Located beside the main air itam market street. Came here for breakfast. Didn’t see the both sister here, but only a young lady preparing the curry mee. The curry mee more towards sweet side. Cost rm8 per bowl. Able to seat anywhere opposite cafe.

Air Itam Sister Curry Mee is a true Penang classic, now run by the 3rd generation. The stall is very simple, but the taste is easily one of the best curry mee I’ve had. The broth is light and fragrant, and while the toppings are kept basic - just tauhu, taugeh, and their signature sambal , it’s packed with flavor. Each bowl costs only RM6.50, which is very cheap for such an iconic dish. Service was fast too, as I got mine within 5 minutes. You can also order and dine in at the coffee shop right opposite the stall for a more comfortable experience. They usually sell out by 11am, so it’s best to go early. I had mine on a rainy day, and that hot, flavorful bowl was just chef’s kiss , pure comfort food. A humble, authentic dish that you shouldn’t miss when in Penang.

Hmm. I wasn't really impressed. And it's not due to the dining environment. I don't judge the surrounding as this is a roadside stall. It's very local actually and gives you the real penang roadside experience rather than the sterile generic look that new cafes exude. As for the curry, it comes white with separate chili for you to add as per your personal choice. I just warn you, it's spicy. Be careful how much you add. I found it a little watery though. And most importantly even though I added quite a lot of spice, the balance was off. The spicy was excessive when compared to the other flavour that was supposed to balance it out. Fortunately the noodle was deliciously chewy. There's the usual expected blood jelly, taugeh and tau pok. The sotong was more than usual. But strangely there were no cockles and long beans which i thought was standard in curry mee. Parking here is a big issue and I gotta say, each diner has got to make the decision on whether it's worth it to fight for a parking space to come here to eat.

The curry paste is very special and tasty, the essence of the soup ! The tiny stall located at a small lane . It’s on the left hand side of the small lane , next to the chicken rice stall. Hard to get parking here.

If you like clear soup very mild taste of curry mee soup base and if you don’t take clam, this is for you, you may try out. Michelin 2024. But actually I feel quite disappointed. Not as expected. But maybe this is very good for them who grown up with this :)

Their curry mee was great. The soup broth was flavourful and spicy. Personally I prefer it to be more coconut but that is just my preference. The toppings are nothing to brag about and decent. You do not sit at where they sell the noodle, you are to sit opposite the shop itself. Price was reasonable for what it is. You should try this famous store.

2 Sisters Curry Mee Located in the midst of a morning pasar malam market. 2 Sisters Curry mee stall is a simple setup with no frills. The dish itself is also a simple one with pork blood, few pcs of Cuttlefish and taupok. We ordered the mix beehoon/mee. Heard a lot about it but I was rather disappointed. The chilli offered had a raw taste and super spicy, which we didn't know. In any case, the Curry mee didn't quite measure up. The taste didn't quite come out for some reason. Maybe it's just my own taste expectations. But many stalls of the same thg we have tried was about the same or better. That said, they still have a steady stream of locals coming up to order non-stop. Their flavour may be adapted to the locals. If you are around the Ayer Itam area,  no harm coming to give it a shot.  The buzz is this vicinity itself is quite a sight.  Do take note that on a weekend morning,  parking can be rather stressful, that is if you are driving

Been famous for it's duck rice, which it's duck meat is cooked well and render, just a little salty. Doesn't like the arrogant attitude of the 2nd generation owner which reluctantly answered all my questions asked. The surroundings would also need some cleanup and better hygiene for dining as Michelin Gourmet Bib winner.

You are most likely familiar with roasted duck rice. This is NOT roasted duck. This is braised duck. If you are imagining crispy skin, oily juicy meat, then you are in the wrong place. Eating braised duck is a whole different taste experience and unless you have eaten braised duck before, you will need to reset your taste and flavour expectation. You can order only duck or add on pork, egg and pig intestine to increase your dining experience. In my case I only chose the duck and egg as it was my first time and I wanted to taste their signature dish. I was partially disappointed with the cool rice. But I must say that the meat is unique. It's tender but doesn't have the juicy oily taste that you associate with roasted duck. However, it's chewy, soft and has the unmistakable soy and herb / spice used to braise it. When eaten with the fried garlic and cilantro, drizzled sambal, I think it's a delicious flavour combination that will surprise you. I may be wrong but some reviewers are disappointed because they are comparing it with roasted duck. Braised meat flavour is a whole different ballgame. I suggest you try and not be discouraged by some of the reviews. As for the dining environment, well, it's coffee shop and hawker stalls so I think you know what kind of environment you will be eating at. Haha.

After wandering around Kek Lok Si Temple and the nearby pagoda, we treated ourselves to the famous Air Itam Duck Rice - and it did not disappoint! 😋 Featured in the Michelin Guide, this humble street-side spot is known for its tender braised duck, flavorful soy-based gravy, and perfectly paired rice. I’m so glad we made the stop - it's the kind of comforting local dish that hits the spot after a long day of exploring. A true Penang gem! 🌟🇲🇾

Found this famous and nice duck rice while resting in the food court. Need to queue a little bit as the stall was just opened. Duck rice yummy 😋 and chilli was spicy too.

One of the best braised duck meat 🍖 in town. It's located opposite the air itam market. You won't be able to miss it as this food market is at the junction of the road. Long queue (depends on what time), the service is quite fast. You just have to say how many people are eating... which dish you would like. It's RM11 per person for the duck meat with rice. I added the preserved vegetables (mui Choi): RM5. Really worth trying..

Simple hawker selling duck rice. Everything is straightforward, the price stated clearly and the service was all fast. Environment was not very comfortable to eat, but overall it was a decent experience. Might go again for take aways. Btw, price as per Apr 2023 has now increased to RM7.50 per plate. We got a platter for 2 person and added eggs, total about RM24.

Nice duck in savory sauce, chopped with all the bones removed, served on rice with soy-sauce egg and garlic crunchies. Pork, Cilantro optional. $8myr.

This is the famous laksa. The one that everyone will tell you to try. Since they are open only on the weekends, you will need to plan your trip accordingly if you want to try this laksa. Compared to other laksas, you will find that this laksa is a bit thicker, fish pieces are a bit more generous, the taste is a lot heavier. If you like your laksa to have a light flavour profile, this is probably not for you. I, however enjoyed the heavy mix of salt, sour and fish flavours. Nostalgically, pre mco, the taste was even heavier and the fish was also more generous. Naturally your will also need hei ko (sweet thick dark pungent) sauce in it. This will add another layer of taste complexity to the soup. You should be able to ask for more if the amount they give you in the beginning is not enough. As usual laksa will have some greens and most importantly ginger flower. I thought there used to be more previously but I guess shrinkflation is normal nowadays. I personally find the flavour combination of everything they add into the bowl syncs well and you end up with a bowl of delicious laksa. It's definitely one of the best you can get in penang. The only downside is the difficult parking and the slightly uncomfortable hot humid sidewalk atmosphere you eat in but that's part of the charm I would suppose.

The Asam Laksa is among the exceptional ones in Penang. Service is better than I thought as they are positively welcoming your order in nice way. Much better than the older days when they are just rude. Though 2 stars for atmosphere, nothing to compliant about as it is real street food.

The original famous laksa place is closed. We went to the 2828 place instead. Had the Penang Laska, chendol and spring roll. The laksa is done well, the broth is rich and tasty. We enjoyed the chendol and spring roll too. There air con in the shop, a big relief during this hot weather

Not a fan of laksa but this one is outstanding. Well balanced flavor. Mad respect to the artists Ps. While waiting, try out lok2, shrimp kue and sugarcane nearby. Thank me later

Purposely come and so so disappointed with the laksa. First look ok but actually no taste at all, soup very diluted. Both of us cannot even get ourselves to finish the bowl. I can say worst laksa that I’ve eaten so far. Definitely won’t come back. The opposite food court laksa is much much better.

