Italian restaurant
Pizza Takeout
Grampi’s Bar & Restaurant is a cozy and charming Italian eatery located in Zermatt village, offering authentic Italian cuisine in a comfortable setting. The restaurant's kitchen stays open until 1 am, serving freshly made pizzas from a wood-fired oven and featuring a decent vegetarian menu. A highlight of their offerings is the 'Raclettissima' pizza, which combines raclette cheese with onions and gherkins in the shape of a pizza.
As a New Yorker, I have had my share of excellent pizza. However, when near the Italian border, I knew I had to try the best pizza places in the area since I’ve always loved Italy’s pizza when I’ve been lucky enough to be in the vicinity. It did not disappoint. I had spicy salami and pineapple on my pie and it was super tasty. The vegetarian lasagna was enjoyed (though surprise there are peas in it in case that bothers you). The osso bucco was deemed ok not great. Wine was excellent and the restaurant is in a lively location in the main drag in zermatt.

Delicious authentic Italian food with homemade noodles! I had the fusilli which I wasn’t expecting to look like what it did but it tasted amazing. We walked in without a reservation and had no issue with seating. It’s located in the heart of Zermatt so it’s easy to get to from most anywhere. We sat outside on the balcony. There’s not really a good view of the mountains as homes block the view and you face south. But that’s alright when the food is good.
Aliza B — Google review
Cute little restaurant. Excellent service. Ordered fusilli with Mediterranean vegetables and cannelloni. The cannelloni was very very good. It was so creamy, really liked it. Would love the recipe!! Could’ve used a little more tomato sauce. Fusilli with Mediterranean vegetables was nothing spectacular. I wouldn’t get that again. Ordered a coupe Denmark for dessert and it didn’t have a lot of the hot chocolate sauce like I’m used. I would eat here again, but I would order different things. we made reservations. The restaurant was crowded.
Lisa L — Google review
The food portions are huge and totally worth the price. Everything was super tasty — especially the pizza and ribs! 🍕🍖 You can book directly via Google Maps, and I recommend requesting a window seat for a cozy dinner view. The restaurant opens at 6 PM, so it’s best to make a reservation in advance.
Memee P — Google review
We had an enjoyable dinner at Grampi in Zermatt. The meal included bruschetta, spinach & ricotta cannelloni, and carbonara. The bruschetta was well-prepared and attractively presented as a mixed trio with three distinct toppings, offering a creative twist on a classic starter. The spinach & ricotta cannelloni was excellent — rich in flavour, perfectly balanced, and cooked to ideal texture. The carbonara, while well-executed, was slightly too creamy for my personal preference, though those who enjoy a creamier style would likely find it very satisfying. Service was attentive and efficient, and the atmosphere warm and lively. The restaurant does get busy, which speaks to its popularity and consistent quality. Overall, Grampi delivers a thoughtful dining experience with well-crafted Italian dishes and professional service.
Prashant C — Google review
The best restaurant we visited in Zermatt We sat outside on a beautiful terrace. The service was excellent and very friendly. We only order dessert when everything before it has been satisfying – and the desserts here did not disappoint. Thank you for making our dinner such a lovely experience.
Neli T — Google review
I recently dined at Grampi's and was blown away by their AI Funghi Pizza and spare ribs! The pizza was a delightful blend of savory mushrooms and perfectly melted cheese, featuring a crispy crust that was simply irresistible. Each bite was bursting with flavor! The spare ribs were equally impressive—tender, juicy, and coated in a mouthwatering sauce that left me wanting more. The combination of smoky and sweet flavors was divine. The atmosphere at Grampi's is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual night out or a special occasion. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall fantastic experience. I highly recommend Grampi's for anyone looking for delicious food and a great dining experience! I can’t wait to return!

Northern Italian restaurant
Madre Nostra by CERVO is a top restaurant in Zermatt, Switzerland, offering a must-try Italian culinary experience. The restaurant boasts modern and classic Italian dishes prepared with fresh ingredients sourced from local farmers and fishermen. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the Matterhorn while savoring delicious homemade pasta, grilled meats, and fish dishes. The restaurant's incredible vibe complements the overall atmosphere at CERVO.
This Italian gem is a must-visit! The cozy ambiance sets the perfect tone for a beautiful dining experience. The food is simply incredible, with a carbonara so stunning it feels like a masterpiece. The champagne selection was equally impressive, perfectly complementing the meal. Add to that the attentive and excellent service, and you have a top-tier restaurant that leaves you wanting to come back for more. Truly a standout spot!
Romy E — Google review
Arguably the best meal in Zermatt. Not only is the restaurant located in the incredible CERVO hotel with stellar views of Matterhorn, but the food is also absolutely incredible. Service is friendly and excellent. The pasta carbonara? Insanely good.
Carter G — Google review
Some of the best food we had during our trip in Switzerland. Absolutely loved the pasta and the great wine pairings with local wines. The tiramisu is definitely a must. If you’re looking for a great meal with stunning Matterhorn views, look no further 🍝
Georgia K — Google review
The best food we had while in Switzerland! We ate here twice during our stay. The cocktails and desserts were delicious as well. Service was top notch, everyone was attentive and very helpful.
Kay ( — Google review
We tried so hard to like this place but it was hard. It was too fancy for us. It’s very expensive so we were expecting delicious food. However I got the ribeye and the truffle butter was extremely over salted. It ruined the steak for me. I also bought a 12 CHF side of truffle fries which were covered in Parmesan cheese. You could barely taste the fry itself. I’m giving it 4 stars because of the views and the atmosphere. They had live music playing which was a nice addition. This is definitely a fine dining experience so be prepared to pay for a full course meal. Nothing comes with anything. We came here because we saw online it was rated the number one Italian restaurant in Zermatt. I wouldn’t say that is true. I can recommend this place to anyone looking for a fine dining experience with money to spend and a rich taste. If you want more classic Italian dishes, look elsewhere. This place doesn’t offer any “normal” pasta dishes such as spaghetti Bolognese.
Aliza B — Google review
Such a beautiful day at a beautiful restaurant! We ate outside and it was so delicious! The service was exceptional and fast, and we would highly recommend getting the carbonara! For those from the US you can easily put down a large size ;)
Ally H — Google review
We had a wonderful dinner here! The atmosphere is wonderful and also the service! The food was also quite good! It could be better but ok. We mostly enjoyed the deserts! Because they were better executed and more tasty in comparison. Also overall the prices were good! So overall good experience!

Isabelle, our waitress was instructive , friendly and responsive. The food is splendid and the tiramisu is to die for. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic, perfect for a date night. Dress is casual for after ski dinner.

Pub
American restaurant
The Brown Cow Pub in Zermatt is a popular spot for a relaxed apres ski experience. It has a cozy pub atmosphere with sports on TV and a no reservations policy, making it challenging to find a table. However, there are usually seats available at the bar or you can wait for a group to leave. The Post Hotel complex also houses five other bars and clubs, offering various atmospheres from live jazz to dancing on giant beer barrels.
All the food is delicious with good service and attentive staff. The restaurant is located below the hotel, making it convenient to get to. They play stylish music. Prices are expensive in typical Swiss style
Nishaaa I — Google review
Brown Cow is a great spot for a delicious chicken burger! My wife and I don't drink or eat red meat so the chicken burger was our primary choice and we were not at all disappointed! The burgers were delicious, reasonably priced, and the fries were hot and crispy. A great option for chicken preferrers! The atmosphere was also quite nice. The background music was not very loud so talking was easy. We were also pleasantly surprised by passing goats through town as we ate. This is a very clean and well kept establishment. The bathrooms/water closet are located in the back, up the stairs, and to the left also when you're inside as a patron.
Parker M — Google review
The service is very attentive but the burgers are just ok. The bun for the burger fell apart about halfway through so they need to do a better job roasting the bun or picking a better bread to make the burger. Overall was good and would absolutely give it another go.
G M — Google review
This place was hopping....which is usually a good sign. Seat yourself, server was spunky and fun. I had the Zermatter burger and fries....really, really good. Beef was juicy and toppings fresh and plentuful.
Craig S — Google review
Friendly service from the step through the door. Food great quality and quick service. Drinks offers available. It's busy for all of the above reasons.
Si M — Google review
Delicious food!! Excellent soup and burger. The restaurant pub is super cute, good music and seating. Service is great! Also, convenient when it comes for prices. Very good 😁
David C — Google review
Missed the lunch window as most kitchens closed by 1:45 PM, so we ended up at this pub—and what a happy accident it turned out to be! Their Zamatt Beef Signature Burger absolutely blew me away. The beef patty was perfectly seared on the outside, yet juicy and tender inside. Add crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a generous serving of thick-cut fries, and you’ve got a winner. I also spotted Baileys coffee on the beverage menu and asked if it could be served cold—the staff happily obliged, and it was fantastic. If you're a burger and Baileys kind of person, this spot is a must-visit. You won’t be disappointed.

We stayed 2nights but came here 3times. Have to say excellent food but good price. Very nice place to chill with the One you love!!! Highly Recommend: Gulaschsuppe, Famer's Chichen Salat, Swiss Burger, Zermatter Vital Salad and of course Cardinal Bier.

Swiss restaurant
Alphitta is a charming restaurant located in Riffelalp, accessible via the scenic Gornergrat train. The eatery offers delicious cuisine with daily live music on the terrace, weather permitting, and boasts stunning views of the Matterhorn. Visitors can enjoy Swiss dishes like Rosti while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
Ok, long review incoming but we visited Alphitta today and honestly, it completely blew us away. From the moment we arrived, the views over the Alps and the iconic Matterhorn were absolutely breathtaking - you could sit there all day and never tire of it. The food was out of this world. I had the pork belly and it was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten - perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The wine selection was fantastic too and paired so well with the food. A huge part of what made the experience so special was Dave and Tanya, who run Alphitta. They were wonderful… welcoming, attentive, and so knowledgeable with their recommendations. It really felt like visiting friends rather than just going to a restaurant. And their gorgeous dogs were such characters and such a joy to be around! We sat outside to soak up the sunshine and those incredible views, but the inside of Alphitta is just as special.. beautiful, cosy, full of charm and character. You can tell a lot of love and care has gone into every detail. Alphitta isn’t just a restaurant - it’s a whole experience. We’re already planning how we can come back because it’s somewhere that stays with you. If you’re in the area (or not!), make the trip as you don’t want to miss it. Absolutely unforgettable.
Georgia S — Google review
This place is a gem!😍 It was recommended by multiple locals from the Zermatt town. I arrived the restaurant a bit late (4-ish pm) so they could only serve salad/ dessert. I ordered a glass of local beer, salmon salad and an apricot cake. All of them are in large portion and tasted super delicious! They have excellent view of the Matterhorn mountain and the owner, Dave, is very nice. Direction: You can drop off at the Riffelalp station if you are taking the Gornergrat cogwheel train. Walk for 5-10 minutes along the trail and you will find the place.
Jennifer Y — Google review
This place is the most amazing spot to eat in the Alps. No joking, if you skip this you are truly missing an experience like no other. We happened to stop on our trip and are so glad we did. We sat in the corner and just stared out at the Matterhorn for I don't know how long. Dave was great to talk to and he had so many great stories of the region. The food was great as well and average prices for the region. Don't miss this place.
D T — Google review
Unbelievable stop during our hike!! Food looked absolutely fantastic. We got the fondue (which tbh I think I just hate fondue) but everything everyone else got around us looked unreal. Staff was awesome, sun was shining. One of our favorite stops all trip
Kate C — Google review
We first visited Alphitta 9 years ago. It left a lasting impression on us and we just had to come back. The food is amazing, great vibe and Tanja (the owner) is great at building a relationship with her clients. We will visit again if we are ever back in Zermatt. The puppies wondering around are very sweet
Gosia S — Google review
We ordered the crispy belly pork and lamb — both were perfect! The gravy had a beautiful aroma of herbs, with hints of garlic. It came with mashed potatoes topped with some sweet slices (I’m not sure what they were, but the sweetness paired perfectly with the rich gravy). At the end, we heard the apple cake here was a must-try… and oh yes, it’s goooooooood! We couldn’t believe we finished it all 😂 The two owners are so caring and full of life. From the moment we stepped inside, they welcomed us as if we were old friends. And the other two little “owners” — their adorable dogs — made the experience even more heartwarming. Alphitta is a must !
Pithchicha ( — Google review
I finally had the opportunity to visit Alphitta 😍 and it was the best choice to enjoy the day. It was even better that what I imagine. The perfect place to enjoy the stunning Matterhorn, eat the most tasteful food and deserts (a big explosion of flavors as I told to my friend)! Dave and Tanja are amazing and very nice, the atmosphere it’s perfect, and you have the best company of Dave’s dogs. I will come back for sure
Bruna S — Google review
Yet another awesome restaurant in the middle of the ski resort. I enjoyed this pork belly which was crispy and tender, served with perfect mashed potatoes and gravy. Our group ended lunch with bombardinos and, finally, a decent apple strudel. I've been ordering apple strudel for years and this is the one that finally was up to my standard!

