.

Great spot overlooking Morro rock. Very accommodative - instead of making us wait 45 min, they sat us at two tables and enjoyed seafood lunch. Fresh oysters, popcorn shrimp to start. Great kids options. I highly recommend Yellowtail special.

The fish sandwich and clam chowder were great! Really enjoyed the live music. They noticed we had a dog and brought him a bowl and a treat. Such a good experience.

Dockside will always be my go to spot in morro bay. Great live music, Great seafood, Great atmosphere. This whole fish was on special for $5. IT WAS EXCELLENT!!!! People will complain of lack of flavor, but Its a fish market with a stove top in the back. Fresh seafood with salt and pepper is just fine by me. Edit: this is the outside location. Not the sit down restaurant next door. Different menus.

We stopped by on a rainy spring day on a Sunday morning. The place is very popular and we had to wait for 40 min but that was worth the wait. I believe I had the best Egg Benedict ever!! I had the classic but there's some special versions as well on the menu.

One of the most delicious breakfasts I've had in my life. Tried the "Here Comes the Sun" toast with arugula, goat cheese, bacon, and sunflower seeds on sourdough. I could not recommend it enough. Also had the cinnamon roll on the side. It was delightful. I also loved the atmosphere, the coworker dynamic is wholesome and the waiters are kind and friendly.

Great breakfast with an amazing view. Seated outside. Service was prompt and pleasant. Food was awesome. I had the Principles a scramble with artichoke hearts, olives, capers, garlic and more. Absolutely delicious. She had the chilaquiles and it was huge. Very flavorful with a hint of heat. Can't wait for my next trip out to grab breakfast here again.

This breakfast was just perfect 😋 Everything was so on point! I highly recommend the cinnamon roll — it was my first time having one fresh out of the oven and OMG it was warm, soft, and absolutely delicious 🤤 Definitely coming back!

Hofbrau in Morro Bay is one of our go-to spots, especially for their French dip sandwiches—they’re absolutely to die for! The chicken club is another favorite, and the kids always enjoy the burgers and other entrees. The fries are delicious as well! We love sitting out on the enclosed patio where we can stay out of the wind while taking in the view of the boats and Morro Rock. The line might seem long and out the door at first glance, but it’s fast, efficient, and the staff are always friendly. They also have a nice selection of beers to go with your meal. Great food, great view, great vibe—highly recommend!

This is a great little establishment to stop by and grab a quick bite. The roast beef french dip sandwich is excellent and very filling. The cheeseburgers are cooked to order and very tasty. The fries are cooked crispy and the onion rings are very good. The person who took the order is very sweet and helpful. It's a place where you walk in and order before sitting. We've been here a couple of times and inside is always clean and the tables are wiped down. They do have an outside area to sit but it can be chilly at times. Overall this is a go to place for lunch and even dinner after a long day (when you don't feel like waiting 45 min to be seated). elsewhere. .

The clam chowder was so so, had some flour chunk in it, but it was nice and hot and it was quick service. Nice patio dining with the harbor view. My friend has been here before and said the sandwiches were really good. I'll have to try that next.

Tried the French Dip Sandwich — The sandwich itself was solid. Great bread-to-meat ratio, with soft, fresh bread and incredibly tender meat. I wasn’t a fan of the au jus dip — it tasted pretty salty, though I’m not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be. Either way, it just wasn’t for me. I’d honestly rather enjoy the sandwich on its own without the dip. Service was great — the staff was nice, friendly, and made the place feel really inviting. That kind of warmth always makes the experience better, even if the food isn’t a perfect match for your taste.

I love the Hofbrau. It never disappoints. The food is great quality, the service is very kind and the view is of the bay and Morro Rock. For around $30 I got a big, meaty sandwich, fries and a beer. I took half home and they gave me a large to-go container of au jus. So I got two meals out of it. My husband ate his whole sandwich. We both got the County Jail sandwich which has roast beef and pastrami. It came with au jus. So yummy. And I like the beer choices on tap.

My sister and I had the extreme pleasure of eating at this restaurant. The food and atmosphere was exceptional. But, our first interaction was SO wonderful because of your "hostess" Jordan. She was sooo accommodating, kind. And she has a wonderful personality! She definitely is an asset to your establishment!

One our local favorites “Go To”s? Amazing food, great selection of our local wines. Ask for the “off the menu” Choice dinners, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Great wine selection and food options. Unfortunately, the servers care more about the owners who flaunt they are the owners taking up the front 3 tables on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We sat with empty drinks for over 15 mins and never got help. We were the only other customers there who were present with the owners. We decided to close out and go somewhere else.

Decent wine bar with grub to match. Location is at the end of Morro Bay and it’s makes a good spot to wrap up a jaunt around the Bay Area to wind it up with a good swing of the red grapes. Bourbon Glazed Pork Belly was a winner for sure!

What a wonderful wine bar! Such a great selection and the folks that work there are wonderful. The owner is an absolute delight. And the food..... WOW! We will certainly visit again.

STAX will forever hold a special place in my heart! Over nine years ago, my husband and I did our first road trip and stopped in Morro Bay where we fell in love. 2 years after that, he proposed to me at The Rock and we had our engagement party at STAX. We rented out part of the restaurant and had family and friends to celebrate. Fast forward to 2020, we're celebrating our 9th Valentine's day at STAX. This place never disappoints! + AMAZING SERVICE! Just the friendliest, warmest, most accommodating, and helpful staff. They are always so cheerful and inviting, and super knowledgeable on wine! + Great location! It's an easy walk to The Rock and lots of sight seeing. You have a beautiful view of the bay and The Rock. + Beautiful and relaxed interior. Lots of seating to relax and enjoy vino + Great music that sets the mood + Wonderful wine list from local wineries and delicious nosh.

We would normally not be going out during the weekend because everything is so busy with tourists but found ourselves out and Stax not quite as busy as normal. We snuck in and was able to grab a bite. Conor was amazing. We had an interesting tomato lobster bisque, some fried brussel sprouts, and carnitas tacos. We finished off with a brownie which was very good. The tomato lobster bisque was creamy with enough lobster bits to make sure the taste wasn't overdone by the tomato. The fried brussel sprouts were served with a lemon garlic aioli and were very nice. The carnitas tacos were served on a corn tortilla with salsa verde and were so very good. We were impressed by the food and Conor times everything perfectly. This is a place to schedule for a return visit, maybe a Saturday afternoon wine with some snacks would be lovely.

Great place for food and drinks. Sierra and the rest of the staff were super friendly on a very busy August16th 2020 Sunday afternoon. We had the Portobello mushroom and crab cake which both were excellent, especially the crab ! Good selection of wines and cold beer, much appreciated :)

This was a great find just on the outer edge of downtown Morro Bay, and well worth it. Outside seating is perfect with plenty of optional umbrellas…inside seating as well. I suggest splitting the tacos and or massive nachos…oh and 20oz beers on tap, yes please! Very reasonable prices, excellent service and tons of parking. Lunch/dinner but closes early so check times. Here’s an idea: hike the path up to top of Black Hill for great views, then wind your way down thru the state park and cross the street to a marina. The walk back to town is great as well.

The food here was amazing. It's right next to the harbor so the seafood is incredibly fresh. There is seating inside and out with great views of the harbor. My only complaint is the restrooms are not inside the restaurant but about a 3 minute walk from the restaurant.

We ordered the fish and chips, cod tostada (menu special) and the mud pie. It was all amazing! Fast service and good views. Would love to come back.

We had a great lunch at the Bayside Cafe today! Our food was delicious! My husband had a bacon cheese burger and I had a french dip. Yum!!! The portions were generous. The view was beautiful. We received excellent service.

