Osteria a Priori is a cozy restaurant and bar located in the heart of Perugia. The establishment offers a wide selection of wines and has a lovely summer terrace for guests to enjoy.
We had the chicken and veal pate, which was very flavorful, and with the fig and cheese combination it was amazing. The cheese was very intense and you could see the great quality from how it crumbled. Second courses were the pork with truffles and the lamb rolle, very tender and well done. The rustic jam tart and the brownie were the best way to end the meal. Everything was very delicious. Very important: make reservations in advance. The place is always full.

My husband and I dined here last night and it was exceptional. We have visited more than 20 cities in Italy and this is the best pasta we’ve ever had - the strangozzi caserecci al tartufo nero. Our waitress, Rebecca, was so lovely and even provided recommendations for other local restaurants. We can’t wait to return to Perugia and dine here again.
Vanessa B — Google review
What a fantastic dinner full of amazing Italian flavors! I highly recommend the cappellacci and agnolotti — they were absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, and so fresh. But the most wonderful part of the evening was our lovely waiter Alberto, who truly made our night. He was incredibly kind, warm, and made us feel so welcome. We're deeply grateful for his care and attention — thank you, Alberto! Sending you our warmest greetings! Aleksandra and Daria
Aleksandra Z — Google review
Tasty pasta, delicious rose wine, very pleasant service. The dessert- ricotta pie, was not to our taste, a little too dry. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Andreea V — Google review
Osteria a Priori is a true gem in the heart of Perugia! 🍷 The menu isn’t large, but every dish is thoughtfully selected and full of authentic Umbrian flavor. The main courses feature around five types of meat, all perfectly prepared, and the appetizers are simply outstanding. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, located within historic wine cellars that also house a lovely wine shop offering excellent local wines. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service is impeccable. Prices are very fair, especially considering the quality and experience. I was absolutely delighted and can warmly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience genuine Umbrian cuisine!
Marie — Google review
One of my most favourite places to eat in Perugia. I went there multiple times with various different friends who were visiting while I spent 3 weeks in Perugia. They all loved it too. The amazing food, incredibly friendly service and delicious rosé wine kept me coming back. The best pasta I’ve ever eaten is made there and I wouldn’t hesitate to return when I visit again. I highly recommend this place to eat at, again and again. Book in advance as understandably, it’s super popular.
Michelle B — Google review
The food is simple. They generally don't have traditional, authentic dishes, but Beatrice's service was impeccable the wine very good at decent price, and overall it was a pleasant dinner

Osteria a Priori is a beloved restaurant in the historic heart of Perugia, known for celebrating Umbrian cuisine and local produce. Housed in a medieval building on Via dei Priori, it offers a warm, rustic setting with shelves of regional wines, olive oils, and cheeses. The menu highlights seasonal ingredients from small local farms—think handmade pasta with truffles, lentil stews, and traditional meats like wild boar.

The Palazzo dei Priori, located in Perugia, Italy, has a rich history dating back to ancient times. Originally known as 'Perusia,' the city witnessed significant events such as the civil war between Octavian Augustus and Marcus Anthony. After being rebuilt by Emperor Augustus, it flourished during the Middle Ages and became part of the State of the Church in 1531. The establishment of the Government of Consuls and the University further contributed to its historical significance.
Beautifull palace which is part of a complex with Collegio del Cambio and it makes it one of the biggest italian buildings. Inside is now a national gallery. Nice stone carved entrance and beautiful stairs on the other side of building.
Rok S — Google review
Beautiful palazzo on Perugia's most important square with a fresco decorated main hall. The main hall (pretty much separate from the rest of the building and the art gallery) is often open due to concerts and other events (sometimes private, like weddings). It's worth visiting for its beauty and history.

It was built in 1293-97, but various modifications and changes were made until 1500. It is located in the center of the city , what was once, as today, the fulcrum of the political and social life of the community. Its construction was decided to give an appropriate seat to the judiciary body, but above all because Perugia was experiencing its period of maximum expansion and the need was perceived to flaunt its state of well-being, trying to represent the great municipal ambitions.

Elfo Pub is a unique and fascinating bar that attracts beer enthusiasts with its wide selection of craft beers. The interior is adorned with quirky decor, including a suspended bicycle and an assortment of ale mats and street signs. The menu features an extensive list of brews with diverse names like Peek a Boo, Caramel Fudge, and Dead Guy Ale. Visitors can seek recommendations from the knowledgeable and friendly staff or the owner, Natale, who has a deep understanding of beer.
I gave this pub a 5 out of 5 stars, having a wonderful experience. As a craft beer enthusiast, I entered without knowing what to expect, but I was warmly welcomed by the waitstaff and the manager. I greatly appreciated the diversity of craft beers on the menu, including numerous Italian-specific ones. The waitstaff were very helpful and provided excellent recommendations. In the end, it was a brilliant experience that I recommend.

Rocca Paolina is a historic fortress in Perugia, Italy, built in the mid-16th century by Pope Paul III. It was constructed as a demonstration of power and to strengthen the city's defensive walls after the Vatican forces occupied Perugia. The fortress stands as a symbol of papal authority and remained under Vatican control until 1860. Today, Rocca Paolina serves as a cultural hub with an exhibition about the city's history.
A most interesting building that is worth a couple of hours. The castle itself contains Etruscan, Roman and Renaissance elements. I missed the slot for the English tour guide. Shame, I think I missed out on a lot of detail. Also, it's a cool place on a sweltering hot day.
C V — Google review
Nothing much happening in there. And its really hard to find the entrance. We ended up walking around outside to the bottom of it, yet there was a nice escalator we missed. Unique and spooky underground mini town, well, smaller than that but it has that feel.
Marcus R — Google review
A big place where you can take a tour inside, for free, a huge historic place from where you can enter the old town of the city to the The Fontana Maggiore and other monuments.

I believe everyone visiting Perugia should stop by and explore Rocca Paolina. There is no entrance fee!
Zana N — Google review
It is a page in the history of Perugia which bears witness to a vanished architectural structure; all that remains are those buildings which were transformed into the basement of the hated Rocca and which today can be visited and explored. The Rocca has a very particular charm, it feels like walking in an ancient medieval street but indoors. Nice sensations.

