Japanese curry restaurant
Bar
Curry Yakumido, located in Osaka, is a popular restaurant known for serving exceptional curry dishes. The restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with fresh and well-balanced ingredients that create spectacular flavors and aromas. It has gained recognition for its high-quality curry meals, making it a must-visit spot for curry enthusiasts in the city.
I am writing a late review from my visit in March, but I want to share my experience at this fantastic place I discovered while heading back to where we were staying. It definitely did not disappoint. The owner was a wonderful person; I couldn’t speak any Japanese, but his English was superb. We had a great conversation about Australia, and it made the food taste even better. He also provided plenty of suggestions for viewing cherry blossoms, including some lesser-known spots where I could avoid large crowds of tourists. I found the curry a bit puzzling, as there wasn’t much meat in it, but I believe that’s how it’s meant to be. I have no complaints on my end—the owner has truly mastered the dish. The flavors warmed me up on a chilly winter day. I’m not sure if you remember my visit, but thank you for everything you do!
Christopher W — Google review
Curry Yakumido has such a comfortable vibe. The owner was very welcoming and personable. My husband and I got the beef and chicken curry combo and it was so incredible as our first Japanese curry. After a long day of walking and both having headaches, this was the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal and good conversation.
Amanda S — Google review
The curry was delicious, I recommend it spicy! The owner was so fun to talk to and we had great conversation. He was patient, letting us practice Japanese and sharing very interesting facts about Kyoto’s history and shrine recommendations. Highly recommend!
Yana A — Google review
We were on the hunt for some great curry and stumbled across this place, and it checked every box! The place is cozy, enough seating for about 5 people at a time. The owner and his friend were such gems, we chatted for awhile during our meal! The curry is a great portion with deep and rich flavours. Couldn’t recommend enough!!
Dia J — Google review
We were a group of 5 and we were lucky enough to get straight in with no wait. My partner is celiac (gluten free) and the chicken curry was available as a gluten free option, which was fantastic! The food was some of the best I have experienced! The experience was fantastic, great chat, cold drinks, and fantastic food. Only 3 choices in the menu, so guaranteed not to be disappointed. Thank you for your hospitality!

YAKUMIDO CURRY&RICE – Highly Recommended! We stopped by this restaurant during our stay in Osaka, and it was a total win! The curry was simply delicious – aromatic, full of flavor, with the perfect balance of spices and fresh ingredients. Portions are ok, and the prices are super reasonable. But what truly won us over was the heart of the owner. We had a little mishap: we'd booked a hotel with no reception, and they forgot to send us the door code, ignoring all our messages. The owner of YAKUMIDO not only helped us get in touch with the hotel but also sorted it out so we could finally get the code and access our room. That kind of help goes way beyond standard service – we felt truly taken care of. We'll be back for sure!
Korneliusz O — Google review
Small little slice of heaven in the area, the owner is awesome with better english than me!! His restaurant is awesome and the dishes he serves have been perfected over the years. Definitely a master of his craft! One of those restaurants you don’t only go to once❤️ Our favourite food in osaka, potentially japan and so affordable!

Okonomiyaki restaurant
Restaurant
Okonomiyaki Chitose is a bustling eatery famous for its traditional Japanese pancakes, made with a mix of meat, noodles, and cabbage. Located on the first floor of Namba Grand Kagetsu, also known as the Comedy Hall of Fame, this restaurant is an annex of the renowned Niku-sui establishment. One popular dish at Okonomiyaki Chitose is the Niku-sui, which features meat udon noodles with an added semi-boiled egg.
ordered their squid and pork mix, seafood mix. okonomiyaki was nicely charred with crispy edges with no bitter burnt parts. seafood were large and fresh, well cooked too. we added noodles to make the meal more filling. portions were large and well worth the price paid. the other reviews weren't kidding about the queues, we waited for an hour or so. but once you tasted the food, it'll all make sense. will make a planned stop for future travels.
Marcus A — Google review
Visited on a Sunday for lunch. They open at 11.30 and I came at 11.20, and there was already a long queue in front of me. While we wait, the staff distributed the menu and took our order. I got in at 12.30 and my order was already served on my table. I got their most recommended menu, the pork-mix okonomiyaki. It was a little different from all the the okonomiyaki I've known before, but a pleasant surprise nonetheless. The sauce was on the sweeter side, and there were pineapple chunks in the batter that actually works together with the rest of the ingredients. I especially like the crispy, almost-burnt edges. Portion size was quite big and they were generous with the pork and seafood toppings, but I was able to finish everything. The grill aroma would linger on your hair and clothes long after the meal, so you might want to consider visiting at the end of day instead.
Janice L — Google review
The best OKONOMIYAKI I’ve ever had. It was so filling and overwhelming because the portions are huge. If you plan to come here when you are already full, you might not be able to finish everything. The place can get a bit hot because of the cooking station, but we were very happy with our experience here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Worth coming back.
Veronica B — Google review
Best Okonomiyaki my family and I have had in Japan! I got the Seafood with Fried Noodles, my brother and my dad got the Pork-Mix with Fried Noodles, and my mom got the Pork. They were all phenomenal. Would highly recommend if you are visiting Osaka. We got there right after they opened and a lien formed behind us. Definitely get there early. You won’t be disappointed.
Tony D — Google review
One of the MUST TRY that I forwarded to my friends. I ordered the pork mix dish and it was sooo delicious. I wasn’t even that hungry, but I finished everything! 😋 The staff here are super friendly and one of them can speak fluent English, which makes everything easy. And… okay, side note: One of the young chefs is ridiculously handsome, like, Kpop star level. (Oops, was I supposed to be only focusing on the food? 😂 PS: Seating is limited, so arrive before opening or be prepared to wait. Totally worth it though!
Demi D — Google review
Probably my favorite thing I ate on our Japan trip, and we ate a wide variety of food in Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo. I got the seafood okonomiyaki (shrimp, scallop, squid, and oyster), and it was phenomenal. My wife also loved her shrimp, squid, and pork okonomiyaki. The restaurant is small, but we didn’t have to wait in much of a line when we went at 1:30pm on a Tuesday (about ten minutes before we were invited in to eat). We sat at the counter and had the pancake right off the grill. The guy who runs the shop was very kind as well. Highly, highly recommend!
Greg M — Google review
Went there on a hot summer weekend evening expecting a queue but the queue was shorter than we anticipated (yay!) Located slightly away from the main areas like dotonbori, etc. The store itself is nothing fancy, just a down to earth little store serving up good food. If you get the counter seats you get to see the cooking live. They take your order in advance so your food gets served quickly after you’re seated. The okonomiyaki was delicious with a unique touch of pineapples - the seafood used were very fresh and sweet, cooked to perfection. We enjoyed our meal here.
Elle L — Google review
The food at this place is genuinely to DIE for Though it may be a small shop with limited seating, it punches well above its weight with a seemingly unlimited amount of deliciousness that you DEFINITELY don’t mind sitting outside in line 30-40mins for. The staff take your order in line and align it so that by the time you reach the front, your food is just about ready to be served—making it an extremely smooth experience. Focusing on the food—you get the best of both worlds: good flavor AND generous portion sizes. Not only were the meats tender and the crust of the (modanyaki, in my case) a perfect brown, you get so much of the meats and fillings that you wonder what you did to deserve such a perfect pairing. Staff were very attentive and were happy to help out with any concerns or needs customers had, that the whole experience felt like my own personal little piece of heaven tucked neatly around the corner of my hotel. Overall, this is definitely a MUST TRY spot in Osaka, and I would probably eat it daily if I could—it was THAT good.

Okonomiyaki restaurant
Namba Okonomiyaki Ajinoya Honten is a well-known restaurant in Osaka, specializing in the art of creating traditional okonomiyaki. With decades of experience and a Bib Gourmand certification, this eatery has perfected the craft of making savory Japanese pancakes. Diners can watch as their okonomiyaki is skillfully prepared on a hotplate right before their eyes, providing an authentic culinary experience.
I arrived about 10–15 minutes before opening and there were already a few groups waiting in line. The staff took our orders even before the restaurant opened, which was really efficient. Once inside, we were seated right away and the staff cooked the okonomiyaki directly at the table — no need to do it yourself. It was served piping hot straight from the grill, and the flavor was amazing! Eating it fresh and sizzling made it even better. Definitely worth the wait and a must-try if you’re in the area.
C B — Google review
If you are craving okonomiyaki and yakisoba, consider visiting this spot! The okonomiyaki and yakisoba is one of the best that I ever had. There are various options / toppings to mix and match. However, the overall taste and experience is comparable to other places I been to. Given the hype, expect a considerable waiting time of around 1 hour based on my experience. If you don't want to wait, I think there are numerous other places that would offer similar experience, so I wouldn't worry too much on missing out. The service is alright, the staff is quick and efficient in cooking / preparing your order. Not the most friendliest / warmest bunch but they get the work done.
Ryan M — Google review
Unfortunately a well known tourist attraction, therefore you’ve to expect long waiting times. Anyway the service was well organized so that they took your orders before you even got a table inside. The food was nevertheless amazingly delicious, freshly prepared right on your table. Try to avoid typical meal times to prevent too much waiting time.
Luisa O — Google review
We had our first okonomiyaki experience in Osaka here! The queue was pretty long, but we were lucky to get in quickly, just a heads-up, it can take a while. The food was really good and reasonably priced. One thing that bothered me a bit was that the person at the front didn’t speak much English and came off a bit rude. But the staff member who served our food was really friendly, which made up for it. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely worth trying if you’re in Osaka!
Selly K — Google review
The okonomiyaki was delicious, especially the scallops — fresh and flavorful. The onion beef tendon dish was a standout, very special and absolutely delicious. Personally, I found the yakisoba a little too sweet for my taste, but overall, every dish was well-prepared and tasted great.
C. O — Google review
This place is fantastic. The food is incredibly delicious, the service is fast, and the whole experience is just great. Even if there’s a line when you arrive (and there probably will be), they move people through quickly and efficiently. The quality you get for the price is downright criminal. Definitely worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed.
Anthony D — Google review
The worst part about this was the queue outside. Thank god it moved relatively fast. The okonomiyaki was perfectly cooked with a well seasoned batter and not overly sauced. The scallops with brown butter and soy sauce offered a pleasing mix of textures, with the scallops having a satisfying bite, complemented by the enoki mushrooms and the crunch of the sprouts. I got the counter seat and saw the chef in action. He's almost a one man show and I was in awe of his skills. He was already so busy handling all the different orders but still paid attention to serving me outside of what I would consider his job scope. He kindly handed me an ice cold towel when he noticed I was finishing my meal. All my stars goes to him.

Had okonomiyaki here and it was so good! We waited about 30 minutes, but honestly, totally worth it. The food was delicious and super satisfying. If I ever come back to Osaka, I’m definitely coming back here!!

