We absolutely loved this place. The sandwiches are incredible. They were fresh and massive, even if you get a half. Kids could easily split one. The cookie dough cake was delicious and a generous slice. Bennett is hilarious and really kind...he made us laugh the whole time we were in there, and we had a great conversation. They have a solid drink selection and stocked things you can't find everywhere. You won't regret going here!

Best selection of sandwiches I’ve ever seen. Just moved to the area last week and Bennett was very nice and personable. He was the most welcoming guy I’ve met since moving here and they make an incredible sandwich however you like it! Would recommend to anyone!

Literally the BEST deli in America. Fresh ingredients, AMAZING and friendly owner, nice staff, a large selection of chips, drinks, and sides. HIGHLY recommend to anyone in the area you will not be disappointed. The Air Force special and the Philly cheesesteak are my go to sandwiches here. The interior is also decked out with awesome military memorabilia, if your in Monterey and don't stop by to say hi to compagno and get one of his delicious sandwiches ur definitely missing out!

Long time local staple, you will not find a better sandwich in Monterey. BEWARE portions are very generous. Owner and employees care about their customers, community and service. I ate here 1st time in the early 90's, recently had the opportunity to revisit and 30 years later same great spot

This place is so good! The size of the food is huge - I ordered a Philly and added lettuce, mayo, mustard and pickles - I’m calling it a Philly Mac because it was like a Big Mac and a Philly in one and so frickin good! I also ordered the cheesecake - I think toffee or heath? Also soooooo good. I can’t recommend this place enough. Worth the wait!

Arguably the best sandwich I have ever had. The ingredients were extremely fresh, and the bread was amazing. Chip selection was the best I have ever seen. I like hard to find chips and they had all of them. Owner was super nice. Will be back every single time I pass through Monterey.

This restaurant is always my favorite whenever I visit town. The Shaken Beef is truly outstanding — cooked to perfection, seasoned just right, and bursting with flavor. I love the fried rice and pho too, with their rich, authentic taste and thoughtful preparation. I recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food and a friendly, welcoming place to dine.

This Vietnamese restaurant is owned by Vietnamese. However, if you want a 100% authentic Vietnamese food, you may need to drive to San Jose to find food in the big Vietnamese community there. I spoke with the owner. He said that when he started, he used all ingredients for Vietnamese food, but many customers (non Vietnamese and non Asians) didn't like, so he had to adjust which is acceptable for me. Even though the food is not 100% authentic Vietnamese food, but I'm happy to give 5 stars because it's still better choice for healthy food than unhealthy fast food while traveling. The price is very reasonable for the expensive town of Monterey. We came for very late lunch (2:30pm), so we didn't have to wait long even though it's quite busy at this time. I don't know how busier it'd be during the main meal times. The staff is very nice, and the owner is very friendly. Updated: I came back for dinner, and this time I ordered combination pho. I really enjoyed it after over two week vacation with full of unhealthy fast food (burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas...). As usual, the owner is very friendly with his customers, and people feel good and welcome with him.

I’m so glad I found Chopstix Vietnamese Restaurant in Monterey! The food here is absolutely delicious. Every dish is made with care, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. I especially love their pho – it’s flavorful and comforting. The staff are amazing too! They’re always so kind, attentive, and professional. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. It’s rare to find a place with both great food and such warm service. This restaurant is now one of my favorite spots to eat in town. I’ve recommended it to many of my friends, and they’ve all loved it as much as I do. Whether you’re visiting Monterey or live nearby, you should definitely stop by Chopstix. It’s worth every visit. I plan to return often – this place is perfect for regular meals and special occasions alike.

I’ve been coming here for years and the food is great, but recently they changed bread for the banh mi (sandwiches), and the bread is not good. I really hope they go back to the other bread or find a different bread. This one is tough and doesn’t taste good. I’ll try it again one more time, but if it’s the same bread I probably won’t be ordering the sandwiches anymore.

Unpretentious location, but on entering we were greeted by a pleasant, welcoming server who seated up. Our apperizers were served quickly. The Calamari and the shrimp rolls (off menu) were exactly what we hoped for. A satisfying start. The main dishes followed soon after. The noodles for rice substitution was made without fuss, and the food was expertly cooked and presented. Our heartfelt thanks to the chef for a job well done. Good food at a reasonable price. What more can anyone ask for!

Hidden gem by the Del Monte Mall! The service was great, fast, and attentative. The food options were plentiful and the prices were great! I really enjoyed their veggie wraps and their house rice. The dining area is on the smaller side, but there's also outdoor seating. The restroom was very clean!

We've been here a few times and had a different server each time. We've only tried the cakes and pies so far, so this review is mainly about that. The staff are generally very nice. The cakes and pies are delicious and some pieces could even replace a whole meal, they are so rich. We can highly recommend the carrot cake and the (very rich) peanut butter cake. We will definitely be back to try all the different cakes and pies and are already looking forward to their new creations.

I came to Rosine’s for brunch with my mom and aunt, and we absolutely loved it! The food was absolutely delicious, everything tasted so fresh and flavorful, and the portions were generous. The service was excellent too friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing weekend brunch. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and great service.

We absolutely love the food everytime we come here. My favorite is the loaded potato appetizer. I have been here more than 3 times and have never been disappointed, this is our go to spot for lunch whenever we visit Monterey or Big Sur. Most recently we tried their cream cheese chocolate cake for my brother’s birthday and it was amazing. The waiters were so sweet and came together to sing a birthday song and it made my brother’s day.

We had come here before and couldn’t get in because they were packed and had 45 min wait so we had left. We came back to Monterey and wanted to see why it was so popular. The moment you walk in, you have the most gorgeous pies and cakes greeting you. The hosts are quick to answer questions and to sit you or change your seating if you prefer (we wanted a booth). The place has a diner feel, but extra fancy and classy at a super fair price. There’s so many diverse families, couples and even groups that are tourists. I highly recommend their food and desserts. I’m so thrilled to say that their snickers cake wins. We did a sampler and I can’t get enough of it! It’s like eating the actual chocolate bar, but turned into this smooth mousse that you can crunch on! Please order milk or coffee with it, you won’t regret it! It’s a must for anyone in Monterey!

This place was Fantastic the Atmosphere was refreshing and vibrant the food and lasagna was fabulous and Soo delicious and service was reasonably timed well..drinks appetizers and then the hot piping food was out the steak was delicious as well. I grew up in New Port Beach and have tried several different restaurants but this was absolutely Wonderful. 💛🌹

Breakfast Bliss at Rosine’s in Monterey Rosine’s delivered exactly what we needed—a hearty, flavorful breakfast in a warm and welcoming setting. The place is clean and fresh and bright with a lively, comfortable vibe that makes you want to settle in and savor the morning. I went with the Eggs Benedict and added spinach—great decision. The eggs were perfectly runny, and the hollandaise was smooth and buttery without being too heavy. The Avocado Toast was bright, fresh, and satisfying with a nice citrus punch that cut through the richness. Another standout was the Biscuits with Sausage Gravy, served alongside eggs. The biscuits were soft and flaky, and the gravy was just the right amount of peppery and creamy—comfort food at its best. We also shared the Waffles topped with bananas and strawberries, which were golden and crisp on the outside, soft inside, and loaded with fresh fruit. The service was upbeat and genuine, and our coffee cups were always full. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they do. Before we left, we couldn’t help but stare at the dessert display—massive cakes and pastries that looked like they belonged in a bakery window in Europe. We’re already planning our return trip just to try one (or three) of them. Rosine’s knows how to do breakfast right. Friendly faces, great food, and a menu that makes it hard to choose. Five stars all the way.

This is nice little restaurant open in 1980. The food is good and flavorful. I had to try their minestrone soup and it did t disappoint. It’s a must try. I had the steak and eggs and my wife had an omelette. Both were very tasty. Nice area for shopping and the weather was great as well. This was my first time in Monterey California. Everything seems nice.

El Cantaro was awesome! I've never been to another vegan Mexican restaurant, so there's nothing to really compare it to, which means that I have to compare it to all other restaurants and this place is one of the best! The food is fresh and delicious, there's a ton of options to choose from and they're all delicious!

Organic, full of flavor! The steak fajitas was good, the tacos were delicious. It seemed that they make their own corn tortillas in-house, so fresh! The pozole soup was full of nutritional vegetables and a little spicy but I loved it!

Hey, you wanna try some real tasty mexican food? You should not miss this restaurant, by all means … go for the ‚Mexican Favorites‘ with the crispy tacos (fried tacos); the crisp is just so crispy; loved the chickin‘ more than the potatoes but both are great … but don‘t forget to ask for the Hot Salsa as well (homemade); pace yourself at first because it has quite some kick but it wants you to take more and more - it‘s so excellent … Two tiny suggestions/ideas: 1. The cheese on the tacos was very chilled; can the cheese be taken out of the fridge earlier, so its just at least room temperature when its on the tacos? 2. If you stuff the cheese a slight bit ‚into‘ the taco, it becomes way easier to eat it without spilling most of the cheese (and tasty tomatoes) …

This place is a gem for those on a restricted diet -- The entire menu (and it's a big one) is vegan. I got a combo platter and was so stoked. One plate was PLENTY and I was stuffed afterwards, but wanted to order more just to try other things on the menu. I am docking one point from atmosphere because they were blasting Christian worship music which kinda spoiled the vibe, but I would go here again in a heartbeat. Maybe they'll play Slayer for me next time.

OMG their food is so good! I am in town for a few days and was excited to go to an all vegan Mexican restaurant. The first day I got a pineapple and black bean burrito and it was so delicious. The next day I got the tofu veggie burrito and I loved it so much that the third day I got the exact same thing. I would eat here all the time if I lived here. The counter staff is super friendly and helpful and my food was ready quickly, even at prime lunchtime. Highly recommend!

UPDATE: I’ve gone back to this bakery once more and we tried the apple pizza, the passion fruit white chocolate mini cake, and one more pastry and we were once again blown away with the balanced sweetness of the fruit and soft pastry. We have tried multiple bakeries around this area, multiple times, and I will say this is THE BEST bakery in Monterey. Some bakeries may have a long line out the store, but don’t get fooled. This will be the best one you taste in town. We went here during our stay in the morning (right before a line formed) we shared a table with a local who lives in the area. He stated this was his favorite place in the state. We got three different pastries, cherry and peach croissant, a regular croissant, and a lemon tart. We also got a chai latte and a regular coffee. We absolutely loved it. The tart was our favorite, the atmosphere is lovely and the pastries made fresh taste amazing.

Once upon a time, a love affair began with almond croissants. Specifically Parker’s almond croissants, and you’ll understand once you sample those, but— things moved forward past small pastries in our relationship. We elevated to birthday cake last year (The Experience) and this year “The Tropique”. We’re at a celebration point where I feel that if I were to get cake from another place for my Aunt’s birthday, we’d have some unhappy people (myself included). Also, try their quiche. Roasted tomato goat cheese is superb.

Friendly customer service despite how busy it was. The quiches were amazing, got the mushroom and spinach ones. Noticed some of the sandwiches weren’t made in house but delivered from somewhere else. Their almond croissants 🥐 and morning roll was pretty tasty. I just wish the inside was fluffier and not so dense. Overall a small clean ambience inside and about 4 tables to eat outside. I noticed everyone was grabbing and going the entire morning..

