Honestly, it's one of the best Chinese I've ever had! Super tasty and authentic food, not too greasy and packed with flavour. Would definitely recommend the 'Chinese tea'. Only issue is that the portions were huge, so bring a good appetite!

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. We started with the spring rolls, which tasted like they came straight from a frozen packet—no freshness or proper texture. The prawn sesame toast came with three pieces, and one of them was undercooked, pale in color and not crispy at all. The lemon honey chicken was by far the worst dish of the night. The chicken was dry and tough to chew, and the sauce was thin, watery, and lacked flavor. We also ordered the sweet and sour shrimp as a main, but it didn’t live up to expectations either. The sauce was overly sweet, very light in color, and tasted more like a mix of starch, sugar, and water than a proper sweet and sour sauce—even as a dipping sauce it wouldn’t work. To top it off, the timing of the food was very poorly managed. Appetizers came out at the same time as the mains, and the soup arrived when we were nearly done eating. Overall, the food quality and service coordination need serious improvement. Not a place I would return to.

Cute place if you are craving some nice traditional chinese food. We were visiting the area and found this nice place on Google Maps. I am vegan so I asked for a nice tofu with vegetables dish. It was really tasty. ✨✨ The only con was the final bill, prices are higher then expected. Thank you✌️

The food used to be good and with large portions. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. £18.20 for a special curry, a portion of chips and a starter of deep fried chicken wings. As the picture shows for £6.50 you get 4 tiny wings, it's embarrassing that they think this is acceptable. The curry was basically full of onion with only 2 prawns and a few pieces of chicken and beef. They have let themselves down with tonight's takeaway. I appreciate prices have risen but for £18.20 it wasn't anywhere near value for money or good quality.

The food is nice, Good service and atmosphere. Can't give 5 stars because they accept cash only, which could be a bit stressful for customers. Having to walk down to town to withdraw cash. For everything else, they are spot on!

Simply one of the best Chinese restaurants in Hull the place is an institution! Delicious food for a fair price. Friendly waiter and a great atmosphere what more do you need. We had the crispy squid to start followed by vegetable fried noodles, roast BBQ pork and crispy tofu that was incredible. Lots of exciting options on the menu we will be back to try something different.

Tried real china for the first time today with my friend. The food and value for money were fantastic. Most of the dishes were turned over and fresh and each had individual flavours, my friends favourite was the curry and mine was the satay was gorgeous. Really had a nice time in a relaxed atmosphere and would definitely return. Couldn't go wrong for £14.95!

Food is lovely with plenty of choice. Staff are welcoming and always polite, the young lad clearing tables asked each time if he could take our empty plate away. The price has increased, we went for lunch mid week and it was £54 for 3 adults with soft drinks and you're now limited to 90 minutes (which is plenty of time for most people)

This is a budget-friendly Chinese buffet where you get what you pay for. I walked in without a reservation, and it wasn’t an issue. The cost was £17.75 for dinner and one drink, which I thought was reasonable, though you pay before eating. The selection isn’t vast, but it covers the basics. The table was a bit sticky and wobbly. The food was neither outstanding nor awful—the noodles were quite bland, but the duck pancakes were enjoyable. Overall, I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return

Value for my money with an unbeatable price. Tasty food I got a full course for just £13 with two drinks. A must visit whenever you are in Hull. It is located at St Stephens mall in the heart of Hull. A lot to eat for a fair price with seafood choices.

Went here for lunch, after a short wait for a table we were seated. The selection of food was good and well presented, tables were clean and staff were always available to take away dirty pots ready for the next trip to the buffet. Good range of food with plenty of choice so something for everyone. The desserts cake was nice and we left very full and ready for home.

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime. Arrived to find a queue of about 15 in front of us. 5 minutes later we were shown to a table because the people infront of us were waiting for larger tables (we were a party of 2) The staff were very friendly and cleared the tables promptly. The food was nice, not as much choice as other buffet locations - but the lower price reflects this. Love the refill drinks option! Would definitely go back if I was in Hull again.

Not the best experience. We totally understand that waiting time can be longer at busy times, however, I would be so much better if there was a french table with all the sides (rice, noodles etc) we were waiting for noodles over 25min, by the time we got it, the main dish was cold. Also the food was really salty, I mean I have never eaten black bean sauce dish that was so salty. Some chicken dishes like cashew nuts chicken were absolutely tasteless. I am only giving 3 stars as the staff was lovely and helpful.

We booked a table here yesterday - as we were due to see a show at the Back Room - seeing as it is the only restaurant Asian wise. We walked in, first thing I noticed was how tired the whole place looked, with two tables eating. Taken to the table, with 2 different menus, we were sat by the kitchen, where no food or smells where coming from it, the menu had very basic dishes, nothing of restaurant quality so we quickly thought oh no, this isnt going to be good. Bottle of local beer - £5.80! and I ordered a Baileys - £4.90 for a mouthful it's cheaper in London for drinks in China Town!! Food arrived, a chicken satay and beef in black bean sauce, it was the awful congealed gloop - that you would get warmed up from a back street takeaway. Took minutes to be warmed up , obviously not cooked fresh. Tasted bland and nasty. I feel sorry for the people of Cottingham - if this is what they have to offer. The pubs were also chavvy. Full of school kids, and people with pushchairs. Why Paul Tonkinson the comedian chose this village I will never know.

We had one of the special takeaways at £17 per person. This was undoubtedly one of the best Chinese meals I have had and the only criticism is that there was so much food we had three meals each of out it! The starters alone fed us Saturday night; the rest of the starters made lunch on Sunday and we had the mains on Sunday night - and there is still some for lunch tomorrow! Excellent food and certainly excellent value

Saturday night and it was absolutely bouncing at half 7! We were pre-booked and it looked to be the only empty table when we arrived. Groups of all sizes, waiters flying around with food or empty plates. What an atmosphere! It was an an order and eat as much as you want meal £29.99 per head. Round tables and turn tables in the middle to move the food easily around the table . A very large menu choice and everything ordered appeared quickly, was hot and exceptionally tasty! 👍 Too many to list! It's obvious why this place has such a good reputation! Had an amazing night out. Ate far too much! 😂

Not what you expect from a eat all you like, you cant even see any food or go get any and it is top price. This is a expensive restaurant at 27 each to and it is very controlled and crowded place. How do you be a eat all you like buffet but no food in site to select or even pick and the menu is diabolical for such a expensive place.

Finally tried fried milk balls for the first time and they were delicious. The rest of the food was great, also very filling. The staff were efficient and friendly.

Was pretty excited to eat here but left really disappointed. Meat dish portion sizes were suspiciously small for like £12-13. Food didn't taste great and service was lacking and disinterested? Could be that we just came on a bad day. Felt a bit out of place due to the service and other customers staring and making some unnecessary looks. Overall I wouldn't plan on coming back in all honesty.

The best Chinese in all UK! I have been to dozens of Chinese restaurants and this one beats all together! The food is just amazing and the staff is very kind and helpful, can't fault it in any way, love it! GO!!!

Sticky tasteless food with very small portion for the price. Chef special of stewed beef brisket, 5 piece of sliced of something, taste tender but nothing like beef. The vegetarian meal has 4 piece of Tofu instead of seafood but charged the same price. Get 2 star because the staff seems friendly.

This place is absolutely wonderful. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, there is such a comfortable atmosphere. We found this place looking for other places that make dim sum in the area and we are so glad we did as this has become our new favourite place. The waiter is really friendly and approachable, they are so attentive and so are the owners. You can tell they care alot about their customers and their food. The dim sum is made fresh on site by an extremely experienced dim sum chef that has come up to live from london. It is hands down the best I have tried. We were hesitant as it is situated near the busy bev road crossroads but there is a large car park behind, accessed from the side street on bev road and there are always plenty of spaces. No time limit and no parking restrictions. It's such an easy place to get to and it really is a lovely experience. The food is fantastic and the prices are really reasonable. Definately the best place to eat in hull. We will be coming back as often as we can.

Nice friendly restaurant. Was quite busy Saturday night and a popular spot for the local Chinese community which is always good. I had some Chinese vegetables and seafood on crispy noodles which was good. The chilli oil could be a lot hotter. Also a couple of drinks which came to just over £20. There seems to be a lot of Chinese uni students.

Very good authentic Chinese food. I was there with my Chinese girlfriend and some friends. She liked it, which is not always the case when we look for a good chinese dinner. Easy to find, take any of the buses going up or down Beverley Road, bus stops are nearby.

Stay clear this place .Just got mixed meat chow mein from ere was the worse chinese I've ever had greasy and not a lot meat and had prawns which i don't like ..the spring rolls was so greasy just fell apart ..bring back tiah who had it for years and years..such nice family and beautiful takeaway

Finger lickin' good grub! I hold this place close to my heart as it gives me memories of my great-grandmother's cooking except she's dead and I actually meant my grandfather except he doesn't cook but every now and then during visits he would arrive with a good bag of chinese that we'd split up on plates and gobble up. Bought a takeaway from here last night 19/4/25 curried Beef mushroom and it was absolutely disgusting the curry was not tasty at all and was like very thick curry powder to the point it was in eatable my partner also bought a king prawn chow mein that was stone cold apart from the prawns, to the point she couldn't even eat any of it we paid £18:00 for basically for nothing we have eaten from here in the past and the food was ok but we definitely will not eat from here ever again .

Well what can I say, the food tonight was awfull. The beef curry was thick and gloomy and tasted of salt. I also got a special satay, it has the smallest prawns iv ever seen. It just tasted spicy, not of satay. I wouldn't even have given it a 1 star.

I’ve been using Toms for about 5-6 years now and it’s hands down the best Chinese. The food is always fresh and hot, not greasy and tastes lovely. It’s always busy then you collect which is a testament to how good it is. Tom is also really friendly, great Takeaway.

