We initially stopped by for a quick drink, but the calm, nautical-themed decor and neatly set tables with tablecloths tempted us to stay for a meal. The selection of fresh fish was impressive, and the way it was prepared was absolutely mouthwatering. The service exceeded our expectations — incredibly attentive, with a genuine effort to make sure we had a great experience. And we absolutely did.

I’m shocked this restaurant only has a 4.3 rating. It was lovely for lunch in December. We were here for New Year’s Eve in the algarve and ate lunch a couple of days before. We weren’t too hungry but got the cheese and bread to start followed by lobster bisque and the clams. We enjoyed a bottle of wine from the algarve along with the beautiful views. Great service, views and food. Highly recommend.

We greatly enjoyed our meal at AN. The service was fantastic and they made recommendations to help us find the freshest seafood and also, importantly, guided us to order LESS food, so as not to overpay. So many resort places wouldn’t do that. I’d highly recommend.

We came here last year and it was top of our list to visit again. A bit more expensive but worth the money. Kids meals are of a very high quality. Service is great. View is beautiful.

EVERYTHING IS INSANE ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT. The waiter is super funny and nice. Service is quick, with high quality fish and ingredients. The setting is by the beach so you get to enjoy a little wind. We had the sea bass that comes with different vegetables, French fried and a small salad. And to end, the homemade chocolate mousse was delicious. Thank you so much it was a pleasure.

Cute place by the beach with sunset views. The service is so attentive and nice, we felt very well taken care off throughout the evening. The menu offers a variety of quality seafood, beef and vegetarian side dishes. Overall a wonderful experience!

Great food and service. It's apparent that quality and freshness are paramount and my family and I had a great lunch. The views are superb and I really can't ask for anything more. Of course this is not the cheapest place to eat but you pay for what you get. Hope to be back soon.

Amazing food, value and atmosphere. Came here on a Friday evening to the sound of great live music. - Drove from Albufeira just for the food and could not recommended it anymore. The service was top notch, and food simply incredible especially at the price. The family feel of the restaurant really added to the charm of the whole evening. Me and my girlfriend shared 5 tapas plates which were all amazing and the cocktails were also very nice. Would definitely come back when we return to Portugal.

The ribs were good but there was too much bbq sauce, you couldn't feel the meat anymore. Seabream could use some more spices during cooking, it was a little bland. The fishcakes were quite good.

I’m not going to get to wordy here. Make sure you dine here at least once in armacao de pera. Top notch. Espresso martini is a must.

The food was nothing short of absolutely incredible. We went to dine at around 8pm and everything we ordered came out quickly. It was so fresh and delicious and packed full of flavour. The goat cheese bruschetta were a must try and the seafood risotto was likely the best I've ever had. Highly recommend this place!

Stayed in Amarcao de Pêra for a week and I frequented the Bistro each night. That’s how much I loved the food. I am on a carnivore diet and there were plenty of quality food options. I absolutely love the ribs!! Better and tastier than any of the ribs I’ve had in Chicago or in Atlanta. The hamburger is fantastic. So tasty. The wings are so tasty. I sat outside on the patio and it was calm and peaceful. The owner and the staff are the nicest people. The owner and the staff would always greet me with me smile and say hello. Fantastic service. Great value. I strongly recommend the bistro for a nice meal.

Absolutely fantastic experience at this authentic family-run Portuguese gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like old friends by the welcoming staff. The atmosphere was cozy, full of character, and made us feel like we were dining in someone’s home. The highlight of the evening was definitely the Chicken Piri-Piri. It was grilled to absolute perfection—tender, juicy, and just the right amount of spice. The service was great, with the staff making sure we had everything we needed, without being overbearing. You can really tell this is a family-run place. If you’re craving authentic Portuguese food with a personal touch, this restaurant is a must-visit. Really great place to eat the traditional chicken piri-piri. Served with fries and salade this is a really appetizing dinner. Chicken (cockerel) is juicy, tender and spiced just right that we could eat a second. 1 is not too much. The cheese for starter was also one the best we have eaten. They have a also a big and nice desserts. Very well presented.