I love the cafe where it sits right next to the Bay. The service there, amazing atmosphere, lovable, the food is good, but I think they just need to work on their chicken. A little bit, but other than that, not too expensive, perfect for gathering.

I love Everything about this place. I've been coming here since I was a kid and each time it's been a great experience and As a "tourist" its always appreciated. The Food is absolutely delicious, most notably the Sourdough Bowl California Chowder but Whatever you decide to order is a guaranteed treat! The servers have always been polite and informative and that view nesr the water is absolutely perfection. Especially with that morning fog just peering above the water. Just grab a coffee and enjoy the fresh cool air. Bayside Cafe is ALWAYS a must stop when I visit Morror Bay.

At the edge of the estuary walk paths, ample parking, laid back seaside dining indoors with large windows or patio with umbrellas..the clam chowder is excellent with a variety on the menu and daily specials..most important is the staff..attentive, happy, efficient

The view is great and the staff is friendly. The windows are very dirty and it ruins the experience. The prices are very high, even higher than Pier 39. The chairs are metal and have no cushion. It is not comfortable for what you pay. If the windows are clean, you can enjoy the view.

I recently stopped at this restaurant to enjoy a meal by the water, and it was a delightful experience. We were seated promptly, and I loved that they offered both indoor and outdoor seating with stunning views of Morro Rock. Our server was not only friendly but also very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was served promptly, and it not only looked visually appealing but also tasted fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience, and I am already looking forward to returning in the future.

It was wonderful. Being able to have our dog eat with us on the patio was awesome. I had a clam chowder bread bowl, my wife had the breakfast plate and Walter (our dog) had a puppy patty, The food was out quick and tasted great!! The amazing views of the marina and the sound of the seals nearby were a plus! I will be returning on our trips here.

The seafood pasta was so good. I wasn't expecting it to be like a soup, but I have zero complaints. Copious amounts of clams, shrimp, and fish. The noodles were perfectly cooked. It was fantastic. Service was very good as well. Welcoming and warm atmosphere. Waitress was very attentive and nice. Dined in the evening of the 12th of Sep.

Food and service is top notch... You have to try the clam chowder and lobster bisque!

Came back and got eggs Benedict this time. It was ok but not especially great. The service was ok. I ended up trying a couple of things here. The "grilled cheese" which isn't very much like what you expect a grilled cheese sandwich to be but is quite tasty in it's own right. And I also had the chicken sandwich which was fantastic as well. Pairing that with some local beers and a view of the water on the patio makes for a lovely experience. Stood around waiting to be seated for lunch. Looked to be understaffed. That's fine. But we decided to leave when the female waiter snapped at us while we were waiting for our existence to be acknowledged lol. No thank you. She might be overworked or stressed or going through a rough patch. I get it. I hope she feels better. But we definitely weren't going to pay to be around abrasive energy.

We had a great experience at The Great American Fish Company in Morro Bay! Even though it’s known for seafood, we ordered a kid’s cheeseburger with some seriously amazing steak fries and a huge, fresh salad loaded with all the trimmings—definitely big enough to share. The food quality was top-notch, and the service was friendly and prompt. We sat by the window and got to watch otters swimming by, which made the whole meal feel extra special. Afterward, we walked down to the docks to check out the boats. The whole place has a fun, laid-back beach town vibe that really adds to the experience. Highly recommend stopping by!

Been coming here since I was a kid. Something about this place that has that nostalgic feeling. This steak and seafood restaurant never disappoints. With great views and great service. Whether you just in town for quick bite, or celebrating something special. I highly recommend this place. Great American Fish Company, August 3, 2024 My daughter & me came here with some of her friend's & their family so we tried the "Fish & Chips" (fried) & my daughter got the "Clam Chowder" also & everything was so delicious & filling & so fresh plus the chips (french fries) was very tasty 😋 & I ❤️ always extra tart sauce with my fish & the servicer she had bought me 3 more serving so I was in tart sauce heaven & I put some on my chips! 🤤 & So before I forget the view is so freaking awesome & amazing from seeing everything out through the windows of the restaurant!!! It was our first time here but we will be back again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s & Thank You for making our day a very special one & a Great Job! 😎👍👍

Great views and staff. Me and friends came for the loaded clam chowder and there hardly any flavor at all. Plus can extra $10 for very meager extra toppings. Very disappointed.

Bought lunch fish-and-chips for almost $25 and received one piece of fish cut in 3 pieces. One was the size of a McDonald's chicken nugget and the largest piece was the size of half of a piece of what you should have received that was the largest of the 3 pieces. I guess moral to the story is, do not get your food to go or they will give you almost nothing for your money.

Been here before but my latest experience will have me looking elsewhere. The clam chowder was off, it lacked flavor, I peppered it like crazy to make it appealing. The mesquite fish and chips combo was okay. I did enjoy the smoky flavor but the fried fish was not that great. Fries were very salty, slaw was average. You can get this simple dish cheaper at the other local spots with a much more reasonable price. I wouldn't mind the price if only the quality was actually better. Service was okay, but the waitress was not fully attentive.

We stopped by Pizza Port for lunch and ordered takeout—a 16-inch pepperoni pizza, mozzarella sticks, and a salad. While the service was quick and efficient (credit to the team at the counter for doing their job well), the food itself was a mixed bag. Starting with the mozzarella sticks: they were disappointingly thick, yet hollow, with barely any cheese inside. The batter lacked seasoning, and no effort seemed to be made to enhance the flavor after cooking. To make matters worse, the marinara sauce was ice cold, which didn’t help the overall experience. The pizza was where the real letdown happened. While the presentation was solid—the pizza looked inviting—the execution fell short. The cheese was piled on so thick it became overwhelming, while the sauce was barely noticeable. What little sauce there was lacked seasoning, leaving the overall flavor flat. As someone who grew up in New York and knows what a great slice should taste like, this just didn’t measure up. It’s better than some of the generic options we get back home in California, but it doesn’t hold a candle to authentic NY-style pizza. On a positive note, the salad was fresh, and its presentation was well done. It was clear that some effort went into making the dishes visually appealing. That said, the service was fast and friendly, which was a bright spot in the experience. With better ingredients and a more balanced approach to seasoning and preparation, I’d gladly give Pizza Port another try. Food: ⭐⭐½ Presentation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Value: ⭐⭐⭐ Would I return? Great place for a quick bite with chill vibes. Food is pretty solid, staff is super friendly and accommodating. Its a quaint little spot with an outdoor patio aswell. My daughter and I split a pepperoni pizza and a meatball sub. I feel like these are two staples to every pizza joint and a good standard to judge quality. The dough was nice and thin with a little flop (could've cooked a few min longer in my opinion) and the sub was toasted to perfection on a delicious garlic loaf. 4.6 out of 5 shakers 🧂 I will definitely stop by again when in the area.

Ordered online for pick up. It was super easy. They have pizza and sandwiches and sell beer and stuff. Not the best pizza but it’s good enough. It’s like a good bad pizza. The dough was kind of soft and soggy. Loaded with toppings. Some would say it was a bit too heavy/ the crust for sure couldn’t support the weight. Great service. Easy interaction.

Pizza port used to be great pizza,we loved coming here . But after at least a year we decided to come back,Sadly a mistake. The Cheese on the pizza not even melted fully taste like a lunchable pizza 🤢! Don’t waste your money go to another pizza joint!!!

