Hatch Sandwich Bar is a charming lunch spot located in Hickory, NC that opened its doors in 2012. This cozy eatery offers a variety of unique sandwiches, including vegetarian options, all served in a colorful counter-serve nook. What sets Hatch apart is their commitment to sustainability by sourcing many ingredients locally and offering daily specials announced on their website and Facebook page.
Solid selection with some unique menu items. I had the pastrami cheesesteak and it was fantastic. Friendly staff and plenty of places to sit down. Would definitely recommend if you're in the Hickory area.

Here's a short positive review for Hatch sandwich shop: Absolutely loved my experience at Hatch in downtown Hickory! This local spot is a real gem. I had the Rueben and it was easily one of the best I've ever had – perfectly grilled and packed with flavor. My colleague's salad looked incredible too. The outdoor seating area is a fantastic bonus, and the location in charming downtown Hickory just adds to the whole wonderful vibe. Highly recommend stopping by Hatch for a delicious meal!
Jamie D — Google review
We were driving through Hickory and just googled a lunch spot. Hatch came up with great reviews so we decided to make a stop. Place was buzzing with people and a queue. Staff was trying to handle phone orders and in-store orders so we didn’t try to ask any questions. Board showed a great selection of sandwiches and Thanksgiving turkey caught our eyes. Maybe it was not the right choice as the sandwich we received was underwhelming. We have never seen a Turkey sandwich so sad looking. Definitely not giving a Thanksgivings vibe. Made us regret that we didn’t stop at Jersey Mike’s. If pulled pork sandwiches are the specialty, will be good to know on the board.
Grace S — Google review
Unfortunately no pictures of the sandwich it was that good. I inhaled it. Damn that sandwich was good, steak and cheese. Perfect combo. Highly reccomened as a stop.
Fred G — Google review
Visiting the area and tried this place based on reviews. We had the French burger, which had Brie & strawberry jam and the Thanksgiving sandwich. Burger was cooked perfectly and the Brie & berry combo was surprisingly good. The Thanksgiving sandwich was toasted to perfection. There wasn’t much to it (turkey, cheese & cranberry) but it was simply good. We upgraded to sweet potato fries (comes with chips) which came with this amazing dip. Fries were good. Portion sizes were good for us - not super sized but still larger than one portion. I would eat here again to try something else. There were several things on the menu that made it to my short list. They have fountain drinks and bottled beverages. Also desserts available. Dine inside or out (limited outside seating) Service was quick.
Patti D — Google review
Last night was our first time to dine at Hatch — but it won’t be our last! I had commented several times when heading downtown for a play that we should give it a try and we finally did. Yes, theater goers— its super close to Hickory Community Theater! We tried several things. The pulled pork grill cheese was delicious — piled high with pork and yummy cheese! We also order the three sides plate. We chose the Brussels sprouts with maple, the broccoli with miso, sumac roasted carrots. The broccoli stands out for the umami flavors and the carrots were just perfection. The REAL standout for the night was the charred eggplant with “cashew-cilantro cream, pickled mustard seeds, parsley, and hot honey”. WOW! It was amazing. It might not win any prizes for beauty, but for flavor, it is top notch! If they have this on special when you dine there, don’t miss it. We were actually using the bread from our sandwiches to get every last bit of that cashew cream from the plate. Yes, it is that good. When you are looking for a place that isn’t fancy or pretentious, has good prices and excellent food, give Hatch a try.
Michele H — Google review
Time for lunch and I was able to get a parking space close to Hatch. We ordered at the counter and took a seat in the back where sandwiches were delivered about 15 minutes later. Made to order and they were busy, so this is an appropriate time. They have a cooler with beers and canned/bottled sodas. There is also a self-service soda fountain in the back. It's a nice dining area with different options for seating including a large communal table, some high tops and low tops. There might be a wifi. Restrooms were clean. Sandwiches arrived and they were great. I had chose the "Club" which was ham, turkey and bacon with appropriate fixings. Delicious, slightly messy, very yummy. My wife had the "Thanksgiving Turkey" with cranberry and thick sliced tomato. Also excellent. Great lunch, nice little place. I'm glad we found it!
Bruce K — Google review
Cozy little sandwich shop with great variety and fresh ingredients. Tried the turkey avocado, thanksgiving, Reuben and turkey melt. All were great. Prices were reasonable. The Brussel sprouts were a great side. Lots of choices for beer and sodas. They offer takeout and no one waited more than 5 minutes while we were there. Place sits at one end of a quaint downtown street. Worth the stop.

Eclectic restaurant
Nestled in a vibrant setting, Boca is an industrial-chic restaurant that captures the essence of Mediterranean dining with its eclectic small plates and entrees. Known for its delightful tapas inspired by Spanish, Mediterranean, and Moroccan cuisines, Boca prides itself on using fresh local ingredients. Guests can enjoy a lively atmosphere enhanced by jazz music while sipping on inventive craft cocktails or selecting from a fine array of Spanish wines at the live-edge bar.
Wow. Attention to detail is alive and well here. What a spectacular experience. Amazing service, food that is out of this world, and beautiful ambiance!! I will rave about this place for years. Do not pass up the opportunity to visit here!! Tiffany, the bartender/server was the vest in the business! She was amazing! Again, do not miss an opportunity to dine here!
Sheldon K — Google review
This is such a beautiful restaurant. We ordered just off of the tapas menu and were not disappointed! We recommend the pheasant and veil sausage. The street corn was also very good.
Heather B — Google review
This place was good, food descriptions were vague. One of our dishes had something very spicy in it and the menu didn’t specify that nor did our server. The Quality of food was amazing, great cocktails and the place is beautiful. Plenty of parking. Next time we’ll be asking detailed questions of everything we want.
Shana C — Google review
Naan: the naan was good but the dips did not have enough spices, they were bland! Falafel: It was delicious!! Again not too spicy. These dishes were not very authentic but I guess they were made as per their target consumers! The ambience was really beautiful!!
Eggetarian R — Google review
We have eaten at Boca for years. We were there in December and had excellent food including filet, Brussels, piquillos, and the whipped ricotta. We returned Saturday and ordered two filets medium rare. They are supposed to be 8 oz. Mine was very small and thin (definitely not 8 oz) and was overcooked likely because of how it was cut. My husband's was more the traditional shape but was inedible due to being mostly fat. It was a very strange and offputting shiny, slimy texture. He had to request a new one, which meant he ate well after us. There also was zero urgency in getting him the new one. This is not an inexpensive meal. The attention to detail and execution were a big letdown after having such a great meal last month. December gets 5⭐️; January gets 3⭐️. I'll gladly edit again if consistency returns because we want Boca to succeed.
Julie C — Google review
Wonderful meal! The presentation was lovely as well as the service and flavor. The ambience and decor is exceptional. I would highly recommend.

I expected something really nice, but I got something more than special and unique. I went with my boyfriend to celebrate a special day in our relationship and I couldn't have choosen a better place. All those details, from the entrance, service, food, until the restrooms impressed us in a positive way. Thank you Boca, for your good taste in decoration, staff and food.

I celebrated my 40th birthday at Boca. We had a private room in the back that was beautiful. The service was outstanding!! We loved the blueberry mules. I also enjoyed the no vacation no problem and and espresso martini with my birthday cake. Both were delicious. The filet was beyond perfect. We will definitely be back. Thanks so much for everything!!

Awesome vibe, terrific service and scrumptious food make this a great place to visit. Lots of delicious food items to choose from. It has plenty of seating and a very efficient and friendly staff. Just a great place to eat or to hang out in. They offer my favorite a portabella mushrooms sandwich that keeps me coming back again and again. The pizza, appetizers etc are yummy too!

Olde Hickory Tap Room was recommended by the locals, so we decided to try it. The food was very good and the service was wonderful. We stopped it for lunch and the portions were big. Took our servers recommendations and they did not disappoint. They do their own blue cheese and warm it before adding it to the burger, the best I've ever had. Will try more dishes next time I'm in Hickory.

@oldehickorytaproom Olde Hickory Tap Room for a relaxed Saturday evening dinner. Very enjoyable. Food: Classic chicken tenders - their specialty. These massive tenders are breasts cut into tender and fried to perfection. Amazing crust and tender. It’s a big portion so be prepared to take some home! I would say, best tenders I have ever had. We got the potato salad as a side which was creamy, mustardy, and filled with pickles. Loved it. Service: Wait staff were busy but very friendly. We did have a 30 minute wait but used it ti enjoy the beautiful downtown of Hickory, N.C. However, we did spend 2 hours here and only got chicken tenders… Ambiance: Lowkey bar vibe but still good for families. Location: Nestled in downtown Hickory. Beautiful. Plenty of parking. Nice walk. Rating: Food - 9.1/10 Overall - 8.3/10 #food #foodreview #chicken #tenders #taproom #ncfoodfinds

My server was amazing, as well as the drinks. However, this was probably one of the worst steaks I’ve ever eaten. Absolutely ZERO seasoning, the grill marks are the only reason I can say it wasn’t cooked in a microwave. The sides were not great either. No seasoning on the broccoli and the “Irish root roast” was soft and definitely boiled. I’ll be back, but won’t be eating there again
P R — Google review
Awesome food! Husband got his favorite (The Blueburger) and I got the special (Cornbread chicken pot pie). We also got a side of ghost chili (spicy and warm with ground meat and light beans). The chicken pot pie has a sweetness to it that adds to the flavor. So creamy and yummy! Husband loves the blue cheese burger and ranch with his pub chips.
Jessica M — Google review
The food and service is always good! Very consistent! Deb the bartender is the best!! Love the veggie pizza, fish and chips, Reuben, and great salads! Never had a bad meal here! FYI - they will make anything into a wrap. My only wish is they had the Buffalo fried oysters like the sister restaurant!
Chad C — Google review
This place was fantastic. The service was quick and friendly. Every one was hustling. It was oktoberfest so itbwas very busy. They handled thebextra business amazingly. Probably the best chicken tenders ive ever had.
Odin R — Google review
Your Bar is amazing, the atmosphere is like no other, but your bartender on this night, even though she made great cocktails was distracted, didn't check on us at all or pay attention. We had to get her attention constantly. Just because you make great drinks, doesn't mean you should be a bartender. It's about connection, and she lacked it very much. She seems sweet but that doesn't get the job done in an impressionable way.

Absolutely delicious food! So happy we stopped here for our lunch! My kids were happy with their sandwiches. Our mozzarella appetizer was perfect, the flavors were so good in the sauce! I got the black bean burger (order it crispy!!!) with fried okra and it did not disappoint one bit! It's something I'll be craving now! Our waitress, Nicole, was phenomenal. She was very attentive, kind and helpful in giving additional recommendations based on her personal opinions as well as locals/regulars. Thank you to Nicole for making our experience so great!

Food is good. Chicken was quite moist. Love brunch on the weekends. Like the prices. Wine and beer selection is excellent. Nose level at 2pm was tolerable. Service was decent. What I didn’t like was the dirt under the fingernails of one of the servers. And the bathrooms are disgusting, which makes me wonder about the kitchen. I’ll try someplace else the next time I’m in Hickory.

This place is a cute one! I had the most amazing salad here, loved the mimosa as well! Good little kids menu and reasonable prices. Great beer selection and nice bar area. Very attentive to detail when it came to the food. :) very pleased!

It was a beautiful spring day at lunch time so it was very busy but we only had to wait about 20 minutes. All the servers and employees where very nice. The atmosphere was amazing. I really enjoyed the gift shop at the front of the restaurant and the view from our table was beautiful. The food was so fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this place if you find yourself in Hickory NC!
Jessica B — Google review
I really wanted to give this place at three, but I didn’t because in fairness the Hickory carnival was going on right next-door and I can see the restaurant being the way it was because of the extra customers. I met the manager. His name was William. I only stopped in ate because I was in the area. Starting with the discounts unbelievably they offer none “0” onto the food. I really enjoyed the food. The pizza was good. They had a real crispy crust. I ordered it like ham, sausage and olives. Do not get the olives. They are extra extra salty I also got the wings. They were pretty good. I could see myself eating at disestablishment again. I really like the old feel of the place. They sell lots of special cheeses, wines and other specialty items. I think you should give him a try for the old time feel. they offer what looks like a fully stocked bar. They have inside and outside eating and I think I might’ve saw a fireplace. Our waitress was named Mia. Thank you for your service.

What a horrible disaster!!! This place is in the old Hickory train depot wonderful beautiful building great atmosphere you would think it would be a great place to celebrate someone’s birthday like we did, but it was not. It was a horrible experience. An hour and a half later the birthday girl still had not received her food. Out of 6 adults and 6 children 6 of the burgers were nearly raw and all were requested well done. Server was horrible and had a terrible attitude. The manager came to our table to personally apologize and said he completely agreed with us, our food was nearly raw. He was cool!! we are not diners with an attitude. We are very laid-back and easy to get along with me my wife my daughter have all been servers in restaurants in our younger days and know how it can go, but I would highly recommend against coming here extremely bad experience. This is the third time I have been here and it has never been a great experience food wise the atmosphere and company was great. I only agreed to attend because it was a friend‘s birthday dinner. When the birthday girl finally got her food an hour and a half later the order was wrong as well three strikes you’re out. These photos are of our supposed to be well done burgers. On a semi positive/ negative sidenote the manager told my daughter for each of us to get a free dessert on the way out they have an extremely nice dessert bar as you’re exiting the building however, when we got up there, the lady accused us of lying about him, giving us each a free dessert for our horrible experience!!
R P — Google review
What a wonderful genuine place. We have driven up from Spartanburg both times to grab cheese you can only get there. We had dinner at the bar and what a fun time! The bartender, I failed to get her name but incredible eye makeup, was amazing and we sat, just like last time, with a bunch of regulars. This place makes me want to move to Hickory so I can become a regular too. These salads were beyond delicious and they kept growing in the bowl. Haha We can't wait to come back. Thank you for a super fun Tuesday day off! 😘
Erika J — Google review
I never want to leave bad reviews. But I kind of considered myself a regular. I order their Streak Cobb salad maybe once a week, I have also brought them a lot of business by showing around my lunch. However, it’s always a hit and miss, items would be missing, or the steak portion is off. Today I was craving this salad, after not even having breakfast. All the portions were wrong. I got barely any steak, or onions, or blue cheese, even the greens. It feels like they ran out of ingredients and gave me what was left, not to mention this is a $18 salad. I would be taking a pause from ordering here. Two pictures of a great looking salad and the portion I got today.

