We participated in a guided tour at Antica Dolceria Bonajuto, where we learned all about the process of making their chocolate, from start to finish. The tasting session was amazing – each chocolate was rich and full of flavor. We also enjoyed shopping in the charming store, picking some delicious treats to take home. You have to visit this place if you’re a chocolate lover. It’s a little bit different than the chocolate that people are used to, but it’s still great. The staff if very friendly, gave us chocolate to try before buying and told us how it’s made. You can also get cannoli here. The most perfect cannoli I have ever eaten, crispy on the outside and soft not too sweet cream on the inside. Variety of flavours to choose from.

A must go for a chocolate lover! Chocolate in Modica is different, they make it as ancient recipes mixing only cacao paste and sugar, therefore it doesn’t melt in the mouth but create a totally different experience! After a long cycle and facing yet another hill ahead, I was grateful to stumble across this spot in Modica. Their freshly made cannoli were an absolute treat — crisp shells filled on the spot with rich, creamy ricotta that hit the perfect balance. Just what I needed to recharge before the next climb. A little slice of Sicilian heaven, and a must-visit for anyone passing through.

A bit of a loud and confusing place, with multiple lines and a lot of shouting to order. But it works, and you get your order very quickly. We ordered a cold chocolate milk and a chocolate granita. I particularly enjoyed the chocolate milk, and I found the chocolate granita to be fine as well. For my girlfriend's taste, it was slightly too bitter, but for my taste, it was good.

We came here for the chocolate Making tour, as well as to buy Modica Chocolate. We would highly recommend, the tour is very informative, hands on (such as cracking a cocoa bean and tasting it) as well as getting a behind the scenes look on how the world's most loved bean is harvested. The chocolate is also delicious. Tour offered also in English which was very clear and detailed.

The best Modican hot chocolate we had ever tried. We also asked for heavy cream (panna) - fabulous and unforgettable. They’ve got many options and the cornetti tasted fresh and light. We chose to seat inside but I saw that they’ve got many tables outside as well.

TLDR: friendly staff, delicious chocolate and cannoli, decent prices! Originally we just came in for a cannoli, but we ended up leaving with a bag of chocolates! First off- the cannoli itself was really good. They fill them as you order so they don’t get soggy. (But we got them to go and they were still crispy after a couple of hours) the ricotta cream was fluffy but not too sweet, and they were very generous with the pistachio sprinkles. They then offered us some chocolate and hot chocolate samples, and told us a little bit about the history of the cafe and chocolate shop. (You can really tell how proud and passionate they are about their chocolates!) Apparently the father of the cafe owner was one of the chocolate pioneers in Modica, and he still insists on making chocolates by hand to this day. They have a great selection of chocolates at a fair price (tad bit lower than other places in the area). They even sell 100% cocoa chocolates and their hot chocolate powder! Oh, if you haven’t had Modica hot chocolate, I highly recommend it if you like chocolate fudge. They make their hot chocolate with either water or milk, depending on your preference. Milk can be a little too heavy, but it makes a great dipping sauce if you have it with a pastry!

The best Granita/Cremolata in Modica? Yeah, yeah, much debate about this - every place has the best, I know. But this is *good*. Locals swear by it. A lot. Not just the locals - we were there pretty much every day for granita/coffee in the morning, and a couple more during the day 😜 (And yes, the brioche is pretty damn amazing too - just the right texture for dunking)

We had a very complete breakfast with local products. We tried the hot chocolate, Pistacchio croissant, the sicilian cannolo (ricota filling with pistacchio) and their great expresso. All of this for under 10 euros. Great price for very good quailty in Modica's main street. The staff was all super nice and made us feel very welcomed. If you are in Modica, dont look much further!

Adamo Caffè was our final stop in Modica after a long day of sightseeing, and it provided a much-needed and wonderfully refreshing break before driving on to Marzamemi. The Highlight: Cremolata! We highly recommend trying their specialty, the Cremolata. This is a dish unique to this cafe, a delicious hybrid of granita and ice cream that is lighter and even more satisfying than typical Sicilian granita. It's clearly made with fresh, local ingredients, and it was much tastier than any other similar treat we had during our trip. Our cappuccino was also excellent. We weren't hungry enough to try the solid food, but the display of pastries was exceptional and looked absolutely delicious—I regretted not having room to try them! The location is great for a quick stop and the staff was friendly. If you are looking for a unique and super-refreshing way to cool down and recharge in Modica, be sure to stop here and order the Cremolata!

I am visiting my boyfriend’s hometown of Modica from London and of all the places he has taken me this is by far my favourite place that I hope that I will continue to come to. The people are kind, warm and friendly and the cremolate is the best food I have had so far in Sicily. Not only this, but I went to collect some coffee beans and an espresso cup and saucer as a gift for my family and friends and they were so helpful and kind and went above and beyond by going to a separate place to vacuum the coffee beans packet to keep them fresh on my return journey to London. This was my favorite place for espresso when I lived in Sicily. Crema Bar is hands down the best espresso beans I have ever. Since I moved away from Sicily in 2022, I have been missing out. If there is one thing I wish Motey Cafe would do, that would be to ship Crema Bar to the US.

Brilliant quality products and service. Angela was so helpful and patient whilst we tried different flavours of chocolate. The almond brittle and cookies are superb. The coffee and chocolate liqueur is heavenly. The freshly ground coffee smells incredible and is very reasonably priced. The BEST granita in the world! You get what you pay for and then some! Highest quality ingredients are used. Spent €5.60 for 2 granitas WITH (proper, not fake) panna, whereas in Milan you'd spend €8 or more for a pathetic substitute! Complimenti! Ottimo come sempre!!

Conveniently located next to the La Perla restaurant we had supper at, this was our very last purchase made on Sicily before heading back to our bus to catch the ferry back to Malta. Many attractive pastries were also available but as Americans not always accustomed to having wide availability of gelato in our country, we chose gelato instead and were not disappointed. The 2 mini cones stuck atop each of our generously filled gelato cups really tickled us. Cute presentation. Nice folks. Tasty gelato. A full 5 stars.

Oh my god this is heaven for all celiac people. What a lovely guy Giorgio is - we visited in 2016, just looked in the door and in 5 minutes he had us making ciocolata a la modica. Neither of us spoke the same language but it was a riot! You cant buy this sort of thing, it was molto speciale.

Giorgio and his shop are the hidden gem of the city. In a city of chocolate covered in big tourist attractions and very good chocolate this place is quiet and unassuming. Do not let that fool you, this man makes the best chocolate in the entire city, honestly it’s the best chocolate I have ever had and the highest cocoa content I found among the different ones I purchased. He is beyond friendly, he let us try all his different flavors and they all packed 10x the flavor as any other chocolate in the city. Most of the pepper chocolate had hints of pepper his had a real bite. The hazel nut, lemon and orange were incredible, and his hot cocoa was rich and delicious. I ended up buying more chocolate bars here than any other shop I went into. By talking to him even through translation I could sense his passion for what he made, he referred to his kitchen in the back as his “laboratory” and the things that came out of it blew me away. I honestly have half a mind to move here and study under this man in the art of chocolate because I have always liked chocolate but never knew it could taste this good. Beyond words Bravo!!
