The 15 best pancakes in Winston Salem

Stopped in for breakfast with a couple friends on Sunday morning. We were seated pretty quickly, there was a lot more seating inside than we expected. It took a while for our waitress to get to us. We ordered drinks (water and coffee) and she never came back by to refill our drinks the entire time we were there 😔 I ordered a special they had on the board, sweet potato pancakes with brown sugar and honey butter, and 2 scrambled eggs on the side. The pancakes were disappointing. They were really thin and super dry. Even after using butter they were super dry. My friend both got the club and they enjoyed their sandwiches. I would definitely not get the pancakes again. Sweet Potato Pancakes - 4/10 Scrambled eggs - They're scrambled eggs/10

The pancakes are literally the thickness of cardboard, plus they're tough and dry. I have no idea why this is a popular breakfast restaurant. The service is also fairly slow; getting refills or extra napkins is a challenge. They also didn't give an itemized bill; the server just presented us with a total on the her device (she stood there watching me while I completed the transaction/tip). And they charge a 2.75% "operational fee" on top of the food charges. So although some of the food is pretty good, overall I really don't recommend this place.

I ordered the shrimp & grits omelette with home fries was Absolutely Terrible shrimp had a funny taste & home fries was burnt. Waitress was slow & missing in action. My husband was happy with his food he played it safe with scrambled eggs turkey bacon & pancakes

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to go someplace close. Food and service was great! If you haven’t been, you should give it a try.

This place is an excellent environment with a friendly and family vibe!!! The food is exquisite (I had the chicken and waffles) !!!

Good overall family restaurant. Italian sub had great flavor although too much oil & vinegar made the bottom bread soggy. Turnip greens were good. Chicken soup and grilled BLT were both good choices also. Service was OK for peak lunchtime. Bathrooms were very clean, dining room was clean enough. Portions were a bit large, bur prices were good for the quality of food. We will go back.

WOW — what an awesome experience at Midtown Dessertery! 🤩 Our waitress Scarlette, was phenomenal — so friendly, upbeat, and totally on top of everything. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She made us feel right at home and kept the good vibes going the whole time. The food and desserts were absolutely delicious 🍰✨ and her amazing service made it even better. Can’t wait to come back — she’s the best!! 🙌💖

Wendy was a marvelous server. It was my birthday and she treated me so great. I appreciate Wendy’s way of being a server. I would love to come back and sit with her again. The food was also great and the mimosa flight is a must have.

My friend and I met here, for the first time, and snagged an outside table. The patio seating is lovely. She started with the Midtown Maple Latte and I had the Toasted Marshmallow Latte. Both were good but I was expecting the marshmallows to be toasted. They were actually tiny, dry marshmallows (think Swiss Miss) on top of whipped cream. The Spicy Grit Skillet was absolutely delicious and I love that they don’t stir everything together. The andouille sausage was in pieces not ground and they cooked it perfectly. This also comes with 2 over easy eggs, a small dollop of pimento cheese and green onions. The pimento cheese was very good but I held the green onions. They may have applied them and removed them before serving because I could smell them. It didn’t affect the taste and I was thrilled with the meal. My friend got the Western Omelet with a side of grits. She said everything was delicious. We split a small side order of pancakes, just to try them. If you like fluffy and soft pancakes, these are for you. Wendy was appropriately funny and attentive. We signed up to be VIPs so we will be back.

Great restaurant to stop at while traveling. My husband and I have been here a few times and the service is good and the food doesn’t disappoint. We split the Kickin Cajun Mac and cheese. I got the Cesar salad with blackened chicken and my husband got the Berry Feta salad with grilled salmon. The desserts are great too and they do have gluten free options.

I just keep coming back for more! The peppermint hot chocolate is THE BEST hands down! My daughter hadn't been feeling well so I was happy her appetite returned. The French toast is delicious! I had the salmon harvest salad. Absolutely love their homemade raspberry dressing!

Our waitress Scarlette was absolutely fantastic! She made sure to keep up with us, and she also made sure to ask us plenty of questions!! she lowkey deserves a raise😝😝

After 15 years away from Winston-Salem, I decided to bring my family to visit for the first time- and to try some of my childhood staples. Midtown Cafe never disappoints. Same friendly environment I remember, and delicious coffee and breakfasts! Wendy made us feel right at home!