We ordered our lemon raspberry wedding cake with buttercream frosting from Parker-Lusseau Pastries, and it was everything we dreamed of — absolutely delicious and beautifully made! From the start, working with Anne was a wonderful experience. She was extremely responsive via email and made sure all of our requests were fulfilled. The team was so accommodating and ensured our cake would be ready and perfect for our special day, which gave us such peace of mind. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how good the cake tasted — light, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. Side note: Their almond croissants are incredible — we’re obsessed. We’ve already decided to come back on our one-year anniversary to pick up a mini version of our wedding cake and relive the magic of that day. Huge thanks to Anne and the whole Parker-Lusseau team for making our celebration so special!

Very cute pastry and bread shop in a historic building. Friendly staff. Outside sitting. We had a brioche, a croissant and a peach and blackberry tart, and a latte with oat milk. All tasted vey good.

OMG....the almond croissant was to die for. It rivals those that I've tried in France...hell, this one is probably better than most I've tried in France. Yummy yummy in my tummy!!!! Enjoy!!

Hands down the best pastries I've ever had till now. Surprisingly amazing latte too. We tried a lot of french pastries and loved all of them - both savory and sweet ones. One pastry with puff layers and vanilla cream filling, I forget the name - it was so delicious, it blew my mind. You can get the limited seating if you arrive early. During long weekends, holidays, it's hard to get any seating at all. Definitely a must visit.

There’s always a long line in front of revival ice cream and I now understand why. Ice cream is flavorful, creamy and you can tell that it is made with great quality ingredients. They also have some unique flavors and their menu changes daily. Their single split scoop is a generous portion and is reasonably priced. I tried the PB&J ice cream and strawberry sherbet. Both were so delicious and I couldn’t believe the PB&J one was vegan! Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area.

It’s expensive. It’s amazing. They have a ton of unique flavors, but Bees Knees is by far my favorite. The ice cream is firm, yet creamy, which is exactly how I like it! There will likely be a little wait, and you’ll probably be thinking “man, that’s a little pricey” but it’s well worth it!

High quality ice cream store in Monterey downtown. Their Bee's Knees flavour was especially not worthy as it includes a white cream based ice cream with honey and honey comb candy. They make their waffle cones on site so if they are making it fresh, consider getting it as it is quite good. They have a big jug of ice water but no bathrooms. Limited free curb side parking.

What a great ice cream shop in downtown Monterey! Came for an after dinner treat. I got a single split scoop of bees knees and apple pie with a toasted marshmallow on top. My husband got bees knees and chocolate with a waffle bowl. All the ice cream flavors were amazing, with the apple pie being my favorite. Not too sweet. I could’ve done without the marshmallow, it was kind of runny. I gave 4 stars instead of 5, because they need to have more staff working at a time. The line was down the street with only 1 or 2 staff working at a time. One girl said she was going on her 30 min break when the line was down the street, leaving one girl to fend for herself. (I bet that was the first break she got in a while since it was so busy). Staff appropriately!Otherwise it’s an amazing ice cream spot. FYI: They have a “guaranteed” policy where if you don’t like your flavor you get a new one for free.

Organic, delicious and locally sourced ice cream. They have a variety of different flavors that change depending on the season, so there's always something new to try and look forward to. The prices are a little higher, but you get high quality in return, which I am happy to pay for. The last time we were there, we tried every single flavor and will continue to do so whenever we stop by.

This is the best ice cream I’ve ever had. Not overly sweet and it’s smooth. Cheaper than the big guys. Wish we had one in Denver. If you want amazing ice cream then go to Revival ice cream.

We were out on a road trip one of are stops was in Monterey Bay we were walking down a street and spotted revival ice cream shop and had to try there bees knees so delicious 😋 a must if your by a revival ice cream shop.

We ordered a couple of wraps via DoorDash. Whoever wrapped the chicken schwarma wrap did a really bad job. Ingredients everywhere. See photo. They also did not label the wraps so we had to open one to figure out what was inside. Usually this place takes better care.

If a takeout place will charge $40 plus at least make it worth it. Not sure if both Monterey and Marina are under the same ownership but Monterey could learn a thing or two from Marina. Went near close time and they had plenty of ingredients to give good sized portions. Employee who prepared our order was acting as if the food was hers by the portions she gave us. I asked for all the fixings and tells me that more than 3 fixings will be .75 extra per fixing. Marina does not charge extra anymore and the quality of the food was abysmal as was the service. If they dont want to serve good quality then maybe they should hire better employees and train them on how to prepare a good sized portion meal.

We stopped here to charge our car and grab some lunch. The wraps were very filling but the lavash felt a bit dry and heavy. Otherwise tasty. The dolmas were also tasty and filling.

The pita was warm and pillowy—exactly how it should be. The Falafel offered a nice crunch with a soft, herbed interior that didn’t disappoint. Our table quickly filled with Mediterranean classics. The Chicken Shawarma was tender and well-seasoned, while the Chicken Kabob had that smoky, grilled finish that made each bite better than the last. The real surprise was the Ultimate Vegan Delight—vibrant, hearty, and layered with fresh ingredients that made it anything but an afterthought. For dessert, we couldn’t skip the Baklava. It was buttery and sweet with just the right amount of crunch—an indulgent way to finish the meal. Service was quick and friendly, and the kitchen clearly takes pride in what they serve. Whether you're eating in or grabbing something fresh on the go, Dametra Fresh is a true standout. We’ll absolutely be back. Five stars!

Excellent food and experience. We worked with Viviana to cater a 50+ person party, and she exceeded our expectations! Not only was the food delicious and a hit at the party, but Viviana took the time to let us sample each option, delivered the food to our location, helped us set up the food, and was great at communicating. We will definitely get catering from Demetra again! If you haven’t had their food, check them out!

First of all, when you search for halal restaurants in Monterey on Google, this place shows up — but unfortunately, their meat is not halal. We only found that out after arriving. Since we’re in town for just two days and didn’t have time to search for other options, we decided to order the falafel. We paid nearly $20 for the plate you see in the photo — just 2 falafel pieces and a lot of salad. Very disappointing experience overall.

Pizza was good wasn't blow my socks off great. Probably could have had compatible pizza with a lesser price but area of pizza is overly expensive for no reason. This is the best pizza for the best price. Done from scratch the sauce is missing a ingredient and they cook it perfect so the sauce is what's the bummer but for the price it's good. Great pizza! I believe they're mostly for delivery, but have a few tables inside. Service was fast during the weekday at lunch time. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. After getting our food, they checked to see how we were doing. The pizza itself was light, the crust wasn't super dense. Flavor was great also. I would definitely go again!

Truly excellent pizza, some of the best I've ever had on the west coast. Dough was perfectly crispy and the cheese was super tasty. Affordable, large slices ($3.50 as of July 2024) and caring employees that were down for a laugh.

Pizza and calzone were delicious! My husband said the wings were alright. The guys working were great! It is a small location maybe more of a grab and go thing but we had 5 people and sat comfortably.

Really really nice cafe. Had a sandwich there which was really good. I found the pickled things they sell a bit pricy and regretted paying 10 dollars for a small glass of pickled cauliflower. But I got carried away from the vibe, which is really good.

Great breakfast spot in Pacific Grove and amazing coffee!! They make their own jams/preserves as well, and oh my gosh, absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff and cute atmosphere. We didn't have time to look around at all the products being sold in the adjacent store, but I'm sure it was all fantastic.

I loved the chickpea fritatta so much that I couldn't wait to get another one the next day. Delicious vegan baked goods. The coffee was perfect. The pickle slices that accompany the fritatta were amazing, much better than their jarred dill spears. The tomato cauliflower soup was dynamite. You can find pretty much anything you want picked in their store.

Spectacular matcha soy mylk lattes!!! Maddie made our matchas PERFECT!!!! Not too sweet and very creamy! Their GF and vegan options in pastries keep us coming back!! A must try: vegan cornbread, vegan blueberry muffin, and the vegan scones! Customer service is wonderful!

There’s an entirely another section of different types of jams and marmalades — pretty 👏 and they also let you try some that’s available. Had the veggie sandwich and homemade sourdough with strawberry lavender jam was amazing. We were happy that you can actually pick from a list on the jams that you want to try. The veggie sandwich was OK. I felt it could’ve been more heartier. Avocado toast was nice. They had a sprinkle of salt and pepper at the top to give it a little kick.

This place is amazing! Everything is homemade - the granola, jams, bread, pastries, yogurt even. They have plenty of healthy options and accommodate for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. The coffee was the real star for me, I got a honey latte with oat milk and it was the best I’ve had in town so far! Plus they don’t charge extra for alternative milks. They also have a little shop attached where they sample and sell their homemade jams, spritzes, pickled veggies, and more. Our servers were so friendly and welcoming, happy to give us recommendations of menu items. This place is a gem, I highly recommend it!

I do like this place. However, the fritate was a bit old along with the thumbrint cookie, while their cappuccino came in a quarter sized cup; much smaller than their latte, which was unexpected and not satisfying. The kiwi strawberry muffin was excellent along with their mini cheesecake. Soup was okay, too. Ambiance was nice, and we drove out of our way for their gluten-free bread, which uses one of the best recipes we have found anywhere. It's very heavy on the nuts, which is fantastic. Place is pricey, which I understand with the ingredients that they use, but for that price, please provide a large cappuccino and fresher baked goods.

Absolutely loved everything we tried here! We got a scone, a pastry and two different toasts. The smoked salmon toast was the winner. The avocado toast was good too. Highly recommend! We got here at 8am on a holiday weekend and hardly had to wait in line, but by the time we left there was a line down the block.

Was actually trying to go to Ad Astra this morning but they had a sign said that deep cleaning in progress so they were unexpectedly closed. Walked down to Alta instead and got 6 different croissants, a few sweet pastries and a small loaf of bread with tomatoes, cheeses and herbs. 2 chai lattes both with double espressos added to them. We ended up eating a few of the croissants and sipping coffee in the courtyard in the back. Plenty of space and tables, even dog friendly Sure all of that was fairly expensive but did we enjoy everything we got? Hell ya. Would come back again.

Beautiful cafe! The small indoor area opens to a much bigger outdoor space with beautiful trees and flowers! Can't believe that it is right in a downtown area. The food is amazing too! I got Reuben croissant which is rich but balanced with sauerkraut. It is packed with the sliced cured meat as well. Very enjoyable experience!

It is worth the long line that might occur on the weekends. They got fresh bakery items. The sandwiches are well presented and are appealing. I had avocado toast that was fresh and beautifully presented with more fresh items like radish and even edible flowers. The latte was well prepared using high quality coffee beans. Don't forget to check out the very interesting coffee machine.

Wanted to like this place more. Tried a Chile Verde burrito and chips and guacamole. The stand out was their guacamole, it's really good. The rest was just okay. Burrito tortilla was great but the Chile Verde lacked flavor and was about a medium heat wise. Chips were thick kind and very oily. Service was very good though they only offer take out.

The best burrito you could get in Monterey by far! Great price, and incredibly high quality. If you like Southern California Mexican food, you would love this burrito! I got a carne asad burrito for $8!

Saddest and smallest breakfast burrito i’ve ever had. 8$ for a tortilla(which was fresh and good yes) filled with a scoop of eggs(supposed to be eggs with chorizo but the chorizo got lost probably) and a small scoop of salsa . The only good part about this experience is that i did dispute the transaction and got money back from the bank

I love this place but it’s way overpriced for what you get! I have a family of five and we all love Mexican but there are other businesses that give more for what you pay. Lower prices and then you’ll have more happy customers.

Ordered a carne asada burrito with Pico and Avocado. Meat was great, pico was good but I wish there was a better ratio of asada to Pico. Burrito was a little smaller than I am use to go a good Mexican burrito but the price was reflected in the smaller burrito. Great place to grab a quick burrito.

