El Parián de Tlaquepaque is a vibrant plaza in the heart of Tlaquepaque, surrounded by charming arcades and terraces where you can find some of the best restaurants and bars in the area. It's a great place to savor traditional grilled meat dishes, churros, and other local delicacies while enjoying live mariachi performances.
Excellent for a full day experience. Live music mariachi , norteño , dance shows lots of food and small shops around the streets.
Jesus V — Google review
The place is beautiful with great atmosphere but the food is not good and the service was not good either. It took over an hour to get our food. The baked potato tasted bad. The pina colada, coke, and lemonade also tasted bad. I ordered the arrachera marinada and it was gross. They don’t accept cards just cash.
Jacqueline A — Google review
If you're coming here, I suggest going for the drinks and the atmosphere. Maybe it was the food we chose, but it wasn't our favorite. It felt like none of it was seasoned, and cold. I promise it looks better than what it actually tasted. We would have told the server that the burner under our food was out but we never got checked on again until paying the check. I understand because they were very busy. But still didn't feel personable. The live music was incredible. The singers and dancers were amazing.
Ezzy S — Google review
It was my first time and what an awesome experience. The Tequila Cazuelas...just exquisite! A must! The main dish was Chiles Nogada. Not the best ever, El Cardenal, in México City the best, but was good! Top notch service and real good food.
José J — Google review
Great place where you can spend a delicious time with family and friends, enjoying the 'Cazuelas', listening to Mariachi and vibrating with the colours and atmosphere.
Tomas L — Google review
My wife ordered the number 2 combination and I ordered the torta ahogada which was fantastic. When we first were seated the server brought Chips and salsa as well as pico and veggies (carrots, jicama, potato and garlic) all of which were excellent! The atmosphere was very relaxing and the restaurant was very clean!
Robert — Google review
Visited this restaurant on Friday, 08/08, and it was a complete scam. If I could give it no stars I would. They told me to sit by the mariachi there was a two-drink minimum (for two people) — which sounded fine. They never said bottles, they said individual drinks. I confirmed with the server before sitting. Suddenly, they brought 8 shots to the table without asking, and then they tell us there’s another 8 coming?! charged us $2,000 pesos! No way of sending them back either. When I questioned it, they didn’t care and refused to fix the bill. I got scammed and will never be back. They take advantage of customers. Be very careful.ended up paying $4,000 pesos, a huge bill I did not expect. Writing this review to save this from happening to more people. The mariachi was the only good thing about this place. Food took about two hours to be served.
MARIA A — Google review
Atmosphere was nice. Camarones a la diabla tasted and look like american BBQ sauce. Food was very flavorless and staff ignored you once they seated you. They are happy getting people in but after that they don't care about you or your experience and it was costly for crappy service and food. Go elsewhere.

The restaurant's specialty, Tortas Ahogadas, comes highly recommended by locals and visitors alike. The food was good the platter I got was good and the meat was a little dry. I did get a margarita there and it was one of the best margaritas I've ever had. The atmosphere is very fun lots of mariachi bands people celebrating singing it's a very fun environment and very festive.

Traditional Mexican food served in a giant outdoor patio. My tortillas soup was good and my Mayan style Salmon was fine. I felt like both dishes could have used more seasoning.
Steven W — Google review
We stopped by a couple of months ago based on a suggestion from a tour guide and it did not disappoint. Service for 4 people was quick for a busy weekend and the atmosphere was comfortable. Our server was attentive and got our order right away. Overall, a good choice around the area.
Mel Z — Google review
Hacienda type of place with a fountain in the middle, they have mariachi and dancing sometimes, the music can get really loud. The food is really bad except the appetizers, the cantaritos are worth trying. The service is slow and low quality meat. The place may be cool but that’s it, there are for sure better options in Tlaquepaque. They have parking on the back but gets full really fast, parking on the street is difficult.
AO D — Google review
The food was amazing... Not a bad dish in sight... And do not be afraid of the pickled carrots because those are delicious too... 10/10, would recommend...

This place is beautiful I loved the aesthetic here! The service was great but the food lacked bit of flavor, but you get a lot of food for your buck!

Quite a pintoresque please to visit. The mixture of smells, colors and textures is amazing. The food I wonderful, delicious and extremely cheap, which is surprising and refreshing. It's a very lively place to visit and quite an adventure. Remember to buy flowers!
Magda F — Google review
The mercado has everything imaginable. It is a wonderful place to shop, eat, or take photos. A little on the dirty side at times, but with so many people going in and out, that is to be expected. We have eaten there many times and always love walking through the different floors looking for flowers, kitchen items, and meats and produce. I recommend Mariscos Choya on the ground floor. Good seafood tacos, and great tortas ahogadas.
Kelly F — Google review
I have been going here for years now. Is a perfect place to go and buy groceries for a very good price and then enjoy the vibe of Tlaquepaque's center plaza afterwards. It has a parking lot which is very convenient because is very hard to find a spot on the street.

