Was a bit worried after seeing the mixed reviews, but ended up being the best meal of our trip. All dishes were great, especially the lamb.

The worst manager I have ever encountered. Despite plenty of available seats outside, the manager arrogantly said, ‘If you give me €1000, I can find you a seat.’ I was shocked by such unprofessionalism and greed—his attitude seemed to revolve entirely around money. To make matters worse, when I spoke to one of the waiters saying I would wait, the manager interrupted and proclaimed, ‘I’m the manager here, and I decide everything.’ This behavior explains the restaurant’s low rating of 3.5 stars. It’s truly a shame for the owner to employ such a person who tarnishes the restaurant’s reputation. This unpleasant experience occurred in December 2024.

Delicious dinner and lunch in 24 hours! Terrace is lovely and sunny for a post ski meal or drink. Recommend the burger and tartiflette.

A very beautiful restaurant, located high in the mountains in Avoria. We were there on March 8, 2024. We were greeted by a beautiful brunette girl with a very friendly smile. Beautiful views outside and inside. Everything is made of wood and such warm colors, I was so happy when it was warm inside the restaurant, since it was cold outside even though it was sunny , but in the restaurant it was hot even in a jacket, girls can wear a dress and don’t freeze in the restaurant 😀. At first the service is slow, but then everything is fine, very calm, kind waiters, I liked that you can come and order food during the day from 12:00 to 13: 00, but you can sit and eat and drink and dessert longer and enjoy the beautiful views, no one will rush you and send you out of the restaurant, even if lunch is over, there is a large bar counter, many different beautiful seats for any company, this is the first place where finally they served a fork for dessert and it was very convenient, beautiful dishes, high-quality glasses, for example for whiskey 🥃. The people around were sitting all happy and it was clear that they liked the atmosphere. Very tasty food, this time we ordered a light meal - sushi 🍣 🍱 We recommend the restaurant 🍽️

We chose to come here for dinner as part of the the ski package and had to book to get in as it was busy due to the excellent location and food options. The quality of the service was very good and the food was excellent, but it was a little more expensive than others nearby. We had 2 different steaks, a burger and chicken with a bottle of wine which came to just over €40 per person.

You know every so often you just stumble across a place that you think might be good, but it ends up being much more than that!!! Walked into La Cabane because we were obviously hungry. The place from the outside looks great with its huge round porthole windows and very nice entrance. The greeting at the door was very friendly and inviting, as was the service, pleasant and professional!!! The decor and ambiance was fantastic, and we instantly fell in love with the place. The food, we can describe it as WOW!!! Everything that came out of the kitchen was flavoursome, exquisite and with genuine flavours, just as we expected and wanted, especially the shepherds pie and the pot of veal, just awesome!!! We are coming back!!!

Fantastic dining experience. I came with a group of 55. Superb service and food. Really excellent lunchtime with them.

We ski in morzine/Avoriaz every year and this is our favourite restaurant and alway one of the highlights of our trip. The food is outstanding and the service super friendly and efficient. It’s just as good on a sunny day on the terrace or on a whiteout day inside by the fire. The only problem is it’s so great that we end up staying much longer than we should!

Amazing meal and amazing service. A fantastic treat in the middle of the ski day. Escargot in home made garlic butter was top drawer but the tournedos with morilles was divine.

We come here every year and it is always one of the highlights of the week. Booking is often essential to avoid disappointment. Incredible food and great service. Large portions!

We had a lovely lunch for 7 in this restaurant. We had a collection of steaks, tartiflette, pasta and plenty of wine. Staff were friendly. Restaurant very busy but they kept it flowing! Could do with some hangers on the walls for ski kit if I was to get picky!! Top place!

Great place for a Ski break ... super quick staff and still friendly and flexible. We changed place from the terrace when fog got over the place, so we moved in. Not really what the staff was looking for in a crowded place like this at lunch... but they took it without changing the smile! Thank you. And by the way: big portions (our juniors eat) , well cooked and delicious taste!

Had a great lunch here. They really took care of us. We were a party of 22 (also someone's birthday) - food came out relatively quickly and was also hot and tasty! As it was post lunch rush, they whacked up the music and joined in the fun. Can't recommend enough. Merci Trappeurs!

Great range of local and international drinks. We didn't eat here but the staff were enthusiastic and attentive, the view was stunning and there was easy access to the Prodains Express cable car. Brilliant, we would definitely come back again, well worth anyone's time to visit.

Together with some friends I enjoyed lunch here in between skiing sessions. Thid place is very popular so reservations are in order. Very friendly and welcoming waiter and staff. If you like meat, you certainly must try the 'carré de veau', a huge lump of slow cooked veal. Me I had the pasta carbonara. 👌👍 Delicious! Recommended stop!

Great lunch bar in Avoriaz, fast service and great quality. Can really recommend!

Really lovely restaurant to enjoy a nice mountain lunch. We went twice - one in the morning for a coffee when it was quiet and another time at peak lunch rush where we were lucky to get a table after a 20 min wait. The staff are very nice and the food is delicious! They were very busy when we were there at lunchtime and I could see how some people could get frustrated at that because they were really busy and running around like crazy. But give them a chance and just be friendly and relax and enjoy your lunch. We had the mountain salad and a burger and both were incredible. Very well priced - that plus 8 glasses of wine came to about €75 which we were happy with! They even gave us a free génépi at the end. We will definitely visit again when we are back in Avoriaz!

Take a left past the queue at the Yeti Bar, and Le Fangle will provide you with great service and delicious food. The wait staff were excellent and there are good options for kids and adults. We enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace as it was lovely and sunny. Because it's tucked away a bit, it felt like a little oasis from the skiers constantly coming down the hill only a few meters away.

Good food, table was a bit squint on the ice but a good atmosphere except for the cigarette smoke from other diners so should have asked for a table inside. Found it a bit pricey.