Great and CHEAP burritos. Their tortillas are really good, as are all of their fillings. Plus, they're perfect size for a single meal...none of these 2-meal giant burritos that everyone else has for $15. My favorite is the chile verde.

Not as good as the Salinas location! Chile relleno only after 1030am. Burritos were good, but asked for the spiciest sals plus pico but could not taste. Very mild flavors.

Tara was out server and took really good care of us. The food was amazing. It's pricier than what it used to be but well worth it. The weather was amazing. We got so we seals frolicking in the cove from our window table.

Don't let the outside of this place fool you. Walked i. And was greeted with smiles right away. Got sat in a great booth with a view of the water. The waiters were prompt and kept my table clean. The food was delicious. 10/10 would recommend and return.

A must visit for seafood lovers. They had good variety of options and almost each item tastes really good. We visited this place twice already and looking forward to many more. Their clam chowder is one of the best. The salmon, calamari and crab meat was amazing. They have a good amount of waiting time. We waited for around 40 minutes both times we visited. But it is totally worth it once you start tasting their seafood.

Soooo good!! We stumbled across this while walking the pier and it was the best decision! We got a table next the water and luckily dropped in while they had a 25% of bottles of wine happy hour. For starters, ordered the “Monterey-style” clam chowder and calamari. It was the best chowder we’ve had and the calamari was extremely fresh. We could tell the squid was cut in house. We ordered two pastas that were phenomenal with the crab ravioli being our favorite. They surprised us with a free dessert!! Everything is reasonably priced. We highly recommend this place

Came here for a birthday dinner on a Monday evening, with a wait of approx 30-40 mins for a party of two. Food is a little pricey but it's kinda to be expected with seafood, and we had a great experience. It was a cold night so the best thing I got was a mug of hot water haha, that was comforting. Oysters were very fresh, no sand or crunch! The Chowder is popular and definitely very good. The seafood sampler had some delicious crab cake topped with sweet mango. The Captain's plate was a fair portion with one tender peeled lobster tail. The plate of Cioppino was larger than expected and this is what she was craving for!--only to eat maybe 30% of it before we got full and decided to take it home. Everyone, especially our server, was very nice. Angel was knowledgeable with recs, and attentive with regular check-ins without being over the top. His service was quick, clean, and genuine. Ambiance was dimly lit for date night or other occasions. And ladies can leave with a complimentary rose!

Three of us walked from Cannery Row to the Wharf for a late dinner. Small wait was worth the trip. We ordered the crab tower to start. Plentiful and extremely tasty but for three sharing it, a serving spoon would have been helpful. We all ordered the garlic bread bowls of Monterey style chowder. It’s New England clam chowder, people!! :) It was served hot and was delish!! Sal, our waiter, was attentive but I felt like he was trying to upsell me :) we declined dessert because we were full. Sal brought us an extra bowl of chowder because our bread bowls were not to the brim fill (very thoughtful, I didn’t notice) so we took it to go for another member of our party that had already turned in. Sal gave me a long/-stemmed rose ~ very thoughtful! Our second trip, a meal you can count on!

The food was fabulous but most of all the staff was amazing. We got 2 of the mini pearl platters and two clam chowder in a bread bowl and our total was $211 but we would do it all over again. They also gave me wife a slice of cake for her birthday

Right away we were greeted, seated and menus in hand. Service was too notch. Cioppino, fish n chips, chowder, raw oysters were for lunch. Excellent taste and quality food. We were very satisfied with our meal. We were the first ones at the door and shortly after it was starting to get packed and it was only lunch time. I've heard stories were people waiting hours to be seated during dinner service. So to have a quality lunch there was best option. They do close between 2pm and 5pm. I highly recommend this place. Even if it's during lunch. Same food and freindly staff.

Eat where the locals eat. Really fresh oysters, halibut, swordfish and so much more. Not fancy elegant food, but deliciousness, friendly funny wait staff and "can't possibly pour more wine in the glass" wine by the glass (local and quite reasonable). Away from the tourist strip. If you love good honest food, genuine professional service, nice wines, this is your go to!

We had grilled octopus, oysters, snappers and clam soup noodles! They are all very delicious. The bread was refilled without asking. My husband has a restriction on carbohydrates intake, and they suggested to replace it with all vegetables which is very nice.

We had dinner here without making a reservation and didn't wait at all. Valerie was our server and she was great! The same for the food and wine. We'll definitely come back to try other dishes and dessert!

This was my first solo meal on my first solo vacation I’ve had in a long time and the staff was so welcoming and friendly. I sat at the bar and met a local and her and I and the bartender just chatted the whole time. The food was AMAZING. 10/10 will come here again. I got the steamed clams appetizer, the swordfish meal, and the tiramisu for dessert.

Loved the environment in here. The staff was on point and the food was delicious. Sat at the bar and received excellent service. Bartender knew the menu and specials like the back of his hand and the special of the day did not disappoint just like he guaranteed. All the seafood tasted fresh and the homemade pasta was amazing. Will definitely be coming back when I’m in the area. Local restaurants, take notes!

Let me start off by saying, the service here is spot on amazing, all the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Now, for the food, we come here once every year when driving through this part of California as it’s always been amazing, but we went on 8/9/25 for dinner. We ordered: Fried calamari- $19, was a little bland, no seasoning really, usually the batter has some tasty seasoning but this was just plain calamari. Needs improvement. Clam chowder- $14, terrible, no flavor, bland, very water, only a few(5 pieces) of clams in a bowl size. I rarely send food back at places but this one, I had to send back, because it was not worth the 14 bucks. Crab cake appetizer- was good, only comes with one piece for $20 about the size of a hamburger patty. Rib eye steak- $33, meat was tasty, meat was a little on the tough side even when cook a little more then medium. Cioppino-$31, always a favorite, was delicious all the way, perfect size, can even be shared between two people. So, I hope the owner see’s this review, something has changed here, I feel like someone is dropping the ball in managing the kitchen chef’s. This restaurant used to be spot on with the food all the way but when it comes to making clam chowders, you need all the staff to taste it and speak the truth about it because this clam chowder was no where near what it used to be. Also, me and my wife ordered the mind haze beers and they brought us 2 pilsners beers, I did not send those back because I did not wanna seem picky after sending back the clam chowder. So I would say the owners need to be on top of this place, I even heard a few other patrons mention the food was not as good as in the past, so I’m not the only one with this opinion. I hope they make changes here, seems like things went a little down hill here for the prices. This is more likely our last time going back here and will explore other options when visiting Monterey area.

Absolutely amazing food! I’m celiac and the waitress was so kind to help me with GF options and do some changes to items which were not GF from the start. The food was fresh and delicious! Tons of vegan GF options too. The backyard is super cute and cozy. We felt so welcomed and left with fully happy bellies.

The vegetarian in our group had the Kona chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. She loved the sandwich and the fries! My gluten free had the grass skirt burger with sweet potatoes fries. She also loved her meal. I had the Hula burger with cheddar and house fries. Mine was great we all mentioned how fresh and delicious the bread was. The atmosphere is fun and island “y” I had a ginger beer and my friend had a mai tai and enjoyed it. We are so glad we stopped in!

Was recommend to this place by a local and we are so happy we listened. Perfect spot for vegans and vegetarians/ health minded individuals. Service was fast and the food was fresh, delicious, and filling. I got the Buddha Bowl and an arugula salad - the bowl was loaded with fresh veggies and the tofu and ponzu saude we so crispy and delicious. The arugulua salad was also quite tasty. Highly recommend!

Tasty drinks and appetizers at great happy hour prices! The wings were some of the best we have ever had and are one of the happy hour options. I went in planning to only have one drink but ended up with a second one after my first one was so delicious. Really nice friendly employees. Positive vibes. We look forward to our next visit.

Great food, and great atmosphere. We had a lemongrass encrusted halibut, macadamia nut encrusted halibut and southern seas tacos - all very tasty, but lemongrass encrusted halibut is just superb. Make sure to try the lilikoi pie, it's so yummy!

The tables were somewhat crowded, being too close to each other. However, the decor was charming. I ordered the Hawaiian soup with fish, shrimp, and coconut milk with lemongrass. I felt that the soup had an Asian twist to it. 😋 The soup was very delicious!! Everything was hot and fresh. My dad is disabled, and I felt that they could better accommodate disabled

We had such a great time at Hula’s! The tiki and surf vibe in the place is spot on. The food was amazing – I tried the catch of the day, ono fish (kind of like a tuna steak), and it was seriously delicious. The drinks all sounded super tempting too!

**A Hidden Gem on the Pier - Loulou’s Griddle In the Middle** I stumbled upon this restaurant during a morning scooter ride while riding in the city and it turned out to be a great spot. This charming little spot offers everything you could want to start your day off right. The setting is absolutely perfect—right on the pier, with stunning views of the water and seeing people board their boats, and kayaks. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, with a warm and welcoming vibe that makes you feel like a local, even if you're just visiting. The menu, though small, is packed with delicious options. I had the Monterey omelette with potatoes and it was fantastic—fresh, and flavorful. The portions were generous, and everything tasted homemade with a lot of love and care. The coffee was excellent too, strong and smooth, just what I needed to kickstart my day. They even refill your cup. What really stood out was the friendly service. The staff was genuinely kind and attentive, going out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. They’re also happy to share recommendations about the best things to see and do in the area, which was a nice bonus. If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy a delicious breakfast with a view, Loulou’s is a must-visit. It’s a true hidden gem, and I can’t wait to return on my next trip! Only negative was the wait time… We arrived with no reservation and were told it would be 30-45 minutes. It ended up being 65 minutes until we sat down, however, the food came out quickly after ordering. **TIP** Call ahead and place your name on the list. Also, review the menu so you know what to order when you finally get seated.

I was very excited to come here. The service was okay. Our food was not good this day. My oatmeal was not good. It could have used a pinch or 2 of salt and butter while cooking to help combat the creme brûlée sugar topping. I added salt to my oatmeal and then half-and-half and still was only able to eat about 4 spoonfuls before I decided it was a no-go for me. My scrambled eggs were dry and felt like they were sitting on the plate a little too long. The bacon was cold, but it was cooked well. The orange juice tasted like a cheap concentrate sink water and was not good at all. My husband got 2 eggs over easy, which were undercooked, and the egg white was still liquid. The potatoes didn't have any seasoning on them at all. They were just plain. The bacon was also cooked well, and this day, they ran out of sausage, so we couldn't order the sausage. Lastly, my husband ordered wheat toast with his meal, and they gave him sourdough. The food looked/looks nice.It just did not taste good at all.This was my first time eating here.I wish I had a better experience because of all the hype.

Once in a blue moon we find a unique place like this that makes us feel like old friends from the moment we were greeted and shown to our seat at the counter. We loved everything about it! The humor of the hostess immediately made us feel welcomed. We enjoyed watching the cooks while at the counter. The atmosphere, the food, everything was wonderful. Especially the pancakes!!!

This is hands down the best breakfast in Monterey. If you ever have the opportunity to sit at the bar you must, it’s so fun and everyone who works here, I simply can’t even put into words how amazing they are. My son loves the huge hubcap pancakes and he begs us the come back any chance we get. They offer mimosas and everything on the menu is delicious. Another favorite is the Cinnamon French Toast and the fresh basil in an omelette is now a new necessity in my husband’s omelette. They are usually busy and have a wait but I promise you they are definitely worth the wait. We even came back 2 days in a row and this will always be where we stop for an amazing bite.

Fantastic service with amazing food. The restaurant is small but there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The portions are insanely huge so be careful how much you order, and the quality of the dishes is incredible so you won't be disappointed with anything you get. We ordered the halibut fish and chips (a daily special) which came with fries and salad, and a monster burger with cheddar cheese and bacon. I would highly recommend this place as a stop for lunch.