Taco Fish La Paz is a seafood restaurant located in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The restaurant serves tacos made with a variety of sauces and toppings to suit each individual's taste. Although not an extravagant restaurant, Taco Fish La Paz is modern with its servers taking orders on iPads. Their most popular dish is the rebozado taco fish, but other delicious tacos include tuna or swordfish taco wrapped in a soft tortilla breading.
One of my favorite shrimp taco spots in the county. Love this place I only wish they were open later and took card. Only cash, long lines go quick ! Don’t be overwhelmed
Haris K — Google review
OMG Terrible experience at this place. It's the worst experience we ever had. We will never recommend this place to any of our friends or family. The place was overcrowded and its very unorganised. When we entered the premises, there was a huge crowd, we didn't understand what's happening there. There is no sign or instructions where to order the food and the ground was yuckk with food, dirty tissues and damp floor. Most of the tables were occupied and the salad bars were stinking. We had prawn tacos and quesadillas, burritos with shrimp and among all the burritos were decent to eat while the prawn tacos were dripping with oil and the tacos were so dry. The quesadillas were awful. Dry and disgusting. The meat inside was so horrible. Not sure what quality meat they use. We felt it was very worse. One of the staff was bit friendly and helped us how to order and she also couldn't find few seats for us to sit and eat. Felt sick and nauseous after eating them. Finally, we had beautiful experience in Lapaz fish tacos at LAPAZ a week ago and that one was so amazing. We thought this restaurant would be the same and totally got deceived. I think only the same was same but everything else is nothing the same. Not sure how they have such good google reviews. That's another way we fell for it. Save your money, health and go to some other nice place
Swetha P — Google review
Super delicious fish and shrimp 🍤 tacos, ceviche, octopus and marlin tostadas. They have al kind of toppings for your tacos. There's also sodas and "aguas frescas" of all sorts. I completely recommend this places. It is always very crowded but fast to order because they are well organized.
Ivonne H — Google review
The fish was barely warm but the toppings were at least fresh. If the fish had been hot, it would have been great!
Steven W — Google review
This establishment in Guadalajara boasts a rich history. The value for the price and the portion sizes is truly commendable. I had the pleasure of savoring a fish taco, a fried shrimp taco, and an empanada filled with marlin and shrimp, all of which were delightful. The self-service counter for salad dressings and sauces is also a highlight, offering a variety of delicious options. While the ordering process might be a bit unclear, requiring payment upfront and queuing in the opposite direction, the waiters are attentive in delivering beverages. I certainly plan to return for another visit.
Rafael M — Google review
✨️✨️✨️wow✨️✨️✨️ What can I say? It's THE fish taco place. We ordered 2 tacos each and it's HUGE so almost couldn't finish them haha. All locals already know here. Check it out!

The food taste great. The staff is well organized. Its a very popular place to eat for locals and tourist but it can get very crowded and if you decide to go during or close to rush hour you might find your self waiting in line (a long line) for a table.

Bruna is a chic restaurant that offers a diverse menu of regional seafood, meat dishes, and desserts. Chef Oscar Garza's menu includes soups, pastas, seafood, meats, poultry, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. The culinary concept combines Mexican essence with international elements and innovative preparation methods for an outstanding dining experience. The menu is regularly updated to feature seasonal ingredients.
Fine Mexican cuisine with an art deco meets Michelin star quality service. This is truly a Mexican dining experience you do not want to miss in Guadalajara. The service is impressively impeccable the servers are knowledgeable on every cocktail and dish . Nothing is set on the table with out some form of presentation and which compliments the curiosity of this establishment. The Rib eye chicharrones were my favorite & the suckling pig Wellington was very tender with the right amount of flaky pastry to give it contrast to the sweet moles it was paired with. Highly recommend for adults not necessarily kid friendly.
Aisha G — Google review
I came to Bruna with very high expectations, and they were almost met. The food looked amazing. The 10 Mile dish was incredible - really unique and full of rich flavors. It was a real highlight. The other dishes were just okay in terms of taste. They were good, but not as impressive as I expected from a top nauch restaurant.
Mark H — Google review
Incredible experience at Bruna’s. We went at 6pm and got to experience the restaurant change from day to night. The venue is beautiful and the food was delicious, but what stood out the most was the service. Our server, Alejandro, guided us through the menu options and explained things in much detail. All his recommendations were superb, we enjoyed all the food very much and the drinks further elevated our experience. After dinner, Edmundo gave us a tour of the entire place (both Bruna and Octo). He was very knowledgeable and his interaction with us was a great balance of informing us about the art, history and highlights of the restaurants, as well as interacting with us (my partner and I) and leaning about us and including that in aspects of the tour. For example I told him I am Brazilian and he pointed out the flowers in the garden that were of Brazilian origin. I don’t have to mention the incredible attention to detail that went into planning this place. Overall an amazing experience that we’ll never forget.

What an experience! We reserved space for our whole group and it was amazing! I look forward to going back! The cocktails were tasty, balanced, and noteworthy; the food was a foodie’s best dream!

It’s a wrap for our film production at this amazing restaurant! Fine Mexican cuisine meets Art Deco elegance and outstanding service. Samara, in particular, was truly impressive in her attentive and professional service. This is a Mexican dining experience you simply cannot miss in Guadalajara. The service is impeccable — servers are knowledgeable about every cocktail and dish. Nothing is placed on the table without a thoughtful presentation, adding to the charm and intrigue of this establishment. Be sure to try the traditional Jalisco Cazuelita. Highly recommended for adults — not necessarily kid-friendly.

