Two decades before when we were student of Johnstone school we bunk class and spend time in the museum and smoking weeds now it’s totally changed looks lot more better than before.

This is the biggest MUSEUM in Manipur however it not much satisfied as compared to others museum around the country. No camera/phone permitted inside the hall. Tickets details are shown in the photos

Must visit place in Manipur. It has very beautiful collection of aquatic animals specimen. The art gallery is wonderful. Archeological gallery have good collection. One can easily spend 1-2hr there. Mobile and camera not allowed inside,so you cannot photograph inside.

A very beautiful historic place inside the imphal city. Used to be the place where the palace of king used to be there and later the bungalow of British officers. The place is a good option for a relaxed walk and cycling. For visitors they have a paid battery car option also. In case you need a guide you will have to pay extra. I liked the place for its cleanliness and greenery.

Inside the fort there are beautiful Temples and ponds apart from museum. Very neat and clean complex. One hour required to explore the entire fort. Photography is allowed. The surrounding area of the war cemetry Imphal is poorly maintained and during rain there is stagnation of water ,the fencing is overgrown with weeds and shrubs the trees are also not trimmed and growing wild

A historical place and an important venue for the city of Imphal. But this place is very poorly maintained by the city administration. The waterfall inside the campus need serious cleaning and the park remains dirty.

It is quite place to rest for all people who come to Imphal. This place is very nearby to market of Manipur such as Nupi keithel, kwairembel market. Many youngster are come here to have there meeting or data at free of course. Many old people come here to take rest from hot. It is very nice and beautiful place.

Situated right at the center of the BT park, this minar or tower was built in commemoration of prince Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal general. Located right at the center of the hustling and bustling Imphal city, you can catch a glimpse of the busy Imphal from the park— maddening crowd of the city and people rushing here and there. The auto stand is right at the backside of the park. The park is open to the public. No entry fees. Nearby attraction — Polo ground, museum and Kangla fort. Nearby shopping areas — Paona Bazaar, Gambhir Singh Arcade and Ema keithel. However, with things littered here and there, this park lacks maintenance. Public should also cooperate and keep this park clean.

A good light evening kind of park. Grass area is there to sit and some static water is there. Avoid that water. Good place for photography. There is a stadium right next to this place.

This is a MUST visit place in Imphal city. If you want to know the history of Manipur, India and life of people in British India through art, paintings and photos, this is the museum for it! You can opt for a guide who explains every painted picture in detail. There is no photography allowed inside. You will be mesmerized by the miniature art. You won't believe your eyes! The artist, R K Buddimanta is a genius in art. Put this in your "Places to vist" list when you're in the Imphal city.

This art gallery takes you in the past of Manipur. It exhibits the paintings from the artist family, with royal lineage. There are paintings from the Historic events of Manipur, some local legends and folklores and also some pieces of modern abstract art. The paintings on the shells and match boxes and dried leaves are just extra ordinary! I highly recommend the visit to this place when you visit Imphal.

Whoever have visited this place would certainly erupt a desire to paint, whether or not he/she loved this art before. Every beholder would amaze how such paitings can be resulted from those brushes. Every peice is drawn from the right perspective telling stories without using a single word. The history of Manipur is also neatly woven with colourful scenes. Every canvas is tantalizing. Even more impressive is what RKCS did on color boxes, shells, leaves, glass bottles leaving no left-over from his activity... And you don't need to buy a ticket to see all these. Instead there is a donation box if you wish to contribute, and an entry-book where u can jot down your name and address, and feedback, if any. Must visit in Imphal to see beautiful paintings narrating the history of Manipur.

A must place to visit in Imphal. The history and culture of manipur is portrayed beautifully in displayed paintings. Being a tourist, I learnt a lot visiting here. It also inspired me to focus on art works

Photography is prohibited so couldnot have pictures. But it is assured that even a non artlover would enjoy the place overall. For a artlover, this place is PARADISE. Sir. RKCS's son (also a reknowned artist) was present when we entered. He showed us all the paintings and more on that he explained the scene depictions of every painting he and his late father created. Its a place worth visiting ...