Only started coming here, six months back, after trying numerous Chinese places over the years , wont go any where else now. All the meals weve had, not had a bad one yet, alas it doesnt do deliverys, we would of had more meals if it had . Satursdays , five oclock always has big queues . The chopstick house is a traditional Chinese takeaway. The menu's Mostly the same as other Chinese takeaways in the area. I had the chicken chow mein, the chicken pieces were a bit on the big side and a bit bland, there was not as much sauce or vegetables as I've had at other Chinese takeaways. The food was ok but it's not as good as my favorite Chinese takeaway.

After I collected my food for my wife and 2 kids we ate and my son was sick from food poisoning and my wife had the runns

Arriving at the restaurant we were treated by staff straight away. Payment made and we was sent downstairs to the restaurant. There was no queue (easter Sunday 4pm) we were shown straight to our table, explained how the restaurant worked and left to our own devices. There was so much choice, from English food, Chinese, Indian, sushi, Italian. Lots of choice for dessert too. Once plates were finished with, they were taken by the staff immediately. Fresh cutlery was left at the table if you needed them again for another plate of food. There was no limit to the amount of times we could go up and get another plate of food (4 plates later, and feeling fat). Again no limit on dessert, and plenty of choice for everyone. There was no rush for us to leave the restaurant, and by 5, the restaurant was filling up. We were there around 2 hours in total. There was even a robotic machine that delivered drinks to tables. Overall we had a lovely time, and would return to the restaurant again.

Excellent food from a plethora of cuisines. Roast dinner, sushi, curry, salt and pepper chicken and the list goes on. Such a lovely range that you'll be spoilt for choice! I suggest you should pace yourself as they have a wastage charge (I think that pretty fair). Cocktails are sometimes 3 for the price of two and I think you can mix and match so that's a nice unique thing if you are on a group and want different drinks. There's also a robot that waits drinks, how amazing is that! I'll definitely return when I'm next in the area (next year). Thanks

It was simply phenomenal. We came in at around 2-3pm in a party of 5. The line was not long at all and it took us about 2 minutes to be sent into the main dining hall. The atmosphere I can only describe as on another level. Everything felt like I was sucked into China. Especially with one of those robot servers. Everything was lined with wood panelling, even on the stairs, and on the end wall it had a long screen that went across the entire width of the room. I got the Satay Chicken, Beef in Blackbean Sauce, Garlic Mushrooms and Yangzhou Fried Rice. The Garlic Mushrooms included the addition of Birds Eye Chilis which elevated the dish to a whole new dimension. Everything else was your bog standard versions of each dish but 100x better. For dessert, I had some Ice Cream with some weird green jelly cubes which I still don’t know what flavour it was, and about 3 different types of crepes. This was not before I had gotten an entire pint of Pepsi Max from the bar they had. After an hour of straight eating gourmet level buffet food, we had left and I ended up noticing something I hadn’t before. That being what appeared to be a giant Transformer. 5/5 Would go again

Highly recommend 🌟 Wings is a popular all you can eat restaurant with a clean style and a solid option when choosing where to dine out. Great place to with any sized group. It is especially good with big groups as the diversity and quantity of food should be enough to satisfy everyone. Price: Not too expensive but can be dependant on your budget. Important things to consider: Drinks are not unlimited, they must be bought seperately. If you are with a group and haven't booked a table, you may be waiting for 30-40 minutes normally on an evening. Parking isn't in the immediate area. Closest recommended parking would be St Steven's car park (paid parking).

Good selection of food, loved the variety of desserts. My only complaint is as someone who struggles with sensory issues I would've liked there to be less veg to fill up dishes. Felt like every dish had peas, carrots, sweetcorn or onions in. So I struggled a little bit and know that I couldn't bring my kids for the same reason but the overall experience was a pleasant one.

Very disappointing, especially since I was excited. Most seafood was soggy and overly salty. Don’t get me started with the fruit, it tasted as if it had been sitting in its juices for hours, had to spit out most of it. Food is either bland or too salty, my stomach was very upset after finished eating. Staff told me about their food wasting policy, which would’ve been fine if the food was edible. Only decent part was the dessert. I liked the Ice cream but scooper was soaking in mucky cloudy water for lord knows how long! Also, the staff looked unbelievably unhappy, never smiled. Asked for a glass of water and was given lukewarm water and a frown, it was like I was asking for too much! Staff were helpful at first, but it was like they were watching you, felt unbelievably uncomfortable. I don’t usually write a review but after spending almost £60 I would’ve expected better service and food. I would avoid this place, could get better from a local takeaway.

Nice restaurant, well put together, well maintained and clean. Staff were polite and attentive. The food choice is varied and extensive, have "English" and Vegetarian dishes options. The service was at its best, not much wait. Food was served hot, tasted really really good, good feedback from.everyone around the table, even from the fussiest eaters. Had seen reviews that this is the best Chinese Restaurant here in Bridlington and now I agree. Definitely recommend.

First visit in May for a birthday meal and will definitely be back. Delicious food, attentive service and very clean restaurant. Perfect evening. On top of that, my daughter left her handbag and didn't realise (🙄), but Yips called me to say they found it and all items still in the bag, this was so lovely of them 😊.

We visited on 04/17/25z We were so impressed with the food, quality and service. We chose the £31 per person banquet so we could sample many menu items. Never had satay sauce as good as Yips anywhere !! There was such food, had to take home quite a lot. The presentation of each course was very good too. The staff were so busy, full restaurant but they work hard and efficiently. No undue waiting time amd super friendly staff with a great atmosphere.

Here for a weekend break, and found this little gem. I love Chinese food, and this is some of the best I've ever had, light fluffy rice, tasty chicken, amazing chow mein noodles, perfectly crisp prawn crackers, and NO fat anywhere.... delicious 😋 We had 2 takeaway meals consecutive nights.

The decor is dated, the carpets are old, the lady that served us was a bit sour faced....the food we ordered was on our table before we'd even put the menus down.....but did I like it?? Not often in Hull . So been a few yrs since having a meal here. Last time was fabulous, service, atmosphere but above all & most importantly the food was delicious. Booked for 8.30 , but obviously too late because really felt the staff wanted us in & out ! Must of been 3 to 4 minutes between giving the order & starters on the table. HOW ? Mixed starter inc. Ribs with no meat just skin ! The waitress, no more than 12ft from glaring & dying for us to finish. If she smiled her face would of cracked bless her. Between clearing the starter & bringing out the main , not kidding 2 to 3 minutes ! The food awful, duck stuffed with prawn meat, no taste of prawns, & parts of the duck that was over cooked in the microwave was rock hard , never seen so many raw tomatoes thrown over my partners & my main course. Singapore noodles, just a solid block. Clearing the main in a hurry saying do you want ice cream. Tables leaving & leaving food, when asked do you want it boxing all saying no leave it. While eating the main a guy hoovering ft from us. Having been there just an hour said to the Mrs think we better make a move. Framed newspaper clipping all over, yellow with age . Best chinese in Hull. There all dated around 2001 for God sake 🙄 The owners really need to start replying to a few of the reviews people leave. Picture of the duck stuffed with prawn meat. Or what it's spose to be !! Can't ever see us going back, but if we did, would ask to see the kitchen. If it's not busy you have a right too be shown.

We collected a takeaway from here today. It was awful all of it. The food was definitely not cooked today it tasted old. The chips were the worst I've received from anywhere. They were dry and old and some didn't even have potato in the middle. I even for a surprise mushroom in them. All this food went into the bin where China red should have put it instead of selling it to me. Never again.

Recommend by a colleague but I found my takeaway chow mein very oily and with unusual noodles, chicken balls were rather well done and served with cold sauce, and the battered squid with garlic had loads of onions but I barely tasted garlic. Usually I'd keep the leftovers for lunch the next day but I threw them in the bin. I can't recommend. Staff very friendly and efficient though. Perhaps the kitchen was having a bad day.

Not ordered from here in years as it’s a bit of a drive away but thought I’d treat myself as I used to love it. I wished I’d taken notice of the bad reviews as I was very disappointed. The special fried rice was that special it hardly had any rice in it and mostly sauce and a few chunks of meat. Chips were old re heated chips and taste like cardboard. But the piesta resistance was the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style with added hair. I felt sick and will not be ordering again. Such a shame the restaurant quality food has gone.

All I can say is what a weirdo place. The building itself is large and spectacular. The atmosphere is dead… literally. Maybe because for the size of the place we were the only two in it after a days working on site. Food is expensive but was nice a shredded duck to start for two, two rice dishes and two meat dishes and two diet cokes £81 . It’s on derelict land and feels like middle of no where. I don’t get how the costs of running it, it keeps open. It’s also cold in there and had to keep my coat on. It a place I just don’t get

The food is excellent and the place is massive, prices are high and the portions size is not the biggest so I don’t think you get a value for money but I understand the pricing as they have to afford to keep this huge space running, we had to wait about 5 min to get somebody to allocate us a table as on the reception entrance there was nobody, when somebody finally arrived they were friendly and helpful, they don’t have a drinks menu so you cannot check the prices and the selection, they have a wine menu which is a bonus, overall the food was brilliant but if you’re on a budged then I will not recommend it.

One star taken off for the 20 min wait, one for the price of spring rolls. Another for quantity & with no meat at all. The two stars are for the friendliness of the staff.

Honestly has weird opening times and a outside that feels dead and abandoned. The food itself is passable but isnt 'that' interesting or great but the worst bit has to be the service with a rather snippy server, who would consistently leave my mother last for ordering and serving. They brought incorrect drinks and were overly rude and dismissive throughout the entire visit. Dont think I will go again.

I went for a quiet meal with two friends and my partner for my birthday. Lovely surroundings, lovely view and very hospitable host and staff. Prompt service. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent choice of food all beautifully cooked and presented. Excellent value and I was given a bottle of wine as a birthday gift. I would definitely recommend. The future looks good for Mr Chu and his restaurant. Lots of plans ahead for his restaurant.

