The best spot in the Cité for an amazing dinner. Wonderful atmosphere with indoor and outdoor dining. The staff were wonderful! Friendly and attentive and just a pleasure to talk with. This is a family owned restaurant and you can tell they take pride in every detail and strive to make your dining experience a memorable one. The complementary olive tapando and breads were the best I’ve had. We had the buratta entre which came with tomatoes and the most delicious sprouts. Our plat was the sea bass. We have tried sea bass all over the world, and without exaggeration this was the best. Delicious over carrots, squash, and black rice. A bottle of champagne was included in the price range I quoted. A must have if you are in Carcassonne. I really can’t say enough about how wonderful it was. Try for yourself after a day of exploring the Cité. A perfect ending to a fairytale adventure. 5 stars all the way! Merci!

We sat in the courtyard, which was a beautiful setting. The salmon starter and the Burrata were both very good. The cassoulet was nice, just lacking a little in flavour, as well as the duck within being a little dry. The quail was cooked well and tasted great. For dessert the lemon tart was very tasty and the meringue on top as light as a cloud. The pastry a touch thick but was buttery and tasted great. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere nice and relaxed. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for good food in a nice relaxed setting.

Wonderful service, great wine recommendations with the spectacular food and you need to ask for the history of the restaurant and the family who runs it. Sadly, my hike on Saturday got too long so I could not return for a cassoulet but highly recommend the cod and the crème brûlée is to die for.

Absolute gem of a place. As with almost everywhere in Carcassonne, the atmosphere is incredible, but this place takes it even further with an relaxed but elegant feeling. The service was incredible, we came without a reservation and got seated no problem, though we came on a Tuesday so I wouldn't nessesarilly count on it. Our waiter was very attentive and eager to please. And the food, the food! So, so, so good! I got the Quail, my companions had the Bream and the ravioli. We all tried each other's and I can assure you they were all unbelievably good. If you're looking for really good food here in town, but don't want to pay the prices at the two Michilin locations within the walls, you can't go wrong here. As for the prices, they're slightly more than a normal restaurant, but quite reasonable for the outstanding quality we received. A perfect experience

We went to this restaurant for lunch. After strolling crazy busy streets of Carcassone which are filled with averags restaurants/ tourist traps. We than strolled and got to the beginning of the city and saw this restaurant. It is highly rancoed and also got suggested by AI. What a treat we were in for. Beautiful quiet terrace filled with locals enjoying a quiet peaceful lunch. Our server was very nice, clearly knew what he was doing and passionate about the place. We ordered traditional cassoulet and beef tenderloin and both were fantastic. They also had a nice selection of wine and aperitif. Came for a quick lunch and stayed for over an hour and a half just loving it. Great place, they kept identity, peace and quiet in here! Highly recommended!

We dined here at the end of August so it was still warm enough to be seated in the courtyard, which had a wonderful atmosphere. I had the foie gras to start, followed by the cassoulet (had to be done while in Carcassonne) - both were delicious. The restaurant is down one of the side roads towards the back of the city, so it didn't feel touristy at all! All the staff are extremely friendly.

Such a lovely atmosphere here. Service was excellent. We felt welcomed and not rushed. Two stunning entries (lobster pasta and quail) and a perfect local wine recommendation. The cassoulet was the only surprise. Great flavor but no texture to the beans so maybe overcooked.

A lovely place richly decorated. Setting was beautiful. Service impeccable. Sommelier very helpful! Servers prompt and doting but not intrusive. The cheese trolley was amazing! The whole experience 5 stars. But… food does not wow you. They had everything else except great food. It was good but did not keep up with the standard of everything else Good to visit to experience a 5star service and setting but don’t expect the same from the food

We had our anniversary dinner here and absolutely loved it! I would definitely recommend booking in advance, we were very lucky to get a cancellation seat. We had the seasonal tasting memory and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food and the service was fantastic! The staff were so friendly and attentive - couldn’t fault anything. It was a windy/rainy night when we were there so we definitely want to return on a sunny evening to enjoy the outdoor seating.

We have been traveling in France for one month and a half, and this has been one of the greatest culinary experiences. All the dishes were delightful, but the duck breast was totally amazing. The service was also great and we had a lovely night.

From the time you sit down into this magnificent courtyard, everything is magical. Gauthier was incredible to council for the wines and Paul was looking after us all evening with clockwise precision !!! It got a bit fresh at the end of the meal and they moved us to comfortable leather armchairs inside for dessert. Nothing was too much for service. Food was crescendo, surprising tastes to start and tease your taste buds to the climax of desserts. Thank you !!

Live music Funky Divas played while the sun set over the castle: great view great atmosphere and food. During the summer great concerts and live music in a beautiful romantic garden. Hard to beat. The staff at the hotel is friendly and the food is lovely. Very nice cocktails and aperitifs before a night out or adter a long day. A new night spot in Carcassonne.

Memorable meal in Carcassonne, late September 2019. The maîtres d'hôtel could not find our reservation, but they were polite and found a nice table for us. The room is marvelous. We splurged on the expensive tasting menu, which provided one surprising item after another. All were beautiful, innovative and delicious. We also ordered the wine pairings, and the discussions with the young sommelier were a delight. Wonderful wines. And the service could not have been more attentive, graceful, and warm. Everything was elegant without being stiff or pompous. In a word--perfect. Deserving of its Michelin Star status. I adored the meal but the amount of food and wine was staggering. A dazzling procession of complex, clever, decorative, refined dishes — so much food! A plate of fish with accompaniments, a plate of beef with accompaniments, pork with accompaniments, and THREE desserts, AND a new wine with each item. Fabulous, but not something to do often! Next time I’ll choose something simpler at this lovely restaurant. Mais je ne regrette rien. To top it all off — the walk to the restaurant from our abode on Rue Longue was especially beautiful. Sunny as we walked up to the medieval city, and then magically moonlit as we walked home several hours later. I recommend!