Great breakfast / brunch spot. Pretty small though, so you will definitely have a wait of 30 mins or more and the inside seating is a bit cramped. The staff is super nice though and are part of the experience. The pancakes are huge and the portion you get is honestly enough to be split between 4 people. So eating here can be really affordable if you're okay with sharing. Omelettes are delicious and everything is made right in front of you. Definitely recommend a visit.

Tiny place with BIG portions! Get the hubcap pancake with strawberries. So so good and made with fresh California strawberries. The mimosas are great, the staff is fun, the location is ideal. Highly recommend. While it may be "touristy" locals love it, too, and it is worth the wait!

When I travel, I make a point of seeking out the city’s most storied breakfast institutions. In Monterey, First Awakenings more than lived up to its reputation. Step through the door and you’re greeted by bright white walls and soaring ceilings—an airy, urban-clean space where chalkboard menus add just enough contrast to feel fresh rather than fussy. It’s the kind of room that puts you in a good mood before the coffee even arrives. I skipped the printed menu and went straight for a special posted at the entrance: the Crab Cake Benedict. As a Benedict devotee, I order some version of it almost everywhere I go, and this one impressed—crab-forward and well-seasoned, with cakes that held their shape yet stayed tender. It’s a rich plate, and those who are sensitive to oil might find it a touch indulgent, but never to a distracting degree. My daughter’s Chicken Apple Sausage Omelet was a standout in its own right. The gentle sweetness of the apple sausage, nicely browned, played beautifully against fresh vegetables for a bright, balanced bite. My wife and son opted for skillets, where the freshness of local produce really shone; the ingredients tasted clean and vivid, letting their natural flavors do the talking. By the end, it was easy to understand why First Awakenings remains one of the area’s most talked-about breakfast spots: a breezy, uplifting room; well-executed classics; and a few specials that feel genuinely worth the detour. Great food, I got the biscuits and gravy and the hot cocoa! The wait can be long depending on when you go, and where you want to sit. Make sure to bundle up because you may have to wait outside in the brisk beach weather or eat outside. The good news is they have heated benches and warmers outside. Service was really good, receiving our check was very slow, but they were very busy so it’s understandable. Business speaks volumes of their service and quality of food. I’ll be coming back!

Another of my favorite places for a full tasty breakfast in town. The staff is so sweet, the coffee is great and there's lots of parking space. The only thing that lacks is alcoholic drinks like mimosas, bellinis, etc.

We always look forward to the food and staff on our annual visit. Well technically two visits a year. Their blueberry pancakes and anything carnitas are our favorites. Honestly, I don’t believe they have a bad thing on their large menu. Enjoy!

Food:10/10 Service:2/10 Ambiance:10/10 For starters, this place was great. The wait was not bad since I had added myself to the list an hour before arrival, so when I got there I only had to wait 15 minutes. The ambiance is good, although it gets crowded you won't feel it since the weather is fresh. Moreover, the one thing that ruined this whole experience at this new food place was the service. After they bring your food the staff will completely disappear, I mean is not a surprise since the majority of the staff are teenagers. There was at least 1 staff that came to check if everything was to our liking and our guess was he was either the owner or manager but to repeat myself that happened only 1 time. For this place to be the jewel of Monterey Bay, they have to tell their staff to constantly check on clients with the most friendly smile IF THEY WANT TIPS. My husband had asked me if we should leave tips, at least $10; my response to him was hell no.

Everything about this place is Perfect 👌. Great location, great outdoor and indoor seating, amazing Customer service! Food is always on top!!! My favorite place to go and take my favorite people 💕. I love the Works omelet and the Peach and granola Pancakes 🥞 😋. All the team members are Always making our day better!!!

Quick to seat, even with a lot of people there. We were estimated a 30 minute wait. We were called up in 15! Staff were amazing - we have two toddlers and the staff member that seated us addressed our boys as "sir" which was adorable. We were seated and out in under 45 minutes, but in no way were we rushed for waiting customers. Food was delicious! Bacanado omelette was so fluffy, and overall delicious. Biscuits and gravy...oh my gosh! Gravy was thick and creamy and packed with flavor. Our boys has mickey pancakes and couldn't stop talking about how good they tasted. Country potatoes were crispy and flavorful! Very reasonably priced, too!

***Came back on 9/5/25 and this time the fish and chips were just right!*** As someone who’s visited this beautiful restaurant and market over the years, I’ve come to appreciate its consistency and local character—but this recent visit offered a mix of highs and a slight hiccup. I ordered the classic fish and chips alongside prawn and chips. The fish came paired with a creamy, tangy tartar sauce that elevated the flavor, though the fillet itself leaned a bit dry this time around—missing that flaky, moist texture I’ve enjoyed in the past. On the flip side, the prawns were spot-on: plump, perfectly fried, and served with a zesty cocktail sauce that added just the right kick. The texture was excellent—crispy on the outside, tender within. The market ambiance adds to the charm, with the scent of fresh catch and the bustle of locals picking up seafood to-go. It’s the kind of place that feels like a hidden gem, even if you’ve known about it for years. While the fish didn’t quite hit the mark this time, the prawns more than made up for it. I’ll definitely be back—hopefully to find the fish back in top form.

Not on the Main Street but it’s a gem. Locals know about its tourist won’t go to it. But they’re missing out. I happened upon by chance and what great food they have. Talk about fresh, never had fresh grilled salmon before and it’s a game changer. Meat was moist and tender. Shrimp were made well and cooked perfectly. Fran a menu, order at counter and then sit. Loved the fries it’s like lightly battered and fried.

Wow. I was hesitant to go to this place at first but I’m so glad we did. The food was 10/10, we started eating before I was able to get pictures because we were pretty starving after a day at the aquarium but it was all exquisite. The fish for the fish and chips was crispy and cooked to perfection. The clam chowder bread bowl was literally overflowing with clam chowder and the bread was actually soft, usually when I get bread bowls the clam chowder only fills up 3/4 of the bowl and the bread is hard as a rock. The cocktail shrimp was huge, literally everything we all ordered was great and fairly priced. I will say the brownies left something to be desired, they were pretty crumbly and not very sweet. Overall would absolutely recommend coming here and I will be back.

The calamari was AMAZING! We also got oysters and grilled sea bass - both were fresh and tasted great. Got Cajun seasoning for the sea bass, not very strong in flavor but I didn’t mind. Shared all of this between two people and it was a good amount, full but not stuffed. Steamed veggies were subpar but it’s not like that is what you’re coming here for.

What a little gem! Just a block away from the hustle of Cannery Row, this little dive was a perfect fit for families or adults that just want a meal without all the fancy trimmings. It's a fish market/deli type place with indoor and outdoor seating. A little extra leg room and space for everyone. Food took about 15mins and you're given a beeper so you can wander and relax while you wait. Cute little patio, protected from the wind, with shade umbrellas or sunny spots. The basic fish and chips was very superior to any I've had elsewhere. Fresh and filling. I can still taste it. Chunky fish full of flavor. Yum. *Warning: My coleslaw had sunflower seeds in it, for those of you with allergies. But it was scrumptious!

This was one of the better places we ate at during our visit to Monterey and Carmel. Sea Harvest had the most authentic atmosphere of any restaurant in the area and the food was the best value. It’s also tucked away enough from Cannery Row to avoid all the tourist vibes.

Sea Harvest Fish Market & Restaurant was a good choice for both fresh and cooked seafood for eating in at the restaurant. All fish were fresh and caught from Monterey Bay. It had outdoor and indoor seating areas which you could expect fishy smells from cooking in the restaurant.

Had a wonderful dinner here yesterday. Wait staff were super friendly and fast and the views from the restaurant of the marina were beautiful. We had their staple clam chowder and calamari and both were on point. For the mains, the kids had the pasta tubes in Alfredo sauce and the fish and chips and we had the sea scallops and jumbo prawns....everything was very delicious and portions are huge. Enjoy.

Superb seafood, portion sizes were good. You can tell a good seafood restaurant by the little things they use, capers, 4 monks, lighte batter. Chowder was definitely the prize here, chunky full of herb seasoning. Awesome. Drinks were prepared well and everything came out quickly.

Super delicious food, we loved the calamari. The view is great! We went for lunch and the atmosphere was perfect for a families but it did start to turn into more of a bar scene by the time we were leaving so if you’ve got littles with you maybe consider lunch time over dinner. Service was great and friendly. It is down some pretty steep stairs I did not see any wheelchair accessible way to actually get to the restaurant so be mindful of that as well. The bread pudding was perfect 👌🏼

Truly a hidden gem. Small restaurant with lots of character. Top notch service and fantastic fresh seafood. So many options for great seafood choices with lots of flavor! Definitely recommended! Cannot wait to go back.

Mom was visiting the area and wanted seafood. I picked this place because of the venue. I would plan to arrive early and put yourself on the wait list for a table by the window and then grab a drink at the bar. The cocktails are STRONG and the bartender was a beast. He can get your drink to you in no time and you can sit and chat while you wait for your table. The food was pretty good, I think it needed some salt. But, I guess it is better to add salt cause you cannot take that away. However, the venue is such a vibe and that is why you should go. We caught the sunset over the water and the boats docked in the wharf. It was pretty spectacular. You will need to pay for parking if you decide to park next to the restaurant. All in all a really good night! Worth going for the venue alone.

We were actually aiming for another well rated restaurant on the wharf but saw the Sandbar and got intrigued, so we stopped in for a Saturday lunch. The place was packed, so that’s a good sign. We ordered the tubes and tentacles and a bowl of clam chowder, though I know the fish n chips are highly rated and that was a close second choice. Next time, we’ll order that because what we did have was really good. For a busy place, the service was quick and kind. The portions were generous, and the view was excellent. Will return.

There were plenty of options for dinner that night, but after some research online, we found this incredible gem. A little secret? Order the clam chowder with a splash of sherry. Reservations are a must, as apparently, they are always packed. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was bright and lively and the wine selection was great! You’re also sitting very close to the water in a kind of secluded location, so the whole thing feels like a well-kept secret. A must if you’re in Monterey!

The worst meal of my life. I went over Valentine’s Day weekend. We had an 8 pm reservation. When we got there, many other groups with reservations had been waiting for 30+ minutes. We weren’t seated until 30 minutes after our reservation. Host did not warn us there would be a wait and did not apologize. Once we sat down, we weren’t served WATER for at least another 30 minutes. We asked 3 times before we finally got any water. It took even longer for us to order our meal. One table near us waited an hour before they could order. We ordered the bread as a starter. They were out. We also ordered a salad which was missing an ingredient from the menu. I ordered the carbonara. Genuinely the worst pasta dish of my life. Inedible. The guanciale was soft and uncooked. The sauce was watery. The poached egg on top was just weird but at least it was cooked. Our server didn’t ask us how our meal was once and we couldn’t flag them down. If we had been able to, we would have complained. This was an absolutely overall unacceptable experience, especially considering the price. There must have been no manager because the place was complete chaos. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

For me Italian food is difficult to rate as everyone has their own "bar" as to what they prefer and each chef their own recipes. All the dishes were tasty in their own way. The servings were more than ample. Great prices. The wine list (by the bottle) is quite nice. Clam chowder - I would rate this a excellent! We've tasted clam chowder many places & this one is not too thick or soupy with plenty of delicious flavor!! YUM!! Food - Spaghetti & meat balls. The pasta was fresh & perfectly prepared, the meatballs were tasty & good size, the sauce was hearty - tasted a bit like tomato paste, good though. Our guest approved! Lasagna - a huge portion loaded with cheese of different types. Same sauce as the spaghetti. Our guest approved. Chicken & with noodles -fresh, tasty pasta loaded with nicely seasoned chicken breast & white sauce. Our guest enjoyed the dish but mentioned it needed vegetables to give it more desirability. Oso Bucco Gnocchi - I ordered & didn't realize I was ordering Gnocchi :| I have had Gnocchi only once, years ago. I do not know what it's to be, the Gnocchi was soft & laid in a Oso Bucco "gravy" with some pieces of shredded meat. It tasted just like Oso Bucco :) Service - the service was friendly, not rushed, with good suggestions. One suggestion was the cheesy garlic bread :) Ambiance - comfortable, Old world casual. Noise level - was like a busy restaurant - fun, vibrant, happy! Yes, you can hear your friends conversation:) A nice compliment was the combo band which was soft background ambiance. During the summer tourist season I'd recommend making a reservation!

