Restaurant
Restaurant Terrasse Schwellenmätteli is a delightful culinary gem perched along the banks of the Aare River in Bern. This charming eatery invites you to indulge in a variety of hot and cold beverages, alongside an enticing selection of fish and Mediterranean dishes. The enchanting atmosphere, reminiscent of a whimsical forest with its wooden decor and hanging vines, sets the stage for memorable dining experiences—whether you're enjoying an intimate dinner or gathering with friends.
Had an amazing in this scenic restaurant on the river! The outside terrace is just beautiful and refreshing to watch river flowing whilst having a nice meal. Food was amazing and i could tell that it was made from fresh ingredients. Thank you for making my day 🩵
Bagel O — Google review
We just for coffees and enjoyed the vibes. Not crowded at all but enough people to feel the good atmosphere. Loud because of the river but it allows for conversation. Recommended!
Gio L — Google review
We went there for lunch on a beautiful sunny day. I had the lunch set. First, there came a vegetable soup, which was like a vegetable soup is. It was followed by a small fresh salad, which contained different kind of salad leaves and a French dressing. Then came the main dish: Suckling pig with a jus, Risotto and cucumber vegetable. This was an explosion of tastes. The suckling pig had a nice crust, which gave the dish its roasted aroma. The meat contained also fat, which contributed to the great taste. And the jus was a masterpiece! As dessert, I had an Affogato - espresso with vanilla ice. The service was friendly and was flexible when I arrived a little late. Then there's the incredible view. We really enjoyed our visit to the Schwellenmätteli Bern.
Dani A — Google review
The location and atmosphere is amazing. The food is hit or miss. Very much overpriced for rather small portions. Moules Frites were great. Cordon bleu was good too. Lamb was very fatty and not up to the expected quality standards for the high price of it (and it is not even swiss lamb). The rice that came with it was bland and boring and way too much of it. I kind of don't know what they tried to do there. A risotto would have been much better. But this was bland rice with some tomato paste. Waiters were all very busy and basically did not pay us any attention unless we waved at them.
Lo — Google review
I visited Restaurant Terrasse Schwellenmätteli for coffee, and the experience was truly memorable, largely due to its stunning location right above the Aare River. The terrace offers breathtaking views of Bern’s Old Town, with the Parliament Building and Minster in sight—perfect for a special evening out. The ambiance is unique, with the modern pavilion design and the sound of rushing water creating a serene yet vibrant atmosphere. It felt like dining on an island! Service was generally attentive and friendly—our server was kind and accommodating with dietary requests. Overall, Schwellenmätteli’s terrace is a must-visit for anyone in Bern looking for great food paired with an unforgettable view. Just book ahead, especially for the terrace, and come ready to soak in the scenery.
Subrata P — Google review
The burger was just not worth the price. CHF 33 for a dry bun, pickled vegetables and a little bit of sauce on the meat. Fries tasted with an old oil. You'd get a better burger and fries in McDonald's even though McDonald's should not be set as a standard here.
Bart T — Google review
The food is simply ordinary. As good (or as bad) as what you get from the frozen section of Aldi. However, the price is as if it were from a real chef. The service is ok, it is hard to feel welcome in this restaurant. Paid €48.70 for the almost empty plate you see in the photo. The atmosphere, if you ignore the service, is nice thanks to the river, that is absolutely beautiful.
Pepe C — Google review
the main attraction is the location over the river! spectacular view around the water easy to access a very specific point from the city there is food and drinks worth visit finishing a tour by the river

Breakfast restaurant
Tibits is a popular vegetarian restaurant chain in Switzerland known for its fabulous buffet featuring a wide variety of freshly-prepared dishes. The restaurant offers excellent choices for breakfast, lunch, and dessert, including Swiss salad with broccoli cubes and sauce, Buffalo Cauliflower Salad, Margherita pizza, Gazpacho soup, pasta, muesli, pancakes, Coconut Fried Rice and cranberry chai iced tea.
Excellent place for relaxing with gorgeous food after a long day hikking from Engelberg. Swim in the lake in the Peace with NATURE melody after all tourists are gone is a bonus😊 Sauna available upon request made our stay even more enjoyable🫠
Kas — Google review
Nice place! I love Tibits at most locations. The sandwich was tasty, drinks were refreshing, and the buffet had great options. A fantastic vegetarian spot with a lovely outdoor terrace!
Anisha J — Google review
One of my favorite restaurants in Berne! Delicious food and the buffet style food makes it very suitable for getting a quick bite. I love the interior and the staff is very friendly. There is always a great variety of food options and everything is vegan.
Julia — Google review
Nice family brunch. For 49 you get whatever you want + 1 cold and 1 hot drink. Not a big choice for picky eater kids, but still managed to find something.
Olha F — Google review
One of the two branches of vegetarian franchise restaurant Tibits in Switzerland's capital city. If you're vegetarian and craving a meal, look no further than here (or its nearby sister restaurant) to satisfy your appetite. But it's also a great spot if you're a meat lover and just up for a centrally located drink or dessert while in the city. Please note that there's no table service and that things can be slightly pricey, including some expectations (for better or worse) to round up your tip when ordering / paying at the counter. Also, be sure to be considerate of others, especially when using your laptop, as the place can get crowded quickly (the staff may also kindly remind you ;-). Otherwise, it's a fancy and conveniently located establishment that offers good-quality dishes and drinks.
Christian T — Google review
The restaurant is great to enjoy a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian buffets. The selection changes every day and you can enjoy a variety of cuisine there. I take a little bit of almost everything and weigh the plate to pay. The prices are in line with the Swiss standard. Also, you get a free bread / buns to the buffet 😃
Debasrita M — Google review
Being a vegetarian since the 70's, this place is a total enjoyment. I love this restaurant since the first time I stepped into it. The price is very good in relation to the quality. My best girlfriend and I come everytime we have the opportunity. We love the buffet modality because we can chose whatever we like in the perfect amount for us. With the pandemic we had to make a pause, it's been a loooooong wait, but now we are coming again keeping all the security messures. The different areas gives you the option of choosing also where to sit, whether it is in the main floor, upstairs, or outside. They keep growing and offering more services all the time. Forty years ago, a place like this was my dream, today is real. I just love 💘 it!!!
Fiore D — Google review
My wife loves the food here. Choose froM a variety of vegetarian dishes: cheese, falafel, potatoes, gebratener Rosenkohl or spinach. Enjoyed the dessert buffet. Location just next to the central station. On two floors. Service above average i.e. super friendly and effective.

