You can spend a lot of time in the market and it can be intense and at close quarters with everyone keen to get your business. Prices are very negotiable. Its a great place to eat at a good price. The shopping is the surrounding streets is just as good and more enjoyable. There are some fixed price shops around which probably give a fair price although there can still be a bit of room to move. Generally at the other shops they will start at twice what they want. Of course if you have time it's best to try a few and you will usually get a good offer when you are walking away.

A nice market with a high energy vibe! There are many shops of many different kinds of products. There's also a food court for your heart's delight. The food was very inexpensive and good. There are many styles competing for your patronage so you will have many food options to choose from with highly reasonable prices. It's also shoppers paradise for cheap bargains. Notice I said bargains because the prices can be negotiated up to 70 to 80% at times 🤪🤪 that of course depends on the shop and the item not everyone is as lucky 😂 but overall it's an enjoyable experience window shopping for a bargain. I had high expectations for Ben Thanh Market, but the experience was disappointing. The place is extremely crowded and chaotic, making it hard to enjoy browsing. Many vendors are overly pushy and keep following you, which gets uncomfortable after a while. Prices are heavily inflated, and you really need to bargain hard — otherwise, you’ll end up paying far more than things are worth. The quality of some products also felt questionable. Overall, it felt more like a tourist trap than an authentic shopping experience. Ben Thanh Market was not as enjoyable as I expected. The place is too crowded, and it’s difficult to move around comfortably. Most vendors are quite pushy, and prices seem much higher than normal unless you bargain very hard. The market feels more tourist-focused than authentic, which made the experience underwhelming. My verdict: Ben Thanh market experience is not good, annoying vendors with forced sales, sophisticated inside, high price for tourist and arrogant people

Ben Thanh Market is definitely a well-known spot in Ho Chi Minh City, especially for tourists. If you are looking for souvenirs, small gifts or general tchotchkes to bring home, you will find plenty of options here. It is busy, colorful and full of energy, which some people might really enjoy. For me personally, I did not find it particularly interesting. Most of the items felt very tourist oriented and not especially useful. Prices also start off quite high because it is a tourist-heavy area, so you are expected to negotiate. If you do not bargain, you will almost certainly end up overpaying. If you are looking for better quality items or things you might actually use, I would recommend checking out Saigon Square instead. It has a wider range of products, more reasonable prices and a more practical selection overall. Ben Thanh Market is fine for a quick visit if you want the tourist experience, but there are better options in the city for real shopping.

This market is definitely worth seeing, but if you don’t mind wandering through the city you’ll find much better offers. You’ll notice the vendors are far more aggressive than other markets. Everyone is friendly though and they’re eager to sell. If you’re willing to bargain you can get really good deals. I’ll admit, I’m not so good at bargaining.

You don’t really have to buy your tickets in advance. Maybe on a weekend? I’m not sure. The collections in the museum are amazing. Just prepare your tissue, and yourself because you’ll get angry and teary at the same time. It’s not hot inside, and there’s an elevator for people with disabilities, elderly, or pregnant woman. If you really want to immerse yourself in here, and read everything. Allot at least 3-4 hours.

Amazing little museum. 3 floors of information pertaining to the Vietnam war and it’s lasting effects. In particular, I found the “War Photographers” section to be captivating…a lot of stories in there about journalists all over the globe that were intent on capturing the war and the brutality therein, often times paying the ultimate price for their attempts to broadcast the truth. The entire museum could easily take 2-4 hours if you’re intent on reading all the descriptions (provided in Vietnamese and English). One small note - I didn’t see any warnings, but some of the content in here can definitely be unsettling. I’m glad they haven’t shied away from this, as it’s important to show the horrible effects of the war directly. But there are quite a lot of pictures of dead and mutilated bodies, especially within the “War Crimes” room. Also, there’s a large section dedicated to the health ramifications of Agent Orange, showing the deformities (in both children and adults, Vietnamese and foreign) and mental conditions caused by that horrible chemical. I saw a lot of families with young kids in here, and a lot of the children had slightly terrified looks on their faces. I assume if it was affecting to me, it may have been doubly so for them. Again, I recommend coming and not turning your face away from the horrible facts and effects of the war, but if you’re sensitive or have young children who may not be mentally prepared for such imagery, you may want to avoid certain exhibits that you feel could include such photographs (mainly War Crimes and Agent Orange are the two areas that are disturbing, I haven’t included any pictures from them below). If you’re in Saigon even a little bit interested in the history and lasting effects of the war, this is a must-visit museum. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was crowded, but still easy to see everything.

Was on an emotional rollercoaster. Need more than an hour here, like 2 or more to look at the pictures, read and absorb, and look at the artillery and remnants. There are several sections and take your time through each. You will definitely leave emotionally numb yet applauding the nation and the support it enjoyed during its struggles.....

Very sad and confronting. We really took our time to look at everything. The more and more we read it was a little disheartening. War is never a great thing but unfortunately this museum is very one sided. They don't tell the whole truth. In one way I understand why they say USA invaded but for the South this was not true. The USA and Australians and other countries came to help the South but this is never mentioned. Even speaking to locals about this they agree and a very passionate about how one sided it is. I still recommend this place highly but have your own view on this. Apart from that, the photos are always etched in my mind.

Was a great museum full of relics and monuments to a whole lot. The floors are dedicated to different “eras” or tragedies of the war. Which were of course depressing to read about, but very important to understand and learn from. The staff were also very helpful and there was a virtual tour (headphones) to help

First time my daughter visited War Museum. she was truly amazed. The powerful displays, old photographs, and real war artifacts left her speechless. The place wasn't crowded at all. Ground floor did't have any AC but 1st and 2nd floor had AC. Staff was helpful at the gate.

This time I only came to buy a few stamps, but ended up staying much longer, once again drawn in by its timeless beauty. The architecture is a real showstopper — French colonial with ornate detailing that gives the building an almost palace-like feel. The arched ceiling inside, painted in a mix of green and gold with iron support beams, is visually stunning. The mosaic floor tiles are equally beautiful and well preserved, adding another layer of character. At the far end, the large portrait of Ho Chi Minh watching over the bustling space gives the post office both cultural and historical weight. There are also old French maps painted directly onto the walls, one showing Southern Vietnam and Cambodia, which is a unique historical touch. Despite being a working post office, it also feels like a museum — and it does get quite warm inside due to the constant stream of visitors. Visited Saigon Central Post office as part of a tour, so we only made a quick stop. It was quite crowded when we arrived around 2:30 PM. Lots of postcards and cute souvenirs for sale inside and outside. There are tables and chairs where you can write your cards, just bring your own pen. Postcards sold inside are a slightly pricey (25k–40k VND each). The nearby Book Market also sells similar ones. If you have time, get postcards at Ben Thanh Market instead. I got 3 for 20k VND, same quality and beautiful designs. Postage costs around 22,500–33,500 VND depending on the destination. The staff are helpful and also sell stamps (mostly 4k, 8k, 15k denominations). Just leave your written and stamped postcards in the small basket near the counter. Tip: Pre-write your postcards if you can, since it’s hot and crowded inside. Leave space for the stamps. Price for a postcard and enveloped greeting card are not the same. There’s Highlands Coffee right outside if you need a place to cool down. Notre Dame Cathedral is just across the street too. Got my postcards after 6 weeks they arrived in great condition with a nice red “Par Avion” stamp.

We visited the Central Post Office on 7th July around 10:30 AM, and honestly, it completely exceeded our expectations. It’s surprisingly convenient and a nice mix of old-world charm and modern hustle. It was definitely crowded when we were there — tourists, locals, school kids — but in a good way. It just shows how loved this place really is. Despite the crowd, it didn’t feel overwhelming at all; the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. And here’s the part I loved the most — you can buy a postcard, write something personal, and send it to anyone in the world right from here. Not as impressive as I wanted it to be. Disorganized, and unfortunately as with many historical sights in Vietnam, everything has to be turned into a shopping mall for maximum profits. Still, not enough ground to skip this magnificent building from a bygone age.

