The 25 best cake shops and cake bakeries in Manitoba

When you have few places that make cakes solely, you dont get much options, you have to visit, either your family asked you to or your peers. They know they have the right location for a restaurant so why bother on nice behaviour towards customer. Why train your servers to be gentle or "nice" to the customers. They will make money any way. I would not recommend this place for a sit in. Neither will I recommend the sugar filled overhyped cakes. Dig deeper in google, you will surely find other better options in Winnipeg. Enjoy your dessert, its just not the place to enjoy.

First time there and the place was a nice surprise. The cakes were good but not exceptional. Our party ordered 6 different cakes and our experience was 50-50. Three of the cakes were either dry or waaay too much icing. The service was a bit chaotic, we were told to sit and order at the table but took 15 minutes to get our order. The cakes did not come all at once and had to wait a good 5 minutes for the rest of the cakes to arrive. Drinks were good.

In from out of town and had to grab some cheesecake. It was quiet while we visited but there was a grab selection of cakes. We got a piece of cherry and salted caramel cheesecake. They were both good portions and tasted delicious. As with everything prices have gone up but felt that it was a reasonable price at $13 for a slice. We haven't been at the restaurant for a couple of years but there tends to be a large empty space at the front of the restaurant. It looks awkward and not very inviting.

Got the pavlova sliced cake and it was worse dessert ever. Taste -2/10 , got it for my daughter through uber, wasted my $25 for 1 slice. Wont order ever. Sorry not recommend. 🙁

This was my first time in a number of years and I was really disappointed. My daughter got a piece of Key Lime Pie and while it tasted what it was supposed to taste like I'm not quite sure why they were charging $11. If I had know it was going to be that much I would have left. $11 for a piece of pie?? That's crazy. I used to love going for Mocha Torte or cheesecake but as these prices I think that was my last time. Really disappointed.

This past Saturday was a celebration for a group of Saskatoon boys visiting Winnipeg for the Banjo Bowl. Our evening ended at Baked Expectations. Not only were the desserts incredible but so was the service. Our server was the cherry on top of our sweet evening with his cheeky humour, playful interactions and all-around fun service. Muchas gracias! Thank you very much for making our visit even more enjoyable. Bravo!

This place has cake magic. The variety of cakes is astounding and the quality is superb. They were gracious about a special request for a whole cake on short notice. The carrot cake is especially rich and good. My guests all raved about it. This is now a required stop for me for all trips to Winnipeg! No credit cards - this means USA Visa debits also do not work. If visiting Canada, bring cash!

This is the second cake that we’ve bought from goodies. we chose the 8” black forest cake for my brother’s birthday. The cake was dry, and there was barely any whipped cream/icing. The sponge itself, as I mentioned, was dry, pale, and didn’t even taste like chocolate cake (box cake tastes better). In my honest opinion, it’s not worth the $50

I went to Goodies to have my custom wedding cake done and it turned out much better than i have expected! From my initial inquiry to the final cake, goodies staff have provided me top notch, friendly, and professional service! My expectation to reality was met. 10000% percent! Exceeded if i may add. Also their cakes are amazing. And not to mention their price is 🫶🏼. Underrated cake shop!!! Get them cakes here!!

I ordered an Strawbery Peach cake to celebrate with my family at Aug 23, 2025 and scheduled to pick up on Aug 27, 2025. When I tried to cut the cake in the same evening, I found out the outer layer of the cream was craked, making the cake look like it had been sitting out for a long time and wasn't even fresh at all. Then, as I cut into the cake, I noticed that the cream and the cake layers were seprating from each other, which made the texture feeling off. On top of that, the cake it self was too dry which made it even harder to enjoy. What make things worse is that I found a black hair-like object inside the cake after I cut it. I've been visited this place before and had a good experience, but this time was a huge let down. I had hoped for a nice cake to celebrate with my family, but this experience was very disappointing. I was expected much better quality from this shop.

I ordered a custom cake for a bridal shower and it was a showstopper. The bride-to-be said her shower cake was sure to be nicer than her wedding cake! In my opinion, Goodies is the best in the city. They never disappoint.

Ordered a strawberry chocolate cake, but most of the strawberries had visible mold on them. Photos are attached—please make sure to check your food carefully before eating. Very disappointed with this experience.

Goodies Bake Shop did our wedding cake yesterday August 9 2025, and everyone loved how it looked and how it tasted. For me it was by far THEE BEST cake I have ever had in all my years. I recently bought two cakes for my kids' birthday party, and they were a huge hit! Both cakes were absolutely delicious and got rave reviews from everyone. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness. The texture was light and fluffy, making each bite so enjoyable. Not only did the cakes taste amazing, but they were also beautifully decorated, adding a lovely touch to the celebration. Everyone at the party loved them, and I’ve already had several people ask where I got them from. Highly recommend these cakes for any special occasion!

The atmosphere in this café is absolutely lovely — everything is beautifully designed, from the furniture to the interior details. It’s a very pleasant and comfortable place to sit and relax. The young woman at the counter was friendly and efficient.

We had place card cookies made for our guests for our anniversary dinner party. They were so tastefully done and everyone was happy to have a momento to take home or eat! Beautifully done Sweet Impressions! It made our evening even more memorable. 💗

It’s amazing - my twins are both allergic to eggs and nuts and fish and with this bakery I never have to worry about them not being included in the baked goods, they always look so amazing and I feel way more relaxed knowing the extra care for my allergens .

Recently ordered the themed sugar cookies for a retirement and the design and fonts chosen were perfect. Last year ordered cupcakes with mini cookie for a graduation celebration and they were delicious!

Us and our guests absolutely loved the party platter and pink lemonade cake. Many of us have allergies, but because of this company, we were able to partake in the sweets with everyone else. My bf also loved the custom cookie for his birthday. Beautiful and delicious! I can honestly say that Sweet Impressions is our go-to for professionally made cakes and desserts. There are very, very few options in Winnipeg for allergy-friendly bakeries, and this is definitely the best one!

Got a cinnamon bun and it went hard as a rock in 20 minutes. Not to mention there is barely any sugar/glaze on them at all. They should call them bread cinnamon flavored rolls.

Bakery had a very nice vibe to it inside! Seating outdoors is available, which makes it a nice day visit! The atmosphere and staff are great however wasnt a big fan of the high prices and quality wasnt the best on what we had ordered. Wouldnt return again as the cookies are bland and dry, kind of a let down.

Great food. Cookies not too sweet. Just right. Pie by the slice or whole. Good selection of breads including sourdough. It has a little market of local ingredients. Located in a hipster and area of character. Mainly street parking, which generally isn't too difficult in the residential mix area. Service is the only hindrance. I'd still return.

Now my third time shopping at this location. Always trying different items and never disappointed with the choices. Made fresh with local ingredients. It is one of the best bakeries in Saint Boniface. Follow the signs on the right as you drive past the gas station. Tall grass prairie bakery is located at the far end of the stores.