Excellent vegetarian food, especially the Saint Marcelin cheese prepared in the oven with grated green apple and the baked pasta with black trumpet mushrooms. The chocolate coulant and vegan mojito were also great. Lovely service and they had an indoors seating area with AC and a high chair for the baby. Quite a fair price too, considering drinks, a few dishes to share, and a dessert came to about €20 per person.

On a 40C day they offered a delicious gazpacho as a starter as part of their set menu which went down extremely well, even though the restaurant itself was a furnace for those not acclimatised to the heat! Well cooked food and friendly service.

We enjoyed our lunch at this restaurant. Service was excellent. We were asked whether we liked air conditioning. They then led us to an air-conditioned place, making it very comfortable for us to enjoy the lunch in a hot day. Their staff also speak very good English. We chose the three course menu. Price was very reasonable. The dishes were delicious. The grilled squid dish was very good. The beef skewer was perfectly done to my preference: medium rare. The chocolate dessert was tasty too.

From the second Tomas answered the phone for our reservation, we understood that he was the positive energy of the place; sometimes one person just makes the whole difference and here it is like this: we knew we were in good hands! This boutique restaurant has only a few in- and outdoor seats, so it’s good to reserve, the menu is fusion Spanish/French and the wine card a good regional selection at fair prices. We were a couple for dinner that chose snails to start, a delicious tuna tartar with orange sauce and pickled red onion, veal skewer with potatoes, an very tasty blood sausage with pastry and apple, and for desert a Pain Perdue plus pineapple with lime sorbet, all with an excellent red Malapere, waters, bread and coffee for €50/pax.

We had a very enjoyable meal here. The selection and quality of food was different from the other local restaurants. It felt very intimate and staff made you feel like you were eating in their home. Tuna tartare, swordfish, veggie salad and lava cake were good choices. Wine was recommended with each course.

Absolutely fantastic. Menus in French, Spanish, AND English. Accommodating to tourists without losing the integrity of the local culture and cuisine. Staff super friendly and kind and helpful. Food is OUT OF THIS WORLD, and appropriate pricing for quality. HIGHLY recommend. 🫶💕

The food was very average. You’re restricted by location and they don’t have to try too hard to get a steady flow of people in. If you can’t find anywhere else then it’s perfectly fine but I wouldn’t return or rave about that it.

The wait staff could have been a little more interactive BUT we did have a large party so I think they were focused on getting the food out. Great atmosphere for our outside dinning and the food was almost a 5 star. The appetizer was a goat cheese egg roll which was hit or miss with our group (I really enjoyed it). Next we had the duck on a bed of sliced potatoes and it was VERY good. For dessert was pavlova aux fruit which was basically whipped cream, sugar glazed strawberries, and some crunchy white chocolate like thing underneath. We would eat here again.

If you’re in Carcassonne, this is a very good French restaurant! I recommend getting the foie gras to start with, duck leg for main or fish of the day, and Pavlova for dessert. We enjoyed all these dishes. Very nice setting too.

Pleasant restaurant with an outdoor terrace in the medieval city. The staff was very friendly and checked the allergen menu to confirm that the dish I had chosen was safe. I had squid in tomato sauce with rice and a plate of assorted cheeses for dessert. Everything was delicious. I didn't suffer any reaction at all.

Very nice small restaurant. Has a lunch and dinner service both for about 2 hours. So one set of covers and no turning tables as far as I can tell. We both had fixed price menus. My starter salad with goats cheese and figs was amazing. We both had the cassoulet. It came to the table still simmering in an earthenware bowl. Some restaurants had graded levels of cassoulet but here it was the full duck leg, Toulouse sausages and pork version. The beans on top were slightly overdone to the point of being blackened. So overall a bit too done in the oven but definitely cooked in the bowl. Also did thicken nicely during the eating. Nice chocolate melt in the middle cake for dessert. Helpful and friendly waiters. Small team but efficient.

Nice quiet terrace lures you in but the food and the service is awful. Steak - so dry even a 7 year old rejected it; pesto pasta - tasteless, not sure how anyone can make such awful pasta; chips - soggy. We all left feeling hungry and poor. Avoid.

Such a shame that this beautiful restaurant does not care that they serve sub standard food and don’t seem to care. The started of pate and bread was generous and tasty. I ordered duck but was presented with chicken. Had to wait for my duck, which was fine. When it arrived it was bloody and cold so sent back. It was taken with a huff from the waitress. . A few minutes later she brought it back, it was still bloody and barely warm. I left most of it as too chewy. My friend had mussels that were also cold and the beards had not been removed. The waitress made no comment when clearing our plates even though they were both full of uneaten food. She only asked if we wanted dessert! The couple at the table next to us from Argentina said their food was not good either.

