A delicious vegetarian restaurant in New Bagan. It is situated in a quiet area off the main path beside some pagodas. The setting is lovely with lush greenery grown throughout the restaurant. We ordered the ginger lime juice and the dragon fruit mint lime drinks. Both were delicious. For food we had the spring rolls, vegetable curry, green bean salad and coconut rice. The flavours were excellent. Staff was welcoming and friendly. A great place to relax in a beautiful tranquil setting to enjoy a great meal with drinks in New Bagan.

If I can vote for the most beautiful place to eat in Bagan, I will choose Be Kind to Animals (The Moon). I’ve taste their Fried Noodle with Egg + Tofu, Ginger Hot Tea, and Ginger Juice. All were delicious! The service also fast and attentive. They gave us Tamarind candy at the end of our dinner and it’s so yummy, I can even buy one pack! Definitely high recommendation for me.

Delicious vegetarian restaurant in Bagan. A must visit if you enjoy great vegetarian options! And prices are so cheap. 3 of us ate heartily and paid about $15 USD. Incredible! We would come here again in an instant. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, and food is server promptly. Drinks are great, and the overall atmosphere is pretty amazing (especially when you realize that there are temples literally just across the road from the restaurant!)

My favorite restaurant in Bagan, everything is delicious and presentation of food is beautiful, staff is nice and friendly, atmosphere is cozy and casual. My favourites are vegetable chaptati, fried noodle with tofu & egg, dragonfruit juice with lime & mint, green beans & new potato salad.

I'm in love with the lush plants and natural decor of the restaurant. Also in love with the veggie burger and tamarind leaf salad. Extra in love with the coconut milkshake. The first couple of sips can have small bits and pieces of shredded coconut but after that it's smooth all the way ❤️

Pleasant vegetarian dinner experience today at Be Kind To Animals restaurant after our Bagan Temple hopping. My friend and I are staying at Thazin Garden Hotel, which is about 0.2 miles / 8 minute walk to the restaurant, and we wanted genuine Bagan foodploration that is not too far from the hotel. We were welcomed by the hostess with a warm smile. We tried Bagan Set Menu (which is good for two people that has about 5 food variety to choose from [see attached photo], curry soup, and a cup of rice), Vegetable Green Curry and Fresh Spring roll. Everything we tried was amazing-- fresh, flavorful and extraordinary. I've been to numerous vegetarian restaurants and I must say this restaurant deserves a good review. The food servers were so hilarious and accommodating! Ask for their bar menu. They serve wine and some cocktails. Got Mojito for 3,500 kyat! Not bad! And last but not least, I would like to also include in this review the tamarind flakes they give out at the end, which is free by the way, is really good! And if ever you get to like them... I would like to let you know that they sell them in a bigger pack for 1,500 kyat (see attached photo).

Great atmosphere, nice staff, would definitely return. I ordered a tea leaf salad and it was wayyyy too salty but the manager kindly offered to remake it. The second one was much better. I spent a couple hours here reading and relaxing. I had a good experience and at glad I made it to this restaurant for lunch!

Nice and well visited restaurant, you need to wait a short while to be seated, until the seats are available. Staff is super friendly and really polite. Food is quite good, they have a lot of different food on the menu. I tried the veggie burger, Malaysian curry and the tea salad. Lime Ginger juice is delicious. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lime juice ice tea ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tea Salad was super delicious ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Burger was good ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Malaysian curry was just OK, but that doesn’t mean that you will maybe love it. I like to eat really spicy and rich of flavour, so for me it was a bit blend.

Pretty decent place. Went there for dinner one night, we were immediately welcomed very friendly and given a table. There were only other tourists there, but we didn‘t expect other. We got the fried spring rolls (nothing special) and the Myanmar vegetable tempure (good) and as our mains one soup, the potato-chicken curry and the shan noodles. Everybody was happy with their choice, tasted ok.

I love this place's ambiance! Very open with friendly and attentive staffs. Its always packed during lunch hours. The foods are great, ranges from local burmese, thai and western. My favorite is the Kailan Salad, very fresh and portion is enough for 2 people sharing. The Myanmar fish curry is also good. Price is affordable for the good portion.

Best place to eat in Bagan! I met the friendliest staff in this little corner, plus the food was incredibly good! You might not find it appealing at first, but give them a try and you’ll get surprised. I stayed in Bagan for 4 days and ate here day and night for 3 days in a row... simply the best. This place had the best, coldest, drinks of anywhere we had eaten so far on this trip. Both the lime juice and iced tea tasted fresh cold and refreshing. My wife had the fried vermicelli with chicken and vegetables which was generally OK and just a little salty. I had the beef burger which, despite their claim, was not the best burger in Asia (not even the best in Myanmar), but it was really good. It could have used a little more cheese and a little more seasoning in the burger. The fries were fresh cut and fried to crispy perfection. I had to dock them a star because of the speed of service, my wife got her food around 30min before I got mine and they never brought the 3rd lime juice we ordered.

The place to go in Bagan, everyone knows! And it really lived up to its name. Although definitely not the cheapest option in town, it was still really good and worth the price. The shan noodles for 2,900kyats were extremely tasty and a large portion. The fresh lime juices really are as good as they say, try the one with mint for a mojito flavour, and the one with ginger if you love ginger, spicy but so refreshing. Also tried the pumpkin beef curry and tea leaf salad. Really good tea leaf salad. They also give you free peanuts on the table that you can get refilled as many times as you like = heaven. They also gave us banana with honey for dessert at no charge, a very nice touch.

Love it! Great drinks and desserts! Lots of foreigners here drunkenness and having burgers. We ordered fresh lime and mint drink, super refreshing for a hot day. They have a good WiFi. They also provide you with an English paper or magazine. You can just sit here and enjoy a drink while using the free WiFi. Definitely a good place to chillax. The menu also consist of a great combination of western, Chinese, myanmar food. They also have beer, liqueur and cocktails.

Excelent service and very good dinner. The quality of the food is incredible. I will recommend the roadted chicken and the avocado salad. The home made bread is also very good. The fish is good also.

Delicious food. Great service. Mainly caters to the tourist crowd but the food was still very good.

Like any place you eat there are different options and with each the flavor will be different. I suggest you try something local. Specifically the Breaded Butterfish, this dish is amazing. Also the smoked fish from the appetizer menu is also quite flavorful.

Probably one of the best fish curries I had in Myanmar! Lovely decorated with homemade bread and refreshing mango lemonade. Oh and not expensive :-)

Great place for foods and drinks. I love the taste. Fish curry is fresh, and not very strong curry smell (like Indian curry). The people are very nice :)

Nice place with a wide spread variety of dishes. You can get Burmese curry‘s as well as pizza. I‘m not a huge fan of such restaurants because I want to taste a foreign cuisine when I‘m abroad but it was recommended to me so I tried it. I was pleasantly surprised about the Burmese curry with chicken, it tasted really delicious. The soup on the other hand (tom kha kai) wasn‘t that great. The ice cream with caramalized cashew nuts was decent but not out of this world. A solid choice with nice staff but on the pricier side for Burmese situations.

Had the Myanmar chicken curry and Massaman curry. Both were very good! This place states that they do not use any MSG in their dishes. Free WiFi is offered but does not work. Overall it’s quite similar to nearby restaurants in that they serve Asian, western, and local cuisine.

Nice and cosy place, especially when it becomes dark (as the garden outside is decorated with many candles). Food was great, fresh and staff been very friendly!

