Colmans Seafood Temple is a well-known and beautifully located restaurant in Newcastle, offering stunning seafront views and a menu rich in fresh fish, oysters, prawns, and mussels. One of the standout features is the panoramic layout, windows surround the space so even those seated centrally can enjoy the coastal scenery, which adds a lovely touch to the dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were generally friendly. We ordered the fried cod and grilled haddock, both of which were cooked to perfection and full of flavour. While the overall experience was enjoyable, there were a couple of areas that could be improved. The restaurant was quite busy during our visit, and understandably, the pace of service reflected that. However, in the rush, a few moments of carelessness occurred, such as oyster juice being spilled on the table during dish clearing. Additionally, although the venue states that restrooms are checked hourly, the condition of the male toilets during our visit suggested otherwise. Colmans clearly has a lot going for it, and the team works hard to deliver a memorable experience. With a bit more attention to detail during peak times, it could truly live up to its reputatons.

Not as good as it thinks it is. We ate off the £24 for two course menu. Soft shell crab taco with spicy mayo. So much heat you could not taste the salad or the crab. Same with the Ndula mussels. 6 mussels out of shell and a huge wedge of bread but so much heat no taste of anything else. The fish and chips were OK. Average, mediocre. Certainly had far better on this coast in the past. But the baby Dover sole was excellent. We'd advise booking if you want to try it.

This restaurant is amazing! The food, atmosphere and service were fabulous ! We went here for a tea-time anniversary meal and were greeted with a lovely card, and a welcoming arrival. The food and drink is on the pricey side, but so worth it for the freshness and how amazing it was. Everything was cooked so lovely and we were happy from start to finish. For day to day dining, it wouldn’t be ideal, but for special occasions and fine dining it’s highly recommended 👌

Recommended to me because I am originally from the North East of England. Overpriced & overrated to be honest. A “small” Cod & Chips with a bottle of filtered tap water was £17 quid. The fish is nicely cooked with a nice batter, plus the tartar sauce they serve is nice. The chips are mediocre to poor I’m afraid. I went on a lunchtime just after they opened. The reception reacted like I was asking for the earth, when I asked for a single table by the window so I could look out to sea. It was granted after what seemed a bit of a struggle for a simple arrangement. I have been to MUCH better for much cheaper prices along the North East coastline. The Coleman’s regular Fish & Chip Restaurant on Ocean Road South Shields were just rude & abrupt when I asked for a single table by the window there. They said those tables were only for four people, but they could put me with a table in the back room on my own. I thought this was disgraceful, so I said I wouldn’t bother & hence going to the Seafood Temple instead. Both poor recommendations in my opinion. I live in Southern California now but originate North Shields - England & know South Shields very well. I look forward to my Fish & Chips when I visit the UK. This was very disappointing. I’ll be eating at some good ones I know well on the North side of the Tyne on the coast before I head back to California. I won’t be going to either of these again unless they buck up!

What can I say, this place is the bees knee's. We travelled from Hull and it was well worth it. The oysters were amazing and the crab starter was just perfect. For mains I had the cod and the most fantastic chips. The batter on the fish was so crispy and light and it was cooked to perfection. My husband had the haddock and the amazing chips and the haddock was enormous we shared a curry sauce and he had a stottie cake. It was one of the best meals we have ever had and well worth the 130 mile journey. Thanks to Kalani for the review. Can't wait to come back

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in months. We had a bunch of starters to try a bit of everything, but the standouts were the scallops with orzo and crispy Serrano ham, the king prawns in garlic and parsley butter, and the oysters which were MEATY. Jill is a wonderful host, who kept us entertained and offered great recommendations. Will be back!

Lovely food, great restaurant with a bow front looking over towards the sea, almost like the front of a ship. Very fresh seafood, expensive but excellent quality. Best to book as very busy. Parking is in public car park next to the restaurant on the seafront. Had oysters, lobster, fish and chips, and fishcakes. All cooked to order. Home made raspberry lemonade was very good too.

Amazing food. Huge portions. I had the sirloin steak. It came with Diane sauce, mushrooms, tomato, chips, salad and black pudding. It was perfectly cooked and really tasty. My husband had the parmo… he was heartbroken when it deafeated him and he couldn’t finish it. Special mention to the best chips ever!

I have visited the harbour twice, both for a full English. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is attentive and friendly. The value for money with portions and an included coffee (filtered) is welcome. I attended at 11:01, breakfasts finished at 11:00 and they accommodated me which is unusual these days. The first time I had a breakfast there it was faultless, and I expect is the norm, however as I attended a little late on this occasion one of the sausages was inedible, it had been stood for a while and was an over cooked. hard, crusty sausage the rest was lovely. Beans separate (which is important to my missus) and better on a full English imo.

From the moment I walked in I was made to feel welcome, the young girl acknowledged my egg allergy straight away and answered any questions I had, the chef came out to speak to me about the burger buns and told me he would give me the gluten free cibatta bread for my burger and showed me the ingredients. The cheese burger was absolutley lovely and so were the Cajun chips and fresh salad. My friend had a beef roast dinner and said it was delicious. The staff were so friendly and the chef asked if my meal was nice when I left. Really appreciate taking my allergy seriously,I will be back! Thankyou again!

Just been to the Harbour Lights in South Shields for our Sunday lunch and I have to say that we weren't disappointed. We enjoyed everything that we had on our plates and it was an absolute pleasure to sit down and have a meal that was tasty from start to finish. The helpings were massive and I couldn't even finish mine because there was so much on my plate but my husband and son managed there's with great delight. This will not be our last visit to the Harbour Lights and I, for one, can't wait until our next one. Fabulous all round. All the staff were very attentive and made you feel right at home. A big thank you to everyone.

Visited for a birthday Sunday lunch. It was busy but we had booked. Staff very friendly and super efficient. I had the rump of beef. Had better but was good. Loads of veggies. Very tasty. Yorkshire a bit cold but nice. Partner had the sea bass. Very good. Kids portion of mince and dumplings was big but she said it was really nice. Another member of party had the gammon. Loads on plate and thick. He said it was great. Staff brought out a cake we had brought in with a candle on it and sang happy birthday at the end. For the money they charge the food is really good and the staff are great. Would recommend 100%.

I came with a group of people to see this place... beautiful sea, beautiful beach. We wanted to have coffee... The lady behind the bar said, "No. No, there are too many of you. We can't make coffee. We only have one coffee machine. That's why we can't make it for you. It would take too long." She asked me, "You understand, it makes sense : You won't get coffee. It doesn't make sense to me. Three-quarters of the tables in the bar/restaurant were empty! We were there around 1 p.m., so not before closing time. I don't understand—it doesn't make sense to me." We also couldn't order any food. Because there are too many of us... does that make sense?

Came here for a nice dinner. safe to say the only thing good about this place is its coffee. Ordered the fish and chips which was alright. now for the fancy stuff... i ordered the garlic shrimp and prawn linguine. Might i just say i was served a shrimp in some mysterious liquid that vaguely tasted like garlic. the prawn linguine came in a sauce that was so soupy it might as well have been prawn noodle soup. both these dishes were incredibly oily and watery which doesn't even make sense because those two don't mix. unless that was their aim to emulsify it for a tasteless sauce. The only reason why i didn't give this 0 stars is because the location and the actual place is very nice. The view is amazing and being inside the restaurant is an incredible experience. I'd recommend to come here maybe just for a nice coffee trip, not for a dinner. Last but not least as i was entering the restaurant i was ATTACKED by a giant spider swinging on its webs. does no one clean these? isn't this supposed to be a nice place? 2 stars. 🙃

The location and concept of this restaurant are truly beautiful and promising. Unfortunately, every other aspect of our dining experience was deeply disappointing. ​We paid high prices and expected a corresponding level of service and quality. What we received was poor value characterized by several issues: ​Hygiene Issues: The tables and dishes were noticeably dirty, which is completely unacceptable, especially given the cost. ​Poor Service & Wait Times: The wait was excessively long. We ordered two children's portions but only one was delivered after a considerable delay. They cited a "misunderstanding," but the food quality was poor, and the children barely touched the single portion. ​Lack of Basic Amenities: There were no napkins provided on the table, and simple requests like extra sugar for the coffee were neglected. ​While the dessert was okay, paying premium prices and being expected to eat from dirty dishware is intolerable. This was our first and definitively our last visit.

I love it here, such an amazing place. Food is fantastic, service is great and they've got Hawkstone on draught. Darren, the guy running the place last night couldn't have done more for us and was so accommodating, full of knowledge and joined in with our conversations with our family from out of town.

Between errands I happened to drive by the Marsden Grotto - a local legendary landmark that I spent time at back in the 70's & 80's. From outside, it's exactly as it was back then, with the same slow lift down to the restaurant that overlooks a pretty beach. The lift is only for customers & patrons, otherwise beach access is via the steep winding stairs. This is the only place in the UK with a restaurant inside a cliff, and it's so pretty inside. I had been hoping for a breakfast, but unfortunately they only start serving hot food from 12.00, and I'd arrived at 10 am. My options were a cheese scone or a blueberry muffin. The scone smell delicious, but it wasn't very cheesy. However, the view more than made up for it and I was happy to sit and remember some happy childhood times.

Over priced as we found all mains over £20. Fish and chips around £21, soggy batter and chips that just taste like oil. Signature jack the blaster burger resembles a double cheese burger from McDonald’s served with frozen pale fries. Chicken wrap had 3 small strips of breaded chicken inside a huge wrap drenched in sauce. Salt and pepper shakers empty on the table, Shows laziness and lack of care by management. The worst part for me is the mandatory 4hour car parking charge of £3 even though we were there under an hour is a joke! No phone signal assuming because of the location but no WiFi either? Very strange. Can’t comment on the service as there is none, Order food and pay at the bar. I have since looked at reviews and something really should be done by the people who expect to earn a livelihood from this business because I’m afraid it doesn’t look good for you. It was very very quiet on a Friday evening. Being the only table in the restaurant area. I certainly won’t be back and by the sound of the other reviews not many other people will be either. Such a shame! The place has the potential but something (quite a lot) needs to be changed. I’ll keep an eye out for a change in management.