The Filling Station has been my favorite restaurant in Winston Salem for a long time. I am never disappointed when I dine here. I love their Salmon salad and pretty much everything I have ever eaten. They have a great selection and their brunch menu is delicious!

We were seated right away, they have outside and inside seating. The outside was clean and felt cozy. Lots of space outside and parts of it were covered as well. The staff were all polite and our waiter was upbeat and nice. Food was amazing and I am pretty sure I ate to much. We had an appetizer main meal and a dessert, all of which were great.

Dining alfresco on a beautiful afternoon. The omelettes were wonderful as was the service from our waiter. Hash browns had a unique mix of ingredients including Cajun (?) spice. Very well made.

Loved the calamari, salmon salad, and shrimp & grits. Everything was tasty and the Primavera Paloma was so good!

Our waiter Casey/Kasey was slow. For an upscale restaurant the spinach and crab dip were SMALL dip bowls for sharing and burnt on edges upon appearance. We were a party of 4. We would wait 20 minutes for drinks. Meals were average for the price. Slightly disappointed compared to our other dining experiences. Probably won’t return, but believe I’m more chances.

While the name calls to mind a gas station-turned-pub, the Fourth Street Filling Station is a bit more upmarket than that. It isn’t fine dining but rather a place where you can get a steak. The worst that can be said about this place is that it isn’t terrible innovative: apps, salads, sandwiches, a few seafood and pasta dishes, and the aforementioned steaks. In the grand scheme of things, however, there are far greater culinary sins than not offering anything unique. The Filling Station boasts a spacious patio, and even as it got busier, our group of four was able to enjoy a comfortable meal. Our server was friendly and helpfully offered drink recommendations, and the kitchen didn’t leave us waiting long for our food. The menu boldly claims Winston’s Best Calamari, so we decided to put that to the test. While there may be a match out there somewhere, the Filling Station’s version is quite good: a generous portion, well-breaded, not overcooked, and paired with both a superb cocktail sauce and a tangy remoulade. My entrée – a jambalaya – was likewise very satisfying. I’ve had jambalayas that were disappointingly dry, and I appreciated the gravy in this one. Though it offered no heat, it was still flavorful, and the shrimp were sizeable. The Filling Station isn’t cheap – most entrees in the twenties and sandwiches in the mid-teens – but given rising food costs, the prices aren’t out of line for what they offer. If you’re looking for a “nice meal” destination with solid food and plenty of seating, the Filling Station presents an appealing option provided that you are OK with the somewhat predictable menu.

The servers are always really nice and the food is amazing, and so is the atmosphere. It’s a great spot for a romantic dinner, and I’m sure it would be good for business too. It’s always quiet, cozy, and warm. I always get the shrimp tortellini and my wife gets the blackened chicken Alfredo. We’ve been coming here for years now, as boyfriend and girlfriend, then fiancés, and now as husband and wife, and we make the drive from our house 45 minutes away. Every time it’s worth the drive and the price. I’d also really recommend their brunch on Sundays. The only things - literally only things - I’d say aren’t great are that the younger servers seem to get a little less pleasant when they’re stressed because it’s busy (there’s one girl I’m thinking of specifically), and that they changed the appetizer bread from rolls to slices, and they cut them weird. Overall I’d give it like a 98%

4.4 stars Good brunch meal on a Sunday. Arrived just in time because the place filled up and then there were people waiting outside. Server was attentive and place was clean. Menu has lots of yummy items. A couple of us got the hot honey chicken sandwich, which we thought was good but not great. Couldn't taste the pimento cheese and the hot honey didn't shine. Chicken was cooked perfectly though and was juicy. The sweet potato tots were great and the hash browns were not crispy. The avocado toast special was delicious and comment was best ever.

I had been at the Winston-Salem utility company and was waiting a while and got hungry. I decided to go to the closest brunch location. When I arrived, there was a wait. I decided to eat at the bar. They server was attentive and immediately took my order. There were flat screens TV on the wall. The atmosphere was pleasant and warming. I met others that have recently moved to Winston-Salem and are getting to know our surroundings.