Funny experience. Unfriendly staff and not pleasant. They Refused to sell “ the dish of the day” , usually a Portuguese 🇵🇹 local dish. Instead; pushed for a more expensive menu. The timing was wrong. Not return. There are other options in the village. Restaurant closes most important days and winter too. Do not recommend.

Great food and freindly staff. We went twice and weren't disappointed. The peri peri chicken is excellet as are the sardines and the steak, perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Nothing fancy and visited by the locals. I would highly recommend if you'e after well priced unfussy but delicious food.

We really enjoyed the food at this traditional family run Portuguese restaurant. It was very busy on the Sunday evening we choose to come loads of people queuing for take aways . Definitely worth booking to eat in. Food simple menu but really tasty and great meat. As it was so busy service was a bit slow but nice atmosphere

Wow. Popped in for lunch after a hike and we were impressed with everything we had. The view of the nearby beach was nice and the vibe was very relaxed. We had the baked goat cheese, bread and olives for appetizers and all were excellent. For mains we had steak with mushroom sauce (an ad lib from the menu our server offered) and the kebab with steak and shrimp. Verrrrry generous portions and both were fantastic. Fries (so important) were thin enough and crispy. Ample side dishes with grilled vegetables were great as well. House wines were good too, and topped off with a 20-year tawny. Highly recommended!

My partner and I went for a stroll to find a dinner spot we didn't have a reservation but they made space for us as we were there early around 7pm. I am a big seafood lover and it did not disappoint, we had the prawns and squid to start which were great. For mains I had the monkish casserole which I thought was fantastic, generous portions and good value. My partner was very happy with the sea bream and the service as they filleted the fish at the table for her, best food of our trip. Thanks again!

Lovely late lunch. I had the veggie pasta and started with bread butter and olives. Amazing view to the ocean clean nice bathrooms. Great staff. The entry is not off the street you must access it from a little plaza

Fantastic! The food was great, the view spectacular. Nothing like sitting seaside enjoy the fabulous grilled steak- highly recommend, squid also excellent. The house wine was very good too! The staff was super friendly and sweet with our two young kids 💕

So this place is located down below just above the beach with a great view. You can easily miss it when walking on the road as there is construction next door. We only had a starter of shrimp cocktail which was great although pricey for what you get. We shared an entree of the house special Bacalhau which was moist inside and fried crispy outside. The service was good and it was lunch and they had a nice variety of fresh fish. Overall, this had great ambience and you’re paying a little extra to be just next to the beach with nice food offerings.

I am very reluctant to review because I really enjoyed that this place is tucked in a tiny little spot, and no one seems to know it’s there! But the food is amazing, you sit right on the sand, and the staff will treat you like family I was in armaçao de pêra for nine days and either used one of their beach seats or had dinner there six of those days. Even my friend who lives here did not know this place. I’m telling you because they deserve success but don’t tell your friends because I want to come back when I g visit again and not have to wait in line!

We enjoyed a beautiful meal. Lovely surroundings with great service on the last night of our short break. My son and his girlfriend dined with you the evening before and were so impressed we all came together last night. By far the best restaurant visited on our break this year.

The beach bar had a nice atmosphere, and the shrimp I ordered were very tasty, but at €31 for just three pieces, it felt quite overpriced. That said, the service was friendly, which made the experience more enjoyable. Probably not a place I’d return to for food, but a decent spot for a drink with a view.

The best starter chicken skewer! The most spectacular setting on the beach! Great ribs! Great Buddha bowl! Great Thai curry! It’s a must if you are staying at Vila Vita! We are just so sad that we only discovered it on the last night! We will be back!

Lovely beachside restaurant. Cabana available as well as day beds. Bar and food. Gluten free options available, had nigiri which was delicious.

Despite having email contact and an official reservation, my name wasn’t on the list when we arrived. Thankfully, there was still a bed available, but we weren’t allowed in the front row because it was “reserved”, though it remained empty the entire time. The beds are covered with a thin patterned cloth, which still lets sunlight through. We asked for an extra towel to block the sun, but were told it wasn’t possible because “everyone asks for that.” Maybe consider improving this? Tip: if you want proper shade, bring your own extra towel or large cloth. They say you can order food from your sunbed, but no one came to take our order. I heard several people calling out to get the staff’s attention, with no success. Most had to walk over themselves. If you offer this service, please make sure it actually works. That said, the food itself was absolutely delicious.