Amazing place with delicious food! This is now my favourite bakery in Winnipeg! Desserts are really tasty and without a lot of sugar (unlike in many bakeries in Winnipeg). The assortment is huge. But I came 2 hours before closure, so better to visit it earlier.)

I was visiting Winnipeg from out of town and I happened to come across this bakery on Google. I ended up going for breakfast. Overall, service was great, baked goods were fresh and delicious, and it was a great way to spend a calm morning reading a book and drinking their iced latte. I highly recommend it!

Biking thru this coffee shop many times so I decided to try them out. The line was crazy lol but staff was super nice and patient. I grabbed a matcha latte and a small bakery. It was super tasty and I will definitely come back next time. Keep in mind, there are not many seats tho

Small but mighty is the best way to describe this unique little bakery in the heart of St. Boniface. I have been a regular at La Belle Baguette for 3 years now ever since i moved into the neighbourhood. Every single time I come, I am met with exceptional customer service without fail. The girls are always smiling and getting to know everyone and making a personable lasting impression. The pastries speak for themselves but they are marvellous, every. single. time. With new feature items every month they keep you on your toes. They switched ownership to Empty Cup about two years ago and initially i was worried they’d clean house and switch the recipes, but to my excitement they kept a great thing great. Looking forward to many more visits to get my daily dose of La Belle Baguette.

This is my favorite place for baked sweets in Winnipeg. They have an amazing selection and are reasonably priced. Only thing to take note of is if you want to take advantage of their selection, show up early! La Belle Baguette is well loved and will occasionally run out of select items quickly, though if you ask them if they'll be making more of a specific item they will let you know and you can put an order to pick up at a later time.

Great bread and pastries. It reminds me of my time in Paris. It’s funny because this bakery is very similar to the good boulangerie in Paris in terms of space and how busy it is.

The food here is undeniably excellent. However, the customer service is severely lacking. Staff appear disengaged and unwelcoming—basic courtesies like eye contact or a simple greeting are ignored. One of the counter attendants was particularly unpleasant, showing no effort to acknowledge customers or create a positive atmosphere. Regardless of how good the food is, such poor service makes the overall experience disappointing. In contrast, Le Croissant offers not only great food but also genuinely warm and attentive service. The difference is night and day. Wont be coming back here anymore. Their service adds stress to my already stressful day. IF YOURE LOOKING TO BRIGHTEN UP YOUR DAY WITH A SIP OF COFFEE AND NICE CROISSANTS, DONT COME HERE.

✨ 5 Stars! I ordered a custom cake from Jenna Rae Cakes for my daughter’s 30th birthday. I couldn’t be happier with the result. I sent them a photo in what I wanted & they matched it almost exactly to what I was expecting it to look like. The cake itself was moist, the icing was creamy and not too sweet. Their attention to detail and quality was amazing on the flowers they placed on top. Thank you, Jenna Rae Cakes, for making such a special celebration even sweeter! 🎂💕

Alright, listen Jenna Rae Cakes… I wanted to like this place. I really did. You walk in, and it’s like stepping into a damn Pinterest board. Everything’s pastel, sparkly, looks like it was designed by a unicorn with a marketing degree. You’re thinking, “Wow, this is it! This is where dessert dreams come true!” And then you take a bite and boom! Every. Single. Thing. Tastes. The. SAME. I don’t care what you order cupcake, cookie, macaron it’s like they’ve got one giant vat of frosting in the back, and they just keep reshaping it into different forms. You drop fifty bucks, and you basically just bought the same sugar blob in six disguises. And don’t even get me started on the price. Seven bucks for a cupcake? What are you putting in there rent money? You could buy a steak dinner back in the day for that! And of course, they had to put a location at The Forks. Yeah, perfect spot! Let’s drop a luxury cupcake boutique right in the middle of Winnipeg’s sketchiest tourist trap. You’re trying to enjoy your overpriced macaron, and some guy’s out front yelling at a pigeon while another one’s trying to sell you “vintage” sunglasses he found in the river. You’re standing there, cupcake in hand, thinking, “What am I doing with my life? I just paid rent money to eat sugar in a place that smells like weed and goose crap.” I’m telling you, Jenna Rae Cakes is Winnipeg in a nutshell beautiful on the outside, total chaos underneath. Looks like Paris, tastes like déjà vu. Save yourself the trouble skip the $8 glitter biscuit and grab a donut from Robins for a buck. At least there, no one’s trying to charge you luxury prices for a sugar coma.

We were so disappointed with our cake from Jenna Rae Cakes. While it was beautifully decorated and looked stunning, the taste just didn’t live up to the hype. The icing was overwhelmingly sweet, and the cake itself was extremely dry. For the premium price, we expected much better. We’ve heard people rave about Jenna Rae for years and finally decided to order one for a special occasion—but sadly, it didn’t deliver. We ended up throwing most of it away. Honestly, a supermarket cake would’ve tasted better and cost a fraction of the price.

Kaitlyn was an absolute pleasure to work with & the cake Jenna made was stunning - exactly what we wanted. First time 'designing' a cake & Jenna did a great job of bringing it to life. Delivery & set up were seamless. It is a bit pricey - for custom work, it's reasonable, and does lean on the sweeter side, but deliciously so.

I've written reviews previously about Jenna Rae Cakes back in the summer for our 8 year Olds custom deadpool cake (photo below) and for our youngest son's first birthday cake in 2018 which was a custom land before time cake (also below not shown is his birthday cupcake). We just celebrated our youngest son's 4th birthday yesterday and had a custom mickey mouse cake made for him. These cakes are beautiful and delicious! They are incredibly priced for custom work and all the details that go into them. I admit we have tried other bakeries in between as we live so far away (2.5 hours to the closest jenna rae location) and honestly we have been disappointed and have had alot of wasted cake. We have now agreed to make the 5 hour round trip drive for our cakes to be made at Jenna Rae because they're so worth it! The cakes are a perfect size and we NEVER have left overs - which makes me kind of sad because we want more, we will either have to start sizing up our orders or eating less the day of?! lol! Some flavors will be sweeter than others - they're mimicking things like candy/sweets and the non baked good versions are equally as sweet but they're still so good - the deadpool cake was cotton candy - tastes exactly like cotton candy in all its sugary goodness! Their customer service team and store front staff are so friendly and helpful too! I can't say enough good things about Jenna Rae Cakes! Thank you again

I 110% recommend using Jenna Rea Cakes. The customer service is beyond amazing, they helped me out in a bind. Living out of province, the ordering process is so easy and they are so helpful if you have any questions. Not only did they totally exceed my expectations with the short notice but the cake and cupcakes wowed everybody. I couldn’t thank this amazing place enough.