Wifey and I came here for brunch and everything was delicious, she ordered hot chicken 🐔 sandwich 🥪 and it was tasty 😋. Grits are stone ground which was tasty, pancake had a nice crunch outside and soft inside, hash browns had a little spice and kick to them. All around good food 😋. Would recommend

My partner and I had our first date here so YC has a special place in my heart, but that doesn't stop the food from being delicious and with a rotating Specials Menu that always seems to have a hit on it. I also love the use of Texas Pete in many dishes . Great food and friendly staff this is definitely a recommended spot in Winston Salem

I had been wanting to try Young Cardinal for quite some time, but it always seemed so busy. During our most recent Winston trip, however, my wife and I decided to bite the bullet and endure whatever wait we had to. Fortunately, it wasn’t a long one: the quoted fifteen-to-twenty minutes ended up being more like twelve. We ended up with a patio table perfect for people-watching (and likely not as loud as inside the restaurant would have been). Young Cardinal’s menu offers up pancakes, waffles, omelets, bowls, and benedicts (among other things) for breakfast as well as sandwiches and salads for lunch. The biscuits/benedicts/omelets offer a good deal of customizability, including vegetarian options. There is also an assortment of coffee drinks, including several spiked coffees. After briefly contemplating the French toast of the day (a bread pudding inspired concoction with a cherry glaze – probably amazing but more dessert than brunch entrée), I opted for the hot honey chicken and pimento Benedict with hash browns as the side while my wife went with the Young Cardinal breakfast (eggs hard fried, bacon, grits, and a biscuit with a side of gravy) and a millionaire’s coffee (Irish cream, Kahlua, Frangelico, whipped cream). Given how busy Young Cardinal was, we were expecting a bit of a wait for our food, but thankfully, that proved not to be the case. Service here is remarkably efficient and pleasant as well. The food was good though had I been more ravenously hungry and subjected to a longer wait for it, I might have been more critical. The Benedict was nicely plated with the eggs done just right. The chicken cutlets were a bit thin, but they delivered the expected flavors (spicy and sweet). My wife appreciated the hard cook on the eggs and enjoyed everything on the plate. Pricing was moderate: $17 apiece for our dishes. I don’t know if the other Andrews Group establishments run as tight a ship as this, but with food and service as good as they are here, it isn’t hard to see why Young Cardinal always seems to draw a crowd.

I came here with a friend a couple of weeks ago, and I was pleasantly surprised. The menu items were very reasonably priced, I was expecting to see higher prices, glad I didn't. I ordered the hot honey chicken salad, and it did not disappoint. I remember the server came to us and asked if we needed boxes, and I specifically stated, "No, I'm gonna finish this", in such a happy way. We sat at a window bar height table, which gave us the opportunity to people watch while we chatted.

What an awesome place!! Caitlin our waitress was so friendly and we were seated right away. The most delicious Benedict I’ve ever had do yourself a favor and get the hot honey Benedict!!! Best ever.

The restaurant itself is lovely and the place settings are all very curated and cute. I would give five stars for service even though our waiter forgot about us at the end of our experience... but another gal stepped up and she gave me a candle and lit it for me and wished me happy birthday! The food was good and I think it was worth the price; we just went at a very busy time. I would give the atmosphere 3.5 stars because inside the restaurant is very cramped and you can hear, well, everything that goes on while cooking and your neighbors' conversations, too. I do understand why people love this place though. It's an elevated take on southern comfort food in a bougie part of downtown Winston.

Delicious tomato pie, homey and healthy. The indoor dining area feels cozy but a little hot. The burger is delicious, feels like a mix of shake shack and in n out, definitely worth it for $16. Would recommend it if you run out of options in Winston Salem

Pleasant ambience with outdoor seating available. Fried pickles are lightly fried - just how I like them. Fried chicken and mac and cheese were delicious.

I had a ribeye sandwich with French fries. The steak was tender and delicious. The sweet peppers were a great touch! It was served on. “Cuban” hoagie roll. I wouldn’t classify it as Cuban bread but it was delicious! I had heard so much about the Tomato Pie that I took one home to try. This is my first Tomato Pie experience and I must say: YUM! Highly recommend this spot for a delicious meal and excellent service!