Food was good but nothing overly amazing. Wide selection to choose from and lively decor. Large glass windows to look out onto the sea. Tried a couple of different things on the menu with nothing stealing the show. Adjacent beach club looks worth a visit with a close spot for lunch right here.

We enjoyed our dinner at PD. The food was generally good (my shrimp were overcooked and lacking any seasoning) and the service seemed a bit overwhelmed by being fully booked out. There were a few miscommunications, but they quickly and graciously fixed them. I’d definitely give them a second chance.

Bad quality food. The cuttlefish was dry and very small, the dourada (bream fish) was too small and different from the advertised picture. The French fries were saggy and cold. We complained and got another side of cold and saggy side of fries. We returned them and there was no effort to fix the bad experience. No bread. Too expensive for what it is.

We ordered 3 dishes. They came with only 2 sides. For the "kebab on a plate" I expected to see more than some meat and fries. I was expecting to see fries and vegetables. For my wife's lamb chops, once again just meat and fries, no vegetables. Not worth the prices they charge. I had a meal in the tourist part of Lisbon for the same price with higher quality. Also, no one spoke any English. They did eventually find someone who spoke French and they did try to fix the situation, so I added a star.

Excellent customer service, Fresh and delicous food at affordable price. You get taken care of like youre in a 5* restaurant. We went for holiday for few days, and we came back everyday until departure. Im attaching a photo of a hot sauce i was gifted. I genuinely wanted to buy it off because it was so tasty and i was afraid it will be unavailable in UK, but the owner said i can keep it which just enhanced the whole experience, we felt very welcomed, almost like home :) Brisa Mar its a place you will go back to, Its a place that will make you fly back to Portugal haha! We should have believed the reviews. We were seated promptly on an outdoor dining area where there were two tables of two and one of nine. So, not really busy. There was one young lady working the floor as a server. It took ten minutes to get water, and an additional thirty-five to have our meal delivered. My spouse had the piri piri chicken and the servings looked like they came from one of the pigeons you see flying around, and her fries, (chips) were cold. I order a steak fillet (300g) cooked medium and it was delivered warm to the touch, but raw inside. Instead of vegetables or mashed potatoes, the "chef" (or someone else), simply dumped a bag of tasteless, unseasoned, potatoes chips on my plate. Seems like it would be a good idea to let your customers know this is the side for the entree, unless you're TRYING to take their money with as little effort as possible by concealing such blatant cost saving measures. To their credit, they removed the raw steak from our bill after we asked for it to be removed, but we were left feeling so unsatisfied we went to Burger King where I got a fully cooked Whopper with hot SEASONED fries.

We dropped in for a quick bite to eat after a long day off hiking and beach time. The menu looks very interesting, and it is inviting to visit more often. This time, we chose a simple tourist menu. It's not expensive and very decent. I loved my fish soup, and my cod gratin was also nice. My girlfriend had okay mussels and salmon that was a bit overcooked. The accompaniments were nice. The service was funny. We were asked for our orders only 10 seconds after sitting down. And it seemed that every 20 seconds after that, someone came to our table. But everyone was very nice and professional. Yeah, there's a good chance we'll be back here...

WOW, WOW, WOW.. If you absolutely love the highest quality seafood then you have to visit this wonderful restaurant! To start we had the fish soup. Oh my lord the broth was to die for, flavours out of this world. Finished every last drop and my children absolutely loved it too. Went on to have the most delicious freshly cooked crab which was actually my Son's dish but just had to get involved too! My wife and myself shared the Shellfish Rice for 2 and I can honestly say I have eaten around the world at some top fish restaurants but this one is right up there with the best of them. The flavours in the broth of the dish were absolutely amazing. I could have just eaten the rice with the broth but my word the seafood contained within the dish was utterly succulent and delicious. Stunning! Onto the service the male waiter who served us was super friendly and attentive. He even let my son pick and hold his own crab 🦀 which of course he absolutely loved! Overall I just can not fault this restaurant. The other amazing thing was the price. For the Shellfish rice for 2 we paid 38 euros total and I kid you not when i say it could have easily fed 4 adults. Unbelievable! Lastly, all I can say is you have to visit this restaurant if you are in this part of Portugal!