Cute and fancy little shop at the Forks maket. Tried their cupcakes and cookies. The cookies were underwhelming, nothing special and overpriced. The cupcake I tired (salted caramel) was good although a bit too sweet for my taste.

Positives for our recent experience with Jeanne's Bakery on Notre Dame so I'll state those 1st. Customer service via the phone call to order pickup this past weekend, excellent. Cake was ready on Sat. & in my opinion, priced good for this day & age. There's no dispute for any increase in prices over many decades. So, we took it home & stored in a cool basement until Sunday, the day consumed. Note: we have NEVER purchased such cakes from anywhere BUT their Notre Dame location although we've seen them in stores. Now then, this cake as pictured. Fresh, blander than usual. Colour of cake is concerning since for many decades we've come accustomed to the dark chocolate cake look, similar to what a cheap box cake mix Devil's Food Cake would look like. This is fact, the cake used to be that dark. We once had a disappointing Jeanne's though and it was back when the original family owned it, someone appeared to have used the mixing bowl that contained a lighter mix (maybe for marble) and then failed to mix the dark in so it didn't even come out as marble but washed out chocolate. This latest cake reminds me of that and the chocolate or cocoa content was/is lacking. Again, it was fresh & that's a star for the bakery. The icing: it is what I've always known it to be, somewhat of a laxative. Many others share such an opinion & even back when the few generations of the Van Landeghem family owned it, it was always the case with the icing. So now the ingredients have changed for the icing (fact & had to change). A side note: an elderly neighbour now in his 80's & a retired baker who served in the Yugoslavian army for his mandatory 2 yrs, has told me on multiple occasions about what he was provided for food when on duty. Most of the time it was bread with lard & a little salt, if you were lucky. True story and also, had the effect that Jeannes icing has on many people. A positive: nicely decorated, the cookie base is somewhat okay but used to be "fluffier" or appeared to be more "airy" instead of the now hard-packed "slab" which appeared to be somewhat "shiny." Possibly the fat used & made it more "plastic" looking? Okay, so, in the 60's I had my first Jeanne's & prior to that our parents had them years before that. Over many decades we have had them for different occasions & even went so far as to just drop in and buy one off their rack OR order something for no occasion. Just past year 2000 & after Alan passed away we slowed it down & didn't order so much from this place. Our son went to school with one of their kids so we were actually quite faithful followers of this bakery. When Mr. Penner took over, we noticed changes and no matter what he says about doing it all the same way, it just isn't true. Over the years since 2003 we've definitely noticed inconsistencies with these cakes & each time we swear it's probably going to be our last time. Today is that time because for such a pale looking "chocolate" cake it failed & I suspect that either someone screwed up with the cocoa amount or this is par for the course & now a paler version? Since I highly doubt that a colorant is used in a cocoa/chocolate based cake mix, I have to question what you'ce chosen for cocoa because it's definitely weaker/blander than prior decades of product. I'm aware of the issues that many business who use cocoa in their recipes are having & costs HAVE skyrocketed but then again, cost to the consumer has also increased & I agree that it should anyway. I'm an admitted chocoholic, I love chocolate anything & even if it's very or too sweet. This one at the lighter colour is "weaker" and not very chocolatey in taste. "Weak" is the best word here & over the years we mistakenly ordered a marble one and found that to be more white cake taste than (of course) chocolate since it was in fact, marble. The p.s. before some changes that they might attempt to dispute: previously the interior cake WAS not far off from the colour of the chocolate shavings. 👏Stop 👏being 👏cheap 👏on👏 the👏 cake🙏. 1. It’s mostly icing now 2. the banana has no flavour. You will lose the life long customer base if it’s not the same and be gone forever. I only get direct from the bakery.

I come from a long line of Jeanne's cake lovers. 4 generations to be exact. Every birthday, every holiday, even when you just wanted cake, it was Jeannes. Over the past year or so, the flavor is just not there. The cake itself is uneven and leveled out with copious amounts of icing. I love icing, but the last couple times I ordered, the icing had an almost sour taste to it. I understand that things change and with rising costs, tarrifs and ingredient availability, it's difficult to run a business without some change, but these are not the cakes I remember. I keep buying them hoping for the cake I remember, but it hasn't happened yet. It would be a shame to lose a Winnipeg icon.

I dont live in Winnipeg but everytime I come i have to get a banana cake! Well I am here and just had one and was so disappointed they have definitely changed the recipe very upset!!!

I purchased a Jeanne’s bakery cake from Sobey’s this week, so this review is only about the cake itself, not the bakery. It’s been 10 years (at least) since I last had a Jeanne’s cake and I was so excited to have it again, being in Winnipeg after a long time, and I was quite disappointed! The cake doesn’t taste buttery like it used to, or have any flavor. Well, I read the laundry list of ingredients on the sticker, and what do you know, it’s just a list of the typical junky/cheap ingredients you’d find in any processed food. GROSS. No thank you. No wonder my tummy hurt after too.

I have had a Jeannes cake for every one of my 45 birthdays. My husband bought my cake for this year, straight from the bakery. It was absolutely terrible, inedible. Was supposed to be banana, my absolute favorite, it had no banana flavor and almost tasted like chemicals and left a terrible aftertaste. This will unfortunately be the last cake I ever buy from here. Also, there was a wierd cut in the cake when I opened the box.

I love this place, it's basically like another family member for us, everyone in my family (immediate and extended) have been coming here for generations ( I mean GENERATIONS I'm pretty sure my Nana was a customer of theirs from opening or sometime after, I would go so far as to say she probably knew or was friends with Jeanne and her husband Archie, I wanna say, I can't remember). I love the cakes and everything here. I gave 2 stars cause the service seems to have gone down hill majorly. Last year for my bday I stood in the store for 30 mins waiting for someone to come from the back, myself and another customer were like 👀 this is wild anyone could just rob them, or take a few cakes and walk out. It was so not the normal. Fast forward to now, I called to try and order a cake for my son's 1st bday, hoping to get him his own baby size smash cake but the guy (he is ALWAYS sooooo rude and condescending, I had to deal with him for my daughters cake years ago and I was just astonished! He was so rude to me, I gave in and said w.e just to keep the family tradition which no one should have to do, we are the customers, without us and our families this store would not be here this long, let's be real.) said no they don't do that. It's silly! How hard is it to grab a smaller bake pan and offer what your customers need for all ages!? I'm just super amazed that they aren't growing with the times. Maybe it's time to start a new family cake tradition. Or maybe it's time for them to take customizations from returning customers. I'm 38 and I've had their cake every year for my bday (except for the years we were in BC). I'm super disappointed 😞.

I have ordered many times over the years year as you can see from the photos attached. However my most recent order tasted great I was really disappointed by this companies service. My order was almost $300 in total and was 3 large bags that my partner was barely managing to carry out of the store, the store was empty and not a single person offer to even open the door for him. Our cupcakes spilled over because he could barely manage it all. They need to improve their service.

