1Villa Florentine

Hotel
Villa Florentine is a refined hotel housed in a 17th-century villa located in the center of Lyon's historic district. The hotel offers picturesque views of the medieval architecture of the 5th arrondissement and Cathedral Saint-Jean. It features an elegant ambiance, a Michelin-star restaurant, a chic rooftop terrace with a hot tub and bar, as well as a fitness and wellness center with a beauty salon, steam room, and sauna.
This hotel is situated high on a hill and does require walking up and down Many stairs to get into town unless you drive. We walked every time and did fine. The hotel staff was attentive and welcoming. We had a panoramic view from our room and from the pool. This is an amazing and unique hotel! Hope to return in the future!

Outstanding views, you will have to pay a bit more for the very nice rooms (junior suite) but definitely worth it. I would recommend you ensure you get one that has to view some of the rooms face backwards towards the garden wall, but may be better for familes due to the layout. The staff, were extremely helpful and friendly. May not recommended for people who struggle with hills as it is at quite a high point in the city requiring a lot of steps, although the hotel can arrange for transport.
Elliot W — Google review
Absolutely stunning hotel in Lyon. It's obviously not a cheap hotel, but the service and rooms match the price. The staff was incredibly helpful, competent and friendly. Some of the best service we have ever received! The one-star MICHELIN restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The hotel is ideally located near many sights. The concierge arranged a private walking tour, and we also explored the city by electric bike. Both are highly recommended. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend!

Excellent stay at Villa Florentine! Anne and her amazing team made us feel so welcomed upon arrival. Our room was upgraded and we were attentively cared for during the entire stay. Well appointed and centrally located, with fantastic views. Don’t look any further.
Kenan B — Google review
Beautiful hotel perched above Vieux Lyon; views to match. There is a very convenient staircase (Montée des Chazeaux) adjacent to the hotel that drops you directly into Vieux Lyon (100ft+ climb though😅). For some reason, google walking directions avoids these stairs. If you’re in decent shape, it’s a fun way to zip in and out of the hotel. Service was impeccable. All staff were friendly and spoke English. Room was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our huge luggage and us. The only complaint I have is there were a couple mosquitoes in the room every evening, despite keeping the windows closed. But I was able to catch them easily, so not a deal breaker.
Kirby K — Google review
Nicely located just above the old town, but 240 steps down, or walk around, not good for elderly guests. We did fine, but were surprised . Concierge Quentin?, recommended gastronomic restaurant Monsieur P, awaiting their MIchelin Star in '26. Walked there and back. Not to be missed. Perfect. Thanks, jim zidell
James Z — Google review
We were welcomed from the moment we stepped out of the taxi. This hotel offers excellent service and has very friendly and accommodating staff. The pool facility is very relaxing with an excellent view. The restaurant was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Lyon!

The total experience of staying at Villa Florentine was wonderful. The suite was very spacious and wonderfully designed. The food service was exceptional and the front desk could not have been more gracious and helpful. It was a true delight and we hope that we have the opportunity some day to return