Great vegetarian options and they are flexible with the menu (asked for marinara gnocchi and received!) Went here after a whale watch and it was the perfect warm, carb-heavy dinner I needed. Highly recommend the dessert too!

This meal was one of the finest I've had, we were a party of 12 and had excellent service. The squid ink pasta was one of the best pasta I've ever eaten and I spent 5 months in Italy. My wife's chicken marsala was to die for. Typically we never order chicken in a nice restaurant cuz we can make that at home. Everyone in our party was singing praises about the food and atmosphere, and since I picked the location I got a lot of attaboys

They offer a big house salad, and roasted Broccoli. They also have Chicken Cacio de pepe, which I ordered without the chicken. My wife had Carbonara, both dishes were great - good size portions, too! Great service, a little view out the front windows - a great experience!

An absolute must! I've been enjoying this place for over 10 years now. Never disappoints! Carbonara is the best I've ever had.

Had a good dinner here. Love the chill vibes this town has to offer. Ordered Lamb Pappardelle, Osso Bucco, Chicken Masala and Grilled Octopus. All of them was so good but the Chicken Marsala was our favourite! Staffs were very friendly.

Can't recommend this place enough. From being greeted by the hostess to being seated. Our service was amazing and attentive. There are plenty of beer choices. As you will see in the pictures from a dark brown to a hef. The wings are smoked with a dry rub. I can't explain the flavor except unique. The wings were huge. The pan pizza had a baked crisped top and was combined with a pan style

There is indoor and outdoor seating which is fantastic if you want to enjoy the crisp outdoors. This place truly has options for everyone. We opted for a couple orders of the fish and chips, tuna sandwich and wings. The fish was great and fries have good flavor.

Lively atmosphere. Waitress smiling and helpful. I was not real hungry on arrival so I ordered "off" menu. She assisted in ordering a chicken with mixed veggies. It was a perfect meal. He ordered the chicken wings, spicy but tasty. Highly recommend for a beverage and/ or bite to eat.

This spot really has it all ! We couldn’t get even get a reservation from the day before because they are always so busy ! It was first come first serve - and thank goodness we found a spot for our party of ten . The food was delicious and the service was great !! We all ordered different dishes and all of it hit the spot!! It was a treat vibe - great atmosphere. My salmon fish was delicious and the mushroom bar pie was my favorite !!!

Such a good little brewery tucked into Downtown. Inside it was very cute but just crowded, they have seating outside in the back like a mini beer garden, so we sat out there and it was so beautiful and chill. They also have outside seating at the front of the building but I believe that is apart of the wait staff. They had a good selection of menu items, we didn’t eat so I cannot give comment on food. But drink wise, I got the Hibiscus Passionfruit cider which was so light and refreshing- not too many bubbles/fizzy. Overall great little space !

Brittany is a gem. Knows the menus, wants guests to feel comfortable. Very helpful, very welcoming. While training a new human who was also very lovely and immediately offered to help accommodate my suitcases fresh from the airport. Lovely welcome to town, thank you! The beer is also delicious, and the food, but service today won out.

We had dinner at this restaurant in Monterey and tried the calamari and the burger. Both were really good, but the burger was outstanding – juicy, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and it’s a great spot to enjoy good food with friends. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town!

Visiting my family. Stopped in was impressed with the awards on the wall. Ordered the Ravioli and it was ok, pizza came with a human hair cooked into it. Over all the food was ok, I am sure you can find better . The best part was the Bread sticks.

Giannis Pizza is always a place we like to eat at when we visit Monterey. We decided to get a pizza on our first day of vacation, Sunday, October 26, 2025. They were very busy. We ordered a small pepperoni. When they brought our pizza, it was burned all around the edge. We decided to keep our disappointment to ourselves. It was delivered hot but not much flavor and of course burned. We decided to give it another try on Thursday, October 30, ordering a small Meat-zilla. To our dismay, the pizza arrived burned on the edge and missing both pepperoni and beef. Giannis Meat-zilla menu description: A magnificent combo loaded with meat: Italian salami, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage, beef, and linguica. This is not the same good pizza we have enjoyed in the past.

My daughter and I were planning to have dinner elsewhere. However, she found Gianni's Pizza through other Google reviews. They have great parking. Even though it was packed, we found a table. Exceptional pizza, ravioli, and fresh salad. Great variety of fountain drinks. Italian gelato and candies.

Atmosphere is amazing. Customer service could use some help. The manager was not welcoming and overwhelmed. The pizza we ordered did not come out as requested. Bread sticks were amazing.

Great pizza. Very loud and you had to leave your table to order and get your own drinks. No service people to take your order. I was with 8 people and it was not convenient at all. With that said, the food was amazing.

Food is delicious. Tried about every pizza on the menu and they all hit, even the veggie. Will be working my way through the pastas next. Service is excellent I always sit at the bar. Sometimes you have to wait for food but it is so worth the wait!

The cottage pie was delicious! I asked for extra gravy and they were happy to oblige. They have a large selection of English ales. The servers were kind and attentive. Prices are appropriate. Decor is maybe a little kitchie but not stuffy. It was a great evening!

Absolutely amazing food. Our waiter David didn’t seem to care for us too much and didn’t know how to pour water properly, consistently splashing the table, but the nice blue haired waitress helped us out some to compensate. But again, the food was absolutely incredible, particularly the chicken pie that we ordered, as well as the potato wedge appetizers. We’d come back! Edit: came back the next day, food was still absolutely phenomenal and the service was much better too! The waitress Cayla was personable and provided great service.

Cool little pub hidden in a side street. Has a lovely little outdoor space where I say and enjoyed a Guinness on tap and chips. I look forward to returning to try more stuff! Service was super friendly and prompt, to boot.

Atmosphere: 10/10 - service was amazing and food was tasty. I had the fish and chips and my partner had the burger. The cod was very flaky and cooked just right. My partners burger was delicious and bigger than we expected. We will definitely be back when we’re in town again and would recommend!

Do not judge a book by its cover! When we pulled up, my husband was hesitant. But after looking at so many great reviews I was insistent on going in. - We had a group of 10 and the Crystal Fish staff were extremely accommodating. There was constantly water in all of our glasses. The food was absolutely amazing! I have had a lot of sushi. This was by far the best experience I have had. It was so fresh and the prices are so reasonable! We had quite a few newbies trying sushi and they all loved it. Shawna’s chimichanga roll (not pictured) was a hit with everyone at the table! I would highly suggest this to anyone who is a newbie with sushi. - If you are on the fence about where to get sushi, you should come to Crystal Fish!

This place is pure Japanese authenticity with a fun twist—chefs here clearly have a secret mission: to spoil you with the juiciest, dreamiest bites. The fish? So tender and fresh it basically melted on my tongue (yes, I may have fallen a little in love with it). I grabbed the spicy edamame, and wow… that little kick of heat was pure happiness in a bowl. And the draft Sapporo? Honestly, it’s like the beer and the fish have some kind of secret love affair—together they were just perfection. No question about it, I’ll be sneaking back here the next time I wander through Monterey. ❤️

That was…DELICIOUS! I’m reviewing this AT the restaurant, poor folks had the power cut on them but still maintained a positive attitude. I’m glad I decided to strip out of my wetsuit after a freezing cold swim to drive over here to try out their sushi, I inhaled the entire row in one breath 🙈 I was worried about parking but I came at 6pm and street parking seems to be pretty free outside of business hours (9am-6pm), easily found parking spots by the restaurant. I would highly recommend coming here for their sushi!

Absolutely beautiful presentations of fresh sushi and other delicacies. Plentiful menu, tons of rolls, and all the traditional Japanese items. Age dashi tofu and amaebi are standouts.

My husband and I have been coming here for years. The fish used to make the sushi is always fresh. The sushi bar looks great. They do get really busy on Holidays.

The starters — calamari and clam chowder — were excellent. Unfortunately, the main courses were a huge disappointment. The salmon linguine and the lobster ravioli were both very poorly prepared. One went straight to the garbage, the other sent me straight to the bathroom. Really unfortunate experience. Based on the food quality, I won’t be returning.

We decided to try Paluca Trattoria in Monterey and unfortunately, it was not a good experience. The food itself was just okay—nothing that stood out or made me want to come back. For the price and location, I expected more flavor and quality, but it was very average. The biggest disappointment was the service. From the moment we sat down, things felt disorganized. People who arrived after us received their food before we did, which was frustrating and hard to overlook. On top of that, I had to ask my waiter three separate times for bread, and each time he either forgot or didn’t bring it until much later. Something that simple should not be so difficult, and it set the tone for the whole meal. Normally, I’m a very generous tipper because I understand how hard restaurant work can be. But in this case, I didn’t feel the service deserved one at all. Being ignored and forgotten multiple times is not acceptable, especially when we were polite and patient. The only reason this review is 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the host. She was welcoming, kind, and friendly when we walked in, and that was the one bright spot in an otherwise disappointing evening. Sadly, the rest of the experience did not match her level of hospitality. Overall, Paluca Trattoria just didn’t deliver. Between the mediocre food, the long waits, and the inattentive service, it’s not a place I’d return to. There are too many great restaurants in Monterey to waste time and money on one that can’t get the basics right.

Every other place on the dock seems touristy and gross. Boyfriend found this place as a last resort and it was cute and delicious! An underrated gem. Jenny and Lina were so sweet, attentive and thoughtful. They even came and put the umbrellas over us when the sun came out. You should eat lunch here!

Very nice place! We were outside and had lunch watching the seals! It was unexpected! The only recommendation: bring a jacket. In addition to the fact that this is a good place for watching fur seals, it is also a very tasty restaurant! Highly recommend! All the dishes were delicious, especially the lobster! We will definitely come back again!

Gamberoni prawns and Ingridina smoked salmon fettuccine were delicious (but rich, so be prepared). But the Calacrian prawns appetizer was out of this world! I wish I could remember the name of the young man who served us because he was very attentive - with his timing. It was great that we could bring our dog (outside dining only, if course), and the ambiance was just right.

Views are great. Outdoor seating is really cool. Got juevos rancheros which was delicious. Got halibut tacos at the table as well whixh were more of a healthy tasting option. White mocha was actually very watered down and not sweet if thats how you like it. Paper straws as a heads up for those who need that info.

We would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re anywhere in the area. The ambiance is welcome and cozy, the staff are highly attentive and friendly, and the food is sooo delicious. Fresh ingredients and very good selection of options and drinks. If you didn’t arrive early for breakfast, it’s still worth the wait.

One of my favorite restaurants for breakfast/brunch in Monterey. The food is abundant and delicious, the staff is friendly, the ambiance is pleasant and you get a nice ocean view. To avoid a long waiting list, I recommend to get there before 9:30am.

