Sternen Grill + Sternen Grill Restaurant im oberen Stock is a renowned fast-food outlet in Zurich, serving up delicious grilled bratwurst sausages with bread rolls, roast chicken, and drinks. At lunchtime, the line for their legendary take-out bratwurst sausages extends along a neighboring street but moves quickly due to the limited menu options. Most patrons opt for the freshly grilled veal sausage or pork-based Cervelat.
I had a great experience at Sterner Grill in Zurich. Downstairs they offer a more relaxed takeaway or bar-like setting that’s perfect for a quick bite, while the second floor feels more like a restaurant with an amazing view—cozy, welcoming, and ideal if you want to sit and enjoy. The service was excellent throughout. I especially enjoyed the Swiss white wine by the glass, and the veal sausage with the famous Bürli was simply perfect. The different salads were also outstanding—each one better than the last. The location is very convenient, the pricing is fair for the area, and the overall atmosphere makes it a place I’d happily return to. Authentic flavors, warm service, and a setting that adapts to both quick stops and relaxed comfy meal. Almost forgot! we had a dessert w merengue and yogurt ice cream w red berries sorbet that was to die for!

Their specialty is sausages. When I tried them, I loved them. The only problem was that the bread was EXTREMELY hard (inedible), and the sauce was too spicy. It's traditional food there, but I would never return to this restaurant, and it's very expensive.

We ate at the sit down restaurant style Sternen Grill upstairs, it was probably my favorite meal in Switzerland. The staff was so friendly upon our arrival. They even saw us struggling with the menu and pointed out the QR code we could scan for English. Our server Marcel was so helpful! He helped us choose the best options and making sure what we did and didn’t need. And he was right! Everything was so delicious. Then he offered a Grappa with dessert, which we never had before and loved it!!

It's another restaurant that people say is hard to catch because you need to queue. Actually, the queue is about 10 people long with approximately a 10-minute wait - not very long because the queue moves quickly. After eating, I was quite indifferent - nothing impressive. It's just ordinary sausage, not bad. I ordered three pieces for about 30 CHF. The restaurant is located on the main street and not difficult to find. If you're asking whether it's worth visiting, it's not really necessary - it's like any other regular sausage.

Whenever I have business in Zurich, I try to make a quick stop here. My favorite spot is the outdoor terrace on the second floor overlooking the bustling Bellevueplatz. Seating is limited; it's first come, first served. The service was always attentive and friendly. I can recommend everything on the menu, from the simple Swiss veal sausage and the seasonal salad to the hearty Zurich veal strips with rösti or fresh veal liver. Naturally, the wine list is meticulous and well-chosen. Like everything in Zurich, this comes at a price. Don't be alarmed, just enjoy! See you soon, perhaps? Just to mention, I've had today a Cesars Salad with chicken, some sparkling water and 20cl Pino Grigio weisswein...CHF 50.- plus a 10% tip. The sauce could have come with a bit more "Raffinesse", but was ok.
Adrian B — Google review
Yes, it is fast food but it is delicious and definitely tastier and fresher than any other average fast food option there. Especially appreciated on Sundays when everything is closed and you can just stop for a quick bite in a very central location. The prices are insanely reasonable considering it’s Zurich and the centre of town and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. 🌭 💖

Terrible experience last October 6, 2025 at around 8:30pm. My friend and I paid for our drinks and we decided to just get the drink later on while they prepare our hotdogs. The reason for this is that we don’t want the drinks to be warm after they finished preparing our food. Then the guy working at that time, who appears to be of South American origin, accused us of not paying. This is in front of other customers. The other staff there can confirm that we did pay for our drinks and we were charged for the payment but for some reason he didn’t even confirm with his co-staff. The nerve to embarrass us for just a drink is beyond despicable. Their approach is certainly unprofessional and unacceptable. They definitely did not have the right customer service training on how to verify a transaction based on their point of sale machine if we, did not pay. They will just resort to accusations. I am not recommending this restaurant due to our experience. Terrible treatment of customers. This also reflects on how management trains them. Poor service and customer relations.

A true gem in Zurich - it’s got my golden seal of approval! You owe it to yourself to check it out. Don’t be scared off by the long line at the entrance – the service is so fast that in just 5 minutes, you’ll already be ordering. No joke, this might just be some of the best sausages I’ve ever eaten. We tried both the veal and pork options, and they were both an absolute delight. The bread is magical. It’s super crunchy on the outside and might seem a bit hard at first, but the inside is soft and plays a key role in your overall experience at this restaurant. Watch out for the mustard! It seems like it’s a bit of a local legend. We were warned by our guide that it could be quite spicy, and she wasn’t kidding. You might feel your life flash before your eyes when you try it. It’s definitely not for everyone, but you simply can’t leave without giving it a shot. If I ever return to Zurich, this spot will undoubtedly be one of my first stops.

In Zurich, there's a must-visit bakery called John Baker, co-owned by Jens Jung, who hails from a family of bakers and trained at San Francisco's Tartine. The bakery follows Swiss traditions in crafting artisanal breads with an emphasis on organic ingredients and an eco-friendly approach. With two locations at Helvetiaplatz and Stadelhofen, John Baker offers a delectable array of sandwiches, pastries, and coffee for take-out.
The croissant omelette was just out of this world! First time tasting such quality food. I recommend anyone travelling to Zurich to stop by this bakery. Don't get terrified of the price, its value is worth every single cent!

Unfortunately, this sourdough bread was quite disappointing. Probably not the best sourdough bread. It’s packed with flour and completely lacks the light, airy texture good sourdough should have — instead, it’s dense and heavy like a rock. The taste didn’t make up for it either. I really didn’t enjoy it and wouldn’t buy it again.

Perfect for a quick coffee and croissant. The cashier was patient& swift, even though an elderly customer was rather unfriendly& pushy. There is a small corner inside to sit down& most wonderful smell of fresh bread. Outside are the best spots to listen to the birds& watch the bussy people rush by.

This was where we got breakfast. This place is excellent. Inside, there was a huge selection of food, such as brioche, brioche Au chocolate, cheese cake, croissant and more! It looked very tasty. The staff were quick and prompt to respond our order. Outside, we were sat at a small table, with a view of the street. The food tasted brilliant, tasty and easy to eat. We would definitely go again!!!

High quality bakery with a great selection of products. Pasties made with organic flour and many intriguing vegetarian options, not easily found in other stores. Beetroot sandwich and smoke wood carrot sandwich were delicious. Interiors very warm and staff extremely helpful and friendly.

Service provided by a lady named Sabrina was excellent. Apparently she is new here. Breads and pastries were delicious and with very high quality. Coffee was great too. John Baker and Sabrina made my day. Thank you!

I usually like everything i purchase from brioche bread to sandwiches, sweet pastries etc, and i am quite a regular customer as i am not a fan of supermarket baked goods, but the sourdough bread i got last week was a huge disappointment. Flat, and super dense, hope they manage to sort it out as surely someone in the kitchen must have noticed this isn’t right..

Gasthof Falken is a multilevel space featuring a European restaurant, live music stage for regular concerts, and event spaces. Visitors have raved about the creative and fresh food, with special mentions of the veggie & vegan dishes and the game menu. The service has been described as caring, friendly, professional, and attentive. The staff's knowledge of the food and their relaxed approach have also been appreciated.
Amazing experience to visit this restaurant! The veggie & vegan dishes are tasteful. The parmigiana is one of the best … if my Italian wife from the Neapolitan area says so, it must be true. Love the friendly and professional service. Thank you guys, see you next time. 🙏🏻

After walking by earlier in the day and seeing the full patio I decided to come back for dinner. The patio is definitely the best part. Ordered the trout and the veal. Also got the cheese plate as an appetizer. Cheese plate was the best. The mustard jam (or whatever it was) was perfect. I wish they sold it by the jar. The trout was good. Everything else was not memorable. Service was really slow. The table next to us ordered two minutes before us and finished their meal before our food came out despite having similar dishes. It’s definitely a slow long meal here.
Daniel H — Google review
Saturday evening, 4 people, a nice table near Schmiede Wiedikon station. Warm, welcoming vibe, felt like dinner at a friend’s place. Inside mixes chic design with that classic Swiss Beiz feeling, very clean and professionally run. Service was superb and the wine selection is strong. Reasons for 4 instead of 5 stars: the rösti was too dry with a slightly burned top, the risotto was their own interpretation using regular rice, and the meat portion was on the small side. Overall, a charming spot, will be back and can definitely recommend.
Baris Ö — Google review
A cozy restaurant, with super friendly service. The food was excellent. The dishes feature locally sourced ingredients. Highly recommended!
Dmitri P — Google review
Absolutely classic European experience. Top shelf service, chill euro ambience, modern take on traditional dishes. Very reasonable prices and quality ingredients. Highly recommended and gorgeous terrace seating.Roman our waiter is the best!

Really great bratwurst plate, good beer and in an easy to access by train part of the city.
Eric S — Google review
Traditional Swiss fare in a gorgeous old school building. We came for the “Wild” (game season is a big deal in Switzerland), and we were not disappointed. Excellent wine menu.
Leena S — Google review
One of the most friendly staff. Food are good, they have currently a game menu, I had the reh-hufschnitzel. It was really good! They have also their normal menu but I wanted to try their wild menu. They have also a good choice of small dessert which is really nice because the main dishes are generally huge so we could just have something small and sweet and not feel too full. We will go again this summer to enjoy their terrace!

Located at Longstreet Plaza, Palestine Grill is a family-run food stand offering a variety of Palestinian specialties such as falafel, sabich, and shish taouk. In addition to their stationary location, they also operate a food truck that can be found at various food festivals across Switzerland and offers take-away lunches every Thursday at ETH Zurich.
Finally a proper falafel sandwich in Europe! We got the veggie and chicken sandwiches too—all delicious! Viva Palestine!

The best Shish Tawook Sandwiches I have ever ate in Europe, much recommended as the staff are great!

An amazing place in the middle of Zürich. The food is tasty, the sizes are good and the prices are very reasonable. The shop is nicely decorated from outside and has a few spots to each on site, not only take away.

Nice place at Langstrasse with good food. The service is friendly and food is fresh.

%100 authentic real Palestinian Falafel . Don’t judge from the shop corner set , acutely it gives it more vibe . I had Falafel Plate with salad and Tahenah as dressing , you can add Hummus instead of the dressing , and for the drink Mango & Ginger house blind . Food & drink is excellent . Staff are super friendly & helpful. Must try the Falafels there ( Warped or Plated ).

Good quick snack, tasty dish. Note that the place doesn't have a covered place but some tables in front of the shop. I didn't like the fact that chicken meat was cold, but the mix and tastes were goos.
George A — Google review
Such a disgraceful food. I don’t know how this restaurant even got 1 start. I think they should have a control and shut this place down. Disgusting, non eatable! I would not give this food to my dog.
Nikita N — Google review
This place was usually very good but they don’t have good hygienic standards. One time I had the chicken wrap and it was a bit undercooked but then today I received a completely undercooked chicken wrap. They offered to replace it but I was not hungry anymore.

Restaurant
Zeughauskeller is a must-visit restaurant in Zurich, housed in a 15th-century building with oak beams and historic artifacts. It offers rustic Swiss dishes and draft beers, making it a popular spot for locals and professionals. The menu features traditional Swiss German fare like sausages, sauerkraut, and the famous rosti.
One of two, the best places I've eaten. The old build was absolutely amazing shape for the age, it was incredible. The food was great. Also had great service which is something considering its Switzerland, which is not known for being overly friendly. I was told by a friend who had been there in the 70's and to try the pork knuckle- why change something that's almost perfect I guess.
Brandon D — Google review
This was such a great place to eat. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly, and the inside of the restaurant is interesting. I do recommend a reservation as we had to wait in line to be seated, and we were seated at a table split with another party of two (which was fine for us, but isn’t for everyone). I did also overhear from another group that bigger parties cannot always be seated without a reservation during their peak dinner time, roughly 6-8pm.
Paige B — Google review
I visited this restaurant three times during my stay, both for lunch and dinner and everything I tried was fantastic! - Pumpkin Soup: One of the best I’ve ever had , light, interesting, and full of flavor. - Chicken Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce: Perfectly thin and crispy on the outside, juicy inside. The sauce was creamy with a hint of lemon, absolutely delicious! - Rösti: Good but a bit dry for my liking. - Macaroni from their vegetarian options: Made with cheese, potatoes, and caramelized onions. light, comforting, and so good! The atmosphere is super charming, full of character and history. If you’re in a small group, you’ll likely share a table with others, which actually makes it more fun! We ended up having great conversations with our table neighbors :) Can’t wait to come back!
Maral C — Google review
Lovely place. Extremely busy. Huge restaurant with a staff of circa 80. The front of house team were brilliant. Definitely worth booking although it was a lucky tourist find. The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. The building was old and had been around since 1450+/- which is impressive. Generous time at the table. Beer 🍻 was great. The 1L glasses are heavy when full 😂.
T C — Google review
Interesting place. It’s an old military arsenal which was converted to a restaurant in 1926. Food was slightly above average but the atmosphere kind of felt like a Disney dining hall. Small parties are required to share tables with others. Weiner Schnitzel and Rösti (hash brown)were average. The pumpkin soup special was above average.
John B — Google review
Very busy place. If one don’t have a reservation, be expected to be sharing a table. Atmosphere is great, loud and lively. There is a meal for 2, which includes sausage on a sword. Looks amazing but portion looks big :)
Veronica C — Google review
So let's start, it's simple food, the delicious food is the food you need, from the meat burger to the vegan burger, from the sausages and ham to the pork shank, we didn't miss a single dish, we skipped dessert because there was no room in our stomachs, and the waiter who was with us was simply lovely, explaining and suggesting what to eat. All in all, simple and very tasty home-cooked food.
Chen S — Google review
Food was good and tasty. Place too noisy, can hardly hear what my dinner partner is saying. Service was poor. After the waiter took our card out from the machine, he just threw onto the table.