We had a lovely meal at Mr Chu this evening. Opening hours are clearly marked on the business page on Google. We called and booked a table but they had plenty of space if you just wanted to walk in. it was really excellent service, we couldn’t fault it, with all of the staff being friendly and efficient. I went with my husband and son for an end of month payday treat. We had the banquet for two and a chicken chow mein. It was ideal for our son to try a little bit of everything. There was plenty of food and we couldn’t finish it. It was excellent value for money. Overall, a lovely experience.

We stayed at an BnB in this area in Bridlington. Found this restaurant on google maps. We ordered two nights in a row. I called to order and arranged for pick up. I ordered in Cantonese, the First Lady didn’t know what I was talking about. She asked another lady who speaks Cantonese to take our order. Recommended dishes: black bean sauce beef with peppers, beef chow mien, prawn chow mien, dumplings, egg fried rice and dumplings. These taste like proper Chinese food. Not recommended: kung pow chicken. It does not taste great, just sweat and sour. salt and pepper squid, it wasn’t great. I received a sms when the food was ready. The price was very good compared to London.

Very friendly. Although we were strangers we were made to feel as if part of the family. Previously lived in Hong Kong Food was great, and as you would expect. Reasonably riced Set meals took the hassle out of trying to mix and match for everyone in our group I will gladly go again to this cosy place

Always buy for local takeaway and very good at adapting dishes for gluten free (coeliac). Visited the restaurant in person recently and received excellent service and fantastic food. Good value for money and highly recommended.

Normally set meals seem to be made up of stuff that doesn't sell to well, here is definitely not like that! The food is outstanding without the overwhelming hit of MSG that goes with some Chinese restaurants. The staff and service at this place are excellent and the food comes out exactly on time. Stanley restaurant is a higher end establishment with an excellent atmosphere. The menu is quite contemporary and the food is very well presented. A person would not be disappointed by a visit here

Food - Great Portions - Great Manager/Owner - Terrible Staff - Pleasant This property has been a Chinese/Asian cuisine ever since I can remember. I went with my family (told about the managers ora) They were not wrong, it's Asif he didn't want to be there. Stubborn, rude and one worded. Smoking cigarettes out of either entrance. You could smell it as you came in. Such a shame because everything else is great and he's a real let down to the team that runs the show. All in all, great food, big portions, just feel unwanted.

Outstanding! Food was just the nicest Chinese food I have eaten! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to go back and try some more food from the menu!

Friendly owner and a lovely atmosphere. Easy to get to with parking to the rear. A lovely range of food is on offer, from the classics to some fancier dishes. There's some nicely thought out banquets with a good variety of meals and the owner is always accommodating. It's a nice place for a quiet date or a work night out!

Ordered house special fried rice and salt and pepper chicken wings. Omg one of the worst Chinese I had , food was hortible, salty wings and beef meat was smelling off in the rice. What an awful experience, had to chuck the whole lot.

Absolutely first class food, plentiful , piping hot, sweet & sour chicken melted in my mouth. Hubby’s special curry was absolutely delicious too … probably the best Chinese takeaway we’ve ever eaten. Well done guys 👏👏👏

Great food in comparison to other Chinese restaurants I've been to, portions are good Value for money. Service is very friendly and they will go out of there way to make you feel welcome. Plus good choice on the wine but some wines won't be to everyone's taste, though we did like ours. If your looking for a good Chinese and some good all round Service this is the place to go...............

First time for us as we just recently moved into the area. We hadn't booked. Luckily, they had space. Staff were very attentive, and we didn't have long to wait till our food was served. The food was delicious, both starters and main. Marked down for atmosphere, as no background music was playing, and we could hear the loud group of diners next to us chatting. Before they came in, it was too quiet! We will be back, as we thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

The food was excellent as was the service. This for me is a proper Chinese restaurant. The BBQ spare ribs were superb best I've had in fact. My partner had squid and she said it was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend Lee garden. The price was also spot on £40 for starters, mains and drinks. Certainly be going back

We have lived around the area for years and never been here before. Well consider us CONVERTED! Possibly the best Chinese we have ever had. Affordable, tasty, fantastic quality!!! Would definitely recommend.

Excellent customer service and excellent food. Really enjoyed our night. Bare in mind my review of this place was 4 years ago. The food here used to be brilliant. Had a take away yesterday and it was horrible. Chicken and Sweetcorn Soup was thick. I mean really thick. Could stand up a Spoon in it. Hardly any King Prawns in my King Prawn and Ginger/Onion dish. Hardly any Meat in Meat dishes. Has someone else taken over this place? Because if you have, your food standards have gone right down Hill. I will not be ordering from here again until you get this place back to how it used to be like. Sorry but that meal I bought yesterday was not worth £73.....

Fantastic food and reasonable price

Myself and my colleague Ben had an outstanding meal in here. We found this hidden gem by pure chance (EV charger point close by) Starters were delicious and prompt. Then came the main courses and sides and it was honestly was a rare treat. We had the fillet of beef Cantonese style which came out sizzling hot and also the House special curry accompanied by spicy salt chips, thin noodles and fried rice. The service was exemplary and we will definitely be back in 6 months as our work dictates.

We had walked a long way to a restaurant in the Old Town, only to find it shut, as was much else, so we wound up in China City. The place is quite modern and clean, the menu was excellent, the food was absolutely spot on as was the service. The staff could not have been more polite and friendly, and they even booked a taxi home for us as we were struggling to find one. Would recommend.

Had a lovely meal here this evening. The Manager, Danny, was super efficient and friendly. We felt well looked after. He even helped us get a ride back afterwards. This restaurant is very lucky to have him, he got the balance right between being friendly and professional. Service was outstanding and so was the food. Well done all! 👏 We will definitely be back! We had a takeaway from here. It was the worst food from a Chinese Ive ever had. The chips had been cooked for hours before so were hard and cold. I had sweet and sour pork balls, they must have been from the cheapest cash & carry ever. We was staying 6 minutes away from the shop and they charged me £5.27 for delivery they said it wasn’t in Bridlington but it’s a Bridlington address. I will never ever use them again. So please be aware you have been warned !!!

SHOCKING!! The hygiene was shocking- one of the waiters had pimple patches above her lip which was hanging off, which is disgusting, should not have that when working in a restaurant. We got there at 6:45pm quite empty so we thought it would be smooth sailing. We ordered a set meal for 1, set meal for 2 and a starter and main Starters came one of them was freezing and hard, one of them just smelt completely off. None of our meals came at the same time there was always someone waiting for their food. Moving on to the mains- half of the set meal for 2 was missing when we questioned it there response was “oh right, erm we will go cook the other dish because we haven’t cooked it yet” Like sorry you haven’t cooked half of our meal? The staff were then stood at the bar area talking about customers as when she walked over to the bar after dealing with another complaint from another family one of the waiters said “what are they complaining about this time” All of this was brought up and the service back was just so unprofessional! We have eaten here before and only a couple times and only had 1 bad experience so we wanted to give it another go but this time was by far the most unhygienic, unprofessional and disgusting food. There were even tables next to us who had been waiting for their mains an hour! We also waited 1hour 10 mins for main meals. There weee people waiting for takeaways to then be told it isn’t in the system anymore and after an hour of waiting they got the food! So much went wrong with this restaurant today, please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss the concerns.

Beef and black pepper was mostly onions with few bits of grey beef, fried rice was tepid at best as was the mixed vegetables. The last time I ate here I returned the food as it was cold by time I picked it up which was concerning as I live on the other side of the street. This time I couldn't be bothered to return the food and simply won't use the place again.

Don't let the look of the place put you off...... Respectfully, the place needs a bit of an update but other than that it's all good. Friendly welcome by the waitress, food came promptly, was hot and very tasty! If your looking for a good Chinese meal with no frills then China City is recommended.

Lovely food and great service but it’s terribly expensive for a takeaway meal the restaurant is dreadfully rundown and the owners need to spend some cash to bring it back to life. It’s so depressing and cold and looks like it could do with a blinking good clean! Also, the owners needs to stop kids on iPads watching tv and people on video calls in the restaurant. For god sake, some of us go out to escape this behaviour. Just eat your Chinese and forget about technology for 10 minutes!!! No draught beer or other drinks left, only option was the bottles than cost a lot more for a lot less drink. The waitresses were completely honest and upfront and said they have run out and don’t take notice of the levels. So it’s bottles only. Money making scheme that! I don’t like being ripped off….£4 for a 330ml beer! This place needs to get its act together and stop thinking it’s acceptable to just bob along ripping customers off.

After reading the reviews we had mixed expectations. On arrival we were greeted warmly. As a party of 3 we were seated quickly and a drinks order given. Our order was taken by young lady with a warm welcome and lovely smile. Our starters, main meals were delicious ( Singapore vermicelli noodles especially delicious). Overall it's worth a visit despite the negative reviews. ENJOY

Absolutely a rip off for the same price in hornsea at the golden wok you can feed a family of four compared to this place I can't believe how little you get at this place and the food isn't spectacular either I can only say that I won't be going back there I will wait till I'm in hornsea and go to the golden wok where you get what you pay for and the food is out of this world if I could give this place a 0 rating I would absolutely ripped off here you might consider your portion size and quality of food in future

Just finished my lovely Cantonese style Duck dish. Lovely had a chow mein taking that home was lovely. Also had chicken satay duck spring rolls and salt and pepper chicken all was stunning. Thanks again staff where great and welcoming and as we saw good with kids. Will be back again.

The Water Margin is one of our 'go to' restaurants in Driffield. You are always made welcome, and our visit yesterday was no exception. Jeanette was in very good form, and the staff were very engaging and made our meal incredible fun. The food was first class as always, and the Sunlik slipped down a treat. Another pleasant dining experience, thank you.

Poor management, shouting at the young staff in the restaurant - not acceptable at all. Banquet Dynasty was not worth the money as only 2 - 4 pieces of meat in each main course so for £56 it's shockingly over priced. Young staff at the front of house were lovely though. Will not return again and I'm also putting a negative review on TripAdvisor.