Restaurant
Toi et moi is a stylish restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, offering a diverse international menu and breakfast options. It has been voted the most popular brunch spot in Bern, serving daily breakfast and an extensive brunch buffet on Sundays. The menu features a variety of options including pastries, breads, jams, scrambled eggs with brioche toast, and more.
It is amazing what an interesting vibe they managed to pull off. Several styles all in one place, with traditional and chic combining perfectly. I loved it. Add on top a very friendly staff and the great food and you will have an experience to remember
Adina G — Google review
The restaurant got a nice atmosphere and the staffs are friendly and helpful. The soup is very creamy and smooth, the taste is surprisingly good. The pork loin is lean, with aid of mustard butter, and spaghetti, it is delicious. The dessert is good and not overly sweetened, we had a good time, thank you.
Sb W — Google review
Went there for the Sunday brunch, which was excellent. A bit pricey (52chf) but everything is high quality and tasty. Make sure to have a reservation as the place is quite popular.
Julien D — Google review
The staff on the terrace was extremely rude and because we didn't give the tip, the lady didn't even say thank you and good bye. We were asked to leave our luggage by the gate even though the terrace was not busy at all and there was enough space. The coffee we had was good but no alternative milk options which is a shame. It was also very pricey for a place that has such bad service.
Karin L — Google review
I came in and had to wait 3 minutes before one waiter paid attention to me. Told him I was sitting outside and would like to order a drink. He said he would come. After 20’ still no one came!!! Very deceiving! Hospitality at its worst!

A charming restaurant conveniently situated next to Bern's train station. 🇨🇭 🚂 🍽️ Offers tasty food, great coffee and attentive staff. The cozy couch corner is a favorite, so securing a seat there can sometimes be a challenge. ☕️ 🛋️

Nice decoration, great choice of wine from Switzerland, Italy, France… The food was very good, in the seafood dish we had a lot of shrimps and it was delicious. For the entrecôte it was also delicious but I would not say no to more veggies.

Romantic and intimate atmosphere in a garden, friendly service, delicious food. We had a great lunch there! For the dinner reservation might be required as it’s quite popular. Central location next to the train station. Recommended!

Event venue
Casino Bern is housed in a stunning Baroque-style building, featuring an ornate great hall and hosting various events including concerts and corporate gatherings. The restaurant boasts an impressive selection of old world wines, with a focus on Swiss varieties from both newer and established vineyards. The kitchen, led by Adrian Burkis, crafts exquisite dishes using local ingredients inspired by Mediterranean and French cuisine. With over 600 fine wines to choose from, diners are sure to find the perfect pairing for their meal.
I rarely give five stars, but this restaurant has truly earned every single one. From the moment you walk in, the attention to detail is evident – the ambience is elegant yet understated, creating a refined atmosphere that invites you to slow down and savor the experience. The service is polished, attentive, and effortlessly professional – exactly what one hopes for at this level. But the real triumph lies in the food. Each dish was a testament to culinary craftsmanship, with ingredients that were both fresh and thoughtfully sourced, prepared with precision and care. The flavor combinations were simply outstanding – bold in concept, yet perfectly balanced in execution. There was a clear narrative running through the menu, where texture, temperature, and taste came together in sophisticated harmony. What stood out most was the confident restraint: nothing felt overdone, and every element on the plate had purpose. The creativity in pairing flavors and reinterpreting traditional elements into something modern and memorable was remarkable. While the pricing is on the higher end, the experience delivered far more than just a meal – it was a genuine culinary journey. For those who value gastronomy as an art form, this place is a must. I will gladly return, and recommend it to anyone who seeks more than just dinner – but a truly elevated dining experience.
Mätthu S — Google review
Beautiful venue - old, classy building, nice ceilings! Very delicious delicate desserts from the house pastry chef!

Every time we visit the Casino Bern Restaurant it feels like a little treat. It’s family-friendly, great for groups and even for a relaxed team dinner. The staff are always so friendly, caring and patient – we really feel looked after. The cuisine is excellent and allergies are taken into consideration with great care. Many thanks for the consistently attentive and thoughtful service and for always making us feel welcome! We’re already looking forward to the next visit.

Casino Bern has truly felt like my second home — and that feeling is all thanks to Leo! Over the past five years of visiting regularly, Leo has always greeted me with the warmest smile, making every visit special. His professionalism, respectfulness, and mindfulness shine through in every interaction. He is, without a doubt, the most incredible employee I have ever met. I also want to give a special mention to Carmiella — another wonderful member of the team whose kindness and attentive service always brighten the atmosphere. Together, they help create an environment that is welcoming, uplifting, and filled with warmth. The mood among the clients is always relaxed and joyful, and I feel genuinely cared for every time I walk in. The coffee is exceptional, the cakes and food are consistently top-notch — fresh, high-quality, and beautifully presented. Everything is incredibly hygienic and clean, and the soft classical music in the background adds a touch of elegance to every visit. Casino Bern isn’t just a café or restaurant — it’s the best in Bern, and a place I will cherish forever. Thank you, and for Leo and Carmiella, for making it feel like home every single time.
Shaked Z — Google review
We were delighted with absolutely everything! Food, presentation and service were excellent. Small but fine selection of wines by the glass. Highly recommend Coq Au Vin (best of my life!) and beef shoulder mains. Salads are wonderful, diverse, and large enough to share. We were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the pricing was relative to the quality of the dishes. We walked in around 6:00 p.m. and were seeded immediately. Highly recommend!

Grand place reminding of an old establishment hotel in a big city. Came for dome afternoon refreshments—did not like their homemade chocolate, was too thin.
Greipur G — Google review
Service was great, very friendly. The food we had were too salty for my friends and my taste. I had to drink lots of water. The cabbage soup was way too sweet for me and wasn't able to have more than 3-4 bites. LOVE the food presentations though.
Casendra M — Google review
Today, October 19, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., my family and I were discriminated at this restaurant. We arrived and were told to wait for a table, but the waiter passed by several times but never took us to a seat. Then we decided to sit at a table that had become vacant, and the same waiter grabbed me by the arm without saying a word and pulled me out of his way. We sat down and no one served us or greeted us, even though they spent the entire time in front of our table. We left without ordering. We were very embarrassed by the situation.

Brunch restaurant
Becanto Coffee & Brunch, located in the west end of Bern, offers a spacious and inviting interior, a luxury that is hard to come by in the city center. They serve delicious breakfast daily until 4:00 pm and offer a varied brunch on Sundays. The place is known for its trendy menu featuring items like avocado toast. While the quantities may not be large and the terrace might be shaded, visitors still warmly recommend it.
A beautiful cafe ideal for brunch, as well as remote working. There is a good WiFi connection. I had a coffee and avocado on toast, with a poached egg and salmon.
Alex — Google review
Service was great. Food was served after 30minutes from order yet was not warm ( Egg Benedict and avocado toast) The toast was written on the menu toasted but it was NOT toasted at all. Eggs Benedict was overcooked, more like 8 minutes egg. No runny yolk at all and the Schnittlauch as decoration were not fresh. It would be better off not to put it on. Food quality was better before they moved.
Chung D — Google review
A quiet little 💎 gem! Had a lovely brunch here with my bestie and it was such a treat. The Eggs Benedict was amazing — great quality and surprisingly generous portions. Honestly, we could’ve shared it and added waffles to split too… next time for sure! 🍳🧇 Service was quick, efficient, and super polite. Well worth every franc — this just became my new favorite spot! ☕🥂💛
Mykieu V — Google review
Very tasty brunch place in Bern! Used to go to their old location and they have made some changes to their menu, the old brioche bread and avocado was slightly better before but still would recommend for a Sunday brunch, vegan options available too. The staff are really friendly 🫶

the food is very delicious, perfect service (very fast, attentive and super friendly) and a very cute ambiente.

the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely, but the overall experience felt rushed. having to leave after a strict two-hour limit, combined with the high prices, made it feel less like a relaxing brunch and more like a timed event. I'd love to see a more flexible policy for guests.