Still among the best Assam Laksa around. We came back here after trying a Michelin rated one and this one is still much better. Maybe those french tyre fellas were taken in by the deco and friendly staff at the other place.

The food was good of course each place would have their own specialty unique taste. For this place what i appreciate is their warm hot food. It is prepared not from the morning. Their curry paste specially fish head is yummy and their fried chicken was juicy i had their wings and breast part and still it was juicy not dry so that was pleasent.

This restaurant is the best for me for Nasi Kandar in Penang , all the spices and main dish was really suit me . Not over powered spices and the gravy taste was really just right . I really enjoyed it but only to find parking is quite hard . I went on weekdays and was not school holidays also which the queue also not so long as the staff said majority their customers were local people . The price also affordable and reasonable .

This place is quite popular with locals, but the taste wasn’t quite to my preference. The curry gravy reminded me more of Malay curry rather than the usual nasi kandar style I’m used to. The environment also felt a bit uncomfortable and could be cleaner. But still worth to try.

The food at Nasi Kandar Kampung Melayu is really good, tasty and worth the price! However, the cleanliness could be improved a little, as the restaurant is located below a flat area. Still, the food quality makes it worth coming back for. A true local gem for nasi kandar lovers! 🍛✨

Taste good cheap and authentic nasi kandar. Peak hour gonna be long queue the surrounding and hygiene can be improved. You need to park nearby and walk thereZ overall it is worth to try.

What a gem for my first authentic Malay dining experience. The flavors hit deep, the energy was welcoming, and it was hard not to clean the plate. Highly recommend if you want the real local taste.

Legend. I went during Ramadan so was unable to eat inside, Carried my treasure home and enjoyed it on my hotel desk! The telur sotong (squid eggs) were sublime. Wonderfull walk through back neighborhood ways from Air Itam central to the shop. An amazing experience - 100%!

I had high hopes for this cafe, but unfortunately, my experience left a lot to be desired. First off, the service was incredibly slow. I waited over 20 minutes for a coffee. The staff didn’t seem very engaged, and it was clear they weren’t prioritizing customers. The coffee, which I was expecting to be the highlight, was lukewarm and bland. For a place that prides itself on its brews, this was a major letdown. The ambiance was also disappointing. The seating was uncomfortable, and the overall vibe didn’t feel very welcoming. It was crowded and noisy, which made it hard to relax and enjoy my drink. To top it off, the prices felt way too high for what I received. There are plenty of other cafes nearby that offer much better value. Sadly, I won’t be returning. I hope they take some time to address these issues. If I can give zero star, I would. p/s; Don’t order for the big breakfast. It’s probably the worst bb I’ve ever had in my whole entire life. No explanation needed!

Went here with high expectations but left feeling thoroughly disappointed. On entering the staff were all busy but eventually got shown by a blunt young man to a table in the ‘dining area’, not the busier ‘cake and coffee area’. The room wasn’t particularly atmospheric with only 1 other table occupied. Went for the Signature Bon Ton 3 Course Laksa set. After a long wait-about 25 minutes the food arrived …altogether! I wasn’t expecting everything at once. The top hats were fine albeit the chilli sauce was mild and no ‘kick’. The Malaca Nyonya Laksa was drab and lacked taste and more importantly was lukewarm. The black rice pudding was again lacklustre. I finished the meal and didn’t bother waiting for the bill. Again, staff nonchalantly disinterested, took payment at checkout.I was expecting them to ask some feedback about the meal but nothing. I just left bewildered! It seems their better reviews are for cake and coffee. Maybe I should have studied them more carefully!

I went to this café on 15 Nov 2025. The desserts were good, but the cashier really turned me off from eating. He seemed to have the flu that day and wasn’t even wearing a face mask. What concerned me most was that he handed the receipt to customers right after wiping his nose, without washing his hands. Proper hygiene is extremely important, not just for customer but also for protecting other staff. I hope the café can reinforce basic hygiene practices

Cafe was dimly lit to the extent that it was not comfortable to the eyesight. Also had a hard time reading the menu. Coffee was not bad, but small servings. The cakes no doubt using premium ingredients but were too sweet. Price was quite steep, if not one of the most expensive around Penang. RM17++ for a cup of small hot latte. Go figure.

Very very tasty cheesecake and tiramisu in town. This place is the must try for cake lover. The cheesecake was very flavorful of cheese and salted caramel and the cake not too dense or too soft. Tiramisu was good with fluffy cake and caramelized peanut. I can eat this cake all day if i can. This place will be a reason to comeback to penang again.

I always make it a point to visit China House when in Penang. Their cakes are amazing (this time we had the lemon curd but thr Tiramisu, Salted Caramel and Red Velvet are all good). Nice vibe.

Chinahouse cakes always on point. Awesome selections and great flavours. Always a challenge how many slices of yummy cakes to get. Do consider takeaway packaging with dry ice for whole cakes especially tiramisu.

This is a corner coffee shop with few stalls selling the usual suspects. It was jam packed when I arrived for breakfast but was able to get a table after a short wait. The tables are quite closely bunched up together. The din, heat, smell and humidity are what you expect at a coffee shop. I tried quite a few stalls. The hokkien mee soup was relatively light but the good news is that it comes steaming hot. As for the wan tan mee, delicious dark salty sauce. I just can't enjoy the chicken pieces. Somehow I can only enjoy wtm with pork pieces. Chicken just makes it taste weird. To me, at least. Lobak meanwhile was surprisingly yummy. Unexpectedly so. Ordering it can be done in sets, which for some, saves you the effort of choosing. I usually prefer to choose mine individually but for this episode, I ordered the set. Not a bad mix. Char koay teow however didn't really have the wok sei I crave but at least it doesn't swim in oil. Taste is decent but nothing you would travel for. In short, it's a nice place to have a classical coffee shop experience with generally good food but not something you would make a trip for.

Home to one of the most famous Lor Bak stalls in Penang, they also have decent Wantan Mee, Hokkien Mee, Char Kway Teow and Mixed Rice stalls here. The coffee is decent but not great. Try the Hokkien Mee with the prawn gravy mixed with the Loh Mee gravy. You’ll get a thicker gravy with will adhere to your noodles. Char Kway Teow comes with 2 large prawns, cockles and larp cheong (Chinese sausage).

So... The char keua teuw is certainly the highlight. Tasty. Umami is there.. However.. For 9 rm portion too small la. Packed with right amount of prawns, kerang and Chinese sausage. If you can increase size that be great. Flavour is top seller compared to Siam. Lo bak.. Average. So little for medium and pay so much.. We couldnt even choose what we want. That i wouldn't recommend.

Ate here for the old school vibe with their booth stall seats. Nice Penang char kway tiao and fried lor bak - both recommended. Wanton mee was barely passable - not recommended. Barley drinks were good too.

Just a normal kopitiam. But it is like a family kopitiam for us as each one of us has a favourite dish there. My hubby likes the won ton mee, me and my son loves the fried mee. My younger son likes the nasi lemak and finally, ALL of us loves the lor bak choices and fried prawn fritters. Definitely a place to try out.

Old school coffee shop. Char koay teow with “wok hey” and fresh ingredients. Parking is an issue but there is a pay parking diagonally opposite the shop.

Great place for the variety of hawker fare: yong tau foo, char keow teow , wan chen keuh, popiah, roti babi, ampala sumboi drink, lots more and halal Malay food too. Place that brings nostalgia to us who frequented as a kid.

Becoming our frequent go-to place recently. Bismi Soup, Zulaika Pasembor, and beverages from Dawood Cafe are our current must-have. Unfortunately, some stalls still require cash payment instead of cashless. Parking might be a bit difficult for those who drives. Late afternoon is quiet and comfortable as most tables are still empty. It gets hot and stuffy when fully occupied in weekends.

