The Avignon Grand Hôtel is a bright and airy accommodation option in the heart of Avignon. The hotel offers a range of rooms and suites, all equipped with free Wi-Fi. Guests can opt for breakfast and take advantage of the outdoor pool during their stay. Despite its convenient location, some guests have reported issues such as mosquito infestations in their rooms, which were not adequately addressed by the staff.
This was steps from the central train station and walking distance to all the important Avignon restaurants and sites. We got a two room suite with TV in bedroom and living room. THe bed was superbly comfortable and the towels were luxurious and big. My husband got his shower and I got a lovely bathtub. Everything about the hotel is amazing. We did not have the breakfast because we just weren't hungry enough for that lavish spread but we should have! Fabulous in every way!!
Annie N — Google review
The room had a strong smell of mildew/mold which was almost unbearable. We brought scents to distract from it, but I would never stay here again. Also, the carpets were stains, the shower had mildew all over, and the bathrooms were not entirely clean. The rooms on the front of the hotel were also noisy
Sarah C — Google review
First of all, this is most definitely NOT a 4-star hotel. Some rooms will only have portable A/C that requires that you leave the balcony doors/window wide open throughout the night if you want cool air, not to mention bringing in hot air, dust, and mosquitoes. The hallways are damp and smell musty, the furnitures are very worn down and the breakfast is one of the worst I've seen - worse than Holiday Inns I've been to in the U.S. While there are some employees that are competent and professional, a vast majority of the employees (including the cleaning staff in particular) would not even say hello when you pass by them and your eyes meet (or even when you say hello first). In fact, they actually yelled at my father for going into his own room for trying to retrieve something he left inside - he hadn't checked out at that point and literally went back in 5 minutes after he left. Amenities are 2- or 3-star level in U.S. standards, and again no A/C near or in the bathrooms. Filled water bottles are only complimentary upon check-in, and not provided on a daily basis like you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. If you're using their family suite, be warned that a majority of these rooms seem to be two-floor units and you don't have a choice as to whether you get one with or without the stairs. We were on a family trip where two of the family members happened to have foot injuries - while they switched one of the rooms, they refused to make any accommodations for the second room. The stairs themselves are poorly secured to the wall and present a safety hazard. Two people ended up sleeping on the couch because we couldn't access the second floor with ease. Plus, if you have suitcases you will never be able to bring them upstairs, foot injury or not. Location-wise, this is next to the train station so it could be convenient for some, but it's not very close to the Avignon old city center. All in all, I would highly discourage any of my friends from staying at this hotel. The hardship/fatigue we experienced during our stay here had a lasting effect on the rest of our trip and honestly ruined Avignon for me. Not sure if I'd ever come back, but even if I do, I'll be sure to rule this one out.
Janice K — Google review
Went on a family vacation. Do make sure not to request a duplex “suite”. As you can see, if you want AC, this is the state of the room on the second floor of the suite. Windows wide open for AC to operate. Definitely not a 4 star. We also mentioned we had injured individuals that cannot use the second floor, and was told they had no rooms so deal with it essentially. Note that we stayed 3 days there… not even an offer to switch during any of the days. The staircases were rattling and squeaking (see video) for reference. Location was excellent. If you want a place that is close but outside the walls of Avignon and a nearby parking area, go for it. Personally don’t feel the price and hotel rating is justified.
Peter C — Google review
The room was very spacious and clean. Larger than any others we encountered in France. On the night we stayed, it was very hot and the portable A/C struggled to keep the room cool. Otherwise, a great place to stay.
D — Google review
Okay place to stay. Room was clean and hotel was quiet. Located right next to the train station so easy on easy off.
Beth B — Google review
++ The room was large and clean Staff was friendly and helpful (great suggestions on restaurants, bars, city areas to visit, sights) The parking is next door - very convenient The hotel location is amazing, just outside the city walls, very close to the railway station, walking distance to the centre and city sights, very convenient Wifi super Breakfast quite satisfactory — Rooms are a bit dated, could use a renovation We stayed in a superior double room with a garden view - not much of a garden view really and the chairs and table in the garden were quite dirty

Hotel d'Europe is an elegant lodging housed in a historic mansion dating back to 1580, making it one of the oldest hotels in France. Located in the heart of Avignon, this luxury hotel offers views of Palais des Papes and is within walking distance of Pont d'Avignon. The property features antique-filled interiors alongside modern amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, concierge services, and a garden terrace.
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary,. It's right off the TGV in Avignon we stopped as we were heading south, we stayed one night and it was very romantic, very beautiful. The town is a gem and the hotel is as quaint and beautiful as you can imagine..

Disappointing Experience Despite a Charming Setting We stayed at Hotel Europe in Avignon for one night, from April 30th to May 1st. The hotel itself has undeniable charm—an elegant, old-style luxury with a lot of character. Our room was particularly spacious and included a cute little balcony. The location is also excellent: perfectly situated to explore Avignon on foot. However, our overall experience was unfortunately marred by a serious lack of consideration for guests’ comfort. We paid around €460 for the night, expecting a restful and high-end stay. Instead, on the morning of May 1st— a public holiday—we were woken up at 9 a.m. (possibly even earlier) by what can only be described as construction-site noise: loud banging, metal being cut, and heavy machinery sounds. When I opened the window, I could see that the noise was coming from some sort of renovation or construction work within the hotel itself. We eventually got up and decided to check out earlier than planned. During check-out, the receptionist politely asked how our stay had been, and I responded honestly, expressing that it was unacceptable to disturb guests with such intense noise at that hour, especially on a holiday morning. Her response was quite dismissive—she mentioned they were “installing mirrors or something like that”—and proceeded to charge me an additional €26.60 for the use of the parking without acknowledging the inconvenience we experienced. Let me be clear: this complaint is not about the money. It’s about manners and respect for the guest. When a customer points out that their sleep was disturbed by noise caused by the hotel itself, and particularly when that customer is staying at a so-called 5-star property and paying close to €500 per night, the very least you would expect is a gesture of goodwill. Waiving the parking fee or offering a token of apology would have been appropriate and professional. We chose this hotel hoping for a restful and luxurious experience. Instead, I left feeling disappointed and unrested. It’s a pity because the hotel really does have potential. But service matters just as much as style—and this was not the service one should expect from a 5-star establishment.

At Hotel d’Europe, you quickly realize the hype is absolutely deserved. The restaurant delivers an upscale yet approachable dining experience, where refinement never overshadows warmth. The atmosphere is elegant and historic, but never stiff — it feels like the perfect setting for a special meal that’s still inviting and comfortable. The cooking is precise and thoughtful, with dishes that showcase both creativity and classic technique. Service matches the setting: attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. In short, it’s a place where everything comes together seamlessly — food, ambiance, and hospitality — making for a meal that feels truly memorable.
Leo B — Google review
Absolutely perfect 🤩 A place with a fabulous history (Napoleon, Hugo, Hemingway, Piaf…) and heritage a few steps away from the Popes Castle of Avignon. The gastronomic restaurant is a must go to enjoy one of the most refined cuisine in town!! The private and quiet courtyard under the trees is a true gift in the heart of summer, charmed by the delicate sound of the fountain. Some well deserved refreshing peace amid the heat of town…
Beauvais J — Google review
This hotel was built in the 1600s and has a beautiful, welcoming courtyard and offered us excellent service at the front desk and from the valets. We had a superior room, which opened to a quaint courtyard and balcony with seating area. At night we had drinks in the common area but didn’t not try any of the food options. Air conditioning was superb and provided a respite from the warm Provençal sun. My only criticism was that the room was a tiny bit shabby and would benefit from a refurbishing.

Classic and cosy traditional hotel with a soul. Great amd convenient location just inside the city walls, attentive and friendly staff, a beautiful suite with terrace. Perfect.