My husband enjoy the guy shooting AK47 also the small tiny Tunnel go down and cover up. I myself try to walk through into a small Tunnel Omg so hot, need to band down to walk. But very good experience. It’s hard to believe how people dug and lived in tunnels during the war. Overall very good experience for us.

What an experience! First time I've first hand experienced a historical moment in modern human history told from the "other side". Truly eye opening and horrific moment in our history, especially with the current geopolitical events occurring live in front of our eyes, it gives a whole new perspective to it. This is a great place for all colonizing countries to visit, especially the French, British and of course Americans.

Very interesting experience to learn about Vietnam’s war . I booked a tour so the tour guide bought the tickets for me. Bring mosquito spray and maybe long sleeve. I came during a weekday, so I didn’t have to wait that much to enter into the tunnels. The tunnels are very small, so bring comfortable shoes and clothes.

was lucky to bump into a performance during the travel so attended it at the night we discovered it. It's a bit old but still beautiful, sounds barriers could be improved though, sometimes you can hear the honking of cars from outside. Seats are cozy too. Overall lovely experience.

Beautiful building in the city central of Saigon. The AO bamboo show is hosting at the Saigon Opera house so you can go see the show and see the inside of the Opera house. The show is very skill and fun to watch. I always see some wedding photos shoot when I go pass the Opera house.

A really peaceful place. There is no admission fee and you can go in and pray for good health, good luck or any blessings you would like in your life. There are donation boxes available if you’d like to donate to the temple. I could stay here the whole day because it is so peaceful compared to the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City. No photographs were allowed inside the temple, so photos here were taken outside the temple.

The Jade Emperor Pagoda in Vietnam is a beautiful temple dedicated to the Jade Emperor. Photography is not allowed inside, but you can capture pictures outside. Free entry. Visitors are expected to follow a modest dress code, covering shoulders and knees. Free Parking is available within the premises.

Jade Emperor Pagoda was totally different from other pagodas. When I was there it was almost 12PM and it was full of people including tourists from other countries. For Vietnamese, they could go there to pray for love, children and peace. It was a very famous pagoda for that. The pagoda was so...pink, it was coral pink and it was attractive from the outside. In the South of Vietnam, especially in China town, they had a tradition of worshipping the Jade Emperor while in the North, I haven't seen anyone did. The toilet area was outside and quite clean

The temple, adorned with iconographic artwork, felt more like a venue for revenue generation than a sacred place of worship. Admittedly, I had not researched the temple's history before my visit, so it’s possible I missed key aspects of its significance. However, the overall atmosphere left me questioning the balance between preserving cultural heritage and catering to tourism.

From craning your neck muscles to see where the top of this building is, within seconds you will teleport to up the 48 floors in seconds which the speed will make your eardrums pop. Once you step of the elevator you are greeted with 360 degree views of the sprawling city for as far as the eye can see. Free binoculars provide the ability to see on a street level the happenings in any direction. I glanced in one and witnessed a police officer pulling someone over. Sadly did not see any topless sunbathers on roofs however. You are also provided 1 free bottle of water. A custom it seems in many places here. There is some good history on the city, culture, fashion art and engineering displayed on the walls. Also women working on intricate stick art.

The photo edit for the souvenir isn't very smooth. The air inside is cool and chilly, and the staff are friendly. You get drinking water (booked via Klook). This is the 5th most iconic building in the world. A must-visit!

A visit is worth it just for the buildings. Victorian lifts with round staircases, beautiful tiling on the floors. I would have like more information on the history of these building. Artwork is a mix of paintings, sculpture, ceramics and very limited prints. I was very disappointed that we were chased out of building 2, and we were not able to view the special exhibition. I was taking photos with my handheld camera and was told ‘No camera’ ‘No camera’ which does not make sense as there were people doing full on camera shoots of various woman who were dressed up, and they were allowed??? Besides people were taking photos with their cell phones… Cost VND30 per adult.

The Ho Chi Minh fine arts museum is housed in a couple of grand mansions. The architecture of these two mansions are just beautiful! One even has an elevator with a wooden car. One house has old artworks while the other has new and modern works. Only phone cameras are allowed here.

Pros: Definitely worth a visit and worth the price. Three stunning buildings all full of stunning art and gorgeous architecture. Cons: Full of young Asians taking pictures of themselves pretending to look at the art, standing in front of pieces for 10-20 minutes, which is annoying if you actually are there to appreciate art. Ruins the vibe. Also in the third building a janitor turned off the lights at 16:45 when it should close at 17:00.

This is a fine art museum only showcasing Vietnamese art. There is a lot of art from the struggle but also from beforehand. There is different styles of sculptures in different mediums both inside and outside.a few drawings, lots of water colour, oil and lacquer paintings. Wood and ceramic art can also be found. The museum is lacking in explanations of time periods on the information provided. Many items do not have a year, sometimes a century is given in Roman numerals? We were disappointed to be chased out of building number 2 upon entry. Apparently it is closed to visitors, we didn’t see any signs though. We were hoping to see the advertised ‘Special Exhibition’. If we had known it was closed we probably wouldn’t have gone. The buildings themselves are beautiful, I would have liked to have learned more about the actual buildings history, but nothing was available beside”the buildings were built in the early twentieth century “ and “the architecture is a combination of European and Asian styles’. Cost is VND30 per adult. Some rooms have fans, air-con is weak in others. There are toilets.

I haven't enjoyed an art museum quite this much in a while. Their collections are just beautiful and I'm particularly impressed by the realist paintings. They have 3 buildings and honestly I would've been satisfied with just the 3-storied first building so I got more than I expected! For a 30000 ticket fee (that was easy to get at the front counter) this is a really great visit!

Yesterday marked my third visit to the Independence Palace, and each time, I uncover something new that deepens my appreciation for this historic place. It truly is a reminder that when we take the time to slow down and explore, we connect more meaningfully with the stories and memories preserved within its walls. On this visit, I delved deeper into the rich history behind the palace, understanding why it has been so carefully preserved, the pivotal events that unfolded here, and glimpses into the lives and struggles of those who lived through that era. I took extra time to explore the lesser-known corners: the basement, the smaller rooms, and the poignant details, like the involvement of South Korean forces in conflicts far from their homeland and the harsh realities of war that ensued. It’s heartbreaking to reflect on the pain endured, but also reassuring to see how far Vietnam has come since those turbulent times. This experience has given me a greater appreciation for the resilience and strength of the Vietnamese people. Even my kids enjoyed the visit, though they were a bit disappointed that the pianos in the palace aren’t available for visitors to play. I recently visited Independence Palace, and I must say, the experience was quite memorable. The palace is absolutely huge much bigger than I had expected. It felt like I was walking through a never ending maze of grand halls, historic rooms, and long corridors. After a while, I actually started to feel tired from all the walking! If you’re planning to explore the entire palace, definitely wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to spend a good few hours there. One thing I noticed and something that did affect the experience was that many parts of the palace didn’t have air conditioning. Given how hot and humid the weather was during my visit, it got quite uncomfortable in several sections. Some rooms were noticeably stuffy, and at times I found myself rushing through just to get back to cooler areas. That said, the architecture and historical significance of the palace are undeniable. The design is both elegant and symbolic, and each room seems to hold a story of its own. I especially enjoyed the presidential meeting rooms and the war command center in the basement both were fascinating glimpses into Vietnam’s past. Overall, while the lack of AC in many areas made the visit a bit exhausting, the sheer scale, historical richness, and grandeur of the Independence Palace still made it worth the trip. I’d recommend it, but maybe plan your visit during cooler parts of the day.

It is also known as the Reunification Palace in Saigon(ho Chi Minh City) . Spent few hours wandering those huge retro rooms with the leather chairs, massive floor mats, and that epic rooftop helipad. The basement war bunker with the old phones and narrow tunnels blew my mind. Gardens outside are lush and perfect for photos. Left with goosebumps and a many pics. Absolute must-do for any history nerd in Ho Chi Minh City!