Restaurant
Nestled within the charming CERVO, the Bazaar by CERVO is a vibrant culinary haven that draws inspiration from Eastern markets. This unique venue offers an immersive experience with its focus on 100% vegetarian dishes, featuring a delightful array of mezze and traditional recipes that transport your taste buds to far-off lands. The Bazaar emphasizes sustainability by sourcing organic ingredients locally whenever possible.
First of all the place is so incredibly cool and Zen. The ambience is a very cool Swiss mountain chalet meets tent in the Moroccan desert. We had the tasting menu and it was absolutely extraordinary. I typically don’t eat meat. They had so many vegetarian offerings, however, I understand as a couple fantastic need offerings as well. The dessert, the baklava is the best I’ve ever invented yet traditional. And of course, the drinks are fabulous.
Eric M — Google review
Bazaar in Zermatt offers a fantastic dining experience with flavorful dishes and a vibrant atmosphere. The mezze platter was the clear highlight — an abundant spread of dips and sauces that were both varied and delicious, accompanied by plenty of fresh, tasty pita bread. The restaurant also has a strong gin selection, which pairs nicely with the food. Not everything hit the mark — some of the fusion-inspired dishes felt less successful — but the overall quality of the food, friendly service, and energetic ambience more than made up for it. If you’re looking for a place in Zermatt with excellent Mediterranean-style sharing plates, great drinks, and a lively vibe, Bazaar is a great choice.
Rahul A — Google review
Lunch there for 2 people Nice selection of wine by the glass Nice view on the mountains and a contemporary cozy interior. Limited options for lunch ..we picked the burgers. I was disappointed by the food .40 euros for a burger .10 euros for a small portion of fries. I don’t care about the prices. But if it is expensive, could they at least try to make tasty and well prepared? Better options in Zermatt IMO. I won’t be back.
Christopher C — Google review
Service and atmosphere were great but food was incredibly mediocre. We ordered mediterranean course menu (FLEXITARIAN) but dishes were repetitive. Two out of five dishes were just straight out just bread and they kept serving us carbs, lacking any nutrient balance. Notably, only meat in this course menu was chicken in butter chicken curry, which tasted very mediocre (butter chicken we had in Matterhorn up in the mountain was better than this). Pricing is only justified by the overall atmosphere and view, in addition to the fact that there was a apres-ski going on right outside that may offer more convenience. Chefs here need to work harder on serving a better quality food.
Sae — Google review
This was a very fun and well designed restaurant. The service was also very wonderful, but the server did drop my drink on me, and a couple other drinks while we were there. 4 stars because the food and drinks were just OK, while being very expensive. We got a lamb dish, which was roughly $70 USD. We were told that the portion was very large, but it wasn’t actually a lot of food (shallow dish). Flavor was somewhat bland, especially the salad, unfortunately. The drink list was very unique which I enjoyed, but the drinks weren’t very strong or flavorful and they were expensive. Overall, loved the atmosphere and we really enjoyed that they brought us a game of chess to play on the table, but the food and drinks weren’t quite worth the price.
Marissa A — Google review
Wow, what a letdown of an experience and expensive. Everything, I mean, EVERYTHING was under-flavored. If you're going to model your restaurant after the silk road and its spices you better know how to use their spices. A wholly bad flavor experience. The mezze platter was really mediocre. The dim sum was actually decent. The butter chicken and eggplant tagine were not suggestible. The service was actually incredibly slow. It took them forever to get us our ordered bottle of wine. Then we had to ask for our naans that they forgot to bring out and we saw the naan get made and literally sit on the counter as we couldn't get anyone's attention to serve us our naan. I highly suggest you don't waste your money here. I'm shocked it is so well rated. The only thing that was good were the fries.
Raj S — Google review
Excellent, diverse food you can’t really find elsewhere in Zermatt. The staff was extremely attentive to us and accommodated our baby in a high chair. The mezze and monks were quite good.
Andrew M — Google review
Bazaar was such a great restaurant! The menu is mostly vegetarian and they did so much with it. There is food from different regions of the world and it all goes together beautifully. When you go make sure that you are open to trying unique food because nothing will be what you expect. It will all be much much better. Especially the cardamom icecream dear god.

The North Wall Bar & Restaurant is a popular hangout for skiers, climbers, and locals in Zermatt. It's known for its affordable beer, legendary nachos, and create-your-own pizza option with a variety of toppings. The bar offers a laid-back atmosphere where visitors can enjoy craft beers at the bar before indulging in oven-fresh pizzas in the spacious dining room.
Hidden gem and our best meal in Zermatt. Amazing rooftop terrace to enjoy great food, service, atmosphere and sounds. We had the cheesy garlic bread and design your own pizza - all delicious 😋 Value for money is great. Would 100% recommend a visit here.

In the heart of Zermatt, Switzerland, lies saycheese!, a delightful restaurant known for its relaxed atmosphere and exceptional quality Swiss dishes. The young team's passion for cheese is evident in their carefully matured selection sourced from Valais cheese producers. While famous for its fondue and raclettes, the menu also offers a variety of options including fondue Chinoise.
Paula was fantastic!!! So kind and great with all the little kids we had running around! The food was exceptional, views were amazing, and atmosphere was so cozy and so fun!! 10/10 recommend!

Say Cheese is a place to go if you really want to sit down and enjoy a long dinner but for us, we wish we had passed. It’s very warm inside the restaurant so you’re sweating your entire meal. It took the sever several minutes just to take our drink orders. There was zero effort to welcome us, explain the menu to us, or even to ask if we had ever been before. Water is only available by purchasing expensive bottles of it. The food is ok, nothing that will change your life. The worst part of it all is the sever sets down about 6 desserts on our table (that we did not order) and says “these are for you, enjoy”, and quickly walks away. Us, not being familiar with the restaurant, assumed maybe this is part of the meal service. We took a few bites of two items (didn’t touch the other 4). The check comes and all six desserts are on the bill! I discussed this with the server and explained I didn’t even order dessert. She did remove the charges but the whole experience was off putting.
T H — Google review
The fondue was not yummy and overpriced. For one pot of cheese fondue and one dessert, it was $150. Nice ambiance but not worth it to us. The staff was pushy and kept asking us to order more things and wine when we said no multiple times. also, $12 for. Bottle of water is outrageous.
Abby P — Google review
Reservation is recommended! Amazing Raclette and with plenty of fun cheese fondues to choose from, ranging from mild and to strong and intense. And it’s not just cheese; they also offer a great Fondue Chinoise if you’re in the mood for something different. The starters and soups are excellent too. I had the lentil-barley soup, and honestly, it’s one of the best soups I’ve ever had, absolutely delicious. Don’t forget to wines to make a full experience. They have nice local selections! The quality is top notch, and the service team is warm, welcoming, and genuinely heart-warming. I’d recommend this place to any of my friends looking for a cozy, high quality dining experience. And it’s an open kitchen! You can interact with the chefs which are super cool!

The warm goat cheese salad was Amazing and my husband loved the lentil soup. It was our first experience with cheese fondue and we decided we weren’t really fans. It was pretty pricey for what we ordered. However it was the Swiss Experience. Staff was friendly and service good. The ambiance was nice however it does have a very strong cheese smell . Kind of off putting.

Upscale restaurant with a cosy atmosphere, focusing on regional products and ingredients. Fondue was absolutely delicious, especially the crispy bits at the end. Service was nice and friendly but it could be a bit faster.

Not an easy place to find, it is located in Grand Hotel Zermatterhof. Need to walk down a few flights of stairs to start enjoying your lovely meal. Please is nicely decorated and all their staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Able to ensure you will have a wonderful dinner experience. By default the cheese fondue is a must try and you can dip almost anything in it. Highly recommended!!!

If you love a fine, semi-mature cheese fondue, this restaurant is not for you. You have two choices mild and very mild. Gluten-free bread is a warm, closed bag of sponge. Just gross. The waiter stood behind my husband during the payment of the bill and did not avert his eyes when my husband entered the pin code. A huge "NO-NO" The service was friendly, if rather pushy. Ambience was the only good point.

Le Gitan Grill is a family-run restaurant in Zermatt, offering an unforgettable dining experience for special events like birthday parties and holiday celebrations. The chef specializes in preparing flavorful roasts over a wood fire in the candlelit main dining room. The restaurant also features an old-fashioned cafe for relaxation after a day on the slopes.
Excellent overall, one of the best dinners in Zermatt. The lamb was exquisite. The beef kebab was good, was a bit overrated. The entrecote was the right temp and very tasty. Good to see everything grilled on charcoal fire.

I had the best experience in Le Gitan Grill. Food was delicious, supreme service that was going above and beyond to make clients happy. I regret I couldn’t go back there next day as I had to leave Zermatt but I will be back next year to try their steak this time, as it looked amazing. Fantastic team of people working there From host at the door through waitress to grill chef. Thank you for this lovely experience.

We had a lovely dining experience with delicious food and fantastic service. We recommend the steak and potatoes with the homemade ice cream sampler for dessert. A top 5 all time dining experience

Best meal we had in Zermatt and we went to 7 different restaurants. This is definitely worth more stars. The meat is grilled to perfection. I had the chicken and it was sooo delicious and juicy! They give you second servings of potato au gratin. So good.

Great food and great service. Our waiter Antoli gave great wine recommendations and all of their special were top tear. I recommend finishing your dinner with the mango crème brûlée.

Outstanding service, refill gratin potato ( sublime), lovely music in the background, meat dishes are straight from the grill, entrecote medium costs same the price everywhere in Switzerland, correct prices, absolutely recommended + child friendly (we were with pur 11-15 yrs old boS)

The food was delicious, and staff were very accommodating even though we came in only half an hour before their kitchen closed, they were still able to serve us. Definitely would come back (much earlier) if I’m ever in Zermatt again!

During our recent trip to Zermatt, we had the pleasure of dining at Le Gitan eatery, and it was a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish crafted to perfection. The cheese fondue, made with local cheeses, was a highlight, offering a rich and creamy taste that we thoroughly enjoyed. The burrata appetizer was uniquely prepared and incredibly flavorful. Service by Gonçalo was excellent; he went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. The mountain weather was refreshing and pleasant, allowing us to sit outside. As the evening grew late and cooler, Gonçalo thoughtfully provided a blanket to keep us warm, adding a cozy touch to our meal. We also tried a local red wine that was an absolute hit, complementing our dishes perfectly. The main courses were outstanding—each item, from the pasta with lobster tail to the pork, chicken, and fish, was freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. Le Gitan is a little gem in the heart of Zermatt, offering exceptional food and top-notch service. It’s easy to miss as it is so small, but we highly recommend it for a delightful dining experience.

One of the best places for a cheesy dinner. They have lot of options for everyone. From veggies, to cheese and meat. The staff is very friendly and the kitchen makes an amazing service. One of the places you should not miss if you pass by Zermatt.

Excellent experience overall. We were staying close to the center of the town so required a 10 minute walk to get there. Menu heavy on fondue and raclette. We had the raclette tasting menu which was amazing. Chocolate dessert was decadent. Excellent service. Highly recommend. Reservations strongly recommended during high season.

Probably one of the best fondue I’ve ever tried, they had flavored fondues. Great service as well and super cute decorations throughout the entire restaurant!

Wow - this restaurant is a gem. We visited in the summer - sat outside - and had great views. The Service was great - and we loved the food. We went with the cheese fondue - which was delicious (note - they have multiple option for cheese fondue - and we went with the classic version). We also found a great place for our 6 year old - they have a slide and kids play area. The slide is relatively long and fast - so after dinner, my son spent 20 minutes playing!! the slide is located at the level of Madre Nostre. Overall - I highly highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!!

Made an online reservation weeks in advance to ensure a table for our group. Considering this is mainly a raclette/fondue restaurant, we came out not smelling like cheese due to the great ventilation. We had three different fondue types — it is great to have an option of fondue for one person as most places have a two person minimum. The fondue flavors were all good and not too intense. Our black truffle fondue was a bit watery and needed more cornstarch — the team was able to comp our coffees as an apology. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Would come here again.

So, I kind of stumbled on this gem during my last night in Zermatt hoping to get some fondue before leaving the next day. Had randomly chosen the restaurant after a quick google search for suggestions. When I made it up to the restaurant and realized it was part of the hotel, I wasnt sure if I would be able to eat since I wasnt staying there. The restaurant staff did say it is hard to get in without a dinner reservation but that they would take me since they had a free table. I was absolutely blown away by the staff and the setting and the food. So hospitable and concerned about my interests in the food and obviously very passionate about their work. Had a small salad and some traditional fondue. It was my first time having fondue and I was not disappointed! Would 100% recommend this lovely place to anyone after some genuine, local Swiss cuisine. Hoping to come back with family someday! So appreciated being treated like family and an honored guest while there!! Thanks for making my first time trying fondue memorable!!

We had the fondue with truffles, the beef barbecue and the “head over heels” desert. The food was very good and our waiter, Marc, was just as amazing - attentive and very nice. I highly recommend this place in Zermatt if you want to eat really tasty traditional food.

Stopped twice, in the morning before hiking Oberrothorn and at 3pm after the hike. It's table service as we were informed. Coffees and croissants were delivered quickly. However in the afternoon, we were sitting at the table for 20 minutes and were completely ignored by staff. So got up and left. The waitress said thanks for visiting. Great views from the terrace and nice music, shame for the service.

Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni is a must-visit restaurant in central Zermatt, offering an authentic taste of Valais cuisine. This renowned establishment features a menu filled with cheese dishes and wood-fire grill specialties, making it the perfect spot for a post-ski meal. The restaurant's classical interior design and picturesque views create a unique atmosphere that perfectly complements its delicious offerings.
Great experience. They have 2 different menù, 6 courses each, we decided to combine them. Food was perfect. The service was great. The wines were awesome and well explained.
Raffaele B — Google review
The food was generally tasty, but surprisingly far too salty and got simpler. We’ve visited this restaurant several times, but sadly, it feels like things are going downhill. There used to be a great sommelier and lovely staff, and the wine pairing was one of our favourite parts of the experience. We even bought many of the wines they recommended in the past — but not anymore. This time, the wine pairing just wasn’t impressive. As for the food, aside from being overly salty, it lacked any sense of care or motivation. The dishes looked a bit sad. Overall, the experience didn’t have the same spark it used to.
Paul K — Google review
Wonderful evening enjoying a 6 course meal with perfectly paired wines by the sommelier. And they have an extraordinary wine list to say the least. Over 700 wines from the world over to pick from but I highly suggest that you try the Swiss wines as they will blow your mind. The chef and his team prepared two different gourmet menus to chose from. The staff was very friendly for a Michelin star restaurant which we welcomed. The sommelier took the time to explain each wine and why he paired it with the dish, making it very informative for wine lovers. Highly recommended. We'll be back.
Sebastien G — Google review
It was a fantastic dining experience. We chose local Swiss 6 course menu and it wowed us. The perch was perfectly cooked, the layers of flavour was amazing. All the wait staffs are professional, they are specialising in service and wine. They service cheese all produced in Switzerland. Will be back again. Thanks everyone for this absolutely fantastic evening. A highlight in my Zermatt trip.
Jennifer W — Google review
My experience was rather disappointing. Most of the food was mediocre, with the exception of one outstanding meat dish unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to redeem the overall visit. A major issue was the lack of transparency around pricing. Appetizers and digestives were brought out without any explanation, making it seem like they were included. Only later did I find out they were quite expensive. Interestingly, the cheese selection which was also presented without clarification was included, and genuinely enjoyable. This inconsistency felt misleading and left a bad impression. That kind of upselling tactic is something I really don’t appreciate.
Vladimir I — Google review
A terrible restaurant! I have no idea how it could possibly receive a Michelin one-star rating! During the meal, flies were flying around and even landed directly on the food. After informing the staff, they said this was a “normal situation,” refused to take any action, and even told me to just accept it. I immediately paid the bill and left. What an awful, lousy restaurant.