The Novotel Avignon Centre is a modern 4-star hotel conveniently situated near the Avignon Train Station and just a short walk from the city center. Guests can enjoy comfortable, air-conditioned rooms with amenities such as flat-screen TVs and minibars. The hotel offers an outdoor pool, fitness center, spa, restaurant, and bar for guests to relax and unwind.
We stayed for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Great hotel, lots of facilities including lovely pool area. Comfy beds, clean room, games area and great breakfast. Friendly staff and great location.
Amy A — Google review
Located 5 minutes from train station and across the street from City Walls. 20 minute walk to Popes Palace. Nice size rooms. Ours was supposed to have a sofa and spare bed but had a king sized bed (medium soft foam) and a comfy chair. Some days coffee was left for us, others we had to ask for it. Air conditioning in room was poor (it was close to 40 C). Bath tub is large, so difficult to step into. Pool was jam backed. Huge lobby and dining rooms. Breakfast was repetitive but good. Fresh eggs available to boil yourself. Bacon and sausage barely cooked. Lots of fruit, cheese, etc. All in all adequate but a better place for families than anyone else.
Jamie W — Google review
This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We stayed in a family room for 4, with a large double bed, a single and a pull out bed on the floor. Although not huge, they are reasonably sized and storage is ample. The rooms also had a fridge for storing drinks and snacks. The bathroom has a decent shower with quality products available to use, and a separate toilet. It's location is perfect, our room overlooked the old walls, and it is right next to a tramline. The car park is an underground car park and I believe it was €12-15 for the night as an additional cost. The reception area is open and inviting. We did not use the pool or the restaurant. The drinks in the bar however were a little pricey. I've marked one star down due to drinks costs and also as I felt the male receptionist who greeted us was a little frosty and could have been friendlier, although other family members had a lady before us who they said was wonderfully helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
Maegan K — Google review
Location is perfect for sightseeing. Staff very helpful and friendly. Issue 1: Upon checking in we found another guests pyjamas underneath our pillows. Issue 2: Air-conditioning could never drop the room temperature below 26°C.
Iain D — Google review
Very nice facility with a reasonable bar but a bit of a walk from the old city center.and Palace of the Popes. Also a walk to some of the more local restaurants. It is close to the Avignon Center train station and metro stops and does have all the amenities in the rooms.
Ken B — Google review
I spent but a single night at the Novotel Avignon Centre prior to an early morning train departure, and while I did not have the opportunity to avail myself of the hotel’s full range of offerings, I found it more than adequate for a brief stay. The presence of water dispensers on each floor was a most welcome convenience. The bathroom was impeccably clean and suitably appointed. The hotel enjoys an excellent location, mere steps from the city centre, ideal for my short visit. Only a ten-minute drive from the Avignon TGV station: Overall a well-situated and competently run establishment, entirely fitting for a short sojourn. I should not hesitate to return, should my travels bring me once more to Avignon.
Le M — Google review
Nice and large room, very confortable. A covered parking is available and you are 15’ distance walk from the historical centre. Pity that we had to insist repeated times to have our room cleaned.
Michel R — Google review
We had a terrible breakfast experience due to unmanaged bus loads. This could have been a nice hotel if they did not accept bus loads of tourists in an unmanaged way. The buffet was exhausted, almost empty. Although breakfast staff was doing it's best for cleaning the tables and adding supplies, essential food like bread, cheese and meat slices were missing during the hour that we tried to get some food. I cannot blame the breakfast room staff; the hotel management should be fired and replaced for not managing bus loads properly (e g. by assigning a separate breakfast room for busses). Even then, 4 double-deck busses parked beside the hotel is simply too much! Even the day before, when bus tourists were less disturbing, the breakfast buffet was not what we expect from a Novotel.

Hotel
Hôtel Mercure Pont d'Avignon Centre is a modern 4-star property located in the heart of Avignon, within walking distance of major attractions like the Pont d'Avignon and the Papal Palace. The hotel offers comfortable rooms with city views, along with amenities such as a cafe/bar, garden courtyard, fitness room, meeting rooms, and secure parking. Guests can indulge in Mediterranean cuisine at the on-site restaurant or relax at the bar's outdoor terrace.
Perfect location, direct access to the Papal Palace. A city parking is near the hotel. Spacious room, comfortable bed, good hot water pressure in the bathroom. Large selection of food for breakfast, including local products. Friendly staff. If there are excursion groups in the hotel, it is better to come for breakfast early, otherwise you may have to wait.
REM70 — Google review
Mostly good, but they booked out our entire floor to a group of young footballers, who were up all night, slamming doors and shouting in the hallway. They could have sent an email to the few guests staying that weekend to advise us, or put us on a different floor. Management overall seems to be lacking. We had four people standing at reception on our arrival, but only one of them could check people in, the rest just standing there doing nothing. Fitness centre is actually just a room with a treadmill and bike, not an actual fitness centre. So don't expect to workout. Location is good enough, a 10-15 min walk to all main streets and restaurants, but very close to popular sightseeing.
Ilya L — Google review
The location is excellent, with the Bridge of Avignon and the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-des-Doms just nearby. The front office staff were very kind and helpful, which made my stay more enjoyable. However, the AC unit in the restroom was not strong enough to use the blow dryer or the hair iron comfortably.
Jeanna L — Google review
Nice room, comfy bed, helpful staff, great location, and there's a cat that hangs out in the lobby! Unfortunately, the air quality is awful. Either the carpets in the rooms have collected too much dust or it's the air coming through the vents, but for a stay of more than a couple nights, be prepared for a sore dry throat and stuffed nose.
Donald S — Google review
A nice stay in Avignon. The hotel is extremely well located for the various sights of Avignon. Staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast spread was very good with many options.
Matthew — Google review
I have written very few reviews, but this hotel deserves one. Very unhappy with our stay here. Here’s why. I forgot two dresses in the closet when we had an early departure. When our tour director notified them the next day, they could not locate either dress. This seems dishonest and unacceptable to me. Where could they have gone? You will not be able to use any blow dryer in the bathroom, as the electrical outlet simply will not work even with the hotel’s provided (Europe wattage)blow dryer. The current is truly for razors only. Highly inconvenient to blow dry my hair outside the bathroom where the only mirror was awkward and nowhere near a table. This situation was so odd (for 2025 in a decent chain hotel) that I asked the front desk who claimed it was a safety issue. I’ve stayed in many historical village convents with more convenient bathrooms. For a hotel that has an attractive lobby and terrace, it was surprising to see a lot of paper trash strewn around the main entry to the hotel. The same trash I saw on day one was still present two days later when we left. I could have easily picked it all up, so why doesn’t the bellman bother to?
Dana B — Google review
The hotel is old and dated and is more akin to a 2* than a 4. Postage size towels of facecloth quality. Poor quality bedding with no closures and a seem down the middle. Both rooms had an issue with the plumbing where the showers turned scaldingly hot and burnt us. Shower heads are not fixed and face toward the walls making showering tricky. Unpleasant smelling incense burning in the corridors. No staff at the breakfast resulting in dirty plates piling up. Not a good option at the price.
Sarah R — Google review
Only redemption was the location. No room service after 7 pm. Parking was not included. Breakfast was not included. Very expensive at 18 e for just an elevated continental breakfast. When showering the water shocks you with blistering hot to freezing cold. NOT HANDICAP accessable.

Hotel de l'Horloge is a 19th-century property located in the heart of Avignon, offering warmly furnished rooms with some featuring terraces. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi and is conveniently situated near Rue de la Republique and Place de l'Horloge. With its central location, guests have easy access to the city's main attractions. The hotel offers modern and comfortable rooms decorated in warm tones, some with private terraces.
Superb location for this quaint hotel. The room was beautiful and cosy, the staff was kind, and the breakfasts are great. You can walk all around in nice little streets and discover wonderful restaurants nearby. It is a very nice place to stay, affordable, if you are in Avignon and want to visit the vineyards around. Thank you to the team for a nice stay!

