Pub
Restaurant
The King's Head Pub is a popular spot in Winnipeg's Exchange District, known for its lively atmosphere and diverse offerings. With a British and Indian menu, this relaxed watering hole also features regular live music and a large selection of draft beers. The spacious establishment has been open since 1987 and can accommodate up to 340 guests, offering traditional pub food, pool tables, and an upstairs area for live music and dancing.
EDITING THIS REVIEW TO ADD: Jared, our bartender for the night, was seriously the friendliest, funniest, and fasted server we’ve ever had. This dude was simply on top of it. He remembered everyone’s drink and just made the night so much better. Very friendly, chill staff and great atmosphere. Good drinks and great food. Definitely a spot to come back to.
Grant L — Google review
I’ve been here a few times when they have live bands and the atmosphere is expectedly crowded and loud but has a fun vibe. Came here today for Burger Week and it wasn’t crowded at all (especially since it’s a Tuesday night). Tried the Caribbean Water and loved it! The burger was called Cheesus Take the Wheel. The burger was ok… wish it had more cheese (to match its name). We ordered it with curry chips (fries) and this one was really good! Certainly a unique offering. We also ordered chickpea curry (mild) and it was served with rice and naan. Unfortunately, not a fan of this. It didn’t have much of a curry flavour to it.
Jean S — Google review
A cool pub to hang out with friends with. If you are doing to see a band arrive early or prepare to spend $20 for the quick entrance. Good selection of drinks and knowledgable staff.
Sloane R — Google review
Didn't have food this time but had a pint. Service was attentive. It's a place with great memory for the city. Old school pub with funky decor. Can get busy and noisy on the main level. It's a classic in the Exchange District.
Hank B — Google review
Firstly, The staff are INCREDIBLY friendly amazing people :) Secondly, worst nachos I've had in years. The chicken was WAY overcooked on our mid nacho, otherwise thy were on par. But the chicken was like chewing hockey pucks. I am so disappointed that i am writing this as my party and I eat them. To me the salsa was awful. My friend liked the salsa though. To me it just tasted like someone put a tomato in a juice and squeezed the juice out and then cut it VERY crudely because the chunks were HUGE and it was unacceptably watery, probably used high water tomatoes. Thirdly WAY too few alsohol-free beer options for how many drinks they have on tap. Heineken zero and Guiness Zero ONLY. Lastly...There were very few BIPOC folks here on the night we came so Kings head doesn't feel incredibly inclusive hence only 4 stars for atmosphere.
Marika H — Google review
It's a pub in Winnipeg, Canada. I sailabrated my 59 birthday there with Bangers and Mash and a pint of Guinness. This, too, was my second time to The Kings Head Pub as was the first time the food was outstanding.
Paul H — Google review
Dropped in while passing through on a Sunday evening. Great beer selection, and butter chicken poutine was great. Staff was friendly and got to chat with some locals. Seems like could be big party spot some nights, but was a nice spot to grab a bite and watch sports.
David R — Google review
We hosted our company holiday party on the 2nd floor at The King’s Head Pub, and WOW — what a night! The space was perfect for our group of 45, and the food? Absolutely outstanding! The cheese log and chicken parmesan were huge hits, and they went above and beyond by making a vegetarian Shepherd’s Pie with Impossible Meat. Our veggie-loving guests were thrilled to have such a tasty main dish. Shoutout to Dale and Luke, who were rockstars all night! They were so attentive, checking in often to make sure we had everything we needed and that everyone was having a blast. If you’re looking for a fun, welcoming place to host your event, we can’t recommend The King’s Head Pub enough. It was an absolute win!

Located in downtown Winnipeg, Patent 5 Distillery and Tasting Room offers a unique experience for spirit enthusiasts. The tasting room provides a view into the distillery, creating an incredible atmosphere. Furnished with reclaimed elements from the historic Oak Room at the St. Regis Hotel, this cocktail bar exudes charm and sophistication. Visitors can enjoy locally crafted spirits and even book a tour to learn about the distillation process.
Always a great place to sample something new. Today our group tried the "Sunshine in my pocket", "Apple 75", and "Prairie Plain", a new drink made with their Bourbon style whiskey, Chili's, black pepper and a bunch of other ingredients I can't remember. It had a nice burn to it, that came in complimentary waves. Also a shout out to @maianhcooks for her pop-up. She added some really cool and extremely delicious items to the menu today.

Definitely worth a late night visit! If you come here, make sure to try the Tall Tales cocktails. I had the Jackalope, which was very tasty. Extra cool that they distill their own alcohol. Very neat atmosphere and was quiet when we visited, which actually somehow made the experience more enjoyable.
Jamie H — Google review
Stopped in at parent 5 to taste some whiskey’s, it was worth the visit I was just disappointed by the poor selection of bottles for purchase. I had to buy a sample pack because everything else was sold out.
Jay M — Google review
Went here a few days ago with my parents I don’t drink alcohol anymore! But I gotta say they do have an all right ginger beer wish it was a little bit spicier and not as much ice but not bad. it’s a pretty fun environment. Pretty low-key chilled vibes. Next time, I’ll have to try some of their snacks
Max I — Google review
Patent 5 is an amazing bar. Their mastery of cocktail and distilling is to be studied. The ambience is fabulous and the bartenders are not only knowledgeable and friendly, but welcoming and warm. I love this place
Austin R — Google review
Create atmosphere, loved the samples. Gin is a home run!! Highly recommend. I really enjoyed the Singapore sling while my wife and her friend throughly enjoyed the fish house punch!

Why @patent5distillery ? The amount of knowledge you gain from this tour is definitely worth the low $10 admission price that includes a drink (gin or tonic or non alcoholic option off the menu). It's in a slightly hard to find out of the way section of the exchange district. It's a gem of a find when you do get to it. It's for a distinct atmosphere that makes for a moody almost romantic feel. There were so many interesting facts, but you'll have to go see the tour. Here are a few tidbits: -5th patent was for column or patent still, it was a new technology that helped increase the efficiency of ethanol production. -The vodka is distilled through 16 plates for a clean taste. -They make 350 bottles per run, which isn't that high of an amount. -Everything on their menu includes one item that is made in house -my friend insisted this was one of the best gins she's had in awhile! Overall: 5 🌠 Atmosphere: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Service: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Food/drinks: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (only drinks as we ordered no food) Price: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (I didn't get a clear look at the menu as we did the tour mainly) #patent5distillery #weekend #winnipegbar #drinklocal #wpgpub #exploremb #onlyinthepeg #winnipegdrinks #drinkstagram #distillery #pixel3

Absolutely loved it! The staff were fantastic and friendly - and the place itself has an awesome vibe and environment. Our drinks were great - I really appreciate that they don't use disposable straws and have much nicer ones. Love LOVE loved the cheese plate! (They even have a vegan version.) Their gin brew is phenomenal! Can't wait to do back.

Yellow Dog Tavern is a cozy and relaxed spot located in the heart of downtown, offering a welcoming vibe that attracts both locals and tourists. Despite being surrounded by skyscrapers, it maintains a friendly neighborhood bar atmosphere. The tavern serves a modest but tasty menu featuring burgers, wings, and pizza alongside popular pub drinks like beer, wine, and spirits. It has been a go-to spot for more than 10 years before and after concerts at the Garrick or the Burt.
Wonderful place for relax with delicious food and beer. Very intelligent and attentive staff. Nice music and only nice visitors here
Victoriia — Google review
One of my favorites. A great meeting place for drinks. Beer and simple cocktails. Lots of menu options but the Manitoba Bison Burger is the best with a Caesar salad and hot sauce 😋 Their homemade soups do not disappoint either. A lot of people have the nachos too. Lots of TVs for the games, close to the Burt, and lots of seating space with a variety of windows, high tables, booths, and counter seating. The wait staff are great. The owner is awesome. Lots of wonderful memories here. Check it out!
Paige S — Google review
If you're in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and looking for a great spot to hit up after a concert or a Jets game, The Yellow Dog is the place to be! The atmosphere is vibrant, and the service is top-notch. But the real highlight? The mac and cheese with chorizo—it's an absolute national treasure! Everyone needs to try it because it's amazing. Highly recommend stopping by!
James W — Google review
We went to the Yellow Dog Tavern before seeing a show at the Burt last night. What a nice surprise the Yellow Dog Tavern was. The food was good - we had the chili and the chicken fingers. The selection of beers was wide (and included cider for my wife), and the service was very friendly. The cost was very reasonable as well. It is a small place, I think there was only about 10 tables so getting a seat may be tough if you don't come early on show night. I definitely recommend this for quick and tasty eats at a reasonable price with good service. And don't worry, this isn't a "dive bar" despite its downtown location, we felt very comfortable and safe inside. In fact, I would say that downtown needs more little pubs like the Yellow Dog Tavern!
Farley J — Google review
Very hospitable staff. Drinks are always cold and food is hot and hearty. As someone who comes from a family that eats nothing but ripple chips and onion dip I only wish there were more side options. The salads are excellent though! No slimy, sour tomatoes.
Jimmy F — Google review
Is this the best bar in Canada? It's close. This is the bar your friends have told you about, it's the bar that most touring bands default to when paying the burt, it's the place you go when you want some good food and a fantastic drink or too. Don't sleep on this little place, or I will call you a fool.
Jesse M — Google review
Stopped here for a drink and was going to order food. Decided to start with nachos and figured we’d order dinner after. I’d heard great things about the food. After the nachos we decided to go else where. Not sure how you screw up something as basic as nachos but they were not good. There was almost no cheese on them at all, dark and over baked with almost no toppings. Luckily we had added guac so it some what saved it but definitely very disappointing.
J S — Google review
A classic downtown pub. Food was all homemade and delicious. Server was fun and efficient. She even looked up ingredients in their home cookbook for us. Service speed was moderate but we felt very welcome in our large group. I will definitely be going back.

Bar Italia, located at 737 Corydon Ave in Winnipeg, is a popular spot known for its diverse menu featuring global eats such as poutine and pasta. The tavern setup includes a bustling sidewalk patio where patrons can enjoy their meals. From April to October, the place is packed with a mix of biker groups, hipsters, models, and aspiring DJs making it an ideal hangout for various crowds.
Loved the perogies at this longstanding establishment in Corydon village. Also really enjoyed the fish tacos. If you like perogies - try these ones - they were perfectly cooked.

Very friendly atmosphere, amazing food created with care and detail, classy modern atmosphere and great staff! A great establishment for all ages, accessibility inside and out, and some of the dog regulars that stop by. The coffee is phenomenal as well!

My family member came in for a drink or two and a dinner with some work friends, she said the food and service was great. She brought me home takeout, I figured a chicken parm sub might get a bit soggy... But decided to take the chance anyway. I don't often write reviews but I had to for this because that was the best sandwich I've ever had.... Do yourself a favor and give them a visit and let the chef make your day. Thank you, definitely earned a repeat customer.