Could not rate food because we did not stay. The place looks run down and out dated. The so called greeter, well she was loud abrupt and very rude. Showed us to our table, threw the menus on it and walked off. She then returned with a small dish with 4 prawn crackers on it and dropped them in the center of the table. We then picked up the menus. They were sticky and should have been thrown in the bin. We decided to leave and travel 30 miles to our favourite Indian in Hull. Appalling attitude from staff and very dirty. Avoid at all costs.

We visited this restaurant/ takeaway the week of 18th Sept. We were the only ones in there eating in, so it felt a bit weird. However, the 2 young ladies who were hosting did a lovely job of tending to us and informing us of certain dishes. Very friendly hosts! My first thoughts were, wow this place needs a good hoover! The house keeping is pretty poor and should not be this dirty. If it looks like this here, what's the kitchen like? We placed our order and the food arrived quickly. The food was nice, but portion size was stingy! We'd have probably been better to have gotten a takeaway as you get more in a carton. Sweet and sour sauce heavily watered down. It wasn't a bad meal, just could've been better, would i go back to the restaurant again? No, but I might try a takeaway.

4 star health rating for kitchen if that bothers you. Average price, food not top drawer, drinks menu was sticky through not being wiped down. Probably go again as not much choice in the area.

Really nice takeaway, certainly one of the best in the area. And quite reasonable prices too. Salt and pepper chicken wings are delicious 😋 On the one occasion we ate in, the restaurant bit itself wasn't open and we were sat in the lounge but it wasn't too bad because it wasn't a really busy night. Nice clean place, good comfy tables and chairs if you're eating in - not your typical sticky table village local pub. Only issue I ever had is the last time I went for a takeaway, lass behind the counter insisted on cash payment... Card has never been a problem before. Lucky I had enough in the car. Recommended, definitely a level above many of the other local takeaways

Ordered sweet sour box and shredded chicken salt pepper with chips, fried rice and fried noodles. Food was freshly cooked, piping hot and very quick, tasted delicious. Definitely worth a visit for some beautiful food. I marked down one star for atmosphere as I think it would be nice to have the spare dining room as a small restaurant separate to bar area. But still really enjoyed our visit. Will be back again. 👍😁

The hare & hounds is a bit different from most village pubs. There is a good choice of beers larger and cider, but sadly, no cask conditioned real ales. The L-shaped bar has bar games, a pool table, and a dart board. It's main selling point is as a Chinese restaurant. There is a separate dining room for meals. I haven't tried the food, but the restaurant menu looks very extensive and inviting. They also have a Chinese takeaway menu. There is a large car park behind the pub.

The food was okay. the service was a little slow due to the same person running the bar plus being a waiter, and the atmosphere was quite flat, probably due to the restaurant area being virtually empty. It was also cold so, please turn the heating up for the customers.

Excellent carvery with good quality food. Choose your carvery size based on how much meat you would like and then vegetables are unlimited. There is also a vegetarian option available and a range of desserts. Pub is starting to look a little dated.

Had a Chinese takeaway with the family. The food was absolutely delicious and piping hot. Good size portions. Really cannot fault it at all.

All three of the boxes we ordered were either flavourless or just tasted generically spicy. The only reasonable things were the prawns spring rolls and the prawns. It’s also shockingly loud given how small the store is.

Really good food, it's not often you can order udon noodles which is great! It was hot and tasty and came very quickly.

Ordered Padthai and Mixed. Padthai was delicious as I am Thai, and I am not disappointed at all. My husband and I love hot box as well it has a lot of favour and the spice is just perfect.

very misnamed establishment. should be called wok-and-wait-20-minutes-for-mediochre-burnt-food! this wasn't a busy day, yet our food took 15 minutes to arrive with only 2 people in front of us. My hoisin duck box was incredibly burnt so I had to eat my boyfriend's.... we both tapped out after around 4 mouthfuls. Rubbish food and tense atmosphere with staff shouting every 2 minutes. Listen to the reviews!!!! £19 for 2 regular boxes is criminal.

Always in Wok & Go, great place. Food is reasonably price and store kept clean. Only negative is some customers who think it should be the same service as a 5 star restaurant and have a superiority complex over the staff who work there.

Ordered one hot box for delivery and I live about 15 mins away. Despite this my order time was predicted at around 30 mins (6:55pm estimate arrival) which then changed once the 30 minutes went to (7:15-7:30 estimated arrival), while there was a being prepared sign being shown through just eats, this then extended by another 30 minutes but didn’t have an estimate arrival, after that I then decided to call and check but did not get one answer from numerous attempts to get in touch. Currently 7:56pm and the app now says my food is being delivered and 16 mins away. Very pissed off and will be more so if the food is cold or not up to it’s normal standard. £19.60 for around 2 hours from when ordering to getting my food.

Shame to write this as usually I love wok&go, but I ordered £30 of food tonight for me and the wife, and when it was delivered I was handed a very small bag, when I opened I told the driver immediately this was the wrong order, he didn't care, he said that's what the restaurant gave me and walked off. The receipt on the bag was for Abbie (I'm not called Abbie) and was through deliveroo, when I used justeat. I was delivered one regular box when we ordered 2 large boxes, spring rolls and two drinks. I tried to call the restaurant 5 times and got no answer despite them still being open until 9 (food was delivered around 7pm). Awfully disappointed in this, a blatant mistake, justeat refusing to help, and then no answer from the shop.

What can I say about this food! The sweet and sour sauce is like jelly. The chicken balls are Grey inside and for the chow mein and the prawns with cashews , it had the worst smell ever. Literally had one bite and threw it away. Sweetcorn, peas and carrots in these dishes.you would think we are having a Sunday roast. Disgusting. Avoid!!!

Ordered food whilst visiting Withernsea Sands Holiday Park - absolutely lovely Chinese. Not greasy at all, chips were so fresh and the rest of the food was spot on. Both main dishes we ordered had a huge variety of veg in which I didn’t expect so that was nice to see. The chow mein was layered so easy to get noodles for my little girl without the bean sprouts or veggies in. Very reasonably priced and delivery quite cheap. Staff were also super friendly.

My friend and her sister brought me to this place from hull and I didn’t have high hopes. Chinese food in hull isn’t great. The spring rolls was the topic as they was supposed to be AMAZING! Hate spring rolls. Blah blah. Well let me tell you. Ordered my food… the chat with locals was fun! The food however was amazing! The spring rolls are… out of this world?! Dipped in the curry sauce! Try it! I’m now converted and will only get them from here when I visit!!! They are unique! Food is always 10/10! Came from Hull twice and the second time was from the first I just mentioned and even on the way home by the time we got home it was HOT!!! And tasty! Will forever rave about this place it’s incredible and deserve more recognition I know why the locals love it! 🥰

This place has been a cornerstone to the area for over fourty years. I remember going there with my parents as a small child and I’m in my fourties now! Whilst it’s not been the same since Peter retired it is still a great takeaway with lots of options and great tasting food. Prices have risen a lot over the last five or six years but that’s no different to anywhere else. Overall a great place for a fantastic Chinese take out.

Ordered bbq ribs - only to receive ribs in what I can only describe as a curry and gravy mix. Ate it because it wasn’t bad but regarding the price we paid it just wasn’t worth it. Didn’t realise until we had gotten back to ours and couldn’t be bothered to go and complain. Expected bbq and there wasn’t a hit of it in sight. The boiled rice we got was clumped together like it had been cooked the day before. Service was less than standard - they wasn’t busy with only one other customer in and yet seemed to want us gone - no smile no greeting just what having and the amount it cost - not even asking if I wanted something else. Wildly over priced only came here because my usual place was shut. Don’t think we’ll be returning.

Great food & rice (or chips) included with most mains makes it very reasonably priced. Doesnt disappoint and you're able to customise your dish ( no onions etc ). Quality clean food.

Ordered two meals from here tonight rang up at 16.59 no food so rang back at 18.10 to be told we are busy you can wait from one hour to one hour and 30 minutes I said this should have been mentioned when ordering was also told your food is just leaving the shop we got our food at 18.20 my wife's beef curry was ok but my sweet and sour chicken was terrible I got 8 chicken pieces and only 4of them was edible the other 4 was rock hard which got binned as we have 4 takeaways round corner from us maybe we should have used one of them we will do next time would I recommend NO will I use again NO.

One of the best Chinese takeaway I have ever eaten in my life. The service was very helpful and nice and the food was ready in only 10 minutes. The servings are really big and although I am the only woman in my family (5 males) we didn't manage to eat everything in one go. Definitely worth of trying and although my first time there definitely I will be a permanent customer from now on!!!

Always the quickest place for delivery so piping hot food every time. Opted for the special foo young, boiled rice and curry sauce to share as trying to lose a little weight lol. A nice big slab of omelette with plenty of filling, I personally don't like prawns so a I picked them out and gave them to the wife who loves them. The curry sauce had just the right amount of spice and consistency. The only reason for not 5 stars is the rice was a tiny bit stuck together probably on account of it been a delivery although when separated with a fork was fine. All fed for less than £12 delivered, superb.

We just recieved our order. Sweet and sour pork hk style, prawn toast, special fried rice and curry and chips. This meal was piping hot and each element was cooked well. It was full of flavour and we all enjoyed it. I hope this standard is kept up. Thank you.5 stars.

Well where to start, we ordered our food which took forever to arrive when it did, the duck we ordered tasted foul and of soap, which was un eatable, so we told the waitress, and her response was, your still going to have to pay for it, because you tasted it. To our shock she was adamant we was paying for it. So we had to nearly get into an argument about. Whilst this was happening we herd the same thung going on another table aswell. Dont waste your time at this so called restaurant.

We just had a Chinese takeaway from Lotus Garden, ordered a set meal for 2, cost less than £20. The food was good portion and delicious, definitely will use them again.