Located in the heart of Niederdorf's main square, Hirschenplatz, Swiss Chuchi Restaurant offers a modern and airy ambiance with traditional Swiss decor. The menu features a variety of home-cooked national specialties including Zurcher Geschnetzeltes, Rosti, Leberli, bratwurst, schnitzel, and battered fish with French fries and tartar sauce. In addition to these classics, the restaurant also serves fondue and raclette year-round.
One of the most popular european place for visitors to eat. Loved the food.. amazing recommendation by servers. My waitress was superb, never felt I am eating alone on my solo trip. The wait list is always long so go early. I think all selections are superb. Would definitely go next time in the town.
Krati — Google review
We showed up without a reservation and even though the place was packed, they found us a table really quickly. The service was excellent, and the fondue (the main reason we came) was absolutely spectacular, worth every penny! We also ordered a ribeye, but honestly it wasn’t our favorite, mainly because of the size and flavor (in America we’re used to larger portions, so my husband felt this one was a bit small). Other than that, the place is super cozy and the staff was really attentive. Like everything in Zurich, you do have to keep the prices in mind, but it’s totally worth it for the fondue experience. We ordered a fondue for three plus individual main dishes, and it was perfect.
Carmen S — Google review
Great place. This is the place for fondue on Zurich. Hands down! Started with pumpkin soup which is seasonal. It had roasted pumpkin seeds which added to the taste. Had typical fondue with bread and potatoes. Perfect consistency throughout. We got the mild cheese but they had many stronger variations. Topped dinner off with the banana split which was served with warm chocolate sauce. Amazing! Finally, service was well above average. Our server, Alex, was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!
John B — Google review
I have been waiting to eat fondue in Zurich and we were not disappointed. Adler’s Swiss Chuchi was excellent! The flavor of the muiti-muiti fondue was delicious with unlimited bread. We also had onion soup with baked pastry and meat board. All cooked to perfection. The pastry on top of the onion soup was light and flaky and the soup was a delicate balance of onions and broth. Enjoyed it immensely!! Our server Tobias was friendly and attentive, and gave us wonderful food suggestions. Thank you.
Gina B — Google review
We had the classic cheese fondue and it came with a huge basket of bread. The cheese was fragrant with wine. We added grilled chicken. We had the Rosti with egg n cheese. Rosti was not crispy though Overall experience was fine. Nothing too fancy but I guess its quintessential swiss meal have re the fondue. We wanted a seat inside but do not have. Asked about how long it would take, the host , without checking inside, just told us she does not know. She could have checked the inside and let us have an idea. In the end we sat outside

⭐ 3/5 – Famous Cheese Fondue Spot in Zurich 🧀🇨🇭 🍽️ What We Ordered We came here to try the local cheese fondue, ordered the non-alcohol version, and added pickled vegetables and diced beef as side dishes. Do note that each person must order a main dish according to their table rule. 💧 Drinks & Prices The waiter asked if we preferred still or sparkling water — both are chargeable at CHF 9.50 per bottle. The cheese fondue costs CHF 36.50 per person, and since we only ordered three mains, we had to take two pax portions (CHF 73) for fondue. 💰 Food & Value The fondue was creamy and flavorful, but honestly, the price is on the higher side compared to portion size. 🕐 Timing & Queue We arrived around 11:50 AM, and a queue was already forming before the restaurant opened. We waited about 10 minutes to get a table. 👩‍🍳 Service Service could be improved. We noticed that some staff seemed to be racism, so we waited longer even though we arrived earlier. It was slightly disappointing ✨ Overall A nice place to experience traditional Swiss cheese fondue, but not a must-visit. There might be better spots in Zurich offering similar fondue with warmer service and better value.
Tiffany C — Google review
Honestly, this place is not just overrated, it’s hyper overrated. The fondue cheese isn’t any different from the cheese you can find at street markets, especially during the Christmas season. They give you a portion of bread with the fondue, but it’s nothing impressive, actually, it’s hard. And the side dishes like the meats and chicken are reheated. They don’t taste bad, but they’re definitely not freshly made, which is what you’d expect for the price. It’s not an expensive place for Switzerland’s standards or even for Zurich in general, but it’s definitely a place I wouldn’t return to, and it is absolutely over-rated. It’s one of those experiences you can easily skip. We’ve had way better food on the street. It’s not a memorable place at all, it honestly feels like any random restaurant. And if this is considered one of the best, then the bar is on the floor for the rest of the city. Probably for the whole country. Probably for the whole continent hahaha The worst part is that they force you to order one main dish per person. Even if you get a starter, it’s still mandatory to order a main. The fact that they force you to consume a specific type of dish was a huge no for us, and it irritated us from the beginning. We don’t know if this is normal in Switzerland, but in top ranked restaurants around the world, ironically like this one claims to be, this does not happen. And the host, honestly, she welcomed us with the least friendly face I’ve seen in Europe. And Europe isn’t exactly known for outstanding customer service, but this was definitely not the greeting you expect when you’re about to pay for such an insanely overpriced meal. The least they could do is make the experience feel worth it.

We have a layover in Zürich for the evening, so we hopped on the bus, over to the train station and made our way into old town. Soon as we got off of the train, we went to the tourist shop and got a map and asked the gentleman where would his favorite place be for dinner. This is a place he suggested. As we mosey on through the city, enjoying all the views that we could we made our way towards this restaurant. It was approximately 615 at night and the line was starting to form to get a table. We did not have to wait and we’re seated in the back at a table for two. Shortly there after a waiter approach us and took our drink order. My wife and I each ordered a glass of wine, very small poor for the amount they charge you. We were interested in doing the fondue, but we figured that would be a little too heavy and a little too much for just two people so we ordered separately. She ordered the salmon with boiled potatoes and spinach, I ordered the veal schnitzel with spatzel. One thing I can tell you is we were extremely pleased with our choice. My veal came out very hot along with the spatzel. You can definitely tell you’re in a restaurant that serves cheese fondue because of the smell when you enter. Sometime it isn’t always pleasant. We enjoyed our meal and glad for the recommendation. We definitely would come back here again.

Restaurant
La Pasta is a cozy Italian restaurant located in the heart of Zurich, Switzerland. It offers a variety of fresh and vibrant homemade Italian dishes, with a specialty in homemade pasta. The restaurant is popular among both locals and visitors, known for its authentic Italian and vegetarian delicacies. Guests can enjoy outside seating while indulging in wonderful food and excellent customer service. The restaurant's pinsas dough is particularly noteworthy for being light and easy to digest, setting it apart from other dining establishments.
Had an amazing meal at La Pasta! The fresh pasta was outstanding — you can really taste the difference, it was so flavorful and well made. The grilled octopus was soft, chewy, and cooked just right. We also had the vegetable pizza, which was delicious with super fresh toppings. The dessert were the perfect ending to the meal! The prices are on the higher side, but honestly, it’s totally worth it for the quality of food and experience. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in Zurich!

Tried this restaurant based upon other reviews and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing such that we came back a second time with additional travel companions. I had the truffle pasta both times. We truly felt like we were in someone's house after being invited over for a wonder Italian dinner. Highly recommend.

After looking for an Italian on the first night of our holiday we found this place. We hadn't booked but they could seat us if we had the table back within just under 90 mins. Since we only wanted a main meal we accepted the challenge. The sign said they cook everything fresh so it may take a little longer. My daughter eventually asked when the food was coming, just as it appeared. I call that a win. The meals were incredible, brilliant service and a great atmosphere. Overall the dinner was excellent and we were out within an hour. Job done.

What a nice surprise in Niederdorf!!. I was walking around at lunchtime there and was looking for a place to eat. Although I have never been enthusiastic about eating in Niederdorf, a place for tourists, more than anything else. I arrived almost at the end, towards Central, when I saw this place, an italian restaurant, maybe not 100%, with only 4 tables outside. I went in and they showed me the table where I should sit. Interesting menu and also wines, with 4 lunch menus to choose from between 27.50 chf and 34.50 chf. A simple, uncomplicated ambiance.. and a good plate of pasta.

Zurich might not be known for its pasta, but Le Pasta is absolutely worth checking out. The food here is incredible – from their pastas to their perfectly baked pizzas. Yes, the food takes a little longer to come out, but they’re upfront about it from the start, and honestly, it’s worth the wait – everything is made fresh and it really shows in the taste. The customer service is fantastic, and the staff is both helpful and friendly. They even have an iPad with photos of the dishes in case the menu isn’t enough to help you decide – a really thoughtful touch. There’s adequate seating both indoors and outdoors, and the bathrooms were clean (which is always a good sign). It’s a bit on the pricier side, but given the quality of the food and overall experience, I’d say it’s well worth it. Highly recommend if you're in Zurich and craving a quality Italian meal!

The food was great, the people were nice. We tried the garlic shrimp, the mushroom cream pasta, and the spicy tomato pasta. All were 5/5, especially the shrimps!!!! Definitely will come back if I have guests visit from other countries 🥰

Good food and friendly service! We love the Pinsa so much. It’s crusty outside and fluffy inside. The Orecchiette was even better! Al dente orecchiette and yummy ragu, we scraped the plate clean 😋 Would definitely be back again!

My friend and I were a bit disappointed yesterday. We didn’t finish our meal (few of them), but co-workers of the restaurant always wanted to take it away. Few times we said, that we didn’t finish our meal and of course it’s visible (because we had 2 pieces of Pinza, I had still fries and my friend had half of Spaghetti). But co-workers consistently were asking if we finished and after few times of trying to take food from us, they actually did 😅 I never had this experience before, but that felt not good, specially when the bill is more than CHF 150 and prices are a bit higher than generally in Zurich. Food: For me food was delicious, my friend didn’t like the pasta with shrimps that much. That’s why I put 4 For general service: everyone was very nice and helpful, but for the situation with the food — I put 2 for Atmosphere.

Raclette Factory is a cozy and inviting spot in Zurich that offers a variety of Swiss cheese classics and international raclettes. The venue provides variants of regional cheeses like blue Blaue Schalk, truffled cheese, and goat's cheese. Additionally, they serve smoky tarte flambees topped with cre fraiche and bacon. The restaurant captures the essence of traditional Swiss dining with its rustic ambiance.
Excellent choice for our first meal in Switzerland. The server was so friendly and kind to explain the menu. The Peter and Parma were absolutely delicious. The restaurant smelled amazing. I think I would try the potatoes if we are back again during our short trip.

What an amazing place for a late dinner in Zurich! Absolutely delicious raclette with a cozy and homey vibe and good service. Food came out very quickly when I was there and the prices are very good for Zurich. I could see it being busy during peak hours but I was able to get a table with no wait on a weekday.

Visited Raclette Factory in Zürich and absolutely loved it. The raclette was everything you’d hope for — creamy, flavorful, and freshly melted right in front of you. The classic pairing of potatoes, pickles, and bread made it both comforting and authentic. The restaurant had a cozy, rustic charm, filled with the aroma of cheese and good vibes. The staff were cheerful and made the experience fun and relaxed. If you’re visiting Switzerland, this is a must-try spot to enjoy true Swiss comfort food done right.

Overall good. If you want to eat same raclette, but with no queue - this is the place. We’ve ordered tasting set and truffles set, both were good, came with boiled potato and pickles.

Tasty! The meal was lighter than I expected (in a positive way: I was expecting to be stuffed/bloated from all the cheese and was pleasantly surprised not to be). I got the garlic and chilli cheeses with bread cubes. Iced tea was lightly sweet and yummy as well.

I don't know what to say about this place. We were bigger group and needed a bigger table and we didn't have reservation. When asked about a table, staff was annoyed by us a bit. They managed to seat us in the end and took our orders. By the time food was ready one beer was spilled and plates were mixed around by staff in the way that I didn't end up eating what I ordered. I do understand that confusion happens and that there was a lot of orders around but that should be better organized. The place is not that big, but they do not seem to handle it good at that point in time. Also, the food was good and raclette was tasty and just the right texture. I wish that our experience was better regarding staff part.

Wanted to try racelette before leaving Zurich. This was a perfect option. Tucked into the winding streets of old town, the Racelette Factory is snuggled in the center, surrounded by beautiful Swiss architecture and some sightseeing points. There are numerous more restaurants and souvenir shops nearby. I highly recommend making a reservation as they hold their tables for reservations for an extended period of time. We were a walk in and sat at the bar because there were no other seats available. Service was great and all of the staff spoke English. I had the Deluxe Racelette with sausages and couldn’t have been more content. It was exactly what you want from Racelette. We paid 98 USD for two of us, but the price was highly comparable to other restaurants in Zurich. Great place to eat.

Babu's is a popular cafe with three locations in Zurich, known for its modern and light menu featuring espresso drinks. The cafe offers a sophisticated brunch experience with options like vegan chia pudding, avocado toast, and various types of pancakes with fruits and sauces. Despite being busy at the primary location on Lowenstrasse, the new shop in Kreis 3 has become a favorite spot for locals due to its delicious pastries and cakes.
The space looks modern and well designed, and the food is amazing. The toast with mushrooms tasted delicious, and the cinamon roll was the perfect match for the coffee. Definitely we’ll go back and try other things!

Quite highly raved, but in my opinion, the food was just decent and nothing mind blowing. We had to queue for around 20 mins before we got a table at 10ish am. The rosti was a little too dry for my liking and lacked seasoning.

Amazing place !! Came here for brunch on a Saturday at 14:00 without a reservation. Had to wait around 20/25 min to get seated but it was worth it !! The blueberry pancakes are amazing, not too sweet and the maple syrup is a nice touch. The salmon bagel is also really good !

very delicious bakery products. second time in this place and satisfied with everything i had. as a negative comment: this is not about the place itself but like most of the other good places in zurich, it is always crowded and you generally have to wait to get a table. if you are planning to come to this place (for sure give it a try), good luck with it ;)

The bagels here are amazing! And the coffee is pretty good too. I think the only “negative” thing to say, is that this is clearly not a secret gem. People in Zürich know about Babu’s and it was difficult to find a spot to sit. We found a long queue and our only option was to sit outside on a freezing day. They offered us blankets but they do not have heaters, so we kinda froze anyways… which wasnt nice 😅 the food also took a while to come out, but I guess that also comes with the place being so popular/busy… either way, this goes to explain why 4 stars and not 5. I look forward to come again and sit inside next time! ————— Came back in June 2025 and still delicious. The prices are pretty steep (19 francs for a bagel!) but it is a safe tasty bet!

A wonderful café in Zurich! The place is cozy, the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are absolutely amazing – always welcoming, kind, and attentive. Service is fast and efficient, and the menu offers a great variety of dishes. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available, which makes it enjoyable in any weather. It’s usually quite popular and often has a waiting line, but the good news is that they offer reservations in advance. During our one-month stay in Zurich, we ended up visiting almost daily and got to know many of the incredible team members: DEWI, COLINA, JANICE, SANUEL, LOSA, ADRIANA, JOELLE, ALISHA, LEA, MARIA, SESIRE, KATHI, GABRIELLA, FABIAN, and EPTHER. Truly one of the highlights of our trip – highly recommended!

