Fantastic restaurant. Excellent quality food with care in a great setting. The menu offers some great alternatives to the ’standard’ greek menu. The owners and staff are very welcoming and happy to assist however they can. Would return and recommend. Our third time at this restaurant! Everything excellent!

Ampelaki has set a high bar as our first dinner in Kefalonia. The moussaka is quite possibly one of the best I've ever had - creamy and rich. The grilled octopus with beans was also exquisite. The sauce on the rabbit was delicious, but the gameyness of it wasn't quite my taste. No matter, the dessert of patsavouropita was to die for and made up for it. Service was genuine, warm, and attentive.

Amazing shop! Recommended! The sea bream fillet was impeccable, the calamari perfectly fried, and the pastitsio divine! Cooked at the moment, individually in a clay pot. Be sure to get the crab meatballs and the cheese pie. All handmade and fresh. The staff was very kind, they responded whenever we needed them. All this in a nice environment by the sea and at absolutely reasonable prices. Well done!!! Keep going!

The food was good over all excepting the moussaka witch was rly bad(tasteless). That was disappointing. But the fresh fried calamari was insane. Probably the best calamari I ate in Greece in the last 5 years. French fries were good also. The service is nice, everything else is perfect. I guess the only issue was the moussaka.

The food was soooo delicious, one of the most things we liked in Kefalonia, there is a little bit noise and the service a little slow , some cats may bother you but it was fine , I would recommend it if you are in Argostoli

We had our first meal in Argostoli, Kefalonia at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The pastitsio was one of the best I’ve ever ate. The balance with the béchamel sauce was spot on and not too rich at all. My dad enjoyed his meat dish while mum enjoyed the pastitsio as well. The complimentary dessert hit the spot. We will definitely be back!

The restaurant is in front of the sea sidearea in Argostoli. The food, the atmosphere, the service everything was great. They brought everything surprisingly quick and we ate rather fast but kept nibbling when the manager of the restaurant sent 4 different people in 15’ minutes to ask us if we were finished! We really felt like they were shoving us out of the restaurant! Ps. We did a reservation a day before and nobody informed us about a time slot so this behavior was somewhat rude to us…

During our recent stay in the area, we visited this restaurant twice, and while the experiences were consistent in some ways, our feelings about the food varied between visits. One thing that remained constant was the fantastic staff. Every person we encountered was warm, friendly, and always smiling, which made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The service was quick and attentive on both occasions, which is always a huge plus. As for the food, our first visit was fantastic. We started with a fresh, vibrant salad and a flavorful fava spread that set the tone for what felt like a perfect dinner. The highlight, though, was the sea bream with orzo – cooked to perfection, with the orzo beautifully complementing the fish. We left very impressed and eager to return. Our second visit, however, didn’t quite live up to the first. This time, we ordered the octopus and the cod burger. Unfortunately, both dishes were underwhelming. The octopus lacked the tenderness and flavor we were hoping for, and the cod burger, while creative, didn’t match the quality of the sea bream we had before. Overall, it's a restaurant with great service and a cozy atmosphere, but consistency in the food quality was hit or miss. If you stick to their signature dishes, like the sea bream, you're in for a treat.

I decided to review with 5 stars even though there was a lot to waiting because the food was excellent and people were polite. Is the kitchen understaffed? Possibly. But the end result was tasty and the value you get for what you pay unbeatable.

Easily the best restaurant in Lixouri — and honestly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had anywhere in Greece after several trips across the islands. Avli blends Greek tradition with broader Mediterranean influences in the most delightful way. From the oven-warm homemade bread with salty pickle butter to the grand finale of a San Sebastian cheesecake, every dish is pure perfection — without the pretentiousness you sometimes get with fine dining. Special mention goes to the unique moussaka, which first drew us here after being featured on a well-known German culinary TV show. It literally melts in your mouth, and we couldn’t believe it costs only €12. I’m not saying they should charge more, but it would still be worth it at double the price. Another highlight: the Hünkar. We’d never heard of it before, but the creamy eggplant purée paired with the most tender veal (cooked for what must have been half a day) was unforgettable. We came twice in just three days — and would’ve happily returned again if their season hadn't come to a well deserved end. An absolute must-visit on Kefalonia, no matter where you’re staying on the island.

By far the best restaurant in Lixouri. Every dish, meat, fish or veggie just beautifully prepared and delicious. Gutted we only ate here twice this week.

After having a divine dinner with my wife at this heavenly restaurant, I told the staff I wanted to marry the chef. Friendly and attentive staff, especially the girl with curly hair and glasses who is wearing a “Tropical” t-shirt tonight. If you're in Kefalonia, you can't go home without stopping here. We've had dinner and lunch at many restaurants on the island, and I really think everyone else should come and take cooking lessons at this restaurant. I won't say anything else!

Really lovely food. I found this place through Google and am very glad I did. I had the moussaka which was amazing - very very tasty. We also had some chips and various dips for starter. The waitress spoke English which was very helpful and recommended some lovely wine. The venue was small but clean and not too noisy so you can hear each other speak which is as good. In terms of the other people - the one of the Kefalonia meat pies was burnt which was a shame and the other wasn’t but was a bit dry and needed some gravy - which other restaurants offer. The main meals like moussaka and pie need a salad or vegetable to go with it as you do only get the pie or the moussaka - so not a complaint but just a suggestion. You also can’t order a salad separately to go with it even if you fancy it. The staff were accommodating in that we had a vegetarian with a nut allergy and they managed to make a lovely pasta dish. All in all the food is fantastic on the whole - just a few dishes needed a bit more attention to detail. We were a large table of 10 people and service as a good speed. Would go back & worth a visit.

The “Breezy” zucchini salad was fantastic the traditional Kefalonia pie could have been more herby in the filling but the crust was perfection - really obvious that this kitchen knows what they’re doing delivering contemporary twists on traditional local food and produce! The homemade lemonade is also very welcome on a summer afternoon!

We went here twice as they fried chicken was so nice , was lovely sitting near the sea, wind was warm, had a lovely time, my husband had the bream first and lamb chops second , he loved both, I had the fried chicken twice as it was so nice , my friends had chicken and lamb chops, the only downfall was the service, we had to wait a long time , but I think there was not enough staff , the second time we went there was the same. Took a long time for them to take order and got served our food, but it was very busy, so I did not mind waiting as their fried chicken is the best, the other thing I really did not like was the waitress could hardly speak english, that didn’t matter but she was speaking Greek to the people sitting next to us, they were locals, and we knew they said something about us and were all laughing and looking at us, did not like that service , but the gentleman who served us was so nice, he was run off his feet, service by him was brilliant , the second photo us if a mixed plate, we asked for pork and jamb chops, plate for two people £25, was well worth it

We stopped here for some food and drink after getting the ferry here from agostoli. Lovely views of the hills, sea and very relaxing to watch the boats sailing around. We ordered the fried squid, pork belly, courgette fritters and vine leaves. The fritters were exceptional and definitely the best part of the meal. Everything else was good and cant complain. Staff were friendly and attentive.

I don’t want to exaggerate anything—we were 13 people at the table. The food is good, and I’m not a hypocrite, I’ll admit that. But the service is lacking, or perhaps the chef preparing the orders is the issue. The dishes arrived one by one, and I had to ask about my mussels only after everyone else had finished eating. I don’t think it’s normal for a restaurant like this not to have octopus, though I can overlook that. What I can’t overlook is that the mussels were served after everyone had already eaten.

We ordered two pork souvlaki. Given the wait, something around 30 to 40 minutes, and the price (definitely not cheap), our expectations were high. Unfortunately the food was served cold; moreover, the quality of the food was neutral. You can find better place where to have dinner inside the island with better price and quality

An unpleasant experience! This is the first negative review I've given in Greece. We were looking at the menu displayed on the street, we saw rabbit, a waiter noticed that we were looking at rabbit, he intervened saying that they have the best rabbit. We sat down at the table, in 5 minutes the menus came, then after another 15 minutes they came not to take the order and when we were to order at first they started complaining that the rabbit had been finished for a long time. We got up and left. Conclusion: they lure you in that they have everything on that menu, thinking that lying to you that they have everything even though in reality they only have a few dishes, once seated at the table you will even order something else like all cheap merchants do. I saw that they have good reviews, but things are not that delicious. I personally do not recommend this location in any case.

This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The staff were shockingly rude, unfriendly, and made us feel completely unwelcome. We were served raw, undercooked souvlaki that was impossible to eat. After complaining, we were assured it would not appear on the bill — yet the waiter sneakily added it anyway, clearly trying to cheat us. That kind of dishonesty is outrageous. The food was terrible, the service was disgraceful, and the whole atmosphere was uncomfortable. It honestly felt like the staff couldn’t care less about their customers. If you value your time, money, or health, avoid this place at all costs. Absolutely awful and not worth even considering. 😡😡😡

Oh dear no. Our first night in Lixouri and we walked along the sea front restaurants and picked this restaurant from amongst many others. We ordered a carafe of wine 🍷 (so far, so good), however, unfortunately they didn’t have either of our first choice starters or main courses, nor our second choice starters and main courses. Their reason from the waiter “it’s the end of the season” (it’s only mid September?) and not a situation we experienced at any other restaurant on our holiday. It started a conversation about what do you have? TBF we should have moved onto another restaurant but we had started the wine so felt obliged to stay (we couldn’t really take the carafe with us!) Starters were forgettable. Mains were Stifado for me (which was nothing special and I’ve had a lot better elsewhere) and an aubergine dish for my wife which wasn’t good in terms of texture and presentation which she didn’t eat (the restaurant owner took it off our bill). So unfortunately our advice is to avoid this restaurant - there are many better in Lixouri including Alvi and Tsibibo (especially on Monday Greek nights).