Nothing like satisfying your Bar I Deluxe Fries cravings..picture in this review are the chicken fingers with deluxe fries..one being banana peppers and mozzarella and the other herb and garlic! Never disappointed..Bar I has been a staple since I was my teens. Spent my early twenties celebrating my birthday here and I have the best memories..definite changes in crowds over the decades..but the food brings me back!!
Sheilana C — Google review
On an otherwise boring Tuesday night, we chose to visit Bar Italia, where the patio is hard to beat. Luckily for us, we met and were served by Layne, and it made our night - she has a great sense of humour! There was a small issue with our order, but she dealt with it quickly and fairly, and we ended up having a great time chatting with her. I highly recommend seeking her out if you decide to get out and enjoy Bar I’s food and drink on their sunny patio.
Casey D — Google review
Excellent time. Their burgers are worth the trip, and so many options, on bun, artisan bread, or wrap. But also their fries are served with lots of flare, the cheese and bell pepper, the pesto and feta, the herb garlic. All amazingly flavourful. Great service. Great food.

Nice little bar good crowd best cappuccino I’ve had in ages
Joseph — Google review
Bar Italia is an interesting place and it’s been around for ages. The patio outside is beautiful and one of the best places to hang out in the Corydon area when the weather is warm. Inside can be a tad grungy, but it’s kind of charming. All sorts of people frequent this place – middle aged/older and students during the morning/afternoon and then a younger crowd at night when the place turns more into a bar. Some of the food is good. I’m not a coffee drinker, but friends have said they it’s good.

Shannon's Irish Pub and Eatery is a bustling establishment that embodies the warmth of a traditional Irish pub. It offers classic pub fare, live music, and karaoke nights, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends while being entertained by local and international performers on the Jameson stage. The venue hosts various acts including Celtic dancers, indie artists, and local musicians.
I can't count how many times we have passed this hidden gem in the downtown scene and we were always in a rush to stop in. That changed today finally and let me tell you folks, we're not ever making that mistake again!!! The BOGO Fish & Chips deal is what sealed the deal as we seen the chalkboard ad 😋 GO THERE!!! EAT THE BEST F&C MEAL YOU WILL EVER HAVE IN YOUR LIFETIME!!! AND GO BACK again and again!!! I know we will be getting back there sooner than later. And make sure you get to know Olivia the bartender 😉 awesome service, even better personality!!! Can't believe it took us this long to finally enjoy some really great food, people and ambience 🤩💞💚
Elsie C — Google review
Service was good Food and drinks after a jets game. Nachos with beef was ok not much for beef or veggies but a fair amount of marble cheese. Plus side they give enough salsa and sour cream. That’s a plus, we ordered extra not knowing! Shrimp and fries were great came with seafood sauce the home made fries were excellent with Salt and vinegar.
Michael P — Google review
Went there after an appointment a week ago. The Irish stew was really good. So were the wings. I think the wings had more flavour and meat than any place I’ve been to in a bit.
Sweet L — Google review
The underground atmosphere was warm and inviting, with an old-time feel. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. I tried the braised onion soup with cheesy ciabata bread, for a starter. I had the ale cod and fries for the main dish. The soup wasn't overly seasoned and good. The cod was hot and the breading light. The waitress Maggie, was new, friendly and didn't have any recommendations. She was attentive and timely. A nice neighborhood crowd for a quiz night. I was visiting from the States. If recommend this place for good pub food.
Tom — Google review
Went for dinner and beers with a group on a Tuesday evening. Friendly staff. On tap was a nice selection of local and imported beers. The burgers were great. Had a good time. We're from out of town. When we're back in Winnipeg then we'll stop by again.
Douglas G — Google review
Fantastic atmosphere with amazing service and really good food. I got 1lb of wings and tried my first Sangria (I'm not much of a drinker so I needed so guidance on what to get lol) and both were incredibly good. Can't wait to come back with more friends soon.
Darrien B — Google review
Such a great vibe in this place. Plus you can't go wrong with cheap tequila shots on Tuesdays and Thursdays! Basically the only bar I go to 😋 if you haven't been, you definitely need to try this place out :) aside from daily specials they do Karaoke on Tuesdays after 10pm and have free pool on Thursdays. Not to mention the service is amazing and the servers are always so pleasant 😊
L. M — Google review
I visited last night with my sister, her fiancé, and my cousin, who had just come from the Korn concert. We went to the bar to grab a drink before heading home, but we were completely ignored by the bartenders despite standing in a clear section for around twenty minutes. They repeatedly served others around us, even second rounds, while we were overlooked. My sister doesn’t drink.. we were not inebriated—we just wanted a beer and a mocktail. After waiting so long with no service, we left. Very disappointing and awkward as hell. I would not recommend that poor experience/service to anyone.

Restaurant
The Toad in the Hole Pub is a classic British establishment located in Osborne Village, offering a wide selection of beers and whiskies. The multi-level space has been a fixture for quite some time, providing an ideal setting for various activities such as pool games or enjoying whiskey sours. Despite occasional maintenance issues, the pub's warm and welcoming atmosphere makes it a popular spot for friends to gather and enjoy hearty meals and lively conversations.
I was looking for a place to play pool where they do not have vlts because I cannot stand the sound of those vlts and so I was able to go to the toad and play a few games of pool with my shiny new cue and the staff was friendly. The place was quiet because there was not many people as their pub is different. It's old school and it's meant to be old school because most pubs are noisy and full of ridiculous 19 year olds, this is a place where you go with your grown up friends. It's meant for people who are nostalgic about ambiance and character
Andrew M — Google review
Nice local pub. My friend had the smoked meat sandwich which he loved. My burger, however, was the opposite - small and overcooked to the point of being burnt. The fries were great. The service was excellent
Bob B — Google review
Yeah the hype is real, a perfect whiskey sour(well about 3 😁) and a lovely poutine. The staff are quick and friendly, great people at the bar, well put together layout. Clean, interesting, good view points for the band if you are actively listening to the live music. The stools at the bar were a little short for me to eat, but bar stools aren't made to sit n eat, they're for drinking, that's on me!

Note: Pictures in main profile don't reflect current location. Nice pub with a friendly atmosphere. Staff were friendly and prompt in their service. Food was excellent alongvwithe beer selection.

Pretty chill place, good for college nd young adults wanting to loosen up. The fish is great 👍

We love the whiskey sour and the chicken fingers here. Their specialty, Toad In the Hole is delicious! The sausage inside the Yorkshire pudding is very tasty. My fiancé enjoys their whiskey bar. It's definitely a good way to try different bottles without needing to commit to a whole bottle. The man behind the bar is so friendly and is very helpful when it comes to suggesting new things. It's a great experience every time. The environment is fun. If you're not for super load places, maybe go in the afternoon or earlier in the evening on weekdays. But if you're all for it, by all means. The energy is awesome.

Additionally, the club is popular for themed dance parties and introducing new local bands regularly.
We played there June 20. Decent space with private bathroom in back. We were 19 people in total, wouldn't want much more. Good stage set up and good mixture of tables and standing area.

Great vibe. Good drinks. Saw a bartender standing on the bar which was kind of off putting. Both of the ATMs ran out of money and they weren't taking debit for entry, which was very difficult. The sound was well put together for live music. Otherwise nice venue for live music.

We had a fantastic time! The staff and service were great, the place was clean and dj was fabulous! They even had a water station at the bar which was a very nice, and appreciated touch!
Tovah L — Google review
Went for Queer Bingo and had a blast! They had a decent beer selection, which was awesome for this craft beer lover. My only complaint would be that they ran out of food options early on in the night, but I think that was because they probably weren't expecting the huge turnout they got. But overall, fun place!
Kyra T — Google review
So I'm a little drunk, walk in to this club, my girlfriend orders two chicken sandwiches for us, wait like not even 10 minutes, these bad boys come straight to our table, looked absolutely dropped dead delicious, take a few bites, realise how its a satisfaction for good fried chicken and sushi at the same time! I know it's crazy but it just works, leaving this revie while I'm eating this delicious invention because I think people need to know, and I might forget later!
Arsen B — Google review
My friend had a charity concert in his son’s honour at this wonderful little venue. All of the staff was fantastic. The bartenders were friendly and attentive, and the security was some of nicest I’ve ever met. The name is perfect for the vibe this place gives off, Good Will.
Amar B — Google review
Excellent neighborhood hangout. Great coffee. Great beer selection. Great venue for seeing bands too. This place does it all and does it well.
Jeff P — Google review
One of my favourite places to grab a patio beer or see some live music. The restaurant inside is fantastic too. Only complaint is that sometimes they have a dj on the patio, which is fine, but they play music so loud that it's overwhelming and impossible to have a conversation with the person next to you. Otherwise, the place is great!

Great café in St.Boniface. Delicious sandwiches, salads and burgers. Must try the smoked peach chicken burger.. it's amazing! The fries are also delicious.

Returned for a quick bite. Ended up ordering a number of different items. The lobster prawn ravioli arrived under cooked, so I did not try it. They took it back without issue and replaced the item with the one my friend asked for. The crab dip was great with a mix of chips and warm naan bread. My French onion soup didn't seem to have very much cheese inside. The black bean burger was good. Service was friendly but again a bit absent. ----- Previous review Went for singer/songwriter Wednesday. This is a place where something is usually going on. We ordered 2 items but one was sold out and my friend had an allergy to a lot on the menu so I wasn't able to fully explore here. There space is a bit grungy with hard wooden seats. The food I did have was very good and flavorful. It was the pickerel which we added fries to. Service was friendly when we got it. Beginning of service was fine, but it petered off. We were mostly left alone so water refills rarely occurred. We had to ask or wait 20+minutes. I'd still go back to try the rest of the menu.

Overall, a good experience. Food was well flavoured but many dishes in our party of 13 were on the cold side. Attentive service. FANTASTIC house made desserts. Due to open concept, venue can get very loud.

First time here. Came over lunch period after an apt. next door. Have heard about this place though. Food was pretty good but just took way too long for 2 simple meals and no it wasn't busy. Servers were friendly and all but just not attentive. After food was served she never returned once to check up on our meals. Overall just meh and a forgettable experience. My favorite part were the paintings.

This is one of the best casual pubs in the city. Come as you are and dance like no one is watching. The good could be better, my fries were quiet burnt. And, the staff very nice and friendly.

The food here is always delicious. My friend and I came to have a bite during festival but had good service regardless. Nice atmosphere. Le poutine is amazing!

The smoked peach burger is amazing, and the poutine sizes are big enough to share!