Right on the main square. Beautiful old building with unique room configurations. Modern amenities and a cute breakfast area off the main lobby that looks like an arboretum. Walking distance to attractions. I would stay there again and recommend it for short stays while traveling. Only downside is no car parking at the hotel although you can drive up, drop your bags and parking is just a 5 minute walk away.
Kathy B — Google review
Extremely disappointed with Hôtel de l’Horloge. We had to cancel our reservation 1.5 days in advance due to circumstances completely out of our control. Our rental car was unexpectedly cancelled, trains were fully booked, and we were left stranded with our 7-month-old baby. I contacted the hotel immediately, explained everything, and asked if they could show some flexibility, as this was only meant to be a short stopover on our way to a wedding. Since there were no available tickets via Avignon, we had no choice but to take a different route. Their response came two days later, by which time it was very clear they had chosen profit over compassion. Booking.com showed goodwill and refunded our car rental, understanding that these situations can happen, especially when traveling with a small baby. Hôtel de l’Horloge, however, chose greed.
May I — Google review
I had some trouble during my trip when my rental car broke down, and I found it very difficult to communicate because of the language barrier. I was really in a tough situation, but the hotel staff went out of their way to help me as if it were their own problem. Their kindness and dedication truly touched my heart. Thanks to their wonderful help, everything was sorted out smoothly, and I was able to enjoy the rest of my trip. I’m deeply grateful to all the staff and wish the hotel continued success. I’ll definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Avignon!
Shihyun A — Google review
It's perfectly at heart of the inner town. We enjoyed start our morning at the terrace which is directly above the historic street. The room is cozy and the crews are nice and helpful. The only drawback is, there's one night being a bit noisy (we are at French 1st Floor). Probably because of the Avignon festival;)
Leon J — Google review
We had a room overlooking the square and it was very pretty and quiet thanks to excellent air conditioning. Beds perfect for me with medium firm supportive mattress. The breakfast was high quality, better than some 5 star hotels, I particularly enjoyed the pain au chocolat which were warm and rich. Staff friendly and made an effort with guests from all over the world.

Hotel Cloitre Saint Louis is a luxurious retreat located in the heart of Avignon, offering upscale rooms in a 16th-century Jesuit school building. The hotel boasts a private garden, an outdoor pool, and a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city. Its historical courtyard is available for events such as wedding receptions and conferences. The vibrant and stylish rooms are designed by renowned interior designer India Mahdavi, providing guests with comfort and character.
Great place to stay. It is a very beautiful place (supposed to be a school in the old days). The rooms are huge. Maybe they were dorms before? 🤣 The hall and the garden are stunning as well. They serve breakfast and they are alright. They have a very convenient parking (need to pay for overnight parking). The location is fine and make sure if you have heavy luggage, see if you can ask for a room that doesn’t need to walk stairs. Cos most of them need to. Great place, beautiful architecture.
Brian Y — Google review
The setting of the hotel is superb – peaceful, full of history, and with incredible potential! The staff are very friendly and helpful, which makes the stay all the more pleasant. However, the rooms, while clean, feel quite outdated and are in serious need of renovation. The comfort and amenities fall short of expectations, especially given the charm of the surroundings. Important note: if you're taller than 6'1" (1.85m), expect difficulties getting into the shower or even using the toilet, as the spaces are extremely cramped. This hotel could truly be outstanding. For now, it’s just about adequate – which is unfortunate, especially since even the staff seem aware of the issues.

I absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Cloître Saint-Louis in Avignon. The building itself is so unique and historic, which made the experience even more special. We lucked out and got a very unusual room—almost like staying in a tower—with fantastic views of the courtyard and rooftops surrounding the hotel. We had zero issues with water pressure, noise, or internet, which made for a comfortable stay. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful throughout. Breakfast was good, a typical hotel buffet, and the location couldn’t have been better—just a short walk to restaurants, museums, and cultural attractions. A truly memorable place to stay in Avignon!

This is a beautiful hotel. It was a privilege to stay in such a historic building. The upkeep required should not be underestimated. The price was most reasonable for such a place. The bed very comfortable. We had a superior room overlooking the lovely courtyard. The hotel is near to all points of interest. The staff were gracious and helpful.Yoann helped us with our bags when we arrived which was greatly appreciate. I recommend this hotel 100%]

Disappointing stay at this 4 star rated hotel. My friends and I booked this hotel for a 6 night stay after reading an excellent review and article in ‘The Daily Telegraph’. While there is no question that the hotel is in a beautiful building (albeit in need of some restoration), the services are sadly lacking and the staff attitude somewhat defensive, to put it politely. Daily housekeeping was cursory, the kettle in the room did not work properly and there was a constantly dripping tap in the toilet. The hotel provide one tea bag (Earl Grey only, so if you don’t like Earl Grey I suggest you take your own tea) and 2 small sachets of instant coffee per day in the room and offer a ‘present’ of one small bottle of water in the fridge on arrival. No milk, no biscuits, no other little treats that you might expect of a decent 4 star hotel. The breakfast is all self-service but is fairly good, though, as in most hotels, the hot food (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages) is not very hot. The hotel is centrally located, a definite plus. But there was a dead rat left at the hotel entrance for 4 days and it was not until my friend suggested to reception that public health authorities should be advised that anything was done about it. Also the central courtyard was full of leaves and was not swept once during our stay which rather spoilt the hotel aspect. We didn’t use the hotel pool so can’t comment on that facility. All in all I would say this is an over rated and definitely overpriced hotel with no clear leadership from management (there was apparently no hotel manager or deputy manager on site for 3 days when we arrived) as to what is expected of this standard of hotel. It also felt that the hotel was understaffed and those that worked there had no pride or joy in their job, with a few exceptions. I would not stay there again and would not recommend it.

Disappointing superior hotel room for a 4* ranking. Carpet is yucky! We had issues with smell of marijuana coming into our room… Shower is poorly maintained. Almost no water pressure &, hot water, once in a while. Too bad about the room, because the property itself is beautiful. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Would not stay here again.

4 star hotel? the building is beautiful.. the way they put the rooms and furniture looks like a bad choke.. no style for this old building. Room for EUR 200 not worth at all... poor installation, internet is nearly not existing (so bad you will not any get it in 3rd world contries).. incredible for 4 stars.. Parking for 23 EUR outside not inside parking (really?)... at all really not worth a recommendation...

Very nice hotel in a great location for Avignon visit. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. Take out pastry shop fifty feet from the door. 4 croissants for $4. Can't beat that.

We loved this hotel which is very well adapted for a family break. We came with 2 young children and had a spacious room with enough for all of us. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were all very friendly. We didn’t get time to use the pool but wish we had!

Really well set up. Cool bar /restaurant area. Nice pool area. A bit of a shame we couldn’t get the main restaurant menu (due to staff availability) but was still good. Rooms as expected - excellent.

Service is good for a 4 star travel hotel, and employees try to do their best. On the other hand, rooms are barren, and our suite had an awful smoke odour. Also, the bathroom has no door!
Marco M — Google review
We stayed there during our visit at Avignon. We booked the last minute but thankfully there was availability. As a family of 4 with two kids in puberty, we needed a spacious room and we were really happy with the size of the one delivered. One thing to note: for families with kids, 2 double beds don't make much sense. Either provide 2 separate single beds or, a sofa with separate beds, not one double.

The hotel boasts modern amenities and has undergone recent refurbishments, enhancing the overall guest experience. The staff was attentive and professional, ensuring a pleasant stay.

We arrived on Sunday evening around 8.30pm, no one was at the desk and another customer was already waiting, she went to the bar to find someone. We asked if we could book a table in the restaurant and were told yes but it was closing at 9pm. Once seated we were told only tapas was being served, we wanted something more substantial so we left. We went out of the side gate and walked to a restaurant on our return we could not get into the hotel grounds, we rang the buzzer on the pedestrian gate and for the car park entrance and no one answered, it was really cold and we waited and called for more than five minutes. Luckily for us my husband spotted that at the side of the car park gate building work was being done and a temporary fence had been put up that we managed to climb through, not ideal!! Once back in the hotel again the reception desk was unmanned. I had earlier asked for another towel and the receptionist said she would bring it up to the room, which she did, but she didn’t know when as she was on her own. Clearly another member of reception staff is needed.