Ramen restaurant
Restaurant
Kinryu Ramen Dotombori is a popular late-night spot in Osaka, with three locations in Dotonbori recognizable by the giant dragons on top. The restaurant offers a laid-back vibe and cozy seating at tatami tables where guests can enjoy their giant bowls of ramen. It's well-known for being open 24 hours, making it perfect for satisfying those nighttime ramen cravings.
This ramen joint is right smack in the middle of Dotonburi, you can't miss it, the restaurant is decorated with a huge golden dragon. The ramen was excellent, savoury broth, quality ham and eggs cooked to perfection. Also love the condiments provided, especially garlic! This place definitely exceeded all my expectations. 😋🍜 It gets quite busy here as it's just along the busy street, so be prepared to queue for a bit.
Alexander A — Google review
We were lucky and there was no line. Sometimes we walked past and there was a bit of a queue. Hard to miss ramen shop in the middle of Dotonbori. Quick, easy and simple concept. Two options available to order on the machine - regular or large (extra charsui). Was seated promptly and handed a number. Ramen was basic and toppings are DIY. Can’t expect much more for under ¥2000 for 2 people! Simple, quick and easy. A great little shop to stop by and watch the hustle and bustle of the place - even better is opened 24/7!
Thy N — Google review
We waited in line for about 20 minutes. There were only 2 choices of ramen, standard cha siu and extra cha siu. We ordered 2 standard ramen, 800 yen each. You can add kimchi, minced garlic and spicy chives. My bowl only had 2 small slices of cha siu and they were not tender. The soup and noodles were not bad. Not worth the time to line up.
Felix W — Google review
The ramen served at Kinryu was a hearty and generous bowl. Although not the best ramen I have had, I nevertheless liked it. The broth was flavoursome and the noodles had a nice bite to them. The store only seemed to sell one type of ramen with sliced pork. I also liked that there were a range of pickled vegetables that you could add to your ramen. Initially you place your order through a vending machine. You need to insert your money before selecting the meal you would like. You then receive a ticket with a number and wait to be called. On the occasion of my visit, there were only two staff members working there, cooking and cleaning. As the restaurant is located in the centre of Dotonbori, it was very busy. Staff were working very hard, were efficient and courteous.
Map R — Google review
If you've play any of the Ryu ga Gotoku/Like a Dragon games with Sotenbori in it, coming here to eat is a pilgrimage. The place is in the same corner as the in-game counterpart, and has the same menu The ramen soup has a balanced, peppery taste without being heavy, the noodles have a nice texture, and the chashu taste great without being fatty Great energy in that area. A decent choice to eat here if you want ramen that isn't too fatty 5/5 star, no drama
Pepperoni P — Google review
Kinryu Ramen is a whole experience.Seriously, it's not just food, it's a vibe. The whole thing is so fast—you get your own seat and just slurp it down, shoulder to shoulder with other ramen lovers. But here’s the real secret: the free stuff. You get unlimited crunchy kimchi and spicy chives. You can even add fresh minced garlic—and when it melts into your bowl, it’s pure magic. It elevates everything. It's not a fancy restaurant, it's just pure, unpretentious goodness. And it's open 24/7, so it's always there for you. Honestly, it’s one of the best things you'll ever eat.
Dar T — Google review
First time trying this ramen 9 years ago, today we comeback for the numerous time, the taste still amazing. The soup itself is light compared to other ramen. The plus side is free refill of kimchi and water (this is a plus during hot day). The options for menu are regular and ekstra charsiu ramen. Cost under 1000 yen for the former and just over 1000 yen for the later
Dimas S — Google review
An open-24-hour ramen spot in Dotonbori. They offer either the standard ramen or a “chashu” version with extra pork slices. The broth is a lighter take on tonkotsu (pork bone) style—creamy but not overly heavy. The noodles are straight, medium-thin, and firm. Free toppings like garlic, kimchi, and chives let you adjust the flavor to your liking 👍

Japanese restaurant
Ippudo is a renowned ramen chain with a popular branch called Ippudo Namba situated in the heart of Osaka. The restaurant specializes in Hakata-style ramen, featuring Tonkotsu broth and thin noodles originating from Fukuoka, Kyushu Region. Their menu highlights two main types of ramen: Shiromaru (white) and Akamaru (red). Despite being a chain store, it's a must-visit spot for your first meal in Osaka.
You really can’t go wrong with any ramen shop in Japan — and Ippudo is no exception. Consistently good, with rich broth and tender noodles. Their pork is flavorful and melts in your mouth. Service is fast and efficient, like most places in Japan. Always a satisfying stop if you’re craving a comforting bowl of ramen.
G A — Google review
Was here for the sake of its fame as a popular Ramen place. It really tasted better when you’re at the place of origin. The broth was super rich n tasty, the ramen was just al dente. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻There was a Q but it moves fast. U can never go wrong with an established ramen place.
Tadd W — Google review
Ramen was very good. There are 3 types: normal, slightly spicy and spicy. Tried the normal and slightly spicy type, both are good. Within the 3 types, you can order either the original (2 slices of meat), or with added egg or further addon of 5 pieces of seaweed and 2 slices of pork belly meat. Gyoza was also very nice, do try.
Alvin — Google review
Tried Ippudo for the first time. Discovered it walking past it, and I was really happy I did. I had to the Akamaru ramen (original) and my friend had the Shiromaru ramen (original). The Shiromaru broth was good, but nothing extra special. The Akamaru broth was much more flavorful, filled with garlic, black mushrooms and a little spicy paste (but was not very spicy). I would recommend the Akamaru ramen if it's your first time! The gyoza was flavorful but I'm the smaller side, so if you're really hungry, you could probably eat 4-5 on your own. Staff was very nice and polite!
Abe S — Google review
Delicious ramen with well spiced soup and perfectly cooked noodles. Excellent service. Gochisosama deshita !!
Adam D — Google review
The noodles are thin, the broth is thin, the taste is not too bad but the size is smaller than expected. The free iced tea tasted like it was infused with tobacco leaves. I had the extra toppings white ramen and gyoza. Very overrated at over 4 stars; it's not a satisfying eating experience, especially if you go in with high expectations.
Sorina R — Google review
Genuinely one of the best ramen places I've been to if you're looking for somewhere quick! The broth is so flavorful, the pork is so tender, the noodles have such a wonderful texture and they even provide options for firmness. The service is extremely welcoming and they're very observant and provide an English menu for foreigners. I received my ramen in sheer minutes, and the quality is absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend stopping here!!
May — Google review
A ramen worth making time for One of the best ramen bowls I’ve had in Osaka. Ippudo Namba may not be on every tourist’s list, but it should be — especially if you appreciate quality ramen done right. My top recommendation: try the Modern Kiwami. It’s a middle ground between the classic and spicy ramen — rich, flavorful broth without being overwhelmingly hot. It won’t burn your mouth, but it adds a unique twist that makes it stand out. Fast service, casual setting, and excellent ingredient quality make this place worth the stop.

Creo-Ru Takoyaki & Okonomiyaki is a legendary snack bar in Osaka, Japan, known for its takoyaki. This popular street food consists of bite-sized balls made from a batter mixed with octopus, ginger, and green onions. Aizuya, the vendor behind this iconic dish, claims to be its inventor and has been serving takoyaki since 1933. Despite street food not being common in Japan, Osaka is famous for this delicious snack.
i liked that it was very spacious and didn’t have a long wait. the takoyaki was crispy outside and soft inside. the sashimi was good. the okonomiyaki took about 20 minutes to arrive, other than that it was speedy. good option for if you’re in a rush and want many small bites.

You could either buy a plate of takoyaki & stand by the shop & eat it or you could also go up to level 2 to eat. On level 2 they serve full meal, alcohol & various stuff. Service is usual polite. Food comes relatively quick. Crowded & noisy, love the vibes thou. Highly recommended !

We came here to this area to experience the dazzling, over the top shopfronts and after walking around a few blocks, we got hungry. We popped in to the nearest crowded restaurant and ordered some food. There was a queue here but the eait wasn't too long. We took the times to perise the menu. There were a lot of options but when in Osaka, one has to try the okonomiyaki. We also ordered other items to share. The food arrived pretty quickly and everything was delicious. The team here is very friendly and made recommendations to us on what to order. It is quite lively here but we can still talk and enjoy our conversation and of course, the food as well.

We were intrigued by the queue outside the club. We approached and were greeted by a very kind staff man who explained to us how the place works and made us sit down. The rest was a pleasant surprise: the staff are very courteous and the products are of high quality. I highly recommend Okonomiyaki, it's really delicious. ✨️✨️

Fabulous Japanese Kansai Cuisine experience. We were an Indian family of four with teenaged kids visiting Osaka for the first time. Roaming around the crowded Dotonbori area at 8pm on a very crowded street, we were famished after a long summer hot August day in Osaka. We were welcomed by a sweet smiling usher who made us comfortable with a Namaste & promptly seated us though super crowded. The lady server patiently explained us Japanese dummies the type of food and we ordered Okonomiyaki, yakisoba seafood noodle, Takoyaki with lassi & drinks. The restaurant was extremely crowded, noisy, smelling of food, full of tourists & we loved the chaos, having visited very quiet restaurants before. Everything was served hot on the grill plate, freshly made with wonderful flavours. We thoroughly enjoyed our Kansai cuisine touristy experience.

I ate here last Feb, & I consider this to be one of my favorite Takoyaki spots because of the variety of flavors they have available. If you want Takoyaki that’s non-traditional or with cheese, this is the place for you! :)

The menu is deliberately limited, with a focus on their house specialty: the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen.
As we all know about their fame, Their food was by far the best experience in Osaka. You have to wait a line for long time but it's worth it. (plus, be aware, there are many branches around Dotonbori. So choose another branch if there's a huge line.)

Famous for good reason. You will have to queue if you go at a busy time but it's very well organised and worth the wait. Delicious ramen with lots of customisation options and a calm, quiet eating area with their famous private booths. Would return.

Got seated in just 20 minutes and finally tasted this dreamy ramen 🍥 Totally worth it — 4 stars out of 5! The matcha almond tofu was a pleasant surprise too 🍜💚🍮

No wonder locals and tourists like eating here; the taste, the unique experience and affordable price are hard to say no to. I think it's the only franchise ramen reataurant that offers one chamber dine in to its guests (that I know of) with reasonable price. The broth was rich yet light that I kept inhaling the whole thing until the last drop 🤣 What a nice experience I have in here ✨

Food was delicious, definitely worth the hyper. We lined up at about 7:30pm on a Tuesday and were sat and eating within 30 minutes!

Delicious, consistent ramen. Will be a wait unless you’re going at an odd hour. Good options for customization.

The best place to have Ramen in Osaka. Usually there is a 20-40min wait. You need to order the food in a vending machine and later the staff will get you seated at the table. The Ramen was next level, I still can’t forget the taste and experience I had in this restaurant. Ideal place for people who want little to no interaction with anyone.

This is my first time to the ‘dining without speaking’ experience. Though it may not be my cup of tea, it isn’t hard to understand why the focus on appreciating the food which the ramen master and team has spent hours in making. And the food indeed delivered. I had opted to go with their recommended mild spicy option. This added a little spicy kick to the rich broth which was full of umami and this just hit the right note. The ramen had a medium firm texture which went so well with the rich broth. I also appreciated the plentiful amount of black fungus and spring onion to accompany the ramen till the last mouthful. Yes I quietly slurped up my ramen in great appreciation 😊.