Decent place. Staff was great. Wooden chairs aren't the most comfortable. Vegan hummus was good and the small poutine I had was really good. Most everything else on the menu was significantly more pricey than what I ordered. The band that was playing was really great and the patrons varied in age from early 30's up to mid 60's. Overall a great vibe. Cool place.

Restaurant
Club 200 is a small gay bar in Winnipeg that transforms into an electric dance and disco club after sunset. It serves as a safe space for the LGBTQ community, providing a place where people can be themselves without judgment. The club features occasional go-go dancers, karaoke nights, great music mixes, and a friendly atmosphere. For those who prefer a more relaxed vibe, Winnipeg offers plenty of pubs and bars with options to play pool or enjoy drinks with friends.
I love Club 200. On Saturday nights they have Bingo. With every drink/meals you buy you get free bingo cards to win prizes from rice cookers, donut makers to laptops. They have an amazing staff and the food is really tasty and reasonably priced. The people are accepting and friendly with all ages colors and types. They also have shows starting around 10 pm and then dancing to great music (I love to dance}. I also love the pool table; it's awesome to have drinks, joke around and play pool with friends or different people. I've made many friends going to club 200 and the atmosphere is amazing; it's always awesome to be there.

It was a fun night out with friends. The club is small but friendly. A place for all genders to mingle. The night we went there were mostly happy lesbians but it was still a nice vibe. The music reminded me of the queer as folk.

I love visiting Club 200 when I'm in Winnipeg! They seem to have quite a lot of events. I love that their washroom is gender neutral. The staff have always been friendly to me. I went on Halloween one year and it was packed (but in a good way) and I danced the whole night! Music was great, vibes were great, and at that time they had coatcheck, which I loved! Will always go back!

Best place in the city for Karaoke on a Thursday night. Bar staff know how to make drinks, bouncers are friendly, and lots of great drag performances. This is definitely the most LGBTQ+ friendly place in Winnipeg.

Went to go see a “show” at this establishment and seating was horrid. Bartenders were extremely elitist and instead of serving customers, would rather spend time chatting amongst each other about nails. You’d think that as a fellow member of the lgbtqia+ community, they’d be more understanding about what it feels like to be ignored or excluded, but sure, go off sis. Incorrect information was given on the listing for the show saying that the bar opened their doors at 7:30. Clearly it opened earlier (I’m guessing for the regulars that was a good deal for them) and seats available at that time were where you couldn’t see the screen. Definitely felt like a great value getting those tickets ahead of time. Incorrect information was given during the announcement for food. Was told over microphone that food was available to be ordered before 8. Great, I didn’t have dinner after work so food would be good. So went to the bar to order food before 8 and was told it was too late??? So why make that announcement if that information was inaccurate?🤦🏽‍♂️ Overall, if I was from out of town and was curious about a visit this to this bar, I’d skip it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Wedding venue
Resto Gare And Train Bar Bistro is a charming family-owned bistro located in the historic Saint Boniface Train Station, dating back to 1913. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its old-school French ambiance, including an adjacent train dining cart and a courtyard-style patio featuring live music. The menu features classic French dishes such as escargot, foie gras, crepes, poulet cordon bleu, and cotes dagneau en persillade.
We celebrated an anniversary here and it did not disappoint! The ambience and decor was full of character. The service was attentive, and our server showed an enthusiasm for and knowledge of the menu that helped us narrow down our choices from so many yummy options. The food was outstanding. Full of unique, layered flavours. We ordered Foies Gras as an appetizer, Duck Confit and a seafood linguinni for mains, and the lemon tart for dessert. Drinks were great. Definitely a very special restaurant that is hard to compare to most other restaurants in the city. Wednesday nights they have live jazz music. It would be a great place for even a couple of drinks and an appetizer, let alone full course meal :) We will be back!

My wife and I came up to visit Winnipeg from the US state of Iowa about a month ago to support our kind Canadian neighbours. Everything about this restaurant was lovely. The service was friendly and thoughtful and the atmosphere was unique, romantic, and quirky. The food was delicious, and there was plenty of it. We started with complimentary bread with oil and vinegar. Next, we had the escargot with buttery, toasted bread. After that we ordered the TRÉSOR DE LA MER dinner for two, which included a soup or salad (we got corn chowder) followed by a delicious seafood pasta with lemon, crab, mussels, shrimp, salmon, and fried fish mini fillets. I would strongly recommend making a reservation at this amazing place for a special night out!

We went to La Gare restaurant for a dinner to celebrate our anniversary, and we both were greatly impressed by authentic atmosphere, interior of renovated train car, great service and delicious French cuisine. It's not cheap, for a dinner for two we paid around 160 + tips, but it was well worth it, and we enjoyed every meal we had. Waiting time was moderate, around 20-25 minutes, music was nice and not too loud. Parking is a little tight, it takes some skill to get parked there or leave when parking lot is full, but the restaurant itself is just great)

We recently visited Resto Gare Bistro & Bar for our anniversary, and it was such a wonderful experience!. We ordered the mushroom appetizer, onion soup, soup of the day, pate marine, and chicken with mashed potatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious, including their complimentary bread with olive oil dip. The portions were generous, and I was pleasantly full by the end🙂. I loved their warm & cozy atmosphere. Not only that, their service was welcoming and attentive too. Highly recommend this place for a special occasion or a cozy dinner out❤️

I had a wonderful dinner at Resto Gare. The French onion soup was simply outstanding, and the lamb dish was cooked to perfection — absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was elegant, the service excellent, and I look forward to returning on a Saturday evening to enjoy their events.
Megan D — Google review
We came here for our anniversary and the atmosphere was very warm and the live piano music was very nice, but there were a couple issues. We were disturbed a couple times, once by a staff member eating at the table across from us with her hood up, eating with her mouth open and smacking her lips so loud it was interrupting our conversation. The second time was when staff were fighting and yelling at each other in the middle of the dining room behind us. Not very professional. We ordered the Brie Fondue appetizer and it was really good. For entrees I had the Bourguignon while my partner ordered the Saumon de Maison. The Bourguignon was cooked perfectly and fell apart with a fork, however the sauce was watery and really didn’t have a lot of flavour. Her salmon was quite delicious though. The duck fat roasted baby potatoes that came on the side had no seasoning and tasted like a plain boiled potato Overall a nice evening but we were a bit disappointed with our meal, especially when paying such high prices
Quinton A — Google review
Surprisingly bad, to be honest. We had a reservation for 6:30 and didnt get our entrees until 8:30. When we got there, there seemed to be a large gathering that took up most of the main dining room. We ordered our drinks which took quite a while to get there. Then we ordered our appetizers and entrees. The appetizers came pretty quickly. We ordered the baked brie and the French onion soup. The soup was the highlight of the meal and the baked brie was okay. After we ate our appetizers, it took an hour and a half to get our food. We had bought a bottle of wine for the table and had finished it before the food even got there. Once the food did arrive, it came out sporadically and not all of us got our food at the same time. I got the beef bourguignon and it was terrible. The broth was very watery and the beef was so tough that I didnt even finish it. It was dry and overcooked. Two of my family members had the chateaubriand which they found was okay, but we found the Gates did it better. My husband did like the lamb however. Our waiter was very apologetic about the wait. However, I think the restaurant should have been more diligent when booking such a large group, as it impacts their other guests. Our bill was around $500 and we definitely didnt find it was worth the price. We would not go here again. If you're looking for a nice French restaurant, you're better going to the Peasant Cookery. The food, service and atmosphere was just all in all better.
Brittany M — Google review
We ate in the train car. Lovely patio for the summer and another dining room. Dinner was tasty, definitely French influence (I had the beef Bourgogne, shared some escargot and a creme brule for dessert). Staff were kind, friendly and very helpful. It's out of the way but worth finding. I'd definitely go again.

While being rerouted, we had to stay in Winnipeg. After checking in the hotel, we went to the restaurant to dine. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and both the hostesses Nicole and Ally were superb. Very pleasant and friendly and accommodating for us. Being a vegetarian can be a problem but not with these two ladies. They took our dining experience to another level. I thank them from the bottom of my heart and wish all the good luck. Keep up the great work ladies. Thank you on e more.

It was our party's first time at The Merchant Kitchen. The service was attentive and our server was very genuine. The menu was a little on the smaller side but presented some interesting options. Our server explained the menu and mentioned that the food was served family style. Our party decided on purchasing individual appetizers and we decided on the Grilled Corn. The corn was seasoned well, however, the tortilla chips lacked flavour, almost as if they were store-bought. The menu was priced on the higher side, although justifiable, as it was a more classier atmosphere.
Nicole S — Google review
Merchant Kitchen describes the food as Asian Fusion but to me it’s more in line with Latin/South American along with Asian dishes. Best of both worlds yet oddly confusing 😆. Love the vibe of the place and the bar. Love me some good cocktails. Limited cocktail menu but will make whatever your heart desires. Aston Margarita is a solid classic margarita. A polarizing cocktail is the Cafe Lima. If you like it and finish it, you need your picture posted at the bar 😂. Your palate is unique. Service was fantastic and attentive for a busy night. Recommend as a great place pre-event downtown.

The food was good, we had wings which were delicious. We also tried the fried rice, the noodles and the tacos. Everything was good, the tacos are a bit expensive for the quantity but it was good. We also tried chocolat tart and lime tart, both were delicious. The wine is super expensive , good cocktails a bit expensive too. Overall a good experience. But the place is very noisy which makes it hard to have a discussion with everyone at the table. 100 bucks for 1 cocktail, 1 beer, 1 glass 6oz wine, noodles, tacos and 1 dessert, is a bir pricey ( price for 2 ). I'd still recommand, not sure I would go back because of the noise.
Amina A — Google review
We went with a big group of friends and got the buffet menu for $35. Food was okay and the portion size was fair too. After finishing our food I did a little calculation and the buffet menu we tried - if we were to order them individually would have been cheaper than the buffet? Not sure if it was a good deal since the buffet is not unlimited amount of food. Drink menu is good and they have quite a lot of tequila and mezcal shots/sips. Good place to go with friends but price wasn't really reasonable. The Korean chicken is nothing close to a korean chicken at all. Sauces were not close to Korean style either.
Luna K — Google review
Heard great things about this restaurant but found it to be somewhat average. Corn with nachos tasted like canned corn with some cheese on top. Korean chicken was basic fried chicken and nothing more. Dandan noodles were good again but nothing special except sauce was tasty. After hearing good reviews I was disappointed and found it pricey for what you received. Pleasant service

The food was average, but the most disappointing part was the service. A waitress introduced herself as the one responsible of our table, we thought we’d be getting good service, but it turned out to be the opposite. We visited the restaurant specifically for the $1 oysters to celebrate a friend’s B-day. But found out there was a minimum spend of $25 per person (food only, drinks not included), which was fine. But after finishing the first round of oysters, we waited a very long time to order the second round. We told the server multiple times — as well as other staff that we had been waiting and were also in a hurry. The waitress who should be responsible of our table just disappeared for a long while and only came back to tell us the food was “on the way.” Because we were pressed for time, we decided to cancel. When she heard this, she clearly wasn’t happy and disappeared again for about 20 minutes before finally confirming the cancellation. Then we had to wait again just to get the bill, despite reminding them multiple times that we were in a rush. It felt like they were upset we canceled a dozen oysters and deliberately dragged things out. During the first round of food, no one even came by to check on us or ask if everything was okay. P.S was Tuesday non busy time, restaurant is not full, just few tables when we visited

I went to Joe Black Coffee Bar for a small dinner and had a really nice experience. I started with a Mango Matcha to drink, which was super refreshing and for food, I ordered the Turkey Club sandwich, and I especially liked that it came with cooked bacon. For dessert, I had the Apple Jaz, and I really enjoyed it. After that, I also tried the ice cream, which was a surprise. I didn’t even know they sold ice cream there. The flavor I had was strawberry butterscotch chocolate, and honestly, it was something different in a good way. The place is located right next to Assiniboine Park, which makes it perfect for grabbing a bite and then going for a walk to relax. The vibe inside is really chill, with comfy sofas where you can hang out with a friendly and fast service. Great spot next to the park, and I’d definitely go back.