This restaurant was recommended by our guide. It seems impressive with the decor styled after the temples in Bagan. The food is slightly more expensive than the others in the area but the food portions are Huge! I wish the servers told us the portions here are bigger so we didn't over order and waste food. They don't have any set meals here unfortunately so it's either dishes plus rice or you order something simple like fried noodles or rice. 3 stars as despite the better ambience the food isn't that much better than other shops. Service is excellent though and staff are attentive. Do give this place a try

Nice restaurant near the town center in Bagan. Lots of space, many tables and 7 kind young woman are waiting to help you. The food is good, very tasteful and combined with the rice plenty to keep you going for a while. However the place is not special and we felt like a number, in contrast to other places we've visited. Could do for a bit more personal attention and care, especially since the woman appeared to be waiting in line for most of their time. Food 5/5, service 3/5. Good place to eat, with room for improvement.

For the price you’re paying it’s not that great... food was super oily and the taste wasn’t that great... staffs weren’t that friendly and they didn’t seem to know the menu well. Won’t really recommend as there are better places around. If you’re going for the vibe here then you’d probably like it as it’s got nice decor

Unfortunately I could not finish half of the food. When I got back to my hotel I did not feel well and I had pain all night. I don’t blame the cat who decided to join me for my meal. Food tasted artificial. The waitresses were nice but getting pain after dinner is never a nice experience

Came here twice to have fried rice and fried noodle , First time here ordered chicken fried rice and Thai chicken fried noodles, fried rice were good, so fried noodles is , portion were big too. Second visit here, ordered chicken fried rice only. Portion were small this time. And oily too, requested to be done in less oil, guess they misunderstood.

We wanted to order chicken rice where chicken and rice are separated. When it came we were surprised that everything was mixed in the same dish. It was sort of like the Chinese version of ‘mui fan’. Surprisingly, the dish was tasty, we could finish the dish.

The best Roasted duck in region. Better fresher than Yangon restaurant. Reasonable price. I will definitely come back for roasted duck. Half duck cost 8000 kyats only.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. The food selection and quality is great with a number of vegan choices if you feel that way inclined. We dropped in a number of times during our stay and there was always something on the menu at lunch and dinner that we enjoyed. They have a great happy hour for cocktails and quite the cocktail menu too!

Excellent restaurant. Very good located, great service and of course, delicious food. Here I tried the best hamburger of my life. I had the opportunity of talking with the owner of the place who was the inventor of this delicious dish. The bread of the hamburger has a green color due to green tea leaves, the most original thing I have seen in a hamburger. It also contains avocado, pineapple, cheese and you can choose between beef and chicken. All of the ingredients mixed together in a perfect flavor. I got so delightful that I ate the hamburger three times. Very delicious and original!

Great place, the staff is great and the atmosphere is pretty good. The food is good, and if your looking for a great place to relax this is definitely one. The prices are reasonable if your on holiday, as a backpacker maybe not so much🙈 You will see a lot of tourist here, so if your looking for some western it’s definitely the place. The menu is great they have a bit of everything! I would definitely recommend the chicken curry! Best in town👌

Mediocre food (more for westerners' taste buds), small portion (not for big groups) and expensive pricing. Burger buns were burnt. A lot of houseflies. They did very well on the potato soup and tea leaf salad.

Amazing. A must while in Bagan! My wife and I dined here in January 2020. The tea leaf salad is amazing — one of the better ones we had in all of Myanmar. The curry was better than what we could find on Yangon. Service was excellent. Restaurant is well priced and atmosphere is romantic. Only complaint is that bathrooms could have been nicer and closer. Definitely stop by!

I was surprise at the quality of the food. Possibly the best and only western food I have eaten there. It was quality ingredients with tad bit of burmese touch. They put white sesame in the guacamole spread for the nachos, which gave it a light and nice fragrance. The BLAT burger as well as chicken teriyaki burgers were well done too.

Great food! Great staff! Highly recommend this place. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up eating here twice! The second time around the staff saw me swatting at a mosquito and offered me some repellent spray - very kind of them and not something I've experienced at other restaurants.

This family run restaurant is a hidden gem for sure. I spend 6 months working here and my wife and I enjoy this restaurant the most. Prices are awesome and the food is even better. My favourite is the tomato peanut curry. My wife loves their fresh mango juice and guacamole with papadum.

We have been here twice due to the delicious food and the wonderful atmosphere in this family-run restaurant. The mango-coconut lassie was the best lassie I ever had. I highly recommend to try the Tomato-Peanut curry and the Golden Pumpkin-Ginger Soup.

Great service at Yar Pyi. We ordered the avocado salad, peanut tomato curry (somewhat like the satay sauce in Singapore), coconut rice and mango lassi. Everything was fantastic; the total bill was 11,000 kyats. They also served a complimentary fruit salad before we left.

Nice and friendly owner, tasty vegan foods with a good price. They also provided free fruit and tamarind sweet as dessert which is so kind and warm. Highly recommend.

Must try dishes are the coconut rice and local guacamole with homemade papadums. Hosts are really nice. Only marginal let down is their Curry’s are a little watery but the veg inside is very fresh and the restaurant is very clean.

We ate here twice because the food was so good. We especially recommend the banana springrolls, Mango/coconut lassi and tomato peanut and pumpkin curry with the coconut rice! But the best off all is the warmwelcoming of the family how runs this restaurant.

Well, it might not be 100% fair to judge a whole restaurant after trying just 2 dishes out of a whole menu, but we left the place rather disappointed. Prices are what they are (on the expensive side, it's Bagan after all...) but they are clearly displayed so that's up to you whether or not you want to spend that money (beware, tax/service is not included, nor mentioned anywhete for what I know...). Settings are very pleasant, and whether you come with your partner or your whole family they will accommodate you. We were served in 45min, not fast, but absolutely acceptable we thought. The issue for us was the food (quite important for a restaurant though...). I wouldn't give it more than 2 stars, we had a vegetable kurma which was just okay-ish and a mutter paneer which was simply taste-less (and therefore probably the worst I have ever had). 1 spoon of it each with my wife was enough to decide we would leave it aside. They were almost true to their "no good - no pay" statement, only 50% of that dish was charged. We will not come back.

Nice outdoor garden with relaxing atmosphere. Food was good and the carrot juice was surprisingly good. Beware if you tried phubbing your smartphone while waiting for the dishes to come...the owner will come and stop that by asking you to talk to each other!

I got the chicken masala curry. The chicken had a strange texture, a little more like a soggy fried tofu. The order came with 8 free side dishes which was a nice surprise. Sweet lassi was good. Good vibe in the garden.

Amazing Indian food!! Friendly staff and a very friendly owner. We just waited 10-15 minutes. You need to go to Aroma 2 and try the vegetarian dishes (korma and paneer). Enjoy!

Indian restaurant where you can tell the owner and staff cares a lot. They serve only Indien food. Which is positive. The food was fine. Not too spicy and they serve different sauces so you can spice it yourself. I would though prefer that they spiced it a bit more. The restaurant was nice and cozy, but I have had better Indien food other places in town and in Myanmar why i only give three stars. The restaurant also have a very touristy feel.

Friendly host, good Indian food, especially the Naan breads. Could've been perfect if the rice was better. Nice touch with the seven homemade dips that the owner presents with much pride.