Very good food and excellent service , the server spent time explaining the details of each food items such as the heirloom Tomatoes salad that they especially got prepared for me as I am vegan !! The drinks and the food was very good, ordered the eggplant taquitos and the hummus and cauliflower!! Beautiful preparation and full of flavors

Pig's Pearls is a trendy, industrial-chic restaurant in Guadalajara that has become a local favorite since its establishment in 2011. The restaurant prides itself on supporting the community and sourcing ingredients from local producers. Their menu features an array of gourmet burgers, including options like portabella mushroom and maple syrup burgers, as well as kebabs for those who prefer alternatives to burgers.
Amazing burger joint that must check out in colonia americana. The ambiance of the place is great and the have a number of craft/local beers to choose from. The service was quick and the server provided me with a number of recommendations. I ordered the chimichurri burger with a lemonade to drink. The burger was incredible, one of the best burgers I have ever had. Meat was tender and very flavorful and the buns are made fresh in house. Was pleasantly surprise with Argentinian twist to burger. Fries were excellent and very flavorful. For burger/drink I paid around 280 pesos so around ($14 usd). 10/10 highly recommend coming to check out pigs pearls.

Went there with couple of friends on Saturday evening. The ambience was good and I really enjoyed the music at this place. I ordered Chicken burger which was ok ok type. The fries I got with my burger was soggy. We also tried their all the deserts in the menu. Guava pie was really nice, cheesecake was good too and I didn’t like the brownie. The service was fast. The staff was friendly.

To list down best burgers in this city, it is not so match my imagination. Maple burger is too greasy for me, I prefer something light vegetables add inside to balance . The French fried is a little bit dry. Total service is good and friendly.

I came back after years, remembering what a great burger it was. The server was great. Sadly, however, what I got was incredibly saltly, completely losing the maple taste. It was also extremely overcooked.

Amazing burgers! Probably the best you'll taste in Guadalajara. The buns are soft and delicious, the meat is ultra-tasty, the toppings are really well paired altogether in a fantastic combination of flavours. Kamilos 333 is a festive restaurant located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The rustic dining room features vaulted ceilings, archways, and hunting decor, creating a unique atmosphere. Specializing in hearty local meals, the restaurant is renowned for its signature dish - carne en su jugo (meat in its juice), a traditional delicacy from northern Jalisco. This dish consists of tender beef strips cooked in a flavorful broth of tomato, chili, and cilantro.
One of the must-see spots in Guadalajara! The portions are generous, and the flavors are unforgettable. They welcome you with a complimentary frijolitos soup served with crispy tortilla strips. I ordered their emblematic dish, carnes en su jugo—absolutely delicious. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to discover the true taste of Guadalajara.
Rafael M — Google review
This is THE spot for carne en su jugo! Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. As soon as you sit down, you're brought a delicious cup of bean soup with bacon, chips, guacamole and salsa. The small size of carne en su jugo is anything but small, and it pairs so well with the roasted spring onions and salsa. Grab a hot and fresh tortilla and add the ingredients you want and enjoy! On our visit, there was a family celebrating their mom's birthday, and the staff brought out a big fake cake with sparklers--such a fun vibe. It was raining hard when we were there and the lights went out at one point, and the whole restaurant erupted with laughter. Great experience from start to finish.
Josh M — Google review
If you're looking for a taste of authentic Guadalajara, you can't do better than Kamilos 333. This isn't just a restaurant; it's an institution, and the reason it has been a local favorite since 1975 is simple: the food is phenomenal. The undisputed star of the show is the "Carne en su Jugo," or "meat in its juice." While you might find this dish elsewhere, at Kamilos 333, it's a culinary masterpiece. The thin slices of beef, cooked in their own flavorful broth, are tender and succulent. The broth itself is a revelation—a complex blend of tomatillo, spices, and a hint of tartness that is perfectly balanced. It's served over a bed of whole beans and topped with crispy bacon, fresh cilantro, and onions. A squeeze of lime brings all the flavors together, creating a bowl of pure comfort and satisfaction. It's a dish that truly "tastes like Guadalajara." But don't stop at the main event. Kamilos 333's menu is a celebration of classic Mexican antojitos. The "Kamililla," an open-faced quesadilla with beans, meat, and salsa, is a delicious and hearty option. The arrachera, or skirt steak, is perfectly grilled and full of rich flavor. Even the simple sides, like their house-made frijoles refritos and creamy guacamole, are a testament to the kitchen's dedication to quality. To wash it all down, be sure to try one of their refreshing house-made beverages like horchata or jamaica. Every dish at Kamilos 333 is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can taste the care and tradition in every bite. It’s a place where the food tells a story of Jalisco, and it’s a story you’ll want to savor again and again.
Alex K — Google review
It was my first time trying “Carne en su jugo” and I think I came to the perfect spot, everything tasted so good and had that homemade flavor from the salsas and tortillas to tho the main dishes. The service was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely come back to eat here. Thank you Kamilos 333!
Stheffany — Google review
Nice ambiance and good food in an unpretentious, off the beaten path restaurant in Guadalajara. Apparently famed for its carne en su jugo which I tired here for the first time so it was difficult to compare it with other iterations.
Toni C — Google review
We came here after the place next door had a long line. It was good and the beans at the start were amazing. I had the quesadilla kamillia and it did not disappoint. Everyone else has carne en su jugo. They said it was on the saltier side but overall good. The service wasn’t that good either; took a while to bring the food out and they brought mine out 10 minutes before everyone’s meals.

I love the legendary place next door but I think Kamilos 333 is better overall. The quality is better and the portions are larger. This is my new place to go in Santa Tere. I will be back. So good!