This delightful café specializes in an impressive array of coffee options, showcasing some of the world's most renowned beans. Whether you prefer a light or dark roast, the knowledgeable baristas are eager to guide you toward your perfect cup.
Great place for a quick breakfast or snack. Friendly English speaking staff, delicious breakfast dishes and awesome coffee. The atmosphere is modern, yet not loud to allow for a peaceful breakfast with other people over a nice chat. If you're in the area and want your morning breakfast or coffee, don't miss out.

Seating options are great and the bar by the window has wireless phone chargers as seen below. Prices are the only reason it gets 4 stars and not 5. But then again it is Switzerland so it’s kind of expected. Capuccino was strong but that was to be expected.
Adam P — Google review
The waitress/barista was rather bored and unfriendly (and was on the telephone). She did the order wrong and derved me later a too hot matcha latte. I expected more quality for 6.50 CHF :'(
Isaac K — Google review
A cozy café that is also great for working at the university or job. The coffee is very good and there is a great selection of açaí bowls and avocado toast. The coffee can also be taken to go. The prices are a little higher, but in the normal range for Switzerland.

In addition to excellent coffee, the bar provides delicious snacks and pastries. Located near an industrial area outside the city center, it's known for its quality cup of coffee.
Yummy cake and good quality matcha. I appreciate that by default no sweeteners were added to my drink. Oat milk was available. The young waitress was very kind and he spoke English to me. I loved that they were open very early, earlier than most places. Friendly place to work from. Nice atmosphere before 9AM. Inspiring for coffee and tea lovers. Highly recommended!

It is unclear for people who don’t speak German that there’ll be waiters serving you at the table when you decide to eat / drink in. So staff was a bit rude when we ordered at the cashier (which is usually the case in most Specialty Coffee places). Besides that, the coffee was quite good and price is fair for Swiss standards (CHF 6 per coffee on avg.). I liked the fact that they serve the coffee with water by default and plant-based drinks are not charged on top. The toilet sink was clogged though (ladies’ room) and it was a bit dirty.
L S — Google review
They roast their own coffee and have many options but I did not try it. We went inside to order but they said we would be served which I thought is nice but when we had to wait I wish they would have taken the ordered already. The brownie was good (dry if you like fudgy) but I did not like the apple tasche as it had amaretto and I don’t like such fake almond flavor. I just wished it said it there and if it had cinnamon instead :)

I came many times here and still think is one of the best coffees I tried :) the waiters are really kind. Peaceful environment
Sandra J — Google review
I visited the establishment to purchase my daily matcha beverage, but after tasting it, I had to discard it. I was pleased that they did not charge extra for oat milk, but the matcha was unfortunately very watery. I noticed that they used a bamboo whisk, which initially gave me confidence in the quality of the matcha, but upon tasting it, I found that it was more like water with a hint of matcha flavor, which was disappointing. Would not recommend

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant Steinhalle, led by top chef Markus Arnold, is located near the Museum of History in Bern. With 17 Gault-Millau points and a Michelin star, Arnold is a rising star in the Bernese culinary scene. The restaurant offers a lunch menu featuring ramen soups, bowls, and burgers, while in the evening it provides seasonal casual dining menus. The atmosphere is described as familiar and the food as creatively prepared with maximum creativity.
Fine-diner by night, casual al fresco café by day – this restaurant in the grounds of Bern’s History Museum has something for everyone. So far I’ve only visited for a drink in the café – but the setting, quality and service inspires me to come back for more next time. Chef Markus Arnold is regarded as one of Switzerland’s most innovative chefs and his dinner menu warrants a Michelin star (with prices to match). But during the day you can rock up, grab a seat in the garden and enjoy refreshments like house-made iced matcha tea, ramen, rice bowls and salads all made with the same quality produce and attention to detail at a fraction of the price.

We visited the history museum in Bern and started to get hungry so we popped next door for lunch. This restaurant is quite nice and the service is great. They are helpful and attentive. The lunch menu has classic favourites of modern society. I ordered the burger with a salad and my husband got the ramen. The salad was wow! I haven’t had a salad that good in a long time! I thoroughly enjoyed it. When the burger came I was also pleasantly surprised. Meat was cooked perfectly to medium as asked. The burger was juicy and easy to cut in half. A little squeeze bottle of sauce was also provided so you could add more sauce to the burger. I am unable to comment on the ramen as I did not eat it. The only thing that would be helpful is to have a little allergen icon. My husband has a peanut allergy and when the salad came it seemed to have peanuts on it, he didn’t have any but I also try to avoid peanuts to be extra cautious. At lunch time, it seems like you can walk in without a reservation. However, I am unsure about dinner as I understand it becomes a fine dining restaurant. I would make a reservation if going to dinner just to be safe. A great spot and highly recommend!

We visited the museum in Bern and saw this restaurant on our way out. We sat in the nice seating area outside with a view of the grassy area - it was great weather so it was overall a great vibe. We ordered the ramen and the salad. The salad was really good and it came with sourdough as well. The ramen was very salty but otherwise good ramen texture - however beware as they ask if you want kimchi as well which we found out afterwards it was an extra 5CHF (it’s actually stated on the menu but there wasn’t an english version provided so we were confused haha)

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Steinhalle in the beautiful historic museum of Bern. We had the full gastronomic dinner and I could only stay until main course due to early train back home. That being said, most items were really delicious and above what gastronomic experience you would expect wandering on this side of the Sarine river. 😆

We visited from the USA and enjoyed the veggie-forward menu currently in rotation. The food was quite tasty and the sauces with the dishes were the stars of the show. The sauces were so tasty I’ve questioned whether or not I deserved something so delicious. The presentation of the dishes was lovely and a lot of care went into them. I think the serving sizes were maybe 20% too small. The small size, even for an upscale restaurant, paired with the somewhat unengaging atmosphere made me rate this 4 stars instead of 5. For context, one course was 3 partial asparagus. Definitely worth a visit and piqued my interested in trying other up scale restaurants in the city
Branden B — Google review
High end restaurant with excellent periodically changing multi-course menu, that will be adjusted to your specific dietary needs. Very attentive and friendly service. Great seating under shady trees, with restaurant integrated into beautiful historic building. Pricey as you would expect from this type of restaurant. We found the service to be a bit pushy for additional menu options as well as drinks, you just have to say no multiple times.
Beat S — Google review
One sentence review: Tasty, but (supposedly) elitist. Longer review of the prepaid Japanese tasting menu. We were greeted by a polite server and shown to a table outside where we had an appetiser and a drink (paid for separately). We weren't offered a napkin even though all appetisers were creamy or had liquids in them. Afterwards we proceeded inside for the main meal. The space inside is pretty tight, the decor minimal and the lighting is pretty dim, but it still doesn't feel particularly cosy (or chic). Now the food. The great thing about it is that there aren't any *dishes* on the menu. According to the chef (who greeted everyone in person) all the items are inspired by traditional Japanese tastes and ingredients and are invented by the chef himself, so you can't just find them in a Japanese cook book. Now the size of each portion is really really small. Half the elements of every dish are a (tea-) spoonful big. If you came to the restaurant... hungry, you'll likely only be less hungry after a five-course meal. Another deal-breaker for me is the price. This place is titanically overpriced. The amount we paid (meal = 159, sparkling wine = 21, red wine = 29) could buy you two (or almost two) similar dinners anywhere in the city. Yes, the restaurant was full, and there are enough people who don't care about prices in Bern, but a family with regular jobs would struggle to afford dining in a place like this and therefore they'd miss out on trying out a new experimental cuisine. Mind you that we spent three hours in Steinhalle and we only saw one person of colour in the whole establishment, and that was one of the waiters. That to me is a good indicator of how elitist a place might be. The service. There's no one designated waiter that'll serve you your food throughout the evening and that's probably a good thing -- less waiting. Every waiter knows how to present each dish, but the way they say it sounds like a recital. They just say their text and leave promptly. Every time they clear the table the servers ask how you've liked the previous dish, but it does come off slightly superficial, like they're programmed to ask certain things at certain times. That is the least of my concerns though, I'd much rather know why you didn't foresee a hot towel at a Japanese style dinner or quiet Japanese music in the background or, quite frankly, better value for money. Yeah, it's a business and it's legal, but how cool is it?
Marcel M — Google review
In addition to being a well-known and expensive place to have a multiple-course dinner, the Steinhalle is a low-key, lovely, and delicious spot for an inexpensive lunch. Sitting outside under the enormous trees in the park in front of Bern's History Museum, I had an excellent bowl of vegetarian ramen soup. I recommend the food, the service, and the atmosphere. The menu has only a few choices, but all are vegetarian or meat.