Restaurant for a good cause - this is the main reason why we followed our guidebook's suggestion. This restaurant provides high end catering training to local youth trying to improve their situation. The whole thing works well - restaurant and service are western standard. Good choices of plates (especially if you are fed up with fried noodles and other very common plates). Starters were excellent, mains were lacking a bit of flavour. Overall very pricey (most expensive meal we had in Myanmar).

Fantastic food with brilliant service, a small bit more expensive than other local restaurants though the funds go to a great cause. Indoor and outdoor seating, with a wide bar selection. The tamarind daiquiri was very refreshing! Would highly recommend.

Amazing food. We chose the Lahpet Thoke - salad. Pakors - watercress and onion. Burmese Lentil Curry. Burmese Style Pork curry. Staff were fantastic with very good English. Prices are extremely good even for alcohol a glass of wine (Sth African) was about $5US. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately so disappointed... The service was good and everyone did their best to provide a good service. I think we just got the kitchen staff in a really bad day (Monday night) or we maybe ordered bad options. Because all the food we had was so disappointing. Drinks, My wife had a tamarind juice that was actually really nice, I had a beer that unfortunately was not cold enough. Appetizer Watercress & Onion Pakora, was the best item of the night. Salads Charred Eggplant Salad, was too oily and under seasoned and the bread that came with it was old and dried. Fresh Ginger & Double Fried Crunchy, had so much ginger that was just too overpowering and impossible to eat it all. Mains Shan Khauk Swe, breaks my heart. Had so many great shan noodles, it was overcooked and just not appealing. Tasted like dried pasta from a box. Bottle Gourd with Chicken Country Style, bland and sad... 😕 Went to the trouble of writing this all because I truly appreciate the project of the restaurant and I would come back to support it. But the current reviews just didn't represent our experience.

Sanon is a training restaurant which helps underprivileged Burmese people get back on their feet - it's a really important and good cause. The prices are a little high for Myanmar, but I think it's worth it, to know that your money is going somewhere useful. The mains are more reasonable than the desserts. The food is good. I had the fishcake, which was a little dry but packed with flavour. The pulled duck salad was delicious, but cold. We splurged on desserts, 7000 kyat for a cheesecake. It was so amazingly good it was practically obscene - I'd definitely recommend it! The staff were very friendly, but still need to smooth a few things out. Nothing big though, I'd still definitely go again.

Always the best place to dine contemporary Burmese fusion food and have cocktails. A bit pricy, but it’s worth it because chefs, managers, students (yes it’s a culinary school too) come to greet and talk about the food. They are busy at coming up with new recipe.

The name Italian restaurant made me wanna get into the restaurant, because had Burmese food most of the time. The environment is great; paintings are hung on the walls, tables and dishes are clean, cool music playing . Staffs are nice. The problems is the foos. It's pricey compared to other restaurants around despite the poor quality of the food. I ordered roasted beef and a signature menu of the restaurant which disappointed me. Drink was not great but was acceptable. The restaurant will not allow you to wash hand inside/ separate basin, rather in a toilet basin. These hygiene problem is also one of my complaint, hope they could fix in next time.

Great found in Bagan. We came back twice! Good food, great service. We had too much of Burmese food the whole trip so we decided to have Italian food instead and we didn’t feel regret after all!

This restaurant is perfect, if you want to have some Italian food. The restaurant is run by a very friendly Italian lady. She tries to get the best ingredients for a authentic kitchen. She is also making the mozzarella by herself! The pizza was very good (brick oven). Also they serve fresh and homemade pasta, which was delicious. You should definitely try the chocolate cake for dessert!

Very clean place, the waitress was helpful and kind, I was sitting outside so not sure for the music, lighting and the table were great. It's definitely pricier than other places but the quality of the food is great. You can have salads and entrees for under 7000ks, which are enough for someone who doesn't eat much, or main dish for 12-14000ks. Drinks go for 2000-5000, the yogurt is good too. 100% recommended.

Was there for lunch. There is indoor and outdoor sitting. You can relaxed under the big tree. Tea leaf salad taste good. The pasta was mediocre and avoid taking the Hawaiian pizza. The fried chicken and fried rice is really good. Toilets condition are good.

This place was packed when the neighbours were empty. The balloon guys that stay at Umbra was eating here and they are around long enough to get a good view of what's good and what's not. Two sections - plastic chairs next to the road and wooden on the upper deck. Your choice...

Wood oven pizza in Myanmar. Best I have had in Asia. Obviously don't expect the kind of pizza you will gave in Italy but it's really decent. It's quite expensive but when you fancy a bit of western food this is a good place to come for a meal. Napoletana was 7800kyat, juice 2200kyat.

After months in SEA, we wanted something different than noodles, rice or soup. So, there always a good reason to enjoy a Pizza. The menu offers around 15 Pizze, mostly around 10000 Mmk. Pizza are cook in a Wood-Fired oven, which gives this lovely taste. The pizze are thin-crust, and tasty. However, I found the prices quite high for the area : 11800 for a Bacon Pizza, 1600 for a small can of Coke. This appears to be the price for such a touristy place.

I ordered the signature menu but that was too salty and tuna’s smell was too strong(I can’t taste other food ingredients). The price is a little bit expensive then other restaurants (coke was 1600ks). But if you order other pizzas maybe they might be nice.

Visited La Pizza for a little bit of a break from SE Asia food. Pizzas are reasonably priced from 7000 to 13000 kyat. They are wood-fired and thin crust. We chose the Margherita and Pescatora and both were delicious. Two pizzas filled our very hungry stomachs. Nice patio area in the back as well.

We ordered Margarita Pizza. It was good. Not the best. Staff is very kind. The place is good decorated with good atmosphere. Prices are a little higher than the rest of the zone. But it's ok if you are tired of Burmese food.

For around 10 bucks or 10k MMK, this pizza is so fresh and delicious. You should try one when u get here.

I said hello on arrival and the two staff didn’t respond. The view is awesome. I had a beer for 4500 which is 2000 next to my hotel. The views are awesome particularly from the lower level which is not open right now. I feel the summary should be “need to try harder” particularly as there are so few tourists.

Very nice spot to view the river and enjoy some local food. Setup for tourist, but clean and tidy with great views of the river. The drinks are good and the food is a great way to experience local flavours in a tourist friendly environment. Restrooms are clean. We went as part of a tour group - and there are a few going through the place - but you can easily turn up on your own and enjoy a very good meal at very reasonable prices.

The Sunset Garden is one of the best restaurants in Bagan, situated at the Ayarwaddy River bank near New Bagan. The guests can see very beautiful sunset from the tables of that restaurant. The restaurants is set up in local style but it is an attraction for international tourists. Normally it is busy with tourists in the high season.

We can't rate the food but it's the perfect place to sip a beer, a juice or a cocktail watching the sunset, they have a huge terrass with the perfect view towards the river. It's a nice alternative from the crowded spots where groups of tourists sit in the dirt loudly commenting the view to each others in their respective languages.

Great place to see sunset with nice ambience but food is very average and expensive. Would highly recommend to go see sunset on Irrawaddy river and have drinks. There are better dining places in New Bagan

Nice restaurant with a beautiful view. Would have been the best spot to go to a few years ago, but now there are lots of similar restaurants popping up along the river bank! The prices are reasonable, but pricey compared to some other nice restaurants in Bagan. You pay for the lovely view!