So disappointed. It was shown open in Google and I booked a cab and brought my friends who came from Meghalaya to tour Manipur. A woman told it's open we can go inside and see.. even a young gentleman told us it's open and when we enter an elderly man looks like an artist.. I assum him as RKCS's son (not sure) told us to go and come back later.. the attitude shown was too bad we felt Seriously bad for that..and most importantly I feel shy infront of my friends. It looks like we can enter and see the gallery easily...but yesterday there was no other visitor so I feel the elderly man doesn't want to get up from his chair and open the door for us . That seems to be very clear to me insist by the woman's and the young man's words to us. So sorry for my review and disappointment. We four came with hope and excitement. No hard feelings. 👍👎

Good place for children. Area is big and houses a variety of animals, mostly which are native to Manipur. The Zoo authority could increase a few more variety of species. Ticket cost ₹30 for adults and ₹20 for children as of May 2024. It has small children park as well. Mondays closed.

Conservative mindset of rare life is so adorable to us. It's the one and only one native Zoological garden which is located at Iroishemba in Manipur.

The only upgrade since my last visit* to the zoo were only the footpath and some addition of animal species i suppose(last visit* = when i was in my kindergarten and now I've graduated in engg. 😅) The living condition and infrastructure for the Beautiful, Amazing, Marvellous, Stunning animals could be improved and renovated I believe, since they're brought out from their natural habitat and they deserve it. The experience inside seemed so dry and the animal bio written, were almost unreadable. Honestly I'd be sad and depressed if was among the caged species there.

6 kms to west of Imphal city, at the foot of the pine growing hillocks at Iroisemba on the Imphal-Kanchup Road are the Zoological Gardens. Not to be missed is an opportunity to see the graceful brow antlered deer (Sangai) one of the rarest species in the world, in sylvan surroundings.

Just a simple zoo... Not well maintained... Lacking proper care of animals and their cages... Don't expect much...

This art gallery is unique in Imphal. It's pretty far from Kangla fort, which is the heart of the Imphal city. It is run by a private household. You can donate money. It's in the interior and there's no board in front of the house. There is just a sign board showing in which road it is. You can hardly spend 10 to 15 minutes there. If you have a limited time to tour around Imphal, you can choose to exclude visiting this place.

A small room inside a house settlement that displays the remarkable creativity of Shri Shyam Sunder Sharma. The sculptures are only for display and the artist is unavailable, but his creativity is visible in his masterpieces. The wood sculptures-incluwing idols of Gods, Devil figurines and imaginary recreations of fictitious, mythological creatures. A must visit in Imphal.

Speachless beauty, how one man can do all these

A quick google search for things to do in Imphal and just the description on google of this place piqued my interest and I found my way to the gallery. Extraordinary talent and detailed craftsmanship are small words to explain the wooden sculptures in the gallery. Difficult to locate as they do not have a board outside but well worth the search and time.

These sculptures belong in a collection of priceless exhibits but have sadly been cast away to slow destitution.. these sculptures depict Manipuri folklore in an abstraction uncommon in religious art. . an absolute must visit in Imphal!!!!

Only all women market. Mainly clothing, fish, fruits available. Less to no dress available for males. No dress for kids. Vendors not trying to sell items and very unhelpful. It's almost like they don't want to make sales. Doesn't live up to the hype

There are so many shops and huge stock of Manipuri Mekhlas starting from ₹550. We have purchased 7 Mekhlas after bargaining. Great place for shopping.

Mother's market with shops run by women. Everything available under one roof. Worth checking out the canework bags and the Phaneks.

The market is divided into three main sections: Leimarel Shidabi Ima (Purana Bazaar), Emoinu Ima Keithel (Laxmi Bazaar), and Phouibee Ima Keithel (New Market). Each section specializes in various goods, from traditional handloom textiles and handicrafts to fresh produce and household items.

This is the all women market of Imphal where you can find day to day life goods starting from their traditional clothes to veges to jewellery to dried fish etc. Even they have small restaurant over their where you can find manipuri thali in very low price. The market opens around 8:30 am and closes around 6:30pm to 7pm. Overall if you want to see the daily life or know about their culture it's a must place to visit.

The only place run by Ima’s (Mothers/Ladies). This is located in Manipur a very beautiful states. You will get all varieties in this market. This Market is known through the world & a walk through this market will tell you a lot about Manipur’s way of life. If you visit Manipur it is a must visit place. And yes, you can definitely bargain for a better rate for anything you buy

Cheirao Ching is a hidden gem that beautifully merges nature, tradition, and spirituality. It’s a must-visit for those looking to understand Manipuri culture or simply enjoy a peaceful hike with sweeping views. With a bit more care and conservation, this sacred hill could become a model for sustainable cultural tourism.

One the best place for hiking and feel the nature with fresh air in an around greater Imphal.