I have not eaten here yet, but I am watching the xmas special on WBTv featuring the owner and their cookies look and sound delicious. Crystallized ginger for themed sugar cookies is a great idea -- and I like the idea of the future of xmas being a celebration of diverse cultures under a unifying holiday spirit. Your imperial cookies look delicious and I hope someday to visit and try them.

Came here to buy some gifts and stopped in to try their cookies. It's a warm, inviting spot with a variety of different seating on the second floor. The person serving me that day was not very friendly (this was not service with a smile), but was very professional and assisted me with everything I needed. My favorite was the decorated with icing cookie. I think it was a sugar cookie. I could see myself having that with tea all the time. 5 stars I should add, I'm not usually one for this kind of cookie, so it has to be done well for me to like it. Their imperial cookies are also done very well, I'm just not a fan of almond extract. If you like it, it would probably be a 5, but for me I just don't. It's too strong of a flavor. Chocolate Peppermint sandwich Loved that it was like an after eight in a cookie form. Still, I need to be in the mood for this cookie. If I am it's a great choice Ginger molasses cookie peanut butter oatmeal chew cookie I prefer mine softer and larger. These cookie type was a flatter more dense version. Flavors on it were good. I wouldn't choose these for myself, but if you like that kind of cookie then you'll enjoy them. Raisin chew I liked this texture but I'm not a fan of raisins in my cookies. This choice was my friends Parking was available in front of the building for free on the street.

We love the pastries at High Tea Bakery. We’ve tried many different things from here and never leave disappointed. The cherry amaretto cookies are one of my favourites. From time to time for special occasions they will make “Petit Fours”, and they are incredible! They are a must try if you are able to get them.

High Tea Bakery recently provided cookies and dainties to a corporate event we hosted and I could not be more impressed. They were fantastic in setting up the display in our facility and made cookies and tasty treats that clearly reflected who we are. I would not hesitate to use them again and have already passed along their name to others! My only negative...my own fault, I did not order enough to keep some for myself. ;-)

While planning a trip to Winnipeg for my daughter’s birthday, we came across this place online and knew it’d be a must-visit on her special day. We pre-ordered a birthday cake (the carrot one) and picked it up when we went to the bakery the morning of her bday. While there, we enjoyed their great atmosphere, delicious tea and tasty baked goods. The staff made my daughter feel welcome and special on her birthday. Later that evening, we enjoyed the cake… dense, the perfect amount of sweet, and absolutely delicious! So glad we found this place!

Got my wedding cake made here over 10 years ago!!!🙂. Stopped in today for a coffee and treat and absolutely loved the upstairs decor. Great seating! Warm environment - they make it look vintage and pay tribute to the area being over 100yrs old.!! Definitely recommend. Love the crown molding and old touches.😍 The queen would be impressed 👏

We ordered from Lilac Bakery for our micro-wedding a couple weeks ago and couldn't be happier. We ordered cupcakes, and even the gluten-free AND vegan option tasted great! Kassey was great helping us with our simple plans, but didn't make us feel like we were wasting their talents. We were warned that the vegan buttercream melts on hot days... and of course we had an outdoor wedding when it was over 30C, so there were some casualties, but everything still tasted amazing.

Lilac Bakery did my wedding cake and it turned out incredible! I am so happy we went with them. They are so easy and kind to work with. You can tell they really care about doing a good job for their customers. I am so happy we supported their business. Thank you to the whole team for making our day so special in the sweetest way. 🤍

While searching for a place to order a wedding cake, I was recommended Lilac bakery. To test some of the cakes, It was suggested I order some cupcakes. Pictured left to right (top to bottom), I tried the confetti, salted caramel, vanilla, coconut, german chocolate, and strawberry cupcakes. Not pictured, I tried the gluten-free chocolate cupcake. I found the cupcakes to have nice flavors, with a not overly sweet buttercream icing, which I really like. My favorite was probably the strawberry, but the rest were really good as well. However, I found many of the cupcakes (except the chocolate batter ones, which were moist and fluffy) were quite dense, which may be from overbeating the batter (an easy fix with some quality control). The shop itself is very cute and clean, with nice staff.

We had the pleasure of working with Lilac Bakery for our wedding cake last weekend. Kassey executed the vision we had so beautifully. It was very easy to communicate with them as well. Beyond thrilled to have had Lilac Bakery cupcakes at our wedding! We did their classic snickerdoodle and a custom cherry cupcake with white chocolate buttercream that were to die for! I just picked up my annual Easter Babka. It is light, fluffy and moist. The best I have had! Still the best bakery in the city.

Ordered a cake slab for 50+ for my daughters bday. Asked for Bavarian filling and got vanilla.(unless the filling has declined that bad) Disappointed as it was the main dessert and it was too late to do anything in the moment. Please triple check next time before an order goes out. Was Really looking forward to it as it was always a hit and better than the grocery store chains.

Unsafe and unclean. Management are unprofessional and allow conditions to become repugnant. I had to walk out and call Manitoba health and agriculture to make them take safety of their customers seriously. I witnessed a baker bleed into hamburger buns (amongst other things) and those buns were sent out to the restaurant. Mold on all equipment. Rats inside the dishwasher.

UPDATED REVIEW: Our family loves the baked goods at Gunn's bakery. We moved an hour away in 2018, so our visits have decreased. In fact, we haven't gotten anything there since before the pandemic. We were so looking forward to some Gunn's, so I ordered a dozen cream cheese danishes. Opened the box and they looked lovely. However, when I saw the undersides, they were all burned. We have shopped there hundreds of times and this is a first. Really unimpressed at the quality. I do have to say thanks to the person who let us in to pick up the order 5 minutes after closing. My son had his braces put on and the appointment took longer than we expected, so we were a few minutes after closing. Thank you for that! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I love their cream cheese danishes! Love this place! The cinnamon buns are the best I've ever had! For food, they also have soups and sandwiches. On Fridays and Saturdays, they prepare wood fired pizzas. There are also several prepared foods to heat and serve at home. The service is friendly! There is a power strike button for accessing the front entrance and an accessible washroom. The window ledges have plants lining them and there are several hanging plants. There are fairy lights that are likely on when it gets dark. The atmosphere is bright with daylight.

Love the Menno Pizza! The flavors are savory and delicious. Can't wait to try the others. Note that their pizza is only available on certain days. I recommend the house made ice tea. Love the interior design of the place as well.

I went to the bakery around 12:25 and ordered a coffee and two honey lavender treats. After paying, I decided to switch one for a date square. The girl at the cashier was incredibly helpful and professional she made the change with a smile even though there was other costumers and the bakery is busy, and it truly made my day. Best bakery in town!