Went here for lunch. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff is very polite. The restaurant serves burmese, thai and western dishes. We had some fried spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce which were delicious! Main course we had pork curry and shan noodle i did not care so much for those. Too little taste - the meat could have been more tender, the curry more spicy and the noodles more firm.

Probably the best Shan noodles I ate in Myanmar! A little spicy and very tasty. They served a free soup together with the noodles. The pineapple juice was also good and refreshing :) The waiter speaks very good English and recommended us a good place for viewing the sunset in Bangan. Price was very fair.

Good food and excellent service. Leo's is priced reasonably compared to the nearby Bamboo. We ordered the tempura to start - which was great, then for mains we had fish and beef which were really nice as well but the portions were small and the dishes were nothing special. If you're in Bagan for a few days then definitely check this place out

One of the best places to eat some Burmese cousine. We liked it very much, especially the owner, who is such a lovely person! Very honest and kind. Dishes were great - we were also told what is now the best in menu, what is worth to try. Top of the tops in our Myanmar trip!

Service was fine (e.g., manager/owner came over to ask how everything was) and decor is nice and clean. Food is not really worth the money you'll spend considering the other options nearby. Portions are small, like the 3 morsels of chicken in the curry, and the potato roll appetizer which, while tasty, basically amounted to about 10 potato chips. Also the "prawn" curry turned out to just be shrimp. Nothing would be considered bad... Just not really that great.

While we were not the biggest fan of the tofu salad, I'd still give this place 5/5 rating for good homely local food. We didn't know the tofu in tofu salad would be raw, probably would have been nicer if it was fried. Still good though, but portions were incredibly huge and generous. Ordered the fish curry too. Pretty cheap affordable local food, off the back of someone's house.

Very nice family cafe with good prices. But this is not enough to be good! Disadvantages: 1. Very, very, very dirty! The glass for beer was stained in clay and something else I prefer to forgrt... I asked to replace, but owner just smiled broadly, said "sorry, sorry" and returned the same glass wiped with a dirty rag. 2. You can wait for the order up to 40 minutes! 3. The food is very oily! Curry is 90% of oil and you can not feel the taste. 4. Soups are not delicious! Do not take!

Worst lunch in bagan. They treat as dogs. The food was completely tasteless. After we order carbonara and club sandwich they said they don’t have bacon. We have to wait like 5 minutes for the menu. The bill was 20500 and they charge me 25000 because y was paying with usd$.

With this twist, this restaurant serves some amazing local food and the service is great too. Gulp down your fish curry with some cold Myanmar beer and you won't regret it.

Very nice restaurant. Good food, local and other food. The lady was very friendly and helpful, spoke decent English. They are very grateful for customers and it showed in their service. Tourists are far and few between currently so they will appreciate customers, we are visiting from USA and wish we found this on our first day in bagan and not the last day or we would have eaten here every day for lunch. Stayed in New Bagan for four days. I was so pleased to find this restaurant. If you are in New Bagan area, you must go to try out this restaurant. The restaurant opened this year. When you walk in the restaurant, Tartar, the owner, already makes you feel like a friend. She told us the restaurant is catering to tourist, so all the food are washed with distilled water. No worry about clean water issue. Also, unlike some other restaurants, she bought fresh fruits every morning. The juice and smoothie were fresh and delicious. I like the salad and the curry dishes. I tried a few places, but end up visiting this restaurant every day for the last three days during the stay. The staff were very friendly. The atmosphere is very nice and price is very reasonable also. Worth visiting! I definitely go visit again next time when I’m back.

A must visit, if you are in New Bagan..tasty food at a good price and griendly staff aside "where all the tourists go". For each taste you have something there and you are for a change asked if you want sugar added (instead of assuming you want). The traditional dishes are definately worth going there.

It is my first time writing a review and I must say that dining in Elodie Restaurant is a delightful experience! Visiting Bagan last week, me and my boyfriend headed to Elodie for dinner. The atmosphere was really nice and the food was lovely- it was tastyyy! Moreover, as we finished dining, the lady was so nice that she asked about our dining experience and at last offered us to try the fried banana with honey and it was sweet and yummy! Definitely worth a visit when you visit New Bagan!

My favourite place in Bagan so far! Delicious food: cashew chicken, papaya salad and the green curry is highly recommended! Tatá was a very sweet woman with us and we want to come back!!!!

We loved this place, ate here every day (often twice) during our 5-day stay in New Bagan. The family took great care of us, the dishes are huge and great for sharing, we ate vegetarian and they hooked us up with plentiful veggies and nutrition. Loved the soup (off-menu), fried rice, salads and tempura especially. Very few other restaurants were open (December 2024), but of all that we tried, Delicious was our favorite. The prices also were so reasonable, and the family were very friendly and gracious hosts. Thank you for the wonderful food and memories!

I came here cos of the good reviews.I had the red Thai curry, kimchi fried rice and the vegetable tempura. And I need to say it was not really my taste. I would like to give the food for the taste just ⭐️⭐️⭐️, but for the price you paying for, it’s ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. To be honest I had just these 3 dishes, they have a huge a Lunt of different food, so maybe that is even more better.

Lives up to its name! We had very few options as we were traveling during rainy season and may have been the only tourist. We stumbled upon this restaurant that had loads of options for a really great value. We loved everything we ordered and ate here every night during our 3 day stay in Bagan.

they served a variety of cuisine, from local Myanmar food to western food n other Asian food. Ordered a fried rice, curry pork n tea leaf salad as well as fruit juices. good tasty food served in decent portions. it's my first time having myanmar tea leaf salad n it was an "taste" opening to me. nut allergy warning please. however it has a very nice crunch to it. overall, good experience eating this n I don't mind to eat it again. edit : they served tamarind candies at the end of the mail, it tasted very good!

My friend and I got food poisoning and diarrhea from this place, Ostello Bello has this restaurant as their “food delivery” place… be careful. We ordered chicken friend rice and that was enough to set us back two days, go somewhere else!

The food was yummy and got many choice with good price, which could be fit for all tourist from all over the world. Came here after sunset for dinner. Kyaw kitchen offers international food with standard. Ordered a seafood risotto and myanmar green tea which was refreshing.

Roadside outdoor seating under the trees was nice. Fast service ( I was the only Sunday lunchtime customer). Concise menu of pizza and pasta. The chicken mushroom pizza was rather bland even after I added the chillies, salt and pepper supplied. Rather expensive too. Only canned drinks as juices not available due to power failures. Ok.

Pizza was so fast and delicious. We ordered three pizzas: Margeritta, Rucolla, and seafood ones (kinda forgot the name because a bit difficult to remember). Margeritta came first and delicious with a thin dough. Then the second came: Rucolla, it was just the same with Margeritta but with additional cheese, fresh tomatoes and leaves. Last one, the seafood was good, but all pizza was having the same base like Margeritta. So it feels like having three same pizza but only different toppings. Range price is 7,000 Kyat to 12,000 Kyat.

Just had a VERY decent pizza here tonight. (I could not countenance yet another night of Myanmar salty fried noodles.) It is real Naples-style, wood stove baked (see photo) and uncut. Mine had green olives, anchovies, and garlic. Good flavor, crispy crust. Also, liked very much that they provided chili oil (olio piccante) as they do in Italy ... I would never had thought to ask for it in Myanmar! Price of Kyat 7.700 fairly amazing, considering the location. It was definitely meal sized. Menu offers only pizza and a few very simple salads.

