Oh dear. Where to begin. Only called here because this was a friend's favourite fish and chip shop. Not a great location to be honest. Parking is at a premium and the road immediately outside is narrow. Unprepossessing exterior and internally it needs someone like my old mum to scrub it from top to bottom. Some positives. There were four staff on duty even on a Sunday afternoon, a dedicated fryer, who still managed to burn a basket of fries, two behind counter staff, and someone running between the fryers and a room in the back. All had positive energy and the two behind the counter were very professional. I was stuck behind three large orders and they apologised for the length of my wait. So far, so positive. The three large orders that had gone out looked to have good deep fried fish in but my was the worst I've had....ever....maybe second worst. As the counter man put it in the box my regular haddock looked enormous. What it lack though was depth. At it's thickest point it was 5mm! This led to the most unusual circumstance I've ever experienced in a fish and chip shop. Overcooked fish with undercooked, in areas nearly raw, batter. Some achievement but not one I'd care for again. My haddock tasted like tilapia, not accusing them of substitution rather it was that dry. Moisture was literally sucked out of my mouth trying to eat it. My mate would be turning in in grave. To finish on a more positive note the chips were superb, the peas were great and had plenty of sauce which helped a bit. I see it's reviews are mixed. The owners seem to respond to most reviews. My observation is if you're expecting a 'award winning' fish and chips you venture elsewhere

Booked online via the app, table for 3 for 2pm. 40% off mains, enjoy a drink on us. Table was ready indoors, we opted for outdoors, sun was shining, lovely day. Expected 45 min delay on food was signposted. My oh my, order went through with the waitress superbly, must’ve been a whole 20mins until we were served max. The food was absolutely fabulous. Very popular chippy. Always call here when passing over this way. One of the best in the UK. Delicious juicy fish is always cooked fresh to order- Real cod/Haddock sometimes hake available. Chips good sizes done in dripping the traditional way. Crispy batter. Great deals inc. 10% Blue Light discount. Can get very busy but lovely staff. HRH Queen Camilla has been here. Started enjoying then remembered to take a photo!

Stopped for food on the way home from Flamborough. First time, but highly recommend by my wife, as she's been several times previously. Batter is thin and crispy, almost like a tempura. Got two regular haddock and chips with a side for £8.99 each, which we took down to eat at the seafront. Friendly service, although we arrived at peak time on a Saturday evening, so had a little (but not unreasonable) wait for our food. Very tasty and good value. Will definitely return again soon.

Far from the best I've had. I'd say better than average at best, but my 85 yr old mum said 2 stars at best. Chips seemed to be a bit leathery like they'd been recooked or left for a while

Fantastic chippy! If we're in the area this is one of a handful of chips shops we choose for our fish and chips. We had a special, which was a regular haddock and chips, and small side of mushy peas or curry for £8.99. Great value, hot and delicious. Recommended.

Restraint and takeaway. The restaurant is very well done out and very clean. The service is excellent with a relaxed and not rushed atmosphere. Large portion size, the fish and chips were not greasy and good quality. Large pot of tea or coffee with the fish and chips. Card payments are accepted. Booking is probably recommended at peak times.

After some time finally we got to test this place as they hold some awards so time to visit. Went there with family and with such great expectations decided to use restaurant and we were almost amazed. Food was great and such tasty fish we cleared our plates and enjoyed it so well. But this could of been such a tragedy as entering restaurant saw 2/3 of place empty yet staff asked for booking and then let us waiting feeling unwelcome and pretty sure to leave as with such empty place they couldn't decide whether to allow us to spend some cash. Luckily someone allowed us to seat. Food is definitely super tasty but staff got some homework to do. Overall well worth the visit as option for either restaurant or takeaway.

Absolutely delicious! The chips were perfectly cooked – crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, with a subtle peppery flavor that made them stand out. The fish was fresh and flaky, cooked just right so it melts in your mouth. You can really tell it was high quality and freshly prepared. Service was quick and the atmosphere was simple and relaxed – just what you’d want for a classic fish and chips experience. Highly recommended!

Lovely little chippy, extremely busy both in the restaurant and in the takeaway, we didn’t book but I imagine in the holidays and weekends it would be a good idea to book. Food was delicious and I even took some home in a doggy bag as the smaller portions was a little too big for me. Fantastic gluten free options and very knowledgeable staff regarding food allergies. Well priced would highly recommend.

Went today after a day at the beach as they do gluten free(yeah my life sucks). Was gonna do takeaway as near closing time but thought we’d ask on table. They were nothing but accommodating. The 4 people on the floor offered excellent service while ensuring I got my gf fish and some gf vinegar. Food was amazing we all loved it. And was great they all said bye to my little boy as we left. He had a huge smile. Highly recommended.

We stopped for lunch passing through from Fairview lodges Withernsea to Bridlington on a day out. We both had the fish special. Perfect serving- nice chunky chips and good quality fish. Couldn’t have eaten more if we wanted to.(Photo’s are deceiving- bigger than it looks) Curry sauce and gravy were really nice also. Only downside was our dispenser drinks were room temperature but this wouldn’t stop us visiting again if we were in the area. Staff were friendly and clearly work hard.

This is the best fish and chips I have ever had, even gluten free, in my opinion the GF batter is better than the standard batter (yes I had both) easily a 10/10

Lovely fish and chips with a couple of sides. Regular fish and chips and a cup of tea and we were full. Our favourite place (no Dad joke intended) in Hornsea. Update 18.8.25 Another lovely meal today. Pictures tell it all. A short wait t understandable as it was really busy.

Stopped by Sullivans today and had the best fish and chips I’ve tasted in years! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service from Liz, Emily, and Harry was outstanding, so friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely chat and left completely satisfied. It’s a real shame they closed the Beverley branch down, honestly, the standard of other fish and chip shops around there is shocking. For what’s it’s worth I’d seriously reconsider opening up again. Can’t recommend this place enough, I’m from Beverley, and I’ll definitely make the trip when I need my fish and chip fix.

We hadn't tried here for around 8 years, due to a bad experience. But we decided to give it another go. Staff were lovely, food was delicious and everything arrived quickly and hot. The Halibut was amazing.

My second visit here, and it definitely didn't disappoint; absolutely delicious 😋 fish and chip. Restaurant was immaculately clean and decorated beautifully. Service was prompt and efficient; nothing was too much trouble.

Really friendly staff. Although they weren't able to accommodate a milk allergy, they were really helpful and apologetic. Nice and clean restaurant. Food served quickly and was nice and hot, and tasty. One of our friends ordered sausage and chips, but it was not battered as we'd normally expect at a Fish and Chips restaurant (but we had forgot to specify either way).

Absolutely awful, as usual. Over priced and the product was below par. I order two Hot Dogs for £8.90 each for me and a work colleague. I advised against using Dope Burger due to my previous bad experience but he insisted. The attached image is my Hot Dog. I threw it in the bin. Overly salty and clearly a cheap hot dog taken from a jar of hot dog's in brine. Hot dog skin was tough, sauce flavourless and the hot dog was close to being cold. I'm 100% done with Dope Burger. The last time I used them I paid £24 for two burgers which arrived over an hour and a half late, again cold when they arrive and mine went in the bin. Read the reviews and stop using this place. I could have gone to my local sandwich shop, had a really nice jacket spud with home made Chilli for less than £5 and... it would have been hot. Dope Burger clearly have no pride in their service.

Ordered delivery through their website, food got delivered with in 30 minutes very fast but burger was raw pink, binned, probably won’t be ordering again. Payed £39 to received raw food!

Great experience everytime I come. Absolutely love the Black & Blue burger! It’s great that they offer so many gluten free options too! Loyal customer since opening 10 years ago! I’ll keep coming back.

So over the last 2 years I’ve been to the dope burgers in hull several times, normally with my partner (who is celiac) and think it’s fair to say I know how to put the order in for her gluten free meal. However on the 21st of April 2025 I ordered hers as normal. And when I arrived at the shop was treated well etc. was told 2 minutes for food, she wanted a DFC pulled pork, with gem lettuce, pickles and tomato, in a gluten free brioche. The guy preparing the food was nice but seemed “spaced out” if you know 👀. Fast forward I get home, she has one pickle, one bit of tomato and no lettuce, and we have found out the hard way of her being sick that the bun was not gluten free. This is our only bad experience but I know it’s going to knock her confidence with dope eat franchise, and she loved it all aswell was one of the only places she’s felt safe to eat at.