The service is welcoming and efficient, the place is clean and comfortable. A great venue for a big family brunch with a vast variety of options. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

The store also features ChasChauer, where visitors can enjoy an extensive Saturday brunch or tasty appetizers in a unique setting. Customers praise the knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff and the reasonable prices for quality cheese.
Stumbled upon this nice place where they have a wide variety of Swiss Cheeses. Jolanta Reber, our server, has so much passion in the cheese they have. She gave great recommendations and prepared a delectable plate of cheese for us. Their cheese cake is also Dabombs! This is definitely a must try for cheese lovers and if you are in Bern.

Probably the best cheese shop in terms of the incredible wide cheese selection they have. But when it comes to fondue , it’s terrible ! It’s like buying finished fondue from migros in a packet ! Extremely disappointing for such an important cheese shop in the old city of bern. @chäsbueb , you only have to try the fondue in Heugel to know what I mean

Las Alps, nestled within the Alpine Museum of Switzerland, is a delightful culinary gem that brings the essence of the mountains right into the heart of the city. From October to April, this charming restaurant hosts a traditional Swiss brunch on the first two Sundays each month. Diners can indulge in an array of fresh dishes that include classic Rösti with bacon and fried eggs, all crafted from responsible ingredients.
I was there on a sunny day ... lovely place and out of the ordinary dishes. Not extremely experimental, just that bit out of the box that makes you think: I should have come up with this idea. Responsible ingredients and no-nonsense, not posh , subtle ingenuity. Very reasonably priced.

Great friendly service, nice ambiance and good food - wouldn’t say that the food was exceptional but proper food, to me it was a bit too much oily. Tap water is served cold and free which I appreciated a lot on a hot summer day.

Restaurant
The BEEF Steakhouse & Bar is a trendy steakhouse and bistro located in the old town of Bern, Switzerland. They age their own beef on-site and also offer a Saturday breakfast featuring American favorites like pancakes and French toast. The restaurant offers a cozy ambiance with friendly service and a diverse selection of beef from around the world, including bison.
The best ever meat I've ever had. Absolutely fantastic. The wine was excellent. The service was top as well. And the place is really a experience. My personal recommendation: the ribs. Just look at the photo. We'll be back.
Enrique G — Google review
Disappointing and overpriced—avoid this place. I rarely leave negative reviews and this is actually my first one star, but this restaurant earned it. The cheapest steak on the menu was €40—and it wasn't even good. Thin, overcooked, and nowhere near medium rare like we asked. Even the water cost €8. That’s right, water. We waited over 15 minutes for just one steak because we couldn’t afford two (that should tell you enough about the prices). For what they charge, you'd expect quality food and decent service. Instead, we got mediocrity and a bill that felt like robbery. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else. Even a 10€ meal in McDonald's is better for the insane price that they charge
Lenard P — Google review
Great place to enjoy a good meat dish. The staff is very knowledgeable and the place has a good atmosphere. Depending on your preferences, if you're craving meat, this is a good place. I gave the food 4 stars because I found the amount of butter on the meat a bit excessive and I didn't quite understand how the sauce could go well with the already excellent sides and meat served! A praise also to the drinks and wines👌🏻👍🏻. The price is fair and the service was great.
Alessandro B — Google review
This was perhaps the most disappointing dining experience I’ve had in a while. We went for dinner on a Friday night and after sitting at our table were told they were completely out of Swiss beef. Instead, I got the Irish filet which was just OK. The risotto was wet instead of creamy and the fries were the worst I had on our trip to Europe. EDIT: While I appreciate the restaurant’s response, the claim that the Swiss beef sold out quickly that night is not true. They simply didn’t have any because of either poor planning or some issue with their provider.
Lucas W — Google review
If you're looking for a steak in Bern, this is the place! It is a Canadian restaurant in old town Bern Switzerland and the food is legit. I had a draft beer and a beef short rib with green peppercorn sauce and grilled asparagus. My colleague had the rib-eye steak with sautéed mushrooms with steak butter. They have a humidor to buy cigars from, seating upstairs and bar seating in the back. This place is excellent but they do close the kitchen at 2pm to switch over to dinner. Stop by when you visit Bern.

If you are a meat lover and visiting the very beautiful capital of Switzerland, Been. you definitely have to stop by in this nice Restaurant. the meets is very tastefully and you definitely have to take a look into the wine menu. They will serve the meat with different kinds of sauces and you will enjoy the taste of different cuts. Reservation with a large group of people is definitely recommended if you stop by with a party of two, maybe there is a table available. there is also a very nice bar at the ground floor where you cannot eat but still be able to have a nice drink.

One would be making a huge mistake not dropping by this incredible bakery. It's worth dropping by even if you are in town. I understood that it was highly rated and it did not disappoint. I recommend trying their apple strudel. The sweetness of the apple goes so well with the flaky outside crust. Their breads are fantastic, basically I could go on and on. I did not stay here but my friend and I are staying in Iseltwald down the road and decided to try the restaurant here for our first night. It is in a great location and we wanted views of the lake, so after a long travel day we were just happy to be here and excited to try a new place. We walked in and sat and then our waiter came over already with an attitude (mind you we had just been in france for a week so we are used to the attitude, but this was obviously directed toward us). My friend ordered a tap water which she had to pay for, and I asked if they had white wine, as the menu was in a different language and I couldn’t read it. He nearly rolls his eyes and responds “yes? we have white wine??” in that tone. I was waiting for him to tell me options of wine but after a long pause he just turns around to put in our order. Try to brush it off but then I get my wine and it is the tiniest glass i’ve ever received at a restaurant (i know this sounds dramatic but i swear). So anyways we order our dinner (splitting a steak because of the prices) and he tells us that it is an extra charge to split food and we have to pay for the extra plate and napkin?? As we are waiting for our food another couple receives their glasses of wine and i wish i had taken a picture because they were double, if not triple the size of mine (i was not given an option for sizes if that was the case) and they also received bread before their meal and condiments with their meal, neither of which we received. It just became clear they were getting better service, and I should also add that we were the only two groups in the entire restaurant the whole time, being served by the same waiter. The only good thing i have to say is that the steak was good. However the prices are crazy and the service was truly disappointing as a visitor and having done nothing to provoke it.