Southeast Asian restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Zurich, Ban Song Thai Restaurant is a charming and elegant eatery that offers an authentic taste of Thailand. With skilled Thai chefs at the helm, diners can indulge in a variety of spicy dishes and rich curries that are sure to tantalize the palate. The restaurant features a delightful lunchtime buffet, making it an excellent choice for those looking to savor delicious flavors without breaking the bank. The menu is diverse, catering to both lunch specials starting from Fr.
Ban Song Thai Restaurant in Old Town Zurich completely won me over! I ordered the whole fried fish, and let me tell you I devoured it in minutes. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and drenched in a flavor-packed sauce that balanced sweet, spicy, and savory beautifully. The generous topping of fresh basil, chili, and herbs added that authentic Thai kick I’ve been craving. What really surprised me was the portion size it was closer to an American-style serving, which I absolutely loved. I left completely full and happy, something that rarely happens at smaller European restaurants. The place itself was bustling and lively, clearly a local favorite. Since I was dining solo, I managed to snag a spot at the bar, but for anyone planning to visit in a group, make a reservation it gets packed. The space is cozy and a bit tight, so you might brush shoulders with your neighbors, but honestly, when the food is this good, you won’t care one bit. Everything from the presentation to the flavors was spot on — a must-try spot in Zurich if you’re a Thai food lover. I’m already dreaming about that fish again.

The place is lovely, and the staff were very nice. But I didn’t really like the food. The Pad Thai had too much fish sauce. There are more delicious and cheaper Thai restaurants in Zurich 😕

RACIST PLACE if you are single south asian looking to enjoy dinner. I walked in asking for a table but the manager (European) looked at me and said only seating at bar which is an extremely tiny uncomfortable spot tight for even 2 people right by the entrance and facing very busy counter loading dirty dishes. I saw plenty of tables open so when I asked if I could be given a table, he said every table is reserved and would not accommodate. So I ended up reluctantly taking the bar seat. But soon after a couple walked in without reservation and he politely gave them a table. Then another large group of 5 walked in without reservation and he joined two tables and seated them. Then four more couples walked in without reservation and he seated them all at open tables. I know they didn’t have reservations because for those with reservations, he would ask their name then go behind counter to strike off their name in the register. For the ones without reservations, he would look around and point them to a table asking them if that’s ok then escorting them. Food was good (not great), staff very unfriendly and pushy, and manager racist. Please don’t go to this place that singles out people to be treated badly. Staff didn’t look happy either.

There we were, hungry as ever, 2 minutes away from Ban Song Thai. It was a spontaneous decision. As you step into the restaurant, you’re greeted with a big smile and a lovely atmosphere. The service is impressive and the food is drool-worthy! We always try the coconut soup if it’s in the menu, it was, so we ordered it. Yum! Everyone we tried was delicious. 5 Stars
Mona B — Google review
We reserved a table and had to wait to be seated. Then it took 15mins for someone to take our order and another hour for the food to arrive. The food was tasty and moderately priced. It was incredibly loud in the restaurant, which over all made it a mediocre experience.
LISA — Google review
The online reservation system appears to be unreliable, as neither a confirmation nor a possible cancellation was received. The guest service was disappointing and discourteous, despite our frequent visits in the past. The waiter’s conduct was unprofessional and lacking in understanding, which made us feel unwelcome. This occurred following a reservation that had been cancelled by the restaurant, along with a waiting time of 25 minutes. The food was excellent, as always. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere was quite unpleasant.

Delightful place for Brunch! We had the Lebanese Teller, Halloumi Burger and a few other Mezzes, they were all very enjoyable. The Goat Cheese with Nectarine compote was especially delightful. My third time in The Dolder. I admit, I was doubting to book the Mandarin O this time, but happy that I went again for The Dolder. There is just no place like this. Stayed three nights, in room 1307, in the Spa Wing Breakfast: great!!! although the small plates with smoked salmon were almost always gone. But the breakfast is great, the Dolder's bircher muesli, is the best! Dinner: had dinner in Salt, same place as breakfast. During dinner: I preferred the 'red area' for the simple reason: during the evening, I did no so much like the lighting in the other part of the restaurant. It was not very 'warm' But I admit I'm obsessed with good lighting. Room: I was in 1307, a bit bigger then standard. I have to say, the rooms don't have the WOW effect anymore, maybe a bit too plain for a 5 star. Probably because the room is very white, and kind of lacks warmth. I admit: I just spend several days in the Chedi Andermatt, so there was a contrast. The wood in the dressing starts to show the wear and tear of daily use. But then again: the balcony ànd the view were amazing! The Spa: very nice to unwind after a day in town. The bar: I love the new design!! I is really a lot better then before! And besides that: I have a weak spot for the very very nice, kind ànd very handsome head bartender. His sparkling eyes and smile and kindness are so nice. Things I love about this place - the shuttle service - the grandeur of the place! - the combination of classic with modern wings, superbe! - the head bartender!

Very poor hotel - DO NOT STAY Service service was terrible, no interaction on bookings and arrangements. Easily the worst hotel experience I have had in the past 10 years. Rooms - Smelt of smoke and did nothing about it - controls and technology including light switches was very aged - booked a lake view room but was very marginal. Do not trust the descriptions. Food - no respect for allergies , multiple failed simple orders where the chef ended up just taking things off the same plate rather than replating. Location - good, Main positives - probably a good hotel for heavy smokers who want beer at breakfast

Disappointing experience at the Dolder Grand – Service Not Up to Standard I stayed at the Dolder Grand last weekend and, despite the beautiful setting and excellent breakfast, my overall experience was unfortunately very disappointing due to the level of service, which fell far below what one would expect from a hotel of this calibre. Right from check-in, several incidents occurred. We were assigned a room and escorted to it by a staff member, only to discover that another guest was still inside. This was extremely embarrassing, especially since the room had been confirmed as ready. We were then asked to wait, and shortly after informed that the room was now prepared for us. However, when we returned, another staff member informed us that the room was actually not ready. The lack of professionalism was striking, and our patience began to wear thin. After several back-and-forths, we were finally given a room. We settled in and headed to the spa to relax after these mishaps. Unfortunately, the surprises continued when we returned from the spa, we found the room completely empty, all of our belongings had been removed without our consent and without any prior notice. This was extremely alarming and unacceptable, and to this day, I have not yet received any explanation as to why our belongings were moved, which I find particularly disrespectful. Throughout the stay, staff entered the room after knocking only once and immediately opening the door. In a hotel of this standard, strict respect for guests’ privacy is expected. In my opinion, knocking at least three times and waiting for a response should be the norm... In summary, stunning architecture and great food, but the service is nowhere near what you’d expect for the price and prestige of the Dolder Grand. Despite the exceptional setting, the experience was deeply disappointing, and I cannot recommend staying there as it is not fairly represent Swiss standards.

I was here waiting for a gig in the attached theatre. A man was wheeling a tray of pork around and stopped at my table. He babbled about how fresh and one of a kind the pork was under his cloche. Being a tourist, I'm just gonna go along and go for it instead of menu indecisions. He comes back with the veg and potatoes. My word, that pork was one of a kind! And that mash and those carrots? Well, with that mustard gravy that good, it's all just melting in my mouth. Dessert was also yummy and very traditional. It was very expensive, but everything in Switzerland is, so I can't exactly dock it points for being pricey!

Ate here before a concert at the Volkshaus. Very cool restaurant with high ceilings, large windows and warm decoration. A welcoming ambience .Quiet, but busy. Food was very good. They offered a large variety if classic dishes with seasonal dishes. Service was excellent. Attentive, friendly and efficient. They also have outdoor seating I believe. Would highly recommend coming to restaurant Volkshaus. Thank you.

Everything was absolutely delicious—from the fresh tartare and tender tagliata to the crispy cordon bleu. The pistachio tiramisu and chocolate dessert were divine. Beautiful presentation, excellent cocktails, and the Mura Mura red wine was a standout. Friendly, attentive service made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!

I went there for lunch for a couple of times. The food is great, well prepared, sincere and humble. Service is nice and the ambience is authentic.

The Hall for the concerts looks like a dance hall, not optimal for seeing the scene. However, nice good building.

Special interiors with high ceilings but cozy. Service is fast, friendly and professional. Food differs from very good to mediocre. For example, Cordon Bleu was a gigantic unsubtle hunk of meat running with a huge amount of melted cheese. Pricey, but it is Zürich so you can't expect cheap food, especially meat here. Nice wine menu and a very cozy old styled bar.

Nice place to stop for a light brunch. Several options to choose from, including set options. The space is nice and ambience is laid back. I opted for the muesli and coffee and was not disappointed. Staff was friendly and service fast. Check it out if you’re in the area.

Alpenrose is a charming restaurant that offers traditional Swiss cuisine in a cozy, timber-clad setting adorned with cultural artifacts. The menu features seasonal dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, such as Engadiner pizokel and duck breast with dried-plum sauce. The interior exudes an elegantly casual atmosphere, complete with wainscoting, etched-glass windows, and Swiss-themed paintings.
Fantastic food with great service. The restaurant is beautiful and waiters were very attentive. I would recommend the meatloaf and house red wine. Thank you to fiche Oliver who’s English was fantastic and really made us feel welcome in Zurich.

OK, this is not a short review, so please bear with me.  I went from Ireland to Switzerland on a very low budget holiday, and of course, I wanted to try the traditional Swiss food. So, I asked around, and a guy recommended this restaurant.  I went there and I was blown away with an old fantastic style, it's like a time machine.  I asked for Fondue but they didn't have it, I was disappointed BUT, they had a very good reason to not offer it, that's because the Fondue will create steam that would damage the old paintings in the restaurant, I have a huge passion to history and art and I totally understand their point. The waitress told us that the restaurant was opened in the 30s by three ladies. After that,  I decided to order juice and a main course only because of my limited budget...Dylan the waiter recommended a lovely exclusive drink made from natural ingredients in the house, he also recommended the special beef dish on the day. Dylan's recommendations were  spot on. The juice was so refreshing, and you can feel the unique taste of Swiss ingredients.  The beef dish was lovely,  my sister enjoyed it. I ordered another beef dish with risotto, and it was so creamy. So, if you're looking for a unique lifetime experience to go back in time to the 1930s, then this is the place for you for sure. I couldn't take many photos inside because there were families eating, and I wanted to respect their privacy. I also couldn't take many photos of the dishes because of the candlelight and I really wanted to enjoy my time with my sister rather than taking photos... I couldn't order more than the juice and main dish because I couldn't afford more. But, you can save a bit of extra money and order a full meal with three courses. You might think it's an expensive restaurant,  but it's a journey to the Swiss history and culture of Switzerland.  The staff were amazing and they treated us very well. Although,  I was sad that they did not offer Fondue,  they respectfully explained why they can't have it on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Small and quaint place to grab a delicious meal. Everything from the service to the food was universally excellent. Easy to get to as well since it's located right by the #13 tram.

Love this place. It’s a nice little place where the staffs are super friendly and the food are very nice. Our favorite dishes were the Alpenrose salad and the venison dish (unfortunately we didn’t have photos of them). The space were absolutely gorgeous, an old building that they preserved quite nicely. The long standing establishment shows in the culture of the people. We found out later that they were working closely with the “Arbeitskette project”, supposedly a project helping integration of community members.

Terrific restaurant. I'm delighted. The food was good and the service friendly and positive (especially the project of the 'Arbeitskette'). The meals look good in the photos, but also in reality. I do recommend it highly. I'll be back.

I’ve looked up best restaurant in Zurich on Time Out and this place came out on suggestion. I didn’t manage to get a booking on a Friday evening so we tried our luck to walk in around 6pm. We were considered lucky to have dinner here as the place was filled around 8pm..! Ambience- cozy and nice space with some traditional rustic vibes Service- There are three waiters when we were there and all of them were not as attentive and being helpful with menus when we asked them question. Not sure if they don’t understand English at all or doesn’t want to…this affects our dining experience which was a bit disappointing. Food- we’ve ordered the meat loaf and veal steak. Both were very homely made taste and flavourful which we enjoyed very much. I specially adore their spactzle! I would highly recommend to have it as sides. For starter we had the bone marrow beef soup and beef tartare- the soup was OK, don’t think there’s any wow factor in there but the beef tartare was amazing. Overall this is the comfort food I had in Zurich and I really enjoyed the food. Hopefully service will improve next time that will makes it perfect :)

If you're seeking a dining experience that tantalizes your senses in an entirely unique way, look no further than Blinde Kuh in Zurich. Since its inception in 1999, this pioneering restaurant has been captivating guests by offering a three-course meal served in complete darkness. The concept encourages diners to rely on their remaining senses—smell, taste, touch, and sound—to fully appreciate the flavors and aromas of each dish.
This is a very quite dining experience. I can’t say I would choose to do it more than once, but I’m so glad we did it! Dinner is in a completely dark room (you cannot see anything!!) Our service was so kind and jovial, and the food was very tasty! My teenagers felt it was a great experience to remind them of how the blind community, experience life.
T H — Google review
This was a wild experience for sure. We had a group of about 10 people and half of them had a great dinner event, a quarter really had a transformative experience, and a quarter were truly petrified. I really enjoyed the food and it was crazy how different it is for those of us with all our functions to be forced into understanding the experiences of others. I ended up just eating with my hands caveman style. It did really help our team appreciate the plights of others- I sure emerged incredibly thankful for the simple gifts of senses I take for granted. That all said- be aware it is true pitch black in there- not kind of dark- pitch black. That really didn’t go over well with some of our team members- a couple were truly minutes short of a panic attack and almost left- but we recognized this and mentally supported and comforted them. For me, a really cool, eye-opening (pardon the pun) experience.
M S — Google review
My mind is still being blown by this experience. As a foodie, I was looking for something different, and this is it. I'm humbled by it. Our server Marco is excellent, faultless and professional, we trusted him and his guidance. After reception, you 'hand' yourself over into the pitch blackness. Marco guided us in the dark to our table/chair/cutlery and glass. The surprise 3 course menu was that, chosen bh my partner, I chose an entree of pumpkin quiche followed by chicken pasta. I was so repleat I didn't manage dessert. I knew therefore what I ordered, but never got to see it! We sat from 7.30 to almost 9.30pm. Food was tasty, which is great, but it's loosing your sight for 2 hours that is the experience, learning and appreciation you gain. Incredibly enlightening.
Jean K — Google review
Dining in the dark in Zürich is truly an unforgettable experience, and it’s easy to see why this place has been thriving for over 25 years. From start to finish, everything was exceptional - the food was delicious and full of flavor, and the service was absolutely wonderful. What makes it even more special is the team behind it: differently abled individuals who bring such warmth, professionalism, and care to every moment. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience that stays with you and opens your perspective in such a meaningful way. I’ll definitely be recommending this to all my friends - it’s something everyone should try at least once.
Ahaeli C — Google review
A wonderful experience I could not imagine until we tried it. Eating and staying in total darkness for the whole time widens your remaining senses. The food is delicious, we had the four-courses surprise menu (there are also vegetarian options available) and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Consider it is not a place suitable for small children since once you have been seated it's very difficult (impossible without the staff support) to move in and out the dining area. Also no light emitting devices (phones, watches, etc) is allowed inside the dining area (they support lockers for your stuff) since it would ruin the whole atmosphere and concept. I can strongly suggest it, but take into consideration to plan your visit ahead of time and make a reservation.
Petros T — Google review
What a wonderful experience! Anya took great care of us. I have never had an opportunity to eat dinner in complete darkness, so it definitely made me understand what a challenge visually impaired people live with every day. The food was delicious even though I guessed incorrectly what I was eating. Definitely worth the time and expense.
Julie — Google review
The experience of dining in the pitch dark room was unique and incredible. The wait staff are all blind or visually impaired, and navigate you through the darkest room I have ever experienced. The unique experience of needing to navigate a dining experience while sightless is both exciting and also made me more aware of the experiences of those with impaired vision. The food served was all incredible - I opted for a surprise menu, which is 3 courses and you have to guess what you have been served. Not being able to see makes all the experiences of taste, touch and smell more intense when you don't know what you have been served. The service from everyone we encountered, including in reception and in the dining service, was fantastic and full of laughs and humour. Would highly recommend, one of my favourite travel experiences to date.
Tori E — Google review
The experience was incredible! You truly can’t see anything, and it really helps you put yourself in the shoes of blind people. This unique concept fosters empathy and awareness — I think it’s an amazing idea. The food was delicious, and your waiter stays with you the whole time, guiding you through the experience. I highly recommend visiting Blinde Kuh — it’s truly unforgettable!