American restaurant
FOURK is a trendy establishment with a vibrant ambiance, renowned for its unique American cuisine and specialty drinks. Nestled in a modern neighborhood setting, this restaurant has gained popularity for its innovative twist on classic dishes. It is situated in a charming location and is highly regarded for its delectable food and exceptional service. The menu features an array of tantalizing options including baked Brie, crab cakes, summer peach salads, seared scallops, and filet mignon.
When I say I NEVER give five stars on the first visit, I don't. I reserve those for the second visit on to see consistency. When I also tell you Fourk is life changing, I mean it. Every single dish I tried was thoughtful, creative and unexpected. I knew going into it that I only wanted to do apps, and a lot of them. The marrow mashed is insane. The levels of flavor, with the incorporated marrow, cheese and the pork belly make this (while a rich and slightly heavy choice) one that I will get every time. The crab cakes are a welcome change to what I've found since moving to NC (coming from CT and MA, the mecca of seafood) and a nice feeling of home. Lobster fondue. I don't think I need to say much about this other than if you like lobster, cheese or flavor, just get it. I am pretty sure I will have dreams about the ahi avocado. Two bite powerhouses STACKED with tuna, avocado and a nice spice that isn't overwhelming. Rounded out my evening with the bison sliders and if I could just get a plate of those, I would be happy. My wallet wouldn't because of the number of these I would inevitably put away but I would justify it to myself. I wish I remember the name of the waitress that served us. She was incredibly personable. Her recommendations were on point (I am coming back for the burrata, I just ran out of room!) and was the perfect balance of attentive and aware. The atmosphere here is amazing. Quiet and clean. The sound dampening cleverly hidden in the ceiling makes hearing each other super easy without echoes.

The food was delicious! The appetizer was Brussel sprouts they were fantastic! As well as the lobster dip. Had the ribeye steak with blue cheese sauce and roasted potatoes!! Absolutely will be returning!!
Donna P — Google review
Very bad service and very sub par food. Destroyed my dinner. The sweet potato fries were burned (in the pic). I asked them to not add pork belly to my "Frutti di mare" , and they did it regardless without informing me. Im glad it wasn't a religious restriction else it would have been nasty. I did not eat it. The wine cake was sub par and not worth $11 a slice. Only saving grace was the Burrata. Would definitely not recommend, seems like they are lazy and not only wont see the requests , which is weird cause they have that option on their ordering website, they wont even inform you about that.
Kaz — Google review
Choosing to meet family half way, Hickory had a restaurant that was new to me; Fourk. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, service was very good, and the wide array of lunch options was most pleasing. The portions were plenty at reasonable prices. The chicken wrap was excellent. The shrimp tacos tasted as good as they look, along with the bacon cheeseburger. The sweet potatoe fries were yummy. They also have some choice drafts on hand. We will be back.
Charles J — Google review
Went out to Fourk for my boyfriend and I's 7 year anniversary and it was amazing. Just a warning, there are 2 locations in Hickory so make sure you know which location you reserve your spot for. Parking is just across the street, is free, and easily accessible. Service was on the slow side due to 2 parties of people coming in right before us however the waiter did well keeping up with our drink refills and food with the busy hours. We ordered the Lobster Fondue for our appetizer and it was great. My boyfriend ordered the Ribeye which was cooked perfectly and the potatoes and greens were good as well. I ordered the duck dish, I was unsure of it but this dish has to be one of my top 5 of all time and I am 💯 going to be coming back to order it again. 10/10 and great for a casual meal or dressing up (like we did) for a date night.

Good dining experience. Friendly service and nice setting. The food was decent, but most of the items were overcooked. The libations were well prepared but a little pricey.
Clinton K — Google review
Very nice atmosphere. Tj was our server and he was spectacular. The food was artfully presented and the atmosphere was fine dining.
Heather B — Google review
The food was amazing! We ordered a tuna wonton appetizer & really enjoyed them. I ordered the New York strip, medium, with vegetables & Yukon mashed potatoes. The steak was so tender, full of flavor, was so amazing. At our table was also the Colorado bison ribeye and it was very flavorful as well. Nice char on it outside. The sliders were enjoyed by our son. Our daughter enjoyed the chicken parmesan. I highly recommend. I did give the service a 3 star because our server took forever, we didn't see him for a long time. We arrived at 5p and took an hour and half before leaving. Not the cooks fault, seriously the server and him being wherever he was.

Loved coming here with co-workers for dinner. The stained glass above my head was beautiful! The Betty White drink was great! The calamari was delicious and the duck melted in your mouth! My dessert was really delicious but I would have loved more ice cream. Overall a really great dinner.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Vintage House Restaurant, and it was truly a perfect evening. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, intimate, and special. We were lucky enough to be seated at what I’d call “the best seat in the house” — a cozy table tucked away in the corner with classic red leather seating. It set the stage for a very romantic evening. For appetizers, I enjoyed the crab cakes, which were flavorful and beautifully prepared. For my main course, I had the filet mignon medallions cooked to perfection, while Jackie had the short ribs paired with homemade noodles — tender, rich, and comforting. To finish off our meal, we shared a light pastry with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate ganache. It was the perfect sweet ending to a memorable dinner. Everything from the attentive service to the exquisite food made this anniversary dinner an experience we will never forget. Vintage House Restaurant is a gem in Newton, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate such a special milestone.

We went here for our 35th wedding anniversary. It was a great choice. Not only is this restaurant beautiful but the service was outstanding and the food even better. We started off with a champagne toast, escargot and calamari. So good! We got a great bottle of wine to go with our entrees. My wife had the crabbed stuffed NC trout, it had a fantastic "creamed corn" on the side. She loved it. I had a steak, cooked to perfection! Desserts were heavenly. Our server, Molly, made the night so special. The manager (Jack?) was attentive and made a big deal out of our anniversary. Which it was!!I highly recommend dining here for a very special experience.

First time here and we had a great experience! We were greeted promptly and seated immediately. Service is top notch here. We ordered several dish’s of oysters and all of them were delicious! Lots of different types of oysters to pick from. Full bar w/ lots of beer choices. There are no tables. It is an oyster bar. The atmosphere is nice and clean. I can’t wait to go back. This place is managed very well. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

We came here with new friends we had just met at a spa after they recommended this place! It was neat! First of all you don’t expect it where it is and inside is a total different vibe! Something worth checking out for sure! Jesse was our waitress and was super friendly and real! We enjoyed sitting with her for a couple hours as we enjoyed our experience here! Not only Jesse too, the other wait staff was very personable and friendly too! It’s very clean in here and the food was impeccable! Usually crab legs at most places don’t have flavor however here they’re are packed with it! We got the seafood boil for two! They have nice appetizer options too like corn riblets as well! They have a rotating draft beer selection and good drink options with a full bar! The food hit the spot and the staff was attentive throughout as we enjoyed it! Very great experience here and we will be back for sure! Definitely come check out this hidden jewel of a spot in Hickory! Thank you

I love this place so much, me and my fiance were there for our anniversary and we always have a good time. The oysters are fresh, the label each type and you get them fast. 100% recommend to anyone who loves seafood especially oysters.

My husband and I went here for his birthday. He got the “old money” platter that had a bit of everything, pretty much. I had the special, which was red grouper. He was happy with his and I was with mine. Bill was kind of high, but we expected as much. They did give him cheesecake for his birthday, too. Waitress was very good and considerate of us. Great place!

We visited Standard Oyster during restaurant week. It's likely not a restaurant we would have tried due to not having had oysters before but I'm so glad we decided to try it out. From beginning to end it was a fantastic experience. All the food, our drinks and the service was top notch. The seafood is super fresh and delicious. The cocktails were so good. We even tried a few oysters and they were great. The in-house vinaigrette paired with the oysters really well. Our server was Sherri and she was funny, helpful and made our experience really enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

If you’re craving seafood that sings with freshness and flavor, look no further than Standard Oyster Company. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is energetic yet welcoming—like a seaside escape tucked right into North Carolina. Let’s talk about the grit cakes first: golden, creamy, and kissed with just the right amount of crisp. They’re the kind of Southern comfort that makes you close your eyes and savor every bite. Pair them with their perfectly seared tuna, and you’ve got a plate that’s both elegant and soul-satisfying. Now, the oysters—oh, the oysters! Whether you go raw, broiled, or Rockefeller-style, they’re fresh, briny, and beautifully presented. Each one tastes like a whisper from the ocean. And the shrimp? Plump, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. Whether grilled or nestled in a low country boil, they’re a standout. The staff is attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere strikes that rare balance between upscale and laid-back. It’s the kind of place where you can celebrate a special occasion or just treat yourself because you deserve it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Standard Oyster Company isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a love letter to seafood. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on one of Hickory’s true treasures.

Some of the best oysters we have had in the area. We live in Lincolnton and normally drive to Big Daddy’s, not anymore. We are heading to Hickory for our seafood fix! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Had an early dinner there and the food was really good, the place was clean and atmosphere was nice and the staff was very pleasant. I dropped some cash as we were leaving and one of the ladies remembered our conversation and tracked me down to let me know I had dropped the money. I was very appreciative of her honest but more impressed that she really listened to us and took the time to figure out how to get in touch with me. All-in-all, a great experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here tonight. It was only my second time to visit and a first for my husband. I enjoyed the appetizer that was on special tonight — Bang Bang Shrimp. The portion was a good size, the shrimp were large and the taste was delicious. I also liked my entree which was blackened chicken over smashed potatoes with crispy fried Brussels sprouts. We will definitely look forward to coming back!

Headed to Notions in Hickory? You totally should! Their brunch is seriously 🔥. Those liver mush sliders? Don't knock 'em 'til you try 'em! 😋 And the bananas foster French toast? Sweet heaven! 🍌🍞 The avocado toast is on point too. 🥑 Plus, their Bloody Marys pack a punch 🍹 and who can say no to bottomless mimosas? 🥂 The vibe is chill, and they've got good seating. 👍 Oh, and it is ♿ handicap accessible with its 🅿️ parking, seating and 🚻 restrooms, which is awesome! 🙌

The food we had was very good. Cajun pasta and chicken and the filet mignon. The inside area is a bit crowded and with all the conversations a bit noisy, it has a nice bar and eclectic feel. They have great outdoor seating if the weather is good and are dog friendly outside.

I wish I could remember our servers name. He was great! Atmosphere is nice and cozy. It was a Friday night and a full house which was nice to see! Seems to be a popular spot for locals. Food was also really good. You've got to get the Tempura Cauliflower. It's delicious!

It’s been 2 days and I’m still thinking about the blackened chicken salad, so I thought I needed to give kudos to Notions. I honestly cannot say if I liked the tender chicken, amazing tobacco onions, blue cheese crumbles, or the fresh greens the best. We sat outside because the evening weather was gorgeous and our server was super sweet and courteous. I’m dreaming of going back.
Tiffany H — Google review
We have dined here twice and both meals were very good! A little room for improvement, but definitely worth future visits!! Their outdoor dining is very pleasant on a mild evening. Last night I had the filet with potatoes and brussel sprouts, same thing I had on my previous visit and it is a 10 out of 10! Flavor, portion and cost! Excellent!! My wife had the sliders for her meal and the first time we had them they were very juicy and flavorful, last night they were dried out and ended up as part of our dogs meal for the evening. Also, their fries are just frozen crinkle fries, would have figured something a little more from a nicer restaurant. We shared a cobb salad to start with blue cheese dressing and it was good, but not great. Needed something else for texture and lacked flavor. Our service was good and we thought our server did a great job!! The food runner from The kitchen had the personality of sandpaper... maybe she wasn't having a good evening? But in a customer facing role I think you need to be a little happier and not rude. They forgot my wifes fries and when she mentioned this to the food runner she argued that it hadn't been rung up instead of saying something like let me check on that. Then our server walked up and she kind of argued with him in front of us. That probably should've been a back of restaurant discussion and not arguing with the customer. All that being said! We like it here and WILL return!! We may skip the cobb and sliders, but the filet is excellent!! And good ambience!! To those about to dine, I salute you!!

I came across this restaurant thanks to a co-worker who gifted me a gift card for the holidays. The food was delicious! I have tried the Hickory Wrap & loaded nachos. It was our first time eating here and my wife ordered a Cheeseburger and fries which was good. I ordered the Chipotle Bison Burger, boy, it was hot . I Love chipotle but not this . I also got the Truffle Parmesan fries, not my favorite . On our next trip here I’ll definitely try something different .

Good place to get a sandwich. Food was prepared correctly and served hot. It took a while to be waited on and to get food. Servers are friendly so that makes it nice.

It’s a real shame that the food and service don’t match the ambience here. The atmosphere sets high expectations — stylish, inviting, and full of potential — but the experience falls short where it matters most. The menu promises more than it delivers, and the service feels inconsistent at best. There’s so much potential in this place, but unfortunately, the execution just doesn’t live up to it.

First time here. It was amazing. The server (Lashunda—who was amazing by the way!) said you can’t go wrong with anything in the menu and she was right. I got the Hickory Chicken Wrap with fries. The ranch was sooo good! Overall, great experience! ❤️

We met an old friend for dinner. There were 6 of us. We were seated quickly. I tend to be a burger guy, but I stayed from the usual path and went with the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. I'm glad I did. It was fantastic. I raved about it and then everybody want to try a bite. We've been eating here for years. We loved the old building as well. They have a very nice selection of food. A good beer selection as well. The staff have always been nice. They've given us samples of beer or soup to make sure we wanted it. They've always done the little things. That's why we keep going back!

We went for an early dinner. Food was good and they serve generous amounts of food. We had the fried oysters and seared tuna as appetizers and both were tasty and well done. The server was friendly but not customer service oriented. I asked for a margarita, it had a weird taste and she never asked if I wanted something else or offered to change the drink. All she came up with was, I’m sorry 😞 And to cope it all there was an unrecognized charge on the bill and she said it was an upgraded type of Tequila from the house one. Oh well, we never spoke about that and whatever type of tequila they used did not have a good taste. We paid and left but that was not nice.

The food was good. My husband had pizza while I had the lobster ravioli. They didn't skimp on the lobster and the sauce was good although I prefer the sauce a little thinner since the cheese inside the ravioli is thick. Flavor was very good, though. My husband said the pizza was okay. He likes a crisper crust and found the sauce too seasoned for his taste. The service was very good. Our waitress checked on us just enough and was very pleasant.

I chose to order take out with my department while working at the hospital. I asked my coworker to order the Alfredo, sub angel hair for fettuccine and add chicken. (Which she clearly did) Never have I paid $19 for something so basic. I just specifically can’t get over the $2 Alfredo up charge on the actual “Alfredo” order. Clearly they don’t look out for their delivery orders and instead take advantage of random up charges… after all, isn’t that what putting a phone number on your order would be helpful for?

The food here is absolutely amazing. I usually get the pizza, but my family all usually get some kind of shrimp pasta. The service is hit or miss; sometimes it's quick, and the servers are friendly, but other times, especially with a younger server, there are long waits (not the servers fault, I know), and it often feels like we've been forgotten. For a quick example, the other day when we went here, my glass of water was empty for a good ten minutes before the server even came back to our table to check on us. The atmosphere is very homey and cozy, although the tables can feel a bit clustered, espeucally when they're busy.

We visited your establishment for the first time on July 26, 2025 for my birthday. We waited 15 minutes before our server, Sara, came to get our drink order. The drinks and appetizer was excellent. I am not sure how long we waited for our entree, but it was a while. Again, the food was excellent. There was not excuse for why the dinner was delayed. Other guests that had arrived after us were being served. Our server said well we have gotten busy. (Not so) As it was my birthday we were going to have dessert and coffee, however we were brought our bill and told goodbye. On the way out, we mentioned to the hostess that Sara need more training. We were told that she is New. I will try your restaurant again as the food is so good, but I hope the service is much better.

this place is quite litterally the best Japanese place you will find. a few things you MUST know though. one its tiny, 2 you need a reservation, its not required per say, but theres only 4 tables so good luck getting in without one. and lastly this is NOT your typical american japanese restaurant. this place is like going to a familys home in japan to eat. outside of it not being a house thats the feeling. and thats a good thing. haveing so few seats is honestly what makes this place so amazing. they have heart. and if they for some reason expanded to a larger location and got overwhelmed trying to serve 20 people at once quality might fall. this place is awesome. and i recommend anyone that likes asian style food to try it at least once. your not just a customer here. your a guest in their home so to say.