Nice food and really quick service! We had the pancakes and salmon eggs Benedict. The orange juice tasted a bit off, but maybe that was the variety used, or perhaps it wasn’t fresh. Otherwise it was an excellent meal and really enjoyed our visit.

We waited over 40 minutes to be seated, only to be placed next to the trash bin. On top of that, an employee was loudly wiping down freshly washed cutlery to remove water spots, which made the dining experience very uncomfortable (especially since there were plenty of guests eating—I don’t understand why this task had to be done out in the open). There were also lots of flies, and the place felt dirty in many corners. During the busy hours, it seemed like they were short-staffed because it took a long time just to place an order. The food itself wasn’t bad, but the poor hygiene and terrible service made the overall experience unpleasant. I won’t be coming back just for average food in such an environment.

Wave Street Cafe is a favorite of mine and my wife's places to go when we head out to Monterey. It's a very beautiful restaurant with incredible views of the ocean. In addition, they have plenty of shade and allow dogs on the patio/outside area. They generally have great food, with me enjoying the egg's benedict, but the staff is quite busy with the many guests so don't expect to always be asked for refills on coffee or water. In addition, there is a long wait time usually on the weekends, anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to be seated. Other than how busy this place gets, it's a great restaurant!

My granddaughters and I are having a wonderful time in Monterey, and we accidentally found this amazing pizza place! The pizza was incredibly delicious, and the crispy crust was just perfect. We really enjoyed our meal there!

There was a bunch of different slices you could choose from. My personal favorite is pepperoni and mushroom, which that didn’t have. I’ve been to other by the slice restaurants and they don’t have much of a ready to eat selection like Pizza My Heart. Most slices are 5.00-6.00$ and for a extra four you could get a shirt. There was a large line but plenty of space to eat in place. First time being here, I usually go to the one in Santa Cruz.

We went on a Monday night, before a trip to the cinema. Ordered a 12 inch pizza, told we could get an 18 inch for the same price (Monday to Thursday). Enough pizza for the next day- breakfast, lunch and dinner! LOTS of toppings . Really nice pizzas. Friendly staff. Nice to have a takeaway pizza that you can sit and eat in. Much cheaper than eating in a restaurant. Salads available and drinks.

Pretty decent pizza place. The pizza is pretty good, but what I liked about it was it wasn’t very greasy. We got take out so can’t say much about the restaurant, but it looked like a fun place. The cheese bread was better than expected and the pepperoni pizza was exactly as expected. Obviously popular because when I went to pick up it was pretty busy. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed when I came in but it was around 6pm on a Friday though. I’d definitely come back.

Stopped by to grab a slice as I passed through Monterey on Highway 1. The pizza is filling for one slice and has a fair amount of toppings. It taste fresh and the crush texture is firm with soft bite. I got the D'Lex Chicken and Bacon, it's similar to a chicken bacon ranch with mushrooms, green onions, and garlic. If I'm in the area I'll be stopping by again!

I love the entire experience every time I drive over from Salinas for the perfect slice. It's always busy but in a good way, a fun way. Their pizza is a pizza I have yet to find anywhere else nearby. The customer service is hands down the best in any eat-in pizza restaurant I've been to. One of the best parts about Pizza My Heart is their stamp cards, freebies are always a plus. The atmosphere is very classic pizza place booths with a surf decor. Not a place to sleep on if you're from the area or just visiting and want a great experience.

Great variety of pizzas 🍕 by the slice or 12, 14 or 18 inch pie. Reasonable price and plenty of places to sit inside and outside.

Was debating to try this restaurant or Manasiri’s but ended up trying Crepes of Brittany. Tried a couple of crepes, was pretty happy and satisfied about it. Sat outside, weather was nice. Restaurant was packed when we went but we pretty much walked in and out, plenty of seating I will say. There was no bathroom, we had to use the hotel across it bathroom.

Called by here on a Saturday morning and there was a queue but it moved quickly. Two of us had sweet, and two had savoury crepes - all very good. Interesting interior, it's in a pedestrianised area but parking nearby.  Would recommend it.

Conveniently located just outside the Portola hotel and spa, Crepes of Brittany was a quaint and comfortable spot. We loved the relaxing feel of the outdoor seating. They were busy on both our visits, but they did a great job getting through all the orders quickly. The wait for your food was much shorter than what they tell you. Staff were friendly and efficient. The food and coffee were delicious. Highly recommend everything we ordered which were, lemon sugar crepes, strawberry crepe, smoke salmon crepe, quiche, cappuccino & latte. We paid approximately $70-75 with tip for every visit.

I'm breton and picky. Got the complète (ham, egg and cheese) and it was an authentic breton galette (ie. Buckwheat crêpe) and very tasty. Their freshly squeezed orange juice complemented nicely my breakfast to fuely drive to San Francisco airport.

Great food, good service, nice owner/manager. The croissant was fluffy and tasty, and they have GF options for the crepes. Highly recommend.

Had a convenient menu outside for any waits. The staff was very friendly and the food and drinks came out super fast. My iced mocha was full of flavor and my Nutella with strawnana crêpe was packed with ingredients and flavor. Definitely will have to come again

I have been visiting this café over the years whenever I attend a conference in Monterey. I was reminded again this morning of special this place is. My mocha was perfect, ahh the rich flavor of quality ingredients. My brie, onions and egg crepe on gluten-free was delicious. The crepe had a buttery crispness. While I was there, French speaking guests asked to meet the owners. I was pleasantly surprised to see the owner come out in an apron to greet the guests in French. This place is authentic. If you're in the area, treat yourself to a charming and delicious French café experience.

The food was amazing. I went with a party of 5 and we ordered half the menu to share family style. The mushroom risotto and the lamb shank were my top favorites. The atmosphere was also nice. The service was not. Our server was like, really sweaty for some reason. He looked disheveled and he spilled a drink on my friends placesetting. No big deal. He said "oops let me get you a new one" a new drink? A new placesetting? I dunno because he did not return with either. Also a woman, who I think is the new owner or manager, was helping place our dishes and it was an awkward angle so I helped her. She didn't warn me that the plates were incredibly hot!

Came here for dinner after spending the day in Monterey. This was such a pleasant surprise! All the dishes were very well done! The grilled octopus was sooo soft that we've never had octopus prepared this way and yet you'd still get the grilled/smokey flavor. The local sardines were also a surprise. With the interesting presentation and the toast, they worked so well. The gnocchi was so rich but without being overwhelming and I really liked how the corn gives it a different layer of texture. We also got the lamb shank and the meat was tender though it does not come off the bone and I think that was how it was intended. Overall it was a great dining experience.

Had a really nice dinner here, with plenty of outdoor seating. We started with the ham + cheese plate, with nice serrano ham, great cheese, and excellent fresh bread. I had the fried chicken for my entree, which was fantastic -- the batter was light, crispy, and delicious. Service is very friendly, as is the owner. Good choice for a romantic dinner!

Found this place on a whim, and I'm glad we did! Small and intimate dining area with large windows to allow us to see the setting sun and warm us up on the cooling early evening. Started with the chicken liver pate, mushroom soup, ahi crudo, and their eggplant fries. The reisling gelee on the plate brightened up the richness of the dish and the bitterness from the charred sourdough worked really well with the mousse. Our server mentioned that the eggplant fries was their signature app. Interesting texture of the fries as they came out, but started to become soggy and more watery as it sat at the table. The aioli that was served paired nicely and the lemon helped to cut through the oil. The octopus with romesco would be my personal choice for appetizer. Tender legs, but they could provide a bit sharper knife to cut the octopus. The crispy lamb shank was very very good, tender meat with a very flavorful and crispy outer crust as it was flash fried to finish. The za'atar spice blended with the slightly spicy broth really rounded it all together. The star of the show by far was the chicken torchon...with eight thick slices, more then enough for our four top sauced with roasted chicken jus poured table side. Fresh sauce vert sprinkled atop with a bed of soubise. The chicken was super juicy and tender rolled up with a nice and thin crispy skin. A definite must order! Will definitely make a plan to stop by again the next time I'm in town.

The food and service was great. Their recommendations were amazing. I really loved their dish called the bourride. It’s basically a seafood broth made with saffron. It has a rich creamy texture and finger licking good. We also ordered the lamb shank which was tasty as well. The lamb was crispy in the outside; tender and juicy on the inside.

Great food, wine menu, ambiance, service. Would absolutely come back. We didn’t make a reservation although for a Monday it was quite busy. We got the sourdough, cauliflower, fried chicken. Everything was fresh, thoughtfully layered with flavor (even the charred sourdough), and well seasoned.

Went for dinner. Had the moules/frites, mussels and fries. Nice different approach to the traditional French dish. Very tasty sauce with tahini. Well seasoned. Mussels were fresh and flavorful. The tahini sauce give a bit of gritty feeling. I would maybe pass it through a sieve before serving. Also, the fries should be in a separate bowl so they don’t become soggy. The pickled vegetables were very good. Wine pour is small, most likely not even 5oz. Very frustrating. Everyone knows reading my reviews that I don’t appreciate being ripped off by wine prices and/or quantity and this restaurant is no exception to that bad trend. Disappointing. The menu is not extensive but dishes looked good.

We had the garlic chicken and lamb/beef pita wraps. The gentleman at the window was a bit blunt when answering our questions about the food. I almost felt like apologizing for not being an expert. The food took a long time to be prepared, there was only outside seating and the man second guessed our choice to get our pitas to go rather than sit outside in the cold. The pitas could have been bigger or cheaper. The lamb/beef pita was definitely better, but not earth shattering. The chicken was overcooked and tough. Were they good? Yes. Will we eat here again? No The man kindly gave us baklava, but I’m sorry to say it was the most underwhelming baklava I’ve had.

Limited place but we were taken care of well by the owner who runs it alone. He was just opening up and went back to kitchen to prepare our order. Hot Falafal was easily the best of the lot which we totally enjoyed since it was a cold day. The dolmas were yummy too. We also tasted Baklava which were very juicy and fresh.

The garlic chick wrap is amazing. The garlic sauce they use is incredible. I loved the warm pita, chicken, and vegetables too. I got baklava too and I think it's excellent. I highly recommend coming here.

We visited when spending a weekend in Monterey and loved this place! The owner/staff was so friendly and helpful, the food was amazing, and the little outdoor seating area was charming. Will definitely be back when we are in the area.

This place has very good food and it's very reasonably priced for the area. As someone who eats Mediterranean food as often as I can, I thought it was quite authentic. Spicy lemonade: delicious. The guy running the little restaurant was nice. To anyone misunderstanding the man's demeanor, they simply don't comprehend how culture is in the eastern world.

Delicious place! The falafel were light and crispy and the garlic chicken smelled like heaven. Baklava was tasty too. The host is super nice too! Good stop in Monterey!

Quite possibly the most delicious wraps I've experienced. Don't be put off by the tucked away location or the quick, blunt service! We were gifted some pieces of baklava on the way out, and we couldn't stop singing its praises the entire walk back.

Wild Fish is my favorite restaurant in the area! And shout out to our server, Ravi! He made the night feel so special for us. Every time I visit, I always make sure to have a meal here. The servers and staff are very welcoming, and the food will make you feel like you’ve made it to heaven! Definitely stop by if you are in the area.

New sea food experience and live jazz. Oystershell martini was briny and good...until the third sip, wished the expensive experience was over. Sablefish collar was delicious and broke some of my dining frontiers. Bouillabaisse was delicious, halibut was fantastic, popovers were dense but good. Sticky toffee pudding was only okay, candied pecans were the highlight, but only a few on the plate. $300 for two people with wine.