Food is really good but the service was incredibly slow. We came with a large party so we split into two groups and the other group had finished eating their food over half an hour before we even got ours, let alone finished it. We had planned to go to Folie a Deux but by the time we managed to get our food and finish it there was no way to get in as the queue was so big, but the rest of our group had been in there for ages. The terribly slow service ruined our plans for the afternoon.

I wanted to eat something but this awful waiter told me to go upstairs, when I went upstairs her boss and colleagues told my to go downstairs for menu, I asked her second time, she disrespectfully ignored me and I had to find menu myself, after that she refused to take order so have to call for her. She came and started to rolling her eyes disrespectfully again. She ruined whole experience but I am glad her manager bring us our food smiling.

Fantastic, friendly, hard working staff made this lovely restaurant a joy to visit. We were able to reserve a table for 7 and we all enjoyed the ambience and great food. Well priced and just behind Follie Douce for some apres after lunch!

Started out good but ended with a huge disappointment. The pictures in this page does not at all correspond with the actual dishes served. The combination of over cooked food and high pricing does not feel better after our waitress tell us how the monk fish should taste. The place however is cozy and pork ribs and poached egg was fine.

Hyper disappointed to have eaten here on our last night. The food was awful. Dry steak haché for our child, dry and tasteless fish of the day, a terribly cooked and tasteless Black Angus. A waste of money. The bar downstairs is cool. Pity the restaurant lives up to the terrible in its title.

Directly at the ski slopes. (Fast)food and drinks are quite expensive but given the location, I can understand why. When you’re in France it might be the best option to take the ‘plat du jour’ and drink wine in stead of beer.

Food was very good, big tasty portions. We were shortchanged by 98.5 euros, but on the next day everything was worked out, restaurant staff apologized and made a refund

It helped that we were here on an almost perfect winters day. Great service, delicious food and right in the centre of the ski fields with numerous ski lifts nearby. The crepes were delicious.

Delicious crepes, reasonable prices. It is quite cramped in here as it's busy a lot, be careful as the floor can be slippery when wet and the toilets are down stairs which makes it difficult when wearing ski boots. The restaurant is beautiful although cramped, the food was totally worth the pain of being squished.

Great place to stop off for food and drinks. Large area with varying sized tables to suit all sizes of groups. Lunchtime can be busy so, if you know you'll be refuelling make a reservation. We were lucky as we waited 5 minutes before being seated. Good friendly service and the hot chocolate is gorgeous.

Easily accesible restaurant with good quality food and drinks. They regulate the corona rules and are fast with their orders. Surely an adventure to eat here! Its practical and basically anything one wants when taking a break on a ski slope.

Galette savoyarde was nice although cheese in one of the galettes was not melted enough. The price was pretty high for what you get though. The person at the counter alternated orders for restaurant and for take away though which prolonged the overall time. It was a bit unexpected that orders for restaurant are cooked outside

Most disgusting crêpe I ever had in the whole of Europe. Literally a disgrace for the entire French food industry. It was like eating some plastic sheet.

I really love this place. They serve lunch when everybody else’s kitchens are closed, the staff is friendly and fast, food is delicious.

We always eat here at least once or twice on each trip. The food is excellent, the staff are very friendly, the manager is very engaging, the service is always good, even when very busy, which is often the case. The Love Potion cocktail is one of our favourites and is worth a visit on its own. All of the burgers are very good, as is the Caeser Salad. We're sure to be back :-)

Amazing starters, however ordered my steak blue and it came out medium-well which was severely disappointing. However ordered another steak off the menu for takeout and was absolutely delectable, with all the staff being lovely.

Ribs were very big, but a bit tough. Mashed potatoes were excellent.

I was looking forward to having a nice steak and this looked like the ideal place. Booked a table for that evening and Sat in the window seat nice atmosphere this was a busy place and the waiter tried his best to keep up but was very overwhelmed by the work load needed one more waiter ,consequently our table was forgotten drinks and food took too long and when my steak arrived it was only average

Convenient if you're skiing avoriaz. Friendly service but they seemed a bit overloaded by the crowd. Food was decent and made a nice lunch. Good for groups

Warning: this place is a Pepsi restaurant so coke lovers beware. We stopped for lunch at chez Flo. The service itself (taking the order, drinks etc.) was quick enough but we waited an absolute age for the food. The server was polite enough but in a mad rush. The food was plain and nice. I had fries with my meal and they were lovely and crisp. The toasted sandwiches were also very nice. The only reason I won't go back is the delay in food. It is always very busy over lunch in these places but other restaurants seem to cope better.

Without doubt the best burgers in Avoriaz. Always friendly service and good selection of drinks. Highly recommend their Irish coffee.

Heartless location. Service personnel ignored us for a good 20 minutes and then continuously throughout dinner. Zero flexibility if you have an intolerance (they told me to order meat for two since I cannot eat cheese and refused to provide any dish for only one person. They served us a bucket of french fries sufficient for 10 even though we were two. Same with the salad that tasted like water and the meat. Food waste….

Cooking meats at the table was fun, portions were large, ambience was relaxed, food was excellent quality and the fondue was exceptional. The servers were lovely and the whole experience was perfect. Thank you.

Our experience was beyond disappointing. To begin with, the restaurant looks absolutely nothing like the photos. Despite having a reservation, we were seated directly across from a noisy children’s play area. When we requested to change seats, we were refused, even though there were clearly empty tables available. When the food arrived, it was a complete letdown. The dishes were cold—not even slightly warm—and the meat was an unappetizing brown color that made it unappealing to touch, let alone eat. We decided not to stay and eat and didn’t feel comfortable paying for food we couldn’t bring ourselves to try. When we raised this with the manager, things went from bad to worse. We explained that we would pay for the drinks but not the food, and her response was both rude and unprofessional. She became visibly upset and switched to speaking French, rather than English, making it so only one member in the family could understand . She aggressively insisted we pay for every dish, claiming that touching the food was enough to warrant full payment. To top it off, she threatened to blacklist us from all restaurants in Avoriaz—a bizarre and completely unnecessary escalation. This restaurant is a complete disaster and an insult to its customers. It looks nothing like the advertised photos, the food is not worth the money whatsoever, and the service is downright hostile. Avoid this place at all costs.