Waited over an hour and a half for an hour delivery, was not worth the wait, mixed starter was ok and promising but main course of chilli beef which was not crispy and had a weird taste and colour and the Singapore noodles with far too much chilli was disappointing to say the least, we had a Chinese take away from The Golden Wok which was far better the week before, which I recommend, I personally would not eat from here again.

Ordered for delivery. Honeydew spare ribs, sweet & sour chicken balls with chips, and house special Cantonese with fried rice. The ribs were nice, fried rice was nice, chips were typical chinese takeaway chips. Sweet and sour sauce wasn't.....well, sweet & sour. Not really sure what it tasted like, but wasn't nice. And the Cantonese wasn't good either. Quite disappointed. Won't be ordering from here again.

Chinese is my favourite meal, but my sweet and sour special was awful. It was bland, the chicken you could bounce off the floor, and the sauce was almost clear. Never again

Ordered for a delivery a few nights ago told us max we’d be waiting for our food would be an hour due to us ordering for delivery. Had to call up again as an hour and a half had gone by and we were still sat about waiting and they proceeded to tell us it’d be another 20 minutes. The food finally came after 2 hours of waiting and the packaging it came in looked like it had been trashed and thrown about not to mention the food seemed to be undercooked. The egg fried rice and noodles tasted old as though it had been sat out for a day or so didn’t taste freshly done at all. I expected better considering the long wait for us to receive it. Will not be ordering from here again. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Our favourite Chinese takeaway in Withernsea. Food is tasty but not spicy. Set meals are very good value. Fast service and good prices. Wait usually about 20 minutes.

Portion sizes are much smaller, can no longer get two meals from one order. My last order here only just had enough for one meal, the amount of fried rice was shocking, my partner even commented on how little there was. Taste rating, unfortunately nothing special. TL;DR: - The gravy is never consistent. - Don't order the prawn toast, it is soggy, mushy and has bad flavour. - Portion sizes are very small for the price you pay (near enough £30 for 2 people ordering 2 mains, 2 sides and 2 sauce pots). When you're hungry the last thing you want to deal with is the prospect of "is my food going to taste as good as X time". Sadly, I can no longer recommend this take-out for a flavour and texture sensation. If you want plain & simple with no wow factor, this will do.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! Ordered for a large number of people to find the order was completely wrong, the chicken was cold and the food simply had no taste and was pure slop. In an honest review, the most tasty part to the meal was the fortune cookies! Waste of £50.

Great Chinese takeaway - food is excellent and prices are ok. I've tried a few other Chinese takeaways recently and they're nowhere near as nice. Shame they only accept cash - it seems like no Chinese takeaways accept card/contactless payments? It's the 21st century!

Used to be a good takeaway, been a couple of times since Christmas, the food has declined. Gave it another go tonight Special Malaysia noodles and chips. What a claggy mess, soft overcooked or old noodles waiting to be re heated, plenty of meat but was put off how safe it may have been to eat. The taste of the dish was poor I've had a better pot noodle. Chips were over cooked and dry properly re fried. What a waste of money, never going back again. Rubbish

Absolutely no qualms at all. When I'm back home (Raywell) I insist on popping by. I don't think I've had better Capital Ribs in my life (yes, I've been about a bit), the food is indeed made fresh to order, and the fact there's an open kitchen is testament to the confidence they have in the fare they're presenting. Also, the Singapore-style chow mein is insanely good.

Choice go back while food goes cold, try and keep warm whilst they send out rice or make do with sharing the other people's order. Once is a mistake twice is not acceptable.

Ordered chicken curry with boiled rice and a portion of chips to take away. Took less then 5 mins to receive my ordered. Got home to find no rice but extra portion of chips. Curry tastes really salty, no onions and the sauce was thick and goey. Won't be ordering there again.

Had three takeaways from here, first was good food fresh, second not the best but gave them the benefit of the doubt and had a third, chicken balls seemed reheated, chicken was dry and chewy, chips overcooked or reheated. Curry was nice. I hope the owners do read reviews as it's friendly criticism and it's the only way to rectify. But sadly, I will try elsewhere next time.

Thought I would try this takeaway for a change to our usual. Nothing too adventurous for me, a Special fried rice and a curry sauce. No complaints and enjoyed my meal. Service was good and quick. As tends to be the norm it's cash or bank transfer only

Had my first takeaway from newbegin for a while. I ordered the special Kung po and it was inedible the sauce was awful and tasted different from other places I've had the dish. The prawn crackers were dried up and the only good thing was the prawn wontons. Won't be going here again after that meal it was the worst I've had in a long time.

Came and stayed at the Hornsea lakeside lodges - viewed reviews online decided to give it a go Ordered a variety of meals and sides for four people- wasn’t disappointed- meat tasty and not fatty, lots of flavour Only downside was asked for garlic rice- And think we received normal fried rice- still lovely though 👏🏼 Would deffo recommend to try 🙌🏻

First time ordering as read reviews first & staying at Lakeside Lodges. Okay food but nothing special. All to our own taste I suppose. 1. Chips good portion 2.Fried rice very nice and enough. 3.Shredded chicken in sweet chill sauce, chicken lovely but sauce a bit bland.lots of chicken. 4.Beef in black bean, beef chewy & not much, loads of onions and not much green pepper, sauce very runny. Disappointed. See picture. Would I go back? prob not. We always share meals.1/2 & and 1/2. Cash only here.

We phoned and placed an order over the phone and we were able to pay by bank transfer. The food arrived promptly and was some of the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. Thank you for a delicious tea ☺️💜

Absolutely fantastic! Pulled up to this place and was a bit dubious considering the location. Not the most glamorous of surroundings for a restaurant. The outside of the restaurant is clean and modern looking, and once you're inside everything looks great and well kept. The food is absolutely delicious and tastes really fresh, would probably go as far as to say it's the best Chinese I've ever had! So much flavour and cooked to perfection. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. Would recommend this place all day long! I have no idea how it hasn't got more reviews on here. The kitchen is all visible so you can see the food being made if you want to. Hope to go back again soon.

Picked the restaurant just by chance because it was quite close. The outside looked very modern. Inside it was smartly decorated and clean. The service was second to none and the food was really plentiful. It was cooked very well and presented in a pleasing manner. We all really enjoyed ourselves. Would highly recommend.

This evening has taught me never to judge a book by its cover.... location and first impressions wise you may question this place but it is spotless, safe, comfortable and the food is AMAZING!! We are on holiday and fancied a ‘eat in’ Chinese, went by the reviews and so so glad we did. Try it, trust it, enjoy it.

One of the best chinese restaurants in Hull; the salt and pepper tofu is on another level, the seafood selection is fresh as compared to other chinese restaurants; the rice and noodles are phenomenal and the service is excellent. A legendary place within hull and a must if visiting the area. 10 out of 10 hands down.

This restaurant is old but delivers great food all the time loads of choice. Service great. Went with a group of friends all enjoyed.

Found a massive black hair embedded inside the giant spring roll. Also found another hair in the chow mein/gravy, unsure which as it got combined at home. Chow mein wasn't what I'm used to in a Chinese chow mein, it was very thin noodles and very little of it. Sauce that came with starter was odd but not unpleasant. The best part of the food was the crispy seaweed. Unfortunately I won't be ordering from here again as the hair in the food has put me off.

First time here and it wasn't for us. Good points. Prawn won ton, salt and pepper prawn, chicken balls. Not so good. BBQ ribs were small, tough and tasted of nothing. No BBQ flavour. Loads of watery tasteless sauce. Special chow mein. Good amount of pork, chicken, and veg. Good noodles (not thin). But limited flavour and noodles were greasy. Overall we were left disappointed.

Indifferent Chow main and ribs were ok. Delivery was good. The 1/4 duck was appalling. Pancakes rock hard in the middle, so all tore when trying to separate. The sauce was ice cold and the duck was so dry. Overall, not as impressed as other reviewers were.

Worst chinese takeaway I have ever had in my life , My usual place was closed so I decided to look for a new one were I seen this had not had reviews. The fried rice was tasteless , the satay chicken skewer sauce was inedible and didn't taste like satay sauce at all. Had a wierd smell to it. The prawn crackers was stale. The salt and pepper King Prawns was soggy and covered in five spice not your typical salt and pepper seasoning like other takeaways use. The pancake roll was bland and soggy. I will 100% be avoiding this place from now on. Waste of money! My usual takeaways are regent and long hua, maybe give them a try , far far better quality.

For me to give a honest review I could not award not even one star however to post this review I was required to do so. Paid £18 to take home and place in the bin.

Cracking Chinese takeaway,very clean and polite service and generous portions at a reasonable price.

What can I say about a take away? Good quality, tasty, well cooked food. Large portions too. Polite service from the owners and staff. Not overpriced either. One of two in Willerby, both equally good, but parking is more available here. My first choice if I don't feel like cooking.

Nice enough to eat but the foil trays are never full to the top, food is sparse compared to the sauce, only thing accompanying the meat is a peas and onions combination which is a disappointment and a one off used in the area as most places include mushroom and peppers (never peas). Chips are on the light side too unfortunately. Such a shame as the curry here could be so much better with a few pence extra spent, the prices are good but I can see why now, a false economy.

We were staying nearby for the weekend and fancied a late Chinese. Looked for a few places (which were closed) but found this one, and I’m glad we did. Food smelt and tasted 10/10 and time we come we will be ordering again. Yes the food has garlic in and they cook it right so it is strong, so maybe just ask for it without if you don’t like it… portion size is good, price is good, and good amount of meat in the dishes!

Ordered starter for 2, chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce, beef in green pepper with black bean sauce and 2 egg fried rice. Delivery was quick and the starter was good except for the very watery sweet and sour sauce (more like a vinegar than a sauce) Then the main…. Chicken balls were absolutely massive, reason for this is the masses of batter and not sure where from a chicken the mush inside it was from but had one and it tasted like a chicken donut with the same consistency. Sweet and sour sauce was same as starter and more runny than a child’s nose with a cold The beef in black bean sauce was very fatty and poor meat. The black bean sauce was more like gravy than black bean. The rice was worryingly tough as if it hadn’t been cooked enough. So paid £18 for a starter only as something I could eat. If given this in a restaurant I would have walked out or wanted my money back but as it’s a takeaway you take your chances If could take it back I would.