Everything was delicious and the service was spectacular. Sat at one of the tables outside for my husband's birthday and the summer breeze paired perfectly with the port spritzer 😉 definitely try the Southern egg rolls, the pulled pork and collards was a stellar combo. The fried chicken with compote was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had.

If you are looking for a cute brunch location on a beautiful Sunday then Mozelle’s is worth checking out. We sat outside and enjoyed the fall colors in the distance. Loved how there were blankets and a space heater incase we got cold. I got a mimosa and an omelette with breakfast potatoes. The food was delicious and great service.

Amazing food, extremely fast and pleasant servers. Perfectly cooked ribeye. Perfect cooked eggs. My coffee never got below half. Delicious fried mushroom app. Just outstanding experience. Coleslaw is perfect. The rueban is amazing. Homestyle chips were crispy and so good. Ranch was very tasty. Everything was great. 10/10 highly recommend.

This restaurant was an amazing surprise for me. This place is fantastic! Firstly we were very warmly greeted at the door and shown you our seats. The service was fast and very friendly. And the food was outstanding. I had one of the best omelets that I've ever had (Mediterranean omelet) and my wife's chicken souvlaki was excellent as well. I will be stopping by again when coming through Winston Salem!

Haven't been here in a while... Still looks exactly the same. Food was good and portions were large if you want that. Service was ok but it was so overcrowded at lunch time I think servers were just overwhelmed and not as relaxed and friendly. I think next time I would go later due to crowding.

Good portion sizes of food that tastes great. Veggie omelette is chunky. Biscuit is homemade and fresh, big warm and flaky. Service is prompt, and coffee is hot. Nice casual environment for a leisurely breakfast.

I eat at Cagney‘s on Gumtree Road and I will say that every Cagney’s has consistently good grilled chicken!!! It’s always cooked too perfection, not overcooked. I don’t particularly care for the packaged mayonnaise as it is just full of soy oil, but the sandwich was scrumptious.

Cagney's is just great. Fast, satisfying, delicious, and something for everyone. I find this chain to deliver consistently from store to store. My reason for my review today, however, is Mason. Her quick wit and friendly banter made us feel at home. She coursed our meal perfectly and we ordered a lot. I had just finished an extremely grueling work week and was still in my pajamas at 1 pm on a Sunday. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Appreciated her extra health and safety standards aswell. Drinks were never empty. We were not rushed and we did not wait for a thing. She is obviously a professional at her craft. So if the store isn't overly packed be sure to ask for her. I'm confident she will uphold the standards of this well ran establishment!

Great little diner with reasonable prices. Food portions are adequate. O was really surprised at the variety they had on the menu and the no problem attitude with custom orders. Everyone in there was happy to be there. Great way to start the day.

Stopped in this morning for breakfast. I was in between a showing and a closing. I liked this little urban restaurant. Food was on par as usual. I had the Breakfast Combo with French Toast, 2 eggs scrambled with a side of bacon. I also enjoyed a glass of Mango Peach Bellini. Overall, excellent service and food. Definitely recommend. Make sure to snap a picture of your license plate to validate your parking!

1st time here. I enjoyed the breakfast bowl I got with the sausage gravy. The margarita flight was good. The water is really good here too. My daughter enjoyed her country ham with her breakfast bowl. I will come back here to try other dishes.

This little breakfast place is such a cute little place, it's convently located next to some of Winston-Salem's best spots to hang out and they will even validate your parking for up to three hours. The inside of the restaurant features tons of natural light and beautiful art pieces, the outside is shaded with fans to help beat the heat as well as some cute little plants to liven up the outdoor dining area. The food was super good, my husband and I both got omelettes which were well seasoned and fluffy. I would definitely recommend their wild berry mimosa as it was tasty and refreshing. The wait staff was also amazing and continued to check on us to ensure our dinning experience was going well, I definitely recommend trying this restaurant and we will be going back with the rest of the family.

I enjoyed my stuffed French toast. I wish it was regular cream cheese instead of the berry cream cheese but it was still good. I felt bad for my friend because the kitchen didn't make her food until everyone was done. And they didn't even give her a discount. The waitress did her best to get everything thay we needed. She did good and I know the food wasn't her fault. It happens.