Been there only for this celur2. The black sauce is very delicious. It has variety of lids you can choose which is orange rm3, green rm4 and red rm5. Nice to try and i enjoy the food. Just for a drink its a pricey and im spoiled with the taste

Only came for dinner for the seafood nasi/maggie. The foods good. Clearly can improve in some areas but for what it’s worth, its dope Penang food and vibe.

The Nyonya laksa, chwee kueh took me back to my childhood and Yong tau fu is authentic.

It is not very crowded, which is perfectly fine, especially during lunch hour. Get to enjoy the famous Aunty Mary's roti babi (Not Halal). Price is a little bit high. Overall, tons of good foods to enjoy

Classic coffee shop. The services is good and the hokkien mee as well as char kue teow is delicious. Old but clean

Ordered chow kuey teow and lobak. Try one lobak + one fried pork (seller said it's his best seller), it taste good, the deep fried pork still juicy and crunchy, lobak is not overly season, maybe only 1 complaint is the lobak sauce is super sticky..... Chow kuay Teow is one of the best chow kuay Teow I have in this trip, comes with 2 huge prawn, and few small 虾蛄, hence the price of 11 (I forgot) but definitelyl more than 10, yet the taste is great, especially I ordered it together with duck egg. It's a place I will come again as mainly local patrons to the shop

Ordered the Fried rice, they used the method and ingredients of frying Char Koay Teow. Saw a review in Facebook and decided to try out. RM 10 only got lapcheong, egg, 1 big prawn 2 small prawns, bean sprouts etc. Recommended 👌🏻 very satisfying, next time will try the Char Koay Teow.

Ended up here because the famous 113 duck meat kuey teow soup next door was full. The CKT here was delicious and not oily. Came with 2 big fresh prawns. It's a small serving and just perfect for breakfast. Didn't really like the kopi ping, too sweet and watered down.

I came to try again thinking it was still Tiger CKT but found out later that they have moved plus it was raining heavily so what the heck. My verdict, if you like strong flavours with rich aroma from the wok hei, you can try this. You can taste that it has a distinctive savoury flavour from the unique blend of sauces. It comes with usual prawns, cockles and mantis prawn. My recommendation is to go for the duck egg and if you can take chili, go for spicy. Overall it's good plate of CKT. Food for thought, I noticed the lady frying looked familiar. She looked like the same person when it was still the Tiger CKT stall plus the uniform is the same orange.

Opens from 6:30am, Kafe Ping Hooi offers a variety of hawker food such as Char Kway Teow, Lor Bak, Hokkien Mee and Lowe Mee etc. We sampled Lor Bak from Lobak King, Char Kway Teow from popular Tiger Char Kaoy Teow and Hokkien Prawn Mee next to him. Tiger’s CKT stood out from the other two dishes but still not the best I have had, perhaps the best in the area but not in Penang. 😌

In my opinion, their Char Kway Teow is quite decent. While it may not be overly impressive, it truly captures the essence of wok hei. The combination of kway teow with prawns and cockles is perfect and definitely worth a try!

It was like any other food court, crowded and dirty. We tried the Hussain Pasembur and sotong kangkung, but there was nothing special about them. We only spent RM50 for dinner, including two drinks. We were not charged a high price for the pasembur because we did not take any seafood, just prawn fritters and frozen items. For us, it was not expensive. You just need to be mindful when choosing. You pay for what you take, so do not complain. We do not think we will come back, though. It was hard to find parking.

The moment you find your seat,you will be harassed by 2-3 indian males asking for order dressed in stained dirty clothing. You will little liberty to go around and order on your own. Foods taste below average. Place is dirty. Difficult parking. Not recommended. Ordered mee sotong,but what i got is mee goreng with sotong sambal.

Once you enter this place, * touts* will be asking you * minum, minum* . We queued for Gani Pasembor. And ordered teh tarik kurang manis and teh O limau panas kosong. Surprised that teh O limau panas kosong cost RM4. I asked 3 times if indeed its rm4, he said yes. Teh tarik kurang manis is Rm2. The drink stall is the two stalls from Gani Pasembor, next to the ABC stall. Gani Rojak is so so. Nothing fantabulous , to each their own. Very red. ( Last year, we had the Hussain Pasembor- nothing remarkable as well) We also had 101 rojak buah from the other side of the food court. Its ok. And q was super long. As it was some 6pm plus, its not too hot. Breezy and slightly windy. Slightly dirty and slightly crowded !! Will I come back here to makan- NO. ( disclaimer- ownself try, dont take my words !)

Not much stalls available here, there's Chinese & Malay stalls at 2 different corners. Most of the food here is bad. Only green tomyam & rojak is good. The stir fry seafood is good, but their service is super duper bad. They'll ask u to wait for an hour even when the crowd is low. Their opening time is also uncertain following their mood. This round visit I'm here for the green tomyam but they're closed so ordered food from the malay stalls. The fried rice is tasteless & the portion of the ayam kunyit is ridiculously small. The satay is not well burned, so it's not fragrant enough.

Many hawker stalls are located here, especially the Gani Pasembur stall. The place was very packed when I last went here with limited seatings on a weekend/school holiday afternoon. The car park is also quite an issue here. The hygiene is not satisfactory. And there are a number of beggars and crazy persons (orang tak siuman) here while the customers are eating, which is a very irritating experience. The good thing is that the food court is by the strait, one can enjoy the view after eating. One can also see Gunung Jerai in Kedah from here on a clear, non-hazy day.

Dirty facilities with the presence of birds flying around the eatery area. Please install bird repellent surroundings. The newest upgrade with roof and fan but sadly doesn't include the hygiene and cleanliness aspect taken into consideration. Such a shame for the tourist area.

Great hawker centre, very popular with locals. Asam laksa was great and or chien was super fresh. Apam balik was yummy and crispy, generous fillings. Parking easily available near by. Would recommend!

Very nice hawker food here. The price is reasonable. Parking space is very difficult to find. The atmosphere and environment are not as good as a typical restaurant.

Local hawker Centre that’s very reasonably priced and delicious, the char kuay teow and curry mee are not heavily promoted but is such a hidden gem. Char kuay teow comes with the right amount of char without the overuse of soy sauce, the kuay teow still glistening in the wok hei. Curry mee is packed with ingredients including sotong and roast pork, and the broth has depth that is full of umami (but not msg!)

At Jalan Air Itam (17mins walk from Penang hill- we manage to walk from Penang hill car park to the place) local street food. Wantan Mee, Fried oyster, Popiah, Asam laksa, Prawn Mee.. I've ordered 2 Wanton Mee (Rm6.50 each) Fried carrot cake-black sauce (Rm5.50, large) Roast duck & Char Siew(pork) Rm10.80 .. The wanton Mee is in black sauce, the black sauce didnt over power the mee, nice! met my expectation:) There is 1-2 stalls selling some pastry & bread. Must try pan cake (crispy) - freshly made on the spot, bought the peanut/brown sugar, nice! something sweet after a meal. All self-service, tables are near to stalls- free seating..

I grew up around this area, and it’s always been my go-to spot whenever I’m craving hawker food.

One of the best hawker centers in Penang Island. Food is superb and price is much reasonable compared to Georgetown. The place is rugged and crowded in the evening. Workers are all very friendly and food is served quick. The char koey teow here is probably one of the best i had tried in Penang, the char koey kak here is also very good. The fish noodles here is superb, lor mee is also really good. They also serve almost milk drink. 🥳⭐️👍. A true gem. Highly recommended! ⭐️❤️🥳✨⭐️

ordinary hawker center v yummy foods. go for the oyster omelette, taste good. other foods taste average for me, price reasonable. a good place to have dinner. extremely hard to get car park.

Food place worth a visit. Spacious and airy. Clean environment. Is a mid size type food court with reasonable options but the food is delicious! I love the loh mee, tom yam mee. Others are mediocre. I wanna order CKT and curry mee but not opened.

