Our check in set the tone for our stay, the staff member was surly and barely spoke. Room was basic and clean although toilet was unventilated. Our room was up stairs, so carting luggage was an issue. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. It was set up at our table, and consisted of a sliver of tired rock melon and a couple of tiny slices of cheese, along with bread, croissants and yoghurt. The reception area floor needed a scrub, perhaps having the owner’s? three dogs running around there contributed to this? I realise it is an old building but every aspect needs improvement in particular, some of the staff’s attitude.

The hotel is basic but very comfortable with spacious rooms and the most welcoming staff. The building is old so you will find some quirks like slanted floors but then again that’s part of the charm. Even if you don’t stay at the hotel have a meal at the restaurant! Skip the fixed menu and order a plat and dessert - each are well priced with plenty of food. The beef bourguignon was lovely!