Great little Chinese! We've just moved to Withernsea, so wanted to sample the local takeaways, whilst unboxing. Ordered a salt and pepper box, s&p squid, crispy wontons, Singapore chow mein, and cashew beef, and pork balls with curry sauce. S&P box, contains chips, wings, ribs, crispy chicken pieces. Very tasty, does exactly what it says on the tin - my only quibble - the ribs were a bit tough, and I wish there was more spice - but next time I'll just ask for extra chilli/salt Squid was cooked perfectly, really tender - again just needs more spice - easily remedied next time. Singapore chow mein, very nice, well seasoned, pork was a little dry, but nothing a touch of curry sauce can't fix, and it tasted good. Pork balls - standard. Very crunchy, very morish. Curry sauce is lush. Cashew beef - tender beef, plenty of cashews. I thought it was good, but not mind blowing, partner gave it 5/5 stars and wants it on the regular rotation when we do a takeaway. Star of the show was crispy wontons. Do we know the filling? No. Do we care? Also no. Tasty, hot, crunchy parcels of yum. The lady behind the counter recommended them as we didn't know what to order, and I'm really glad she did. Bloody tasty. Clean, typical takeaway shop, quick and effective service, food was cooked fresh to order, but still in an efficient and timely manner. Overall very happy, and we're looking forward to seeing what else is good on the menu!

Service was fine but the food was vile. Everything tasted like oil unfortunately, flavour was just pure minced garlic. Couldn’t even eat it, had to chuck it unfortunately. Belly was moving crazy straight after too :(

Best chopsticks? More like bent chopsticks after I’ve picked my wontons up with them. After a week stay at withernsea caravan park our holiday was coming to an end. Upon a group discussion we thought what a better way to end it than with a Chinese. Well we couldn’t have been more wrong. After spending over £30 we were anticipating a piping hot tasty meal. The only authentic part about it was the lady on the other side of the phone. The duck tasted and looked like it had been caught in a net from the local canal the not to mention the vegetables that had been prepared to have alongside cucumber bites with a side of spring LEEK. The house special house curry should’ve been called mystery meat curry instead if you’re wanting a surprise this one’s definitely for you as you won’t know if you’ve got a piece of chicken or beef. If you have private dental I’d consider skipping the fried rice as trying to explain the yellow oil stains left on your teeth after eating the fried rice might leave you in an awkward predicament. All in all highly disappointed, dissatisfied and out of pocket wouldn’t even consider eating if I was starving. Definitely don’t ignore the reviews on google as every one is valid.

We were staying at Sand Le Mere and had a flyer on our windscreen. We place our order with a very polite man over the phone. Our order was delivered to our caravan 10 mins earlier than stated. Excellent service. The food was lovely, great taste, excellent quality. Would recommend it everyone. Will defo order again. 👍👍👍

We are staying in Carnaby just outside Bridlington. We ordered and the food was delivered within the hour as told on the phone. The food was very hot on arrival. Food was really tasty and nice! Would defo recommend.

Tried here whilst on holiday in the area, very tasty food and lots of it. The only negative is that the curry sauce was a bit runny for our liking.

The food is very delicious, especially the salt and pepper box, only thing I'll say is that if you eat there you might fart a lot a few days afterwards, so don't get this on a work night XD

Had a 8inch salt and pepper box and it was good you get quite a lot, chicken balls, ribs, chips, crispy chicken, egg rice, sweet and sour sauce and its £10.80, I couldn't eat it all do i had to take it home!! 😂

Certainly one of the better place for Chinese food in Bridlington. I love the King Prawn Foo Young. The salt boxes are lovely too, but less healthy so I keep them as a special treat. Staff are lovely and delivery is swift. Well recommended 👍

Duck under cooked, but our noodle box was just awful, noodles looked overcooked mushy and black too much soya sauce and salt. Definitely would not recommend , went in the bin disgusting

Burnt black and over cooked! Waste of money! Burnt black onion rings and what’s supposed to be ribs are just fatty tissue off cuts also very dark and over cooked. Mini spring rolls dark and over cooked and dried out! Was supposed to be an 8inch salt and pepper box meal priced at £8.50 Only thing salvageable was the chips and fried rice! I would have taken it back but id traveled back to Flambrough before i realised how bad it was and the box was all taped up. Normally this place is ok but there is no excuse for putting burnt food in your meal! 😡 Pics show it all!

It serves Chinese Food, which was cheap but not that great. Not a restaurant a take away.

The service is pleasant and reasonably fast but the food is very variable and in general, not too good. Curried beef with chips was a low point, very little meat and a wadge of onion strips swilling about in a nondescript sauce which could have been many things but not specifically curry. The chips were a disaster, hard, pointy, shrapnel, not a proper chip among them. Singapore vermicelli was quite acceptable and actually better than some other nearby takeaways.

I regularly order from this Chinese as the food is usually great. However tonight I ordered a meal which included 3x salt and pepper chips to only receive 1x portion after 1 hour 40 wait. I then rang up to tell them that there was 2 portions missing which I was told we didn’t order them. The girl on the phone asked if I would like 2 portions sending and I said yes. Upon arrival they tried charging me £10 for 2 portions of chips they missed off the order. The rest of the food wasn’t to its standard and the customer service is shocking. Not even an apology on the phone but only from the driver. Will not order again.

A warm welcoming, followed by an excellent service with a lot of attention to details on the orders to please customers especially I'm allergy to certain foods, very helpful. Been going here for years Up untill recently I always went here It's gone downhill rapidly The food is cold when it finally arrived Only ordered 3 things and only got 2 of the 3 things I ordered Still got charged for house special chow mein even though it never got delivered. Moved out of the area for a lot of years prior to moving I used to use mayflower so I thought I'd give it a go, disappointed to say the least ,I collected my order only to find when I got home half of my order wasn't there, after a prompt phone call I was assured the missing food would be sent to me straight away 45mins later it arrived by this time my wife had pretty much got past wanting her food ! She hardly touched it , it was a bit of a celebratory tea and although she never said anything it quite spoiled the night Doubt very much I'll be going back

The food is great. But they never answer the phone! 4 times we have tried to use you and it just rings and rings..... Sometimes we ring you and we get a dial tone like we are trying to connect to 90s Internet! Such a shame as it is nice food

The mayflower Chinese is my go-to Chinese takeaway. The food in my opinion is of a high standard and better than some of the other local Chinese takeaways. I have sometimes used the delivery service and the food has always arrived in the time stated and always been exactly as ordered.

Ordered a start box...chicken wings raw. Rung and all we got was ill sead the boss to look I know how to cook chicken used these for years cats didn't entertain it aswell. Never ordering again

Never again! Ordered 2 beef chow meins & 2 spring rolls. Quick delivery & still hot but had a strange fragrance & taste to it, especially the spring rolls. Beef was an odd colour & chewy. Sauce/gravy was still jellified & the prawn crackers were stale. Didn't eat & won't return.

If we have a takeaway, we always use Mayflower as we enjoy there food. I was a little bit disappointed today as we ordered beef tomato and when we opened it. The dish was chicken tomato, although the number of the menu written on the receipt was for beef. Never had any problems before 😕

Lucky it’s a one star review because I’d have given it 0 if I could! Absolutely disgusting! Eggs was grey/black the chips was absolutely solid and the rice may as well have just been sent in the original packaging! Absolutely shocking wouldn’t refund it and wanted to poison me with even more of their disgusting food! Over my dead body would I ever eat here again absolutely disgusting and being reported to health and safety!

Very disappointed, went in & placed order the phone was going constantly & heard person taking orders stating 15/20 mins wait we waited 25 mins & told was been sorted yet people comin in for phone orders in & out! After 40.mins a joke for beef curry & rice x2 with spring rolls told would be out shortly, friend came in who had phoned 20 mins earlier for bigger order which was handed over straight away! Use this take away every week but not now! Other people in there asking for refunds not impressed either! Very disappointed

Poor food, worse attitude — won’t be returning I had high hopes for Merit Chinese Takeaway, but this was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had with a local takeaway. The food was below average — greasy, bland, and clearly not made with care. The chicken balls were mostly soggy batter with very little meat inside, and the curry sauce tasted like it came from a packet. Rice was dry, noodles were overcooked, and nothing we ordered had the freshness or flavour you'd expect. But what stood out even more than the poor food was the atmosphere inside the shop. While I was waiting for my order, I witnessed the owner speaking to young staff members in a completely unacceptable way. It was unprofessional, condescending, and bordered on outright bullying. No one — especially young people likely in their first jobs — should be spoken to like that in the workplace. It made the whole experience uncomfortable and awkward. If the food had been incredible, maybe I could overlook a few issues. But when you combine subpar quality with an unpleasant environment and a lack of basic respect for staff, it’s a definite no from me. I won’t be supporting this business again.

Our usual Chinese was closed, so thought we would try this one. We ordered prawn toast, which was lovely, special foo young with fried rice for my partner, he really enjoyed it. I ordered king prawn in oyster sauce with boiled rice. I was really disappointed with the sauce as it just tasted like gravy, it had a ton of onions and Carrot and a decent amount of prawns but that was it. The full tub was mainly gravy and onions.

An absolute farce. Ordered a takeaway on Christmas Eve we was told to collect within an hour. Walked in and asked for payment straight away. Two hours later still stood in the Chinese waiting on food to be prepared. Wouldn’t refund when asked, said they do offer refunds would knock amount of bill next time. Food eventually came no apologies, food wasn’t great cold and greasy. If you’re inundated with orders, which I can appreciate you were with it being Christmas Eve stop taking them. You clearly struggled to fulfil the orders you had and compromised the quality of food & and customer service. I’d of rather had the order cancelled or not accepted then pay for poor quality food and even poorer service.