I've been coming to this restaurant for years and at my sight it's still my favorite in town. Moreover, this restaurant has the best service I EVER had! And I tend to travel quite a lot In Portugal and abroad. 😉 Waiters are genuinely concerned with us, guests. They always try to find us a good table and as quickly as possible. If we ask they will always share their honest suggestions for the day. The white wine glasses even come from the fridge. Frequent comments get special treats. By far the best restaurant I'd ever recommend to someone - and I'm hard to please! 😉

Unable to make it to a neighboring restaurant… So settled for here and as expected nothing to write home about. I guess because I was seated late the Cook didn’t finish cooking and grilling my octopus. It was undercooked for being grilled. The sangria was definitely the highlight although a little pricey, considering the low level of alcohol in it.

Best place to eat in ADP! We went in summer for a week long trip. Visited this hotel 4/7 nights. The seafood pasta was incredible and the owner and servers are 10/10!

Four of us met up and ate here tonight. I'd passed by the other day and thought the menu was interesting and comprehensive. We weren't disappointed. We sat indoors and the ambience was very good. We loved the friendly and helpful staff who clarified any menu queries we had. They served a couple of delicious amuse bouches and changed our glasses when our wine changed from one wine to another. Such attention to detail is rare and special. All four of us enjoyed our meals and it was a pleasure to eat in A Tasca, a cut above most of the usual touristy restaurants on the sea front.

Food and service was a 4/5 but for the value they can do better. The salmon was perfectly pink (my shorts for reference) The food was a bit salty but was a nice view. Also they don’t take cards? Why? Please man it’s 2022.

A place to BE! We have been at the Algarve all summer and accidentally, LUCKILY found this place right at the beginning. It's a nice cosy small and very welcoming and suuuper friendly place with DELICIOUS food 🤤 First time I had a flamed chicken which was such a show cause the owner Luis came with a little side table and cooked it right in front of us...what an entertaining! All the other times the food was always a highlight. We have been here a couple of times during the whole season and we felt like home were your mum (dad=Luis) is cooking for you. Such a great place with beautiful caring staff - for me personally very important when I go out for food. Very recommended place which I'll do who ever tells me is going to the Algarve. Thank you so much for having us and the good life time you gave us the few hours we stayed at this unique restaurant. Beijo Lena&Hanna ...also very clean place!

From the entrance to the dessert, everything was perfect here. Friendly staff, perfect food and an great place. Never had a souvlaki so tasteful.

The setting is absolutely beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is over the top. The combination of the three makes for one of the best experiences and the perfect bottle of white wine was just the cherry on top. Also nice that the prices are so competitive - wonderful meal for not a lot of money. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

We had a really great time in this restaurant in September. We went several times. The food is lovely and well presented. The menu is very varied, from start to dessert all is good and home cooking. Meat, fish, and cooked dished. There is also a very nice home made nuggets with fries for kids. Special dedication and huge thanks to the staff that's the most kind of the world!! And by way this is a really good spot for the sunset. Also live music sometimes. We will be back !!

Just after the typical touristic nightmare of Armação da Pera, this beautiful white, wooden, and pastel coloured Greek inspired restaurant is placed on the dunes of the beach. We chose a 4-course lunch with rosé pairing and had so much fun with the friendly service, nice views and delicious food that we forgot where we were; and for €100 only, incl. water, cafés and a delicious baklava, it is more than worth the trip. It is a true escape.

Amazing fish. Have been three times in two days! Sardines delicious with Algarve tomato salad and potatoes, for 9 Euros. Incredible, enormous skewer of monkfish and prawns for 17 euros. Amazing food, amazing prices, lovely staff.