We liked the atmosphere and menu looked good so we gave it a shot. Despite the light rain, we chose to sit outside and still gave it a 4 on the atmosphere. The pasta was overcooked and did not have much truffle flavour. The caesar salad had chicken nuggets

We ate her on our last night in Carcassonne. The atmosphere and ambiance is lovely the staff have great English but the service and quality of food leaves a lot to be desired. They forgot one of my daughter’s pizza and my other daughter couldn’t eat her steak it was so tough. We left without the missing pizza because they took so long to bring it out. The manager took both items off our bill after I complained. The waitress was less than apologetic wouldn’t recommend at all. Very disappointed for our last evening in Carcassonne

Had salmon pasta and Caesar salad. Both were no taste. Need salt need taste need oil ?? Not sure. Just can’t cook. Too crowded so we sat inside so no atmosphere too!!. Gave a star for toilet . Otherwise only one star😉

Mixed feelings about this place. Beautiful terrace in the back under the protection of trees. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious Cassoulet Maison and tasty cider. While the fries with the Entrecôte grillée were fantastic… the cut of steak was pretty bad… very tough, much of it was not eatable.

Tourist. 1st time. Menu in English, Spanish, and French. We stayed nearby with our French friends and they took us here while visiting the castle. It is a hidden gem - next to all of the restaurants that are busy with people sitting in the square. This place has a large, back courtyard covered by the trees and is absolutely beautiful and more quiet. Very nice for families with strollers. Drinks: brut cider, beer, wine, Monaco beer (sugar syrup added to the beer) Food: I tried the “famous to South France cassoulet” - a mix between a casserole and a stew. Has a duck leg, sausage, white beans and is very good. Comes out HOT. Duck reminds me of the dark meat from a turkey. The chicken Caesar salad is in a large bowl and very delicious. The pesto pasta comes hot in a pot with a lid. Cute presentation but delicious. Light on the olive oil but heavy on the pine nuts. Side of fries was good. Small, crispy but ok.

Had the beef with mushrooms. My husband had Escargot. For dessert we had Pavlova. Service was very good and efficient. Our server was helpful when we were ordering.

Average mass assembled dishes. The escalivada was a mush of bell peppers with anchovies topped with rocket leaves on soggy bread, all heaped on a wooden board that has seen better days. For main, the ribs were dry, salty and covered with some tasteless glazing served with cold French fries, and a poorly prepared ketchup. The quantities in the plates are not for the faint of heart and probably used to justify the prices. Service was cordial and atmosphere was relaxed. Not a place to visit again.

Went here for dinner. It was recemmended to us. Food was excellent (menu is quite extensive), wine gorgeous & staff extremely friendly. We booked a table - it was a Monday evening & the restaurant was pretty full.

Incredible, incredible food. We licked our plates clean, and I may have teared up a little at the pork ngl. Friendly service, we made eachother laugh. And a very classic, timeless, passionate atmosphere that cared about the little details. 100% recommend. Carcassone has some great food but this was a highlight for us. Pictured is everything off the set menu - soup, egg, tuna, pork, chocolat and fruit. Soup, pork and fruit were our favourites. Beautiful, evolving flavours. Emphatically recommend

Wasn’t expecting much in the centre of Carcassonne as it’s a very tourist area, but the 3 course set menu was well priced and the food tasted amazing. We got there early for lunch and were the first…but very quickly it filled up with people waiting outside. Would highly recommend!

Our lunch was far better than we anticipated being in such a tourist area. We tried the three course lunch. Spectacular. Auberge de Dame Carcas serves a great cassoulet. Our salads were fresh. The pate was terrific. We had very nice service even during a frenetic lunch rush. Both the patio and dining room are nice. Totally enjoyed it.

This was the highlight of our trip to Carcassonne - it is one of the best restaurants I have been to, and was incredible value. The set menus are €18 and €25, and you get 3 courses with that. I would recommend the duck confit - it was perfectly cooked, and came with amazingly seasoned veg. The service was also incredible - my french isn't great, but the wait staff were understanding and most speak a little bit of English. We were not waiting long, and felt welcomed by the staff. I would definitely come here again.

Very self confident owner and cook. I suppose because he created his own world about “Champion du monde”…. this title since 2009? Or there are some new info? Hm, very interesting! I was trying to give a chance for your pizza several times… but it’s not edible at all. So, first, let’s start with classic and simple Margarita: pizza dough…. -it’s always burned outside and not cook inside at all , dough is sticky I wonder how it’s possible ?? Sure it’s VERY IMPORTANT to make your signature one knot 🪢 but it’s still NOT cooked. 2d home made Pesto, where from comes an idea to make it with fresh garlic? To keep it more smelly and not digest? (Same you are doing with tomato sauce). Awful People think it’s best pizza in Carcassonne and no one dare to say that it’s not good! I suppose it’s because you are very kind with your Bonjour and au revoir! That’s how you have a high note ? I think you should take a seat and eat your own creation to understand better what is wrong with your final product. P.S. why do you put those flowers??? They are not comestible! To hide something else probably ! Sorry for your creative style.

Great pizza restaurant well worth the walk from the centre of Carcassonne. Unique approach where high quality fresh ingredients are assembled on cooked bases and then served without further heating. Friendly staff and a personal “thank you” from chef Rabah himself made for a great experience. Thoroughly recommended.

What an amazing place! Generous pizza, creative and tasty, with a wide variety of quality ingredients and the best dough. It's not just your regular pizza, but more like a work of Art. The place is stylish, warm and cozy, the staff very welcoming, and you can tell the chef is going for the extra mile with every little details, greeting each customer and pouring his heart in every pizza. Even the toilets are awesome in this place. My only regret is that we didn't stay long enough in town to go back for another dinner.