Initially we had an issue with our order, but they dealt with it well and went above to sort it which was appreciated. Food very good quality. Not sure why milkshakes taste different to wagwan when its the same product though.

Ordered 2 burgers and a hot dog and chips for delivery. The burgers do NOT look like the pictures they advertise and forgot the dipping sauce for one of the burgers, the hot dog bun came split in half and the toppings all over the tray. Overall it was cold and not enjoyable. They don’t like criticism either, I commented on one of the Facebook posts and had several comments underneath mine agreeing with the bad food. All negative comments have been deleted and only kept the good comments about the food. I would recommend to go to another burger place as the pictures are not accurate and lacking taste. All the positive google reviews seem very similar to one another almost as if they have been told what to write. This is a genuine review from a genuine customer. I will not be going back again.

Fish and chips were tasty and nice and fresh, but I was made to wait nearly 15 minutes for 2 portions and there was only 1 customer in front of me. I don't mind waiting but it would be nice to be told in advance. Customers after me got there food earlier and the staff were more chatty and friendly towards them. Upon finally getting my food there was no apology for my wait or thank you for my custom. I'll try one of the many other chippies when I'm next in the area.

We have been going regularly to Gabby’s for over 20 years and have NEVER had a bad meal. Chips are spot on and fish is battered and fried to perfection and always good generous portions. If I had to complain it would be that I personally preferred the chips when fried in dripping not that the chips fried in rapeseed oil are bad. We recommend Gabby’s to anyone that asks for best chippy in Bridlington.

We are local but it's the first time we've been to this chippy! We ordered a large fish &chips and munch box..omg the amount of food is unbelievable very large portions!! And it was delicious, definitely be back! 😋 Big bonus having a vegetarian/vegan choice 👍

Great vegan offering, having been vegan for over a year, this is the first time I have had vegan “fish” and chips. They were super helpful with our needs. The batter was lovely and crisp and the curry sauce was lovely and tangy. One of the best!

An absolute jem of a Fish and chip shop , hidden away in a quiet street in the Old Town of Bridlington . Gabby's fry their fish and chips in vegetable oil and are fried seperately to other meats they sell, so its Halal diet friendly. I can't fault the service ! Such friendly , accommodating people, I love that it's a family run business. We arrived with approx 15 mins to closing time and placed a large order for 4 families . They very kindly accommodated our request and stayed open a little later especially for us. They ran out of cod so we had haddock instead . The fish and chips were piping hot and absolutely delicious! The chips nice and chunky. The fish was crispy on top and flaky inside and just scrumptious! Huge thanks to the lovely Cora, Caitlyn and Richard for accommodating us so late in the day and taking our Halal diet restrictions so seriously. I'm just sad that we've only just discovered you now. Higly recommend them , please do give them a visit especially if you're in Bridlington and on a Halal diet. Great food and friendly service !

AMAZING. a real family run business, everyone was so friendly and helpful especially as it was their first day back after their holiday. As requested on the website I called ahead as I needed both vegan and gf food. Everything is cooked in vegetable oil, the fryers are all separate and very well maintained. The portions were massive and I appreciated the advice to only order 1 large chips not 2! I had a pea fritter for the first time in about 10 years and I could have cried with happiness. The food was delicious, I felt that my allergies and dietary requirements were catered for amazingly and it was lovely to meet such a wonderful family who work so hard and take the pride that they deserve in what they do. Sadly I don't love locally but I will be returning whenever I am on the east coast.

Recently ordered on line to go collect an order. It took 20 minuites navigating to order for 3 of us . When we turned up to collect it , they THEN started cooking it so might as well of just walked in, as we still waited 15 minutes inside for it. We picked up a tub of american chip spice as we couldnt find it on line when ordering. Once we got the order we headed back to Thearne. On getting our orders out they looked nice but they had got our sides wrong and my can of dr peppers was missing, ahhhh , too far to go back and get it so i had to do with out. Nice portions and very tasty and will go again but will check my order before we leave next time. Place was smart looking but a few chips on floor where staff where. Found it funny that when we paid cash for the chip spice the girls couldnt open the till so another member showed her the trick. Lol. X loads of parking and out door seating . Massive umbrellas looked nice. X Second time using the place , we wanted to sit down. Great kids soft play area that you can just let the kids go have fun and you can see them from your seats. Reasonably priced for restaurant side just disappointed your paying extra for gravy etc. Chips a bit scaby too. £2.29 for a cup of tea is a bit steep too. No napkins or anything similar which I thought would of been available. Clean loo area and tidy kids areas. X

Very impressed! We bought 2 large fish, 3 medium fish, 2 patties and one chips for £29 shared between 5 adults. Batter was light and crispy. Fish was fresh and big; they couldn't fit in a box as they were too long. Patties weren't too overpowering with herbs and the chips were a big portion. We went for the drive-thru and the service was great too. Thank you. Keep up with the good work!

Visited here after being at cineworld with the family and was really surprised and impressed at how good the restaurant looked. It's very welcoming with a large open plan area with wood and marble flooring and looks refreshingly out of place in a really positive way. It's quite elegant! The service was really quick and the food was absolutely amazing. Fish was cooked perfectly! We had a lovely server at our table called Jemima, who was particularly attentive and made sure we were all happy with our orders and asked if we needed extra bits like sauces etc. Jemima was one of those 'perfect' servers, appeared when you needed one, wasn't intrusive, softly spoken and genuinely helpful. Very good experience at Papas and we'll definitely be visiting again.

To be to the point, waited 50mins for luke warm food, cold curry sauce which was returned 3 times, poor service from no where to be seen manager. Instead sending young over worked underpaid staff out to us to deal with our complaints ( despite asking for the manager ). I felt sorry for the staff, it wasn't their fault. We got a complimentary pudding and drink! Like who wants to have a pudding after that! And....the fish tank in the entrance needs condemning! It was tiny and filthy, those poor fish need re homing! Cruel!!

Awful food was all burnt. All gone to waste and only decide thing was a breadcake, pea and gravy. Will never buy from here again and I wouldn't advise it to anyone

Just left after a great meal for my Dad's 69th birthday. Staff were awesome and super nice. Food was amazing. I can't recommend Papas highly enough.

Ate here mid week and the service was the best we have received in any Papa's. Everything was really nice and they provided GF battered halloumi which isn't always an option at other places.

Called today and asked for large cod and chips, I was astounded when I opened the box when I got home. 3 small pieces of fish , guys you need to go to a fish shop and learn what a large cod and chips looks like. Diabolical!! If I had opened the box at the shop I would have handed it straight back !!

The fish was tough and looked like it was fried the day before and simply warmed up. The chips were okay, but had better. It's a shame because a year ago, we had a nice meal from there, so something has obviously gone wrong.

One girl trying her best and dealing with an overrun of customers that they clearly were not up to coping with. Snail pace service and total disorganisation. I’m sure it’s better on quieter days, felt sorry for all involved when trying to get my fish and chips tonight which took c45 minutes (some people I think were waiting even longer but it was hard to work out who was next in their “system”)

Used to use this chippy a lot but not been for 15 years and what a disappointment. Small haddock,chips n peas and a dandelion n burdock just over £13. I wouldn’t mind but the fish was barely battered but well over cooked underneath. One half of the fish was ok the other overcooked. Used to be a great chippy especially the fish. Not a patch on what it used to be and can get way better in Hull for less than half of that price for a small special. Disappointing.

Not from the area,walked past Tuesday teatime and got 2 lots of chips,beans and a gravy and was absolutely lovely..Went again today and a totally different story,,,got a dozen or so chips that was edible rest was mostly scrap hard things, sausage was nice,,fish was massively overcooked,,the carton beans you can't really get these wrong,,would have been nice to taste the mushy peas but didn't even put them in the bag ...hey ho !

Dishonest so will not be back, which is a shame as the portions are pretty good. I asked for a small fish and chips. On the menu both Cod and Haddock are £5.70. Chips are £2.50. This comes to £8.20 but was charged £8.60. They then had the cheek to ask for an extra 50p for ketchup which would have been fine if they hadn't just overcharged me!

