What a quaint cafe at the top of town. Lovely ladies serving, with a good selection of homemade cakes and scones. The scones were excellent light and fluffy. There was so much cream we couldn't finish it, that's never happened before. The coffee was also excellent 👌👍

What a treasure… ALL the food made by Moira (the owner) and Jacqueline who is friendly and obliging. We had the homemade soup (chicken and corn) and it was delicious, served with a fresh warm bread roll. Will definitely be our go to now rather than getting processed cakes and slices from everywhere else

What a sweet quaint cafe - old tea rooms type where you get scones and delicious cakes made by local old ladies served with a huge variety of delicious tea. We had sones and vanilla sponge cake with lemon curd - both were really good, a rare find these days. We also had a pumpkin soup, wraps and sandwiches that were ok but paled in comparison to the cakes.

This beautiful place was a pitstop for us as we passed through town. We sat on the veranda and enjoyed an ice tea with a melt slice and a chocolate brownie which was insane! We got suggested to visit the bald rock which we did and it didn’t disappoint so we thank you for that suggestion and the extra brownie we took to go didn’t last long. Such great service, thank you

Lovely atmosphere, with beautiful gardens and cool verandahs to sit. The meals are well priced and taste delicious. Great selection of cakes to have with the huge choice of teas and coffees.

What a lovely place for a bite to eat. Easy to park, able to sit inside or outside in the garden. Good food and good coffee. There is a big cubby if you want to play. Clean looks and fun decor

We attended The Bohemian Tearoom today and want an amazing experience it was. The selection of teas were amazing, the customer service was beyond incredible and the cakes were divine! The menu was also to die for!

Nice little cafe in the heart of Tenterfield serving beautiful Merlo coffee! Coffee was great, breakfast was basic, but yummy! I would recommend that a simple ‘good morning’ when customers enter is not hard, and will go a long way to set the mood! The ladies demeanour did improve, but if first impressions last, probably not the best to receive when we are deciding where to spend our hard earned cash! Meal was yummy, but toast was soggy on my ‘heathy start’, due to the tomato being so wet/stewed. The breaky roll was yum, add the cheese! Locals came and went, I could see its frequented by locals, so maybe we just got the young lady on a hectic morning! I would try again.

We sat out on the back deck with our dogs. Just lovely. The staff were kind to our dogs and the healthy breakfast option I chose was delicious. The coffee was also excellent. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Stopped in for lunch. Excellent food. I had the home made veggie burger and my partner had the home made hamburger, both were super fresh and yummy. Best veggie burger I’ve ever had.

A decent little cafe. Friendly and prompt service. The coffee was fantastic and the smashed avo with poached eggs tasted as good as it looked. I would have preferred sourdough vs Turkish but the Turkish was nice and fresh and not overpowering like it sometimes can be. Nice job!!

Fantastic food, great service! I got the eggs Benedict, one of my favourite dishes and Willow Tree do a great variation with both ham and bacon, and a tasty bearnaise sauce. The others with me enjoyed French toast and bruschetta.

Enjoyed our visit at The Willow Tree Café today. We ordered a BLT and BLAT plus a latte and turmeric latte. All was delish. Staff were very friendly. Would stop in again. Thank you

Holy Lordy! So tasty! Got a Thai beef salad, omlette, pumpkin fritters, vegetarian Patty and coffee. All artfully displayed with fresh ingredients. Great service and ambience. Apparently the bathroom is really fancy (I didn't use it).

Where to start, I haven't rated the pizza because there's no (quarter of a Star) that's how bad the pizza was, ordered a vegetarian medium size, but see there cunning they don't put topping right to the edge, if you can call lots of half melted cheese and hardly any veg , delivered to my motel TOPPING, A while back I took two so-called gourmet desserts back and got a refund, frozen water (rock hard) with cordial in it, the place is a joke, never again when I'm passing through Tenterfield, Loseres. 😠😠

Do you remember the first time you tried to make pizza as a child? All you have to do is smear loads of tomato paste onto any round bread, throw random ingredients on and pile on the cheese and it will be great, right? Have you ever had a crack at making your own pizza after coming home drunk despite not having any of the right ingredients, basic know-how or adequete functioning of cognitive processes? She'll be right mate. Right? Mate? Tenterfield Gourmet Pizza.