We had a dinner there. We ordered onion soup and meat loaf. Meat loaf was traditional Swiss type which was different from what we have in Australia but absolutely delicious. The Weisser Wind is a family restaurant with traditional Swiss dishes that local people seem to like. The atmosphere is lively and the food was fantastic. I had the pork schnitzel and meatballs and they were both delicious, with the sauce being particularly great. The breading on the schnitzel was crispy and salty which made it a nice dish to eat outside in good weather.
Wow wow wow. This restaurant is exceptional. The waitress Sandra was so kind and checked in on me throughout the meal and helped recommend an amazing wine from the locals. The head chef Jean Ghrabi introduced himself and was so kind and I must recommend his cuisine as you will NEVER have a bad meal here. The food is tasty, fresh, and filling. Solo traveler from US here. I was told service charge was not included. I asked again knowing this is not the custom, and after seeing a couple of gentlemen next to me who spoke the language tapped their payment without being presented a tip screen option. I was suspicious, but I ended up rounding up the bill (see pic). Is it normal for waiters here to ask for tip? Overall, I had a decent meal here. I enjoyed the veal meatballs with mushroom cream sauce with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The steak tartare had a slight hint of ketchup, which threw me off. Just beware if you’re a tourist, you may be expected to tip.

We found this place by chance and we read it was a must. We did enjoy the ambiance and décor. The food is an experience you have to live once in your life but it will depend on your taste. We took seasonal dishes with automn flavours and it was interesting. Deer was heavy for me, I ate again more than 24h later 😂 Consider a specific budget for your visit because it is not cheap but I think that you should give it a try if your budget allons it. I don't think that the place is easy for someone in wheelchair.

Bauernschänke is a cozy restaurant in Zurich that prides itself on serving modern, creative dishes made with seasonal produce from local markets. The restaurant's farmhouse interior, wooden walls, and rustic ceiling lights create a unique and down-to-earth atmosphere. Head chef Thomas Brandner and host Francie Witter ensure that guests feel at home while enjoying a relaxed lunch or dinner. The restaurant sources its ingredients from the best local vendors and prepares them with great attention to detail.
The 5-course surprise menu with caviar pairing was absolutely outstanding. Each dish was beautifully presented, creative, and full of flavor — from the perfectly charred vegetables to the thoughtful combinations throughout the courses. The caviar pairing elevated the experience and made the evening unforgettable. A special mention to our waiter, who was amazing — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. His service made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Easily one of the best dining experiences in Zurich. Highly recommended and absolutely worth it!
Lucas R — Google review
Atmosphere is nice. The food is overpriced for what it is even for Zurich standards. All the dishes were extremely salty and some fish dishes didn’t seem quite fresh. The beef was too chewy and in general none of the dishes was special. There were a lot of flavors combined but lacking of character. In addition, we got food poisoning right after returning home. For the price point service was also disappointing, the waiters didn’t even refill the waters or the wine. You would search for some time if you needed something. The dish names were just mentioned without really explaining every time the composition of the dish. Would have expected more from this restaurant and concept.
Vg — Google review
Easily the best meal I had in Zurich! The small plates menu meant that my partner and I were able to try loads of different dishes which we loved. The flavour combinations were amazing and different than what I would usually expect (like truffle with desert). They had a large selection of wines and the staff were able to make recommendations that my partner and I really enjoyed.
Leah B — Google review
I had dinner at Bauernschänke in Zurich last night and it was absolutely lovely. The food was nothing short of amazing – I’ve honestly never experienced such creative and well-balanced flavor combinations before. You can really tell that the chef knows exactly what he’s doing when it comes to flavors! The concept is all about sharing plates – they recommend 4 to 6 dishes for two people from their à la carte menu, but you can also order from their seasonal selection or go for the surprise menu if you’re feeling adventurous. Two absolute highlights for me: the churros with Gruyère cheese, which were unexpectedly addictive, and the dessert – a cookie with truffle – a real flavor explosion! The atmosphere is super cozy and relaxed, and the service was incredibly friendly and fast. All in all, a wonderful dining experience – I can’t wait to go back!

Creative cooking with very original little servings and good choice for for everyone (fish, meat, veg). The waiters were just perfect and the atmosphere very cosy. Prices were descent for Zurich! Little advise, take 3 plates / pers (excluding desert). I took 4 but it was a bit too much!

I had the most incredible dining experience here! The food was sooo good. Every dish was a work of art. The staff attention to details was truly remarkable: we never had an empty glass or a dirty plate on the table. The wine pairing was also really good. The sommelier has a deep understanding of wine pairing, enhancing our dining experience even further. My favourite bite was the venison cheek at the beginning and the kaiseki style pudding. This is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply try new dishes this is the place to be. Thank you all for making our dinner so special!

Phenomenal ramen in Wiedikon. Zurich has many really great ramen places and this one is right up there with the best. The tonkatsu was really authentic and tasted great - especially on a rainy day. Slightly above average ramen, okay udon and downright terrible karaage (fried chicken) that tastes like it was bought from a supermarket. And the suggestion of a tip when paying (minimum of 5%) is just downright crass

Meat dish restaurant
This french steakhouse restaurant in Zurich offers a simple, yet refined diner experience with only one dish - entrecote cooked to your preference (bleu or rare). As a starter, you can enjoy a green salad with walnuts as well as small cut French fries (pommes allumettes).
I love the concept of this restaurant. I usually like restaurants with small menus as it usually means that the food is fresh and the kitchen knows what they are doing. I was a bit disappointed that when the service asked for the type of doneness (well done, medium, rare) and we chose well done, she essentially refused our order and forced us to have at least medium. On the other hand, this brought the authentic French service right into center of Zürich. 😀 I would come here again. But the next time, I'm gonna bring French guest energy. 😀 The restaurant doesn't do reservation, so you have to show up at the beginning of the opening hours, but there was plenty of space for us, so it was a bit redundant to do so. 5 out of 5.

Le Relais de l’Entrecôte delivers a truly delicious and unique dining experience that lives up to its reputation. The signature steak with their famous sauce is absolutely mouthwatering, and the concept of serving a second helping is a fun touch. The environment is classy and old school, which I think is a big plus—it adds to the charm and makes the meal feel special. That said, the portions could be a bit more generous, especially considering the price point, which feels slightly on the higher side. Still, the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience make it well worth a visit. A solid 4 stars!
Farbod A — Google review
The famous steakhouse from Paris but without the hour long queues. Whilst the steak is supposed to be the highlight, it’s honestly nothing special, it lacks a good sear and the beef they use isn’t particularly tender nor flavourful. The sauce that goes with it is nice though and the fries are top notch.
YB — Google review
Dinner at Le Relais de l'Entrecôte in Zürich was really good, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. However, the wait was long, over 40 minutes standing outside in the cold since they don’t take reservations and the place gets very crowded. The steak and sauce were tasty, but in the steak world, there are definitely better options out there. Overall, it felt more like a trendy, hype spot than a true steakhouse, but I still enjoyed the experience and the lively atmosphere.

We’ve been to the Paris branch multiple times, until recently that we realised about the Zurich branch and had to come here to enjoy their Entrecôte steak with their signature sauce. It was a similar experience, with a nice pro, that we did not have to queue for the table and the whole experience was more relaxed! Will definitely be back. It was just a bit odd that they did not accept Twint.

Really good food . There is only one dish in the menu “Entrecôte with fries” , and an salat as starter. The good thing is, you get a supplemental meal after you finish the first meal. Basically two plates. Highly recommend the quality and service.

We were overjoyed to learn that we can have another of their amazing dinner while in Zurich. As wonderful, in a notably slightly different (as elegant, but with more light) setting of the dining area. Here, the second half of the portion of our steak came with the exact level of doneness (still the lovely medium), truly appreciated 💛

If you want to enjoy a nice piece of entrecôte at a reasonable prize in Zürich - this is the place to go! No menu (entrecôte only), a great selection of fabulous desserts, great wines, very attentive service!! No reservation - first come, first serve. Only space of improvement would be the selection of beers - no local beers, no great selection.

I reserved this place for 2 people @6:30pm on a Wed. Received confirmation the same day! The restaurant itself is so quaint with south Italian chic. Gives off a very cozy feel! Lorenzo, the part owner was also present and really fun to have a chat with. He explains the menu in full detail as well before any ordering takes place 👍 The FOOD IS DELICIOUS. The starter ravioli was YUM! My husband’s pasta was really nice 👌 The pizza is the reason I was here and so very glad I got my share because it was DIVINE. I’m a sucker for some good pizza but the crust was cooked to PERFECTION! 🍕 The dessert was delicious as well. I decided to go with the Tartuffo Al Pistachio and my husband chose the Profiteroles 🍩

TLDR: pasta is hit or miss, pizza was solid, everything else was mediocre, service was decent but strange. Chianalea was a mixed experience. Some of the dishes impressed, others didn’t. Linguine with clams and mussels was simple and classically delicious. The noodles were cooked al dente. The mollusks were small, but packed with salty, ocean-y flavor that infused the olive oil based sauce nicely. The fungi pizza was also nice; not too much cheese, sweet sauce, and chewy crust. Unfortunately, the second pasta dish (eggplant, red sauce, pecorino) was quite disappointing. The noodles were seriously undercooked for my taste with the ends of the noodles being completely hard. It’s kind of puzzling how staggeringly different the qualities of the two pastas we ordered were. The complimentary bread was unusually hard and dense. Everything else (mixed salad, marinated swordfish, bruschetta) was just satisfactory. The server was friendly and timely for European service standards. However, he forgot to offer us the pizza menu entirely. Only once we noticed tables around us eating pizza did we even know to inquire about a pizza menu. (Though, we probably could have noticed sooner given that pizzeria is in the name 😅). Chianela is a perfectly okay restaurant to go to if you’re in Zurich. Outdoor seating offered a beautiful view of the sun setting, service is a 3/5 by NYC standards, but a 5/5 for European standards, and the food is edible. I might recommend going for the pizzas over the pastas because my suspicion is that those will be a less risky order. Just make sure to ask for the pizza menu!

Takeout Restaurant
Restaurant
Piadina Bar is a cozy spot in the Niederdorf area of Zurich, offering authentic Italian street food at budget-friendly prices. The specialty here is Piadina, a traditional Italian flatbread filled with delicious ingredients like eggplants, rucola, and stracchino cream cheese. Visitors can enjoy the old-school charm of the restaurant's dark wood interiors while savoring these light and tasty sandwiches.
For a quick, relatively inexpensive bite to eat, Piadina Bar is a great stop in Old Town. Cute retro bistro decor inside. Friendly counter service. And despite previous reviews, they accepted credit cards. I had the prosciutto, rocket, and stracciatella. Perfect for a light, late lunch.
Heather S — Google review
You can choose your own ingredients. They have Italian salami and pecorino cheese so I’m happy, and it tastes fantastic!
Kaleb W — Google review
I absolutely love this place :) I have been there a few times and it never disappointed me. The piadinas are freshly done at the moment, and the ingredients are of very good quality. There is a good variety of both ingredients for the piadina and of drinks. The people are usually very friendly. Recommended for a quick to-go meal, or a simple dinner with friends.

Just delicious! An hour ago I felt really hungry but didn't know what to eat until we came across this piadina bar. I ordered my classic ham, creme cheese and rucola piadina. I guarantee you, you will love it. Try it, you won't regret. My kids were not hungry but enjoyed a cup of ice cream and they really loved it.

I went here for a quick bite during my Zürich layover and the food was amazing. I had their Piadina and it was good. Plus the ladies are very nice and speaks very good English
Stevenson Q — Google review
I had visited Piadina Bar two years ago just a few weeks before switching to an entirely vegan diet. At the time I had given them a 5-star review and I do stand by what I said in my review back then. If you're a meat eater, then here you can get possibly the very best piadina in Switzerland. On top of that, the customer service is very friendly and efficient, nothing has changed from that perspective. The reason for this 3-star review is the complete lack of vegan options which in (almost) 2022 is just unacceptable in my opinion. Veganism is the future whether businesses like this one like it or not, and having a few vegan options in the menu is a must nowadays. To be fair to them, they did in the end manage to assemble a vegan piada for me which is also why they do deserve some credit on this. However, this place as it stands now is a no-go for a vegan.

Sri Lankan restaurant
First of all, Neela is a Sri Lankan restaurant with a cool vibe that serves homemade curries and assorted roti dishes. The main ingredients are usually drawn from the local region, so the food here is always delicious. Two Tamil women have put their hearts and souls into this place, so you can be sure you're in for an intense culinary experience.
Top class and authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. I’ve been to the country twice and I can confirm that the hospitality and quality is very very good. Highly recommend and prices are normal. They also have LION lager beer. We had the kottu and chicken biryani and they were very tasty and spicy.

We visited this place with a group of fourteen colleagues, and we had a great time overall. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, and the service stood out—our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food was flavorful and delicious. While I’m not an expert on Sri Lankan cuisine, I can confidently say it was spicy.