I feel like I got robbed. My family and I got hibachi dinners, and they were not good. My mom thought her hibachi chicken tasted like potted meat. The shrimp sauce tasted rancid. The miso soup was the only thing that was good. After the tip the meal costed 40 dollars per person, and it wasn't worth anything. I would avoid at all costs.

I only had coffee, but there were plenty of other selections. I had the Edgar Allan Poe frap with the unique combination of lemon and dark chocolate. Food was good and fresh. You can order at a kiosk as you enter. The coffee drinks were good. (If you get just regular coffee you just get a cup and fill up by the canisters but specialty they will call you or a wait staff will bring it to you.) Staff is nice but it is kind of a half self serve environment, you pick your table, and clean your stuff off. They did bring our food and specialty drinks and were very nice. The environment is eclectic. Lots of paintings, some books as you enter. Various seating options, bar style, regular tables, view of the street or inside of building.

If you are traveling on I-40 near Hickory you MUST STOP BY! We found this gem on accident and we are so glad we did. I don’t think I’ve EVER gotten such a good americano. We got breakfast burritos and bowls, very fresh ingredients and perfect portion size. They have a full menu, tons of coffee bean options, local art for sale, and a free book library! We stopped on a Sunday AM and there was also live music. We will add this to our routine when we head to and from the mountains! Most of the tables were small but you can move things around- there was one larger group.

I finally found it. A GOOD QUALITY restaurant with true gluten-free food. Food that tastes as good as non-gluten free. Only in downtown Boston have I eaten gluten-free free food this good. Now I have to do most of my shopping in Hickory, NC, so that I can stop by again. It's really hard to have celiac. I am not GF by choice. I have no choice. The only thing about relocating to the Carolinas is that it doesn't seem like many people understand how serious having celiac is. This restaurant understands and doesn't compromise quality either. Thank you Charlie Graingers.

Lots of gluten free options including hush puppies and homemade cakes. Both the hush puppies and the cake were absolutely delicious. BBQ sauce was quite tasty as was the brisket. My new favorite restaurant in all of North Carolina. Right off 127 in Hickory, a modest building hides an amazing restaurant with some of the best fried shrimp I have ever tasted that happens to also be gluten free. Plus the hush puppies are also gluten free! I had the trifecta of Fried Shrimp, hush puppies and great tartar sauce for the first time in over 15 years since I had to go gluten free. This is no accident, the chef herself is gluten free and expertly crafts the seasoned breading by hand. She also made a killer pumpkin cheesecake with gluten free graham cracker crumbs and makes several other GF cakes that I hope to sample soon. Also the soups are GF and amazing like everything we tried! I would give this place six stars if I could. We just loved this place for the food, the great customer service and down home atmosphere! Well done!

She kept filling my water, even with a new cup but it kept having dust or towel particles in it. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be drinking lint, towel particles or dust. Anyway, I think that made her feel awkward the rest of the experience. Food was delicious and our waitress was a great waitress.

I came here with a work group of nine people. We were early enough that we had the place to ourselves. Regardless, a nine top is hard to manage. I ordered a Spanish Mule which was a Moscow Mule with tequila rather than vodka. It was perfectly balanced. We had a plethora of appetizers around the table to include escargot, spinach and artichoke dip, triple dip, and more. All were fabulous. I ordered the small portion of the Elk Chop, medium rare which came with a salad, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Everything was perfect! I couldn't even finish the small. Then all our meals came with a dessert spoon - tres leches which was pretty acceptable this far north!

Menu has many fantastic options with lots of variety for all tastes. A good section of specials as well. Staff was attentive and friendly and worked a last minute reservation in. We got the roasted lamb chops and the portions were hearty. Highly recommend!

Duke's is the favorite date night spot of my wife and me. We love the food and often find ourselves drawn there for the specials they have going. The staff are always on top of things and willing to fix any issues that might arise during the meal. Last night the air conditioning was out when we went. The entertainment (which that night was a lovely pianist/singer) and staff were obviously struggling due to the discomfort of the temperature. I have to say that I found everyone's dedication to providing their customers a fine experience despite the heat admirable. The price point can be a little steep, but not really given the quality of food and service provided. If you're looking for a spot to spend a lovely evening out look no further. Even on their worst nights it's a top notch meal.

Dukes is a cool place with a nice atmosphere although entry to the restaurant is like sneaking in someone’s back door. It has formal decor with low lighting and a mix of nice accents and old building bones. We went for the brunch on Sunday so we weren’t sure what to expect. They had a fixed menu of about 6 dishes. Some of which they didn’t actually have. I had the steak and egg which came with fruit (mostly melons) and a biscuit. The bacon wrapped steak was done well and all tasted good. My wife had the chicken and waffles and they are the super sugary waffles that don’t go well with the dish. The waiter was new but tried hard. The old fashioned I ordered was super sugary as well. Overall nice but nothing to brag about. I may go back some time for dinner to see what their normal is. We were one of two tables Sunday at 12:30.

The restaurant was nice and the staff was friendly. The food however was awful. My fillet was inedible. My friend felt the same way about her fillet. Both had a very strange flavor. My wife had fish and it was awful too. We had six entrees all together and they were all bad. When our server cleared the table almost every plate was still full. When I was a server I certainly would have asked why no one ate any of their food. I would never return to Dukes. I paid over $100 dollars for the worst steak I’ve ever had. Two of the people in our party actually got sick after dinner.

The food here is amazing and seasoned well. I highly recommend trying out the Filet & Shrimp Toscana it was delicious. The chicken trio was great as well. The service was excellent, our waitress was wonderful!!

Carrabbas has been my favorite for 20 years. However, the Weezie sauce isn't the same. We ordered Med Well steak and got Well. Service was friendly but very slow. Still the best Italian available in our area. Food was still good, just not like the past.

Me and my daughter went tonight for the daddy daughter dinner they were having. It was my first time eating there. The sirloin was absolutely fantastic. Tyler our server was phenomenal. This Italian eatery blows the local olive garden out of the water.

We go here regularly. The staff is amazing. The food is always consistent whether it's a steak or a pasta dish. There are changing tables in both restrooms which is super helpful for parents.

My wife and I haven't had a date night since before June 5th due to me having a major spinal surgery in my neck! She and I went to Carrabba's for her first time ever. The whole experience was absolutely amazing!! From the time we walked in the door we were flooded with the amazing smells. We were greeted and sat right of way! Our server Naomi was amazing as soon as she approached our table. She asked if we had ever ate at Carrabba's and I informed her I had but my wife had never before. Naomi went through all the specials for everything from apps,to meals,as well as adult beverages.. We ordered and everything was timed out perfect and was absolutely cooked to protection. What an amazing dinner date experience we had after not having date night in some time!!! I tell everyone that says Olive Garden is great has never ate at Carrabba's!!!! I would recommend 100% of the time to go and enjoy what Carrabba's has to offer. You will never be disappointed and you will return again and again!!!

It was a 40 minute wait for dinner, so we chose to sit at the bar. The server was excellent! We started with a blackberry sang aria wine - delicious! I ordered the lasagna with house salad- oh yes! Tasty! I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the cheesecake wasn’t fresh. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Easily the best fine dine/casual Italian food anywhere. The consistency between locations is unmatched by any other franchise across the country. Every location is making the recipes perfectly and the service is always excellent. No core menu changes and we can still get our favorite foods even 20 years later. Often they have seasonal specials but they do not mess with the core menu thankfully!! The management and local teams running these restaurants are doing a remarkable job and we have an exceptional experience every single time. Thank you so much!! we look forward to seeing you for the next 20 years! Side note. Let corporate know they need to open a location in Fort Mill, SC 29707. It would thrive in this area

The restaurant boasts an extensive selection of wines from around the world, complementing the eclectic flavors on offer. With a charming ambiance and tastefully set tables, this dining experience is both elegant and relaxed. An eye-catching motorcycle greets guests at the entrance, adding a touch of coolness to the atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant visit for patrons.
We had a great evening at Cafe Rule to celebrate a birthday. We booked the chefs table. It is located in a separate room from the dining room. Our waiter Landon was excellent. The queens feast we delicious. My only complaint is two people in our group ordered the meatball appetizer. They received cold meatballs. The mozzarella cheese wasn't even melted on them.

First and foremost our waitress was very hospitable! We loved Paige! Made sure to check in regularly. Wonderful waitress. This was our first time here, a friday night. - Atmosphere: no music or anything, not terrible but not really an ambience different than Olive Garden, honestly a little less😬 - made a reservation and had to wait 15 min after to be seated - we did send my pasta back due to chicken being under cooked and pasta was dry and room tempt. But the next dish was a lot better! - not a lot of flavor but it’s ok. - my husbands pizza was burnt on the edges but falling off on the center? (I’m thinking it was just reheated.. and a bit too much, but who knows..) - sent utensil back that was used for dishing the pizza, it was most definitely just wiped off and brought back, we could still see the streaks. * side note: 2 other tables near us walked out due to not getting anything. “ the building is giving fancy, everything else is giving mediocre” - my husband. First and last time coming here. Unfortunately, definitely not worth the amount we paid.

Wow! Another incredible experience at this amazing restaurant! They went above and beyond to create a beautiful birthday celebration for our group, with a table setting that felt so special and thoughtful. The service was absolutely outstanding—Sophia and Courtney, along with one of the managers on duty, treated us like royalty. True superstars! I was blown away by the level of hospitality and can’t wait to return for more: fresh, delicious pasta, wonderful wine, decadent desserts, and that perfectly relaxed atmosphere. This has officially become our favorite place in town!

Love love love this restaurant! You have to try their pasta menu. You won’t be let down at all. The atmosphere was amazing and calming. On top of that, our waitress did a splendid job on assisting and checking on us in a timely manner. Couldn’t have asked for a better one! We will be back!

We had our wedding reception at Rule Italian Prime and Pasta on Saturday, May 3rd. The whole experience working with Kaylana from beginning to end was so wonderful! In the planning process, she was so accommodating and helpful. She answered all of our questions, thought of details we didn't, and really reassured us that we had made a good choice to host our reception there. Our wedding reception was beautiful and the service was amazing! I need to highlight our servers Alejandro, Samantha, and Landon. They were SO kind and attentive, and did an amazing job working our event. They were so competent, provided excellent customer service, and were so adaptable (shoutout for squeegee-ing the rain off dance floor)! The food was delicious and it truly was a perfect night. The atmosphere was romantic and personal. Whether you're wanting a delicious meal for a date night out or looking to host an event, Rule is the place to go! I can't thank their staff enough for all they did to make my wedding such an amazing day!

We went for our anniversary. We got the and the was a card on the table from the staff where everyone wished us a happy anniversary. That was so thoughtful! The place is gorgeous. Staff are amazing. But the food was just OK for the most part. The appetizers were delicious but the entries left a lot to be desired. I ordered the shrimp scampi and when our lovely waitress brought it out the shrimp were way overcooked and inedible. I am not the one who sends food back so I did inform our waitress. She asked me if I wanted it remade and I told her I'm not comfortable with that but please inform your staff so it doesn't happen to the next guest. She came back 5 minutes layer with fresh shrimp that were cooked much better. She really didn't have to do that but it was very sweet of her. Samantha made the poor food experience better with her amazing service.

What a wonderful place for my daughters birthday celebration! The atmosphere was quiet and calming, we were seated outside. Not very busy for a Wednesday night, but it was perfect. Kaylanna and her staff outdid themselves to set up for my daughter's birthday and made it very special for us. Robin was the absolute best , and the food was delicious! Thanks for making it as special night for us, we will be back!

Service was poor. Waiter never filled our drinks and barely checked on us. We got the Shrimp scampi which was nothing short of just okay. Olive Garden would have been just as good… The ribeye was also nothing special. Asked for it to be cooked medium rare and it was certainly over cooked. Was really hoping this might be our next regular date night spot but was completely let down:/

Charolais Steakhouse, a beloved establishment in Hickory since 1969, offers a unique dining experience where your choice of steak is hand-cut at your table and then cooked to perfection in the open kitchen. The newly added wine cellar boasts an impressive collection of rare and vintage wines. Guests rave about the exceptional service and delicious food, including perfectly cooked steaks, delightful appetizers like escargot and seafood melt, as well as a phenomenal salad bar with 42 toppings.
This is a, cozy, dim, relaxing place. I really enjoyed the remodel/renovation of the interior. Modern and simple. Very enjoyable and comfortable seating. Diego took excellent care of us. He was very responsive and respectful. Went above and beyond to see us through a great time. Food was delicious. Best salad bar I’ve ever had. Really enjoyed the simple, easy to read menu. Ribeye was to die for. 10/10 will definitely be going back.

Excellent steak house, especially considering the location and price point. They cut the steaks right in front of you. The service is friendly and prompt. The steaks and sides were all tasty and the drinks were good.

What an amazing experience this restaurant is. The outdoor look is very old fashioned, very nice, and inside is so vintage, lovely. Every single employee was courteous and knowledgeable of their menu. The wine was perfectly tempered and so it was very pleasing to drink. The steaks were cooked to the right temperature and the dessert was to die for. Great restaurant all around.
Gustavo C — Google review
I had an exceptional dining experience at this restaurant. The ribeye steak was perfectly seared with a rich, beefy flavor and a tender, juicy interior. The wagyu filet was equally impressive—melt-in-your-mouth texture and beautifully balanced seasoning that allowed the natural beef notes to shine. The salad bar exceeded our expectations with a fresh, vibrant selection and thoughtful toppings. It paired surprisingly well with the main courses, offering a lighter contrast that complemented the heaviness of the steaks. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable about the aging process of the meat, offered great wine pairings, and checked in at just the right times. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a date night or a special occasion. My wife and I left thoroughly satisfied and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend for steak lovers and anyone looking for a standout salad bar and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Always a great experience here. Steaks are carted to your table and cut by their head chef right in front of you. They have a great 2 for $50 deal on Mondays. Their salad bar is out of this world, 10/10 highly recommend the French Onion soup.... its absolutely amazing!

The food and service is amazing...... BUT I THINK YOU SHOULD BEORE STRICT IN THE DRESS CODE. HOW CONE WE ARE GOING TO BE PAYING $ 50; DOLLAR FOR A STEAK WHEN THERE IS PEOPLE IN CAMOUFLAGE, SHORTS AND CAPS. I FEEL LIKE THEY CAN GO YO LONGHORN AND GET A STEAK. YOUR RESTAURANT NEEDS TO BE MORE CAREFUL ABOUT DRESS CODE. We have been here 3 times and there is always people way of dress. This is not a whatever restaurant, I think it's a good steak house so don't be afraid and treat it like it is. We don't want to see underdressed people when you are very well dressed and paying top dollar for your meal. Start being a little more selective. That won't hurt your business, it will improve the clientele to better and more educated people. Just saying. The others that don't have proper dress code can go to any franchise to eat.