Short, sweet, right to the point. Fantastic pizza and excellent service. Wife, myself, and our daughter went here on Saturday, July 19th. The kids running the show were friendly, on the ball, and gave both excellent service and a pizza that is one of the best I've had anywhere. They were not skimpy with the cheese either. And we're talking just a basic classic pepperoni and cheese. It was maybe a tad bit greasier than I would've liked, but it wasn't anything that a napkin blot won't fix. Plus, it is flavor. Price was fair and reasonable. A straight across the board stark contrast to the disaster we had moments earlier a block away at a place that bills itself as a "barbecue" restaurant. About the only heads up I would give is that it's best to call your order in ahead of time. Saturday, late afternoon can be a bit of a wait. But that's a testament to how good both their food and service is. So that's on us and not a complaint at all. Very highly recommended.

Ordered pizza for takeout and it was a seamless process with great customer service. Pizza was very tasty. We ordered all varieties from regular crust to gluten free and vegan cheese. Toppings were just right and everything tasted great. And from what I saw there was a pretty good selection of canned beers and ciders. If you’re in town stop on by for a slice!!

Place used to be good but new changes are super weird. No more pizza by the slice. Tried to order a half cheese half combo pizza and the kid up front rang me up for a dollar for each individual ingredient of a combo pizza, ended up being over $21 dollars for a 10 inch pizza. Might be acceptable for artisan pizza, but not for a family restaurant with basic Sysco ingredients. Cancelled it and just went with cheese. I used to like coming here but probably won’t be back. Outdoor patio is still nice and family friendly though.

Whenever I get over to the Central Coast, I always make a point to stop at this wonderful cozy restaurant . Service is always excellent and the food is always fresh and delicious. I always get the Fish and Chips. Great place to have a great meal when in the Central Coast.

Our new favorite dining spot in Morro Bay. It sits about five blocks up a steep hill from restaurant row. Walking up was great for building our appetite! Everything we ordered was on point. More about quality than quantity. Great pie selection for dessert. Fish was very fresh and expertly cooked. Great service. A solid value.

We eat here often. We are locals. The staff are always friendly. When my mother passed we stopped going. When we were finally ready to return they still remembered our favorites. The food and service are wonderful. Don't wait for a holiday or special occasion go today you will see what I'm talking about.

Great food! They have so many options it’s amazing, you can pick between sea food, Mexican dishes, quick bites, amazing dessert options and breakfast all day! The service is great, extremely kind people! They are quick and friendly Place is always clean, great lighting, lots of parking spaces.

Had breakfast and the over medium eggs were perfect. Chicken-fried Steak could have used a bit more seasoning for my taste but otherwise we had a good meal. The service was awesome and the inside is clean and has a great vibe and decor. You can’t tell from the outside how cool it looks on the inside. The even have one of those revolving pie cases that had delicious looking pies. Will have to go back for pie and coffee.

I took myself out for breakfast for a breakfast date this morning. I got their oatmeal and french toast + 1 egg + sausage $15.95, which was all tasty. All three servers were attentive and quick to provide great customer service. Thank you ladies! 😁

Okay, I was told that this place was good. From what I've seen, it seems like they have plenty of customers. I normally don't order just one thing when I am eating Mexican food. I will oder a combination like tacos and a burrito, etc. During this visit, I just ordered three al pastor burritos. It was awful. I didn't finish it and gave the others away. This doesn't mean that they don't have other dishes that might be good. If I ever go again, I won't be ordering al pastor. I'm sorry, but it truly was awful.

One of the only places a family of 4 can still eat under $40. Pedestrian Mexican food, nothing too exciting but reliable and filling. Salsas are good and spicy. Good portions and friendly staff. Food travels well if you take it to go.

Easily the worst food in town… Taco Bell is worth the drive My dog (and I am not making this up) turned her nose up at it. Yea its cheap, but even then, you get less than what you pay for. The only good part of my meal was the cold Jarritos. Pretty sure that all the good reviews are employees and friends and family. This is the first time I have ever “reviewed” a restaurants food…. That’s how bad it is! With their great location, they could really make something cool happen there if they only tried.

We had very delicious tacos, rice and beans at Taco De Mexico. We tried the asada, pork chili verde and carnitas! Super tasty every one of them! The rice and refried beans were awesome too! They have plenty of parking too, which is rare for the area Stop in and grab a taco or two! 10 stars 2 thums up! Bravo!

Super yummy, came here during night and it wasn’t too crowded, I was able to find a seat and eat at the restaurant. The woman who served us was very sweet and super quick to get our food out, this is one of the only places that has lengua in SLO county!!

Food was pretty good. My kids enjoyed it. Chile verde wasn't spicy, but had good flavor. Beans were good, rice was garlicky and spicy - I liked it. Wife had chicken flautas that she enjoyed. Chicken in the quesadilla was marinated and juicy. Overall good food that I wouldn't mind eating again next time we're in town.

Visited Shine Cafe and found it to be just okay. The food was pretty average – I tried the TLT and a bagel, and while they were both edible, neither had much flavor to speak of. It felt like something was missing that could have made the dishes stand out. The atmosphere didn’t help either; none of the staff seemed particularly enthusiastic, which took away from the overall vibe. Overall, it’s an acceptable spot if you’re in a pinch, but there’s nothing here that would make me rush back.

Found this lil gem on my gluten free app. I enjoyed my meal and the music. The staff was knowledgeable about gluten free and best part was I had a vegan meal with lots of flavor and immunity shot. I love Morro Bay and can’t wait to try the buckwheat pancakes.

So many amazing looking options for vegans! We tried the tempeh taco, jackfruit tacos, and island smoothie. Everything was so good. The tempeh taco looks more like a large salad with a taco on the side. The cilantro cream dressing was delicious. Everything we got had lots of flavor and felt like you were eating something nourishing. Very casual eating environment, which we liked. Highly recommend!

We ordered the tempeh tacos, black bean tostada, jackfruit carnitas street tacos, t.l.t., Asian slaw salad and spring rolls. The Asian salad was drenched in dressing, way too much. The spring rolls fell apart so easily. Maybe they should be double wrapped. The tacos lacked flavor or some seasoning. The only dish that was finished was the t.l.t. Disappointing meals. FYI any order over $80 has a 20% additional surcharge. So the meal came out to almost $120 for 4 people and 3 drinks. Not worth it.

Great little vegan spot next to the health food store. We ordered the shine sandwich they recommended but it fell apart. It tasted good though! Also a bit weird, I asked the lady if she could wipe the table for us (we have a 1 year-old son) and she pointed to a dirty rag and said “go for it.” So hold my kid and wash my own table, just after throwing $4 cash tip in the jar for one sandwich.. got it. They closed while we were eating and didn’t seem to like us there that late in their day (even though we were fast). Anyway great menu and inside is cozy plus they have outdoor seating. I’d go back for a smoothie, they looked great. Maybe a different sandwich that doesn’t fall apart when you pick it up (bread good but broke as soon as I touched it on both halves).

Lovely place with lots of vegan options Loved it. The juice blends were refreshing fresh and great combinations. The breakfast taco was extremely flavourful and it was great to have a vegan pancake which was made with healthy buckwheat. The bagel sandwich was delicious too. We took a take out of vegan tiramisu and chocolate and strawberry balls which was awesome. Love this small vegan vegetarian cafe with its lovely friendly staff and service. Must visit if in Morro bay.

The service could have been way better. I waited 6 minutes to be seated, even being the only party waiting. There were about 4 tables in the entire restaurant, so being busy was not an excuse. When we were eventually seated, the server disappeared for a bit. It left a bad taste in my mouth. The server did come back around and the food was decent. Nothing to write home about. The flavor was a little bland and the Chile relleno was undercooked. The price was decent, but with everything else considered, it was overpriced. Better service and more flavor will make this place a winner. Chips and salsa are $2.95??? I've never paid for them in any Mexican restaurant. There is also a one refill max policy on soft drinks. Just thought to mention these two things.