Neela is a Multicultural Welcome Restaurant We recently went to Neela just for a casual lunch. What really stood out about Neela is how they welcome people from different backgrounds. It made us proud to see such inclusivity. To start, we had Chicken Samosas, which were mildly spicy but delicious. What made them special was the homemade Neela sauce. They even shared the recipe with us! Craving Sri Lankan food in Switzerland, for the main course we tried the Sri Lankan Kottu Rotti. It was fantastic and truly authentic, deserving a perfect score of 10/10. My husband ordered Chicken biryani, which was a bit unexpected. It came with flavorful rice (Briyani), along with Sri Lankan veg curries and chicken curry. While it wasn't what we expected, the flavors were still great. We enjoyed the curries with plain rice, savoring their authenticity. Neela's cleanliness and elegant interior design added to the experience. In short, we recommend Neela to anyone who appreciates authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. We plan to visit again and try their King Fish Curry Rice next time.

We went for evening dinner as a group of friends and liked the uncomplicated menu. I opted for the veggie curries with rice and asked for them extra spicy. The food was delicious. The waitresses were very friendly. I would have loved a few more non alcoholic drink options that were not just high sugar or water but it's a minor part. The food and service were excellent!

Restaurant
This mediterranean restaurant is known for its extensive menu of delicious pasta dishes, as well as excellent service and a cozy atmosphere. Its small menu list of traditional Italian food is no match for the mouth-watering dishes on offer, making it a must-go destination for anyone in the area.
Very cozy and delicious place, perfect for a night out. The staff is very professional and the food simply delicious, takes a nice twist on the traditional Italian cuisine. Super recommended!

The team truly deserves five stars! This restaurant is a hidden gem, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes every guest feel at home. The food and wine are simply exquisite, and the thoughtful touch at the end of the dinner adds to the experience. I will definitely be back!
Paola L — Google review
I tried Bottega Berta after a long time passing casually in front of it. Being Italian, I am always quite wary of trying Italian food in Zurich - most of the times overpriced and way too sophisticated. I am happy to have given this place a go, because it positively surprised me. Firstly, the ambiance is cozy and relaxed, and it’s located in a nice side street without much noise - so you can actually enjoy eating out. Secondly, staff was nice and welcoming - definitely made the difference. A waiter spoke good Italian, which truly made us feel welcome. He was very competent in recommending a good wine to me, and advised us to share different plates due to small portions. I’d say this is probably the only down side; portions aren’t too big - however they are in line with Zurich’s offering and prices are really fair for the area and the research put in creating dishes. It was nice to find the zucchini flowers, something so typical of Italy (first time found them here). They had a nice twist with goat cheese and honey, which reminded me of some typical Canarian appetiser. The panko frying was light and crispy. We then tried some sea trout with kohlrabi, yoghurt and mint sauce, perfectly balanced and fresh. As primo, we took the gnocchi with sepia. They were our favorite dish. Portion size was good, the consistency was perfect and so tasty yet not too salty. Fish was on the smaller side, but had we had bread, we would have scooped out the remaining sauce. As secondo,we took both fish and meat, to have the best of both worlds. I enjoyed my aubergines and meat, although this one was slightly hard. We weren’t asked on our cooking preference for the meat. The fish was good, but the slice was on the smaller side. However, tasty asparagus still made the dish worth a try. And finally, for deserts, the tiramisu was really good, but on the pricy side. Still, it had the amaretto component that I didn’t find in any of the many tried in Zurich. The mascarpone was also very creamy and not watery. As for the sour cream and rhubarb ice cream, the portion was too big (only exception of the evening), and it would have been perfect for two, unlike the tiramisu. The cherry on top was the homemade limoncello, which made us feel valued customers. It’s on the stronger side, but we find it a nice gesture for customers. We definitely recommend this place, and are happy to try new dishes in the future.
FoodBasics - — Google review
Went here for brunch and overall had a decent experience. The food itself was great – really nice flavor combinations and thoughtfully prepared. However, the menu was quite limited, and I found myself wishing there were a few more options to choose from. The wait time was unexpectedly long, especially considering I only ordered a piece of bread with a few toppings. Unfortunately, the egg that was supposed to come with it was forgotten. They did compensate for the mistake, which I appreciated, but it still felt like I missed out on the full experience. It was nice to try, and I can see the potential, but it likely won’t become my regular go-to for brunch.
Shan S — Google review
We found a hidden gem in Zurich. It is a a cozy place with a lot of charm and the food is just out of this world. We have few appetisers and then main...but we have sweet tooth as well so we needed to try desserts too. The gnocchi were amazing and the fiori di zucchini were really tasteful. We will definitely go back.
Victor L — Google review
Food and Service was very good. But portions size is quite small and price for it rather big. But again food was very good, worth a visit.
Pascal S — Google review
Maybe I am an uncurable romantic of giving this place 5 stars without being absolutely perfect. But clearly the pasta was great, they gave us a seat last minute without a reservation, lovely atmosphere and great service. Also interesting deep fried chestnuts dessert, even tho' wouldn't order again. Osso bucco was a little too hard for my taste.
Tiberiu H — Google review
Great food, but my goodness is the service slow. We waited 45 minutes before the appetizers and main, and dessert took a while to serve, too. The dishes are extremely small (except the desserts), so the prices can be deceivingly high. The terrace is on the corner of a busy street and a small local street where loud motorcycles frequent, so it's not very tranquil, I'm afraid. The staff inside is quite loud and the space is small, so expect it to be noisy as well. Overall recommended.

At Schwarzenbach, patrons can explore an array of teas, spices, vanilla, dried exotic fruits, nuts and jams while benefiting from the staff's extensive knowledge.
Really interesting shop in the centre of Zurich old town with a wide array of chocolate, teas, dried fruits and nuts, as well as preserves. The chocolate shop also sells hot chocolate and coffee and seemed to be doing a good trade when we visited. The staff were very helpful and had lots of knowledge on all their products. Great coffee in a cool little chocolate shop. Can see the coffee beams being roasted next door in an open window. Not much of an area to drink there, but can take to go to cool spots near by. Coffee was very good and the service was very friendly.

Many specialty grocery stores exist, but this is your best option if you're into tea, coffee, dried fruits, or chocolates! The store is roughly divided in half. Facing the building, the right half is dedicated mostly to tea and dried goods with a few other items thrown in. The left half sells specialty chocolate bars and coffee. If you're from the states you'll find those chocolate bars and other items surprisingly cheap. It's worth browsing just to see and smell the selection of this classic shopping choice. Staff is helpful and does speak English.

Love love this place. Delicious teas and hit chocolates, and I'm reliably informed the matches latte is very good too. Lovely staff and excellent cakes. The only drawback is how busy and popular it is, and how few seats there are. But very much worth a visit if you can secure a coveted seat!

The combination of crusty bread, smoky veggies, and rich mortadella creates an indulgent meal that leaves diners craving more.
I had a very nice sandwich. The vegetale, with a bunch of veggies. The mozzarella and all the veggies were really fresh and crispy. The bread was also fantastic and had a nice firmness! Hands down the best gelato we ever had the dark chocolate and mango were so delicious, they were so good that we had them twice the same night and still didn’t feel too sweet or full. The gelato was rich, creamy and full of flavours and perfect amount of sweetness, will recommend 100%

Very good gelato: the flavours are authentic, not so sweet like those where they use suger to bring out the taste. My favourite flavours are pistachio and tiramisu, the latter is so good that one has the impression of eating a tiramisu!

Wow, phenomenal gelato! It tastes like Italy. You can easily tell that this place is legit because the Pistachio ice cream is not green. Congrats to the team making this gelato. It was super flavorful, and amazing texture. I would come back and anyone visiting Zurich should come.

One of the best gelatos we tried, and we ended up going a total of three times during our stay. The gelato is perfectly smooth with strong flavours. There are a few unique combinations and some more traditional ones, and even across our three trips a new flavour was added so it seems there's always something different. The staff was also very friendly. Both staff members that served us were helpful and offered samples (sometimes without even asking for them). Prices might be a bit higher than other places but not by much for Zurich, and the quality here makes it worth the small increase.

This coffee shop has everything you could want. Outstanding coffee selection with expertly trained baristas, a delightful selection of pastries from a local bakery, and a great ambience especially on a sunny Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Needing an almond croissant and coffee fix, I went the distance (literally) to this google recommended cafe in Zurich. Sadly to say, I did not get the fix I wanted. The croissant was perhaps the least favourite I have had in years cos it was quite fluff and just empty carbs with lacking substance. Coffee was decent, and the saving grace would be the warm friendliness of the staff. And when I related my spending (CHF14.75 = SGD$23.50) and experience later to a local Swiss friend, I was told I might have been reaped off for the price I paid for just a usual coffee and less than satisfactorily almond croissant 🤔😅? It was indeed super expensive, though in my case.

Mame Coffee is one of those places where you can tell right away that the people behind the counter really care about what they’re serving. We tried a few different drinks: a straight hot black, a coffee with milk, and a filter pour over. Each one had its own character, but what stood out was the consistency and attention to detail. The pour over especially felt like it was made with patience and precision, not rushed at all. The space itself is cozy but can get crowded quickly, which makes sense since it’s clearly a popular spot. They also sell beans, and the range is pretty wide. You can grab something approachable for everyday brewing or splurge on something like a Panamanian Geisha if you’re in the mood to treat yourself. Prices vary a lot, but that’s part of the fun. It’s nice to have options depending on how deep you want to go into the coffee rabbit hole. Overall, Mame is a solid stop for anyone serious about their coffee.

Very serious third wave coffee shop. The barista was award winning and they had 6 kinds of espresso. There was also competition level beans available. I had a geisha filter coffee and purchased some competition level beans to try at home. The flat white was very nice also. Nice spot for pour over coffee with cool, knowledgeable employees.

There’s no doubt that this coffee shop is well-loved— and for good reason! The coffee is consistently delicious. The baked goods match well with the coffee. The employees are friendly. The interior and exterior are beautiful. The surrounding area is quiet. I recently tried their watermelon espresso tonic drink (?) (something like that), and it was one of the best espresso tonics I’ve had. Judging from the name, I assumed it was a word from Swiss-German (as someone who does not speak Swiss German). Turns out, they named it mame bc it’s the word for bean in Japanese 😭 as a Japanese person, I never thought I would see a coffee shop with a Japanese word in Zurich! Really cool!
Mari — Google review
Always delivers the perfect coffee experience! By now MAME cannot be considered a secret rip anymore but if you are in Zurich, definitely pay a visit! Even better, this one still feels like your cozy neighborhood café while delivering absolute perfection. And the baristas are always super nice, too!

MAME is one of the best spots in Zurich for specialty coffee lovers. I tried both the filter and espresso, and the flavors were outstanding and diverse. The atmosphere is calm and cozy, with a simple yet elegant design that focuses on the coffee experience. The staff are very friendly and enjoy sharing their knowledge about beans and brewing methods. Prices are slightly higher than regular cafés, but the quality makes it worth it. A must-visit for true coffee enthusiasts.

Really varied shopping and dining venue in modern buildings next to the station. Food was rather good although typically expensive given its location. Service is swift and food is ordered via QR code menu. Food can be collected from counters, or you can pay an additional fee to get dishes delivered directly to your table. Atmosphere was good and the place had a real buzz about it. The food was generally very good bar the pulled pork tacos which were pretty bland. There’s a real range of dining options and the shopping areas are really varied and good quality too. Well worth a visit for food and a browse.

I visited here today. The coffee and bread were very delicious. However, I was going to the restroom and I was surprised to see a painting on the wall. The Rising Sun Flag, which symbolizes Japanese imperialism and war crimes, was hanging on the wall. I never imagined that I would see a restaurant with the Rising Sun Flag, which symbolizes such aggression and militarism, in neutral Switzerland. The more shocking thing was that no one had a problem with this painting. The Rising Sun Flag causes trauma to the war victims. I would like to believe that you did it without knowing the meaning of this. Please get rid of this painting.

Strongly advise against dining at the restaurant BRIDGE in Zürich! This dining experience was the poorest I have encountered, see below. I am older and very well-traveled. I have visited restaurants in many, many countries. The quality has, of course, varied, and the most expensive does not always represent the best-prepared food. With that said, I would strongly advise against dining at the restaurant BRIDGE in Zürich, Switzerland, where both the food and service were among the worst I have ever experienced! I have also lived and worked in Switzerland for many years, and Switzerland is normally well-known for its excellent food and superb ingredients, this was not the case at Bridge in Zürich. At the restaurant BRIDGE in Zürich, near the Hauptbahnhof, we had difficulty understanding the complicated system of ordering from a small menu directly from the waitress, as well as ordering via a QR code in an app that guests are supposed to download. It didn’t help that the waitress was very poor at both German and English. We managed to order an Aperol Spritz as an aperitif. When it was time to serve the aperitif, the waitress did not know which table it was intended for. She went from table to table asking the guests before ultimately reaching our table. When it finally arrived at our table, no straw was provided in the drink, an Aperol Spritz always comes with a straw. A fresh slice of orange is conventionally expected in an Aperol. In the drink we were served, however, only a dried and evidently older piece of orange was provided. Unfortunately, the drink tasted only of water and was barely colored by the Aperol. ;-( Shortly after the aperitif arrived at our table, the white wine camed in. We said that we wanted the white wine served cold with the main course; the waitress then said that the main course would be coming right away, but we had to wait 15 minutes after the serving of the wine before the main course was served. :-( For the main course, we ordered fish with vegetables, at which point the waitress stated: 'We have no vegetables.' We asked whether there were truly no vegetables available, and she repeated, 'No, we have no vegetables.' We therefore ordered a single potato (one piece) priced at 4 CHF; the potato was very dry. The fish (zander fillet) was remarkably small, yet it still cost 22 CHF. During our main course, the waitstaff moved hurriedly between tables, inquiring whether guests had ordered aperitifs, despite the fact that it should have been apparent that those already consuming their main course would not require one. Although there were small water glasses placed on the table, we had to explicitly request water. The waitress brought a jug and filled the glasses only halfway, despite their already modest size. For ordinary tap water, we were charged 8.50 CHF, which is an exceptionally high price. Overall, the service and organisation at the restaurant BRIDGE in Zurich fell markedly below acceptable standards. It was an exceptionally substandard experience. Overall, this dining experience was the poorest I have encountered, and indeed the worst I have ever heard of.

Santa Lucia is an Italian restaurant in Niederdorf, offering a relaxed and casual ambiance suitable for family gatherings. The menu features a wide selection of good-value pasta and pizza, with the added convenience of late-night service until 2 am. Guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor seating while savoring hearty meals. Some diners have praised the incredible pizza with customizable toppings, fresh ingredients, and exceptional crust.
The place can be described as the most elite GEM! Literally everything from how we were greeted to each and every item we had were just top notch quality & extremely delicious. I really want to go and try more of the items. I loved the interior which was super cozy and had a very lovable vibe. People who attended to us were super polite. All the best to the owners and each and every staff for maintaining such an amazing place. Happy Fooding !!!!