When I tell you, this is the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been in; in my life. The floor was caked in dirt, grime, I had to move away from the window because I saw ants and they were trailing onto the wooden chair I was sitting on. The salt was wet inside the shaker, the windows were oily and smudged. After a while me and my fiance got so uncomfortable we considered just leaving altogether. The food was fine for what it was, the fries were served cold, so I am not sure how long they had been prepared for. I ended up not finishing my food because it was giving me the ick so bad, I was scared of getting food poisoning when I don't have a lot of sick days at my job to take a risk like that. Overall avoid.

I've eaten here for years and it's my favorite breakfast spot. Today my guy ate with me, first time and he was really impressed! He absolutely loved his breakfast omelet burrito in sausage gravy. I opted for the build your own omelet w avocado instead of toast. Eric in the kitchen did a phenomenal job. Elijah was our server and he was so polite and helpful.

First time coming and it was okay, maybe we didn’t know what was good to order for breakfast here… I was invited out to this place but probably wouldn’t come on my own. Service was pretty slow plus we needed one of our orders fixed cause we asked for no tomato and the hash brown casserole had an overwhelming amount of onion, it ended up taking 30+ mins to get that order back. Not to mention a small hair that was under the side of my pancake which I couldn’t take a picture of because my boyfriend didn’t want to mention anything to anyone and just avoid the area the hair was in 😅 The bacon also had an odd brownish color to it which threw me off, the only thing you can’t go wrong with is a pancake 👍

Little family owned restaurant that is always a pleasure to be at. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and it’s a great little local spot. We were there on Mother’s Day and they were swamped. As a fellow restaurant owner we understand how difficult it can be to take care of customers on busy days let alone holidays. The two ladies running the front of house did a fantastic job! They communicated to everyone about the wait and to be patient but that they would take care of everyone. The kitchen staff busted their behinds to get food out as fast as possible. All in all they did a heck of a job. I’m happy to support this local spot!
David G — Google review
I am ServSafe certified and have worked with food for almost 8 years. This was the most blatanly disgusting dining room Ive ever seen. The photos are just a small sample. There were ants crawling across the floor. Its the deep cleaning thats missing, you have to do more than just wiping tables and leaving them sticky. Im scared of what it looked like behind the counter. I can handle a messy room after a lunch rush but this is build-up not just a messy room. Service was almost non-existent.
Alex O — Google review
Just had breakfast "special" here. I understand prices are high, and I'm willing to pay... BUT... you have no table service. You order at counter. They were out of coffee and had to change the pot before we got ours. It looks us 28 minutes to get our food. It was not hot. I got 2 slices of bacon. My husband got 3 on the exact same order. We got biscuits that had zero taste and had to go back up and ask for jam. I am posting a photo which may look delicious...trust me, it wasn't. Over 30.00 and I left a lot of it on my plate. 2 trips in one, first and last. Not one person asked if our food was okay.
Dawn S — Google review
Today was my first time here and I have to say it was not a let down. The service was very good. The ladies up front were very helpful. The menu is exciting and has specials. My wife has been a patron here for 20 years. She loves it. When we got our food it was delicious! It’s very nice inside too. Local art covers the walls and it can be purchase. Support the locals!! They have outdoor seating as well. I am very eager to have breakfast here too. I would have posted a 5 star review if it was a little cleaner. There was some tables dirty from previous patrons and I didn’t notice the ladies making it a priority to get them clean for other customers. Not a big deal tho. I review a lot of places and a few dirty tables don’t deter me. It kinda reflects on management. When we left, they were still dirty. I honestly highly recommend this place. I can wait to go back. Coffee is amazing too!!

Crescent Moon Cafe is a trendy, dimly lit pub that boasts a selection of over 25 rotating draft microbrews. The menu features gourmet flatbreads, sandwiches, hot dogs, and tacos with options for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free diets. The eclectic decor adds to the cool ambiance with a vague space theme. Visitors praise the abundant vegan options and reasonable prices. While some experienced delays in service, others found the staff friendly and the food excellent.
I am thoroughly impressed, and that almost never happens to me when it comes to food. I ordered the Creole bean burger before going to work today. As a vegan, it's sometimes difficult to find food and food that's actually tasty without all of the highly processed ingredients... in my opinion. I ordered it without tomato, sauce, and cheese. It was so good I immediately ordered another before I finished the first one. The burger was yum, not too salty, either. Huge bonus! I will absolutely be back soon for another.

Udderly Delicious Ice Cream is a popular ice cream shop that offers a unique experience. Not only do they make their own ice cream, but they also have a variety of entertainment options, such as pinball machines and an indoor mini-golf course. It's the perfect destination for families looking for some fun. The ice cream itself is fresh and locally made, with flavors like 'Butter Pecan' and 'Moo-Moo Chocolate.'
Loved it! The ice cream was delicious, the golf fun, and Brianna was so friendly, she made it even more enjoyable! Thank you!
Mandy — Google review
This was our first time trying this place and overall we'd go back again. After sampling a few flavors my settled on the coffee flavor in a waffle cone and I picked the snow cream in a cup. Her ice cream was really good especially if you like fairly strong coffee flavors! It was basically black coffee with a splash of milk and frozen. Not overly sweet, not overly strong, just about right! Definitely will get it again! Only complaint is the waffle cone was semi stale and chewy. The snow cream was good as well, but personally I like a lot of vanilla so I think it could've used more, but I'd still get it again since it was good and close to perfect. The young lady over charged us a little, but not by much and they were really busy so I didn't bother correcting her. Overall I'm glad we all went and we'll definitely be back for another trip!!

My husband, grandson and myself enjoyed the indoor mini golf and then Ice Cream. It is reasonably priced. I did feel sorry for the only girl who was working, scooping ice cream, making shakes and taking care of mini golf AND the cash register. Remarkably she kept her cool !

Friendly service, fun stuff inside... Pinball games and mini golf. The ice cream was excellent. I loved the Hoof Prints. Bathrooms not overly clean though.

Mrs. wanted ice cream and I won't stop her. She had picked this spot and after I checked the Yelp reviews, I was ready to go as well. Much more than an ice cream shop, this place makes it themselves which makes it fresh and local. On top of that, it's a destination with a handful of pinball machines and an indoor mini-golf course! Much fun to be had. A scoop of "Butter Pecan" for me and a scoop of "Moo-Moo Chocolate" for Mrs, we were all set. The "kid's size" is actually plenty unless you're a glutton. Just the little bit of sweet we needed as dessert without getting stuffed.
Bruce K — Google review
I brought my girlfriend in here after she had a really bad day thinking it would be a nice little treat ( also our first time here). The girls inside were not very friendly, the ice cream was freezer burnt and the ice cream had little to no flavor and was very milky in flavor (think melted and refrozen Walmart ice cream). After we paid the $11 dollars for two tiny little cups, we chose to sit in a quiet corner and eat, only for one of the employees to loudly complain about us sitting inside to her coworkers because she wanted to clean over where we were and didn’t want to wait for us to leave. Now both of us feel sick to our stomachs and are wishing we had just went to Wendy’s for a frosty, as it would have been cheaper and a better experience. Definitely not worth the time or the money.

Love these little family owned and operated Mexican restaurants. I personally love the quesadillas, particularly the carnitas and also the shrimp quesadillas. My wife always gets the quesadilla carnitas. Daughter got the chipotle chicken tacos which she very much enjoyed. They also have some Mexican brews that you won't find anywhere else except specialty beer suppliers. The chips are homemade and the salsa and guacamole are muey bueno as well. Can't wait to go back again, I'm getting hungry! The parking lot is tiny so if your driving a huge mega size vehicle you won't fit.

We stopped in Hickory for a quick dinner and this place hit the spot! There is also a storefront inside the restaurant which was a nice touch. The food was delicious and the service was great! Our food came out in about 10-15 minutes which was not long at all. The green sauce on the enchiladas was slightly spicy but nothing too crazy. I highly recommend coming here!

Best Mexican food in town! We've gotten take out from Isabella's several times but this was our first time eating in. The dining area is definitely eclectic but our group was more than comfortable - especially once the food arrived. The only thing I didn’t like is you had to scan a QR code and I am so over QR codes I really would like to sit down with an actual menu and read it and take my time deciding so it did feel a little rushed to order because other people were coming in.

I’m from Charlotte NC and found this gem on an unexpected trip to Hickory. First you walk inside a super cool store with a bunch of handmade unique authentic items and then you walk through a beautifully decorated restaurant with lots of plants. When you get your order, it will be absolutely delicious and super fresh. I got the fish tacos, and the tortillas were amazing, the fish was cooked perfectly, and it was the best chipotle sauce I’ve ever had !! If you get the chance, you should definitely check it out!

One of the best places in Hickory NC!! The food is amazing!! And the prices are very reasonable. Great Atmosphere and the Bartender Amy Tesh is so friendly and makes the best Margaritas in town!! Seriously Mas Amor definitely gives all their customers much love!! Just like the restaurants name says!!

Absolutely incredible and fresh. Decor is inviting and stylish. The dill pickle margarita was really good. Chips and salsa perfect. Dishes have fresh ingredients. Highly recommend!

The food and margaritas were just delicious and hit the spot. The service was absolutely top notch. We just found a lovely spot to dine in.

Overall, a great experience. We got the Spicy Strawberry Margarita and Mojito Margarita, which were very delicious. The chicken wing appetizer, street corn side, and churros were all excellent. The mains were a bit hit or miss, but they definitely make up for it with great apps and sides.

Wow! We had such a great experience at Mas Amor. Came in on a Friday night (it was busy so make a reservation) and took a seat at the bar. Our bartender, Jackie, was so accommodating and friendly! The food was delicious. They bring out chips and salsa to start. The chips are thin and fresh. We also ordered some guacamole to try with the chips. I ordered the chicken fajitas. Definitely a big portion and shareable. I also got a strawberry margarita that was amazing. Overall 10/10 experience and worth the money!

We brought an out of town guest with us on a Tuesday evening. We wanted to try the all you can eat taco bar that we'd seen advertised. It was a pretty slow night, which is not what you want for a buffet type meal. I think things would be better on a busier night. That said, I had three delicious tacos, tasty charro beans, chips, salsa & guac. Plus, I definitely recommend Mama's Horchata - Yum! And you can't beat the ambiance. Love the vibe!

Mas Amor is one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in a long time and probably the best Mexican food ever. I got the veg fajita and what an amazing taste it had. The chips and dips where very fresh and having three options of sauces were great. The staff were all very friendly and our waitress Mia did an outstanding job of making sure we didn't run out of anything. The cocktails were spot on and tasted wonderful. If you are in Hickory NC this is a must place to visit.

We decided to try Mas Amore Cantina because we saw NC Foodies YouTube video on it. We went on a Thursday for lunch, after doing some shopping. Upon entering I noticed there were only three people working the restaurant, two guys doing the cooking and a young lady serving the whole restaurant. They also had a bar with no one behind it but I took note of a bottle of Buffalo Trace Bourbon as it’s one of my favorites. There were 5 tables seated including us so she was doing the best she could. I ordered the Brisket Grilled Cheese and my fiancé ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, I also ordered a double of Buffalo Trace Bourbon neat. After getting our food we started eating, I noticed my Brisket Grilled Cheese looked more like a Crunchwrap from Taco Bell but took a few bites thinking it was their take on the classic Grilled Cheese. The waitress rushed over and told me that it was the Birria Crunchwrap and was intended for another table. She took the food from me without asking if I wanted to keep it, I would’ve, and assured me that my order was about to come out. I asked about my drink and she informed me that she didn’t put the order in because she didn’t know what that was and didn’t see it on her screen. I told her it was a bourbon at the bar and she had me walk over to the bar and point it out to her. I walked back over to my table and started to eat my food. I was almost done with my food and had about given up on the drink because I figured she was just to busy to pour it. When she came back to the table she told me that the Buffalo Trace is not in her system and her manager had told her they don’t have any. I was caught off guard a bit and trying not to sound rude said “I know you have it I showed it to you at the bar and it’s clearly had drinks poured from it.” She said she was sorry and not sure what to do. I told her to forget about the drink it’s not her fault and to just bring a box for our food. It was just an odd exchange and I didn’t want to push the issue by bringing a manager over and possibly embarrassing the waitress, like I said before, she was doing her best being the only one. OVERALL, the food was good, service was bad but that wasn’t the waitress’s fault, and management seems clueless to what’s in there restaurant. I’m hesitant to try the place again, but kinda want to give it another chance when they have more staff. So far I can’t recommend this restaurant to my friends or anyone that has made it this far into my review, purely based on the service alone. Maybe today was an off day, hopefully it will be better if we ever decide to give it a second chance.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We tried this place for the first time last night and absolutely loved it! The Bang Bang Shrimp and Mongolian Beef were both delicious, and the cozy atmosphere made it even better. We really enjoyed the whole experience and can’t wait to come back to try the rolls at the bar next time! 😁

This is a nice restaurant. It's open concept design, comfortable tables. We went for lunch. The food was great. They only do steamed dumplings at lunch (not pan fried), but they were still very good. We also tried the steamed buns, which I hadn't eaten before. The bun was different than I expected, but still tasty. The meat was delicious, as was the hoosen sauce. One of us had their 2 roll comb, and really enjoyed it. Another had a poke bowl, which they had eaten before, and felt it was fantastic. I had a Mongolian Beef Bento Box, with Tempura shrimp roll and added a spring roll. Really enjoyed my meal, but didn't eat the Thai Cucumber salad, as I saw it had jalapeños and I knew that wouldn't sit well for me. Overall, we really enjoyed our food. Our service was only ok. It took quite a while for refills, the food took quite a while to make it to our table. And it was a wait for our check. We didn't feel.it was busy, and realize good food takes time, but saw similar sized tables who came after us receive food before us. Not a huge deal, but noticeable. Overall, I would dine again.

Cool vibe at this place which is actually two places. Two restaurants in one which is a cool idea. We got the Asian food but you could get brunch food as well from the "chicken" restaurant (forgot the name). I got the Bento box and my kids shared the sushi. Everything tasted good but smaller portions for priced paid causes me to give a 4 stars. Also we got over charged for an item which isn't kosher for anyone. All in it was $45 before tip for a 2 roll sushi plate, bento box and dumplings appetizer. Staff were friendly as well.

My friend and I got sushi, a salad, and the szechuan chicken. I expected it to be good, but it was way better than expected. My sushi was some of the best I've ever had, and I've eaten more than my fair share. Fresh, bite sized, high quality. The salad was also fresh and tossed in the dressing very well and was delicious. Service was fast and our waitress was very sweet. We will definitely be coming back when in the area!

After a long day at work I just just wanted to kick back and relax and enjoy the atmosphere and something light to eat. And that's exactly what I got when I walked into Cowa-Sake. I'm really impressed with thier professional, warm and very friendly service from the first person who welcomes you at the door. I sat at the sushi bar today for some delicious flavorful roll and chef JB and Conner didn't disappoint me at all. The staff are awesome!!!!!