Breakfast Bliss in Downtown Winston! Famous Toastery in Downtown Winston is everything you want in a brunch spot—friendly vibes, cozy patio seating, and seriously good food. I stopped by for breakfast and was greeted by the sun, a hot cup of coffee, and some of the best waffles I’ve ever had. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and dusted with powdered sugar—perfection. I ordered eggs, avocado, and bacon on the side and topped it off with a dash of hot sauce (Texas Pete, of course—it’s North Carolina!). Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and just the right kind of indulgent. Whether you’re posting up solo like me or bringing friends, this place makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend grabbing a seat on the patio if the weather’s nice!

Food took an extra 10 minutes plus past pick up time. It should not take over 40 minutes in total for a to go order for 3 meals. Only 2 tables in the restaurant and 2 to go orders while I was waiting. Staff didn't really seem to care. They were mostly in the kitchen laughing. Food wasn't bad but won't be back just because the service was awful.

The vibe was cozy and welcoming, and the staff was super friendly—especially Ryanne, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The menu has a great variety of classic and creative options, and the food was fresh and flavorful. I tried the stuffed French toast and a breakfast burrito—both were delicious! Coffee was strong and hot, just how I like it. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that it got a bit busy and the wait was a little long, but totally worth it once the food arrived. Will definitely be back. Great spot for a laid-back, satisfying breakfast!

I was venturing into the neighborhood and found this location for breakfast. When I entered the establishment, they had a buffet style lunch where you selected what you wanted. Since I wanted breakfast, we just sat at a booth. I can not complain. The grits were good. The server was quick and very attentive. I will definitely return.

Ate here while visiting Wake Forest hospital. Parents had breakfast and I had the cafeteria buffet plate. Parents split french toast eggs biscuits and gravy and grits. I went with the one meat ( pork tenderloin) and two sides ( mac and cheese and mashed potatoes) . Parents loved everything but the gravy ( but we are used to a more brown sausage heavy gravy style) and the pork was so tender I could've used my fork to cut it. Good creamy mashed potatoes and mac and cheese also. Definitely a new place to visit when getting treatments in the area.

We had such a great breakfast at Duke’s! The coffee was delicious — smooth and exactly what I needed. I had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, fresh tomato slices, French toast, and a biscuit — everything was hot, flavorful, and satisfying. What really stood out was the service. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and they went above and beyond by making a special Mickey Mouse pancake and got a coloring book for my 2-year-old, which absolutely made his day. Little touches like that go a long way! It’s a charming, family-friendly spot that feels like a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a cozy place to enjoy a hearty breakfast with your loved ones, Duke’s is definitely worth a visit.

Great place for breakfast or lunch! The staff are all very friendly & those girls are fast! The pancakes have real fruit in them & I love the french toast too, just like my grandma used to make me. They will grill your bread instead of toasting & they grill their muffins also. The best side is the grilled tomatoes! The southwest burrito is so good & filling. The turkey melt is delicious, get it!

We absolutely loved our waitress. This local favorite hangout was not my cup of tea. May have been a bad day, with hard biscuits on the menu. We will definitely be back to try lunch, cafeteria line style food. Hope to change my opinion about this restaurant.

Slow service today and wasn't that crowded. Slow getting refill of coffee. Ordered cinnamon roll. It didn't have as much glaze as usual. Requested additional but was told they dont ofer more glaze than what is already on the pastry. Very disappointed by this response

My wife and I along with our son ate here for the first time tonight. And I say I did not disappoint we got the 18oz NY Strip stake and our son got the chicken sandwich and we shared the hot honey cheesecake. The stake was honestly the best stake we have had in quite some time it was cooked to perfection and the cheesecake was to die for.the salad was amazing as well. Definitely will be returning

The service was absolutely five-star, attentive, friendly, and professional. However, for a restaurant positioned as high-end, the food just didn’t deliver. The restaurant was nearly empty during our visit, and while the presentation was nice, the quality wasn’t there. I’ve honestly had better crab cakes from Harris Teeter’s (Signature crab cakes). The succotash with the crabcakes seemed old and flavorless. For the prices charged, I expected a much higher level of flavor and quality. Overall, great service but very average food for the cost. I won’t be going back again and it’s the second time I’ve eaten there and both times disappointing.