LiLo Coffee Roasters is a charming coffee bar that has been serving freshly roasted brews since 2014. Situated in the west side of Shinsaibashi, just a minute's walk from Yotsubashi station, this cozy spot offers free Wi-Fi and follows the concept of 'Life is short surround yourself with good people and only drink good coffee.'
A Hidden Gem That Turned Out to Be Famous — And Deservedly So I stumbled across this spot completely by chance, and I’m so glad I did. Later I found out it’s part of a well-known group in Osaka — they also run a popular bakery and a coffee roastery — and honestly, it all makes sense now. This place is incredible. I had what was easily one of the best burgers of my life: a juicy 200g beef patty plus a 150g steak layered right on top. It was perfection. The chef is also the owner, and he’s there every day — you can feel the pride and attention to detail in every dish and in the exceptional service. The drinks are amazing, and I’d highly recommend trying the full range of pickled vegetables and appetizers — every bite is thoughtful and packed with flavor. And definitely save room for dessert — the cream-filled donut is phenomenal, and the ice cream is just as memorable. Bonus tip: just down the street, their bakery serves incredible sandwiches, coffee and pastries. Totally worth stopping by if you’re in the area. If you’re in Osaka, this place is a must!

Had a delicious cup of Tanzania beans cappuccino on a weekday night. My coffee came in a generous size mug, a Lilo booklet and a card about the beans. I didn't get the card about who my barista is but I think they offer that too usually. Unlike the other well known espresso coffee places in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo; there is table service here. Patrons don't have to collect or put back their own cups after ordering at the cashier. Which I appreciate that, so it feels less like a "vending machine" transaction. Tanzania beans were sweet and creamy with milk choco, suitable for late night drinking, not strong at all but still filled with layers of flavours. The staffs were attentive and friendly despite them being in the middle of packing beans. The small interior vibe was very chill and cosy. Cafe was decked out in a lot of cute, colorful LCR merch, fancy vintage coffee drips. Patrons were just quietly enjoying their coffee experience here, in this lovely, more local side of Shinsaibashi. Will cherish my Tanzania beans (freshly roasted only 2 days before the day I bought it), remind myself of Osaka and that 'life is short, surround yourself with good people and only drink good coffee'. ごちそうさまでした.

Our first café visit in Osaka was Lilo Coffee Roasters, recommended by some of coffee guru. The experience exceeded expectations: the coffees were balanced and flavorful, the baristas demonstrated excellent product knowledge, and their matcha stood out as one of the best we’ve tried. We loved it so much that we brought home a bag of their beans.
Dinda P — Google review
An artisanal coffee shop in the middle of Shinsaibashi. They sell mostly coffee and coffee beans, single origin or blended with different price points. I opted for a cold brew and I had to wait just five minutes. The waitstaff are very knowledgeable about the beans, and is very friendly. They give out cards of the coffee you just spent money on as a collectible.

Nice spot for a quick caffeine fix. It’s a small, stylish café with a cool vibe and friendly staff. They roast their own beans in-house, and the Gibraltar was perfectly prepared and smooth. The matcha cookie was a great surprise—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made in-house. A solid stop for anyone who appreciates good coffee and local roasters.

Came here during the day but it was too crowded, as they have a small space for seating. Luckily they are open late so I came back to have a cup of coffee. It was a nice cup, very balanced and carefully crafted. They offer some small treats to go with your coffee too. The staff were great and very friendly. Cool spot to check out if you’re in Osaka.

Visited on a weekend afternoon and there were 8 people ahead of me in the queue. However, the queue moves fast. I ordered the green tea lattepresso (a matcha latte with an espresso shot) without any hesitation. My stomach is already drafting an HR complaint by then but as always I ignored it and waited in front of the store. The place was small so there was no space to wait inside the store with so many people lining up. My order was delivered by the staff less than 5 minutes after with some information cards about the blend and the roaster's contact information. I enjoyed it at the storefront. Both the tea and coffee was strong and it was balanced with the sweetness. I did not ask for less sweet (I usually do), and it was a good decision. However, it should be noted that it was a double caffeine intake which could be quite acidic altogether, so it might trigger a withdrawal headache or stomach issues. In my case? The worker strike was totally worth it.

Cheese Tart Pablo Shinsaibashi is a must-visit spot in Japan, known for its delectable cheese tarts. Despite being reasonably priced at 800 yen, the quality of their most popular cheese tart is exceptional. If you're short on time, you can opt for their takeout gift shops to savor these rich treats. Consider grabbing a set of classic cheese tarts as a sweet souvenir or gift.
During my trip to Osaka, visiting Pablo in Shinsaibashi was at the top of my dessert bucket list—and it did not disappoint. I had heard a lot about their famous cheese tarts, and after trying one fresh from the oven, I completely understood the hype. The store itself is bright and inviting, located in the bustling Shinsaibashi shopping district, so it’s easy to stop by while exploring. The aroma of warm pastry and creamy cheese is impossible to resist. I ordered their original cheese tart, and the staff was friendly and efficient even with a steady flow of customers. The tart was slightly warm, with a soft, almost pudding-like center and a perfectly golden, buttery crust. The texture was unique—somewhere between a custard and a cheesecake—and it practically melted in my mouth. The flavor was subtly sweet with a rich, creamy cheese taste that wasn’t too overpowering. It struck a perfect balance, and even someone who isn’t a huge fan of cheese would probably enjoy it. What also impressed me was the quality of the ingredients. Everything tasted fresh, and it didn’t feel too heavy despite being indulgent. I also tried the mini tarts and one of their seasonal flavors—matcha—both of which were excellent. Prices are reasonable considering the quality, and they offer takeaway boxes if you want to bring some back as souvenirs (they even include ice packs). If you’re a dessert lover or just looking to try a Japanese twist on cheesecake, Pablo Shinsaibashi is a must-visit. Overall, it’s a 10/10 from me. Delicious, unique, and memorable—this cheese tart is something I’ll be dreaming about long after the trip.

One of my favorite sweet treats while visiting Osaka, love the cheese tarts they serve here. We tried both the original cheese tart as well as the creme brulee option, which in my opinion was a bit too sweet. Definitely worth a visit if you are around shinsaibashi shopping street. Queue might be quite long, but service is quick! ✨
Alexander A — Google review
We walked past this tart shop multiple times and it was always very busy, with a long line of people waiting. I didn’t know this tart shop was so famous, so we decided to try it out. Surprisingly, we didn’t have to wait that long because the line moved very quickly. And of course, the tarts were absolutely worth the wait! They were delicious and full of flavor.
Laloena A — Google review
You definitely need to stop by Pablo Shinsaibashi Osaka for a slice of cheese tart goodness! Their signature fresh-baked cheese tart is renowned for its unique, melt-in-your-mouth texture—it’s wonderfully creamy and light, almost like a cross between a custard and a cheesecake, all nestled in a crisp, buttery crust. However, if you're a fan of Japanese flavors, the matcha cheese tart is an excellent choice. I love its rich, authentic matcha flavor that blends perfectly with the soft, mildly sweet cheese filling, offering a delightful twist on their classic treat. It's not overly sweet and provides a satisfying depth of flavor. Whether you get the full-size tart or a bite-sized Pablo mini, it's a memorable dessert that makes a great souvenir or a lovely break while shopping in Shinsaibashi.
Jason A — Google review
Supposedly this is one of the most popular dessert places in Osaka, maybe even in the entire Japan. It’s definitely worth it, especially for cheesecake lovers. They have a variety of flavors, including raspberry, cream brûlée and matcha. I ordered a set of six different ones, out of them I really liked just one - with raspberry. The taste is well balanced in sugar and flavors, however excessive amount of tart dough makes the dessert very dry. So after every bite I had to chase it with tea. If you’re in the area, go ahead and give it a try but it’s definitely not a must visit place.
Alex K — Google review
This stall occupies a corner unit along Shinsaibashi. It sells a variety of cheese tarts. We ordered the cheese tart and Creme brûlée tarts. The special for this store is yakitori cheese tart. The store draws a constant queue of customers and you can even watch the staff do a live flambé of the sugar atop the cheese tarts to get the nice caramelisation. The staff is so adept that they use two torches, one in each hand to do the flambé of different tarts at the same time, and not charting them! 😅 If you are looking for a dessert snack to eat on the go or after a hard day’s shopping, you can get this! Recommended!
Winston H — Google review
They were sold out of the creme brulé mini tart so we tried the cheesecake and it was delicious. The matcha mini tart was equally as good. Definitely worth the hype. Don't let the line up put you off, it goes down quickly.
Kim L — Google review
This Pablo cheese tart is the kind of dessert that reminds you why Shinsaibashi’s crowds never stop. From the moment you lift the warm tart from its iconic box, the glossy golden surface gives off a gentle sweetness, hinting at the molten richness waiting beneath. The signature Pablo stamp adds a touch of craftsmanship—as if declaring that this is not just a pastry, but a small, edible performance. Cutting into the tart is its own pleasure. The crust gives a light, delicate crack, quickly surrendering to the flood of velvety cheese filling. The center isn’t dense or heavy; instead, it flows like warm custard—creamy, fragrant, and surprisingly airy. The flavor strikes a perfect balance: a mild tanginess from the cheese, lifted by subtle sweetness, creating a harmony that never overwhelms. Each bite feels indulgent yet effortless. The outer tart shell deserves a spotlight of its own. Baked to a pale golden hue, it offers a gentle crispness that contrasts beautifully with the soft, almost molten interior. The combination of textures—silky filling, tender crust, glossy top—turns every forkful into a layered experience. What makes this cheese tart truly memorable is its warmth. Fresh from the shop, the filling retains a soufflé-like lightness, bordering on luxurious cream. It melts across the tongue with a smoothness that feels almost hand-whipped. Even as it cools, the flavor stays bright and comforting, without the oily heaviness common in lesser cheese tarts. Overall, Pablo’s cheese tart is a dessert that delivers exactly what people hope for when they line up outside: richness without weight, fragrance without excess sweetness, and a texture that borders on addictive. It’s a simple idea elevated through precise execution—warm, soft, creamy, and unmistakably satisfying. A must-try in Shinsaibashi, and a reminder that sometimes the best treats are the ones that look humble but reveal pure indulgence inside.

Ordered an Iced Military Latte and a Limited Earl Grey Smore Cookie. The latte was distinctive, could taste the different notes of matcha and coffee. Milk wasn't overpowering. The cookie was amazing! Earl Grey is my personal favorite tea and the aroma was intense and wonderful, not influenced by anything else like lavender. Cookie was crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside!

I ordered a coffee and a muffin and wanted to sit with my wife. The staff insisted that she also had to order a drink, even after I explained that she cannot drink coffee for medical reasons. They simply didn’t care. If the café had been full, maybe I could understand, but it wasn’t — there were plenty of empty seats. What’s the logic here? Do you really prefer to earn nothing and have us leave, instead of letting one person order and pay when the place is not even full? Instead of showing a little flexibility and understanding, we got a cold and unreasonable response. Even if their coffee is amazing, people come first — and for me this was humiliating. I will never return to this place.