Great place - very unassuming from the street but this turned out to be a great find as somewhere to go out for tea with the family! Kids food was perfect - appreciate the kids menu being simple but with something for everyone! I had the lamb tagine - completely stunning - what I will say is that there are some attention to details that were missed leaving us feeling like this was a less than perfect experience - in terms of service - however the venue/food and staff were all great 👍🏽

Our first visit. Warmly welcomed. Good service. Busy place. Lots if choices on menu. Food was fresh, well presented and really good. Great cocktail menu too. A place you can be casual in or indeed dress for the occasion. Definitely somewhere we will revisit.

The good bits: Very generous portions and very yummy. I’m 52 years old and I couldn’t finish a soup + child’s portion of the Sunday roast pork dinner. Meat was moist and tasty and the gravy was spot on. Even got a generous portion of apple sauce and steamed veges. Staff was polite and helpful. Suggestion for improvement: When one / some diners in a group order starter / soup and the others opt to go straight for the main course, it would help to ask if those who order only main course would like their main course to be served right away, instead of them waiting for those who order starters to finish. Otherwise they are kept waiting until those who order starters / soup finish. Perhaps it’s an English restaurant custom but I prefer the North American approach where diners have a the option to get their main course right away. It was a bit embarrassing to realize halfway through my soup that my co-diners weren’t eating because they were waiting for me to finish my soup. :) Anyway.. excellent spot.

First time tried this place for my wife's birthday, stayed away from the 15 pound menu, as wanted to try the real food, not a fan. Starter garlic bread had MINT on!!!! Even managed to mess up potato skins, you could cut glass with them. Awful. Son's pasta swimming in oil, he will eat anything, but sickly, and left loads. My pizza had slices of steak on that jaws would have trouble eating, left half of it. Stay away, cost a fortune, could make better myself. Don't go. £89 pounds with soft drinks. Terrible.

First time visitor for my 60th birthday, staff are lovely and friendly. We got a lovely 3 course meal for £15! 2 x cocktails for £12. Excellent value for money and a pleasant atmosphere. Will definately be coming back 😀

I would have left a good review but seems your website is full of viruses when attempting to see if you have a menu, all you see are messages saying that my device is damaged or has 2 viruses. Well it hasn't as this is the only site that I have visited for local takeaways near me. My device wouldn't back out of your page it just kept on with the clean this clean that messages. I had to switch my device off to get out of your site. So I don't know of your food is nice or not so ill just browse some other shops instead and hopefully your site hasn't damaged my device in any way or I'll have to pay yous a visit.

Absolutely shambolic delivery service and luke warm tasteless food. Waited almost 2hrs for a delivery coming to almost £100 and when it arrived it was almost cold and incredibly bland. No menu available online. Utter shambles. Avoid delivery at all costs. Stay clear.

A great place with delicious, quality food. The staff are friendly and eager to please. Very cheap but still really high quality - amazing value for money! The food all tastes really fresh made tasty with amazing spices rather than just adding salt and sugar like some places. They can even cook custom orders not on the menu, so they clearly have a chef who knows what they're doing. Can't recommend this place enough to eat in or take out.

Lovely take away food. Decor and hospitality whilst waiting for the food to be cooked was great. Food was very tasty. Only 4 stars however as Madras was far too hot for what it should be. That said all food was cooked excellently and full of flavour and taste.

Once we had our food a member of staff checked on us in under 10 minutes ⏱️The wait time for each dish (Starter, main and dessert) to arrive perfect 💰£15-20/ pp. We decided to go for the Starter, main and dessert deal which came to a total of £33 (rounded)- just over £15 per person. ✅ A great price for the portion sizes and quality of the food! ⭕️Decor could do with a little update but the only improvement I would offer ❤️Would recommend to anyone deciding between which curry place to go on Ocean road :)

Tasty scammy. Got to watch these restaurants- asked for 1/2 pint- gave me 1 pint. Asked for £8.20 balti chicken- he said “chicken breast”- dunno- thought chicken- did not state breast is extra. Charged me £9. Food is ok but decor a bit grubby/ old. RETURNED AGAIN- chicken korma and boiled rice set meal. All hot and tasty. Added 80p to my bill and claimed it was chicked breast (despite NEVER asking me and the chicken is the same as the “normal”- just chicken nugget sized chunks). So WATCH IT !!!!!

I don’t even know if I can call what we got “service” — because they didn’t serve us, they disrespected us. From the moment we walked in, the so-called greeting was dripping with sarcasm, laced with racism, and even included the wildly inappropriate question of what religion we belong to. Absolutely unacceptable! One of the servers actually told us — with full confidence — that customer service depends on how he feels like providing it, not on how we’d like to be treated. According to him, customer service is his happiness, not the customer’s. When we asked about the restaurant’s speciality, he flat-out said, “There’s nothing special in this restaurant.” Really? That’s the kind of representation this place is proud of? When we pointed out that his behavior was making us unhappy, he didn’t care in the slightest. In fact, he seemed to enjoy arguing with us, mocking us, and making us uncomfortable. He was on a mission to prove just how offensive he could be, and he succeeded — if that’s even something to be proud of. We were a large group, and I can tell you this: he lost a big business that day, and judging by his smug attitude, he couldn’t care less. The management needs to seriously take a hard look at their hiring and training — because this employee is actively driving customers away. If you want to be insulted, mocked, and made to feel unwelcome, this is your place. If you expect basic respect and professionalism, stay far away.

One of the staff member was very rude and being racist. He started off by asking nationality and religion. When he came to take order, he was unpleasant. He was mocking how other customers eat. He was mocking what other people order. He refused to get our order. When we mentioned that we are unhappy about the service. He told that he is going to behave the way he wants, and if customers are unhappy, it is not his problem. And we decided to walk out from the restaurant and not eat there. I wish I knew the person’s name who served us. Will never step into this restaurant ever again. And I do not recommend it to others as well.

The food was delicious. Only £11.95 for a 5 course meal. I would highly recommend to anyone. The chicken jalfrezi was so so nice.

Was expecting it to be better than it was after reading reviews. The pictures on their Facebook page look a lot different to what I was served. The staff were really friendly hence why I rated this place higher than I should have. The two girls that were working had 10/10 customer service!! The wait for the food was very long, however I didn’t mind it as we had ordered a big starter. The food was extremely bland. The starter was mediocre. My main was actually pretty decent, however my partners was not. The chicken tasted like it had been boiled prior and just thrown in the sauce. If you are a food Connoisseur like myself you can tell the difference between chicken cooked in the sauce and boiled chicken thrown in dish. The chicken tasted awful 😣 I don’t think it’s acceptable for a dish that is named “Turkuisne special” was expecting better.

Excellent Turkish food. Polite employees and good value for money. If there was one downside it would be that the portions are huge, however the staff do encourage you to take home if you haven't finished everything

Worst takeaway I’ve ever had. Salt and Chilli prawns caked in batter - no flavour, no chilli, utterly terrible.

Ordered a salt and pepper chicken box and this is what I got. I phoned the shop and they said it was fried twice as well as another box being sent out at the same time and there was nothing they can do about it. Would not recommend!

I visited here for the first time with my family last month. As a big fan of Chinese food - it honestly was one of the best I've ever had! Everybody left feeling very full and happy with their meal, and on top of that... the waitress was lovely! She was smiley, cheerful and checked on us regularly or came straight over whenever we needed something. The portions were good for the prices as I overestimated what I was able to eat, and there was a lot of vegetarian alternatives. Vegetarian chicken/duck/etc is something that isn't very common in Chinese restaurants so thank you!

Best Chinese ever period I’ve ordered from them loads on food hub, Uber eats and just eat. Told them it’s my birthday if they want to surprise me and they did, fantastic chicken and even better service would recommend 10/10

Ordered the salt and pepper chips and the chilli and honey chicken and only a few bites of the chicken gave me horrid food poisoning. I’m currently sat up at 4am trying not to throw up/pass my guts. I’m so disappointed, I was happy at first about the early delivery but if it means I get undercooked/gamy chicken, maybe not.

Went there after the Great North Run '25 while waiting for the Metro. Really friendly and helpful staff. I had a chip butty and provided with curry sauce as a runner. Eventually the chef came out to take photos of my medal and so I got my chips for free. They were fantastic. I know some runners might pick a banana for recovery but Frydays's chips and staff were excellent.

Great place for quality fish and chips with reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and this is a great place for those who want Halal fish and chips. They offer tea and bread with butter with the fish and chips which is very filling. Quality ingredients, friendly staff and warm atmosphere.

This place is one of the best places to have Fish n Chips. Each meal of fish n chips consists of a big piece of battered fried fish with lots of chips and mushy peas or tartar sauce. You will get a complementary tea and bread butter. It is quite cheap and well maintained with better service.

El Tio is one of my all time favourite restaurants in South Shields. The staff are very friendly, the food is amazing and the atmosphere and music is utter vibes. It makes me very happy. Very good prices too! I highly recommend the burritos & pasta. The garlic bread is lovely too. I’ve tried most items on the menu and everything is so delicious.

Friendly service, flavourful food! There are vegan options (vegan chicken and vegan cheese) but they aren’t listed, you’ll need to ask. Vegan enchiladas were delicious and medium spicy. They don’t take card payments, but there’s a cash machine outside Halifax about 5 minutes walk away.