Stay away if you can… this was ours family most disappointing experience in Porte du Soleil. From the moment we arrived, the service was unwelcoming and arrogant, leaving us feeling more like a burden than valued guests. The staff seemed uninterested in accommodating our requests, which dampened the overall atmosphere. The seating arrangements were another disappointment. We were placed uncomfortably close to an indoor playground, which made the environment noisy and far from relaxing—hardly the cozy alpine dining experience one might expect. When the food arrived, it was a complete letdown. The dishes were lukewarm at best, with a clear lack of freshness. When we informed the manager that the food was cold, not good and not fresh, we politely requested to pay only for the drinks we had consumed. Instead of addressing our concerns with understanding, the manager presented us with the full bill for uneaten, substandard food. After a heated discussion, she grudgingly adjusted the bill to include only the drinks. However, what followed was completely unacceptable: she threatened to add us to a “blacklist” of unwanted customers—an appalling response to legitimate feedback. Overall, La Cachette failed to deliver on every front. Between the poor service, uncomfortable ambiance, and disappointing food, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an enjoyable dining experience in Avoriaz.

Delicious food and great service. We were a table of 4 and had the fondue and meat sizzle platter - all was great. NOTE: The restaurant menu is aimed at people sharing dishes as most things are for a minimum of 2 people.

10 min walk from Saskia area. Near the bowling and the public lift of les hauts fort. Friendly staff, Great atmosphere and great food! Only downside for me is the clothes really smell the food after being there. But will still recommend to eat there!

If you are going for raclette or fondue then that’s fine. Under no circumstances order the fish. Cold, mushy texture and incredibly small portion. Very expensive

Really good pizza. Looking around the place the cheese fondue and meat platter were emense. 7.30 pm visit..... we hadn't booked so initially it didn't look promising... but they found us a table. By the time we left it was packed, so book if you want to be sure as they were turning groups away. Handy for take out pizza if you're in the Falaise appt blocks. A little rushed with service and the draught beer was flat.... that's the only reason for dropping a star.

We chose to come here as an option in our ski package. The location is slightly out of the main town and close the the station and we booked as it does get busy. We came to have pizzas, but on this night they weren’t available, so we had steak and chicken main courses with rose and red wine. The quality of the service and food was very good and the cost came to under €40 per person

Just went in for drinks, could see the waitress sat inside having a great time, but customers all waiting outside. We went inside to order but told that we had to wait outside. We waited and then tried again inside after 15mins, only to be told that they had stopped serving (it was 6pm). Rude and unappreciative of their customers.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. My friend arrived earlier (as a group of 5) and asked for a table for 9, but was seated as was. When the next 4 of us arrived, we were refused service even after asking to wait for our own table for 4. I’ve never been refused service somewhere in my life, especially when there were free tables in the restaurants. Unbelievably rude staff for no reason whatsoever. Avoid at all costs.

Never had a bad meal here. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Traditional french alps meats and cheeses and also a great Pizza!

Excellent food, service, and location! Atmosphere relaxed and friendly, whether 30 or 300 clients. Fabulous team led by Germain & Pauline (owners) with Sebastian (front of house) - they run their business superbly Sunday special is spit-cooked honey roasted ham over dauphinoise potatoes for €21 with ham refills in the price (if they haven't run out!). Ski down to Montriond, then do it again 10x to work off the ham refill! 😉 I've been visiting these last 3 seasons, often taking new clients who all agree it's the best ham & dauphinoise on the mountain! Last Sunday also had the upside-down apple pie / amazing!!

A favourite for years, excellent service and banter. Great mountain cuisine. Great views, very easy to get to, on foot or skiing.

We last ate here in January 24. We all had the plat de jour which was excellent. The food was well presented, very tasty, and good quality. We've eaten here lots of times before, both before and after the rebuild. The new building is lovely, especially upstairs. The owner is really friendly, as you'd hope from a family business, but it's a busy restaurant so he always looks stressed :-) Always best to book in advance, especially if you want to be inside, as it is very popular in high season. We will definitely be coming back, as it one of our favourites.

Place is overcrowded, after an hour and 15 minutes we didn’t get out food, so cannot comment it. Just its poor organized, one person serving all tables outside. If you want to ski and enjoy, not to spend 2,3h in one place waiting this is not place to go…

A lovely, busy, friendly restaurant. Serving hearty and tasty food at a reasonable price. They're always busy, but still Tey to accommodate everyone, never turning anyone away. They work so hard. Xx

As a British man I have eaten a lot of sandwiches as they are unarguably our national treasure. This boulangerie have the best sandwiches I have ever eaten, to be honest this is the best food I've had in the resort. 7 baguettes a week is barely enough!

Lovely breads, excellent looking cakes, right in the middle of town. Quite expensive, but that's not really so surprising, still a cheaper option than most of the restaurants in the area. Perfect for a slightly cheaper lunch option.

Great sandwiches and pastry

Too many delicious pastries to reasonably fit in a short stay. Pizza is also great. Looking forward to my next trip to Avoriaz to visit again

Beer and pizzas arrived quickly to our table, perhaps too quickly; as 2 of the 4 people in our group had food poisoning for 48 hours, partially ruining the 4 days we’ve spent at Avoriaz. Hugely disappointing as it presented very nicely from the outside. It would appear we’re not the the only ones to have this happen, as other reviews mention this.. think twice before you order, or visit a place where you can see the kitchen!