The lobby nicely folds into a very attractive lounge and restaurant area. My room was comfortable and quiet. I appreciate the door trim on the floor that help blocks out the hallway sounds. Restaurant is very good and I highly recommend including the breakfast as part of your room package. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Merci for the excellent hospitality. Highly recommend.

The hotel was good.. decor was really nice. Reception staff helpful. Two things stick in my mind that perhaps needs looking into..?? 1st was housekeeping had the habit of not replacing the plastic goblets in the bathroom, why I never understood..afterall no one is going to steal them??? 2nd breakfast bar- not enough mugs for coffee and tea..I had to ask a few times to get them. The other was croissants for breakfast..same thing not anticipated enough to go around I suppose even though it was the weekend end of June so lots of people for breakfast!

Good experience with the hotel. Room is clean , pool is great , the food in the restaurant is really nice , we had the steak and the grilled octopus and the wine by glass is good too. Plus point , they are very kind to give an additional sides for the kids menu to my kid . The staffs are very friendly too . I rate it 5 stars because I feel the current 3 stars average is not reflecting the actual rating, I really believe they deserve more. I would definitely come back if I were to make a trip down south again. :)

The hotel is well located for my business trips to Avignon. Also if I wanna go downtown by car or public transport. Plenty of on site car parking available. The rooms are off a good size, but the carpet has his best years behind. Gym machine was defect and the one treadmill not enough.
Simon F — Google review
the bed lining gave me an allergic reaction, the room smelled like sewage , the bed lining was yellow, the towels were yellow and smelled like chemicals and waste and the bathroom was dirty and unclean
Bartol D — Google review
The hotel had recently been upgraded from a Novatel to Ibis Styles. The toilet was not working correctly as the cistern kept on filling up. Also, the plug in the bathroom didn't pop up as the linkage between the lever and plug isn't long enough. The pop-up bed for kids had a mattress where you could feel the springs through my body when laying down. The restaurant was ok. The pool table had no white ball, and the chalk was broken.
Train M — Google review
This hotel has no respect for your privacy. I typically prefer not to have my room cleaned during my stays and always hang the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door. Despite this, the staff still entered my room, moved my personal belongings, and cleaned without my permission. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable. When I spoke to the reception, they explained that if they see the "Do Not Disturb" sign and receive no response after calling the room, they will enter and clean anyway. What kind of absurd policy is this? I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. The franchise manager needs to be held accountable.

Although it was during the Avignon Festival, and the hotel was quite busy, it all went very smoothly. We received a VERY warm welcome from the gentleman on duty that day: he was so helpful not only sorting out our booking and room, but also keeping our belongings in the closet while the room was being prepared, giving us directions to the city. Awesome. The room was totally up to Ibis standards: super cosy and comfy. And the breakfast offered plenty of options, all delicious. The hotel is located in the outskirts of Avignon, 10mn walk from the last station of the tram lane. It's near a shopping center and a cinema. The surroundings felt safe.

Mercure Avignon Gare TGV is a remarkable 4-star hotel located in the heart of Avignon, France. Situated just 1.8 miles from the city center, this sleek hotel offers understated accommodations with an outdoor pool, contemporary restaurant, and spa facilities. The hotel provides easy access to attractions such as Remparts d'Avignon and musee Louis Vouland.
This hotel is beautiful. The service was amazing and friendly. The room was spotless and so modern and nice, it even smelled lovely! The housekeeping staff was so nice and accommodating when we asked for towels (we used ours for the pool not knowing we could get them from the desk). Our bartender, Lucas, was fantastic. We looked forward to our evening time at the bar and he even helped us to prepare some wine for our room the night we had to pack and had to spend the time in our room preparing to leave… I will advise anyone coming to this area to visit this hotel, it was wonderful and I am hoping to be back someday. I am from the USA.

Room was clean with comfortable beds and cold air conditioning. Shower with good pressure. The restaurant service and food quality are very good. We has the pasta and pulled pork sandwich - fresh, tasty, and delicious with friendly and warm service from Pauline and Valentin. Highly recommend.

This place works well if you have a car, since the free parking and EV charging are a nice perk. The TGV station is also just a ten-minute walk away. The room itself was okay and the breakfast was pretty good. Overall, it's a fine place to stay for the price.

The kind associate upgraded me to a fine corner room with a wraparound balcony. Room had 2 extra beds I didn’t need. The hotel is very modern and convenient for TGV travelers. The restaurant is nice and the swimming pool lovely. Breakfast was good too.
David S — Google review
Great restaurant with tasty options, However a big miss is that there was a false fire alarm, and while trying to exit from the emergency doors, they were locked. This is borderline dangerous if the alarm was real. Also, 2 stays, had to change the room twice. Once because the AC didn’t work, second because they forgot to clean the room. In my opinion, stay away.
Cesar R — Google review
I booked this hotel initially because I was traveling in and out of Avignon via TGV and also this hotel is the only Accor property in Avignon offering flexible rate during the days I wished to stay for some reasons 🤔. Yet, after checking in, there is much more that impressed me. Front desk staff are very helpful and welcoming who are willing to address every question I had, I originally booked only a classic room with double bed but got upgraded to a family room which is highly appreciated as I wanted to book twin room in the beginning but it wasn't available the time when I make the booking thus it's a pleasant surprise for me😄. I used the pool one day in the afternoon, it was very nice and organised. I also managed to have breakfast and dinner one day because I joined a full day tour, and the F&B staff are also very helpful and attentive despite being occupied. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind living outside the centre of Avignon or if you have your own method of transportation
陳逸俊 — Google review
I was genuinely surprised to see this hotel rated as a four-star property. Upon arrival, the check-in experience felt more like a self-serve kiosk setup—just a few laptops on a desk, with only one staff present. There was no luggage assistance, no room service available, and overall, the experience felt more like a three star hotel at most. When I got to my room, I was disappointed to find several fruit flies and other insects that I had to remove from the room and I also found stains on the carpet and couch that converts to a pull-out sofa bed. Overall unkept and worn-down feel. I’ve stayed in other four-star hotels, and unfortunately, this one didn’t meet the standards in terms of cleanliness, service, or amenities. The breakfast was also underwhelming and lacked variety or quality. If you’re looking for a hotel experience that reflects genuine four-star service and comfort, I would recommend staying elsewhere.
Rebekah Y — Google review
We had high expectations after reading all the great reviews , unfortunately our experience was not great ! On the positive side the hotel is a good base to discover the region and the free parking is a plus , Nevertheless the room was very basic with the bathroom separated from the bedroom with a curtain ! During our 2 nights stay we had to change our room twice for a couple of incidents . The worst part of our stay is the alarm that went off early in the morning indicating a fire , we rushed out of our rooms with other hotel guests , trying to evacuate the building but all exit doors were locked ! Panic ! We finally tried the elevator to the lobby to be told in a cold manner that it was a false alarm . I hope the hotel is aware of the severity of the situation if there was actually a fire !

If you're looking for a great dog-friendly hotel near the 14th century Palais des Papes in Avignon, check out Ibis Avignon Sud. This 3-star hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi and parking, as well as a restaurant and an outdoor pool. You'll be close to the city center, the Pont d'Avignon and the Avignon Convention Centre.
Stayed in this hotel as a tourist looking for a place to lay over while visiting Avignon. The staff members were very accommodating and I felt welcomed! Food, room, and overall services were great. Only wanted to go here just for a place to stay but this definitely added to my list of good things i've had during my trip. 👍

Emergency stop over and pleased to eventually find the hotel. Not the part of the city a tourist might naturally seek out. Room was adequate in terms of bed but a bit too small for easy access with suitcases. Reception was less than friendly to be honest which is why only two stars given. A smile upon our arrival might have been nice after a long drive in the car, lucky for them the waitress in the restaurant was pleasant and served us what was a good meal for the price.