A beautiful fontain in the Piazza IV Novembre. Perugia is a historic city, well worth a visit. I visited in August & it wasn't crowded at all. Lots to see or just take in the ambience at a nearby cafe.

Dal Mi' Cocco is a popular spot in Perugia, located near the University for Foreigners and the Etruscan Arch. It offers a set menu with multiple courses at an affordable price, including homemade pasta, gnocchi, traditional meat dishes, and salad. The restaurant is favored by local university students and has a casual atmosphere with vaulted ceilings. The fixed-price meals change seasonally and feature starters, pasta, main meat courses, and dessert.
Authentic, local and heaps of delicious pasta, antipasta and secondi. Beautiful meat as well. The waiter was very helpful and made the experience incredibly. The wine was 10/10 and the amount of food for the tasting menu was almost too much for us to eat. Great value.
Bastian M — Google review
Incredible, local eatery with a fixed menu. 18 euros for a starter, 2 pasta dishes, a meat dish and dessert.
Moplop — Google review
Very good experience. Fixed menu, plenty of food per 1 serve. One downside is that every dish is very salty and a bit too greasy. The service was very ok, english speaking waiter. Restaurant is pretty low key, not very big yet spacious enough. I'll totally visit again when I'm back in Perugia ❤️
Rossi R — Google review
Great authentic experience. Amazing food, great friendly staff and classic italian vibe. You start with entree, move to two pasta dishes than you can pick from 3 kinds of soft and delicious meet and finish with a dessert. All of this for 18€! Need to come back! Grazie mille!
Matěj F — Google review
A set menu for everyday. The service was good. The quantity was abundant, and delicious. The price was very reasonable too.
Gayathri A — Google review
For €18 per person, we received a culinary feast! Pizza for starter, two large plates of delicious pasta, roast pork ribs and sausage with a side salad and fresh bread, dessert and a digestivo. Everything was cooked to perfection. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Would absolutely recommend to anyone willing to be surprised by the local cuisine.
Maria H — Google review
disgusting. i was very excited to go to this restaurant as my friends highly recommended it, but i was extremely disappointed with my experience. everything was going well till the third course when we tried the salad and it had the taste of hand sanitizer… but whatever we brushed that off, but then as i was eating a piece of chicken i saw thick black hair baked into the chicken. i was wary of it but we thought maybe it was chicken hair so i brushed it off and just grabbed another piece, inspected it with my flashlight before eating and i found a LONG blond ish hair again baked into the chicken… i was disgusted so we told the waiter and he took it back after giving us a face. we told him we did not wanted to eat anymore but to still bring out dessert as my friends wanted cake before we left. after we finished, we went down to pay and i decided to speak to the manager about my experience and he was EXTREMELY rude and not accommodating at all. he was insistent that the hair was chicken and then when i showed him the video took of us pulling the long hair out of the chicken, he again insisted that it was chicken hair AND THEN told us that it was our hair! i was in shock, never have i been treated this way in any country or restaurant. we were made to pay full price (an absurd €19 for this disgusting food) and when i told him the salad tasted like hand sanitizer he laughed in mine and my friends face. this is not hospitality and i am extremely disappointed and disgusted at the management of that restaurant. do better and be kind! it is not that hard :)

Nestled in the heart of Perugia, Civico 25 is a delightful blend of rustic charm and contemporary flair. This vibrant split-level dining space boasts a cozy atmosphere that invites you to unwind while savoring authentic Umbrian cuisine. The menu, creatively displayed on glass doors, showcases an array of delectable dishes complemented by an extensive wine list.
This restaurant came highly recommended to me by a local friend. It exceeded my expectations. The food, atmosphere, service were all perfect. The gazpacho was better than I have had in Spain! It was matched with wine made especially for them and it was delicious. I was sorry to not be able to fit in dessert because they looked amazing. I’ll definitely be back! I highly recommend this place!

Awesome. Just….awesome. It’s in the centro storico in Perugia, and one of those places that’s actually worth tracking down. The food is simply top-notch , not pricey, but exceptionally good, and made with love , and ingredients that taste the way they’re supposed to. They also have an exceptional wine list, with some great natural wines available too (and, of course, the wines by the glass are yum) Nice environs, which are dimly out in a cosy way, and exceptionally friendly staff. Defo 5 stars….
Mahesh P — Google review
Food was good, typical and varied. In addition to the everyday menu, a few options of the day were available. Service was good but we waited a bit between the different courses, probably because there was a lot of people. Nice outside tables, on the stairs in front of the restaurant. Wine list is varied, you can also order glasses of wine. That's a really nice place for evening diner under the stars and in the middle of Perugia!
Olivier S — Google review
Mediocre food, polite service. - the Baccalá (creamed cod) had almost no flavour - the pasta in the pasta dish was truly undercooked (properly raw in the centre when cut in half) and somewhat crunchy. Definitely not "al dente". - despite claiming the tartare was “beaten with a knife” it would appear only the top saw the knife and it was minced in a machine. Tasteless and not improved by the sauces. I feel sorry for the cow.

A local bar for Perugians who gather for apertivo. If you want a local atmosphere then come here. A little Italian goes a long way in this local gem. Our attempts at communication were greeted with generosity and good humour by the charismatic owner. The bakery prices were very fair, but the savoury food was surprisingly expensive. For example, an avocado toast is €9, and a toast with ham and cheese is €8—more than double the prices compared to local spots. There didn’t seem to be any local customers, which suggests the prices are not affordable for locals. It feels like the place is more focused on catering to tourists, which is a bit strange in such a setting. In the end we tried a pain au chocolat and banana bread. The banana bread, in particular, was excellent. We also ordered a coffee and hot chocolate, which were ok. I also ordered an orange juice that had seeds in it, which was a bit off-putting.

Needs attention to find. Easy to walk past. Cozy warm atmosphere, contained chatter, and very comfortable seats. Online menu and staff give reasonable time to choose. The women who served me spoke English. Cheesecake was devine whilst the BLT bagle was okay. Nice and salty but somehow balanced.

Fantastic cafe. Slightly slow service as we waited 30 mins for our order to arrive. The pancakes were delicious. Burrito was tasty.