My Husband and I visited Restaurant Prato Borni on our honeymoon in Zermatt. Unfortunately I had broken my leg skiing during this trip and we were searching for nice experiences we could still enjoy together. We were so lucky to have the opportunity to visit Prato Borni. The dining room itself is stunning and we were lucky enough to be sat near the front window during and evening of beautiful snowfall. The staff could not have been more kind, helpful and accomodating of my slow mobility, even finding a little stool to rest my leg on. These things made our stay even more special. This is before even mentioning the food!! Wow, what an experience we were treated to by Chef Heinz Rufibach. We thorough enjoyed the Heimat menu which showcased the local Swiss cuisine and produce. Absolutely delicious. We had a magical evening dining at Prato Borni. After what had been a challenging time for us, this dinner was just spectacular. Would highly recommend due to quality of food and service.
The C — Google review
Exceptional and pro service and spotless dinning room with Swiss alpine feel. Unfortunately the food did not match that. Had the two tasting menus and each lacked luster. I took photos and attaching those to my review. Maybe the mains were ok; the rest of the meal was not. Disappointing experience and I don’t recommend. Zermatt might not be a gourmet dinning center and there are plenty of places that serve quality Swiss and international food with superb service.

Fine dining restaurant
Ristorante Capri is a top dining spot in Zermatt, located near the Swiss-Italian border. This restaurant stands out with its Michelin-starred menu featuring exquisite dishes like turbot cooked in a salt crust with champagne sauce and beef served with Neapolitan bitter chicory, offering an elegant taste of the Mediterranean. With 17 GaultMillau points, it's the only restaurant in Zermatt to hold a Michelin star.
My husband and I ate at hotel Capri for our honeymoon. It was absolutely impeccable. The food was all so flavorful. I’m gluten free and the chef had no issue accommodating. At one point I genuinely questioned whether my pasta was gluten free because it was so tasty. The best part of the entire meal was they brought us out a tiny cake and a lit candle to celebrate the birthday of our marriage. The waitstaff said it was Italian tradition to break the candle for good luck. What is remarkable about this is I only mentioned that we were on our honeymoon when I made the reservation, 2 to 3 months prior. So they made a note and remembered it all that time. We loved the staff and the atmosphere so much that we are wanting to plan a trip to visit the hotel in Italy.
Elaina P — Google review
Our dining experience at Ristorante Capri (1 Michelin star) was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, the impeccable service and warm hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The menu showcased exquisite Mediterranean flavors, skillfully crafted with premium ingredients and innovative techniques. Each dish was a masterpiece, both visually stunning and bursting with refined flavors. The attention to detail was evident in every bite – from the delicate seafood to the perfectly balanced sauces. Highlights included a sublime pasta dish, cooked to perfection, and a succulent main course that captured the essence of Italian cuisine while adding a modern twist. The desserts were a sweet symphony, providing the perfect conclusion to an extraordinary meal. To elevate the experience, we enjoyed a bottle of fine champagne, which perfectly complemented the flavors of each course and added a touch of celebration to an already exceptional evening. With breathtaking views, flawless service, and a menu that celebrates culinary artistry, Ristorante Capri delivers an experience worthy of its Michelin star. A true gastronomic delight, perfect for those seeking a memorable fine dining experience.

Matteo and Francesco were amazing! They were incredibly knowledgeable about all the dishes, offering great recommendations and making sure we had a fantastic experience. Their attentiveness and friendliness added so much to our evening, and they even surprised us with two delicious desserts, which was such a lovely touch. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a starter, two pastas, and two mains, and it was more than enough. Every dish was perfectly prepared. The Swiss wine (red and white) were a standout, especially good and well-paired with our meal. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!

I have to give a star for the attentiveness & courtesy of the staff. But otherwise, I have no compliments to give. The food is not good. And certainly not worth the $440 we spent. Honestly I come home with the feeling that I have been robbed. I can cook more delicious and tasty food at home. I would not recommend to go to this restaurant and I have no clue how they managed to get a Michelin star.
David S — Google review
This is an Italian fine dining restaurant where you order your own dishes (either ara carte or course) but they serve you with small side dishes. These side dishes were very creative and added a nuanced, refined taste to the overall dining experience. In all honesty, their main pasta dishes were not that exceptional but I still appreciated their side dishes they brought along the way. The service was also pretty good, and we were able to finish our meals in a little over hour. Overall, I would come back again.

5 starts for this Michelin Star Restaurant. Matteo and Francesca served us throughout the night and words cannot express the attentiveness and kindness they had throughout the night. Bravo. And the food was amazing! I highly recommend to stop by and I look forward to stopping by their restaurant in Capri as well. If you’re visiting Zermatt, you must stop by this gem!
Laylay M — Google review
I came to this place on a friend's recommendation, and I didn't know much about the restaurant beforehand. However, I found that the overall food offerings were harmoniously delicious. Being a big fan of tomatoes, I was particularly pleased with every dish that included them. (and most of the dishes I ordered contained tomatoes)Among these, the breads served before the meal were absolutely top-notch, and the chicken breast was tender and enjoyable. (The whole chicken was served) The gnocchi was also great as the tomato cut through its richness, and the tomato-infused olive oil served with the bread before the meal was really fresh-tasting and paired well. The staff was generally friendly, but Ernesto the waiter was especially meticulous in explaining the ingredients and attentive in serving the guests. I think I will definitely visit this restaurant again in the future.

Tourist trap, do not eat here. Small plate from the salad buffet for 12.80 but got charged for a big plate priced at 18.90 as the salad was apparently stacked too “high”. Very dishonest business and unfriendly staff. Please avoid at all costs. Mediocre food at best. Pesto pasta was cold and bland - 19.90.

One of the two restaurants at Riffelberg, we stopped here for lunch after our hike from Rotenboden. Meals here are self service, meaning you pick what you want to eat and pay at the cashier. Don't expect quality food here as it's supposed to be a quick fix rather than a culinary experience. But the food and price are still decent, and fulfills its purpose. We ordered a pasta, soup and cake and they're all okay. There are also a lot of seats here and the outside seats offer a breathtaking view. Loved the experience.

Very popular with Asian (HK TW CN JP KR) tourists it seems, happened to visit when there were a couple of big tour groups dining. Very peaceful when they left. Food was excellent, the Swiss breed some happy cows. Splurged on the filet and lobster, thankfully they tasted great. Truffle fondue was good too. Not sure how this place matches up with other restaurants in bang for buck, since we spent a bomb (no taxes though), but at least the food was good.

The grill restaurant is known for serving a variety of expertly barbecued meats and side dishes that are sure to satisfy any appetite. With traditional table settings and professional service, this upmarket establishment provides a delightful atmosphere for enjoying grilled specialties such as meat, fish, and lamb cooked over a wood fire.
The staff and owner Armin were amazing, friendly and funny. Armin cooks the food on an open fire in the dining room. It was the best meal I had on my entire trip through France, Italy and Switzerland. I told our server my wife was interested in swiss wines and she helped her select one. As the meal started a new glass of different wine was delivered, Armin came over and explained that it was one he and friend make in St. Niklaus. At the end of the meal some complimentary deserts we given to us. I felt like I was dining at a good friends house. Can't say enough.

My wife and I enjoyed dinner here. The gentleman who cooked our dinner over an open fire is very nice and does a great job. My wife had foie gras and lamb chops with sides. I had the 4-course dinner with wine pairing. The starter was a plate of a wide variety of yummy food such as shrimp, smoke salmon, foie gras, thinly sliced prosciutto and beef and pickled onions, capers, etc. The soup was fabulous. The main course was steak with vegetables. The dessert was a sorbet with fresh fruit and a homemade liquor - all of which was very good with the wines served at each course.

We came across this restaurant after seeing the restaurant at Tradtional Hotel Julen was queuing. It was such an amazing experience 🥰 The staff were all very friendly and explained the menu to us. We had the Gourmet Plate which I didn’t quite get what was included just knew it was an assortment of things. When the plate came , wow!!!! It was pure delight !! Then we had rack of lamb and deer as main course. Both these meats were rare to come by when I’m from and the food was amazing! The entire dining experience was cozy and very enjoyable. We even had a guest who played on his harmonica for fun! Highly recommend giving this restó a try if you are in Zermatt!

I visited Zermatt for the first time with my boyfriend and a friend. We had the best experience at this restaurant! The female waiter who took care of us had great hospitality. She was cheerful and recommended the wine soup, which I had never tried before! It was very delicious. The master who grilled the meat came to our table (on the second floor) and treated us well. The atmosphere was so warm from the time we entered until the time we left, so we ended up staying for a long time. Zermatt is also a wonderful city, and I was impressed. I definitely want to come back here again. Thank you so much.♡

This was the best open-fire, meat dinner we've had. Our party of six (including one vegetarian) all had different plates and shared appetizers. Everything was great and we quickly started picking from each others meals. The amazing escargot is in a delicious garlic mushroom sauce instead of the typical shells-in-butter. Deer was tender and nicely seasoned, not gamey, and easy to appreciate. My friend had ribeye and I had sirloin and both were excellent. I always cringe when ordering steak so the open fire made me hopeful. I was not disappointed. Chef Gsponer visited the tables and shared bits of other foods (like a touch of spätzle to go with the escargot sauce). He was like the friend serving family dinner. We topped it off by sharing apple strudel which was very good, but the vanilla ice cream was great. Our server Mariana took great care of us. She shared info about the sourcing and preparation, and offered additional bites of foods (as if we needed to eat more) and she is a great spirit. The price is appropriate for the quality of the meal and atmosphere. The food, restaurant and people really come together for an exceptional experience.

Charming restaurant with friendly service. I usually steer clear of lamb, but after a delightful experience in Interlaken, I’ve started to develop a taste for it. This place truly reaffirmed my choice — the lamb was incredibly tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. So satisfying! Starters were just as good. Another great restaurant choice!

You can see the chef (owner) grilling your meat. The meat is nicely grilled and still juicy. It's situated beside the river. You won't miss it if you on the Green Lane bus. Bon appetite 😋

Restaurant Chez Heini in Zermatt is a one-of-a-kind experience not to be missed. The owner entertains patrons with his own Euro pop creations and a show, making it an unforgettable dining experience. The decor is described as Alpine S-and-M themed, adorned with glitter, statues, and a corner dedicated to the owner's friend Frida from ABBA. The menu features unique dishes like the Red High Heel Soup and juicy lamb chops.
Great dining experience! We tried several meat dishes, and they were delicious. The grilled lamb rack directly from the open-fire grill, and the fries were extraordinary. The desserts were delicious and all arrive with cotton candy. And Dan Daniell's life show was a pleasant surprise! It was a night to remember!

What a fun dining experience! The restaurants decor is very unique. The whole dining experience felt like a party. The food was excellent, and I highly recommend the lamb. They serve complimentary refills on the lamb and sides as well. Would definitely recommend this place to visitors of Zermatt.

Our experience at Chef Heini was deeply disappointing. The food was mediocre at best, but what truly ruined the evening was the manager’s behavior toward the wait staff. Throughout our meal, we witnessed him openly yelling at and arguing with his employees in front of customers, creating an uncomfortable and tense atmosphere. It was unsettling to watch and completely overshadowed the dining experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant, as no establishment should tolerate such treatment of its staff.
Meredith W — Google review
This was delicious one of the best meals we’ve had in zermatt. The lamb was out of this WORLD (leg of lamb & fillet were the stars) as well the polenta & fries Staff were so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great, we will definitely be back!

One of the best dinner experiences I’ve ever had. The food was amazing; the decor and ambiance were so unique, and everything had an interesting quirk to it. Our dinner was going long which worked out for the better, as we got to experience Dan Daniell serenading us for a few songs.

Had dinner here with a friend last weekend. The service was friendly without being over the top, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The food was cooked perfectly and the portions were fair for the price.

This place is a must-go. Not only is the food super good (don't go wrong and have any of the lamb dishes), the staff is very friendly and if you stay long enough, you'll get a very nice show. Dan Daniell 4ever

Tucked away in a small corner of town, Chez Heini was slightly difficult to find on foot. Arriving, we were pampered with excellent service - coat hanging, dedicated waiter, greetings by the owner, and treated to a unique gothic/medieval themed restaurant. Female waitresses with slightly revealing uniforms which they apparently like to flaunt 💁🏻 The menu was interesting. Presented as a stack of records which made it slightly difficult to hold. The format was incredibly hard to read. We gave up after struggling and went with their recommended 4 course menu. Appetiser was a choice of devil fish or foie gras. Devil fish was light with a touch of spinach and lemon - would recommend heavy eaters to skip this for the sliver of seasoning was largely missed by my family. We expected grilled foie gras but was disappointed by the cold, sandwich spread variety. Nevertheless, the combination of bread, foie gras spread, oven dried oranges and caviar surprised us with its depth of taste. Next came pea soup. Served in a red high heel shoe 😂 The novelty factor wore off pretty quickly though. The pea soup was direct and down to earth. Nothing particularly impressive, with the high heel obstructing our hand movements. Lamb was served in 2 different styles - ribs and fillet. The star of the show and the saviour of the menu indeed! Each lamb rack is personally grilled by Dan Daniall, the owner, and served fresh from the roast. Meat was succulent, flavourful and incredibly pleasurable to sink your teeth into. Would highly recommend the lamb racks be it a la carte or from the set menu! Dessert was ice cream, macarons, mousse, with a light touch of stylised candy floss. Extra points for the unique presentation! We were also graced with a performance by Dan Daniall, a local musical artist who can be quickly googled. Gave the atmosphere a different quality from the typical high class restaurants. Was a welcoming good cheer on Christmas Eve :) Servings are very large for Asians and ordering from the set meals would require a set per person. Do consider Ala carte should you not have a large appetite. Do book this restaurant very much in advance! Christmas Eve bookings require at least 3-4 months prior while New Year's Eve might require 1 whole year.

Loved everything about this restaurant - the food, ambience and the best service I had in Zermatt! So friendly, welcoming staff, it was a pleasure to dine here. They serve butter shaped like Matterhorn - such a cute detail. We had the onion soup, a salad and baked Camembert, and an amazing chocolate-apricot cake in the end. Wine was excellent too. A kid friendly place - they had crayons etc. Overall a huge recommendation! Merci!

Excellent restaurant. Food was unbelievably good. Small portion sizes. So I expect to order 4 of them if you are hungry…we sat inside but outside looks lovely. Everything they do has a nice charm. Staff are very courteous. Definitely the best food we eat in our Switzerland trip in the past 10 days.

We couldn’t have picked a better place to dine! The service was the warmest and friendliest we’ve experienced in Switzerland—genuinely welcoming and wonderfully attentive. The food was outstanding, with perfectly balanced portions and bold, consistent flavors in every dish. Everything was executed to perfection. We loved it so much that we immediately booked a reservation to come back!

Lovely restaurant. Very cozy place with great and very friendly service. All things we tried were extremely good. For this the price is quite ok. We paid 170 CHF with a glass of wine, Hugo, 2 appetizers, 2 mains and 2 desserts. Fully recommended.