Had a day in Withernsea and although I wasn't there for long, I was absolutely determined to have Fish and Chips at the seaside. Due to a strange twist of events, I wasn't able to go in to the chippy myself, but my dear old mother went in and ordered for us - and they were very accommodating, did a nice fresh cod for myself, a roe (which a lot of seaside towns don't do!) and two hearty portions of chips all for about £15 give or take. Absolutely recommended, food was cooked to perfection. Bang on.

Came here on a school trip, we all ordered a lot of food and the staff were kind despite all the stress. It was very cheap for the food you're getting and it was very nice, so it is great value. Probably the best chippy I've had in a while. :)

First thing you notice is the friendly staff! All very chat and helpful. The food is good and the portions are generous, to top it off it’s all very well priced. Atmosphere is nothing special but that’s what I would expect from a takeaway

We asked for large haddock with chips and curry twice in the seating area. It was less than 10 minutes, fast, tasted really good, fresh. Also latte and bottle of coca cola. This cost just over £20 which represents excellent value. Thank you very much. Very friendly staff. Clean toilet facilities. Came back two weeks later for dinner 7pm to 8pm. Ordered large haddock, chips and peas, plus large haddock, chips and curry. Plus 500ml coke bottle and a cappuccino. Cost £22.75 Arrived within 5 minutes or so this time. Really hot and tasted fresh. Very pleased once again. Knew what to expect and wasn't disappointed.

Served beautiful food by Danny and Saffy. (I believe I’ve got there names correct) They were both extremely polite and accommodating to myself and my gluten free son who has never had fish and chips before. I didn’t get the name of the Young man behind the fryer but I would like to thank him for making sure there was no cross contamination. I had seen him washing his hands thoroughly anytime he went to the side of the fryer which I was told was the gluten free part. Would highly recommend to anyone. Perfectly cooked food and brilliant service. Made more impressive by the fact they worked so professionally while very busy and in extremely hot conditions.

Deep Blue Fish & Chips at wetwang is a very popular chippy and always busy. The service is quick and the staff are very friendly. The fish is cooked to order and very good the chips are excellent. There is plenty of choice on the menu, and homemade fish cakes are to be recommended. There is a nice outside seating area and plenty of parking. There is also seating by the pond. I have often stopped here and never been disappointed.

Sorry but the food was awful and we won't be back. Fish and Chips are now very expensive so we look at them as a treat. We feel we wasted our money here....terrible ....food tasted overcooked, peas just tasted odd.....sort of smokey. Avoid ...not the place it used to be

Great fish and chips for a reasonable price. A solid choice if you have the craving for a good chippy. I had the light bite option with mushy peas and it was a generous serving, the regular must be gut busting!

Just ordered a portion of chips for myself and my husband they were absolutely awful. They were only just warm and looked like yesterdays that had been warmed up to the point of being burnt. Never had such awful chips they were disgusting and most of them went in the bin. This did used to be a decent fish and chip but it certainly isn’t now. AVOID as they are also quite costly for what you get.

Used to love coming here as the fish and chips were seond to none when it was Whiteheads. Been today and it was terrible. The chips must have been triple cooked and hard and the fish warmed up. Also the tables were all dirty and not wiped down. Won't be going there again.

Ordered via the app to ensure when we arrived the food was ready, which it was! I was greeted by a couple of lovely ladies on the front counter, in a nice, clean and modern chip shop! Once home (only 5 minutes or so away), and starting to start digging into our order (lite bite meal and chicken bites), the chips and fish were somewhat flavourless, the only things with flavour in were the chicken bites and curry sauce. I’d go again, I’d definitely go again, hopefully there is more flavour next time!

Visited on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The young man behind the counter was really friendly and served us at our table. The food was cooked to order and came out very fresh — honestly some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in quite a while. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars, mainly because I felt it was a bit pricey: £45 for three sausages, one regular fish, three portions of chips, a side of onion rings, and two drinks. Maybe I’m just out of touch with 2025 seaside fish and chip prices, but it felt more like restaurant pricing — and while the service was good, it wasn’t a full restaurant experience. That said, if I could, I’d probably rate it a 4.5/5. I’ll definitely be going back!

Busy Bees has become our regular Friday fish night place. Or plaice! The food is all cooked to order. It's tasty and reasonably priced. Excellent service. I'm sorry about the photo though, my camera skills won't win any prizes!

Looks on the inside but as soon as u order the staff are very rude and paying £6 for seating than finding out they also up the charges on the menu from just riding to go The food is small and overrated. The sausage itself tased worser the more u chewed the chips where undercooked

This is what these guys call a fish. I’ve had thicker pancakes, and it was chewy, much like Plaice. £10.70 for this. Don’t bother again.

This used to be one of the best chippies in Bridlington (not anymore) we had fish and chips and they were terrible please don't waste your money. We also got upset stomach's after we had eaten some of the meal we threw most of it away.

Charged me £6 just to sit down, not even asking if we would like to eat in or take away. So we assumed there was no cost to eat-in. Prices vary a lot depending on whether you eat in or not. Not worth the price considering you can walk 5minuites down the road and get a much better meal for the same/if not less.

Food was excellent.Both had fish and chips and it was piping hot. The fish was beautifully cooked not greasy and proper chips.

The first kebab came cold and without chips or other people's meal. We took it back and they did rectify the problem. Compared to other German Kebab shops this one was not good. Messy and not great service. All this and the toilets were horrible!

The latest menu GDK has (Doner Rice Bowl) is seriously awesome 🤩!!! I love it so much but just hope they have different size (expecting larger than the size they sell). It’s delicious 🤤! Sorry the image here may not do justice to the appetite but it is really delicious trust me!

Food was really nice! Nice and hot… was wanting to try this place for a long time! Did not disappoint! All food smashed in! Only thing is that had to fight to get my chips from the bottom of the box haha

I had a bad experience at German Doner Kebab in Hull when ordering takeaway. I placed an order through the app, the money was deducted, but the app showed no orders, and the staff couldn't find it in their system. I waited 20 minutes for the manager, but they couldn't help and told me to email customer support, which I did, but no one responded. I was essentially scammed out of my money. After this, I decided to order at the counter, but the price was much higher than expected. I initially ordered for £16, but at the counter, I had to pay £22 for the same order. I specifically asked for a takeaway, but my order was delayed while they looked for the customer, even though I was standing right by the counter. When they finally brought my order, I reminded them that it was supposed to be takeaway. Everything was fine before, but after this incident, I strongly do not recommend this place.

Absolute vile place, I’ve eaten all over the world and this is honestly the worst food I’ve ever eaten!! the kebab looked like it had been chewed and spat into the box, was literally mush. If you eat from here regularly or eat from here at all in fact, your 100% a scruff…

A very bad experience, let me tell you why. The girl in front was very rude, she got my order wrong, I said I didn't want onions and tomatoes, instead she put what she wanted when I ordered today. She has an aggressive tone with people and I told her why she was doing this and she kept yelling and wouldn't let me say what I wanted to order. Plus she gave me all 3 orders wrong.

Takeaway fish and chip shop with about 5 tables inside we ate inside, exelent fish and chips, and a good pot of tea lovely helpful service. Dog friendly. Will call again next time in Pocklington

I've just had a fish butty and it was that nice and I ate it that fast I forgot to take picture of it beforehand for my review (hence the picture of an empty box after I demolished it). Substantial portion, cooked to perfection, excellent tasting crispy batter, juicy fish and great prices. If I'm in the area again I'll pop back in. Cheers!

I'm visiting friends in York (I'm from London)and for a treat on Friday we decided to have fish and chips.. we have had fish and chips from here before.whwn we got to the shop at Friday lunch time (05/01/24) the gentleman behind the counter informed us that our order would be about 10 minutes as he had just taken a big order ( about 15 orders for a company) that was fine.. there are chairs to sit on while you wait. Once our order was ready he let ups know .this chip shop also offers a dining in option. The fish and chips are a good size..I always end up halfing my portion and having fish and chips for lunch and dinner ...a good fish and chip restaurant

Visited here for fish and chips takeaway for two people, and it cost £25 for a standard fish and small chips. The fish was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious, the chips on the other hand were pale, insipid and a distinct lack of flavour. We left most of them as they weren't nice. So I can highly recommend the fish, but not the chips I'm afraid.