I love seafood and I love pasta. But here, my fisherman’s pasta was a major disappointment. Overcooked noodles, undercooked seafood, and bad sauce. I only took a few bites and couldn’t finish it. However, my friend came the night before and said it was good so maybe it was just my experience? Either way I did not enjoy it. I guess try it for yourself and see

Great family-run pizza place with immaculate vibes! The excellent wood-fired pizza filled us up and the service was even better. The waiters would even speak with the guests in a very natural manner. My girlfriend and I enjoyed watching the sun set on the Aenos mountain range. Would recommend!

Big portions, reasonable price and very helpful staff. We were given free homemade desserts which tasted amazing. 2 pizzas and 2 drinks were €29, the pizzas were that big we took half home each to have the next day.

we had an exceptional pizza as well as a fillet steak cooked to perfection! Then an amazing chocolate lava cake with ice cream that was delicious. We were very pleased with our meal and the warm family service!

Don’t ever make the mistake and visit that restaurant! When we arrived to that restaurant which is located in Lixouri, Kefalonia adjacent to the sea, we were greeted by a waitress who told us that she was very sorry to inform us that the food will be delayed to be served around 45 minutes. Due to the fact that we had already made a reservation the day before, we decided to stay. To our surprise, not only did the waitress delayed 20 minutes to take our order but also we spend more than an hour(even though it should come after 45 minutes ) waiting for the food to be served to our table (not to mention that they brought it at one hour of delay as we were flew off the handle and finally complained). Coming to a conclusion the food wasn’t that good at all so as to deserve the delay and if you really want to sample Italian food in lixouri, there are way better restaurants(not only fancy) to visit and be treated with an appropriate service and eat great food.Also the day after, we asked -due to curiosity- some locals about that restaurant and the confirmed that its service had always been appalling and the food is always delayed to be served( 45 - 50 minutes) despite how crowd the restaurant is.

The pizza was tasty, with a nice thin crust. The risotto was good, but could be better with less salt. We were the only customers at the time we were there, and we both thought the atmosphere was a bit strange.

Lovely food, lots of flavour. For my preference just a bit too much cheese but lots of toppings too. Pizza is big enough to share. Good service, sea view we would recommend here.

We visited Butler’s House on our final night after seeing so many positive reviews online, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype for us. The experience started off well — the front of house host was friendly and welcoming, and although we had to wait a couple of minutes for a table, it wasn’t an issue. However, once seated, we waited quite a while before anyone came to take our order. When a server finally arrived, they didn’t seem particularly friendly, and we were told that some of the dishes my family had been looking forward to were no longer available, which was disappointing. That said, other servers we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant are definitely a highlight — it’s full of charm and character, and the antique decor downstairs adds a unique touch. Food-wise, service was fairly quick, but there were a few major issues. My dish came out with cheese despite clearly requesting it without, and worse, there was a bug crawling in my mom’s food. Staff explained that their garnishes come from their garden, but you’d expect them to be properly washed before reaching the plate. The food was taken away and brought back suspiciously quickly, leading us to believe it was simply “fixed” and returned. Considering the bug was crawling in the sauce of her meal, this wasn’t great. On a positive note, they did provide a takeaway box for my sister’s leftovers, which was appreciated. Overall, while the place itself has a lovely vibe and the food is nicely presented, the experience didn’t match the high expectations or the price.

Such an amazing restaurant! Me and me boyfriend went 4 times in 6 days. At the door, you meet a very nice man, who i believe is the owner. All the waiters and staf members are very helpful and reconized us after a while! The food is really good! I had the ‘stuffed baked mushrooms’ appetizer 4 times in a row, it was amazing. They also bring the food out really quick. The venue is incredible. Everywhere you look, you see beautiful decorations. We’ll be back next summer, and we’ll definetely visit this restaurant! Wow, what a special restaurant!! Lovely hospitality, professional staff, excellent food. Every corner of the restaurant is decorated with special old objects, downstairs on the way to the restrooms you feel like you are entering a combination of a museum and a trip back in time with lots of objects of historical significance. Of course the food is excellent, we especially loved the shrimp sagnaki starter, the pork steak which was huge and delicious, seabass grilled to perfection, delicious stuffed peppers and wine at a ridiculous price. Amazing meal and experience!!

1,000,000 Stars! Butler’s House in Lassi is an absolute gem! The food is beyond excellent – every bite bursting with flavour. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, creating an atmosphere that’s both elegant and welcoming. Greece truly has the most kind, warm, and hospitable people in the world, and this place is living proof of that. The staff make you feel like family from the moment you arrive. An unforgettable dining experience – we’ll be back again and again!

Spacious area. Great food and great service. Elaborate menu and for us all the dishes were tasty. Here I enjoyed the stuffed vine leaves the most out of all the restaurants. They offer some tasty local wines as well.

One of the best places in Kefalonia. The food was excellent. Their grilled veggies were really tasty and so soft. The service was excellent and the recommended dishes were a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend the place. I went there with my boyfriend and we were so happy that we went for dinner also the day after.

I can confidently say this is probably the best restaurant in Kefalonia. Everything we tried from the menu was absolutely delicious! Possibly the best garlic prawns I’ve ever had, and definitely the best baklava we tried on the island. The staff were very professional, polite and spoke excellent English, which made the experience even better. Honestly, the only downside was that we didn’t have enough days to come back and try more dishes from the menu. We’ll definitely be returning next time we’re in Kefalonia!

Phaedra is a lovely restaurant located in Lassi, Kefalonia, with a welcoming atmosphere and super friendly staff who make you feel at home from the start. The location is all outdoor, with plenty of seating and a cozy setup where you can even catch a beautiful sunset while dining. The food is truly delicious — fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The seabass is perfectly cooked and tender, while the prawns linguini is rich and full of taste — both highly recommended dishes. The fish is fresh and you can tell they really care about quality. Prices are in line with the area’s standards, and as a nice touch, they even offer you something at the end of your meal, which makes the experience even more pleasant. Overall, Phaedra is a great choice if you’re in Lassi and want to enjoy a relaxed dinner with good food, warm service, and a lovely sunset view.

We came here for the last 3 days and all I can say is that everything was perfect! The food, the service, the staff and the atmosphere! If we ever come back to Kefalonia, we will surely come back to this place!

Really good food, definitely a cut above the others on this strip. We had the saganaki cheese with tomato marmalade and kumquat confit, lovely. Then mains were the seafood souvlaki and the lamb shank in dark beer, olive oil and garlic sauce, both excellent. House rosë was quite drinkable too.

We had dinner here on a Monday night. The service was really good and the food was some of best we’ve had in Kefalonia. A nice spot in Lassi.

Absolutely lovely place for a drink and some food. I really like how there are different seating areas for just drinks, food and they are separated into smoking and non smoking areas which is a nice touch. The ladies here work so hard and really take hospitality and service to the next level. Even when me and my family just came for drinks, we were given free slices of delicious frozen cheesecake which convinced us to come back for dinner later that day. It was delicious and we were once again given complimentary cheesecake, we honestly go back just for that it's that good. The food is fresh, there's plenty of variety and it's great value for money. My favourite thing was the squid appetiser, the best calamari I've ever had, so fresh and not chewy at all. My brother had these amazing stuffed vine leaves too which I'd recommend to anyone wanting to try something new. The atmosphere is brilliant, they play wonderful greek music and there are play areas to keep children entertained.

This was so good! Very friendly, you get some flatbreads and Tzatziki, on the house. Followed by a large portion of Moussaka, straight from the oven. Then some cheesecake sorta thing, on the house. I can fault it at all, so tasty, so good. Really it was. Highly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic experience at this local taverna! The food quality and flavors were outstanding, with generous portions at very reasonable prices. We also received a complimentary local appetizer with our meal, which was delicious, and as a dessert, an incredible cheesecake for free — its taste will stay with you long after. My favourite place in Lassi! Me and my family kept coming back here on our holiday because the service was so brilliant. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food is just wonderful, you can tell it's made fresh to order and prepared with love. Everything here is very affordable, with cocktails around 6-7 euros all day! (Most places are 8 euros during happy hour) The tavern is beautiful as is it's surroundings and it is only a 5 minute walk from the beach, very convenient. The staff also give you complimentary cheesecake which is delicious and you get it if you get just drinks or food! Definitely try this place if you're in the area! ❤️

Already 3 times here and everytime was even better than previous one. The staff is very kind and works a lot for customer satisfaction. The food is amazing. They also gave us appetiziers and deserts (one of the best cheesecake that I ever ate). Also shots at the end. We will definitely come back when in Kefalonia again.

This place is great, very tasty food prepared with love and the creamy cheesecake is 😋 the ladies work very hard and look after every customer with a smile. Portions are huge so can easily be shared by two people. Cannot find better place to eat on the island, so even when we stay in the north, we still make at least one trip to the south to incorporate one meal at this gorgeous place 🥰

Had Chicken Souvlaki and loved it. Was also served with appetizer and cheesecake in the end for free. Would love to go there daily for the lunch till the time I am here.