Opened 4 years but still looks new. Open airy and clean place. Salted fish fried rice is nice with fried chicken. Cheap and good food for quick meal. Lots of food varieties to choose. Ample seating and parking area is free which is huge plus in Penang island.

Not a fan of loh mee but this loh mee really captures my tastebuds, right flavour and not too starchy, with right amount of meat for rm7! CKT not opened so we missed it. Fried oyster omelette is also very good, big pieces of oysters, runny egg crispy on the edge, the chili adds to the wonderful flavor. Nasi lemak is average, pasembur rojak is tasty too but price slightly on the high side considered its mainly vegetable. best of all, this place is not touristy!

Variety of foods, really spoilt for choice: Beside Penang streets foods, other offerings are Japanese 🇯🇵 Food, Thai 🇹🇭 Food, Sarawak Kolo Mee, Teo Chew porridge.. 😁 The food court is cleans, looks new (wonder when it was opened). Cutlery 🍴 placed in few designated stainless steel dispenser. The foodcourt is well ventilated, didn't feels stuffy or warm. Parking spaces provided the compound, at ease.

Visited Food Hub by You&Me recently. During this trip, the variety of stalls seemed limited, possibly due to the festive period. Nevertheless, we managed to try the char koay teow, Penang hokkien mee, and koay teow tng. All were tasty and satisfying, though a little on the salty side. The food court has plenty of seating and large fans to keep the place cool and comfortable. Overall, a pleasant spot for casual dining, and I wouldn’t mind visiting again.

Very clean hawker center. The CKT is very good. Curry needs also not bad. There are a lot of different food here. Worth a visit.

First time there. Ordered char koay teow with extra prawns and chili. It was great! Worth the RM 15. For drink, I ordered kopi c peng gao with less sugar and ikat tepi. The coffee was very mild (totally not gao!!!) and no bowl to put the plastic bag in!

The taste is totally different than last few year. It was not tasty at all. My daughter and I were quite disappointed, even before the renovation. The chef's cooking skill is good. After the renovation, we went once and the taste was different. We asked the cashier if the chef or boss had changed. The answer was no; it was still the same chef. But honestly, I won't go again because the taste wasn't nice.

Decided to try this place for dinner. There’s 2 area to sit which is the shop itself or opposite the shop there’s another enclosed with Air-cond 3 tables. We wanted to sit the smaller area and regret after noticing there’s no button or way to call the server if you have any questions on the menu or need any condiments additionally. The server service quality was inconsistent, 2 of them didn’t announce what noodle it is and 1 of them did mention so we can tell her to serve it in front of them. Here’s what we tried tonight : 1. Sesame Oil Drumstick Mee Suah Rm 18.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - It’s decently nice, portion and ingredients given were sufficient however there’s a slight lack of aromatic sesame oil. It’s not a dish that will make us craving for it for sure. 2. Herbal Soup Mee Sua with Chicken Drumstick Rm 18.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Generous herbal ingredients so the soup is delicious. The bowl is pretty shallow about 1 inch depth so it’s easier to eat while retaining the heat from below. 3. Dan Dan Noodle Rm 14.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Normal, a bit bland but still okay. 4. Hot & Spicy Mee Sua Kor Rm 16.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Well seasoned soup, the taste mostly of spicy bean paste. Quite a big portion. 5. Signature Noodle + Shao Kao Chicken Rm 19.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Big portion, crispy chicken not too dry and noodle sauce quite nice. 6. Shredded Cucumber with Sauce Rm 5.90 ⭐️⭐️ - A lot chili oil, didn’t taste much any flavour from the chili paste, lack of flavour besides only spicy from the oil. I had better ones at other places where they have saltiness from soy sauce lightly marinate them. 7. Homemade Herbal Tea Rm 6.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Delicious drink with quite thick herbal used. Overall the food is still okay but nothing stand out as it is averagely I can get the same taste from hawker place except they have more ingredients hence higher price point. There are service charge 5% and SST 6% also.

Definitely a dish I would come back for! 😋🐟🍜 🍜 Dragon Noodle's Signature Mee Sua Koh (招牌面线糊) is absolutely comforting and full of flavor! The texture is smooth and slightly thick, just the way a good bowl of mee sua should be. The broth is rich, savory, and well-seasoned, coating every strand of the mee sua beautifully. The toppings are generous, and each bite feels hearty and satisfying. It’s the kind of dish that warms you up and hits all the right notes—simple, homely, and super tasty. Highly recommended! 😋🥢 🔥 Dragon Noodle’s 腊肠烧饭 Lap Cheong Fried Rice is a simple dish done right! The rice is perfectly wok-fried with that nice smoky “wok hei” aroma, and the lap cheong (Chinese sausage) brings a sweet, savory pop in every bite. Each spoonful is well-balanced, not too oily, and full of flavor. Sometimes the simplest dishes leave the strongest impression—will definitely order again! 🍚🥢😋

Located at all seasons place, it’s one of the many food options available is this oasis of makan place. One of the best things about coming here, is the convenience of parking. I tried the mala bowl with noodles option. Trust me, one bowl is more than enough for 2 pax. You can add the sides like pork, chicken, internal organs. Service is fast and staff is attentive. If you come with a small party, you can try and book the outside section.

If you are a tourist, this would probably be the go-to durian joint, but there is another cheaper place, which you can see in my other review. We had 2 durians, black thorn and red prawn, and the latter was only so-so. These 2 cost us about MYR307. Service is good, as they will come and split durians for you, the staff are polite, only the price is a little higher than the other one we went to.

If you are tourist , they will do “take it or leave it “ since you came long way already so might as well just buy it lah . I got MSW for $144 ( not a big one ) , yes durian taste really good .

Best durian and best durian service Satisfying consistent good durian. If they say that a durian is sweet, then it’s sweet. If they say it’s bitter, then it will has it’s bitter taste. Open a durian and not good quality? They will take back. You can package to carry overseas. Quadruple packaging. First they individually wrap each durian. Then it’s put in a plastic box. Then it’s put on a sealed clear plastic, which is vacuum sealed. Then it’s put inside a silver thick plastic, which is then vacuum sealed again.

Very nice durian. Lao ban knows his durian so well so we can request the type we like. We’ve come back 3 times for a week trip 😄

My 2nd visit (July 2025). Enjoyed the Old Ginger 👍, Black Thorn 👍 and Red Prawn 👍 again. 1st visit (Jun 2024) to this durians stall. Tried Black Thorne 1st. Good creamy texture. More sweet than bitter. Then, we tried Ah Teik's recommendation - Old Ginger. It's as good if not better, especially if you like more bitter durian. The seed is smaller, i.e. more flesh.

A wonderful cafe serving up a nice breakfast, lunch or dinner spread that will satisfy any foodie (yes, even the fussy ones 😋). Located at Farlim Square just a stone's throw from Sunshine Central mall, this joint offers a delectable range of bistro favs, with a number of signature entrees absolutely worth trying!!! Highly recommended (for newbies if it's your first visit): 1. Chef KT's Zesty Chicken, a fine tasting grilled chicken dish for those seeking a lighter touch than a run of the mill chicken chop); 2. Grumpy Sailor Fish n Chips (Oh wow, such a generous punnet of deliciously fried barramundi chunks!!! Even the grumpiest sailor would cheer up and eat with relish 🤩); 3. Just a short distance from Penang Hill, this cafe is such a nice spot to rest after a walk or hike. We stopped by for a quick recharge and was really glad we did, the coffee was great, the owner was friendly, and the staff were very attentive. Quite a lot of food varieties here. Loved their pork satay the most. I dare to say it's the best one in PG. Well burnt & marinated, making it very fragrant. The rest of the food tastes average.

This kopitiam used to have lots of good food till late. I went around 9.30pm and a lot of hawker stalls were closing. The Fried Koay Teow was good but really small portion. The wan than mee was passable but not great.