Food was adequate and lacked flavor. Went for lunch and ordered the popovers, chowder and whole fish. Popovers were okay. The chowder was too salty and not much flavor. The whole fish was cooked well and tender, however the chimichurri sauce lacked flavor. And food was pricey.

I came to this place because of all the recommendations on Reddit by the locals. We ordered a whole fish(75$) and clam chowder(15$+) The chimichurri on the fish was delicious. Fish was soft and tasted fresh. Potatoes were textured and delicious. **The salad, on the other hand, was WAYY too sour. I don’t know what they put in there, but it was unpleasant. CLAM CHOWDER: had high expectations, but was served one of the worst clam chowders I’ve had. EXTREMELY SALTY. Almost as salty as the ocean water. I notified the waiter, he politely ordered me another one. The second time, it became very watered down. It was obvious the chef just decided to put water into the chowder since it was made in a huge batch. We just decided to return the dish. Despite the disappointment from the clam chowder, the waiters were absolutely amazing. The live music playing even at 9 pm Friday, provided a phenomenal atmosphere. I would totally come here again, and I’ll write another review then.

We had mimosas with fresh squeezed orange juice, the freshest calamari with a lovely spicy dip, amazing melt-in-your-mouth bread & butter, smoked fish soup, fish tacos, cod burgers, fries to knock your socks off and champagne. It was a wonderful experience.

I ordered the sea bass. I don’t remember the portions being so small the last time I dined here; I can’t imagine how much smaller the small plates would be. The fish was bland and undercooked. Actually, I hate to say it, but the flavor was truly unpleasant, like it was bordering on rancid. I couldn’t even finish half of it and lost my appetite, which is totally unlike me. I politely and honestly informed the wait staff and he said he would talk to the chef and asked if I wanted something else instead. I declined, paid the check (which still had the sea bass charge) and we left. I will not be back.

Definitely make a reservation,...as they are very popular and it's no wonder! This was my first visit and will not be my first. Parking is street parking, so depending on local events could be a bit challenging. About the Wild Fish Restaurant...from the moment I arrived to when I departed, everyone from the owner to the staff were nothing short of spectacular! They met everyone with a smile, answered every question and were attentive to all their customers. I had their swordfish, it was approx. 1/2" thick and was tender and moist, it came with potatoes and greens...all cooked perfectly. You must try the coconut and rum cocktail...amazing and their butterscotch desert was perfect as well. Give them a visit, you won't be disappointed!

An incredibly delicious spot! I popped in for the first time and was so pleasantly surprised by the flavors of the matcha latte and avocado toast. Everything tasted so fresh and almost gourmet. The atmosphere here is warm and welcoming, with staff who smile, happily answer every question, and make you feel right at home. Orders come out super quickly too, which is such a treat. If I find myself in Monterey again, I’ll definitely swing by for another sip of something delightful. They also sell little bags of beans with creative blends—of course, I couldn’t resist and picked up one called The Captain. ❤️

Coffee was amazing! Picked up a couple of pounds to go and loved it. The avocado sandwich didn’t disappoint either—same with the matcha. Loved the atmosphere; it’s kind of an open, airy hangar vibe. Lots of people, but even during rush hour we were able to get a table once our order was ready. Would be great if they had a few tables outside though!

Pretty good coffee and breakfast eats, I will be back. I got the Lavender latte which was really good and the avocado toast which was decent. A little pricey for the toast but I think it was worth it. The location was pretty good, plenty of seating options. Staff was nice and gave good recommendations.

This is the cutest coffee shop! We stopped in before whale watching and got two lattes, and the avocado toast and banana peanut butter toast. Everything was amazing. Some of the best avocado toast I’ve ever had! Oh and the coffee cake muffin was PHENOMENAL

Captain + Stoker is a must-visit in Monterey! The coffee is top-notch—smooth, rich, and expertly made. I especially loved the oat milk latte. The space is bright, welcoming, and bike-themed, with a cool, laid-back vibe. Staff are super friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. Their food options, like the avocado toast and vegan pastries, are fresh and flavorful. Great spot to hang out, work remotely, or just enjoy a sunny morning on the patio. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great coffee and good vibes!

Drinks and pastries were delicious. My chai was not the best one I’ve had, but it was good. Typical concentrate of most coffee shops that don’t make their own concentrate. Place is cute and open air which adds to the atmosphere.

Only sad I missed the iced coffee on the menu. Looked so amazing. Otherwise really great stop. Oh man their orange roll was so good. They did not have any special drinks when we stopped - I usually like to try the new or best thing at a place… but everything was good and the service was really nice.

Maria was the best! She was friendly, attentive and quick with everything! Food was fantastic and I ate it in 30 seconds cus it was so good. Maria, thank you so much for the best customer service!

I rarely write reviews, but Maria at Denny’s absolutely deserves the spotlight. From the moment we walked in, she treated us like family. Her energy was warm, genuine, and exactly what you hope for when you’re grabbing a comforting meal. Maria moved through the dining room like a pro—checking on every table without ever seeming rushed. Wow what an experience I was so hungry this was the right place to come I didn't want the usual bacon and eggs. So my waitress Olivia suggest the Lumberjack slam, what a meal ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast and pancakes, YUM! Although I wasn't interested in the pancakes, so Olivia suggested to up my pancakes to French Toast. I didn't know you could this, it was a little extra money but that was fine with me, it was worth it. My meal was the best ever. Thank you Oliva for this exceptional service I will be back for sure.

On the way to Pfeifer Falls Trail at Big Sur, we wanted to have some breakfast before climbing up the trail. We found this one on the way and we stopped by. It's on one way street which we didn't know it has a parking lot so we parked on the street because we don't want to u-turn if we missed the parking lot. Anyhow, the restaurant is nice and clean, also showed its age a little. We're seated right away, the server was extremely attentive and pleasant, wonderful. We love the superslam from Denny's the last time we tried after years of missing it. We both ordered the superslam as usual, everything came out perfectly cooked. We're quite happy. The hash browns were our favorite because we can't make them, always crispy outside and moist inside. The butter pan cakes, the crispy bacons, the sausages and scrambled eggs were excellent. A perfect breakfast before a hike. Denny's now is our official breakfast restaurant LOL.

Came here with someone who has an extreme dairy allergy. We ordered burgers, one with no cheese or dairy of any kind (I also clearly stated that it was because of an allergy, not a dietary preference). When they arrived, both had cheese on them. We let them know of the mistake, so they took it back and held it in the kitchen for roughly 5 minutes before sending it back out. When we inspected it again, it was clear that the kitchen just took the cheese slices off of the already made burger—leaving melted cheese residue visible to the naked eye (in picture). At this point we just left as the order was to-go and we had already paid and waited for so long. It was clear that whoever took our order was new so we wanted to hold some grace for that, but as someone who has worked years in the food industry it is so important to listen and communicate when there is a customer with an allergy. Hoping management sees this and fixes this issue in the future as it is extremely unsafe practice.

Had a nice filling breakfast here before a long drive! Opens early too.

Elva, our server, was excellent! She is a longtime employee and was a delight to have as our waitress. For example, she brought extra napkins without our having to even ask. But what really won is over was her wonderful personality. We could not have gotten a better server. She's the best! (If a manager is reading this, she should get a bonus and a raise!)

One of the best Denny’s restaurants in Monterey Bay Area. The customer service is superb, especially during late night/early morning hours. The food is cooked well and tastes excellent. The portions are generous and condiments are available as needed. The restaurant is clean as well as the restrooms. The pancakes here are always cooked perfectly as well as the crepes. Steaks are cooked perfectly especially if ordered medium/medium well. Parking is plentiful and nice large windows to see the sights of seaside/New Monterey.

Just ate here and the vibes were honestly really good. Super quiet and chill, no wait for a table at all. It felt homey and relaxing, like the kind of spot you wanna hang out in for a while? Service was great. Super friendly and fast. Food was solid—had a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. Classic diner-style food, nothing fancy but definitely hit the spot! I 100% will order the chili cheese fries TWICE next time they were bomb!! About $20 per person. Worth it for the atmosphere and how easy going everything was. Would come back for sure if I’m in the area again with my family.

This place is the place to go and hangout with family and friends. It's cozy, and has many things to do. There is a reading corner with books, you can play loteria, and even listen to cassettes. The service was great and the food is really good as well. They brought the check in a CD case so it was really cool.

Super friendly staff, decent burgers, great location. Recommend eating there...like most burger joints, takeout was not great, due to soggy fries, but we'll give it another try, when we have time to eat there. Everything was very flavorful and made to order. Definitely a quality place.

The food was pretty good, the service was definitely great. The atmosphere was pretty good. Overall would come back again. The burger was super hot and fresh tasting, and the grilled cheese was just ok, not really worth the $9. Peanutbutter milkshake is delicious. Will come back just for one of those.

While the grilled chicken sandwiches were okay (they had some kind of spices on them that took away from the grilled flavor of the chicken), we were disappointed that one can't order a sandwich by itself. One has to pay more for something they don't want. We don't eat a lot of fried foods and if one has to order it with a side, it would be nice to have a healthier option like a salad or coleslaw. The burgers and sandwiches served here come with fries or for an additional amount, can be ordered with sweet potato fries or onion rings. The sweet potato fries were at least good, but the onion rings were HORRIBLE! They tasted like processed frozen rings that were heated up.

It was a quite and nice diner. Had lots of interesting and retro decor With cassette tapes and old timey vibes. Food was really good. We ordered burgers and fish & chips. Good price. The fried foods (fish and fries) were really well done, not oily and gross. It's near the aquarium but has its own parking so you don't have to worry about fighting for a parking space.

First time at this place. We were super hungry and ended up here. Checking to yelp and claimed the free strawberry milkshake, which was super awesome. Had chicken French roll and veggie burger both were great. Upgraded the fries to seasoned fries which was freshly made. The guy was super awesome and the whole place gave us a traditional feel.

We ordered take-out and found the service to be fast, with a friendly cashier. The food was average, not particularly outstanding. The rolled tacos lacked crunch, and the birria quesadillas could have been crispier. There's street parking available, but it might get busy and packed on weekends.

Tacos were pretty good.. my Burrito wasn't all that good but was okay to still eat. Lots of flies which was eh but I ger it... But those tacos were pretty good with the sauce.

Five Stars! My husband is a picky eater and we both definitely enjoyed their chicken burritos ! The veggies in it were different from what we're used to, but delicious different! The cashier was friendly and the service was super quick which made our experience better. Parking was accessible. The price was right for the size of the burrito ( and it was packed with a lot of chicken). We're on vacation and thought to try this place. I'm so glad we did ! It is a " little taco spot" but SO WORTH IT !!

This place is really good! Came here with a fish and shrimp taco craving, left with a happy belly and no complaints. We got the fish taco plate, shrimp taco plate, and shrimp enchiladas plate. The shrimp seemed like it may have been boiled instead of grilled, and the enchilada sauce was just 2 points off of great. The rice and beans here are great! I would absolutely come back for fish tacos here though (was probably the best plate out of the three that we got).

Delicious food, friendly service, good prices. The carnitas are weel seasoned and not too fatty, the torta bread is soft and fresh, he nachos supreme are truly supreme The separate seating area space across the kitchen is also theirs.

We had a handful of folks that ordered different items from the menu including burritos, enchiladas, and flautas. Everyone enjoyed the food. There's a beach park a block away with tables. Also ample room to eat inside the restaurant. A solid choice for those that don't want to spend an arm and a leg on Cannery Row and open for some simple Mexican food.