Good atmosphere and the staff were nice and amazing , the salads were good but the pasta was taste less and the stake and the wine were bad :( It was expensive too ! I give two stars for food design and salad

Came here for dinner with friends during a week of skiing going to different places every night and it was so good we came back again for our last meal and then again for takeaway pizzas. The location is next to the station a bit of a walk from the main town and it’s good to book as it gets busy. There was a wonderful welcome and the service staff were great. Good selection of food - we had steak, chicken, veal, burger and pizza with red and rose wine. The quality and quantity was excellent. Total cost was around 40€ per person which is great value. Fully recommend

Third time to Avoriaz and had previously mixed experiences of Le Chapka and so was going to give this a miss. However, for a couple of days, we went in for drinks at the end of a day's skiing and were impressed with the welcome, the service and atmosphere so we decided to give the dinner service a go. We were told that they took no bookings so we rocked up just after 7pm on the Thursday evening and luckily, shown straight to a table. The place was more or less full but the service was friendly and efficient. The menu had slightly different choices to most others and this included their version of Chicken Fajitas which was different but still very good. Prices were also competitive as well. Would be happy to recommend on this basis However, the caveat to this is that we went back on Saturday lunch time wanting a drink before our transfer back to Geneva. The location is great, a sun trap in good conditions. The two of us sat down at a table but were asked to sit at a smaller one (which was reasonable). However, no one asked what we wanted and so we sat trying to get attention for another 10 minutes but either we were invisible or just ignored. We left without ordering We didn't recognise any of the lunch time crew from our Thursday night or other visits so maybe they just get the grumpy ones to work lunch time

Given some of the reviews we were undecided if to visit but so glad we did! We went a few times for a drink, once for pizza and once for a takeaway pizza. The pizzas were exactly how we like it and they were very generous on the toppings. Based on the experience we had we would go back and found service etc to be one of the better places visited in avoriaz. Its good simple delicious food. No issues with the staff everyone was very friendly and happy to help.

The food is fine but the woman making drinks behind the bar is obviously sick and open-mouth coughing all over the coffees and drinks she’s making, wiping her nose with her hands and handling glasses. She shouldn’t be working in a restaurant if she doesn’t have a basic understanding of hygiene.

After ordering 2 pints that came back a inch from the top and a cm from the marked line, we asked for them to be topped up, (in which they returned looking exactly the same) next round of pints were asked to be filled up properly upon ordering. This is the pint that was put on the table no joke, we payed for 50cl of beer and got this 4 times. Just wrong. Not going back. Suggest avoid.

This place sucks. They made me wait one hour for a meal I had to share and cook myself. The gave me a rock to cook it on so the meat stuck to it and wouldn't come off. 84 euros for that scam.

We had a delicious raclette meal, cafe gourmand and service was great. Would recommend for Amara guests.

Our favourite restaurant in Avoriaz. We go there on every ski trip and it’s always excellent. Food is great and service is fantastic. Max in particular is an exceptional waiter who always gives a five-star service. Thank you!

Lovely meal last night. Had the Pierre Chaud and Raclette, absolutely delicious. Generous portions - great chips and salad. Service was attentive and atmosphere buzzy.

Awful. 1. Only 2 waiters for the entire dining room including a table of 30+ people 2. We had to order our 5th wine choice since they were out of the first 4 we ordered (all on the menu) 3. It took 30 min from when we sat down for our water and wine to be served. 4. The food was not good: pizza was worse than frozen pizza. Truffle pasta had no truffle, and so on… 5. Waiter was very friendly but overwhelmed as he explained to us

Really bad experience here. We had a rude waiter who patronised us when we were asking for our correct food order. They didn't even charge us correctly. Also, when receiving the 2-3 person meat platter. They served us a plate of raw meat (including chicken) that was not specified on the menu or by the waiters. They also did not specify that we would have to cook this meat ourselves which added even more delay to us enjoying our food, whilst having to worry about salmonella. This place is disguised as a quality restaurant and they won't do anything to fix the problems as they're going to get unknowing customers everyday. I would recommend checking Google and TripAdvisor before choosing your place to eat in the evenings.

Ordered a burger where the contents did not match the description on the menu, which also had a typo. What's more, the burger bun was stale and crunchy after being toasted and the chips it was served with were hollow. Expect better for €25. 3 star because the atmosphere and staff were great.

We came at what looked like the beginning of dinner service as it was fairly quiet. Our food came out very fast, a bit too fast. It was very small in size and seemed like it was last nights reheated food. As the place filled up we could see other people had ordered the same as us and the dishes looked a lot fresher and larger. If you come here, don't get there early, you'll get last night's left overs and it won't be very nice. I did try to ask our waitress about it but she was very unpleasant when I did, so I didn't follow up.

The beef burger is really good, love the snails and carbonara comes in very generous potion! The menu is in French only but with phone translation not a problem. The chips that come with burger were a bit over cooked but overall food were great

6 of us sat in and ate here. The service was amazing and food was some of the best I've had on a mountain and I've had a lot!! Highly recommended and I can't wait to go back again. Extremely well priced too, just to top it off. Such a nice range of food too.

The best and kindest restaurant in Avoriaz I highly recommend to book on the day if you want to eat in the evening as the place is popular because the food is fantastic. I also highly recommend the raclette with smoked cheese. Great value. The staff is kind and the service is pretty fast. It really contributed to the magic of our stay in Avoriaz

Best restaurant we went to for authentic ski food, we went two nights in a row. Lovely friendly staff, and great food!! My favourite place for food during the holiday. I would recommend booking early in the day as they do get very busy. Thank you to the staff for two lovely evenings and looking after us. Also we got a take away pizza one night before and it was delicious! Highly recommend

Ordered two pizzas which looked and tasted like a supermarket pizza, which for €17 each is not ideal. The waitress was abrupt and not very friendly. Felt like we were not wanted there.