We found this little gem of a restaurant last night, and it was just a brilliant experience from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble for the fantastic staff, and they made us feel so welcome, especially our 2 year old! They were amazing with her. As it was a Sunday night, it was quite quiet, but the atmosphere was still really lovely. Excellent choice of Mexican music at just the right volume, and great decor. Food came in good time, and it was all incredibly hot, fresh and so tasty. Can’t wait to use this restaurant much more often now we know it’s here! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I first visited Ocean Road almost 50 years ago. It was famous for Indian restaurants. My favourite Bengal has long gone and over the years there have been many here today gone tomorrow restaurants. Some good, many awful. Casta was recommended this Middle Eastern restaurant so six of us went. Two x two person starters( one hot and one cold) were very good and filling. Thus the mains though good were far too much! We needed doggie bags. We also got a cash discount. All in all very good but I still miss my old favourite.

First time at Kuzey. What took us so long. Best Turkish restaurant in the North East. Manager is a fantastically nice guy, so hospitable and friendly. We had the falafel and hummus and the kisir, for starters, both were delicious, served with fresh bread. Then for mains we had the lamb ribs and the chicken Shish, both served with pilaf rice and very fresh salad, all fantastic. All washed down with draught Efes. This will become a regular night out. Thanks for a great night.

First time here and thought it was good. The food was average however factor in the price and portion size it was a good experience. The Sucuk was a bit disappointing compared to others I'd had as it was a bit bland in taste and presentation, you dont get any sauce with it so had to order separate. The mixed grill was nice and was a big portion size. The place had nice decor and very clean. Staff were helpful.

Food was good, however felt pressured to leave, we was a little full, so asked for food to be packaged, but was only given the meat. Still charged full price. So was a bit disappointed with the service as staff were stood waiting for us to leave at 22.10 pm. Not a problem, but 90%of our meals was not in the package.

Really good Turkish restaurant. The hot mezze platter is highly recommended as a starter for two, packed with loads of flavours. The staff are friendly and attentive and I'll definitely be back.

We asked the sharing plate. Was nice and slightly different to other versions what always brings good vibes. They have also Turkish coffee and place is well taken care.

We had our first Sunday lunch on 9th March. Absolutely delicious. Beef was fabulous, and the stuffing was lovely too. They made a fuss of it being my birthday too, and was given the best chocolate brownie I have ever had. Will definitely be back...my new favourite place.

Visited a few times for drinks in the lovely bar area. I recently had a fantastic meal and can’t wait to come again. Service was fast, without being rushed, and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Food, service and atmosphere can’t be faulted at all. Visited here with friends on a busy Saturday evening and everything was 1st class. Such a shame I live in Kent and will have to wait a while to return.

We are local and dine here all the time. We love it! Always have a lovely meal, and although the wine selection is small (by the glass) it has some lovely wines on it. Amazing value that kids eat free from their own menu. The staff are always brilliant too. Always a fab singer on at the weekend too... We are so lucky to have this within walking distance! Love!

What a delightful little place. The food is amazing, the menu isn’t too big and the prices are very reasonable. We had Chicken Quesadilla, and Beef & pork kebab, washed down with a Camden Easy and a Mojito. Definitely return

A lovely little gem of a restaurant. The food was very good and the staff were all very friendly without being too intrusive. The olive starter is a good size portion, with a mixed of queen, stuffed and black olives. The birria lamb and beef kebab was a generous sized portion and the pistachio tres leches had a lovely delicate flavour.

I’ve had lunch here many times and it’s always been great but their Mexican tasting menu and drinks pairing was wonderful. Great service and every dish was brought out by the chef with a brief description of the ingredients and story behind the dish.

Visited on a weekday lunchtime. Nice variety on daytime menu, I had a burrito which was really good and massive. My wife also enjoyed her avocado on toast. Lovely place, the young lad who served us was absolutely brilliant, no messing about when bringing my pint over while my wife was still deciding what to order to drink. Really excellent, attentive service. Will definitely be back.

One of our restaurants in this area that we definitely always eat at is Colemans. Very tender fish that melts in your mouth and the delicious side dishes bring us here again (july 2024 and now 11. th july 2025) and again! great service!

Finally had my Lobster 🦞 😋 2 x daughters treat for father's day, and fantastic 👏 also had scallops, with chips and salad 🥗 washed down with a cold pint of Moretti, and it was to die for! Staff first class 👌 and lovely place. Plenty of parking adjacent, or across the road, and right on the sea front, so you can walk it off after!! You must go for the culinary experience 😁

Came to Coleman's for the first time. It's pretty hard to come to a family business that's been open for years in a seaside town and have a bad experience. Coleman's is a perineal fish and chips restaurant not to be missed. The portion sizes are huge and the food is great. The homemade tarter sauce is not to be missed. Highly recommend it.

Ocean Rd has been famous for takeaways for decades but you simply just visit South Shields for fish and chips! The competition is strong across the town but Colmans is the best, no question. You can sit down all civilised-like in the restaurant next door or you can grab takeaway and go sit on the beach. Whichever you chose you won't be disappointed and you can even find out which local boats landed the catch. Best fish and chips in South Shields!

Beautiful food and very hard working and polite staff! The waiter was working alone and made sure every table was seen to equally, Everyone received polite happy service and the food that came was an absolute treat! The starters were amazingly flavourful and came out perfect and rather quickly. The restaurant had quite a few people in before us so the main courses took a little more time to come out but it was worth the wait! The fish and the chicken dishes were ordered came out presented beautifully and the flavours were amazing I couldn’t compliment the chef enough! After our main course we were offered the desserts menu to which we declined as we had more than enough food with the two courses and the staff even offered us a complimentary amaretto each. This place is definitely worth a visit for sure.

First time visiting this restaurant and as soon as we walked in we were made to feel welcomed. The staff were very friendly and and once we got our meal it was certainly well presented and tasted lovely. It was so nice. Prices are as I would expected about the average for a restaurant. After seeing really good reviews on Facebook, I decided to book here for my birthday as every time I passed it looked like an amazing atmosphere. It did not disappoint! Me and all my friends thoroughly enjoyed all of our meal. They were really accommodating and just overall positive. They even provided me with candles and boxed my cake up for me! I have came back tonight with family since I have been dying to come back. Again the food was absolutely beautiful. Staff was lovely, the manager noticed my little brother with autism was distressed and he kindly distracted him by taking him to the kitchen and letting him krder straight away! Will definitely be back, completely worth every penny.

Im going to start by saying if your just coming in here for a beer and a pizza then you will have a great time. On that merit alone it would have been 5 star review all the way. Unfortunately though that isn't the case. On this occasion giovanni I believe he is called visibly tutted when I entered alone and clearly didnt want to serve me, he came round in the end though and was pleasent once i was well into my meal. Now here's where the food gets a bit weird. Every starter I have had the past 3-4 visits has had no taste and is meh at best. I appreciate the attempt of nice plating but the lack of seeeeasoning makes my soul upset. The pizza I had for main was banging as usual though. They haven't disappointed me yet. Work on the starter and pasta game and this place could be great. Would recommend though 👌

The food is insanely good, and the staff are excellent. For £95 we had 2x starters (calamari and the empanada), 1x ribeye steak, 2x mixed seafood paella, and 1L of sangria. I actually loved the sangria but it tasted more like a cold mulled wine than traditional sangria in my opinion. The presentation of the food was insane, they even gave a shot of aperol with the calamari which was weird but cool! We took the rest of our paella home so it served as 2 meals each. Would definitely return if we are next up!

We found this little gem by accident earlier in the year and have taken the 2 1/2 hour drive back over just for the food 3 times since. The food is delicious. The pizza dough is so light and fluffy, the gnocchi is amazing, the mussels in pink peppercorn sauce are a hit with my partner and the spaghetti bolognaise is delicious according to my 8 year old. It’s very reasonably priced, the staff are very friendly and attentive, you really can’t go wrong with this place. It’s well worth a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Food was absolutely incredible. Service was top notch. Our young server Mohammed was extremely attentive and definitely made us feel welcome. My girlfriend was very impressed with how well he cared for us as customers and in turn left him a £10 tip. We can't wait to come back and will be recommending far and wide. Tasty food but a bit pricy for what it is. it's also right on the edge of a boarded up estate with limited parking, wasn't thrilled leaving my car here. The other half did very badly at one of the eating challenges, he did say that meat in the burgers was very dry making it almost impossible to chew and swallow. Staff were chatty and friendly.

Lovely place! Walking distance from where my other half lives. Food is always great and really reasonably priced. Staff are always friendly and helpful, recently had a lady called Abbie serving us, she was extremely helpful and had a laugh with us. Would definitely recommend the restaurant.

Underwhelming for the hype. Quite a few people spoke really highly of the food here but the burgers were just ok. The nachos to start were 5 star. They were perfect, really generous size, really nice flavour, plenty of toppings, the beef was cooked perfectly. The beef burgers on the menu are described as freshly hand made but they were frozen which was a bit disappointing because it states on the menu they were fresh. The chicken burger was nice, again frozen but it tasted good, it was put together well and there was good proportions of everything in the burger. We had to ask for more drinks and were offered sauce and we were brought a completely empty bottle of mayo and a bottle of ketchup with barely enough ketchup in for 1 person. I don't know if we picked a bad day or maybe not great menu choices or perhaps both but I wont be in a hurry to return. The waitress didnt seem like she wanted to be there and the empty sauce bottles being brought over when we were asked if we wanted any sauce was the confirmation of that for me. Maybe I'll try again in the distant future.