The staff kindly accommodated us when we turned up without a reservation on a Sunday evening. The Margarita pizza was superb, definitely one of the best I've eaten - the basil and Mozzarella, in particular, were deliciously fresh. If we ever find ourselves in Carcassonne again, we'll know where to eat (and will be sure to book ahead!) Merci!

Absolutely amazing pizza! Freshest ingredients, best dough and stunning presentation. This pizzeria is a must try! Me and my husband visited from London and it was the best pizza we have had around the world. Lovely staff too!

Still a very good restaurant, personnel charming, warm atmosphere, great decoration, but 'attention'... Quantities in the plates are becoming smaller... It's becoming a bit too much 'nouvelle cuisine' style... So if you are a bit hungry, you may be disappointed....😅.. But still a great experience 👍

Surprising find in middle of housing estate! Well worth tracking it. Food, service and value for money all excellent. Had the best salad starter ever at short notice too! Wine was well priced, eclectic decor and great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Great from start to finish. We were a party of 4 and everyone loved their meals. The staff were friendly and attentive. The location is great. If you're in the area this place should definitely be top of the list of places to eat

Cannot recommend this place enough! Some of the THE most fabulous food I have eaten!! Location is a little off the beaten track but absolutely worth the effort to get there. Beautifully designed restaurant with a great fixed price menu. Had a lovely glass of sangria as an aperitif, for starters, I had tuna and my husband had scollops. Now I know we're from the Midlands where seafood generally leaves a lot to be desired, but my goodness, this was amazing!! For our main course my husband had duck and I had beef. Both were cooked to absolute perfection. Portions were huge! Then a cheese plate each, then we both chose lemon sorbet for desert, my husband's had a cheeky vodka in it. I had a coffee to finish and it was all washed down with a bottle of delicious local wine. When our bill was made we couldn't believe the price tag of £80! Felt like an absolute steal for the amount of courses, portions, the phenomenal cooking and fantastic service. We're only staying here for three nights, already tempted to go again tomorrow. Well worth a visit

We had lunch here as a party of 4 and have only positive things to say. We had a mix of the tacos (beef, chicken and veggie/ vegan), a couple of poke bowls and also some patatas and every single dish was excellent. One of us is vegan and there were two delicious option on the menu with plenty more vegetarian ones to choose from too. We were also very impressed with the choice of alcohol free drink options. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food and drinks arrived very quickly. Fantastic experience and truly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful lunch!

The cafe has a very good atmosphere and even though it was a busy day we could be seated right away. The personnel didn't spoke English that well but they made it up with their great attitude; and you can always point at the menu if you're not fluent in French like me. It was a bit pricy but the food tasted great!

What a great bar. We had cocktails here several times during our week-long stay in Carcassonne and in our opinion this is to best place in town to drink a cocktail or a beer. It's a beautiful bar with great cocktails and a great atmosphere right in the middle of the old town. Service is fast and speaks good English. It is also possible to eat something here, but we didn't do that so we can't review that.

A lovely venue with a nice vibe and atmosphere. The staff are friendly, just not super attentive. We were waiting a while for another drink and to have our plates cleared away. The food we ordered wasn't great. The beef tataki was more cooked through than seared, it was cut too thick and was chewy. The accompanying sauce wasn't a familiar Asian flavour. I guess it just wasn't to our taste. The tapas plate with the curried mussels was quite nice, just the stuffed peppers were stone cold, fresh out of the fridge, which wasn't pleasant. The tacos looked good, on the next table. The beer and cocktails here are good, and it's one of the best spots in the cite medievale for a nice relaxed drink, away from the madding crowd. The vibe at night is very good. Definitely worth a look

We were reeeally hungry after walking around the castle and we saw this place had a lovely courtyard with lots of tables, shade and a nice menu. We didn't realise they don't do food at 3pm (more like at 7pm ish) but we were still offered a charcuterie board, poke bowls or a cheese board. We ended up going for meat one to get us going until dinner time and, what a good decision! It's was really tasty and a fair price (18€) 😋 👌

We just walked in and tried out this restaurant. Service was wonderful and the servers were both friendly, helpful and patient with us. They explained the dishes we were interested in and we chose to have the Angus Beef and the grilled Rabbit. Both dishes were good. Nicely cooked and presented well. The look of this place caught our eye. Quirky, with a good vibe. Inside it had lots of energy. We didn't have a booking so had to sit outside across the lane, which was actually nice and a quieter, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent. The grilled rabbit was not what I expected but was very good. It was almost like a pulled pork style and it wasn't served with pomme frites (as advertised) but with small potatoes. Delicious nonetheless. The entrecote of beef must have been unavailable but pleasantly it was switched to a fillet. Fries were served with this and they were excellent. We somehow accidentally ordered two cheeseboards instead of one to share, but we didn't mind and they were good. Reasonably priced and definitely worth a try

Absolutely the best dinner we had whilst staying in Carcassonne. The restaurant felt so intimate and cosy, overall it all felt very authentic. The food was so delicious and whilst the staff didn't speak English, they were incredibly friendly and helpful. Loved it.

Very disappointing meal. The rabbit terrine starter was the dried up end which most restaurants cut off and do not serve to diners. The grilled rabbit was raw and tasteless and the chips with it a disgrace . The cassoulet was tasty but dried up and burned on top as far as too long waiting in the oven. Service was dreadfully slow. We were told no bread was available when we stared meal but would come in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later after being given 2 dried bits of old bread we were given fresh- which was burnt black. See photos. Staff were working g hard but the kitchen clearly couldn't cope with the large number of tables set up outside.