We had a huge black curly hair in our food, the lovely waitress was so accommodating and managed to get another dish out but we didn’t really fancy eating it after that. When the bill came we asked if that particular dish could please be deducted from the bill and the manager David (the rudest man I’ve ever come across) stormed over and refused, slapping the bill down in front of my face saying you pay it.. Appalling management of a business and clearly terrible Hygiene

This was our seventh visit to La Terrasse - which is normally an amazing experience, but not today. Even though we had selected 'outside table' when we booked online (and paid our deposit) we were placed on a cramped table, half under cover, with no room to move at all. If anyone on the table behind you wanted to move - say to go to the loo - you had to get up and put your chair in so that they could get out. It was completely rammed. When we mentioned to the chap who showed us to our seats that we had requested 'outside please', he said 'this IS outside'. Anyone who has been to this - normally lovely - restaurant would know that 'outside' meant 'out front', 'out in the sun', or 'out in front of the DJ where the space and fun is'. Rather than being the highlight of the holiday, it was a brief, cramped disapointment for all 18 of us. After the waitress had forgotten to bring us our drinks - twice - and we'd been sitting parched for 30 mins, we decided to leave. Really disappointed and thinking of cancelling our second booking for two days time.

Perfect 'spot'! We forgoed our disappointing hotel breakfast each morning for the delicious offerings here. Lunch here was also a big hit with the family. Great care taken with the food - not your standard top station cafe. Great place!

Visited yesterday for a light snack. Carrot cake to die for!! Lots of lovely sandwiches, burgers and sweet treats on offer. So good we went back today for burgers, cheese n ham toastie and a fresh wrap. All excellent quality, fresh n tasty! The staff are so lovely, polite, smiley and friendly, it was a lovely experience and atmosphere, so thank you to your team! Will definitely be back!

I had chicken tenders and hot chocolate which were very much enjoyed. Came here 5 times with my family on a 7 day trip!

I don’t often post bad ratings but this was genuinely unenjoyable and the management must try do do better. The place lacks cleanliness (kitchen and toilet) and the food is bland & unimaginative. We ordered the ravioli (covered in cream sauce and overcooked) and a salade montagnard (few leaves and lots of cheese crusts) Worst of all it’s expensive. We paid the same as we paid for the best place in town at the top of the street next to the hotel the night before. I assume the raclette is ok but it’s hard to mess that up. Sorry but this place needs a reboot.

Good restaurant with a nice atmosphere (cheesy smell though). Food is good (very good bbq ribs!), waiters are decent and prices are quite expensive but just like everywhere here. We had a hair in the melted cheese and the profiteroles are not home made (we asked) so 4 stars.

A lovely restaurant! Some of the best alpine specialties we’ve had. We had a fondue and a pierre chaud. Both were excellent, as was the accompanying wine.

Was off to a rocky start. Had a 9:30 reservation but arrived and were told to come back in 15 mins. Slow to take our order and felt chaotic and busy. Service was fast once our orders were taken but couldn’t help but feel that this was to get us in and out as quickly as possible. Skiing as part of a student group but got the impression that this may have affected the service, which was a shame as this was our ‘grown up’ night out and it is an expensive meal out. As one of us commented, we got the impression that they felt they were doing us a favour by having us, rather than treating us like customers. Once food arrived, things calmed down and the atmosphere improved greatly through the evening. Food was delicious, well presented and very good portion size! However, they did run out of bread for the fondue (this turned out not to be an issue as our group was eventually defeated by the shear amount of cheese!). Again, service was overly fast with plates being cleared while some of us were still eating, so felt we were being rushed. Overall, good food and location but need to improve sticking to reservation timings, not rushing service and showing customers the same respect regardless of age, etc.

A dissapointing experience. Booked 3 weeks ahead to make sure of a reservation. When we got to avoriaz we checked the reservation at the restaurant to find there was none. The service from the waiter and waitress was above average but the food was below par. 3 of us ordered ribs. 2 were cold and the sizes of the meals were inconsistent. When the temperature issue was raised they warmed the original dish, ruining the fries, rather than cooking fresh Desert seemed OK. I will not be able to return unfortunatly

We asked for a reservation by phone. They confirmed the reservation and at the time of arrival they did not respect the reservation. They try to call us to let us know they will not respect the reservation, but no notification was shown on my phone. They did not provide any solution besides a sorry we are book and we are not going to serve your party. We were not late. Reservation was at 7 and we arrive on time.

Always good to take friends and family to Le Chaudron - Vincent & Sandy + team make you feel like their friends and family! Food excellent, location great, busy because they are doing a great job, but not too busy they can't look look after you! 6 stars!

Lunch is Chaudron is amazing. It serves a lovely variety of traditional mountain dishes and there’s a slow cooked beef dish which should not be missed. It’s one of my favourite restaurants on the mountain. Sandrine and her team are always very welcoming. Wise to book in advance!

Super friendly and glamorous owner, and they also had a huge fluffy dog running around. Great location in the middle of the 'goat village'. Menu includes vegetarian and potentially vegan options - we did not eat, but checked out the menu

Freindly and stunning place with a terrasse where you can eat, have a drink with nature. I highly recommend it. You must come up and the goats basking in the midday sun.

This was recommended to us. The owner is probably the most friendly French lady I have ever met. Very nice and welcoming to everyone. However they served little canapés to what seemed to be 'returning' custom and not us. The food was impressive and large my lasagne with reblecholn was lovely. My husband had steak. He was a little disappointed as nothing had been seasoned. Overall I give it 4 star for this reason.