Came threw to buy a motorcycle and seen this place for sushi. Love the out door and indoor seating. Even if going threw for a day or off the freeway, I would stop in for this again. Had wagyu on my sushi and it was amazing. My Husband is more vegetarian and he loved the kimchi French fries. I had the bento box and loved I go to choose couple things I have not had before. 1 being wagyu and the other is Bacon blue cheese coleslaw. I could eat that everyday. Amazing

We have been coming here for years and it's always been a great little spot. Portions and selection have never been that big, but the prices and taste have always been reasonable for what you received. It's been a few months since we've been and today we were sorely disappointed. We were greeted warmly and sat quickly so that hasn't changed. However, we waited for almost 10 minutes before our server acknowledged us and brought us water. Waited another 10 minutes before he came back for our order. We ordered an appetizer and waited another 12 minutes before he came to take our meal order. His version of checking in was everything good over his shoulder as he was walking by without actually slowing down to hear the answer. On to the food. As it seems to happen with most everything, the prices have increased with the popularity while the quality has decreased. The portions are smaller but cost more, I understand "inflation" and everything is more expensive. But, if you raise the prices to counter, it means you should be able to keep the portions the same size. Also, I'm not sure how, but some of our dishes had no flavor, despite looking like it would. The fried rice and a sushi roll with tuna being the biggest culprits.
Samana M — Google review
I love sushi, so that’s what I went for. The rise of the sushi was so Hard that I can only eat a couple of pieces. The only reason I give two stars on the food is because the chicken from the bento plate was great

Stopped in with a friend to get some food and it was even better than expected! Super cute atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was delicious! We went on a Sunday after lunch. I got the pineapple teriyaki burger, which was good, but didn't have teriyaki sauce and I had to go ask for it. They give you a buzzer that goes off when your food is ready. You go pick it up, make your own drinks, etc. We also had the loaded fries, but it had little cheese and it wasn't melted. They definitely weren't worth the $8. My 10yr old wanted plain ramen, they didn't offer kids sizes, and they still charged us $12 for plain noodles. The food was mediocre, overpriced and we probably won't go back. After you eat you have to clean up your table and put your dishes in the proper place as well.

We stopped by for dinner from our trip and we were huge group so we had to all scatter in different tables. The food were prepared pretty quick didn’t have to wait long to pick our food. Toilets are clean and has diaper changing station. Plenty of parking space. Food was good but ramen was most loved by everyone. I enjoyed my Banh mi sandwich. Kids enjoyed Teriyaki chicken bowl. Over all good experience.

The wait staff were super nice! The ramen is ok. I really wish they would offer to add garlic or get side of it. The noodles were a little over cooked. But the rest of it was great! Their boba drinks were good too.

Hello, I can honestly say that I have had interaction with this start-up from the bus to ordering at home. I would like to say how pleased I am as to have found this somewhat hidden gem. I like a light roast coffee and I really like the Ethiopian. The flavor note's , Blueberry, Vanilla and Hibiscus are spot on. The personal respect for each order speaks volumes in our fast paced daily lives, and the easy order by month ensures that you have a fresh cup each and every day. My daughter and son in law introduced me to this bus that they frequent and I am truly grateful. The Bus experience along with the rest of their story grants it as a Must Have when you visit Hickory. Just the 1 lb. vs. 10-12 oz. alone is a no brainer. Everything else is just a bonus. Keeping the beans fresh is a breeze with a couple tupperware containers as suggested in the pics. This should be rated as a favorite and I encourage you to visit "The Bus".....

I’m pretty picky when it comes to my coffee- this was soooo good and the bus itself is a great atmosphere compared to the average coffee shop. I had a Dirty Chai and I am going to dream about that thing- I wish I lived closer! A must try and I almost forgot that the prices are AMAZING!

Such a unique idea to have a coffee shop in a restored bus like this - I've never seen that before! The man working was very kind and he made me a matcha latte even though it's not necessarily an option. It was very delicious, too. I will say, it felt a bit crammed walking onto the bus just because there were a lot of men sitting and chatting, but it was very homey inside and everyone was sweet so it wasn't a problem. I would have loved to sit down a while if there'd have been the room! We would come back next time we're in the area :)

We had a great visit here - knowledgeable service, comfortable seating and interesting decor to go a long with the wonderful cafe. The spicy mocha selection was not too sweet and just the right amount of heat. Samples were offered for both and hot and cold variety. Closes early so not an option for evening adventures. Also a good source for roasted beans. The roaster is responsive and provides pick-up options as well as subscription based discounts.

If you're on the hunt for a culinary gem in Hickory, NC, look no further than Plant-Based Boss! This delightful eatery has taken plant-based dining to new heights with its incredible flavors and textures that even meat lovers rave about. One enthusiastic carnivore couldn't believe how authentic the taste was—he'd have sworn it was real meat! The menu is packed with mouthwatering options like steak and chorizo tacos that will leave you utterly amazed.
It was such a pleasant surprise to find a fully vegan restaurant in Hickory as I was passing through! The owners of the restaurant are incredibly nice and hospitable. It’s a couple and I believe the husband is the executive chef; the food is really flavorful and nutritious. I got the Olmec bowl with chorizo and there was some kind of sauce on it that was super unique - I’ve never tasted anything like it before, and it was so complementary to the dish. I look forward to returning and trying more dishes and the smoothies! The interior was very cute, but my understanding is that they are moving to an even better one that will have parking, attached restrooms, the ability to serve wine, etc. I hope this restaurant continues to see great success, it’s clear that the owners are really passionate about what they do and I love to see that!

This is an amazing gem. Hickory doesn’t have many vegan restaurants but, I’ve been to several around the area and this is the best by far. My husband and I both got the pesto chicken and it was delicious Mac salad was phenomenal everything was so delicious and tasteful. Staff were so helpful and very friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a vegan lifestyle change

He tried the Olemac bowl. He loves spicy. He said it was perfectly made and wish we lived closer or they would open closer to us. Best Cole slaw I've had it a long time.

I tried the new plant based burger for the first time and it was DELICIOUS!!! 5 stars all around and their new location is prime with parking in downtown Hickory. I highly recommend for a good filling lunch that doesn’t leave you feeling bloated and fatigued. Great atmosphere and energy as well! Here’s a pic of me over halfway through my burger lol. The Hawaiian bbq wrap is another favorite of mine!

The Boss never disappoints! This was my first time trying the new BBQ option and it’s a solid 10/10! The flavor, texture, and even the smell are all perfectly BBQ-inspired. Definitely a new favor and I hear a new permanent option!

This is hands down the BEST place to eat in Catawba County. AND the ONLY ALL VEGAN Joint available! I've had probably about half the items on the menu over my visits there and have never once been disappointed, only WOWED. A lot of the 'vegan meats' are made in house which is impressive. All my downtown hickory Carnivores enjoy eating here! There's a refrigerator full of healthy beverage options, and usually there's fresh baked sweet treats for purchase as well. The atmosphere is spectacular with the decor, the lighting, just the whole ambiance. And they now have their own parking lot! You can't lose for winning with Plant Based Boss. Next up: I can't wait for some vegan Schnitzel dog for Oktoberfest!

IMMACULATE! im·mac·u·late /iˈmakyələt/ *free from flaws or mistakes; perfect. This word perfectly sums up my visit to Plant Based Boss! As a tourist visiting Hickory, this place definitely made me feel at home. They had a 100% cleanliness score, the vibe was cozy and welcoming, and the guidance provided to me, by the kind and gracious owners, as a new vegan eater was heart warming. And...their Barbeque sandwich and macaroni salad can definitely be at the family cookout! Amen? Amen! 1000/10 experience! Will definitely return!

Australian restaurant
Outback Steakhouse is a lively Australian-themed restaurant that specializes in serving hearty steakhouse cuisine, including steaks, seafood, and other delicious fare. One customer enjoyed a tasty 6 oz sirloin cooked to medium well perfection, accompanied by grilled shrimps, mixed vegetables, and a sweet potato. However, they suggested that the shrimps be served separately from the bread to prevent it from becoming soggy.
Outback Steakhouse is always one of my favorites... Stopped by outback on a Thursday around 6:30pm and did not have to wait to be seated. As it approached 7pm that night, the restaurant definitely was lighter in diners. Unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed. As it seems like most restaurants nowadays, a skilled kitchen staff is hard to find and servers are overworked. It took 5-10mins for our server to get our drinks and order. After taking our order, it took another 40mins to get our food. You would expect that after waiting for nearly 1hr for your food that it would be cooked to request. I asked for medium rare and my steak came out medium to medium done. I was very disappointed to be waiting all that time just for an overcooked steak. The table behind me was also frustrated because they waited +1hr for their food and their steak was also overcooked. The only positive to this place is that management & servers listen to your concerns and will try to make it right. The manager personally cooked a steak for the table behind me and the server was able to get me another steak that was cooked to my request to-go free of charge. But it took another 20mins of waiting for that re-cooked steak. Of course anyone loves free food, but I would have rather them get my order right the 1st time instead of going through the trouble I went through. Service was ok. No complaints regarding service because I knew they were understaffed that night. But I was definitely not impressed with my experience that night. Pro-tip: go ahead and order all your drinks/appetizers/entrées when you see the server because it will take a while to get your food If you wait to order your entrées, the longer you will wait to get your food.

I wish I could give more stars for service. My ol lady called an order in, and mid-order for disconnected. They called several times to get to finish the order. So we just go there to make the order since it's 2 blocks from where we were. When we get there, the waitress in takeout, informed my GF that they got half the order, but missed the second half. But WENT AHEAD AND STARTED THE FIRST HALF WITH THE KITCHEN. Next, she's takes the trash off the order and sends it to the kitchen. So when my GF comes to the car, the waitress follows a min or two later. She's informs her that she had the test of the foods on it's way, and proceeded to apologize, and gave her a large drink, while she waited. Finally, the food is done and she brings us the bag of food, and let us know all the sauce is in a bag inside the bag, except for one ranch that's in with the salad, and the honey mustard that is in with the plate of chicken tenders. She's was super nice and asked if there was anything else we needed, and told us she was sorry and to have a great rest of our evening. All this knowing that there was no tip in with the debit card purchase. So we felt like we needed to go get change for the big bill that we had and bring her a tip back. And made sure to let her know that she's probably the best waitress we have ever had. I can't remember her name, but if you happen to get her as your waitress, you'll know who I'm talking about, and understand the kind of serviceI'm doing a terrible job of trying to explain.

The food was terrible. Service was mediocre! This place used to be delicious. Idk what has happened but the Queensland Chicken and shrimp pasta was nowhere close to how it used to taste. The noodles were tasteless. I had to have Alfredo sauce added to it just to get to taste decent. The only thing that tasted good was the appetizer cheese fries . I used to love this place. But I was not happy with this experience.

Our experience with Outback restaurants has been hit or miss. This was a hit! We went for the steak and lobster promo, and it was exactly what we were looking for. If you're looking for a huge portion of 🦞 you, you'll be disappointed because it is just a canner sized tail. However, this is what we expected, and it was flavourful and cooked perfectly. The price was right, too. The bread was fresh out of the oven. Delicious! The potato soup was seasoned and came out hot. My steak was cooked as I ordered it, and the service was solid. An extra bonus point for the manager mingling with the patrons and checking on our food and service. The parking was ample. We got a booth, and there was minimal to no wait.

Had a great dinner here with my husband tonight. The food was great, the service was great, we sat at the bar and ordered some apps - the new boomerang cheese sticks were 10/10 and my husband hand the wings and said they were great. While we were waiting on the rest of our food, a patron at the bar started getting upset because his entree hadn’t arrived, and began to curse at the bar tender. She went and got the manager and he handled the situation with poise. He was professional, even when getting yelled at, and I appreciated him deescalating the situation. Overall, 5/5, we will be back.

This vibrant steakhouse serves American cuisine with a Southwestern twist, all amidst Texas-themed decorations. Despite the bustling atmosphere, there was a short wait at 3:30 pm, just half an hour after their opening time of 3:00 pm. The food itself was excellent, and the waitress provided exceptional service with a friendly demeanor. However, some individuals may not appreciate the seasoning used on the steaks, as it is different from what they had experienced at other Texas Roadhouse locations.
Maleah was our waitress and we loved her. She was hustling around the whole time we were there, and took care of her customers well. She checked in frequently and was so sweet. Please take great care of Maleah!!

Never thought that it would be so busy for lunch but it definitely was. Ordered a 16oz sirloin, but the waitress only heard 6, so that's what I got. Was only charged for the 6oz, so that's fine. Fried pickles weren't breaded well or fried much, but the server had another order brought that was far better. Steak was cooked properly.

So first mistake was ordering to go maybe, I ordered my steak medium well which means slight pink in the middle. This steak has no pink, it also had no flavor and parts of it were burnt and dry. My son has the burger kids meal and both of his burgers were burnt as well. Just because an order is to go doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care how the food is cooked.

I hate to do it but we have always loved this place … apparently it was a bad day or a bad cook we got there just after the opened not full but steady ..I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries medium little pink .. what I got look like it fell on the floor and they picked it back up but burnt on the ends .. when she asked me how it looked I took the top off and said what do you think how can you send something out that looks that bad ..she said we can send it back well I’m not doing that cause I know what happens when you piss the cook off .. so I ate my fries and tried to eat the burger I think I ate less than half .. nobody offered to at least take some off the bill or anything.. first of all it should have never been brought out that way.. nobody cares anymore .. at the end I told the waitress I would pay for the fries and the drink but not the burger.. so it was taken off the bill ..well now after looking at all your other reviews I can see you really don’t care about your customers coming back… what happened to you guys I believe you need to find some better cooks .. all the pictures of your food posted on reviews looks horrible..🤮🤮it’s ok we can find another restaurant eventually you guys will be out of business..

I must say, texas Roadhouse for 20 plus years was always a favorite place to eat for the past year or longer, especially the last year it has been just not consistent anymore, especially the hickory location. I ordered pork chops today something I have ordered many many times today I got raw pork chops and was told when I asked for pork to be cooked properly that they cook all pork medium which is going to get someone sick I know that is not normal practices considering I always ordered pork chops and never been asked how I would like my pork cooked because unless you ask for pork raw it should be cooked well done or at least done salmonella is real and will get someone very sick if you decide to cook all pork like this as you see and as they told me basically i was wrong that I wanted it cooked properly that it was cooked properly look at photos would you eat this? Not to mention, i got my salads 5 minutes after my food came out. Do better! Lost my business long horn is wat better.