The Independence Palace is worth a quick visit for its history and architecture, but honestly I don’t think the audio guide is worth buying. There are already plenty of signs and information around, so you can still understand the place without it. It’s definitely a spot filled with history, and you get a sense of the important events that happened here. A good stop if you’re exploring District 1, but I’d recommend just walking around on your own.

Generally a good museum in a beautiful old building, however the building itself needs renovation badly. The stories presented are great but could be executed and shown way better. Another issue is that there are dozens of grooms and brides doing their photo shoots. This in itself is nice, but the sheer number of them conflicts with the museums regular operation. Solution would be separate time slots for visitors and for photo shoots.

A little classic old time building seem to be very popular for wedding photo and photo shoots as every windows were taken by a full set of professional photographer. The two stories building has contained a lot of information about Vietnam history and present. The money currency room was particularly interesting for me as I find the current money of Vietnam hard to wrap my head around. The hallway entrance and the staircase to the second floor is very beautiful and were the main spot for the wedding photos shoot of multiple couples on the day we visited, so there was a bit of a wait to moved through the building. Overall, a nice building to visit if you have free time.

Quite disjointed, it’s not always clear how what you’re looking at flows in narrative. It feels more like a backdrop for weddings, graduations, and photo sessions than a museum, and wherever you walk you end up interrupting someone taking pictures. The descriptions are okay, but some objects are mislabelled (like number 4 in the picture below). Worth a quick walk if you’re nearby, but I’ve seen better museums.

This museum puts an unvarnished shine on the Peoples struggle to be reunited in free in Vietnam. We found the museum to be interesting and worth a dollar and a half. It cost to get in. Strangely, there are many people inside doing their wedding photos which we have to be the unique and interesting place for that activity

Mixed experience, while it had some interesting historical displays, it's clearly been forgotten and not a priority for the city. Weird how those cringy thirst trap "influencers" kept posing around the curved stairwell for photos. it's a curved stairwell, get over it.

My family and I accidentally stumbled upon this museum en route to Notre Dame Cathedral from the Opera House. It is a mid sized museum but it houses important historical exhibits, some military remnants of war like planes and helicopters. What is striking about this place is the interior. It has an exquisitely designed interior influenced by old eurasian stylings. There is a grand staircase where we saw couples dressed up and posing for their pre nuptial photo shoot. There is also a bunker / escape tunnel for visitors to explore. Overall, a great experience for our family. If you plan to head to the Notre Dame Cathedral or the Post Office from the city center, this would be a good stopover. Just be careful of the shady and pushy coconut vendors outside the premises, they will offer their products and once you show interest they will overcharge you.

Notre Dame Cathedral, Ho Chi Minh – Currently Underwhelming Visited the Notre Dame Cathedral during my trip — unfortunately, it’s under renovation, so much of its charm is hidden behind scaffolding. In photos, it doesn’t quite capture the grandeur you’d expect. Right now, it feels like just another cathedral to tick off the list rather than a highlight. Still worth a quick stop if you're nearby, but don’t set your expectations too high until the restoration is complete.

We visited this area in the morning. The Notre-Dame Cathedral is currently under renovation, and some locals nearby told us that the construction has been ongoing for quite a long time and is expected to finish around 2027. But don’t worry — right opposite the cathedral is the Central Post Office, another major attraction in Ho Chi Minh City. Many people visit this historic building for its beautiful architecture and cultural value. Also, this spot is where Ho Chi Minh City’s official tourist buses start their route. These buses cover all major sightseeing places across the city. You’ll usually find one or two buses parked here near the intersection, ready to take tourists around. Even if the cathedral is under construction, this area still offers a lot to experience and makes for a great stop during your city tour.

My timing was a bit off when I visited Notre Dame in Ho Chi Minh. The famous basilica was undergoing a massive renovation and it was closed to the public. I just walked around it and took a pic of the lovely statue in front.

At this point, there’s no reason to go and try to see the cathedral at all. It’s completely covered with scaffolding to where you can’t even see the towers at all let alone get in.

When we visited there on 7 May 2025 it was raining slightly and renovation work was going on. So we couldn't explore it much more. This is a famous cathedral and landmark.

Would like to have given it more stars but we really didn’t get to see it except from the outside. We walked from the Palace to Notre Dame Cathedral and were disappointed to find that it was closed for tours due to renovation work being done. This would have been a great piece of history for us to experience but it will have to wait until our next visit to Saigon.

This is a market to visit if you want something that is removed from something as touristy as Ben Thanh market. This is definitely an older part of HCMC. The market is well-organized by areas (housewares, shoes, foods, etc). The aisles are very tight. English is touch and go. Prices are a lot lower than Ben Thanh. There's really no haggling, as we learned. Walking on the outside of the market, you'll see the livestock and fresh produce. Definitely, something to behold.

Not such a delight for an Indian because we have very similar busting daily markets of our own. So the experience is very similar. But I can imagine what a haven this place is for visitors from non-Asian countries. Essentially a local market selling everything from food, fresh produce, dry food products, clothes, accessories, home products, and more!

Oriental Market sells a wide variety of goods including dried goods, clothing and souvenirs. The place is always busy from morning to evening, and is a must-see for tourists from all over the world.

A beautiful and serene park in the middle of bustling Ho Chi Minh City. Pros: -Lots of shade to escape the sun & rain -Lots of butterflies, squirrels, and other adorable insects and small animals -Very peaceful; doesn’t get too busy -Has a playground for children, so is very family-friendly Cons: The major (and only) con I’ve ever run into here, twice now, is a shoe cleaning scam. If you are a foreigner, they will make a casual beeline toward you and either 1. compliment your shoes and ask to take a look, or 2. make a “ew” face and start cleaning them immediately. The first time this happened, I said no three times but they chased me down anyways, and a local I was chatting with ended up making him only charge me around 60,000vnd. The next time I went, the man was so aggressive he would let me go, and basically tore off my sandal and wouldn’t give it back. He installed and shaved down new ankles for my birkenstocks, though I repeatedly told him not to, and stated countless times that I had no money. He demanded 500k and kept hounding me to go to an ATM. I stayed firm, gave him the only money I had (which was $4usd, which he kept trying to throw back at me) and ran the heck outta there. If you quickly walk away and don’t engage with them, you should be fine. Besides all of this, the walk itself is beautiful.

This is a beautiful place for relaxation and serenity, with lush greenery that sets the perfect mood. It's ideal for outdoor activities like playing and exercising, and also a great spot for meditation.

This place must be alive with colour when all the flowers are in bloom. This is an expansive park in very busy District 1. It feels like an oasis away from the constant traffic noises. There are temples, whimsical displays and carvings. On the morning we were there, a man was whistling for squirrels to come down from the trees to get nuts he had placed for them. He told us that this is his daily routine and wouldn't miss a day without feeding his squirrels. A beautiful tranquil park if you want to take a break for a while.

Beautiful little park in the heart of HCMC. On a typical day, you'd find a few families having a picnic, people of all ages having a game of Da Cau or random tourists just walking through - but it's hardly ever crowded ... Beautifully landscaped with greens all around, tall trees to shrubs and bushes to a variety of flowering plants. In the middle of the park, there's a small temple. It's really an oasis of calm and quiet in the heart of a bustling city.

We decided to spend the afternoon at the Saigon Zoo before our evening flight. I had visited a few years ago and wasn’t particularly impressed, but I’m glad I returned. There has clearly been a lot of work put into the zoo, and the experience is now so much better. We were able to see meerkats, otters, bears, elephants, giraffes, monkeys, iguanas, and a wide variety of birds—plus so much more. The zoo is quite spacious, offering plenty of shade and walking areas, which makes it easy to explore without feeling crowded. Another highlight is the affordability of the entrance fee, which makes it accessible to families and budget travellers. There are also interactive feeding zones that add to the experience and make it more engaging for visitors of all ages. Overall, Saigon Zoo is well worth a visit if you have a few hours to spare in Ho Chi Minh City. It’s a relaxing and enjoyable way to see a wide range of animals in the heart of the city.