Nice pizza and a decent size. Just be aware that it is more pricey than TripAdvisor would have you believe (most pizzas between 12 and 13000 kyat).

10% tax is not included in the menu prices unlike at all other places in Bagan. The pizza is good but rather pricey.

An excellent pizzeria! The pizzas here are genuine oven baked, thin crust Italian pizza. I was surprised at how quick the service was and how good the pizzas were. A good olace to bring your date too. Only complaint is that it is pretty expensive compared to most other places and definitely focuses on catering to the foreign tourist crowd. Would eat here again.

9000Ks for a pizza? Are you crazy? We had a delicious pizza at Black Rose for 5000. These are tasty, so it's not a total ripoff. But you can certainly find better prices elsewhere. Oh, and they deliver.

The best food I had in Myanmar so far! This family run restaurant is the best choice in Nyaung-U. Awesome tasty Nepal, Indian, Thai, Burmese and vegetable food; their lamb masala curry is the best! Just as it was written here already - it is not oily as the rest of Burmese restaurants, and they even declare that they use mineral water for washing vegetables. And they have perfect drinks also - I had whisky with fresh pineapple juice for just 1500 kyat! Just note that there are no proper toilets, and the Turkish one is quite far away.

Popular place with tourists but unfortunately the food let's the place down - being Indian and having grown up there I can safely say what wonderful tasty is serving as the Indian thali is not Indian food at all - it's way too salty (same goes for the Myanmar thali) and not the right flavours. Service unfortunately is the other big let down - the staff are all incredibly friendly and courteous but orders are routinely forgotten (we noticed this happening across a few tables) and the food takes 30-40 minutes to arrive which is fine if your whole order arrived in one go. Overall there's too much choice around and this is another over hyped TripAdvisor joint

Walked into this restaurant for lunch. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Shop was relatively clean. Prices were decent and slightly cheaper than some other restaurants in the area. Food was good except for the sweet and sour pork I had. I'm not sure why it was super gamey, I really couldn't stomach it and decided to not eat it. The rest of the meal was pleasant. We had their home made ice cream. We tried 5 flavours. Vanilla, chocolate, rum n raisins, manggo and coconut. Personally in order of preference coconut,vanilla mango, rum and lastly chocolate.

Reasonably priced food with good selection of different cuisines. The names of dishes sound familiar but the cooking style is not. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes. Still tasted OK. Desserts are good. Seating is out in the open but separated from main road by a small garden. There is an inner seating area but all areas are without air-conditioning. Evenings are cool enough though.

Only came here and tried their Rum Raisin ice cream (1,000 Kyat). It was too sweet. Not my liking, and the owner was not too friendly eventhough the waiter and waitresses are all friendly. Not sure if I want to come back and try their other dishes.

Nice cosy restaurant with reasonably priced meals. They serve traditional Burmese dishes and some indian fare as well. It is located on the mail road between new and old Bagan which makes it ideal for a quick lunch while exploring the sights.

Food = Great Service = acceptable But one thing I do not accept is the fact that I left my sunglasses on the table, and returned to get them. I knew this was the only place they could be so I asked the staff and he said no as soon as I asked, so I looked at where I was sitting. Nothing. Then I asked another staff member ‘no’ she says and then finally I asked what I think was the owner in which she said no too. I then proceeded to tell them that this is the only place they could be and 5 minutes later the staff member magically appears from the kitchen with my sunglasses. Coincidence? I think not. Go here as long as you’re sure you have everything when you leave.

Best Food i had in bagan during 6 days! The chapati with curry is just amazing! Prices are cheap for bagan and it's definitely worth it!

The Chapati with chicken was good but it's way overpriced for the quantity of food you get. The tea leaf salad was the worst we have eaten so far. Fried potatoes were good but again a really small portion for the price you pay. If they would cut their prices in half or double the quantities it would be a different story. To finish on a more positive note: the place has a nice atmosphere.

Good atmosphere and service but average food. To be an Indian restaurant they only have 5 Indian dishes on the menu. The chicken/beef came in very tiny small pieces. Price was okay. I don't understand why this has 4.5 score review. I'd give 3.5 stars but I can't :)

Probably the best restaurant in Bagan ! The food is amazing ! The staff is so friendly and professional. The food itself is prepared from scratch at the order and everything tastes delicious. Shout out to the hot and sour soup, the red and green currys and the (not very local but still amazing) chicken burger, executed to perfection ! Just walk the extra two minutes and avoid those loud and busy restaurant on the main street, this is the place !

TS Bagan is the best place for a meal in the area! A bit off the beaten track, but it definitely adds charm to this place. The service is very friendly, obliging, happy to help you choose the best dish, even the most demanding person. As for the kitchen itself - PHENOMENAL. I heartily recommend and if I ever have the opportunity to return to these areas, I will not hesitate and go to TS Bagan for food. Good luck!

We stumbled upon TS Bagan Restaurant as it was conveniently located near our hotel in Bagan. They had the best Burmese chicken curry I've had in Myanmar! They provide complimentary purified drinking water - thus not contributing to the overuse of plastic bottles - and great service, my glass was never empty. The restaurant provides a pleasant atmosphere on a quiet street. Added bonus - TS is a really nice guy!

Amazing food and staff, highly reccomend this place. Very genuine family run restaurant, we stayed at lux pillow hostel and came here for lunch and dinner because it was so good! The lentil soup, fried vegetable noodles and chocolate pancakes were delicious! Better value than other restauarants around, Lots of vegetarian options too, very relaxed and chilled atmosphere, we'll worth a visit :)

Looking for a backpacker bar in Bagan then this is the spot. Drinks are marginally cheaper than other places and the staff are friendly. Located just off the main strip it's worth a visit if you're looking to grab a beverage and meet new people. Foods available as well and seems reasonably priced for the area.

This was my favourite place to hang out for a drink and enjoy shisha in Bagan. Super friendly service and cool atmosphere. All of the British expats catch up here so there is always an electric buzz in the air. The shisha is the best you’ll get in the area

Good food. Been 2 nights in a row. Happy hour from 5:30-7:00 on Rum and Whisky Sour. Avocado Dip very good, Caesar Salad good, and Beer at normal tourist prices in Bagan. You will find pretty much only tourists here.

Great place! It is the only sports bar in town and a relaxing place to spend the evening. Food is good and consistent with lots of options. I live in Bagan for a few months at a time so the Hti is a staple for entertainment, social company and good food. I’m mostly a veggy eater so my favourite is their falafel as well as the nachos!

Great happy hour here. Drinks were small yet tasty and local and exceedingly cheap. The food was okay. If you want something good and local food-wise, this is probably not the spot, as it's frequented almost entirely by Westerners, and in particular, Brits. The service is fine, if a bit shy.

We’ve been away from home (London) for a while now and the only thing we’ve craved for is a good Indian. This isn’t comparable to our Indian restaurants back home but it was very good and very much sated our appetite for an Indian meal. Portions were good and we enjoyed every dish apart from the mutton rogan ghosh. The service is standard local hospitality, there’s absolutely no atmosphere in the restaurant but I though it was reasonably priced and therefore would return and would recommend. Note - we asked for super spicy and still it was medium for us.

I am giving 5 stars for the hospitality shown to me by the staff there.Having visited their yangon branch which I found to be very satisfactory, I decided to visit their bagan branch too.The place is cozy and the parotas I had ordered were soft and hot and the curd provided was fresh and good too. The price on the menu are very reasonable and so is the quality of food.