A small restaurant hidden in a muddle. Stopped in on a whim for an early lunch. Authentic, cozy and welcoming, we had a seat just inside. The doors were propped open with a cool sea breeze flowing through. Ordered guacamole and bean dip for an appetizer with the Best Horchata I’ve had in years! For the order we had the Chimichangas plate with rice and beans. Just Wow!! All homemade down to the salsas and horchata! Liz wat Thee best! Thank you guys and Mad Love to the chef!!!! ❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️

Had the best carne asada ever. They use NY strip loin and cook it to order ( preferably medium rare ). I've had the steak and eggs breakfast and the carne asada tampequeno. Delicious

The food was absolutely wonderful. From the start of the warm chips and yummy salaa. To the two dishes we ordered. Our waitress, wish I caught her name, was very nice and helpful. The food was full of flavor and the prices very reasonable. This was our first visit but will be back when we are in Morro Bay again.

Just ok. 2nd time I have ordered a breakfast burrito to go. The 1st time it was pretty dry, bland, and missing cheese. So this time I ordered it wet and with extra cheese. Still dry inside and zero cheese. I had to doctor it up at home with hot sauce, cheese, and a bit of sour cream. I should have just made my own. Now I know : /

Great Sports bar. Sad we missed the live bands. The lemon warmest wings were big, tender, crisp, and juicy. Drinks good and the bartender friendly with a good pour.

We've had some fun nights here over the years. ! It's great that they change up the food and cocktail menu regularly, so there's always a new drinks/bites to try, I've never had a bad cocktail here. There is a nice patio in the back with fireplace and games available. It has a stage for bands and concerts with great sound. We love coming for the live music and end up meeting new friends! On some nights they can get really busy but the service is great and everyone is really friendly. The owners have really put love and effort into this place over the years to transform it into the entertaining venue it is today ❤️ Parking on the street USB chargers under bar. There's a cover charge at the door some nights.

The live music is amazing! The bartender was friendly, and the people attending were all having a great time. There's pool tables also.

My first experience at the siren was great! Free pool, variety of beers. I believe jason was my bartender, Real cool guy the owners son if im not mistaken. My second time was good for a bit until i mentioned where i worked after being asked by a patron. From that moment i was treated like i wasnt there. Went to the restroom and came back, my coaster as well as my drink was gone, i got the hint, i tried several times to get the bartenders (cacausian guy with earings in his 50s id say) attention, he was a foot away from me and completely ignored me. Sad that personal politics have made their way into the work place and local businesses. I dont think ive ever felt more unwelcome somewhere unfortunately me or my family will not be returning. 10/1/25. 7-9pm

Stopped by for breakfast before our tour of Morro Bay. First thing, I was very impressed with the decor. Restaurant was extremely clean and very well decorated. The staff was super friendly. When it comes to the food, they have a great combination of traditional dishes as well as some new takes on old classics. I recommend this as a stop if you are in Morro Bacy.

The food was great , however my menudo was 18,my son's burrito was 18,my daughter's 18, it came out with drinks 60 but when the waitress brought my ticket it was 75 and by the time I got to register it was $89.99 + the tip I found kinda wrong , basically it was a 29 dollar tax for a 60 dollar food plus tip came out $120.00 with tip never ever will I dine there again ever please check your receipt twice 🙏 🙏 🙏 🧾🧾🧾🧾🧾

Restaurant feels and tastes authentic. By far our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area, even their breakfast is killer. We were here for a week and ate there multiple times, waits are short and staff is friendly. I highly recommend eating here, for any meal of the day, as every bite we had was delicious. Update to this review: We have continued coming here the last few years and have a great experience every visit. Owners are super kind and remember us every visit! The food is as good if not better as when we started coming here, and portion sizes are great. Highly recommend over similar restaurants nearby.

Wow, Morro Bay dockside now has a great Mexican restaurant! The salsa with the chips was fresh, the chips homemade. My Chile Relleno burrito was huge and very tasty. Great Guacamole too. Fresh iced tea. Nicely appointed inside! My first visit and I look forward to many more.

We stopped by to watch sea otters, and this was the perfect place for a light, refreshing meal on a road trip. The poke bowl was absolutely good — fresh, flavorful, and a generous portion. I usually don’t like ginger or onion, but their pickled ginger and onions were good. (But they put too much in one bowl. ) The salad was a nice surprise — super fresh and exactly what I needed after days without enough veggies. I wish I had asked for less sauce, but that’s just my preference since I usually eat lighter on dressing. For most people, it’d probably be just right. The sauce is also good. Note: this is a more self-serving place, at least at lunchtime. I don’t mind and even enjoy it. The only staff/owner in the dining area is also very helpful.

During our visit to Chowa Bowl, we were absolutely delighted by the experience. We tried the Rock Shoyu Ramen, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Delicious and flavorful with fresh, quality ingredients that made each bite a pleasure. The service was authentically warm, adding to the overall fantastic dining experience. The atmosphere was inviting and intimate, making it a perfect spot for a cozy meal. Additionally, the restaurant was impeccably clean, which added on to the awesome experience of our visit. I 10/10 recommend Chowa Bowl and am looking forward to our next visit!

I came all the way from New Jersey to try the best poke bowl I've ever encountered. The freshness of the ingredients, the fabulous flavor pairings coupled with a generous but not overwhelming portion was perfect. I can't say enough about how much I loved my meal!

I can’t wait To come back again. My ahi tuna poke bowl was Deeelicious. All the flavors came through from every ingredient, I had to slow myself down to take my time and enjoy my dish.this was my dish , I didn’t have to share 😊 Luckily they opened a second location in Pismo, so I know I’ll be a regular for sure. Small indoor eating area indeed with Lovely decor and wall coverings. They also have seating outside. Maybe it’s been a while since I’ve really had a good poke bowl. It’s about time.

This poke bowl was amazing! The rice with spicy mayo made it amazing, but not too spicy! I put some Sriracha on and it was perfect! The beef skewers are amazing and the beer prices are the best in Pismo. Plus all the employees there are very nice, and the restaurant was very clean. I can't wait to come back here and try more!

If your just visiting or a local, this place is a must try, dont be surprised if its your new favorite place to eat. Everything on the menu is delicious, flavorful & fresh. The staff is wonderful & welcoming. 10/10 :)

As someone with a gluten allergy, it has been forever since I've had an Italian sub. And though this wasn't a true sub, it hit the spot for me! Their gluten-free bread can hold up to this piled-high sandwich, and the flavors were just what I was craving!

I usually avoid sandwich shops because, let’s be honest—a lot of them suck. The bread is dry, the toppings taste old, and the meat is… well, questionable. But not this place! I was genuinely impressed. My sandwich was delicious—no complaints at all. The bread was fresh, the toppings tasted great, the oil and vinegar were perfectly balanced, and yes, the meat actually tasted good. This will definitely be my go-to sandwich spot whenever I’m in town. Everyone needs a solid sandwich place! The service was friendly, the wait was short, and the sandwich hit the spot. If you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s worth a stop. I’ve been coming to MB for years and only just now gave this place a try. Should’ve done it sooner.

We tried the Killer Pastrami sandwiches and were not disappointed. I'm pretty picky about pastrami, but they do their's right. We loved their Dutch crunch rolls. The service is friendly and the portions and taste is worth the money. We'll definitely go back, but I recommend not going during the lunch hour if you are on your break, they get really busy on account of how good the food is.

