An absolutely wonderful time at Abflugbar. Lucas was a great bartender and had amazing suggestions for us to try across our trip in Switzerland (all of which were a hit). The underground bar is a pretty neat touch as well. All the drinks I had were superb, I focused mainly on egg white based drinks that Lucas recommended I try. Definitely a must visit if you happen to be in Bern.

They will mix you anything you like and if you're not sure, just describe some general direction and you'll get something you'll like. If I could give zero stars I would. I was at this bar March 30th 2022 in the evening with 3 co-workers . We were greeted at the door by the Bar Tender as soon as we walked in, and he asked us how he could help us (first red flag). We told him we would like a few drinks and he told us to sit at a table. Just as the drinks were brought to our table, a couple of guys sitting at a table next to ours started harassing us. One of them bumped his chair into one of us (second red flag) then they asked us where we were from, we told them the United States They called us liars, they said we were from Canada, and said we must be cops, asked us who we were there to arrest, etc. all the time this was happening, the Bar Tender just watched form behind the bar , nothing else. I went up to pay so we could leave, while the others stayed at the table being harassed, called names and threatened. The Bar Tender ignored me for a good 5 minutes until I called out to him. The whole time this was happening, all of the people at the bar and the other tables, kept their heads down to avoid getting involved. Such a shame and poor reflection of the patrons. I cannot recommend this bar.

Probably the best whisky collection in Bern and also one of the best cocktail bar. The atmosphere is perfect. Most often there is jazz playing and it is a very cool experience.

A large restaurant with an amazing view, we got to sit outside to soak up the evening sun. I ordered a vegetarian flammkuchen but was served a traditional one. It was tasty and crispy. We also ordered a sausage with sauerkraut, bread and mustard. We had to ask for the bread as it did not come out with our meal. Beer was excellent. Overall a lovely setting to enjoy the view.

Lively atmosphere and charming interior. Outdoor seatings were nice as well. Food was good enough, however, when my fries arrived, the server unintentionally dropped the plate causing fries scattered. Without saying a word, he just walked away. Service lacked finesse which was disappointing.

Very nice restaurant with own beer. The Märzen Beer was so nice something else beside the well know wheat beer. You should try it. Even it was quite full the service was nice and they pay a lots of attention. The food selection was for everyone. You will definitely find a good choice.

This was a good brewery to stop at. The beer was very good as was the rösti, which they made gluten free. It was very busy when we went so a reservation is recommended, but you can sit at the bar right away.

This restaurant is located near the bearpark with real bears. And it’s has gorgeous view from its terrace. The service was good. The guy was attentive. The food was tasty and the portion was really big.

We had the signature beef burger, sausage, and pork knuckle. The food tasted very good; however, beef burger was a little overcooked. Overall we had a pleasant time here. BTW, don't forget to try their homemade beers.

We were here with my colleagues. Two days after each other, food was amazing. I have always bad luck getting the salad with not washed lettuce etc, here I had no problem with it. Beer taste is really good also the option to try many versions is lovely.

Beautiful place and historical as well. We really enjoy our food. I have to say the rainbow trout I had was delicious. Our server was amazing and we feel very welcoming even though we didn't have a reservation. Definitely read the first page on the menu. It's worth having a little bit of background in that amazing place.

We had spontaneous dinner, ordered berner minced veal and entrecôte Both were delicious. It was hunting season anyway.. Atmosphere here is amazing, such a historic art place. Servis was good too. Only reason i marked food as a 4 was desert.. was not good, only ice cream was good.

Very cool unique space. Very impressive when you walk into the large dining room. The braised pork shoulder dish was yummy and the wine vegetable soup was savory and delicious. Our service was excellent! Would definitely return.

Wow, this place blew me away! Kornhauskeller is absolutely gorgeous — feels like eating in a Baroque cathedral with huge arches and painted ceilings. The food was delicious, real Swiss comfort food (loved the rösti and veal). After dinner we went upstairs to the bar — super stylish and cozy, with an amazing choice of cocktails, gin, and whisky. The staff were friendly and everything just felt easy and welcoming. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Bern.