Absolutely Refreshing! I tried the mango smoothie and it was incredible! Bursting with rich, tropical mango flavor, perfectly creamy, and not too sweet—just the right balance. Met some friends for coffee and lunch. Staff were friendly, helpful and bilingual (English or French). Inviting inside with plenty of seating including lower comfy chairs for lingering. Espresso style coffee was served scalding hot, but had good flavour once cooled to a temperature that doesn't cause injury (tip to the barista: coffee is for drinking). Had the half and half sandwich and salad option. Salad was drowned in dressing so inedible. I specifically asked for no mustard on my ham sandwich but the kitchen just scraped the mustard off. Good thing then it was a preference not an allergy! A tiny piece of orange fake cheese to finish what was a barely edible sandwich. Friend had the egg salad which contained a tiny amount of scrambled egg, lettuce leaf, and diced raw red onion. Inedible. Can't recommend the food, but ok for coffee and a chat.

One of my favorites in Winnipeg but tonight was a letdown. I do enjoy a great tartare there usually but dropped in tonight for a dessert and espresso and got quite disappointed by both. The chocolate tart was excellent but the piece was ridiculously small for $12 and the espresso was not good at all with zero crema and likely could have get a better one at Tim Horton's sadly. The staff was apologetic about both and service very good as usual...

We had such a great experience at the bar! Kiran was our bartender, and he absolutely impressed us with his skills. Instead of just picking from the menu, we explained the kind of flavors we liked, and he crafted drinks perfectly suited to our tastes. Great experience at this restaurant. The food was amazing and decor is outstanding. The aesthetic is just gorgeous. Our server Taylor was awesome! My only feedback is that the bathroom is very fragrant and would not be suitable for individuals who are sensitive to fragrance

What a hidden Winnipeg gem! The atmosphere is really comfortable and inviting. The food is delicious. We had the chicken burger and the fries as well as crème brûlée for dessert. All of it was outstanding. Interestingly enough, we are not beer people, but came to a brewpub for lunch. I tried a Winnipeg-made vodka seltzer Beverage from nifty. Also really tasty. I’m really impressed by this restaurant and proud to have such a great little piece of history right here in Winnipeg.

The ambiance is amazing! Also the lunch special for two is a perfect deal for some tastings of their great food. Best burgers and chicken burgers I have ever had. Savory and sooooo good !

The most outstanding experience all around. Incredible food, impeccable service and note worthy beer. Adrien was such a joy to be served by. He was so kind, knowledgeable and personable. We do have a handsome Bernese mountain dog named George so we get it. They even brought out treats for our boy. I would go out of my way to have this experience again. We drink more beer than we’re proud of and it’s some of the best I’ve consumed. Thanks for an incredible experience!

The Handsome Daughter is a local bar that offers a wide variety of beers and liquors in a nice and relaxed atmosphere. It's known for showcasing local bands and providing live music, giving them a chance to perform. The outdoor area with an open garage door adds to its charm during warmer seasons. The restaurant inside, Magic Bird Kitchen, serves great food including delicious honey dill sauce. Despite the sticky tables, visitors enjoy the cozy atmosphere and fun music at this small venue.
03/29/25 Had a wonderful time at the Handsome Daughter! I saw some great artists perform, along with one of my best friends, Scarlette Alexis! The vibes were so fun, the staff were super friendly, and they were also playing WWE at the bar! Didn't try any of the food, but I will next time! Cannot wait to go back! :)

Posts like from Small green Army Man a couple reviews below is not an honest google review. Probably a friend or co worker or even the person in the review itself attempting to be funny. Trust your judgement! Google reviews are supposed to be honest and based on genuine experiences, with policies against fake, paid, or manipulated reviews. However, it is possible for dishonest reviews to slip through, as the system relies on user-submitted content and reporting to flag violations. Users can report misleading reviews, and companies should try to counteract negative ones with positive customer experiences. Been there twice, great venue, super friendly and cool staff! The sandwiches are awesome, I didn’t expect them to be that tasty to be honest! Highly recommended, especially the vegan ones

Jude cooked me up a fantastic sandwich called "The Gambler". Although, due to me being a 2 inch tall, small, plastic toy depicting an army man. It was quite difficult to finish. Ate one quarter of it within 27 different sittings before the sandwich eventually expired and I had to toss it. Eating 27 portions of this sandwich was quite grueling, but I will say that the first 7 meals of it was very enjoyable. I suggest you make the same choice I did, but if you are a regular sized army man, I'm pretty sure you could finish it in one sitting. I'll mention again, that I am a 2 inch tall plastic army man. Good sandwich.

I am not appreciative of them deleting my past reviews. 1. Owner/manager Jessee is extremely violent and unhinged, tried to fight me in the bar and have heard countless other stories of this same behaviour. 2. Bathrooms are disgusting 3. Cash only but ATM never works - apparently it’s not the ATM’s fault though and Jessee will fight you if there is a problem with it. Good thing they got a new one right after that incident! Totally had nothing to do with what happened :) 4. Constantly out of drinks somehow even though it’s a bar 5. No apologies or anything have been made from the bar or Jessee after he tried to fight me, was extremely aggressive towards the girls I was with. I will continue to write reviews until they apologize and stop paying to remove them.

Flea Whiskey's, located at 164 Stafford Ave in Winnipeg, is a popular local spot offering a great atmosphere for enjoying drinks and fun with friends. The restaurant is known for its delicious wings and reasonably priced food and games. Guests can also enjoy playing billiards while savoring some beer or trying out the wraps and fries. The establishment has received praise for its attentive service, making it a recommended place to visit in the city.
One of the best location in city. Parking is available but it could be a little problem mostly paid or rarely get spot. Price is very reasonable for food as well as games. I tried their wraps and fries. I went with someone for billiards game. I am giving 5 star because of service by the bar tender guy, person who served food on the table etc. I am very pleased to see that. I wish they maintain the same in future. Good luck to business and I recommend this place to everyone. Tried to work on pics. By chance I captured view for early evening and when it was dark.

One too many times I’ve come here after hockey and been served by this brutal excuse for a bartender named Jamie. Rude, dismissive and forgetful, it doesn’t matter… I’m blown away that this bartender is still employed. Not coming back after YEARS of coming here after games. I hear Silver Heights has great deals and better service.

Been coming here off and on for years. It's had its up times and down times. Recently went for dinner and drinks as a going away get together for a friend. The wings were kind of expensive for what they were. Tasty enough but small wings and price per pound was high. The chicken fingers on the other hand were reasonably priced and very tasty and tender. Good honey dill sauce and good fries. No Guiness on tap but had it in cans. They have a suprisingly large draft selection. Billiards tables are decent as well. Overall 4/5 for a night out.

Taylor was amazing! Genuinely the best service I’ve had in years. She made my night and made me and my friends feel valued and appreciated as people, not just customers. I will definitely be returning and will be recommending it to my friends as well. The drinks were brought out super fast and tasted good. The pool tables were in great shape as well. 11/10 service, thanks for a great evening.
Ishaan M — Google review
Discriminatory, sexist and unwelcoming experience. I came in with a group, about half of whom are Indigenous. Right away, the staff were rude and made us feel unwelcome for standing in the wrong place at the bar. I initially brushed it off, assuming it was just a busy night. We reserved a pool table, and the group next to us — a group of white men — began making horrible sexist remarks about the women in our group. When we mentioned it to the bartender, she told us those men were her friends and regulars. Later, when we were getting ready to leave, someone had written on the pool table in chalk. The bartender accused one of my Indigenous friends of defacing it, even though one of us saw someone outside our group do it. After reading other reviews, it seems our experience with racism and bias here isn’t unique. The place itself was also rundown, dirty, and poorly maintained. If you’re a person of colour, a woman, or part of the LGBTQ+ community, I’d recommend avoiding this place.
Al — Google review
Service is usually great but once in a while can be a miss; I’ve only encountered this the odd time I visit on a workday. However I find every time I visit on a Sunday the staff are so lovely and when we play billiards they regularly check on us for drinks/food/etc. Atmosphere is good but recommend coming earlier when it’s not too busy.

Leopold's Tavern in Winnipeg's Osborne Village is a beloved spot that captures the essence of a traditional pub while offering a modern twist. The extensive menu features classic pub fare like wings, poutines, burgers, and even breakfast options available all day long.
There’s so much I can say about this place. The vibes, the food, the drinks, the service make me feel so much at home and loved. Danielle, the goat, the dog, the balla of ov took care of use with whatever we needed, threw back some much needed banter and ensured that our Leo’s experience was met at the highest quality that you would hope for from this establishment. Thank you Danielle and thank you Leo’s for making our night one to remember
Zach — Google review
Service and atmosphere aside, this location appears to need some help in the kitchen. The main concern is the pulled-pork sandwich. My recommendation would be simply: "don't order it". My order had so little pulled-pork that the spirit of that little old lady from the Wendy's commercial chimed in and asked, "Where's the beef...I mean, pork?!" As for the pulled-pork, it tasted like it was made the week previous...dry and stringy. The chicken in the Thai chili bowl may have been undercooked, as it lacked that 'tender' feel when taking a bite. It wasn't enough to ruin the bowl's overall flavours, but enough to have the taste experience fall short. Will we return? Absolutely. For a chain restaurant like Leopold's, they have a way of making it feel like they are an independant location. Something that the bigger chain locations cannot seem to replicate. I have confidence that whatever is happening in the kitchen will get resolved in good time.