Ramen restaurant
Kadoya Shokudo is a bustling ramen shop located just northwest of Namba, known for its classic soy-based broth and flavorful black pork noodles. This main store has been serving its beloved Shoyu Ramen for over fifty years, drawing in locals and visitors alike. In addition to their specialty menu, they also offer popular dishes like Tsukemen and rice bowls topped with pork, along with refreshing beer options. To avoid long lines, it's best to arrive early.
We stumbled upon a ramen shop by chance. Initially, we thought it was just an ordinary ramen place, but it turned out to be hailed as Osaka’s number one ramen shop. The day we arrived, there wasn’t a long line outside, and we waited about 30 minutes before being seated. The staff, noticing we were foreigners, kindly provided us with an English menu and eating instructions, which was very thoughtful. They take your order in advance while you’re waiting in line, but even after being seated, you still need to wait around 10 minutes for the noodles to be cooked. The ramen doesn’t offer options for noodle firmness and is divided into soup ramen and dipping ramen, each served with different toppings. I originally chose the dipping ramen, which didn’t come with a soft-boiled egg, but after seeing photos of other people’s orders, I couldn’t resist adding one. The dipping broth was a slightly tangy meat-based sauce—rich in flavor but a bit greasy, with the subtle acidity balancing out the oiliness. The noodles had a moderate texture, neither too soft nor too hard, and the soft-boiled egg was perfectly prepared with a gelatinous yolk. The menu in the shop is hand-drawn by the owners, which gives it a lot of character, though it can be a bit tricky for foreigners to use translation apps with it. Fortunately, they also provide a simple English menu, making it a foreigner-friendly restaurant. The interior is covered with information about the origins of the ingredients, showing how much care goes into their selection. It feels like a ramen that brings together specialties from various regions of Japan. By the way, their chili oil is homemade, full of fragrance, and not overly spicy. You can add a little to your ramen halfway through eating to switch up the flavor. This is a ramen shop worth trying. The broth might still feel too rich for some, but it’s certainly worth a visit nonetheless.
Chi F — Google review
The place is apparently no. 1 ramen restaurant in Osaka according to Tabelog, and I can definitely confirm that it's true. The food is amazing. I highly recommend the Tsuke-Soba, which is the dipping noodle with concentrated broth, which comes with thick, chewy noodles and soft black pork chashu. Make sure to add eggs on your ramen bowl as well. Be aware that the lines are almost always long, and the restaurant is very small, so expect at least 1.5-2hrs of waiting time unless you plan on lining up before opening.
Hyun K — Google review
I’d heard this was the number one ramen spot in Osaka, so naturally, I had to try it for myself. The service stood out right away — super efficient. Staff take your order while you’re still in line, and when I asked for an English menu, the waitress didn’t hesitate to grab one. That kind of attentiveness really sets the tone. I went with the tsukemen, and yes — the broth is salty, but that’s exactly how it’s meant to be. With tsukemen, the broth is concentrated to cling to the noodles, not for sipping like regular ramen soup. It’s rich, savoury, and packed with umami. The char siu was incredibly tender and flavourful, basically falling apart with each bite. What really surprised me were the bamboo shoots — torched just enough to add this smoky depth I’ve never had before. The egg was spot-on too: soft-boiled, gooey, and seasoned perfectly. I also ordered a bowl of rice topped with their black pork and pickled leek — another standout. It was peppery, umami-rich, and deeply satisfying. A great side dish that could easily hold its own. Would I wait in line again for an hour and 25 minutes? Probably not. But was it worth it to try the most talked-about ramen in Osaka? Definitely. A solid bowl that lives up to the hype — at least once.
Elijah W — Google review
The best noodles I ate in Japan hands down and the texture is truly amazing! Apparently the chef changes the amount of ingredients in the noodle mixture based on the day’s humidity. I had the dipping noodles with pork trotter added to my ramen. Beautiful broth, so much umami and depth of flavour. Thank you for an awesome meal and experience! Absolutely worth the wait!
Kris T — Google review
The pork and pork-trotter tsukemen from Kadoya Shokudō in Osaka is a bowl that showcases craftsmanship through precision, restraint, and an obsession with detail. The noodles arrive first, laid out in immaculate, ribbon-like folds, glistening softly under the light. Their appearance alone promises quality: dense yet supple, firm yet silky. With each lift of the chopsticks, you can feel the weight and spring of well-crafted noodle dough. Once in the mouth, they are smooth, aromatic, and carry a gentle wheat fragrance that lingers. The dipping broth is the true soul of the dish. Despite its clear appearance, it carries remarkable depth—fat rendered from pork belly and pork trotters melts naturally into the soup, building layers of umami without becoming heavy. The first sip is clean and comforting, salty in a measured way, with a subtle sweetness from vegetables simmered down to enhance the broth. It’s a flavor profile that feels both classic and meticulously refined. The pork trotter is outstanding. Cooked with precision, its exterior is tender and elastic while the inside remains rich with gelatin that softens almost instantly on the tongue. There is no unwanted odor, only the pure, savory fragrance of well-handled pork. The thick-cut pork slices are equally delightful—uniformly marbled, with edges slightly bronzed, soaking up the broth and releasing a round, savory richness as you chew. Once dipped, the noodles transform. The broth clings beautifully to each strand, merging the wheat aroma with the mellow pork fat. The balance is exceptional—flavorful but never heavy, luxurious yet refreshing. Additions like the seasoned egg, scallions, and narutomaki enhance the bowl, adding color, aroma, and small bursts of contrasting texture. In short, Kadoya Shokudō’s pork and pork-trotter tsukemen is a complete, highly polished creation—from the elegance of the noodles to the clarity of the broth and the tenderness of the meats. It’s a bowl defined by purity of flavor, technical mastery, and a deep respect for ingredients. For fans of tsukemen, pork trotters, or simply clean yet profoundly flavorful soups, this is a dish worth traveling to Osaka for.

Top rated Ramen store in Osaka as of March 2025. Arrived right at opening time on a weekday and managed to get first seating as a solo diner. Had the signature Tsukemen with added pork trotters, large size. Delicious noodles. Dipping sauce had a vinegary kick. This was rather expensive at 3600 yen. English menu available.
K. L — Google review
The queue is real (slightly over 1 hour wait for us on a summer weekend) but ohhh so worth every minute of the wait! The tsukemen truly was legendary. Amazing broth! Will be back (with mini stools next time for the wait lol) for sure!

Number 1 ramen ln tabelog and they deserve it. Be prepared to queue standing for an hour. They have umbrellas to help you manage the sun and some ice water at the front door. They also have an english menu but you only come here for one thing and that is Tsukemen. The noodles are just the right texture and so slurpable when combined with the delicious broth. If you like shoyu and noodles, brave the line and you will be rewarded.

This no-frills lodging offers streamlined rooms with free Wi-Fi, making it a great value for money. Its proximity to Kansai Airport and the bustling shopping and dining areas of Namba make it an ideal choice for travelers.
We were a group of 40 that stayed in this hotel, the hotel staff speaks English very well which made the check-in and the stay convenient and easy. the hotel is 5 min away from Dotonbori street which made it very easy for us to stroll, explore and shop alike. The location is perfect for tourists, the service is amazing, the breakfast has a wide array of options for vegetarians and non vegetarians. The rooms are small but efficient. Most rooms are 12m2 which is small for 2 people, but it is manageable. Cleanliness wise, the hotel rooms are clean and the stay is comfortable.

These rooms are small but cute. They let us check in early for an extra fee so I really liked that. The staff was very nice. Lots of free amenities in the lobby for guests. My only complaint about this hotel is that the rooms are super hot and you can not control the temperature. It was very hard to sleep because we were sweating.

We had a room with double bed and it was pretty tight for 2 people and a suitcase. The room was generally clean and the bathroom was OK, but had a number of tiny drain flies that seemed to keep coming. They provide lots of amenities (toothbrush, sunscreen, pyjamas, etc.) for guests. For how loud it can be on the street, the room was very quiet. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The location was great as it is close to dotonburi, lots of restaurants, and subway stations. Overall the hotel is good and worth the price.

location wise its very close to Dotonbori. Room was small but enough for one person but there is no space to open luggage, washroom smells a but and I see insect flying which I dont know what. It is quiet considering close to the busiest street. Customer service during check in was okey but not warm but the trainee who helped me replace my hotel card was very helpful. Thanks!

The Sotetsu Grand Fresa Hotel is very well located right across the street from the famous Dotombori Street, train station and meeting points for tours. The rooms are a bit too small. The bed is very small to people and very uncomfortable, I woke up with back pain. The restroom is also small with a very high tub that it was hard for my elderly parent to get in. The walls are very thin, you can heard what the people on the next room are talking about. The hotel place their toiletries in the first floor and you grab as need it. They also provide pijamas (one size). They have a laundry for additional cost and a restaurant. On the main level in the morning they have service of luggage transfers to hotels. Their employees are very polite and helpful, extremely respectful.
Julito R — Google review
This hotel was decent, the location itself makes up for the room. It is very small and cramped but has everything you need. The hotel provides great free amenities in the lobby and the breakfast buffet had a large selection but was just alright. It was VERY busy during the week in the beginning of June not just with tourists but also businesses. The best part of the hotel is its proximity to the Dotonburi and public transport to get elsewhere. There was no shortage of food options just 5 minutes away.
Christina P — Google review
Perfect location - next to a subway station exit and there’s many amenities nearby such as shopping streets, shopping centers, less than 10 mins walk to Dotonburi, Family mart just downstairs the hotel, Yamato courier outlet just across a road beside the hotel (very convenient to send luggage across Japan). Check-in was a breeze, there’s a 24 hours operating reception as well as service service machines available. Staff was quite friendly. Many free amenities like bath salt, cotton buds, green tea, coffee, hair tie, hair wax, hair treatment, cleansing oil, sunscreen, lotion etc. There’s also free sized pajamas and free rental of hair straightener! I took the connecting room so the size wise was good for 2a2c; each room comes with 2 beds and en-suite bathroom with bathtub. Typical amenities like bottled water, kettle, shampoo, shower gel, hairdryer etc are all found in the room. There’s coin laundry available but it’s always occupied so I went to a nearby laundromat instead. Overall quite a good stay and value for money, but definitely not for those who prefers a more luxurious experience (probably can go for the international brands).

It's les than 1 minute walk to dotonbori st. The room we stayed in is good to accommodate me and my husband. Issues: AC- Aircon is malfunctioning. It is summer time, i informed front desk and was informed no maintenance work for days? So the acc vent is condensing and producing droplets of water. Refrigirator- I also informed front desk of what supposedly is a ref but DOES NOT cool anything not even small bottled water.. And front desk informed me that IT not a refrigerator but a cool box (but plugged to electricity. A cool box??? What?!? Ceiling light- One of the bulbs inside the room is busted. We are still here now actually. Pros: - good location - good buffet breakfast served - laundry machines are available

Located in the vibrant Dotonbori area of Osaka, Dotonbori Hotel offers basic yet comfortable rooms with flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. The hotel also provides loaner bikes for guests to explore the lively surroundings. Once a theater district, Dotonbori is now known for its colossal billboards and neon lights, making it a perfect place for those seeking an exciting nightlife experience.
Partner and I stayed here during our trip to Osaka. The hotel is great, friendly staff and great freebies included (Ice-cream, soda, beer, noodles, activities - all at different times). Hotel rooms are small, but we knew this when making our booking. It suited us perfectly for our time in Osaka. Our only downside was the fact that the curtains were about 2 inches too short for the window so light peaked out at night. We fixed this by putting towels against the window and curtain to block some of the light. The hotel in a central location, quick walk to many train station entrances. Big 3 konbinis are all in walking distance, vending machine right outside the front doors too.