Stayed here for 2 nights during our drive from Switzerland to Spain. Location is good, just a few km from the center of Avignon but note it is surrounded by commerce as it’s situated within a retail/ business park. Considering it’s location it felt really quite tranquil and the noise insulation of the rooms very good - you can hear no traffic, not even the very noisy crickets! The rooms were small, but clean, nice white bedding. The bathrooms look to have been renovated recently, again small but modern with nice products provided. No one came to service our room during our stay which I would have expected as we stayed 2 nights. AC worked fine and was much needed. We ate at the restaurant a few times including breakfast and the food was surprisingly good ( the burger in particular). There is a small kids menu and a few activities/ games the children can play with whilst there. The pool was a great way to cool down in the heat although the pool looked a little tired and in need of a good clean around the edges. The communal stairs and hallways leading to the rooms really do need the carpet replaced as it smelled pretty unpleasant. I don’t know if this is down to dogs being allowed in the hotel but it really wasn’t a nice smell despite appearing clean. Staff were, with 2 exceptions, quite friendly and helpful.
Melissa G — Google review
The hotel desperately wants to keep your deposit, the service is rude, the front door closes at about midnight and apparently there is a button to press when you want to enter, the button is hidden in the leaves and they don’t tell you about it when you arrive. The walls are extremely thin, the doors close very loudly and yet they try to keep your deposit because of too much ‘noise’.
Antonela Ž — Google review
Freshly renovated Ibis with very friendly staff! We came very late in the night and the young lady was extremely warmly and service orientated! I guess we saw the General Manager also during our check-in. On the next morning the same gentleman helped at the breakfast which is with 11,50€ fair! All in all worth for our stay over or more if you want to enjoy the pool!

Apart'Hotel Sainte-Marthe is a low-key apartment hotel with fitness room located close to the Pont Saint-Benezet, just minutes away from the vibrant old town of Avignon. The size of the rooms may be small, but they are clean and comfortable and offer good value for money. The staff are very friendly and can speak English very well.
The reception ladies were great. I had screwed the dates at reservation time but it was all fixed with a big smile. The unit was perfect and the location ideal for a waking city visit. We had a great time there and the price was correct so really it was a very good experience. We only wished we would have had the time to stay a bit longer.

The apartment was ok, with everything needed. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen can be improved but I was able to cook for a couple of days. The location is good, quite close to the centre and it's easy to reach the train station from here. I would not recommend the breakfast, not worth the price. The staff speak english and they are super helpful.

Good value for the price. Spacy room with its own little kitchen. Room was clean, tho a bit older, beds average. Rooftop terrace was a bit difficult to find and closes early but has a nice view. Hotel has a gym at the ground floor, supermarket right next to it and overall great location.
Polopolik — Google review
I stayed here for a couple of nights last month, and had on the whole a good experience! Other people here have mentioned the rules involved and fines for late checkout and not taking out the bins etc. To me, I thought the prices were so cheap that all of these things didn't really matter. Don't get me wrong, the rooms were quite tired and could have been cleaner, but for what you pay for, the location, privacy and kitchenette were fantastic!
Darci — Google review
The location is great, in front of the defensive walls of the city, and there is a splendid view from the roof terrace on the 3rd floor. The receptionist and electric maintenance deserve a 5 star review, but I can't rate that much when the cleanliness was in fact 1 star. When I arrived, the shower hadn't been cleaned, and had a lot of hairs and other remains... BUT the worst is that when I unfolded the white linnen of the bed to get in, I saw another long hair, just there... the cleaning staff should clearly be changed. DISGUSTING
Deeper N — Google review
Disgusted by this hotel. Avoid. Booked a while ago for a 3 night stay however due to circumstances outside of my control, my transport was changed a day out from my stay, meaning I needed to change my booking to a 2 night stay. numerous attempts at getting in contact with the hotel, including multiple messages via booking.com, didn’t receive any acknowledgement, confirmation that my reservation would be held should I not be there on the original date, absolutely nothing. I have taken this up with booking.com and will be requesting a full refund. I had to cancel as I wasn’t sure I would still have accomodation for the next day.

About a 15-20 minute walk from the Palais des Papes. There's a grocery around the corner: Netto. The room felt spartan: no hand towels or hand soap. There's a 20€ fee if you don't do the dishes, empty the fridge and take out the garbage.

The Hôtel Mercure Avignon Centre Palais des Papes is a contemporary accommodation located on the Place de l'Horloge in the heart of Avignon. With 89 rooms, this 4-star hotel offers modern amenities at reasonable prices. Its convenient location near Palais des Papes makes it an ideal base for exploring the main attractions of Avignon. While some guests found the decor slightly dated, they appreciated the warm reception from the staff.
We had booked a one night stay and found the parking easily but as I hadn’t read the address correctly we went to the wrong hotel and we taken by one of the reception team over to the Palais des Papes. He couldn’t have been more helpful. The reception team at the hotel also were very helpful and we went up to our well appointed room with an excellent view. Being so central we were able to visit the bridge and the Palais as well as walking around the town including finding a gelato for a welcome ice cream on a very hot day. The bed was extremely comfortable and both my wife and I slept well. The breakfast the next morning was very good with a wide selection of pastries charcuterie, cheese, fruit etc and delicious coffee too. We would certainly return.

We had an excellent stay at the Mercure Hotel Palais des Papes, lovely staff, especially grateful to Yoann who provides great eating and site seeing tips. The hotel is directly next to the Palais, so you could not ask for a better spot, and the suit is well worth the investment for that spectacular balcony!

We stayed one night and while it was ok, we likely wouldn't recommend it or stay again. Pros: - Perfect location for touring the sights of Avignon - Friendly, helpful service/staff - Fridge in room - Dated, but quite comfortable - Clean Cons: - AC turned off in building, despite being a listed amenity. The hotel was very hot, and we were not informed until we asked maintenance to check. We got a fan, but air didn't circulate well in the room. We were miserably hot much of the time. - Strange smell in the hallway and room - probably from the carpeting. - Breakfast was lackluster - scrambled eggs were probably from a powder as the texture was strange. No veggies (tomatoes/cucumber). Only a couple of bruised pears as fresh fruit. - 10am checkout (kind of early for vacationers)
Monique L — Google review
The hotel's location is excellent, but unfortunately, it lacks on-site parking. However, there is a public parking lot nearby and the hotel offers a discount for guests. Beyond the location, I was disappointed with the overall experience. The room i was staying in was small and old. The hotel does not meet the standards expected of a 4-star establishment. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend and I certainly won't be booking here again.
Lennert W — Google review
Good location and “friendly” service at the reception. I have no comment about Room 202, which was next to the elevator and was flanked by two narrow windows. What really pissed me off was the checkout time being at 12pm, yet housekeeping opened our door without knocking at 9am while we were still in bed—JUST TO CLEAN?! And it didn’t happen just once. She opened the door three times before noon—EACH TIME WITHOUT KNOCKING. That was incredibly rude and completely unacceptable.
Zheng B — Google review
This is an absolute no for me. Dragging your suitcase over cobbles stones for 200m because the parking they say they have is not at the hotel. Getting to the hotel is a nightmare. The room is SO small you have to stand on your suitcase to get in bed and the window is the size of a match box. I literally felt like I was in prison !
Kim H — Google review
Arriving at the hotel after a very long flight to be told our booking had been cancelled because our agent had not paid for the room - rubbish! We asked how the cancellation had occurred and when. Initially they said by telephone twice and then changed to by Email. We asked to see the emails but they couldn’t be found. We asked to see the manager but was told he would only be available at 10.30 the next morning. They then found us a hovel to stay in for the night. At 10.30 the next morning we returned to the hotel to see the manager Not Available AND they could still not show us any evidence that they had cancelled I suggest to any travellers that they constantly reconfirm their bookings with this hotel to ensure against any questionable dealings.