Food here is nothing short of amazing, i Love leopolds! Kind of on the pricey side and had a hipster kind of feel to it. Staff seemed slow though when it wasnt busy.. which is why i gave 3 stars Good place to stop for some day drinks! Food is about 25-30$ per meal but if you got during happy hour it isnt as expensive! Would return
Jonathan M — Google review
Usually have a fine dining experience at other Leopold’s locations, however this one was on the lower end for service. Ordered 2 items for my friend and I to share, they only had 3 other tables around 2pm. Ordered at 2:15 and food finally came at 3pm. I had to move my car in between to avoid getting a ticket since the food took so long even though it wasn’t even a meal time rush period or a weekend. Asked for the soup of the day first and they stated they ran out, at 2pm(?), never heard of that before at other Leopold’s locations. The burger was drenched in mustard, I have nothing against mustard but this burger could’ve done with a lighter spread so you could actually taste other ingredients and flavours. Was very filling and portions are great. Wouldn’t come to this location again, I would stick to my usual Leopold’s Bridgwater location from now on, they are much more efficient even during meal rush times. Photos look great because I’m good at taking pictures, but I would say that the photos made the food look better than they actually tasted.
Helen — Google review
Usually we love leopolds but this recent visit was completely different and stupid. We ordered online and got a notification that they were out of one of the ingredients for our meals. And instead of a option to get a refund they had made us the meals with the substitute that they chose and when I spoke to them about it in person they denied us a refund and had said that the person who made the order had chose the substitute but we were not given the option to cancel the order or make a substitute choice. Not to mention we ordered extra gravy and also curly fries with all the meals and did not get curly fries or extra gravy. The deep fried pickle breading was stale. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they were made hours ago. Even after telling us that we couldn’t get a refund, they let our food sit in the kitchen while I waited. By time we got the food it was cold. Very disappointed in this location.
Maxwell R — Google review
I have ordered online and in person numerous times and it has been consistently great. Love the cheeseburger poutine especially on my weekends with friends. I have access to two other locations but I prefer this one as the quality of food has always been good. Always nice to try the burger of the month, nachos and fries. atmosphere is nice and friendly but culturally not as diverse even when it comes to the staff. The staff however has always been kind and welcoming.

I bought my order online. I order parmesan mac and cheese. It was a big portion but it taste bland chesse only.

I really like Leopold tavern food. There are chicken. Fingers are super crispy and the fries are delicious with the extra seasoning. I also had the Thai chilli chicken rice bowl, which is also fabulous. The portions are quite large and one order of chicken fingers and fries is enough for two meals for me.

First visit and had a blast! No cover charges. We came in just before 10pm after the live bands finished performing at Hi Neighbour Festival and there wasn’t any lineup yet but it was already packed inside. Pop Vegas was playing and they are an amazing band playing very high energy covers. Every single member of the band put on such a great show. They are such a joy to watch and the music was so good to dance to. Dance floor was packed! When band is taking a break, the DJ played great music as well. They have good security, no drinks on the dance floor which is a good rule. Drinks are priced fair. Bar service was good. Clean and has good decors. Will definitely come back as we enjoyed so much! Can’t believe we’ve never visited here before. Definitely a gem in Transcona!

Love the bands, but if you don't arrive the minute the doors open there wont be any room even to STAND where you can either SEE OR HEAR anything. Yeah, there's a back room now, which I guess allows them to sell more tickets - but no view of the stage and even worse sound. I generally try to avoid going here for shows now because of this. Got stuck in the back room with friends the other night for a show that wasn't inexpensive.... and left early. It wasn't worth it. Not sure why they didnt put their bar/kitchen back there when they "renovated" and opened up the rest of the front area for patrons.

The World Famous Palomino Club is a lively dance club located in the downtown and Exchange District area of Winnipeg. The club recently relocated to a historic building on Main Street, offering posh digs in a converted bank building. With Booty Shake Mondays and ladies getting in free until 11 pm on Fridays, it's a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
Palomino club is one of the most incredible clubs I've ever been to. Here are some reasons why 1 Christian Stewy Scotty ,Lisa ,House Paige and Beth and to all the others that work there. Its not a easy business to run but they do a A game club Reason why is I was out for a walk and ran into a bartender, we had a great exchange My mental health was not good past few years and I made a mistake. In these times. Life is fast. Things happen But it was dam good to say hi to one of the finest bartenders in winnipeg I wish 1000% success for you and these times of security being the highest priority. House does a great job and I apologize to the security guards for a unfortunate mistake on my part Sincerely Stew

This place is very sketchy. My girlfriend and her friends were having fun until they had a man following them everywhere. Even to the bathroom and waited outside. When they told security they didn’t do anything to make them feel more safe. Would definitely not recommend to any young woman with out a few male friends around to keep safe.
Brandon A — Google review
Unbelievably poor crowd control for a busy holiday like Halloween. A very large group of people were allowed to continuously cut in front of my group and the other girls behind us. It wasn't a line anymore but a huge blob that expanded into the street. Our yelling for people to stop cutting was ignored by staff and it got to the point where we were being crushed into the people in front of us which is very dangerous. Controlling the people outside is just as important as those inside. I'm glad we were able to leave and spend our money elsewhere.
Melanie R — Google review
One of the bartenders at the basement was being so racist. Even though I tried to buy some drinks from him, he kept giving me a glass of water and refused to give me alcohol. I tried to buy some redbull with my drink for the guy I met from the club and then he finally gave me beer but still the wrong one. I asked him budweiser but he gave me budlight. I checked the price with another bartender and it seems right what he charged but still feel what he did to me seems like totally racist thing 'cause he took the order properly from the guy who I bought him redbull.
Hyeongsoo K — Google review
Super upset after my most recent visit at this establishment, due to me being apparently banned . I get it they don’t ban people for no reason but given that I was at the club after this banning happened & that I was also asked to come in for an interview , I find it quite upsetting and very unprofessional. I’d just avoid going here in general the bartenders talk crap about the clients on tiktok aswell yikes 😬 not only that but they also don’t do nothing about the men who prey on the women there. I’ve had to save a few females from there….. I get it’s a big club and a lot of things are happening but some of these guys are there EVERY weekend and it’s gross! Those are the people they should be banning not the ones who go there to have a good time & make a mistake of taking someone else’s shirt after participating in one of the clubs contests . 🛎️ Service: Horrible after I acknowledged their mistakes but pleasant to me before I guess? 🎡 Facilities: It’s a club I didn’t expect it to be clean however it’s full of cooked people and pervs so hopefully they ban the right people going forward .

First and last time I will ever be going here, went here last night with family and friends from Minnesota for my cousins graduation someone from our group suggested we should go here as most of us have never been here before. WHOLE PLACE is absolutely terribly unprofessional, from the security threatening us too those same security fighting people(unknown to our group) right outside, to the bartenders being very rude due to what I can see them being overwhelmed and under staffed, to the busser pushing us to grab empty cups and bottles causing one of my cousins to spill his drink. On top of that on our way out a few of my cousins and myself were staying near the front waiting for the rest of the group well we were waiting we over heard security demanding a young lady tips the door lady because she took to long to pay her way back in they said she was wasting there time because she didn't know there was no reentry policy *keep in mind it 1:40am there is noone else in line* She didn’t end up tipping, she stood on business! Would not recommend coming here EVER!! staffs attitude are hostile ! 0stars

My past experiences: The place has had the same playlist since I first came here. Didn’t wanna come here, but my friends did. Anyway, I went to pull out some money to pay for the entry fee. Apparently that isn’t allowed and I wasn’t allowed in? I told them I wasn’t even aware and had two of them sworm me and get in my face and told to leave? This place is so trashy. Spend your money else where and I guarantee you won’t be treated poorly

We went here for burger week. The burger was the best one we had out of all of them. The thing is, we had more than the burger, which, I might add, the cut in two for us and split up the curly fries and well! Great touch. We had some of their wings, and we had some broccoli cheddar things. Both were really good. I would (and probably will) go back for their wings again. The broccoli cheddar balls were a surprise - in a good way. The service was great. Our server was very attentive and showed up just when we might need something more. The food came out in good time.

Best burgers in town! Every month they have a ‘burger of the month’ and it never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and comes back often to see if you need anything or to refill your drinks. Cost is very reasonable. There are a lot of TVs on throughout the venue showing various sports; the bar is full during Jet’s games. A variety of good tunes in the background makes this experience relaxing and enjoyable. There is also a VLT lounge if interested. The food though is better than you would expect. C’mon on down and check it out.

Wings are great but expensive. $40 for 2 dozen. Riblets are appearently supposed to be charred but they were pretty burnt and dry. Would have told our waitress about it but we almost never saw her despite the place being nearly empty. We had to go get our own drinks at the bar and yet the tip machine STARTS the recommended tip at 18% and goes up from there. Gotta say, I'll never tip that high on somewhere we need to get our own drinks from the bar. Waitress was nice enough but that doesn't go far if we're waiting for ourselves.

I belong to a vets group that goes to have dinner every Tuesday. I always order the steak sandwich medium rare ,more on the rare side so it will come out medium rare, I order the samething everytime. We love going here. Except the last 4 times I've been my steak has been over cooked to medium almost well done.I have also ordered first and other people show up and join and ordered after me. I got my order last out of 10 of us and I asked the waitress why I got mine last and she said it was because I ordered steak and it takes longer. I said it's medium rare more on the rare side. I got a shrug. So tonight I will try the steak sandwich 1 last time.

Bar-goers can enjoy Karaoke (depending on the evening), Shuffleboard, and Billiards, as well as themed nights. Great Spot along Osborne and River.

Great little legion tucked away in the village. Great beer prices, and the daily lunch specials are delicious and terrific value. Lots of fun stuff going on in the evenings too. Chase the Ace and Happy hour. Try the hamburger steak with onions and gravy, it's unbelievably good!

We live in the village, so it’s a quick walk to the ANAF. Very affordable delicious pints, nice vibe, and a cosy patio. (We didn’t try the food.) Just remember to bring cash!

Easily my favorite bar in Winnipeg. Nick prepares amazing food from Monday to Friday before 1pm - and every bartender is lovely. Anders, Roy, Burto, Kevin, Cliff, Danny

Great atmosphere! Super awesome staff. Cheap drinks! Chase the Ace n Meat Draw on Fridays at 7! The patio in summertime is fantastic too.

Great spot in the Village to catch live music. Laid back, friendly atmosphere. Good service at the bar with good prices for draft beer. Did not have any food, so can't speak on that. In the back room you can escape some of the noise and play some shuffle board, or sit at a table and shoot the breeze while watching a game. There's a little VLT area too, if you're looking for that. But it's a real good spot.