All old bad reports are from up to 6 and 7 years ago and not true food was tasty plenty and and very quick service.

The food here is pretty good we prefer it to some of the other Chinese takeaways in the area.

Being going to this take away for years at least once a week as it was the best chinese take away in hull but past couple of times the food has been declining but i thought it was one off. But no!! Ive just got a take away from them and it was absolutely shocking, the chicken tasted off, it had a horrible taste to it, I tried to tell them only to be met with hostility and nastiness.. I won't ever be going back there again and certainly DONT recommend it, choose a different one

Today we visited Jack’s for dinner. Food was amazing and service is top notch. The front of house staff/manager was extremely pleasant, helpful and went the extra mile to make our dining experience simply superb. Highly recommended!

Ordered a takeaway a few weeks ago having never tried Jack's before, it has to be up there with the worst food I've tried. The salt & pepper squid was anaemic, dry and looked like it was cooked from frozen days before and left to stand. Delivery time was quick - not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

My daughter ordered a takeaway whilst we were on holiday and it was so good we booked a table, highly satisfied, the food was delicious, we are a family of 4 and opted for the "All you can eat menu" we all tried something different from the menu and we were all full up when we left, highly recommended and we will definitely be coming back, Ada (front of house) was lovely and helpful 5 Stars from us ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Possibly the worst Chinese meal l have ever had. The duck was basically fat with bits of meat attached. The beef chow mein looked like it was reconstituted meat in bisto gravy. Not only this, but I got diarrhoea as a result - no kidding. Avoid like the plague.

Beef curry was really oily and watery, chips tasted and smelt like they had been cooked in old oil! Hoisin sauce that came with the duck was lovely and thick the extra pot was separated and oily! Usually lovely food from here but this time was very poor!!

Was dubious of ordering as I'm not from around this area (am staying in castle hill hospital) and so glad I took the chance I ordered sweet n sour chicken hk..and it was the best ever not at all vinegary. Lovely thick sauce and the prawn toast is to die for..highly recommended

Ordered in the shop, got food home to find it’s not correct. Rang the shop to be offered 10% off next order. Why would I go and spend more money there when tonight’s food is going in the bin, as it’s not what I ordered and no good to me. No offer to rectify their mistake this evening and I’m sorry but 10% off a further when I’ve paid full price for a wasted meal is not good customer service!! Avoid unless you want to pull open all the knotted bags in the shop to check sit right before then juggling it home!!

Food was delicious, this was the first time we have ordered from here but it will not be the last, possibly the best take away we have ever had. The owners were so welcoming when you enter and I left with a smile because of them.

Found this takeaway on Google. So glad we did. We had special crispy chilli and house special green pepper and black bean, egg fried rice and curry sauce. The service was amazing as soon as we walked in everyone was super friendly. We ordered and went for a walk. Food didn’t take too long. It was full of flavour!! Very generous with the meats. The stand out for me was the special crispy chilli. I wasn’t a fan of the curry sauce but that’s a personal preference my only reason for saying that is I like it a bit more spicy. If we ever find ourselves back in this area again I would definitely return.

Food was ok, cooked fresh and most items were tasty, but staff busy having an extended argument while cooking which was unfortunate, and the place looked a little tired.

We got egg fried rice and beef and mushroom beef chow mein went down to the sea front to eat it ended up putting it in the bin. Never again 😒

We decided to have a Chinese I really fancied one big mistake this used to be my favourite one in hull now its the worst. Curry sauce like jelly 😐 Chips looked like they had been warmed up from night before and very hard 😐 And everything was very greasy it looked like a bottle of cooking oil had been poured into the bag it arrived in. 😡 DEFINITELY WON'T BE ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN 😒

Used this takeaway numerous times, never had an issue. Bought 2 meals tonight, one was fine the other had pieces of chicken in it that were seriously undercooked. Absolutely disgusting, wish I could add the pictures we took of it. We will never use this place again, we could have been seriously ill. We were offered a replacement meal, who the hell would accept that after what we were subject to.

Ordered special chowmein the one with sauce.. only got plain noodles and onion... szwhan chicken but think it was chicken chop suey as had carrots cabbage brocoli in and had no colour no taste. The bbq spare ribs was dry and unchewable spring rolls supposed to be meat but was veg... for £27 it was a waste of money have used them for years but no more....

Excellent quality. Just picked our order up and it was gorgeous. The plain chow mein was perfect. The pork & chicken peking style from Chefs special was so good! Good size portions too. Will definitely be ordering again.

Just been there ordered shanghai chicken a Spanish omelette some fried rice and carton of curry and prawn crackers the meal was awful the chicken was so tough it was like leather. The omelette was salty the chips seemed like they was three days old the curry sauce had the consistency of concrete will never return absolute disaster

We have used this takeaway for years as a family and have always highly recommended it to others. However the standard has dropped dramatically,prices have not been updated to the most recent paper or online menu which is poor service and misleading. We ordered last week and the food was luke warm at best. The prawn toast was so well done it was unpleasant to eat,its a real shame this place is going down hill as its so handy to were we live.. Won't be using again useless things change.

Have used this place for many years, however after this evening I will never use again. The price has increased and quality has decreased. When order arrived I asked driver where prawn crackers were and was told don’t know ring shop. (I confirmed when I ordered that I would get them) I called shop explained I had not received prawn crackers the guy pretended not to hear me then tried to explain the girl should not told me I would have got prawn crackers as I was 10 pence short, finally got told they would resend but had to pay the £3 delivery 😡. Asked to speak to manager same can’t hear u told me next time I could have extra bag free. Poor service, average at best meal.will never use again 🤬🤬 something has changed has gone right down use to be very good .....shame.

Ordered today at 5:35 and was advised delivery within 60 minutes. After waiting until 6:51 I decided to call and the young lad went to the kitchen and then advised they were just finishing off cooking the food, however, they needed to wait for the driver. Food eventually arrived at 7:15. Upon opening the food all the packaging was wet as if the food had been sat for a while and was at best lukewarm. To be honest it was only a small order 8 inch pizza box so nothing too extensive so I’m not sure what it took over an hour to cook even if there were orders in before mine. Will be going back to Regent just down the road. Will be avoiding going forward and would just say to anyone else who uses be prepared to wait and for average standard food

Chips and gravy was £5.30 each, tasted like it was sat there for a week. Curry and chips tasted vile. Will never be going here again, save your money and go somewhere else, corner shop 30seconds away from this shop would be better

Good food but you order for pickup and they tell you 20 minutes, so you get there in 20 minutes to collect and wait another 20 minutes for the food to be ready, this happens every time, just tell me the actual time so I can wait at home instead. Also, the staff are very cold towards the customers, there's no thanks for the custom..

To be honest at the start it tasted brilliant I got the salt and pepper chips and the crispy chicken balls it all went well until I got home and I started pooing my organs out and then a few hours later I started throwing up everywhere and I felt awful

Usually love this place. Ordered sweet chicken balls last month and they were delicious light and fluffy. Ordered them tonight and they are well done and very greasy. Not what I had been dreaming of all day. On the plus the hubby ordered thai style house special and he is currently shovelling it down happily.

Ordered Beef & Cashew nuts. Sadly beef had very little flavour, however this may of been due to the gravy which unlike most beef and cashew gravy that is a rich substantial gravy, this poured from the tray with the consistency of water...

First of all, woman immediately made it clear that credit card costs too much money for her to process, and it must be a debit card, immediately made me feel uncomfortable. I placed the order and said i’d be back in 10 minutes. When i returned she made a passing comment “i thought you wasnt coming back” it was 9minutes i was gone for. Now to the food… Chicken balls the size of nuggets, only 6 in a box, horrible. Beef in black bean sauce was a gloopy mess, hardly any beef. Disgusting. Overpriced and taking short cuts on food quality. Outrageous that you can charge the money you do for that food. Will never be using again.

Food was really nice and tasty - thoroughly enjoyable. No credit card option though which would have been good as I only had an overseas debit card - no major drama though as there was a cash machine across the road.

First of all the lady who serves is incredibly rude. She got really quite nasty when I made a point that they didn’t have a takeaway menu! Her reply was a snapped “they cost too much”. So... the food, it was quite simply awful. As someone else has alluded to already, the duck was dry and inedible. The curry was salty and gloopy with lumps in it. The chicken content was very mean and the the portion was 90% onion! A cheapskate trick. The fried noodles we had ordered were all burnt with shards of hard black burnt food ??? Off the wok? Not sure but it wasn’t eaten. I rang and complained to be met with a tirade of abuse from the ill tempered woman who slammed the phone down! Lastly, I reckon this Chinese takeaway is 10-20% more expensive than most. Overall it was an awful experience and I will not return.

Having been a customer of this establishment for around 25 years, which still has the original ownership and people involved, I can say that during those years the food served has been enjoyed by my wife and myself, and sometimes our family many times over. One or two hiccups along the way when for some reason we thought that our food was not of their usual standard. It was a rare occurrence and having sampled other Chinese establishments offering we soon went back Ocean. We knew that overall Ocean was hard to beat.

This is the wife's favourite Chinese, she loves a spicy curry and this place does a nice deep hot one. Not my favourite unfortunately, I like a nice sweet and sour but this one is a bit too much sour and not enough sweet for me. It's all down to personal taste I suppose. They do a nice foo Yung. That's what I tend to get lol.

We ordered Sliced Beef Fried wide rice noodles, shredded chicken fried rice and Egg waffles. The taste of Sliced Beef Fried wide rice noodles was so great that just like in Hong Kong. The Fried rice was good and the Egg waffles was excellent! The smell so great and tasty. The boss was very kind and gave us 3 vegetarian spring rolls free! It was hot, crispy and tasty. I definitely will go there again when I have time.