Surprisingly refined Italian restaurant in Bern. Original Italian cuisine. All are fresh and tasty. A bit pricey but the dish comes in sizeable portion. Reservation not required, you can just walk in and wait for seated.

A lovely spot tucked away in the heart of Bern’s Altstadt. This is not your typical pizzeria but a traditional Italian restaurant with a well-curated wine list and a focus on authentic dishes. The service was efficient and friendly during my last visit, and the food was excellent. One highlight is their courtyard terrace located on the first floor (second floor by U.S. standards), which offers a peaceful atmosphere. Just note that it can get quite warm in summer, as the enclosed space only opens to the sky. Still, a great choice for a quality Italian meal in Bern.

The service was excellent. I had a tasty al dente risotto with grilled shrimps and a glass of white wine which I really enjoyed: Sauvignon Come il vento. The tiramisu was delicious.

The tomato cappelletti is tasty but the highlight is the tiramisu cake. The portion is gigantic and it is one of the best I have ever had. The service is impeccable as well.

Every time we visit the Casino Bern Restaurant it feels like a little treat. It’s family-friendly, great for groups and even for a relaxed team dinner. We were delighted with absolutely everything! Food, presentation and service were excellent. Small but fine selection of wines by the glass. Highly recommend Coq Au Vin (best of my life!) and beef shoulder mains. Salads are wonderful, diverse, and large enough to share. We were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the pricing was relative to the quality of the dishes. We walked in around 6:00 p.m. and were seeded immediately. Highly recommend!

Grand place reminding of an old establishment hotel in a big city. Came for dome afternoon refreshments—did not like their homemade chocolate, was too thin.

Service was great, very friendly. The food we had were too salty for my friends and my taste. I had to drink lots of water. The cabbage soup was way too sweet for me and wasn't able to have more than 3-4 bites. LOVE the food presentations though.

Today, October 19, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., my family and I were discriminated at this restaurant. We arrived and were told to wait for a table, but the waiter passed by several times but never took us to a seat. Then we decided to sit at a table that had become vacant, and the same waiter grabbed me by the arm without saying a word and pulled me out of his way. We sat down and no one served us or greeted us, even though they spent the entire time in front of our table. We left without ordering. We were very embarrassed by the situation.

Not really special, the food is ok, but nothing more. The service staff are rather curt and sometimes not so attentive despite the rather small size. The price-performance ratio is ok. For me, however, not a restaurant where I go to have a good dinner.

During our visit to Aarburg, we decided to stop by Gasthof Bären for dessert, drawn in by its charming location nestled near the Aare River. The setting is truly picturesque, providing a lovely ambiance that adds to the overall experience.Upon arrival, the staff were very attentive and helpful. Service was fast, and we were quickly able to enjoy our dessert. The quality of the dessert was commendable, perfectly capping off our day with a sweet treat in such a serene location.However, the experience took a downturn when it came time to settle the bill. The payment process turned out to be a bit of a headache, detracting from what had been an otherwise pleasant visit. The issues we encountered with payment were frustrating, and it took longer than expected to complete this simple task.In summary, while the location and initial service were excellent, the difficulties with the payment process left us with mixed feelings. Gasthof Bären has a lot of potential, but improving the efficiency of their payment process would significantly enhance the overall customer experience.

We stopped for lunch on our bicycle tour. Nice setting in the shade of the fortress. We had a place under a tree, beneath a running fountain with nice flowers. Service was quick attentive and friendly. Food was delicious, pricing average.

The burger was disgusting and it wasn't even real meat. The waitress extremely unfriendly and rude only looked at my life ignoring when I was talking (man hating probably) and didn't even thank me when I paid. I was polite and nice but this restaurant was absolutely awful.

Nice and fast Service. Not too many tables inside in the smoke-free part. Good food and portion size, adequate for the price. Location in the old part of the village and right below the castle and church is very nice, especially outside. We would go again.

I ordered their famous spicy chicken and I ordered without any spicy sauce, I thought it was super spicy, but it was my failure because then the chicken was a bit boring, next time I’ll order at least a bit spicy, as they told me it’s totally manageable.