Not too crowded at 6.30pm. Food was great. Lots of variety here. The curry lemak Laksa was good. Difficult to find. Fried oysters also good. Worth coming all the way to Eat. Parking is a big problem.

I always come here for the fried rice from the char koay teow stall as auntie has a superb skill in making the 荷包蛋.

Not easy to find parking. Actually came for oyster omelette but the stall is not opened. Sad. So only ordered rojak, char kuey tiao and curry mee. Only char kuey tiao still ok. The rest of food so-so only. People overrated this place

It's local market. There are some shop, for meat?, inside available. A little difficult for travelor to get in.

Varieties of shops from fruits to souvenirs, to eateries and cafes. Wide concrete, bricked, or tiled side street walk ways very convenient to walk and jog. Instagrammable streets and shops (inside and out).

This is an old small wet market along Lebuh Campbell. The market building seems ancient and I almost missed seeing it while walking down the street. You can get some seafood and vegetables here. Guess I was here a bit late in the morning and as such, most of the stalls had already closed.

Historical market....brings back good memorises of how people used to buy fresh produce in the past.

This is a. Wonderfully authentic street market. We saw this as part of. Nazlinas cooking class Market tour, it is somewhere we wouldn't have otherwise seen. Go and see the spice man.

Ramen’s broths were too strong-porky and can’t taste other flavours, becomes very fast a mono-flavour bowl of ramen, and filling. Garlic fried rice was okay but can be better if the garlic flavour is stronger. Chawanmushi was quite bland, a little disappointed with it. The fried shrimps were good. Ocha was quite diluted too.

Place gives the vibe of 'mom & pops' shop, with very personal and cozy deco, which is rare nowadays (and which I appreciate). Owner's friendly and service was attentive. We had a tonkotsu ramen and a spicy soup ramen. Though the spicy ramen was just average, the tonkotsu was rich in flavor and I enjoyed it. Would return to try the rest of the menu.

The place was so freaking beautiful with so many real japanese decoration! So much to see and you’ll never get bored! The Ramen was good. You can count on them for a solid ramen. The saba fish set was also bot bad. The miso was slightly bland or watered down, but that could just be my palette ruined by the over salty food of other japanese restaurants hahahahaha. But i think this place would be so wonderful to just have a nice beer and chill with some homies.

Another gem place for Japanese food in the neighborhood…the owner was so friendly…I would recommend Tonkotsu Ramen…the broth was so flavorful and thick…just the egg not runny enough…for seafood ramen taste like non spicy Hokkien Mee

This is one of my most favourite Japanese restaurants in penang. Simple renovation but with luxury food taste. The food tastes very local japan tastes. The price is also very reasonable. Highly recommended restaurant.

Great little cafe which is in the perfect spot to chill out after exploring the temple. The cafe is very cosy inside and has AC to cool down. They serve fantastic coffee and delicious waffles. I had the iced latte and strawberry sundae waffle. They also had a selection of cakes which looked amazing. Would highly recommend popping in if you're in the area

Cafe with instagrammable menu items that are truly delicious. Loved the Wildest Dream which is a concoction of butterfly pea flower with lychee and lime, a really refreshing drink. The curly fries, rainbow cake and affogato were also recommended!

A cute and nice cafe where you can have a hot drink or a refresher after your visit of the temple. The stuff was friendly and the prices are reasonable for Europeans.

I frequent this cafe on a regular basis because it is quite near my house. The cafe has bare bones decor but still quite cosy. I like their waffles with Baskin Robbins ice cream. Needless to say, their coffees are great.

Love that Kochabi Hokkien Mee, when I get there is quite late, so alot of stall already start to clean up, so I only able to try the Hokkien Mee, next time would try the other stalls.

Tomyam and Nasi Kandar is nice. Dai Lok Mee and Fish Bee Hoon Soup is not bad. Air circulation not that good, so there's quite hot if you wasn't sit wherever the fan can reach.

One of the best Thai Tom Yam noodle in town.Look at the colour and you know how rich is their tom yam broth. Spicy, sour, with faint hint of sweetness. You'll get fresh seafoods, mushroom, and your choice of noodles, garnished with parsley, in one bowl. Prawn and cuttlefish were so plump, firm, and chewy. Fish was served in fillets. Tender but still holds the shape. Perfect texture A SWEATening meal for a chill evening. Best to eat with springy noodles.

Giving it 4 stars as I've only tried the Tomyam there (which is the main attraction). Waiting times used to be about 40mins before you can get your food. Two thumbs up for it, thick, aromatic and spicy soup. Quite a huge crowd even during RMCO period. Definitely highly recommended, especially on a rainy day 👍

Superb hawker food served here. We had the Tom Yam, BBQ Mini Stingray (Pek Kia) and Squid, Fried Fish Meat Noodle, Ai Yee Ping, Lemon Grass Juice and Almond drinks. The notable food and drinks are Lemon Grass Juice, Fried Fish Noodles, Chicken Satay, Tom Yum Noodle, BBQ Mini Stingray and Squid. Most food here are reasonably priced except the Tom Yum which is slightly on the high side.

If you’re a fan of Loh Mee, you haven’t tried it all until you’ve had Million Loh Mee. I’ve tried a few places, but this is my go-to spot. A small bowl for RM6.50 is filling enough. They’re also known for their delicious chicken feet. Interestingly, they have a side hustle selling random items and food products too!

We reached this non-airconditional restaurant on the weekend at about 10:30am. 30% of the tables were occupied. Table service for ordering and serving within 10 minutes upon ordering. The ambience was not hot, comfortable, and not noisy. Loh mee braised noodle was slightly above average. RM6.50 per serving. Braised sauce was delicious. There was a layer of sauce covering the top that was good. Other than that, the remaining was too watery. Ingredients were generous, such as pork slices, pork skin, egg, and chicken feet. 3 stars Prawn noodles were poorly made. RM6.50 per serving. There was a twist in the broth, but the lemon taste was too strong to our liking. Moreover, the broth was too watery. All ingredients were sufficient. I added RM5 of roast pork, but it was not good enough to overcome the weakness of the broth. 1 star

One of the better loh mee in town. Try their hokkien loh mee! They have a variety of side dish you can order to pair with your noodles. A quick fix worth stopping while you are in the area.

They provide a variety of Loh Mee, from the original version to various add-on. Located at the busy spot in Farlim. It is easy to spot the restaurant with big signage " Loh Mee". The taste is fine, average quality. The price is also affordable. But parking is a real headache in this busy area especially during lunch hour.

My must eat lor mee place each time I am back in Penang. What I like here is you can request additional ingredients of our liking and with or without chicken feet. There a variety of side dishes besides lor mee. Payment can be in cash or e-wallet. Parking is by luck but one will get one whether it's near or slightly further.

Chang Thai Restaurant is authentic Thai food, The environment is quite spacious and the space is large ,sit quite comfortably. There are a lot of selectivity in Menu, almost all the Thai delicacies commonly seen here and thai drinks and desserts are also available in list . The Menus includes traditional Dongyan soup, steamed citrus, Thai spicy stir-fried clams, casserole winter powder braised shrimp, golden cream chicken, green curry (chicken/pig), citronella water, Thai green tea, Thai black tea, longan lemon fairy grass, etc. Overall : Good service with friendly staff and tasty Thai food plus clean environment are the attractions for us to enjoy our meals here. Why there is so less people in this ship? This shouldnt be! Food 4* Environment 4* Price 4* Cleanness 4* Services 5* Overall Rating 4*, Taste so good that so less Thai restoran can match. The only shortage from my order is the normal TomYam, i still prefer spicy coz it's tomyam... but the Sambai is very spicy so.. i add some into tomyam and it taste very good!