French restaurant
Boulangerie Central is a charming French-style bakery and coffee shop that has evolved into a full-fledged restaurant. The menu features an array of breakfast options, including sweet dishes made with freshly baked bread and pastries, such as chocolate French toast topped with berries and house-made ice cream.
Boulangerie Central is a spot highly recommended for its culinary offerings, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Situated conveniently, this bakery exudes a warm, inviting vibe, even as you join a queue—yes, there was a small wait due to its popularity, with about five tables ahead, but it was well worth it. The food here is a true highlight, particularly the walnut bread, which was an unreal treat, easily the best I’ve ever had. Its rich flavors and perfect texture made it an instant favorite. While the service was generally efficient, there could be improvements, particularly in speeding up service and addressing the presence of flies, which detracted slightly from the experience. Despite these minor issues, I’d still highly recommend Boulangerie Central. The quality of the dishes, especially the bakery items, is outstanding. It’s a place that anyone with a love for great baked goods and delightful meals should definitely check out when in the area. Their commitment to quality and the unmistakable charm of their offerings make it a standout destination.

Cute place and good food! The French toast was especially delicious. Had a lemon pastry as well and that was very good. Reasonable prices!

Unfortunately I found this place on our last day. I would have eaten here everyday to make my way through the menu. This restaurant literally changed the way I feel about breakfast. From start to finish it was perfect. Its been 5 days and I am still talking it. Food is fresh served hot within minutes after ordering. The cost.....who cared. It's a really hiden gem. I am going back for sure. Loved, loved and loved this place.

What a lovely place! Just a block away from where we were staying too! Great latte! The wait staff were super friendly and attentive, not overbearing. I had the croque madame, and hubby had the eggs Benedict. Both were delicious! The tomatoe dude salad was great too! Very flavorful tomatoes. Brought home some croissants but have yet to eat them but can't wait!

Good service overall and the food presentation and quality is very good. We went back twice during our stay. The lattes were excellent! I enjoyed the Huevos Mornay and Claras.

I went here for breakfast and immediately ordered a latte. After a long wait we asked and they brought out our drinks. They were already cold. They offered to fix it and brought back the same drink reheated. We complained that they did not look right. They take the drinks back and try to make them look better like they were remade. After a few minutes you can see in the photo that the milk has been steamed, cooled and reheated by the large bubbles. Avoid the uncomfortable chairs and bad service. Overpriced and low quality!

Wow!!! The food is amazing and fresh. We had the omelette a su gusto and Los huevos divorciados they were phenomenal! We recently went to Mexico City and it’s been hard to find a good chocolate croissant after experiencing Rosetta Panadería but this place is very close to perfecting it!!! Amazing, we also had a great cup of coffee and green juice. The atmosphere is peaceful they have music at a decent volume in which you can enjoy your company.

Cafeteria
Café palReal is a laid-back restaurant located in the trendy Colonia Americana neighborhood of Guadalajara. It offers classic daytime dishes and cocktails, with outdoor seating surrounded by hip cement tile work and lush greenery. The cozy coffee bar area provides a perfect spot to enjoy sweet farm cheese on biscuits and perfect cappuccinos while chatting with the friendly baristas.
Great interiors and delicious brunch. It was blue corn tortillas paired with the chorizo platter. Beautiful yard in the back. We were curious about a chili ingredient and because of limited Spanish, we were googling back and forth on translation. The waiter is so kind and brought back phone to Google up the picture of the chili pepper to show us. So warm and patient!

Food was decent, the service was OK, the atmosphere is very nice. I ordered a Lonche de pancita (pork belly sandwich) and got a sandwich that, in my opinion, was pork leg. I didn't want to wait to wait to discuss and maybe get a replacement sandwich, so I just went ahead and ate it. It was OK, but with the Pajarito (bottled) salsa added, the flavor improved. Their cappuccino is very delicious. The atmosphere is nice. I sat at the bar, the service was mixed, with some servers being very attentive, while my server was just OK at best. I will come back to try other items in the menu, and will seat in their patio next time.

Delicious and absolutely would go back! The iced latte was great, and they made a flat white cold for my friend as well. The waiters were very helpful and suggested good plates based on my allergies. I got 2 different vegetarian tacos, which came on blue corn tortillas, and they were SO tasty. Very different flavors between the two - which was wonderful. Their hot sauce was worth a try as well, such a nice kick! This adorable cafe has multiple levels and spaces to sit, so you could have a favorite spot or a different one each time. The atmosphere is lovely at lunch time - very chill and open.

Pal Real is one of my favorite places in Guadalajara, Mexico! Conveniently located in Arcos Vallarta, all the food is freshly made, and the cocktails are truly craft! These pics are just a few of my favorite things, because everything is delicious. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the music and general atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. You will not regret making Pal Real a spot to visit when you’re in Guadalajara!
Holly A — Google review
My visit to Cafe Palreal in Guadalajara left much to be desired. The food, unfortunately, fell below my expectations, with offerings that were decidedly below average in taste and presentation. It seemed like a missed opportunity for a culinary delight. The service, while not notably poor, failed to leave any lasting positive impressions. It was a functional experience, but nothing about it stood out as particularly special or attentive. The lack of exceptional service added to the overall mediocrity of the visit. In conclusion, Cafe Palreal might be an option if you're in need of a quick bite, but for those seeking a memorable culinary or service experience, there are likely better choices in the area. The cafe has room for improvement to truly stand out in the competitive food scene of Guadalajara.

Poor customer service they only had 4 tables , a lot of staff. It took them 15min to notice we were waiting to place our order. Drink we're late. Waitress awful service and they guy with glasses and tattoos was in another world in his mind. Definitely this place is not worded for me. I believe the torts ahogadas right in front gives you a better service than this piece of crappie place.

Excellent place for coffee and breakfast. I love their versions of classic breakfasts, and the fact that they don't give you huge portions. I had two breakfasts there with coffee, perfect way to start the day.