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the Sky Terrace rooftop restaurant in Bern. This rooftop restaurant at the Schweizerhof Hotel offers a truly unique perspective over Bern — with stunning views of the Federal Palace, church towers, rooftops, and even the surrounding mountains on a clear day. It’s a lovely setting for a casual lunch or a relaxed evening drink. The rooftop itself is charming, with plenty of shaded areas to stay cool and enjoy the panorama. However, it’s worth asking for directions when you enter the hotel — the rooftop is accessed via a single, somewhat hidden elevator with no clear signage. That said, this adds a touch of exclusivity and keeps the space pleasantly uncrowded. We were a large group and had the chance to try most items on the menu. Highlights included grilled vegetables, asparagus, potatoes, dumplings with soy sauce, and a selection of grilled meats. The meats were well-prepared, the dumplings were quite nice, while the California rolls were fairly average. The side dishes were good overall. The food quality isn’t exceptional, but it’s definitely decent — and the real star here is the view. The cuisine does its job in complementing the setting. Service was efficient, although not particularly warm or engaging. The atmosphere was pleasant, but perhaps a touch of lively background music could enhance it even more. I can’t comment on pricing, as this was a professional team lunch and I wasn’t the one paying — but for the setting alone, it’s certainly worth a visit.

I was here on Sunday with a friend. The view is nice. The food was very good :) Very good cook. We had the dish from Peru Saltado with beef. If you dont eat much for dinner you can share also the portion. It is enough. Thank you very much to the cook that he has done it without onions :) I dont like normal ice tea because it is too sweet. I had the home made ice tea which I liked also. It was not sweet.

We had a very pleasant experience with music playing in the background and fresh beers. We were introduced to the rotating beers on tap for the season and even got to try a couple of interesting cheeses as a recommendation from one of the service staff. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Bern!

Great beer, great atmosphere, great location. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, only downside is the high prices (up to 12 Swiss francs for one 0.33 cl beer). However, the beer quality makes up for that. If you can afford the beer it's absolutely worth a visit.

A tiny but cozy place that has an always changing selection of beers. In the summer you can seat outside. During the colder months it's better to come a bit earlier, as this place gets packed later in the evening. The price is fairly average for Swiss standards but here you find beers you won't anywhere else.

Nice restaurant 10 mins off the highway. Good menu selection. Ambience is very nice. Chicken and burger were very good. Service can be much better. They offered us food menu right away and took our order hastily. However we had to ask for drinks menu separately and drinks did not come until after dinner. We had a business dinner at Giardino which is located in a hotel. Since we were a big group (20+ people), a set menu was given to choose from. Food 3/5 - Soup was super bland, did not taste like anything - homemade bread & olive oil were the highlight for me - my steak was too bloody for medium well - the "pomegranate panna cotta" tasted like yoghurt with berry jam - still, good portions Interior 5/5 Very beautifully decorated. I had the view to the outside on a small pond. Service 5/5 Attentive, friendly, spoke multiple languages and never let a glass go empty.

We just dined at Giardino and had a delightful experience. The Watermelon Cold Soup was a standout - refreshing, easy to enjoy, and innovative. Perfect for hot summer night. The Beef Tartare was also impressive, with perfect seasoning and a silky smooth texture. While the main courses of fish was okay, it didn't quite live up to the standards set by the soup and tartare. Nonetheless, these two dishes were enough to make for a memorable meal. Overall, I'd recommend Giardino for its creative and well-executed dishes.

Food was avarage, it was. Not impressif at all. Basic, i cook better pasta at home. The meat was good but it said dry age and I don’t believe it was dry age, it tasted like an average entrecôte you buy in Coop. I’m very disappointed for the price we paid, its not because your next to the casino you should do high prices. If you do high prices do amazing food please and here your far from that. Waitress are forgetting some of our orders, On mocktail and bacon in the pasta, and they felt bit lost. We will not come back. The deco looks good thats a positif point

The atmosphere is very nice, food average (we had Flammkuchen from the bar menu), drinks ok. The coctails are not the best. I would still go there for the nice location and ambience, but there is one really big minus about this place. The toilets. Even public toilets at festivals are cleaner and better maintained. They don't fit to the hotel/restaurant/location anywhere.. I think there should be serious efforts to improve this.