We came to Strandhotel for dinner for our first night in Iseltwald. What was supposed to be an exciting evening turned disappointing very quickly. We were the only people in the restaurant so the server came over right away. My friend asked if they served white wine since unfortunately we cannot read the menu and our server was rude when telling her they did have white wine. I ordered water which he informed me that charge for tap water (?) never heard of that before but I didn’t want to not have a drink for my whole meal. When he came back he gave my friend the SMALLEST glass of wine I’d ever seen in my life. We ended up deciding on getting the sirloin for to share but then we were informed that we would be charged extra for a plate, fork, and napkin because we were splitting. I’m from the US so I know all about up charging but this was truly ridiculous, especially at the price the meal was already. It was more disappointing to see that the one other table in the entire restaurant was getting prime treatment with lots of check ins, condiments & bread brought to their table. Not to mention actually HUGE glasses of wine. I’m not picky by any means, I’m staying in a hostel but we were really disappointed by the price & service. On a more positive note, the steak was very very good!
Kara K — Google review
We were trying to get a dessert at the restaurant, none of the waiters lead us to a table so we sat down on our own. We waited a while and they didn’t even acknowledge us nor gave us the menu. The female waiter rudely told me to wait despite me asking politely, the male waiter kept speaking to me in german. we got a table that was directly hit by the sun so when another guest left we moved to their table and the male waiter straight up told me “I’m not taking orders from you.” The whole town is pretty much rude to any non-white tourists
Zefanya S — Google review
Our room, on the third floor, of the Strandhotel in Iseltwald is just delightful. Clean, bright, spacious and comfortable. The small private balcony with a view of Brienzersee is a real plus. With an exceptional restaurant downstairs you could stay inside, but the lure of the outdoors is strong here.
Morgan M — Google review
Rudest experience in whole of Europe. The waiter firstly did not seat us so we had to find a place ourselves. Since ours was a large party we had to add chairs to the table which was not possible at that table so we then had to change the table and shift to one which someone had vacated and was yet to be cleared. When we raised our hand to get the waiter's attention since he had not come to our table even once he suddenly got really offended and said "do you think I don't understand English?" with a scary look in his eyes. He then loudly lectured us about how we left a perfectly clean table and shifted to a dirty one ourselves, were pointing at the menu like we thought he didn't understand English and that we raised our hand to call him when it was obvious that he will be coming to our table. He "warned" us not to wave at him and when I say warn, I mean I was confident he will humiliate us the second we did something he didn't approve of He was so loud that the other tables stared at us which was honestly very embarassing. The restaurant at that point was not crowded at all so it was not like he was overworked or overwhelmed. There were totally 4 other tables being waited on by him and his colleagues. Looking at the other reviews, it is clear that this place is racist. I'd highly recommend that people from Asian countries not visit this place.

An absolute gem of a breakfast spot! They also take reservations on Google so make sure to do that. The service was phenomenal and also English-friendly. We got the all-you-can-eat option ($37 per person). The appetizers are actually so cute and perfect. The entrees (egg dishes) were super tasty and the dessert pancakes was delicious and fresh. Caffè Bar Sattler, located in the heart of Bern, is a charming and cozy café with a hip retro charm. Established in an old saddlery by a group of friends, it has become a popular meeting spot and the heart of the lively Mittelstrasse in Langgasse-Quartier. The café offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy traditional continental breakfast and homemade ice cream.
I’ve definitely found my go-to spot for coffee because it was the best espresso I’ve ever had. Every time I come back for another cup, I feel a pure sense of excitement just to sit and enjoy spending time there. As someone who loves quiet spaces, being surrounded by full tables initially felt a bit overwhelming. But once I sat down, I felt this warmth from the other customers—people who clearly felt safe enough here to just be themselves, whether talking, laughing, or reading. The atmosphere of the place is so welcoming that I found myself feeling completely comfortable, soaking in the positive vibes all around me. Thank you guys, and see you soon ❤️

Coffee Fellows - Kaffee, Bagels, Frühstück offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere where you can indulge in specialty coffees, bagels, cakes, and snacks. The coffee chain is known for its veggie-friendly options and commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. With a friendly staff and fast service, it's a great spot to enjoy delicious vegan food and an assortment of cakes. While the chai latte could be thicker, the cappuccino is highly recommended.
As a frequent traveller the one thing I miss the most while being abroad is good coffee & brunch. FINALLY, I found my spot in Bern! The staff is friendly and helpful which goes a long way too. Totally recommend!

👎 We ordered two latte machiato, one with oat milk, and can say both weren't our favourite. (We didn't ask for a replacement because we didn't like either of them) 👎 The place is a bit too small for my convenience and narrow. 👍🏼 the marble chocolate cake was great, a must have! 👍🏼 Location is great, easy to be found 👍🏼 Service was nice, the lady who handle us was sweet

It had been raining in Bern since morning, so I was craving something hot. A quick Google search led me to Coffee Fellows, which had good reviews. My colleagues and I decided to check it out. The cafe is located on a lane opposite the Parliament House and has a beautiful interior with a cozy vibe and plenty of seating. Here’s what we ordered and our ratings: • Hot Chocolate – 5/5 • Latte Macchiato – 3.5/5 The service was quick, and the prices were reasonable. Overall, a great experience!

We decided to try the avocado bagel sandwich, toasted. The combination of creamy avocado, perfectly toasted bagel, fresh cucumber and hummus made it a delightful choice. The croissant had a flaky exterior and a soft, buttery interior—a true treat. As for the coffee, the espresso was rich and robust, while the cold brew leaned slightly on the sweet side but remained refreshing. The cozy coffee shop offered ample space, both indoors and outdoors, making it an ideal spot for hanging out. Overall, a great experience with a friendly staff.

Nice café for breakfast. Fresh bagel and good coffee. It's expensive but this is switzerland. The service us slow since it's only one person running the place.

Staff are a mixed bag of experience baristas and confused texters. The coffee is consistently fantastic. But sometimes service doesn’t match demand…

Nestled in the heart of Bern, Brasserie Lorraine is a charming rustic eatery that has been delighting locals and visitors alike for over 30 years. Operated by a dedicated collective on a non-profit basis, this co-operative restaurant offers an impressive array of hearty local dishes, including meat, vegetarian options, and at least one vegan choice daily. The emphasis here is on sustainability; they prioritize organic ingredients sourced from local producers whenever possible.
Definitely my favorite place in Bern. It's my Go-to place for good food - be it lunch, dinner or afternoon fries. The atmosphere is perfect for having drinks and playing board games with friends, but also for reading quality newspapers while enjoying a coffee. Their homemade ice tea is legendary, as well as their vegan Seitan Kebab. They host concerts, game nights, workshops and in general it's a great place to just be and connect with people. They do all of this without profit as the main focus, that's what distinguishes the Brasserie from most other Cafés and Restaurants in town. Spaces like the Brasserie Lorraine make a city vibrant and alive. That's why I rate 5/5 and support this place unconditionally. Many thanks to all at the Brass.