The best coffee shop i’ve tried in Guadalajara. Great food and good coffee bean variety. The filtered drinks were really nice on the mouth. The milk based drinks were a little taim on the flavor, not enough punch on the taste but good and enjoyable. I’ll go back for sure.

Restaurant
Romea is a bistro located in the Americana neighborhood, offering a diverse experience beyond just being a tapas bar. The menu includes rich and hearty breakfast options such as the exotic shakshuka from North Africa with feta cheese, poached egg, and spices. For tapas, they serve options like tomata with serrano ham or strawberry with caramelized onion.
I absolutely love this place. I live in Los Angeles where we have have some of the best variety of food and this place certainly reminded me of back home in LA. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The arugala was fresh. This place is small which I love! I feel like it makes the service more personal. The workers are very kind. And everything is made in a small kitchen that is perfectly placed right in the dining area. Haven't tried the wine or even gone for dinner but I definitely plan on coming back.

Coffee is really nice, it is pet friendly. And you can choose to go in the morning afternoon or evening but it's always a good choice to grab a cup of coffee!
Karina P — Google review
Good option for a wine bar, they sell cocktails and beer as well. Small menu but well executed, big enough variety on wine by the glass although there’s no menu but blackboards on the wall, the staff would explain the options if asked. The place has a good ambience and music, is clean and normal to low noise level. They offer breakfast on the weekends and you can sit by the bar if needed. Zero parking and no valet so be prepared to drive around at least for 10min to find a spot.
AO D — Google review
I was not a fan. Prices were approaching California level, certainly for wine, and what you get is a measured out 100, or 200 ml of juice. The food is Italian, which is blah, but people in Mexico seem to think it's the bees knees. Service was on the slow side though not bad. Place is pretty dark at night, super mood lighting.

The best breakfast we had. We had a large group and they fit us in right away and treated us wonderfully. The food and coffee was amazing and the service was top notch. Highly recommend!

I went there last Friday night with my boyfriend and can’t complain about the drinks and food, they were okay. Though portions are hilariously small. Kind of fancy-sized portions. The place and menu have a Madrid bar feel. What I didn’t like was the service. The staff’s attitude was unfriendly and not welcoming, we ordered extra bread that wasn’t delivered and when we asked to have our bill split the waiter said we had to give her the exact amount ourselves (maybe this bar should consider giving their staff a calculator as a work tool), and, well, as I just said: atmosphere unfriendly and not welcoming. I am going to give it a try to this place one more time, since it is one block away from my boyfriend’s house and hopefully next time I will have the chance to transmit to staff how I’d like to be treated since I am a good customer and I am just trying to relax and have a good time at the bar a Friday night!

Horrible place and staff. Stopped by for a glass of wine and a bite to eat on a beautiful sunny fall afternoon. They had about 20 tables open tables perhaps more. Most with nice outside views. We sat down at one, we were then told it was reserved, walked towards another with nice views and one of the waiters actually put a reserved sign on the table as we were trying to move to it. We were then told everything was reserved so they stuck us at the worse table they have with an inward wall view next to the wait station. Checked OpenTable and they are wide open all evening so it was obviously a lie. I wouldn’t come back here simply because there are so many other choices in the area with staff that doesn’t lie at restaurants that don’t pretend to have reserved tables that are in fact empty so that they (the staff and restaurant) can feel important. Go elsewhere…

Staffs are nice. I took 3 cheese sandwich and my friend took beef something sandwich. I recommend you order beef sth. Because what I ordered doesn’t give vegetable. The thing is coffee is pretty nice. And they have menu for breakfast and it looks good as well. Price is not cheap.

El Pilón de Los Arrieros is a vibrant restaurant located next to Birrieria de la 9 Esquinas. The food is excellent, and the portions are generous. Visitors can savor fresh handmade tortillas, birria, and Sangria while being entertained by live music.
A true delight, very good food, beautiful Mexican decor, good service. Had the grilled chicken which included Mexican rice, potato wedges, mixed vegetables, and tortillas. All the food was fresh, well prepared, and delicious.

It’s such a beautiful space, they did a great job! We sat at the back garden and had few very good margaritas and few entrees. Food was excellent, especially enchiladas mole which I liked the most. We really enjoyed it! Also, our waiter Ricardo did a great job!

Definitely one of the best experiences in dining. The place has atmosphere and a welcoming staff and as a foreigner with very limited Spanish there were bilingual staff that made it much easier for my shortcomings. As of course the food was fantastic! I got the charcoal grilled beef and it was perfect, exactly what I was craving.

AMAZING food and atmosphere!!!! An absolute must visit on your trip to Guadalajara. Staff was so kind and welcoming!! Loved the mole!
Emily R — Google review
El Pilón de Los Arrieros delivered a genuinely enjoyable dining experience. We ordered five different entrées, and each one was packed with flavor—well-cooked, beautifully plated, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The beverages were also top-notch and paired perfectly with the meal. That said, a few things kept it from being a full 5-star experience. Some of the portioning felt a bit off—especially the sides like the beans, which were noticeably small given the price point. It didn’t ruin the meal by any means, but it was something we noticed. Overall, we still had a great time. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was solid, and the food quality speaks for itself. A bit pricey, yes—but worth visiting if you’re looking to enjoy a flavorful, well-prepared meal in a cozy setting.