It's the highest point within the Imphal city. There are two peaks where you can climb and enjoy the view. There are wide stairs leading to the top. You can see many people climbing it especially on weekends. It's a good workout climbing both the peaks and your fitness will improve if done regularly. The view from the top is really beautiful, when I visited I could see rain falling in some parts of Imphal city while there was no rain on the other side of the city. You can also notice school kids with their fitness instructors climbing the two hill top peaks, even families going there to have a good time with each other. If you go there early in the morning then the sunrise is really beautiful to watch. There is a parking space below before the climb starts, parking is available for both four wheeler and two wheeler. It would look more beautiful if they could plant a few flowers along the way.

You can view Imphal from these two view points , it's fun to climb the staris, well maintained. The locals come here in the evening for walks, most of them running while we could barely walk the steep stairs.

We reached the viewpoint before sunrise and witnessed the beautiful sunrise. It was surreal to experience something so peaceful and beautiful at the same time. Totally recommend everyone to visit the place. Witness the sunrise and be grateful for the view. Attached photos are December pics.

We can access easily upto the top as we can drive up to the kaiku park by vehicles, from that park to the first top view point it's around 600 metres, once you reach that view point you will relieve from everything by seeing the scenic beauty of Imphal valley and the nearby hills.

Good Football and cricket ground just beside Horse pony Farm

Great place for a walk! Ask the people there if they would give pony rides to you for a greater experience.

It is a beautiful playground at Lamphelpat most suitable ground for the game of Polo and the other outdoor games.

Nice place to visit if you don't have anything else to do. Friendly people to have a chat and learn about Polo.

This place is full of amazing places to visit and one can really enjoy and have a memorable trip. This place is also famous for pilgrimage tours and one such famous temple is Sanamahi Kiyong. This place has great significance and people from different states comes to visit this temple with great faith. The Sanamahi Kiyong Temple at Nongmaijing Hills, Imphal East is the abode of Lainingthou Sanamahi, the ancient deity of the Meitei. It is a centre of the followers of Sanamahism in the State of Manipur. The temple attracts religious tourists from other meiteis residing in the other north eastern states and also by others from communities like Kabui and Zeliangrong residing in Manipur, Myanmar, Assam, Tripura and Bangladesh. A special prayer service or arti is held at the temple every morning and evening while Sagalchham, a weekly prayer service is performed every Tuesday. The best time to visit this temple is when the annual festival of Manipur Cheiraoba is celebrated with great cultural pomp. The temple also celebrates another annual festival, known as Honjnungha, during the month of September. Whenever you are planning to visit Imphal don’t forget to visit here.

During our visit to Kangla Fort recently and even on earlier visit I was told that Sanamahi faith is a powerful faith in Manipur society and the Temple inside the Fort is clean, beautiful and magnificently white. Good to get a chance to visit it.

The worship place is said to have been constructed from 16th Jan, 1884 and reconstructed during the reign of king Kulachandra (the last sovereign king of Manipur) in 1891 AD. Lord Sanamahi is the household deity of Manipur. Sanamahi Laining/Faith is practiced in Manipur, Assam and Tripura by some - Meiteis Kabuis, Koms, Purums, Kukis, Chothes, Zeliangrongs. Weekly worship ceremonies in the Shanglen are performed on Tuesdays.

This is a historic place of Imphal, Manipur. This memorial is in memories of British ruled India where the women of Manipur started agitation against the British government for increasing the price of rice in the state which were acquired by the British government from the state's paddy field. A few women were shot dead during the fight with the sepoy in this place, so the name becomes Nupilal Memorial. Here Nupi means "Women" and "Lal" means War. This is a very adorable place for everybody. Located near the Babupara General Post Office, Imphal.

A small and beautiful airport in the capital city of the North-East Indian state of Manipur which is now renamed as Bir Tikendrajit International Airport (formerly known as Tulihal Intentional Airport). It is the second largest and third busiest airport in the North-East India. This airport is located only 7 kms away from the city centre of Imphal. Regular Flight services to Kolkata (multiple flights a day), Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Shillong, Agartala, Aizwal and other cities are available from this airport. International flights to and from Mandalay were scheduled from May 2023, but due to the ethnic conflict that erupted earlier on 3rd May, 2023 in Manipur, the service didn't start. Recent installation of new ILS and DVOR/DME with increased accuracy and reliability has improved safety of air navigation and minimised disruption in the air services at the Imphal Airport.