Just here in Tenterfield for a few days, had a takeaway pizza as leaving tomorrow and didn't want to cook. The pizza was okay but we had a pizza recently in Lawnton Lorenzo's which was spectacular so I guess we are comparing. It was okay and the service was great very friendly.

Probably some of the nicest pizza we've had eating out for a while. The only negative was the bases, they had no flavour and had a stale texture. But at least the toppings were decent and had taste. The prices were reasonable and the staff were friendly.

Was very suprised when visited this place. I didn't know what to expect, but the pizza and garlic bread was very well made. I had a vegetarian pizza and was very happy on the variety of choices for a vegetarian. Will definitely come again.

Delicious pizza with an epic menu! I was really sad we're only here for the night, because there's so many flavors I wanted to try. Staff are really friendly too. Definitely worth a trip back sometime!

Disappointing experience… Unfortunately, the food was very underwhelming—bland, lacking in flavour, and poor in quality. Pricing was also an issue, with charges not matching the advertised prices. We were hopeful, but the overall experience was far below expectations. Can honestly say we’ve tried it, but we won’t be returning.

Delicious meal of spring rolls, chicken with ginger & shallots , honey king prawns & beef in black bean sauce. Couldn’t fault anything. We will be back the next time we travel and stay in Tenterfield.

It was almost closing time and we asked if we could order to sit in and they were very accommodating. We ordered the Singapore noodles, spring rolls and chicken with ginger and shallots. Delicious! Very happy and definitely recommend this business.

Wow!!! This Chinese take away was amazing!! We are just passing through from newcastle and I would not hesitate to detour back through just for this Chinese again. I had the satay beef and it was the was the best I have had for a long time. The girl that served us was lovely and the service was prompt. Thank you for amazing food.

Excellent service, Fantastic food and lovely waitstaff. I recommend the garlic in chicken sauce and beef in black bean sauce. Meals came out fast and were decently sized.

Over priced. Under flavoured. Got my phone order wrong. No eftpos. Pepper beef taste like watered down stew. No flavour in the short soup . Extremely disappointed

They’re trading hours say until 9 but they close whenever. My grandmother was in the hospital and the whole family went hungry at 8:10 because they were closed. Nothing else is open at this time so this was our only hope. Heartbreaking. Why even have hours of operation?? (Review posted on the 6th at 8:15)

Spent a couple of nights. Rooms were clean and of decent size and quality but a little dated. Had everything needed for either a short or long stay. The restaurant at the club was really good and while staying at the club we got members pricing for drinks 🍸 All in all a very enjoyable stay 😀

This review is only for the club and restaurant, not the accommodation. We had a great meal here at the Chinese restaurant - two plates of Nasi Goreng done to perfection. Also enjoyed a drink from the bar and a bit of a go on the pokies. Not so impressed with the sign in process as one of the card readers was faulty.

Loved the new Chinese menu and especially the service with a smile from the gorgeous Pauline in the restaurant and the delightful lad at the bar who'd never heard of Ouzo and Sars. Every staff member was smiling and friendly!! The food quality was impeccable - we had Sichuan Chicken, Fried Rice and Chilli Beef - generous serves, plenty of meat and fresh vegetables. Very popular so bookings are a must!

Always a favourite to stay at. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced and the atmosphere is great. Staying again tonight (13/9/25). Will be back next month on the bikes.

The Tenterfield Bowling Club Motor Inn was a great find! Well located, quiet, room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed- very thoughtfully set up and very reasonably priced. The verandah seating was a bonus. And the vibe at the club was welcoming.

Great v central hotel. V clean and nicely furnished. Staff lovely and v helpful. The only reason I graded it down on stars for location and room was that it is a bit noisy with trucks coming past and turning in from opposite road. Think they have rims at the back which if they do would recommend. Lovely bar and top rate chef x.

The accommodation was well presented and comfortable. Modern bathroom and good space in the room. The restaurant was fabulous. We’d planned to dine there on our first night and try somewhere else but decided we had to dine there both nights. The food was delicious and very good portion sizes. For me as GF there were numerous options which is always appreciated and best of all a GF brownie for dessert! There were several local wines by the glass, good priced cocktails and excellent service.

We booked a weekend away for our anniversary and the Commercial Hotel delivered. Beautifully restored art deco rooms with all the modern amenities! We had dinner in the restaurant and expected country fare. Instead we had 5 star food and service.