Matterhorn’s Best-Kept Secret! Owned by a couple whose passion shines brighter than Zermatt’s stars, this intimate restaurant serves Alpine elegance on every plate. Why We Loved It: 🍽️ *The Salmon* - A golden-crusted masterpiece with lemon-herb whispers 🧀 *The Salad* - Creamy goat cheese dancing with honeyed pears 🧀 *The Cheese Board* - A Swiss symphony of Gruyère, Vacherin, and warmth With crackling fireplace ambiance and service that feels like coming home, it's not just dinner - it's a memory in the making. Pro Tip:Come hungry, leave enchanted.

Superb superb food. Nice relaxing decor. Friendly staff and comfortable homey environment for dining. This restaurant is not located in the main road and probably can be missed if you were not looking for it. Which is a shame because I totally enjoyed my meal here. We started out with the usual bread with a piece of Matterhorn shaped butter. It was a good introduction to the food to come. The Spaghetti Hummer (lobster) had a creamy thick and seafood flavour packed gravy with delicious pieces of well cooked lobster meat. The fish looks deceptively simple. Fresh meat, great searing of skin, mashed silky pumpkin with nuts scattered at bottom, the differences and combination of texture was a superb play on the palate. Entrecote Black Angus was incredibly delicious and well flavoured. Tender juicy meat. I especially loved the layered potato that came with it. Combined with the meat, it was incredible. As for the Tagliata di Manzo, another lovely sliced beef dish. Served on a bed of fresh salad, I found it refreshing and not being a heavy dish, enjoyable to eat. Finally, Tiramisu. I have never seen tiramisu presented like this. Partially deconstructed, components combined in an eye pleasing manner, it was a perfect end to a delicious meal. If I ever visit around here, I would definitely drop by for another meal.

This is the best meal I have ever had in Switzerland. Each dish was extremely delicate, with perfectly balanced flavors. The ravioli was fantastic, and the lobster ravioli was fresh and sweet, complemented by a rich broth. The ginger and lemongrass sauce with scallops was a stroke of genius. The lamb and Brazilian risotto were also authentic and delicious. The dessert was flawless, truly impeccable.

Rothorn Ristorante Pizzeria is a captivating dining spot located at the summit of Rothorn, offering one of the most mesmerizing vantage points in the Zermatt mountains. The restaurant provides an unforgettable experience with its incredible natural spectacle, allowing visitors to witness breathtaking sunrises and sunsets from 3,100 meters above sea level. Additionally, guests can indulge in the culinary delights of the region while taking in panoramic views that extend into Italy just beyond the Matterhorn.
Service was excellent. The food was good, compliments to the chef. We had no reservation but were seated quickly. Drinks were served within 5 minutes & our food order was taken quickly. English is spoken, which helped our mediocre attempts at German. It is kept nicely warm to counter the cold winds outside. Pricing is similar to the rest of Zermatt, but the smiles were bigger!

DO NOT GIVE THE PRAISE TO THEM ! As a hunger skier , I praised the food is good , then the service man asking me to give him the tips when I paying the bill . Yes , I’d like to give some tips but I don’t like the way as he said “if you think the food is good . You can give some tips “ . No tips no leaving . I don’t like the way to be blackmailed.

I know that Switzerland is expensive, extremely expensive. Even so, I didn’t want to spend a fortune on something worth half the price. BUT I did have the Äpfelkuchen (apple tart) as the kind waitress suggested. It was good. I realize one is also paying for everything to be brought up to the top of the mountain, but for me, the level of decadence (that I was a part of) was rather disconcerting.

Amazing atmosphere, super cozy and the food is completely amazing. Original tastes very faithful to their origins. The service was impecable! My favourites posta negra and picanha! And I would come back for everything 100 times, specially for the cheesecake 😍

What. Did. I. Just. EAT?!?! 🤩😍🤩😍 It was the slow cooked short rib. My face changed as soon as I put the first bite in my mouth. Absolute mental and spiritual journey into a chocolate drenched, slowly cooked tower of short ribs with delicate fatty bits and purple potatoes. I didn’t want it to end. Gorgeous. Upstairs and downstairs have unique signatures so check both! Malika, the awesome waitperson, gave detailed accounts of each dish so it was easy to choose. I honestly wanted another one right after I finished scraping the last bits of sauce off the plate. Absolutely royal. And GREAT VIBE.

One of the best restaurants in Zermatt and the entire region. One of our two favourite restaurants. We return here each year and multiple times during our visits. High quality food and a great service combined with a beautiful atmosphere. The staff members were welcoming and kind. It was nice to see a change in the menu and a complete transformation of the content. The Chefs and cooking staff greeted with a big smile and acknowledged us before we leave from their kitchen area in the middle of the restaurant. Our waiter, Jan, did an excellent job delivering his service and explaining everything while trying to sell us everything he could elegantly which is quite impressive and worth noting. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Authentic Japanese restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a unique culinary adventure, look no further than the "Fuji of Zermatt." This modern Japanese restaurant is a haven for sushi lovers and offers an array of delightful dishes that cater to all tastes. The highlight here is undoubtedly the Teppanyaki experience, where skilled chefs prepare your meal right before your eyes, adding an entertaining twist to dining.
Fine dining Japanese. I can usually find tasting menus a bit intense, but this one was fairly light and delicate. Some really interesting and elegant dishes. The wagyu was gorgeous, and the wine selection was excellent. There is an option for tea pairing, too

Fun as expected. The chef was entertaining. It is interesting that he puts salts to say thank you on the griddle, but our food lacked salt. The lobster I had was not at the peak of its freshness.
N J — Google review
Good food and service, though not exceptional. I especially enjoyed the lobster menu. I also liked how they served side meals like sushi rolls, in addition to Teppanyaki. Overall, we were able to finish our meals in about hour, without any extended wait. I do believe, however, that the hype around this place is more of performative than substantial. Europeans there seemed to enjoy their theatrical performance of lighting fire on the counter but the food itself was very average Teppanyaki that you could find anywhere in other cities, nothing exceptional or creative.

If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine and are looking for an exceptional dining experience, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. The food is incredible, the chef's skills are top-notch, and the atmosphere is delightful. It's definitely worth a visit! The food was incredibly delicious, and the chef's skills were simply outstanding. What made this dining experience even more unique was discovering that the chef Sam is from Malaysia, which added a beautiful blend of flavors to the dishes. From the sashimi, sushi rolls to the grilled meats and seafood, every dish was crafted with precision and care. The presentation of each dish was also impeccable, making it a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. The ingredients used were fresh and of high quality, which was evident in the taste of the food. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very pleasing, with the perfect lighting and decor creating a cozy and welcoming environment. The service was attentive and friendly, which added to the overall experience.

After Seven is a 2-star Michelin restaurant located in the Backstage Hotel Vernissage, open only during the winter season from December to April. The renowned Swiss TV chef Ivo Adam and Head Chef Florian Neubauer create dishes that blend local ingredients with modern flair. The restaurant features an open kitchen where guests can catch a glimpse of the chefs at work.
Amazing dining experience. We had the 6 course meal (which is actually 12 if you count every starter). The decor, the service, the food and the presentation of every plate is amazing. It made for a memorable experience. 10/10!
Julian V — Google review
A disappointing experience. We were initially excited to dine at this Michelin-starred restaurant, but the reality fell far short. While the dishes were creative and carefully presented, the flavors were overwhelmingly strong, drowning out the original ingredients rather than enhancing them. Nearly every dish felt like drinking Tom Yum Soup or Green Curry, making us question the restaurant’s understanding of delicate, refined flavors in fine dining. Worse, our experience was marred by a serious safety issue—a glass flask used to infuse a broth exploded mid-service. While the server apologized, the restaurant itself failed to offer any meaningful response or assurance. The soup spilled onto our clothing, and while we were fortunate to avoid serious harm, the situation could have been far worse with shattered glass. It was a reckless serving method—imaginative perhaps, but unscientific and completely out of touch with reality. Overall, we were baffled as to what earned this restaurant a Michelin star. The chefs seemed to prioritize theatrical presentation over true culinary refinement, and their disregard for both taste balance and safety left us disappointed. Between the overpowering flavors and the dangerous serving methods, this was not just underwhelming—it was unsafe.
Sae — Google review
While the food was outstanding and so unique! The atmosphere was really cool (different than any restaurant I’ve been to) too but the service was simply not good. The waiter spilled a drink while we sat on the couch, they forgot to bring the food name cards with each course, the waiter’s shirt was untucked (to where you could see their stomach), and they did not refill water for us among other issues. These are basic things I would expect for a 2 star Michelin restaurant.

An unforgettable culinary experience An evening at After Seven is much more than just a meal – it is a journey through perfectly balanced flavors, masterful craftsmanship, and genuine hospitality. Florian and his team create an atmosphere where you feel welcome from the very first moment. The creativity in the kitchen is reflected in every course: precisely composed flavors, top-quality ingredients, and a presentation that is nothing short of art on a plate. Every bite reveals the skill and passion of the team. One dish that particularly impressed us was the codfilet with chorizzo and mussels, which amazed us with its perfect balance of taste and texture. Also the Calamaristripes whitch was a super good ingredet spice! The service also deserves the highest praise – attentive, warm, and highly knowledgeable about the wines and dishes. Every request is met with a smile, making the experience feel effortless and authentic. A visit here is not just a delight but a true enrichment. Many thanks to Florian and his team for this extraordinary evening – we are already looking forward to our next visit!

Good location and nicely appointed details. But the food is overly salty, and most of them are similar. I am looking for dynamics in culinary sensations.

This was my first ever Michelin star restaurant and it did not disappoint! There was not a lot of information on the website, so I didn't really know what to expect. They open at 7:30 at night and run one service each night. There are 4 course, 5 course, and 7 course options and you can do a wine pairing as well. Each option has a pre-course and a course plate. We did the 4 course option which was roughly 140 franc per person and took 2 hours. I don't remember the prices of the 5 and 7 courses but I do know that they take 3 and 4 hours respectively. The service was impeccable and we felt very well cared for. The food was creative, well balanced, and incredible. Everything was so beautiful and delicious. It was truly a culinary experience. If you are a foodie and you can afford it, this is a dinner you will not forget. Special thank you to my mom for taking us here.

This Michelin-starred establishment offers a unique dining experience with a focus on using regional and seasonal ingredients, some of which are grown in their own garden. The restaurant is committed to sustainability by recycling food waste into energy. Depending on the season, guests can enjoy a specially curated 4- or 6-course menu.
Super cozy casual fine dining. Often Michelin restaurants tend to be a bit stiff, not here. Everything is very casual but that does not take away from the quality of service or food. Excellent flavours all the way through. Inspired by Asian, South American and European flavours every dish has punch and is unique. Service is super friendly and professional. Great experience overall

Tucked away in Zermatt, Brasserie Uno is a cozy little spot that offers a really special dining experience. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and know their stuff—they make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. There’s just one food option: a carefully crafted six-course tasting menu. You can go with their wine pairing or pick your own bottle to go along with it. Every dish is a treat, made mostly with local ingredients that really highlight the flavors of the region. The wine list is great too, with plenty of choices that pair beautifully with the food. Since it’s a small and intimate space, just keep in mind that other tables can feel close—occasionally, some guests might get a bit loud. But honestly, just focus on your company, take your time, and enjoy the whole experience. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, catch up with friends, and savor great food and wine.

I hope everyone gets to experience the heart and kindness behind their food.

Ristorante Al Bosco is a charming restaurant located in the Furi area, part of the Riffelalp Resort. Despite being part of a 5-star hotel, it offers relatively affordable dining options compared to other places in Zermatt. The restaurant features a smart terrace and interior, providing an excellent dining experience. Guests can enjoy daily specials, including pastas and pizzas shaped like the Matterhorn, as well as local specialties such as Riffelap Gamelle soup.
A perfect place to stop for lunch when visiting the Gornergrat. The Onion Soup was absolutely fantastic; I would highly recommend it. Finally, our waiter, Marco, made the meal exponentially more enjoyable.

Wonderful lunch experience! We dined outside and the service and food were equally impressive. Pasta dishes delightful and excellent pizza. We all loved the tomato soup too. Will be back for sure!

Reviewing in hopes that they will update their hours and not inconvenience anyone else. After a long hike we arrived to find a sign near their entrance stating they close at 4 pm and reopen at 6:30 pm. Hours online state 11:30 am to 9:45 pm*** not accurate!!!

Excellent service. I recommend here for an apres lunch. Excellent wine collection. Every item on food menu is good. We ordered a ton of pizzas to share. If it’s sunny I recommend seating outside.

Nothing special, really. I ordered risotto, raclette, onion soup, and I can't say anything that was delicious enough I wanted to eat it again. A bit disappointing.

Peruvian restaurant
La Muña is a daring restaurant at the Schweizerhof hotel, offering a fusion of Peruvian and Asian cuisine. The menu features an extensive selection of ceviches, including red tuna, yuzu salmon with lime and coriander, and mango and citrus bream. The dishes are beautifully presented with a Japanese twist, often served as shared plates. The restaurant prides itself on using rare, carefully selected ingredients that are not commonly found in Europe.
We had 8 people with differing food preferences and every one of us thought this was one of our best meals we have ever had. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The atmosphere was perfect and our servers were incredible!! The meal was outstanding in every way and this will be our new standard to compare every other meal to!!
Nina Z — Google review
I had the pleasure of dining at La Muña on Wednesday night. The atmosphere and staff were immediately welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. Not only was every dish incredible and unique, from the starters to the desserts, but the staff were very well-versed in allergy maintenance. I have a severe gluten intolerance and was able to make a note of this in the reservation. When I arrived at the restaurant, my server immediately walked me through all of my options on the menu without me even having to ask! The chef was even able to make alterations to a few dishes so I could still enjoy them. This was by far the best experience I’ve had dining out with my allergy. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Zermatt!

Fantastic dinner - second time around in La Muna. In the booking I stated one of the guests was allergic to milk. When we arrived we were given a printed menu in which was indicated what dishes were milk free. First time I see such attention to details - very impressive. The food was simply delicious. We ordered a range of small plates with all kinds of raw fish, vegetables, and giozas, which we shared. Some of the sauces were to die for . Cocktails were also very fresh original and tasty. Finally, Monica our waitress was super attentive and very friendly. Overall , we had a great evening with a great dining experience.
Yael S — Google review
Great food, fresh fish of a very good quality. Yellowtail and tuna nigiry are amazing. Lovely atmosphere and nice staff. The only problem was that we were told it was fully booked for all days of our stay and then one evening we asked maybe someone cancelled and we were given a table at 18.30 and restaurant was half empty all the way through the dinner. So it was a pity that we could have missed this place and restaurant stays half empty while many people are probably like is are told its fully booked.