Great food at the bistrot d'Alice! We had steak tartare, rabbit, season salad and cassoulet (yes, in the august heat...but I had to try it). Everything was great, tasty, cooked with care. I would recommend to avoid the restaurants for tourists in the cite medievale and to come down here to taste real languedoc cooking.

This restaurant is a very special place in the centre of Carcassonne just off Place Carnot. It has a very warm and homely atmosphere and the staff are fabulous. We visited in the evening and the three of us had 2 steaks, rabbit then 2 rum babas and a chocolate mousse. It was all beautifully cooked and full of flavour. We have visited France many times and this is definitely one of our favourite gastronomic experiences. It is highly recommended.

All food pre-cooked and served too quickly. Beef starter wasn't to my liking as Passion fruit vinaigrette didn't go with anchovy and beef. The egg starter was a nice idea but needed more work. Pork dish was tasteless, tough, and sad hunk off fat. Sea Bream was look warm alongside the cuscus Risotto with a bland cold white sauce puddings were lovely but guess they were bought in.

This chef is pushing boundaries that warrant Michelin attention. As I understand it, there is only one chef doing this, alone and without any other chefs. That's quite incredible to even come close to the big guns, the energy and the live and passion on display will be familiar to Mr Putelat. And yet we continue, the restaurant grows in customers, in reviews, in joy and in passion. So let me lay it down clearly folks: If you want to eat the most pleasurable, local and exciting food then you know where to find it: here. This team is at the top of its game. It won't last long. We hope and pray that it is not destroyed by the 'chase for a star'. So now is the time. Book in advance. Be certain that you got the best one! ... Et Bon Appétit!

The service was great and we went with reservation. Ask the availability to sit downstairs because the space it’s like a cave, gorgeous. The food was beautiful and very well presented although both main dishes were lacking salt and seasoning. Average spend: 40-60 eur per person.

A fantastic evening in familly ( 4 of us)after 8 hours travelling from the come lac in Italy. We had a fantastic buratta as a starter for me and finished sharing it with the other 3 ha ha ha ......then a combo the tapas of seafood for two A duck breast ( ordered rose and the cooking point was just oerfect. Very well cooked and very soft meat just has it should be) and a cassoulet to have even if you are not hungry ( one of the best one I ever had( and not to mentioned that I'm a chef and very well travelled) and dessert and also 2 bottles of limoux ( was very well balanced with a fantastic fresh acidity) not yo mentioned the bread whom was just fantastic. Anyway just to say a really nice place with nice people's .a very nice young waitress andl the owner also very very nice and very welcoming A place to recommend if you want to have nice food with a non pretentious service but we'll executed and a nice evening without unneeded interruption Once again from me and my familly thank you for a fantastic evening Sebastien

What surprised me the most, is the great job of the two waitresses that manage all customers just by themselves and always with a smile. Food was amazingly tasty and the location inside the castle just a dream. I maybe missed a terrace with a view, but the inner yard is nice and cozy.

Dishes I took (onion soup and casserole with duck and pork) were average but my boyfriend’s starter (toast with ham) and chicken were very good. Desserts were tasty as well.

Got a good write up in the Telegraph which seems to translate to uncritical reviews on Google and Trippie amongst the English visitors. The place is tucked away and was quiet at first though it gradually filled up. You sit out back in a garden / courtyard of sorts - in danger of being eaten when the mosquitoes are out, one of us was bitten a few times. The starters we had were good if expensive, salmon and tuna. The veal main was dull, but edible. The cassoulet was just dull (it is a dull dish everywhere, no getting away from it, shouldn't have ordered it). 50cl bottles of wine were a good option. If I had a column in a national newspaper, could I eat for free?

The food was pretty good but the pasta with truffles wasn't really my taste! We appreciated the service !

Very special place a bit out of the inner city. But worth the walk!! Very camp interior and yummy dishes. We had to wait a bit long but were instantly rewarded with a free and equally camp and delicious pavlova... reserve a table if you go... we were plain lucky!

This hidden gem was a perfect blend of Atmosphere and Ambience. It's a little ivy covered romantic haut that served some of the best steak and truffle pasta in the region. Coupled with superior service it was a home run. Resevations are a must - we tried 3xs as a walkin without any luck and now we know why. Make plans to visit this local favorite when in Carcassone and make time to enjoy a cocktail and enjoy the full dining experience.

This is such a charming little restaurant...exactly the kind of place I dreamt of visiting. It has a comforting, cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff were friendly, the food was absolutely delicious, and the coffee? Pure French magic with a touch of Southern charm. My only wish is that they had more restrooms. Other than that, it was a perfect experience.

Lovely place, great staff. Had 3 course meal deal. First, was onion soup, gorgeous! I then tried the cassoulet which was nice, but this dish was not really to my taste sadly. My wife had pork loins in garlic, which she loved. Finished with pudding similar to creme brulee for me and crepe with caramel sauce for my wife, both delicious.

Nice, cozy restaurant serving rich, hearty casserolet. The creme brülée was really really delicious. The minus point is because the restaurant only has 1 toilet without toilet seat so the ladies do not like it.