This first time I came here I enjoyed the nice atmosphere and unique space of this charming cafe. I was a bit disappointed by the brownie I ordered, but that could just be a matter of preference of taste. The second time I tried the chai tea and it was not so good, I think it was way too sweet and didn’t have any chia spices to it, but they told me they could make it different next time depending on baristas style which I thought was a nice personal touch of the cafe. The outdoor seating was so small but it was nice in the sun. The third time I was here I ordered the breakfast bagel with egg, bacon and cheese and it was incredible, I enjoyed every bite. It was savory, chewy and delicious. I ordered an oat milk matcha latte and it was tasty too, they made the foam so nice and soft. I love that they have live music and special events here. They have a large menu to choose from and the service is always friendly. Definitely a great place to re visit and try new things.

Caffè Fortebraccio is a popular student bar located just across the road from the impressive Etruscan Arch in Perugia. This 24-hour establishment offers a great spot for morning coffee or evening spritz with plenty of outdoor seating that provides a direct view of the arch. The bar has a cool modern retro decor and exudes good vibes, making it a favorite among locals and tourists alike. The staff is known for their great attitude, efficiency, and focus.
As a tourist this was a great find for apéro. Right away it’s obvious this place is a local hangout with a loyal customer base. Immediately I noticed cool decor —modern retro and good vibes. The music is great —the waitress had a thing for Kanye west which I didn’t mind since I’m a Chicago girlie:) Speaking of the staff, they have a great attitude and they’re fast and focused. If you’re looking for good, strong drinks and cheap/affordable apéro, this is the place to be!

I found Venti Vino on the 17th April before going to the airport for a flight. What an absolute delight. The staff there were so friendly and helpful and whilst I was on my own I was made most welcome. The tapas was superb and a drink was especially made for me as I wasn’t drinking before my flight. I’d recommend the raclette cheese and potato dish and bite size tapas pieces. Many thanks.

Balding, tall guy at the door was very aggressive for no reason and repeatedly touching and grabbing women when he wanted them to leave. Ask nicely and explain, you don't go around grabbing, learn some manners. Disgusting. I guess that's his job because no where else would want him...

Bar is pretty good. But the guy (bold one) standing at the door is a real doucehebag. He didn't let us into the bar which I understand because of the covid restrictions. But the way he talks to the costumers and his behaviours is just unacceptable. First of all he is very rude and he is like ready to fight with everyone. If you don't like your job, do something else. We are going to Marla to have fun and there is this guy standing right there with that emotionless face and acting like he protects the italian national bank :) Anyway be careful with that one.

Pizza restaurant
Al Mangiar Bene is a traditional trattoria located in Perugia, Italy. The restaurant offers a variety of classic Italian dishes such as pasta and wood-fired pizza, along with organic beer. It is part of the regional economic development initiative led by Michele Fioroni, showcasing products from Umbria including olive oil, prosciutto, truffles, cheeses, sauces, legumes, cereals, soups and desserts.
I had a great experience with Umbrian cuisine. The umbricelli at umbrian traditional wild boar ragu were delicious, and the charcuterie board was generous and varied. The portions were substantial, after these two dishes, I was completely full. The location has a medieval-style atmosphere, exactly what you’d expect from an Umbrian tavern. The staff was kind and efficient, and the quality-to-price ratio was excellent. Definitely a place worth trying!

The truffle pasta was amazing. Service was quick, friendly, and very pleasant. We didn’t have a reservation but were still seated without any issues. The only thing we didn't like was the chocolate desert which was not as sweet and tasty as it looks.

I don't understand why this restaurant has such a high rating. We had 2 pizzas, both were more like soup than pizza, the ingredients were floating in a liquid. We didn't like the ambiance, no music, just the sound of plates clinking. I definitely wouldn't eat here again.

Food very nice and a good variety of local delicacies. The service was friendly but some staff didn't really "get on the program". All round a nice evening.

Italian restaurant
Ristorante Il Giurista is a charming old-world restaurant located just a short walk from Perugia's main piazza. It offers traditional Italian food with a unique twist and provides a warm welcome and friendly service. The menu features homemade pasta dishes, flavorful rabbit, and heavenly tiramisu. Visitors praise the attentive and quick service as well as the reasonable prices. The restaurant stands out for its outstanding Umbrian cuisine, excellent quality wine, and exceptional staff.
Absolutely fantastic, worth every penny. The place is the quintessential whole in the wall gem that ticks all boxes. We had the gnocchi with truffle, the boar stew, roast potatoes and onions, and finally the beef tartar. The last of which was impeccable, especially with the mustard ice cream (new concept for me). The Umbrian wine was fully bodied, rich and fruity. The gnocchi was light in texture and paired beautifully with the generous amount of fresh truffle. The boar stew was bold and hearty and paired very well with the surprisingly best dish, the roast potatoes! These were, slightly unexpectedly, sliced and roasted with onions in a clay pot. The waiters were great, all knew English but would entertain my rudimentary Italian. My favourite chap even knew Mandarin. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place, on par with Michelin star restaurants.

There is a reason this restaurant is listed on all of the gluten free in perugia blogs! My family and I (a celiac) ate here one evening in Perugia (book ahead if you can, even if you dont think it will be busy) and got lucky to take the last available table on a weekday in mid december. Service was outstanding, everyone was very caring and explained very well which dishes could be done gluten free. I opted for the gnocchi with cheese and truffles, delicious! They even make their own gluten free bread which was fantastic along with the warm chocolate cake for dessert. We were sat in a cosy cave like room filled with wine bottles and really enjoyed our entire meal from arrival to departure! I can't wait for another chance to go back to Perugia purely to eat here!