Hadn't been here in a while so thought we would give it a go again. Was a bit quiet on Friday night but we did get there around 9.The kitchen closes at 21.30. We ordered the chicken wings devil sauce, mixed sizzler and a plain parmo. The parmo was decent with bechamel sauce but wasn't the thickest and seemed a bit steep for how much it was. You can get much better from Newcastle. The wings were disappointing and not that hot. The sizzler however was very nice mix and full of flavour. We shared a snicker cake which was very nice but to me would be a bit too much for one person.

I was a first time visitor and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were extremely helpful and genuinely nice in the way they engaged with us. The burger I had was generous and tasty, you can upgrade from french fries to chunky chips for a £1. I tackled one of the cheesecake Sweet's which is really a two person treat, and it was delicious. There were lots of families in with kids, which is good as kids eat for free. Definitely worth a visit.

What a find. Excellent menu and we tried the sharing platter for 4. Don't be put off by the portion sizes, you can take anything that you don't eat, home. There's a good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks ant beers. Welcoming friendly staff. We'll be going again.

Very disappointed with the food, chicken was rock hard, obviously been reheated and the madras sauce was bland, rice seemed like it had been heated in microwave, chips were harder than the chicken. Always a worry when your the only diners in the restaurant, The service was good but that's about it, won't be back.

Lovely welcome when we arrived and quickly seated to our table. Outstanding customer service from all the staff, especially the waiter at our table. All the good came out piping hot and well presented. The quality and quantity of the food was second to none. The set menu was excellent value and would highly recommend.

Last night, we had an amazing time at this restaurant. The food service and atmosphere were fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed every part of our meal. The wine was great, and our starters were delicious, especially the Kathi Roll. For mains, we highly recommend trying the Zeeras Kitchen specials. We opted for the Hariyali Murgh and were not disappointed. Overall, it was great value for money considering the standard of food and wine.

The food was unbelievable at this restaurant and I would highly recommend. The only issue I had was when it came to pay here were a few things that went unmentioned when we ordered, such as the £4 service charge for the pickle tray and our whole party somehow ended up with an extra £15.25 on top of each of the 3 bills we had. Other han his hiccup however, I would recommend coming here for sure.

Brilliant friendly efficient service. Got us seated outside with no prior booking on a Saturday lunchtime. Very popular with a mixed crowd from young families to people dressed up and splurging a bit. We had a lovely lunch here and very looked after. Staff wear masks and social distancing is maintained. The lunch deal on Monday-Saturday 3 courses for 5.95 is unbelievable value. Potato skins were lovely, our mains (seafood and lasagne - both in marinara sauce) were nice and ice cream rounded off nicely. Drinks were good value too. Went on Sunday for a dinner absolutely loved everything staff very friendly however they used frozen chicken which meant it was far to hard to cut. All 3 people on my group left all of the chicken. Very disappointed.

Just been here for a meal it was absolutely delicious 😋. We were warmly greeted when we went in and shown to our table for 4 people. The atmosphere is bery relaxed.We choose 2 cheesy garlic bread to start with. Omg they were delicious mouth watering. Perfect mix of garlic and cheese. For mains we ordered 3 chicken dishes 2 Kiev and one with a blue cheese sauce and a steak . The presentation was lovely and the food itself 10/10 the chicken was cooked to perfection juicy and moisture again with the perfect amount of garlic. My husband said the steak was cooked perfectly he like medium . We wasn't rushed and didn't feel under pressure to leave once we,d finished eating .. the puddings sounded lovely but we were all to full.. I,ll definitely be revisiting in the very near future. Im summer they have tables outside and its in a little Vale garden area with a park so perfect if you want to take kids or dogs

Very slow service. We were sat for ages before we even managed to order food. We waited ages again for the bill. Hiwever, there was a MASSIVE baby shower party at Sambucas at the same time though. Food was OK, it is what it is, you get what you pay for, cheap and filling. The outside dining area was nice over looking the park. We'll go again.

Food is not bad. A bit over priced. Service was awful. We were a party of 9 booked ahead and only given 3 small tables. We asked for another table and the waiter said he didn’t want to give us another small table and made out it was a massive inconvenience. Forgot drinks orders. Confused us whilst ordering food and didn’t seem to listen to what we were saying. Front door was wide open leaving a draft blowing through. Very cold inside.

Ordered off just eat and the order said ready to pick up but when we arrived it wasn’t. Apart from that the food was lovely and tasty. Timing wasn’t too bad despite the delay and the prices were good. Location was a bit confusing wasn’t entirely sure where the entrance was.

This is also called The Rattler on maps but is called Platrorm33 with its previous name. We were visiting the area and needed to find somewhere to eat. We had not eaten there before, so we thought it looked interesting, so we gave it a try. We will not be returning. We ordered for three people, 2 adults and one child. This cost almost £45. Myself and grandson only had soft drinks. I will try to give structured feedback, but I feel I should point out some issues that could be rectified to help make it a better place to visit. The first booth we tried was opposite the bar. It was covered in spilt drink stains, which could be cleaned with a steamer or even a samp cloth and soap. It looked awful, so we moved to another that was clean. My daughter (adult) ordered at the bar, and the staff were lovely with her. They had a laugh and a joke and made her feel welcome. We had our drinks and waited for our food. It wasn't too busy, and some people who came in 20 mins after us got their food before us. After this, my daughter asked about our order. They said we were next on the grill, but other orders still came out before ours. In total, we waited about an hour for our food. We ordered a double bacon cheeseburger, pulled pork wrap and chicken strips with dips. My grandson liked his chicken strips. He chose this as he didn't like the children's options. My daughter gave him some of her chips to share as this doesn't come with it. I had the wrap, which came with chips. The chips were OK, just a bit cold. The wrap, I could not finish. It was mostly sauce with a mushy texture. It would have been nicer if it had more of a pulled pork texture as it felt like eating baby food. You barely had to chew. My daughter could not eat her burger at all. The bacon was with very thick, uncooked fat, which was chewy. The bottom of the bun was soggy and dropped to bits. She took two bites and just couldn't eat it. She said it was of such poor quality meat with an unusual taste and texture. She fe lt it was lesser quality than a roadside burger van. With this being £11.95 you'd expect much better quality, this is a price you'd pay in an inner city bar and is far lesser the quality. I've added pictures of this to show how awful it was. Before leaving, I popped to the bathroom, There were no working locks on the two toilets that were available and no toilet paper. Luckily, I always carry tissues in my bag. The doors to enter the toilet you have to stand in the middle and hold both doors at the same time. Otherwise, you'll get trapped in between the doors. It could also benefit from a deep clean. I will say again, the staff were nice and the best bit about visiting but the place needs some cleaning and repairs and the food is terrible

We visited The Rattler again after a great experience back in November – we’d been impressed by the value and quality of the food, so we decided to return. Unfortunately, this visit was a bit of a let-down. We both ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Burger with fries and beef dripping gravy. However, the meal came without the gravy and instead included coleslaw, which was unexpected. The coleslaw was homemade, but it was very watery and lacked the creamy texture you’d hope for. The fries were okay – definitely better than typical fast food fries – but they needed more seasoning to really stand out. The biggest disappointment was the burger itself. While the chicken portion was generous, the burger was very plain: just a single piece of lettuce and no sauce at all. Even after adding our own condiments, the whole thing lacked flavour. The bun was soft, but felt cheap and didn’t help elevate the overall experience. That said, the bar staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was relatively fast, which we appreciated. We really wanted this visit to live up to our last one, but sadly it missed the mark.

Absolutely lovely staff! We came a a big group wanting to watch the rugby and they happily put this on for us. Food was gorgeous! Even the kids meals had flavour. Portions were great for your money. Would definitely come back here again!

Decided to try this place as family together there was 5 of us. Staff very friendly but unfortunately waiting time for food was pretty bad waited nearly and hour for our 3 sons to get meal for then to be told ours would be a few more minutes .15 minutes later we got ours but lads were finished.Whole point was to go out for meal together it was ridiculous so while we ate ours lads had to sit and wait for us. On a high note food was delicious just a shame our food didn't arrive together

Sunday lunch carvery sat In the carriage window was lovely. The carvery meat was beautiful I had all 3 meats and as usual my eyes were too big for my belly but well worth it, lovely staff especially the girl running the carvery serve. Thank you ❤️

Lovely place, friendly staff and nice beer garden, dog and kissy friendly and if you have a campervan you can actually stay the night in the car park for 4 quid. We didn't have food during our visit but it looked nice.

Ordered chicken tika masala- delicious taste. Rice was fine but serving too small. Great service. Back for visit #2- had hariali chicken and steamed rice- a distinctive green dish with coconut and almond- absolutely delicious and not spicey. Again, rice serving too small

Today, I went to the Spicy Indian Hotel in South Shields. It was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. Communication was extremely poor. I ordered one meal, but they charged me for two meals in cash. It was a very bad experience. I will definitely proceed with a cashback request. It’s not about the money — we’re happy to pay for what we eat, but that supplier cheated us.

Excellent food and Service! They even made a special dish just to suit our taste. It really was delicious. Friendly and welcoming - highly recommend.

Fish masala starter was amazing and melted in your mouth, the green sauce (not sure what it was) was really nice too. Main was nice too but a bit too spicy for my liking so didn’t get to fully enjoy it. Good naans too

It’s easy to see why they’ve won awards. There’s a 3 course set menu on most evenings apart from Saturdays. £13.95 pp but there’s a £2/£2.50 supplement for lamb or prawn. Good value for money. - The chutneys with the poppadoms were very tasty. - The railway lamb curry had tender meat, although the gravy could have been richer. - The Manchurian chicken curry was a decent level of heat. It’s similar to the chicken 65 (which was also tasty). - The Delhi Tuk Tuk and mixed grill starters were done well - Naan was alright It was really welcoming and the service was generally great, with the curry king doing the rounds and chatting to the tables.