It’s been so long since the last time I visited this place, don’t remember exactly but this time when came back felt nostalgic as I revisited our generation childhood place. Families, friends, someone would like to spend splendid time alone also great choice to be here. Surrounded by the green, animals,…we’ll feel much better. I hope the zoo always there to be able to see how fast development of the city and always there to welcome their children to visit them despite how the time flies. The entrance to the Saigon Zoo is very affordable, making it a nice option for a casual outing. The place has a really positive and lively atmosphere, filled with families, kids, and locals enjoying their day. It's quite a large area, so walking through it can take some time-especially under the hot weather-but it's worth it if you take your time and explore different sections. My favorite part was definitely the bears. They wer surprisingly friendly and even waved at visitors when people offered them food, which was both funny and heartwarming to watch. The zoo overall feels like a mix of local charm and old-fashioned simplicity, giving you a glimpse of how Vietnamese families enjoy their weekends together. If you don't mind the heat and want to experience something authentic and relaxing, it's a nice place to spend a few hours surrounded by nature and cheerful energy.

There are many kinds of animals in this zoo, and the entrance fee is also reasonable. In particular, there are French baboons, crocodiles, giant pandas, and many other species that we have never seen in person. You can see them on this phone. I spent an hour with my family to enjoy the animals, but I still haven't seen everything. You can spend more than an hour or half a day in this zoo to see all the places. Some places are still being renovated and better organized.

Enjoyable zoo and botanic gardens. It's a bit scruffy in places and the botanical gardens need better explanatory information. Not all enclosures provide the best experience for the animals, so if you are sensitive to that, best avoid. Iguanas and butterflies very special, and rare white rhino.

Absolutely disgusting conditions for the animals. DO NOT GO If you have any conscience or love for animals because they are in the worst possible imaginable conditions. The cages and water is disgusting, We even saw plastic rubbish inside the enclosures. These animals are lacking any signs of joy or stimulation. They look absolutely miserable. I wish there was a way to report this. Wayyy too many animals in very small areas. Animals were clawing at the cages to get out, I felt just sick.We only went to look at the botanical gardens and could barely stomach walking through. Tons needs to be SHUT DOWN

This was the least interesting destination for me during my trip to HCMC. The museum has many relics and a variety of displays, and I was surprised to see a preserved body, or what appeared to be a life-like replica, on display. Many local art students were there, sketching the artifacts, which is commendable, as I couldn’t even tolerate 5 minutes in the stuffy rooms during the morning heat due to the lack of AC. The souvenir shop in the middle doesn’t offer the most affordable items. Overall, it was a rather meh experience for me. I imagine it could be much more engaging for someone with a deeper interest in culture and history.

BEWARE coconut saler scam in the area! Chaotic day to go anywhere on the 2nd of September, the 80th National Day. The museum is partly in construction but still has a lot to go see! I love the little pond and garden after the entrance. There are many interesting facts and pieces of history here in this museum! The zoo next door was insane!

Admission is 30k VND per ticket. Visited on 5 June afternoon. Had quite a lot of local and foreign visitors when I visited. Got to learn about the religion and history of Vietnam, especially Southern Vietnam. Spent around 1 hour to get to learn sufficient amount of exhibits.

Came here in August recently, a short walk from Saigon Cathedral. The museum is just before the entrance to the zoo. Was more interested in the botanical garden but that is located within the zoo, decided to skip all in view of time.

A really charming museum with really antique architecture. I reccomend anyone who is interested in vietnamese history and archaeology to go visit this place. It’s also near the saigon zoo (one of the oldest zoos in the world) so a full day spent would be a wonderful experience. If there’s anything to complain it would be the lack of AC and the smell from the ongoing renovation.

I visited the Tân Định Catholic Church and was immediately struck by its striking pink façade it’s hard to miss and even harder not to admire. The architecture is incredibly well preserved, with intricate white trim details that add elegance and contrast beautifully with the pastel exterior. It’s known for its vivid color, the church was ia popular photo stop for tourists and locals alike. During my visit, I noticed many tour groups arriving to appreciate and photograph the church from various angles. Unfortunately, the church was closed when I arrived, which was a bit disappointing as I was keen to see the interior. However, even from the outside, it’s a visual delight and definitely worth visiting. The surrounding grounds were tidy and enhanced by religious statues and floral arrangements, adding to the peaceful, reverent atmosphere. Built in the 1870s during the French colonial period, Tân Định Church is one of the oldest and most iconic Roman Catholic churches in the city. It reflects a blend of Gothic and Romanesque design influences, topped with a towering spire that dominates the streetscape. If you’re in Ho Chi Minh City and enjoy architecture, photography, or historical landmarks, this is one spot you shouldn’t miss.

Pastel pink, elegant, and gently charming — this beautiful church is truly a sight to behold. Although I couldn’t go inside, its exterior alone is worth the visit. You can’t help but feel the unique charm and sense of style that is so distinctly Vietnamese.

Beautiful pink color vintage church. We can pray in front of Holy Mary at front of the church. There is a shop that sell many beautiful rosary. While waiting time to open at 2pm we can chill at coffee shop cross the church.

Beautiful pink Gothic cathedral inside and outside. There are reminders posted and their security personnels disallow tourists from taking photos or entry on weekends so that Catholic worshippers wont be disturbed.

When I first visited Ho Chi Minh City in 2019, this was one of the must visit attractions in the midst of a tight-schedule drinking trip. This return trip with my queen is a must to visit! We weren’t lucky to meet the timing to enter and have a look but it’s fun to visit. Something I didn’t notice in 2019 was the Jesus statue that resembles the one in Rio, Brazil and Vung Tau.

A church or a place for photoshoots? Unfortunately the church was not open when I got there, but thankfully there was still amazement because of the amount of photoshoots taking place. WEIRD! Good thing the church was not open, otherwise that would be desecrated, too.

Not the best water park I’ve ever visited but ok. It’s located in the city, easy to get there, it’s quite big and has enough slides. What I personally don’t like is that you have to pay for keeping your stuff each time you need your bags. It’s just 25,000 but anyway this is the first time I’ve experienced such a strange rule in the water park.👎🏽there is a food court, so if you’re hungry don’t worry you can find smth to eat and it’s cheap. In general, it’s ok just be careful on the slides, have fun and enjoy your time in Dam Sen Water Park🛝🌊

We had a great time at Đầm Sen Water Park! The place is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of shaded areas to relax. The food court was convenient, and there were tables and chairs available for resting between activities. The pools were in good condition, and we felt safe thanks to the many lifeguards on duty. A fun and comfortable spot for a family day out!

I took my son to the water park on Saturday and we had a great time! It wasn’t too busy, so he got to enjoy all the slides and pools without long waits. He had such a fun time that he didn’t want to leave — only the rain made us head home. The tickets cost 400k for both of us, which I found reasonable for the experience. Overall, a fun day out and definitely worth visiting with kids!

It's outdated and old. Over 140cm is adult and more ride options. Under 140cm there's only 2 slides they can do along with the kids pool and wave pool. Most of the adult slides, the panels are not smooth so when you go down on them, it rubs against your skin and hurts. Food and drinks were very affordable like a home cooked meal which was good.

It was so fun splashing around, l could resist this was the best ever waterpark in Vietnam. It is very fun with a wave pool l even laugh in joy, this brings me so much joy and happiness whenever l’m sad. This must be the best ever waterpark in the world. We invite our family to go there l liked it so much. The childhood waterpark feels like the old memories as a kid. I’m enjoying it in Vietnam. I’m sure this is the best ever waterpark. As time goes by l still spend so much hours swimming in laughter and joy. The waterslides are not dirty and fun to slide down because l want to go again and again. The only thing is the pool is a bit dirty. But l still liked it. Amazing work for this waterpark. I think this waterpark project turned into pieces of art. There was a warm area where you can hop in when you’re cold. It’s so warm and l loved how gentle and warm it’s like. So luxurious. Vines get a nature vibes l liked it. Keep it up.