Great hotel and a great location. Just a 10-15 minute walk to the train station. Right next to the palace of the popes. The front desk girls were impeccable! This hotel was excellent and offered everything I wanted for my stay—updated, impeccably clean, updated and near everything I wanted to see. Yes, it was a small room but so cozy and comfortable!! Palais du Papes is right around the corner. Lots of good places to eat right out the front door in place de L’Horlage, great shopping and the Pont is within walking distance. What’s more, the room was so quiet and the staff was lovely. So happy we chose well and stayed here.

Really excellent small hotel right in the heart of Avignon. It is only 100m from the Palais des Papes and is on the main sqaure with lots of eating options. Room was clean and although small, was very comfortable. Staff were very helpful. It is a 5 minute walk from the central railway station, which has regular connections to the TGV station just out of town. Highly Recommended.

Great location, in the very centre but Avignon is a quiet city. The rooms are a bit austere but very practical (plenty of storage space) and perfectly clean. Good bed. Friendly staff. Very good value for money. If the weather is good then I would not recommend the breakfast, as the breakfast room is a bit poky and you can easily have continental for less money sitting somewhere on a fine terrace.

We stayed for three nights in July during the Avignon Theatre Festival. We had a 2nd floor room that had windows facing the square and was down the hall from the breakfast area - and most amazingly the soundproofing was awesome. Literally, you could open the window and hear the street performers and crowds and then close the window and enjoy the quiet. On top of that the staff were friendly and very helpful. Oh, and the breakfast, their frozen yogurt machine plus breakfast pastries were great. Our first visit to a Kyriad location - but certainly not our last!

This is a GREAT location. While you're right in the center of all the action, the rooms are situated so you don't hear any of the noise if you're trying to get some rest. The staff are largely fluent in English and super friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised at the price of breakfast considering what you get. They offer the typical French breakfast pastries, but also eggs, bacon, sausages - the works. The dining space is also in a cute, quiet little nook, which is another plus. Would definitely stay in the future.

The hotel offers 22 unfussy and comfortable rooms, with some featuring excellent air conditioning. Guests can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine at the on-site country-chic restaurant. The property also boasts an outdoor pool, pet-friendly rooms, and free parking.
Very nice hotel hidden in nature with a great terasse to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Only 10 minutes drive away from Avignon. Cosy rooms. Great quite big swimming pool that can be used at any time with a code. They also provide towels. Very friendly service.

Great country style small hotel with a great restaurant. Rooms are clean but in the small side. Bathroom was very clean but again, very small. Quality of the food in the restaurant was good with a value for money price fix option. Pre dinner cocktail selection was disappointing but service was very good.

Great staff, service minded and friendly. Good food in the restaurant (and wine). Great local place close by to buy some pastis straight from the producer. Quite simple rooms but work well for a night. The staff made it worth it.

This little hotel is very well located close to the city of Avignon. The rooms are very small and lack noise isolation. All rooms are equipped with mosquito nets (that I should have used). The pool area is wonderfully arranged and one can spend several hours there relaxing from a city trip. The staff is very friendly and I would definitely go there again next time I'm in Avignon.

Lovely place and so central to visiting Avignon with free car park 6 minutes away. Team all very friendly and supportive and this was our second visit to La Ferme . This time we travelled with kids and grandkids and suited all generations

Stayed here as a group of 10 (5 rooms) for 5 nights at the end of August. All rooms comfortable, clean with excellent AC. The staff were tremendous and really helpful (food kept aside for part of our group checking in late after restaurant closed). Lovely swimming pool, excellent breakfast. Location if perfect if you have a car, but much more limiting if you will be on foot during your stay. Would we stay, absolutely. Merci à toute l'equipe!

The hotel Cristol Avignon is a 3-star property located in the city of Avignon. It offers 43 rooms, all of which come with a variety of amenities to ensure an enjoyable stay. The staff are available 24 hours a day to provide any assistance you may need, and there is also free WiFi available in all areas of the hotel. The gardens and terrace offer some peace and quiet while you relax, and parking is also available on site.
Recommended hotel. Firstly, the staff are very polite and very helpful. Answered to our request with questions. And they allow late check in too. The rooms are pretty good too. The loft is quite hot during July period as the air conditioning was unable to circulate the cold air to the loft. So that is a point to consider. Breakfast is included. Pretty basic breakfast but we appreciate it.

For it being a 3 star Hotel it's an absolute disgrace, the rooms are cleaned really poorly and its a technical and electrical disaster. To our Problems, our Keycard didn't work, the Toilet had a loose screw, some lights didn't work and the breakfast was lower than average. Apart from this in some other rooms some bedsheets we're missing, flushing the toilet did not work properly and the toilet in general was really dirty to the point of it being moldy. Very dissappointing.
Maxim L — Google review
The rooms are the worst part morhs ate our curtains mold in the air cons and the toilet looks like it's had the worst 99years of its life.
HANNA G — Google review
Horrible stay. Fortunately only one night as part of a tour group. Rooms were not very clean, dead bugs on the bathroom floor, hair in the sheets. One of our group members had a double booked room. Another member had a bunk bed with a broken railing = dangerous. Beds were not very comfortable either.
Collyer B — Google review
I had a one night stay at the Hotel Cristol. The rooms were pleasant, with very welcome air conditioning. Though they were a little small, and would have been very cramped with more than 2 people, it was perfect for a one night so over with 2 people.

The privacy of having your own room entrance, ample parking, nice helpful and English speaking staff is a big plus. Very comfortable bed.

The ibis budget Avignon Centre is a simple budget hotel located in central Avignon. The staff are welcoming and the rooms are basic but very tidy and comfortable. There is a good bar on site where guests can relax after exploring the city.
A very good deal - room was quite small but very clean and had everything we needed. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Good position - 10 mins from station and just outside the city walls. Breakfast also a good deal - lots of choice. Would stay there again!

Spent a night in ibis budget Avignon Centre. It delivers exactly what you would expect. It's well situated, clean, cheap, the staff is friendly. Breakfast wasn't fantastic but still fine. Its exactly what I wanted so very happy with the experience. If you're on a budget and want somewhere to stay for a night or two in Avignon ibis budget Avignon Centre is your go-to hotel.
Marianne G — Google review
Basic but everything one could ask for. We walked from the central station and had a pizza and beer rather than going back out. In the morning, we walked to the central bus stop. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. We stayed for 2 nights before beginning our boat/bike trip.

overall we had a great stay at ibis budget avignon. the location is just a stones throw away from the avignon center station, and can be easily walked with supermarkets conveniently nearby. for the hotel itself, the reception service was superb. in particular, sarah-mari provided excellent service and went above and beyond the call of duty doing everything from pouring drinks to refunding our unused breakfast. overall we were very pleased and look forward to our next visit in the future!

Located in the heart of Avignon, Ibis Avignon Centre Gare is a perfect choice for travellers looking for comfort and convenience. The hotel offers 98 functional rooms, including some with access to views of the Palais des Papes. Plus, there’s a restaurant and bar on site to relax in after a busy day sightseeing.
We were worried that it would be noisy because of the proximity to the train tracks, but it was super quiet. Parking very convenient and with the hotel discount, quite inexpensive. Good breakfast. Best of all, the staff. They were all very helpful and charming. 5/5
Geoffrey W — Google review
I just stay one night, so probably could not assess their services fairly. The reception is very welcoming though. The location could not be better, just next to the station that traveller with luggage will find it a relieve, and the old city of Avignon is just across the street. The room is quite small but very clean. A nespresso machine is available in the room.
Soegianto A — Google review
Location is perfect if one doesn’t want to drag the luggage for more than 50 meters and the room was clean and sufficient for one or two nights. But Avignon is a very small town and the side walks are flat (not cobbled) so one can find other hotels within 500 meters if walking is not an issue. We didn’t take breakfast as there are cafes within 5 minute walking and it felt more French to eat outdoors.
Annie Z — Google review
In city center. Well located. Good breakfast. Just next to the train station. Friendly personnel. Parking at the train station park. A bit expensive but 20% discount available for hotel guests. And quite convenient for the people with a car

The staff was really nice and the common rooms were cool. There is free water and coffee. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Location is great too. However, the room is so tiny you can barely move.
Alice P — Google review
I might not have good luck this time. The bed of my room was hollow. There’s no water when I flushed the toilets. The shower gel was empty. The sound proof was really bad. I could hear door slammed early morning. The breakfast is fairly good but the coffee is very watery. The Expresso tastes like American coffee. BTW, please pay attention when reserving the train tickets. It’s next to Avignon Centre, not Avignon TGV.