The food is incredible! There were a bunch of Indian tourists eating here too, all raving about the food. Their samosas are some of the best I've eaten anywhere.

Came here because of previous reviews and close distance from Hotel Arthawk. The food are tasty, of good portion, and at good price. If you order Myanmar dishes, you get free rice and side dishes. The peanuts and fruit plate are also free of charge. We came back once more.

The food's ok, quite friendly staff. Chicken curry and beef curry was good. Tea leaf and watercress salad, and chilly. Wash it all down with a cold Myanmar beer! Nyaam! The prices are a bit expensive though.

Went there to check out the sunset. Great view and decent service if it is not busy. Cost is higher than most places in new Bagan but I guess you're paying a premium for the location and view. A big bottle of Myanmar beer is 4000 kyat. I wasn't even offered a food menu.

This was FRIED vegetables and steamed fish. Vegetables were steamed instead of fried and fish was 30% raw and cleaned bad. Price is very high, quality is low. But the view is good. And finally total price was 50% discounted. So they listen to clients.

This restaurant offers a picturesque view of sunset at the Irrawaddy River. However, the price is expensive (I believe that all riverside restaurants are expensive). The food I had was not the best and the table we had our meal on was uneven. Nevertheless, it is recommended to come here once and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

I and my boyfriend enjoyed lots of food like avocado salad, sweet & sour potatoes, and sweet & sour chicken, tomato salad... at this restaurant. The owners and the staff were very friendly and polite. We also found a good massage place through a recommendation from the owner. We were grateful for that. Good restaurant should try.

Really good that we went for dinner twice. Family owned restaurant and the staff are really nice. Standard pricing for Bagan/Nyuang-U, and the food is good and the portions are huge! After our meal the lady gave us a plate of chopped up mangoes for free which was very sweet of her. Recommended

Delicious food! Our entire party of 4 wiped our plates clean. It is definitely locals approved! Wide variety of entree options including Chinese, Thai, and Burmese cuisines. We will be coming back soon!

I went there twice. Here is my experience: Seaweed and ginger salads are very good, recommended. The lime juice was not saturated, I did not go for it a second time. On my first visit, I took a vegetarian curry made up of three small plates, and it was excellent. The second time I decided to try chicken curry, and I was disappointed - the chicken was not tasty, and all the dishes except rice and soup were cold. 3 stars.

Food is delicious. We ordered one dish and received 7 plates with side dishes. Myanmar style curry and several salads are in menu - everything is very good.

Friendly place. Just a few dishes. Veggie curry (2000 Kyat), meat curry (3000 Kyat) and some different salads (1000 Kyat). We had the veggie curry and fruit juices. The food looked nice, but was not hot nor tasteful, since there was no sauce on. We might were just unlucky today. Seems like the place is usually better.

Authentic Burmese food. Cheap prices. Small menu with primarily curry as the choice. Food wasn't 100% warm but still tasted good. Your curry comes with a selection of small eggplant, white beans, tomato, potato, tofu, pumpkin and green beans. We were also given a free soup appetiser.

Google did not lead me astray! After a hot morning of temple hopping - I stopped by Ma Mae Naing for delicious river fish curry and the amazing seasonal veggie dishes! The owners were super friendly and nice, offering me refills on rice and veggies (which I declined since I was so full!) Very reasonably priced and the perfect lunch spot!

Restaurant with Western options on a busy street. The burger was definitely one of the top top burgers I've tried in Asia. Meat was juicy, something close to medium cooked. Egg yoke was still liquidy. Yum. Fries a bit soggy but coleslaw awesome. Recommended if you wanna take a break from local food.

Excellent family restaurant. The staff is extremely nice. We had a veg coconut curry and a Thai soup : both super yummy and tasty. Definitely a must go if in Bagan! I don't understand why there not too many people in the restaurant, while it is the only one with a truly local atmosphere (good decoration, the whole family seems to be there for you, it's good and simple, free banana after your dish and green tea as a welcoming drink).

Family restaurant, everyone is really kind and smiling. Food is so goooood, we came there almost every day during our stay. Sweet & sour chicken is fabulous. Free fruits for dessert! And prices are reasonable. Would deserve to be a lot more famous. 100% recommended!

A lovely restaurant with very friendly owners. After 32 hours of bus travel, a simple breakfast of eggs, fried potatoes and rice was just what I needed. I was also given free tea with my meal, and a banana after. Great choice for Bagan

Nice cool place for lunch. Charged tourists 5000kyats per pax. Quite an assorted varieties of traditional Burmese dishes in small portions and raw fresh vegetables to be eaten with some paste or sauces. Make sure you test out the spiciness of some side dishes. The rice and dishes are replenished upon request with no extra charge. The cost does not include drinks.

The myanmar buffet here is really delicious and worth it. There are chicken, pork, mutton and many other side dishes. The soup is really nice too. The juice is 1000. Quite cheap and tasty. All are fresh and the juices are good as well but sugarcane juice tastes bad. It looked brown and the taste is strange. There are flies which are quite annoying so be careful about it. Except that, I love this restaurant. The buffet for one person is 4000 kyats and for a kid is 2500.

Had a bad experience. Most of the food was cold (while it shouldnt have, like rice), the meat was obviously low quality with bones and fat, everything had some awful fermented taste... Could be that Burmese food is not my thing, but I enjoyed some local dishes elsewhere so I assume it has something to do with how they cook it there. I ended up tasting everything but eating very little, and left the restaurant hungry. I wouldn't recommend.

Good to try different kind of Burmese food in a buffet style with the price of just 5000 kyat per head. The best lime juice I have had in Myanmar!

Told my guide not to bring me to a 'farang place' that serves every type of cuisine in the world ;), so he brought me to this traditional Burmese restaurant in Old Bagan, which serves the traditional Burmese set, which is composed of over 15 dishes (4 curries of chicken, pork, fish and mutton, and assortment of pickled vegetables) for only 5000 kyat!!! I ate all the curries; the pork was my favorite. Left this restaurant very full. Best place to sample Burmese cuisine. Although I wasn't the only farang in the place, you can see it is 95% locals and full during lunch time. Always a good sign.

Myanmar Buffet restaurant. Five main courses mutton curry, chicken curry (Kyat Butee), pork curry, fried chicken and fried fish (Nga Gyin). Lots of side dishes around ten items. Taste is good. But the location is a bit dusty. Normally crowded and have to wait to be seated. Only 4000 Kyats for adults and 3000 Kyats for kid.

Waiter cannot speak English. We wait for steamed fish long time more the 20 minutes. We drank 2 beers and still not come. However, after I get the food, the taste is fine. For the language, I use google translate to communicate that is no problem anymore.

Really nice restaurant. We weren't super hungry but wanted to eat before our bus ride so we ordered the thick veggie soup (#7) and I got a watermelon smoothie. The soup was a little oily but it had cauliflower, beans, carrots, red beans, onions and some other leaves. The smoothie was nice. Very quick service and it was fun to watch the soccer and handball games happening across the road.

Underwhelmed. Got the special - curry prawns with a carrot salad - and an order of fried noodles. It was one of the more expensive meals we've had in Myanmar and one of the more disappointing. The portions were small - the prawn curry consisted of two prawns in a small bowl with some heavily stewed vegetables and a small portion of rice. The noodles were quite greasy and overcooked. I'd give this place a pass: there are others that serve better food at better prices.