The hotel is conveniently situated close to Dotonburi. Great perk if you have the active lifestyle. Lots of food and restaurants and places to shop within 10 min walk. Our room was the ones with a cement post between 2 beds. Kinda of eye sore, but doable. We booked via Expedia and booked as 4, but they said we booked a 3 person room, so only gave us amenities for 3 people. Which is fine because they provided fresh towels and garbage bags if you didn’t want your room to be serviced. There is free ice cream, drinks (alcohol and non alcohol) during the day (alcohol time is open from 3-9pm. Great perk if you like to drink. Kids love the free soda and calpis drink and ice cream. There are activities during the evening (never made it back for them), so couldn’t comment. Overall great location and hotel (outside can be quite noisy if you are a light sleeper. No complaints. Price faired. Great location. No concerns overall. Honest staff

The rooms are very small, but worth it if you just need a place to sleep. The location is very good. The staff said we had free breakfast, but the next day we were denied & then the staff said we did not have free breakfast. They also said they were "sold out" of orange juice, despite it being one of the main ingredients in their cocktail book. The free beer, ice cream, ramen & events is a very fun touch. The bathroom is incredibly small, the sink is halfway in the shower & your knees might touch the door when you sit on the toilet if you're tall. Great value, not super comfortable. I did enjoy their pillows.

Pretty decent hotel in a great, central location. They offer free instant noodles, sake, beer, icecream at certain times in the evening. It's great for families. Our room was very small which is normal in Japan yes but impossible to have 2 suitcases open at the same time.

We enjoy staying in this hotel. Location is great, very close to Dotonbori. Team is great, very welcoming and helpful. There are free ice-cream, drinks and noodles in the lobby. We enjoy the massage chairs. The hotel activities are fun. we got to dress with Japanese clothes and take beautiful pictures. Defiantly will come again.

Great Location, Great facilities, Great Service; an Excellent Hotel The hotel is a combination of Japanese sense of hospitality and friendliness and Japanese perfectionism. Very friendly and helpful staff, who carry out their work with the utmost accuracy and the pleasant environment create a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is located in one of Osaka's most popular districts for tourists with immediate access to shops, bars, restaurants and public transport. Free, high-quality hot and cold drinks, including beer and spirits, as well as ice cream and noodles, saved us not only money but also a lot of time. The room was small, that matches Japanese standards, but perfectly fitted with all necessary equipment. We spent four nights at the hotel, and I must admit, I couldn't find anything negative to mention. One thing is clear to me; the next time I travel to Osaka, my hotel is already chosen: Dotonbori Hotel

Great location, easy to get around to shopping and plenty of local food available across the street. Front desk staff went above and beyond multiple times to help me get a taxi or answer questions. They even helped me make a salon appointment in Asakusa when I was having difficulty with the web site booking. I had only booked 2 nights at the hotel, but extended my stay to 4 since it was so easy to get around to places nearby.
Nancy A — Google review
Stayed at Dotonbori hotel for 5 nights and had an excellent experience! The hotel is centrally located in the Dotonbori area with a ton of restaurant, bars and shopping literally steps away. Also close to the Namba metro station with one of the exits not to far from the hotel. The staff were super friendly and all the “extras” the hotel offered were a super nice touch. Cultural events Mon-Fri in the lobby, 2 massage chairs, cheap laundry, free beer, sake, booze and ice cream 3-9pm every day, free coffee any time, extra bathroom amenities like razor, wash cloth, hairbrush etc. We reserved our room without the breakfast but bought breakfast separately one morning (1,800¥). Excellent choice and recommend going hungry! I gave 4/5 stars for the rooms because we had a massive supporting pillar right in the middle of our room between the 2 beds which made it hard to have room for our luggage and to move around. There is AC in the lobby and all rooms but not in the elevators or hallways. Would definitely book here again and recommend to friends travelling to Osaka!

Okonomiyaki restaurant
Okonomiyaki Kiji is a cozy basement restaurant known for its classic okonomiyaki pancakes with pork, egg, or squid. Despite its unassuming appearance, it's highly regarded for its delicious and affordable food. The walls are adorned with thank-you notes from satisfied customers, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The open kitchen allows diners to watch their meal being prepared and even interact with the chefs.
Delicious okonomiyaki. Friendly and attentive servers. Small space but the service and food makes up for it. We had to wait 10-15 min in line before being seated.
Pragya S — Google review
They Treat You Differently Based on Where You’re From I was really hungry, so I didn’t check the reviews before coming here. I ordered a large yakisoba and two okonomiyaki, but they served me a medium yakisoba instead. Also, our grill was way too hot and burned the food, while the grills at the tables with Japanese customers had just enough heat to keep the food warm. The staff saw our food burning but did absolutely nothing — that’s when I started getting really frustrated. I was worried they might charge me for the large yakisoba, so I asked for the receipt to compare the prices. Fortunately, I was only charged for the medium yakisoba and the two okonomiyaki. Still, make sure to ask for the receipt after your meal and double-check the prices. It really felt like foreign customers and local customers were being treated differently.

We went on a Saturday night and only waited about 20 minutes in line, pretty good! Tried the mix okonomiyaki and their best-seller modernyaki, both delicious and freshly prepared right in front of us at the counter. No surprise they’re featured in the Michelin Guide. The atmosphere is surreal: the train literally passes overhead, making the whole experience iconic and uniquely Osaka. Very much recommended.
Nicoló D — Google review
Don’t waste your time. Huge queue/line, all tourists and no locals, and too expensive. You can get okonomiyaki almost anywhere and be happy with it. The wait is just not worth it here.
M Z — Google review
What an amazing experience! We waited a while for a table but when you get up the stairs and take a seat you understand why! The chefs prepare the pancakes in front of the customers, one group at a time, and it’s amazing to see the process. The pancakes themselves are delicious and filling! The tiny restaurant is set in a building under the train tracks and the sound of trains rumbling overhead add to the unique ambience and the feeling that you have stepped into a secret little world of deliciousness.
Wendy F — Google review
Food here was delicious! We went with traditional Okonomiyaki, and both were fantastic! Based on our experience, it seems they attempt to seat the entire restaurant in batches, so once it is filled, everyone else must wait until the last person for the group before leaves before they seat as many as possible. They will give you a number for queue position. Based on what we saw, there are 7 bar seats and 4 tables that can seat 1-4 people, with the website listing a capacity of 20. Food was great and the staff provided an English menu as well. Only item of concern is a decent amount of dust buildup on the ceiling in sections. Otherwise a great place for a meal!
Chris D — Google review
Went a little before 6 on a Thursday and it is a bit confusing at first as there is a sign that says it may be an hour wait. There was no line so I just went in and they sat me on a bench in a waiting queue. Waited about 15 mins before I got seated. Small place with nice character, and they do have English menu. I didn't get to sit at the front so a bit unfortunate that I could not see it being made in front of me. Ordered a mixed okonomiyaki and yakisoba. It came to my teppanyaki already made but was good. Definitely hit the spot and was not very pricy but was nothing that was too mind blowing. Would try it again if I am back in Osaka
Geoffrey C — Google review
Excellent food. Most of the staff are friendly. Very hard to spot because the shop front is just a door with two flights of stairs. The queue is really something. We got there at 11 and the queue was quite long. By the time we left it was just as long. The food was worth it and price is very cheap. I’ve attached the menu so you can get ordered prior. Must go.

HOTEL THE FLAG Shinsaibashi is a modest hotel with simple rooms and amenities such as a restaurant and library. Situated in central Osaka, it's conveniently located near popular attractions like the Dotonbori River, Ebisu Tower Ferris Wheel, and America Village. The hotel's location in the Chuo Ward provides easy access to the bustling Shinsaibashi shotengai shopping street and the vibrant Dotonburi area.
Amazing stay in the heart of Osaka! We absolutely loved our stay here. The location is perfect — right in the center of Osaka, with most major attractions, great restaurants, and lively bars within walking distance. The service was excellent, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. As part of our honeymoon, we received a complimentary breakfast on our first morning, which was so delicious and reasonably priced (only 2000 yen per person) that we decided to add it for another day as well. The hotel has a modern and comfortable design, with convenient facilities like laundry machines, a cozy lounge area with tasty coffee and water, and spacious rooms that were perfect for a couple. They also handled the delivery of our luggage to our next hotel quickly and efficiently. Overall, this was the best city hotel we stayed at during our trip to Japan — highly recommended!
Tamir L — Google review
The rooms are mostly great, there is a great bathroom, and a lot of room. The downside is that there isn't a place to put things like luggage besides the floor. The beds are very good and there is an air conditioner and a humidifier. About the service, it was amazing, nice people, and fast cleaning and changing service. But the very best and top notch quality of the hotel is its location. It is located close to a very nice and cool street. A 5 minute walk and you have all the shops you need+a metro. Overall great !
Dizzy — Google review
Staying at HOTEL THE FLAG Shinsaibashi was a great experience overall. The hotel itself is very modern with plenty of amenities — around four washers and dryers (with live availability viewable from your room), vending machines, free coffee, a change machine, and even a library area to relax in. The rooms were comfortable and spacious enough for a couple, with modern facilities and decent streaming options. The biggest highlight was definitely the staff. The hotel clearly puts effort into hiring a multilingual team — we met staff who spoke excellent English and other languages, and there’s even a pinboard showing which days and hours each language speaker is available (English, German, French, Japanese, etc.). It’s a thoughtful touch that makes the experience smooth for international guests. Breakfast was a Western-style buffet, good for those who prefer continental options. The location is right in the heart of Shinsaibashi — perfect if you like being in the middle of the action, shops, and nightlife. For us personally, we found the area a bit too busy, so we’d probably stay elsewhere next time. But for families or travelers who enjoy the energy of downtown Osaka, this hotel is an excellent choice.
John C — Google review
This hotel was truly exceptional! Its prime location, just a 10-minute walk from Dotonbori and 6 minutes from the metro, made exploring Osaka a breeze. Our 8-night stay exceeded all expectations; the beds were comfortable, and the room was spacious. The convenient on-site laundry was a huge plus. The breakfast spread was incredible, offering a wide variety of delicious options. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful, even assisting us with getting our four suitcases into our rental car. We will definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Osaka.
Mathilde — Google review
Don’t letvthe facade deceive you. This hotel has the most beautiful rooms my family have stayed in the whole Japan. The beds were huge. There was a lot of space for everything. And the most beautiful bathroom you will ever set foot into. I will also give 5 stars for the buffet breakfast. A bit pricey but totally worth every yen!
Gaylord B — Google review
Loved loved loved this place! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Very modern hotel, loved that they are trying to be really green. Free coffee in the lobby, the laundry facilities are great, staff was just superb, and the rooms were really nice. It has a really modern feel, the location is on point. I don’t have anything negative to say about this place at all. And lastly I thought it was an excellent value! Just book this place and don’t bother searching anymore.
John W — Google review
I loved this hotel. It was easy to get there from Shin-Osaka and was walking distance from the main shopping area in Shinsaibashi. It was close to a few stations depending on where you wanted to go. There are loads of places to eat in the vicinity. There was an Ichiran branch 2 mins away and a few convenience stores as well. The staff were nice and able to assist me with any queries. They held my cabin bag on the day of my arrival while I went sightseeing. They even put my luggage in my room before I came back to check-in. They had laundry facilities but the washer (¥500) was separate from the dryer (¥100 per 8-10 mins). My hotel room was clean and spacious and it had a rainfall shower. I was able to forward my luggage here from another hotel and forward onwards as well. I would definitely stay here again.
Nadia — Google review
This was our favorite stay out of our 17-day trip to Japan (out of 4 hotels). The location was so convenient - close to Family Mart and 7-Eleven for late night snacks or breakfast, shopping streets, Dotonbori area and a train station. Nice and clean hotel with friendly staff and a great coffee machine. Would 100% recommend this hotel and rebook again.