This restaurant is close to the gondola lift, and has a vast array of different foods on the menu. The pizza is delicious, the poke bowl is also very good. The prices are reasonable for the area. The seating is very cramped when busy, which seems like all the time. The restaurant is popular, however it makes for uncomfortable seating and a very loud atmosphere. If the seating was better spaced with larger tables it would be better. Overall ok, not the best but definitely good.

Situated just at the end of the blue run, at the top of Prodains Express, it's a busy stop over for skiers. The menu has quite stand offering of pizza, burgers, chips, pasta etc. I had the chicken burger which was quite nice. There's ample outdoor space. The toilets are upstairs which in ski boots can be a bit if an effort to get to :)

Hmm. It looks great from the outside but ended up feeling like we were just another customer amongst hundreds each day. Sullen and disinterested waiter, prices above average, and food ok but nothing particularly notable. The queue for the toilet was so long that we couldn’t use it, and had to use the public toilet outside instead. If you have a choice, try somewhere like Mamo’s Cafe in Lindarets— super friendly, delicious food, attentive service.

Meh, not that great quality but the portions are huge. The service is nice and the waited pretty quick. Good for a quick bit but do not expect to have a crazy experience. We loved this restaurant for lunch. Great options for bigger meals, kids meals, salads and pizzas. It can obviously get as big busy at lunch to get a table, but once sat down and ordered, the food arrived quickly. We ate here two days in a row because it is such a good option to please everyone. The Catalan pizza was a favourite among our group.

It was okay but we ordered pizza and it took some time to arrive to us. The pizza crust was a bit black but the taste was good. The prices are vert high as you cannot get under 18€ for a main dish and a salad would cost you at least 13€. The tables and chairs weren't very comfortable. For a pizza it was of normal size.If you take a dessert your bill can come up to 30-50€ per person. There are a few slots for skis but if you come at peak hours you may not find space .

Extremely busy time of year between Christmas & New Years Eve, most places are fully booked. They kindly gave us a table for 3 we had Raclette, wine, meat board it was amazing and we could not finish it. Thanks also great service, switched to English for us not a problem and would highly recommend.

Service was fast, although we did have a small delay as our pizzas were sent to the wrong table at first. Food was excellent, and the portion sizes were great.

We spend here the Bastille day evening, it has a great atmosphere, and the food is tasty. We had the burger, 3 formage pizza, italian pizza, chicken curry, and a green salad. The best dish was the pizza. From the desserts we liked the chocolate cake and the ice cream.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! ESPECIALLY IF YOURE ENGLISH! extremely rude staff , the dishes are very small considering the amount they cost! I ordered the meat platter , I was told it was different cooked meats served with chips and feeds two people, this cost around 72eruo. The plate arrived with raw uncooked meats to which we was not told and was given a stone to cook them on. The portion was only enough to feed a child, no way was this meant to feed two hungry adults. The stone was cold due to no flame, I requested about 4 times if they can light me burner so I can cook my food, each time them rudly saying yes and walking away. 45mins later and hungry I asked to speak with the manager, as I have still not been able to eat my dinner I requested a refund and for the food to be taken away. The manager then proceeds to aggressively tell me that I am going to eat it and he is not taking it of the bill. I then said we'll I'm not eating it and I'm not paying. He starts shouting at threatening to call the police!. We was with a group of 13 people and every one of our group had a different issue. We then went upto the manager at the bar and tried sorting some discount for all the inconvenience, shocked to see another 5 or so people in the que also complaining and saying how they have been threatened with being told the police will be called. Genuinely the worse restraunt and service I have ever seen in my life. Save the disappointment and go else where.

We visited last night and were very disappointed with the experience. The service was extremely poor — the waiter was rude and unhelpful throughout. The food was also below average. I ordered the French onion soup, and it tasted nothing like the traditional version — completely off. Overall, not a place I would recommend. Definitely not worth the visit

Alessio & Cecile + team for their 3rd winter season providing a little bit of Italy in the French Alps. Great location, just beneath Linderets (The Goat) village proper, next stop Ardent & Montriond cabin back up to Linderets bowl. Have eaten both inside and out, homely and warm inside and if the sun is shining non-fussy, functional tables outside. The fuss or rather attention to detail, is kept for the simple, but beautiful flavours and service with a smile- defo one for the lunch list. Bravo & Grazie mille!

We ate here 3 times in a week because the food is so good. Also the best vin chaud I've ever had. Pizza is out of this world.

Perfect place for lunch! We were there on a very sunny and warm day, it was perfect sitting outside by the slopes. The waiter was really nice. And the food delicious - the pizzas are really good! Good wine list. Was a little disappointed with the hazelnut moelleux. But definitely somewhere we would come back and recommend to our friends.

Definitely the best burgers in Avoriaz, and well priced too! The only issue is that they close at 1600 every day, which is a shame. Still epic burgers and great service too. Highly recommended!

Solid place for lunch on the slopes no messing about. Simple but delicious and gets the calories in.

Good burger joint just off the slopes with really good dietary options, veggies , vegan, and gluten free! Have to say my burger was a bit on the raw and cold side even for France so took it back in and they cooked it more but were quite off when I asked and no apology …. Always busy, on the pricy side this year (been coming for 4 years) but positions are decent and it’s all fresh

The overall experience at Changabang was excellent! When we got there, we found a table very quickly. When we ordered, the staff were very polite and friendly. Our drinks (which we went up to get first) were of very good quality. Food was ready for us to collect within about 15 minutes (for 4 burgers, 2 curly fries with cheese and a bowl of nachos). The food itself was very tasty and good quality. The vibe at Changabang was very warming and welcoming. The music was very good as well. Overall, I would highly recommend Changabang not just for its amazing food.