Great restaurant where you can find delicious and variety of food and drinks which are perfect for dining. They have fair prices but the atmosphere was noisy and I doubt you would get privacy which is normal in this certain place and time. I have been at this place for the fourth time because I really enjoy the food here. I recommend this restaurant if you want to have food and drinks that will fill your stomach on a budget!!!

Really solid food. Like all the restaurants around, they essentially serve everything from western food to Chinese to local which always make me a bit skeptical. But everything we had was delicious - caprese salad, pork and mushroom / cauliflower, and mixed vegetables. Draft beer is available too. Can't beat the price!

It is a lively restaurant with a much stronger east/southeastern asian patronage. That to us makes it completely worth the time. Food is great. Service is prompt. BBQ has plenty of choice.

Didn't fit my conception of the food. Avocado salad was avocado tossed in Salt and pepper. Pumpkin soup was pumpkin boiled and mashed in water, no sieving.

A nice multicuisine restaurant in New Bagan with friendly staff. The prices start from 5000 MYK and go up to over 20,000 MYK for lunch or dinner for a single person. The roasted turkey was good but a few pieces were tough and chewy. The decor and ambience is also very nice but the restaurant in on a main street and hence noisy.

The place is an open air restaurant not connected to any hotel. It’s clean. It mainly caters to tourists and its pricing reflects this. However, it’s quality is comparable to local places. The fish is over cooked, serving options are Large and Small. Small isn’t good for one person. The noodles are over seasoned with pepper and the drinks are more expensive than most hotels in the area. Starters are between $1.50-$3 Main dishes $4 for small dish serving to $12 for large serving. They have taster sets with themes at higher prices. Cocktails are $7.50 and up. If you want a good meal for a good price, head down the main road into the center of town. If you want better quality, try your hotel restaurant.

A nice Burmese restaurant that’s away from the main road, hence the air was not dusty or riddled with vehicular noise. This restaurant had a separate area for watching Burmese folk show. We ordered beef & chicken curries and a plate of stir fried vegetables. Food was very tasty. We were also pleasantly surprised when they served us with a plate of fruits & some tamarind sweets. Servers were also very nice and polite.

Food was nice. Prices were resonable. The prawns were chunky and cooked well. The squid was a bit chewy though. The veg tempura was really nice, carrot juice was fresh. Cards are accepted for payment. We were the first to arrive, as soon as we walked in the staff switched the Aircon. While waiting for food and dinning the electricity went off a few times but this is common problem in the area, it also happened in our hotel. Toilets were clean. Anyhow, the staff was friendly, the food was nice and the place was nice and clean.

I don't understand the good ratings, as for us everything went wrong that could possibly go wrong. The ambience is nice but there it ends. A/C is running constantly although it's quite chilly on a late December evening. The staff speaks little English and delivered wrong information about one of the dishes (soya tofu that tasted like rubber instead of Burmese chickpea tofu). We found a long hair in the fried rice. The other dishes were much too oily, the potatoes half raw, the bamboo was a bit too strong (maybe too old). Then they brought us the wrong bill, which was 4 times higher than the stuff we ordered. Tax and service charge on top of the bill although I didn't see any info about that in the menu. What a disappointment.

I rarely gave bad recommendations. Although this restaurant has a lot of space and nice atmosphere, the side dishes and soup are not fresh at all and smelly. If not improved their services and dishes, should not try this restaurant at all.

The curries are really nice. Especially the sour watermelon curry. I really love it. The staff are helpful and attentive. It's Myanmar buffet and quite cheap (I don't remember the price though.)

I had a pork curry and the portion was so small I had to go somewhere else after to get food just to fill me up. Also 50% of the meat was either fat or skin so I really didn't enjoy it. Honestly the best thing was the beer. For the price of the restaurant I expected much more. Definitely wouldn't come back here again.

One of the best meals I've had in Myanmar so far. The chef is passionate about his food and if you have the pleasure of eating here you will see the care that goes into each dish. He was unable to provide a dessert on the menu so made me a white wine dessert called a "sabayon" which was amazing and could easily be served at a fine-dining restaurant in the west. Coffee was also excellent.

Fantastic food in a gem of a restaurant located slightly away from the main road in New Bagan. I went with a group and managed to try a variety of dishes - all of which were cooked to perfection. Top choices include their hot and sour soup, beef peppercorn steak, honey pork loin, spicy fried rice, and Myanmar red wine. Service was excellent, prices extremely reasonable and the owner was very helpful. Will definitely be visiting again!

That was one of the best 'western' diner we've had in Myanmar. The spaghetti Bolognese and also the steak with black pepper sauce with potatoes and vegetables were delicious! In fact, it's a bit more expensive than other restaurants but for us, it was totally worth it. Would come back any time, especially when we like to eat something different than asian food.

This restaurant in New Bagan is a true gem. My husband and I wanted to give it a try after reading some good reviews and were completely blown away. The cooking is beyond anything we tasted elsewhere in Myanmar and, quite frankly, at a truly Michelin-star standard. We had the porkloin in a honey sauce that was absolutely fantastic as well as a fish that again tasted like nothing else. The creme brulee for dessert was also very very impressive. Please all go support this talented chef who is keen to share his passion, along with the rest of his super friendly staff. Worth doing a short tuk-tuk or taxi ride from old Bagan or Nyang-U to have dinner there. Vanessa + Christophe

Lovely french and Asian influenced restaurant which, unfortunately, you might miss unless you happen to be walking past! Naratheinkha is just a little further than Sun Beam away from the main road in New bagan. Menu is manageably small, food is excellent (pasta especially good, chips just OK), and service friendly. Overall excellent value and more fun (and tasty) than most of the westerner-focused mediocrity on the main road.

My best gastronomic experience in Myanmar! And it happened to be one of the cheapest ones as well. At a lovely setting with views of pagodas, beautiful at sun light during the day and gorgeous when illuminated at night. The food was fenomenal. If I could I would hire the chef to be my private cook home in New York. The owner is a travel guide and he speaks fantastic English, had I known I would had booked him to be my guide. Most of local guides have basic English.

The Village House is a true gem in Burma. Naing Lin, made us feel very welcome and truly cares about being a wonderful host, and the freshness and flavour of the food was wonderful. The attention to detail in the venue was wonderful, all the greenery and the care on the plants and garden was beautiful to see. It was a true oasis, in a long day of scooter driving and temple spotting. A true gem and one of my fondest memories of Myanmar.

Best restaurant we had in the whole Bagan area during the week. The food was way better than the busy restaurants in NyaungU, although a bit further away from the city, this is the place to go if you have a chance to stop by this small village. The atmosphere is wonderful. Food, view, quiet place, superb service in the place all contributes to a 5 star restaurant. Definitely worth coming again and again.

We selected this place for lunch mid way through our long bicycle ride, and we really happy we did. The food is excellent, the menu has a mix of Burmese, Thai & Chinese food. Our Burmese curry and ginger salad were delicious! Loved my ginger hot tea also. The staff and service was excellent; spoke good English. We enjoyed the conversation with the owner. The quality of the restaurant itself was good. The outlook across the grass to some nearby stupas is relaxing and interesting. This is a rare find - not overrun by tourists, and with excellent food.

Great staff, great view, great food and staff very friendly. We asked where we can get some cigarettes but one of the staff gave us 2 cigarettes for free. By best food experience in bagan. (They have mutton :) )

It looked as an beautiful place and staff was good, only were the prices quite high, even for Bagan standards (2200K for an can of coke). The food was nice, and decent, but not special for the price you had to pay.