Best fish and chips I have had in a long time and I live by the sea side I asked for it to be done lightly battered and it was cooked to perfection The chips were also lovely and tasty Would not hesitate to visit again if in the area

My husband & I both had jumbo battered sausage each with a portion of chips to share & mushy peas washed down with a lovely hot cup of Yorkshire tea all for just under £12 we both really enjoyed our meal & will definitely be going back, service was excellent thank you all very much

Excellent as ever. Shame all the crab cakes had gone. July. 24. Fish excellent as ever, batter not as crispy as usual. We arrived at opening time, maybe the oil wasn't quite up to temperature. Crab cakes were even better than normal, more brown meat in I think. August 25. The large cod was superb and the chips were really good and quite crispy. Hubby had crab cakes and really enjoyed them. When you get to 81 and you've never had hake before, there's no better place to try it and on your birthday . It was delicious. I definitely recommend it.

Best fish and chips we have had in a long time. Had fish n chips in Bridlington on Wednesday, but these at Lighthouse fisheries blew it out of the water. We had the cod it was beautiful. Chips were lovely not greasy at all. If you are in the area do not hesitate to go well worth the money. No photos because we just ate it. Highly recommend.

Medium haddock and chips. Best I've had since I came to Yorkshire in 2012. Light crispy batter, good sized fresh fish. Super chips, crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. Can't wait to go back. Very impressed. Very clean, well kept premises. A few no-fuss sit in tables.

As a food delivery courier, I’ve been collecting orders from Frydays in Cottingham for a couple of years now, and unfortunately, the experience is consistently poor. I often ride 15 minutes to get here, only to be told the order hasn’t even been started—then I’m expected to wait another 20 minutes. This isn't a one-off situation; it's become the norm. Despite having a dedicated courier terminal, the staff regularly demand to see our personal phones to "verify" orders. This is not only inappropriate but also a breach of UK privacy laws and our courier platform’s user agreement. Our phones are private property and contain sensitive customer information that shouldn’t be shared. There is a particular female member of staff who is especially rude and dismissive toward couriers—even when we’re simply following procedure. Couriers are treated as if we're a nuisance or potential thieves rather than professionals helping them reach customers. The food itself? It’s fine—average fish and chips, nothing to write home about. So if you're a customer ordering through a delivery app and wondering why your food takes so long, this is likely the reason.

Honestly a complete waste of money. Chips are tasteless and not fresh. The patty batter tased of fish and the rest of the meals was just as poor. Gravy should run not that thick that you could slice the amount you need. Our teas ended up in the bin. Will never use this fish shop again!! How could you get it so wrong.

What would have cost £18 on a take away cost £31.50 cause we ate in. Fish was 5.95 to take out but 8.75 to eat in every item was quite a lot more in the cafe than takeaway. Would definitely go back but only for takeaway as the food was bang on fish chips and mushy peas huge fish, white as white and light batter.

I have been to the frying farmer many times for takeaway but decided to take my children in to sit down for dinner. The service was nothing but fantastic with the lady attending to us and bringing the children’s food quickly and listening to their requests, with a smile and compliments on how good my children were. The food is always great here but today deserves a special thanks and review on what a lovely experience we had. Thank you very much.

Just about everything was spot on. The food was absolutely cooked to perfection. So much so that I am intending to make another trip very soon. Tasty doesn’t do it justice.

A good place with helpful staff; went in the cafe area which was well laid out with a good toilet too! As cafe food is more expensive than same takeaway nosh we just had chip butty and chips with curry sauce. Overall good, but if concerned by cost, like us, choose the takeaway option (next time we will). Very handy location if you're a fan of viewing roads that have collapsed into the sea, like so many along this unique coastal area.

Best fish and chips we've had in a long time. Light crispy batter encasing large flakes of pearly white fish. All freshly cooked to order with minimum wait. Eaten on the sea front with the sound of gulls circling overhead added to the magic.

The curry sauce was next level — not your standard stuff, but full of flavour and the perfect addition to the chips. I ordered a large chips, two fish, two mushy peas, and a curry sauce — all for under £22, which is great value these days. Whenever we visit Bridlington, I make a point of stopping here. The food is always spot-on, and the staff are consistently helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!

Staff were ok but fish was seeping with water to the point where lifting the fish presented a stream of water at the other end to soak into all of the chips. Picture shows the soggy fish with skin still attached underneath. Horrible.

I am really funny with fish and chips: it's either perfect or inedible. Jack's Chippy serves up an absolutely perfect fish and chips. The snow white fish was meaty and flaky and the chips complemented it beautifully. The batter was flavoursome and crispy. The staff was really lovely as well. Highly recommend a visit if you're coming to Bridlington!

I had fish and chips here a few years ago, when it was the Naked Fish, and it was one of the best of my life! I still tell people about the experience all the time. Fish, chips, and mushy peas were perfection! Sad to hear that it's closed, but I'll definitely try out Jack's next time I'm in town.

In town for the weekend and was recommended this fish shop. We ordered two budget meals (£7.50/each), small chip, and kids sausage meal, and gravy (£24.10 in total) and were very pleased with the portions. Fish was nice and flaky, gravy was thick, and food was hot. Service was friendly and food didn't take long. Was only there a few minutes and staff knew almost everyone who came in so it must have a nice, loyal customer base. Chips were a little greasy and fish was a bit dark as if the oil needed to be changed. But everyone was happy with their food and we would go back.

Quick trip in here after blood donors before they shut at 8pm.. ordered two medium cod with one portion of chips to split . Excellent chips and very consistent with quality.

The food was nice to be honest, but the either the price board behind the counter is out of date or the person behind the till doesn't how to calculate properly. I ordered medium fish and chips, large sausage,chip buttie,curry sauce which came to £19.95 but going off prices on the board it should of come to around £16.95.

I went there in June whilst visiting friends and had a yummy-yummy meal with them sitting outside on the provided tables and benches. The freshly prepared fish (haddock) was delicious with a lovely crispy batter and was served with ample tasty chips and mushy peas. Of course there were also the usual condiments such as tartare sauce, malt vinegar, etc. In fact everything was so good that we went back the following day - this time I opted for cod which was equally as enjoyable. The service was quick and really friendly. I will definitely be back!

Shocking fish, ordered a large and it was ten cm long by one cm thick full of bones, absolutely terrible. The chips were inedible little pieces of dried up potato. Nasty, nasty food.

Deep blue fish and chips is a nice traditional British fish and chip shop. The food was freshly cooked to order when we visited. We had to try the patties, a speciality not often seen outside of Hull. They were more expensive than any of the chip shops in Hull, but they were much deeper. We were very impressed by the large size. The batter was perfect, and they had just the right amount of Sage. The potato was a bit firmer and less fluffy than a traditional Hull Patty. All in all, it was very nice. They also do some interesting lunchtime boxes and special offers for pensioners. It's a nice fish and chip shop.

Probably the worse chippy in the area. Its expensive jumbo sausage chips and curry was over £8.50. I wouldn't mind but the curry sauce is £1.99 and got half a pot. I've had fish before that was not fresh and could not even issue a till receipt. Only went as the other good chippy has shit down.

Easy to park, food was cooked to order. Hot when we got home, chip was very well cooked and fish was very good, mushy peas was a bit dry but ok, as it is all not down my shirt, still 5*

Their large fish can only be described as small and was also dry. Even my cat turned her nose up at it. Very expensive £14 for fish chips peas and a can. Long wait times and errors with orders. They actually forgot to put any chips in with my fish! With such a small fish and no chips the box felt empty when I was eventually handed it. I won't be back.

Offered no extras like s&v - asked - got a frosty rude response& he said wasn't aware U wanted any and not Oh apologies let me put some on. So was given my own to put on after he had throw the chips in a tiny box smaller than what you see on their website. Gravy pot Tiny and tasteless liquid. Cold. Tiny sausage and all for £17.74. If you want to be ripped off come here. Deffo prefer the Pizza place round the corner. Chips underdone and greasy left a horrid taste in my mouth. Hygiene questionable from some of the reviews I now read after being ripped off. Cashdesk trainee was so polite didn't need training he has the customer skills in abundance. However, the server, absolutely no customer service (the same one who closed early last time remember!!) needs addressing, if you actually want to stay in business. Servers face dropped when I said,"Take it I have to put my own on - can't wait to leave a review for tonight!" (An opportunity for the manager listening from behind the counter, to put it right - missed!) Tapped the review link with my iPhone and rushed out of the door 🚪

Been here a few times, and the food quality is good but can’t defend the price. Last visit was during summer and there was flies in the chips. Staff shrugged it off.