The Moravian-pecan crusted salmon is my favorite salmon dish of all time. Cooked to perfection, and the sauce balances out the whole thing. Everything we've had here has tasted great. Even the rolls are delicious, which tells me they care about every part of the meal.

Let me tell ya something, this Restaurant was Amazing!!!! Everything we tasted was very delicious and the eleven of us who dined together all had different entrees!!! It’s very worth your time and money!

Milner’s is my favorite restaurant in Winston~Salem. Buddy and John are incredible Chefs. Whenever family and friends ask where to eat I tell them “We’re going to Milner’s”. The food is superb, the service friendly and expert. The bar room and the rest of the restaurant have great atmosphere and ambience. On Sunday evenings Milner’s has a great jazz combo led by Herb Stevens an incredible jazz guitarist. They start at 6pm on Sundays!! There is nothing like dining with live music that is perfect for cocktails and dinner! My wife Sarah and I love it there!

When you first walk in your are greeted with such professionalism. After being lead to our table the server came over, very energetic and great personality. From the apps to the main course your needs were taken care of.

I had breakfast at Miam Breakfast this morning, and it was an excellent experience. The service was outstanding, and the food was cooked to perfection. I ordered the ham, egg, cheese, and mushroom omelet, which was fluffy and flavorful. The pancakes truly lived up to all the great reviews—light, fluffy, and delicious. I also had a bowl of grits, which were smooth and tasty. Prices are very reasonable, and they even offer a military discount. Parking can be a bit tight around the building, but there’s an open lot right next to it that makes things much easier. Overall, Miam is a great choice for breakfast if you’re staying downtown. Highly recommended.

Checked this place out while in Winston-Salem last week. Great choice! I was greeted warmly and seated quickly. My server, Olivia, was kind and helpful. I will ask for her section the next time I stop in. The menu offers a wide variety of options. I ordered the Island Omelet with hash browns and wheat toast. Very flavorable and generous portions. The toast was not dried up hard brown bread... it was quality grain bread! And the coffee... the BEST! Can't even explain how good it was except to say I asked for a cup of it to go! If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and try Miam!

It's ALWAYS packed. And now we know why. All the waiters are nice. We've had multiple aside from our own check on us. Even the manager. We were seated fairly quickly considering how busy they always are. Have patience. I got an Islander omelette. Husband got Islander Skillet. I also got Red, white, and blue waffles. Only complaint is bathroom is small and it's one. So, the line ends up with line coming through door. Tight area.

First time there. They were very busy this Saturday morning, but they were very efficient in handling the crowd. The service was great, and the food was delcious and well prepared. I had the Blueberry Muffin breakfast. I intend to return and try some of the other great looking options, particularly the Burgers.....

It was my first time at this location. It was crowded but I was able to get a seat. I ask for eggs, link sausages and white toast. When the food arrived I received sausage patties. I immediately informed the waitress about the error and she informed me that they don't have any link sausageand proceeded to walk away. I wasn't going to return it because we all know what can happen. I tasted it, but was like a little meatloaf. It had plenty of breadcrumbs for me. Location looks clean and they are very busy.

I ordered the blueberry hush puppies with honey butter, and blueberry compote along with the avocado toast. The blueberry hush puppies were listed as a restaurant favorite so I wanted to try those. Unfortunately, they were overcooked. I thought maybe it was just mine but the table next to me said the same thing. I think they would’ve been delicious had they not been cooked for so long. The compote was delicious. The avocado toast was good. The service was great and this seems to be a place that is always busy. I will definitely go back and try other items on the menu.

Fried catfish with tartar and cocktail sauce was delicious! Green beans were perfect. Mac and cheese was okay. Key lime pie cake was decent - very moist, but I like key lime in pie form better. Knocking a point for moldy lemon in my water, but very friendly service!

Nice. Clean. Family friendly. Got the liver & onions with okra, rice, gravy & cornbread muffin. No complaints about the tasty oversized portions. I skipped dinner and will have leftovers for lunch. Service was excellent and restrooms were clean.