The quality of the ingredients (organic, glyphosate free) is so refreshing & delicious ! The sourdough is on another level, still need to try the pizza, and can’t wait to be back to try out everything else on the menu

When you want healthier bread, fresher bread and uniquely tasting well balanced leavened baked goods, each and everyday - Hildegards is where you step into They use a lot of various older techniques and grains that require more hardwork, persistence and perseverance in a consistent manner to make what they make and they do the heaven of a job at it and their breads are just heavenly. My absolute favorite is always the foccacia, then followed by the spelt followed by the scones and the rest. Their soup and toast are something that one should have once and they make some real good pizzas when they do. Lovely bunch of hardworking people making the best of what they make. June 2023 edit: Finally here at the right time and place to get hands on their Pizza and oh my god are they delicious + if you choose their sourdough crust it just elevates the whole pizza experience. Having it made in wood fire dome oven gives the pizza that nice bubbly crunchy crust + not to discount their well made dough. Their pizza toppings and ingredients are clean and nice and the pizza tastes really well. We tried the Manitoberrean and Spanakopizza; their menon and pepperoni funghu and cheese funghi and deluxiest and red pepper popeye they all also sounds great, but those will for some other time. thank you to you all.

Not the best desserts I’ve ever tried. Each piece costs almost $7, but is really small. And, unfortunately, all of them tasted like there are too much butter inside.

I live across the city but I would always make the effort to stop at this bakery when nearby. I love so many of the fantastic bakeries we have all across the city. Yesterday I ordered 3 pastries, a chocolate brownie, creme brûlée and a loaf of bread. The pastries were all disappointing. Croissants were not flakey but chewy. The brownie was definitely stale. I threw it away. It’s sad that this is not the place it once was. I did not know it was under new ownership until I read other reviews. But I would say the sourdough bread was absolutely fresh and still warm! It was not up to my normal expectation for sourdough… but was very good bread. We have such amazing places here in Winnipeg that any business will face some stiff competition from other bakery’s. The expectation coming into a small place like this is that it will be fresh, and an authentic experience. I doubt I will be back.

Picked up a dozen macaroons yesterday, unfortunately some were quite stale. The ones that were fresh were good but very disappointed - haven't been to the bakery for a few years. The store is lovely with lots of tempting items. Will pass on macaroons though going forward if I return

Always have the best baked goods here! I am especially a big fan of the éclairs au chocolat and the petit pain au chocolat aux amandes. The atmosphere is really cozy and the staff are quite kind. If you want to imagine you are in a bakery in France, this is the place to go!

I looked forward to my 3rd croissant this week (Carb loading). I was unable to finish about 40% of the croissant as the ends were inedible This Bakery had plenty to offer- infact, a heaping Pile amount of croissants. Which I initially was pleased with... ...It's rare to see that quantity at the hour, compared to other French bakeries in the city. I Personally judge a French Bakery by the quality of their Croissants. I hope to see future reviews that reflect a better experience than my own. Side note: Perhaps they offer a medium-rare option that I was unaware of.

Good pastries, though you may have to go earlier in the day to have a full selection of pastries at A l’Epi de Ble. The restaurant had a great ambiance to it. Quiet, quick, and has convenient parking spots. You can run in and grab something quick, or sit down and enjoy the food. Most items were not labelled or priced. I had to point to what I wanted to the cashier. Additionally, drinks were not for sale, or not shown in a counter.

Tasty was great, not soggy, and not too crusty. It's not too pricey. Price to quantity and quantity. The ambiance is nice. It's definitely worth a try. Too sweet first bite will make you feel heaven. The next one can take you there, haha, overall 9.5/10. 0.5 deducted if they had a cinnamon powder option.

The pretzel are amazing as well as everything else. The cakes are flavourful but not too sweet. And the sandwiches are simple and delicious on there crusty buns!

For the german breakfast: dry outside of ham and cheese. The "german" bakery and no german bread quality. Too soft I will not recommend it

First time here. Tried the turkey sandwich on the roasted pumpkin seed bun. It was fresh, tasted good, and had a nice crunch. I highly recommend giving it a try. I also tried some sweets (black & white cookie, jam buster donut, train track etc.) and pretzels which were also very good with homemade ingredients. This location is neat as you can see the bakers as they work through a window. I would go to this bakery again.

Mr. Big Nip is classic! My husband's first time going to a Salisbury House as he is American. We ordered the chocolate dipped donuts slightly heated to start....I love the Cheese nip as I like grilled onions, and I always add in an extra sals sauce for my fries! I even like their coleslaw. For desert, the classic Red Velvet cake and the wafer pie! Thank you for not changing your menu and always serving up delicious food!

It’s more like an American diner for those who haven’t been there, like Denny’s. Food is consistently good, though not great. Service this past weekend was stellar. Nice place, clean and tidy, with good prices. Some are fancier than others, this one is pretty normal. Large menu and they butterfly their sausages. Only place we have been that does that. Another go to spot for us in Winnipeg.

I visited on a Sunday morning a couple off weeks ago. The eggs benedict were tasty and filling. My server was friendly and attentive. The menu was quite extensive. The decor was nice with all the nostalgic photos and posters. Not being a local the significance was lost on me, but it was interesting to see the local pride and history.

March 2023 I wanted to try this restaurant as it has been in business since 1931, and known as a Winnipeg institution. Large menu, and great prices. Not a fancy place, but the food is good. Nostalgic interior with posters and memerobilia everywhere. On the menu is a "silver" section for meal deals for seniors. For $15 or less, you get a non alcoholic drink, your meal, and dessert. That's quite the deal. Our waitress that day wasn't the best. Non attentive, and unfriendly. At one point, we thought that her shift had ended, but she for whatever reason was not serving us anymore. Weird! Yet, we then saw her working behind the counter. We had to ask a different waitress for the bill. No asking us if we were interested in ordering dessert. They are also known for their wafer pie which is like flapper pie. A graham wafer crust with a custard filling topped with meringue. Upon leaving, perhaps the Manager, was super friendly, customer oriented, and made up for the negative experience with our waitress. We enjoyed our meal, despite the poor service, and our exit because of the Manager. I love restaurants with a history like this one. Not too many like this place exist.

Great experience!! The food was sooo tasty and the server threw in a free piece of pie because it was our first time. Sides and fries and drinks were perfect. We stayed until close without realizing it and she was so sweet until the end and didn’t force us out at all.

Light, basque cheesecake is not too sweet. Very good. Lemon Raspberry Tart is also an excellent choice. I liked they used a softer buttery crust than the usual hard crust at most places. Unique combination of flavors like bacon, fig jam, goat cheese croissant. It's a busy place in the Exchange District. The desserts tasted pretty fresh. Take out place or outdoors on a nice day. In-out. Update (14/06/25): Went again, but this time for cupcakes.

On the weekend, we visited your establishment, it was very nice from the outside, but when we entered the inside, it smelled very unpleasant. It is a very small establishment in the middle and there is no place to sit down to enjoy dessert. There was a very small selection of desserts, we chose a lemon leaf dessert which was very tasty and the children chose a colored meringue. Would like to try your Suprême.