Lovely friendly staff and fantastic food in an amazingly restored art deco pub. Truly an unexpected find. Menu was extensive and the food brilliant.

Sadly, a few issues with dinner service on Friday. Two menu items were unavailable at 6:30pm (early doors), but we were only informed after the order was taken. Mains arrived separately (by some time) on 2 x PAX, and cutlery had to be requested for mains. Medium Rare steak was Mid-Well to Well Done, which was disappointing. Ambience is excellent, but menu knowledge and service skills Front of House were limited. The co-ordinating FOH staff member was excellent though.

We had a two night stay in Tenterfield and ate at the Commercial Boutique Hotel twice. Our meal was so delicious on the first evening, we returned on the second. Both meals were excellent with fantastic service and a wonderful, cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended it you are visiting Tenterfield.

Wow what an arrogant experience. We made a booking for dinner and we apparently interrupted their day. No one showed any interest for us being there and they preferred to clear tables instead of offering us a drink or maybe something to eat and considering that we were thinking of coming back in August and actually staying at the property, absolutely no way due to this absolutely pitiful poor experience. DO NOT come to this place, arrogant is the service experience. Do yourself a favour and go to The Royal hotel which is much more friendly, food is wonderful, the team are welcoming, and it’s just around the corner.

We only ate lunch at the tavern and all 8 of us had a really good meal. A classic case of good country food. It was my best eat out meal for a long time (and my wife) and hopefully we can go back while we are still here. A solid 4.5.

19/3/2025 Stopped in for dinner. Food was delicious, good sized meal. Bar staff were friendly, kitchen staff a little stand offish unfortunately. Loved the overall cozy and relaxed atmosphere, made me feel at home. Great location and messy to find. Did not stay the night as rooms were quite expensive for a one night stay compared to elsewhere.

Omg best Dinner in town, We didn't stay here, but will next time we visit. Meals were so good, not expensive, play Area for kids, We had 2 Senior meals $16 each. Was delicious 😋 🤤 very happy. Great meals for the kids too, ,

This establishment does not deserve to hold a food license. When ordering I asked the staff what on their menu was Gluten Free and they actually had no idea what I was talking about? It’s my own fault that I actually decided to order something that they advised me was and of course I have been severely affected. As I should never have trusted them. This is appalling as being Coeliac is not a choice and must be catered for. The attitude was less then ordinary. Do not eat here if you have an allergy.

Great staff and great owner. We were broken down and they were very helpful and did all they could to assist us. Also we had lunch there whilst we were waiting and cannot recommend them highly enough.

4 people for dinner last night. Garlic bread - over cooked and crispy. Chicken parmigiana - very ordinary. Mixed grill - no bacon and steak was very tuff. Porterhouse steak - very tuff. Grilled barramundi- over cooked and dry. We were here last year and the meal and service was great that is why we were looking forward to returning. Don't think we will go back in a hurry.

Well appointed rooms in quiet location behind affiliated decent tavern providing reasonable meals. Motel guests may encounter rowdy late night tavern guests on big occasions.

We decided to meet up here for our family Christmas, traveling in from three points of the compass. We were all very taken and impressed by the work the owners have done to renovate the beautiful property. Lunch was truly delicious, with a great choice of German style quisine and exquisite desert's. The hosts, the owners, were both friendly and made the time even more pleasant.

Excellent authentic German style cuisine located close to Tenterfield CBD, not far from the highway. Welcoming staff, very accommodating and flexible. The food is fantastic, great tasting and well portioned. Highly recommend the famous Rosenhof potato salad and German sparkling wine - Henkell Trocken! The venue itself has a country cottage feel and is very inviting and comfortable.

What an amazing local find! An exceptionally well appointed venue with tons of history. The food is made in house, traditional german cusine, fantastic drinks list, mouth watering deserts. We had the spicy wurst and it was flawless. All topped off by lovely service. What the owners have done with this place is absolutely magnificent. Highly recommended.

Went here a couple of months ago, was an incredible food experience. The food and beers were delicious. Our friendly waiter gave us a great history on the food styles and what to expect from the dishes :)

Food was tasty, reasonable price and quickly served. The Laksa was particularly tasty..one of the best I have had. The vegan dish received good report also. Only issue no tofu or Green tea.