We got the Pea Soup, the hot pastrami! & the French dip! Highly recommend. the dip juice is to die for! We went looking for a pizza shop. However, the smell of this tiny little gem stopped us dead in our tracks!

I am a Los Osos local and in Morro Bay so much of the time and I just discovered this place. The food was excellent and the service was great. The staff were all super friendly. One of the best sandwiches I have had in a while and my new favorite sandwich shop in Morro Bay. I can't wait to go back and definitely recommend trying it out! There is something for everyone, especially with the build your own and it was plenty of food and affordable. My favorite part is the Dutch crunch bread!

Cute shop. Clean. Food was great! I had the meatball sub and hubby had the Italian. Doesn’t skimp on ingredients either so worth the money. Left full and happy. Daughter and nephew enjoyed the pizzas, and nephew said it was the best he had. Lisa and Dave from Matt’s give it two thumbs up. 👍👍

Enjoyed the roast beef dip hot sandwich. We ordered it for take out and waited for it. They said it would be 15-20 minutes and it only took about 10, which we did not mind. The sandwiches came with a hearty portion of au jus which was very flavorful. The sandwich had plenty of meat on a crunchy French roll. I would definitely get it again. The staff is always very friendly.

Our server Max was honestly one of the best servers we've had. He kept checking on us refilling our drinks just very attentive. Definitely impressed and will be coming back on our next visit. Oh yeah and get the garlic fries!!! So amazing.

My fiance and I went to Duchman's for the first time two weeks ago and we've been talking about since. This was one of our favorite dining experience. The food was fast, fresh and delicious. The service, Sam and Eric were amazing. We are on our way back to Morro Bay now to celebrate my fiance's birthday and we might end up doing lunch and dinner at Dutchman's.

Really good restaurant. We have Crab cake, Mai tai and Cioppino yesterday. All those are delicious. Today we have Oyster and Salmon are very good. Local Rock Cod is ok, but the fish is really fresh. Cook tail I have Mai Tai and Bloody Mary, I prefer Mai Tai, Bloody Mary is more suitable for lady. And our servicer name is Taylor, he’s really friendly. If you can’t decide what to eat, you can always ask him. And this restaurant is near sea, you can saw inland sea and Morro Rock at the window.

We have come here for about 10 years, as part of our family vacation tradition. We enjoy the view from our tables, along with our cocktails, steaks, and seafood---SOOOO GOOD! My teens loved their salmon plate and very lightly breaded fish/chips platter with garlic fries. The shrimps are always so plump and tasty. Best yet, plenty of adult beverages to choose from, and very reasonably priced! Lastly, the service was great, which added to the whole great experience. This is why we come back every year!

The view is great BUT the food is below average. The fish was frozen and had batter with no seasoning. The shrimp had same batter and no flavor. The onions rings tasted pretty good. We didn’t enjoy our food and we all agreed it was below average. The price is above average; $110 for 3 people… I highly recommend finding another restaurant if you enjoy very good food. I was a little disappointed as we read previous reviews.

Beware!! New ownership and quality has tanked. We have been going here for years and always loved it. This weekend we took my parents for my dad's birthday. First I asked if they gave a birthday treat and they said they don't do that anymore. Then my husband and dad ordered the fish and chips on the specials menu that specifically said three pieces of fish. When they brought out 2 pieces each my husband asked for the missing third piece only to be told "we changed it. Now you get to bigger pieces." The two pieces were quite small for a $28 special. My chopping was almost flavorless other than the burnt taste and the seafood in it was overcooked and rubbery. The only good thing I can say is the waitress was very kind and understanding and even tried to get the cook to just give us the third piece of fish. He said no. He would rather take back the two plates of food and throw them away than comply with what the menu said. Unbelievable!

It has been several years since the last time I stopped in, being the food was bad on my last. So, decided to stop in over the weekend hoping it was better! Sadly, definitely was not… Don’t even know where to start… I will say the service was friendly as always, but that’s where it ended. I got the Spinach, Mushroom & cream cheese omelette, subbed the potatoes with fruit. The omelette was horrible, fruit was what it is (definitely didn’t taste remotely fresh) & the biscuits were good. Water for tea tasted like it just came out of the ocean. It’s unfortunate! Been coming here for many, many years & not sure what happened. This is the place that got me stuck on spinach & mushroom omelettes. No, I did not “complain” about my food. I simply ate it & was on my way. All in all: Friendly staff, semi cozy, where it ends.

Classic waffle breakfast- good waffle, really nice and simple. I enjoyed this one. Seafood Benedict was generous in the amount of seafood, nicely cooked shrimp - really happy about this as well! All in all great experience- would come by again

Mouthwatering food, EVERY TIME! Anything on the menu and every time you will have a fabulous meal served by amazing humans such as Ms. Sienna who was my delightful waitress who was just great energy and kindness! Sue made sure my coffee was topped off and almost had to get a wheelbarrow to take me back to my car….Geesh! I did it again and ate too much! I ordered the two pork chops with two eggs over medium crispy, crunchy country fried potatoes with the biscuits and gravy and a black coffee. Of course, the green Cholula. I’m drooling right now and so sad I’m almost 4 hours away, but totally look forward to coming back in a couple months for another amazing dining experience with employees like Sienna and cooks in the back turning out that kind of delicious food. Mr. Vido and I will gladly be back and continue spending our money there! Thank you Sienna and fantastic cooks

My granddaughters and I stopped here for brunch. Tobey, our server, is friendly and well-engaged. We came in the middle of the week, so it was not crowded, and we got served right away.

Yum! Biscuit and gravy! Good coffee and cinnamon roll! Nice and warm and gooey! Love the outside patio and Android corned beef and hash with biscuits and gravy. Waitress was a little bit grumpy 😕

I don’t usually write reviews like this, but here we are. We decided to give Carla’s a try on our last morning in town — and unfortunately, we regret it. For a business that’s been around a long time, the issues we experienced shouldn’t exist. We were seated after a short wait, but it took nearly 10 minutes before anyone came by for our drink order, and another 10 before our server attempted to take our food order. Twice she had to stop mid-order because “the kitchen was calling her.” On her third try, she finally got it all down. (We overheard her telling the manager about the number of tables she’d been assigned — clearly, staffing was an issue.) Thirty minutes into our visit, we received muffins, toast, and biscuits with gravy — all lukewarm. I’m sure they could’ve been delicious if served hot. Another 10–15 minutes later, just as we were about to leave, our main dishes arrived. One order was wrong (scrambled instead of over-medium eggs), and the rest of the plates had clearly been sitting; once again, the food was lukewarm at best. For first-time visitors, be aware: Carla’s automatically adds a 20% tip for parties of six or more. We paid and left quietly, but if the manager had stopped by, we would have gladly shared our experience directly.

Drive down, thinking of good Fish and Chips for lunch the entire way. Hit Morro Bay around 1:00. Walked around a bit, remembered this place from a couple years back and stopped in. Small joint, nice enclosed patio. Ordered lunch and the Fish and Chips were awesome! Top 5 i've had. The batter was light and crunchy, the fish was steaming hot. They know how to do it here. Wife had a Cobb salad. Good view of the Morro rock and the bay. Really enjoyed lunch, got to pet the sweet older doggy at the next table Good times!

We had a perfect experience at Rose’s! Our group ordered six different dishes, with several special requests and modifications, and everything came out exactly as we wanted. The waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, making the whole dinner even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!

We've stopped at Rose's in Morrow a few times now And it's always been great. This time though we (I) had an issue with my order (and potentially a bad one) BUT I have to say our waitperson totally took care of it super professionally and with courtesy & understanding. The issue did not sour me on the place, quite the opposite. They handled it perfectly and we left still feeling good about Rose's and will definitely go back! And the view - ah, always amazing!