The tomyam chicken rice very nice! Pedas dan sedap. Their omelette rice pun sedap. One set include drinks and soup with the main course only RM11.00 ++ I recommend 😁

Good food, book before walk in to avoid no table

A total disappointment with this restaurant, I won't be going back to them, ever. Look at the picture I uploaded, can you imagine this is the portion for two? And yet I have not started eating, this is as when it was served. The waitress introduce this is one of the recommended dish. LOL. Really can't feel their passion in serving good Thai food.

Very good service, tasty green curry fried rice and milk tea.

If you decide to come here, then expect the heat and humidity of a tropical country. Don't expect a comfortable cool environment to enjoy your food. But this is the hawker food of penang you are looking for right? There's only a line of ceiling fans to cool the place and it's inadequate. But something is better than nothing. The place is also not very well lit so it's a little dark. Fortunately even with all the doom and gloom it's saved by the food that you can get. The curry mee is deliciously milky and full of taste of lemak. Simply superb. I also like the laksa. Unlike others that serve watery soup, I like that this stall has soup that actually has some body in it. The char koay teow is light in taste though. Some may find it bland. It's saving grace is that it's not drowning in oil. The coffee is thick and delicious.

3 stars because of the curry mee, noodle soup and char kuay teow. The rest is a miss for me, especially the penang laksa. The broth was way too watery and doesnt even pack a punch. Chendol and ice kachang from the lady store was meh and she kept pestering us to buy right from the start even though we said later after our meal. She will keep dropping by to make sure u order from her rather than the other stall. Doesnt even taste nice anyway.

Dad took us to Air Itam for lunch on Wednesday and introduced my missus with the “Dumb Assam Laksa” situated in the hawker center. Not much of people know it for everyone only goes to the one across the street. Missus love the Assam Laksa here than the one across the street which she had before weeks ago. I trust my missus palate a lot for she really has the ability to distinguish between the sense of flavour and taste. It is the nicest Assam Laksa so far according to her. It’s not too sour and the aroma of the fishy broth is cook to the perfection thickness. Hence the veggie is very generous too. Price is much more cheaper only RM 4.50 for a small bowl which is enough for one. For me personally I do think they serve a really good Laksa too. I like it when the flavour is in full. One of the owner is actually a handicap in talking which is why the Laksa shop is call Dumb Assam Laksa. The other one is his sister which help him to translate customer needs and want. It’s not really that busy so I had a chat with his sister and both of them are super nice people who really put their heart into the cooking. They are close on Monday and Tuesday. Missus even had a picture taken with the owner. Fully recommend the place. And there is also a curry noodles shop in the hawker center too which is really tasty according to my dad but too bad it’s not open on Wednesday. Closed on Monday so basically the whole area is not open on Monday.

In my opinion, this place serves the best Penang Chendol in town! After trying the Chendol here, I doubt I'd ever visit the famous push cart Penang Chendol anymore. Ice was fine like snow and very generous with brown sugar! The ABC ice kacang from the same stall is very good as well - sarsi was added for extra flavour 😋. Please note that there are 2 stalls selling chendol - one by a man, the other a lady. The one I visited was sold by a man. A very kind and friendly uncle! (attached photo for your reference). I also highly recommend the curry mee here!

This duck rice station is quiet good. I choose this station bcuz i think it's famous and also laksa noodle. I wanted to try it, The place was too crowded tho, so i ate it at the hotel. The Laksa noodle taste bad, too much of assam spice. I don't really like the smell of it. I'm so sorry...

Wanted to try the famous Assam laksa across the road but it was closed, so I ended up at this hawker centre. I really liked the roti canai (something like a flatbread), it was very good! The Assam laksa was on the lighter side, I would like it better if it was more flavorful.

People come here for asam laksa and curry mee. Asam laksa’s flavour tasted different with the stall opposite the street, but also quite famous in that area.

Local zhuzhar at Ayer Hitam General judgment: Good. But it was not worth to travel all the way here for zhuzhar if you have other or better choice in where you stay. Cheap but normal zi cha. This restaurant was famous for salted fish dishes. As u walk into the restaurant, u can smell the salted fish aroma. The salted fish minced meat cake that I ordered, I would have expected to taste the salted fish bits and pieces. However it was a total disappointment. Someone said that it was a good zi cha which I doubt so. They can't even cook a good salted fish minced meat cake. If u are very hungry u can come and eat at this zi cha to fulfill your hunger. Because it is cheap. But if u are here for gourmet dishes, u can forget about this place.😣 Google map is slightly off track.

A small kopitiam which is good for a quick fix for lunch or breakfast. They have pan mee, curry mee, economy bihun, freshly steamed pau, chicken rice, fish noodles, curry fish head, Chinese buns and economy rice. The texture of the pan mee is good and not overcooked- I liked the touch of the freshly squeezed limau kasturi to add some tanginess to the noodles. Economy rice has plenty of options and affordable. The pan fried Chinese buns come in a few flavour; yam, sengkuang, pork, chicken, kucai and more. Good when hot from the wok. The uncle selling pau is quite friendly- get his char siew pau if you have the chance to (as he sells out fast) Coffee shop can be cleaner and parking is difficult in the morning.

A typical kopi tiam with good hawker stalls. Notable food in the morning session are curry mee and Economy Rice. In the evening are Char Koay Teow and Myth Curry Fish Head. Good for children, family and friends.

I tried ayer itam laksa for the first time. The honje taste quite prominent in it. However it is not really my taste. Food was dilevered quickly.

There are various hawker’s stand inside. Unfortunately most of the food stand closed when we arrived at around 11:30am.

Ordered the mixed meat (roast chicken, roast pork, crispy pork and bbq pork) with rice. All the meats were juicy and flavoursome, the broth was delicate and beautifully flavoured and the sauce delightfully rich. All came to 13 and was enough for the 2 of us. Recommend this spot to anyone.

The prawn noodles was the surprise here. They offer roast pork (not the crunchy skin type sadly) which gives it a very different level to the usual prawn noodles. The surprise was the pork skin ... Initially thought that was cuttlefish but upon biting it, it was so soft and tender. Full of gelatine - good for the skin! Surprisingly, the famous Ayer Itam assam laksa delivers to this coffee shop too. I would say Prawn Noodles > Ayer Itam Assam Laksa. If the Ayer Itam Assam Laksa had chunks of fish meat in the soup, it would be the hands down winner.

Can order the famous asam laksa from nearby and eat here. But the prawn mee is the star. Can add siew yuk. And its really delicious. That's coming from someone who typically doesnt eat prawn mee.

Just an old food court near Kek Lok Si temple 🛕. Food taste normal acceptable to us for food that we have ordered : Asam Laksa, Fried Oysters & cendol iced shave. Personally have eaten more delicious elsewhere in Penang. Came during 1.30pm , left only few stalls opened during Thursday.

An unusual thing to have Lobak for my breakfast😂😂😂 healthy diet rules are meant to be broken when you're on a holiday mode. Whatever it is! It was delicious. The prawn crackers is crunchy, the beancurd(tofu) and fishcakes were fresh along with the flavorful sauces. Chee Cheong Fun is my all time favourite and I would say it blended well with the sauces. Located in the heartland and far from the touristy parts of the island, this place is as authentic Penang as it gets. The food offerings are the range of hawker and/or street food that Penang is famous for, at very reasonable prices too. Good to know: many of the stalls accept payment by Malaysin ewallets. Parking is hard to find; but there is a paid parking lot at the nearby Kingston Hotel which might have spaces available.

Old world charm surrounds this market made famous by its assam laksa hawker, whose infamy included rumours of using old newspapers in the fish broth heard during my school days. In the late afternoon, few hawkers remain, dishing out the final remnants of chicken soup and fish balls to the straggling tourists. Beware the Cendol on the rocks, an awful bowl of melting ice scrags instead of ice shavings with the lame excuse of accomodating more santan milk. An experience best avoided on tour.