Top Restaurant, operating in a cellar. First class, delicious food, attentive service, a great wine list, and a relaxed atmosphere. I surprised my wife with a visit to this Michelin restaurant - and she liked it as well. Notably, their truffle-induced offering is a favourite of mine. Happy to come back. Can recommend without any reservations

Augusto R — Google review
The food was good, but I was misinformed regarding allergens. When choosing a dessert, ( semifreddo ) I asked twice about the ingredients and the presence of lactose: not only was I informed that there was no lactose in it (I asked about cream, butter , milk to eliminate the misunderstanding) but I was told that it was a dessert specifically dedicated to people who could not eat dairy products and there is no milk nor cream. Which is a lie. The base is cream. For those with intolerances please beware. Ps. A first-class restaurant also requires a first-class response - and this, too, was lacking on your part. Instead of empathy and professionalism, I received a defensive lecture. Guests come to your restaurant not only for food, but also for trust and experience. If there was a misunderstanding, it could have been resolved with elegance and respect, not by dismissing my concerns as ‘completely untrue’. That is what makes the difference between a good place and an exceptional one.
Anna G — Google review
Absolutely wonderful! The staff are delightful and the food is excellent. The head waiter suggested a perfect red wine pairing for our meals that was NOT the most expensive wine in the list - always a good sign. The Gnocchi With Pecorino Fondue And Freshly Shaved Truffles was probably the best gnocchi dish I have had in my life (and I’m not young!) - it is TO-DIE-FOR!!! And the prices are incredibly good value for what you are served. Would absolutely go again if I was in Perugia

Amazing, tiny place. I cannot recommend this place enough. The sandwiches we top quality. The guy was so nice. Not really a place to sit down and eat but the piazza is a very short walk so that didn’t matter to us. The prices are great. I can’t wait to go back to Perugia mainly for a sandwich!!! This delicatessen in Perugia is a must if you're passing through. It’s the perfect spot to grab a sandwich and enjoy a glass of wine. They offer excellent products with a wide variety of options. The staff is very friendly, and while the shop itself is quite small, being a traditional deli, you can take your sandwich to go and enjoy it outside or while strolling through Perugia. Prices are absolutely fair for the quality of what you get.

Great experience and quality meat and cheese sandwiches. Very local experience. But be careful with their local wine - it's super alcoholic 🙈
Kyrylo M — Google review
I stopped here during my walk in Perugia and it was such a nice surprise. The food felt very authentic, with simple but tasty local products, especially the cured meats and cheeses that were full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, a bit rustic but in a good way, it felt like a place where locals would also come for a casual meal. The staff was kind and patient, they explained to me the differences between some local specialties and helped me choose something I never tried before. Prices were fair compared to the quality, I felt the value was good for what I received. I would definitely return because it felt more like a genuine food shop and restaurant combined, not just a tourist spot.

The sandwiches here are such a treat! Small and concise menu, they have vegetarian/pescatarian options in addition to their delicious meat options. All sandwiches were in between €3-5, super affordable. There is no seating area, so it’s a grab on the go type of spot, but really worth it for a quick meal. We got the Gnorante, Onto, and Guasto. A trip to Perugia is incomplete without experiencing the delightful Casa del Cioccolato Perugina, a must-visit chocolate museum and factory. Nestled in San Sisto, this enchanting destination invites you to explore over a century of chocolate-making history through engaging thematic itineraries. During your visit, you'll not only learn about the art of crafting exquisite chocolates but also indulge in tastings of iconic treats like the famous Baci.
This place was amazing. We learned so much and tasted so much chocolate. The walk through the factory gave a great behind the scenes to this immense factory and its operations. It is more of a self guided tour though as the guide doesn’t answer questions until the end due to the noise in the factory. The museum at the end is only in Italian which was to bad as they had lots of interesting historical photos and objects. The only odd thing of the tour was that the gift shop wasn’t opened and instead we all had to funnel through the “Nestle” store which sole every Nestle product from cat food to health supplements. All in all though this was a great way to spend some time with a couple ten year old kids and even the 15 year old we brought along really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend going here.
Isaac K — Google review
Really good tour. First part is sat down listening to a lady speak (who was excellent) and a video. Then a look at the exhibits in the museum. Best bit was then the factory tour which takes place on a kind of enclosed, raised walkway. Fascinating. My kids loved seeing the robots packing chocolates. Finishes with an opportunity to taste the range. Very well done and a good 2 hour experience.
Paul D — Google review
We went there without any appointment. But lucky us, we still got a chance to join an Italian group to visit the factory. Although we don’t speak any Italian, the guide lady was super friendly and nice! She played an introduction video in English and explained to us in English as well. And the workers at the factory look so happy. Last but not least, the entire factory smells sooooooo yummy 😋 Highly recommend to visit! We had a lot of fun there. Of course, it would be better to check their schedule before going, they have English tour as well.
Hata H — Google review
They came highly recommended, but very disappointing!! Please don’t waste your money here. They are not willing to accommodate or help you. Wanted to book a private tour in English, cost over 600E for a tour and private class. Won’t take a credit card, wanted my bank information….. Booked a tour at Lindt in Switzerland and very helpful and worked with you!!! Someone told me about another chocolate factory in Perugia called Be Well… great people…very nice….
Michelle L — Google review
We called their number and made a reservation for an English tour in advance. The entrance is closed from 1300h to 1400h (and they did not open it early despite seeing lots of us waiting outside in the sun). Adult tickets are €10 each; children accompanied by an adult are €8 (you buy tickets there). The 1400h tour started at 1412h. Our guide was Gloria, she speaks English very well, and was very friendly with the group. She gave a short introduction and then we watched a ten minute video about the history and how their chocolate is made (disappointing that Perugina company was taken over by Nestle). Then we had a five to ten minute period of sampling chocolate (four Baci, one dark OR milk chocolate egg, and one Milky Bar and one After Eight - seven chocolates in total). The group all went to the museum portion together where Gloria explained more of the history, etc... (probably about 15 minutes). Then we went to tour the factory (probably about 15 minutes). It was unfortunate that we didn't see the chocolate being made on the assembly line (nothing was coming out on the machines), but we did see the chocolate being boxed up. We got into their shop area just over an hour after the start of the tour (around 1530h). This is an ok thing if you're looking for something to do in the area, but not worth a special trip only for this IMO. They ramp up production in October for Easter (so you'd see the giant eggs being made with the surprise in the middle). The town has a chocolate festival in October as well. What ruined our experience (otherwise this would have been three stars), was there was a massive group (greater than 20 people, at least 12 of which were children ranging in age from toddler to about 10yo) who came in after the video, and were extremely loud. There was so much yelling, crying, children running around everywhere, it was hard to hear the guide, and if you happened to be more than three to five people behind the guide in the factory you could not hear her at all. Because of advance booking for the tour, this group should have been put by themselves. Our "original group" of about 15 people would've been great. If the factory is going to have groups greater than 15 people they should have head sets for everyone to be able to hear the guide, or simply keep the groups smaller and run more frequent tours.
N M — Google review
An extensive tour of the famous ‘Baci’ chocolate factory and adjoining museum. Event (pre-booked on their website) starts off with a video feature, followed by some tasty chocolate samples, and a guided tour starting with an exhibition on how it all started, with an extensive display of the many products sold and on sale, ending with an overhead walk along the factory and a well-stocked shop with items for sale. All you chocolate lovers this is worth a visit to set you dreaming!