First time coming in here being that my job is only a few doors down. I heard a lot of good things so I had to check it out for myself. The service was A1 all the way around. All our good came out pretty fast and it was hot. They also give you large portions of food too. I like the fact that the waitress continuously made sure we were good and kept our drinks replenished. I never had fried squash before but it was so so good.

Clemmons Kitchen is absolutely the best family restaurant in the Clemmons and Winston-Salem NC area. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a large variety of meals. All the meals that I have ever had are delicious and they know how to cook southern style and their Greek dishes are delicious too. This family has had this restaurant for more than forty years and they are the best too! They certainly care about their customers and treat you like family! The town of Clemmons is truly blessed to have this restaurant in our area!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Clemmons Kitchen, and I can’t stop thinking about their baklava cheesecake — truly a masterpiece! It’s the perfect fusion of flaky, nutty baklava and rich, creamy cheesecake. But it didn’t stop there — I also sampled a few of their other cakes, and each one was just as impressive. The red velvet was moist and flavorful with just the right amount of tang in the cream cheese frosting, and the chocolate cake was deeply rich without being too heavy. It’s clear that everything is made with care.

I went in for breakfast. The eggs were fine but the sausage links were way overcooked. When I tried to cut it, it slid if the plate. The butter on the toast pooled on top and I wiped it off with the napkin. I will not go back!

My wife our daughter and I came here 2 Saturdays ago and Wow everything was awesome. Food service Desert!!! Wow we will come back again and again... Fantastic place to eat

Stopped by the Waffle House in Winston-Salem and had the bacon steak breakfast sandwich, it hit the spot. Cooked just right, flavorful, and super satisfying. The staff was friendly and kept things moving even during a busy time. Classic Waffle House vibe with good food and quick service. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area.

Had a great 10pm dinner experience at this Waffle House location. The ladies that served us were very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. The restaurant was also clean as could be.

My favorite place to go after work. The nightshift is awesome! They run the place great even at the busiest late night weekend ours and they NEVER skimp on quality! Always great! Yhey always remember my regular orders too. Great people. I always sit and stay when I can.

The staff are always so nice! Highly recommend. They get you quickly seated and served and are very attentive.

Very disappointed! I use to work for waffle house and this was an horrible experience! To began the "mom" that took my order gave me the dirtiest spoon for my coffee...as my order was called nobody stood on a mark lol order called however definitely not the waffle house way! Needless to say I got my food and the grits were HORRIBLE...full of clumps and they just laid my cheese on top! Bacon burnt on one side and raw on the other...I walked out...I'll never go back currently enjoying Jonestown 😉

The service here is nice. The people are humble here. The service is pretty fast. I was here in Saturday morning and i didn’t had to wait to be seated. The place was clean. This place had plenty of parking space. We had a nice waffle experience here.

Older lady was rude. Felt sorry for the younger pregnant lady. She was so sweet…. Wish I could really speak my mind. Tired of people thinking they can openly be disrespectful. You’re fired… 😅

I was staying by the restaurant for 7 days and found it on my last day there. So sad as it was so so good I could have gone daily!!! Service was amazing and attentive. Atmosphere is also great. Clean and modern. The food selection was vast with lots of different options. Overall a must stop by place ! If I’m ever around here again I will definitely be back!

This was our first time visiting. Our waitress Sara was great. The food was awesome. We will be back.

I was excited for the pumpkin pancakes. The waitress asked if I wanted 2 or 4. I knew how big they were so I asked for 2. When they came out they were not much bigger then a coffee cup. After we were seated the staff was turning people away saying they couldn't serve any one anymore. Mind you it was 9:30 am on a Friday. The only people in the restaurant were my husband, me, and another couple. People were coming in and not given a reason why they couldn't be helped. The floor was sticky from the time we walked in all of the way to our table. It was the weirdest thing I'd seen in a restaurant.

We waited a long time to place our drink order. Another table that was seated after us with the same server was greeted before us. And our server wasn't very good at his job. He was slow and seemed to be overwhelmed with just a few tables. This could be overlooked and understandable if they were busy....but there weren't very many people there when we were there.