Roadside seller. The experience was good, owner seems to be okay despite reading review about him. Taste seemed more like powdered milk rather than fresh milk. When left to sit for a while, it didn’t form the usual protein film that real fresh milk typically develops. Price is a bit on the high side.

RM16 = 3 cups of small milo milk + ‘special treatment’ Seriously will not recommend this place for a number of reasons: 1. Bad attitude towards customers: My grandmother was ordering 2 cups of milo milk but the owner of the stall could not really hear as the background music was so loud. It is a common sense that you will ask your customer second time if you could not hear what they say. However, he did not do so, just said ‘no’ and walked away immediately, continuing smoking afterwards. 2. Unable to admit mistakes done by staff: I thought the owner might be having a bad day or he just wanted a break; therefore, I ordered from the foreign worker in Malay language, mentioning 2 small cups of milo milk (dining in) and 1 small cup of milo milk (take away). He nodded his head so I would assume he understood. Later on, we were served with 2 cups of plain milk. I then told the foreign worker that this order was wrong. The worker then took 2 cups back to the stall and informed the owner. I could see that the owner was frowning and could not hear what he was mumbling because of the loud background music. The worker then served us the same thing and asked me to pay. Obviously, I will not pay since they did not get my order correctly and he forgot about the takeaway order too. The worker conveyed the message to the owner. It was obvious that he was sour-faced and unwillingly adding milo powders to the 2 cups of plain milk (did not change the cup or milk). [Honestly, I really could not understand why it would be a hassle for him since he just had to add milo powders to the milk in order to rectify the order]. Neither the worker nor the owner took the initiatives to walk over to our table and clarify the situation. 3. Felt discriminated: Since there was confusion over my order, I walked to the stall to clarify my order and also informed the owner about the forgotten takeaway order. While I was ordering in Hokkien (usual dialect used in Penang and the owner understood this language), he appeared irritated and trying to amend the language I used in English (the exact words he used - takeaway is it??) along with the “side-eye” look. From this incident, I did not receive any simple apology or even a smile from the owner/worker, instead I was getting ‘the best treatment’ from the owner. Some readers may think that this was a minor matter; it was absolutely disappointing when this kind of incident happened in the place where I think highly of, Penang.

Just ok, I’ve had better and not worth the trip. We went to try the duck but it was all sold out by the time we arrived but I’m not sure it would have been good enough to make it worth it. Not really good. Had the mix meat and sour soup. Most of the meat were dry and burnt, maybe from previous days. Duck meat was slightly chewy and not really tender. Sour soup is really to my taste as it was just spicy and sour with slight amoky taste from burnt meat.

Recommend by local people. Their roast pork is so crispy. Must try their sour soup 👍. The owner is very friendly.

Ordered char Siew (roasted honeyed pork slices) and shao rou (roasted three layer pork ie crispy pork skin, fats and lean meat layers) with rice. Char Siew came highly recommended by the lady owner who says it's popular. However it was the Worst meal I had in Penang. The rice was mushy and badly cooked. The char Siew was 80% inedible because all fats - no joke. The shao rou was ok but u can get better anywhere in Singapore. The soup was an Assam soup (Hot and sour) which did not go with the rest of the meal. Paid slightly more than 8 ringgits for this. I'd suggest to avoid this place.

First time eat a tomyam that I won't bother to drink the soup, because it is not nice. Lol

Visited last week on a weekday lunch. Somehow pretty quiet!!! Street parking available, surprisingly. Food is so so. The Hor Fun and Mee noodles fried were not great. The custard bun did not have the custard flow easily, more like normal filling. The porridge was acceptable. Same goes with the sui mai and fish balls. Overall, it's just a normal lunch for us. Price wise is competitive.

Had better dim sum around north-east of Penang island. Pls don't have high expectations. Normal tasting, not exactly value for money. Lots of tables & parking.

The worst dining experiences in Penang!! I came around 7.12am with 12 pax today (Sunday). The restaurant was only about 40% full with many empty tables, yet the staff pushed us to a cramped corner space that only fit 2 big tables. One table was already occupied, and the staff casually said the customer would “leave soon,” asking us to sit and wait there. If I hadn’t rejected it, our group of 12 would have been forced to squeeze into that space for breakfast. I asked to sit at the centre hall (completely empty at the time), but staff claimed it was “taken by a 15 pax group for 3 table, 6 pax for another table” and that it was “first come first serve.” In reality, I saw new walk-in customers immediately seated there with no reservation (7.19am). Another centre table was preset with plates (7.30am) and later occupied by just 6 pax (8am), not the so-called big group. Clearly, tables were being held for selected customers. This was misleading and dishonest. If you want to reserve for VIPs, put a sign. Don’t mislead paying customers by saying “first come first serve” when it clearly isn’t.

Absolutely love this place! The dim sum at Maxim is always fresh, tasty, and served hot. There’s a great variety to choose from the har gao, siu mai, and egg tarts are my personal favorites. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the service is fast even when it’s crowded. The atmosphere is lively, typical of a good dim sum spot. Perfect place for breakfast or brunch with family and friends. One of the best dim sum spots in Penang highly recommend!

Fried radish with prawns rm13.90. Quite good, it’s for 2 person portion but I think 3-5 persons also can eat. Found tht the price has been increased a bit compared to last year. Anyhow , service is fast and got robot serving ordered dish. Cha xiu bao is good RM2.8/ea. Worth trying .

Lots of dim sum choices. All was delicious! The place is spacious with a lot of seats. Came around 6:30am and there were a few customers already. A cute robot served the tea. Dim sum are self service at different stations. They even have a full body sanitizing device at the entry. Cool! 😎😋👍⭐

I had curry noodles at this vegetarian Kopitiam in Ayer Itam. While the noodles may not be the absolute best, they meet a 5-star standard. Their kueh is excellent, and the mix rice takeaway offers over 50 diverse dishes to choose from. Great variety!

They sell vegetarian mixed rice, sandwiches, eggless cakes, kuih, noodles etc . Delicious and reasonable price 👍👍😋😋 Brown rice is available too. The only disadvantage is difficult to find car parking. Can't park at the roadside or else you will get compound from PDRM (Police) which you have to pay RM100++ ?? (forgot exactly how much).

It's vegetarian!!! Inexpensive. The "cham" and "teh tarik" drinks could be better, but, you're here for the vegetarian food. Not sure about the paper straw with the disposable plastic cup.

A Chinese food court near Penang Hill (About 200m). Many varieties of food for you to choose. But still have some food stall that are not so satisfied with the food taste and the cooking style. The food not even done cooked yet! Please be sure that food is well cooked before serving to the customers!

I have not been to this place for more than a decade and in the old days, I recall there are a lot of nice hawker food around but I think over time, the hawkers have probably left and also the cafe most likely change ownership already. But the good news is this place seems renovated and in pretty good condition in general. But of course the most important thing is the food. I tried the Char Kuey Teow with duck egg and it is pretty good and acceptable. Definitely not on par with the famous CKTs around Penang but still OK. I also tried the apom balik and it is nice although I would have prefered the outer area to be more crispy type instead of soft. There is also a van outside the coffee shop selling fried chicken and it is pretty good and no wonder there is quite a bit of queue here! I think the hawker stalls here is pretty limited and I hope they can expand more stalls. Else I am not surprised it was not that packed when we went. Overall a decent place but not really recommended if you want to savor all the popular hawker food Penang is famous for.

Slightly higher priced on the majority of food there and an average rating on the taste of food at this food court. Notable food at this food court is the Bitter Gourd Soup Stall and the 'Chu Char' Stall (Cook-to-order stall) like Spicy Potatoes Leaves, Emperor vegetables cooked in garlic and Sour Plum Chicken. We ordered the Sambal Potato Leaves, Fried Brocolli, Fried Fish Spring Onion Ginger, and Lotus Root Soup... pair with Tau Ew Bak (Black Sauce Pork) and Fish Maw Soup. Averaged set-up of tables and chairs, slightly roomy (not packed like a sardine kind of arrangement), airy with high ceiling or no ceiling if sitting outdoors. At this current price, the Chu Char and the Fish Maw soup are very reasonably priced.