Our waitress was not the best but I can say she was better than the last Let’s just start with the tea-warm and not that sweet. Seems to be a hard thing for these big corps to get their tea right Might I suggest you use 1 plastic pitcher of sugar to one urn of tea ok…just to simplify it for you The rolls-the were hot and white-no color to them at all-offer your table regular butter with the rolls not just the cinnamon spread. I had to wait ten minutes for the waitress to bring it back to our table The blooming onion was undercooked as well-the batter was off as well You couldn’t pick a petal without it crumbling off and your stuck with a slick almost raw onion to dip into their dry m, chalky tasting dip-had to order their ranch to dip it in so yet another ten minute wait for our waitress to bring it back to the table By this time our teas are empty and moths are dry. So I ordered old faithful chopped steak aka roadkill the meat was good it’s just the onions-slimy for some reason and not thoroughly caramelized so one slid down my throat and I felt like a core chewing their cut trying to get it back up-not a lovely sight After that the onions were scraped off my protein and left on the plate with the undercooked not seasoned steak fries The bread thing about my meal was your Mac-n-cheese I was impressed and thigh out was good I couldn’t finish by this time my stomachs rolling with nausea

I was amazed at how bust they were at the time of day. There was a 15 minute wait at 3:30 pm. They open at 3:00. The food was really good. My waitress was super helpful and friendly. I will simply say this. Personally i do not like the seasoning they put on there steaks. I had only eaten at a Texas Road House once before and had forgotten this detail. I Personally will definitely return, just the next time I'll order my steak without the seasoning.

Tonight wasn't a good night for us. Family of 5 came to celebrate my son's birthday. His steak he ordered wasn't correct. Sent it back and they cooked another one. Manager brought the second steak out but it wasn't right either. He didn't eat it. The waitress offered to get another but my son refused.Manager said he took it off the bill. Wanted to have wait staff celebrate his birthday but never happened. Manager couldn't get away from our table fast enough. So one star given. The waitress was very nice and apologized. She was nicer than the manager.

Mellow Mushroom Hickory is a vibrant and eclectic pizzeria that stands out for its artistic decor and inviting atmosphere. Known for its creative stone-baked pizzas, this chain offers an impressive menu filled with both classic and inventive options, making it a go-to spot for pizza lovers. Diners rave about the delicious combinations, like meaty pizzas loaded with toppings such as bacon, sausage, ham, and pepperoni.
Our first time having food from here and it was so good! The crust was great and everything had great flavor! We got a cheese pizza and a half and half (great white + house). We did not dine in this time, we got take out but the restaurant looked very nice and clean!

Cool little spot to grab a bite with friends; maybe not so much if you expect to be waited on. Service is lackluster here, but they are polite. It’s a pizza joint at the end of the day. I wouldn’t recommend sitting near the patio door; both patrons and employees use it as a thoroughfare, and you’ll constantly be caught in a gust. The pizza was pizza. We tried a couple different variations. Nothing particularly remarkable, but nothing really to complain about either. If we visit again, I might be more inclined to grab something to-go.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Mellow Mushroom. My husband enjoyed his meaty pizza. It had mushrooms, onions, real bacon strips, a really tasty sausage, ham, and pepperoni. My husband said it was the best pizza he has ever had. He said even my homemade pizza was second to what he had there. I had the meatball trio and the spinach salad. The spinach salad was second to none. Everything on it was fresh and the apples and pecans were really fresh and crunchy. The spinach was crispy. The dressing they recommend was delicious, it made my taste buds do a happy dance. The feta cheese(sheep milk)had the signature softness and tanginess. Hower, i would order a second dressing cup for more coverage. The meatball trio was slathered and swimming in a great sauce that had fresh herbs throughout. The meatballs were stuffed with a tasty mozzarella cheese that had great stretch. It had slivers of real Parmesan cheese all over it. I also ordered the lavender lemonade x 2 and it was delicious. We have found our next new restaurant to eat. We highly recommend Mellow Mushroom to anyone. Our server was very attentive and she made sure we had everything we needed and asked for. They have so many offerings.

The food is great, but I've had to wait at least an hour - in many cases longer - every time I have eaten there. And it makes no difference whether they are busy or slow, whether it was a weekday or weekend, whatever. But what really got me is that when I went to place an order online, they insisted that the credit card number I was entering was incorrect. It wasn't. After half a dozen tries, I'm done. If this place would get their act together, it could be one of my favorite restaurants. But it is not worth the trouble.

Ok, let me start off my saying I am bias. I love mellow mushroom pizza! I have been to many of their locations and have always had a great time. I was happy to see their new "pizza rolls". The whole family enjoyed them. We got the pepperoni. My 6yo and I shared a Pacific rim and my fiance and 10yo shared the veggie. We were all super happy. I highly suggest. The dough is other worldly!

Olive Garden is a vibrant and family-friendly restaurant chain that offers a variety of Italian dishes, including pastas and salads. The service provided at Olive Garden is exceptional, with attentive waiters ensuring that bread baskets and glasses are always full. One customer enjoyed the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken but felt it needed a touch more salt and garlic. Portions are generous, as some groups even took leftovers home.
My family and I had a great time at Olive Garden as always. The staff are very friendly and always helpful. Kane, our waiter, was a pleasant young man who helped us in everyway possible. The food was amazing and I just love this restaurant. The restaurant is nice and clean as well as the restrooms. The wait wasn't too bad about 15 - 20 min which was expected. I'm excited to see one coming to Morganton. Can't wait till it opens because I am definitely gonna be there!

The food was okay. Just felt like my chicken Alfredo pasta was sitting for a period of time before getting it. (I also added steamed broccoli which shouldn't be hard and dried out) Overall, my pasta wasn't even warm when I got it. I usually have nothing bad to say about an Olive Garden but this one...needs work. My husband would eat anything and said his was great though. He got some sort of tortellini. The bread was warm. The salad was okay except for the tomatoes, they tasted old. The Italian donuts were thankfully hot when we finally got them before leaving. Overall, I would go further out of my way to go to the Spartanburg location next time rather than the Hickory location.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this olive garden location. My server would not acknowledge me, barely spoke to me, and completely ignored my table. I never received my food, and throughout my visit, I overheard some staff engaging in unprofessional and inappropriate conversation with the manager about a fellow employee who is gay and wear discussing about "not liking him and blaming him for getting complaints because you how gay men are they stir up trouble" and as a Christan women with a gay son that disturb me because i would not want someone talking about him when he grows up and goes to work. my husband went to the restroom and seen there hateful negative message written on the wall in the bathroom stall " the host is gay and i dont want to work with him" this upset my husband and me and was the final straw and we walked out. do better its 2025 not 1925.

Our server smelled like alcohol/weed. It’s so unfortunate he was sub par. We were the first ones there, and still took so long to get our drinks, salads and breadsticks. He didn’t know what my alcoholic drink and almost got it wrong - thank you for atleast sending the bartender to ensure accuracy. Got our children food incorrect, but still rectified the situation. He was just not attentive to refills, plate removal, and overall service. I would come back, just I’d just ask for anyone else. The sad part is, he didn’t even try to save his service/tip. He just gave up. I still tipped 25% because I know hostesses and others depend on it. This location does not honor military.

I love Olive Garden but my recent visit was extremely disappointing. One of my friends was celebrating her birthday, so I called and made an advanced reservation for 1pm for 25 people. I arrived 30 minutes prior to the reserved time to make sure the tables will be ready, checked in ahead of time and was told it would be a 10-20 minutes wait, My group came in by 1pm and no tables were ready, and we were left waiting far longer than anticipated, it took 50 minutes waiting at the lobby area. This disrupted our plans and caused unnecessary frustration. Once we were finally seated, at almost 2pm, We were served breadsticks immediately, One of the soups we wanted was completely unavailable at 2:30pm and by the time our main courses arrived, we were already stuffed from eating the bread. The food experience was equally unsatisfactory. The servers were polite but did little to improve the situation—the manager was inconvenient and unhelpful, showing little concern for our experience or attempting to rectify the problems. In the end, we reluctantly put our meals into to-go boxes and prepared to leave, feeling frustrated, disappointed, and undervalued as customers. Overall, the combination of long waits, poor food options, and indifferent management made this visit very unpleasant. I expected much better from a restaurant of this reputation and would not recommend this location to anyone hoping for a pleasant dining experience, especially for a special occasion.

The waitress we had was Ashley. She was great and even the manager was great and asked how are experience was and told him it was great so we filled out the longhorn survey and he gave us a free appetizer next time we come or order pick up! The food and service were perfect. A+ steak. If I go, I'd go around 4 or 5 pm. Thank you all for giving me and my fiancee a nice time out together!

Took a while to get seated, but that's expected. The server got our order and brought the drinks and bread. The bread was cold, and he didn't return for a while. My glass was empty for se real minutes. My burger (only one on the menu) came out and was cooked to medium as requested, but it had no flavor, and the bun had a funny taste. I waited 5 minutes for ketchup and chuckled as another waiter was walking around with ketchup and A1 in his back pockets. Anyway, I'd go back for the steaks, which are good, but I will never get the burger again.

It’s been couple of years since I visited but I was not disappointed. On a busy Friday night 6/20/25 I came in around 5:30 p.m. and my waiting time was only 5 minutes. They use ur phone number to let you know when table is ready. Very polite and friendly waitress asked our choices of drinks and the bread came right after all warm and fresh. The side salads were delicious. Mine was with honey mustard. The entry was filling but dessert that I glanced over the neighboring table was inviting to be devoured. So it happened!! Strawberry shortcake 🍰 was amazing.

Spoke to a Greg general manager.... He was was cordial and did his due diligence to try and find an issue that I had a month and a half ago regarding to go order for two bacon burgers... Burgers look great on the outside... Once we tasted the burgers we immediately realize they were raw. They had told me that they were going to send out a gift card to replace my order. Never received it... Advise Greg of the situation.... Basically said that there's nothing he can do and of course I'm not going to keep a receipt from a month and a half ago... I'm not going to take this matter any further. $50 ain't going to make or break me but I do work hard for a living and it's the principal that bothers me the most. So this will be the last time I go to longhorn or any Darden restaurant here in Hickory North Carolina and Florida. It's a shame because I really enjoyed Ruth Chris!!! I don't think I will do is to make sure I use my word of mouth advertising to enlighten my constituents

We went to eat lunch 10/7/2025. That was disgusting. Everything was so salty. We ordered steak and fries. My steak was absolutely burnt black. 3 steak plates and fries were $78. Don't waste your time and money on horrible food. The waiter needed a bath. Our drinks ran out he finally came over to refill and made a statement about us sucking down the tea. I told him as salty as the food is I'm surprised we have drank more. Longhorn used to be a great place to eat. Not so much anymore. They'll never get my business again.

This was our first time to this location as we recently moved about 30 minutes away. Well cooked and prepared sirloin and baked potato. Wife’s sirloin salad and french onion soup was great. Not so impressed with lava cake, but it was free thanks to my recent birthday. Good service. Don’t forget, they offer military and veteran discount.

Had to wait a few minutes which is no big deal. Got our seat. Took our waitress at least 15 minutes to get to us for our food and drink order. In the meantime we watched her wait several tables and get their drink orders that were seated after us. Finally made her way to us and was saying everyone was seated in her area at the same time which we knew was a lie. Got our food. Food was good as always. We paid our bill as I was finishing my margarita. Went to leave and husband overhead our waitress complaining to her manager how we were still seated. She turned around and saw us and said oh there they are and then was like have a nice day. Glad I didnt hear her complaining. I mean it took you 15 minutes to get our orders and such after we watched you take others orders that were seated after us but you wanna complain about us still trying to finish our food and leave. Wish I could remember her name because I would put it on here so everyone else would know it. Would leave her zero stars if I could. Some people aren't meant to work in this atmosphere and it showed last night.

Went on a Sunday morning and surprisingly, we got seated right away as the breakfast crowd hadn't shown up yet. This is like all Cracker Barrels I've been to so I know what to expect. I got the build-your-own breakfast with eggs, sausage and plain hash browns. It's not too expensive for what you get. Service was fast and pleasant. It wasn't too noisy and we could actually talk without yelling. We got the check quickly so it was a quick turnaround on the table. We wandered around the store and by the time we left, the restaurant had a wait list.

I finally get my food and and get back home. half of what I ordered wasn’t there. I was missing mashed potatoes, pinto beans and fried apples.

This was the first time ever that I have been disappointed in the service at any Cracker Barrel. Not only did it take quite a while for our server to come to our table, but she put in the wrong order. When our food came, we could tell it wasn't the omelet we had ordered. She never came back by our table or brought the orange juice that we ordered. We were hungry and had a schedule to keep, so we ended up eating what had been served. It was some kind of Benedict, and it was good... it just wasn't what we ordered.

Best CB experience to date! It's been a tough day. My work vehicle crapped out on me and I had to call a friend to pick me up several hours away from home who broke down on the way to get me. We finally got on the road and were super hungry, and still covered in Greece from the repairs. We cleaned up and went in and sat down right away. Once we placed our order, the food was out fast! I FINALLY tried the camp fire beef and THAT was off the chain! My mind shot back to my childhood camping days and I savored every smokey bite! A few biscuits and some of that DE-licious apple butter and I was done. Sadie took wonderful care of us. She was super friendly, courteous and a pleasure to tip. She kept our cups full with a friendly smile and a quick step. Honestly the whole experience was just what we needed, And as an extra bonus I found out I had a bunch of points and got one of our meals for free! I didn't get her name, but the young lady who took my payment was just as friendly and as much a pleasure Thank you Sadie, cooks, and the whole team at Hickory CB! The Indian Land location in Hickory has received high praise for its attentive staff, quick service, and outstanding food. It's a great spot to catch a game with separate areas for dining and watching sports.
We came on a Tuesday and had the margarita, which was made very well. The artichoke and spinach dip was very tasty. The server suggested tacos as a half off option and they did not disappoint. We will definitely be back again.

I definitely Notice a huge difference in how friendly the staff are because recently the customers service has been perfect. We've visited many times and I'm just now leaving a review. I'd say overall it's hit or miss. Usually the wait time for a party under 4 isn't too long. We don't prefer the high top tables because the chairs are difficult for kids, but if you want a booth you will wait longer. The service is sometimes excellent and other times, like today, not great. We barely saw our waitress. We've had numerous items from the menu. Our favorites are probably the burgers, but the last time we ate here and got them, our medium rare burgers were black. The fries are awful and we never eat them. The fish & chips (not chips but it comes with the terrible fries) is decent with good flavor. My husband liked the Cajun shrimp Alfredo and has liked the ribs. I've had the salmon numerous times and it's usually always good. We've tried a few appetizers and they taste like basic appetizers would, just a bit pricey depending on what you get. The atmosphere is a sports place with tons of TV's all going, so except it to be a little loud. They do have a lot of menu items to choose from, so there's something for everyone. So, with that said, it's a decent place to eat and you may have great service and food one time and then the next you don't. But they really do need some new fries and a better way to cook them.

Hands down the worst service I have ever received. We had to ask someone to find our server for refills and when she came to the table she treated us like we were bothering her. We waited over 15 minutes to pay never saw her again so my wife went to the car because she was so mad and didn't think she could be professional. A manager finally brought the check I paid and will never be back. There is no way a server is that bad and management is not aware of it.On a good note the food was amazing just no service at all.

We are reoccurring customers at the inside bar. It’s always been amazing. Today sat at the outside bar today due to the inside being full. We ordered our drinks and it took the waiter 25 minutes to come back around and ask if we were going to get food. AFTER walking past us 5+ times. We left. If you go, don’t sit outside. The waiters/bartends suck.