If ordering to go make sure to check your order before leaving!!!!! Missing multiple items that were ordered were missing and clearly they billed us for them on the receipt. Also the portion of hashbrowns were the size and thickness of a half dollar. Staff were pleasant but not accurate when preparing the order.

Our waitress Joyce Morton is awesome and very attentive. I eat there every week and make sure she is our waitress. Very courteous and friendly and makes sure we have what we need. Been coming there to the University IHOP for a year now. And I will be there again this weekend. She is an awesome person and waitress.

You can tell that there isn't any management in the evening. We went tonight for a quite dinner after work. 9pm. There was a guy walking in and out of the kitchen. Talking boarder line yelling about raising his kids and the woman cook was interacting with him. My whole meal we had to listen to him across the restaurant. That ruined the meal for us. Food was good. But this place needs structure.

TLDR: gave us half the food we ordered an hour late Ordered crepes (and that’s it) for a to-go pickup, they were super late and then when we got outside to check the box there were only 2/4 crepes. We went back in and they said that they were “out.” Only after we went back inside they offered French toast as a replacement, which we again then had to wait for. This should have been communicated up front instead of trying to get away with giving us half of an order.

I think sometimes people take things way out of context because every time I’ve gone in there I’ve received good genuine service but when people come in with higher the mighty attitudes those are the ones that complain at the end of the day it’s not easy to give a service to so many different types of people this is the reason why business are closing or don’t have workers cause that server is making 2.15 a hour I frequent this restaurant a lot and enjoy these girls and the hardwork and dedication that these ladies give off I have experienced Mariah as a server personally Saturday night she was very sweet and respectful! We loved her service . She introduced herself immediately very great server

My fiance and I loved Mary's! The atmosphere is inviting and cozy, and the decor is fabulous. On the upper level, the whole room is basically one fantastic mural; the main scene covers an entire wall and the ceiling is painted to look like a sky with fluffy clouds. The menu has a wide variety of options to accomodate the entire spectrum of dietary restrictions, including vegetarian meat sausage patties, tofu scrambles, and gluten-free bread. I had an almond milk cappuccino, a half order of the French toast, and the veg sausage-- everything was delicious! My fiance had the special (a quesadilla with organic spinach, cheddar, 2 eggs on top, sour cream, and fresh corn salsa) with a side if hash browns, which was also yummy! The waitstaff were all friendly and helpful, and worked together to ensure a great guest experience. Would definitely recommend!!!

Found this cute little diner online and I was excited to try it! We went at most popular time in Sunday, so waited about 45 min to be seated- which I expected. Hostess seated us while she cleaned the table and told us the specials of the day. Didn’t really like that- seemed like the wait staff needed more help initially, to get our drink orders in. Our waitress was basically seated 4 tables at once and no one to help her get our coffee out. Once she took our order, food came out quickly, but was just warm. Would have tasted better hot. Food was okay, I thought it was going to be better.

We stopped for a quick bite. I had the tomato basil soup. It was unbelievable! My boyfriend had the chocolate peanut butter pie. Both were delicious. I also had the drink of the day, lavender lemonade. It was excellent. Service was great. Will definitely return!

Absolutely one of the best breakfast places in Winston!! Food is Great and service was awesome. If I lived any closer I would eat here at least two to three times a week!

Mary's was such an amazing place for brunch. I got the biscuits and gravy (pictured) and it was some of the best gravy I've ever had. The biscuits were fluffy and light, and the hash browns I ordered on the side were fantastic. They added onions and cheddar cheese in them and, though it was unexpected, I loved it. Also just as important as the food was the service. Our waitress was Sireyia and she did an excellent job. Our coffee cups were always full and he demeanor was welcoming. She answered all our questions and more. Looking forward to coming back!

Love it! Mary's is always a spectacular experience. Dena is amazing! She is always on top of things and remembers the little things. She is almost always our server and She never disappoints. 10/10 would recommend. (Heart shaped biscuit not guaranteed.)

Ordered their special for the day - egg Benedict with pulled pork and BBQ hollandaise sauce, a regular egg Benedict, and a sandwich. Everything was very good and the service was also top notch. The interior is hipster.