I had 18 euro set menu. The starter :goat cheese salad was great. It was a very tasty fresh salad with good salad dressing. The main : steak pasta This was ok. The sauce does not have much taste. Desert: pear tarts This tart was delicious. Reasonable price for set meal. Also, waiters are pretty friendly.

Great value lunch with super service. The Irish waiter was super helpful to all of the customers with limited French .. like me.

Appalling from start to finish. The food , when it arrived was served at various temperatures. Hot potatoes cold lamb. Cold chips and hot steak. The steak was inedible. The service was so slow. Left with finished meal in front of us for 20 minutes. Service appalling. Stood at the bar for 10 minutes waiting to pay whilst the owner/manager avoided eye contact.

The food at this restaurant was pretty good - we had the calamari, and it was cooked nicely and served with a nice garlic sauce. One of the waiters spoke great English, but the service was pretty slow and we were waiting a while. I would recommend coming at lunch over dinner - there is a set menu that is great value.

Simply amazing, given I don't talk a word of French this restaurant couldn't have been more accommodating. The food is fabulous, the beer is incredible and the bread, well that's just next level.

Very disappointing experience. The duck was burnt on the outside but mostly raw inside, and the fries were refried so many times they couldn’t be eaten. The Planche de Charcuterie was almost inedible—overly salty, tough, and not fresh. To make matters worse, the waiter even commented to the next table, “Look, they are so wasteful.” Totally unacceptable. One star is already too generous.

Avoid this place, they was so racist, we tried to speak with the waitres to ask for our desert but he ignored to us several times, but he was realy polite with the locals. Really disgusting behavior.

This place isn't just about incredible value. It's also about the amazing quality of the food and warmth of the owners. Yes, €35 for seven courses and €4 for a decent glass of wine is basically unheard of in France in 2025 but the quality is really up there too. This is a very talented partnership! I also wanted to make a real point of how amazing it was not to be made to feel second place/sub priority as not only a solo diner but also a vegetarian. Often in higher end restaurants offering taster menus, I find there are little hidden supplements for both of these but it was so nice to just be treated as a 'regular diner'. I was made to feel exceptionally welcome. I must also mention the very creative and delicious vegetarian alternatives (fennel bacon, yum!), all done at the last minute as I squeezed in on the day with just a few hours notice. This is how a restaurant should be run!! A very very special place. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area, I doubt you'll find a better option locally!

We visited this amazing restaurant on two occasions on the recommendation of our host Marie-Dolores when we were in Carcasonne earlier this month. Having a 5 course dinner with a divine red wine on our first night & Lunch on our last day. The food was superb on both occasions. The hosts were a husband and wife team who prepared and presented all of the dishes, while managing the front of house extremely well. It was so memorable that we hope to return in 2025.

High quality of food. Innovative surprising dishes and tastes. Note that plates are for two persons except dessert and soup. Just wanna set the expectation. Good price 35 euro per person for a seven course set menu dinner. More veggies dishes than meat and it tastes totally amazing.

We had 6 courses; starter, veggie entree, fish, meat and two desserts. Everything was exceptional. You must book in advance as it is so popular and you can see why. Each corse was delicious, fresh and a beautiful blend of flavours. Best wine by the glass I’ve had in South West France. La vie de rose cocktail was also delicious as was my wife’s alcohol free Shirley Temple. Staff very attentive and friendly. Lovely decor. Highly recommend

Perfection. 7 course degustation. Intense flavours of in season vegetables. Explanation was conversational. A truly enjoyable evening. A taste sensation in every course.

The best meal I’ve ever had? Most probably. Pick your wine and then the rest is up to the chef! You will not regret it. Each course was a deliciously delicate explosion of flavour combinations. We were very grateful to get a booking (thanks to our AirBnb hosts) as I couldn’t get through on the phone from the UK. I thought about just looking elsewhere but the photos, reviews and a feeling told me to persist and I’m incredibly happy to have done so. Thank you so much, for a food experience I will never forget.

We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant today! The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. We ordered the special of the day: stuffed squid with risotto and cassoulet — and everything tasted amazing.

Had their stew on a cold day while it was raining outside, it really hit the spot. A little greasy on the olive duck. Prices are very good for the location and what is given. Attentive service, never had to wait more than 3 minutes for plates to be taken away after finishing, don't know why other reviews complained about derive. The restaurant was busy when I went.

Had a lovely lunch here. We tried our French but luckily plenty of staff spoke English saving us mangling the language! Both kids had burgers which the chef helpfully did well done to cater for English tastes, they both loved them. I had the lasagne which was very tasty and filling. My wife had the Casoulet which she enjoyed greatly. Great service, clean facilties and we really enjoyed our meal, at a very reasonable price

Surprised to read bad reviews because our dinner was fantastic! We had 2 of the salads (goats cheese and tomato burrata) which were huge and delicious. Also duck leg with fries which were amazing. Desserts were also delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere. 5 🌟 and I'm quite lucky about where and what I eat!!

Visited for breakfast late morning and ordered the omelette with cheese and herbs, it was amazing. Best omelette I've every had. My partner had the some bread and jam which was charged at 5€, you didn't get that much for your money but it was nice. Overall really nice and would visit again :D

Waiter was very unfriendly, brought the wrong tea despite us telling him twice while ordering. Cups and pots dirty and broken, toilet should be cleaner.