One of the better fish n chips I’ve ever had. Very very friendly people, everything cooked to order so not sat around on a hot cupboard. Take away or eat in. I ate in as I love eating in a fish n chip shop, which sadly is a scarcer opportunity these days. I’m not - but they have a gluten free menu on Fridays & Saturdays Eat here, everything was great.

The burger is nice but I emphasised I wanted extra crispy bacon in my bacon cheeseburger. I waited at least 10 minutes so I was hoping to at least get what I ordered. Instead, after waiting, it wasn't worth it as my bacon wasn't crispy at all and had to take it out of my burger completely! Very disappointed! 😒 I'd say next time they can knock £1.50 off but there won't be a next time if they can't even cook bacon properly! 🙄

I’ve ordered from here several times now and the food has always been excellent. You can really tell they put care into what they make – it’s a cut above your standard takeaway. The pizzas and burgers are full of flavour and clearly made with quality in mind. A proper standout from the usual options!

Gourmet burgers are insane! We travel to this takeaway from Thorngumbald and it never disappoints us. The staff work so hard they are always rushed off their feet in there always super busy and we still get 10/10 service every time!

Very very overpriced for less than average food Spent £26 tonight on two bbq beef fillets with chips. To get it home and every single piece of the ‘fillet’ was inedible. Could not even bite into it never mind chew it. Why advertise fillet when cutting corner and providing the toughest, driest and tasteless meat All that money down and still starving !

Iv been coming to this takeaway for a few months now never a problem food is nice. 14th Feb illl not be coming back. I was watching them through the window as I was waiting for the food. Two of the staff was vapein inside the shop. This was around food that was being cooked and prepared. I just said that's not a good thing to see when your ordering food two staff vapein!! To them be met with abuse. They could of delt with it better but they didn't. Definitely won't be coming here again. Staff are rude and what I seen vapin has put me off

My partner just ordered a pizza 2 slices in noticed green mould patches in the base, not acceptable at all tbh, it's not nice knowing the food you pay for and expect quality has mould on, granted we rang explained and they came out and replaced with a new pizza free of charge

Absolutely appalling service. Taking too many orders and being unable to deal with them. Our order got "lost". Waited 55 minutes, for 2 small pizzas and a burger, only to be told we didn't order a burger! Eventually she found our order number but didn't apologise. Tried to charge £4 extra for 2 tubs of mayo. Then we get to the food... absolutely disgusting. The burger was cold and hard and the pizzas were also cold and so burnt and overbaked the toppings had gone hard and we couldn't tell which was which. Went to go back and complain but they'd locked the doors. Needless to say it all went in the bin. Waste of £30. If I could give less than 0 stars I would!

4 of us got donner meat and chips and a garlic bread. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the worse takeaway I've ever had. The donner meat and garlic bread was sooo stale, it sounded like you were eating crisps when you had it. The portions were extremely small and it costs over £24. I can't express how bad it was, I wouldn't wish recommend this to my worse enemy, terrible terrible terrible. DO NOT GO HERE.

I have bought on several occasions now and the quality is always the same. The mushy peas are not canned but prepared traditionally, equally delicious. Excellent value, served by friendly folk

Stayed at parkdean Skipsea, went for fish and chips closed, went to the coast fish shop closed both said open Thursday and Friday. Glad they were there price £9 for fish and £3.49 for chips. Drove 9mile to Beeford chip shop cost me £15 for 2 regular fish and 1 chips , they were one of the best fish and chips I have ever had and well worth the price and drive. Fish was cooked to perfection mmmm

First a little insight to the service here. There was a small queue outside which I took to be a good sign, unfortunately not, as I got inside the door I asked as I normally would if they would put me in a Large Haddock, this was responded to with a very curt and loud reply of " No we can't, there are people in front of you, wait until you order" . I resisted the temptation to walk away at this point. Anyhow the order was placed...then the real comedy began, the lady taking the order passes it to the lady who passes your meal. She sorts these in order and passes onto the fryer. The downside of this operation then kicks in, the fryer only deals with one order at once and only puts Fish in to cook when the previous order has been passed to the customer. So if the person in front has a large order you know your in for a long wait. So the reason for the queues outside and people waiting Inside to collect their order became obvious ! I think they must be going for some sort of record in slow service. Onto the fish and chips, I had ordered wrapped and had a 7 to 8 min journey home. The portion sizes were very very generous indeed. The batter on the fish was sufficiently crispy considering the journey home and the flesh inside was lovely and moist with great flavour. However there was some parts of uncooked batter which can be seen in the pics. The chips again was a huge portion but in general they were a let down. Not at all crispy, but rather bendy and soggy. ( Travel perhaps , but not sure tbh). And they didn't taste great as a result. Curry sauce was very good. All in all a mixed bag, Great portions and as such good value. 10/10 Fish, lovely tasting but could have been better batter. 7/10 Chips, not good 4/10 Service, absolutely diabolical 0/10.

I go every week to get my 'chippy tea'. Its now one of the best in East Yorkshire. The haddock is lush, the chips are fluffy and the peas are delicious. The staff are also sound. The only issue is parking. Its when you get some orange holiday maker turn up (they tend to look like Penfold off Danger Mouse), who insists on parking his Kia 1 metre away from the edge of the crossroad junction. (move the Kia further down Skipsea Road fella). But that's not the fault of the chip shop.

Daughter called to order a milkshake, was told £11.40 with delivery. Asked why they said had to be over £10. Fair enough. Asked to add bbq chicken wings to order (which I’ve ordered many of times before) for them to arrive and be absolute on fire spice wise. Chicken inside brown and vile looking. Rang to complain, and got hung up on multiple times. Asked for a refund as food completely not edible, they refused. Absolute rubbish since change over. Nice people who cared for their customers used to run this place. Won’t be ordering ever again.

Only ordered cheese&chips and tray of donner meat, took 1½ hours to come, it had quite obviously sat on the side waiting to go, something that quick and easy to do should've been cut/cut fresh and hot, arrived cold. Not even trying for a refund after reading other reviews, will not be ordering again

Ordered the following: Mixed Kebab DIY 12 inch pizza (Garlic, Onion, Mushroom, Pineapple) Large chips Onion rings Chocolate Cake Overall came to £34 with free garlic bread and a bottle of pop. The pizza was planned by my wife who said she enjoyed the flavour but the pizza itself was soggy. When we collected the order the bottom of the pizza box was soaked and pizza was just about falling out. The mixed kebab was a waste of money - no flavour to either the kofte or donner, and the chicken was both flavourless and sour? Not entirely sure how someone can cook ingredients in such a way that makes chicken sour. It appears like the kofte and chicken have some seasoning or mix (false hope) but after eating parts of both, it is clear they're frozen meats of poor quality. Chips and Onion rings were just soggy mushy messes. Think we will avoid this place for now and stick to either Geata in Eggborough or TBK in Thorne.

Ordered for the first time last week pizza was ok very skimpy on the toppings about 4 pieces of pepperoni on the full pizza no cheese in the stuffed crust I requested so that was a waste of £3! Anyway thought I'd give a second chance just to be sure it wasn't a one off this time I chose to collect my order again ordered pepperoni, received about 6 pieces this time and again ordered stuffed crust and there was no cheese in my crust again 🙃 so in total 6 pounds wasted on crust with "no cheese" inside Next time I'm passing ill be collecting my 6 quid back!!! We ordered food at 6.30pm to be told our order would be with us within 45 minutes, at 7.45 we called to ask where our order was, as we hadn't received it yet, for the member of staff to leave us on the line for over 5 minutes, with noone returning to the phone we called back for the phone to be answered immediately and them to say the food is on it's way. Our food arrive at 8.10pm. Unfortunately, our food was cold and items missing. We called the shop to be told a replacement would be with us within 8 minutes, however, our guests had to leave so we asked for a refund instead as it was now too late. A refund was confirmed and we were told it would be with us shortly with the driver as we paid cash. After an hour the driver did not arrive so wre called the shop again, to be told we needed to return the food to the shop for a refund, we made the manager aware we had put the food in the bins outside as we were unable to eat it, he told us we had to get the food out of the bins outside and return it to the shop for the refund. In which we questioned what he needed the food back for that had been inside bin, and what he would then do with the food. He repeated he wanted his food back from our bins and we needed to go into the bin to return it or we would not get a refund. We then told him we would not rummage through bins and returns as we were concerned as to what he would then do with the food. This was also unacceptable, the manager was extremely rude on the phone and then disconnected the call himself. I would not recommend.