Coco Thai has been getting better every year! I’ve been dining here occasionally over a decade. Professional and efficient team and friendly. 🫶🏼 My family really enjoyed the Tom Yum Goong (special king prawns with Thai herbs and fresh mushrooms) and favourite Tom Kha Gai soups were served quickly and appropriately sized. Our main dishes tonight were delicious. We had amazing food. The yellow curry was great as was the Chef’s special — Pla Sam Rod (a fish fillet topped with sweet chilli sauce cooked with capsicum, pineapple shallot and onion). Thank you 🙏 💞

By far the best restaurant in Tenterfield. Excellent customer service and exquisite food. Recommend all dishes but found the Duck Ka Pow to be an amazing dish. Very well done to all.

Only place open when we came through town . Very friendly service , quaint relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. I had the panaeng curry and my hubby had the green curry, we shared the coconut rice. Loaded with veggies and large pieces of chicken. Ample portions Very reasonable prices

In Tenterfield for the weekend and stumbled across this quirky, cosy, clean and delightful restaurant. We really enjoyed the food (best fish cakes we’ve ever had) and the service was terrific. Loved the decorations and the music. Highly recommended.

A bit disappointing - the entree of prawn rice paper rolls was quite nice. We enjoyed the green chicken curry but the pad Thai was pretty much inedible. Have never had it taste like that, not at all nice. We told the owner (who was very nice) about the pad Thai but he made no comment.

Since the new owners, the food has been nothing but oily, disappointing slop that all 3 of my dogs turned their nose up to. And that’s at a wide range of your dishes. Please pull your standards up or leave town and make way for somebody who can actually cook and produce safe, edible food.

Delicious authentic food. Vegetables cooked perfectly (retaining a slight "crunch"). Sauce sooo tasty. Seafood same. Generous portions. Service friendly and attentive. Pleasant and clean surroundings and decor. They deserve to do well.

Lovely warm and welcoming host, the servings were very generous and food delicious, the best pad thai I have had in a very long time! The Beef mussamun just melted in our mouths and the larb chicken, fresh with just the right hit of chilli, if passing through tenterfield this is a must!

The manager (owner?) was very nice and welcoming. The remodelling was good but it also removed the reason we booked. The website had a microwave, food area in the room plus a complex laundry. The laundry and microwave was why we choose here. When we mentioned the microwave to the manager, he installed one on the sideboard but couldn’t help with the laundry. The restaurant food was nice but not outstanding and the allocated car park bays aren’t wide enough for the work untes that stay at the complex. Also there needs to be soundproofing between the units. Not particularly happy.

We recently stayed one night & should have stayed longer. We'd been travelling & needed a laundromat. Nigel put us into a neat & tidy & comfortable room with a washer & dryer, exactly what we needed. He then booked us into the restaurant for dinner. The dinner & service was excellent, Niki excelled in the quality of our meals. When next in Tenterfield we would have no hesitation in again staying at the Henry Parkes Motel and most certainly would recommend it to family and friends.

We had a lovely stay. Clean comfortable room. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. On a cold evening it was warm and inviting with a fire providing a lovely area to relax in front of with a drink from the bar. Lovely hosts who were friendly and helpful. Really made you feel welcome. Highly recommend!!

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this motel and need to offer a review to recommend it highly because of the clean, well appointed, well serviced and quiet rooms. More impressive was the friendly and welcoming staff who did a great job juggling to accommodate us. Restaurant was comfortable and service personal and warm with quality food. Good value. We will definitely return to this place!!

I stayed a single night while on a motorbike trip and will be back. Competitive room rate. Clean rooms, didn't notice much traffic noise, good fast wifi, very comfortable bed, best night's sleep I've had in ages! Great service from all the staff made it an enjoyable stopover.

Very basic rooms 2 cups, toaster jug and microwave. No plates or cutlery. The showers are only just warm, which is not very inviting, you need a good hot shower after a day of driving. Cleanliness is about 8 out of 10.

The Henry Parks Motel was great for our overnight stop. The room was clean well equipped and much bigger than others we have stayed at. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful. We'd certainly stay there again.