Leider hatte ich nach dem Besuch und einem Hühner Curry starke Magen-Darm Probleme, so das ich einen Tag auf dem Hotelzimmer bleiben musste. Das ist mir auf der ganzen Reise an keinem Streetfood Stand oder in anderen Restaurants passiert. Deshalb kann ich das Restaurant leider nicht empfehlen, auch wenn es vielleicht ein unglückliche Ausnahme war. Schade..

The italian food is really good for that it is cooked by a Burmese chef. The service is good, the people are friendly. The prices are fair. There is free Wifi available. You can choose out of European, Chinese and Burmese food. So you get three different cards. There is also a breakfast card available. The waiters are really attending. You will sit under a roof but on the sides it is open. So you get fresh air. You can watch the streetlife. On the ceiling there are some fans.

Wonderful place, great location, the only thing I would suggest the hotel to improve is the breakfast. If you like eggs or Asian breakfast it's no problem. But if you want a continental style breakfast, none of the food is fresh. That's to say the bread or pastries aren't fresh and don't taste great. Lunch and dinner are fine but overpriced so we always had great lunch, better lunch actually and dinner, not far from the hotel. Other than that it's a great hotel!

This lodge is a wonderful and peaceful place to stay in Bagan. It offers big and well furnished rooms and here too the bathroom is worth an extra comment as it is perfectly done the way it’s arranged and designed. The restaurant offers food of good quality and the staff does its best in fulfilling the wishes of the guests. The swimming pools are nicely integrated in the gardens of the lodge. And I also want to mention the garden. It’s impressively diverse and simply beautiful. The feeling to be at Bagan Lodge is similar as if you‘d be somewhere in Africa on a safari. It‘s breath taking.

Great hotel and staff, definitely another level of accommodation and quality compared to other properties I had the misfortune of trying in the area. Spacious rooms with plenty of windows and big patio, immaculately clean (rare in Myanmar!), great staff who can actually speak English and answer your questions (also rare in Myanmar!). Lovely hotel grounds with curated gardens, 2 big swimming pools and most importantly very quiet for a relaxing stay. Highly recommended!

Our three nights stay was part of our honeymoon travel and it was an excellent experience. We had a very warm welcome and enjoyed top quality services such as dinner in the restaurant. People from the staff is very kind, they are constantly wishing to help and provide a very comfortable relation with the hotel itself.

We had a very pleasant two day stay here. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel grounds were beautiful and the staff very professional and kind! A lovely romantic break for my husband and me.

My boyfriend and I booked 10 days at Bagan Lodge. The beautiful scenery, and the staff really made our experience here worthwhile. Special acknowledgement to the Morning restaurant Supervisor (she is fantastic), Thein the chef, and Chan Myae the table waiter, and the night manager of the hotel. Amazing hard working people! The facilities are clean and organized. We had a lovely spa experience with experienced staff. They went above and beyond to provide us with daily snacks as a little surprise in our hotel room; small touches such as these made our experience here great. Excellent housekeeping. Happy Hour 2 for 1 was a nice perk! The breakfast had a nice range and was better than any other Myanmar breakfast we had. The only cons would be: overpriced costs to rent a ebike scooter (Rent from Nyo Nyo a few minutes away instead); Book tours outside of the hotel because transport and guides end up being much more expensive through the hotel. The laundry prices were also ridiculously overpriced. However, If we come back to Bagan, this is where we will stay because we had an overall subperb experience! :)

This restaurant is super exciting. It looks like any other restaurant in Bagan, it gets only few customers a day, it's super cheap and it serves amazing food that an unrecognized genius cooks. I feel privileged to have had her wonderful food!

Went to Food Affair restaurant as it was well rated (4,7). So we were confident. Obviously, it doesn’t deserve such good ratings! Afterwards, we checked other reviews and have seen exactly that other people experienced the same !!! We arrived at the restaurant and we were the only ones. We ordered three Pad Thai Chicken and one Chicken Sweet and Sour. Easy right ?! It took 48 minutes to get them!!! And honestly, don’t think we got chicken ! So, we do not recommend that place.

An amazing culinary experience. We couldn't expect such amazing chef. It is different from the excellent food we used to find in the good restaurants in Myanmar. She is beyond that , beyond many of the Italian (my origin country) and Spanish (where I live) restaurants where I am used to go. There is a difference between cooking well, properly and what is prepared with so much art that you are literally delighted, exited just tasting it. Do not be mislead, it is simple food from a very simple and local place. But there lie the difference: raising the cooking standards is extremely challenging in traditional cultures!!!. We ordered the best tomato salad ever (must), Tom yum soup (spicy, perfect for my taste), fish curry (amazing, just be careful with the green chili), garlic bread (just some simple bread fried with toasted garlic, nice), lentils soup (delicate, less spicy).

I would recommend this restaurant for tourists who are traveling in Bagan. Thai food, especially Tom yum with prawn, is very yummy as if I eat in my country, Thailand. The owner is very kind and friendly. I really love her smile. Of course, the price is very reasonable comparing to others. She also gives me for free plate of rice when I order more because I'm not full due to delicious foods!!!

Coming here for lunch! The view is very nice and you can enjoy the food or drink with this wonderful and peaceful view of Bagan. However, so far they didn’t take card card and the price of the food is a bit pricy so make sure you bring enough cash. We order 3 dishes with rice and 3 drinks, total price is 34560 local money. Friendly staff and toilet is seated style. Free WiFi.

The view of the restuarant was very beautiful during sunset. Food wasntnthat good. Ordered the BBQ chicken, the chicken was served very cold. They don't even BBQ the chicken and just take out from the fridge and serve. Terrible. Both noodles were too oily. Only the grilled fish and vegetables are decent.

The view is fantastic. Squash tempura (buthee Kyaw) is organically grown on the beach right in front. It’s delicious with the tamarind sauce dip. Stuffed Potato Cutlets were great with beer. Braised fish filets with tamarind garlic sauce is their signature dish and a must try.

Great view for sunset, but drinks are not good enough

Nice place for a sundowner. During low season you might have the place to yourself. Beers are slightly more expensive at 4000 kyat. But the view from the patio area was excellent.

The restaurant is old and non-airconditioned, and located on a small cliff overlooking the river. Sweltering hot during the noon time. The view is not interesting as the calm river stretches over the flat sand banks. Food is below par, fruit juices are prepared without much thought. This restaurant's main objective is probably to serve tour groups for a quick meal.

We tried to drive in to go for lunch and were stopped at the entrance arch and told we had to pay an entrance fee to go further. We explained we wanted to eat lunch at the restaurant and they still were demanding an entrance fee so we went to a different restaurant in the area.

Expensive ! But great food. Was highly recommended. The local alchohol infused beef & river fried fish were both delicious.

Best food in New Bagan. Comparatively more expensive than other restaurants but still only 6-7000MMK for main dishes and portions are larger than most other places. Small room with A/C also a plus on hot afternoons.

The food was very good. Authentic Bagan food served by a very helpful and friendly staff. There is a separate smoking area on the first floor for those that partake. The quantity and quality of the food were impressive.

Foods are normal, but not very good tasty. Too much oil and too much local style , very nice wooden teak house . Too much airconditioned. Restaurant is just for wooden hous .

The building is lovely and the food was quite nice- good sized portions! However, for the price there are far better options in the area.