Awesome, interesting food. Great cocktails. Service is quick and friendly. Able to accommodate gluten-free. Great atmosphere too inside the hotel. Highly recommend. Worth the upscale price.

One of the best dinners I have ever had. We did the Imperial Omakase which was incredible. The service was wonderful and everyone was very attentive. I truly think this place is worth a Michelin star, and my husband and I have experienced several. Go here if you are in Zermatt!
Natalie V — Google review
The food was very good; however, one of the people in our party has a gluten and dairy intolerance. We called in advance to ensure they could accommodate us and they assured us it would not be a problem. Fast forward and there was basically only one item on the menu that was gluten and dairy free. When I suggested ceviche without the sauce, they simply said no. The service was poor. It took 30 minutes for them to serve the entrees after they cleared the appetizers even though the restaurant was half empty. The waitress was unhelpful.
Natalie ( — Google review
I had booked a table 6 months in advance #100. When we arrived we were told that they forgot to put the heater on.. It was cold and even though they had put up a stand heater in the room (between the chairs) it didn’t get warm the whole evening, which is not a sign of a good service. The ugly curtains are also a disgrace for such a lovely place, Service was slow ( not busy ! ) and we had to stand up a few times to ask for drinks and food! Our server explained sorry but she forgets this corner.. Food was lovely but served very slowly..

Lovely mid-ski day lunch. Made reservations and stopped in for a traditional Swiss lunch. Service was friendly. This restaurant offers beautiful views and yummy lunch! We recommend the meat pita dish and the Parmesan fondue pasta. Paired with a spritz and beer, our meal was unforgettable. Highly recommend.

Very friendly and cheerful staff. I ordered tapas with a salad and got a generous portion of bread on the side. The kitchen team explained exactly what was included in the tapas—what was on the plate and on the menu—which was very helpful. They even walked me through the menu in general. I visited on a Saturday, just before 11:30 a.m. It was almost empty at that time, even though it was a beautiful September day. Later it gets busy when people from the Five Lakes hike pass by, so a reservation is a good idea. The place is nicely done: turquoise plates that match the cushions, lots of decoration in the same turquoise tone—very consistent and pretty. And of course, a fantastic view of the Matterhorn. Also great just to stop for a coffee. Overall, a warm welcome, helpful explanations, and a lovely setting. For me, definitely worth a visit.

Amazing place and food at high altitude of 2100 meters! You must walk about 20 minutes to get there, after taking the lift to Sunnegga. Also you can return to Zermatt by hiking (50 minutes to 90 minutes, it depends on your functional capacity)

My friend and I had a fantastic lunch here! I made a booking in advance to avoid disappointment of no walk-in availability. I was unsure how long it was going to take us to arrive at the restaurant from our hike down from Gornergrat but staff had no issue seating us when we arrived earlier than expected. I tried my first cheese fondue here (it was so good!) against a backdrop of the Matterhorn, and finished the meal off with delicious apple strudel and fancy ice-cream. Also loved meeting Nala, the resident pup!

In Zermatt, the Migros-Supermarkt is a convenient option for grocery shopping, located in the town center. The store offers a wide range of products including herbal teas and ready-to-eat dishes. It's known for its efficient staff and commitment to health and the environment. Visitors appreciate its selection of items such as bread, pastries, cheese, yogurt, fruits, coffee, and chocolate.
Tired of paying Swiss prices for restaurant meals out with the family who don’t even appreciate the amount of hours you have had to work for each owl of spaghetti? Then come no further than Migros that has an extensive range of groceries at great prices so you can cook up a meal at home or even just get a pre made meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Fantastic location with an impressive variety of products. However, I was taken aback when an older male employee, possibly in his mid-60s with gray hair, shushed me mid-sentence and continued walking without acknowledging me. A bit more attentiveness and courtesy from the staff would elevate the shopping experience to match the excellence of the store itself.
Camila Q — Google review
In any ski village, we usually do not see two big supermarkets. But yes, in Zermatt! There to show the size of visitors in this destination! Twice, I have stayed in Zermatt—once with a kitchen and another without. It is a wiser choice to book an apartment with a kitchen for too many good reasons! It will be cost-saving throughout your stay (>3 days).
Globetrotting A — Google review
Very helpful staff. Stocked with all the regular grocery items, including a bakery section and to-go food items and snacks. Lots of Self check-out kiosks. They only take cards though. There is a cashier if you want to pay by cash.

Decent selection. Great to escape Zermatt's restaurant prices. Bought some two minute noodles to eat with a wine and Matterhorn views.
Richard M — Google review
Unfriendly and unhelpful service despite our best efforts to be considerate and polite visitors (we needed help with weighing fruits and didn’t understand how they do it here). The person was needlessly and repeatedly shouting at us in German (luckily we understand some) but it surprised me since 95% of people here are tourists with no German, and we were being open, kind, and acting in good faith. Maybe they were having a bad day but no need to take it out on innocent people 😊

This was actually one of my favourite self service places on the mountain. The food is so tasty and there’s a great selection! The goulash was delicious and I liked that they also sold single pieces of fruit.

This mid-mountain eatery is outstanding! Tucked downstairs from a grab and go cafe, this cozy restaurant offers great views, fantastic service and a cozy ambiance. Our group shared several bottles of local wine as well as delicious fresh bread, beef tartar, salmon tartar, black truffle fontina cheese gnocchi, and several desserts including tiramisu, apple strudel, caramel panna cotta and hot chocolate. Nestled within the charming Hotel Monte Rosa, Whymper Stube is a delightful dining spot that captures the essence of Swiss cuisine. This cozy, wood-paneled restaurant offers a warm atmosphere where guests can indulge in regional specialties like raclette and fondue. The menu features unique twists on traditional cheese dishes, including delectable options such as mushroom or pear-infused fondue.
I had oil fondue here. It’s safer to make a reservation in advance. Shortly after I arrived, more and more customers came in, and the place was full in no time. Since I had reserved, I was able to enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace. It was my first time staying in Zermatt, and I had a wonderful time.

Delicious and authentic Swiss restaurant for fondue and other classic Swiss cuisine. Definitely recommend making a reservation way in advance. The host suggested booking 3 weeks in advance to people who tried to walk in. They do seem to accommodate large groups. The interior is very cute and homey.
Sara O — Google review
We didn’t try the dinner at Whymper Stube, but we stopped by just for the chocolate fondue. Surprisingly, chocolate fondue isn’t as popular in Switzerland as cheese fondue, so it was a pleasant surprise to find a place that serves it. Located inside Hotel Monte Rosa, one of the oldest hotels in Zermatt, this cozy restaurant offers a charming setting. There are only three tables outside, but if you get one, you’ll enjoy a nice view and a good spot for people watching. The service was friendly and welcoming. The chocolate fondue itself was rich and satisfying, served with strawberries and bananas. We opted out of the marshmallows. If you’re in Zermatt and craving chocolate fondue, this is one of the very few places that offers it.

This nice little Swiss restaurant was a delighttul find. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with charming decor that added to the cozy ambiance. The service was fast and friendly, making us feel welcome from the start. We enjoyed delicious soups that were rich in flavor and comforting, perfect for a Swiss dining experience. We also tried their sausages, which were expertly prepared and full of taste. The quality of the food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable for dining in Switzerland. Overall, a lovely spot for a great meal with a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

We came to this place to try Raclette and it was an incredible experience. The restaurant was fully booked for the evening but the very kind staff offered us to come during lunch when it is less busy. We enjoyed it so much that we also ordered dessert. Stockhorn by the rex is a restaurant that prides itself on sourcing its meat and produce from local farmers. Dishes like fresh baked bread with homemade barlauch butter, mouth-watering soups, perfectly cooked lamb and ribeye, as well as sides like roast potatoes with rosemary are highly recommended.
I recently visited this amazing restaurant during our trip. From the moment we arrived outside we knew the service and food were going to be amazing. We were greeted so kindly and sat right away. Recommend a reservation if it is during their busy season. Our waiter was Felix and he was very hospitable. He gave his recommendations and pairings. The food was better than expected. We had many disappointments during our stay with food. The price point is great at Stockhorn especially for the quality. Would recommend this establishment and the bar attached to the Rex Hotel.
Emily H — Google review
As a couple we went here for a 4-course Christmas Eve dinner where we had to reserve in advance. Upon arrival we were friendly greeted and they offer to put our jackets away. We were presented with the menu and upon ordering the aperitif this was removed from the table with a remark that they will explain every dish served. First dish they didn’t explain what the dish consisted off and they served it before confirming which wine bottle we would like to pair with the dishes. In the menu it said it will have truffle, which in the end was shredded to bits instead of shaved and hence lost all of its flavor. Second dish we asked them to explain and the waiter didn’t know what they were serving and came back with the menu instead of an explanation. Third dish which was supposed to be a sirloin was cold, full of muscle and because of that was chewy. We were offered another slice but we were not comfortable and didn’t like it at all. Dessert was 2 pieces of to our taste stale bread and Chantilly cream which was quite underwhelming. All in all we felt like it was overpriced, underwhelming and tasteless which is totally not a representation of a Christmas menu. What completely threw us off was that after payment and upon leaving we were directed to closet full of jackets where we had to look and search for our jackets ourself, which for us is unacceptable, if you offer to take our jackets you should also know where you stored them and return them as is, this is to our experience and opinion the opposite of customer service and experience and to some extend reflects poorly not only on the restaurant but also on the affiliated hotel Rex which stands for quality and customer service. We will not go back and deeply regret having Christmas dinner here.
Christopher I — Google review
Steaks were average and nothing special about the add ons. Sauces were more than average and I think there are better places in town for hormone free meat. This is the first place in Switzerland where they start with charging you for tap water and which was definitely didn’t fit in to trust them for anything else. Too pricey for this kind of food. Definitely a waste of my evening
Kayman — Google review
Tasty food overall, but a bit overpriced for what you get I recently visited this restaurant and overall, the experience was good — not amazing, but solid. We tried 8 different dishes. About 6 of them were genuinely tasty, well-prepared, and nicely presented. The other 2 were just okay — not bad, but not memorable either. A bit hit-or-miss depending on what you order. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was attentive. However, I did find the prices a bit high considering the overall quality. While some dishes were worth it, others didn’t quite justify the cost. 📌 In short: a nice place to enjoy a good meal if you choose your dishes wisely — but don’t expect every plate to blow you away. I might come back, but with more measured expectations.
Alex C — Google review
The atmosphere was nice, and watching the fresh fire grilling the steak right next to our table was quite entertaining. However, the food was underwhelming considering the price we paid. The starters and bread were very good, and the homemade duck fat butter was delicious. The steak and chicken, however, were just average. The duck, in particular, was disappointingly bland and overly salty. The waiter gave off a slightly arrogant vibe—still polite, but not exactly pleasant or comfortable. The four of us spent 355 CHF, with only two large bottles of water and a single cocktail—which probably says enough about how salty the food was.
Pam — Google review
The service here was incredible. Super funny team, really enjoyed our time. And the flavors were incredible. I recommend the beef tongue and the tenderloin, but in the two times we visited, we tried different things and nothing was a miss.

Great atmosphere for a traditional Swiss restaurant. Fondue and traditional foods. The cordon bleu was fantastic. Do not skip the dessert. Those apple donut things were amazing, I'm stealing those for my next dinner party.

Very cozy cabin like atmosphere. We went for fondue and were a bit naive- believing that all fondue was cheese related- and ended up with the meat fondue with broth. Zero complaints though- it was DELICIOUS. If I could find a bottle of their garlic sauce I would die happy. Though, All the sauces and flavors were truly great. Our waitress was so sweet and spoke more languages than google. We really enjoyed ourselves and if we had stayed longer we would have returned for the cheese fondue. Best to make a reservation as they were busy- Was very easy to do the reservation online. Only recommendation would be to read the menu very well- or end up with a happy cheese free accident like us!

The restaurant is located at the ground floor of a quaint wooden building. Somehow I felt that it had a cramped atmosphere. Navigating around takes care and I am not a large person. Otherwise, the staffs were helpful and I had a great meal. As usual all meals started with salad and bread. Pretty standard and nothing to crow about. The ribs however, now that's another other story. I enjoyed it throughly. The ribs were superbly flavoured and marinated. Cooked perfectly with tender juicy meat that separates effortlessly from the bone. This is definitely one of the better ribs I have tasted. To end it I had ice cream drenched in schnapps. It had a combination of taste that surprised me. Probably something that you need to try a few times to get the nuance.

I started and ended with classic dishes - tomato soup to tiramisu, and every dish was so flavorful and delicious! I felt like I was enjoying some nice home-cooked meal, which is rare to find! At the end when we possibly couldn't have another bite, we were offered dessert liquors as much as we liked, which was a perfect way to end the meal. Do not miss this restaurant if you are in town!

The best restaurant in Zermatt. We came here for Christmas dinner and it was absolutely amazing. This meal was the best meal we had in Switzerland and both agree the pasta here is better than in Italy. My partner had the Christmas tasting menu and I ordered the truffle mushroom soup and scampi pasta. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. I felt like we were family eating Christmas dinner in Giuseppe's house. He came to our table many times to ask if we liked our food and if we needed anything. The service was excellent and at the end of the meal we got complimentary limoncello and my partner had tiramisu which was again at the top of the "best ever" list. All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I wish we had come here sooner during our stay because we would've eaten here at least twice. Sadly, Christmas was our last night in Zermatt but this dinner was the perfect ending and we will most certainly dining here again the next time we are in Zermatt.

If you're in Zermatt and craving authentic Italian cuisine, look no further than Le Chalet da Giuseppe. This charming restaurant offers an array of delectable dishes that will transport your taste buds straight to Italy. The al dente pasta, with its perfect texture, is a highlight, and the flavors are nothing short of excellent. From the creamy carbonara to the aromatic aglio e olio, every bite is a delight. Save room for dessert, because the tiramisu and panna cotta are simply divine. Our experience was made even more memorable by Lydia, our host. Her happy and bubbly personality, along with her genuine willingness to help, added a wonderful touch to our evening. The owner was also welcoming making this whole experience very homey. Le Chalet da Giuseppe is an absolute gem that you can't afford to miss. Highly recommended!

This place hosted the perfect dinner I could have imagined in Zermatt. The food was impeccable and the service was beyond extraordinary. We were offered a couple of dessert liquors to have until the bottle ran out, and I think I make Chicago proud.

We felt as if we were in Giuseppes house! He welcomed us with an exuberant greeting, you truly have to witness to believe. He will make you feel special, whether you like it or not! The food was delicious, I ordered the scallopine, and my wife ordered the gnocchi. To die for. The Panna cotta surprised us it was so tasty, and the limoncello shots were the icing on the cake!