Amazing restaurant for authentic Greek food. The vibe is very chill, waiters friendly and the food is good. When you can: try the loukoumades, they are delicious!!! The only downside were the wasps that kept swarming around the food. We moved inside and got a tray with burning cinnamon, what kept them away eventually.

Five stars all around, absolutely cannot fault anything. If I were able to give 10/5 I would. The food was incredible, well-priced and the staff were fantastic. The atmosphere sitting on the terrace looking down the mountain was beautiful. We didn’t want to leave. We went back twice in two days and we are upset we can’t make it a third. We’ve talked about coming back to Kefalonia just to eat here again. We had the honey-cider braised pork, which was so tender, perfectly grilled lamb chops and moussaka. We can recommend all of that (but the moussaka is a special, they might not have it). The house white wine was also very nice.

Very worth the visit (& drive)! The little excursion through the kitchen, to show the daily dishes, will definitely be remembered. Also the extremely friendly staff. Our vegetarian dishes have been perfectly seasoned and the dessert on the house was amazing. We enjoyed the atmosphere and view so much. Thank you for having us.

Maybe it will be better next time, but the restaurant is over hyped. Dont get fooled by the reviews - food is pretty avarage. We have ordered a plate for 2 persons, the was a mix of various metas, however, only a really small portion of frites and no vegetables at all. When we looked to the other plates, even basic souvlaki was being served with a slice of tomato and onion but nothing such was found in our plate. The waiter sensed our dissapointment as offered us a complimentary cake which was ok, but as I said, there are better restaurants and tavernas around here. The staff is 5/5 however the food needs some improvement.

Amazing place! Will definitely come back here. We were the only guests at first, but we still decided to try it out. Service was great, really friendly. We had Alexandra’s Chicken and the Pork with Orange sauce - delicious both of them!! 10/10

Very good food, traditional recipes, friendly service, nice environment, beautiful view, highly recommend!

Not sure what’s going on here. Anemic Greek salad with 0 olives, tiny amount of feta. Simple misunderstandings - pizza order was missed which wasn’t a big deal at all but lady got defensive saying we sidnt tell get yo out it in when it was the first thing we said and moved onto ordering other dishes. 2 dishes were brought to us that were not ours (1 photo shared of the sad fried potatoes that weren’t ours). Another pizza was brought to us then taken away, when we already had ours. None of this was a bother to us, just needs some refining for this price level as it is not a pool snack bar nor are the prices cheaper here than anywhere else. Servers working very hard, did a fine job. Food just wasn’t good, half warm and of course the disrespect to call that a Greek salad. Nice atmosphere in the square, would certainly return elsewhere. Only due to the lack of care to the taste and quality of the food, I wouldn’t return here.

I had a lovely time at Premier. I was greeted by Thanos who told me about the dishes of the day. I opted for salmon it was cooked to perfection. To drink I had a Premier Mai Tai. Although smaller than I was expecting it was absolutely delicious. To end I was served a delicious lemon ice cream in a cute cone. Thank you Thanos and Simon for your exceptional hospitality. Excellent restaurant with professional and friendly service. We ordered delicious Italian dishes—pizza, tomato pasta, and four-cheese pasta—all perfectly prepared. For dessert, we enjoyed outstanding Greek cakes: semolina-orange cake, baklava, and a semolina cake infused with liqueur. A wonderful culinary experience!

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! We have just had 24 nights travelling around Kefalonia, and our two visits here over the past few days have been the gastronomical highlight of our holiday. My husband and I both appreciate good service as well as good food, and Premier delivers on both counts. Thank you to Thanos, Ileas, and ALL the team here. 110% recommend to everyone!

A lovely spot for dinner in the square. Lovely atmosphere and attentive servers. I had a lovely mocktail which was delicious. Food was very reasonably priced. Even got a free dessert! Would highly recommend

By far, the best restaurant in Kefalonia. We’ve been here for more than 3 weeks, eating out every night and the service and food here stand head and shoulders above anything else we’ve experienced. Thanos and his staff are the epitome of everything great that you expect from a memorable dining experience.

Good location overlooking the sea and sunset. Clean indoor and outside seating. Separate bar area with seating. Service was well timed and friendly. Menu has a wide variety of options. Food very good and very reasonable prices. Recommended to all.

Happy hour between 6-9 and applies to most cocktails. Live greek music on Tuesday and Sundays - the bar/restaurant can get really busy so you may need to reserve a table in the restaurant on those days. Sky sports in the bar shows premier league matches. All dishes in the restaurant were cooked well with good flavours. Mixed grill for one or two is highly recommend - on the night we went they had a special to include a Greek salad & tzatziki with with mixed grill - no extra charge. Good for relaxing and late night drinks.

Fantastic fresh fish dishes kept this ol cowboy and Mrs Pardner happy. Cold Mythos beer and friendly staff. The decor was a fresh lime colour surrounded by bougainvillea. After a hard day crossing the sands of Lassi beach this was very much in order.

Cracking bar / restaurant. Happy hour cocktails only 4.5 euros each and pretty damn strong. We also ate here and the food was very good, especially the pizzas.

Good drinks. Service was ok. Didn't ask how the food was...it was horrible, tasteless and both greek specials. Never given a greek restaurant/bar a bad review until now. Music, TV sports coverage is great. Food terrible. Even the homeless cats didn't eat it. Such a shame.

Can't rate the food as we didn't eat here! Cocktails are 4 and a half euros from 6 pm until 9 pm! And they are well worth that! My half-brother lives in kefalonia and works there, he is on the food side of the business! Pop in and say hi!

I am not sure why this place has 3.6 stars, the waitress we had multiple times was extremely sweet, even keeping our beers cold as we were going to the beach after. We are from America, where the pizza is great, and the pizza here is pretty darn good. We must have had it close to 5 times on this trip. Cheap and delicious, this place deserves better reviews!

The worst service I have ever had in Kefalonia- in the last 15 years of coming to the island! Stopped to have a drink at 2PM in the afternoon - to an almost empty restaurant. When we were asked if we were ordering food, we said just a couple of drinks for now - we were asked to move tables as this table was set up for food. Just because we were sitting at a table with more comfortable chairs than the ones they said we could sit at. Absolute disgrace.

Decent food, but our first two options in the menu were not available. The waitress looks tired, which is not a surprise since she was the only one covering all table during lunch. The restaurant is good and offers both Italian and Greek food, making easier to accommodate when travelling with more people.

Food was so average. Mussels were cold , lamb chops were mainly fat. The octopus was just average. Was not worth the price. Service was minimal. Plenty of better restaurants in the square. Definitely not coming back

Service slow waited 20.mins to order and get a drink. Didn't find the waiter very friendly seemed more interested what was going on around than listening to what we wanted. Food was ok nothing mind blowing,.bread was warm and butter lovely that was really good.Wouldn't go again. Atmosphere was good because your in the square Saturday evening and buzzing

We dined at Tanu's the evening we arrived, and it was quite late at 930pm when we dined. It was a very warm evening and they conveniently sat us under a fan. The service from everyone was very good, they were friendly, patient and explained the dishes we were unfamilar with. Between us we ordered 3 starters: Chicken wings, Bruscetta and Feta cheese in Filo pastry - both were very good. For mains we had a Spaghetti Carbonarra, Penne al Crema, Moussaka and a Pizza. All the food was good, the Moussaka being the best dish - very tasty and a large portion. The total bill came to €91 for 3 starters, 4 mains and 6 drinks. Great service from the team and we would return again.

Wow what an amazing restaurant. Food and service probably the best we had in Lassi / Kefalonia. Saw lots walking past as it looks a bit like a cafe type but that was there bad luck. Waiters where brilliant and the food was to die for, miss this place at your peril.

Staff were friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was clean, tidy with large fans circulating air. Was much cooler and pleasant after the sun went below the horizon. All dishes were excellent quality with great flavours. Expect very large portions, salad/chips with most dishes. Can highly recommend the Seabass and the moussaka was the best we had in Lassi (although could have been shared between two people it was so large). In summary: great tasting Greek dishes, good for groups of all sizes and family friendly - highly recommended.

Mumsy travels - A good restaurant which is family friendly and nice outside eating area. Drinks are reasonably priced and the service is friendly and polite. The calamari was very good and pork gyros was really tasty. Would recommend 👌

The food here was fantastic and the staff were super friendly! Given the quality and quantity of the food (3 starters to share, 2 mains & 4 drinks) we were expecting to be around €55-€60 so were really surprised when the bill came and it was only €41. Excellent value for money!

Food was very good. We had traditional dishes which were good size portions and tasted excellent. I recommend the Kelftiko. Service was perfect and swift. Atmosphere is chilled and there is a sea view but by the main road so not completely perfect. Prices are very reasonable and would definitely go back.

We visited on a Monday for their Greek live music night (which they only have on Mondays), and we had a reservation (the restaurant isn't big, so it would be very difficult to get a table without one). The appetizers were absolutely delicious—the best feta fried in dough with honey and sesame seeds I've ever tried. The fried cheese was also incredibly tasty. For my main course, I had the sea bass, and it was delicious as well. Portions are generous—I ended up taking half home because it was just too much! Highly recommend visiting for dinner. Overall, it was a great experience!