Rawcliffe pizzaria is an amazing shop, down the food and the interactions with staff was absolutely wonderful, the phone and till staff were so kind and the food was even better . A true homemade pizza , amazing⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ordered a takeaway pizza, garlic bread and chips for the first time from here. The pizza was tasteless, not sure if it was cheap ingredients but the base was thick and cardboard like. Garlic bread had the same cardboard base but garlicky and at least had some taste. Chips were ok to be fair. I certainly won't order from here again.

Really friendly staff in particular a young lad whose name began with an M. They were all very chatty and made you feel welcome. The pizzas were very tasty and fresh and the Donner meat was nice. We will definitely order again.

Always use Riviera normally the kebabs are great. Tonight we had a chicken kebab and a pizza with cheesy chips and all was rubbish the pizza was hardly cooked and chips were awful and cold so I've not eaten thanks why can't you keep up the standard you had

£16.50 for a 14 inch pizza advertised as a 4 person pizza as no mention of size, definitely not enough for 4. It had no cheese on it, ingredients thrown on and fully raw but somehow the base was hard and tasted like cardboard? Definitely the worst pizza I've had. Wouldn't waste my time there.

OK. Ordered donner kebab and riviera kebab. Meat was nice but not very generous. Filled with a lot of coleslaw that was a bit bland... couldn't really taste the garlic sauce. Friendly staff but a bit underwhelmed with the kebabs. Cash only payment.

I’ve been all over the world visiting many pizza parlours/restaurants/takeaways I can definitively say that Rivera trumps them all. I’ve been a loyal customer since it opened in the 1980’s and I’ve never had anything lass than exceptional pizza and kebabs 10/10 from me.

Absolutely disgusting food!! Ordered the fillet steak in black bean with green pepper, had to spit the meat out, not sure what meat that was!!! Chicken and cashew nuts tasteless. Won't be going again!

Portion sizes are much smaller, can no longer get two meals from one order. My last order here only just had enough for one meal, the amount of fried rice was shocking, my partner even commented on how little there was. Taste rating, unfortunately nothing special. TL;DR: - The gravy is never consistent. - Don't order the prawn toast, it is soggy, mushy and has bad flavour. - Portion sizes are very small for the price you pay (near enough £30 for 2 people ordering 2 mains, 2 sides and 2 sauce pots). When you're hungry the last thing you want to deal with is the prospect of "is my food going to taste as good as X time". Sadly, I can no longer recommend this take-out for a flavour and texture sensation. If you want plain & simple with no wow factor, this will do.

Used to be a good takeaway, been a couple of times since Christmas, the food has declined. Gave it another go tonight Special Malaysia noodles and chips. What a claggy mess, soft overcooked or old noodles waiting to be re heated, plenty of meat but was put off how safe it may have been to eat. The taste of the dish was poor I've had a better pot noodle. Chips were over cooked and dry properly re fried. What a waste of money, never going back again. Rubbish

Absolutely no qualms at all. When I'm back home (Raywell) I insist on popping by. I don't think I've had better Capital Ribs in my life (yes, I've been about a bit), the food is indeed made fresh to order, and the fact there's an open kitchen is testament to the confidence they have in the fare they're presenting. Also, the Singapore-style chow mein is insanely good.

Hands down, the best burger in Hessle Square, no contest. Everything about it is spot on. Handmade patties, cooked Italian style on a flat iron griddle until they’re just right, juicy, smoky, and full of flavour. The brioche bun is fresh and grilled to perfection, holding everything together without falling apart. It’s a proper burger, not your usual mass produced nonsense. Craft Burger! What sets it apart is the level of care and creativity. You get all the toppings you can think of...things like Parma ham, crispy bacon, sharp cheddar, and all the extras done right. Burger sauce, pickles, peppers, onions, just ask and they’ll take care of you. It’s a proper bistro style burger from a takeaway that actually knows what they’re doing. Chef Hassan clearly takes pride in his craft, and it shows. It’s a real treat having something like this in town. I was at Prezzo the other night and they couldn’t even tell me if the burger was made fresh or trucked in from somewhere else. That says it all, really. This place doesn’t just serve food, they do good food. Massive respect to Chef Hassan and the team. Burgers like this deserve recognition from the gastronomy census, no joke. If you haven’t tried it yet, get on it.

Was in the area last night 26/06/25 as husband had an appointment at a nearby clinic. I googled the area first where to grab some takeaway food for our tea and decided to order from here. So glad we did. Absolutely amazing pizzas. Best we've had in a long time. We ordered a couple of 12 inch pizzas 🍕 and scoffed the lot. We've both agreed it would be worth the 40 minute drive to visit again. The young man serving was also really pleasant, and as we waited outside for our order, he brought it out to us when it was ready. 10/10 !!! 😊

I have been visiting Love Italian everyday whilst working in the area. The owners always provide a warm, welcoming service and always put their love and attention into the food. The food has always been of a high quality standard and provides an authentic feel of Italy. I would definitely recommend to eat at this place not only for the food but for the environment itself. We love the food and use every two weeks but the customer service is horrendous! Waited 40 minutes for our food which is fine but then forgot our chips so called straight away and after 30 minutes of not receiving we called and they said they sent them 5 minutes ago and they were “on their way”. Girl on the phone was not helpful and didn’t care at all!

It's a tidy little restaurant with lovely staff and owners. It's very clean. You order at the counter, and they do prefer cash rather than a card. The food is easily the best around. I'm usually not a fan of fish & chips as they get greasy. The batter gets soggy, too, and gets cold quickly. Well, not from here. The food is hot, crisp, and dry. Fabulous, big, thick fillet of fish, nice chunky chips with sauces and extras. The wife had a battered sausage that was really nice, not the usual saveloy style. Kim had a corned beef pattie. This wasn't something I liked, but my wife n kim said it was fantastic. This is the best fish n chipper around. Simple.

Pollards Plaice is a stone's throw from several fabulous chippies, but I felt it outshone the competition in a couple of areas. Firstly, before the haddock was dipped in the hot beef dripping, it was dredged through a secret dry flour, herb, and spice mix, then coated in the wet batter. It was delicious. The haddock itself was thick, fresh, and packed with flavour, encased in a crisp, light, and tasty batter. The chips were just as I like them—thick, golden, with a light crispiness and tender potato. The mushy peas were sweet and tasty, though I’d have liked them a little thicker. The staff were wonderfully friendly and polite, and there were also tables and chairs available. After a trip to Leeds Bradford Airport and back I dropped family off and was hungry. Passing Pollards I pulled over and got my dinner and heading home it’s smelt good. The service in the shop was manic to say the least, the shop was very clean tho (always good when food is concerned). The staff friendly and all full of smiles and helpful. The food The curry was a little too spicy for me and was like water, I love a good fruity curry. This was not good at all. Yes it’s personal choice and I understand lots of other people would love the curry but for me it was not my thing. The chips were a big let down most were hard and some seemed to be burnt just on the bottom (not sure what that was about). The odd chip was soft and when I got to taste these chips they were really nice soft and fluffy inside but they were far out done by the hard ones. The fish was the hidden gem in this order. I’m not sure how they have made this batter but what ever they have been doing keep doing it. The batter was amazing, it was crisp thick and the taste was to die for. Without a doubt the best batter on a peace of fish I’ve ever had in my life. The fish was perfect soft, full of taste and cooked to perfection.

Had a small fish, chips and peas special today (23rdJuly). 3 of us sat inside and ate, on a plate with cutlery and condiments on the table. It was brilliant value at only £5-50 each! I've been here 3x now and two of them were disappointing, the food was cold and had no taste, I waited inside for my food and they said they would let me know when it's ready however, they didn't. It was just sat on top of this shelf getting cold. I did have a chicken kebab there and I enjoyed it after a night out.

Fresh, tasty and authentic dishes that are absolutely gorgeous, cooked in a genuine wood fired pizza oven. The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly with their hospitality. You're never left waiting very long for your order and you receive quality, well cooked food with very generous portion sizes. There is no pizza takeaway shop better in Hull - and it is the only place to go to from now on. 5 stars all the way.