The location we visited it’s really big, it’s close to Tlaquepaque forum area, south east of guadalajara. We were greeted with beans and chips straight to our table as we seat, and immediately offered a ready to eat guacamole. A second waiter had a display tray of some of their most popular drinks ready for us to choose. A 3rd waiter was ready to take our order. My family took of to wash their hands after ordering and they have not made it to the restroom yet when the food already arrived to our table, super fast service!!! It was really good, we ordered 2 big carnes en su jugo, the guacamole was already on the table, and we ordered cheese with mushrooms. For drinks a cantarito With Tequila, a lemonade, a Lechugilla drink and a coffee. The waiters were very prompt to any request, and bring cebollitas asadas with chips, it’s was delicious. For the bill, it was a bit higher than I expected but I understand it’s a restaurant that specializes in carnes en su jugo, quality and super fast friendly service. Andrea A — Google review
I love ice cream; I am someone who regularly walks an hour to find the best ice cream in a new city (and I travel a lot). Sadly, I found the ice cream here to be very bad. First of all, it's not ice >cream<. It's ice, not creamy at all, and generally lacking in flavour - even when unfrozen to be more liquid, it's just ice water with a hint of flavour. The flavours I chose did not at all resemble what they should be. The kitkat tasted like coffee (if anytjing at all - and this was the staff's recommendation), the magnum tasted like nothing, was white, and had a huge pecan nut inside (the traditional magnum is brown, and if there should be any nuts, they should be almonds), and the tres leches also tasted like nothing. Frankly, I do not believe I was given the flavours I ordered, but I went back to ask and the lady confirmed I received what I ordered. My girlfriend ordered an oreo flavour, which at least resembled the oreo flavour, but was still bad because it was ice, not ice cream. These orders get served in a flexible cup. Flexible, as in, when you hold it in your hand, you inadvertedly squeeze it ever so slightly and push out the ice. Which means that, especially on a hot day (and this is Guadalajara...), it will leak. This also means that you need to eat with a spoon; you can't lick all the ice out of the cup. Eating ice cream with a spoon inherently tastes worse than licking ice cream with your tongue. You are not allowed to go inside the venue, and so there is no seating space besides the small stone not-benches placed by the road. One of the staff members continuously walks the street to offer people small ice creams, which seems a bit odd? The staff in general is very friendly though. All in all this seems like a tourist trap for Instagram, given that the dozens of flavours they offer are apparently this terrible.

Really recommend the lyn mei taco I am pointing at the menu. Also the cochinita taco. Ask for one first since they are really stuffed full. Tacos, beer, chejuino, great music with a bit of a wait, but overall a cool experience! The wait on a Saturday afternoon was about 20 minutes, and we were first taken to a stand-up area to start with drinks, then later brought to a table on the top floor (though I nearly fell on one of the steps—just a warning). I began with a cocktail before transitioning to trying a chejuino (tejuino mixed with beer), which was quite refreshing (8.5/10). I ordered two tacos: the taco Lyn Mei (the house recommendation) and a taco de cochinita. The Lyn Mei taco had a Thai twist featuring pork belly with sweeter “Asian” sauces on a flour tortilla—it was exquisite and my overall favorite (9/10)! The cochinita taco was just alright, though a bit drier than a typical cochinita pibil taco (6/10). Service throughout our visit was great, and we were checked on frequently, though things slowed down a bit when we were ready to pay. The music and atmosphere were also highlights—it’s a perfect spot for a Saturday afternoon (the queue outside clearly reflects this place’s popularity). I’d recommend reserving ahead (or coming with a bit of extra time), but it’s well worth the wait for great drinks, tasty tacos, and a 10/10 atmosphere.

Returning here later in the afternoon at sunset it was busy, with live band, and amazing atmosphere, 100% recommend anytime of open for an amazing time.

🎶 Guadalajara, Guadalajaraaa… hueles a pura tierra mojada 🎶 — but this time, you smell like great tequila and mouth-watering tortas ahogadas (don’t say we didn’t warn you about the salsa🔥)! Behind the iconic ‘GUADALAJARA, GUADALAJARA’ sign in Plaza Liberación, there’s a little gem waiting to welcome you: Cantina La Fuente. 🌵🍽️🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽 We indulged in tacos dorados and some of the best tequila in town. With live sax and piano setting the perfect mood every day and mariachi on Fridays, it’s a vibe made for over-30’s looking to chill, chat, and soak up that old-school cantina charm. 🥂🎷🎹 Plus, the staff? Young, friendly, and ready to make sure you’re having a great time. Five stars, easily! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 If you’re in the centre of the city, don’t miss this spot! Whether you’re a local or a tourist, it’s the kind of place that makes you sing ‘Guadalajaraaa…’ a little louder with every drink. 🥳💃 👊🏼⭐️💙 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽

This place is a must visit, people from all over this world come to visit this old bar. We have met some kind and humble people from across the world here. The live music and ambience here is definitely a spot that will make you drink!! Be prepared to do so, you either will purchase drinks, be bought drinks, or will be offered someone’s drinks. Between the live music that plays and the mariachi that arrives around 11pm this place will have you being Mexican in no time. Highly recommended.