As echoed in the reviews of others…Wow! This little, humble Chinese restaurant is a chameleon! We expected same old same old as we receive at any other Chinese restaurant but were shocked off our feet! The staff are incredibly friendly and happy to answer any questions about their offerings, and it only gets better from there! We were stunned to purchase three mains and an entrée and barely pay $40 (May ’25 - takeaway). The flavours were very authentic, the serving sizes to capacity, and the taste…amazing! Add to that the low cost of the dishes and it took both myself and my wife back to when your parents took you out as kids in the ’80 for a Chinese meal, and you knew from the taste it was all made from scratch! No bottled or pre-prepared ingredients, and for those that are concerned, no MSG. Can’t wait to pass through Tenterfield again!

Was in Tenterfield for a night and after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. It was a comfort take away meal tho it’s a little sweet for me. Food portion is very generous and the wanton soup deserves a shoutout! Sooo good!! You can tell it’s not frozen but homemade with great fillings! The oyster sauce stir fry beef is very tender too. They are only doing takeaway I believe!

We walked up to order and buy our takeaway as other comments have said closing hours not consistent but I am so glad we did. The owners both serve and cook. Neither not young but so very talented. Seriously the best Chinese food I have ever had. Well done to the owners. Working so hard. Worth just going up and ordering. Went across the road to the pub and had a lovely wine while waiting. Truely great good.

Best Chinese we've ever had. Visited Tenterfield twice, it's now a tradition we eat here on the first night. old school, not sweet, and ever dish is unique.

What a little gem for takeaway. Fresh veggies used - broccoli, snow peas, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage and onions in the veggie chow mien. The BEST veggie spring rolls and delicious prawn curry. Very generous serves. Piping hot.

Visiting Tenterfield from Brisbane for the weekend. There were two Chinese restaurants along the same street and I am super thankful my partner & I chose this joint from the very few reviews they’ve received thus far. Delicious Chinese take out food. It’s what you’ll expect from western Chinese cuisine BUT their curry puffs, spring rolls, sweet & sour pork, fried rice & pork spare ribs (we ordered pack C from their menu) we’re really delicious & flavourful. Recipes are on the sweeter side which we personally enjoyed. Fair prices for what they provide. Also, a very sweet lady who served us. They’re CASH ONLY (there is an ATM just a few shops away) and take away only.

Not rated for food as we only had coffee. While it was cold and damp outside, the cafe here served good coffee inside or, if you prefer, in the internal courtyard. Historic surroundings add to the atmosphere and charm.

Good food. Was served a no froth cappuccino. Sometimes you go to a place and the vibe isn't quite right, I found this at this cafe. The staff treated us like we weren't their. They seemed to all not like each other and gave this place an uncomfortable and unfriendly vibe. We couldn't wait to get out of there. As we were leaving no one acknowledged us leaving which is quite unusual for a country cafe.

Dog friendly cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Amazing food and excellent customer service even on a very busy day. Recommend the red wine and garlic beef pie. Wow. Just amazing. The Museum is also attached to the cafe and accessed via the cafe. Here you wil find essentially everything to see regarding Australias move toward Federation. Amazing place. Best hub in Tenterfield

I love going to Courtyard Cafe everytime I go to Tenterfield. Dog-friendly courtyard. Great for small groups. Fantastic atmosphere. Good food. They make the best Eggs Bene with salmon!!

I truly am sorry that I was such an imposition to come in and order a coffee, I didn’t meant to bother you while your cafe was completely empty. Maybe the ladies need to work on their attitude, and basic customer service! Coffee is mediocre at best!

Didn't end up eating here so i dont know what the food is like but it was way to expensive and the menu wasnt that good and also didnt see any birds so yeah

My Mother and aunty had a very nice lunch here. Food and coffee delicious ( sweets looked yummy), atmosphere was a bit old world with owners collection of beautiful china and old furniture,plus wood fire. If it had been a nice day the gardens or verandah, would have been a lovely place to have our lunch. Staff friendly. Once spring has had a chance to warm up the gardens will be beautiful. Will be back.

You have to try Cameron’s double shot coffee, half pump caramel, milk shake. Very yummy. Ridden all the way from Sunshine Coast to try it again 😉

Great coffee and croissants! Beautiful handmade furniture on display and for sale! The are open early unlike half the town which is great for early travellers.

Finally my prayers have been answered - A fresh salad bar in Tenterfield! There are a few different options to choose from with nice coffee too.

Great coffee, poured an excellent long black, Great crème, and they let me have my puppy on my lap in out of the cold. 😇