Eco Historical Park located besides historic pond Ningthem Pukhri (Ningthem Pukhri , Address: Wangkhei, Imphal east, Manipur 795005, Coordinate: 24°47'56''N 93°57'16''E, 4031m2, this pond was dug during great famine of 1724-25.), stood cleanly lonely the Eco Historical Park. Eco Historical Park is small constructed by Maharaja Garibaniwaj Memorial (MGM) Club on 8th December 2010, dedicated to the people of Manipur, later Ningthem pukhri Imphal Eco Tourism Park Complex development works taken by MDS under tourism works sanctioned in the year 2013-14. It is very refreshing to sit looking at the scenic beauty of the place. The place is easily accessible from Wangkhei kongba road and ayangpalli road. All sides of this pond is free spacious parking lot. One can find many restaurants near the place. Better to roam on the periphery of this pond in the evening for recreation and in the morning for a walk. It is quite spectacular look at it during Emoinu iratpa (worshiping) day wakching 12 panba of every year on this day one must have witnessed roadside stalls fully shone by candles lighting and designer lightings with heavily crowded from afternoon to very late night. Anyway this is a good place for recreation you can hang out with family and friends.

It is an average garden with not enough biodiversity as the name says so. However, still it a garden to go for teens to spend sometime in huts and children to play. Only if it falls by your way when you drive, you can give it a try.

Langthabal Konung, located near Imphal in the Indian state of Manipur, holds historical significance and is known for its scenic beauty and rich cultural heritage. Langthabal is a small hillside area that offers picturesque views of the surrounding landscapes, including paddy fields and the distant hills that encircle the valley of Imphal.Historically, Langthabal was a place of importance during the reign of Maharaja Gambhir Singh in the 19th century, who played a pivotal role in the history of Manipur, particularly in the context of the Anglo-Manipuri relations and the consolidation of the kingdom. It's around 6km away from Imphal on the Indo-Myanmar road. A view of manipur university from there takes one to a pleasant scene of the sprawling academic complexes.

This is a wonderful experience on its own. Can't describe the feeling in words. I was getting goosebumps looking at everything over there. This place is the 1st headquarters to the Indian National Army. The last pic of Netaji is also there and for sometime I couldn't take my eyes off that pic. Sharing some glimpses of the place.

- I recommend every citizen and specially youth to visit. How a Individual person from did a lot by alone, not doubt people support him. He visited all alone to many countries, meet formal authorities, make deals, created own army and lots. - We can watch here routs of his visit, his army INA, Photos, belongings etc.

A nice place for Netaji Shubash Chandra Bose memory. This place contains all the old pics. Also there is a last pic of Netaji coming out from the aeroplane in Japan before his death. A big size statue of the same has been erected inside this war museum. A must visit place if you want to see and learn a brief history of Myanmar annexation of Imphal and Kohima.

A fascinating piece of Indian history comes alive here. Apart from being the first place to hoist the Indian flag in 1944 in Indian Peninsula (First place was in Islands of Andaman and Nicobar in 1943). The museum has guns and artifacts used from WW2 and memorabilia of uprising led by Netaji. It also has a very intresting and detailed map of how he travelled over land and sea, prior to his untimely demise. A small entrance fee will get you in. No photographs allowed inside and the place is maintained in excellent order, a must visit for every patriot and history buff!

There are so many shops and huge stock of Manipuri Mekhlas starting from ₹550. We have purchased 7 Mekhlas after bargaining. Great place for shopping.

The market is divided into three main sections: Leimarel Shidabi Ima (Purana Bazaar), Emoinu Ima Keithel (Laxmi Bazaar), and Phouibee Ima Keithel (New Market). Each section specializes in various goods, from traditional handloom textiles and handicrafts to fresh produce and household items.

This is the all women market of Imphal where you can find day to day life goods starting from their traditional clothes to veges to jewellery to dried fish etc. Even they have small restaurant over their where you can find manipuri thali in very low price. The market opens around 8:30 am and closes around 6:30pm to 7pm. Overall if you want to see the daily life or know about their culture it's a must place to visit.

In this place (Maibam Lokpa Ching) The war Memorial is Constructed. It is constructed by Japan Government in Collaboration of Indian Government for there is a peace among the two Countries (India and Japan) it was constructed on 20th Match 1994 after the world war. Thia is the place where one can remember the war and thinking the importance of peace in one among.. The place is Easy to find, a flexible place. Pay a visit!😇

This place is dedicated to the martyrs of the INA in the war against the British. Place is well maintained, informative with ample documents, artefacts, photos, images, models on displays.