We have to wait for about 25 minutes as other customers were really taking their time chatting and eating their food. We were encouraged to order before we got a table so we had to wait while they're working with our food. The cafe only got 6 tables and some customers even if they're done eating they're taking the time hanging out there. I recommend to call ahead of time to check if there's table available if you don't want to wait. The eggs Benedict was not bad we like that they used scones. I was turned off by too much mustard from the Croque Madam. The egg salad sandwich was okay, I'm not a fan the tomato. The cakes were disappointing but I like the chocolate mousse ball, out of all the dessert we got that's the only one we liked and recommend. I don't recommend the red velvet cake. I find the bread bland but it was okay. It was a hit and miss experience for us.

Bakery items are 5/5! Breakfast menu is about a 3/5 (good, but not their strength). Partial service - order at the counter and find a seat if dining it. Someone will run the food and drinks to your table. Baked goods are where they really shines - so many delicious items. I’d come back for lattes and baked goods on the regular.

Cottage bakery is located on Pembina Highway in Fort Gary. It is an absolutely great place to stop by for lunch or a quick snack. They offer many things, including poutine, fries, burgers, but they specialize in sweets and pastries, including cookies – oatmeal, chocolate chip as well as lemon cake, apple strudel, croissants, and many other pastries. Very high-quality bakery overall. There is seating inside for about 20 as well as an outdoor patio. There is free parking outside and the staff is very friendly. Overall, I highly recommend.

I was so stoked to go here on our recent trip into the city because the food and desserts looked beautiful in the reviews I'd looked at. But none of it was actually tasty. Like I got a mini pie and it was 90% crust and not even good crust. I got a little tiramisu inspired orb and it had an inch thick lump of chocolate in there distracting from the flavors and textures of the marscapone etc. My spouse got a carrot cake he said was strangely bland, worse than grocery store carrot cake. Disappointing. The employees were all very nice and efficient. And a really good thing was that they don't fill the bathroom with chemical fumes like fragrance or deodorizer to hide stink they just ventilate with a nice strong fan (though I think I saw a can of spray so if the person before you uses that, might not be safe after all). If you get migraines, asthma attacks etc from the fumes in most restaurant bathrooms this might be an important enough factor to lure you to Cottage! Clean air is very valuable! And the food's not gross it's just not awesome. I might go back, with lower expectations. OK food and at OK price with no unhealthy fumes, not a bad choice.

Just discovered The Cottage Bakery. As a sweet treat / dessert / all bakery items lover, this bakery is a 10/10. The staff were knowledgeable and really friendly. The atmosphere is variable it could be that nice quiet place to go relax have a coffee & bakery item / read a book / catch up on some work, it could be that really busy place that is 100% worth waiting in line to get what you came for. I’ve been here multiple times and I can say that I never come out with just what I originally intend to get. Their cupcakes are the best ones that I’ve had, especially the cookie dough one, they’re not dry at all and just the perfect sweetness! The cake drops and cookie dough bites are also incredible! It’s so hard to resist not getting all of this whenever I visit because they’re so delicious!

Ah-Mazing cupcakes. We ordered two dozen (Dark Chocolate Raspberry, Cookie Dough, and Baker's Choice) for a family celebration, and the cupcakes were a massive hit. So moist and delicious, and you can taste what each cupcake is supposed to be!

A truly amazing little bakery! Carmel pecan apple pie, just brilliant. Cinnamon buns better than Tall Grass. Tried a new one this weekend, a Kiev torte which is such a blend of different flavors and different textures.

My partner has Icelandic heritage and has told me about Vinaterta. We were visiting Gimli and saw that Sugar Me Cookie Boutique offered it. It was the first time I have had it so I can’t speak to the authenticity, but the raspberry Vinaterta was delicious. It is surprisingly light tasting considering how dense it is. (I have the traditional version waiting in the fridge for me to enjoy later)

Very pleased with our wedding cake! After being utterly annoyed with the customer service of several other bakery’s we decided to give Sugar Me Cookie a try. EXTREMELY HAPPY WE DID! The cake tasted amazing and the price was very reasonable given we had a 3 tier cake that looked like a Birch tree. Great customer service, no BS unnecessary “taste tests” where they charge you like so many other bakery’s do. We came in, tried some free delicious samples, talked about what we liked and they made the order. We picked up the cake on our wedding day and were beyond impressed. Save yourself the frustration and get your wedding cake here!

Such a friendly shop keeper who greets you with a smile and let's you browse in comfort. There is a variety of tasty treats here -something for every taste bud! From traditional Icelandic Vínarterta to cupcakes, prepared soups, bagels, pies, hot chocolate bombs and more! Conveniently located across from Hidden Treasures along the main road, there's a parking lot adjacent as well as plenty street parking. You can also easily walk here too...from the beach! My first visit to this delightful shop of sweetness. Me. I snarfed (NOT all at once): ✔️ an Espresso Butter Tart ✔️ a Pecan Butter Tart ✔️ a Coconut White Chocolate Butter Tart Sufferin’ succotash!!! They are ALL WINNERS! My fav…Coconut White Chocolate Butter Tart! 🤩 Pastry is excellent - light with just the right amount of flaky and fillings are tasty as well as visually appealing. Thanks Butter Tart Lady for all you do to create these delicious morsels of sweetness…you are on my “Must Visit” List for Gimli 😊

Love this bakery! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The imperial cookies are delicious, soft and just the right amount of sweet but the real gem is the vinetarta. They've put together a small sample tray you can pick up in store that is perfect for those of us that can't decide on a flavor (but the original and the rhubarb are always a sage bet) Definitely a must stop in Gimli

They have everything, gluten free pizza crust, imperial cookies, butter tarts, holiday specialty cakes, pies, cookies, frozen soup to take home, muffins, apple turnovers, Vinarterta, and the list goes on! If you have a free minute, go there, and check out their newest items!

I love the freshness of this place! I'm a croissant fan and this place makes amazingly crusty and flakey croissants! They also serve breakfast croissants! The only downsides to this place is that it's open only 5 days of the week. But in some ways it's good because it keeps people craving it!

What a great selection of baked goods! Bright and clean shop, friendly and helpful staff and great tasting goods. My personal favourite is blubbery scones with rosemary. Would never think of it is a good combo and probably wouldn’t try if the girls there didn’t recommend it. Thank you! It’s so yummy!

Building is now listed for sale, so safe to say it's permanently closed. If the original owner reads this: thank you for years of wonderful bread. It's too bad the more recent owners let it go (and didn't communicate in a forthright way to customers about its status and closing). One star really means N/A.