Very poor service I wanted a sandwich of the special board and the refused to do it because they had turned off the grill for the day…refused to turn it back on.. it was 1340 there is still 20 mins until they close very poor service why have a specials board if you can not order from it. As a workman I've eaten my fair share of sandwiches and I've got to say nowhere does it quite like here. If you can put it in a sandwich they've got it! Prices are beyond cheap for what you get and I've never left hungry. The staff are lovely and always happy to help. My favourite lunch stop by far.

Lovely clean restaurant at York Rd Shiptonthorpe, stopped on journey home from Alton Towers. A member of Staff named Will went above & beyond for us , when others had ignored us. He let us use the closed toilets which he had just cleaned, which were spotless btw, also checking in to see if we needed anything else. Mcdonald's need more Will's

This has to be the worst McDonald's you could ever go to staff are so rude ! There altitude is though the roof ! Told every time go to wait in the car part ! Was told this is due to the fact they have targets to keep and the comes before customs. Just what is going on !!!! Food was cold as well .

My Daughter went to meet her friends today at this restaurant, so they could have something to eat and chat in a safe environment. My daughter’s friends had finished their meal and my daughter still had food left and was still eating when a member of staff came over and rudely said you all need to leave as other customers have come in. You may read this and think they must of been in there for ages and not eating, this wasn’t the case. Never again will my daughter or her friends use this restaurant. Very poor customer service, you should never speak or treat customers like this.

We were recently visiting Hornsea and decided to try Five Bites. We ordered online and collected 20mins later, we ordered the spicy chicken burgers and wings and it was all delicious, would definitely highly recommend.

Called here for lunch last Friday. We ordered pizzas, chicken burger and hot wings. The food was absolutely delicious the children and other half loved their pizzas and my chicken burger was honestly one of the best I have ever eaten. Unfortunately we were in the area on holiday otherwise this would be our new regular spot.

Pizza is a bit greasy bit otherwise was lovely - we got the 'all the meats' one along with chicken bites and chips. All in all very nice, would go again :)

Best pizza in Beverley and around Hull. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The pricing is reasonable and the pizzas are fantastically yummy. They take orders to take away, there's also a small place to sit and have a quick go if you're starving. Test the chips and garlic bread, too.

Ordered for delivery ,first time, but based on the quality of pizza and the pleasant experience from the staff I'm quite sure we will again soon. Absolutely loved the thin base seafood pizza I had, it was very very authentic .

Was highly disappointed with my order. I ordered a few things, one of the things I ordered being Doner meat with garlic sauce. After ordering previously and getting the sauce separately in pots I was shocked to see the sauce poured straight onto my Doner meat. I rang the takeaway to get this rectified and got told it states on the website that it doesn’t come in pots so I would have to pay again. After checking their website it clearly states that sauce comes separately. Highly disappointed and won’t be going back there again. Rather drive 10 miles out and get it from somewhere else and have higher quality food.

Waited over an hour for food to arrive (fair play if busy) food turned up cold chips was soggy, burger bun was soggy, mayo all over the chicken kebab like it had been thrown around the car. Spoke with owner who said don't touch the food and we will bring you more in half an hour, No I will just eat it as I am not waiting that long when already waited an hour. Took a video to show them how soggy the bun was and all they said was it got cooked and left right away from mw to holme. Lies as the chips was soggy and cold. Do not order if you want a good take away. And as far as 2019 goes you have changed hands that many times between family members a d ownership that no one can keep count. Pizzas are good from this spot but that's about it. We have taken pics and vids to shot how shocking the food is when it turns up. I really don't think it's the shop it's self it's how long the food is sat in the car that's the problem.

20 Pizzas ordered for my wedding day, everything was delivered hot and the guests thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so I only managed to eat 1 slice out of nearly 200. Great service and truly couldn't fault them on a very important day for me. Thanks guys, very appreciated.

Wonderful experience today. Service was excellent, very polite and helpful. We sat outside to eat and the food was just lovely! Great portion sizes, fish was chunky and flakey. Chips GREAT! Not those yucky big fat yellow chips that taste of nothing. These were cooked perfectly and tasted great. All round fab experience, will definitely be coming back soon.

Chips were undercooked, Yorkshire fish cake over cooked and sausage would have benefited with quite a few more minutes cooking. We did call as they were closing so maybe we caught them on a bad day. Food we purchased was inedible and binned

Spot on little chippy, At the time I visited the fish was being cooked to order. Definitely worth the few minutes wait.. bread was decent and didn’t crumble the fish was light and meaty.. full of flavour and the batter light and crispy.. Next year it will be my go to arrival meal

What a lovely place to eat . Never been b4 we just came across this place . Fish and chips where beautiful. Service was amazing with a beautiful smiles as we walked in . We sat outside to eat on their table . Prices were very reasonable

Once I moved to the area part time, this was the first chippy I went to. It's incredible. The staff are not only fast and kind, they are funny and really chatty. Even when COVID restrictions were in, they made it safe and fun. Food is so good, always hot, can't recommend enough.

Stopped by this little chip shop whilst staying in the area (Still Rabbit Lodges). The lady said they only had small fish left, so we were astounded when she passed over two large fish and chips! Price was also so cheap! £10.90 for 2 x fish chips and 1 x peas!

Excellent, Covid19 restrictions in place. We each ordered Haddock and chips to take out, good sized portions, reasonably priced and enjoyable.

Wrong order was delivered, driver eventually came with correct order that had clearly just been collected from someone else's address as you could see the food had been tampered with and was stone cold. Both the incorrect and correct order went in the bin, cannot claim any money back via bank as I was sent no confirmation email. Would like a full refund, thanks

I tried a large Doner Kebab, Family size Doner Meat and Chips as well as the Chef's Special Kebab. The large Doner as well as the Family size kebab comes with Nan. The kebab meat is very tasty and flavorful. It can standup against any competition and can be a genuine contender. However the nan is small and a big letdown. Now the Chef's Special Kebab, apparently has marinated lamb, chicken tikka, Doner meat as well as mushroom, onion and peppers. Unfortunately this was a massive disappointment. Although there were small bits of tikka and marinated lamb, I didn't get any mushroom. There were bits of onion and peppers. I didn't find the Doner meat or any part of this to be flavorful at all. However their original Doner is great value and I would highly recommend it. There is parking available right outside. Although the shop doesn't look very impressive from outside, step inside and you'll be spoilt for choice. I would recommend everyone to try it and judge for yourself. One negative is, we told them we prefer the sauces on the side, they didn't tell us they would be charging extra for this. A small point but still a negative in what was otherwise a positive experience. As always, this was my experience and YMMV.

Really gone down hill lately. I don't think they know what the problem is. It's the pizzas. They're not cooked for long enough. The chefs pulling them out before they are ready and not even checking if they're ready. I'm not joking here Its all of the last 5 times I've been here at first I gave them the benefit of the doubt but it's just normal for them now to serve undercooked pizzas. The pizza base is also paper thin and all the dough is in the crust. I'm sorry but I've started using another takeaway as I'm fed up of throwing half of my food away. I'm sure you have seen a decline in customers and this could be why. Also tell your staff that itching your bum isn't hygienic even if you are just cooking chips and rubbing your face in-between making pizzas isn't good for business. The customer see's more than you think. I give you this information as feedback and something to work on. But I will not be returning as a customer.

Ordered double chilli cheese burger with chips Chips where soggy so they went in the bin My only regret was not ordering 2 burgers. As it was the dogs bollocks. Absolutely delicious, only downfall is that with wraps and kebabs they don’t use greaseproof paper therefore the paper sticks to the food

Absolute crap! Went in to takeaway and they have forgot 3 things also charged us for two tubs of curry and didn’t receive any at all. The chips look like they have been sat in a pan for three days, awful! Second time this has happened here will definitely not use again.zero stars

Just been to collect fish and chips and first time trying sue downs. Absolutely amazing and the homemade tartare sauce is a lovely extra added touch. Highly recommend and cannot wait to return!