The atmosphere of this restaurant is romantic and very relaxing. The food was excellent and prepared perfectly. The only reason for 4 stars overall was the service. Our server was not friendly or attentive. For example, he did not ask if we needed beverage refills and did not come back to our table until several minutes after we finished the meal. All of food came was brought to our table simultaneously (appetizer, salad and pizza). Again, the vibe and were excellent, our server needed improvement.

I tried the pizza & Italian soup, and chicken pasta. The pizza and soup were good and full of flavor. The pasta, however, it was cold and tasted quite simple, but overall it was still a nice experience.

Good Italian food in Zurich. Started with a salami, prosciutto and cheese anti pasto. Came with olives and focaccia. All just as good as it is in Toscana. Also had a “Swiss” pizza with certain local cheeses and mushrooms and a mushroom sauce. The crust was perfectly cooked but a little thin. Wife had arrabbiata which also was just as good as it is in Tuscany. Service was above average and the atmosphere was perfect.

Eating out on the courtyard terrace was nice. Our Italian speaking waiter was very professional and definitely in the right profession as you could see how he enjoyed his work and making the guests feel at home. I had aubergine with cheese that was really delicious. My husband had lasagna that was good too. The red wine was of high quality even if the wine was open (available by glass). Only minus is the high price level but I guess this is a problem everywhere in Switzerland.

After an extensive search online for Italian cuisine in Zurich, we decided to visit Santa Lucia in Marktgasse. On arrival, we were greeted and shown to a lovely spacious area at the back of the restaurant. The space was filled with natural light thanks to the large windows, which added to the relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Our server welcomed us and, after a short wait, took our drinks order. We placed our food order shortly after and our starter arrived not long later. There was a small mix-up with the dish, but the team quickly corrected it and we appreciated the swift response. The foccacia bread we had was very enjoyable and set us up nicely for the rest of the meal. We then received our pizza and pasta dishes, both of which were lovely and full of flavour. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience in a great location right in the heart of Zurich.

Recommended by a local for good Italian food, this was an absolute delight. If you're in Zurich, you must at least once dine-in here. They're a chain so find one closest to you. It was a lazy Monday afternoon and we went in with expectations, to which they stood high. We're seated at the garden area, beautiful set up. Take a look at the pictures. Lovely staff. Great selection of wines. We ordered pasta, one Frutti di Mare and a Pesto Genovese. Great food, followed by lovely Tiramisu. Some 80 bucks for two, that's a steal. We had a lovely afternoon, thank you!

The contadina pasta (with spaghetti) was very tasty but the quattro staggioni pizza was a disappointment. Overall, service was decent and price was reasonable for the area. I would suggest ordering a second pasta instead of going with a pizza here. The Quattro was too floppy and bare on sauce and toppings.

Migros is a prominent Swiss supermarket chain, along with Coop, that offers a wide range of products including fresh produce, meat, dairy, bakery items, and other groceries. They also provide additional services such as pharmacies and banks in some locations. The company also runs the Migros Museum which showcases contemporary art and offers free entry on Thursday evenings.
This grocery store literally has everything! From drinks to hot food to all types of different origins of products. I can find things from parts of the world from here and of course their Switzerland options / products are incredible! The price of each item is very reasonable and they allow you to use their Migros card to build up in store points. I’m amazed at how much there is to explore here, and how clean the store is being kept. Definitely one of my favorite grocery stores! Migros never disappoints

Migros is a Swiss supermarket chain that operates numerous stores throughout the country, including one at Löwenplatz in Zurich. The Löwenplatz store likely offers a wide range of products, including fresh produce, meat, dairy, bakery items, and other groceries. I really liked my stay at this hotel. I love the breakfast they prepare, it was a good Experience so far. Yet what i didn’t understand was why there was not always someone at the bar, you always have to go to the reception to have someone serve you there. The staff are very friendly! i got some Great advice from a Beautiful young woman with Curly hair at the reception i cannot recall her name, but she spoke english perfectly and helped my find some very nice spots in zurich to check out! Very nice hotel. Rooms are basic yet very comfortable. You get very good sleep. Tim size is good as per Swiss Standard. A tea kettle should have been kept. It’s a basic need. Feel warm and safe and comfortable in this place. Close to tram stations. And there s good food choices near by. If yu aren’t looking for a decent place - some luxury , here you are.

Location was convenient and the room was modern and clean. The basic room was tight as expected (no desk or upright chair) but I was disappointed to note that there was no coffee machine or fridge either. I considered this a bit too sparse given the price range and competing options.

Clearly a chain - although generic, it was very clean and comfortable enough for a two night stay. The location is great - not loud and still central. The standard rooms are mega small but it didn’t bother us, as we didn’t spend much time inside. Overall, not bad at all! The ventilation in the bathroom wasn’t great and the door was heavy and would shut down, so it was impossible to keep it open unless propped with something. Carpeted floors are never my favorite.

Maison Blunt is a Moroccan-style cafe located near 25hours Hotel Langstrasse in Zurich. The venue offers a laid-back atmosphere with a leafy terrace and ornate tearoom, making it an ideal spot for enjoying Moroccan couscous and tagine dishes. The decor features tiled mosaic floors, colorful walls, and large round tables suitable for groups. Visitors can indulge in giant meze platters and enjoy the vintage highchairs.
The reviews were excellent so I decided to give this place a shot...and was not disappointed. The falafel sandwich was delicious, with a nice layer of hummus spread over top. The salad and french fries that came with it were also good. Great selection of food and drink. Try this place out if you’re in the area.

Hard choice. It’s more than four but less than five :D but it gets five from me because the waiter suggested to us to take smaller plates with the comment the bigger one might be too much. We paid 85 CHF for two people for one big mezze platter and six small meat picks and three beers in total. It was actually even too much for us. The hummus is incredible delicious and the Köfte were the best I’ve ever had. Also the bread is more than enough.

There's also a nice terrace where you can enjoy the food when the weather is nice, as well as an ornate tearoom, if this is your cup of tea 😁. Oh, and they also have brunches, so that's one extra point on the awesome list! Definitely give it a go!

Very good atmosphere, open space with nice decorations and vibes. Service was very friendly and food selection great! It was very busy when we went there so we had to wait about half an hour to be served but the wait was worth it! We ordered some side dishes like hummus and mussaka this last one was delicious! For main courses I highly recommend the eggplant with sweet potatoe and feta, I will for sure try to copy this one at home!

Moroccan food in zurich! I like the decoration, cozy atmosphere, best service. Food wise, the mezze is really thing to pick. You could try so many small things, so fun! Taste wise, all ok except that I don’t like the grill chicken, meat on sticks so much. The best one for me is Aubergine, tomatoes paste.

I was going to stay Friday and Saturday night but canceled the second night due to the loud music coming from the dance club nearby. The bass is so loud you can feel it while sitting in the room. Apparently this happens every weekend. So, for the weekend, unless you yourself are a clubber, I would avoid. Other than that it’s a decent place to stay. Great location, friendly staff that were apologetic for the situation and refunded me for the second night without hesitation. The room is similar to other Citizens M I’ve stayed. (NYC Midtown and Bowery, and one in London.) The rooms are small but clean and great if you’re solo, not so much if your with your partner due to the way the bed is situated. One person has to climb over the other to get up in the middle of the night. The technology that Citizen M uses to control lighting, blinds, media and climate is now dated. This was cool a decade ago and needs to be updated. I agree with other comments that said the rooms were too warm and difficult to cool down. Good breakfast and a pleasant place to hang out.
Spencer C — Google review
3.75/5 The hotel has an amazing location, which felt very safe and made exploring Zurich easy and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful, the technology in the room was modern, and the bed was comfortable. I also appreciated the views from the window. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was a major issue. The “fresh” towels we received were already dirty, the bed sheets did not feel clean, and shockingly, the housekeeper had left a cleaning towel inside the bed under the blanket, which I only discovered when I laid down and felt something strange. This was unacceptable. The bathroom is very small, almost like one you’d find on an airplane, but still functional. Overall, while the location and comfort were good, the cleanliness needs serious improvement.
Fawaz K — Google review
Fantastic modern hotel in the heart of the city, just 10m away walk from the center. The hotel check in is very convenient and modern, you just arrive and do the check in with a device that even lets you choose where you want your room views to look at! Fantastic check in experience really. The rooms are quite small (specially the bathroom) but incredibly modern. Everything in the room (lights, air, blinds…) are controlled via an iPad which is really convenient and honestly fun. The beds are super comfortable, one of the best sleeps I’ve had in my life. Nevertheless, the rooms could be a bit cleaner. There were spots on the walls and sofas. Overall, great hotel to go alone or with your partner. Would definitely recommend and come back to it. Especially the modern touches makes it special

Big modern hotel. Well located walking distance to many shops, restaurants, etc. Spacious and clean rooms and large lobby/ lounge meeting areas. Comfortable bed and good natural light. Guests control the room lights, temperature and other features via a tablet. It’s somewhat over-engineered and less effective than it’s intended to be. There’s an ironing room on every floor for shared guest use. The iron in my floor and the floor below didn’t work making it quite inconvenient having to go two floors down to get ready. I notified the front desk and the man was a bit condescending and should step up his customer experience skills.

A great “local” find among the throngs of tourist bars and restaurants in Old Town Zürich! Several locals recommended the place, so we stopped by in the afternoon for a brief respite from walking and a cocktail, and we made a reservation for dinner. Both visits were memorable. The afternoon cocktails were spritzes, the fruit of the day and Campari. Both delicious. We looked over the menus and decided to return for dinner. The restaurant is Bavarian-owned, and the family maintains its own beef (and butchers). Meat is the main card here. Great choice for dinner! Service was good… attentive but not intrusive. The local crowd swelled during the dinner hour, but the staff kept up just fine! We had salads and roasted bone marrow to start things off. Salad was cold, fresh and crisp, light dressing. The bone marrow was piping hot, lightly salted, served with toasted bread. By all measures, the best bone marrow we’ve ever had! Entrees brought one of the special cuts of the evening, 8-year old cow (female) and the veal loin chop. Both were amazing! We weren’t sure about cow, but the waitress insisted, glad she did. Both cuts expertly prepared, and we shared the roasted artichoke as a side (half the restaurant was eating artichokes, so we knew we’d chosen well). We shared a bottle of Champagne for dinner. We were worried about the temp, but it was served cold and an ice bucket did the rest. Delicious! Dessert included rhubarb crumble with sour cream ice cream (don’t knock it until you’ve tried it, it’s great!), and a plate of fresh strawberries. Absolutely fabulous dinner all the way around. A definite 5-star experience on a busy weekend night. Highly recommend Lotti in Old Town Zürich!

Went there for some afterwork bubbles witha friend. First of all: there is a lot of space outside and the tables are not too dense. I can recommend for dates :) The standard prosecco is really good and (for Zurich) reasonably priced. The food selection is very careful, it has this traiteur vibe. Inside is cosy as well but I can really revommend the terrace. I had goat cheese, it was so good i ordered a secon portion, my friend ravioli. The service is super nice!

We went for dinner on a Sunday evening and it was such an enjoyable experience! From the inviting and cosy decor to the absolutely fantastic food and drinks and multilingual staff, everything was A+! The whole menu is vegan and draws inspiration mainly from Moroccan and Spanish cuisine. I highly recommend the chai soda and the deep fried potato appetizer.

It was nice enough but for this price, I think we’d be expecting a bit more: nicer chairs and tables, for example. It was my second time visiting and I remember the food was tastier. It’s nice enough but not for the money you pay.
Joanna P — Google review
We went to DAR for my mothers bithday, and decided on the more expensive ”journey” menu. It started of great with an presentation of the food and it was very tasty. After a few minutes it started going sideways, the dish we had gotten (a kind of soup) was purley made of the vegetables I had explained earlier that I was allergic to and I had an allergic reaction. Luckily my allergy isn’t that treathening and I could continue the dinner. The second dishes that were brought in included a few different meals with nuts, that we also were very clear with that my brother is allergic to. Luckily they told us that the dishes included nuts, and we could clairify once again that we had allergies. They brought a supplement dish for my brother and we thought everything was fine. That was the last round of meals that we got, and finally we went to the bar and told them that we were tired and didn’t want to wait for the rest of the food… We spent 3 hours around the table, and got served food that we had made clear beforehand that we were allergic to (and reasured that they could make supplement dishes) until we decided to get up and leave (it was already around 22:30, and we arrived at 19:45) After they had reduced the price a little because we left before all the dishes had come, we payed a total of CHF 223….

Interesting concept: all tapas have vibrant flavors, where acidity, freshness and spices dominate the scene. Most of the dishes look simple but, do not be fooled, it takes a great technique and attention to details to balance the compositions. The cocktails are also very good and perfectly companion the journey. We took the large menu and for the price I was expecting a third round of tapas or at least a "main" tapas dish. So, in spite having enough calories, I had the impression of a missing crescendo or a lack of change of rhythm of the meal, since all the dishes where small and fresh bites.
Michelangelo D — Google review
Went there for brunch! Even though the place, atmosphere and service are nice, the food was too spicy for me (we got 3 dishes and all were spicy at a point where you could not taste the main ingredient). Also the food felt more like lunch, rather than brunch. So I guess it depends on someone's preferences if good or not! For me I didnt really like it. The Moroccan tea was very good though.
Christina T — Google review
Incredibly diverse vegan brunch. One of the best I ever had at a restaurant. Will be coming back, again and again. On top, a nice atmosphere, both inside and outside, and very friendly and attentive staff. The only two improvements I would make are better coffee (the espresso is rather bitter), and better sound dampening indoors. It can be rather loud when it is busy.
J — Google review
Our recent visit to Restaurant DAR left us with mixed impressions. 1) the bill included a Bruno Dangin Rosé, which we never ordered. While minor in monetary terms, such discrepancies are concerning in an establishment aspiring to refinement. 2) We ordered two Dar Journey menus (the top Chef menu). However, the sequence we received was not consistent with the same menu presented to neighboring tables!!: they were served an additional course (a spring-roll–style dish), which was absent from our table. When we asked at the end, the staff explained that the “surprise menu” allows the kitchen to decide differently for each table!!!!!!. While variety is an interesting concept, no replacement dish was offered, leaving our experience incomplete !!!!!!! 3) the reliance on potato as one of the main ingredient in both the starter (perhaps sth like patatas bravas) and the main course (perhaps lentejas con puré de patata) diminished the sense of variety and balance expected from a multi-course menu. Though competently executed, the repetition limited the impression of creativity. Portions were smaller than expected, the fried mushroom was oily. mmmmm!!!!