Good consistent food based on the two times I’ve been. Dishes full of flavour. I liked the decor that’s goes with their street food theme. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Visited Delhi 6 for the first time last night with my Fiancè, and i was so excited to go, and experience Delhi 6 for myself, and i was not dissapointed, the service, the food, the atmosphere, all excellent, the food was presented perfectly, for the prices you pay, for the food you would not expect it to be presented in the way it was, the meals look like they should cost a lot more than they do. I like to try different food when go for a meal so i got food that i had never had before which can be risky but i was over the moon with food I had. For starter I had the Chicken Chaat, and my Fiancé had the onion Bhaji, For the mains I had the Chandi Chowk (tiger prawns) And my Fiancé had the Chicken tikka from the grill. As i have said before the food was out of this world! This restaurant is right up there with best of them 100% will visit again and i will tell everyone that they have to visit Delhi 6.

Such a nice place to go for food, all of the front of house staff were genuine and care about their restaurant and food. Sohel made sure checked on us at the end of our meal and was very passionate about our meal being the best it could be. Da Vinci’s has always been one of my favourite places. I used to come here as a kid, and now that I live in Canada, it’s the one place I miss the most whenever I think of home. Every visit feels nostalgic and special. The service is incredible — the staff are always so kind and generous. The food is unmatched: the potato skins, the pastas, and the pizzas are my absolute favourites, and the drinks are always amazing. It’s the perfect place to bring family, enjoy a great meal, and make memories. Totally worth every visit.

Came with work, what a tastefully decorated venue recently opened following a move from another premise. This was my first visit and it won't be my last. Waiters were attentive, food was hot and tasty, portion size just right. The place was packed on a week night, a testament to it's reputation. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

My colleague and I had a fabulous Indian dinner at Radhuni yesterday. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious! We especially enjoyed the onion bhaji, they were crunchy on the outside, but soft and flavourful on the inside. It took quite a while to get our food. But, I suppose they make all the dishes fresh. It all tasted as if it was made by order. There are a lot of Indian restaurants on the this road. If you choose Radhuni, you will not be disappointed.

Radhuni has an extensive menu and offers a special menu till 10pm. The Decor at Radhuni is fabulous. One of if not thee largest restaurants on Ocean road. Staff very friendly & professional. Cleanliness super. Free car park to the rear of building with disabled parking also available.

One of the best restaurants I have visited. My grandad always used to bring our family for a meal out when he was alive . I thought I would call in and treat myself to a nice meal. I had the chicken tika starter and a lamb rogan josh . By far the best I have had in a long time. Highly recommend to all visiting and anyone local.

Well what can I say ?? We are Indian food lovers and eat the cuisine everywhere we go, good, bad and ugly. This evenings meal was simply the best curry we have ever had ever hands down ! Come and eat here and make your own mind up, I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed

Ordered a delivery and was very impressed with the quality of the food - very plentiful and delivered beautifully wrapped! More than enough for 2 as we had 2 naans and 2 popadoms as well all delivered piping hot - authentic Indian dishes at their best!! Lovely restaurant!! Great food, friendly staff, warm welcome, good service. Seated quickly and drinks order taken. We visited The Rhadhuni beginning of June 25 and were not disappointed. We chose the special menu and what great value. 👍 !! We had poppadoms and dips, followed by onion bhaji starter for my husband, he said they were crisp and nicely cooked and I chose chicken tikka pancakes starter. Really delicious. Our mains were also lovely, tasty and well received. 😋 Mine was Chicken Tikka Masala, tender chicken pieces and perfect blend of spice, which was just the way I love it. !! Rice was tasty too. Generous portions too. My husband had Chicken Tikka with salad and mint dressing, he enjoyed it, face expression said it all ... also with a garlic naan bread to share, fresh, crispy and fluffy. Can't wait to return soon. Thank you. 😊 !! x

We booked a table for 4 on Saturday evening, turned up and they said we hadn't booked. When the lead booker arrived and showed them the email trail there was no apology, and would 'try' to squeeze us in. They had multiple conversations between staff about it but didn't include us or apologize. We ended up walking away and had a lovely meal over the road.

Bringing our Spanish friend for her very FIRST Indian Cuisine experience! I have a DEEP love for Indian Cuisine. The rich curries with its spices and condiments.. Just heavenly.. For our Spanish friend, Simi, she describes Spanish cuisine to be delicious yet simpler at the same time. Indian spices can be a little too overwhelming for her. Haha. A little chilli and she goes up in smoke!🔥 Simi decided to go for a curry that was not spicy at all - it turned out to be something like a fruit dessert! Poor thing, she wanted something savoury, so she ended adding salt into the curry, which didn't really work. I, on the other hand, chose the spiciest dish they had - it was a killer. Delicious, but I had to bring it home as the portions were really large. Naans, Onion Bhaajis, Mushroom Pilau Rice, Wraps, Spicy potato dishes, curries… it was incredibly delicious, and for a good price. Tandoori International's interior is beautifully decorated, giving it a classy appearance. The food options were a lot! It was confusing at first because I felt like I wanted everything. For vegetarians or for vegans, the options are aplenty.

The starter was amazingly tasty, the best curry I ever had Shatkora Jaipur chicken, the nan was so soft and fluffy and staff were great, fab night will definitely be back.

Food was amazing and bing with authentic flavour. Absolutely one of the best curry houses on Ocean Road with a well established presence from over 30 years of business. A varied and strong menu,that isn't too overwhelming with choice, means that there's something for everyone's tastes. Interior has fairly recently been done and is very modern. The various TVs on the walls appear to show some kind of Indian music channel which was a nice touch. Only one small gripe would be that service was fairly slow, however I do except that it was a pretty busy Christmas Eve sitting, so I can't fault them too much.

Overall food was ok. The chicken burger was very thin on a large bun with a large portion of fries and coleslaw (there was a choice of skinny fries, chunky chips or sweet potato fries for this meal). The spicy burger was tasty but could have been thicker. The Sunday lunch was a generous portion with A LOT of gravy. The chicken breast was large but quite dry (lots of gravy needed), the veg was served separate with the choice of cheese sauce on top. Veg could have been better as the swede was watery and most of the veg was well overcooked. The sprouts were still very hard (under done). The Yorkshire pudding was large and crisp (it crumbled into dust as soon as you touched it, too crispy). Price is good for the quality of food provided. Portions are very generous and staff are welcoming and friendly. Even though the space is small you can fit large groups together in the bar area. You can also order food for collection (Sunday lunches)

Visited a couple times now, always excellent, friendly service. Great for Sunday Roast, came quite quickly but was still good quality and taste -hard to fault. Normal menu I was a bit disappointed with the portion size of the calarmi but the crispy pork belly was great. Not the best selection of lagers/ales but a nice pint of what they do have on offer. Reasonably priced. Good atmosphere on a weekend within the establishment. Will be visiting again.

First time today my partner and myself been to this place. As I'm 20weeks pregnant and was craving for some lovely home made food, we decided to come here .. it was fantastic and very friendly. It was so good for the price. We shared a starter and obviously our own main course. We got offered a desert but we were full. Everything was amazing. Definitely going back. Thanks again.x

Old reliable. Consistently good food, relaxing atmosphere, staff are canny. Prices are starting to get a bit steep now - £8 for a starter, £14 for a pizza - but it's the same everywhere isn't it. Still my favourite place to eat in Shields.

Food was adequate and edible however for the price, based on resturants near by i would rate the food based on price poor quality and over priced. Frozen veg and had to add salt for flavour. Garlic bread was dry and when asked the waitress for some chilli oil because it was dry she just said no. Im surprised as ive eaten hear a lot and went for my daughter's birthday at her choice. I felt like the chef was on holiday and they were trying their best to still function. £140 later for Tuesday night tea, I won't be back.

So my first impressions were the size of the restaurant is a lot smaller than before and they also had a different entrance. The restaurant needs to be renovated. Pink and purple walls and ceilings, old red carpets, red overused leather chairs - it’s just not a nice vibe. There floor didn’t look clean either. I would suggest new interior and menus and make it look modern. The service was great however, the waitress was lovely and we managed to book a table an hour before arriving which was great.

We've enjoyed several special occasions here and the welcome from the staff always began an enjoyable experience. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. Sunday Lunch buffets are a bonus and great value, but might not be on every Sunday, so it would pay to call first.

I love Thai food but this time I’m very disappointed , food not good, not Authentic Thai taste actually, not right cook, inedible food, and very small portions for that price , try to ate them because I don’t want waste foods, , the curry soup so strange taste, and not worth for that price , and I complained with waiter when I pay he didn’t listen and tear up the bill and said ok it’s free , you don’t need to pay , I’m not expecting for eat free or cheap foods, I expect for good foods how worth to pay, I paid £40 he seem very upset I hope restaurant could improve and talk with chef

The mix starter had a good selection.Had the jungle curry which was full of flavour and had a nice kick to it.The deserts were nice too especially the coconut pancake with ice cream. Staff were very helpful and wasn't much of a wait but it was a bit quiet on the weekday we went.Very clean with beautiful decor.

The fried mixed vegetable starter was cooked in oil which wasn't at right temperature, the batter was soggy not crisp. The peanuts weren't fresh. I had a delivery it was 20 minutes late. I paid more than £17 it wasn't worth it, a rip off.

Acceptable for south shields standards. Not as authentic as expected. Understandably heavily anglicised to suit local community otherwise the business wouldn’t sustain.

Overnight trip to South Shields for business. Lovely food and atmosphere. The only reason I've given the service a 4 star is because I ended up going up to pay. ( That could also be me being impatient). Well worth a visit.

My partner and I enjoyed a fantastic meal at Bravi on Friday night. The food was so tasty and the portions were generous. There was a lovely atmosphere and the waiting staff were very courteous and friendly - we were very impressed indeed!