We arrived and we didn't know we could only pay per cash and not per twint. Second of all there wasn't an age restriction on the website so we didn't know if we could even get in. And third of all it cost 40.- and we were in there for not even an hour because it wasn't very special and there wasn't even a countdown for new years. Also the music was always the same, so nothing special. We are very upset!

I visited with a group of friends, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We happened to enter from the wrong side by mistake, and instead of being welcomed or politely redirected, we were approached in a negative manner. The explanations we received felt unreasonable and unprofessional, which left us feeling uncomfortable right from the start. A more friendly or understanding approach would have made a huge difference. Sadly, this attitude overshadowed our visit, and I cannot recommend this place based on the way we were treated.

Beautiful park, great for walking or just wandering around in you’re in this area of Bern. It’s quite popular with the locals. It’s clean and well kept. Doesn’t have restroom facilities. Parking nearby can be challenging, better to arrive via public transit. The local Xmas market takes place here during the holiday season.

We waited for 20 mins for the classic breakfast which was two pieces of untoasted bread with jam and butter. The coffee came before though so that's good. We went around 11 am on a sat morning so maybe the place was too busy and we weren't patient enough. I'm just not sure it was worth the money or wait.

We arrived with no reservation for a casual Sunday Lunch. We had to wait a few minutes but very quickly were seated on the terrace. We were welcomed by very professional staff and looked after perfectly. The food was excellent quality and reasonable prices. We would go back any time!

The Piazza Bar in the heart of Bern is a wonderful place to take a break from everyday life. The coffee ☕️ is very good. The croissons 🥐 are very tasty 😋 It’s also worth a visit in the evening. The team is super nice and friendly. Definitely visit 😁

Small bar next to the train station. There are tables to sit outside. Inside, there is a small separe and a spot with a sofa. The bartender was friendly and we had a nice chat.

The (vegan) food was excellent, and the drinks were excellent. The staff was tremendous, and the service was extraordinary!

Food is minimalistic and poorly cooked. At the end of the evening, I was starving. It was really dark and we couldn't see the faces of the other people. There were huge plants which impede access and the music was techno - for a Christmas event by the way. It was a catastrophic Christmas event. I don't recommend this place.

Very bad service. Ordered something and just want to get Wi-Fi, and the waitress refused to provide one and appear arrogantly and unfriendly (the one who wear pink glasses). What kind of restaurant/cafe is this can’t provide their customers Wi-Fi? And there is an actual wifi stated "Turbo Lama Kasse". Just so ridiculous. First time in my life went to a cafe/restaurant ordered something and can't get a Wifi, even been to a much lower-end cafes/ restaurants in Switzerland, everybody could provide one except this place. I will never coming back and have to avoid such place. If paying same amount of money there are much better options elsewhere. Unfriendly service + no wifi available.

Line was not exactly huge but better reserve 10 minutes for payment. Korean ramen (cup noodles) are available at CHF10 each, which was like 10 times more expensive than original price but I guess it is getting more popular to enjoy hot noodle soup on top of a mountain.

Not enough seating for people, especially families with elderly and kids. I wish less space was taken for unnecessary “ice tunnels” and cinemas and snow globes and more for seating with food. Food options are not clear and not good. Louise was really lovely and kind.

Such a good place !! We decided to drop by, no reservation as we just decided we wanted to go there. Staff was amazing, a handsome guy and a joyful lady were serving us. The drinks were really tasty and the place is beautiful! Definitely worth visiting!

During the day: Excellent relaxed atmosphere, tons of space, and good coffee (5 CHF for a Latte). Great place to work and read, with sofas and comfy chairs. The light in the morning/afternoon was beautiful. Family friendly, too (so you may hear children running around, as I did, which is cute).

The Schweizerhof hotel has a lot of charm and provides a very beautiful setting for a romantic weekend. We had booked a special room with roses, which was a very nice and promising touch. However, upon arrival, the bed sheets were visibly wrinkled, which gave an impression of carelessness — somewhat disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. We also dined at the hotel restaurant: the dishes were beautiful in presentation, but unfortunately, the taste did not match the appearance.