I have been a long time customer of Pennyloaf Bakery. I have found since the change in ownership the quality control and consistency has gone downhill. It is still worth a visit and I still shop there. However, it is no longer my automatic go to for a good loaf of sourdough or pastries. I am not interested in the new product lines and cafe. I also find since the change in ownership, all orders I have called in for pick up have been wrong on arrival.

Pennyloaf is one of my favourite bakeries in the city. They are one of the few places that I have seen with traditional sourdough.

The Pennyloaf offers such an amazing selection of delicious breads and pastries. The crust on their bread is delightfully chewy and the loaf itself is consistent between batches with its light and airy middle. They always have such an amazing choice of both savory and sweet options. My two current choices are the vegetarian pocket and the chai scone. Overall my favorite bakery in the city. Update: The bakery seems to have undergone a change. Both in feel and in quality. The bread is still good but the ambience and the service has gone downhill. The pastries also seem to be more dry and not up to the quality as before. They've launched more products such as: croutons, meats, sandwiches, coffee, etc. This change in products also feels like they're trying to be a little bit of everything rather than excelling at one thing.

We ordered a social package from Harvest for our recent wedding social. Everything was excellent — the Winnipeg-style rye is perfectly SOFT — and the price per person was very reasonable. We ordered for 200 and had some leftovers. The portion per person is clearly generous. The ordering process was easy, the pickup was smooth, and they packaged all the bread, meats, and cubed cheeses well so they were easy to put on platters. The reusable bags provided to carry everything was a nice added touch. We'll definitely get further use out of those. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Harvest to anyone looking for tasty and classic Manitoba social food.

This is by far the best Bakery in Winnipeg. Really great bagels, Monday is the best day to get them as they are on sale. Lol. Always the best selection of fresh breads and the best cinnamon buns. I have been an customer for over 40 years and never get tired of the aroma inside. I have friends that live in BC and they always go there and stock up and take a suitcase full back with them.

My son ordered a social package from Harvest for their recent wedding social. Excellent social food package — the Winnipeg-style rye was fantastic. They ordered for 250 for a crowd of 300ish and had some leftovers. We should have ordered more cheese but everything else was more then enough. They had lots of bread leftover and a pack of salami. Bonus for the leftover bread cause we loved it and now have some in the freezer to enjoy later. Nice bonus, they pack everything into reusable bags to carry everything, Highly recommend Harvest Bakery to anyone looking for tasty, classic Manitoba social food.

We ordered two trays of sandwiches, cheese and dainties. The dainties and cheese were good, but the sandwiches were gross, too much mayo (some sandwiches were dripping with mayo) and the lettuce was wilted and brown. We had so much left over because no one would eat them, what a waste of money.

Friendly staff, and great selection of fresh buns. We shared half of each sandwich. We really enjoyed the Italian sub, but found the roast beef quite fatty and sort of bland. Potato salad was great.

I was hosting a backyard event for a special occasion. Harvest Bakery was able to make me a custom image cake that blew my expectations. Not only did it look great, it tasted wonderful. I was also looking for sausage buns. Right when I walked into the bakery, the buns (a large verity) were sitting right there waiting for me. They were a hit with the bbq’ed sausages. Got so many compliments on the bread. Will be shopping and doing all my custom image cakes with them in the future.

Good selection, a little pricey but it is a small store with great staff so it makes it worth it.

Stopped in to check out some Dutch baked goods which I enjoyed. As well, finally found a place that sells halvah. Saw an assortment of meats, including blood sausage which I will be back to try. Restaurant hasn't reopened yet.

Been looking for great mom and pop breakfast place in Winnipeg, I'm happy to report I've found it. The food quality it top knotch, prepared excellently and is super tasty. I'm not a sweets in the morning type, but their cinnamon toast is just so stellar that I am a convert. The other stand out for me was the bacon. I should also point out the staff, who are friendly and attentive. This is a hidden gem. Loved it and plan to make it a regular destination.

First time trying out The Bake Oven, ordered through Skip. We ordered the Battered Haddock w/ Coleslaw and a Reuben sandwich w/ Fries. The battered haddock was delicious, did not smell fishy, the batter tasted great and not too heavy. The tartar sauce was top notch and house made. The coleslaw is one of the best I’ve tasted, made with fresh dill. You can tell the coleslaw was made in house and not with store bought dressing. HOWEVER. We were extremely disappointed in the size of the Rueben ($9.95) which did not come with any sides. Just the sandwich. Judging by the price we expected the sandwich to be quite substantial. $10 would get you a 12” foot long. The meat to bread ratio was disappointing for a Rueben and we did not feel like we got $10 worth of sandwich. See pictures and judge for yourselves. Otherwise it tasted good and the pickles appears to be made in house as well.

As always this is a fantastic little Dutch store with a fantastic Dutch café. The place is always clean, food was excellent and the service was quick, even though this time they had a large group in while we were there. The staff is always friendly and tend to all of our needs. My Dutch mother loves this place, they have may products she has only ever seen in Holland.

What used to be a 5 star review has gone downhill drastically since they changed owners and regular kitchen staff were replaced by ones that will work for less. The food is inconsistent at best and the service isn't that great either. Here's a picture of their eggs Benny...usually it would have a poached egg on there that's over medium but with the staff turnover they've been replaced with students that have no prior cooking/serving experience...

Indonesian poutine at The Bake Oven for lunch! Soooooo good! The Kroket Burger and homemade soup was really good too!

Lots of Dutch goods and great service! I have to go soon and get my chocolate letters. Just went again to get my chocolate letters for this year, some Gouda, drops and other favourites. I would go more but it is a long bus ride from my place. I bought some souvenirs also, because you can never have too many fridge magnets or decorated tiles.

Breakfast croissant was an interesting tasty take with the layers crisp flaky and buttery. The custard filled ones weren't crispy and flaky (likely the custard & possibly time since it's been filled), and they didn't skimp on the filling, which is a bit much overpowering the pastry - still tasty though. Had a drip coffee which was surprisingly good. The sourdough is similar to other Winnipeg bakeries but found the crust too tough and chewy. The crum had a good flavour and an airy texture. Overall a place to check out!

Very friendly service although I went in to grab their special which was already sold out when I came in. I bought a regular croissant and tasted really great. Flaky, lot of layers, good exterior and interior texture and tasted great. They also have breakfast options and sourdough breads

Gato Bakery has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, and I had high hopes for the menu since everything in the webite and FB looked so tempting. We arrived around 3:45 PM, just 15 minutes before closing, so that might have affected our experience. The croissants were just average, but I think it was due to the limited selection at the end of the day. We ordered the almond croissant, vegan sourdough croissant, and a danish. The prices are decent, and there’s a convenient parking area right beside the shop. The lady at the cashier was really helpful and accommodating, which made the visit pleasant. I plan to return during their earlier hours to try more of their pastries .