Run of the mill bar. I really liked it. Beer was affordable but, the people there are wonderful. I really felt comfortable there. Wasn't too many rowdy youngsters which was very appreciated. We could have a conversation very easily. Also, God bless the man who won the jackpot and got us free drinks. You sir, are amazing!

Tucked away behind an unassuming blue door on Carlton Street, the Thomas Hinds Sampling Room is a unique spot that caters to those who enjoy the occasional cigar with their cocktail. While it's primarily a tobacconist shop, it also welcomes non-smokers thanks to its state-of-the-art ventilation system. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, with friendly owners and staff who are knowledgeable about cigars and mix up excellent drinks.
This was our first time here and I have been wanting to come for a very long time. The atmosphere was charming and cozy. The server was so very helpful. Loved the martini cart and the choices you get, such a nice touch. We like and smoke cigars but not often so having the server help us choose the cigars for the evening and explain the cut that would be best was super helpful and made the night more special. The cocktails were really good as well. Overall an amazing experience and looking forward to our next visit.

The premiere cigar lounge that provides the best experience in all of Canada. Great selection of cigars, knowledgeable and friendly staff, incredible cocktails and an unmatched selection of spirits and wine. A must see if you’re downtown in Winnipeg.

Been coming here since it first opened, great place to smoke and chill. Super comfortable, live music is so nice, they have some people really pop off in there with their music. Cigar and drink selection is on point. Charcuterie boards, bison, kangaroo, and elk pepperettes are good, the coffee is another favourite of mine too. Overall one of my go to places to go for a night out on ant occasion Prices vary on cigars, i tend to get ones in the $30-$75 range

Great service, cigar selection, and drinks. The room ambiance was perfect and air filteration was excellent. Lovely service by the staff on the floor and behind the bar.

I attended yet another Cigar Event at Thomas Hinds last night. Can't say enough about this great place. The atmosphere, service, friendliness of the staff, and overall vibe in the place is really amazing. It's nice to have a place where you can go hang out with a few friends, and enjoy a cocktail and a premium cigar. Will definitely be back.

I had a solo reservation on the evening of July 12th and was seated at the bar. The bartenders were amazing and made the evening so much better than I had hoped! What a great space in the middle of downtown Winnipeg.

Incredible place! The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the product! The atmosphere is classy and sophisticated without being overbearing. Dress up, dress down, all are welcome. The live jazz that started later on was an absolute treat! Went to a woman's only event, celebrating women owned and led businesses in the tobacco and scotch industries, and had an amazing time. Very much looking forward to attending the next event here.

I played a duo with a piano player and had a great time. It was a good old world experience. The smoke isn't overwhelming. I mean, you can smell it and you just smell like it when you come out. But way better than smoke filled bars back in the day. Excellent whiskey selection, great vibe. Lots of stuff for people to enjoy, including live music but also sports on the big screen

Jekyll and Hyde's Freehouse is a one-of-a-kind establishment that seamlessly transitions from a laid-back pub to an energetic nightclub. The venue boasts a diverse events calendar, making it suitable for various night out experiences. Guests can enjoy an excellent happy hour with affordable pints and a wide selection of local and imported beers. The pub-style menu offers reasonably priced, freshly prepared dishes. With ample space, numerous TVs for sports viewing, and a popular patio area, the atmosphere is versatile.
Excellent place for lunch and dinner. Ive been for both, there hours fluctuate seasonally. They have a $ 11 option, either fish and chips or some chicken fingers with dill. Both options are excellent, fresh. I believe the chicken fingers, deep fried fish and french fries are homemade. Supervising value and taste for $ 11. Service was excellent, friendly staff and they top up your pop if its running low. One time food was cold, they where busy. I mentioned it and they remade it and than didn't charge me for my lunch. The odd time I pop in for a drink with a friend, they ran out of milk and where unable to make my favorite beverage. They improvised, used coffee cream to make my drink. A+ Im surprised at some of the reviews, a lot of complainers. (borderline suspicious ) The old rule of thumb in the restaurant industry. if your not happy than let them know in person, on the spot to give them a chance to correct it.
T L — Google review
Excellent happy hour with $3.75 pints through the late afternoon and a strong beer selection of import and local beers. Good for watching sports, as many TVs are available from nearly all angles. Food is surprisingly good, with a pub style menu which is reasonably priced. Dishes are clearly made fresh to order and are not cooked exclusively from a freezer. Atmosphere is quite, as the space is very large and not generally full, though a large and popular patio is available to sit on. Excellent service is provided, with the owner commonly on hand. Most definitely a place worth stopping to watch a game, or have afternoon beers.

My work booked a holiday function here for 37+ people last minute. Brian was accommodating, accessible, and helpful. The space was a good size, food was great, and staff were on the ball. The only unfortunate thing is that our food did not come out at the same time and some waited a fair bit of time for their meal after many others had finished. But given the size of our group, it was understandable. Thanks Brian.

Been here a couple times where the services was actually good. Went in Friday night where we were enthusiasticly welcomed only for the waitress to say "I don't normally welcome, I just needed a tray" as she grabbed a tray from behind us and walked away without another word. The sign said 'Please wait to be seated' but no one came to seat us. We sat ourselves and waited for 15 minutes without even a glance from any staff. They looked a bit busy clearing up a big table but once the waitress was done she checked on the table being served across from us and turned around and walked straight past us, as if we weren't even there. We left after being there for a good 20 minutes of being ignored.

Comfy pub. The food is pubfare but evey thing I have had on the menu seems home made nothing from frozen. Chicken wings are very good. There is a Tuesday open mike night which is pretty good and a poolroom in the back. Service is usually fast, but can slow down when it is busy because they don’t always have enough waiters on. (Not because there is anything wrong with the service) Been here a few times, always a good experience so far.

Great little pub we stumbled upon. Has a nice little patio and a good selection of beers. The pulled pork sandwich and Greek chicken burger were excellent. The chicken pesto sandwich is good but only if you really love pesto cause there's a lot of it.
Abigail K — Google review
Came in on a Friday night around 7pm. Place didn't look too busy. We got seated right away, but we waited for 15-20 mins with no service. Not even a drink order. The people who came after us had their drink orders taken pretty quickly, and that's when we decided to walk out. Will probably never go back and wouldn't reccomend it either. From what we saw of the menu, it was pretty boring.

I had a good time here, and I was sad to hear its closing down. They have good food and friendly staff, although the highlight for me was their quiz night. It was fun, interesting, and engaging. It's a bit out of my way, but as a stop on a night out I would recommend it

PEG Beer Co. is a great place to go for a drink and some delicious food in Winnipeg's historic Exchange District. This independent brew pub focuses on making all of its guests passionate about good beer and meal pairing.
Loved getting the flight of different beers to try and refilled my Growler with the tasty Dazzleship IPA. Nice atmosphere and knowledgeable staff help you find a beer you'll like. Flatbread makes for a great beers side snack.

I'm not a beer drinker, so that will color this review. I'm told by my best friend the beer is fantastic here though. Service has been hit and miss, which is what is mainly getting this restaurant a 4 star instead of 5. The food is good. The seating isn't the most comfortable, but its a bar environment, so I'm not expecting that much. Its pretty loud in there, but again, I think that's part of what its meant to be. *Edit* They currently have a cauliflower and leek soup. It's very very bland. If you want healthy go for it, but it lacks flavor compared to everything else. I told the server I didn't like it. She didn't have a reaction. Sometimes some restaurants will let you get something else. Her silence told me this was not one of them... Or at least it was awkward and I figure something had to happen. I did not understand why she bothered to ask me if I liked it if it didn't make a difference whether I did or not? So I asked to have it packed because I didn't want to eat it and my friend said he could take it since we were paying for it anyway. I had planned to eat the bread at the table but she had grabbed the entire plate. Ok no bread... I figured I would wait until she got back and eat the bread when it was packed. No big deal. So she comes back later with only the soup. I ask where is the bread? She said oh, I can get you an order of bread. Ok. So she brings a box with bread in. It's new bread... But we get the bill and we were charged for extra bread. If it had been one thing wrong I wouldn't have been aggravated, but it was everything stacking up that made it more frustrating. The other items were good, but it's been aggravating service a few times now. My friend said he'll talk to the manager so depending on his response well change my star rating. Food is a 4-5 service has been 1-3. 4 means I'd be happy to go back but right now I'm not...

Fun Tour and Great Food! Myself and a coworker checked out Peg Beer Co. for the first time, and now we know we will definitely return! Our guide was the head Brewmaster (coolest title for a job ever), and he did an awesome job keeping us and the rest of the tour interested and engaged. We chose to buy a round of beer before the tour started, and we were able to carry them with us into the brewery. Both the beers we tried (Guten Tart and Life Coach) were very different but delicious. You could tell that our guide is so excited to be doing what he does every day, which makes him a great ambassador for the brand they are trying to build. Peg Beer Co. have only been brewing for 8 months, but the place was quite busy while we were there on a rainy Wednesday afternoon, so it looks like they are doing quite well. After our tour we had some appetizers, and enjoyed everything we tried. The Mushroom flatbread was my personal favorite. We look forward to visiting again soon, and will be telling our friends!

Buyer Be Ware! When ordering from skip the dishes or from the restaurant menu! The tourte is false in details not worth buying way over priced for such a small narrow slice! The details did NOT say anything about this being a sliver of a torte. So buyer-be-ware. I give a one star for the false avertisted price and size of dessert being sold at $10.00!! The price is the same on the main website and on SkipTheDishes. So for the chicken sandwiches and salad as are fantastic and the fresh bread is super yummy 5 out of 5 stars! I paid $14.00 for wonderful sized meal! Over all super bothered by the size and price of the desert it was not worth $10!!

My husband loved his corned beef Sammy and beer and cheese soup. My flat bread was pretty good too. I loved their pickled vegetables and its so nice to go somewhere where almost everything is made in house. Their bread was delicious. Didn't really have a favorite beer but it was fun to try all 6 for $12. Mondays are all day happy hour (-20% all beers).

The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, perfect for socializing with friends or enjoying a romantic evening. Guests can savor delicious cocktails such as mojitos and bourbon drinks while indulging in fresh and tasty charcuterie boards or olives.
Very cool atmosphere, great service by Jordan! Great cocktails, we had Espresso martini,Portugal the drink, smoky chimney, and dill by Dill all great!!!!

I like the concept of this place. It's a hidden gem. There's is a roof patio with a bar, but you better book a table in advance, especially if they have a special event there. The lower level has a mysterious, dark lightning, but it's still cozy. It's a small space. Service is good, polite and attentive. I like their cocktails, however their sharable board was ridiculous. I asked a server if it's shareable and big enough for company of three, and be said that all the meals are shareable. We were waiting for our dish for a while and then get 7 pieces of baguette, some meat (it's not a prosciutto), some vegies and cheese smeared with a thin layer. It wasn't bad, but it was weird to scrape your order with a knife from a wooden board. It's not enough for company of three.