A convenient rest stop that’s a 10min walk away from Penang Hill, good place to grab some local food and chill. There isn’t a wide variety here but the wanton mee is worth getting as the noodles are served al dente. For something light, the pork organ soup is clear and peppery, pretty refreshing and not to filling. However the lu rou fan from the same stall was quite disappointing. We also tried the pancakes from the cart right outside the kopitiam, it was warm and slightly sweet, good to snack on for some refuel!

Got to know this place from a friend that frequent a massage joint nearby. This restaurant apparently is from the same owner. This so call southern Thai restaurant is one the better one that I have tasted outside of Thailand. A special call out on the lime steam fish of which is very appetising; just hitting the right chord without being too sour. Bought a package that allow me to enjoy some discount as I believe I will definitely be back here whenever I have craving for Thai food.

First time patronising this restaurant, mostly manned by Thais. Good services rendered. Food is pretty; the Lime Steamed Clams is tangy & hot! Gave us a good punch! We ordered the. chicken Tom Yum and it is full of ingredients and delicious although it's not very spicy. Cha Om Omelette is fragrant & tasty! I also loved the Stirfried Kailan & Crispy Pork. Prices are reasonable as even the small.portion is big enough for 3 persons. Will return for their other dishes.

I had a wonderful experience enjoying Thai food here. The fish was fresh and delicious, the seafood was very fresh too, and the vegetables were nicely cooked. The drinks were great and complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, a satisfying and tasty meal!

Just had it the first time! Thought the stall would be closed due to the rain but nope they were there! Dabao one for RM4.30 - added more rice - x1 fried chicken - cucumbers - eggs - anchovies with spicy sambal (skipped the prawns and fish cause too lazy for the shells and bones). Finished in 10 minutes! Delicious! At 5am, this nasi lemak has much better value for money than nearby McDonald’s and KFC breakfasts. One thing to be clear though: It’s actually WHITE rice with nasi lemak ingredients, not the typical coconut milk rice we’ve elsewhere. Overall, lovin’ it!

I am long a buyer at the stall for years. Unfortunately the food is getting less yummy,smaller portion. Less coconut milk used to cook rice,fewer anchovies mixed with only two spoons of sambal sauce,smaller egg portion,but the price is higher since 2019.Taste no longer the same as few years back. Look as if the trader want to save every penny to make maximum profits as possible. They (the stall owners,their son and two elder staffs) wouldn't entertain you if you ask any. Sour-faced,you can see them clearly when you come to buy one.

Disappointed. "NasiLemak" without anchovy, nuts and the basic santan, just plan rice with chilli paste. Price wise is ok. RM7 for plain rice + small chicken + XS size Fish slice + XS Prawn. Will never visit again.

First time here, I had ordered a pork rib Mee Suah, 😋 portion is big enough and definitely value for money. A lot of choice available for other 🍜 Noodle also. You can park your car on the private carpark or paid street parking also available.

This is a nice cafe in Ayer Item. The set up of the cafe is a standard local cafe in Penang. The most famous Penang street foods can also be found here. We tried the Char Koay Teow and Hokkien Mee, which were quite good.

As a Penangite, this Hokkien Mee really surprised me. The mixed soup with Maggi noodles is a must-try. The only downside is that the coffee shop’s cleanliness could be improved.

We’ve been in Penang for a few days, exploring and hunting for the best local food, and we finally found the best asam laksa right here! Highly recommended. And also the rojak uncle are cute 🥰 Cendol is yummy especially they put the cardamom in too !

The braised pork knuckle rice was delicious even though the meat was slightly tough. The fat melts in the mouth and the broth was flavourful. The green chili sambal was very good. Had Ulam sambal, Pad Kra Pao pork rice and Thai milk tea on the next visit. The sambal for the Ulam was superb. Pad Kra Pao pork rice was authentic and the Thai milk tea was really good.

This was honestly the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had! I’m vegetarian, and they were so kind to prepare it with tofu instead of shrimp – without any hesitation. The staff was incredibly attentive and accommodating, and the food was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended – I would come back anytime!

Food was good but we ordered pad Thai which was 13 rm on the menu and she charged 25 rm each supposedly because she added fish, which we didn’t request, we just said we didn’t want meat, only seafood (which was displayed in the menu). She only told us it was more money when we went to pay at the end. The communication was very hard because the lady didn’t speak English. In the end we ended up negotiating for 20 rm each. In summary, if you are a tourist, ask about the price first because you might get an unpleasant surprise in the end.

Beautiful rooftop restaurant with great ambience and flavourful food. We had a lovely dinner here, everything was well-presented and cooked to perfection. The 28-day aged Angus striploin was tender and juicy, perfectly grilled with rich smoky aroma. The 10-day aged salmon was buttery and fresh, and the Crab on Rock was a refreshing starter. Dessert with the signature Kek Lok Si Durian Crème Brûlée was the perfect finish. Service was attentive, and the rooftop dome setting created a cozy and romantic atmosphere. Highly recommend for special occasions, date nights, or simply to enjoy a nice view over Ayer Itam 🌿✨

• We ordered the Australian ribeye and Australian wagyu, and both were cooked exactly the way we wanted. Juicy, tender and full of flavour. • For drinks, we tried the tiramisu coffee and the pistachio coffee. They tasted beautifully unique. • The staff weren’t just doing their job, they were genuinely warm and attentive. They checked on us often without being intrusive. • The ambience was comfortable and calm, perfect for a slow, meaningful dinner together especially bithday celebration. • The prices matched the quality we received, and we left feeling satisfied and happy. We would definitely come again, especially for the steaks and those unforgettable coffees.

Had a really good tome celebrating a birthday at Flame! Atmosphere was amazing upon walking into the entrance and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. Would definitely recommend coming to celebrate a special occasion!

This place is hidden gem we accidentally discovered whilst looking for place to eat after returning from Penang Hill. The Flame crispy chicken burger was unforgettable and was accompanied by a dry ice and flame show. The smoky satay chicken thigh wasn't a satay per se but was delicious and accompanied by 2 side dishes. The Cesar salad was different and had a smoky taste I assume from the flaming of the salad leaves during preparation. Nice touch. The staff were friendly and provided good service in particular Mr William who was very attentive and friendly. We even got a complimentary ice cream as desert from William. A must go place if you're tired of Penang hawker food and want to try some Western food with a difference

Ordered Grab pickup. Pizza was ready on-time and piping hot. Crust was pretty good and there was almost no crust rim which is a good thing (filled to the brim). The tomato sauce and chicken were flavourful, the garlic sauce could have been stronger, the salted egg sauce could have been better. Vegetables on the pizza were still moist and had their flavours retained.

Really delicious pizza. The owner is extremely helpful and polite. We'll be sure to order again from them. Very very satisfied and recommended.

I was really impressed with the quality of the pizza. We got a deal for 2 large for rm38 for meat lovers style. We chose normal thickness crust. Although halal, the taste was really good and fresh. Great western style pizza! These guys are better than us pizza, dominos, etc. Plus cheaper. Can deliver for rm3 from grab, but I dont think you'll get 2 large for rm38 though. Try them out.

Found this restaurant thru goggle search, went for lunch wz hubby this afternoon. Amazing, from the quality of food, tip top service n pricing was reasonable. Owner himself served us, super friendly even order taker was prompt n full of courtesy. Recommend this place even though place was small but cosy

The chendol is too hard and the iceshavings are too coarse. Very few selections of Chinese hawker food like char koay teow etc . Almost all look like foreign workers . Lack of authentic local fare. The hawkers who previously sold in Sunshine Farlim no longer sell their pegaga juice, cendol, pizza, and fried chicken.