Peaceful place, though we went in wrong time and didn't see any orchid, we also couldn't find a said route that they say is here which will take you all the way up top to have a view of imphal river, but overall a good place, friendly gov staff, 5/5

The place is too moist that there are lots of small insects and bugs and mosquitoes too. None of the green house is working. It looks so dead. Only if proper renovations and care were taken then the place is really Great which is located not far from the main town

It's a really nice place. Can hear the insects. Proper walking path. It was not the blooming season so I will try visiting again next time. They can always do better but I wonder if they have the resources.

Being a nature freak, this place has all the vibes going on. Just a few kilometres away from the city. The narrow and rustic pathways leading to deep and dense forest filled with orchids of multiple kinds hanging wildly from the trees surely will captivate your eye. This place, I have to say it's unexplored and has many surprises, you'll figure that out later once you pay a visit. A small side note, it's a plastic free zone, so I highly recommend to be appreciative and contribute to maintain the couth for the sake of our environment. Have a great time visiting! 💚

This orchid yard of the forest department on the national highway No. 39. About 7 km from Imphal towards the north is another place of floral interest. A large varieties of orchids including several rare species are maintained there.Peak season is April-May.

Totally wastage of govt property and resources by forest department. This place can be a great project for students and point of attraction for general public but no take care of place. These are the activities which leads govt institutions towards privatisation.

I want to give zero stars but I can't do I gave one star because they d on't want to clean the place, did not trim the grass and said they will take 300rs charges for sitting in the huts (on top of the 120rs fee for entry), the hut has cracks on the floor, don't get cleaned, no extra value to gain from renting. This is one of the best place if you are looking to waste your money I highly recommend you look for other places.

Taking 300 charges for sitting in the hut beside taking 50 ticket prize per adult and do not supply appropriate Vehicle parking and still taking charges .. worst garden ever .. i won't visit again !!!!

This garden sell a bar chocolate(kit-kat) of Rs 35(MRP) in Rs 50 . There are two different tickets for Entry(130,inclusive two wheeler parking charge) and Sitting (when you want seat and occupied a hut) .The 2nd charges was let to know only when we were about to seat .Apparently, when you don't buy any fast food while inside,you must give 300 Rs as sitting charges. And Last but not the least,They do not handle us the printed ticket . Khwai dei chaokhattb ,jugot chadb mina semba policy sijinnaba mfmni, Please don't visit !!⛔️ I do not reccomend this place. Lawai Macha ....3rd class people work here

If you want to visit this place you will need excess amount of money for entry will charge per person 50 rupees and for sitting will charge 300 per hut but if you don't pay 300 you won't be allowed to sit anywhere you can roam for 50 rupees and water bottle MRP 10 RUPEES will be charged 15 such a greedy place

I have had a bad experience here. I paid ₹ 100/ - for ₹ 20/- Lays Potato Chips and ₹ 20/- 1 litre package drinking water. Eatables are very costly in Kombirei Garden. Since, then I never visited this place again. I wish Google have -ve Star.

It's ridiculous, they charge 300 for sitting charge and every things here are extremely costly. There is nothing sold on MRP here. Seems like running a manipuri Restaurant here at this garden.

Location is accurate. Sekta Mound also known as 'Sekta Kei' is a protected archaeological site. The historic hotspot is located at Sekta village, about 16Kms from Imphal in Imphal-Ukhrul Road. It is a place where evidence of the practice of secondary burial was discovered. Thr site was jointly excavated by the Archaeological survey of India and the state archaeologists.

we can find the tallest flowering plant there the Sambanlei Sekpil .I heard that it is planted by a man in his home and that becomes the so called Sambanlei. Looking forward to visit it and if happen I will upload pictures.

Sambal-Lei Sekpil is the world's tallest topiary. Created by Moirangthem Okendra Kumbi, it is modelled in the shape of a series of open umbrellas and spheres.

There is no "sambanlei sekpil" now. A storm broke the sambanlei tree.

Now it has been dead. There is nothing so hype or see about this place.

Quality and professional artwork on exhibit. Unique experience, away from the city noises and buzz, good apportunity for people for all age groups to visit. Nice to see a gallery of this caliber opening up in Imphal.

Peaceful and relaxing environment.I went to see the group art exhibition and had a wonderful time. Also had a chat with the event organisers over at the gallery, very cooperative and polite staff. Looking forward to visit in the future exhibitions

Entrance is only Rs 20/person. Room is little small but has mind blowing cliche arts.