Order for delivery and didn't realized they r very far from me but the food was still hot when arrived. I ordered a few Hong Kong dishes and the taste is authentic Hong Kongese style, this is as legit as I can get for my homesickness. (Recommending Egg Foo Yung with Curry sauce, so yummy 😋 ) The Egg Waffles was perfect, and I mean it scores 100 for me, not only the taste is legit HK style, the taste is the best i can get even in Hong Kong (such a marvelous work on the waffle batter). I strongly recommend everyone to try it out. The delivery time was reasonable so I assume they made my order immediately.

I didn’t expect that in addition to Birmingham and Manchester, there is a place called HULL, which has a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant where you can eat all kinds of Hong Kong tea restaurant food. I was very touched because the owner is from Hong Kong with all family members to run this restaurant. The decoration inside the store is very nice. It's really nice to take a car and visit it when you have time. Finally, where can you eat clay pot rice and egg waffles………..etc.

Had a delivery and I’m sorry to say this is the worse chines we have ever had, everything was brown and tasted burnt, we got 2 meals special chow main , special fried rice , no meet in them we found 1 piece of beef and 2 tiny prawns , everything was the same colour, mixed starter was very greasy and chicken balls burnt, 2 tiny ribs with no meat on them and 1 chips cost £45 plus tip and it’s in the bin absolutely disgusting , never again

Delicious authentic Hong Kong style food. Ordered for the whole family. Chow Mein and Beef Brisket were delicious. The Spring Roll, Claypot Rice (with sauce), and Baked Pork Chop Rice were out of this world. Highly highly recommend trying. The restaurant owners were especially kind and hospitable, and helpful when I asked for recommendations. Thank you so much and look forward to ordering again when I visit Hull!

Absolutely disgusting - food was cold, the order was wrong, chips were hard, duck was burnt. We spent £33 for a meal with friends and threw most of it in the bin. When I rang to complain the person I spoke to said they couldn't do anything as he was just covering. Would have given 0 stars if possible and will never go there again

Somewhat short of horrendous. We ordered special fried rice and chicken fried rice. Fair to say the rice wasn't even cooked, I have literally just thrown it in the bin. It was up there with rice pudding. Certainly not fried. Would definitely NOT recommend. - Biggest waste of £15 in my life and definitely the worst take away I have had to date

The food is amazing but the lady who took my order on the phone was incredibly rude and has been on numerous occasions.

Chips in chilli salt are amazing. Quick service and great value for money. Never been disappointed apart from on Mondays when it's closed! 😅

I got this recommendation from my son in law after dropping my grandaughter back to Hessle and thoroughly enjoyed good portions,and service and from Hessle back to hull it was still piping hot.they have a delivery service too.

Tried for the 1st time today, so glad we did. Highly recommend. We had the beef satay which was delicious. Also loved the salt and pepper chicken wings. You definitely won't be disappointed. This will now be our favourite new place. Staff so friendly and we also for a free piece of cheesecake which was lush

1st visit while in the area. Great and quick service, food was fantastic. Salt and pepper box, good variety, great portion and a drink included. Highly recommend and will be returning when I'm next here.

Food ordered 10/01/24, prompt service as usual ready in 15 mins, part of the order was ok although not as nice as it used to be. Unfortunately one of our dishes was totally inedible the amount of chilli used was ridiculous. The dish does say it contains chilli, however it should still be edible. Left in the bowl was over 50 pieces of chilli from the small amount taken from the carton.

Not one for posting reviews but felt the need as feel our meal was a complete waste of money. Service was good, food was prompt and very hot. Unfortunately that’s the end of the good as the food itself was truly awful. Chicken chow mein had zero flavour, literally tasted of nothing! Noodles were boiled not fried and the mushrooms tasted like they had been sat in water for quite some time. The carrots and broccoli were identifiable by colour only as they tasted the same. Curry sauce had a kick but no actual curry flavour and the special curry was just poor in general. At £37 this was expensive in my view and made worse by the fact we didn’t actually eat it. Never again, very very poor quality.

It has been our go to Chinese for years, always quick and polite service and can't fault any of the food we've ever had. Large pancake rolls and the sweet and sour chicken hong style are beaut.

Not a regular, own a caravan in Easington and called on the way. We ordered a chicken fried rice, pork chow mein and sweet and sour chicken balls. While I appreciate every Takeaway will differ recipe wise I thought these dishes would be fail safe. How wrong was I? The noodles had been boiled not wok fried, the pork was in huge wedges and tough to chew, and the whole dish was tasteless.The chicken also had the weirdest texture, couldn't figure out why.There was also huge pieces of broccoli and carrots on the chow mein which was also a new one to me but not unpleasant. Very disappointed but lesson learned. Just wait till we get home! :)

Just tried the house special curry from this place and it's the worst I've tried from anywhere definitely don't recommend with only 3 small pieces of chicken and 3 king prawns which were not cooked thru properly at all the beef and pork were very fatty and tasted bland but there was a large amount of onions in which made it look a fuller curry but its not worth the price of £5.90. The camera never lies so they say, take a look for yourselfs. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

The last few times we’ve had food it’s been absolutely smothered in loads of salt . I like salt but this is awful wouldn’t recommend

I ordered a takeaway on 9th Sept at 6pm to collect shortly after. I asked for the dishes to have less salt and no onions. The young English girl on the phone repeated the order back to me. I replied and NO ONIONS.She said they don't put onions in the dishes you ordered. They obviously do otherwise I wouldn't need to specify no onions. Low and behold when the dish was collected and brought home the king prawn sweet and sour dish Hong Kong style had onions in it! So she obviously did not pass my message on to the kitchen. I rang up to complain and I spoke to the same girl. She said they usually don't put onions in. I said she should have passed the message on. I told her I was unhappy and would be unlikely to order from them again. As it is a 2 mile round trip and I don't drive, I would not be going back to exchange the dish. Not that she even suggested a way to resolve it. There was a thunderstorm just at that time. She did not try to rectify the issue or at least offer to bring me the correct dish, but she didn't. Thankfully I don't have a severe allergy to onions but I cannot eat them for medical reasons. The smell alone and the taste of the dish flavoured with onions makes me want to gip. I hope management see this and provide her with staff training. If a customer asks for a dish to have something not added then that message should be passed on to the kitchen staff who actually prepare the food. She should not assume she knows what ingredients go into dishes.

1st visit had Singapore chow mein curry sauce and prawn crackers. The portion size was very good piping hot and tasty, definitely will go back.

Ordered from here, food came all wrong, rang up to ask for fresh food and correct the items. I was told they could give me the food that was wrong back fresh but the food that was right I would have to keep. Why would I want cold chips and cold curry with my Chinese? Very disappointed that the food couldn’t have been all fresh when it was no fault of my own.

Our favourite Chinese take away. Staff are friendly and efficient. The food is lovely, tastes are consistent over the years we have been getting food from here and unlike other Chinese takeaways we have tried, the food is not over salted. So many others have left us with a raging thirst and insomnia! Obviously can't vouch for every meal on the menu, but what we've had has been great.

Everytime i have ordered from Victoria City, it has been worth every penny. The food is beautiful and a good portion size. The delivery staff always make me feel as a customer should. I love this place.

I'm going to be honest. I've been having takeaways for years now, and nothing can beat this Chinese place. Back in the day I wouldn't mind having my lunch money take off me . But if it was taken before I ate here? I wouldn't have any of it... This place is the best. Food: 10/10 Delivery: 9/10 Service: 10/10.

To be honest, this is the first time ordering from this Chinese. I hate to be critical but want to be honest! Service and food delivery were excellent absolutely 5 stars. Food pricing is definately fair. Food delivered on time. Polite and friendly delivery opperative. To the food. Honey ribs, over cooked not nice to eat, left four (was hungry, eat 2). Pork fried rice. Please, just please, what is it with garden peas, don't want them and really far to many. Pork portions were large and tough. Sweet and sour chicken balls, excellent, tasty not fatty and filling. Nice portion. Prawn toast, yep excellent, nice thick and chunky, juicy and not overcooked!

Had take away before lockdown was absolutely amazing , price good and food was fresh. What's left after 2 lockdowns it's just good attitude . Price went up a lot and quality down. Tried twice to make sure it wasn't just a 1 off thing - crispy chicken wings were old and duck with veggies was mainly fat with onion ,mushrooms and sauce. What I used to pay £13 ,now I pay £18 and quality was bad both times. Not getting anymore ... Hate to criticise as I do think staff is nice and friendly

Wasn't best pleased as few of the king prawns needed longer time in pan apart from that I rate . Order the same again tonight and tonight was bang on glad I've given then a second chance as I wasn't going to but someday we all have issues and dont function properly so now I'm giving them the benefit to cook my food again next time when I fancy the same... hopefully it hood as tonight's order

Been waiting 2 and a half hours so far and they've took the phone off the hook so we can't even ring them. Let's see if it shows up 🤷‍♂️ *update, phones been off the hook for 30 minutes so far. Very unprofessional. Guessing they're getting a lot of complaints. Piece of advice, don't take more orders than you can handle. Even if they answered the phone to let us know it isn't coming, we could sort something else. Instead 3 hours on we're sat in limbo. *second update - they still have the phone off the hook, been ringing every minute for an hour. Starting to lose faith that it's ever going to arrive. If only they could let us know *third update - turned up after 3 and a half hours. Was quite nice to be fair

Been ordering from here for ages,this is our favoutite Chinese take away.Usually food is good,but yesterday's order was a disapoointment 😔Ordered crispy shredded chicken eith extra vedges,we always go for this.Unfortunately chicken was very dry,you could tell it wasn't fresh,it was preheated after 2-3 days,and no chilli sauce,all dish was dry and hard to chew.Also ordered chicken chow mein wasn't fresh either.

Usually really good. Have used them for the past 3 years. However tonight I feel I was let down by the service. I ordered 1 main meal, that's all and had waited 51 minutes. I rang to see how much longer it would be, to be told another 20 minutes. I find this very poor indeed. Also this was from 8:30pm till gone 9:30pm so not at peak time either. Then when on the phone the lady argued with me. Very disappointed.