If you visit perugia is a must experience! We had the pleasure of English guide and she explained everything sharing the passion for the company its values! We ate a lot of chocolates and we had the opportunity to buy some chocolate souvenirs on low price. The tickets were 8 euros as it was weekend and some production machines didn't operate. However it was a pleasant visit!

Dishes come out with in minutes. The menu is vast and usually that’s not a great sign but all our main dishes were wonderful! We ordered 3 types of pasta and every dish was wonderful. For desert we had tiramisu’s and a lemon sorbet- both were okay but didn’t blow us away. The cherry on top were the the waiting staff -great attitude and we loved it here. The restaurant has a great ambience and very pretty too.

Was expecting everything to be super expensive given how central you are, sitting outside in the middle of the promenade, but it isn’t. That is the biggest plus. Of all the food we had, the pizza’s were half decent as was the wine. The antipasti were atrocious and it looked like it was all pre sliced. The arancini were cold in the centre. It was great sitting there, soaking up the atmosphere. All very lively. It was a good experience.

2025: I had porcini tagliatelle con fonduta di parmigiano, fusilli lunghi con ricotta e tre pomodorini and umbricelli with fava sauce. I liked them all, but I prefer fusilli lunghi con ricotta e tre pomodorini. 2023: The food was served veeery quickly which is amazing. Everything was warm. I loved norcina, they were amazing, ricotta&tomato pasta were pretty good, but I didn't like the ravioli very much to be honest.

The food was delicious, good prices and located in the city centre. Mustafa was very nice and fast in bringing the order. Loved it!

I ordered the Umbricelli alla Norcina and it was the best tasting pasta dish Ive ever had. Ambiance is great and price is as well. Felt well taken care of. Grazie mille!

The staff was friendly and kind. They also offered warm pizza-bread in addition to the traditional table bread and the pasta with zucchini pesto, was one of the best dishes I ever had. Their burrata dish is also very good and definitely worth it. The inside of the restaurant, which is a bit tucked away in a small alleyway is also authentic and clean. You will have a great time for a good price.

We loved this restaurant during our stay in Perugia! The staff are so courteous, the food was all delicious - we tried the bruschetti, chicken, pork, and their amazing pizza! Very good value for money, nice quiet atmosphere, highly recommended!

The National Gallery of Umbria, located in a Gothic palazzo, is home to an extensive collection of regional art and artifacts spanning from the 13th to the 19th century. The gallery is currently hosting a major exhibition celebrating Pietro Vannucci, also known as Perugino, featuring masterpieces predating 1504.
This is a must see for anyone visiting Perugia who loves art and history. An amazing collection of mainly religious art from the region of Umbria from the 13th century. Superb works of art mainly painted on wood with the most vivid colours. The gallery is well laid out and video images of some of the works add to the experience. There are explanations of each piece of art in English and Italian. Also the gallery appears well suited for people in wheelchairs with suitable lifts and very flat floors.
Tim P — Google review
Honestly I was a bit sceptical when I got in and bought a ticket, at €12. But must say this is much bigger than I thought, well spaced out and lots of religious art, I usually go round galleries quite quickly anyway, but would say I spent 90 minutes maybe a little bit more walking round this gallery. I think there could be a bit more here but it honestly exceeded my expectations.
Sean M — Google review
The gallery is definitely worth a visit when in Perugia! We went for the Modigliani exhibition and spent about an hour exploring. Really enjoyed it. Only thing—they could improve the signs a bit. It was a little confusing getting around and finding the exit.

I spent about 1 hour and a half on a Sunday morning and I did enjoy the visit (entry is free in the first Sunday of the month, except for a 2 eur fee for online reservation). It is a bit small thou for a "national gallery" as its name claim...

Interesting art, lots of places to sit throughout, at the time of visiting no working toilets throughout the building
David — Google review
Truly spectacular gallery with astonishing works of art dating from the 13th to 19th centuries. The only down side is they don't allow you to carry water in. You have to admire the works of art while completely perched. It's hard to understand what's the reason behind this ridiculous policy. People are going to splash their drinking water on the paintings?
Ilan C — Google review
Wonderful experience at the Gallery. Very high quality, well-presented set of (mostly religious, pre-XVIIth century) works. The works are presented in a coherent chronological fashion, and put in their historical and artistic context (who influenced whom etc.) without drowning the visitor. Explanations are available in both Italian and English. Do make sure you make the most of the screens available in many rooms, where you can find out more about specific works in a very didactic, visual fashion, and see details you would probably never had noticed otherwise! Special mention for the recording of the tiny piece of music at the bottom of one of the paintings! What a great idea! Make sure you have at least 90 min to visit the gallery - we stayed about 150 min! Suggestion to the gallery: since most of the saints appear again and again, perhaps a short presentation of the most frequently occurring ones (for instance at the start of the journey through the Gallery), alongside perhaps one of their representations, and possibly a mention of their symbol(s), would help them "come to life" even more. Highly recommended visit!

We were highly recommended by Perugia local and apartment host to visit here and it did not disappoint! The service was wonderful and the food both delicious and beautifully presented. A high standard, would definitely recommend the oysters too! 🦪🍣😍

Being Asian, I usually don't go to touristy Asian restaurants when I travel, rather stick with the local cuisine. But this time I ended up pleasantly surprised by the quality of seafood and the solid technique they employed to cook the Japanese-infused dishes. The raw salmon salad just had enough soy source to bring out the sweetness of the fish, and the steamed seafood was just perfectly cooked with each piece and accompanied veggies at the right texture. That day it seems only outside services is provided, which is in the middle of a busy pedestrian street. Most diners seemed to enjoy this but not this one.

Great sushi right in the center of Perugia . One of the waiters even spoke some English . It's a great place for a drink and some sushi , I loved the sushi but I found it very expensive 16€ for a roll is a bit too much .