Very comfortable room although slightly warm and thermostat didn't seem to function. Great amenities for business travelers. Loved the lighting, audio, and video controls. Bathroom was well equipped with everything you need. Loved listening to tunes in bath. Expectations exceeded.

We had such a lovely time at Hotel Schweizerhof. The room was spacious and clean. We requested a portable AC to supplement the room AC, and they accommodated us right away. This worked really well when it was 90 degrees or so outside. The service was amazing, everyone was so helpful. The front desk lady Lisa helped us with our Aare swimming adventure and with all of our questions. If you're in town, I highly recommend this hotel. The location is very convenient. Borrow a waterproof bag and go for a swim in the river during the summer!

A “grand dame” hotel whose reputation rests on its service, which was second to none. (Shout out to Luca on the front desk who was very friendly and efficient every time I dealt with him.) It’s in a very convenient location right by the station. Rooms are as you would expect from a hotel of this standard - I had a great night’s sleep. I ate dinner in Jack’s Brasserie which has a lovely cozy feel to it - the schnitzel was delicious. And breakfast there the next morning was equally successful - I loved lingering with newspapers, and they very kindly made me rösti with my fried eggs even though rösti wasn’t on the menu. Overall a very successful stay and a hotel that is easy to recommend.

The reality is this is a 4.5 star hotel but I upped my rating to 5. The location is great for travel by train as it’s literally across pedestrian plaza from the main train station in Bern. But to get to most attractions, it’s about a 15 to 20 minute enjoyable walk. The rooms are on the smaller side, but this is Europe, so for North Americans, they might be unaccustomed to the size. The staff were AMAZING! They were attentive and extremely helpful.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Bern, right next to the train station (though you don’t hear any noise, as the station is underground). Service throughout our stay was excellent, and special thanks to our front desk clerk, Lucas B.J., who was exceptionally helpful. The property features a very nice spa, a cigar lounge, a bar, and a brasserie, all of which add to the overall experience. The only downside, something I would recommend checking in advance, is whether a wedding or private event is scheduled during your stay. Weddings are allowed to continue until midnight, and at times it can feel like you're staying above a nightclub, with the bass vibrations clearly noticeable in the rooms. Quite disappointing for a property belonging to the Leading Hotels of the World. That said, the staff across the board were outstanding, which made the overall stay very enjoyable.

It was a great experience with nice views. The hotel is situated in a place near old bern town that gives you access to nice views and places within walking distance. Very comfy hotel – Highly recommended! We stayed for 2 days and enjoyed it so much! The location is the BEST – right in the center of the city, on a beautiful historical street. It was amazing discovering Bern from here. We stayed in room 44, which was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. Special thanks to Eminem she was amazing! Her treatment, attention, and professionalism went above and beyond our expectations. So friendly, always smiling, and always willing to help or support us. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this hotel – 100%!

The Hotel's location is very good. It's right on the verge of the Old Town, which you can sightsee on foot. You can park your car next to hotel to drop off your luggage and then park in the nearby Rathaus city parking few minutes away from the hotel. The hotel is run by a very nice family. The staff was very helpful and kind. We could communicate in English without any problems. They made sure that everything was fine. Breakfast was surprisingly filling and if you still were hungry you could ask for a second helping.

We tried the restaurant. The service is a bit slow. They charge for the plates separately (CHF 1 for each plate). We tried pizza, pasta, and focaccia. The pasta had too much oil. The focaccia and pizza were also okay compared to other places we had in Switzerland.

We stayed at Amaris Hotel for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff were all very kind, friendly, and always ready to help, which made our stay feel very comfortable. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was pleasant. One of the highlights was the breakfast – it was delicious with a good variety to choose from. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Amaris Hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

Really very bad rooms for what they are charging plus no facilities! :( reception people are rude as well as not at all co operative .. we got table fan which are not so efficient in warm day so if you are going in summers you will suffer a lot, there is only one lift in this hotel that too is not working properly, Not at all family friendly and baby friendly ..my 17 months old baby couldn’t sleep properly for 2 nights because it was humid and warm in the room, giving 1 star because can not give 0

The hotel was really nice. Also great to have to option to do everything online. Opening the room by phone worked perfect for me. No app is needed, just an internet connection and an internet browser. Personally I had a room at the side of the Station. Even with all windows and screens closed, I could easily hear all the trains passing every few minutes. This continued until 2 o'clock in the morning and started again around 6 o'clock in the morning. So if someone is staying there, I would suggest to get a room on the other side if the hotel. Other then that, it was a really nice hotel.