Lovely restaurant for an evening meal - we got here early (about 6.30pm) and there was plenty of space - it filled up later on. Food was lovely - well cooked and delicious, plus the service was fast, friendly and attentive. The sausage starter and the Greek bruschetta were particularly good. We passed the place later the same week and it was music night with some local musicians which gave it a great atmosphere. It's right in the centre of the main shopping street so a good place for people watching too. A great place for some good food.

Last night was probably the best dinner so far in Lixouri ! It was live music night and I had prebooked a table ( smart move as many were turned away as the music was drawing them in ) Very warm welcome on arrival and drinks orders quickly as it was still around 30c at 8.30pm so refreshment was badly needed. Whilst we perused our menus a bread basket and tapenade was provided. So to kick things off I had the Greek sausage and my wife the Belly Pork , both generous portions and bags of flavour. For mains it was Angry Pasta for me ( penne in a nice sauce with chilli flakes ) my Missus had stuffed vegetables and oven potatoes. Both were absolutely bang on but the Penne was the standout. Our waitress was nice & engaging and as the music flowed so did the drinks 😁 A perfect evening with special mention to the kitchen staff for smashing it 👏👏👏 No hesitation in recommending and will dine here again.

Went here on a Greek night, the music was excellent but let down by average food, I had a Kleftico which is my absolute favourite dish but it was burnt on top ( should be slow cooked) service was poor inattentive and my daughter received her stater as our mains arrived and it wasn’t even busy by then. Such a shame as the place is lovely. The so called Greek nation guy was a bit of a let down , music was brilliant but I was expecting dancing and of course plate smashing but this didn’t happen.

We enjoyed a good meal and Monday Greek night entertainment (live music starts at 8pm make a reservation to avoid disappointment because walk in people were turned away). Starter of mixed mushrooms which we shared was top marks in terms of taste, freshly cooked, quality and quantity (huge portion). We both had chicken risotto which was tasty but the chicken overcooked (we think they had used pre-cooked souvlaki chicken so it had effectively been cooked twice). We watched the dishes coming out of the kitchen and they looked good quality and large portions. Would we recommend and go back? Yes x2.

Delicious stuffed mushrooms for starters, combined with a stuffed tenderloin for mains, followed by the traditional fig cake with cream and ice cream. The food was delicious, sizeable and priced very reasonably. Coffee was delicious as well, with the Freddo Cappuccino delivering well. Service was kind, prompt, and inquired about our home country (if you're talkative). Again, delicious food. Note that the stuffed, and spicy, tenderloin is baked.

Nice looking restaurant. Food was good however it took a very long time to come out to us even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Our waiter seemed very disinterested and in a rush to move away from us. When bringing out our food he put the plates down all over not even taking care of our belongings which were on the table

Really relaxed restaurant with cocktail bar behind. The staff were always friendly and attentive. Food is simple and uncomplicated but really tasty, one of the best meals we had on our last Lassi visit. My wife and I both had beef stifado, which was really delicious.

I come here every time I visit the island, wonderful staff who make us feel at home every year, the owner Gabbiano greets us each time. Best mousakka I've tried on this island and never have a meal that's not excellent

The food was like bad school dinners (bland and either dry or greasy and mine had a hair in it) the service was slow and stroppy (it took over an hour to get some of our food). I would not recommend and i won't be going back. There are a lot of nice restaurants on the street.

We were here multiple times in September 2024 and thought possibly the best cocktails in lassi... Strawberry daiquiri and any ice-cream shake... There's a couple of other great places admittedly but come back now in June 2025 and of the places we came to before here, this is hands down the best so far! Just wished I lived here so I could enjoy this all the time! Please do yourself a favour and try the il gabbiana bar!

Simple, honest Greek food for the everyday man. My goodness that rizzoni with veal was amazing. Packed with flavour with every bite. So was the braised calamari. Do yourself a favor - come early before things run out. Note to self: Take away from Tzivras would go down real well for a road trip and lunch at a secluded beach.

We were recommended by a local to try this restaurant as we wanted traditional Greek food. The Moussaka was the best we've had. Great value for money and great tasting traditional Greek food.

First of all the sushi was good, but the service was completely bad, we ordered 2 extra mayo sauce, but they didn’t bring any with the sushi, we had to remind the waiter, then he brought only one, and they made us pay for 2 as you see on the receipt, and when we first arrived at the restaurant, there was plenty of tables available but once we came the waiter told us she doesn’t have a place for 3 without even checking or looking , she answered right away with no efforts of showing that she cares to let us in, but then another guy came(who looked like he was in charge) and he let us in smoothly, lastly the place where we were sitting was pouring water from a pipe on one of my friends, so it wasn’t the best experience, also the waiter refused to divide the amount by 3 which is something so easy to do, i wouldn’t recommend this place considering its high prices and low quality service :/

Who would've thought a sushi restaurant in kefalonia would be the best food we ate on our trip. Not cheap but Great food. And presented so well. Delicious flavouring. Very friendly staff. So good that we ate here twice in our 5 night stay on the island. Highly recommend.

A very disappointing meal, lacked taste, presentation, and was very over priced. Don't bother, save yourself the pain. Staff very good and polite, but let down with the quality. Rice appeared to be microwaved having had hard bits in it. The chicken chow maine looked like packet noodles you can get in the UK for 50p with hardly any chicken, and no taste. Told the staff who just said to let the chef know, wasn't happy to pay for sub standard food.

Service is very low level and it seems like there’s no communication between the waiters as the 2 waiters regularly wanted to do what the other waiter had already done (such as setting the table, etc.). Took a long time for basic things - when we told a waiter that we are ready to order, it took around 5 minutes until the other waiter came to take our order, as well as 5 minutes until we got the receipt after asking to pay (it wasn’t busy at the time). They have a big list of coffee although none of the coffee is available - “We don’t have coffee”. The egg fried rice tasted nothing like it should - there was a lot of pepper added despite having no need for it in any real recipe, and there was 0 soy sauce and spring onions, as well as not a lot of egg, mostly just carrot and peas. It was also quite pricy for what it was - around 10eur for just 1 egg fried rice dish, which wasn’t even authentic.

Well what can I say this Chinese is the best we have ever eaten ,I don’t think they do portion control the food was exceptional we ate in there a few times while on holiday and it never disappointed the staff were friendly and helpful and the ambience of the restaurant was was nice

We have been customers for 23 years, since the restaurant was in Lassi. Lately the quality has deteriorated (too salty) and the prices have skyrocketed. €17 for a dish, really? In other countries, Chinese is the go-to budget food. No wonder the place was half-empty on a Friday night in July. Also, now they only deliver through Wolt, which is a pain to order and costs extra.

Such a good Chinese...!! Kefalonia is so lucky to have this high quality Chinese restaurant! I often order (they deliver) and in high season I often eat there with friends and family. Friendly atmosphere, really good food and views over the square... Highly recommended!!

The best Greek salad and traditional meatballs meze I've had, hands down! The salad was huge but most of all - super tasty cheese and sweet peppers, and PINK tomatoes! And the athmosphere is soo nice! I recommend!

We were very pleased with the food they offered, an authentic menu. The location looks pretty fancy, beautiful garden. We‘ve had meatballs and the veggie burgers, they were also very uncomplicated to change the side dish (fries) into cabbage carrot salad. We didn‘t give 5 stars because they were out of sea food and some beers. However, we‘d totally come here again!

We wen't there two times because we really enjoyed the food and the location. This restaurant is located in a small side street out of the way of the main street but near enough for a short stroll. The appetizers are really really good and it is a good idea to combine a few of them together to have a rich variety of Greek food to taste. The "small" grill plate isn't so small and you can definitely eat it together with some appetizers together with friends. It is very quiet in this street and you can sit on their porch. Everyone spoke English and was very friendly.

Went here several times during our stay in Argostoli. Twice to eat (delicious meze/small plates) and once for drinks.(Recommend Mamos beer/rakimelon/Robola wine :) Frequented by locals, this place is really pretty, welcoming and prompt service - but it does get busy so get there between 8 and 9 if you want to eat and enjoy the authentic atmosphere. In a back street between the harbourfront and main square- a great find!

What an outstanding find this was on our recent honeymoon! We were staying at nearby Apollonion hotel and visited Antonello’s for lunch on multiple occasions as the delicious authentic Greek food at great prices and excellent service is simply amazing - if we could give more than 5 stars we would! The Gyros was especially delicious. When we visit Kefalonia again we’ll be heading straight back here!

We discovered this Taverna towards the end of our stay in Kephalonia, so could only visit twice. The food is amazing. The chicken salad and the three kebabs on pitta where our favourites. The service was excellent and the atmosphere relaxing and welcoming. Totally recommend for a wonderful meal. It is very close to Xi beach and there is parking available.

I ascended to heaven when i took a bite of their Feta pita, packed with so much flavour. if i am to return to Lixouri, i will only eat here. lovely family owned and run restaurant, home of the best pitas ever.

A lovely family restaurant by the sea. I tried sea bream here for the first time – the fish was incredibly delicious, tender and juicy. Paired it with an Aperol – a perfect match. Highly recommended!