Overpriced and tasteless food. Restaurant looks nice, staff is nice but the quality of the food is just not good. Squid had no taste, just watery, tempura shrimps were not crunchy at all and had a really fat layer of dough. Even the oysters tasted like nothing…

Probably one of the worst sushi i’ve ever tried. Rice was not seasoned whatsoever, and the fillings one some sushis were minimal. Even the soy sauce which they make a show out of is nasty. Would not eat the Japanese food here. The Italian food here is however very good.

When exploring the historic city of Perugia, a visit to the Etruscan Well is an absolute must. This remarkable feat of engineering dates back to the three centuries before Christ and plunges an impressive 37 meters underground, showcasing the advanced hydraulic expertise of the Etruscans. The well was crucial for providing potable water during times when access was scarce, highlighting its significance in ancient urban life.
Short visit, but it was very nice well to see and no other visitors at that time. A short video explains the history of the well. Recommended to visit.

Very historical atmosphere and not so expensive to enter. The entrance of museum separates from the well on the ground. There was a board to explain that.

A small attraction which is probably over priced even at €4. Short video explaining the well with a trip down some slippery steps to stand in the well and then come out again. It's nice but if you're on a budget I'd skip it.

Very cool experience in the center of Perugia!! Given its history and location I would highly recommend stopping in to see it. Be very careful walking through it as it is very wet and slippery.

Since Perugia was almost Etruscian capital (one of the most important cities anyway) it is nice to see something remains from period. There is room for 10 people inside so if u go in after a bus tour, come back later😂😂. U get a nice cold place during summer. Before u go in there is a waiting room where u can see a documentary about it. They used 2 8 tons blocks on top of well. Great engineering for 3rd century BC and they used the well for 2000 years. When inside u can still see the water dripping down the walls.

Arnaldo Caprai Società Agricola s.r.l. is a renowned family-owned winery in Strada del Sagrantino, Montefalco. Marco Caprai now manages the estate that his father Arnaldo purchased in 1971. The winery gained recognition for its 1993 Sagrantino, which received top ratings from Italy's influential Gambero Rosso wine magazine, leading to increased investment in Montefalco wines.
We had an incredible experience with Alessandro for our private winetasting and tour. He was so knowledgeable and personable about the winery history and process, that we will be ordering by the case and savoring every sip now that we know the painstaking process. What a great day and experience! Very nice people, excellent view, beautiful winery, and excellent wine! A must-see! Thank you, Alessandro!!

🍷 Arnaldo Caprai – Where Legacy Meets the Future, One Glass at a Time In a region overflowing with wine and pride, Arnaldo Caprai stands apart — not because they shout the loudest, but because every drop whispers excellence. We arrived and were immediately greeted by Lorenzo — not just a guide, but a charismatic storyteller with the wine wisdom of a sommelier and the charm of someone who actually cares. He welcomed us with a refreshing sparkling rosé and cool water — a small gesture, but one that already placed this visit in a different league. From there, we walked among the vines where the mighty Sagrantino grape thrives. Lorenzo didn’t just share facts — he shared reverence. The history, the research, the innovation. You don’t just taste the grape at Caprai. You feel its roots. Inside the facility, the contrast between red and white wine production was explained with precision. Then we descended into the cellar — a cathedral of French oak barrels — where Lorenzo revealed Caprai’s most unique collaboration: a pioneering method co-developed with Michel Rolland, the world-renowned oenologist and maître à penser of global winemaking. Born in Libourne, France, Rolland brings centuries of tradition into every barrel, and that partnership is felt in every drop. Then came the tasting: five glasses pre-set like an invitation to joy — one white, three reds, and a sweet dessert wine. Lorenzo guided us through each one with authority and delight. Not just a tasting, but a narrative. Not just flavours, but philosophy. We left with eight bottles and that rare feeling of having experienced something alive. Caprai may produce over a million bottles a year, but there is nothing industrial about what they do. It’s legacy in motion. Land in dialogue. Sagrantino, evolving. Founded in 1971 by the now 93-year-old patriarch — who still checks in — the estate is now steered by his children, combining tradition with momentum. 68% of the wine remains in Italy. The rest finds its way into 38 countries — and into the hearts of people who still believe wine is a story, not a SKU. Verdict: Arnaldo Caprai is proof that great wine doesn’t just age — it transcends. A brilliant vineyard. A gracious host. And a masterclass in how legacy tastes.

Our favourite restaurant in Perugia. It's set in a quaint area, a short walk from the busy centre. The food and wine is delicious and very reasonably priced -- I recommend the risotto! Great gluten free choices and very friendly staff.

La Fame - Vineria e Cucina is a multifaceted establishment in Perugia, offering a diverse selection of natural wines and delectable dishes made from local, seasonal, and often organic ingredients. The cozy ambiance is enhanced by live music performances on weekends. Guests have praised the friendly owner and attentive staff, as well as the innovative and flavorful food offerings.
Found this place on a walk round Perugia and 1st night had some wine. The owner was so friendly and there was a guitarist singing. Loved the atmosphere so booked a table for the next night to eat. I wasn't sure of the menu but was described each dish we were interested in. We had meatballs (best I've tasted) and deep fried zucchini flowers as a sharing starter, I then had tortellini stuffed with duck and Berry puree and salted caramel sauce followed by chocolate covered hazelnut bomb. The food and the wine was exceptional. This time there was a pianist playing and the atmosphere was so good. Felt like we could sit and chill the whole night. Cannot recommend it enough and if I'm back in perugia I will definitely go there again

Lovely restaurant. I was there on a quiet Monday night, sitting inside (they also have outdoor tables which were busier) by a table of nonnas who were loving the old-school Italian music and occasionally singing along. A dark Sunday night in Perugia. Early September. You’re walking through the medieval alleys, looking for some light. Suddenly you hear celestial sound; notes from heaven. Oh, here it is! La fame. A beating heart of Perugia and an absolute must-visit for jazz enthusiasts. You’re sitting down next to a pianist, you order a drink, and you feel alive. Can be experienced alone, however we recommend sharing this frequency with someone dear to your heart. Be that your mom, your drug dealer or your long lost friend from university that you made out with at graduation and reconnected after 3 years and now you’re exchanging emails and bodily fluids and you decided to come to Italy to experience the last scampoli d’estate. It starts to rain, but you barely notice it, because you forgot that there is a world outside of La Fame. The musicians wish you buonanotte, and they leave. But the magic stays. The owner puts on Fever by Patti Labelle, pours you a glass of bourbon and everything feels like a fever dream. The hungover despair which haunted me for the next day, made me question a lot. No doubts about La Fame tho…

I only stopped here to purchase some bottles of wine. Sadly the welcome was non-existent. I spent about 20 minutes around the shop looking at bottles of wine, without anyone offering to assist. There were two employees in the room, one behind the counter getting the orders and arranging payments and one fetching the bottles purchased by the customers. Luckily, I knew exactly what I wanted, as they showed no interest at all in discussing about their wines. Maybe they did not have the time, or it is not part of their job. Whatever the reason is, this left me with a feeling of a visit to the super market, rather than a winery. The bottles I purchased are on the expensive side and of good quality, but the overall experience was very poor.