Was here for my brother's birthday with the family and with it being our first time here I wasn't sure what to expect but the food was amazing. I had the tortellini for the starters which delicious and the pan-fried sea-bass which I thoroughly enjoyed and the cheesecake was amazing. I would definitely come here again

Food was amazing, we had the calamari and the pate to start, both fabulous. Then we had the swordfish and pesto pasta. Again. Fabulous. Really well looked after by the staff and the surroundings are very lovely. Out first time here and we will be back.

Horrible STAY AWAY! Got a cheese burger with chips and coleslaw. First the chips were overcooked and the burger bun was cold. They had made no attempt to toast it or even warm it through. I complained and they did bring me a fresh one. Taste wise,the chips were dry and still overcooked in my opinion. Burger was a 4/10 coleslaw was fine. Price wise at £10.29 just not worth it. Could have had a better burger down the road at ither McDonald or Burger king. I will not be returning.

Not very good value for money. Had the Mac n cheese burger - was way overcooked and dry and hardly any Mac n cheese on it. Disappointing as we've been here for breakfast and it's great. Shame.

We had a great experience with food here! I asked for a salad with a grilled breast chicken, and everything was fine for me! The size, freshness of the vegetables and the flavour of the sauce was really pleasant. The kids menu was different of any place we went before, the steak option surprised us and my daughter really enjoyed her choice! (Was a pity that I forget to take a picture of our dishes). Environment family friend too.

We have been eating at this restaurant for the last two to three years and if I had reviewed it year ago then it would have got a much higher rating. However, it seems to have changed subtly. The service not quite as good, the food a bit harsher and similar to Ocean rd. The fact that it was different was what made it for us. The best thing we had on our last visit was the chatri paneer starter but the two curries were very ordinary. We had a glass of wine apiece which should have been £7.95 each, but actually charged at £9.95. A fact we didn’t notice until later. Sorry, I don’t think we will be back.

A warm welcome and a great atmosphere. Booked for the wife's birthday and was shown to table straight away. An excellent choice of drinks and the menu is well laid out with advice for Gluten free and vegetarian choices. There was no one rushing you to finish your meal and you can relax and enjoy it. It is wheelchair accessible as well. A take away service is available but do not deliver.

Very cosy restaurant with friendly staff and fantastic service. As for the food, what can I say, absolutely fantastic, from the starters to the pudding I couldn't fault a thing. Oh and try the naan's, they're another level

Simply the best welcome, ambiance and Indian food in South Shields. Only our first time here but definitely not our last. Excellent all around and would highly recommend if you like a first rate curry. Sunday to Friday is a specials menu and cheap as chips (or rice in this case). No delivery service but they do takeaway

I have received a takeaway from cafe India this eve so I didnt sit in the restaurant so take this review with a pinch of salt.... which ironically leads me to this... the food though decent had no seasoning to speak of. Apart from the peshwari nan which was perfect 10/10. I ordered a Rezala curry and what I received honestly was not what I would traditionally call a Rezala more just a plain curry with comedically large chunks of vegetables. Tasted ok after seasoning though same for the bhuna prawn. The chips were nice, crispy with a nice fluffy interior. Portion sizes were great 👍. Next time I'll try a different curry but overall worth checking out.

First time visit this year was here last year excellent Indian restaurant been coming here for years it's had a revamp with new menu new food to try the staff always friendly one of the owners there has known us for 20 odd years food is always first class 🥇 highly recommend folks Pop in if your in south shields it was busy lively when we went in we pre booked 🤝🙏🤍💛💙

Too young place in service, trained to be nice to customer, so you keep answering to their questions - Some will take order, next two people will come ask whether they can take my order, too young guys need to be aware what’s happening around. I like they are learning but they need to balance and observe and act appropriately.

Always a friendly welcome here, a jewel in the crown of Ocean Road! Great food - always hot and tasty with more than big enough portions. Great service and a clean and tidy establishment.

My friend and I called for a take-away..while waiting my friend needed the toilet but because she is disabled one of the staff allowed her to use staff toilet which was very kind. When I gave my order I left my prescription reading glasses on the bar counter and forgot to pick them up because I had to help my disabled friend to the toilet and back. So when I rang them later the gentleman on the other end said they weren't there and I must have left them somewhere else..but I didn't..I know that I left them there..so not happy...The food was a bit bland but plenty of it..my Kurma wasn't as I like it, no coconut flavour..so probably not go again

Went in on the off chance there was a table for 2. It was mother's day but we were lucky there was one. We went for the trio of meats Sunday lunch. It came out quickly and was piping hot. The gravy was perfect as I can't stand watery gravy. We had lamb, beef and pork (other option was chicken). There was so much meat and it was cooked beautifully. Lots of food and a giant Yorkshire. Asked for another gravy and was not charged. Great value for money and the staff were so nice with fast service. Absolutely perfect and we will definitely go back again and recommend.

My colleague and I had a delicious dinner here a couple of weeks back. The young man serving us was kind and welcoming! The restaurant has a really nice vibe. And the food was absolutely delightful!! I really highly recommend this Italian restaurant when you’re in South Shields.

Ordered from here a hundred times, on this occasion I ordered a Sunday dinner and found a maggot in my food, called restraunt told because it's fresh this isn't possible ( if you don't wash fresh veg correctly this is possible) after a lot of calls they said it wasn't possible, contacted just eat who refunded one meal not that we wanted to eat the other meals after our find, I will never order again

Fantastically hosted for my not so usual wedding day! We had a table of almost 30 people and the staff were extremely accommodating letting me family bring in decorations for the table and store a cake. It was all a lovely surprise and they definitely had there work cut out for them managing all of our orders but didn't falter once. Very grateful but not surprised as I've always had a fab meal every time I've come here! Thank you again 😊

Terrible pizza. Bland, tasteless base and flavourless toppings. Big, but who wants a lot of anything tasteless? £4.95 for a half of draught Peroni too. I repeat, for a HALF. They are having a laugh. Starters were pleasant and only reason for 2 stars.

Stayed for 2 nights in October. Plus points The hotel is in a perfect location. Its clean and nicely decorated Negatives Its not very customer friendly. You pay upfront and they still take £50 which is returned when you check out if there are no additional charges. The car park fee is high at £20 per day and you have to pay it via an app. There are only 18 places. The breakfast was poor. The fried eggs were set , you had to slice the scrambled ones. The croissant was rock hard. The worst complaint is the room was so hot you couldn't sleep. Tried opening the window and there was noise from the fan below and the smell of grease fat.

Went to check in to our “single room”, which to us means one bed. My wife and I did not expect any issues and were actually in a very large rush from an earlier train delay. We were told that only one person can stay in a single room which was not mentioned on the reservation. They then told us that we couldn’t not check in because they knew we had two people. I implored that we were in a rush and we needed to at least drop our bags and on the way to our event figure out a new place to stay. The very helpful *eye roll* employee said we could not upgrade our room became they were booked and no hotels in the area were available. Thankfully he did let us pay for and go up to the room but made sure to mention that if two people were in the room after 9pm then we would be kicked out. We have found another room at a near by hotel as we told him we would. I will be giving my room key to homeless person for the night after we retrieve my bags and go to the next location so someone will benefit from the room. At least something good will come out of this! Also when we went up to the room it was dark, dingy and not impressive. Would not recommend. I’d like to add that when we went back to the hotel to get our stuff we had to check in at the door with somebody who looked very confused. I was short with the employee because I wanted to get my bag and go to my second hotel and go to bed. I explained to him that we were not allowed to stay in the same room as a married couple because there was only one bed and we were gonna go up to our room that we have already paid for get our stuff and immediately leave. He had to then ask for permission to allow us to get the belongings from the room and then when I told him that we’re obviously not welcome to stay at this hotel, because we have two people he said no, you’re supposed to have four people that’s why it’s not allowed… very odd thing to say seeing as we’ve only been two people the entire time. To be fair this door name check guy likely is just staff and had nothing to do with it and the first guy we spoke to at check in obviously told him To watch out for us. I find it very odd that we are a married same sex couple and this happened to us. I find it odd that at check in we said 2 people and now after they are making up that we said 4 people…

I had the pleasure of photographing Vikki & Kevin’s wedding at The County Hotel, Newcastle, and I was truly impressed by this beautiful venue. The staff and coordinators were outstanding friendly, professional, and so well organised. They made sure the whole day flowed smoothly, and their support made my job much easier while ensuring the couple and their guests had the best experience. The County Hotel is a stunning venue that combines luxury, excellent service, delicious food, and a lively city vibe the perfect choice for a memorable wedding. I highly recommend it to every couple looking for a fantastic place to celebrate their big day.

Hotel is lovely. Rooms not as glamorous as the pictures would have you believe, but they're very nice. Location perfect - opposite Central Station and near everything. Service brilliant. The County Hotel is a charming find! The staff are wonderfully friendly and attentive, making you feel instantly welcome. My room was spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The central location is perfect for exploring. I highly recommend it for a stress-free and enjoyable stay—a genuinely pleasant experience!

I left money in the hotel room nearly 3 months ago now, as I am from London they told me they can refund it to the card paid on instead of me returning all the way back to get the cash. Since this I am constantly fobbed off, emails ignored and £500 down. I understand I left the money and it’s my responsibility however it needs to be returned and hasn’t. Looking at the reviews they seem to also double charge people and not refund. Unfortunately for this hotel I will now be taking this further.