Good food, and good service. A bit of a wait on a Saturday night. Shrimp scampi pasta was good.

We had a good dinner here! They have a good selection of tiki drinks and a nice menu. My steak was cooked as asked and my husband enjoyed his fish. The sides were basic but tasty. The view of the rock is very pretty!

Great location, good service, average food. Cocktails were a good start and patio seating so a great view of the harbor. Server was helpful if a touch slow, perhaps too many tables to manage, but not enough to cause problems. We had appetizers and the oysters tasted fresh. All the food was ok, nothing spectacular but not bad at all. It's the location like all the places we've been to on the boardwalk. Great spot to stop, good enough service and reasonably tasting food at elevated pricing.

My daughter and her fiancé were married in Morro Bay February 22, 2025. We had an amazing “Wedding Weekend” filled with a Welcoming Party on Friday evening, a ceremony and reception on Saturday, and a Farewell Brunch on Sunday. We decided to host the Farewell Brunch at the Harbor Hut. Harbor Hut stepped up and ended our “Wedding Weekend” with superb service, food and drinks! Max, the general manager, was wonderful to work with and accommodated all of our guests (approximately 50) with amazing customer service. Max allowed us to created a personalized brunch menu that included entree choices, the newlyweds names, and specialty drinks. Such a nice personal touch! The staff was friendly and fun- just like the ambience and decor of the Harbor Hut. It was such a relief to end our weekend of celebrations here- We had to add absolutely nothing to prepare the space! The Harbor Hut has a unique tiki/surfer vibe and hosts a beautiful view of Morro Bay across the back of the restaurant. Cheers to Max and the Harbor Hut Family. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate with all of you and for providing a wonderful ending to our “Wedding Weekend” celebration in Morro Bay. We highly recommend Harbor Hut when looking for a great restaurant in Morro Bay.

This is definitely our favorite restaurant in Morro Bay. We've been here multiple times and have had a great experience each one. The food is outstanding! This might be insignificant to some, but I LOVE their Caesar Salad. I feel funny doting on a salad, but it's so unique, and I crave it majority of the year - ha! But you can't go wrong with anything you order here. Just sit back, enjoy eating alongside the amazing view, and plan your next trip back.

I WANTED TO ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE SO BAD! The waitress was excellent, the service was excellent, the view was phenomenal! But the food…… oh my… the chowder tasted like nothing. I had an Asian salad that was def a frozen or microwaved chewy chicken breast. Stir fry Frozen veggie mix in a salad? Like really? Cut a fresh pepper bro, we’re in CA. Lettuce was fresh at least…. Fish and chips, fish were good, not over bartered like a lot of places, but again, fries, no seasoning 🤭…..at this point we were just like give me all the salt and pepper. It was just a letdown. We walked by the outdoor burger hut, and that area smelled flavorful.🤣

Awesome pub to chill and completely relax. They had a live band playing which kept the place toe tapping vibrant and fun. Amazing singer and band players: “Live Again Band “ lead singer was Alex from Santa Cruz. Good varieties of beers some wines and they make 3 types of mimosas. As usual they serve bar food which is not bad. The best part is that they are right on the harbour front so when you dine and drink one can gaze deep into the ocean.

Great food and beer. Ordered fish & chips as well as shrimp & chips. The shrimp tasted better than the fish. Also ordered the fried pickles and they were delicious. The beer selection was great, but you have to order everything at the bar so there's no table service. Also, it had great views of Morro Bay but the windows were really dirty.

Top notch beer. Lovely sours. Highly recommend getting the flights of sours. You can enjoy some tasty appetizers that complement the beer. Very friendly staff. they can educate you on the beer menu to help you find your drink of choice. Awesome atmosphere. Right next to the water. You'll probably spot a seal lion!

Paul the bartender, thank you for treating everyone as equals whether they know everything or nothing about beer. You were friendly, told stories, checked on the patrons and I can tell you really dig your job. 10/10 The view is great 10/10 the food is decent 4/10. The beer is good 8/10. The only thing we always notice (because we visit every-time we are in Morro) is that the space could use a bit more aesthetic love. We get that it’s a funky eclectic place, but looks run down and we wish the owners would take a bit more pride in the condition of the environment.

Wish this was in my hood. $10 wine pour of some of the best central coast has to offer. Really good beer selection, and the food was amazing. Totchos are my new favorite thing. The jalepeno popper things were amazing too. They were playing 40oz to freedom start to finish which is amaze. Great view of the bay, screens to catch up on sports, a ping pong table and ultra friendly and helpful staff. Literally couldn't ask for anything else.

This place is what you make of it. I always have fun. Libertine offers a stellar view of the rock and the bay's activities. They have a nice beer selection and good food. We had a beer sampler which gave us a chance to enjoy several flavors, along with a tasty lunch which consisted of fish tacos, fish 'n chips and salads. They even offer Coors Lite and Bud Lite if those speak to you. Be prepared to get a bit shamed for ordering them though, lol. This is a cool dark bar, go check it out.

Super fun atmosphere, had live music while we were there. I loved the mimosas especially because they did not skimp out on the champagne. Staff was also very nice and attentive!

They had good food. I enjoyed the curry and drunken noodles really well. The fried spring rolls was not very impressive. It could use more time on the fryer on higher temp. I love the decors and the ambience. Usually, visitors to Morro Bay will choose fish n chips an restaurants by the water but this Thai restaurant was a better choice for us that night since we wanted a break from seafoods. Service was quick and servers were attentive.

Overall I liked the place. Good food, really good friendly quick service. Pineapple fried rice was really good. The curries could have been a bit thicker but still good. Tasty food. Good place to take family. Parking can be a bit difficult on the street. There is a parking lot nearby but be careful and watch for signs. In a place that’s dominated by seafood restaurants, this was a good find.

When I walked into this restaurant, it was packed! I knew it had to be good based on the crowd, and I was right. Great service, delicious food, and fantastic prices! I definitely recommend it. The Jungle Curry was delicious and came in a good portion, and the Pad Thai was also very good. There is plenty of 2-hour free street parking, and after 6 pm, you can park for as long as you want.

Absolutely love this place, grew up in Morro Bay Area and always come back to it. The food has always been incredible and lives up to my expectations of some great Thai food. I can’t think of a time I came here and either had a bad experience or disliked the food. On top of the amazing dishes, their service is amazing with relatively quick orders, inclusive staff and lack of issues ordering. Love the area and location, just wish maybe one day the seating area is expanded to invite more people to enjoy Thai elephant. I recommend either the green curry or of course some good chicken pad Thai.

Our go-to for Pad Thai here locally. Have also enjoyed the Mongolian Beef and fried egg rolls. We always do take-out.

What a delicious Thai food we had yesterday night. We were traveling on Highway 1 and decided to have a night stay in Morro Bay. After a full day of travel we all were hungry and decided to find a Thai Restaurant for dinner. The food was great, service was fast and portion size was perfect. We enjoyed our dinner.

It's a nice place to get breakfast with a great view of the rock. The staff were pleasant, and the food was pretty good. The power wrap was a bit wet on the inside, but I would rather that than a super dry wrap.