We booked a standart room and I cant believe what I see. It must be The Royal room. Probably they upgraded our room. Its bigger than my house with own terrace and stuff wow 😅 Room is clean. Nice place for eat a Flammekueche or tarte flambée. It is composed of bread dough rolled out very thinly in the shape of a rectangle or oval, which is covered with fromage blanc or crème fraîche, thinly sliced onions and lardons for the traditional. The restaurant offers vegetarian version and different flavors. The service is fast and the gods is very good. They produce the own beer and good spot on the street when the weather is good.

Order the tartare! Absolutely top-notch! 200g of hand-cut beef sirloin, with fresh herbs, chopped capers, cooked onions, and garlic. Where else can you get that for this price? They could easily charge 7 more francs... It's totally worth it.

Flammenkuchen with the Italian beef was amazing! Super delicious, I’ve never tested something similar before. It has a creamy, sour and sweet taste, with the smell of fresh black paper. I would definitely recommend it. The staff are super nice, friendly, and helpful with English speaking customers. The portion is medium sized though…

The beer selection is excellent, all craft brews. Stouts, porters, ales, lagers, and sours. The brewer likes to talk and share about his work. He has made a few of the available selections. A good place to go with friends!

not only UNIQUE by name but TRULLY! and I make myself clear... What makes it unique was firstly the personnel (all of the them and specially Stefanie!) eager to help in everything(they even responded immediately for a small problem with coffe machine) , for the parking place , for information needed etc. Secondly the decoration, the atmosphere and the background music (which was very well chosen and could be heard all over the hotel) makes it so relaxing and warm-cosy Another thing is the location which is so quiet, with the garden around and only 15 min walking from city center! In the spacy room there were many facilities ,coffe machine, closet, welcome tray with apples and water! , many towels., VERY comfortable mattress and pillows.. , tasty furniture and table, TV, fridge, nice view with big windows and other... the entrance,the floors and the restaurant area was very well decorated mainly with objects related to jazz history and music.. making the stay very pleasant... the bus stop is opposite the hotel for those interested in. the food at the restaurant was very good Everywhere was extremely clean! Beautifully situated, with a great view, overlooking Bern. A wonderfully themed hotel with lots of classy ambience. Its pretty much out in the green, yet the town is in 20 min walking distance or take a bus that stops right at the hotel in 5 minutes. There's also a mini golf with a cute small coffee shop (check the pastries!) on the premise. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Must visit bar in Bern! We absolutely loved all the cocktails. They really know how to mix interesting cocktails that’s very tasty. The cocktails were well balanced and not too sweet. I would recommend the bar man’s choice. They mix you a cocktail not on the menu based on things you like.

Nice location in the middle of a park with a pond. Very small selection of food. Ok, the tartar could be better. Beer selection not up-to-date anymore, there would be a lot of great beers from Bern (instead of a lager from Sardinia). The service is rather moody and not always correct.

Excellent bar in Bern. I discovered it roaming around the old city at night. In a hustling street with live street music and excellent cocktails, this is the bar to be when you visit Bern. We tried different cocktails and mocktails. The bartender here knows what they are doing! Highly recommended.

Excellent service, the waiter struggled to speak English but he tried his best and was friendly. Came here to celebrate July 4th since it’s an American bar as the coaster indicates. I wanted something light he recommended this beer (in the picture) which ended up being tasty (I’m not a beer drinker but it was a tad bitter/strong). For it to be as crowded as it was, the waiter did a great job to make sure the inside and outside were taken care of. When I was ready for my check he didn’t tell me to wait, he cashed me out immediately. I believe the price on the menu is 8 but he only charged me 6.6 which I think is a good deal, maybe it was happy hr. This is also in a great location a block behind the Main Street (but this is also considered one of the main streets just not the most grand). I look forward to returning, bathrooms were also clean and accessible downstairs. Update: came back for a drink my last night in Bern to try one of the Negroni’s they had. I tried boulevard rendition and it was great! Strong but balanced- this is a speakeasyesque bar.