We left incredibly disappointed. Contacted the hotel to complain and it’s been almost 4 weeks. We still haven’t heard back. Awful communication. However, I would like to note that the hotel staff at reception were very lovely. The location of the hotel is great. Not a 4 star hotel at all, a bit tired around the edges. Also confirm access / any mobility issues, as we were placed in a room where we had to go up and down multiple flights of stairs (no other choice! Due to location of the room). We weren’t warned about this either

Average food. You can order a fresh orange juice that it's not actually fresh but bought in a bottle from concentrate. I think that they should take directly from you all you want to order (drinks and food) all at once because people is going hungry and does not like to wait. Pizza are ok but not awesome and no problem if you need to change any ingredient. Nice staff and clean local but a bit dark.

We had a lovely evening meal, food was delicious and served all at the same time and piping hot. All 3 of us really enjoyed pizzas were great size, my pasta was really full of flavour and good portion. Great atmosphere staff very friendly and helpful will definitely be going back for more.

Had lunch here today and I can't recommend it highly enough. The service was fantastic and the food was a bargain. £36 for two starters, two pizzas, a chocolate cake, three bottles of alcohol-free Peroni and two coffees. Will definitely come back - thank you :)

Visiting the North East for the first time. Arrived early evening after a lonnnnng drive - starving. Found this restaurant by accident (looking for cash point). Nipped in, no booking and the most lovely welcome from the staff. We were given a table and seated. Atmosphere, comfort, lighting are perfect in this place. Really lovely. We had a starter, main, desert and coffee. The last Italian meal we had was a cpl of months ago in Little Italy in NYC. The food in this restaurant was easily on a par with that. Easily. Tasty, hot, cooked superbly and portion sizes pitch perfect! What a find! If we return to this area, Tuscano’s is going to be our must visit place! Thank you for such an amazing experience and delicious meal.

Lovely place to go if you fancy a cheap nice and a nice Italian. The service was very quick and the staff were all polite. Good range of drinks available to start and the whole menu is actually quite big, just your typical Italian menu, and then they have a specials board too. The food came quickly and it tasted good too, so no complaints. Very good value for money, lovely night.

What can I say, been coming here for around 15 years now and still visit and prefer this over any restaurant, even though we've moved out of the area. Food superb, wonderful service and a lovely atmosphere. Just wish they were a bit closer but that's on us! :)

2nd time I've been now, just as good as the 1st time, friendly staff, stunning food and great atmosphere. If you're looking for a cozy restaurant with caring customer service along with food you never want to finish, you need to come to Tuscano's. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Always loved this chippy but did not realise that it now has new owners. Longest wait & very expensive. The chips were thick and greasy as was the fish. The box was falling apart and soaked in grease and paid nearly £20 for it all to be binned and actually felt quite sick after. Won’t be returning again. So sad to see this once fantastic fish & chip shop go so downhill.

Looked at me like I was mad when I asked if they did pineapple rings, had never heard of them apparently. No salt and vinegar, despite asking and being told it had been put on, mushy peas more like pea soup. Thought I’d try somewhere else because I don’t like Colman’s curry, but this place doesn’t do proper chip shop curry either. Large chips are anything but. Won’t be going back. I probably wouldn’t have said anything, but what’s the point of chip shop chips without salt and vinegar, complete waste of money.

Never been but i own a photo and possible documents about the place from the 1930s including this photo (53 ocean rd, south sheildd John H Dean Taylors) a woman named Hilda Riche had this then gave it to my neighbour (my nan Carole) to me, thought il share it ❤️

Absolutely disgusting waited over an hour for hard inedible stale chips, battered sausage that was layered in thick grease, strange tasting curry sauce, and thick custard like garlic. Then got told would send more food...waited another hour for it not to arrive. Used to be one ov the best chip shops in shields, I dunno what's happens...Will not be going back that'd for sure

Expensive and really quite unpleasant. Thick greasy chips, box falling apart from the amount oil. Fish was just ok, most of it went in the bin. Used to be really good but has new owners and they clearly have some lessons to learn. Wouldn't recommend and won't return.

The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, paired with thick, golden fries that were just as delightful. The flavors were spot-on, and the portion size was generous. A true taste of classic British goodness!"

Has gone drastically downhill. I’ve always gone to Smiths (rather than its more well known neighbour) and the food has always been great and good value for money. I called in today to get some chips and was absolutely shocked at the small portion size, it was literally half of what a Large portion used to be and they weren’t even well cooked. I’m guessing that it must have new owners but unfortunately the food and portion was so poor that I won’t be going back there again.

great staff very attentive almost to attentive but we did ask if we could have a few more minutes and they were more than happy. the dishes were very nice but did find the garlic chips a little on the tough side almost cardboard like but can't fault the rest a good drinks list and nice atmosphere made for a great evening meal with the wife

First evening of the opening of The Raj. Great to see familiar faces & a fantastic welcome from the owner. We were so sad when the original Raj was closed down for demolition but so pleased when the new restaurant opened. Good food Good service & lovely restaurant. Welcome back "The Raj"

Re-opened after moving from the old location. Same family service & excellent food. So nice to be back in our favorite Indian restaurant with the friends we have known for years. The Raj is every bit the same as the original Raj. The move from the old premises has taken over 2 years, & once the right premises were found The Raj was reborn. Really pleased to be back with the "Raj" family & absolutely thrilled to see the staff again. I wish every success to THE RAJ & I know it will be successful. To those who never experienced the original Raj, I suggest you try the new Raj. All the staff are super friendly & the food is superb. Go on treat yourself to a meal at THE RAJ, you wont be disappointed. We are so pleased to be able to experience the food & friendly welcoming staff again. Phil & Marion

At the end of curry mile. Was quiet when i went. Ordered onion bhaji and chicked tikka masala. Piping hot and delicious. Staff friendly and above average

I’ve just ordered a takeaway for the first time from this curry house 18:20pm — 27/7/24 and it is absolutely disgusting 🤢 As soon as seen the plastic container with my madras inside I said to my partner this isn’t going to be nice and it’s probably been microwaved… WAS I RIGHT !!! The curry has absolutely no taste, freezing cold, chicken hard as rocks with no tenderness to it whatsoever, and I’ve poured glasses of water from the tap with more consistency… just a watery bland curry no doubt from the ice where it has been stored in the freezer from the night before ! The rice was freezing cold and bland also with literally no taste, the chips were hard as rocks also and very under cooked, and the mixed kebab was just the same as all of the above. Never again will I order from here. Try the Dilshad next door if you want a decent curry or the star of India, both 10x better than this establishment.

First visit and well worth the 2.5 mile walk in the rain to get there. Our choice of main courses were, Florence chicken and chicken Kiev, excellent. The service was good and the background music brilliant. Very nice setting. Definitely going back to sample the sweet course.

We have been to Florenece Bar and Bistro a few times now. The service is great and the food amazing. The 3 or 4 times we have visited we have never booked and always have been seated with no problems. The menu changes regularly so it's not the same choices when you visit. After dining we went through to the bar area where there was live music on. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely place and lovely food, there were a few teething problems with missing children's menus and a bit of a lack of management when it came to who was waiting on the tables, we were asked by three different people if we were ready to order drinks when we already had, however I would rather this than not being asked at all. The place is so clean, and unrecognisable from what it used to be, lovely fresh decor and very inviting. All they need is a little bit more time to get up to standard on their service and my 4 would become a 5, I will go back.

This was by far the worst Christmas meal I have ever had placed in front of me. I booked a table for 14 of my family on Christmas Day at 15.00 hours. We eventually sat down at 15.50 and waited another 25 minutes for starters. When the starters eventually turned up, the ones that where correct where warm, which would be ok but unfortunately they where prawn cocktails and not being a chef but pretty sure cold and fresh is how it should be served. Then we had to wait nearly another hour for the mains, one had ordered gammon and unfortunately the chef said he had over cooked the gammon so much he couldn’t serve it. Then when the rest came out some had pigs in blankets what could break a window the lucky ones did not. The Yorkshire Puddings where rock hard and there was little to no vegetables. I ordered beef, which didn’t visualise and when a plate was placed in front of me it was a bit of mash with one piece of turkey, one sprout, three bits of carrot and one roast potato. At 18.00 hours when we had been there for 3 hours a young employee came and asked if we could wait a little further for our sweets, however we had seen the table next to us get there’s and left in disgust so we declined to wait. To anyone who looks at what looks like a very nice establishment please think twice, we have tried to speak to the owner several times to no avail. He obviously only cares about profit and not quality. Many of my table where I’ll for many days after and that really is no surprise. If you are looking for somewhere new to eat I strongly advise you look elsewhere.

After popping in for a quick drink at the weekend, we thought the food smelt lovely so went back this evening for a meal. Our expectations were definitely met. The food looked wonderful and tasted even better. We'll be back.

The meal was OK but the service terrible, the main meal did not come any sauces. The lamb did not have mint sauce, the pork and stuffing did not come with stuffing. We ordered a couple of sweets but after waiting 40 minutes said just forget them. Really gone down from what it used to be and it was not even very busy.

Went for a Carers Association Xmas party. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pointing me in the right direction for the party. Nothing too much trouble and very kind. Food was excellent, loved the stone baked pizzas would highly recommend. Party was so much fun, DJ was a giggle and did requests. Definitely would recommend. The toilets were clean and well maintained. Would feel comfortable going in alone xo

We all had carvery dinner of 2 meats for £12 it was absolutely lovely. There was a good amount of people there but not too crowded. We had drinks after in the bar which is also a really nice area to sit talk and on this occasion watch the match. Recommend dinner here! We will be coming again.

Our reserved table for 6 could of been positioned in a better place when we arrived the place wasnt busy but we soon found ourselves surrounded by a massive queue for the carvery the noise was terrible spoilt my meal and we ended up taking our dessert home with us

Great atmosphere, clean and tidy venue, polite staff. They do a fantastic carvery on a Sunday. Love coming here with the family, big screen TV for the sport good selection of beers, did I mention the carvery?

