My husband and I found this restaurant because it was near our hotel. We absolutely loved having dinner here, and we would definitely recommend the place to other travellers. It is a small space, with a lovely intimate character. We ordered one Matsu course to share, which comprised 11 tempura dishes and other side dishes. The owner also offered us complementary genmaicha ice cream. The food was excellent and the service was extraordinary. The waitress was so kind and patient, taking the time to translate for us what each single dish was in English with the help of Google translate (as we don't speak any Japanese). They served the tempura dishes at a good slow pace, to ensure we would eat it hot. As they noticed we were splitting the first dish, they started preparing everything in half for us, so it would be very easy to share. As we arrived 45min before closing time and were a bit slow to go through all the dishes, they also stayed open beyond their closing time to allow us to finish. It was truly a lovely dining experience for us!

You can take a good quality of real tempura. There is no English menu but they are cooking seasonal fish and vegetables. At least It sill be busy in lunch time.

Love the chocolate-based broth ramen! It was so flavorful and doesn't taste anything like chocolate at all. Their other ramens are also good, it's even comparable to Ichiran regards to the quality. Nicely designed restaurant and toilet, friendly staff.

A JapanEat® recommendation, this is another local legend and for good reason. It is slinging out great Ramen and its own Okayama take on Katsudon. The Katsu is breaded and fried fresh after your order, and each succulent piece is a masterclass in tonkatsu. It is well breaded and results in an incredibly thin and light crust that holds up well under the thick sauce. The breading accentuates the pork, rather than being a costar or overpowering the pork flavor. The meat itself is tender and well portioned, not fatty or overly seasoned. The sauce for the Katsudon is a tomato-based sauce. It is thick and luscious, but not heavy, and pairs exceptionally well with both the Katsu and the Rice. It is compelling with each bite that you take, and keeps you coming back for more! A medium size is plenty for one person, as the portion sizes are massive for every meal. Half of the patrons seemed to be ordering the Chashu Ramen, and the other half the Katsudon. Okayama adds peas to all their meals, so that is included as well, and don't be picky and eat them! The staff is friendly and kind, but it is popular so be prepared to wait in line. They have an English Menu, and are *CASH ONLY*. If you are ever in the Okayama area, this is a great stop to visit and have an exceptionally cooked meal! Highly recommend!

Waited in queue for about 15min, had char siu men and katsudon. Katsudon really amazed me. Flaky and crispy outside, and tender in the middle. I usually don‘t enjoy demi glace sauce, but the sauce did elevated the whole dish here. Ramen was also decent, got a satisfying gyokai flavor to it. Both went great with the draft beer.

Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Stood in line for about 30-40 minutes to get a table. Service was very fast once seated and staff for friendly. An English menu was available. We got the katsu and an omelette. The katsu was perfectly fried. Very tender, but coating was flaky and crisp. The omelette was quite good as well. Very smooth texture. The sauve was hearty and our meal filling.

I went to visit at 3pm. There was Ramen serve time between 3pm to 4pm. The other one is not available until 4pm. Ramen is good. Not too salty, not too oily. Based flavour is sweet and soy sauce. Complexed with Dried fish flakes and Pork broth. I want to try some Pork cutlets with Donburi on the next time.