We had the pleasure of visiting this fun waterpark for kids on a Friday afternoon in July. My kids are 6-9 and they really enjoyed the tidal wave pool and kiddie pool. There's a lazy river, too, but requires adult to go with. Overall, the kids had a blast and there are chairs everywhere to sit and get some shade even on a busy weekend. You can bring your own water and food if you want, since they don't check.

One of the oldest temple in Saigon. Not well maintained. Only the roof and the wooden columns are still authentic. Wall color not nice anymore. Still worth a visit.

It is a peaceful place to visit. The temple has many beautiful Buddhist statues and colorful architecture. Locals come here to worship Buddha and connect with the divine. There is no entry fee, but you need to pay for parking. A calm and spiritual spot worth visiting. A moderate dress code to be followed covering knees and shoulder.

Tho a little further outside the city centre, it is a nice Buddhist complex of pagoda, temple and statues, you can walk up the pagoda for very ncie views, I guess cuz of the location it was very empty & peaceful giving u plenty of space to discover the place

This is an interesting temple complex well worth a look and you can walk to the top of the tower for a stunning view of the city from the terrace. You have to scramble through a low window to get to the terrace so not for the feint hearted but the views are great

I have a very negative impression of Giac Lam Pagoda after witnessing firsthand that the pagoda called on people who capture stray dogs and poison stray cats to sell them for meat. This is an act of animal cruelty. Such a barbaric act completely contradicts the Buddhist philosophy of Compassion and Wisdom. Merely for the sake of keeping the temple grounds clean, Giac Lam Pagoda and some of its followers did not hesitate to contact traders who specialize in catching dogs and cats. This makes me question how they can preach about “releasing animals to accumulate merit” or the philosophy that “all beings are equal,” while secretly having innocent animals like stray dogs and cats killed. I hope everyone can join hands to prevent such heartbreaking incidents from happening again.

Landmark 81 is a shopping mall building with observatory deck at the top floor located in the residential apartment complex. There is a nice crossing bridge that would give you a good photos spot with Landmark 81 building in the background. The view from the top is amazing! It's look just like a map from the top and you can see the city really well in all directions which is fantastic. There was this district 9 that look like an inland island which was very interesting! We visited during mid afternoon on Friday and it was fairly quiet and only a couple people in the queue to buy the tickets. The outdoor section has a nice little walk but if you want to go up the top bridge then you need to wear a harness 😂 Definitely a nice activity to do in Saigon!

After finding the ticket booth in B1 of the building, a lift up to 79th floor. It was a reasonable clear day so the views were amazing. There are 3 floors of views, and a small outdoor viewing platform. There is a restaurant and you can claim your complimentary drink. The VR game was short but thrilling. Do not do it if you are afraid of heights.

Very nice view! We can see all of Saigon from up there and if you’re lucky you’ll get to see the sunset and the building lights turning on. Not that pricey for tourists and you have 2 activities : - a picture - a VR game (a bit laggy but still fun and do not be afraid of heights) It’s a great experience overall!

Beautiful panoramic view of Saigon. We went around lunchtime on a Sunday in a clear day, it wasn’t busy. The ticket prices are higher over the weekend, bought ours on Klook. The vr experience is not worth the extra cost.

There's great views from lvl 76 but could do with a bit of decorating instead of cold concrete walls. In general Landmark is extremely luxurious nice hotel and restaurants.Very nice place. Lots to do there.

Fun street with plenty of entertainment, mostly bars, but also massages and various services. Would be more fun if the music wasn't so loud, the places are competing the be the loudest and they all are above recommended levels for safety. Except that plenty of seating spots, in the middle of the street you'll find the cheapest places, and at the extremities the largest fun ones. Food is generally more expensive and lower quality than elsewhere, so you might be better just coming to the street for drinks.

It comes to life at night. It’s a famous, fun, and vibrant place for some, though too loud for others. There are lots of bars, cafés, and restaurants along this street, each playing their own loud music. You can choose to go inside one of these establishments or simply sit out front. If you don’t like the smell of cigarettes or people dancing on stage, then this might not be the place for you. You could just pass by, take in the atmosphere briefly, snap some photos, and move on. But if you enjoy smoking, drinking, and are looking for a lively, worldly experience, then this is a great place to visit.

This road is just as lively as Khao San Road in Bangkok! The whole street comes alive with a party vibe that lasts all night long. We had an absolute blast hopping from one bar to another. I always thought Vietnam was a more conservative place, but seeing this road really shows off its fun and vibrant side. It feels like a unique spot that gives tourists a taste of a wilder side of Vietnam, different from what locals usually experience.

I ended up on this street while walking back to my hotel nearby. The atmosphere there was quite crazy! Lot of bars, live bands, dancers, restaurants and more! It very crowded and you might get harassed by people offering massage but they are not too insisting. If you enjoy drinking or just chill I would recommend this place but note that it is very loud!

The show was very interesting and full of different little short stories! The music and singing is not in the language we can understand but the movement of the puppets really give off great feel and telling the story! A lot of character and actions don't actually supposed to be in the water though. I love the fish dance the best! Look absolutely like a real fish splashing around. Definitely one of a must see for traditional art in Vietnam.

Was amazing. A must go. I dont think you can get this experience anywhere else in the world. Not even in Disneyland. It's a mix of culture, art and some wizardry.. how do they actually synchronise and perform flawlessly. I bought my ticket on Klook. Went there at 5.30. she asked me to come back at 6. So went to highland coffee right opposite. Thn went back at 6. Got a perfect seat. And enjoyed the show. 40mins is kinda long but the show is really entertaining. MUST GO.

We had front-row seats at the Saigon water puppet show and the view was fantastic! The theatre is small and cosy, which makes the whole experience feel really intimate. The show lasts around 45 minutes and we enjoyed every minute of it. There were loads of different puppets and charming short stories drawn from Vietnamese culture and everyday life. A really unique experience. Even got splashed once. Loads of fun- definitely visit!!

This is a must-do activity in Ho Chi Minh city. Absolutely delightful. The introduction to the show is in Vietnamese followed by English, but after that it is all Vietnamese talking and singing. However, that doesn't matter! You can get the gist of the stories from the action and even it you don't, watching the skills is worth the visit. Try and get seats closer to the front if possible. Front row may get splashed a little. You can book online or pay, cash only, at the venue.

We went to the Golden Dragon Puppet Theater to experience one of their shows. It can fill up quite quickly, but you can purchase tickets ahead of time to guarantee a seat. We showed up early, then grabbed some street food outside the theater while we waited for the show to start. Most of the audience were Western or Chinese tourists. While it seems few locals attend these days, it’s impressive that such a skilled troupe keeps the tradition alive. On your way in, you'll receive English-written brochures explaining the stories in the show. The theater is small, which means you should be able to see the puppets even if you are a few rows back. Still, sitting closer to the front nets a better view. The stage is decorated with a faux Vietnamese temple with a pool in front of it. On either side are places for the musicians to sit, who play traditional instruments during the show. Photography is allowed at the show, as long as there is no flash. But you should bear in mind how this might affect other people's experience. No one wants to be sat behind someone filming the whole show. The play is told in 17 acts, each with its own story. One act shows us agricultural life on the river, a glimpse into how traditional farmers would take advantage of the river to grow crops. Another act shows fishermen attempting to catch fish, a comedic segment where the fish elude and taunt the angler, catapulting themselves at their faces. One act shows a traditional boat race, giving a sense of movement down a long river despite the limited size of the stage. I particularly enjoyed the animal segments, as each animal became its own character. The water dragon, both hunting and being hunted, was one of the highlights of the show. Each act is accompanied by traditional music and song, performed by the band flanking the stage. They use drums, flutes, and even frog percussion instruments to create an atmosphere for each scene. The songs and voice acting are performed in Vietnamese. This might put some people off, but it's easy to understand from the context, and if you miss something, a quick glance at the guide helps. The puppeteers are remarkably skilled at expressing emotions through the puppets. One might throw their arms up in anger, another trembling with fear before fleeing a dragon. I thought briefly about how the puppets were controlled, and imagined they were under the water holding their breath for the duration of the show. Of course, this isn't how they actually do it. They stand behind the stage, waist-deep in water, and manipulate the puppets with long rods. I initially thought the water would be a gimmick, but it’s central to the storytelling. The puppeteers skillfully use the water to hide control mechanisms and create the illusion of boats and animals floating freely on the river stage. The final act is the Dance of the Four Holy Animals, featuring the Dragon of the east that  embodies power, prosperity, and good luck; the Unicorn of the west that symbolises peace, good fortune, and sometimes learning; the Turtle of the north symbolising wisdom, longevity, and perseverance, and the Phoenix of the south representing virtue and grace. These are meanings rooted in Vietnamese myth and folklore. Some people might find parts of the show repetitive, especially as it nears the end. But each show lasts only 50 minutes, so it doesn't drag on too long for people who find they don't enjoy it as much as they expected. The show ended and the actors bow and accept their applause. This is definitely an entertaining way to spend an afternoon and learn a little about traditional Vietnamese puppetry. Would I go again? Probably only if I’m with someone new to Vietnam, but as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, it’s hard to beat.