I’m really disappointed. Every time I order from this place, the rice is undercooked and the chicken is way too salty. It’s frustrating because no other place has this issue—only here. I was looking forward to a decent meal for my early morning break at 4:41am, and once again it was ruined. Please fix this.

Arrived an hour before closing, we were told they wouldn’t be cooking more beef, and our portion sizes were small. I think they were trying to hold off making more rice too! It got very busy once we got our food and sat down, they began cooking more beef and were giving out bigger portions of food. Definitely didn’t get our value for money.

Place is literally always disgustingly dirty when we’ve been here. Out of everything. Wait forever to be acknowledged. No pico, no chips, no juices. Light scoops on everything. Not worth the money.

Probably the worst Chipotle location I've ever been to. Service is extremely slow for an area that attracts many visitors from out of town. This is the type of location that should be booming and on point not running out of food and not having enough qualified employees to handle such a rush. Food is chipotle and that's about all its good for.

I love the rice, guacamole, and chips. That is my go to. The service could be a little friendlier, but I do go during busy times. They need to give a little more attention to the dining room.

Came in today for lunch and they had brown lettuce and black guacamole remnants that look like they were both from yesterday. They were annoyed when someone asked them if they had fresh lettuce and also said they were out of guacamole. Good employees are tough to hire but clearly a manager wasn't in and the staff just didn't care. Now as Im physically sick Im wondering if the meat or other products had just been left out from yesterday.

They don’t have any salsa. They don’t have 2/3 of the meat options. They give tiny portions, they aren’t willing to sub in anything else to make up for what they don’t have, and then still charge full price. Probably the worst chipotle experience I’ve had in 10+ years.

Stopped by for lunch here with my lady and the food was very delicious. The staff are all very friendly and kind. They have a chip and salsa bar which is a plus because you get to choose how much you want to eat and the chips are freshly cooked. If you're in the area, this place is a definite must to stop in and grab a bite to eat. We'll definitely be back here in the future. Thank you Papa Chano's.

Best authentic Mexican food on Alvarado. Definitely recommend the tacos. Tacos are a decent sized portion as well so two is all you need. Eating here can be super affordable. Rice and beans also taste great. Free chips and salsa with any order Plenty of seating inside and staff cleans the tables consistently.

We ordered dinner togo here during our visit to Monterey and it was good. The service was good and the food portions were large. Some of the food was kind of salty, but overall we would say it was good.

Pretty solid Mexican food. The shrimp quesadilla was the best and I rate it a 5/5. The shrimp tacos were good as well, perhaps a 4/5. The fish taco was really fresh and a 4/5. A shrimp quesadilla, two fish tacos and two shrimp tacos costs 37 with tip. Good price to value ratio!

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed. It saddened me when their Seaside location closed because it was so close to my place of work, but whenever I make it to downtown Monterey, you can bet I am going to stop in for their Platillo de Pastor. Rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, corn tortillas, and a heaping pile of Al Pastor. They’ve got free chips and salsa, aguas frescas, and an entire assortment of Mexican specialties. This family owned restaurant doesn’t waste time with frills, instead focusing on quality food.

Opening hours says they are until 12 midnight, but the lobby was locked, and the staff was cleaning up around 10:15pm. She said that we could order through the drive-through, and when we walked there, the staff denied us from ordering without a vehicle due to safety hazards of walking in a drive-through. I totally understand that and don't want to give the staff any issues, so we left and came back with a car 10 minutes later. Is there like a separate opening hours for the lobby or what? Because if Google maps says its 12 midnight, who would have thought that may only apply for the drive-through section only... Regardless, I ordered a Crispy Chicken Delux set. Order came super quick and I was in and out of the drive through within 5 mins. Fries were piping hot and crispy. So good. Burger was rather meh... chicken was dry.

By far the worst customer service experience today!! I came to order food on their drive thru this morning the young guy got upset and gave me attitude over not clearly paying attention to what I ordered and assumed I ordered something different and proceeds to ask me what flavor when I Dias I did not prefer that he got upset and apologized very sarcastically which is not ok as I met age him any attitude. I got attitude as well from his colleague giving me the order she had a very ugly look in her face when I pulled up whenever once smiled just looked at me with a very mean look. This is sad as I’m usually happy going there because the other older lady usually taking orders is super sweet and always smiling unlike the employees today!! They looked mad and as if your forcing them to take your food order. I attached a copy of my receipt so you know I’m real !!

Ordered a bagel through the drive-through. It was hard as a rock. I returned it later in the afternoon. I asked the clerk if I could have a plain quarter pounder. And she said yes. Great customer service.

Good as always, but never fantastic. Burgers are always fresh, but not as fresh as they could be. Not to mention the size of the patties is super slim. I know they've gotten smaller because I never used to be able to finish a big mac, but now I can. But atleast the fries are the best unless you visit top tier burger places like Habit or 5 guys.

Horrible experience, it took them over 30 minutes to make two medium smoothies. They had us waiting outside and told us they were gonna take a few minutes. Walked in after waiting 10+ extra minutes and they still hadn’t started making the smoothies. The machine was not broken at all, they just never got around to them, totally unacceptable wished for a refund back.

They got my order wrong. They did not have (or give) me any napkins. Burgers were dry and burnt tasting. Fries were good, not over salted like they usually are. And they got my order out quickly despite a gentleman in front of me waiting 20 minutes for two black coffees. And McDonald's has become severely expensive for cheap food. Over $50 for 3-10 piece nuggets, a medium #1, 3-mcdoubles and 3-medium fries.

Prejudice establishment that wouldnt take our order at the counter specifically and said we could only order of the kiosk if we wanted to order. Called and they said that it wasnt protocol. Needs to ve adressed immediately, . Employees need training.

Fast food style pizza, but it took 25 mins for our food to be ready so we left and came back. The cheese pizza was pretty bland, but at least there was a thick layer of cheese. There are lots of tables for seating but it's not very clean. The garage was completely full and overflowing.

The pizza was really delicious and tasted great. It came out really fast. We originally wanted to dine in, but unfortunately the seating available wasn't plus size friendly. The chairs were too painful and uncomfortable to sit in, so we had to switch to take out.

$3 for toppings which are barely visible ( I choose mushrooms spinach and artichoke) is plain ripoff. You cannot taste the marinara....very disappointing. Avoid

The staff was friendly, quick and the food was good. The mozzarella sticks were close to 10 dollars. This is pricey but it is Monterey so it's ripe to happen. More cheese than breading, also better than Sonic for example overall. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Very disappointed, lady was a bit rude or just miserable to be at work not sure which but I can deal with that, what made this experience tell myself never to go there again is the fact I saw a fruit fly buzzing around in the parmasan cheese shaker, I take the shake to.the grumpy lady and tell her about it amd her response was oh really? With a tone of sarcasm in her voice. No offer to remake the pizza let alone another cheese shaker, nothing but a sarcastic sounding response. Never recommend this place. Another pizza place few blocks away looked much better and they have different sizes of pizza you can order and people who enjoy their job

Super yummy pizza that was hot and made fresh to order. Great quality ingredients and the employees were very nice. Got the pickle chips and a pizza for $27, I feel like it was well worth it!

Today, this Carls lost a customer. I’ll drive farther to get their awesome food. Their food is pricey, sure, but the quality is worth it. However, my drive through person today was in a bad mood and gave me the follow f chocolate shake filled up only half way through. When I asked her to fill it up, she said that was all I was getting Wow!

Building 🏢 has extensive fire 🔥 damage, not currently open. Interesting that the owner followup wants a url filled out to see why the dissatisfaction occurred. Google still says the business is opened, local news 📰 shared the fire damage and closure, owner should be more in touch with the business and read the feedback, and mark it as temporarily closed so folks don't waste time going there. Update, saw the business is now temporarily closed on Gmaps.

17 bucks for santa fe chicken combo with fried zuchini. I had to throw some of it out because it was gross. The zucchini must have been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, please see the pictures. The sandwich was OK. The diet coke tasted a bit like chemicals. Like anyone in the drivethru at lunch, I don't have the time to go back. This would be a lot of money for a sandwich and fried zucchini even if it was of high quality but this has to be the worst Carl's Jr food I have ever had. I was swindled. 17 bucks for this. It's my fault for going to a chain fast food place in downtown PG\Monterey when there are so many restauraunts around where 17 bucks will go very far. I will avoid this place from now on.

Kenny was the manager working during our visit to the Monterey location, and she is fabulous! I felt like I was at a sit down restaurant with five star service. Not use to receiving service like that in a fast food restaurant. I appreciate her and your organization is very fortunate to have her!

This Carl's Jr. is conveniently located and the food is consistently good. My chicken sandwich was served quickly. The employee who helped me made sure that I had everything I needed for my order to go. Also, this location always has clean restrooms, which makes visiting this restaurant a pleasant experience.

Today’s Update: Today, The Carl’s Jr was now demolished because of that fire on Last April, I’m sorry guys to here that, but now this restaurant is now closed!

Worst experience ever with this location I ordered from food worth $40 and was disappointed very disappointed the food wasn’t good at all has very bad old test. The food was greasy and nasty. Taste really bad. I live in Modesto the over there their service is great and the food really enjoyable.

This was one of the only places open late at night, which was really convenient. There were a few homeless individuals around while ordering, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was decent—just what you’d expect for a late-night bite.

Service sucked, food was good placed a cash order at the kiosk cuz no body greeted me then waited to find out the order wasn't placed even though I got a receipt then had to wait for the workers who didn't help me to fix it. which then took about 5 minutes for them to just place the order... Then make it so the kiosk accepts cash and that the order actually goes through to the employees

I honestly haven’t eaten at Jack in the Box in YEARS!!! To my surprise the burger 🍔 was simply delicious for being fast food. Both the French fry’s and curly fries were hot and crispy. There was a small wait but it wasn’t very long. Keep up the great work 👍🏻

I have been coming to this jack in the box for a long time but lately they have been slacking off they don’t have anything that is on the menu and forget my order, I asked for soda and don’t even give me my drink before I can say anything they slam the slider on me. NEVER COME HERE

Very consistent imo. Tacos, Chicken Teriyaki Bowls and Burgers taste very similar to the way they did 35 years ago. “Whenever I’m staying in town I typically drive-thru for late night tacos”

I ordered a Black forest ham FootLong and paid using a coupon that offer “Get ONE FOOTLONG for $7.99”. I paid using my debit card. When I check my bank balance later, I was charged a lot more. I always order the same sandwich and the price of the coupon wit tax i is around 8.70. It is not the first time they overcharge me in this store.

Worker only spoke a few words of broken English making it quite difficult to properly communicate my order. Ultimately she got the order wrong, leaving out some of what I ordered. Do better, Subway.

I asked if I could get a spinach wrap breakfast sandwich as a 6" was told yes and then at checkout was charged for a 12". Every time I come here I remember why I haven't been here in ages. Fast food quality at sit down prices... ugh. Better sandwiches and better prices at Safeway.

This server I think her name is Olivia, has worked there for several years. Every time she helps me, she has trouble with the rewards card. I usually want to add my rewards, then pay eith my credit card. She always has trouble with it. She needs more training please.

Im from LA came to live to Monterey, walked in to this first subway ive gone to in Monterey and I have to say the ladies are the rudest people ever.. none of them once has ever given a quick smile just looks like they dont want to be there. Ive worked in customer service for years and this right here is a great example of BAD customer service.

I was in town for work and wanted a sandwich for lunch.Went in and had the pleasure of being served by Nercida.She greeted me with a smile and made sure my order was correct.Kuddo's to the owner for hiring and having such a great employee.Will be back when I'm in town.