The owners, Lillo e Lilla, are truly passionate about wine as well as cheese and charcuterie and they always have some speciality to treat their customers with, some of them are not just speciality, are pretty awesome gems (the menu and the offer are very seasonal, so what you will find is unpredictable!!) This is a place in which you won't came for a quick stop, you want to sit, chat with L&L, unwind and enjoy great food and awesome wines!! Highly recommend!!

Yummy! Great wine, and the plate of free range prosciutto I had was divine. The staff was super nice and it was fun watching Perugia go by from the street side patio. Came back two nights later. Even better

The Oratory of San Bernardino da Siena is a splendid Renaissance monument located in the heart of Perugia. It is one of the most distinguished monuments of its era and the church in Perugia. The facade is decorated with a colourful polychrome scheme by Agostino di Duccio, which makes it an outstanding attraction. The building is tranquil and peaceful, making it an ideal place to worship.

This beautiful oratory is located on the Piazza San Francesco next to the basilica of San Francesco. It is awe inspiring to stand in front of a building completed in 1452, and its relief facade (completed in 1461) is stunning. Unfortunately, the "piazza" is a small patch of dirty brown grass, and the building's beauty is marred by loud, obnoxious kids that hang out there all day and night.

(Translated by Google) Admiring the façade as if it were a musical score, the traveler grasps the essence of the sounds emanating from the stylized bas-reliefs that Agostino di Duccio commissioned to depict Saint Bernardino, a Franciscan preacher much loved by the people of Perugia. The materials used, the figures depicted, and the architectural characterization make the façade of the Oratories of San Bernardino and Sant'Andrea (or Justice) one of the Renaissance works of the highest artistic genius in Perugia. Nothing is placed at random on the façade; everything is connected: architectural balance, symmetry, harmony, and, ultimately, the beauty of the whole, which can also be analyzed in its individual parts, such as the grace of the musician angels accompanying the figure of Saint Bernardino in glory. The interior, created after the façade, is sumptuously decorated with paintings of high artistic value, created by artists now completely unknown, and a visually striking carved wooden ceiling.

Italian restaurant
Trattoria del Borgo Elce is a charming restaurant known for its tasty regional cuisine and good wine selection. The menu is in Italian, but the attentive waitstaff are happy to provide translations and personal recommendations. The restaurant offers a cute backyard garden where guests can enjoy their meals. While some visitors have noted that the service could be more attentive at times, others have praised the amazing care provided by the staff.
This place is almost invisible, tucked away on the second floor of Bar Desio. But it’s definitely worth getting a little lost on Via Fuori le Mura to discover a restaurant that surprises with its quality and creativity. We’ve been here three times now, and it’s never let us down. I enjoy the laid-back vibe without crowds, though honestly, this place deserves more attention. This time, we were a group of four, so we got to try a good variety of dishes: Starters: Fried Zucchini Flowers – Delicious. I think it’s a smart idea to use ricotta instead of mozzarella, which tends to lose its texture when cooked. The soft ricotta contrasted nicely with the crispy flower. Rating: 4 Bruschetta with Guanciale and Beer Reduction – Just perfect. The guanciale was crispy, with the fat melting into the crunchy bruschetta, and the light touch of beer added a unique brightness. Rating: 5 Eggs with Truffle – Normally, I find truffle omelets too dry, but this wasn’t an omelet or scrambled eggs. The eggs were lightly beaten and mixed with just the right amount of truffle, pan-fried to perfection. The key is how the truffle blends with the egg. Rating: 5 First Courses: Baked Gnocchi alla Romana – I’m not usually a big fan of gnocchi, but these were something else. The nearly creamy texture, with a crispy cheese topping, was delightful. Rating: 4 Strangozzi with Guanciale and Pancetta alla Norcina – I’ll never quite understand the combination of guanciale/pancetta with cream, but that’s the Norcina way. The strangozzi were a bit too al dente for my taste. Rating: 3Strangozzi con guanciale e pancetta alla Norcina. I will never understand the mixing of guanciale/pancetta with cream, but this is the recipe alla Norcina. The strangozzi were a bit too much al dente 🙂 Rating Main Courses: Fried Baccalà – Initially, I was going to give this a 4, as it was a perfectly fried Baccalà, juicy inside and crispy outside. I’m still waiting for a chef who can lighten the batter a bit. But the twist with the orange zest pushed it up to a 5. Rating: 5 Fiorentina Steak (800g) – It was cooked medium rare, which for me is overdone, but that was because of how we ordered it. I’m the only one who wanted it properly rare (as the chef and owner suggested, “we eat this raw”). The quality of the meat was top-notch, needing no olive oil or salt that was served alongside. It was a breed from Northern Italy, perfectly aged, tender, and full of flavor. Rating: 5 Desserts: We had a Cheesecake with Salted Caramel and a Chocolate Pudding, both classic restaurant desserts. While they were flawless, they were a bit predictable. That said, they were devoured, so Rating: 4. Another highlight of this trattoria is the excellent selection of Umbrian and Italian wines at very reasonable prices. We brought our own bottle of Sagrantino, so we just needed a white to start with. We chose a Garganega from Veneto for 18€, an excellent wine with a curious mix of vegetal and aromatic notes that paired beautifully with the starters. We left happy with a bill of 175€ for four people! This is definitely the kind of place to visit when you want a break from cooking but still want to eat as well as you would at home, without the pretentious star-restaurant atmosphere (or prices!).

We came in, the owner was setting up. He was by himself and had one reservation on the books or else he was going to close early. He sat us and fed us incredible food, Gnocchi alla Romana, Rabbit, Chicken, Pork. The food just kept coming all delicious and all cooked by him from scratch!