A great cultural experience! This is some very clever and very artistic puppetry complete with comedy. We got front row seats and it was fantastic. 16 acts over a 45 minute show. Well worth the money.

Tour guide brought us here for a different aspect of the local temples. You will have to remove your footwear to enter and be split accordingly to gender. The females will enter by the stairwell on the left whilst the males will enter by the stairwell on the right. Devotes would dress in white.

Eclectic and charming place. Truly fusion religion. They even worship Victor Hugo as a diety here. I wonder if Neil Gaiman had this place in mind when he wrote The Graveyard Book and one of the ghouls in the story was The Author Victor Hugo....

Well worth the pilgrimage from the centre of town, you will be rewarded with beautifully decorated rooms and halls, warm hospitality and an insight into this unusual and special religion; unique to Vietnam. Remember to wear long trousers or ask for a robe, and remove your shoes. Women use the left stair, men use the right. Enjoy the beautiful decorations and make sure to visit the towers at the top.

What an incredible experience! I found a staff member who invited me to look around the building. There were no signs so I didn't understand the history of the building, but I was blown away by the colours, concepts and craftsmanship. I was the only one in all five levels of the temple. It was wonderful to take 15 mins and just sit in the main room and just take it all in.

A congregant took us to view the prayer halls upstairs. Really interesting and beautiful Cao Dai temple.

The only impression I’ve is: it’s another site in Saigon that used Chee Hsin tiles (QX #113b/163b) We stop at this temple - Chua Ba thien hau after the wild ride in Saigon. It's a Chinese-style temple, deified Chinese Goddess of Sea (Mazu 妈祖) Lin Mooning (林默娘) on the busy Nguyễn Trãi Street in the Cholon ("Chinatown"), in District 5 (or 7?). It was built in 1760 by a group of Cantonese. Again, many young girls or couples are dressed up for photos.

Very cool! I went at 5:45 so when it was still light and then stayed till it got dark. There’s not anything overly that interesting to look at honestly. I mean the best part in my opinion is the bridge because it lights up in different colours at night time. But it Is always cool to see a city from up above! And they have a history of the area and a list of the tall buildings around the world.

Another good observatory deck in Saigon, a bit different to Landmark 81 but still good. I keep getting trick because when you see this building from the distance, you can see the edge coming out of the building and I somehow assume that the Saigon Skydeck has that outdoor part you can go out onto. The Saigon Skydeck observatory area is fully enclosed inside the glass. Free binoculars available around the viewing floor is good! I find the list of tall buildings around the world that rated by design very interesting! A little gallery about fashion with small screen in the dark room if you are interested to watch. The little art made from tooth stick were super impressive too! Beautiful city skyline just as the sky getting dark. Too cloudy to see the sun set 😶‍🌫️🫥 on the day we went.

This is a lovely way to see the city of Saigon with 360 degree views over the river and cityscape. The viewing area is air conditioned and enclosed. One reaches it via a lift. It is 49 floors up and the highest point in Saigon, situated in the Bitexco financial tower. It cost us VND240 per adult. Use the bathroom before going up,there are many in the tower on the way up as there aren’t any at the top. On the downside if you are wanting to take photos 2 things detract from that. The first is the bright lights of the information panels and shopping areas reflect on the glass obstructing your image. The second is the glass is dirty in many areas from visitors touching it.

I visited this place during my trip to Vietnam. Spend about 2 hours in there reading all the information on the tablet, taking videos and photos and looking at places using the scopes available for free. A great place to get a 360 degree view of the city. We arrived just prior to sunset and stayed to see the lights come on which is spectacular. Unfortunately the souvenir shop and other lights reflect on the glass when photographing. There is alot of information about the tallest buildings of the world as well as the history of the building. Staff are very professional who run this. This is a must see when in Saigon.

We booked our tickets online, but at the reception the staff first said they didn’t recognize the provider and couldn’t scan our QR code. This caused some unnecessary hassle, and in the end they simply scanned the same QR code and it worked. After that, everything went smoothly: the elevator ride up was quick, and from the observation deck you get a 360° view over Ho Chi Minh City. The view was beautiful, especially at sunset, with floor-to-ceiling windows giving a wide perspective. The only drawback was the strong reflections from the interior lights on the glass, which made photos and videos difficult. The price is high for Vietnam, but the view makes it worth it.

At the gate we were told there is a blackout and some of the rides aren't in use and so apparently they couldn't sell us tickets for the whole park and all it's attractions. So we bought adult tickets for 220k/person, including a one-time trip in a train, access to a fruit farm (the ticket said "produce", but you'd have to pay more for food or beverages and access to crocodile park. All rides require additional tickets that were 30-50k/person. Waterpark opened at 1pm, even though the park opened at 8am. Waterpark would have also required an additional tickets. Neither ATM outside the park was working and of course there are no ATMs inside and all of the tickets must be paid in cash. Frankly the rides were disappointing. Also we found the crocodile section hideous - all other animals except crocodiles were cramped together in small cages, usually with nothing to play with. It was the saddest zoo I've ever seen. The decor and the ambiance of the park was much nicer. I really enjoyed the oriental themed decor. Restrooms are clean and easy to find.

Please be aware that most attractions are extra cost (100-200 dong) if a general ticket is purchased (about 600 dong) we spent half a day here. The new metro train was super easy to navigate. Suoi Tien is easy walking distance from train station.

Suoi Tien is full of color, fun, and great vibes! The dragon statues, golden temples, and giant mountain face are incredible. The water park is super exciting — perfect for a hot sunny day!

It was much cleaner than when we were here 15 years ago. Modern theme park. However, the ticket prices for individual attractions are quite high for an average local family outing.

Out of body experience! Fan of the sculptures and animatronics around the theme park. Feels like an 80’s asian b-movie. Also educational on topic of buddhism and Vietnamese culture.

We went on a rainy day in Late October and we got drenched. All the rides were shut so we made our own fun doing the really corny ghost ride type attractions. They were very dark, very run down, every where was flooding. There was construction and trucks driving around. We ate some chips and fried prawns and gave the tails to some cats! I had a lovely day event though the rain was belting down. I didn't appreciate that we had to pay to see things that should be included in price...

Very beautiful Hindu Goddess Temple, near to most tourist places. we were on our way walking to Ben thanh market, when we chanced upon this Temple and were surprised to see it here. Priest and most worshippers were localites. TV was playing God Shiva Kedarnath hymns. Thankful that on our last day in Vietnam, we could visit and pray in this Temple.