The local dish the casoulette was tasty, although the tartar is not recommended. It's not prepared, just few of ingredients and you have to mix it yourself. For this I wouldn't ask it in restaurant, I would prepare it at home. As well, the place is full of flies

Cosy and comfortable restaurant, a good place to try French cuisine and the local specialities. The place is more frequented by locals, being a bit off center. The food is good and comes in big portions and sensible prices. Try cassoulet, which is a speciality of Languedoc and is a dish with meat and beans, slowly cooked in a casserole. Dog friendly

Fabulous food at a reasonable price

Nice atmosphere and the waitress (both) was very nice. The older man seems a little grumpy and gets even more grumpy if you have bad french (quite funny really). The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Recommend the salads and the coffee is of good quality. Seems like a lot of locals go there which is a good sign.

Home made foie gras, delicious!

Good food, good service and friendly staff. We decided to have both the starter and mains special of the day both were excellent. Our starter was an excellent salad, our main course was pork cooked on the rib with onion and mushroom along with fries, pork was really succulent, we finished our meal with tarte tatin as French a desert as you can get. Finished off with coffee and local Carcassonne liqueur creme de menthe, liquid after eight, all this for around €40, if we return to Carcassonne we'll be happy to return here.

August 2025: Atmosphere was fantastic, service was very slow. Had a Grimberger Blonde 33cl and La Bête 25cl. €9.80. Lovely atmosphere listening to a jazz saxophonist in the square!

The bread is old and dry, salt is non existant in the food, fries are soggy and too oily….. In general the food is really bad, probably one of the worst eating experiences i’ve had till now. The service was okay though, bartender was friendly.

We had croque monsieurs and american sandwiches. The food was really bad, everything was super bland, croque monsier was just the cheapest white toast with one slice of ham and cheese toasted a bit, it says it's served with salad and fries, salad was maybe two leaves of lettuce roughly chopped with a bit of fries on top. Had actual croque monsieur with proper ingredients and taste in Nice as well as Czech Republic and it cost less than the 7.5 euros we paid for one of these. American sandwiches were stale baguette with soggy fries and some meat, no sauce, no anything which was completely tasteless and one sandwich also had a completely raw meat part. Service was ok at least, maybe the place is ok for a beer stop in the center, but food tastes very much like a bad fast food scam.

Do not eat here if you value you personal safety. The slow service , overpriced menu ( 28€ for a starter of anchovies and tomato! 10€ for a 75cl bottle of water) overcooked food and warm white wine were bad enough. But when we commented on it we were verbally and physically assaulted by the chef. Unbelievable.

A fatal combination of arrogance and limited competence. Morille omelettes which would work better as run flat tyres. Ris d'agneau of a similar industrial rubber consistency. Warm white wine and no ice bucket. 75cl mineral water at 10 Euros a bottle. Service very slow but possibly the result of the one man kitchen. A complete refusal to acknowledge this feedback given politely at the moment of bill payment. Rather a reaction of incoherent violence. This restaurant deserves to fail as profoundly as it fails its innocent customers.

Original organic recipes with local and foraged food. A little pretensious menu but the cepes to die for! Very expensive. Other diners skipped the starters.

Fantastic. They're open for lunch and dinner, just make sure to make a reservation if you're going for dinner, because they are popular and have one seating (8pm) for dinner which is often booked up.

Very acceptable tourist restaurant in the honeypot of the Cité. We thought we received good service and good food for the price and location. I don't understand the negative reviews.

DO NOT EAT HERE, if you like french cuisine. The servers are behaving badly and are not at all kind. We've ordered entrecôte medium rare, it arrived as more than well done. And more than half of it it's just fat. Just disgusting. The fries are the tastless fries ever. Just save your money go literaly anywhere else!!!

Burger was nice. Rude staff. Got charge 7 euro because my wife took 2 bites of my burger after she took one beer. Staff said it was written on the menu and they are "restaurant" and serve food. Felt like being scammed. Yes you are right it was written, but guess what, I'm not in the mood of reading fine prints like a lawyer while in vacation, and im still the one paying and came out of your establishment angry. Avoid this place, there's other nice food around.

We stopped in for dinner on a drizzly evening and were greeted and sat right away. We had the French Onion soup and Wild Boar stew. Everything was absolutely delightful. We also asked for rosé recommendations and received a wonderful option after describing what we like. Very affordable for a touristy spot. 10/10 highly recommend!

Absolutely terrible service with very average (but overpriced) food. We visit Carcassonne every year and definitely will not be back. There's much nicer food and lovely staff in other restaurants. Wish I had looked at reviews before going here, don't make the same mistake we made - eat elsewhere!

We had an early dinner. Ordered two of the Open face cheese sandwiches with fries. Both were very fresh and tasty. Dessert, bread pudding, was absolutely awful. It was like some kind of bizarre sliced something with that that carnation dehydrated sweetened milk poured over it. Really inedible. Service was okay. If I'd stopped with just the food this would be a four-star review, but the dessert was downright sickening.

Great hosts amazing food. We ordered 4 cheeses pizza. Was brilliant for the kids. Wood fired pizza had perfect crust and was flavourful. Hosts are happy to customise dishes.

If you're looking for a unique citadel experience this is it! The terrace is on a tiny narrow street that is busy during the day but in the evening it gets more quiet (coincidentally that is when they open up for dinner - 7pm). We didn't sit inside as we were a bigger group (8 people, some smokers) but from what we could see, the atmosphere inside is also medieval tavern - like. The food was tasty! Some of us got cassoulet (good, quite filling, would not recommend getting any other entrees if you plan on ordering it), others got the octopus (cooked pretty good, wasn.t chewy at all!), some got the druck breast (was really moist, duck fat cooked properly, wasn't chewy at all!) and others got the fried quail (delicious!). Only comment I would make is - if you don't like curry, ask the waitress if there. s any in the recipe as we got the purees for the duck/quail/octopus with curry in them (and it somewhat overshadowed the meats, unfortunately). Overall it was a good experience! Would totally recommend!