A hidden gem speak easy in Winnipeg! Very impressed with their vibe and killer drinks. Love the dill by dill and the paralyzer 2.0. The bartender made a mean paper plane, very ed’s. I usually frequent speak easys and this one is a stand out!

We really enjoyed checking this place out. We stayed inside in the basement, super dark and candle lit, the vibe was super awesome. We got some drinks which were good! The food was okay, we shared the charcuterie and it felt super random with ritz crackers and such, but it was alright.

In the heart of Osborne Village, you'll find OV Club, a vibrant dance club that offers free entry and a complimentary drink for those on the Friday night guest list. After an exciting night at OV Club, locals and visitors alike often head to Little Pizza Heaven for a delicious late-night bite. In downtown Winnipeg's Exchange District, popular dance spots include 441 Main, Citizen, and the recently relocated Palomino Club in a historic building on Main Street.
Sweet place one of the most fun of times i've had in a while, first time going my lady had us on the guest list which got us free entry and ended up getting a free drink ticket each (if its your first time try get that) i read a few bad reviews before going was skeptical but was impressed no line up if you go at 10 very efficient bartenders and great djs and security as well. Some of the managers and workers from old clubs that have closed linked up to make this one amazing i noticed. First time was not the last in this case!!
Leslhies — Google review
Drinks very overpriced. paid 16 dollars for a drink 🤪 Music was pretty bad, only knew a few songs & the music hard stopped in between songs frequently enough that my drunken self was very annoyed. Very small, crowded dance floor. Only up side was the bartenders were sweet. Not a lot of girls here, guys were very pushy to dance w/ girls since ratio was so low. Maybe give girls free entry or at least reduced door fees because 10 dollars after waiting in line for 30 mins (we got there 20 mins before $5 entry cutoff and ended up getting in 10 mins after so had to pay 10) sucked.
Sandra L — Google review
The music was pretty good. The place was packed. Everyone was having a blast. Booze was a little bit on the pricey side but that didn't stop people from drinking. The one major downside was the dance floor had a lot of entrances. I was pushed around from one side of the dance floor to another. That is why I'm only giving it 3 stars. If they only had one entrance to the dance floor it would have gotten an extra star.
Ilan S — Google review
Great place to go if you enjoy having your money stolen by the bartender and then subsequently having your face bashed in by the bouncers merely for calling the bartender out on being a thief and demanding your money back. Filed a police report, nothing came of it because everything is here say. Don't give these scumbags your money, this is a filthy establishment that doesn't deserve the one star it inherently gets from me writing this review.
Eric L — Google review
They don’t even deserve one star. Me and my three friends were on the guest list and the they didn’t didn’t let us in right away because it’s was “11:01” it was absolutely ridiculous, the staff was very rude, we were also standing in line since 10:45, which getting in should’ve only cost us $5 then each but instead they charged us double the price because they were jerks and weren’t letting people in until 11 just so they could make more money off on vulnerable people. My friend was falling over drunk and I asked security for help if they could get me a phone to call a cab or anything and they didn’t help at all, they told me it was my problem not theirs. OVERALL: they had horrible customer service, the only thing that made my experience worth going was that it was my friends birthday and we got into vip but other than that, the staff was rude, disrespectful and absolutely not help, and drinks are way too overpriced. STAFF WAS VERY RUDE, NO HELP AND SHOULD BE RESTAFFED.
Isabel S — Google review
The liquor is over priced and the staff is rude. This place is so over priced that they charge $3 for a glass of tap water which I might add is illegal, I went to Herobust and they were putting the lives of at least 100 ravers at risk by charging money for tap water. The only saving grace of this place and the reason it gets 1 star is the fact that they bring in quality entertainment, they do nothing else well. I've been here twice and both times the experience was the same.
Hidden T — Google review
I went there with some friends and I lost my paper for the jacket valet so I when I asked to have it back they said I could only get it back next week Friday. Maybe if I wasn't constantly taking change out of my pockets for a beer that costs 5.50 then I wouldn't have lost the damn paper. Very disappointed in their service that night and I definitely won't be going there again.
Evan R — Google review
My first time going there tonight. It was not a pleasant time. The bar tenders are well presented, and the one girl that I got my drinks from was nice. But tthe night wasn't all that great. - no price lists of drinks or what not and you can't hear when you ask for the price bc it's too loud.. -bathrooms were not that clean, and the first stall doesn't lock. - it was very crowded, so it was hard to walk around or even just stand in one spot without getting pushed or hit with an elbow, leg, knee, head.. - a lot of the workers on the floor were very rude. When I was coming out of the bathroom one of the workers rushed past me and almost knocked me down. And he said "watch where your going." And mind that I only had 1 drink by then on a full stomach so I wasn't drunk. -I went outside with my friend so he could have a smoke. Before going out we asked them how to get in again and They told us we were able to just come in bc we are stamped. When we were done and coming in. They stopped us and told us to wait in line when we showed our stamps they didn't pay attention and made us wait. And proceed to let a group of guys with no stamps just go in. They finally let us in when they looked at our stamps. And they made my friend do the ID scan all over again yet when I went next they told me I don't need to do that I can just go in bc I'm stamped. ( again with the damn stamp) - and when I was leaving, I got pushed into the edge of the rail. And it hurt. I'm just hoping I'm not bruised in the morning. It looked well presented and it did have some good music so that's an upside at least...

Must Be The Place in Winnipeg is a unique and cozy bar that celebrates individuality and creativity. The themed nights keep everyone entertained, encouraging self-expression. It's a great addition to the Village, offering an amazing playlist, cocktail list, and atmosphere with gothy Queen Anne couches, dark leather booths, neon lights, and punk rock decor. The staff provides personalized service and the customizable nachos are fantastic.
My favourite new bar! The nachos and sandwiches are so good!! I love that they have vegan options. The cocktails are delicious too. It has good vibes and they play good music. Friendly staff. Will definitely be back many times!! Also love that they have free tampons in the bathroom.

People ask me if I like MustBeThePlace and I have to tell them no, I LOVE it. The cocktails are phenomenal, the food is delicious, the music is great, the people are the best & the staff are the most heartwarming individuals I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. 11/10 favourite place in Osborne village.

Great potential for this place, they just really need to work on quality food. Since they only have two items to choose from, I thought they would have amazing taste or something that would be like no other place. I ordered nachos and all they did was put toppings on store bought tortilla chips, i would’ve liked if they at least layered the toppings so i didn’t have dry nachos at the bottom. Drinks were made very well, no complaints other than the pricing. Service was meh, but they only really had about 3 people working so I understand. I would have liked to have been immediately met with a server so they can explain how to order and where to give in the orders. I was waiting at my table for a while before i walked to the bar and gave them my order, i thought they would have come to my table and picked up my order. Great atmosphere, a place i would definitely go back to just to hang out at, they make you feel very comfortable and welcomed. Definitely a place to go to and try!

Solera is a new speakeasy-style establishment located within Tabula Rasa, offering a sexy and subtly nautical ambiance. Accessible through a bookcase in the Tabula Rasa hallway, this narrow yet stylish space features well-balanced cocktails and a selection of pinchos, including luxurious tinned seafood like razor clams from Spain. While some patrons experienced slow service, many found the overall experience outstanding due to the cozy atmosphere and delicious food.
Very cool atmosphere if you're looking to try something different. The decor, lighting, and general ambience lends itself to great conversation for an intimate evening or special occasion among friends. Book ahead! The craft cocktail menu has a wide variety of different options. Had delicious oysters and an amazing samosa. Great location to check out in South Osborne.

An intimate hidden gem with an elevated charm. The oysters were exceptional—very fresh, and the cocktails stood out for their originality and top-tier quality. You can enjoy the full menu from the restaurant upstairs, and every dish we tried was truly outstanding. Their sourdough bread is made in-house every morning & we were lucky enough to take a few extra pieces home with us - it was so delicious!

Amazing service in an ambiance of calm sophistication and retro style. Great date night with craft cocktails to please the palate. It’s amazing how when you open your mind to something non traditional it can sometimes just slap you in the face and you’re left smiling: I tried a gin old fashioned. It was different, bold and amazing. I love gin for starters but didn’t want the “too sweet” approach. Our server recommended this and hit it out of the park. We also sampled a little food but it was great and I’ll be back for another taste soon!

First time dining experience and would highly recommend this restaurant. Menu does change without notice, but that did not affect our dining experience. Only made us want to go back again to try something new. This is one of those hidden gems we have in Winnipeg and a place we would take out out of town guests.

I visited Solera for the first time on a Friday, celebrating a friend’s birthday. We ordered 10-12 dishes and a few of them were so delicious we ordered a second dish. I tried 3 cocktails which were all absolutely fabulous and had top tier presentation. The space was very cozy, clean & beautifully decorated. Our service was fantastic thought the late evening. I can’t wait to return! Highly recommend.

Sometimes you're lazy and don't want to make your own fancy shcmancy cocktails. Let's face it, it takes a lot of ingredients and science. Solera fills that void. Creative cocktail menu (only snapped half of listing). Tried the Taro Milk Punch (no picture). Top notch! Lemon drop, Strawberry Daiquiri, Pina Fresca amongst a few others. Service was great from bartender who explained "the drink science" behind some of the cocktails. Decor vibes are eclectic mish mash of vintage flair. Definitely add to your google maps cocktail hopping map.

Great fun to be had in this little dive basement. Listen to some upcoming bands that all get a chance to play. Drink are priced well and the crowd is there to listen to music and have a good time. Do expect a seat unless you're there early.

Booked a night out to see the two pianists and reserved a table - got put in a part of the bar in which you can’t see the pianists and they would not devote a single TV (5 side by side playing the same game) to the show. Very disappointing. Did not come for sports games. Book tickets at the Basement to see these two properly, or give them the attention they deserve for guests who came to see them

Legacy Towers - Forthright Properties offers a pleasant interior ambiance that many visitors appreciate. However, the building's acoustics leave something to be desired, as sounds from upstairs can easily be heard throughout the complex. Additionally, parking can be a challenge due to narrow spaces, which has been a point of frustration for some residents. On occasion, snow removal hasn't been timely and litter around garbage areas detracts from the overall appeal. Despite these issues, Legacy Towers remains an inviting place to call home.
It's nice place

This complex is very nice on the inside. When I visited you could hear a child running back and forth upstairs. You can hear so much in that building on the inside. I don't know what kind of building materials they used but it certainly is far from being soundproof. The visitors parking spots are so narrow you can barely get into them, which bothers me a lot. There are several times recently when I came and the snow was not cleared out and the stuff all around the garbage cans is such a mess. You would think they'd have someone come in and tidy it up once in awhile.