Great restaurant, very accommodating. We arrived as a party of 14 earlier than normal/traditional seating time for dinner and the wait staff practically gave us free reign. The food was excellent - a fusion of local and international dishes presented in non-traditional recipes. We all had a wonderful time and the food and service were excellent. This restaurant might strike you as a tourist trap, but it was anything but. We look forward to returning on our next trip to Algarve.

Nice location! However meals were ok. Everything was very well presented and service was very good. But there lacked flavour in almost all dishes. And quantities were smaller than most restaurants. Our group covered half the entrees, so good coverage to judge. The better of the meals were definitely the ribs. But I can make better ribs at home, so personally, did not find it amazing.

Lovely little spot on the beach, really enjoyed my fresh local squid dish, all very well priced menu and the fresh fish cooked on BBQ to order. Could tell it was a family run business with a good vibe.

If you want to just turn off, enjoy a beer and savour some beautiful fresh fish from the grill-this is the place! Up few steps from the golden sandy beach and situated all on its own, resembling a shack in the middle of nowhere, this place is perfect. Had beautiful grilled sardines in escabeche sauce, went back and had a meat skewer which was lovely too.

Just what you'd expect from a beach restaurant, drinks and food, nice place to take time out from the sweltering sun! Offers your basic service and needs which is just enough when you turn up with sandy feet and just need something to quench your thirst or hunger!!! Excellent!!!!

We had an excellent meal at this lovely little restaurant. The food was delicious, with every dish full of flavor. It's a small and cozy place with just a few tables, which makes it very pleasant and welcoming. We truly enjoyed every bite. The staff were wonderful: friendly, kind, and always smiling. They spoke English, which was a big plus for our multicultural group, as it was the only language we all had in common. I highly recommend this place!

But this hidden gem is something exceptional! Nunu & Susi have lifted the dining experience to another level. Truly memorable!!! It's a tiny restaurant with an unforgettable dining experience. From the start to finish everything was top class 👌 When we visited this restaurant first we didn't expect much, yet the food exceeded our expectations. Honestly you need to come back to try more and more. Susi is just from another planet an extremely talented chef. Traditional Cataplana, Rabbit stew, Tuna steak, Salmon en croute, Deep fried squid, Fresh figs w walnuts & honey , Susi's dessert, Banoffee pie, Red berries panacota and ( going backwards) covert to the begining contains pate, sel. of homemade biscuits, olives, marinated carrots, grilled peppers and fresh bread( still hot!). And much more. Everything was to die for. Yummy 😋 Nunu is real gentleman and his wife Susi is just MasterChef!!!! Best restaurant in Portugal. We absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious and great value for money. The staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed it so much during our 4-day stay that we came back a second time. Don’t miss the anchovies in vinegar – they were amazing!

To say we were impressed is to say too little. I think this has been our best portugese experience, both food and service wise. From bread, to cataplana and to desserts, exceptional.

O Cantinho da Susi serves authentic Portuguese cuisine with a contemporary twist. The service is always super friendly and professional and set in a very pleasant and cosy dining atmosphere. Their take on the traditional Portuguese couvert is a great start to the evening. It combines a selection of fresh local bite size flavour surprises with freshly baked mini bread rolls. The prawn starter is a must and probably the best we've had in the Algarve. Our Sirloin and Tuna steak main courses are always grilled to perfection (precisely medium rare) and beautifully presented. They also offer a variety of local and seasonal speciality dishes that you can select from a classic chalk board. O Cantinho da Suzi is a family run restaurant that really showcases their passion for quality dining in an authentic,relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The fantastic vibe they have created always makes us feel right at home even though we are on vacation, so we can definitely recommend this restaurant ;-)

What an incredible dining experience. The food was so good we made a reservation for the next night right after eating the appetizer. Absolutely perfectly cooked Portuguese food. This is the place the locals bring their guests. You can feel the love and passion that goes into each dish. The octopus was fantastic. The sirloin and tuna steaks were both cooked perfectly. The figs with goat cheese and honey were divine. Suzi’s Dessert is a must after the meal. I could go on and on. Bottom line, make a reservation and get to this place.

The most authentic restaurant of Pera! Excellent service: the waiter speaks fluent French, English and Spanish! Very generous, various and tasty (free!) amuse-bouches. The menu has many Portuguese special dishes. Desserts are homemade and amazing. Thank you!