Amazing. We had our wedding on 29/12/23. Magical from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond nothing was too much for them. The DJ Andy was exceptional, with fantastic music which had everyone up on the dance floor. The food was outstanding. Our room looked magnificent. We just thank Lisa and all the staff for making our day amazing .

My wife and I just had a delivery from sultan of jarrow. I had chicken vindaloo with plain pelou rice the wife had chicken massala and I must say it was superb couldn't fault anything. Only one thing I was disappointed about and this is just personal choices ( did not like the chicken chat any because they mix pieces of cucumber in it and I hate cucumber but like I said personal choice. All in all 10/10 I will be ordering again quite often. ( THANK YOU SULTAN OF JARROW)

Honestly we were blown away by this place. We're here for the weekend and were left trying to find somewhere last minute and came across this place. As soon as we walked in we were made so welcome. What a guy Josh is - he honestly made our experience so memorable. The food was fab, portions were huge, great atmosphere, lovely interior and the price was so good. Honestly couldn't recommend it more and a huge thanks to Josh who was just amazing.

Went her for the first time last night and we'll definitely be back. We received a very warm welcome from Josh who couldn't have been nicer. He was rushed off his feet but still managed to look after all the diners with a smile on his face. First time trying this place. I ordered the vegan curry which wasn’t creamy at all, yet was listed as a creamy curry on the menu, to be fair the guy taking my order did say it won’t be really creamy as it’s made using coconut cream.The curry for me could have done with more sauce as it was quite thick in consistency with a bit too much veg.That said it was far tastier than any other Indian takeaway we have tried near us in Wallsend and it had some fresh veg in such as mushroom, tomato and even okra, which was really nice to see and a rarity these days. My partner and son liked their chicken curry but could have done with a bit more heat, he said garlic naan was lovely, really good.Rice was tasty and the chips were epic! Best I’ve had!! Would definitely go back to try something else on the menu. Lovely to see vegan options available

Had many takeaways from here but first time eating in. Lovely food, great quality and really good portions, took so much home with us. The staff also made such an effort for my birthday and even brought out a cake (off their own backs, we didn’t bring it with us!) Would definitely recommend.

A very nice restaurant with a great atmopshere, staff and owner. The owner is very down-to-earth, modest, respectful and kind in nature. The food is top quality with plenty of flavour and taste. The spiciness ranging from hot to mild, depending on your palette. I would definitely recommend visiting here if you come around Ocean Road in South Shields. I appreciate the hosting of the meeting of my sister and future brother-in-law. The restaurant and owner did a very good job providing a very welcoming and endearing environment we all enjoyed being within. Definitely wouldn't mind coming again for future events and meetings.

Our Waiter Farhan was the highlight of our evening!! Full of charisma and an amazing interpersonal skills making you feel like a regular even tho you have just met. Food was delightful and great portion sizes and value. Served quick but with out feeling rushed. The restaurant had many people in however a quiet ambiances perfect for conversations was always maintained. This is my favourite and the most personal Indian restaurant on ocean road!!

My 2nd visit - quiet again. Staff super friendly, decor fine, crisp linen napkins. Took the chicken bhuna puree- another take on this dish with a rolled puree and a dollop of shredded chicken bhuna. Tasty. Then chicken korma and steamed rice - hot, plenty or rice and pretty tasty. Usual coffee to finish. Better walk further down the street to here than pick the closest ones to Morrisons. 4th visit - Staff curry - lamb - PERFECT. BEST CURRRY ON OCEAN RD. On the bone. Lamb cooked well. Lots of fresh spices. King of curries

We went for lunch. I had the beef and blue cheese toastie. It really was delicious. Loved the pomegranate in the salad too. Great service and a beautiful looking cafe. Took my hubby a cake home and he said it was the best vanilla slice he’d tasted!

Having discovered cafe @ the house a while ago I decided to bring my colleagues here for lunch. The six of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Was a mixture of an all day breakfast with added haggis, fabulous triple topped toasted sarnies, a stunning hand raised steak and ale pie with gravy, the biggest homemade fish finger sandwich I have ever seen, hot savoury filled croissants and freshly cooked chips and all was to die for. The staff as always were attentive & courteous. Obviously we couldn't leave without 2 or 3 of their incredible cakes. Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you for being wonderful

Such a lovely setting to meet friends and the food is amazing. The selection on offer spoils you for choice, as you just want to try everything. We settled on a toastie each with chips and they were lovely. The cake display cabinet. OMG, I'm not normally a cake person, but I could not resist having one. Lemon and white chocolate cheesecake .It was devine. The service and staff are warm and welcoming. Michael the owner is such a pleasant and wonderful host. Honestly, if you live in south Shields, this needs to be your go to place.

Lovely place, nice decor, the food is superb. They have a big choice of toasties, they all looked nice, i couldn't make my mind up and decide what i wanted. Coffe also was nice. The music in the background was a bit unusual for the place but i enjoyed it. Ill definitely be back!

First time visit impressed with the layout and the decor which transforms your mood immediately from post industrial urbanity to a quiet oasis of calm. I went for a simple breakfast and as a diabetic I found that I could get a perfectly hearty and tasty meal without any carbohydrates. The hash brown had a cauliflower instead of potato option so that was just great. Friendly and helpful staff provided a nice experience, and with a pot of tea my breakfast cost less than £9.00. This place is a hidden gem.

Pleasant staff and a good loojing chippy. Unfortunately the batter on the fish was soggy & the chips were tasteless and greasy. Didn't ask for bits but was given a boat-load. Maybe just an off-day and the oil hadn't been heated enough.

Best fish shop in north east. Haddock was so fresh and was that day’s catch caught up off Seahouses that morning. Always a treat visiting Tyneside for this fish shop. Highest recommendations.

Excellent service recieved the past 7 times I have been there with cheerful ladies and the gent in charge of the fryer enthusiastic and friendly sorting Sweet William request without hesitation. Food is sensational all times with plentiful portions with sometimes 2 and 3 pieces of Haddock placed in on standard fish and chips order. Curry sauce particular favourite. Better than Colmans and Smiths I am used to on Ocean Road.

Had a fantastic meal here. Great food very good prices. Steak and Ale pie. Mince and Dumplings. Fish And Chips plus lots more and the plates were very generous. Highly recommended

Great food plentiful and fair price too. Love the Sunday carvery. Thursday quiz night is fab and raffle to pick the ball out of the bag win £10 for a white ball and £500 for the orange ball!! Like a home from home everyone friendly and welcoming and dogs welcome too. Excellent

My visit was for the Sunday Carvery on Mother’s Day - all the family enjoyed their food, and lively atmosphere. We had decent food portions, the service was quick & attentive. I thought this was a good value for money experience. I would definitely recommend!

First time we've been in since the new management took over. The staff were friendly and the food sublime. I had the Yorkshire pudding wrap which can be ordered with various fillings and then had the raspberry pavlova for desert which tasted delicious. Will definitely be calling in again to try out other things on the menu.

Food was spot on and it was calmer when we went and not that busy we got a table straight away. If you're at South Shields fair I recommend going here for a bite to eat. The view of the beach and the breeze was lovely from where we were sitting. Get yourselves along to the Seaview café.

I recently dined at SeaView for a family fish and chips meal, and I must say it was a disappointing experience. The food was horrendous, with the fish batter was oily and lacking any flavour — just a greasy mess. My children couldn’t even finish their meals, and I felt the same way. To top it off, the service was subpar, leaving us feeling neglected throughout our visit. I wouldn't recommend this place for a satisfying meal; there are far better options out there.

On a brisk day, and everything else was closed down, it was lovely to have a warming respite cuppa and snack. Highly recommended

A party of 20 for a special birthday family celebration. Booked in advance. Sent orders in advance. What a shambles. Service was slow and poor, food came out with long periods between each diners meal resulting in some sitting for ages waiting for their food whilst others finished theirs. . Food was awful except pizzas and garlic breads and salad. Manager was uncooperative when discussing issues. When food was sent back it was recooked not replaced. Atmosphere was flat. Not recommended.

It's a nice little Italian restaurant with great food and a great atmosphere, sadly we went on a Saturday night and it was exceptionaly busy which meant the service was terrible! Long waiting time for the menu then even longer for drinks and the food took so long we were ready to leave, then to top it off the bill was incorrect. (Perhaps on a quieter evening it's a lot better)

Friendly staff and food was good. We had garlic mushrooms and garlic prawns to start.. really tasty! The cannelloni was really nice but my seabass came battered which made it a bit dry. Everything was fab except the seabass. Will be back!

Just had house special duck. Lots of cubed chicken which tells me it was prepared elsewhere, duck and prawns. So bland. Even the rice was overcooked and came out as a lump. Other dish was apparently chicken in plum sauce. Same as other dish, straight out of a jar sauce and just sugary. Best thing was the guy was very friendly. Definitely wouldn’t recommend and better making it fresh yourself.

Used this place for years and years! But honestly the last couple of times have been disappointing, none more so than tonight's unfortunately that's it for us we wouldn't return Brian is lovely a proper treasure but whoever is in the kitchen is really letting the place down the noodles and rice were so stodgy held the Shape of the cartons, the need in the curry looked like it had been cooked on a light bulb really grey, and the chips were stale. The famous taste is nomore sadly.

My partner Linda picked us a meal up last night. Disgusting she's gone there for over 40 years and never been disappointed. Chicken curry with chips and mushrooms. The mushrooms were none existent and the chips weren't fresh they had been warmed up God knows how long they had them but no wonder they gave us so many just to get rid of them. All went in the bin if we could have been bothered we would have took the whole sorry mess back. Total waste of money but a good customer gone who will never go back or recommend.

Always a pleasure going to Ocean Pearl.The assistant Brian is a hoot to talk to, very accomadating& always happy to serve what the customer wants. I travel quite a distance to order food because it is so good.