Great local place!! Heard the music as I was walking by the other day and thought this would be a great place to go to. By chance, a friend recommended to meet there the very next day...coincidence?? The food menu is limited but it's not a dinner restaurant, it's a bar first and foremost. A bar with a great vibe and local folks who love to sing along with the performers. Highly suggest meeting up with some friends here....grab a table...a drink...order a snack and enjoy the lively atmosphere

Lovely place, you can feel the sixties, ambience top, old cantine, very authentic place, great architecture! I will come again!
Hannes K — Google review
The oldest bar in Guadalajara... For that alone it's worth a visit. With that said, the place is cavernous, loud, impersonal, and when "that old piano" starts playing, you can't hear yourself think. Service is rushed and indifferent, and overall I can immediately think of a dozen places I'd rather go have a beer at in Guad... not least because all that's available here is bottled, mass produced toot. Pro-Tip: Come here and have one beer, to say you've done it. Then go and find one of the many great bars in the city center.

Mercado Santa Tere is a bustling market located in the Santa Tere neighborhood of Guadalajara, Mexico. It offers a lively atmosphere with vendors selling a variety of fruits, vegetables, and traditional Mexican food. One popular stall at the market is Fonda La Mariquita, known for its deep-fried quesadillas with chicken and mushroom, as well as refreshing agua de Jamaica.
This is a great market. It is small and clean with many home made items from fresh cheese to pickled veggies. We ate breakfast at Cafe Elena in the north of the market and it was amazing. One of the best meals we had in the city. The women were very friendly and patient with our broken Spanish.

Real San Pedro is a charming restaurant located in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, offering a mix of traditional Mexican delicacies and high-end cuisine. The old-world locale boasts artistic decor and serves breakfast as well as a popular buffet featuring various Mexican dishes. In addition to the buffet, the restaurant also offers a selection of elegant Mexican dishes such as alligator, wild boar, and goat meat. The ambiance is elegant with stone accents and abundant greenery throughout the space.
Real San Pedro is an excellent restaurant situated right on the main street in Tlaquepaque. I tried the octopus, and it was absolutely outstanding—easily one of the best-prepared octopus dishes I’ve ever had. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive, and I loved the ambiance, complete with a local band playing and the charming Spanish colonial setting.

Delicious food, drinks, and live music. Loved the atmosphere sitting in the garden with music and a beautiful water fountain. I had a passion fruit Margherita with local tequila which was so good. My Chile en nogada was delicious. My husband had lamb chops and azteca soup which I tried and also so good. Highly recommend

Beautiful place. The setting is lovely and full of artwork and architecture. The server was very nice and welcoming. It's a buffet, the food was delicious and many options. The prices are moderate per person. We paid approx. 850 pesos for two, which is on the high end. All in all I do recommend this culinary experience

Just a pretty place with live music, the food is bad and prepared with low quality ingredients. The dishes arrived cold, the meat wasn’t tender but overcooked, the duck was very poorly executed and the waiter was very forgetful and took a long time to bring what we asked for, and it wasn’t even crowded. Asked for a bottle of wine and wasn’t stored at the right temperature (really warm) and asked for a bucket of ice which took over 20 min to arrive. The place was full of mosquitoes and they didn’t have any candles or liquid to make them go away. Overall not a pleasant experience.

Mexican restaurant
La Tequila Cocina de México Av México offers a unique experience for those interested in learning about Mexico's iconic tequila. The restaurant aims to showcase the beloved staples of Guadalajara - tequila, mariachi music, and la charreria. La charreria is a traditional rodeo-like event where participants wear decorative charro clothing and compete in various events.
My favorite restaurant in Guadalajara. The food here is exceptional from the appetizers to the dessert. They even grow a lot of their own vegetables and herbs. The ambiance is cheerful yet relaxing. It is a great place to hang out with friends, yet it does not get too loud that you can't enjoy a nice conversation. The food and ambiance are not the only thing special about La Tequila. The staff there make you feel special by the service they provide. They are attentive and ready to serve with a smile. The managers Adrian and Eric take the time to ensure your visit was enjoyable. It was great meeting Adrian and listening to his passion for cooking and the details he added to make your dining experience special. They also have wait staff like Bruno who is quick with a warm greeting and a dedication to service rarely seen. On top of all this the complimentary food items are fantastic. When I am in Guadalajara this is a must place to go for me.

We went here with friends while in town. The atmosphere is lovely--open air, which is not easy to find this time of year in the northern US (early to mid October). The service was incredible. The food was fantastic, and the mango margarita--wow! I drink very little and it left even me wanting another! FYI--Speaking to a different native Mexican, his opinion was that yes, the food here is good, but it's not "real Mexican cuisine." On our trip through small towns from Guadalajara to Ajajic, the gentleman explained that this is where you get "real," delicious Mexican cuisine.
Lori H — Google review
One of my favorite restaurants in Guadalajara for traditional Mexican cuisine. This place is slightly elevated, with amazing service and they make and serve a lot of the tacos and salsas right next to your table. They have my group English menus and we had no issues communicating with the servers! I love the molcajetes and the steaks - so delicious! The molcajete they’ll make it into tacos for your table. As for the steak, they finish cooking it on a hot grill next to your table as well. The tequila selection here is amazing (as expected). They have tequila tasting flights and will push a tequila cart right next to your table and give excellent recommendations.

Although we were worried this was a tourist trap, everything here was amazing!! It was so good that we went back twice. Valentin was our waiter the first night, and he was fantastic. The drinks, the food, the service were incredible. (I especially recommend the maracuyá margarita, cantarito, chile relleno norteño, and brisket tacos!! Oh, and the flan!! Honestly though you can’t go wrong with anything you choose here!!) All top-notch! We didn’t have a single bad dish or experience. Definitely recommend La Tequila! And given the quality of the food and service, the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely visit again our next time in Guadalajara!! Thank you, La Tequila!!!