Probably one of the best local restaurant in the area! Local, quality food at great prices. Absolutely recommended to anyone that likes Portuguese dishes! I would add photos but I’ve completely smashed my plate 🤣

I was just there with two friends to have a drink since today is my birthday. The first waiter was super rude and racist, he refused to speak English even though we could order in Portuguese. Then the boss came and insulted my friend and me, calling us prostitutes, even though we just wanted to have a beer with our friend. In the end, he took our beer away and told us to leave, even though we hadn't done anything wrong.

We found this place by passing through. The food is excellent the staff is absolutely friendly and customer oriented. Family friendly restaurant. We were happy to spend as much times as we can here. Highly recommended restaurant. Food was freshly prepared. Portions are well sized and well seasoned.

We've been to Pera about 5 times and we've visited here every visit It's always been excellent Food is cooked to perfection on outdoor grills and comes with salad + real chips It's super inexpensive also. The Iberian pork secretos was €7 and it was perfect I would recommend any of the meat or fish from the grill

Tasquinha Do João exceeded our expectations! The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. We indulged in freshly grilled fish and chicken piri piri, both bursting with flavor. Highly recommended

My partner and I found this restaurant today whilst out cycling. The place was immaculately clean. Our waiter was so lovely, polite and helpful. Service was good. We ate the menu of the day, food was lovely and great value for money. We will definitely returning soon. Thankyou. A treasure of a find.

Just finished an excellent Lunch at Boa Onda. A light airy modern interior in an old building. Quality and value for money were extremely good. Choices on the Pratos Da Dia were very good the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Would recommend the Restaurant as being well worth a visit. 👍

Very disappointing. Our dinner with friends spoilt by a noisy TV. Which was being competed with by a small child who obviously belonged to the owners playing loud music on her Mobile phone. Food mediocre and expensive compared to other establishments in Pera. Can't comment on dessert or coffee . We asked for bill and left. There were no other diners in the restaurant. Hardly surprising.

Amazing restaurant on a side street of Pêra. Beautiful meat and probably one of the best “Arroz de Grelos” in the world ;-) You can sense that Julia’s love for food and this place is right there in every dish brought to the table. Congratulations!

We had a great experience. It is a hidden gem! The quality is unbelievable and they have very authentic dishes and flavours. The place is beautifully decorated as well. The stuff is really welcoming. They bring you a tray of tapas as soon as you sit down! I would 100% recommend ✨

The place was very nice. It’s a family-owned business and the chef is extremely nice. The menu is not very large, but extremely well selected: fish is amazing and also sweets are very very very good. Great selection of wines and also their wine tastes fine. Special mention to the waiter Milton, very kind. Would highly recommend!

Unreal food. The food is clearly very fresh and is super well cooked. The Salmon was delicious and a very very reasonable portion size. The mixed grill meat was beautiful, even the chips were really cooked well. The garlic prawn starter is a large portion size too and had lots of nice garlic sauce to eat with bread. There were Portuguese people eating in here at the same time as us which was a good sign. Also, the service was great there was a very helpful and attentive young man serving us, very friendly environment. There are fun euro toy dispenser games at the bar. I would definitely recommend eating in here if you are local!

We have had dinner twice, and loved it so much. The mixed plate, so delicious is the meat. And the second time we had the fish cataplana. That was the best, far to much for two people. And the owner and his wife are such lovely people. Please go there and you will see.

Best meat and octopus we ate in Portugal! And thanks to the chef for coming out of the kitchen and explain to us (non Portuguese speakers) some details regarding the dishes and the wine! :)

amazing food and a lovely atmosphere plus well priced which was perfect 👌 had two small children on my own and the staff were so helpful! I recommend taking cash (there is a cash point opposite) as they do not take anything other than portuguese bank cards. the staff there allowed me to leave and come back the next day with some cash. very helpful and very friendly

The food was good. Portion was big enough to get stuffed. The dry wine served with food was only ok. Service was very home like. Restaurant has rather small menu though. Nevertheless I recommend. Many locals at the spot.