It's been a long time since I've eaten here. I know its a bar, and their options reflect typical bar menu items. That being said, I was rather disappointed with the lack of options. I ended up getting the pizza since it was recommended. It was ok, very lack luster, I doubt i would recommend it personally wasn't for me. They definitely could use some flavor. Dinner at Kickback Jack’s never disappoints. My wife and I stopped in tonight and went with two of our favorites—Philly cheese and ribs. Both were exactly what you hope for when you’re craving comfort food done right. The Philly was loaded and full of flavor, and the ribs were tender enough to practically fall off the bone. Every bite just reminded us why we keep coming back. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is always on point, and the food has that consistent, made-with-care quality you can count on. Kickback Jack’s is one of those places where you know you’re going to leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

Ny Hibachi Buffet is a spacious and laid-back establishment that offers an extensive array of Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Mexican, and American cuisine. The staff is warm and accommodating, serving up a delectable and diverse buffet with an impressive variety of options. Although sushi may not be my preference, it comes highly recommended by others for its exceptional quality.
When I walked in the building, their food buffet were very fresh and their prices were extremely high. I thought first my dinner buffet was gonna cost me $18.66 as soon I walked in & saw the sign at the front desk but now it was $21.90 because they charged my drink for $3 (free refills). I just didn’t know of a fact that Sunday was gonna be a "All-Day" Dinner buffet only on Sundays with their high prices. I will definitely go back & eat here again ❤️🤍✨

I visited this buffet today. The food tastes below average, but overall it’s okay. If you don't leave a tip, the waiter gets visibly offended, turns away, and doesn't talk. You can come here for lunch or dinner once or twice. I recommend it.

This is by far the best Chinese buffet around! It is definitely worth the price. We went for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated right away. The food was hot and fresh and the buffet always stayed full of food. They also have a great sushi selection and a hibachi bar where you can build your own plate and they cook it for you. The hibachi grill is included in the buffet. Staff was friendly and kept our drinks filled and dirty plates taken away.

Was pretty disappointed. Looks great when you first walk in, but after you've made your first food run then you realize you may have made a mistake coming here. Cold food. Yes everything is on steam warming tables, but it's doing nothing to heat the food. Also you can taste and tell certain food dishes are warmed up leftovers. Wasn't happy with the experience and I wouldn't return.
Robert A — Google review
While offering a variety of dishes the food was barely warm, several items were actually cold. Unfortunately all of the buffet is beginning to taste the same rather than retaining each items unique flavor. However, the prices are reasonable, the service was prompt and the staff was courteous.

(UPDATE - 2 years later) Better than ever! Still excellent with tons of Healthy choices. I love it! My first time here. I'll be back soon! Had stir fried veggies, chicken and shrimp with baked salmon and more veggies. Very healthy options here with a 10% discount for seniors. Only $9.99 - - - Wow! Check it out you cannot beat it.

Had dinner tonight the waitress watched us sit down but waited awhile before approaching the table to ask what we were having to drink. The food was cold if you want hot food have the man grill it. When it came to pay the check I cashier and people scattered in front of the desk. This place has gone down hill. I will not be returning for $43.80 not to mention tipping the waitress something for time she received a flat rate not at all what she would have earned. Note: if you choose to work serving guests try to be pleasant.

The overall cleanliness of the place is commendable, although some reviewers noted that the restrooms could use improvement. Was seated as soon as we walked in. And they took our order fast. Waitress was very nice. There soup is delicious. Steak and ribs were good to.

In the area for a car audio show, traveling from Chicago, our first dinner in the area. It was good, gave the food 4 stars because I wasn't a fan of how the ribs were cooked. Kinda tough and chewy, didn't fall off the bone as described. For the price I expected a bit more from the ribs. I did take a bit of my partners steak. Even though he gets well done, it was very good and flavorful,(I like a juicer steak usually). It was calm and quiet except for all the loud trucks racing by on the street lol. Our server was a sweetheart, I believe her name was Lisa. Hard working and attentive! Next year, if we attend this event for a second year, we will come back with more business!
Jillian S — Google review
We visited on March 14, 2025 We were sat almost immediately. I did have to clean off my seat. The table was slightly sticky. Service: Our server was Nia. She was very nice and attentive. We did have to keep reminding her for things, but it was late, so she may have had an already long day. Food- We ordered loaded potato soups and a side salad for our appetizers and of course had the rolls! They were all delicious. Our daughter ordered a Cheeseburger and fries. She enjoyed it. Me and my husband ordered the Southern Surf and Turf. Y'all, I honestly do not know what happened to O'Charley's. Or maybe it's the location because we go a few times a year in Georgia. When I tell you everything was small on the plate! It was like mini stuffed crab, mini catfish strips and one and a half tenders and the tenders were about a minute or two overcooked. The fries were bigger. They forgot our shrimp, so they had to bring it out later, but we were packing up our food. I think O'Charley's is good, but this day wasn't a great one.

Service was fantastic!! Madison was super sweet and very attentive. The spinach and artichoke dip was honestly not good. It was mostly spinach and some Parmesan sprinkled on top that wouldn’t melt. Probably had two bites before putting it to the side. Had the garlic pasta and it was also just okay. I’ve had the pasta before and it was better in the past. The rolls were also not as good as they usually are. Was honestly pretty disappointed with the food. Service was fantastic though!!

Came in with my wife to get a little food, service is alright, not the greatest. Upon ordering my food, I received a Louisiana steak(asked for medium rare) it came out blue rare, upon telling them just a little more cook time they burnt the steak and it was disgusting, the chef doesn’t know how to cook steak, that’s for sure!

The chef was very nice and funny. He gave me all the extras nobody wanted! The rice was sooo good along with the veggies. I got the strip and chicken which was seared and cooked perfectly! Severs would refill your cup before it even went halfway down. Super quick as well.

The cook seemed to want to be anywhere but where he was , after waiting 30 mins to be seated ( which we didn't mind) only to be rushed out before getting to eat entrees. It was a huge disappointment. It was 100.00 for myself and a 7 and 8 year old , who both ate off kids meal only to be rushed out after the meat hit the plate. The cooks used to be very entertaining and made it a very enjoyable so you didn't mind paying a little more, but now no show and terrible service. Can't think of any reason to go back and really regret wasting my money and time at this place.

And when it was time for the food to be made everything was made perfectly with no issues or error. If you know anyone who has the money I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR SURE!!
American P — Google review
From the moment we were seated, the waitress was not friendly at all. Rushed us honestly, but unfortunately it got worse with the cook. The only food item that didn't have a burnt taste was the first item cooked ( the rice ). The grill was never scrapped after the rice was cooked and you could visibly see the build up of burnt in center. Our shrimp , steak, chicken, broccoli and even the cabbage at the end were all moved at some point on TOP OF ALL THAT BURN BUILD UP and our food tasted horrible to the point where some could not even eat half of it. We didnt complain because staff was so unfriendly that we felt they would think we were trying to get a free meal. I did show my pictures to the young lady at the front desk on my way out the door and even she said that shouldn't have happened. Horrible experience. Will be a long time before I go back to this place again. Wish I could add pictures here so you could see what nastiness our food was cooked in.

Bob Evans is a casual eatery located on a farm in Ohio, known for its hearty meals and country atmosphere. Customers praise the restaurant for providing satisfying family-style dishes and creating a welcoming environment. Orders are typically prepared promptly upon arrival, ensuring that nothing is missing. The friendly and helpful staff have even been known to assist with catering events, including loading food into customers' vehicles.
On the way to Hendersonville, we stopped at the Bob Evans in Hickory. The food, prices and service were great. My Sister Pea and I ordered a Dinner Bell Special for only $8.99 each. These are slightly smaller portions but still ample. You also get a choice of roll, Texas toast or banana bread. Yes, banana bread! My Bubba Bean ordered the Honey Butter Chicken and Biscuit. Everything was delicious. I also bought a T-shirt that said Body By Bacon. It’s a real shame our Greensboro location closed.

This Bob Evans is nice and clean. It always feels crowded in the waiting area, then you get a table and see a bunch of tables open. Maybe they were short on servers at the time i was there. The food was pretty good. The bacon was way under cooked. I ate one piece and brought two home so i could cook them to my liking. The biscuits were ok.. it seems they changed their recipe from what i remembered. It tasted very floury. The gravy was good. The pancake was the best. The coffee was good. My server Rachel was very good. She took care of two big tables as well as other tables with two and four customers at each plus my one single table. It's been a while since I've eaten at Bob's. I think it might be a while longer before i go back. The prices are really high for what you get. It was $23 dollars by myself. Go try it out. Enjoy😋

I was just there, ordered chicken tenders meal, came with fries. The food was barely warm. Chicken was so dried out. I had to keep sipping soda,to make it go down. There is no excuse for this. No, I won't be back to eat there. It's still as I remembered it, from 35 years ago. Nothing changed.

My wife and I used to eat here once or twice a week. We drive 40 minutes one way because we love the food. We have reduced our visits to once a month, maybe twice because the wait times have been terrible. A few times a cook didn't show up and the managers are cooking to keeps things going. Running out of food is another issue. We come here early to beat the rush and it's not packed when we get here yet we still wait. I understand employee issues but this has gone on for months. We're about at the point of ending our visits. Maybe we'll try back down the road to see if it's improved. I'd like to add...servers are fine. Never had an issue with them. I believe the problems start in the kitchen. We were just told our ticket was "bumped" and they forgot to make our food..... Little over a month ago I left a review about the decline in customer service and very long wait times due to staffing issues. We came back today, 9/21 to give it another try. Got here at 10am, seated immediately and had our food literally in 10 minutes. As I sat there I noticed a lot more hussle and interaction between manager and employees. Good job folks...110% improvement!! Food of course was awesome as usual!

The Snack Bar is a great place to eat, talk, and enjoy your companions and the environment. It has been around as long as I can remember. (At least since the early 1960's when I finally got my driver's license!) When I go there these days, I see my generation there with their grandchildren and some with their great-grandchildren. As far as I know it is still owned by the same family. The food is good to great and prepare on site every day. You might have to wait a little while at peak hours, but it is worth it! Most of the meats are fried but some can be cooked differently. Expect a little extra time for this to be done. There is an excellent salad bar! The meatloaf is wonderful! Enjoy your trip there!

Although there was some dissatisfaction with the host who lacked enthusiasm and did not provide a children's menu, the overall experience was positive. The wait staff proved to be professional, friendly, and highly accommodating. As per usual.. Applebee's seems to constantly miss the mark on the food. Regardless of where I travel.. I always hope for the best, But rarely do they manage to figure out a steak.. The picture is not showing the rawness of the steak itself. Then it literally sat at the bar for 10 min. Before anyone asks me.. even though I had pushed it far away.. And it was not busy.. o well!!! Cheesesticks were good though..
Jeffrey W — Google review
The waiter was great until I found some kind of wax paper looking stuff inside of my burger when I cut into it. Once I finally was able to get him to the table he seemed to act like it was something I had done. I showed him what came out of the burger and it still had cheese cooked onto it but he says well that looks like a napkin. I said no I don't think so, it came out of the middle of the burger and it doesn't tear easily. So he asks if I just want him to take the burger off or bring me something else. Stupid question considering I came to eat and didn't get to do that with the first burger. So I tell him to bring another burger and he makes a joke about this one not having plastic in it. I figured a manager may come by to talk to me about it or at the very least he would offer to take the burger off since I found something inedible in my food. But no, no manager came by, he never offered any kind of rectification other than bringing me another burger which I couldn't even enjoy because I was worried that I could have the same issue. Any other time in my life if I've had an issue with food a manager has come by or they offer some kind of discount, coupon or something. It's not about getting free food, it's about the complete lack of care he showed. I don't think I'll be returning to Applebees anytime soon.

It had been a while since we were here. I got the lime chicken which was very good! The chicken was very tender had a great taste rice and pico de gallo was also good. Inside was clean but could use some new upholstery on some of the bench seats. The waitress was awesome! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Will go back again.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but my experience at this Applebee’s was disappointing. Our waitress never once checked on us after taking our order, and we were left waiting an unusually long time for our food and drinks. When we did try to get her attention, she came across as short and dismissive instead of helpful. The lack of basic courtesy and attentiveness really soured the meal. Definitely not the level of service I would expect.

Red Lobster is a vibrant chain eatery that offers classic American seafood dishes in a New England-themed setting. Despite occasional delays and shortcomings in service, the cuisine is consistently delightful, fresh, and piping hot when served. While there were some hiccups such as the absence of silverware initially and slow drink refills, these minor inconveniences did not overshadow the incredible food experience. The recently introduced all-you-can-eat shrimp option for $20 is particularly noteworthy.
I ate here for the first time in a long time. My husband’s first time, ever. We order a calamari starter and crab legs with a side of mac and cheese. The waitress forgot to put in the order for our starter so we didn’t get it until we were far into our meal, and were too full to eat it at that point. Crab legs were awesome, though! I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to eat a delicious and filling meal with Red Lobster's menu offerings. I had a side salad with nice fresh greens, crispy Brussel Sprouts and a baked potato. The Sprouts were delicious! We had an awesome lunch. Only 4 stars because our waitress, although very nice, wasn't especially attentive. We waited too long just for butter, drink refills, etc. when the restaurant was almost empty.

Jen gave us great service during our visit. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right. The food was delicious, and Jen checked in without being overbearing, which made the meal even better. Overall, a really good experience just shy of perfect, since the meal took some time getting to us but definitely worth coming back for!

Seafood restaurant
Harbor Inn Seafood is a delightful spot that captures the essence of traditional American seafood dining. Nestled in Hickory, North Carolina, this charming eatery offers a variety of broiled and fried seafood platters that are sure to satisfy any seafood lover's cravings. The ambiance exudes an old-school vibe, making it a cozy place for families and friends to gather. While some diners have expressed mixed feelings about their experiences—particularly regarding menu options like salt and pepper oysters—the overall atmosphere remains inviting.
If you are looking for an old seafood style restaurant this is the place. They have daily special, great hush puppies, and my fish and shrimp was cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend and I will definitely be eating here again.

I got the fired oyster platter and was happy with it. My husband got the pick three platter and got oysters, frog legs, and flounder; but he wasn’t very impressed. Our waiter was good, as he had two large tables, but maybe they need more help. Due to his large tables we did end up waiting awhile for our food and then our check.

We visited the one in Hickory NC. Clean facility and we had the BEST server in the house! I asked her name, but can’t recall it at the moment. She was fantastic! The food was more than we could eat and needed boxes. I had to save room for the key lime pie! A nice family oriented atmosphere as well. We plan to go again when we’re visiting family there again!

Good food. Has that old calabash fish style restaurant atmosphere. So not like a fine dining place but good food and service foe a decent price.

Ordered my usual which is broiled flounder. This time my broiled flounder still had the skin ( I ask for it to not) and I nearly choked on the bones in the photos. I could not finish it after. This time was just a bad experience. Be careful of unexpected fish bones left in your food. They aren’t supposed to be served this way. Also the steamed veggies were room temp.