Tacos de Barbacoa Arturo is a popular spot in Guadalajara known for serving some of the best barbacoa tacos in town. This neighborhood gem is usually crowded, but the wait is worth it. The barbacoa, a slow-cooked dish of whole lamb or goat, is a must-try and is served with delicious salsas and grilled cebollitas. The bean and cheese tacos are also highly recommended.
Delicious food, proper local spot! Had the taco barbacoa con queso and the taco frijoles con queso, both were delicious. I feel like this place hasn’t changed in 40 years, the interior has real character. The people were kind and helpful despite mi muy malo espanol. Good prices and tasty food, definitely visit if you’re in the area.

Guadalajara Eats 2024 #9, Taco #24, Barbacoa #2: The tacos are good, but it is so unbearably hot in here. Heat aside, I prefer Tacos Juan in Santa Teresita. Service is friendly and attentive, but again, it's too hot here. I also don't personally care for either of their salsas. Although their grilled cebollitas are tasty! Would return if I'm in the area. Otherwise would prefer to walk/eat at Tacos Juan.

(Translated by Google) It's really not worth it! Here the "give yourself fame and go to sleep" applies. $140 for a dish of Menudo poorly served, the waiter seemed to throw things at us. The diner next to me had to stop for tortillas because she asked for them from 2 different people and no one took them. The truth is overrated! We went on the recommendation of a tenant since we were looking for Menudo. In the photo I only had 2 tablespoons of broth but that's what they served for $140. I definitely won't go back. Definitivamente yo no vuelvo.

(Translated by Google) This Sunday I visited the Mercado de Abastos without knowing where to eat and I let myself be guided by the crowd. Seeing how busy Menudería Chela was, I knew I had to try it… And what a great decision! It was my first time trying Menudo in Mexico, and the experience was incredible. The broth was full of flavor, with a perfect texture and no unpleasant odors. The belly and other entrails were super soft, well cooked and of excellent quality. To accompany it, I ordered a refreshing and delicious pineapple water. The service was impeccable, the waiters were attentive at all times and the man who served the broth was very friendly, he even offered me more. If you run out of tortillas, they will bring you more without a problem. In addition, a local customer taught me the technique to chop the chili with oregano on a napkin to avoid getting too enchilated, a detail that made the experience even more special. 🔹 The best: ✅ Menudo with authentic flavor and great quality. ✅ Friendly and attentive service. ✅ Traditional and busy atmosphere, guarantee of good food. Menudería Chela is definitely a must-see in Guadalajara. If you come to town, you have to try it. I will definitely return!

(Translated by Google) A typical place in Guadalajara to eat the best enfrijoladas in the region, if you don't mind eating among a wide variety of aromas, this is because the fonda is located in the market, next to butcher shops, fruit shops, candy shops, cheese shops, etc. Apart from the Menudo, I recommend ordering the natural enfrijolada, and if you're hungry, order it with meat, and of course you have to add cheese and cream. The problem is parking, but they have one next to the multi-story market with rates of up to 20 pesos per hour, the enfrijolada are cheap and very popular. Wow impressed by their tostadas and the fact that it’s a sea food place which opens late at night is also a great plus! We had a pleasant first time experience there, the service is very friendly and fast. Hope that they keep the bar and the quality remains as high as it is right now.

When to have dinner with my friend after pride . Prices are pretty expensive for what you get. It’s actually kind of insane how little amount of food you get for what you pay. Service was alright we sat outside and it was much cooler(weather wise )than inside . I got the tuna tostada and honestly it was too citrusy and spicy . I usually to pretty well with spice so I was caught off guard . Also I ordered a mojito it was a solid 2/10 tasted like water with herbs . The place is nice and the bathrooms are clean but those prices are not justified at all. Also it’s not wheelchair accessible .

Food is good but the menu has limited options you will run through the menu in a couple of visits. It can be a great place for a beer and fish tacos. IT IS NOT a dining place. Service falls a bit short specially if you ask to have ingredients take out of your order. If you are looking for ceviche or aguachile you can go across the street.

The friendly couple who runs the stand provides great service, making it a perfect place to grab a bite after a night out or for a satisfying breakfast.
I had never had a torta ahogada and I didn’t wanna leave GDL without one - this was the spot with the best reviews by our hotel so we decided to check it out. And boy, it did not disappoint! The sauce and meat were delicious and the bread had the perfect amount of crunch. My mom had previously had tortas ahogadas in the states before and said she didn’t want one because she didn’t like them. But then I gave her a bite of mine and she had to order her own. Nestled just a short stroll from the hotel and mere blocks away from the vibrant Tlaquepaque Centro, Gordelicias - Boulevard is a delightful culinary gem that you simply can't miss. This charming eatery caught my attention while I was on the hunt for a quick snack, and I ended up indulging in six different fillings—each one more delicious than the last!
This place is just down the road from my hotel and only a couple of blocks from the Tlaquepeque Centro and shopping district. I stumbled upon Gordelicias looking for a snack and by the time I left I sampled six different fillings. Each one was scrumptious and around 20 pesos for a single. They have a takeout special 6 for 90 pesos. Under $5 USD. I was so stuffed I could hardly move afterwards. Lots of delicious desserts, Agua frescas and beer. They also offer any filling in a flour tortilla burrito. I would never miss this place when in Tlaquepeque.

Reasonable pricing, a menu that has a lot of options, and as someone who has eaten there at least twice a month for the last 2 and half years, with all options being rich in flavor. The only thing they don't get a 5 star review is because they don't have dessert options or at least milkshake options which would bring them to a 5 stars place.