A Must-Try in Japan! This spot is definitely a must place to eat whenever you’re in Japan. The flavors truly satisfy every craving and make the wait worthwhile. We had to line up for more than an hour, but honestly, it was perfectly fine given how fulfilling the experience was. Once seated, every bite proved why people don’t mind waiting—the food delivers on taste, quality, and authenticity. If you’re looking for a memorable food experience, this place deserves a spot on your itinerary.

Just had the best Ramen at Ichiran! 🍜 My family loved it. There was a bit of a wait, but it was totally worth it. The soup was amazing and I finished every last drop. Can't wait to come back and do it all again!
Manson L — Google review
Excellent ramen and very affordable. I think the standard bowl of ramen was about ¥1000. You order off a kiosk (English available, cards accepted) and it prints out tickets (e.g., one for your ramen, one for soft boiled egg, and another for your drink) that you provide to the staff at your booth on the second floor. I am an early riser so I was happy to find this place was open 24 hours, when most places are not open until 10 or 11AM. Had a surprising amount of customers at 7AM - the seats were roughly a third occupied at the time. Absolutely delicious on a cold morning.
Ted K — Google review
The food was absolutely delicious! There was a line when we arrived, but it wasn’t too long — the turnover is quite fast, so we didn’t have to wait very long for our turn. We happened to walk by when the line looked manageable and decided to go for it, and we’re glad we did. If you’re visiting with young children, make sure they stay with you during the wait — the staff will call you in person when your table is ready, so it’s important to be present. Also, if you're visiting with a large group, it might be difficult to get seated all together, as the tables are somewhat limited in layout.
Brandon H — Google review
Ichiran always has crazy long lines, so be prepared to wait! But this branch has table seating, which is great if you’re coming in a group or with kids. If you have more than 5 people, you’ll need to split into separate tables. The ramen quality is always great, but sitting at a table gives a slightly different feel — I still recommend trying the individual booths for the full Ichiran experience, even though the line can be insanely long!
Rico P — Google review
There is NO line here unlike the couple of other Ichiran locations to the north along Shinsaibashi market street. Staff were helpful and it was pretty fast to get the food. Price is decent. Only downside is the food is quite salty so i would say the ramen is overall average but it is a unique experience for most tourists and highly recommend it.
Alvin T — Google review
Famous “chain” ramen for when you want privacy. Option for partitioned single booth seating or tables in a different dining area for groups. Waited about 20 minutes to get a single booth seat as there’s always a lineup. Ramen was quite good.

Red Rock Amemura is a must-visit spot in Osaka for anyone craving delicious, high-quality beef dishes. We ordered their Roast Beef Don and Beef Hamburg Set, and both were absolutely satisfying. The Roast Beef Don featured thinly sliced, tender roast beef stacked over warm rice, topped with a creamy onsen egg and drizzled with their signature sauce. Every bite was packed with umami and the perfect balance of flavors. The Beef Hamburg Set was equally impressive—juicy, flavorful, and paired with a rich demi-glace sauce, making it a comforting and hearty meal. The casual yet lively atmosphere adds to the experience, though expect a wait during peak hours. If you’re in Osaka and love beef, this place is a must-try!

To be honest, I’m not sure why this restaurant has such high reviews… the beef and rice were both tepid to cold in temperature and the flavors were quite overpowering. I get that roast beef can be served room temperature sometimes but at least having hot rice would’ve made this a bit better. It seemed like they were reheating a lot of components as the food came out scarily quickly also. A bit more care could’ve been taken especially considering there was only us and one other man in the restaurant at that time. The place felt a bit dirty compared to a lot of other restaurants I’ve been in Japan- maybe it just needed a bit of paint and a face lift. Very American style decor to be expected. The waitress was nice but service was quite bare minimum even for a fast food restaurant. I’ve had much better, warmer meals elsewhere for this price. There was hardly any difference between the larger portion and smaller to be honest. Food defines my happiness levels tbh and I felt a bit down after eating this… luckily I found a nice ice cream nearby to lift my spirits.
Georgia S — Google review
Meat was too salty and already half-cold when served. Felt like it wasn’t fresh cooked. Staff were polite, but overall just an average bistro.
Linda — Google review
A restaurant offering fantastic roast beef and steak. Situated in Namba’s Amerika Mura, they provide a solution for your meat cravings. Even though the prices are not exactly cheap, the amount of meat that comes with every order justifies the price in my opinion. We ordered the roast beef bowl and also the steak set meal, and were very full and satisfied. 9/10 would come again
Noah S — Google review
Absolutely shocking. Rice was drenched in a sweet sauce, the meat covered in some sort of creamy mayo which overpowered all the flavours, the meat was tepid. Go somewhere local and pay a fraction of the cost for something infinitely better… The beer was good though, well priced too!

Lovely diner cafe right off the subway exit. Spacious with river view window seats on 2nd floor. V reasonable prices for coffee and light meals. Only had coffee which is basic and did not have high expectations because of this price point ¥280 for black coffee with river view!! Friendly & efficient staff members. Lots of people working on their laptops and gets crowded at lunch.

Syokudo and Teishoku restaurant
Yoshinoya Namba CITY minamikan is a Japanese fast food chain that offers more than just the usual. Their specialty, gyudon, features a bowl of grilled beef and onions served over rice. Toppings like pickled ginger and raw eggs are available for added flavor, but the dish stands out on its own. The breakfast set options are well-balanced and affordable, with the salmon set being a popular choice.
Late review. Delicious food and quick service! I visited here with my family (of 4) in November 2023. We stopped by for a quick meal after exploring Denden Town. I speak basic Japanese and even then it was easy enough to order - the menu has English on it. The staff were accommodating of us, a family of tourists with backpacks. We tried not to be too much of a bother to the other customers. I had the gyudon with raw egg and extra negi. It was warm, tasty, and hearty. It was delicious, definitely very filling for the price (only ¥619!) and provided me with much-needed energy. ごちそうさまでした!

Went there to have breakfast with my wife. The Asian waiter is so rude and arrogant, can’t understand his English and he has no patience. The food was average not bad.

Yoshinoya (吉野家) is a massive, international Japanese fast-food chain, most famous for its beef bowls (gyūdon). The heart and soul of Yoshinoya is its gyūdon (牛丼). This is a simple, delicious, and affordable dish consisting of: · A bowl of steamed rice · Thinly sliced beef simmered in a sweet and savory sauce made from soy sauce, dashi (fish and seaweed stock), mirin, and sugar. · Topped with thinly sliced benishoga (red pickled ginger) It's the ultimate comfort food in Japan: quick, hearty, and satisfying. If offered eel and beef combo with soup , salad, eel abd beef with rice at this store. Yen 2100 with small bowl of beef with rice, and two pieces of eel , i had no complaint, it is not top notch of beef and eel but good for the price.

Just a normal Japanese food chain, great area, good food. Since we are a tourist, a foreign worker is pretty helpful, probably then can understand English a bit better.

Jouroku is a popular ramen eatery located in the Ura-Namba district of Osaka. This small, narrow restaurant offers only counter seating and specializes in serving up delicious bowls of ramen, accompanied by bottled beer. Despite its size, Jouroku attracts a bustling crowd, with visitors often surprised by the intense spiciness and nearly black appearance of the soup. The noodles are all handmade, adding to the unique experience of dining at this trendy spot in Osaka.
Cannot recommend highly enough! We came to try Osaka's famous Takaida Ramen and were so impressed! The flavours were delicious and friendly service
Kati E — Google review
If anyone goes there please note each person has to have an order. We only had one combo and the cook told us each person had to have an order. We got in late to Osaka and it was open woth some seats. The place is very dingy with the chef cooking the noodles right next to a garbage pail. To put it plainly the ramen is very average. Char sui lacked any flavor, the broth had no depth on either ramen. We went with the deluxe and a miso ramen. We had a mini combo and got their pork rice bowl as well which was we mediocre at best. I have a feeling they were using day old rice and the pork was under seasoned and dry.
Ray K — Google review
This is a must try at least once ramen if you are in Osaka. Ordered the small bowl ramen and added egg. Portion was ideal! Totally recommend this ramen which is very different from the usual type I get back in Singapore.
Bessy S — Google review
Excellent affordable Osaka-style ramen ❤️ pls don't expect top notch service for foreigners as they're damn busy. Amiable staff but don't expect them to lip service and entertain you. Go in ,order, go out ❤️ don't chat and stay seated after eating as there are always ppl queueing ❤️ Pleasant ❤️❤️❤️
Terumii — Google review
A ramen shop a few minute’s walk away from the Den Den Town area. The place only has counter seats, and the queue is inside using stools that face the eating customers. I ordered their chuuka soba with extra meat slices. The bowl is the most aggressive soy sauce ramen that I have ever eaten. The spice from the fresh onion gives a good kick from the mellow yet dark broth. It reminded me of a ru rou han bowl from Taiwan but with noodles. I wish that the slices from the extra helping of meat was as thin from the one provided in the standard bowl, but that is negligible from the overall quality.
Wrai ( — Google review
One of the best bowls of ramen you can get in Osaka, it’s a very unique taste that you can’t get it anywhere else! Not sure why there are so many reviews about the chef being rude, they were really kind and strict about the rules to follow as this restaurant gets very very busy. If you’re in Osaka you cannot miss out on this place! My recommendation is to arrive 15 minutes early as during 6:30pm there can be a long wait.
Charlie — Google review
The most popular kind of ramen is a bit salty for my taste. Very soy-saucey. I’d recommend the salt ramen (chicken &fisn stock based). Limited bar seating available but everyone eats relatively fast so the wait is bearable.

Great place to eat! We had to scan a qr code so they could contact us if the seats are ready. The location is great as we were able to look around while waiting. The service is great as well as the food. You must eat here when you are in japan!

Eh, it was ok. I was just expecting much more. Food was good, but not to the level I had imagined. The line was long as there are only 40 seats and was hot inside. The line was even longer when we came out.
Global N — Google review
Went to Ichiran ramen for at least 5 times, but this shop kind a disappointed with their service. The soup is too oily, and manner of the people is not up to standard, noisy places and no proper line up at the door entrance.
Robert L — Google review
a very long wait, you need to register your phone number, they notify you 40 minutes later, then you would need to line up another 20 minutes or so.. After all the wait, the noodle to us, is just ok only and it is not worth that wait. The sitting inside is individual space. It is probably a great instagram photo place than a good noodle restaurant.
David L — Google review
It was my first time trying Ichiran ramen, and I didn’t realize it was so close to my accommodation. I waited about 10 minutes around 11 AM. I ordered the simple ramen and extra onion, and cola paid at kiosk. Then when I was seated, I ordered an egg, which you pay as you order. Some visitors were a bit noisy, but the food made up for it. The whole experience is basically line up, order, eat, then go. I love places like this, great for solo travelers and a fun experience overall. When you exit, you can also purchase ready-to-cook ones!