This was one of the nicest dinners I had for a while, glad I was not put off by some bad reviews here. I sat in the garden area that was very nice on a warm summer night. The vibe was welcoming and laid back, as was the waiter, Food very good, quite surprised given that it's a collective. Prices also very reasonable.

We had a lovely time, good vibes and decent prices for lovely food. The menu changes, so I'm sure the experience varies, but there were plenty of pasta options that would suit most diners - and it was good quality!

Nestled near the Paul Klee museum, Restaurant Schöngrün offers a unique dining experience with its modern orangery and old-style decorated sections. The menu features limited but quality vegetarian options at decent prices. The restaurant's wonderful garden in the backyard is perfect for long summer evenings, while the front yard provides easy access to the art museum. Although slightly off the beaten path, this excellent restaurant is worth a visit for its delicious food and top-notch service.
Great upscale restaurant in an airy greenhouse. Our 4 course dinner was excellent, with creative touches. The service was very friendly, but did not seem a bit unsure. Very accommodating of the vegan guest in our party, creating a special menu on the fly. Reasonable prices for the quality you get.
Beat S — Google review
We came here for a late lunch this Sunday after having visited the Paul Klee museum just behind the restaurant building. There are two sections, the modern orangery and the old style decorated part with intimate little rooms where we were directed. The menu is restricted with good vegetarian options. The food is good, cooked to the minute and decently priced. Like in many restaurants in the German speaking parts of Switzerland you have to pay for tap water, even when ordering wine which we consider an abuse. The choice of open wines is restricted but well selected. Recommended.

Despite a parking lot in front of the terrace affecting the ambiance for some, others find it to be a very local and good restaurant where food is cooked with love.

(Translated by Google) I have been visiting the restaurant for several years and every time I am amazed by the food. Peter's in Sörenberg not only serves excellent food, but also offers a warm and personal atmosphere. The extremely personable chef is characterized by his attentive nature and likes to take the time to ensure that every guest is satisfied. His personal welcome and his interest in the well-being of the guests give the restaurant a special touch. The pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant invites you to indulge in culinary delights. Every dish, be it the Lucerne Chügelipastetli or the classic Cordonbleu, is prepared with care and attention to detail. The desserts are real culinary delights and provide a successful rounding off of the meal. The apple strudel with warm vanilla sauce seduces with its perfectly balanced taste, while the chocolate cake with its liquid center is a true taste experience. But for me the real highlight of the restaurant is undoubtedly the garlic soup in the homemade bread cup. This unique creation is an absolute must for foodies.

Whether you're looking for a relaxing cup of coffee and granola in the cozy backyard or a satisfying lunch featuring delicious momo and garden-fresh salad, this place has it all. The excellent coffee, pleasant ambiance, and top-notch service make it an ideal choice for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.
If you’re looking for an alternative, sustainable, welcoming, veg’friendly and charming work/coffee/chocolate-shop in Bärn, the Werstadt Lorraine is THE place to visit. This charming cafe located in an old workshop offers a wide variety of local, seasonal, organic and veg’friendly snacks and drinks (even Vegan brunches 🙌). And if you’re a fair-trade chocolate junkie like me, you’re gonna love their fine selection of “Bean-to-Bar” swiss chocolate.

Very friendly neighbourhood coffee place with disappointing drinks. Casual, industrial look vibe, with outdoor seating in front, and back courtyard. Unfortunately on out last visit the drinks were very disappointing: the coffee was so sour as to be undrinkable, and the Chai latte was so watery it had virtually no flavor. Won't be coming by again soon.

My favorite café/bar in Bern: great atmosphere, super friendly staff (you can tell that they enjoy working there and in that team), tasty, locally produced food with some vegan options, great drink choices with and without alcohol.
Eli F — Google review
It was my first time visiting the cafe, and it honestly left a bad impression. The food was okay and the look of the cafe was nice but the service was atrocious. You can only order at the bar. At the time we went, it was very busy, so that meant waiting for quite a long time, but that wasn't so bad yet and I generally didn't have a problem with that. When it was finally my turn to order, though, I was first ignored and left stading there for quite some time until someone asked what I wanted. After I ordered I wanted to pay and I was told I should pay later. Big mistake - ask them to pay immediately if you visit this place! I say that because, after we were done, I asked to pay and was told I needed to pay at the bar, meaning I again had to wait in the huge line. That was quite a negative surprise. Very unorganised. I strongly suggest that they figure out another system to attend to people or at least don't tell people to pay later so we don't need to wait twice !

The Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa is a luxurious and elegant hotel located in Interlaken, Switzerland. The hotel has been beautifully restored to blend historic charm with modern amenities. The hotel features two refined restaurants, a bar, an indoor pool, and an outdoor saltwater pool with stunning views.
What an INCREDIBLE experience at Victoria-Jungfrau. Everything was absolutely amazing from the Concierge/staff, room, breakfast buffet, spa, restaurants and cocktails. The hotel was centrally located and had a stunning view. We spent two different days in the spa getting treatments and then just relaxing in the incredible outdoor hot tub, swimming in the indoor pool and enjoying the sauna. I have never experienced such an exceptional concierge staff in my life. They were so attentive to every single detail and never missed one need we had, big or small. We loved sitting in the tables by the bar with the sliding glass doors open looking out into the mountain. This hotel is a 10/100000!

I have mixed feelings about my stay. While the location is fantastic and it’s likely the only five-star hotel of its size, the housekeeping could improve. The rooms aren’t thoroughly cleaned or tidied unless you specifically request it, and the floors often seem overlooked. However, the service is exceptional, and the staff are highly attentive.

A beautiful and high-quality building with very comfortable beds. However, the bathrooms are on the smaller side with an uncomfortable layout, even in the Tower Suite. The suite itself has a lovely terrace and spacious living room, while the Superior Rooms are decent but feel a bit overpriced for their size. The concierge team is extremely friendly, and the spa is excellent, special mention to Rike for an amazing massage. The gym is large and well equipped. The restaurant serves delicious food with an impressive wine selection, though the coffee could be better prepared.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel in Interlaken, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The hotel itself carries a rich sense of history, with its origins dating back to the 19th century, and you can feel that timeless elegance the moment you step inside. The architecture is grand yet warm, with beautiful detailing that perfectly complements the surrounding alpine charm. The location is simply unmatched—set right in the heart of Interlaken, it allows you to stroll through the city with ease, all while enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the Jungfrau mountains. Waking up to those views is something I’ll never forget. Service at the hotel was excellent in every sense. The staff were professional, attentive, and went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable and memorable. From the warm welcome to the fine dining experiences, every detail was handled with care. The Victoria Jungfrau perfectly blends history, scenic beauty, and modern luxury. It’s the kind of place where you feel both pampered and inspired, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Switzerland.