One of the best meals we have had in italy. The cook and his wife were just lovely and the cuisine… mamma mia.. it was like heaven on earth. We will definitely come back to this address! Thanks again for the great dinner!

The food is simply delicious, a must if you are in the area. The only flaw was a bad joke from the owner.
Dan D — Google review
Classic Perugian kitchen with nice outdoor seating set in a garden atmosphere. The food was great but the service was a bit slow, otherwise 2 thumbs up.
Amorena S — Google review
We had an excellent lunch in this simple dining room where the owner/chef prepares a few Umbrian and original dishes using fresh ingredients. Outstanding were the pappa al pomodoro and scrambles eggs with black truffle. We will certainly go back to see what this creative and accomplished chef has come up with next
Gretchen R — Google review
Tasty typical regional cuisine, good vine and cute backyard garden. Menu is only in Italian but one of the waiters was so kind he translated everything for me adding some personal advice. Really nice place to have lunch or dinner, however I would be even more happy of other members of staff were a bit more interested in guests. I believe they did not speak English and were afraid to come and ask if we want a dessert or anything. After 30 minutes after we finished eating finally we got the bill and left. It's a pity, that ruined my experience a bit. Still, a good trattoria with excellent pasta.

(Translated by Google) A wide selection of wines for all tastes at a fair price. As for the food, there isn't much choice, but perhaps that's right for the type of place. In addition to glasses of wine, we ordered a portion of truffled olives. It's a shame that when I went to pay the bill, they counted four covers when they should have charged one. Abysmal expérience at this place. In Foligno for 10 days , only place where I wasn't well treated. It has a prime position in the main square. First time, at breakfast time, went to bar , told I had to wait at the table for service. Waited over 10 minutes , went in to complain, indifferent response. Last day , gave it another chance, waitress told me to sit down , all in English, irritating for me as I speak good enough Italian. Last time, went to the much friendlier cafe across the square.

Beericcio is an outstanding establishment that offers exceptional service and delectable cuisine. The staff at this pub are incredibly accommodating, even on weeknights, and they provide a fantastic dining experience. The focaccia and pinse offered here are of remarkable quality. However, the standout feature of Beericcio is their impressive selection of beer and locally sourced white wine. Additionally, the wide variety of beers available adds to the charm of this venue which is situated in a great location.
Very nice place with a wide selection of beer, really good food and friendly staff!

All washed down with delicious craft beers. Special mention for the woman who served us, knowledgeable and always available to answer any questions. The price is fair for the type of food and location. (Original) Hamburger top a Spello! Locale piccolo ma gestito benissimo da ragazzi giovani. (Translated by Google) I ate at this place for dinner, it's not very big but it's welcoming, it also has outside tables so if the weather permits you can sit outside. There were 2 of us for dinner and we ate a sandwich called "Lu sfonno" of mammoth dimensions, I didn't know how to bite it, it was delicious with about 300g of Chianina beef hamburger, all accompanied by an excellent double malt beer. While my friend ate a sliced Angus steak, which I must say wasn't really that much, accompanied by lots of chips and salad; he, being a teetotaler, drank water. In the end we spent about €23 each, I must say the quality/price ratio is excellent.

Antico Caffè della Piazza is a charming late 19th-century establishment offering high-quality coffee and a variety of specialty drinks, including aromatic espresso and creamy cappuccino. The café also presents an array of freshly baked pastries such as croissants, sfoglie, and delectable tarts.
After looking for many restaurants based on Google reviews we decided to eat here; we were so happy we decided to eat here; despite the language barrier our hostess was Extremely helpful and friendly; food was superb wine delicious and we enjoy watching the Christmas lights out of city hall. Located on Foligno's main square, the Antico Caffe della Piazza has a nice, historical internal decoration, while the outdoor area, though enjoying the view of the square, is poorly set, with table just scattered around. We went for aperitves and while the drinks were ok, the total lack of snack was unexpected. Service was not very friendly as well. Not recommended.

Caffè Magi is an outstanding spot to relax and observe the surroundings. It can get quite bustling on Sunday mornings, especially with individuals stopping by before or after church services. The food is satisfactory, and the prices are reasonable. The staff members are welcoming and exceptionally accommodating. The interior design has a unique and trendy vibe, making it one of Costellos' most renowned bars.
We stopped here for a drink during the town Antique Market Which was May 19. A nice day out to a town we had never visited before. Decided to stop in enjoy an aperitivo. I was pleased with the multi options for both cocktails and beer. They have Guinness and other Beers on tap including an English Ale. The Focaccia sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Staff very professional and pleasant. I was surprised to see a Cosmopolitan on their extensive cocktail menu. As I have never found cranberry juice in our small town in Tuscany. I ordered one and while it was well presented it was a little on the sweet side for me. If you look at the behind the bar bottles you can see they take cocktails seriously. The inside decor is kinda swank with some round booth seating. Highly recommend.

The friendly English-speaking staff adds to the overall great experience, despite some minor issues with decorations and communication.
Great spot for lunch in Perugia. I had questions about Gluten free options and lactose free options and the staff guided me really well, including helping me avoid gluten in one of the chicken options. It would be at risk of cross contamination but they took care. I really enjoyed this spot.

Screaming children and very slow service! Appetizers came out of the kitchen not at the same time. Drinks were not refilled unless you almost begged; salad came without dressing. We had reservation at 8:30 pm and the first course arrived at 10:20 pm....making it the slowest, unprofessional service I have ever received. The ambience was also substandard; young children (2 toddlers and an infant) were kept somehow unsupervised and they were screaming most of our stay. Additionally, a large amount of insects were swarming all night long and no possible solution was offered for the problem (e.g. citronella candle). Definitely a place to go to only if you have no other options.

When you visit Perugia, this is a place you MUST visit. You can enjoy a glass of wine while looking over the town with one of the most beautiful panoramic views I have ever seen. It depends on the point of view…… this is a hell of a nice one!!!! It was a recommendation of my best friend Giacomo, so the expectations were high and as per usual fratmo did not disappoint. Cocktails were excellent, as if they were made on the spot and not frozen. Great job team PDN! They have live music, which always warms my heart (given that they know how to play obviously).