One of the best meals and experiences we've had. Greeted with smiles and Italian singing, adorned with complimentary snacks and drinks, served some of the best Italian food we've had while soaking in the ambience of feeling like you're at a friend's house for dinner. Would highly recommend going to this restaurant. Giuseppe will be there to greet you and to send you off with smiles

Very good food and service. If you get a table by the windows, you get a view of the Matterhorn. The terrace outside is a great place to have a pre, or after meal drink, or just a coffee.

Our visit to the cafe was not pleasant at all, we ordered hotcakes chocolate and black tea but unfortunately the was not black it was the worst tea we ever had and the waiter wasn’t helpful, he said its the best we have and if u want black u should ask for English breakfast tea , the hot chocolate was bad and cold , sorry but i don’t recommend it for coffee . The view is good

I am writing to express my appreciation for the excellent experience I had at your establishment. It was a great place to enjoy a drink and listen to live music. I especially want to commend our server, Plama. His service was truly exceptional and exceeded my expectations. My party and I were very pleased with his attentive and friendly approach.

Don’t let some of the harsh reviews drive you away. We had a wonderful lunch in Lusi. We reserved online a day before and they kept a good table with the view of the Matterhorn, service was very professional and fast(we had one miscommunication with dessert but they fixed it very quickly) For the food yes the prices are high but you’re definitely paying for the location and quality. I had the wagyu burger with cheese which was delicious and my partner tried the ravioli and he said it was delicious and would definitely recommend. Since the mains were so good we decided to take a look at the deserts and was very pleased with what we had. All in all we spent a pleasant time at Lusi and was a bit concerned at time of booking since we read some harsh comments but figured if it’s on the Michelin guide app it can’t be bad and let’s give it a go, we’re very pleased customers and would love to return sometime soon:)

On a beautiful sunny day in Zermatt, we decided to have a drink and snack in the Lusi terrace outdoor seating area, looking at the Matterhorn mountain. We tried the focaccia and a few drinks (Aperol Spritz and the Matterhorn View), and everything was delicious. In particular, the Matterhorn View was our favorite drink. The service was very friendly and professional. If you like, the seating area is an excellent opportunity to chat with other people.

Nice terrace especially on sunny say, it is in the heart of Zermatt’s town and facing Matterhorn! They offer nice cocktails and some nice food! We were also at night and had dinner inside and the interior of the restaurant is lovely and especially cozy! We were with out little daughter and the waiters were great, they came each now and then to play with her and made her laugh the whole night! Very attentive personnel and the food is excellent, would definitely come again.

Japanese restaurant
Restaurant Myoko in Zermatt is a meticulously designed establishment that aims to deliver an authentic Japanese dining experience. The chefs, trained in Japan, skillfully prepare a variety of traditional Japanese dishes such as sushi, tempura, shabu-shabu, and yakitori using only the finest ingredients including fresh fish, high-quality meat, and crisp vegetables. With 13 GaultMillau points to its name, Myoko stands out as the premier Japanese restaurant in Zermatt.
The entrance was deceiving, while walking in you don’t realize how large and beautiful the dining space really is. It is beautifully decorated. The cocktail menu was creative and quite good. The Waygu steak was cooked to perfection, very flavorful.
Renee L — Google review
Excellent food! We got the veggie/avocado rolls, veggie tempura, veal and chicken. All of the dishes were prepared and presented beautifully with good flavor. Some of the best food we've had on our trip in Switzerland. There is halal meat on request (when we went it was the veal and chicken) and the staff is very kind and helpful. Beautiful decorations and atmosphere. Highly recommend if you are in Zermatt and wanting something other than fondue.
Hussain B — Google review
Very disappointed with both the food quality and service here. The sushi was clearly pre-made and simply arranged from a prepared container after ordering. The rice was too hard and didn't properly blend with the ingredients, which shows a lack of understanding of proper sushi preparation. Sushi-making should be treated with care and respect, not handled like fast food. The service was particularly concerning. I had to wave several times just to get attention from the staff. After finishing my meal, the server abruptly cleared my table and immediately presented the bill, clearly rushing me to leave. However, I noticed European customers who arrived earlier were treated much more respectfully and were allowed to dine at their leisure. This double standard in customer service is disappointing and inappropriate, especially in an international tourist destination like Zermatt. Would not recommend this place to anyone expecting quality sushi or fair treatment.
Clay Y — Google review
Let’s start with the positives The place is lovely ..beautiful design And our waiter was very efficient and friendly. And that’s it . I am aware that sushi lovers must lower the expectations in remote locations. But this was beyond disappointing. Only the yellowtail sashimi was to save. The salmon? Nothing to remember. And the sushis were simply not good enough with the rice disintegrating. Last but not least, pricing. Expensive good food is cheap. Expensive bad food is simply annoying (or worse). Perfect example is the wine list, with a half bottle (37.5cl) sold the price of a regular bottle (75 cl) in other Zermatt beautiful restaurants . Would I go back? NO
Christopher C — Google review
I wasn't expecting 5 star sushi.. but woof I could make better sushi out of a van. (See picture) I'm not sure who they have working here but even the rice was stale. To top it off, the one glass of wine I ordered was spoiled and they still tried to charge me for it. Go anywhere else in Zermatt to eat.

Delectable Japanese food in Zermatt. Great menu, awesome waiter and perfect atmosphere to dine and wine.
Jeffrey Y — Google review
Go to this restaurant only if you’re craving sushi in a country that ordinarily doesn’t specialize in non-European cuisine. This restaurant has a decent looking menu, but the quality of their fish and ingredients is definitely subpar compared to other restaurants outside of Switzerland. Also be prepared to pay serious Swiss franks at this restaurant. Service is nice and the restaurant looks great from the outside.

We expected a little more from the best rated Japanese restaurant in the area. Sushi 🍱 was good overall but only starter tuna carpaccio was really excellent. Very pricey with regards to the ok ish quality.

Nestled high above a former glacier, Fluhalp is a charming mountain hut and restaurant offering breathtaking panoramic views and access to some of the most scenic trails in the region. The vibrant alpine meadows surrounding the hut make it an ideal base for summer hikers, with direct access to routes leading to the famous Stellisee and its stunning reflections of the Matterhorn. The lively atmosphere at Fluhalp often includes live music events, adding a festive touch to the serene mountain setting.
Sorry for the late review! I visited this restaurant with my family in August 2024, and we had a great experience. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive — their warm service really left a lasting impression on us.

If you’re visiting Zermatt and are looking for a unique mountain experience, the Fluhalp is for you!! We took our 3 kids ages (15,14, and 11) to this mountain lodge after a hike from Chez Vrony. Before that we had taken the Sunnegga funicular. The hike from Chez Vrony took us 1 hour 20 mins with a few stops along the way to catch our breath and drink water. It was a difficult hike, mostly uphill. But, it was worth it!! I’ve never been so happy to reach my destination! Ha! We arrived with our backpacks and tired legs. We got some water and took in the views of the Matterhorn and lake. The sky was cloudy and rain was coming but it was still beautiful. We were greeted and easily checked in by the staff. We made our way to our rooms, we had 1 room with the Matterhorn view (holding 2) and 1 without (holding 3). Our rooms were 19 and 14. After we settled in we had a nice hot tea on the front porch. It was nice to sit and relax. Before dinner we took showers. Note their website says you must pay for showers but we didn’t realize you had to pay in coins. You also can purchase filtered water for much cheaper with coin francs. We only had a few franks for our family of 5 showered with 3 francs which gave us 6 mins. It was hilarious as we all took turns in batches of 2 to share the minutes. We made the best of it. You also must bring your own towels and soap. Dinner was great!! The shared dining room is cozy and comfortable. The service was prompt and friendly. We ate a broth soup, small mixed salad with French (aka ranch if your from the us), chicken with creamy mushroom sauce and homemade pasta. It was delicious! For dessert we had an espresso ice cream and they provided a custard option for our kids. The kids also had the sauce on the side which was easily accommodated by the staff. After dinner went to bed around 9:30-10. We slept with the windows open and it was very pleasant. The other guests in the lodge were friendly and polite. We slept well and woke at 5:30 to see the sunrise on the Matterhorn. By 5:45 it was lite up!! Wow!! My husband went for a hike and I attempted to go back to sleep. Why wake up if coffee doesn’t start till 7 :) Around 7 my husband and I shared a cappuccino and mint tea in the restaurant. We woke our kids around 8:15 and we had breakfast together. The breakfast was eggs you hard boiled yourself, yogurt, cheese, apples, bread and jam. There was also a chocolate cereal option. All in all we loved this adventure!! It will stand out as one of my favorite parts of Switzerland. Keep in mind it is not fancy and consider it an adventure!! To give some perspective we also stayed at the Burgenstock (ultra fancy and luxury). The Fluhalp is not that, but it is extra special in its own way!! Bring your francs!!

We had an amazing time at this hut, dinner was great and authentic. The man in charge even asked us if we wanted more food of each dish. The staff were the best part of the experience as all of them were very nice and friendly. The price a high but that’s the price to pay to have great wines and food on top of a mountain. Would stay again. Was magical to watch the snow falling in the middle of the summer in front of the matterhorn.
Sabrina J — Google review
After two weeks of hiking hut to hut in the Swiss Alps this was our last stop. The food, staff and service were great. Had the potato soup and a few drinks while waiting to check in and I’m still thinking about that soup. However due to the ability to easily reach this hut without any real physical exertion it felt less authentic. Other guests were fairly loud and unruly well into the early morning (2 am). Compared to other huts that required hiking to reach, guests are more respectful and quiet as everyone is out to hike again early the next morning. The walls are very thin and you can easily hear between rooms. Floors and doors are very creaky which was not a problem for me but I did feel bad for potentially disturbing others. There are definitely more authentic experiences from other huts that require actual hiking to get to. For the extreme price increase compared to all our previous huts we stayed at we did not get a better or even any additional experience. If you’re here to see the Matterhorn at sunrise skip the hut and come up in the AM. We did pay for Matterhorn view from our room but it’s so easy to sit on the porch and see the same view for no additional cost that I would not bother with the extra expense.

Had the time of our lives! Host was phenomenal! Room was cozy, warm, and quiet. Hopeful to return in the future. Got lucky with the clouds breaking up for a couple photos of the Matterhorn.

Fluhalp is an absolute gem high above Zermatt. The service is friendly and efficient, and the authentic alpine atmosphere makes it a perfect mountain retreat. The Apfelstrudel is absolutely delicious – a must-try! Food overall is of great quality, and surprisingly, the prices are very reasonable for a mountain restaurant. What really sets Fluhalp apart is the breathtaking panoramic view of the Matterhorn and surrounding peaks. There’s plenty of outdoor seating, so you can soak it all in while enjoying your meal. On a practical note, the place is well-maintained, with clean toilets – always a plus when you're up in the mountains. Whether you're hiking, skiing, or just out for a scenic stop, Fluhalp is definitely worth a visit. We’ll be back!
Creativ S — Google review
Overall wasn’t worth it. Bought the most expensive room and still had to pay to take a shower and fill up my water bottle with water. I thought the price was for the room but it’s that price on the website PER PERSON. So expect to be paying a lot of money when checking out because they also charge you if you get a soda at dinner. The dinner wasn’t filling and wasn’t that good. I’m also convinced I had black mold in my room.

In a bustling but cozy little town called Zermatt, 5-8 minute walk from the train station, you will see Gems of places to see. A triad of them perfectly placed. The Catholic church, Mt. Matterhorn and of course Elsie's Wine and Champagne Bar. We were blessed to have been and seen all three. After you have seen the glorious church and have glanced at Mt.Zermatt...may I suggest letting your palate dance at Elsie's just right across the church. Chef's at Elsie's are artists, shout out to Chef Juan, we devoured his work of art. And shout out especially to our wonderful and knowledgeable server Mr. Alex. Thank you so much for working extra hours for us. We appreciate you😊🙏 May this review being more blessings your way. The place is a little bit pricey but the food and wine are superb.👌 Til our next adventure, we hope to stop by someday again. We had a fabulous meal and lovely wine here on our last night in Zermatt. We were not able to get a table outside so sat inside to wait for a table to be free…we liked it so much that we were happy to stay there! Very charming and great atmosphere. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed the oysters, steak tartare and hummus trio with delicious bread. The local wine suggestion also appreciated. A lovely way to end our holiday!

Come for the vibes, stay for the service and the food. We saw the charming outdoor seating on a sunny day, and we’re looking for a late lunch. While the indoor seating was very cozy and inviting we had to take advantage of the sun. The food significantly exceeded expectations. The meat and cheese board had a selection produced from the owners own farm in Valais, including some unusual cold cuts like one made from locally raised water buffalo. The lobster spaghetti was also an unexpected hit: a strong seafood, almost bisque-like, sauce with perfectly cooked pasta, tomatoes, and chunks of lobster meat. Expensive but one of the better lobster pastas I’ve had. The wine list was strong and they even had some non alcoholic options. Service was energetic, friendly, and genuine.

Updated January 2024: we finally came back here for dinner and we were not disappointed by the tartare and escargots. The mains were good, but not as good as the starters. We loved this place so much, that we came twice! Our hotel recommended this as a place to try local wines before dinner as it was just around the corner from the hotel. You enter to a dimly lit bar with low wooden tables and velvet chairs. It's quiet enough to chat, but loud enough to feel lively. Our first night, we only had a few glasses of wine, but our second night we came back for steak tartare and their speciality, escargots. Both were delicious and went well with the recommended wines. Next time, we'll try their restaurant as the bar staff kept raving about how good it was.
Stephanie H — Google review
High price, low standard — not worth a visit. At its core this is just a basic tavern with inflated prices. The food was rough — mains overcooked and salty, sides limp with no freshness, leaving more burden than enjoyment. The drinks were equally underwhelming: thin pours, loose body, short nose and a coarse finish, nowhere near the price point. Service added to the disappointment — staff felt careless, unprofessional, and lacking respect. Overall, a rough and overpriced experience. Once is enough.

Annoying uphill positioning but great view. We would’ve went to the pizzeria, but it was closed, so we went to the buffet instead. The food is so-so, with soup being flavorless and the bread is not fresh and stale. Pasta is okay, a bit salty, with chunky and a bit too much sauce, but the pasta is directly cooked on the spot. Schnitzel is solid, could be better. Hash brown is very well made, but gravy is too salty. There is no service as it is a self serve buffet, but the service at check out is fine, nothing special. The people making the food took a bit while to make the schnitzel.