(Photos taken after a few bites) Went on a busy night but server was still available and very kind, I love the variety of the menu plus the atmosphere and vibes are absolute fun. Got the chicken tenders, Alfredo pasta and chicken parm with rose sauce (get the regular sauce), good portions for good quality food.

It was a busy night so service was a little slow but our server was very apologetic. The Meatza Pizza was great but the Drunken Fish and Chips was incredible. I opted for the two-piece and the serving was gargantuan! It was one of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. We also ordered the dry ribs but it was too salty. I’d come here purely for the fish and chips and drinks.
Ar G — Google review
Very busy when we arrived at 6pm on a Saturday night but we only had to wait for the hostess to clean a table. Service was a little slow because of how busy it was. The food was good, big portions and came out hot. We needed take home containers. Lots of TVs with all the sports being shown, didn't matter where you sat you could see a TV.

Went here for dinner and some drinks. we were there for their weekend “special” which they didn’t have anymore two hrs before closing time, So they suggested an alternative “sandwich steak” i asked for medium well, our food took long to arrive and the steak was overcooked and dry and stale this was nowhere near medium-well. I ended up only eating my fries. Other than that the burger and drinks were good though i don’t recommend this place for their steaks, if you’re looking to get steak there’s better options.
Anghelika ( — Google review
We've loved this place in the past but our visit was so frustrating. It took awhile before anyone came to take our drink order, which is fine, maybe they were really busy, but everything just kept getting worse. When we ordered our food, we asked to also get a pizza to-go, and the server said they would send it in after we started eating. Instead, the pizza came out before our food even came! When our meals finally came we asked if we could get two waters, but they didn't show up until we were already done eating. No one checked on us during the meal, and we had to get salt from someone else's table. Usually if the food isn't good, it's not that big of a deal to us, but the fries were frozen crinkle fries and EXTREMELY stale and most of them were way over cooked. The pizza we got was supposed to be 8 inches but barely measured 7, we only measured because of how annoyed we still are. I will never go back.
Megan K — Google review
We reserved half of the restaurant for a bunch of small groups to eat. Unfortunately they were not prepared for us as the service was extremely slow. Our order was for 2 large poutines which tasted great but weren't very large at all especially given the $22 price tag. Also ordered was the 2 piece fish and chips. The fish was badly burned and was hard as a rock. The tartar sauce had no fkavour. No server ever came back to the table so I wasn't able to send it back and had already been there too long to wait even more. Also ordered was the wagyu dumplings, 6 for about $15. They tasted mostly like the strange sauce they were served in and we didn't enjoy them. After waiting even more I had to go find someone to give me the bill. I then found out that there was a generous gratuity automatically added despite there only being 3 people at our table. We ended up paying just under $100 for 2 French fries, 6 dumplings, some burned fish, and a forced tip without any drinks. I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

Great evening on the patio tonight. Kayden was amazing. This guy has a bright future ahead in hospitality. Best service I've had in my many visits to the GCB. Food was amazing, patio heaters kept the evening pleasant. Caesers were killer and was great to hear from him we could donate to breast cancer with the purchase of our Stellas tonight. Keep it up guys!

Well, all of Winnipegers knows this place ngl haha. They open late and offer reasonable price/deal as well for quick bite with friends. We went in with a group of 5-6 always and they always accommodate us friendly and quickly ! Highly recommend

I recently visited Johnny G’s on Main St. around 4:30 PM on a weekday. The restaurant wasn’t too busy at the time. I initially ordered the BBQ ribs, but after about 10 minutes, the server came back to let me know the rib plate wasn’t available. She kindly offered to replace it with the BBQ whiskey rib bones starter and added free chicken wings and a side as compensation. Of course, I agreed. The portion they served was generous—about 10 chicken wings, extra rib bites, and a platter of French fries. I really enjoyed the texture and taste of their chicken wings; they were delicious. The fries were crunchy and satisfying. However, I found the ribs a bit tough to chew and too spicy for my taste—I couldn’t even finish them. My two friends ordered steak but didn’t enjoy it. They found it tough to chew, even though it was cooked medium-rare, and overall, it didn’t meet their expectations. On the bright side, kudos to the server! She was amazing and attentive throughout. The place itself is decent, like any other pub.

We usually go to the McDermot location, but about two weeks ago, I went with my sister and brother-in-law to the Main St. location since that’s where they’re familiar with. I didn’t mind, as I used to go there as well. I gave the food 4 stars instead of 5 because I prefer the taste at McDermot. We all ordered medium-rare steaks, but my sister’s was much bloodier than mine and my husband’s, showing inconsistency in preparation—something we’ve never encountered at McDermot. Service was a 2-star experience. To be fair, it was a busy night, but we didn’t feel valued as customers. We had to ask for condiments five times, and even then, they didn’t bring them. Eventually, my husband stood up and grabbed the condiments himself from the bar counter, where they had just been sitting—no effort was needed except to bring them over. The atmosphere was a 3-star experience. Our table was near the door, with no heater to block the cold air. The washroom was also not accessibility-friendly—it was too tight for a wheelchair and an assisting person to fit inside. I held the door for someone, but they had to duck under my arm to exit because of how cramped the space was. Overall, while this location seems to do well in terms of revenue, the experience felt impersonal, more like fast food service rather than a welcoming dining experience.
Sarah L — Google review
I enjoyed the food and drinks here, but I was charged extra for the caesar salad even though it was included with the BBQ ribs. If it wasn't a mistake and they charge extra for the choice of side, they should let customers know about this.
CP — Google review
Ordered Philly cheese steak sandwich. sauce was a tasteless gravy. Sliced processed cheese for the sandwich cold when arrived. fries were crunchy and parts were hard and cold when arrived. The burger not very good. Caesar salad had store bought dressing no Parmesan and very small portion but was only thing I was able to finish. Do not recommend ordering any food from here. basic simple food was a mess. It's like they don't care and aren't even trying to make it tasty.
Shannon M — Google review
Milkshakes are very generous size and come in the steel can which is my favorite! I had 2 was thinking of having a 3rd but beforeI did I looked at the time. Too late. The Rib tips were odd. Half warm and tasty, half like they sat there for the day. The waitress, a slim beautiful Filipina girl was run off her feet but still managed to give a smile and try help everyone. Some people are clueless how difficult that job is, I'd say she did alright, if I lived here I'd go just to see her! Gorgeous girl! Parking sucked, no better way to say it other than that. They have security at the door so you can feel safer and he seemed like a decent dude, super friendly. I'll be back... and not only for the Filipina girl! Ha! It deserves another shot.
BC T — Google review
I always heard good things about this restaurant so I wanted to try it. I got the Louisiana chicken wrap which was underwhelming. I could make a better wrap at home In fact pita pit does a better job than what I got. Which was just small pieces of chicken, lettuce, mostly lettuce and sauce. No flavor at all at least at pita pit you get bacon a lot of cheese and veggies and onions. The fries were good after I reheated them in my air fryer they must have packy them when they were super hot so the condensation made the fries super soggy. The salad was super Caesar salad was plain no bacon, no cheese.

Walked in the rain and thought about turning around several times. Glad I didn't. Despite it's reputation for late night crowd, was pleasantly greeted, served quickly and with an abundance of pasta and exact cooked steak. Great food, out of the rain and got to see the end of the game. Who doesn't that.

The vibrant city ambiance creates an ideal setting to gather with friends and indulge in unique starters. Echo Restaurant & Wine Bar boasts an extensive array of wines, available both by the glass and bottle. Families frequented this establishment multiple times over the weekend and raved about the excellent food and service. The Greek chicken wings were extraordinary, while the steak exceeded expectations. The pasta appeared to be homemade and received high praise for its exceptional taste. The atmosphere was delightful, always tidy and well-maintained.
I had "The Hangover" burger and was not disappointed. I would definitely order it again, the burger was juicy and bun was soft.
Adam W — Google review
I can't say I plan to go back, due to the sub par food quality. Although the atmosphere was pretty good and the service was alright (though somewhat absent, and hard to get her attention), the food was far overpriced and lacking quality and flavour. I had ordered the chicken parm and I couldnt help but notice that the chicken was very dry (cooked ahead of time perhaps?), and the cheese on top was oddly tough to cut and did not seem fresh. Added to that, the tomato sauce seemed very bland, which added nothing to the already underseasoned chicken. I have not experienced that before so I can't even properly explain it. Quite a few members of our family had a similar experiences with their meals (especially the meat), one of them said that they have experienced this in the past as well at this restaurant.
Karoline G — Google review
Our food came out late and cold, but the staff were respectful. The dinning room is also next to the hotel’s waterpark and you can’t hear the kids screaming over even the music in the restaurant. Overall, was not a good experience.
Ginger M — Google review
Do not recomment- will not be returning as I left hungry and disgusted. The pasta was good but the portion was too small, and the hot wings were incredibly dry like they had been drying out all day under a heat lamp etc. The $20 calamari apetizer was very small and was mostly breading.

Came in over the weekend for some appetizers. Asked the server some questions about menu availability. Got kicked out and treated awfully by the manager for asking such questions. Never in my whole life have I been treated so poorly at an establishment. I will not be coming back. Professionallism and being courteous to customers clearly isn’t something this place cares about.

The food here is terrible, the server was polite if mostly absent. I was waiting to get a bill for a while. Place feels nice and has decent seating. The food tho, I ate here twice and the meat tastes like its been boiled and microwaved. The vegetables were old and overcooked. And its pretty overpriced

Our server Britney and the manager Ami went above and beyond to give us exceptional service. We were staying in the hotel and it was our little boy's 5th birthday. They made him feel so special by announcing it on the mic and got the whole restaurant to sing happy birthday to him. Then they gave him some complimentary dessert. It was a busy, crowded night there with the playoffs game happening, but despite that we had a pretty good time. Our table was off to the side, so we weren't in the midst of all the hockey hooligans, but our server was struggling with all the people she had to contend with that night. Eventually the service got better once she enlisted an extra set of hands, as we had a group of about 14, so it was a lot to ask of a single server when without the game.

Updated Aug 20, 2025 The staff are too busy chatting at the bar to notice guests arriving. The waitress knows nothing of the menu. Barely comes to the table and expect a 20% tip. No thanks. The fries are not as good as they used to be, and the menu is considerably smaller. Lacking good plant based options, should definitely work on that or else I will not be returning. Great service though. #bringbacktheoldfries #makemoreplantbasedoptions

Closed yet again on Sunday early. 5pm and we thought that it would be open before the game.( Edit) Apparently they opened 90 minutes later but by that point the 10 of us had made arrangements to eat elsewhere.