An excellent quality fish and chips shop. Very clean, good quality fish always nicely cooked. The staff are very friendly they also sell their own traditional Hull patties, fish cakes, and sausage. The spam fritters are excellent. There is some outside seating.

chip cut open my throat,charged me more then it said on menu , didn’t have the meal i asked for even though it was on the menu. I didn’t really enjoy my visit today do not recommend. Staff moody and wear no gloves

Went in tonight, after waiting 10/15 mins to get served in a quiet shop with 3 customers. Then finally got served, by miserable staff. Who took our full order, not really sure why if I’m honest as she couldn’t keep up as we were missing stuff from the order! That we’ve paid for….. Clearly didn’t want to be there or listen - Our order consisted of two specials I asked for peas on-top of one as I like them all over they got splatted on a corner of my meal not all over I seen this as I asked to put the salt and vinegar on myself. They were dripping off the tray so I had to get my own forks off the side to try slide them back ontop. My other special was ordered with a tub of curry and I’d seen she’d got that wrong from two orders before overheard another staff ask what it’s for on the side and she said oh it’s spare, when leaving I realised the curry wasn’t in so I said we need a tub of curry with our meal and she actually tried giving me the tub what has been sat there, so I said something , said I wanted a fresh one not a cold one. Also got home and vinegar missing and been charged for the bottle, won’t be coming back.

Just had some food delivered, great food, great service would totally recommend.

Fish was over cooked asked for a medium ended up with dried out overdone small bits even the cat turned its nose up definitely won't be coming here anymore rubbish

We had a seafood pizza this week as a change, it was fantastic, very tasty, loads of tuna& prawns we had onion instead of olives, perfect. It was delivered very quickly and was steaming hot (not unusual, delivery is always very good). Absolutely delicious 😋 Thank you 😊

Great takeaway! Very friendly and helpful staff. We always seem to go for the lamb shish kebab, lamb or chicken wrap, and doner meat with fries. The curly fries are beautiful and crispy, the meat is much nicer than from any of the takeaways where we live, the salad is always fresh, the breads and wraps are nice, and the sauces are great! Love that garlic yoghurt sauce. So we often come to Frank's when we are in the area.

Was stopping about 5 miles away in a lodge phoned up pretty late on,lovely polite woman answered the phone said they would be able to deliver.Food arrived just about in 45 minutes which I thought was pretty good considering distance etc all piping hot and delicious especially the turk calzone spot on

Wunt give dog it. Chewy, greasy, lemon flavoured cardboard. Genuinely the worst kebab I’ve ever had; and there was a hair in my chilli sauce!

The sausage and chips were nice, but lacked something. I think the cooking fat was different to other places or the cooking fat tastes old. Sausages were a little bit on the greasy side but they tasted fine. Good customer service. Depending on what you want in a chippie, this chippie is certainly in my top 20 of all time for Hull's greatest chippies.

Wife and I had two beautiful haddock fillets with super crunchy tasty batter, great curry sauce and mushy peas and so many chips I had to ask assistant to take some off! Couldn’t believe all that for £15 .20 …Amazing value and would cost £££’s more in Wakefield!

On Wednesday 23/7/25 - 12 of us at The Ridings, Anlaby had fish,chips and peas from Kingfisher. We ordered them by phone on the night before and picked them up at 6 the next night, Maxine served us when we arrived and they were still red hot when we got them home and everyone really enjoyed them, I asked for a vote out of 10 and everyone said 11. Great service great food and an excellent price - we will be back - thank you 🥰

Trust me the fish and batter is always lovely from here. Even if I have got far to walk for it. Plus they are rated up there with others. When I knew that I thought it's not a million miles away from me. Plus I bet they do well on match days. It's the prices what what the company and customers are struggling with. But don't let that stop you.

Friendly staff, best fish and chips in hull and dare i say further than hull, good luck getting food when crowds are up near walton street though its always rammed, i have had the one in endike lane many times too and thats also very tasty, 100% recommend

Best fresh made pizza I've had in a long time and fantastic owner! It was stone cold in 5 minutes though which I don't understand. .. maybe better boxes are needed! Not a complaint tho as was 100% perfect otherwise 👌

First time ordering from Bella Vita. Food was gorgeous. The burgers and pizzas were brilliantly presented. The pizza is clearly made with proper Italian dough methods rather than standard takeaway fare. My only issue is that everything was Piping hot, bar the pizza. It was stone cold by the time it got to mu door. Not even lukewarm. I don't understand how this was possible given a pizza takes minutes to cook. Surely it should have been done last? I reheated it as too hungry to call and complain, but it was a dampner on an otherwise really good takeaway

It’s hard to find decent pizza in UK having moved here from The States, these folks actually do a great job and make a great pizza far as takeaways go! Can confidently say it’s the best takeaway in Pocklington, and as a bonus it’s very reasonably priced. Looking forward to ordering again tonight

Absolutely love Bella Vita. The pizza and chips are always a fantastic combo, and cheap too! Considering the price, you might not get many topics depending on what you order, but you can easily order twice as much for the same price as every other place. I have never had a problem with my orders, always arrives hot, and the order is never wrong despite how weird the combos can be. Honestly all in all its great!

Ordered from here as Motto was closed, we prefer the Greek/turkish style pizzas from Motto which may sway this review somewhat. We only ordered pizzas and chips so can only comment on them, the dough was lovely, almost sourdough in fact but the toppings weren’t great, I ordered the hot feast and apparently it had garlic mayo on it, but in reality it just tasted like a cream cheese thing poured on top, kind of ruined what was already not a great pizza, pepperoni pizzas were ok and daughter kind of enjoyed her margherita, chips were good though and cheap enough 🙂

we ordered late on the 29/7 and the person spoken to on the phone was lovely and the delivery driver was fantastic! We were staying at Allerthorpe golf and country park and instead of us meeting him at the carpark he drove the food all the way to the lodge, I would have tipped if I had cash because he was so friendly and helpful so please pass on my thanks. The food was great! Huge portions, arrived hot and great value for money!

Well packaged and arrived hot, we had lovely pasta and garlic bruschetta. A fresh crispy salad on the side. Disappointed with the mix kebab box 3 small tough pieces of lamb , 2 pieces of dry chicken lots of donner meat. the shish was nice . Over all average/good take out .

I'm not the one to leave a negative review. Never leave a bad review. Got told this was one of the best takeaways in beverley. The first pizza I bought was one of the best pizzas I had. Second pizza I bought the week after was awful. Just ordered another pizza and it was literally swimming in grease and fell to bits. Was honestly the worst pizza I've had from any takeaway. Feel bad for leaving bad review but was awful. Not returning anymore.

Always nice food .delivery service is great find our place easily everytime. Never an issue. Busy as you expect on weekends but order early to avoid disappointment. Enjoy ordering from here good quality food and delicious salads and extra garnishs to accompany meals. Its cooked and grilled well its not boring greasy food.

Excellent place, turned up wondering if they had mint yoghurt - unfortunately they didn't. Within a couple of minutes the guy called me over saying he'd made some fresh asking me to try it - was spot on and unreal customer service. Burger was also really good with a nice flame grilled taste. Been a while since I've been back to Beverley but glad to see this place is still top notch and I'll be going again next time I'm back

I was hungry and looked up the best kebab in Beverley,!!! This came up and it was a million miles away from it . Probably the most tasteless kebab I’ve ever had and that’s not exaggerating. I really should’ve taken it back. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Although the pizzas looked nice . If I could’ve scored it a 0 or minus I would’ve . Quite upsetting

I ordered burger, onion rings and a box of doner meat and a box of chicken meat. Burger and onion rings were fine, however, couldn’t eat the doner meat cause it was like eating a bowl of salt, and the chicken meat was, well see for yourselves. I obviously will not be ordering from there again.

Chicken kebab was not the same as usual. We normally get lots of chicken fillets. The one we received last night was just a few cubes of chicken. Very disappointing

Just been to FOOD EXPRESS HOWDEN. I got home to have no chips or kebab sauce. Called them and was told I would have to bring it "ALL" back in to "PROVE" that I hadn't been given them !!! 🤬🤬🤬 When I said "are you acusing me of lying" I was told "well we don't know if you got them and you are going to have to come in anyway" !!!!! I went back in and was accused of having eaten the chicken from the kebab !!! 🤬🤬🤬 I was rudely force given my money back and manager absolutely couldn't have been more disinterested. I didn't want my money back, I just wanted my tea !!! Shame, I have been going there for years but with the disgusting attitude of the staff I will NEVER go there again and others should seriously consider an alternative as well. Shop local, lol. Why would I when they can't even treat local people with respect.