Ok good but some of the best views of the mountain. We enjoyed the outside seating and taking the gondola up and down here. Restrooms were very clean and nice.

-20° degrees outside and the manager is telling people that they can’t eat their own food inside in the self service area, which is half empty. I would like to remind you that this place is owned by the Bergbahnen, meaning that you already pay for it when you purchase your skipass. Me and other people had bought chocolate bars and coffees, so it was not like we were actually stealing any space, but obviously the management wabts to make $$$$$ and doesn’t refrain from kicking people out even when weather conditions are flat out dangerous. A perfect example of Swiss hospitality. Shame on you, I hope someone sues you.

Visiting Shotgun in Zermatt was one of the best dining choices I’ve made in a long time. The restaurant combines outstanding food quality with an atmosphere that makes you feel genuinely welcome. The ramen was perfectly balanced, with a rich, flavourful broth and carefully prepared ingredients. But the real surprise of the evening was the sushi – incredibly fresh, creative, and easily comparable to what you’d find in top sushi bars. What made the experience even better was the incredibly friendly team – both in the kitchen and on the floor. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. I felt truly looked after, not just as a guest, but as someone they were happy to serve. It’s been a while since I’ve left a restaurant feeling this satisfied and uplifted. Shotgun Zermatt is not just about great food – it’s about the people and the passion they put into everything they do. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Very nice Japanese restaurant located in Zermatt village. We started with the Yaki Tori (Chicken Skewers). I thought they were good and I really liked the sauce that it came with. I had the Dragon Rolls for my entree. It was so cool that they lit the sauce on fire when it arrived at our table. It also tasted delicious! Service was excellent. The chef also came to our table to make sure that we enjoyed our meal.

Shogun is such a great place with a beautiful, cozy atmosphere. The open sushi bar is fun to watch, and everything is made fresh to order. We started with the miso soup, it was delicious and comforting. The ramen and dumplings were warm and full of flavor. The sushi is something special. Chef Salim puts real care into every piece. I highly recommend the hamachi roll and the dragon roll, which is flambéed with cognac right before eating super tasty and unique! Service was excellent. Dominik took great care of us and was super friendly. We had fun chatting and felt really welcome. Great food, great vibes. We’ll definitely come back!

Some aspect of the spicing and flavours were not what we’re used to and were slightly off putting. Overall a good restaurant.

We had the Miso Ramen, Chicken Karage, Salmon Avocado Roll & Salmon Teriyaki - all were great! Had a lovely time here, our server Lucas was very hospitable and gave us great recommendations for food and made us try an interesting Iced Tea as well! The ambience of the place was cozy and nice for the evening! Would definitely recommend 🫶🏼

Located in Furi, Zermatt, Restaurant Gitz-Gädi offers a variety of dishes suitable for the whole family to enjoy. The menu features traditional Swiss and Valais specialties such as fondue, rosti, steak, and Cordon Bleu. Additionally, the chef incorporates contemporary international cuisine and seasonal light food into the offerings. This rustic mountain restaurant is known for its hearty soups, four types of fondue, and classic alpine cuisine.
A group of us went for dinner after a long day of skiing since we were staying in Furi. The food was delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and classic. They have nice options for gluten and dairy free dishes! Great glühwein!

Fantastic moment with the family both at SPA and Restaurant. But hat makes the difference is the implacable service! Great staff, extremely friendly and capable. Food was excellent traditional Swiss cuisine and great selection of local wines! A must visit after a short gondola trip (to Füri) or walk from Zermatt.

We just had a small lunch, just a meat and cheese platter and apple strudel, nevertheless delicious, the apple strudel was 10/10, highly recommend that. Just a little pricey, great experience, and lovely cozy atmosphere

We had a delicious, welcoming lunch here. The white wine soup is so good I still dream about it. All of our dishes were excellent and the staff is very friendly!

We live in Zermatt most of the year and go to this amazing place regularly. Often just for a drink after skiing or in the summer for a late lunch after hiking. On 25th December we came for a Christmas lunch with the whole family, incl. 2 kids and a dog and got a great table in the corner. All the food we had was delicious and the service very efficient, despite of the restaurant being fully booked. Even when busy, one does not have the crammed feeling as in the other places because of the clever design and decoration. Thanks, Silvana team, see you soon! Update January 2024: We were there several times since the first evaluation and everytime the food & service was great. My Rösti with salmon portion today was so large, I was glad we walked up all the way from Zermatt, despite of very cold temperatures. My friends burger was delicious, too. See you soon!

Cozy, beautiful, and DELICIOUS restaurant in the Silvana Mountain Hotel. My group of friends went there for my birthday dinner and were shocked to discover that they had decorated our area with birthday lights, balloons, and streamers. They even brought in a large birthday cake with sparklers in the end - incredible service and dedication. On top of that, everything we ordered to eat and drink was extremely delicious. We were in high spirits all night. Highly, highly recommend.

An absolutely lovely restaurant. Service was impeccable, and the meal was one of our favorites during our trip to Zermatt. We walked to the restaurant from town, which took about an hour, but the restaurant provided sleds and a flashlight for us to ride back into town via the road down the mountain, so fun! This is on our list of must-visit places in Zermatt, don't miss it! Great food, gracious service, and a fun sled ride to top it all off. What more could you want?

We visited place for dinner. Food was good, nice selection of local dishes. There is extensive wine list with local wine selection. We ended up taking taxi down as the road was not ideal for sledge

Buffet Bar Sunnegga is a spot where guests can bask in sunshine from morning till night and savor local specialties with a glass of wine. The restaurant at the mountain station offers delicious meals, easily accessible by a train ride from Zermatt. With unobstructed views of the Matterhorn from its spacious terrace, it's an ideal place to dine. The self-service cafeteria-style setup includes multiple dining areas and free internet access, making it a convenient meeting point.
It’s buffet. Like cafeteria so it’s very fast to get the food. Many tables but peak season would never enough, you do the Musical chairs, finding the space. The view is amazing

Perched in the mountains of Zermatt, Sunnega offers a perfect blend of quality cuisine, a cozy atmosphere, and breathtaking views. What sets it apart is its ever-changing daily menu, featuring a diverse selection of soups, salads, and well-crafted main dishes. During our visit, the francesinha was the dish of the day, and it impressed with its authenticity and rich, balanced flavors. The restaurant’s ability to offer something new every day keeps the dining experience exciting and fresh. The service is attentive and efficient, enhancing the overall experience. Lívia made our experience at Sunnega even more special. Always attentive and professional, she shows genuine care for the customers, ensuring that every detail of the meal is perfect. Her friendliness and efficiency make all the difference, creating an even more welcoming atmosphere. She even prepared a delicious sangria for us, adding a personal touch to our meal. Whether you’re looking for a light lunch or a hearty meal in the mountains, Sunnega is a must-visit in Zermatt.

I asked the cashier if their soup was vegan, with very little expectation. To my surprise, she kindly said she didn’t want to mislead me and went straight to ask the cook. The answer came back positive — and thanks to that, we got to enjoy the most beautiful views a little longer, with a 100% confirmed vegan vegetable soup!

Terrible burned food and equally bad service. Chefs don't even try. Pay a bit more instead and go to one of the other places. Infinitely more worth it

Self service cafeteria style restaurant. Four dinning areas: out terrace with amazing view, two separate rooms on either side of the cafeteria and one room downstairs for busy days. Restrooms downstairs with a baby changing table between the restrooms and open to both genders. Free internet access. No TV. Good meeting point. Food is just okay and expensive - but this is Zermatt so it's what to be expected.

Zermatterstübli is a cozy restaurant located in the heart of Zermatt, offering a traditional Swiss alpine dining experience. The menu features an Asian-inspired selection alongside classic Swiss fondue dishes. The restaurant is known for its gooey cheese fondue, with the option to add more cheese or switch up flavors. Guests can also enjoy escargot, truffle fondue, steak, scampi, risotto and more.
Very good food and cozy atmosphere. The fondue was great as were our steaks which were perfectly cooked. The cider was also very good and not too sweet. Relatively small restaurant and like all other places we saw in Zermatt you should definitely try to make a reservation if you can, though a couple who came in early when we were there around 6:30 were able to get seats.

Special thanks to our waitress from Hungary. She was so polite and humble. Best service. The food was very nice, but when combined with amazing service , the food gets tasty.
Atanas S — Google review
one of the worse customer service and experience since arriving in switzerland (we travelled to zurich, interlaken and finally zermatt). similar to other low reviews regarding customer service where it felt like the waiters/waitress were either racist or not keen in servicing our tables. still water was also charged at 7.50CHF, quite unlike many other restaurants which charges ~5CHF. additionally for the lamb chop ordered - i had forgotten to inform my preference on the temperature. However for all the restaurants i've visited, all of the waiters had asked on our preference. My preference is well done, but i believe what was served is medium well. I was also not keen on reaching out to inform after the poor customer service experienced. We only wanted to finish the meal and leave. As we were packing up and leaving, we also felt unwanted stares from the service staff (waiters/waitresses and bartender) at the bar counter. Such an unpleasant experience for a beautiful place in zermatt.
Sherry C — Google review
This was the best restaurant we ate at over 10 days in Switzerland. To start the escargot flavors were beyond wine and garlic, they are some of most tender delicious morsels I have ever had. The truffle fondue was so flavorful. We recommend you order for 1, you can always add more cheese to your pot or switch up flavors! Steak was cooked to perfection and a great pairing with the fondue served with home made a gratin cheesy potatoes. Maria and her staff were super kind and attending, thank you. Don’t be afraid to eat early as this place will fill up!
Elaina J — Google review
Cozy little restaurant we walked into after we were looking for a place to have fondue. Aside from fondue, they offer selections of local meat like beef, veal, and lamb. The restaurant itself gave off a very traditional feel. Ordered a fondue and it was very tasty and had a strong wine flavour, although the bread was a little hard. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place to experience local Swiss cuisine!
Chloe L — Google review
We visited this restaurant hoping to enjoy a classic Swiss cheese fondue experience as a group of four. Since most of us are lactose intolerant, we planned to share a single fondue pot—just enough to enjoy the tradition without overdoing it. Unfortunately, the staff informed us that there was a strict minimum of three fondue orders, even though we explained our dietary limitations. There was no flexibility or willingness to accommodate our needs, which felt unnecessarily rigid. When we asked if we could simply share one fondue and order drinks or sides, we were told we’d have to choose other full meals from the menu instead. It felt more like a push to increase the bill than genuine hospitality. To add to the frustration, we were surprised by a $9.50 charge for still water, which was never mentioned upfront. We weren’t particularly hungry, but felt pressured to order more than we wanted just to stay seated. Overall, the lack of understanding and transparency made the experience feel transactional rather than welcoming. If you're looking for a place that values customer comfort and flexibility, this may not be the best choice.

McDonald's is a well-known fast-food chain famous for its burgers and fries. In Zermatt, there are various dining options, including McDonald's, which offers affordable meals. However, it's recommended to explore the Swiss/Italian cuisine available in town as well. While some visitors found the food at McDonald's surprisingly enjoyable, others noted limited gluten-free options and occasional unavailability of specific menu items.
Crispy chicken bacon was delicious and portions were great. Fries tasted like back home in Canada. They have a decent 2 for 5 deals too (we got the apple pie + 4 piece chicken nuggets). Service was fast, staff was helpful and friendly.
Esther S — Google review
An unusual McDonald’s designed in the style of an Alpine chalet. The atmosphere is pleasant, clean, and neat. There aren’t many seats, so it can be hard to find a free table during peak hours. Prices are higher than in regular McDonald’s locations, but the food is standard — same taste, no surprises. The restroom is free to use, which is a nice touch. If you’re in the mood for fast food in a “rustic” setting, it’s worth a visit — just don’t expect any culinary revelations.

Most expensive McDonald’s in the world apparently but quite worth it. All ingredients were local and beef is grass-fed. They even had a special Swiss cheese burger, which I ordered and really liked. A different feel from McDonald’s elsewhere.

I would this is one of the cutest McDonald's store, it combines our familiar international food with the cozy look of Swiss Chalets. Food was good and prices reasonable.
R. J — Google review
The McDonald’s in Zermatt, Switzerland, offers a unique dining experience that blends the familiarity of the global fast-food chain with the charm of an Alpine setting. Located in the heart of Zermatt, this McDonald’s stands out with its wooden chalet-style exterior, reflecting the traditional Swiss architecture that characterizes the region. Inside, the restaurant maintains the clean, modern design typical of McDonald’s, but with the added warmth and coziness that comes from the mountain town ambiance. The menu includes all the classic McDonald’s items, but with a local twist, such as seasonal Swiss specialties that are occasionally featured. Whether you’re grabbing a quick meal before heading out to explore the Matterhorn or looking for a familiar option in a foreign country, the Zermatt McDonald’s provides reliable service, clean facilities, and a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. It’s particularly popular among both tourists and locals for its convenience, making it a go-to spot for a quick bite in this picturesque Swiss village.
Shiue — Google review
This was the priciest McDonald’s meal I’ve ever had, but the comfort of something familiar made it totally worth it. I’m one happy bunny!
JCNL T — Google review
If you’re exploring Europe and craving a familiar taste with a twist, this McDonald’s might just be the spot you’re looking for. I visited in June 2024, and unlike the often dry burgers and shrinking portions of fries found in other countries, this place genuinely delivered a satisfying meal. Each burger was juicy and flavorful, with fries that were perfectly crispy—exactly as they should be. But it’s not just about the food; the ambiance added an extra charm. The upstairs area, decorated with warm wood finishes and comfortable sofas, created a cozy and inviting vibe that made the meal even more enjoyable. It’s a refreshing alternative to the typically pricey Swiss dining options, providing a great mix of quality and affordability. So, if you’re in the area and want something delicious without breaking the bank, this McDonald’s is definitely worth a visit. It proves that even fast food can offer a memorable experience when done right.

Stumbled upon this lovely place and there was a queue. It was one of their busiest timings but we were seated within 5 minutes! I was there around 10 am Sat, a lady serving customers were rude. She raised her voice when I asked a same question twice because I did not understand her well. All the 3 I bought was very average. We both thought this was the best place we went to for food/snacks/treats in Zermatt. Lovely atomosphere, really nice staff and the chocolate ganache cake was THE best ganache cake we have ever had. Loads to choose from and a great atomosphere. Only grumble would be that it is a cafe/cake shop with chocolate so the Hot Chocolate should be a bona fide made before it hits the table hot chocolate, not another cup of hot milk with a sachet of powdered instant hot chocolate poured on top of the milk

The food looks exquisite and there are many options, but the staff’s attitude is very poor. In the morning, I went to buy some bread with my dog. I told the saleswoman what I wanted, but she didn’t take the bread for me—instead, she told me that dogs are not allowed here, in a rather dismissive and unfriendly way. There’s another branch of the same bakery in town, and I’ve never had any problems buying bread there with my dog. I’ve also seen other people bring their dogs. It seems that this particular saleswoman was being discriminatory.