I've been eating at fish camps since I moved to this area over 30 years ago. A lot of the good ones were sold from the original families and just went downhill. We went here today because it's hard to find a good fish camp. Honestly, I'm not sure I'll be back. The food was good and the portions were adequate but I just wasn't impressed with the place. I wanted salt/pepper oysters and was told they don't do that. I've never been to a fish camp that doesn't offer salt/pepper option for most of their items. My bf wanted salt/pepper green shrimp. Again, it is not available. Okay, fine. Got the sweet potato as my side. I don't like sugar/cinnamon so just wanted it loaded (butter, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, etc) like I've been able to get at every other fish camp I've ever been to. The waitress pointed out a tray with butter and a shaker with sugar/cinnamon and said, "I'll bring you some sour cream." Like what? They only offer butter and sour cream for their regular potatoes. So I get fewer options and less food with higher prices? Like, I get it, food costs and all that but dang, you can't even give me a loaded baked potato and you wanna charge me $16 for 2 fish items, only one of those can be salt/pepper (catfish filet) and charge me $2 for tea? The food was hot, and it tasted good. I just wasn't impressed. The restaurant was clean and the service was good. Idk, it just felt like, an everything is pre-made, ready to fry, type of place with no options, because that would be too difficult to address due to the volume of the food they're serving. I'd rather go to a fish camp where I have to wait a little longer to get my food cooked to order. I try to be fair in all my reviews, and I'm just not sure I'd come back here.

Chili's Grill & Bar is a family-friendly restaurant chain that offers a variety of Tex-Mex and American dishes in a Southwestern-themed atmosphere. The staff provides excellent service, with attentive and friendly waitstaff. The menu features classic mini burgers, fries, and mashed potatoes, served quickly and efficiently. Although the burgers were slightly overcooked, they still tasted good. The highlight of the meal was the fantastic fries.
The service here was great, our waitress was very nice and helpful during the entire visit even while it was super busy! The restaurant was very clean as well. The food was good as always, and just like almost everyone else we can’t get enough of those mozzarella sticks (highly recommend them if you haven’t had them) 😂. Prices are a little on the higher side but the quality we were served with matched the price well!

Our server was super sweet. After asking how old my daughter was (she had recently turned 2), she brought out ice cream and had the crew sing for her without being asked. I didn't know restaurants even did that anymore! My girl loved the attention, and had a great time.

My server was very attentive even with four tables on New Year's Eve! He told us about a special I missed on the back of the menu which ended up getting us a free drink and a app or salad for the same price of the same meal. Our burgers were really juicy and thick. We didn't have to wait for refills or anything for that matter

I ordered their new QP hamburger 🍔 and I have to say, it was pretty good! It was seasoned well, with french fries. I ate my burger so fast! It was seasoned well. Really it was the best burger I've had in a very long time, as we don't eat out much anymore. My husband got bacon cheddar fries off the appetizer section, he said it was pretty good too, ate half and took the rest home so we'll see if he REALLY liked it! Yes folks, he liked his order to the point of eating the other half the next day for lunch. Our waitress was nice and our order came out really fast, and we were pleased with that! The atmosphere was a little loud but hey, I haven't been out to eat in awhile and wasn't ready for the amount of kids we heard that night. Our experience was a good one and I will be back!

Tried to come for a birthday celebration on a Friday night (tonight). We knew it would be busy and there would be a wait. I walked in to get on the list and when I said we would have a party of 12 they said it would be at least 3 hours. When I said I’d like to get on the list anyway at least until I could confer with my party, one of the people at the hostess stand stormed off and the one with the tablet rolled her eyes as she took my contact info. I cannot believe how rude they were and how horribly I was treated.

Was told we should give this place a try. I had heard of it but never came to mind when looking for something to eat. But I’m glad we did! Pretty neat interesting environment! The whiskey barrel booths are small but great idea for couples. Nice looking bar and had good music playing. The menu was large and had a vast amount of food to choose from. We had buffalo wings an appetizer, they were good. Your normal deep fried wings tossed in buffalo. I ordered the special which was Philly steak and fries. The sandwich was pretty good, kind of weird that it had yellow American cheese on it though. My fiancé had some kind of chicken grill sandwich with sour dough bread. Had 2 nice pieces of chicken, bacon American cheese again, and I think onions with mayo and such. She enjoyed it. I would like to visit again and try more things on the menu. Waitress took good care of us as well.

We had a party of six and they stuck us in 2 booths. A booth holds four people. We tried to call two days ahead to make a reservation they said they don't take reservation. Yet the sign says if you have a party of six or more to make a reservation! The only positive about this place was the cooks did awesome job and the bartender did awesome job! Everything else sucked!

Fun little restaurant that allows you to sit in wood barrels. The kids really enjoyed that. The waitress was great and attentive. We didn't have to ask for anything. I got the bayou burger and a side salad. The salad was so good and fresh. It was a large portion and about filled me up. The burger lacked something. It tasted ok. Would have been nice with some blue cheese crumbles or lettuce and onions. My husband got the BBQ plate. It was huge and tasted good. Kids got tenders and fries which were really good and appeared hand breaded in house.

Mekvilai Thai Cuisine is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Nestled in Catawba County, this restaurant serves some of the freshest and most flavorful Thai dishes around, with everything cooked to order. Their homemade noodles are a standout feature, particularly in their renowned drunken noodles with scallops. The menu boasts a variety of options, including many vegetarian choices and mouthwatering curry dishes that burst with flavor.
There is plenty of parking available. They have a large menu with many vegetarian options. Service was great and the food was delicious! My friend really enjoyed the sticky rice. The red curry was delicious. Prices are affordable. We will definitely return again! Highly recommend

I just moved into town and discovered this place through my parents' recommendation. They raved about the duck dish, and I wanted to see it for myself. Ya'll, this place is sooo delicious. I have taken my parents twice to this place just so they can have a Chu Chee Duck meal each. I cannot say enough about their Chu Chee Duck. My parents shared pieces with me and listen to me, go order yourself a Chu Chee Duck. Skin so perfectly crispy, flavorful, and airy, and meat sooo tender, I don't know how they do it, but I want them to never change the way this duck dish is prepared. I have tried their House Pad Thai (delicious) and the Pad See Ew (also delicious and pictured here). One server told me the Pad See Ew noodles are made in-house. If this is true, I am amazed. It was perfect in consistency and delicious after stir fry. The way this restaurant cooks the noodles is as authentic as I've ever seen anywhere stateside. Comes out smoky from the wok, the veggies are cooked perfectly al dente to leave a slight crunch. Portions are PERFECT. I will be a regular patron from now on. If you haven't tried Mekvilai, you're missing out on a delicious gift to yourself, your family and friends. I have never endorsed a restaurant this hard before. 😀

Being half Thai, I can definitely say this is the best Thai restaurant in Catawba County! I love the curry dishes❤️ lots of flavor here! The only concern I have is that when ordering online, the wait time can be up to an hour. Not sure if that’s normal. It may be because of how fresh the food is, but I’ve never had to wait an hour for Thai takeout. Hopefully they find a way to make it more convenient!

The only thing I wish they would change is the music. Some Thai like music would make this spectacular restaurant that much better! The food was some of the best Thai I have ever had! It is cooked to order so your food is always fresh! They even make their own noodles!!! The drunken noodles with scallops was out of this world. Service was 5 stars!!! My husband and I highly recommend you try this place!

We visited this restaurant while passing through Hickory based on the good reviews, but our experience was disappointing. The inside could really use some remodeling and had a strange smell. I ordered the Ginger Thai and asked to substitute rice with noodles — I wasn’t told this would cost extra. When the food arrived, everyone else’s dishes were flavorful, but mine was completely bland with no taste at all. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he was very rude and told me I didn’t know what the dish was supposed to taste like and would still have to pay for it. I had to insist just to get a different dish. To top it off, a 20% tip was automatically added because we were a party of six — which felt excessive given the poor customer service. Overall, both the customer service and the quality of my dish need major improvement

This was my initial experience trying Thai cuisine, and it certainly lived up to my expectations. The prices for the dishes I ordered were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. The flavors of the food were absolutely delightful (the image of what I had is Ladna with Chicken). The server was extremely courteous and attentive. The establishment exuded a tranquil and serene ambiance, with fairly comfortable seating arrangements.
This place is great with great service. Got the house pho. I called in, and I told them I'm dining in I only called because I didn't want to wait. And when I got there they got a table and everything ready for me. Sat right down and just started eating. Love this place. Highly recommend. I will definitely try a different dish next time.

Ordered takeout from here and it was good. The customer service was great from taking my order to pickup. Overall the food was good but not as spicy as I would have liked it to be. That said, I did not specifically request it to be hot when I ordered so remember to do so in case you like your Thai food spicy.

It's ok but just ok!!! Over priced for what you get as far as food. Beer prices are what you get else where. Everything we ordered was exceptional! Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Live music isn't too loud either. Two thumbs way up! (Formerly 5 stars) Update: This used to be an incredible restaurant. I don't know what else has changed here alongside the "temporary menu", but this has become a shadow of the restaurant it used to be. The food, was delicious and well made, but is now neither. They've changed recipes on key items for the dramatically worse. The quality with which it is made and presented has also bottomed out. The service was now poor also. I won't give it one star because I'm not sure I got food poisoning from eating there, but it does seem likely. As far as Covid protocols go, this is the kind of place where it seems like they resent you for wearing a mask. The other patrons weren't and the bartender/ server only did while at our table. So yeah. Not likely to go back, which is a shame because of how much I used to love this place. Now, it seems like they will close soon, and I will not mourn their passing, as they are already dead to me.

Hooters, a well-known chain of sports bars and grills, is renowned for its delectable chicken wings that are served by waitresses dressed in shorts. This establishment boasts an amicable team, mouthwatering wings, satisfying cuisine, affordable prices, and prompt service. If you're seeking a place with exceptional wings, Hooters comes highly recommended. The food provided is superb; the wings are simply delicious. The staff members are friendly and efficient.
I visited the Hooters in Hickory on 6/18/25 around 10:30 PM, and had a great experience! The service was top-notch—Ashley was super kind and went out of her way to help me redeem my free appetizer reward, even though it wasn’t showing up in the app (Hooters, please fix that issue when rewards come through email!). The manager was also very kind and helpful, which added to the positive vibe of the night. I ordered the Texas Style Quesadillas, and wow—they were absolutely delicious. Great flavor, fresh, and just the right amount of spice. Great vibes, great staff, and solid food. I’ll definitely be back to this location!

Ordered online takeout last night from the Hickory location. It was close to the hotel we were staying at. The wings were really gross. I tried 1 of each. Neither of us understood how hot wings and naked wings should taste so bad. The mild hot sauce had two textures. It was almost like it was mixed with peanut butter. I was actually concerned about it and couldn’t dip into it a second time. Both sauces tasted odd. We ordered two orders of onion rings and there didn’t actually seem to be any onion in them. Just breading. We went to bed hungry and wasted close to $60.
Tera C — Google review
The best customer service I've had from a Hooters, ever. The manager was on the spot for everything making the experience more enjoyable. I think the place could have been a bit cleaner for sure. The dining room was good, but if this wall by the bar looks the way it did, how does the rest of the kitchen look?
Zach R — Google review
So disappointing, I know I can go anywhere for wings but always go to Hooters they have the best wings. They change their sauce and it's absolutely horrible. The waitress tried her best to make everything right. Without the original wing sauce no reason to come back.
Kathleen S — Google review
My wife and I have ate at Hooters for many years. We have always loved the wings and the friendly, professional service at our local restaurant. However, prices have more than doubled, they have shrunk the choices on the menu, and they now charge $.99 for ranch instead of allowing one per serving of wings. It’s not the $.99, it’s the already high prices and the principle of the matter.
Vernon H — Google review
I sat at the bar for my lunch. One of the guys pulled the under counter ice machines out and was cleaning behind it. It was nasty. I couldn't even finish my lunch. This should be done during closed hours, not when customers are there and can see this disgusting mess. Otherwise, the service was great. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

IHOP, a well-established eatery known for its wide range of pancakes and other American breakfast and diner dishes, offers an enjoyable dining experience. During a recent visit, the four servers and cook exhibited remarkable attentiveness to their customers. The friendly server ensured comfort by frequently checking on patrons and providing updates on food status, which was highly appreciated. Furthermore, the speed at which the orders were delivered left a positive impression.
Outstanding service from Angel! The pumpkin pancakes were delightfully autumn like, and the poblano omelet was savory and filling.

We visited IHOP in Hickory and left disappointed. My husband asked for crispy hash browns but was served soggy, undercooked potatoes (see photos). I ordered the seasonal pumpkin-spice pancakes pictured on the menu, but what we received lacked pumpkin flavor and was basically inedible. I gave constructive feedback to our waiter and later spoke with the new manager, who was receptive and said changes are coming — especially in the kitchen. This used to be one of our favorite spots, and I hate to see the quality slipping. I’m hopeful the new management will restore consistency. I’ll update this review after we return. (Photos and visit 9/8/2025 at 10am.)

To make a long story short, i pulled up and there were 3-4 guys outside laughing and playing at the back of the store. 3 more workers came out to smoke and talk, mind you i’m sitting in the curbside reserved spot for 20-30 minutes now and still nothing. I called the restaurant 5 times and it hung up every single time. And all of these workers saw me sitting here. Someone came out and i asked about my order and she said “we’re working on it” obviously not if i see you back here beating a pack of newports? This ihop is disgraceful and y’all need to do better. Oh yeah i’ve been sitting here for an hour now and still nothing… so update, i go in and get my food and it’s been sitting on the counter the whole time. The lady goes “oh it’s right here” mind you this is the bs they gave me. The manager did come and apologize so that was the only plus but best believe i won’t be coming back here EVER

I believe that they have changed something. I don't know if it's the cook or food distributor. We absolutely love the Colorado Omelets, although their taste was off this time, and we both felt nauseated later. Our waitress was nice, but she wasn't on it. You had to ask for the salsa that was supposed to come with it, and you had to ask for a refill even with the empty cups sitting near the edge. We still tipped nicely, thought that maybe she was new and would get better with time.
Regina O — Google review
I’m only giving this place a 3 star mostly for the service and communication of wait staff. The food was horrible. The cheese in my breakfast burrito wasn’t melted all the way, eggs looked like they were cooked in grease from sausage and they didn’t have sour cream. The pancakes that came with my meal were furthest thing from fluffy and one was almost burnt. I definitely can make better pancakes at home! The funny face for my daughter was just the whipped cream eyes/mouth. It didn’t have the two cherries on the eyes or chocolate chips on the mouth and no nose. I paid $7.29 for that pancake and apple sauce cup, I kind of expect it to look as pictured on the menu. It just seems like they did everything they could to cut corners on the food because of being short staffed. With all the being said, I could hear the staff communicate so wonderful to get people moved through as fast as possible even though, wait time was 45 mins. Every staff member I interacted with had a smile on their face!

Waitress was very nice but the kitchen was a disorganized mess. Saw at least 5 people in the kitchen and food still took half an hour. It was a busy time of day but I have been in other Ihop locations with less staff during very busy times and gotten much faster service. Looks like they need a skilled kitchen manager. Won't come again.

Way too slow. Food was good. The service was pretty good and they were really nice, but it seems badly managed, probably from Corporate’s side. Should either improve or close down. IHOP doesnt know how to manage a franchise and it clearly shows. Go somewhere else