We had the chance to visit two beautiful Hindu temples in Ho Chi Minh City — the Sri Thendayuthapani Temple (Chùa Ấn Giáo) and the Mariamman Temple (Đền thờ Bà Mariamman). Both have deep roots in South Indian culture and tradition, and stepping inside felt like a little piece of home. It was heartwarming to hear Tamil devotional songs playing in the background and to meet many South Indians living here. What touched me most was seeing local Vietnamese devotees offering their prayers with such respect and reverence. Mariamman Temple is a famous spiritual place with a peaceful space and beautiful design. I always feel calm and lucky when I pray here. However, the pavement in front of the temple is sometimes messy, which can make visitors a bit uncomfortable. If this area is cleaner, the temple will be even more attractive.

This street food market is a gem! It’s clean and offers a fantastic variety of food options, including Thai, Indian, and Vietnamese cuisines, plus a range of drinks. We tried some traditional Vietnamese dishes this time, which were decent but not outstanding. The highlight was the coconut ice cream—absolutely delicious, though a bit pricey at 120k. Overall, a great spot for diverse and tasty street food!

Before you smirk and say it's a tourist trap, let me attempt to stick my neck out. I came to Ben Nghe for one thing and one thing only. Two words, xoi chien. Banh Cuon's xoi chien is the only one within walking distance from my hotel and I simply had to have xo chien the moment I arrived. Imagine this. Sticky rice fried till golden and crispy. For all of you who love the burnt rice at the bottom of claypot chicken rice, this is the bees knees ! Wait, that's not all. Imagine a savory filling of minced pork, chives and a quail egg to tickle your fancy. My only regret is that I could only fit one piece. I mean, definitely worth the risk to life and limb to cross a busy HCM street just to taste it!! Now that you've gotten over your hang up about tourist traps, there's other stuff also lah. I'm a sucker for dry noodles and I thought the Bun Tron Bo at the Wrap and Roll stall was pretty decent too. This is a dish that is colorful both in terms of visual perspective and texture. You have the softness of the noodle and the crunch of the peanut and cucumber, texture wise. Make sure to toss the the ingredients together to reveal a kaleidescope of color. The light oily dressing coats the whole ensemble with a balanced mixture of sweet, savory ,sour and spicy. Taste explosion! If you're not sure what you feel like eating, it's always better to go to a place with plenty of options and let your eyes do the decision making. That's what makes this place work. This has all the trappings of a tourists trap so my neck is exposed. It's got a guy who offers a napkin after you finish your meal. Everything is well sign posted. Dishes are cleared ASAP. The atmosphere was amazing! So many representations of Vietnamese and Asian culture foods here. Open late so you can get some food all night long. Would like to commend the live band that was playing on Saturday night. The singer was absolutely belting out the sounds and was really impressive. The food speaks for itself. Well seasoned and great portions. I had the Banh Mi, Banh xeo, strawberry smoothie and the beef pho rolls. If you come here and you have allergies to food. Make your best judgement as they say they have gluten in everything but I’m not sure they full understand what gluten is.

Lots of seating and def a more tourist spot but seems safe to eat at and the food is good, just expect to pay more as it’s a tourist spot. There are staff cleaning and clearing tables quickly and provide you with cutlery. Very clean building with lots of extra seating upstairs but the breeze is downstairs by the front area.

I recommend this to those first time who has no idea where to it. A bit pricey than the ones on the street but it gives you a comfort while dining. Lots of choices from different stalls and all are freshly cooked upon order. Accessible place too. Open until 12mn. 👏🤤🍻

Very crowded place and various types of restaurants, night club and drinking bar. It is very convenience for traveler who wants to relax and have some beers. However, don’t book the hotel on bui vien street because you will feel the terrible noisy that wakes you up for whole night. Be aware of stealing and massage rip-off, always keep your phone and purse within eye contact. If you are first comer, you must come here to feel the true HCM night! 🎉

A hidden gem next to the Saigon Post Office Right beside the Saigon Post Office, you'll find this charming book street that's honestly such a pleasant surprise. It's a short alley packed with bookstores, cafes, art shops, and toy stores - something for everyone regardless of age. Even though the street isn't very long, you'll want to stop at every single shop. There's so much to see - books from local and international publishers, notebooks, sketchbooks, and all kinds of art. One thing that really caught my eye was the paper art cards. They're super unique and would make perfect gifts. The cafes along the street are great for taking a break. Grab a coffee or juice, have a snack, and just people-watch. There are also benches scattered throughout if you need to rest your feet. Each store has its own personality, so take your time and pay attention to the small details. You'll definitely find something special. It's also an excellent spot to pick up souvenirs that aren't the typical tourist stuff. If you enjoy browsing books, art, and cozy street vibes, don't skip this place. You'll fall in love with it.

The book street here is really nice, but most tourists visit just to take photos. If you want a good picture, I recommend going early in the morning when it’s not crowded. Book street was great. They had an expo about the cranes (birds) and getting some awareness out for them. There were university students helping and asking questions and taking photos of people engaging with the expo. The photographer of the expo was also there for questions. My wife and I got our photo taken by the students it was great. We also brought a book about Vietnam and its places from north to south. We’ll have it on our coffee table so we can show people where we visited and reference places we didn’t take photos of. Also recommend coming when it’s cooler. Theres not a lot of airflow through the street and shops and it was a hot day when we went.

Today my girlfriend and I brought my kids and mom to Ho Chi Minh City’s Book Street, and it turned out to be such a pleasant little outing. Visiting the OG Pasteur Street Craft Beer in Ho Chi Minh City was actually not on our list during the transit back from Vung Tau to HCMC. However, while checking out the vicinity after dropping off close to Takashimaya HCMC, Kate was sharp in noticing that there’s an actual Pasteur Street nearby on Google Maps and upon closer inspection, there it was – Pasteur Street Craft Beer! Having visited one of its outlet previously in Hanoi, it was a thrill for us to visit the Original (OG) Pasteur Street Craft Beer on Pasteur Street in Ho Chi Minh City! As it was rather hot when we visited, we started the session with Jasmine IPA (115k VND) and Session IPA (99k VND). Both tasted as great and refreshing as we remembered it. Love the Jasmine IPA with its floral fragrance – the beer that kickstarted the journey for Pasteur Street Craft Beer. Thereafter, Kate wanted to try out the Stouts and we wanted to order both the Irish Stout (99k VND) and Cyclo Stout (165k VND). A fantastic craft beer spot in the city. Relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff, and a great selection of beers ranging from fruity to hoppy. The bar has a really cool interior and several levels, including a rooftop terrace. Excellent value for money.

This is the second time I've been here, the cafe is on the 3rd floor, up the stairs. You should try smoked cheese and buffalo jerky. There are many types of beer here, you can be confused to choose. Unfortunately, the view is only a building. Overall wasn't bad at all.

The best banh mi place I had while exploring Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City! Its pricier than most banh mi in the city but its worth is. The bread amazing,meat cuts thick, pate delicious. The banh mi is huge. I ate half for lunch and ate the other half for dinner.

From Melbourne, which already has a pretty strong banh mi game, I had to give this spot a try after seeing it hyped all over social media. Tried the mixed ham banh mi — I’ve never seen one packed with this much meat before, it was absolutely loaded. Flavour-wise though, it didn’t quite hit for me. It was a bit too full-on and the balance just wasn’t there. They give you salad on the side to add into the banh mi, which helps freshen it up, but the bread didn’t have that signature crisp I look for. Probably because they’re pumping them out so fast, so the consistency can vary — still decent overall though. Queued up for about 10 minutes — they’re efficient and move quick. The banh mi itself is massive, easily shareable between two people. Towards the end, the texture got a bit weird on mine, might’ve just been my roll, but I wasn’t a fan. Definitely could’ve used more chilli or a spice kick. For around $5, you can’t really complain, but coming from Melbourne’s already strong banh mi scene, I was expecting a bit more given the hype.

Famous bánh mì spot in HCM — and the sandwiches are huge! The shop runs almost like a mini factory, with staff constantly assembling bánh mì. A loaded pork-and-ham one costs 75,000 VND. The pickles and garnishes are given separately for you to add yourself. From what I could tell, it’s takeaway only. The baguette was nicely crunchy, though the size made it a bit hard to eat — it would probably be even better if it were about a third smaller. The meats blended well and the pâté was tasty. I added all the garnishes, including the chillies, and it came together nicely. It’s clearly a well-known spot in HCM, with queues outside and a steady stream of Grab drivers picking up orders. Worth trying if you’re in the area, but I’m not sure I’d make a special trip for it. There are so many bánh mì options in the city, and plenty of them are also very good.