The service and staff here are amazing! Very professional. What we loved about the room: magnifying mirror that slides for taller/shorter people, spacious and sufficient space for two peoples' suitcases and hanging clothes, clean wood floors, plenty of outlets, good wifi, plenty of places to hang towels, outlet in the bathroom for curling irons, beautiful view. Suggestions: bathtub shower with high sides to step over was tough for my 85-yr old Mother.
Wendy M — Google review
I never leave reviews, but I was incredibly disappointed with both the hotel and service during a one-night stay on a tour of Switzerland. Our room was 203. Common areas are deceiving—they hide very dated hotel rooms—old red worn carpeting, dust ruffle from the 1980s, shower curtain, inconvenient plug location, TV on an awkward stand. Shower curtain was too small and bathroom became wet, no hot water in shower (although there was from sink), sink not draining well with water accumulating in bowl. Air conditioning in rooms cannot be lowered below 19C, but the beds only have super thick comforters. We were offered a fan, which was never delivered. We were told to leave the window open, which did not seem safe on the second floor in a metropolitan area. Dinner at the hotel was marginal at best—we were waited on by multiple servers who didn’t know what we had told the last server, food subpar, mismatched pool furniture on the terrace (best part of the hotel was the beautiful view from here). Morning breakfast below the quality of other hotels in Switzerland. Overall, staff seemed overwhelmed trying to care for other important guests (some type of delegation) and could not provide service to regular travelers. Definitely not 5-star.

Access to the grounds is free. There are a few information boards around which tell of the history of the Schloss. The views from up there are great. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Beautiful castle and museum in a medieval setting. What's not to like?
Susan S — Google review
This is probably the best museum I've ever seen in a castle. There's not much more to add here. Those who haven't seen it won't understand. The castle also functions as a hostel. I was thrilled by the punk staff behind the cash register and in the restaurant. This castle has its own unique style.

Very unique experience, cosy little town. Prices were reasonable given the location and the fact you're staying in a medieval castle. Free castle- museum tour included. Excellent proximity to Bern and Interlaken. Offered breakfast was good but rather basic.

Hotel Bären am Bundesplatz is a laid-back accommodation option located in the heart of Bern. The hotel offers newly renovated, low-key rooms with modern amenities such as free WiFi, an electric kettle, and a coffee machine. Guests can enjoy a small Bernese breakfast buffet each morning and have access to a wellness center and fitness room. The hotel's convenient location makes it easy to reach from the airport or by car, with nearby public parking available.
Delightful. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Jessica who rearranged our room for us. Some reviews talk about the street noise and ear plugs - which is true - but our room had very effective double glazing and super-quiet air conditioning. Great location for public transport and access to the historic centre. Don’t miss out on a float down the Aare if you’re here in the summer.

Its a great place to stay in Bern. The hotel has an excellent location, close to the station and walking distance from the city centre as well. The staff are incredibly sweet. The concierge was really warm and helpful with her tips to sightsee in Bern. They have free coffee and a free welcome drink (alcoholic/non alcoholic of your choice) which is amazing (and not seen in Switzerland tbh). Great place and value for money.

Great Location. Friendly staffs. Vera and Baljit are super friendly and helpful. Air-conditioner works great. Something to note that there is no fridge inside the room and water pressure is a bit too slow. However, these doesn't bother us we still enjoy our stay.:) thank you.

We had a wonderful stay. The family room was spacious, featuring a connecting door in between. The staffs were friendly and it was just 7 mins walk to the train station. They even gave my son a football as a welcome gift, along with welcome drinks. They are definitely 4-star.
Cherry L — Google review
Very nice hotel on an excellent location. Very friendly and helpfull staff, good rooms, a lot of choices for breakfast and the "Bären" theme through the hotel was adorable 😊 I can't think of anything I didn't like except the noisy street in front of the hotel. Apparently supply trucks and market stalls are busy there quite early in the morning. Obviously this is nothing the hotel can do anything about, they have isolating windows(when opened the noise is a lot worse) and even provide earplugs for the guests, which is very thoughtful. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to ask for a room not located on the street side. All in all a great hotel which I would certainly recommend!

Personnel and service are 4 star. No bicycles to use, but with the traffic dont get a bike. Everything is within walking distace! Grocery and pharmacy next door to hotel. Location is 5 star. Our room is extremely small! A cruise ship room is bigger!

Had brunch there. Open buffet for 25CHF, coffee or tea included. I didn't know they offered brunch until a friend invited me to go. It was pleasant. The buffet consisted of various cheeses and dry meats as well as yogurt, various compotes and jams and oats. You can also ask for some eggs for 5 Chf additional. All in all, I liked it. The mood was laid back. It's not a place you go to discover innovative/non Swiss food but for the price and the quality, I recommend it. You might need to reserve in advance as space is on the limited side

Asian fusion restaurant
Cafe
Treff is a restaurant in Bern that serves familiar Western and Asian dishes in a colorful space. The service can be slow, but the food is generally good. The scampi pasta could use some improvement, but the pizza and cabonara are both good choices.
The fried rice in wok with duck is really nice with “Wok Hei”. We’d miss this dish definitely.
Ada M — Google review
I visited Treff Asian Restaurant and Café and had a good dining experience. I ordered the Ginger Beef and the Grilled Salmon with vegetables and rice. Both dishes were well-prepared and tasty. The customer service was good. While the overall experience was positive, there is some sections for improvement that keeps me from rating it higher. I give Treff Asian Restaurant and Café a solid 3 out of 5 stars. Worth a visit if you're in the mood for some Asian flavors.
Dilexshan S — Google review
They offer a fantastic selection of Asian and local dishes, along with a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Their Asian cuisine receives high praise from customers, Additionally, they incorporate local ingredients into many of their dishes, providing a delightful fusion of flavors

The place is right on the main road through old town. The atmosphere was good, and I enjoyed sitting having a beer watching people come and go. The food was ok. I had spring rolls and chicken satay. The chicken wasn't bad. My colleague had the duck and said it had a flavor like it had been frozen and reheated.

Maki Z — Google review
The restaurant itself have a variety of stuff (pizza, pasta, burger, sushi) and usually that’s the kind of place I avoid for sushi, but I was surprised and pleased to see that the sushi is done in a entirely different kitchen with a cook just focusing on that. The waitress was very friendly. Sushi was very fresh and yummy. And the dessert was very pleasant too.
Ace S — Google review
Loved Thai restaurant. It was a bit weird to have a combo of Italian and Asian food in the menu, but that didn’t take away from the quality and taste. Plus the owners Siberian husky is a pleasure to visit with for lunch.
Modia B — Google review
Popular restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a large menu of western and Asian dishes. We visited with a a group of friends. Overall we were not impressed, the inside of the restaurant looks worn, the service was mixed with one server apparently on her first day, and with no clue about the menu to answer questions. The food was mediocre, standard fare you can get anywhere. So, overpriced for what you get, in our view.

Chill atmosphere, great place to relax and unwind before exploring Bern and the old town. Cakes were average, coffee were the better ones I had in Switzerland. Initially staff wasn't very friendly and helpful as we obviously looked like tourists (Asians) and were looking for seats. Thankfully another staff was very friendly and make sure we had our orders taken and checks in with us. I would say the service quality is not very consistent across all the waiters, definitely need more training if they brand themselves as related to Einstein and a tourist place to visit.