We had an incredible experience at this beach restaurant, undoubtedly one of the best in Kefalonia. The food was exceptional; we enjoyed octopus carpaccio, smoked zucchini and tomato balls, and monkfish fillet, each dish rich in flavor and expertly crafted. The owner is not only welcoming but also incredibly helpful, preparing us spectacular cocktails of his own choise. The staff were equally professional and friendly, making the entire atmosphere warm and inviting. We brought along our two dogs, who were welcomed and had a great time too. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

My partner and I walked along the Xi beach today we walked left and carried on for about 10 minutes in the surf. We came across some blue sunbeds and decided perfect. We walked up to Sparos taverna around 1pm. This was was behind us and had a lovely mini brunch with a cool drink for my partner and a mythos for me. Good service lovely traditional home made food..... 👌

Wow .. had a nice time at Argostoli coffee Break restaurant. Been there quite few times but never bothered to write a review but today I am doing it so everyone should know but it. The sitting area is nice , you can have your meal by seeing beautiful view and fresh air. The staff were very friendly. We ordered 3 chicken wraps for 3 of us and I ordered 1 kit-kat shake for me which was outstanding. Our order took 5 mins to arrive. The chicken wraps were so good 10/10. Definitely if you in Argostoli must go and try their food. Well I’ll be back there for sure.

This's 1st time i come here..surprisely they have very comfort coffee shop...the coffee frappe is the best i love it...and the donut really out of the box..very yummy..i give 5 star for this coffee shop

The pride of ownership really shows in this little coffee and snack bar. Their sandwiches are proudly on display in a well refrigerated case, along with fresh fruits, vegetables, smoothie ingredients, and a fully stocked well-trained barista prepared to make you any coffee drink, or variant that you could desire. The tables are clean. The bathrooms are immaculate, which is a lot to be said for a downtown Kefalonia establishment. The people who own this shop deserve extra acclaims for making a friendly environment as well as a clean, healthy and inviting place to stop for a snack or a visit. Great place to have breakfast or a snack near the port. Kind of Starbucks but in my opinion way better. They serve pastry. The croissants are good and also the hot chocolate. Not very expensive if you consider that you are in a touristic place. They have places to seat outside and inside. It is visited by many locals. The waiters are very friendly. It has wi-fi and delivery service.

If you love coffee, local vibes and fresh baked goods - stop here. Had a quad espresso and chocolate croissant. O.M.G. delish!

Now called Anthonys, maybe to rebrand and hide from previous bad ratings? Well unfortunately it hasn't helped much. It was just meh, okay in every aspect. Staff friendly but fairly slow. Food uninspired and lacking flavour. Only positive was big portion sizes. Bread was 1 tiny role with no dip, for $1 each, which is disappointing. The location is obviously great, but so are the other many restaurants next to it. You aren't going to have a bad meal but I wouldn't go back. sorry.

There are no words to describe this place, first of all it was delicious, everything was perfect, fish, stuffed tomatoes or tzatziki everything was delicious, waiting time was perfect to finish the starter and move on to the main course, service at the highest level, the owner was very nice, a golden man, you just want to come back! Read previous reviews but decided to give it ago. Staff was friendly and good service. We ordered Sea Bream and Sea Bass with fries and salad. Good size portions and nicely cooked. Cleared our plates. As we enjoyed our dinner so much, we decided to have dessert, kataifi and baklava. Yummy.

Not only a beautiful location on the waters edge with a lovely atmosphere but the food wonderful. Everything ordered was so fresh & cooked to perfection accompanied with a warm and friendly service. We highly recommend the sword fish. We've been coming to Kefalonia for many years & never have we ever had sword fish to this standard. And finally.... the price was unbeatable! Thank you for the food experience... we'll be back!

Greek restaurant with plenty of excellent vegan options; the plant based pastichio and mousaka were creatively made and absolutely delicious. Fresh salads, greens, and local cheeses; their french fries were some of the best we tasted. Excellent local wine as well. Please don't expect speedy service; things are made to order here (unless you go to a fast food place) so be patient and enjoy the amazing views of the Lixouri port & the Ionian Sea.

Second visit this year , staff were very friendly and the food is great hence the second visit .

To be honest - after 2 weeks on the island - for us it was the best restaurant, with the tastiest food. Let me go into more details: - For starters, I tried Grandma's mushrooms and what a good choice it was! Their tomato sauce with onions & garlic was delicious. Next was the shrimp saganaki, which was also amazingly delicious! One note here: as you'll see from the pictures, they're not small shrimps but the larger prawns. And my girlfriend tried the aubergine saganaki. It was very good but a bit too oily. She also tried the Farmer's salad. It was good, with fresh ingredients, only it had lots of cabbage and very little lettuce. Some arugula would have been really nice. The second time we came here I tried the baked feta... it was the best baked feta on the island! And my girlfriend tried the Afrodisiac salad this time, which we both agreed was tastier than the Farmer's salad. Its honey vinaigrette dressing was so delicious, it had lots of lettuce and pomegranate seeds. Really, really good! - For the mains, one of the day's special was the Mousaka, a dish which I really like... and it was very good. I did have tastier Mousakas but not on this island :) It was in Crete. You have to understand we've been on quite a few greek islands and tried many Mousakas, plus it's a dish my mother and my girlfriend's mother prepare, so I have a lot of examples to compare with :) This one was certainly better than in other places in Kefalonia. Last but surely not least, we had a grilled fresh sea bass, which was wild (not from the farm!). It was properly cooked, not dry at all and simply delicious! - For dessert, we just had to try the homemade cheesecake. It was absolutely delicious, with a well balanced taste that wasn't too sweet. And my girlfriend says that it was probably not baked in the oven. But the second time we went we also tried the homemade orange pie with ice cream. What a deliciously light desert it was! By far the best orange pie I ever ate in the entire Greece! Not too sweet but instead smooth and easy to going. We both loved it! And I also did get the freshly squeezed orange juice, which had no ice cubes (hurray! because I don't want them) and the oranges were from the fridge so it had just the right temperature.

We visited Captain Nikolas Family Tavern for the first time and followed the lady’s recommendations. We had the sea bass and lamb, both absolutely exceptional. We enjoyed it so much that we came back a second time for the tyrokafteri and gyros (once again, everything was outstanding). The lady and the staff were incredibly kind, and we felt truly welcomed. The sea view from above is stunning, especially at sunset. Highly recommend making a reservation to ensure a table with a view. We’ll definitely return with joy!

Amazing place, with wonderful atmosphere and serving! The pace is owned by a very nice and kind family, with super dishes! The portokalopita made by the grandma is the best I have ever tried! A must try place, from my point of view!

Beautiful and romantic place to have a meal. There’s a lovely view of the sea, and you can even catch a bit of the sunset. The atmosphere is wonderful with the décor and the purple trees (unfortunately, I don’t know their name). This is a family-run business serving delicious Greek dishes. I had a stuffed squid with feta, tomatoes, and onions — it was absolutely delicious. The service was extremely friendly, the food was excellent, and the prices are, in my opinion, very reasonable.

Fantastic tasting food set in a beautiful atmosphere operated by charming and friendly staff - absolute charm of a restaurant. We had the fried squid and the shrimp saganaki and both were flawless.

It is an authentic Greek family tavern with delicious dishes, all the dishes based on meat, fish and seafood have a perfect taste. Here we ate the best stuffed squid with feta and vegetable. After eating here the first time we came back twice even though it was about seven km from our accommodation in Lixouri to eat dinner here. The food is diverse, cooked with taste and style, and the prices are low. The tavern is located in a fabulous landscape close to the sea with lots of greenery and beautiful flowers. The owner of the tavern Mrs. Yana, the soul of the tavern, always welcomed us warmly, she is a pleasant person, and her delicious dishes are cooked together with her family. There are enough parking spaces in front of the property.

A lovely spot on the main Square. They have vegan and vegetarian options, and are listed separately in their menu. They also have Kefalonian Beer which I high recommend!! I had the vegan chicken gyros plate and it was very fresh and delicious. My husband had lamb and he enjoyed it also. A great place to go if anyone if you group doesn’t eat meat, but the rest of you want to. Near the waterfront and close to the ferry to Argostoli. We go everytime we are in town.

Nice restaurant with large outdoor dining area. The service was very good and the staff speak good English. The food arrived quickly and tasted very nice. All the seafood we ate was very fresh and the prices were reasonable. We ate the shrimp and crayfish pasta for 2 people which was very nice as was the cold octopus salad.

Our best lunch all week! We ordered a meat platter and a corner Greek salad. The bread on the salad was the best I have ever tasted and the portion sizes were very generous. Service was welcoming and pleasant.

We stayed in lixouri for 4 nights three of them we spent here! The cocktails were lovely (happy hour is 2-8pm) the staff were fabulous really friendly especially the little older guy he knew people from our way in England and spent time talking to us about this..the smash patty burger oh my..my partner is so fussy and he had this two nights(they adapted it to him) as did I it was so fabulous (I had mine as it is on menu) The place is so relaxed in a lovely setting..just brilliant! We will definitely visit lixouri again..and eat/drink here!

What a place! First off, this is the only proper restaurant in the area. Sure, you might grab a bite at one of the beach bars, and it might not be bad, but if you want a proper dining experience and delicious Greek food, this is the place to go. We came on our first day for lunch and ended up having lunch here every single day. The atmosphere is relaxed, the view is beautifull, the music is chill, the food is amazing, the staff is nice. For dinner, you might need a reservation.