Ichiran Ramen, my favourite ramen in Japan. The shop decorated as standard ramen shop in Japan. It does not serve in a comfort table. Number of seats are limited too. It is extremely busy and should be expected to be wait for 20 mins at least for peak hours.

We came earlier so only had to wait 30 minutes. It was very delicious and adjustable to each individual taste. The broth was very deep and we liked our noodles firmer which was great. Stopped by for a small snack it was my first time trying Moss Burger, ordered the onion rings, a matcha vanilla shake, and lemon vanilla shake. I was really impressed by the fast food spot though because everything was actually really good. The seating was comfortable, a bit dirty but thats pretty standard. There’s a lot of charging ports which is really considerate. The staff was actually really sweet too ahah even when most of the experience is self serve because you can order from a machine but they bring the food out to you which I thought was really impressive.

Surprisingly amazing – MOS Burger just gets it. I wasn’t expecting much, just a quick bite. But wow – the burgers here are crazy good. Super fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked, and way more flavor than you'd expect from a fast-food chain. Shake Shack? Never heard of her. She's an ex. It's all about MOS, baby. Freshness so real you can hear the lettuce whisper motivational quotes. If you’re in Japan, skip the usual chains and give MOS a try. You’ll probably end up like me, telling your friends: “Dude… why is this so good?!”

Amazing place. Kiosk has English option, and staff are friendly to guide you if you don’t know the process. You can pay with credit card, cash or one of those Asian apps. My sister and I got tired of the overly sweet food that seems to be everywhere in Japan and this was the perfect place for meals similar to what we like. Subtle flavors and fresh tasting at great value. They have free white rice refills, hot tea and water. I wish we found this sooner.

I am so glad I found this place via Google Maps, I kept waking up early due to jet lag and needed to find a place open serving good food and this hit the spot perfectly. The food was so good and inexpensive I came here twice for breakfast on separate days. Both times I got the Japanese breakfast set, once with salted mackerel and the other time with salted salmon. Both were delicious and provided plenty of food for only 510 yen which is only $3.39 USD, what a bargain!

Filling set meals, multi-lingual ordering kiosk, and quick service. We ordered from a seasonal menu because cold soba is amazing when it's 90 degrees outside and they were paired with fried pork bowls. The meat portion was pretty small but the overall amount of food was still good for the price.

Good food - price relation. Stumbled across this restaurant on our evening stroll and decided to try out traditional japanese set meals. My first time eating at Yoshinoya was great! The system is really simple and streamlined, you take a tray and line up. You pick all the sides you want, there’s a great variety of them, before you order your udon. I had the salad udon and it was delicious and very refreshing in the hot weather. The self serve counter has free water and toppings like pickled radish which was great too. Really good value for your money and quality of food is great.

No frills restaurant if you're looking for a quick eat at Shinsaibashi. There are two counters - one for udon and tempura. If you just want gyudon, you can go to the back and there's a separate counter for Yoshinoya.

I liked the food and liked the concept when I understood it. Very easy actually. Just grab what you want and proceed down the line, then tell them the type of noodles or what else, pay and eat✨ I especially liked the thick broth with udon and beef. Paired with the fried vegetable circle (Kakiage) it's extra delicious 🤤
Emsenov — Google review
Excellent udon, even without considering the price. The sliced pork was nicely seasoned but unfortunately had more fat than I'd like. The tempura was excellent - the fried chicken tasty, the chicken breast soft, and the eggplant flavourful. It can feel a bit chaotic when a number of tourists don't return trays and some of the drink machines don't work very well.

Quite a hectic restaurant, understandable with the human river of tourists just outside. Some patience to get a table & queing to order will reward you with a diverse choice of good food. We liked everything we ordered. Water, green onion & tempura fried bits were freeflow.

The main deskfront facing the street with no ordering machine. The stairway is so narrow that one has to give way to the other in case of collison. If you find yourself wandering through the vibrant streets of Dotonbori, make sure to stop by Yoshinoya Midosuji-namba for a delightful culinary experience. Established in 1899, this iconic fast-food chain specializes in gyudon, or beef bowls, which are not only delicious but also incredibly affordable—starting at just 380 JPY (around $3.70).
If you’re in Dotonbori and looking for a quick, delicious, and affordable meal, Yoshinoya is a great choice! The location is super convenient, right in the heart of Osaka’s bustling food scene, making it perfect for a fast and satisfying bite. The gyudon (beef bowl) is the star of the menu—tender, flavorful beef over perfectly steamed rice, served with their signature sauce. You can also customize it with extra toppings like cheese, egg, or kimchi for even more flavor. The portions are generous, and the food is always served hot and fresh. Great food, fast service, and budget-friendly!

More/less a standard Yoshinoya experience. Frankly couldn't see much difference between large and XL meals, hence not sure if the latter is worth it. Food has to be paid in advance. Upstairs would have a decent view to Dotonbori if the windows were clean.

Quick food, taste ok. The amount of meat is not very much

My 1st ever Yoshinoya experience 💕 Super affordable yet Super yummy beef gyudon partnered with their signature green tea 🍵

Food is of the same good quality Yoshinoya delivers. This branch's acoustics and cleanliness need improvement. One customer was talking loudly. He could be heard from opposite ends of the first floor. My wife and I saw a small cockroach crawling on her tabletop.

Ordered one bowl and did not get served. Waited 30 minutes, and then we had to leave to the airport. Previously, we were having issues with our pad and tried to call an attendant. They never showed up. When we eventually figured it out for ourselves, it took a good 10 minutes for an attendant to verbally confirm our order. And then we waited another 15 to hopefully get our food. We never did, and had to leave for the airport. Extremely disappointing last food experience in Japan.

Yoshinoya is a decent place to get a nice hot meal while in DOTONBORI. The food tastes nice but some staff can be a little rude. The restaurant is nice cosy little place to chill while eating!
Fishmagic25 — Google review
Oishi! 😋 Small stall nearby where we stayed so it’s convenient, but there’s limited options vs other Yoshinoya locations. No pork options so ended up with beef gyudon, which is also good since it’s not that saucy. Generous portions of meat but way too many rice for me. The salad is a fave because of the sesame dressing 🤤

Pizza restaurant
The rustic-style trattoria, known as A PIZZA, offers a variety of Italian dishes such as flatbread pizzas and pasta. The food is of high quality and the staff is friendly. However, customers should be aware that the pizzas are smaller than expected, more akin to personal-sized flatbreads. The prices reflect this size. For instance, a 3 x 4 pizza costs between 480-800 units whereas a round Neapolitan pizza elsewhere costs 1980 units.
Really unique decor and menu - all dishes are represented by stylized drawings. The pizza was great (albeit small in size), tried their homemade coke as well, it had an interesting citrus-sweet flavour. Staff was very friendly and helpful :) (Ordering is done via QR scan link, have to google translate the page)
Lukasz S — Google review
Best Italian pizza in town! This little restaurant in Namba is really nice: young, cosy and welcoming atmosphere. There are two small tables also outside. You can get a very good Italian style pizza for a very reasonable price per portion. Yes, they also serve less "traditional pizzas" (but more American-taste "chicken" or "pepperoni") but if you order a Margherita you won't be disappointed! The dough is great, so is the tomato and mozzarella. All the other ingredients on top are very fresh too (chopped cherry tomatoes, ham...). What I like the most is that the staff is all composed by young people: so professional, organised and smiling. As an Italian is such a pleasure to see how these young Japanese have learnt to cook the perfect pizza! The restaurant offers also a variety of other Italian dishes (salads, burrata, pasta). I have not tried them (yet) but I saw the ones of my neighbours and looked also quite "real Italian style". Best place to have pizza in town: don't miss it!!
Alessandra L — Google review
Best pizza ever! We came here last year and loved it, we came back to Japan this year and decided to make it a point to come to Osaka just for this place! Yes this is that good and 100% worth it. The dough of the pizza is just perfection, I usually get very bloated with pizza, but somehow when I have this pizza that does not happen. Service is really good, the vibe is great and prices are even better. I can’t recommend enough!
Grecia W — Google review
We were tired of Asian food after two weeks of traveling and wanted some hearty Italian food. This place was the real deal! Super fun to sit at the bar and watch the kitchen. We had four separate servings of food, wine and soda for approximately 32 American dollars. You can’t beat that!
Ally K — Google review
We got there around 8 PM and luckily found a table for five just in time, since the place filled up fast with hungry folks waiting outside. Definitely suggest making a reservation to lock in your spot—trust me, it saves you from hanging around! The food here is nothing less than extraordinary! I can't get enough of the Chika—it's my absolute favorite. Each bite is generously topped and bursting with flavor, making it a truly unforgettable experience. I highly encourage everyone to dive into the whole menu; it’s worth every moment of exploration. But I have a feeling I’ll keep returning to that delightful Chika—it's just too good to resist!

this was absolutely amazing!! the food was so fresh and incredible. the staff are friendly and the place is clean and thoughtfully decorated. the illustrations throughout the way finding and menu are so amazing. 10/10 would recommend and come back. Matsuya is a popular spot known for its affordable and delicious beef and pork rice bowls. It's a great place to enjoy a hearty meal without spending too much, making it perfect for travelers on a budget. The process is simple: choose your bowl at the vending machine, pay, and receive a ticket to exchange for your meal at the counter. The food is tasty and filling, making it an excellent choice for breakfast or any time of day.
Always good beef rice bowls at very cheap prices. A hearty meal can be had here without breaking the bank and it’s a great way to escape the cold during the winter months as well. Start by picking your choice of beef or pork bowl rice at the vending machine and feed it with money once you've made your selection. A ticket pops out and that's when you find a seat at the counter and hand over your ticket to the server. He will then come back a few moments later with your order, steaming hot, ready to be enjoyed. There are sauces located near diners at the counter for you to add to your meal if you so wish. Also water is self-service and is free.

This place was great! The name of the game here is Affordable. I definitely got a lot of value for the entire meal I got from here and everything came out very fast and hot. I truly feel like the food tastes great but needed a bit more seasoning for one of the bowls which is provided in every seat so there were no issues there!. Really loved my experience here for the most part and it's just hard to find a location from this chain that fails to deliver.

Kappa Ramen Hompo Sennichimae is a small ramen restaurant located in an alleyway between tall buildings. Unlike most ramen places in Japan, this one actually accepts reservations, making it a convenient choice for those who want to secure a table ahead of time. The interior is cozy with counter-style tables and an English menu available on the ordering machine. Upon arrival, the friendly staff will promptly seat you and take your broth and noodle preferences.
Me and my wife tried the classic ramen and dipping noodles, and they were delicious with rich, well-balanced flavors and perfectly cooked noodles. The portions were just right, leaving us full. The service staff were friendly and attentive, and the chef with his genuine hospitality. A satisfying and pleasant dining experience all around.