Vivanda - sapori mediterranei is an authentic Italian restaurant that prides itself on using original, fresh, and homemade Italian ingredients and cooking methods. I came with my family here last night and we totally liked this restaurant! It looks very classy and the atmosphere is really nice. The service was tiptop too! Food was good but not amazing. Small salad was fancy in its presentation but unremarkable in its ingredients and flavor. Pesto pasta was a bit bland but large serving. Service was great and interesting building.
Amy — Google review
When we arrived at the restaurant, the reception asked whether we had a reservation and we said no. The staff went up to check with the restaurant and informed us that it would be at least a half hour before a table would be ready (despite us seeing two couples leaving the restaurant at the time), and suggested we enjoy some aperitifs first while waiting at their cocktail bar. Little did we know, shortly after the aperitifs came (which was around 5 minutes after we ordered), the waiter told us that our table was ready. We asked to bring our drinks to the restaurant, but were told we were not allowed to do so, which the staff never told us about beforehand. We had no choice but to finish our drinks quickly, which makes the whole experience less than enjoyable. We subsequently went into the restaurant for our meal, and realised that there were at least two 2-persons table, and a 6-people table which were empty. This was peculiar since the restaurant was allegedly full. We ordered a salad, grilled fillet and the shrimp risotto, which we specifically told the waiter we wanted the smaller portion. The waiter also repeated our order correctly. When paying the bill, we realised that we have been overcharged and asked the waiter whether the price of 39 CHF was for the small risotto. He said this was for the regular size and that he was a bit “confused” when he took the order, which was surprising since we heard him repeat our order correctly. All in all, not the best experience.

Restaurant Du Pont was recommend by our hotel. It also happens to be our first meal for dinner at Zermatt. Their local specialty is cheese fondue with bread and potato. The waiter serving us was Vitor from Brazil. He was super! A friendly person who was accommodating when I requested for chilli and he offered me freshly made chilli flakes which is very spicy. Vitor is person who made our overall dining experience pleasant. The waiting time for the food is fast, about 5-15 minutes. Overall, we spent CHF 83.00 for a meal for 2 persons. Nestled within the Hotel Post complex in Zermatt, Cheese Factory is a quirky and family-friendly restaurant offering a diverse menu. The funky decor spans several floors, creating a fun atmosphere with great service. Guests can savor Swiss specialties like raclette, fondue, and spaetzle while enjoying local wine and beer. Despite its hidden location near Schweizerhof Zermatt hotel, the Cheese Factory is a culinary gem that provides an unexpectedly refined dining experience away from typical tourist spots.
After a long day on the slopes, a cheese fondue is well deserved. I did some research on the best fondue in Zermatt, and many people recommended Cheese Factory. Located in the heart of Zermatt, this underground restaurant offers a traditional and cozy atmosphere that perfectly matches the Swiss dining experience. We tried two different fondues, both excellent, but the truffle fondue stood out—it was the best fondue I’ve ever had. If you’re in Zermatt, you absolutely have to try their Swiss fondue!

During my stay at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Zermatt, I had the pleasure of dining at their in-house restaurant, the Cheese Factory — and it was a highlight of my trip. As the name suggests, this cozy and beautifully designed restaurant specializes in traditional Swiss cheese dishes, and the fondue, in particular, was absolutely exceptional. The ambiance of the Cheese Factory is warm and inviting, with rustic Alpine decor that perfectly complements the mountain setting. It feels both upscale and authentically Swiss, making it an ideal place for an evening meal after a day of exploring the village or the slopes. I ordered the classic cheese fondue, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The cheese blend was rich, creamy, and full of flavor, served with fresh bread and a variety of sides that paired beautifully. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the care put into preparation. The service was also outstanding — friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The staff took the time to explain the menu and even recommended wine pairings for the fondue, which enhanced the experience even more. If you’re in Zermatt and looking to indulge in authentic Swiss cuisine, the Cheese Factory is a must-visit. I’ll definitely return on my next trip.

My fiance had the Kalbsbratwurst mit Rösti, mit oder ohne Zwiebelsauce (Veal sausage, Rösti with or without onion sauce) and said it was amazing as well! Pricey, but worth it, 10/10!! Only recommendation, the music was a bit funky although I assume it is traditional to the culture. It was just pretty hyper. And the restaurant is very warm inside as it is underground.

The most delicious fondue I've ever ate! Veggies and bread are also great. The restaurant has a classic style. Really appreciate the staff's friendliness. location is amazing. Strongly advised

Republic Zermatt is a popular burger bar in Zermatt known for its lively atmosphere, live sports coverage, and an extensive selection of local and international beers. While it may not offer many options for vegetarians, it has gained recognition for its delicious veggie burger featuring a sweet potato patty. The restaurant is frequented by both vegetarians and non-vegetarians who come to savor this culinary masterpiece.
Absolutely the Best Burgers in the Region After a string of disappointing meals at other local spots, Republic Zermatt completely restored our faith in the food scene here. The burgers are simply the best we've had in the entire region—juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The burger buns were really delicious. The fries deserve a special shout-out: fresh, crispy, and actually tasting like real potatoes. Unlike the bland, spongy fries served at some of the mountain restaurants like Trockener Steg, Schwarzsee, or Klein Matterhorn, these are the real deal. Thank you, Republic, for using what genuinely seems to be actual potatoes and not frozen, factory-produced GMO fluff. Their beer selection is also impressive, with a wide variety on tap and in bottles to suit every taste. The staff were friendly, relaxed, and easy to interact with—none of the stiff, awkward service we've encountered elsewhere in Zermatt’s more old-fashioned medieval restaurants, including the super-expensive ones. Even after a 15-minute walk back to our hotel, the burgers were still fresh and delicious. The vibe inside the bar is warm, welcoming, and full of character. All in all, Republic Zermatt is a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality food, great drinks, and a laid-back atmosphere. Everything seems to be reasonably priced and definitely worth it !

Amazing fries and house salad! The fries and the spicy mayo dip was really good! And the duck house salad taste v good and was a genuine surprise. Burger is good, buttery and spongy brioche, though the beef is a bit too dried. Highly recommended :)

Delicious burgers & fries, friendly service. Those in our party enjoyed the veggie burger "Mr Bean", also Le Burger, Caesar Salad, and Lord Bacon. They have a nice outdoor seating area, but there wasn't a table for our party of five, so we sat inside, which was clean and comfortable.

I came to Switzerland for the chocolate and cheese… but somehow, a burger just changed my life. I’m from Louisiana—food is basically our love language—so believe me when I say: this thing was divine. I wasn’t ready. I think I blacked out somewhere between the first bite and the happy food tears. Money well spent!

We went by around 5pm and they could only give us an 8:15pm reservation which was okay and we were willing to wait. Two of us had the El Mariachi burger and one had the Mr. Bean burger. Everything was amazing. The burgers are pretty good sized and I couldn’t even finish my side. We had some minor customizations (jalapenos on the side, etc) that weren’t entirely followed but the server mentioned the kitchen didn’t do well with any changes. Their homemade iced tea was great as well. We very much enjoyed all the food and this was one of our favorite restaurants!

Excellent burgers with chunky patties that are perfectly cooked. We got three different burgers, the sweet potato fries and regular fries - all of it was very good. They have gluten free buns for their burgers and the gluten free rice beer is excellent.
Jacob C — Google review
We enjoyed dinner at this restaurant, and the burgers were large, accompanied by a generous serving of fries. I chose the house salad, which was fantastic, bursting with flavor, and the dressing had a delightful tangy spice that paired perfectly with the carrots, cucumbers, and nuts. The brownie and ice cream were very good but different from what we are accustomed, the dark chocolate and nuts complemented well. Our server was incredibly attentive, refilling our water jug multiple times.

Aussies here, and have been travelling Switz, for a few days and can confirm that there burgers were delicious! We all know the Aussie dollar to swiss franks is shit, but the burger is worth it. The ladies at the bar/ waiters were soo lovely & bloody gorgeous! ☺️

MANUD is a newly established café in the heart of Zermatt, offering Asian fusion cuisine made with local and seasonal ingredients. The café is a popular spot for friends to gather for lunch, coffee, cake, or evening drinks. Visitors have praised the friendly and enthusiastic staff who provide warm and welcoming service. The menu offers diverse options that cater to different preferences, and the food is described as delicious and well-presented. Despite being busy, the service is fast and efficient.
We visited as a group of 8 and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming, immediately making us feel at home. The atmosphere was cosy and charming, perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable time. The menu was diverse and offered something for everyone, all of us found dishes to our liking. When the food was served, it was beautifully presented, and the flavours were simply delightful - no one at our table had a single complaint. My wife and I shared the summer salad topped with lemon ginger chicken, and it was an absolute highlight. The salad was fresh and crisp, bursting with vibrant flavours, while the chicken was juicy, tender, and packed with a delicious zest from the lemon and ginger seasoning. We finished with a waffle for dessert, and it was the perfect sweet ending - light, fluffy. What truly made our visit memorable was the thoughtful gesture from the staff. One of our friends was celebrating a birthday the next day, and they surprised us with a candle in the waffle and a cheerful birthday song. It was a heartwarming touch that added to the charm of the evening.

Manud in Zermatt is a great find, especially for those with dietary preferences, as vegetarian, lactose-free, and gluten-free options are very clearly indicated on the menu. We tried their vegetarian Tom Kha Curry with tofu and a side of rice, along with the vegetarian Chinese Noodles. Both were flavorful, though we found them a little on the salty side. The staff were attentive and friendly, let us pick our own table, and our food arrived quickly. The atmosphere seems very relaxed, with people enjoying iced tea and hanging out - it definitely has a great vibe for unwinding. Highly recommended if you're seeking good vegetarian or vegan food in Zermatt.

Great spot for Fusion Asian food! I especially love the teriyaki poke bowl. The restaurant offers the best view and has such a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Sudatip P — Google review
It was a lovely change of pace to have some Asian fusion food instead of the usual Swiss or Italian fare, and Manud did not disappoint! The Tom Kha soup was very good, and all of the coffee and matcha drinks were quite good as well. Would recommend for those seeking something different in Zermatt.

Recommended restaurant to dine in. Fantastic Food reasonably priced. If Japanese Rice bowl is ordered, asked for sauce aside and add in accordance to your taste. Rice was soaking wet with sauce when served to me and I cannot take the overwhelming taste. Restaurant had very kindly remade a bowl with sauce aside and it worked well for me. Best ever cheese cake and waffle I had. Don’t miss it ! Thanks for the good service !

Everything was so amazing! The food, the service, the design...10/10. Finally a great place in Zermatt. We are obsessed :)
Adrienn P — Google review
Unexpected gem! We came here because another restaurant we wanted to try was closed and we stumbled across this place. The bahn mi was amazing! The focaccia wasn’t as good, given that it was similarly priced, but I still enjoyed it!
Félix B — Google review
Service was quite disappointing. When we asked the staff what’s included in the kids’ rice bowl, she simply said “everything on the menu” without making any effort to explain. As parents, we care about what our child eats and expected a clearer answer. The food was also below average , the so-called rice bowl was basically just salad with rice, not what we expected at all. Strongly not recommended.

Pavillon Zermatt offers a diverse selection of food and beverages suitable for various occasions, from quick morning coffees to family gatherings or work lunches. The friendly service and accommodating staff make it a welcoming spot for visitors with special requests, especially those with children. Guests praise the delicious hotdogs and exceptional bread, as well as the picturesque Matterhorn view from the terrace.
The Pavillion is a great place with a wonderful view of the Matterhorn and a children’s playground nearby, it’s an ideal place to have lunch. The food was tasty and the service was very attentive. One of the highlights is watching the ice skaters glide across the rink while sipping on a delicious hot chocolate. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even rent a pair of skates and give it a try yourself! This is a great place to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. Highly recommend!

Great area for a meal, great views and a kid friendly area. The service was great, very pleasant experience. Decent selections in their menu, keep in mind the earlier closing times when planning. The food was good/okay, not authentic, for a foodie purist the Cubano was definitely short of what was expected. The sides were sides, I was hoping for homade mozzarella sticks, but they were just generic. The value of the meal was pretty on point, wasn't dissatisfied overall. I think I would go for the brisket next time.
R C — Google review
The Brisket sandwich was great. Good prices. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly service. Great views of the Matterhorn.

Such a cute spot with the best food and affordable prices! We loved our meal here and the banana split was great!

I’ll be sad when it closes for renovations. The new menu is wonderful! This is definitely a favourite spot for views & relaxing through the afternoon. Here a Hot Dog, though the daily soup is always a hit!

A nice patio in the middle of a square overlooking the Matterhorn. Great spot for lunch! We had the nachos and fries and few spritz’s and beers.

Requested tap water x 3 . The waiter brought 3 glasses of water to the table . The water was still not gas or mineral water . Charged 4.40 Swiss francs for tap water . This restaurant takes advantage of tourist who really don’t have the knowledge to decline as we were not told that tap water in Zermatt is as much as a small beer. What a rip off . Many other restaurants in town do not take advantage of tourists . GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Pix of bill included

Nestled in the Riffelalp Resort high above Zermatt, Restaurant Alexandre offers a truly awe-inspiring dining experience with its inventive international cuisine and outstanding service. The lack of formality adds to the delightful ambiance, making it an ideal place to spend an evening. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere and spectacular view of the Matterhorn create a romantic Alpine setting for enjoying exquisite regional and Mediterranean specialties.
We booked for a wedding registry dinner for 8 of us and it was a perfect evening. From arrival and going up on the train to the location, the service and the food, everything was wonderful. My partner and I had the Chateaubriand which was cooked perfectly. I had also requested for a lemon wedding cake which really surpassed what we imagined it would be! I wish we could have stayed at the resort, but hopefully we get the chance to return and do so some day. Thank you for making our evening so special!

Breakfast was so delicious. The hotel staff were also very friendly. when you come to Switzerland, you must try yogurt 🫕

Alexandre is a fine dining establishment located within the Riffelalp Resort, with smartly dressed and eloquent servers. Expect fine dining level of service matched with the price, with main dishes costing about CHF30 to CHF60 for ala carte. There are also courses meal for at least CHF80 per pax. Despite us being poor peasants, the staff of the restaurant were still very welcoming and treated us nicely. We ordered the potato soup, risotto and pork belly, all of them tasted superb and filling. Cost us about CHF 102 together with a milkshake. Reservation is a must, so make sure to not walk in.