I have very mixed feelings about the place. The restaurant itself is very nice and the view is amazing. But charging dining guests 10€ for sunbeds on a tiny beach covered by seaweed is uncalled for. Toilets have no seats. This is absolutely unacceptable. The food was uneven. Grilled calamari and fried tomatoes were amazing. Fried anchovies were fried in stale oil, so they were bitter we could not eat them. Garlic in pasta was burnt so much that they looked as bits of charcoal.

It was really amazing. The calmness of the environment. The children were playing in the beach and we were vibing and drinking soft drinks. And of course the staff was very friendly

So disappointed . We have 2 people recommending your restaurant . Ordered the swordfish , arrived on a sheet of lettuce that’s it and tasted like it’s been in the fridge for a couple of days . Little seasoning and bland. My wife ordered mussels , arrived in a liquid water flavour whatever . Beautiful surroundings , such a pity on less than average food . Mamos beer was great . Really great food and atmosphere. The floor is sand, the view is dreamy - all you can wish for. There is a mural of Momo Kapor, famous Serbian writer, who spend some time while writing a novel "Anglos" that takes place in Greece.

For a day in Vatsa Bay, make Spiaggia Vatsa your base. The tavern is located on the beach, in a deep shade and cool sand under feet instead of floor. Spiros and his daughter Evropi run the place. This is an authentic local tavern to enjoy in a Greek way: slow food and slow service. From probably the best coffee in Kefalonia, to great selection of wild fish of the day, everything is very enjoyable. Because Vatsa is not a mainstream location, the tavern is never crowded or loud, just like the whole bay. There is a parking for guests. With a little luck, you will sit at the same table where Serbian painter and novelist Momo Kapor used to spend time, and where he wrote his book „Anglos“. There is his portrait at the entrance, and also a remembrance plate above the table. Thanks to its authenticity, it is easy to fall in love with this place.

As someone who worked at Ksouras Taverna Restaurant for a month, I can honestly say it was a great experience. I had to leave for personal reasons, but during my time there, I was truly impressed. The kitchen is exceptionally clean — one of the cleanest I’ve seen in my professional experience. The management is organized, respectful, and fair, and the team works together with great communication and positivity. It’s also clear how much they care about their guests — the hospitality and attention to detail are at a very high level. It was a pleasure to be part of the team, even for a short time.

We have been visiting this restaurant for several years now and our experience is consistently excellent. The food is of high quality and always prepared with great flavor. The staff are exceptionally friendly and work with remarkable dedication, even during the busiest moments. The view from the restaurant is stunning and adds to the relaxed atmosphere. The beach beds, along with the accompanying service, are a valuable addition: orders are delivered quickly and professionally to the beach, making the stay even more comfortable. Both the restaurant and the bar unquestionably deserve a perfect 10 in our opinion. The consistent quality, hospitality, and ambiance make this a place we are happy to return to year after year.

The most outstanding bay on the island and great restaurant.Always changing from big waves to calm seas like a mill pond! Fresh fish, sea bass and sea bream just to mention a few; calamari and several local dishes to suit all; washed down with a nice cold beer or the local village wine, delicious 😋 Not to mention the new cocktail bar and excellent sunbed area, what more do you need 😀

On our 2 Week Teip in Kefalonia we came like 4 or 5 times to have something to eat and to drink. The food was always perfectly cooked and very delicious. Wonderful restaurant with fresh food and seafood. Right by the waves at Petanoi beach, with an amazing view!

Should be rated much higher than other "eateries". They actually have fresh fish, well cooked, great selection of wines and dishes. Plates are pleasant and light, pasta is cooked as you prefer, we took very al dente and it was perfect. Dentex was grilled very well. Skin was super tasty and meat firm.

We tried the grilled octopus and the sea-bass fillet and had the lava cake for dessert. The food was sooo delicious and the staff was very nice. We are definitely coming back here until we leave Kefalonia. Highly recommend it!

Good food. delicious grilled veggies (I seriously recommend them), good sea bass, but the biggest drawback was the lack of sea bream and the olive oil in a sachet. Besides, when I asked to change the ingredients in my dish, I couldn't do it (it was about squid stuffed with rice and vegetables), which was disappointing because the rest was great.

Visited here on an extended stay last year and promised ourselves we would return. So here we are again, food was beautiful, beef, cheese and tomato spring rolls followed by delicious moussaka in an ashet! This is, as last year, quite possibly the best moussaka I've had on my travels. Could easily have had a 2nd helping. Excellent service, quiet little back street off main Lixouri front.

We went to Petani Taverna six times during our vacation—the best food, the best value for money. You simply have to try their moussaka, it is out of this world, and their tirokafteri is the best I have ever tasted! And the lamb chops, oh my, just divine! We had an absolutely fantastic experience! Dimitri and the senior waiter were both absolutely amazing. They were so careful, prompt and made us feel so welcome. The tavern is located in a truly idyllic setting on the way to Petani beach (a fabulous place), with an incredible view over a plain. The evenings here were absolutely amazing! I wholeheartedly recommend it!

We ended up going to Taverna Petani three nights in a row due to bad weather while staying at a nearby hotel, and it turned out to be one of our favourite restaurants of the whole holiday. The service was excellent each night – really friendly and welcoming. The food was great. Proper Greek dishes, all cooked fresh and full of flavour. The moussaka was so good I had it twice, and the mega pizza was a real highlight. Everything was reasonably priced, and the beers were ice cold. Would definitely recommend if you’re staying nearby or visiting Petani Beach.

I strongly recommend that you take someone else to this tavern when you return from Petani beach. An authentic Greek restaurant. The tastiest is moussaka and Sudjuk Saganiki.

A non-pretentious place with great starters (that's what I remember the most). It is affordable and that shouldn't be taken for granted! It's a place where a family can enjoy the view and watch the kids play on the swings while the food tastes good and not like getting an extra mortgage.

The food was outstanding, full of flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. Here’s what we ordered: Special pizza – delicious, with a perfect crust and fresh toppings. Carbonara pasta – creamy, flavorful, cooked just right. Fried zucchini – super tasty and crispy. Mixed grill platter for two – generous portion, tender meat, although slightly heavy on the chicken side. Tzatziki – fresh, garlicky, and the perfect side. Everything we ate was just amazing seriously "crazy good"! 😄 The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. The price was more than fair – we paid 89 euros for 4 people. We totally recommend this place and would gladly come back! 👏

To start: simple amazing. It is traditional Greek taverna with wonderful wineyard making shade on one part of terace. It's surrounded by nice trees and field one side, quiet, with nice backgound Greek music. Staff is friendly, patent and very polite. We got the feeling that lady that was serving us, always kept eye and was serving dishes just in right time, as we were finished with previous one. Food was really nice, domestic, very tasty and simply amazing. Everything was delicius. We had a feeling that it was made by a granny - with love. There is enough parking - even in high season. We would definetelly recommend this place if you are visiting nearby beaches or are acommodated nearby.

We wanted a traditional Greek meal and we came across Ostria... what an amazing find! The service and food were outstanding... they were friendly and helpful in telling us of the reduced menu... we have now had a variety of meals from their menu and my absolute favourite would be the prawn saganaki.. the flavour was amazing and I would highly recommend it! My husband had the pork steak and again it was full of flavour.. once we had finished our meals we were given either melon or Greek yogurt as a complimentary dessert.. a perfect finish to a perfect evening... We would highly recommend a visit if you are here... they are currently open from 5pm ... enjoy! 😋😁😀

Everything feels very homely, made with love, portions are great, definetely good value for money, most ingredients are locally produced. Absolutely worth the 3 min walk from the beach. Love this hotel! Would definitely come back. The people are so kind and helpful. The rooms are basic but perfect for one or two weeks. It’s very clean, has a friendly atmosphere, great location and a beautiful view. Also the food is very good and they have a beautiful terrace. And it’s so nice to have the friendly dogs waking around and greeting you :)

Could not have wished for a better hotel, amazing staff, amazing food and drink and amazing views. Away from the hustle and bustle of lixouri but close enough to walk in to. This hotel is very chilled and has a brilliant atmosphere and is family run. The only negative for me was the beds, not very comfortable but that's personal choice. Can't fault the cleanliness either, cleaned on a daily basis and given fresh towels.

The rooms are cleaned daily and to a good standard. The decor, as with so many places in Greece, is a bit dated, but the level of cleanliness outweighs this. The bed was comfortable and the shower was decent - even water pressure that was effective. The room I stayed in, my only two minor gripes were that the toilet seat was cracked on one side, and the way the outdoor light was positioned light shone into the room at all hours as about a third of the door was frosted glass.

Superb location, just outside Lixouri and next to the sea, this location is quiet and convenient.. The family staff are super friendly and very obliging. The best restaurant and bar areas, with comfortable settings and, good prices. Babis & Spiros are the most genuine and experienced people, you will find... These apartments are clean; well equipped but dated. Perfect for a week's holiday by the sea. The pool area is clean with sun beds available and without getting up at silly o'clock to reserve them. All have paracels but the room round the pool is quite restricted as it is a small pool. Sometimes even with the paracels it was very hard to find any shade. The walk into town was a good 20 mins walk along a coastal road. If you went up the road, the opposite way you came to a beautiful beach, so the location was good as long as you don't mind walking to the beach or town. I would return here again.