My wife and I stumbled across Goddess Goods in Morro Bay and I am so glad we did. I went with the strawberry cream matcha with whole milk and let me tell you, it did not last long at all. It was gone in minutes. That combo of earthy matcha with the sweet cream and strawberry just hit different. Super smooth, not chalky at all like some matchas can be, and perfectly balanced. The lady working there was honestly the best part of the visit. She went above and beyond helping us choose a drink. There were a ton of options with different house-made syrups and creams and she made it fun to pick something. You could tell she genuinely cared that we found something we’d enjoy. The vibe inside was super laid-back and beachy with a little wellness feel to it, and the place just felt like a local favorite. Definitely the kind of spot you remember and want to come back to. If you like matcha or even just want to try something new that’s not your typical coffee shop menu, this place is worth a stop.

So yummy! They have an extensive drink and breakfast menu; I had a hard time deciding but you can’t go wrong, everything sounded so good. Nutty buddy smoothie was delicious, as well as the matcha latte. The food tasted very fresh and was the perfect thing I needed after a bad stomach day yesterday 💚

I tried the Lox Bagel which has Toasted Everything Bagel, Cream Cheese, Salmon, Avocado, Capers, Red Onions, and cucumber. It was the most delicious combo I've ever had. Also, they had a very delicious latte. Great breakfast spot view a view of Morro Rock

We had great vegan smoothies here. The favorite was for me the pink panter, but the yellow submarine and 24 carrot were also amazing! The power wrap was also great, well seasoned quinoa. I would definitely try more of the stuff if I stayed longer.

Lox & bagel was okay but improperly constructed. First the menu description doesn’t mention the honey lemon dill sauce. I would have told them to leave it off if I had known. The cappers and red onions weren’t placed on the scant cream cheese (for $13.50 you can at least get generous with the cream cheese), but placed top of the salmon, rolling off. But my biggest complaint is the excessive wait. 40 minutes to get a simple uncooked product that should have been done in 5 minutes. The owner will likely dispute everything I have stated. Go ahead. But I recommend you take my advice and you will have a better product.

Older motel with clean rooms, great views from the view king rooms, spacious room, nice deck for viewing the harbor with privacy from your neighbors. Walkable to most of the waterfront. Just fat enough away from the seals to hear them but not be kept awake by them. Good water pressure. The breakfast option is weak but there are good breakfast places nearby. Easy access to highway.

We went to Morro Bay for a 3 day getaway. I wanted a room close to the esplanade with a view of the water that wasn't priced outrageously. This one had good reviews and liked what I saw. The front desk is AWESOME. Gave me great recommendations for restaurants and was just really friendly.

The rooms have an older vibe, but nothing wrong with them. Location is great - right across the street from the shops and the water. Front desk staff is phenomenal. Super friendly and helpful. Would stay here again! It was quiet one morning. The next morning a sea lion was in the water barking non stop.

Quiet and convenient. Our room faced east, so no ocean view but it was at the end of the hall, so very quiet. The grab and go breakfast bags are a convenient way to start the day. It's a short walk to the main ocean area, and equally convenient to restaurants on Main Street. Recommended.

Fantastic hotel. Everything was nice. Very charming and Everything I hoped it would be. The view was incredible!! Wish we could stay longer.

Split a burger between three of us after we saw the sign saying Business Insider ranked them #36 in the USA. Absolutely delicious! The chili dog was tasty too. Jalapenos were super flavorful as well. 100% recommend this restaurant. Has a friendly family atmosphere

Hamburgers were very good, cooked nicely and not overdone. My husband had a shack burger and I had the beach bum. The toppings were all very fresh. You have to try fries when trying a burger place so we did. We aren't a fan of these type of fries although they had a good taste and were not overcooked. There is no eat in area but there outside dining area is nice and frequently wiped down. We took ours to go. All in all a good experience, would do it again maybe trying their fried shrooms next time.

Wee Shack was amazing. The burgers were a little expensive but the quality justifies the price. The meat was very high quality and the Patty was thick. Our party had 4 different kinds of burgers and all were just fantastic variations on the basic Shack Burger. The fries seemed exactly like In-n-Out. They had good beer on tap at the bar area. There was a nice outdoor courtyard. The butter toffee cookie we got to-go was also delicious. The service was friendly and relatively fast.

I tried the shack burger and it was so yummy. The fries were also good. But that burger ugh amazing. Would definitely go again to try a different one! Enjoyed it by the rock. Service was good and staff was kind. Cant wait to go again.

Business insider says it’s part of the top 50 burgers in the country, I say it’s the top 10 in the county and number 1 in the stomach! Best burger in slo county and in flavor town.

Excellent Burgers (I had the John Wayne - a tasty Chipotle sauce and a juicy patty topped with a crispy beer battered onion ring) and delicious fries that are hand cut daily - cooked to perfection, not undercooked like that one famous hand cut fry place. They have a good selection of beers on tap, non alcoholic beverages, and hand made shakes. I will be back.

As a couple of reviews note, this place is a bit pricey for a burger joint; we paid $36 for two burgers and two orders of tater tots. But the quality is excellent. We had the Shack and John Wayne burgers and both were fresh and flavorful. Toppings were also fresh and the tots were delicious. Recommended.

What kind of operation are they running here? This is the worst hot fudge Sunday I've ever seen! I asked for it with nuts, and they served the nuts in a plastic container on the side. What was the point in that? There weren't enough peanuts to taste. This can't be almost seven dollars worth of ice cream. They should be ashamed of themselves. I was so looking forward to this. What a disappointment. Never again! Never again! SMH

Was craving a burger and fries, then found this place. Staff was extremely friendly and seemed to be very happy! Food was fast, fresh, and perfectly prepared. Really enjoyed the ice cream and fries! Would recommend this spot.

Fosters is a long time staple for me. But since a lot of them are closing it’s a pleasure to have one in Morro Bay. The food is still great and the fries are the best, but unfortunately the prices are sky high. For just the classic combo it was $15. Nostalgia is expensive these days. I do still love it and I just eat it less.

They would rather force an elderly woman to poop in her pants than let her use the restroom before paying for something. Which is exactly what they did to one of the people I was with today. Very rude staff. She said “please, I’m about to poop my pants” and started crying (it’s her birthday) and the person at the counter said “paying customers only, sorry”. The woman’s husband came in and paid for a drink so she could use the restroom but by then it was too late. Absolutely disgusting and disrespectful staff. Should be fired on the spot for robbing an elderly woman of basic decency and dignity.

You can't go wrong with some Fosters Freeze ice cream! Their food is good too. Some things on the menu are quite expensive, but everything is these days. On summer weekends, this place can get kind of crazy, so plan accordingly!

The service we received is deplorable. The place was open when we arrived and we placed our order as usual, but when we received our food, they kicked us out to close. The food was terrible, the chicken was burnt, the fries were cold. I don't recommend it. They were only concerned about charging. If they're going to serve like this, they'd better let us know before they sell.

I came two and a half hours to morro bay from Kerman, California, not for the rock or the beach, but because of my love for Taco Bell. Words cannot express my displeasure with the service I received nor the experience in which I had to endure, but I will make the effort to use them nonetheless. I waited over half an hour for my meal me when all I wanted was a simple deluxe combo to impede my starvation; a Mountain Dew to quench my thirst. I left the Taco Bell that day a fragmented man, a man who now knew the suffering of starving kids in Africa. I will never travel two and a half hours for Taco Bell again. thanks a lot morro bay Taco Bell. I think the rock was more attentive to my me as a consumer and paying customer than the employees at the Taco Bell that day.

After I ordered my food, I went to use the restroom. The restroom was so filthy it showed a lack of caring by the Taco Bell at that location. If the restroom was that bad, what about the rest of the restaurant? There was fecal matter on the toilet, floor and wall. It was dry and flaky so it was not new. The sink looked like it had not been cleaned in at least a month. I paid $27.09 for food that I threw away because there is no way I would eat from there.