You order at the machine, it even has an English option. You can choose if you want your ramen broth to be rich or less so. You can also choose the consistency of your noodles (strong, medium, soft). I got a coupon that let me ask for a refill of noodles once. You can add garlic if you like for free, aswell as kimchi. It wasn't expensive at all. It was delicious and the place was full of locals, which is always a good sign :) I'd happily visit again

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ After a long day in Nara, I arrived exhausted in Osaka—still stuffed from all the kushiyaki and beer at Shinsekai. But I wanted one more dish before bed and spotted Kappa Ramen Hompo on my Osaka homework list. Perfectly located just steps from my hotel, and open till 5 AM! Ordering is super easy with a multilingual machine that categorizes everything clearly. We ordered one rich and one clear Kappa ramen, plus a fried rice on the side (¥880 each ramen, ¥380 ex tax for the fried rice). We even got to pick our seats. The chef came by and asked how we wanted our noodles (firm, soft, normal—about seven levels!). We went with normal as recommended. There’s a self-serve station with pickled garlic and kimchi—both excellent. I also asked for a bib since I was wearing a white shirt. The food arrived fast and piping hot. Both broths were delicious—rich but not too salty. The rich version had those nice little bits of fat that add so much flavor, while the light version had the same tasty base minus the fat. Thin slices of chashu topped it off perfectly. The fried rice was super fragrant, and I added a bit of their chili oil for extra spice—it was exactly as advertised. The kimchi helped cut through the richness beautifully. Finished the meal in a couple of minutes—so good! Great service, incredible food. Time to pass out now—happy and full.
Rienk S — Google review
At a well-known ramen shop in the heart of Namba, I ordered a light broth ramen with extra chashu. The chashu was rich and flavorful with lots of juicy fat, and although the soup was described as “light,” it was actually super rich and satisfying. They also had Korean kimchi and fresh garlic available at the table. Highly recommend this spot if you’re into bold, savory ramen!
Marco L — Google review
My local buddy suggested me to come over to this place since I was craving for some good ramen and I didn't want any more Ichilan or Ippudo. Its a very local ramen restaurant but it holds very authentic and amazing taste food here. You taste the broth first and you can tell they put a lot of work into it, just delicious! We both were offered free extra ramen and of course we finished it, that says it all!
James S — Google review
The taste is great! Nice and easy to order through terminal, english friendly, the portions are big as it is, but you also get a card with each ramen for a one time free noodle refill. Some raw garlic, kimchi and spicy oil to add to your meal is available on the table to add as much as you like. Beer price is fair although you will not get the ‘big’ volume beer glass like in Europe(biggest size beer in photo)

If you ever drink and need something to recharge yourself, come to this place because this food was fire. The food that I had was spicy food, not a burning sensation but a well seasoned spice with fried rice.

(Translated by Google) It's been a while since I last went to Subway, and I thought it was nice that they had a touch panel for ordering and it was easy to select options. However, this time it was around 2:00 pm and it wasn't meal time, so I was able to slowly operate the service without waiting in line. However, during peak hours, if there are people waiting behind you, you may feel rushed and have a hard time operating the service. The meal consisted of cheese salad chicken with various toppings. It wasn't hard to eat, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, spilling all the ingredients and getting my hands sticky😁 (Original)

I ordered “Roasted Soy Sauce Egg Bacon Thick Beef” aka the Samurai Mac. There’s teriyaki sauce in the burger which is sweet and salty. I was looking for sweet and sour sauce for chicken nuggets but I couldn’t find it so I ordered lemon sauce. The place to dine in is on the second floor and there’s plenty of space up stairs.

McDonald's Chicken McNuggets are a classic fast-food favorite that consistently delivers on taste and convenience. The crispy, golden-brown exterior gives way to tender, juicy chicken inside, making each bite satisfying. They come in a variety of dipping sauces, which adds a fun and customizable element to the meal. While they may not be the healthiest option, they are a reliable treat for anyone craving a quick, tasty snack. Perfect for sharing or enjoying on your own, McNuggets remain a staple of the McDonald's menu.

If you're from America, even if you don't like McDonald's. Give it a try.. frys are the same but everything else is different. Way better. Had a chicken sandwich. Chicken was hot, crispy, had a nice sauce on it. The shrimp nuggets were good, chewy but good. The mini pancakes for dessert. Great idea. I dont know if it was the syrup, butter, or pancakes but something about them had a different flavor than a basic pancake. Definitely try them

NONSENSE, isn't this a McDonald's? I've been eating and spending time here for days as a tourist, and since I'm a backpacker, the internet is useful to me, I just went there and wanted to sit and rest for a while, then I was going to eat, I was hungry, an idiot staff came and said that I didn't have any food and I had to go out, I was shocked, Even though I said I would get food soon, he extended his hand and showed me the door. Damn it, I will never go into a McDonald's in any country or place again, I am waiting for the response of this rudeness to be reported to the branch manager, what does this mean?

In Osaka, Japan, there's a Middle Eastern gem called Falafel Sababa ファラフェル サババ. Opened by Moshe and his wife Kumo, this eatery offers an authentic taste of Middle Eastern cuisine. While Moshe is Israeli, the menu isn't limited to just Israeli dishes but rather represents a fusion of flavors from various regions in the Middle East. Visitors praise the delicious falafel and other offerings like baklava for dessert.
This place is really great. Small little restaurant like so many here in Japan and the food was outstanding. Good choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian Levantine food. Would have definitely come back, but only found it the last night we stayed in Osaka!

The Vegetarian 5 Point Review: Falafel Sababa Taste: 7/10. Plenty of vegetarian options on the menu, though unfortunately the vegan kebab was sold out by 9pm. The falafel we did have was rich, flavorful, and satisfying. Overall taste was good, but nothing mind-blowing. Ambience: 4/10. It's a true hole-in-the-wall spot—minimal seating and not ideal for groups larger than 2 unless you're okay sitting apart. Definitely more of a grab-and-go vibe than a sit-down experience. Service: 6/10. The owner was kind and gave helpful recommendations, but there’s no table service. You order, wait, and grab your food—simple and functional. Value for Money: 10/10. We paid under $10 per person including drinks, and it hit the spot for a quick, filling meal. Especially good value for vegetarians craving Mediterranean flavors near Dotonbori. Recommendations: Vegetarian Half Falafel Ask for the hot sauce!

Wow! What a delicious little hole in the wall find in Osaka 😋 we have been craving Mediterranean food and Falafel Sababa did not disappoint. We ordered a pita and the falafel plate 🧆 Everything was fresh and flavorful. Be sure to visit if you are in Osaka. Just be mindful that there isn’t a lot of seating, so you may have to wait or take it to go ☺️
Hannah C — Google review
The food is delicious with many vegetarian choices. It’s a small nook with middle eastern artifacts. The pita are made for them by a local bakery and they are delightful. Tiny table out front, and a rare find in Osaka. I had the full pita, and would probably have the platter and kebab next time. I love baklava, so I took one home for later. He wrapped it well, as it is fresh and oozes honey syrup. Truly refreshing to see something different after rice and noodles. The only other falafel I’ve found is 2-3 levels underground near Osaka Station (RUDY’S CLUB), and it’s served as an appetizer not a plate or a sandwich.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home and happy to ask questions about the menu. The food at Falafel Sababa is absolutely outstanding. The falafel is perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, bursting with flavor in every bite. The variety of toppings and sauces allows you to customize your meal exactly how you like it, and every ingredient tasted fresh and high-quality. I also tried their hummus and shawarma, both of which were rich, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The balance of spices and textures really elevates each dish, making it feel authentic and satisfying. What really sets Falafel Sababa apart is the attention to detail and care that goes into both the food and the service. The staff were knowledgeable, quick to help, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing their love for the cuisine. The portions were generous, making it excellent value for money, and the overall dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. Falafel Sababa is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious, authentic Middle Eastern food. The combination of friendly service, fresh ingredients, and mouthwatering flavors makes it a standout choice, and I can’t wait to come back to try more items from their menu.

When I saw “falafel” on the menu, I expected more, but unfortunately I got half a pita that was mostly salads, with three relatively dry falafel balls that personally felt like frozen falafel heated in a microwave. The place does have a nice atmosphere, that’s for sure. Just be aware that if you take a shot of arak and ask the manager if he wants to join, he’ll probably charge you for his shot (the only place in the world this has ever happened to me, but okay…). The price compared to what you get is kind of a joke :( Overall, the service was good — aside from being charged for the manager’s shot.

Very small shop with 6-8 chairs inside and 4 seat outside. Owner was extremely nice and we were able to chitchat in french too! Try their chicken kebab! It was so good!

Informal ramen restaurant with a specialty for tonkotsu ramen in a pork bone broth.
The best ramen I have tried so far in Japan, it is very tasty. So glad to find an Ichiran Ramen with no pork option. We had a great dinner here even the line was very long. It start from the front of restaurant, goes all the way up the stairs, and keeps on going while inside. The staff is quite helpfull. The concept for seat is unique. If you come in a group be prepared to separate because it is a private concept seat.

The ramen is delicious. So great to find a no pork option. The medium seasoning is recommended but I personally found it quite strong so would opt for the light version with a bit extra garlic next time. Also, the egg comes still in the shell so be prepared to peel if yourself. The wait is very long. We came around 6 and only got a table around 7:15pm. The line starts at the front of the restaurant and goes all the way up the stairs and once inside, it just keeps on going. When seated, there are dividers between every seat so be prepared to look over the shoulder of the person next to you if you want to chat! Great concept for privacy, but might be inconvenient for people with young kids or big groups. Overall, good ramen but be prepared for a long wait.

Really great experience at the no pork Ichiran location in Osaka. The ramen is rich and flavorful and it is amazing that they also offer the gift boxes in the no pork option. The wait can be quite long. We waited about 1 hour but the system is very convenient. They give you a number and a link to follow your place in line online so you can explore the area and come back when it is almost your turn. Overall, definitely worth it for anyone who does not eat pork but still wants to enjoy Ichiran’s famous ramen.

Loved it! my first time trying Ichiran, you have to go up the stairs (next to the sushi place). There is always a crowd, they give you a QR code, and you have to keep checkin it. It is actually very convenient, i went for a walk while waiting.

We had dinner at Ichiran Namba Midosuji before taking an evening stroll along the lively streets of Osaka. Despite it being a well-known chain, the experience still felt unique. Ichiran is famous for its individual dining booths, which was perfect after a long day when all you want is to focus on your food. Ordering was done through a vending machine, and then we filled out a form to customise our bowl of tonkotsu ramen—everything from noodle firmness to spice level and richness of the broth. The ramen was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The noodles were firm (just how I like them), and the pork slices were tender and tasty. Their signature red sauce gave the broth a subtle kick without overpowering the flavors. The experience felt efficient yet personal. Great spot if you’re craving a solid bowl of ramen in Osaka. Perfect start to a chill night exploring the city.

I finally made it to the famous ramen spot in town! It’s located in Dotonbori, just a 2–3 minute walk from the Glico sign. I arrived around 1 PM and had to wait almost an hour just to get to the vending machine to place my order. After that, there was another 20–30 minute wait. The staff gave me a paper order form (not sure what it’s officially called). When it was finally my turn, I went inside a private booth and handed in the order sheet I had filled out earlier. It didn’t take long before the ramen was served right in front of me. The ramen was so good—at least for me personally. The broth, the noodles, the beef—everything was just perfect. I also ordered the matcha pudding, which was just okay. The total cost was 1,720 yen. Overall, it was a great experience, from the food to the whole atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The pork-free Ichiran ramen here were the best I’ve had in all of Japan. The flavor was rich, perfectly balanced, and truly exceeded my expectations. Absolutely recommend!

The ramen and soup are great, but the queue can be very long. Remember to take a queue number first, then go shopping while you wait so you don’t have to stand in line.