Nice apartments with good airconditioning, very helpful and friendly staff. The room was cleaned everyday by the cleaning lady’s. Also recommend eating here. Very good food!!

We came here twice, and the service is friendly and fun. It’s a family-run business. The mama also gave us olives and bread as a gift because she said we should eat more (we’re thin) 🤣. The food was very delicious. The view is right next to the sea, and, as the name suggests, three sun umbrellas stand in the water. I would definitely recommend it for a meal.

We stopped by just for a quick drink, but ended up spending the whole afternoon here. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the view over the bay was breathtaking. Lovely restaurant with great views. Food was decent, and the wait staff were very nice. However, there was about a 10 minute gap between my wife's main and mine being brought out. There is such high competition for good restaurants on the island. This one is good, but there are others I would go back to visit before this one

Going back to lixouri from our trip to Assos we stop by this family restaurant ordering 2 Linguines with shrimps and some appetisers. Although the weather wasn’t so good but we enjoyed our food. We felt like home and at the end Spiros gave us some birthday cake .

Big Portions and therefor fair price, but the salmon was a bit too salty (in combination with the salad it was ok).

Excellent breakfast/ brunch / lunch / dinner place on central Lixouri square . All variety of pancakes , omelettes , sandwiches , pizza , pasta plates , etc. coffee is also served inside. Food is tasty and well served. Large sitting area outside , small sitting area inside.

We were so excited to meet Evelyn our waitress. A native Kefalonia who has love for life. The affogato were amazing, and the fresh seasonal blend was perfect on a the hot summer morning.

Beautiful timeless cafe - very friendly staff. Air con was a bonus! A great place to go for a cool drink or somewhere to eat after exploring Luxori (we took a ferry from Argostoli and worked our way round the cafes and bars in Resistance Square ) this was by far our favourite!

My family had finished their meals before mine had even come out. The chef came over to explain chicken takes longer to cook due to salmonella, but other restaurants would simply start that first then serve all the dishes together. The meals my family had, one was nice the other the worst meal of the holiday. Cold veg and mash but the waiter said it was served like that. The bill took ages after we complained then the chef watched as my family paid the money as if we were going to run off without paying.

Amazing restaurant! We came twice during our stay, we loved both the seafood and the gyros we ordered. Definitely recommend the seafood plater for two. This one was really big and high quality. The fish was very fresh and delicious. The quality of food and way of preparing was amazing.

In the beginning I would like to say that generally I’m a chilled customer in restaurants and other services. In case of mezzo I was shocked about the self confidence of an waiter who said “we are the best restaurant in town” - a tip for you “let the service and dish talk about it self without convincing your clients” The place is located on the shore and that is the only strong point which I noticed. The food is very “touristic” targeted, you can find much better food nearby. Disgusting thing for me was the fact that all of waitress were smoking cigarettes just behind us and then they were serving food without noticing that we are with an Infant and some people just hate smoke of cigarettes.

We were waiting around 50 minutes for the salad only and for the main dishes 1 hour. It's close to the parking and it was very noisy. The fish was fresh, but it was small. I wouldn't recommend this place!

Went here for dinner before taking the ferry to Argostoli. Came with my partner and 2 small kids. Food was great, the man who worked there was very nice and attentive. Decent prices. Recommend this place. 🙂

Excellent innovative food, a mixture of Greek and international dishes,friendly professional service and stylish surroundings for reasonable prices! The feta cheese in phyllo sprinkled with sweet pistachios and the salmon fillet with wild rice were delicious! The owner greeted us and the chef personally came out to talk to us. The decor alludes to a genteel club and the pairs of port and starboard ship lights reinforce the theme. I am recommending this place to all my friends!

We enjoyed this restaurant, its' location was lovely, right on the harbour, very peaceful and ideally situated for people watching, the staff were very attentative and well mannered, the food was delicious - an extensive menu, a good mixture of fish, meat, pasta, traditional Greek, and of course the ever popular Burgers. We were surprised at how reasonable our bill at the end was, we would def recommend and return.

If you’re looking for meat then this is the place to go. We ate here several times during our holiday and their pork steak (incredibly succulent and tender) was our favourite and veal steak are the winners. Really grilled to perfection. The usual menu items like gyros etc is pretty standard so if you’re going there go for the steaks! Friendly staff and really quick service with reasonable prices.

An amazing authentic Greek grill restaurant, the food is fabulous, and Julia is a magnificent host. All the staff work tirelessly and are so friendly and welcoming, the place is very clean. The food is very good quality and reasonably priced. We would recommend the gyros, mixed grills & lamb ribs (chops). Must be good because all the locals use it as well. Well worth a visit if your staying or visiting Lixouri.

We've eaten here twice now, had mixed grill for 2 the first time and gyros portions second time (don't be fooled - the gyros portions come on a plate, so if you're after gyros as they're served at uk festivals wrapped up, it's just the Gyros, and only about €4.) Good was lovely, well priced and service was good.

A good restaurant, with tasty food and traditional Greek dishes. The location is in the very center of Lixouri, the staff is friendly, the service is impeccable. I ate the best traditional Greek Kokoretsi here

This restaurant is one of our favourites on the island, we come here multiple times every time time we are here. Some of the best Gyros and Souvlaki we have had. Great service, great atmosphere, great price. We would recommend to anybody.

This place is great if, like us, in your mind you’re still a towel on the beach sort of person, but in reality you’ve outgrown that a bit (or a lot!). Set above the beach there’s a choice of sun beds in sun or shade, or easy chairs and tables, with steps down to the beach and a swift scurry across hot sand to the sea. Great views. Very attentive service. The food is beach bar food and rated as such. Burgers are excellent. The value is brilliant. The sun beds are free if you spend £30 on food and drink. A couple of large beers, a couple of coffees and a shared main meal. Highly recommended

If you want to have desserts in form of cocktails come here. If you want to experience the kind of cocktails you've never imagined seeing before come here. Bartender actually knows how to do REAL cocktails. I came here with my wife to have one drink each and ended up having so many more just to taste them all. Service and atmospehere was just off the roof. I cant pressure the cocktails. You don't come here to have beer or wine have a cocktail when you feel that you deserve to have a vacation in style.

The place was amazing although the service was awful extremely slow and they forgot about us more than two times that we called them. The food was decent and our drinks were just fine. I think that they should inform their servers and help them improve.

My worst experience in Cefalonia, they seem to hate you when you speak with them. The food is expensive and really not good. The only thing which saves this place is the beautiful location, but I suggest you to eat somewhere else on the beach.

Horrible experience. When you arrive you don't feel welcomed. The sandwich was too dry, food not well cooked, beer too warm and drinks not served in a proper way. The staff don't care about it. Never again.

We had an exceptional experience here. The food quality was unexpected and familiar. It was so good I questioned whether the chef had some sort of international training because it was very modern cuisine and reminded me of home but with a very Kefallonian twist. Some of us had the Keffallonian Meat Pie Risotto and I haven't been able to eat it since I became gluten intolerant. This version of it was 100% authentic in flavour without the pastry. And the feta mousse - wow and yum. The flavours of the meat pie, feta and mint were an extraordinary combination. I have no doubt with the pita chips it was also fabulous. How delicious! The kids had Chicken Burger and the Pork Chops and these were exceptional in flavour and size. Their Comidoro salad was unique and very tasty. The surprise was the double cooked chips with oregano. I'm so glad I ordered extra. I want to thank the chef for an amazing meal. Nothing else has compared with this one and I will always remember it. I also want to thank the service staff, particularly the female staff member who took our order. You will not regret coming here in fact you'll miss out if you don't visit. If we can come again before we leave, we will. Thank you again and keep being different in a town that is traditional in its food experiences.

Food here is absolutely excellent! Awesome menu with good mix of variety but also Greek and Kefalonia flair. We had the tzatziki with grilled bread to start and the pork belly as our main - 10/10. Our service was excellent, accommodating, and friendly meanwhile a perfect beach front view. Run do not walk there!

What an amazing dining experience. The appetizers were one more amazing than the other. We had the octopus with Fava , was grilled perfectly and the Fava made with truffle oil was the best I have ever had. The pastichio croquettes were out of this world, the crunchy exterior with the flavorful middle and the bechamel sauce outside was perfectly balanced. The graviera with the marmalade made a sweet and salty bite. The main dishes were just as amazing. The shrimp alfredo was light and flavorful. The sea bass was perfectly seasoned and paired with a lemony couscous. The braised beef was very tender and accompanied creamy mashed potatoes. Definitely worth the trip.

Hidden gem in the island, by the sea! Try any plate and you ll think that you’re eating in a top notch restaurant! Young owners and chef offer a menu with local ingredients , passion with descent prices. Service was excellent too, relaxed and supportive. Will be back soon.

Excellent restaurant. The aubergine dish was fantastic. Must try greek restaurant. Loved the atmosphere. Real grape plants and music was perfect.

Proper Greek islands tavern. At its best after 9 pm at the weekend. Get a corner table and soak up some traditional authentic atmosphere.