I waited from 9:14 PM to 9:50 PM for an order. It was not a large order. It was one of their deluxe box orders. I originally ordered inside the establishment, and was told that next time to go through the drive-through because they are on drive-through timers. Unfortunately, this is a common theme at this restaurant. While I was waiting for my order, one customer walked out without even being able to place an order because there was no one at the counter, another who had already placed an order, asked for a refund because they had to leave after waiting for about 15 minutes.

No greating. The young man mumbled into the speaker, I asked him twice and it sounded like move up. I get to the window, the young man asked who took my order. I told him I heard move up. He proceeds to tell me he said are you using the mobile app. I said no. He looks at me and tells me I have to re-enter the drive through and go back to the end of the line. Restaurant 101 is to always take care of your customer. So I went to berger king was treated as a valued guest. I ended up spending more there due to how I was treated. I don't expect they will reach out. But I will not be going to that location again.

Ordered take-out with inside pickup. Food was promised at 6:06...came out at 6:16. They prioritize drive-thru over counter. Food is Taco Bell, it's not 5-star but you know what you're getting.

This place will never have good costumer service, seems like it gets worse by the day. Guy on Saturday night drive thru 6/14/25 always give me an attitude. Seems like he really hates his job. Sad this place has never improved.

It took 30 min to receive our food. When we got back home, we were missing several items and my chicken cantina bowl was missing ingredients as well.

Omg Haven’t had Mickey D’s this good for a long time The fries refresh I ordered a six dollar meal and the hamburger literally had onions all over with pickles literally not just bunched up in the center. Very good. Made a mistake with my drink and he did not and she did not get upset to fix it. They gladly did it. Good service n fast I don’t know why not five stars

35 years ago the quality of the beef patties we're stellar. However now, the beef patties have a strange smell to them. And where are the salads? McDonald's used to have the greatest salads. The outside tables are completely dirty and look like they have not been wiped off in months. The service was great the food is lacking , and to be able to eat outside on a great day is hard at a dirty table.

Excellent service. The filet-o-fish sandwiches were as they were at any other Mickie-D's. The restaurant was clean. Electric car charging is available in the parking lot.

Stopped for some breakfast. Nice clean restaurant and the cashier taking our order was super nice.

Went to go pick up my breakfast didn't have water to make any drinks tried to comp my $4 smoothie with a $1.50 water so now they're just taking my money and offering me no better solution next time we'll be canceling order and going somewhere else.

I got a bagel with eggs and cheese that’s it and they put some sort of sauce like tartar sauce or a fish sauce it was so gross I almost threw up and had to throw it away.

Get your food to go. The tables are tiny, and the chairs are very uncomfortable. Food and staff are great, very fast. 08/31/25 Received a egg Mcmuffin, it tasted terrible. Probably because it wasn't event my order. Whoops again.

Okay, I love a good burger, and Burger King has good burgers for a fast food restaurant. No surprise, we know what to expect from BK. If you find yourself wishing for a different tasting whopper, you're in luck. They sell a variety to choose from. I oder a regular double with cheese and then ask for their barbecue sauce and put it on. It's a good tasting burger.

I added the picture of what I ordered and this is what I was given tonight. Online it says they’re open. And they were still accepting orders. My food had no vegetables, the mozzarella fries are burnt, they gave the wrong drink, and gave us. They charged me for a large fry that they charged me for and didn’t even get that either.

By far the most cleanest and friendliest Burger King I’ve been too. Also the food looked exactly like what was on the menu compared to other ones I’ve been too.

Great place to eat. They serve lunch all the time, you can order a burger at 6 am if you like. The only reason I gave it 4 stars in stead of 5 is because the service is very slow, it takes what seems like forever to get your food after you place an order, other than that it has a good atmosphere and friendly people.

The burgers were dry, we didn't get all our order Night shift drive up worker kept giving us nasty looks, . Day shift was nicer and made up for for the forgotten items. Without question.

Burned my burger and didn't give me my entire order, took it back and they then still shorted me part of my order again. Incompetence at its finest.

Worst fast food experiwnce on our three week roadtrip. Service was bad and actually insisted I misunderstood them and made it seem like a problem as well - despite it beeing the other way around. Dident feel welcome and we dident go to any other Burger Kings rest of out trip.

Would never order food from here again, I ordered a chicken and spinach thin crust pizza specifically asked for Alfredo sauce, I received an onion olive pineapple thin crust pizza with red sauce, I know it had to be on purpose because what kind of psychopath eats a pizza with onion olives and pineapple, yall need to do better

I'm a Dominoes fan but the oven at this one is too hot. My pizza and chicken were burnt and the pizzas I saw being boxed up looked just as bad. Lots of big crust bubbles too. Not quite the Domino's standard.

Ordered a large pepperoni. Received pizza overcooked. Called and Manager said a new pizza would arrive in 20 minutes. 45 minutes later, we had to call to get an update and they had forgotten to put in the new pizza. 2nd pizza finally arrived which was lukewarm and mildly better cooked. Never had a problem at this location before. Very disappointing.

The young lady working in there with the multi colored hair should be retrained or termed! How can you handle cash and then go straight into making pizza. She touched raw dough with unwashed hands right after handling cash, disgusting. I have my videos and photos that I'll be sharing with the SLO County Board of Health. Also, the employee shouldn't be parking in the disabled parking area. It is rude and illegal! Needless to say it'll be a cold day in hell before I return here. We threw all our food out, what a waste!

Placed an order online for pickup. They brought the order out to my vehicle. Pizza was fresh and hot. Philly cheese steak sandwich was hot and tasred freshly mad3.

This small taco shop boasts a solid salsa bar and shrimp tostadas done properly, Baja-style.

We love eating at Tacos El Viejon. It is a Spanish language imersion experience, full of Mexican culture. Spanish on the TV, Spanish spoken at the tables, and at the counter, if you wish. We especially love the cheese and shrimp tacos, the carnitas, and the al pastor. The crispy tacos are a treat. They are deep fried shells, not the store bought box style. Everything is very good. The green sauce is tasty, flavorful, without too much heat. The food is on the salty side, and I like it, it goes great with cold beer. This is a fun experience with a sweet and friendly crew. Parking is on the street and in the back. Very convenient. Plenty of indoor only seating. Tami says try 'em brah!

Super delicious and authentic! Tried the flautas and torta de alambre (the daily special).

This place is 1000% authentic. The salsas are fresh from the bar and everything is flavorful. This place leaves Taco Temple in the dust. If you want real Mexican food def come here. It's perfect and everyone is friendly. Everything is excellent, but the Pozole is *chef's kiss* on a cool day. If you're done with a serf or want to bring a burrito to the beach this is hands down the spot.

This is a small restaurant away from the city center. We decided to get out of the embarcadero & check out the other places around. The girl working the register was friendly. We ordered red chilaquiles, came asada taco w/ cheese, & an asada burrito. The portions were really good & the flavor was good. The chilaquiles were a bit spicy, but fine for those who don't mind that. The taco was my favorite because they are not stingy with their servings at all!!

If you need a break from all the great seafood in town, come here for delicious and authentic Mexican food. The alambre torta was super tasty and made even better with a dash of salsa from the fantastic salsa bar. Service was quick, prices fair, seating plentiful (I did to-go) and bathroom clean. 10/10 would return.

The place seemed small but held plenty of seating. We ordered and sat down. It didn't seem like they offered fountain drinks but there plenty of can and bottle choices. I had two chicken tacos and my husband had burrito pastor. The burrito was large and there were plenty of sauce choices. My tacos were very good and the Pico de Gallo made them perfect. The food is very authentic and it all looked and smelled great.