9.5/10 If you ask me for a hidden gem bakery+cafe shop, you best believe I will mention this bakeshop alongside others. It's an easily overlooked bakeshop across Sargent Ave. that's been in operation for 4 years—and I've just known about it this year. It's most likely because they have a inconspicuous sign that is pretty much invisible to me and many others. It's a sufficiently small place with seating for 2-3 groups or 6 single seating overlooking the window facing the road. The service was friendly and inviting, while adding a touch of mystery and excitement. The atmosphere was good, though not as exceptional as Cafe Nul across the intersection. Overall, it's a shop I would go to every once in a while, and definitely a must-visit for pastry lovers!

Amazing sourdough bakery. Definitely European crust on the sourdough. Not inexpensive but high quality. Many sophisticated flavor options. Beautiful breads and croissants. The fruit and nut sourdough was too hard to stop eating. The vegan potato croissant was an amazing savory croissant. Definitely recommend.

Highly recommend this bakery and cafe that specializes in sourdough creations using sustainably-sourced, high quality and premium ingredients. Their hot cross buns (got during Easter Sunday) were good too and not too sweet like the typical hot cross buns I’ve tasted. Can’t wait to try their other breads and pastries and desserts. I’m not a Vegan but they offer Vegan-friendly selections.

We tried one piece of lemon cake. Great! Soft, authentic lemon flavor but not creamy. There are many choices of breads and cakes, as well as soups and coffees. The cashier boy is nice!

Tall Grass Prairie Bread Company is located in the Johnston terminal at the Forks market. They offer a fresh selection of pastries, including muffins, cookies, cinnamon buns, scones, and many other delicacies. They have fresh apples as well as cold drinks, including juice, juices and milk. Great service and great food quality overall. I highly recommend.

I initially went to the Westminster store on the Thursday before Thanksgiving hoping to get two turkey dinners to go. While they didn't have any left, they were very helpful in locating a large turkey dinner. I went to The Forks and picked up a "large" which was huge and fantastic. It easily fed two. Every part of it was delicious, from the carrots, peas, and onions to the mashed potatoes, gravy, turkey and stuffing. All of it beautifully cooked. The turkey was moist and tender. We couldn't have asked for better. We heated the dinner in the oven as per instructions, with no fuss. I've always enjoyed their entrees and Thanksgiving surpassed all my previous experiences with Tall Grass Prairie!

One of the best bakeries in all of Winnipeg at the Forks Market in Winnipeg. The award winning cinnamons buns, to the many varieties of baked bread and the delicious pies - this bakery is amazing. This was always are favourite place when visiting the Forks with our family, friends and business partners. There are always people waiting in line or a steady flow of regular customers like us.

I have been going to the White House Bakery since I was a kid, so 50 plus years! I hadn’t been there for 14 years, and wasn’t surprised that it was just as I remembered, maybe not the aesthetics, as there have been some updates, but the food was delicious!!! Portions are generous, and prices are fair. As per usual, the cinnamon buns are definitely the highlight! I ordered Eggs Benedict which was fantastic. My son created his own omelette, my husband ordered the Breakfast Combo, and my daughter ordered the Breakfast Wrap, and they were all extremely happy with both the portion size and the taste! Then we shared cinnamon buns for dessert. Totally not needed, but enjoyed so much! If you have time for a leisurely breakfast/brunch/lunch, then I highly recommend you wait for a table. It will be worth it. If you are in a rush, then get in the take out line and grab a cinnamon bun to go. Dining service can be slow, but servers are friendly and very attentive! We can’t wait to go back again next summer!

We picked this place because the line was so long it seemed to go around the corner. figured it must be worth it. The food was fresh and tasty, with plenty of vegetarian options. Even though it was busy, service was friendly and quick. Glad we stopped by!🥰

Excellent cinnamon buns and vanilla lattes. Probably the main reason we drop in! We did try breakfast and lunch and the eggs Benedict with cubed hash-browns and a burger with fries were pretty good. This might be the main (or only?) breakfast option in the area. The interior and exterior seating appears to be only for sit down restaurant service so I think the bakery side is takeaway only. Very popular place as evident by how busy it often is! Occasionally crowds inside and outside, waits for seating and lines for the bakery, but the staff is on point and work quickly. Recommend going early, or waiting until peak breakfast time is over

So so grateful to Dolce for accommodating our request for personalized coloured icing for our Gender Reveal party! They made the ordering process so easy and created exactly what we asked for in cupcakes and cake pops! Thank you, thank you. We ordered four different flavour types of cupcakes and two different flavoured cake pops, and everything was equally delicious. The cake pops were individually wrapped to make it more fancy for the party. When picking up, the treats were neatly packed in beautiful boxes to make transport and display easy.

I should have read reviews before ordering, but since this place is not far from our house we just gave it a try. Before ordering whole cake we took sample pastries and taste of those was very good. So my daughter wanted strawberry shortcake and here is what we got!!!! So frustrating- ugly green text, breadcrumbs as decor? For real? Yes!!! So we yet to see how it tastes and I will update this review, but if you are looking for any design or decor NEVER order from this place!

Ordered custom cupcakes for my son’s first birthday and oh my gosh! Not only were they so cute, they were so delicious and not too sweet!! I showed them what I wanted and they brought it to life and so much better than I could have imagined! And the price was great too!! Definitely recommend and going to make sure they are my go to place for customs!

Wonderful staff, incredible product. Ordered 2 dozen cupcakes for an event and everyone adored them. 10/10, will shop again. The vanilla cake with lemon was especially divine.

Overall pretty good. Great selection and beautiful decorations. But....not as delicious as I was hoping. Crust was overworked, tough and too thick. Lemon filling was just whipped cream, not enjoyable. Brownie was too cake like. I'm always sad when baked goods don't live up to their image. I would go back try some more, but I hope they can put more love into flavour.

A wonderful variety of different pastries, tarts, and almost anything you can label as baked sweets. The service process is a little confusing- there should be a clear place to line up, select your order, and pay at the end near the door. To complicate things, people who are looking for a custom order for a cake, etc need to wait in the pick-up line. A girl came out of the back to see if the woman in front of me had been looked after but when she said yes she didn't ask me 😭 and went back into the back. The product is exceptional but the store layout needs some work to process customers faster. I'll be in touch.

The best place to avoid if you have allergies. They should consider themselves lucky I’m not demanding a refund—but if they had more than one location, I’d be at the second one making sure they never make this mistake again, along with demanding a refund for compensation. I ordered a special happy birthday cake and explicitly said: no chocolate of any kind due to a severe allergy. They said, “Of course.” So what did we get? Chocolate drizzle. I don’t care what kind of weekend they’re having—when someone ignores a serious allergy warning, that’s not a mistake, that’s negligence. And they’d better be ready to be held accountable. If they had simply made an error on the order, fine—I get it, busy weekend, things happen. But this? This is not something I’m taking lying down… or standing up. Do not go to this place. This was our last time ordering here, and I highly recommend making it your first time avoiding it.