This is a must!!!...if you like traditional, home cooked greek dishes, which are freshly cooked then you can't go wrong!!..,( the spicy meatballs are amazing ).....all served in a beautiful setting, adourned in grapevines, Nicolas and his wife were super attentive, and so welcoming...have travelled many places in Greece in my 30 years, and can honestly say this is one of the best places I have dined!!!...will be back next year!! Great funky place for coffee or a cocktail. Beautiful beach that you can swim to the nearby cave and lather some clay for a beautiful looking skin treatment. Friendly staff, free shower and plenty of seating makes it worth a visit.

Nice red beach with great view, the bar is a little bit expensive and with few sunbeds. One set with 1 umbrella and two sunbeds for 15€ and cocktails at 10/15€ each.

First impression when you enter the restaurant is like it needs refurbishment, maybe it should resemble of a street bistro in Mexico. Food was good though. You can pay by cash or card.

Our experience at the tavern was disappointing. The pork gyros portions were notably small. The service was quite poor; our waiter appeared unfamiliar with the menu, and the delivery of our food was very uncoordinated. Some of us had finished eating long before others received their meals. To our surprise, when it was time to pay, we were told card payments were not an option. Thankfully, we had cash, but this is clearly unacceptable in this day and age. Furthermore, the tavern's overall appearance was rather unkempt, lacking any noticeable investment in its decor or arrangement.

Interesting sand and clay to rub into your skin (if you are into such things). 10 euro per set of sunbeds and umbrella (Sombrero area). 3 raws of sunbeds packed from clay slope to the very edge of sea create claustrophobic feeling, nothing to do with 1,5-2 meters distance required for covid reasons. Beware of jelly fish this time of season- one stung my daughter and this marked the end of our stay here. Would not come again if I have the opportunity.

We spent the day at the beach. Sunbeds cost: €20 for half a day (until 1–2 PM) or €30 for the full day.

Stopped here after a day at Xi Beach. The view is great, but the food was not impressive at all. The burger is most likely a sandwich and the gyros meat was not incredible. The salads (greek and tuna) were tasty tho. Service was decent, had a really friendly server

Located right on the beach which is very convenient but it’s well overpriced with mediocre quality. The employee at the sun-beds was very polite and helpful but the rest were extremely indifferent- we were seated for 20min with the place empty and no one even bothered to bring us a menu; they were busy scrolling social media

It used to be another place called Dolphin, Cephalonia Palace Hotel took it over and made it their beach club. You can rent sun-beds and parasols on beach or spend time on their grass lawn. Their sun-beds are spread better than others so it’s a nice choice for the beach time. They service beach and lawn areas, and since it’s run by nice hotel service is really good. Place is also a tavern for lunch and dinner but we haven’t tried it. Drinks were really good though. Plenty of space in parking lot too. Also got a nice mini markt on the parking lot.

We stopped here for some food after visiting the Xi Beach. The food was good, service was quick and staff were friendly. The view and decor was really nice so overall pretty good.

There is nobody available to serve you on the beach! After one hour of waiting we had to go ourselves to buy a coffee and a bottle of water! The cappuccino coffee was only water with a sense of coffee...

I ordered the Burger and I wouldn’t even call it a sandwich. The prices also do not match the quality or the quantity of the food at all. Wouldn’t recommand.

Great food and cheap too! We found this place away from the Main Street and came based on the reviews. We had the fried tomatoes, pork and mushroom, and fried cod with garlic potatoes. The tomatoes and pork were amazing. We would not order The cod again, although the potatoes were delicious.

We found this taverna after looking at the reviews. Our experience was excellent. It was busy with families, and tourists of various ages. The two staff that looked after us were excellent although busy. Had stater,tomatoes with cheese and mains of Shrimp and Pork in mustard sauce. Both were excellent. I read some poor reviews before we went. Didn't have to book,the bill was correct and service was excellent. If you go have back up choices from the menu. If you are looking for fine dining go somewhere else if your looking for a Greek Taverna and everything that goes with it this is it.... This is an update....the next evening after looking for somewhere suitable we found ourselves outside. So let's do it again. It was even more full of diners and got last table. table.was told we need to wait 20 minutes extra....no problem some wine and bread kept us satisfied. Ordered food mixed starter for 2 ...and as I said you need alternatives. Had the pork and mustard and white whine again. Thought you won't do it as good....they did....obviously the starter was probably a stretch as it can with chips.....once again fabulous.

Found this gem on web recommendations.....can see why it is highly rated! 5 minute walk from the ferry, beautifully shaded,lovely lady keeps the area looking stunning! Boutique style, loved all the little decorations. The food was fresh, simple and different, would definitely return here again.

We had dinner at this place and overall it was not bad. One out 6 barbuni fish didn't taste fresh enough. Otherwise things were delicious and the staff was friendly. Might come back.

What an amazing place! A hidden gem! It's right in the middle of the city, but it's like an oasis of calm. We had a very pleasant experience! The staff - warm and welcoming, the service was super fast, and the food was delicious. We had the best Greek salad (Dako) and the best small fishes ever! Highly recommend!

For good simple fresh fish this is a nice spot. Make note in high season aug there is a restriction in fishing hence there’s not a lot of different fish to eat. Though gabros and kalamari was good. And the tomato sallad

A wonderful location on one of the most beautiful beaches in Kefalonia. Delicious Coffees and great views of the beach and Atheronisi Island. A must visit!!

Stunningly beautiful location and the new team were very welcoming. Our food, which arrived fairly promptly, was excellent. The only area which could be improved was the toilet facilities - clean and functional but basic.

Been visiting Porto Atheras for many years, the beautiful horseshoe bay and calm sea. The taverna has changed hands last year and unfortunately not for the better. My wife ordered sardines, they were cold and nearly raw my meatballs were bland, even the tatziki had no flavour. When the family Drossos had the taverna the food was excellent, the atmosphere buzzing, we would often be there from lunch until dinner. Not any more, such a disappointment!!!

Popped in today 20/06/2025 for a quick take away pizza. The service was fast and the food just as quick. I took the pizza back to my hotel at xi beach and it was still hot when I got there. The food was fantastic and for 12 euros a great deal. Keep up the good work , Delicious.

I just took a Greek salad, and i share it for 3 persons( it taste very good !!!) The Pesto pizza was also delicious.i realy enjoy this pizzeria.Thank you.

It's a cozy place with a very nice atmosphere and nice music. The food is good. We only tasted salad and pizza because they ran out of pasta the day we visited. The two stars are because of the service, which was UNACEPTABLE and totally UNPOLITE. They ignored our calls and replied ironically in everything we asked them. In general, it was not a pleasant dine out !

Delicious! Ingredients are all super fresh. It’s truly Italian style. By far the only real pizza on the island. Staff is very cool and friendly.

The best pizza I ate in Kefalonia. The flavors are incredible, and the crust is perfectly crispy. The staff is very attentive, and the atmosphere is wonderful. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.

Best Pizza on Kefalonia Dinos was a really nice guy as were all the staff if your in Lixouri and fancy some pizza give this place a visits you won’t be disappointed.

Great pizza. Visited 2 years ago and went back 2 days ago. Consistent top quality. They offer 2 sizes of pizza with a huge variaty. Good service, dog friendly and Frank Sinatra friendly. We did enjoy the music also. Prices ok, except for the drinks that are a bit overpriced as in some other restaurants in Kefalonia.

Awful. Over an hour for two simple meals and the calamari was so tough it was not even edible. Clearly frozen and not fresh. The chicken was dry and not cooked fresh. Horrible. Much better places to visit. At least the beer was cold.

Now called Anthonys, maybe to rebrand and hide from previous bad ratings? Well unfortunately it hasn't helped much. It was just meh, okay in every aspect. Staff friendly but fairly slow. Food uninspired and lacking flavour. Only positive was big portion sizes. Bread was 1 tiny role with no dip, for $1 each, which is disappointing. The location is obviously great, but so are the other many restaurants next to it. You aren't going to have a bad meal but I wouldn't go back. sorry.

There are no words to describe this place, first of all it was delicious, everything was perfect, fish, stuffed tomatoes or tzatziki everything was delicious, waiting time was perfect to finish the starter and move on to the main course, service at the highest level, the owner was very nice, a golden man, you just want to come back! I recommend with all my heart ❤

We have waited for an hour for the food and the chips was not fresh. The waiter didnt know what is the sode dish.. we got different starter :( the food was good, but not the best..

Read previous reviews but decided to give it ago. Staff was friendly and good service. We ordered Sea Bream and Sea Bass with fries and salad. Good size portions and nicely cooked. Cleared our plates. As we enjoyed our dinner so much, we decided to have dessert, kataifi and baklava. Yummy.

Not only a beautiful location on the waters edge with a lovely atmosphere but the food wonderful. Everything ordered was so fresh & cooked to perfection accompanied with a warm and friendly service. We highly recommend the sword fish. We've been coming to Kefalonia for many years & never have we ever had sword fish to this standard. And finally.... the price was unbeatable! Thank you for the food experience... we'll be back!

Greek restaurant with plenty of excellent vegan options; the plant based pastichio and mousaka were creatively made and absolutely delicious. Fresh salads, greens, and local cheeses; their french fries were some of the best we tasted. Excellent local wine as well. Please don't expect speedy service; things are made to order here (unless you go to a fast food place) so be patient and enjoy the amazing views of the Lixouri port & the Ionian Sea.