KLE in Zurich absolutely blew me away. I opted for the 6 dosch tasting menu and every dish was a story. It was clever just full of character. The super soft pillow bread with its trio of dips set the tone perfectly, and from there it just got better: pumpkin tostada, creamed pumpkin custard, a wild edamame salad with espresso sorbet (yes, that worked even though im not a fan of coffee), and a silky aguachile with pan-fried kohlrabi. The New York-style deli hotdog was pure fun, and the BBQ’d lion’s mane mushroom with plum and romanesco foam was just stunning. Topping it all off was a pistachio ganache with raspberry, cookie dough and a caramelised disc on top ...it was pure indulgence done right. I feel bad writing out the dishes because it spoils the fun! But I'm excited to share to entice others to experience what i did! Service? Impeccable. Warm, attentive thoughtful, and clearly passionate about the food they serve. KLE isn’t just a great vegan restaurant, it’s one of the most creative and soulful dining experiences I’ve ever had. And I urge everyone to try this at least once in their life!

Giving full five stars, one of the dishes felt a little bit of work in progress but in a way that made this Michelin star plant based vegan restaurant feel alive creative and authentic. I really felt like they were punching above one star level on food concept, taste, creativity and quality. We had a nice wine (barolo with 10 years age) and the were clearly a lot of though which went into the food. We got lucky to have white alba truffles and the dessert was really amazing one of the best vegan dessert I’ve had with a nice origin story. Highly recommended dining experience

An exceptional experience. KLE shows just how far you can go with vegetables and natural ingredients. I had the six-course tasting menu – every course was a surprise, precise, creative, and full of depth. Nothing felt repetitive or predictable. Service was outstanding. Even though my reservation got lost due to some changes, the team took care of it immediately and with genuine warmth. The ambiance is calm, stylish, and perfectly suited to this kind of cuisine. The wine selection is excellent and thoughtfully paired. KLE is one of those places that proves what plant-based cooking can be today: bold, inventive, and truly memorable. From start to finish, an experience. Highly recommended.

I've been here before, many years ago and I was kind of unsure if I wanted to return because it has been hype so much ever since (and many restaurants change due to the hype). My first visit was such a lovely experience. Laid back, down to earth, a simple table outside but still, beautiful plates and bowls and top notch plating. One look on the plate and it was undeniable that here was a kitchen wizard at work. And she even came by, visited every table and genuinely asked if we liked the dishes. .. So, yes, still down to earth and still worth a visit. My favourite dish was the flavour packed taco. I could have ordered a huge basket of it and call it a day, happily munching away on them. My partner in dine ordered bread and spreads over and over again as he loved it so much. I got excited when I read they had an nonalcoholic and indeed, an inspiring choice. Next favourite dish was the oh so crunchy trunip cabbage. It was "torched" but even more crunchy than a raw turnip cabbage. I was baffled how that's possible. And obliviously, it was beautifully cut like an accordion (I tried, you could endeed pull it and squeeze it). I loved the epazote herb in the cucumber drink. An amazing flavour. Next herbal sunshine of the spotless mind was the oh so cherished shiso leaf in the dessert! I adore shiso but I mainly ate it in rather savoury dishes. I loved the surprising combination. The service was wonderful. I really enjoyed that they knew what they were talking about. One of them even brought the bag of Swiss rice to the table because I was surprised they'd use Swiss Jasmine rice. They've used it to make a drink and I loved it. I'm happy to see they are still down to earth while being successful.

Speechless, truly an experience beyond just food. We weren't sure where to go when we got into town and wanted to go to the sister restaurant Dar, but they were closed (moving to a new location). I am sorry to say that I'm glad that happened so that we could experience KLE. We came in not knowing what to expect, which made the experience even sweeter! It felt inappropriate to take photos during our courses so I ended up only snapping a picture of dessert. I don't know where to begin but will say this... Chef Zizi is an artist in every definition of the word. From the very first dish we knew we were in for a complete treat. Often we got lost in the bites, you just simply have to see and taste for yourself. The presentation was spectacular and no detail is missed. There's a course with a NYC style hotdog, and my husband fully had a Ratatouille moment where he was transported back to being a child in the city eating them. And same here, we could barely savor anything because everything was so tasty, we wanted to inhale it. Every single ingredient is unbelievably fresh and cooked to perfection. I'm usually completely disappointed with non-alcoholic pairings as they are typically awful zero proof disasters... that was the opposite of the case at KLE. While my husband enjoyed the epic wine pairings which he couldn't get enough of. The rose kiefer pairing was MARVELOUS and I asked for more at the end of the courses, haha. The restaurant has such a nice bathroom, which was another signal to the quality of every single thing there. If servers in Europe are extremely nice and attentive, you know it's about to be expensive (I mean this in the nicest way possible), it's a measure - hahaha. I hope to make it back here again one day, anyone who has the pleasure to be near or travel to must not hesitate to eat here as soon as they can. Pros: Extremely friendly staff, Boundless creativity in each dish, Beautiful location Cons: Priiiiicey

Amazing Michelin Star VEGAN restaurant in Zurich. We did the 6 course meal and wine tasting, and it was incredible. The creative food offered flavors that were both innovative and delightful. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented, and bursting with unique combinations that showcased the chef's exceptional talent. The wine pairings were expertly chosen, enhancing each course and elevating the overall dining experience. The ambiance was elegant yet cozy, and the staff were knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring every detail was perfect. This restaurant sets a new standard for vegan cuisine, proving that plant-based dining can be both sophisticated and incredibly satisfying. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the pinnacle of vegan gastronomy.

So blown away by this place. The food, the ambience, the service, it had it all! I'm always wary of fine dining sometimes because you often pay a pretty penny for good food that leaves you hungry afterwards, but Kle is not like that. Not only is the food absolutely delicious and surprising, with really interesting flavors, but it also leaves you so full and satisfied. I'm so impressed and will definitely be back. I'll also be dreaming of the pillow bread for the rest of my life.

The bistro Salon is a cosy and relaxed space with seating outdoors. Its cool, colourful décor and friendly staff add to the appeal. There is a great variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options available including omelets, sandwiches, Continental breakfasts and even croissants brought in glass display cases. It's definitely worth checking out for any French-themed occasions!
I’ve visited twice—once for brunch and once for dinner—and both experiences were fantastic. The food is delicious, and their outdoor seating is perfect for enjoying brunch in warm weather. Great service all around, plus they offer a Salon Bar, Bistro, and Restaurant setup, so you can really choose the vibe you’re after. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful food and terrace. We loved the food, the portion size was great and a soup or salad was even included in the price. As pricing goes for Zürich, this place felt very fair based on the quality of the food we received. Service was friendly, although a little slow at times. But the terrace was so nice in the sun that we were happy to sit and relax. We will definitely come back again the the future! Edit: wanted to add that the food was all seasonal, which is always a wonderful bonus!

Pancakes were okay and coffee was good. Not the best pancakes I have had, but they did help my empty stomach. Consider they don’t make adaptations to their dishes i.e. eggs as a side dish on my pancakes.

We went for dinner and public viewing and witnessed Switzerland beat Italy in the Euro24. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating to our child. The food was very tasty, I had the cheeseburger with fries and we shared desserts like the lava cake and cheesecake. Overall, we were very satisfied and recommend this french bistro-style restaurant.

Nice bar with varied brunch options and nice coffee. I had one of the best affogatos in town, in taste and in aesthetics. Quiet location separated from the city centre, and fantastic terrace to enjoy the summer. Average prices too.

I was there with 4 or 5 friends and we found a good location and a good food. People were nice to us and they explained to me thee gluten free menu. I suggest to go as for sure you have good food and there were a lot of people eating mussels. It is the speciality. Price standard for the zurich. My friend appreciated and the tartar was pretty good. Overall I recommend it to all my friends

ROSI Restaurant is a delightful gem that elevates traditional Bavarian cuisine to a fresh and vibrant level. With a modern twist, it offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying the beloved Sunday brunch known as 'Frühschoppen.' On sunny weekends, guests can indulge in an authentic Bavarian spread at Zurich's most elegant beer garden, featuring classics like Weisswurst and Strammer Max alongside refreshing König Ludwig Weissbier.
Our recent visit to Rosi Restaurant in Zurich was truly delightful. With a group of four, we enjoyed a wonderful 4-course dinner, and found everything to be super satisfying. The terrace is a fantastic spot, offering a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy our meal. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, enhancing our dining experience with their attentive service. The Bavarian food was excellent, with each course showcasing the rich and hearty flavors of the cuisine. We highly recommend trying it if you are in the area. While the prices are a bit high, they are quite typical for Zurich nowadays. Overall, Rosi Restaurant impressed us with its delicious cuisine and warm hospitality, making for a memorable evening.

My impromptu dinner at Rosi ended up being a major highlight from my brief stop in Zürich. I had made the solo reservation for the wrong evening, but the staff accommodated me anyway. While I had only really wanted to try the fabled cordon bleu, I ended up going the tasting menu route and I don’t regret it at all. Between the incredibly delicious and equally inventive dishes, the impeccable service including friendly and passionate explanations by the head chef Markus Stöckle, and the wonderful vibe of the restaurant as it became more vibrant through the night… it was such a phenomenal experience. The attention to detail even came down to the fact that they brought me some cool books to read, since I was alone. Bravo to the team at Rosi – you’ve added a great travel story to my repertoire, of the time I had an unforgettable Bavarian fine dining experience in Zürich. 🙏🏼🖤

What a great evening at Rosi! I was craving flavor and oh boy, did I get it! We chose the smaller degustation option to leave room for some of the classics from the à la carte menu. It was a tight squeeze, for anyone doubting whether the smaller tasting menu is enough, believe me, it is. The dinner was full of pleasant little surprises. Starting the meal with a palate cleanser was a brilliant touch. The food was excellently executed and presented in an unpretentious manner, with a bit of humor throughout. Service was extremely efficient, well organized, friendly, and attentive. Another nice touch was the collaboration with local designers. You could feel that every little detail had been thoughtfully considered. We will definitely be back!

Whimsical, intentional, and abundant ♥️ It was a joy to dine at ROSI and experience the food, atmosphere, and the remarkable attention to detail. We came with our two little dogs and were given a comfortable corner of the restaurant where we had more space to ourselves. A water bowl had already been set beside our table before we even arrived - such a small, yet thoughtful touch. What particularly impressed us was the consistency in offering a true culinary adventure for every guest. My husband has several allergies, and every single dish was carefully adapted to his needs and prepared with true creativity and care. Markus (the chef) popped by our table during dinner to greet us and it was such a cheerful and heartwarming interaction that added yet another layer of warmth to the entire experience. We genuinely couldn’t have had a better time. We’re in awe of the craft and heart that go into every dish and into making ROSI such a special place 🌸

Excellent restaurant! Love this modern take on Bavarian cuisine: it’s surely Bavarian and yet with a slight twist that brings a novel taste to familiar cuisine. It’s creative and fun - definitely will be a memorable experience! Highly recommended. My only suggestion to the owners is to work on cocktail menu - 4 drinks is not enough to support 3 hours meal. and those are quite small and diluted with ice a lot.
Yana K — Google review
This is really a unique experience from start to finish. It starts with the artful plating of the food, continues with the delicious flavors and ends with a nice story of the chef.

Delicious food with interesting concept. We tried brunch here. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. They serve Mame coffee, which I like, but there was no option to choose Cappuccino (which was bit weird). Due to small portion, it was quite pricey.

Delicious Bavarian food with a delicate touch! If you are looking for a big hearty plate of Bratwurst or Schweinshaxe then perhaps this place may not be for you. The food comes in smaller portions which work best when shared, and this allows you to try a lot of what is on the menu without needing to be air lifted our of the restaurant afterwards. This is definitely a good thing too as it's all delicious. For those of you like myself who ignorantly thought Bavarian food was a slightly sluggish symphony of beige, prepare to have your perspective changed. The dishes were varied, vibrant, and really well presented. The Schitzel was as good as any I've ever eaten (I've I've eaten a few in my time!). Service was great too - very friendly and laid back. Would definitely return.

Excellent location and better sized room than I thought. V comfortable and had a great stay. Only reason I have given 4 stars instead of 5 is there is some construction going on in front of hotel which makes the transfer of luggage tiresome. Now i understand it’s not hotels fault that some construction on road is going on but I think they should let us know once we book in there initial mail so we can take informed decision if we want to stay here or get so much luggage .

We stayed in October 2025 and it has been a pleasant experience. Location is everything. Walkable distance to the famous landmark of Zurich. You can enjoy the area because of how well this hotel was situated. Our rooms are spacious compared to European hotel sizes which we really appreciate. There’s a small fridge, tea and coffee maker. The staff at their reception were extremely helpful. Our small requests were accommodated promptly. Their breakfast was decent. Fresh fruits, eggs, ham, bacon. I just wished they have a drip coffee or pot coffee in the kitchen so we do not need to ask for coffee refills all the time. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again when visiting Zürich.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Located exactly at the center of the city. The rooms were incredibly clean and well equipped (they even provide bags for dirty clothes), and have more than enough space especially for 2 people. All of the employees were extremely kind and as for the breakfast, even though it doesn't offer a huge variety, everything was tasty and healthy. Literally nothing to complain about, I'd recommend this place to everyone wanting to stay in Zürich.

The location is very good and the room was specious and comfortable. The bathroom could be cleaner. There is no air conditioner in the room (only 1 electric fan) so it might be warm during the summer. I stayed there in mid Sep and was comfortable enough with the fan.

Location, location, location!! This is such a nice little boutique hotel located in the center of the old town. I could not have been happier with my choice as I was going to be doing a lot of walking and relying on public transportation. There were so many cute shops and amazing restaurants nearby. Most people want to go to the very famous shopping district in Zurich, but I prefer the quaint little shops nearby, which seem to have more of a personal touch with customer service. Now, for the actual hotel aside from the outsiding location. I know many reviews mentioned the rooms being warm, and I felt that at first. But, the room has a very powerful fan that made the temperature comfortable. The floors in the bathroom were heated. The size of my room with a queen bed would be perfect for a solo traveler like me or maybe a couple. For the best part, the guest services. Eliano was there the majority of the time during my 6 night stay. He was able to help me out on the best way to navigate where I wanted to go on my travels. He was so polite and friendly with all the guests coming and going. This is so important when you are attending to people from all over the world and maybe do not speak the native language of Switzerland. Before my trip, I had people tell me not to base my entire stay in Zurich. I was so happy I didn't listen to them and got to explore this beautiful city. I was happy to come back to my hotel room at night, where I felt safe and comfortable. I would gladly recommend this hotel to others!
Lusa S — Google review
location and size of rooms was excellent , bed was broken and collapsed and i had to sleep on an angle without support. No air condition on the hottest week of the year and not accomodated with an extra fan. i would make sure you check weather before you book and avoid room 32 due to horrible bed at an angle without support.