Chang bang is a very good place to sit and have a quick coffee or a small bit of food. Chang bang is very easy to get to sense it right beside a chairlift and slope. The person was very nice and polite who served me. The food and coffee prices are the only downside Chang bang as every thing is expensive

Changabang Restaurant in Avoriaz is a breath of fresh air amidst the abundance of fried foods and pizzas on the slopes! Offering fantastic healthy food options, it's a haven for those seeking something different. The ambiance is always lively with great music, and the service is top-notch. As vegans, we appreciated the effort, but clearer vegan options on the menu would make the experience even better. Nevertheless, Changabang is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious and wholesome meals in the French Alps!

The food was excellent. Good quality of the typical products. The service was excellent, all the members of the staff were really friendly. The local is small but cozy. It gets crowded quickly and they don’t book tables in advance so it’s better to get there first time. The kitchen opens at 19:00 but you can have a drink at the place before. We enjoyed our evening a lot.

Fantastic prime Rib! Ordered with a friend, we couldn't finish it (1kg!). You need to book in advance, we were able to find a spot for 6 days later. Service was ok, but not in par with the food.

Cosy place, pleasant staff and the food was simple but done well. I had a lovely Tartiflette, the lardons were particularly good, and my wife had lamb shank which she also enjoyed. I would constructively suggest the dessert menu could include perhaps a creme brulé/creme caramel and a tart based dessert as the choice was a little limited. Overall though, I would go again if I were in Avoriaz for longer.

Eat here every time I go and ski in Avoriaz, be it with the boys or wife! The food is very good and the wine list is decent for lunch. This time I had the pork belly and it was fantastic! Service is ok. When you sit inside it’s super traditional and warm while outside has heaters and is covered in bad weather.

I was only introduced to this gem this season with friends who've been coming back for years - regulars! I'm now delighted to be passing introductions to more friends. We arrived at the end of service, but still a friendly welcome with a great spot for a late lunch in the sun. Cracking burgers (the Jacksons) and possibly the best celtic pancakes on the mountain! Reasonably priced, too. c. €11-15 for a burger (not the double Jackson! ;-)) and smile back, and you just might get a jenapi 😉 This is a family business with owners of 15 years & parents Bengt & Ginny with daughter Margot + fiancé Thibault running around with Aurelien to keep you happy! Nice restaurant with affordable prices for tasty food. It’s located right nearby the slopes so you could have a drink or lunch while riding. They do good burgers and sweet crepes.

It was our favorite place in the ski resort! I saw that some people loved this place so much that they came several times during the week! Great service! We will come back for the next season❤️❤️❤️

I order croute and it was all smashed and not well done at all ! It was clearly not fresh food at all ! They did not do anything to change my dish while there was clearly an issue … very disappointed. Because the man waiter with his hat was wonderful ! The lady much less and did not do anything…

Service was terrible, no cutlery was offered, the hot chocolate was a joke, just a halt of a cup, and the guy that served it stole a marshmallow and ate it. The food was terrible as well, the burger didn't taste fresh, stale bun. The onion soup was just a bunch of boiled onions with some bread and cheese on top. I couldn't eat that thing, and they did nothing about it, not even noticing that it was almost untouched. Everything was extremely expensive, and I left hungry and disappointed.

Delicious burgers and a beautiful restaurant, it's got nice space in here which makes it better than the other restaurants around as there's actually space to move. Good quality beef and beer. Delicious, I highly recommend it for people that want a quick bite to eat for lunch.

Had a great lunch at La Poya in an attempt to escape the blizzard who squeezed us in last minute. We had the Thai tartare (pictured), normal steak tartare (which comes deconstructed), a steak and a burger. The entrecôte steak was reasonably priced and the frites were *chefs kiss*. All were very tasty, good portion size and the service was quick and attentive. Also recommend the coffee with selection of house desserts!

Great stop for lunch, food was excellent and a a decent size, atmosphere was busy but quint with it and the price bit too bad. Can get very busy to eat inside, well worth a visit for early or late lunch. The outside is quite large and in a good position when entering avoriaz

Decent food. Dreadful service. Useless if vegan. Ordered salad with cheese removed for one vegan guest, but they added cheese sauce and parmesan shavings.

Possibly the worst service on the mountain but the best French onion soup ever…. You wait a while, don’t expected glasses and cutlery given to you. Slightly more expensive than other places

Four of us visited on 3 March 2023, good location and it was very busy but we waited for a table. We all ordered the plat du jour that was recommended. However, the piece of steak I received was thin and burnt to a crisp, covered with sauce probably to help disguise how overcooked it was. Their chef should have been embarrassed to send out the plate. The other three in our group were lucky to receive slightly thicker, juicier cuts that were not burnt. Food is good but we were sitting for over 30 minutes with no one coming to take our order. We flagged down the waiters multiple times and they said they'd be with us. Just be prepared to spend close to 2 hours here w the service times.

We waited for more than an hour for a simple croque monsieur & quiche but never got anything served. In the end we walked away hungry. The tables around us had the same problem. Even worse, we didn't even get any glasses for our drinks (I'm not kidding). No small bite (some bread, anything?), no apologies, ... while we kept on waiting. We talked to the owner: he didn't care one bit. I guess in this location, the same amount of money flows in while offering horrible service. Don't go here, even (or especially) if you're terribly hungry.

Literally had to shout to order meals and drinks for 11 people. However, I will say the burger was delicious and the rose was exquisite! Really lovely lunch. Please pay attention to your customers next time.

Frustrating restaurant. The setting is nice, service at the table, good choice of decent food with homemade dessert and the interior is nicely decorated with a fireplace. The service is terrible though. We waited a long time for the main dish and could not order a dessert because none of the waitresses would do it... The pressed orange juice is a scam: 6€ for 1/4 glass of orange juice including 2 massive ice cubes... We complained about the service and the boss offered us 2 shots of pear alcohol.