We arrived at this hotel at 11:00 PM on 25/07/2025 after having all our belongings stolen, including our passports, bank cards, and money. We were in a desperate situation and explained everything to the staff. They told us at the reception told us we could make an online transaction and showed us a confirmation by email. We followed his instructions and made the payment, but after that, they refused to give us a room or issue a refund, even though we had no other options that night. When we tried to explain, the man became aggressive, insulted us, and told us to take our bags and leave, in the middle of the night, knowing we were stranded and vulnerable. We had to cancel the transaction ourselves and were left outside in the dark without help. This was inhuman, unprofessional, and deeply upsetting behavior. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. No person in crisis should be treated this way.

Hôtel Le Bristol Avignon is a modern property offering well-maintained rooms and suites equipped with minibars and cable TV. Situated within the ramparts in the center of Avignon, this 4-star hotel provides air-conditioned accommodations, a bar, free WiFi, and a shared lounge. Despite some mixed reviews about the front desk staff, many guests praise the hotel for its excellent location on the main street of Avignon and its affordable rates.
The location is perfect—very close to the station and major attractions. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely friendly, and the hotel offers 24/7 service. The room was very clean, and the toilet was separate from the bathroom, which was convenient. There was no refrigerator in the room, but the simple breakfast was quite nice. Overall, a simple yet comfortable hotel—perfect for a short stay during a trip to Avignon!
Joanna T — Google review
My room was very small, with no space to open my suitcase. I had to push the bed to open it. There was no minibar and it was very dark. The bathroom was separate from the shower, which was behind the front door. Both were very small. My room didn't have an electronic key, unlike the others. I didn't have room service on the second day because they forgot, and I was left with wet towels. My experience was very bad and I wouldn't go back.

We stayed in this hotel for several nights - and returned for a couple more following a trip to the French Riviera. The rooms were clean and well serviced - and ours was very peaceful on both our stays. This Hotel is extremely well located with a walk of only a couple of hundred metres to both the Avignon SNCF Gare and the PEM Routiere bus station - which services numerous locations and towns of interest - so easy! It is also close to bus access to the Avignon TGV. The biggest highlight of this hotel for us was the friendly and accommodating staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free. This is a terrific and extremely convenient hotel to stay at during a trip to Avignon and this part of Provence. Highly recommended - we will certainly stay here again when we visit.
David G — Google review
The location is nice as it is close to all the major sites in Avignon and is easily accessible by any form of transportation. However, the soundproofing in the walls proves inadequate as you can hear people from other rooms taking a shower. At night, the lights in the hallways are motion activated, but they are bad at sensing when people are there. When you want to go to another family member's room or you want to go out on a walk at night, you have to wander around in a dark hallway and hope you don't fall on the inappropriately placed stairs. The rooms are also inaccessible to people with weaker bodies such as old people or people with disabilites as the elevators do not reach all the rooms and often times after using the elevator you still need to go up some stairs to get to their room. The breakfast tasted delicious and would've been easily very enjoyable had the staff not been so rude. When asked if they could refill the sausages when it had been finished, they dismissed the request immediately. They said they didn'thave any more left, come to find out they already had some cooked and just refused to bring them out. When they finally did bring them out, the staff kept staring and pointing at us as if we had done something wrong. Overall, the hotel was very unwelcoming and I would recommend looking for other hotels around the area.

Hôtel Médiéval is a hotel in Avignon with free Wi-Fi and car park. It's located within close proximity of the Palais des Papes, Musee Calvet, and the Palace Theater. The décor reflects 16th century French style with floral patio and fountain. Some nice features include flat screen TV, library with books in various languages, and a car park.
Wonderful 17th century former Bishop's palace converted into about 40 rooms. Renovations are being completed as I write this; the rooms are done (everything is new; paint, carpet, A/C unit, everything) and the new elevator is working. The new breakfast room, which is nearly done, will be beautiful. And finally, the staff have been absolutely lovely.

Stay away!!!!! Horrible and horrifying experience. Super disgusting room. Lots of bugs. Dirty. Move out right away after seeing various bugs crawling and flying in the room. Wrote to the owner and never replied (followed up two times). Took our money and didn’t even bother to reply my email after more than a week. Super bad experience. The hotel was located at a tiny alley where it’s impossible to park your car and unload your luggage. Parking was hard to find. Have to move luggage a long way to the hotel.
N Y — Google review
Paper thin walls, broken AC, bathroom smelled like sewage on our last morning. Beds are hard as rocks. Oh yeah, and the shower has no walls so it drenches the small bathroom and everything in it. Should have listened to other reviewers. It’s a shame. The location is great, this could be an excellent hotel, but it’s not even close. If you want to have a good trip, do not stay here.
Devin A — Google review
One of the rooms we booked had several bugs. Despite our objection of applying insecticide, the receptionist applied it right away when she saw them flying in the bathroom. We travelled with children and had concerns about its effect on them. The family who was supposed to stay in the room moved to another hotel. The owner/management did not respond to our email request after a week has been passed by. Very unprofessional/disrespectful to the guest.

Mary M — Google review
The outside, lobby, and stairwell have a lot of charm. I excited to stay here. The room was even fairly spacious. However, the room was not in good condition. After a night of sleeping in the room, we suffered irritated throats and allergies. There is visible black mold in the grout and ceiling of the bathroom, and the inside of the AC looked filthy. Perhaps related to its lack of upkeep, the air conditioner was also extremely loud. And not a consistent a loud hum either, but big thumps at irregular intervals. This was also pretty annoying when trying to sleep but we could have lived with it if not for the air problems. Unfortunately, we booked through a travel portal and prepaid for 3 nights. The hotel would not refund the rest of the stay. But spending another two nights here was not an option for us, so we left. Edit: I see the hotel below is denying I even stayed there. There is no chance that I have the wrong hotel, and after the time I spent complaining to the manager it is unbelievable that this is an honest mistake on the part of the hotel.
Matt — Google review
Beware this hotel and beware room 24. Had an absolutely horrific experience with this hotel. How this place has a 4.1 on Google and 4.5 on TripAdvisor is mind blowing - maybe the other rooms were nice, who knows. What we saw was enough to book it to another hotel after one night. Our room (room 24 - two floors up to the left) actually made us sick - whether it was the filthy air conditioning filter or black mold growing in the shower (both on the tile and wood ceiling - there were flecks of it in the tub), the air circulation and quality in this room made it impossible to breathe and ruined my sinuses. My boyfriend also experienced breathing problems. To add to this joy of not being able to breathe, the filthy air conditioner made intermittent loud noises constantly throughout the night that made sleep impossible. After shutting it off to try and sleep, there was no air circulation so I turned it back on only to be greeted by a strong mildew smell. At least the air circulated as I was up all night trying to breathe. We left the next morning despite being booked for another two nights - two nights in that room would have been terrible and potentially dangerous. I have never complained about a hotel or left one before in my life. As other reviews mentioned, the hotel is tired and amenities are sparse (the bed is a rock and the wifi is intermittent) - that I could survive, the terrible air, I could not. The hotel refused to refund our money, saying no one has ever complained before (I did find one Google review with a similar but shorter description, so that was a lie). I am not sure why there aren’t more, given the mold and dust situation (maybe others didn’t use the air conditioner or only stayed briefly or were not sensitive to mold/dust). Do not book this hotel. To add insult to injury, management responded to my boyfriend’s review saying no one has ever stayed with his name. A mystery considering he was clearly suffering through the experience with me and booked the room. So, dishonesty on top of a terrible establishment. Do not give them your money.