Our favourite restaurant of the weekend. This is a beautiful building both inside and out. The service was very warm and friendly. The interior is like an old cottage, with lots of character. Every dish we ate was excellent and the pizzas are a highlight. The crème brûlée is also well worth trying. Price was very fair for a lovely evening. There is a larger upstairs too so don’t be put off if busy downstairs.

The pizza was so delicious that we ended up ordering more for takeaway the next day. It was very warm inside, but our group was too large to sit outside; there is an aircon unit but it was turned off. The table that I was seated at was too low to get my legs under, and the chairs are extremely uncomfortable.

A solid spot for lunch with friendly servers, awesome pizzas, and lovely decor/good vibe. The pizza dough tasted very fresh and so did the toppings. The entire restaurant - downstairs, upstairs, and the washroom - was also super clean and tidy. We were glad to get away from the “tourist trap” pizza places in the main square. This place deserves its higher rating.

The food could not be better, we ordered 4 different types of burgers and all of them was simply delicious. The fries were also good and they also have a nice selection of sauces made in-house. The wine was as good as you can expect for the price. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately I can't give it 5 stars because the wait was way too long, I wish I could give it 4.5. It took long for them to take our order and it took long for the order to arrive. I don't know if it's a recurring problem or we were unlucky, so please don't make your choice only based on this. But if it's a recurring problem I'd definitely recommend the staff to hire more people. A real shame, once again the food is really really good. I definitely recommend it.

My burger was delicious but I was sweating bullets in there while I was eating. The water and beer I got were lukewarm as well. If you go, I do not recommend going near when they open because of those downsides I mentioned above. Also, the serving size for the ice cream was about a 1/3 of what you would get for the same price at an ice cream place. Still recommend the burgers though.

Supermarket canteen style food. You help yourself to starters, dessert and drinks plus break and order your main at the till. You get a buzzer that alerts you when your main is ready. Reasonably priced. 12 euro bavette with veg. Seating downstairs and upstairs. Was busy when we went. Food ok.

Trombatore Matteo, an Italian boy did his best to serve us, despite the language differences that he tried a lot to overcome them, the best he could. We are very grateful to him for his commitment to making us feel very well taken care of. We give it a 10! The other boys also did very well. I know, its supermarket place, and my expectation were not high at all - we were hungry, on the route on holidays ... But I stil got a surprize 🤣 The guy who served us at the till was also the one to give me the food. So I went to the food point with the ticket and this guy was cutting raw meat in his gloves at the time. He then proceeded without hesitation to grab a clean plate and a ladle and splashed this food on to my plate with dirty, greasy raw meat glove fingers touching inside of my plate. I didnt thought its possibile to see that in restaurants nowadays and here we are.... Think i was too shocked to speak Parts of foods I have tried - supergreasy and no flavour of any kind... On the plus side my husband dessert was ok...

Set up was a little weird . You walked around the starters to choose and it was expensive. You choose from a menu your main meal and paid for it. The main meal was all you can eat. The chef was lovely , the people were lovely. Customer service was the best. But i found the main meal to have no flavour. Nothing had salt or seasoning added . So the food tasted plane .

This is what you would expect of a French "cafeteria" . Essentially, a self service restaurant in a shopping area. This is a good place for a quick lunch, nothing fancy but no fuss, plenty of choice of food and room to sit inside and outside ( near the car park).

It's a supermarket café but a very good one. Breakfast (coffee, roll, jam, butter, croissant, orange juice) for €5.60, served (counter) by an extremely polite and efficient young man.

Nice place for an unexpensive meal. Menu changes from day to day so one day it can be average and another day really nice. Still, haven't yet regretted stopping by 🙂.

Food was ok. Served fast. But we were there at a quiet moment and it was dirty. The tables weren't clean, the toilet was dirty. On a busy moment I can understand a little bit. But when it's calm they have time to clean.

It's was lovely , customer service excellent. My son dropped his bag of onion rings and they replaced them instantly. They currently have a promotion on through their online app. We looked and had 600 crowns , we ended up buying meals for 4 people and only paid €14. Couldn't believe it . Was so worth it !

I liked the King Chicken, as it seemed to have a great blend of spice, but not so much to overpower the taste or the tongue.

Lunch time, mid-day to 2pm is extremely busy here. Most orders are placed at the automated kiosks inside the door but you could wait in a queue for more than 20 mins to get your order. There is no information board telling which order number is ready you just have to wait in line and hope that your order is correct. They do call out your order number but it can be difficult to hear when it's busy. A little tip, the system they use does not cope well with large orders. If you have a large order consider splitting it into two separate orders. You will get it quicker and less chance of mistakes. Otherwise the food is fresh and the place is clean. Lots of parking.

Excellent little cafe with good food at a reasonable price. Some of the nearby places stop serving food at 2PM but this place doesn't. Our waitress was excellent and friendly and really tried to speak English. There were some rude people next to us who apparently needed the concept of a burger explained to them and she did it in a friendly and helpful way. The toilet is naff but that seems to be standard in France.