Hidden away behind another restaurant, this place has its advantages. Service was a tad bizarre: a meet&greet server took my order, then immediately passed it on to another server. My order was delivered by a 3rd. Service was otherwise ok. The spag-bol was pretty mediocre, with insufficiently drained pasta, and one of the least bolognaisy sauces I've had, and covered with way too much grated cheddar-like cheese (not parmesan). The bowl had two decorative smears of sauces (one orange, one brown), but i wasn't interested to taste them. That's just one dish, and the chef may have been in a hurry, so other dishes and/or days may be perfectly fine, but i just got the vibe this place was a bit laisser-faire, what with all staff being on the youthful side.

Amazing food and great service in this cosy getaway in the goat village. Perfect place to finish skiing and bed in for a serious French lunch. We had egg parfait, goat cheese salad and the most gigantic and beautifully grilled piece of steak in the world, on the bone with marrow and dauphinois and a huge eclair from the pudding table to finish 🤤🤤

Great restaurant in Village de Chevres that you can ski right up to (in season). All the fresh bread and desserts are on display as you walk in to get the taste buds excited. Very friendly service and, most importantly, delicious food!

Shocking experience!! First impression was very busy and didn't expect to get a table but there was additional spare tables through to the left of the restaurant which we were placed at with a steady flow of staff running around. Our waitress was very efficient in taking our drink and food order but that is the positives all past! 10 minutes to receive drinks which was acceptable due to volume of people but another 20 mins for our starters to turn up which was cold (2 x Calamari) and the caesar salad looked awful! The manager (presuming she strutted around with the clip board!) Looked like a headless chicken that was in zero control of the floor or kitchen and all staff were looking confused as she was on where to go next. After nearly 25mins the dishes were finally cleared off our table which we assumed meant the main course was about to be served, we sat for another 30 mins waiting watching what was going on in the restaurant and it was like a comedy sketch no-one knew what was going on, customers looking to complain others looking to pay the general chat in the restaurant was embarrassing at which point we decided to leave! I went to pay at the bar for the food we had received so far which in my view was not worth paying for but I feel you can only review a restaurant if you have actually paid for something! I really don't know what was going on, possibly the chefs had walked out or the manager had just lost control of the flow between the kitchen and restaurant. I think they should close half the restaurant and try to serve better quality food with a smile, give the chefs a chance! If you are looking for some good food and drinks with the family please go somewhere else, my recommendation would be Les Fontaines Blanches or Yeti. Absolute disgrace of a restaurant, Avoriaz please open another Italian restaurant as this tarnishes the reputation of Italian cuisine!

Great place for dinner in Avoriaz. Can't book in advance but if you put your name on the waiting list, you can go for a drink then will get a call when your table is ready. A mix if Italian and local food. Great and attentive service.

Amazing food and excellent service. We came in with a party of 7 for dinner and we ordered multiple pizzas - some of the best pizzas we have ever tried. The service was fast and friendly. I would definitely come back.

Do NOT stop here. We stopped here hoping to grab a quick coffee and to examine a knee injury. Not 5 minutes after sitting down at the open outdoor chairs, an angry employee (owner?) stormed out and cursed me out for “wasting the space” (there were MANY open chairs) and that the “chairs are not for resting”. I began packing up my things, and the angry man hovered over me, continuing to berate me until I left. Absolutely awful experience and a black mark on the mountain as a whole.

Best place in the region for a vegetarian burger. Great price, incredible presentation and unbelievable taste! The bun is gorgeous, with a crispy hash brown pattie, some delicious sauce and plenty of tomato and lettuce. The only thing that would make it better is having this menu in the winter too!

I have been more than once and I have to say that I like the concept of the Salle hors sac. The only problem is one of the guy (we think he is the owner) which is very rude. He might also have been right in some of the things we discussed about but there's always a way to expose them. For example today while I was using the free water to clean my pants he came screaming that I was wasting it. Again, you are right but you can maybe say politely. I don't think this kind of people deserve to work so I suggest to go somewhere else, by myself I am not going back.

Great place to stop for a vin chaud or lunch whilst skiing between avoriaz and chatel, a number of blue and red runs down. Along with here there are 4 or 5 other bars/resturants. Always enjoyed our stops sat at tables or in deck chairs.

Perfect place for a lunch on the slope. The beer is probably the best I've ever had. The burgers are the best by far. I can't wait to get back there in February.

Good supermarket for all your necessities if you are self catering. The prices are very competitive given the usual in resort costs. Can get very busy at times though which doesn't help as I never saw more than 2 members of staff manning the tills.

Been here lots of times. The staff are aways friendly. A great evening's entertainment of games after a day on the piste. The food was suprisingly good. Good family atmosphere. One of the best bars and nights out we had in Avoriaz. They've got bowling, pool, arcade games, plenty of seating and good beer!! I saw a few comments on here that had a disappointing score and comments. They made me nearly not come. But it was great. We came with two families, kids from 2yo to 12yo. They were well catered for. And I should say the food was good too. I got the chicken bucket on two occasions. Was really succulent - fresh chicken, not that processed rubbish. The kids got hotdogs and they were well eaten. Don't miss a friendly night out here... Thanks to all who served us.

Wow!! We ate here numerous times throughout our holiday - amazing food and fantastic service. Easily some of the best food I've had, and I tried the majority of the menu! Couldn't recommend it enough!

Absolutely love this place, was only in Avoriaz 4 days, but ate there three times. Kids loved the pizza, us the Yeti burger. The staff were incredibly friendly and just top off a great offer.

Fantastic place for burgers. The patty was juicy/nicely cooked to medium, not too salty and the buns were light and soft. Much better than Honest burgers imo. Pizza was fine, light crispy base, not too cheesy like your typical French pizzas but the burgers are much better value for money here. All other restaurants serve the same typical menu!! Nice to go for a (slight) change here on a week's stay in Avoriaz. Outdoor seating only but with heaters and great for piste basher spotting in the eve.