My daughter and stayed here for glorious days. From our check-in to our check-out, the staff were very warm and welcoming. The grounds are as charming as can be and our room with the garden view was just trés marveilleux, it looked like Van Gogh's room. The location in Avignon is perfect for wandering around the city itself, with easy access to the trains, bus and Uber. It's makes for a good base to explore different parts of Provence, all within an hour or two train ride. Merci beacoup a tous to the staff et a bientôt!

Adorable small hotel, somewhere between "basic" and "shabby chic". Good location, just outside walls of old town. Simple rooms, decent bathrooms, nice small garden making everything cooler. Breakfast buffet could be a little bit more varied, but fine. Very friendly, helpful and kind owner. Would definitely choose again.

I stayed here 15+ years ago. That was a great experience. This time I found the tiny bathroom rather run down. There was also sewage odor in my room. Overall, the place still has charm (on the ground level). The staff was kind and friendly. The walls are thin, so hope your neighbors are quiet. I did not think the mattress was comfortable, but that is a matter of preference.
Rick P — Google review
A charming small quiet hotel for a realistic price, but bathroom needs some updating. One fact: it's location is at least a 20 minute walk from the Popes' Palace. It's an "easy" walk but not if you have any mobility issues.

Was adequate for a night. Gloomy rooms, very run down bathroom with ill fitting door. The staff member we met was unfriendly but ok. The walk to town is full of building sites, but not far from the beautiful historic centre of Avignon. I wouldn’t go here again as it didn’t feel like a holiday being there. Very nice and clean hotel, beautifully decorated. There’s a bar at the reception with comfortable chairs. The hotel is air-conditioned and very comfortable in the hot summers. The bed is comfortable. Everything is super clean. The breakfast room is on the second floor overlooking a beautiful historic street with fabulous architecture. Next to the breakfast room there is a lounge with tables and sofas and elegant furniture where you can either work or just hang out. They have a small (European-sized) elevator. Bathroom smells nice. Breakfast is decent but not mind-blowing (considering the price of the breakfast). They have fast WiFi (even good for videoconferencing). The only downside is perhaps that the space between the door and the hallway floor is quite large so if the cleaning staff are in the hallway you can hear them quite well. I suggest the hotel add sound buffer materials at the bottom of each door. Overall the best thing about this hotel is that it’s right in the center of Avignon and within walking distance to pretty much anything; despite this, we had a quiet room facing some inner courtyard and we didn’t hear any street noises. Next time we come back to Avignon, we will book this hotel again (but probably not the breakfast).

Very comfortable room and above all bed. Great location, but if coming with a car you must ask for specific instructions on how to drop off your luggage as this is a pedestrian area and you cannot follow GPS to address. You must come in a different way. Be sure to ask hotel. This clear instruction was not given to us until after we arrived by driving down a one way street.

This is the worst hotel I've ever been in my life. We were in three rooms. At 3 o'clock in the morning my sister woke up in her room with pain and started screaming. We came to her room and saw that bed bugs were running all over the bed and across the floor. It was disgusting. The whole sheet on the bed was in my sister's blood. We could not sleep, turned on the light and sat until my brother woke up. My sister and mother went to sleep in the car, because they were afraid that their bugs would continue to bite. The hotel staff did nothing at all, just took the room keys. We cursed for a long time and we were returned money for one of the three issues. I do not advise anyone to stop there. We paid 70-80 euros per room per night on August 25, 2017. We will file an application with the police and the Ministry of Health. I thought that bedbugs and such dirt remained only in old movies, but in this hotel everything is bad now. My room with my brother was just awful. We had two beds, but not side by side, but one above the other. For such a price this should not be. And it was scary to sleep on the top bed, since there were not enough screws. I had to sleep with my brother on the same bed.

I have been living there for 3 months.. It's a lovely and quiet place..I'm so satisfied and love to stay here..Overall, its a awesome hotel.

The worst hotel what I've ever seen. Unbelievable weak heating, only 14 C° in the room. Everything is worn and lousy. Don't book here. Never.
Peter K — Google review
Booked room for three people. Room is big. TV inside the room didn't function but we went outside to watch the big one

Cultural center
La Chapelle du Miracle is a duplex-style guesthouse located near the 14th-century Palais des Papes in Avignon. It offers amenities such as complimentary private parking, a tennis court, and an aqua park. The accommodation is within walking distance of Porte St-Roch and the medieval Pont d'Avignon Bridge. Guests can enjoy a clean and tidy room with various living amenities, including soft bedding, a fridge, electric kettle, microwave, oven, and air conditioning.
Restored chapel that has now been divided in apartments for rent. Sometimes you have to watch your head space if you are tall, but lovely and clean

This is a duplex-style guesthouse. Guests need to find the key themselves, and you won't meet the host during your stay. The room is clean and tidy with fairly complete living amenities. ➡️Room facilities: The bed and duvet are quite soft, but there are no pillows, only cushions! There's a fridge, an electric kettle, a microwave, and an oven. Guests need to bring their own plug adapters. There's an air conditioner. However, the double bed is exceptionally narrow, only 1.36 meters, which is the size of a single bed! It's very cramped for even small Vietnamese people to sleep two in it. I don't know how the locals manage! ➡️Bathroom: It's a separate wet and dry bathroom with ✅shower gel, a hairdryer, and a washing machine. However, there's no ❎laundry detergent or shampoo. You'll need to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, face wash, hand soap, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, and comb. There's only a bathtub, no shower. Hot water is insufficient and slow to come, requiring about half a minute of waiting. If you choose to take a bath, the hot water may not be enough. There's only one roll of toilet paper; it's a bit stingy! ➡️Environment: Sound insulation is poor; it can get quite noisy from the upstairs area, and there are often sounds of rodents digging, which I don't understand at all! Because France is not as clean as Singapore, there's more dust in the air, which makes the floor feel sticky and dusty when you walk barefoot. I recommend bringing indoor slippers. The sound insulation upstairs is also poor, and you can clearly hear footsteps.

Antoine and Alexane, made us welcome and were accommodating before we even turned up. The accommodation was beautifully designed and spacious with separate toilet and two bedrooms as well as a kitchen. A perfect location for Avignon and exploring Provence. We hired a car and had an off street carpark. We highly recommend this as a great place to stay.

This is an Airbnb with character and history. It is located near the main streets of Avignon, and the the rooms are carefully designed to maintain its historical charms. The host was kind and generous throughout our stay. Highly recommend to put up in this place if you're in Avignon.

Well situated and of a high standard. Aircon. Nice kitchen area
Ian P — Google review
This gorgeous, medieval apartment, with its thick stone walls, classic archways, and winding staircases, will transport you back more than 500 years. Yet it has been comfortably retrofitted to include modern luxuries like a dishwasher and washing machine. The apartment is impeccably clean, well maintained, and just a fun place from which to base your Provence adventures. We have stayed here several times, and now it is under new management, but they are an energetic and hardworking couple who dedicate themselves to providing a high quality place to stay. We stayed for 3 weeks, and it was perfect—within walking distance of all the historic sites, plus Michelin stars and other good restaurants, as well as Les Halles and the Saturday marché, and numerous nearby grocery stores. Plus it includes parking, truly valuable in a compact city, although we hardly moved our car due to the walkable nature of Avignon.(And we love Avignon in general—a perfectly sized city, not overcrowded like Paris, yet loaded with cultural and historical places of significance, plus top notch fromageries and boulangeries, as well as many boutique shops. Even casually walking along the streets brings surprises around every corner. Just a gorgeous medieval city!)

It’s not a church anymore but a bed and breakfast to open June 2025

Excellent apartment within easy walk of city centre. Would be 5star but bathroom needs a little attention. Broken tap and shower.