I visited Banh Mi Huynh Hoa for the first time after seeing all the hype on Social Media. The sandwich costs 73,000 VND and is definitely huge and generously filled. For my taste, though, it was too generously filled, there was so much pâté and mayonnaise that it squeezed out of the bread with every bite. The shop had a good idea by packing the herbs and vegetables separately to keep the bread from getting soggy during transport, but unfortunately this creates an extreme amount of plastic waste since every single ingredient comes in its own little bag. A more sustainable alternative would really make sense here. Flavor-wise, the banh mi was okay, but definitely not worth the hype. I’ve had much better banh mi‘s in Saigon since then.

Tourist spot that is always packed. Banh mi is a little on the pricier side at around 75k but these monstrosity of a Sammie is basically 3 meals. All though the lines are long, the service is quick as they only make 1 style of sandwich. Apparently this is one of the 2 most popular spots in Saigon and they were both ex lovers but who knows. They make a good Sammie though.

Best Banh Mi I’ve had. Just wish they had more options instead of only selling one type. It was always crowded when I came. There is a line for ordering and two lines for picking up food after ordering. The 2nd line is a couple steps more down the street and usually shorter. I special ordered mines with steamed pork only.

I travelled through Vietnam for three weeks. And this was the worst Bahn Mi I've eaten! Since it was described as 'the best', I gave it a chance. I have eaten better and cheaper than here while travelling. + Everything is thrown on a pile? Vegetables are wrapped in plastic... Not a good experience for me.

Extremely peaceful temple with awesome amounts of figurines from the late 1700’s. I love this temple for the serene and peaceful feeling. No fancy remodeling. Don’t forget to look up and too the sides. Fantastic place. Took some friends to show them the location while they were in town.

This is a beautiful Buddhist temple with impressive architecture. Entry is free and it’s mainly a place for locals to worship, so the atmosphere feels peaceful and authentic. There is a parking space in front of the temple for two-wheelers (with parking charges). For four-wheelers, there isn’t direct parking, so you may need to park a little far away. There is a modest dress code, shoulders and knees should be covered when visiting.

Such a peaceful place to visit. You can buy incense for offerings and it is beautiful to see the spiralling incense sticks being hung up on the ceiling of the temple. It is beautifully made with inscriptions, lacquered pillars, ceramics and more. A very peaceful vibe and you would want to spend some time here. I went in the morning at 7 am.

A very old and famous temple at the center of District 5. It's famous for its vibes and the Incense. I was there early in the morning and there was almost no one there. It was quiet and I liked the atmosphere there a lot. Every corner was unique and nostalgic

Tuệ Thành Assembly Hall, commonly known as the Thien Hau Temple or the Lady Temple of Cho Lon, is a place of worship dedicated to the Goddess Thien Hau. It is located at 710 Nguyen Trai Street, Cho Lon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. This temple is one of the oldest places of worship established by the Chinese community in the former Cho Lon area.

Visited in August recently. Quite a large temple with interesting carvings and motifs on the wall and roofs.

Nice views. Wasn’t too busy when I was there so service was quick and efficient. Staff is very nice. I think the music could have been a bit better or just wasn’t my style of music. Beer options could also be a bit better. The menu is also not very vegetarian friendly. It would be good if the chips were not cooked in beef tallow.

Great food: Dips were out of the world. The smashed beef burger was amazing. Drinks and shooters were great as well. The only thing is the slow service (and we felt that was better on the tables that had caucasians), and bad experience on the payment time - the manager said they spilled beer on the POS machine and we can only pay by cash. We had hard time to scramble cash for almost one million per person! The view makes it worth visiting though.

FITO Museum is Vietnam’s first private museum dedicated to traditional medicine. Set in a beautifully crafted traditional-style house, it features over 3,000 artifacts like herbal tools, ancient texts, and old pharmacy items. Visitors can explore serene wooden interiors, learn about famous Vietnamese physicians, and even join educational activities. It’s a peaceful and fascinating stop for anyone curious about Vietnam’s healing traditions and cultural heritage.

The only star is for the museum itself. However, I saw huge discrepancies in the way my family was treated and how 2 other guys (also European) were treated. While we were just handed out some plastic pamphlets explaining in short the history of the Vietnamese tradition medicine, the other two guys got a free of charge guided tour (it was free as I went to ask them whether they had paid for it) by one of the ladies working in the museum. The guy that sold us the tickets tucked us in a dark room and played a movie about the traditional Vietnamese medicine. After this he gave us the pamphlets and left us on our own. No introduction whatsoever. I followed a bit with the other two guys and confronted the guide regarding the tour we have not been offered and she just mumbled back that it depends on the group?! What group? They were 2 single guys and I came with my husband and daughter. So families are considered a burden for their staff and a huge responsibility if they are not even offered the option of having the tour. The lady went out of her way regarding her tour with the guys: so much that she was telling them how to stand and where to look in order to take their perfect pictures. Am I missing something here? Were they influencers this place was desperately needing in order to attract a crowd? So to sum it up: we paid 180 000 per adult and 90 000 for the 6 years old child, we were offered each one cup of free tea at the end of the tour and we were given plastic pamphlets explaining the history of the place. Nothing more for this high price. This in the Western world is clearly called discrimination. I came because I was sure there was at least one activity for the kids - obviously the same activity was very popular for adults too: to change clothes into the traditional Vietnamese ones and pretend to be an old days pharmacist mixing herbs and making medicines. We had to specifically go and ask our supposedly dedicated guide about it- he simply showed into the direction where the place in question was located, without any further explanation. Kindly re-consider bringing kids here as your “group” will automatically be a low priority in the eyes of their staff. Note: ONLY CASH accepted! It's got 6 levels of medicinal herbs history to share so beautiful sure to take your time here. You'll enjoy a cup of tea when you finish your self tour too

This should be in a must-visit places in Saigon for travellers. It documented years history of Vietnamese medicine in multi-floor galleries plus they allowed us to touch the artifacts and borrow costumes for a complete feel and look of the period.

If you have already taken a look at another popular muúeums in HCM city, you should take a visit to this place. You can learn either from the Vnese medical history or have some great portrait pictures as the decors and exhibits are beautiful.

The tour was very informative even if it was clear at the end that they were selling you their products. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to learn more about eastern medicine from the lens of Vietnam.

🌸 A truly beautiful experience at this peaceful pagoda, which I had the chance to visit with two friends from France. I come here sometimes to pray for my sister. Today while doing so, I explained to my friends a bit about the local culture and the Buddhist rituals. They were deeply moved by the beauty of the place — the incense, the offerings, and the calm, spiritual atmosphere. It’s a simple Buddhist temple, without the grandness and majesty, it brings me closer to Buddhas and Guan Yin. We actually spoke to a Monk from China who speaks very well Mandarin, sharing about the to-do’s and some background. We went to the back of the temple and paid respect to the reverends of the past. We went on to look for little Mi Le Fous, happy buddhas.

Beautifully peaceful temple with gardens and many statues and monuments. A towering pagoda looks over the grounds and completes the Buddhist architecture wonderfully. The temple was built in 1958, and was the centre of Buddhist activism in the early 1960s. Home to Thich Quang Duc, the heroic monk that gave his life in protest of the persecution of Bhuddists by the Sth Vietnamese government. His monument is nearby the temple, and a visit to both is absolutely essential.

Xa Loi Pagoda (1956) in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, is the headquarters of Buddhism in southern Vietnam. It was raided by government forces in August 1963 in response to Buddhist civil rights protests.

We had opportunity to visit this place before leaving Ho Chi Minh City just only 2 hours ago. I don’t hesitate to give you more information about this nice place for traveling.