One of my favorite spots on the Aare. Chilled place right on the Aare, great for a stop if you're swimming. Decent selection of chilled beer bottled and tap (inc. Simmentaler) and the burgers are amazing (hallumi or burger or BOTH with additional goodies inside. Busy on the hot sunny days so expect queues (no table service).

More of an alternative crowd and so is selection of music, old-school hip-hop or granchy old rock. A lot of folks that live around there go there. Closes between midnight and one o'clock

The entrance to the bar is in the tunnel, I got lost at fist finding this place but once I got in, I had a wonderful experience. The owner, Daniel met me when I walked in and was super friendly. I was coming here from Colorado and was looking for some tasty CBD and Cannabar delivered. Daniel gave me a tour of his CBD plant production and showed me how he grew his plants organically with hydroponics. Seeing the love he put into growing his plants reflected with the quality of the buds I bought from him. I got the lemon strain and it tasted just like the bud I used to grow in Colorado. And even though it was CBD it made me feel super relaxed and chill. If you’re looking for a laidback place to get a few drinks and veg out w some top notch CBD, I highly recommend checking this place out. Next time I’m in Bern I’m definitely going to be back.

Definitely worth of visit even if it is a bit further from the city center! It was our last stop on one day visit of the Bern city and I have to say it has improved our trip a lot! Thanks to mellow place and very friendly approach from the coffeeshop owner. He showed us his CBD products and the plants which he grows in the next room. We were allowed to freely enter this garden full of CBD plants. We tried Gold haze pre-rolled joint. This flower won several prices. It was very smooth and tasty so we bought more of it to bring home. Then we tried some good absinths and ginger liquor. Brownie with whipped cream and wallnuts was delicious too. There is one room for smokers with good ventilation and one bigger space for non smokers. Music in the background is good and not too loud - which is important factor for me. Simply great place for chill. I can only recommend! I would visit it again when I’m again in Bern :) Thank you, Daniel!

It was amazing to see the care and attention that goes into cultivating the plants, and it really added to the overall experience. Daniel even walked me through the nursery and provided some informative insights into the growing process. And of course, the products themselves were top-notch. It's no surprise that they've won best product in Switzerland, as the quality was exceptional. Overall, I highly recommend Cannabar to anyone who is looking for a unique and informative experience.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Daniel who works there! 10/10 service when we went there two days ago. The best of all was when me and my parents were walking home from Marzili, we noticed a man running after us. It was Daniel! He said to us that we forgot to take two wine glasses as souvenirs that we originally asked for but we forgot when we first visited. He then walked with us to Cannabar and gave us two glasses free of charge, two lighters and one bud! Thank you Daniel, you're the best!

It looks good, but tastes bad It was a disappointing dinner. The Ramen noodles were very soft and the soup was cold. The skin of the Mochi was very hard, it tasted like plastic... The food was not fresh.

NB: I am rating this place as a cigar lounge that it is. Overall the place is great. The cigar prices are good. Drinks are on the expensive side. You get a nice complimentary snack with all the drinks. You can smoke your own cigars, cigarettes or pipe and there is no cutting fee. It can get quite loud at busy times, but great experience otherwise

The area that needs the most improvement is the bar staff. The service they provide is far below a five star hotel, it does not qualify for even a two star hotel. On top of this, the cocktails were subpar and overpriced for what was offered. A big disappointment!

Somehow I was expecting a second easy going Berner "Turnhalle Garden" but located somewhere inside. But then this 'modern' restaurant without soul which could be in any city and looks like it was copy paste designed by a hip overpaid designer for a big chain, covered with a new brand logo to look young. Too bad, but this fits in with a lot of high commercial train station shopping centres. The food is ok, nothing special but fresh and lovingly prepared and the prices are fair.

First of all the owners already look like they wouldn’t give too much about hygiene & cleanliness. I was there last Friday and ordered the toasts with black bread, avocado & feta. Unfortunately I got sick & spent the whole weekend in my hotel bed. Can‘t recommend the place therefor, unless you‘re craving food poissioning.