As soon as you step in you breath another era. The hotel is packed with furniture, paintings and objects collected during centuries and has much personality. Staff is very kind and helpful. Good breakfast. The room was clean and very well kept though there were no plugs next to the bed. With Bern ticket Bern is just 10/15 minutes away by bus and Koniz is very nice, full of shops and restaurants and close to the park. I had to keep the windows more closed than what I wanted because of traffic but once closed the noise stopped disturbing me. Good wifi.

Definitely one of the worst hotels I've stayed in due to its location and design. Continuous stream of unpleasant street noise makes sleep impossible. We stopped here for coffee while waiting for our washing to be done next door. The lady was so lovely and helpful. She actually changed a note for us to use in the laundry next door as well. The blonde waitress was very rude. I was going to get a coffee, but I used the bathroom first. She assumed I wouldn't get anything and started speaking to me with contempt and rudeness, treating me like I was a criminal. This place is highly unadvised.
Maikel L — Google review
Nice breakfast and a good coffee ☕ I like the outdoor patio very much
Chris M — Google review
Stopped by here cause it had a crowd and a pretty good selection on the menu. We had pasta, some ravioli something, and it was very good, fresh, and delicious. The bread that came out was great too. The salad that came with it was pretty good too. For desert we had an amazing black forest cake, awesome. Service was very good, attentive without hovering or leaving us on our own. If you're in the area this is definitely a place to check out.

We were so happy to find a restaurant that didn't close by 2pm! We got sidetracked sightseeing and the place we had planned to go had closed at 1:30. This was a blessing with excellent service, great food, beer, wine, and friendly service. I highly recommend it.
Laurie G — Google review
Came here for breakfast, staff very friendly . Small round tables seat 3 people. Delicious gourmet chocolate cake ! My cappuccino tasted like a watered down coffee with a little froth on top, I guess to be expected as it's not an authentic Italian coffee place. A little on the expensive side for what we had.

Decent drip (batch-brew) coffee. Medium-bodied, no dryness, low acidity, flower/leaf-like taste (but not floral or sweet).
Dhruv P — Google review
Not too bad for the area. I wouldn’t specifically come again for it but it’s still better than the average for Bern.
Lift_Run_Eat_ — Google review
Well, Bern is expensive so we are not going to be taking the price into consideration. Love the vibes and the aesthetic. It is super clean and neat. They are fast and friendly. I wish they have more food options, but I cannot complain, so overall it was a pleasant experience. Nice outdoor seating for summer and a few high tops facing the window. Keep the good work !!

Yesterday, I wanted to enjoy my coffee and an amaretti biscuit on the terrace in the sun. Then two naughty girls sat down next to me and started smoking weed. I find it very borderline that the café allows such inconveniences.

Pretty bad cappuccino and average service. The lady asked us if we will use the sugar and took it away from our plates. It was just not nice and made us feel not welcome.

Lovely and friendly staff. The Cafe Fredo with caramel was perfect on a hot day. Free toilet with purchase or else only 1 CHF

Chocolate Mousse was very good. But, I have to say charging tapped water, in a city that has public fountains with drinking water is not a god thing.

Very nice and sympathetic team with a great selection of coffees. They give excellent attention to customers , whilst pouring amazing coffees. Good to hear what drives them 😍🇨🇭

Excellent coffee. Nice place. However when I was there I felt there were some bad vibes between boss and employee. I don't like that. If the boss is not happy about something, he should ask the employee to come in the kitchen and tell him there (and hopefully in a more polite way). Always treat your employees with love and respect. Happy employees = happy customers.
Nicola R — Google review
Excellent specialty coffee, very well roasted and extracted. Had a Rwanda coffee on the espresso, which was really nice - creamy and not very acid, and a hand brewed coffee from Colombia which was very very sweet and fruity. The service is very good and the ambiance is cozy. On summer you get to sit outside and enjoy the weather!

Very nice specialty coffee :) You can also buy the locally roasted beans from them.

Perhaps is one of the best authentic coffee shop in Bern. They serves lots of coffee variation with many variants. The price also not too expensive, and worth to your bucks. The barista also a very nice and helpful person.

approx 1 year ago I bought green mk studio coffee server here and some of their roasted beans online. They are pretty nice people. Got my answers replied rapidly. If I could visit Swiss during working or casual life hours I will definitely drop by this store some day. Sending love from China

Worth the hype! This is a beautiful small coffee shop with delicious coffee. I tried an espresso from Éthiopie and a tropical V60 from Colombia, both recommended by the baristas and it was a perfect experience. Went back home with some beans ✌️ can’t wait to taste them. Be back soon

How to use Drip Roasters: 1) take all the cards of coffee they sell from the shelves. 2) wait in the line , start reading them. 3) order your filter by choosing one of the showed descriptions at the casse. Better if you got familiar already while waiting with some of them. As additional: avocado toast is 5 star , so well made. 4)sit outside if hade place. If not wait outside to get the place if someone left. And read the cards with coffee at the same time. 5) enjoy your filter and continue reading. Also you can ask chat gpt what are the scores of each sort. 6) after you finish your filter, choose what coffee you want to buy for home. They had best of the best El Pacer. But was sold out. Every coffee they choose is wow. With your cup they give you the card for the coffee you have chosen. I loved the Batista was paying enough attention even it was so peak time. Atmosphere is young people. Only: I’d love to have better view there!!! Like next to the Bern art museum location. Or have a river!!!! That would be a dream place. You need a decent visual accomplishment to these tastes experiences. But anyway, you come for a good filter here first. They use wave filter for pour over .

A really cute place! A lovely spot in Bern where you can have brunch, drink a coffee, or simply have breakfast. Must to try: their special Jazmine pink milk! Prices are quite high, but the food is very well-made and the atmosphere is very nice...and it's all vegan!!!

The kurkuma latte was good but the cookie could have been better to my liking. The decaf coffee was very good. The staff is very fast and professional. They have many options, and bread too. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the price. The space is very nice and they open on Sundays

Freshly backed breads and cookies. I had croissant and bread. Good ambience. Close to station 🚉. Good customer service. Would visit again.
Prasad K — Google review
Customer service is bad, slow servers, they take forever to complete an order. The items are all overpriced for what they are (mediocre). Moreover, there were wasps flying in the pastry area when I visited. Don’t go there.
Manos B — Google review
Absolutely amazing staff and pretzels! The cinnamon roll was a little bit underwhelming, which, with that price tag, was a bit disappointing. Nice, cozy atmosphere, with comfortable chairs. Get the iced tea/cappuccino and a butter pretzel ;)
Klára K — Google review
best iced coffee & slowest service in town. Except for when a few competent people are working, you'll stand in line 10+ minutes for a coffee, and the line won't have moved forward even 1 person. So go when you're not in a rush, the food and beverages are great!

Great Beverages and Food, great location and Ambiente. Sunce its close to the University it tends to be quite full, yet a great place to study. Theres many seats and poweroutlets (also free Wifi) So far the workers were always friendly and polite even if it was packed and busy, will definitely come by again.❤️