Outdated furniture. The reception is not manned all the time so if you arrive late you are stuffed. Not very customer friendly. They give you the feeling they are doing you a favour by letting you stay there. This hotel badly needs refurbishing and new management

The first Thai restaurant that was not flexible to prepare chicken massaman since they just prepare it with beef. The pieces of meat were too big. The papaya salad was great, it has less taste of oyster sauce as usual, which is good. The Satay sticks were also fine, the sauce it’s not the common peanut sauce you get. And the suggestion of the house, the duck, was really good (I would prepare it less sweet) but it was tasty.

We came to the restaurant at one of the hottest evenings in Zurich's history and they don't have AC. It was steaming hot and we suffered all the way through. Hopefully, this isn't the case if/when you arrive. The food is very tasty and spicy as described in the menu. The Chef does have a problem with salt though as the different currys where way too salty (not the Satay skewers though which were lovely).

The shop features beans from the Stoll coffee company, offering various bean varieties for filter coffee and espresso drinks, as well as meticulously prepared pour over coffee. Customers can enjoy light roasts and a vibrant ambiance, although it may not be suitable for studying due to loud music.
What a lovely little café this was. I stopped by during my short visit to Zürich, and was greeted by a warm and inviting interior and barista. The space was effortlessly cool and comfortable, and I loved the Honduran espresso I had so much, that I bought a bag of the same beans to take with me. The banana bread was fire as well. Definitely not recommended for chai latte. It is a pure super sweet syrup. Then they only offer oats milk as plant based option, which is terrible for the health, increasing the sugar spike already from the chai syrup. The chai latte came luckewarm so it got cold immediately. I asked if I could have some warm water poured in it and then I got boiling water so I totally brunt my tongue. It is a pity that the service is so poor since the place is very appealing and has a nice alternative aesthetic.

I was sitting outside and had just ordered the new filter coffee from Kenya when there was a very loud bang. A guest broke the glass door, accidentally as he later claimed. Shards of glass were everywhere. Large sharp pieces blocked the door, trapping the employee and guests inside. She was able to throw the keys out through a hole. I caught them so I could go and fetch a broom from another entrance. Opticians from Viu next door also rushed to help those trapped inside. Finally, the door could be opened again. There was no blood to be seen. The employee said: Just another day at the coffee. I'd be happy to come back.

We booked a 4-night stay at Oldtown Hostel Otter from June 21 to 25, 2025, through Booking.com. However, upon check-in, we were extremely disappointed to find that the room provided was significantly different from what was shown in the listing at the time of booking. There was neither an air conditioner nor enough fans in the room. The room lacked proper ventilation, which made it very uncomfortable, especially due to the hot weather. It was quite suffocating and clearly not suitable to accommodate 6 people, as advertised. Additionally, the washroom door was placed right next to my bed, causing discomfort as every guest had to pass by frequently to use it. Most importantly, the room lacked basic cleanliness and had a noticeable odor, making our stay unpleasant. I approached the reception immediately and requested a room change or an upgrade, but my request was denied without any consideration. With no other accommodation options available at the time, I was left with no choice but to cancel the booking based on their suggestion. I was also told I would need to contact Booking.com for a refund. I understand the booking was under a no-cancellation policy, but I believe comfort, hygiene, and honesty in listing should be a minimum standard, regardless of cost. If a room does not meet the basic expectations of cleanliness or is inaccurately represented, guests should be offered an alternative or at least partial compensation.

I stayed at this hostel for three nights in October in a six-person mixed dorm, and overall, I had a great experience. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Zurich’s Old Town and only a 16-minute walk from the main train station. Personally, the hostel itself was clean and cozy. The beds were comfortable and came with warm bedding, and I really appreciated the privacy curtains on each bunk. Each guest also gets a lockable cubby with a key, which is great if you don’t have your own lock. I arrived in Zurich a bit before check-in time, and it was a nice bonus to be able to store my luggage for FREE(something not every hostel offers). The showers were clean and while the kitchen doesn’t have pots and pans, it does have appliances and a fridge where you can label and store your food. They also provide a very handy guidebook filled with recommendations for food spots, day trips, transit passes, free bike rentals, and local tours. What really stood out to me, though, was the staff. They were warm, friendly, and always happy to help. Shoutout to Thomas and Visalia for making my stay even better. I’d absolutely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Zurich. It’s got a great vibe, a prime location, and all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay.

There is certainly no shortage of hotels or places to stay in Zurich. It is a bery popular destination to visit. The location was pretty perfect! Central to nearly everything. It was walkable to Old Town, the lake, and many of the main visiting sites. Check-in was easy, and it was very nice that they had daily breakfast (cereal / bread / jam / tea / coffee) for us in the mornings. The lockers were large and gave plenty of space for your belongings with good security. Rooms did tend to get a bit hot in the summer, but the fans in the room helped a bit. Highly recommend for a good value stay in the city.
Constantine J — Google review
Pros: • The staff was friendly and cool. Cons: • There was no soap in the dispensers. • There’s no sink inside the toilet area, so you have to go to another section to wash your hands, which is really inconvenient. • When you check in, your bed isn’t made — you have to put on the sheets, duvet cover, and pillowcase yourself, and you’re expected to return them to the laundry area when you leave. • My bed was right next to the toilet, and there was even a sink inside the room. • There’s no proper ventilation system in the rooms. We stayed in a 6-bed room with terrible odor and couldn’t open the window because it was too cold.

Loved this characterful hostel in a great location with a cool homey bar on the street level. Tomas at reception went out of his way to be helpful with a few complications I had. Loved the views from the upstairs room. Friendly chats in the kitchen too with fellow backpackers from France and Asia.

I have visited a lot of hostels in European Union but never the staff was so great like in your hostel. Thank you for giving us the possibility to enjoy your beautiful city and rest in your hostel at night. You are the best.

Nestled in the heart of Zurich, Gamper Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem that showcases modern Swiss cuisine through a unique multi-course experience. With an emphasis on purism and simplicity, this venue prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients to create authentic seasonal dishes. The restaurant operates with a no-frills approach, offering a single daily menu that highlights the individual flavors of each ingredient. What sets Gamper apart is its relaxed atmosphere; it's perfect for those looking to enjoy quality food without any fuss.
Excellent in all key areas: good food pairings, good value, satisfying, 4 course surprise menu, that changes daily. Amazing fresh local produce, top wine selection. Service is friendly, professional and knowledgeable about every ingredient and how the chefs prepared them in the dishes. Eaten here at least 3 times now before leaving my first review as I wanted to believe they really could maintain their amazing standard; they do.

lovely small restaurant in a quiet neighbourhood, easy style interior. The food was delicious for a good price. Great wine menu, with charming serving Staff
Robert G — Google review
Loved the high end dining experience with low key vibe - unpretentious and delicious. Surprise set menu for 115chf. Waitress had great wine knowledge. Definitely would return.
Nina F — Google review
Small restaurant, a bit noisy when full but otherwise a place I can really recommend if you are happy with a seasonal 4 course menu, the only option offered. Very reasonable price, interesting wine list and above all, very friendly service staff. Reserve as early as you can!
Hans M — Google review
This was a great 4 course surprise meal dining experience paired with wine. The staff was exceptional, and each dish exceeded expectations. Very pleased with this dining experience.
Todd H — Google review
They could or should have a Michelin star. There is so much effort put in every plate. Come here if you have the time, they only have one surprise menu that changes all the time. The wine list could be a bit more extensive.
David D — Google review
Friendly. I like the surprise menu concept. Creative but the portions can be bigger. I was still hungry afterwards.

Best pretzels in Switzerland. Crispy, light, and delicious. You cannot eat just one. The other baked goods are wonderful too.

Bizarre opening hours, cash only, something of a local institution. If you're a great fan of brezels probably worth putting up with the strange schedule.
Alexandra G — Google review
The bakery is open normal hours Tuesday- Friday as of March 18, 2020 and as delicious as ever. I asked: the baker starts working at 2-3 am so we can have all these wonderful breads, rolls and croissants at 8 AM

Holy Cow! Gourmet Burger Co. is a contemporary eatery that brings a fresh twist to the fast-food scene in Zurich, originating from Lausanne. This burger haven prides itself on sourcing ethical ingredients, aiming to feature at least one product from each Swiss canton. Their imaginative menu showcases 23 unique burgers, including classic beef options and innovative creations like toasted goat cheese with honey-glazed chorizo and hot chili.
A vegetarian heaven! We loved the burgers here, we had the bean patty burger and it was out of this world. Their portion size is superb, the taste and qualitu of food mind blowing. Had plenty of seating on two floors. I wish we had this brand in Canada :)
Nitika — Google review
They have a large variety of vegetarian burgers which is great. However, I felt that the patty was not warm enough. I had the Aztec burger which was alright except I wish it was served a bit warmer. The fries were delicious.
Amy P — Google review
We had such a great experience at Holy Cow on Löwenstrasse! The food was really tasty, we tried the Bacon Avocado Beef (extra Beef) and Bacon Avocado Chicken, both were fresh, juicy and full of flavour. But honestly, what made the visit truly special was Billy. He was absolutely wonderful, super friendly and welcoming, and really made us feel like valued guests. Even if it had been his own restaurant, we wouldn’t have expected such a warm welcome and amazing service. You can tell he genuinely cares about people and brings so much positive energy to his work. We paid around 50 CHF for two meals and drinks, totally worth it for the quality and service. Thank you Billy for making our dinner so enjoyable, we’ll definitely come back!
Betim Z — Google review
One of the famous burger chain in Switzerland. Usually they will branches near train or tram stations. Burger taste better than the larger chain stores. The patty and variety of the choices are good. I personally prefer the classic beef cheese burger than other fancy choices. Holy Cola is their home brand which is less carbonated.
Jackie C — Google review
Juicy burger with a big patty and bun. The fries were crispy. The iced tea was one of the best I have ever had. Food was delivered to the table with a smile. Loved it!
Toms A — Google review
Went there during working day lunch time. The burger was served within 5min - super fast, but that reflected on the quality, the patty seemed just heated up and not freshly cooked. For the price it costs they should do better. Also the cashier lady, picked up a fallen (on the floor) sauce container and put it back with the rest of the 'clean' ones. Highly unlikely returning .
Ilvija S — Google review
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Holy Cow, but I had the avocado bacon burger and it was a delight. The sweet potato fries also complimented it perfectly. I spent 25 CHF on this option and waited around 10 minutes for my burger to be served.

Tschingg is a pasta restaurant located in the heart of Zurich's Old Town, near Bellevue square. The atmosphere is unique and comfortable, making it a great place to dine or work. The restaurant offers delicious, fresh homemade pasta and authentic Italian flavors. Customers can enjoy generous portions of pasta cooked right in front of them with flavorful sauces. Despite its casual dining setting, the service staff provides attentive and friendly service that rivals high-end restaurants.
I was buying some wine upstairs and the chef spoke about this amazing restaurant around the corner. I ate a small pizza and drunk a glas of Etna bianco. Relaxing and easy going atmosphere, to spend fews minutes without any stress.Thank you
Max S — Google review
Generous portions. Tasty and freshly cooked pasta. There were only 2 staff working but they were tireless and kept apologising for the wait. (Which really isn't the fault of the staff)
Bee — Google review
Pasta was cooked perfect al dente, but sauce to pasta ratio was underwhelming. Not sure if I'm used to more saucier pasta dishes in Italy or back home, but this one was so dry, that I even considered just buying a can of tomato sauce at the market to add to my order. Service was great and restaurant was nice and clean though.
Tam N — Google review
Nice, fast pasta place. Food is great, have a small variety of pizza.great for your lunch break. They have a nice 10 fr offer for students. It contains pasta pomodoro and an ice tea. Prices are a bit high, average around15-20 fr. Take away and restaurant. Wait 30 seconds for your food it is cooked very well and right before you.really nice place at the edge of the Altstadt.
Miro F — Google review
Seems like a popular place with young adults. It's so crowded even spilling outside eating pasta..I would recommend their pasta, pizza just normal
Freddy S — Google review
The food and service are good, but the music at 13:00 on a weekday is unacceptable. Please, you are not a club. People come to you, stressed, on their lunch break (from work), and we need peace and quiet to have some food and maybe send some emails. There is no way to do any that when you are blasting techno style music at 13:00 on a weekday. Please consider lowering your music during working hours, especially during lunchtime when people need some peace.
Magda S — Google review
The atmosphere is interesting and unique, very comfortable place to work as well. Pasta was tasty, fresh and they make it in front of you which I like. There is no service in this restaurant but I suppose that adds to the charm as you get your food directly from the kitchen yourself.
Zachary S — Google review
If you want good home made pasta and authentic flavours do visit Tschingg and try their Tschingg pasta on the menu! Though it is a casual dining place, the smiles and attentiveness by service staff is definitely a high end restaurant standard.

Wurst & Moritz is a casual and modern eatery in Zurich, known for its affordable and inventive sausage dishes. The restaurant offers a variety of sausages with flavorful sauces, served with tasty fries or bread. It's a popular spot for quick and satisfying meals, perfect for dining with friends. While the service can be busy at times, the delicious food and selection of beers make it a worthwhile visit.
Tasty food at a reasonable price (great student discount), lots of vegan and vegetarian options, and a very friendly manager. Great experience, will definitely come back.

Simple menu, tasty options. This restaurant specializes in Wurst. The classic is a must try. The “scharf” option is quite spicy 🌶️ Giving 4 ⭐️ because the fries are frozen instead of being freshly cut.
TM — Google review
Quick stop and a fairly inexpensive small meal. It’s about the price of any cheap meal and includes the wurst, fries and a drink. Would like a drink free option. The curry wurst was good. The sauce was a mix of their sauces. It was nice in a rainy day. The staff was super helpful.
Daniel H — Google review
My first time in Switzerland, and j was staying close to this place. We were keen to try the curried wurst and boy it did not disappoint. 👌🏼

So here's to the backstory. My sibling's name is Moritz. I had a beer in his name, the vegan Zwiebel Heidi (not the person). The pommes portion is very generous. Curry Heidi (still not the person) is very spicy and nice. Very recommended if you crave for a different type of "fast" food than just the plain old burger.
Envy — Google review
Lovely little spot in the industrie quarter, quick and kind service and delicious currywurst. We got two vegan options and they were great.

Very good curry wurst! You have the option to add extra curry powder and chili which is awesome! I got it simple with their speciality bread which is damn good! Chilled out place which is not too busy. Prices fair