Hotel
Nestled in the vibrant 3rd arrondissement, Hôtel Première Classe Lyon Centre - Gare Part Dieu offers a straightforward yet comfortable stay for travelers. With 148 non-smoking rooms equipped with free Wi-Fi, this hotel ensures guests can stay connected while enjoying their visit to Lyon. The property features a welcoming 24-hour reception and security service, making it an ideal choice for those seeking convenience and peace of mind.
For what we paid, the room was more than pleasant and clean. The staff was helpful, and the parking availability was helpful.
Luke H — Google review
I stayed here with my family and we booked two rooms. It’s true that it’s a budget hotel, but the rooms are extremely small and poorly maintained both the bathrooms and the rooms themselves. At least they were clean. However, the common areas looked dirty and had an unpleasant smell. The surrounding area isn’t very appealing either, although the location is convenient due to its proximity to the train station. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially not for families or those traveling with young children. Overall, I simply wouldn’t recommend it.
Jose M — Google review
Very clean rooms and accurate description of them on the website! However, the location is a nightmare if you are coming with the car due to the accessibility (if there are roadworks especially). Furthermore, we were very dissappointed that the hotel parking garage was full! We had to find an alternative and pay the daily fee. Would be great if hotel would have a warning or some sign about having to book the parking in advance 🙏
Delfina B — Google review
Rooms are small but functional and clean. Air conditioning worked fine once I figured how to use it. Location is ideal if using the train station. I arrived late when most places are closed but reception has a water dispenser to top up bottles and a vending machine. A local botttle of beer was left in my room for arrival but its a shame I dont like beer :-).Receptionist very helpful. Breakfast was a cold but well stocked and tasty buffet. Service was good.
Sharon B — Google review
Reception very basic, like a car rental pickup. Worn down lobby, elevators, corridor. I got a family room with little space and a hangover bed. Shower head broken, remote not working, but those got fixed when reported. Otherwise room okay, and good insulation from street noise. Breakfast outside of hotel, pretty good. Location not that good. Too high room rate for the overall standard.
Tomas T — Google review
The room was small but clean. Common areas, particularly the elevators, were incredibly dirty. Our double room came with only one set of towels. When we asked for a second set, we were told that hotel policy provides just one set (shower/hand) per room — as if we were expected to share towels with our roommate. Nonsense. We insisted and eventually received a second set. Aside from this absurd policy, the location isn’t ideal for the city center, but it was cheap.
Guido B — Google review
I have been there for 2 nights. Small room like a train cabin. We didn't have the space enough to even open our luggage. The bathroom had almost no wash liquid. The reception staff were rude. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a decent stay.
Tamer N — Google review
It's probably the smallest hotel rooms I have ever seen. Just enough space to walk around the bed..luggage space is a big problem. The bed is comfortable, and the shower is good. Wi-Fi is weak

Perched atop Fourvière hill, Fourvière Hotel offers a unique and luxurious stay in a former convent. The dramatic lobby, set in the former chapel, sets the tone for an elegant experience. The hotel features contemporary rooms, two restaurants including a bistro with views of old cloisters, and a typical Lyonnais bouchon serving hearty classics. With its spa area and heated outdoor pool, this romantic four-star hotel is ideal for couples or travelers seeking an unusual yet lavish setting.
I found this hotel as it was close to the venue I was working at the next day - and what a find! Incredible building, the staff are so helpful and welcoming! The room was incredible, comfortable bed, lovely views and oh my gosh that outdoor pool - an absolutely perfect way to unwind after a very long travel day! Insane value for money too! I will be back, and for more than 1 night before work this time!

So glad we chose this place to stay in Lyon. The hotel itself is well designed and in a tranquil setting away from the main city center. It is located on a hill but thanks to the tram you are never more than a few stops away from the old city center. I would highly recommend staying here
Rob P — Google review
The hotel itself is located in a fabulous setting and very close to the Basilica, Roman Ampitheatre and Furniculure into the city centre. Rooms are immaculate and cool. We didn’t eat a meal here as we felt it was. Set expensive in comparison to other Lyon restaurants and the menu choice isn’t huge but the bar staff are very friendly and efficient. The pool and spa area is very nice for relaxing in the sun and shade.
Sue N — Google review
Not enough words can fully describe this modernly-refurbished fairy-tale hotel, its surrounding and location, also the lovely breakfast offering in a wonderful setting - a great albeit too short stay for our one night stop in Lyon. We had a very good rest, likely and largely due to the very positive aura of the whole place (I imagine how decades and even centuries of prayers that took place here from the time it was a monastery/nunnery has brought about the serenity and blessing you could feel palpable in the air ☺️). Much appreciate the front of the house team who welcome us kindly despite our late time of arrival, and even more so the lovely lady during breakfast who helped elevate our peaceful morning enjoyment. Thank you for your hospitality.
Milka C — Google review
Great location, onsite parking, historic building with modern renovations. Breakfast was nice as well. Easy walk to the museum and the church. If your time in Lyon is short, this is a great place to stay.
Scott R — Google review
The hotel is difficult to get to but is very beautiful from the outside and the main hall. The rooms are very large and comfortable but appointed in an anachronistic style to the rest of the hotel. Additionally it was intensely difficult to keep a wifi connection in my room, it worked near the door but as I went deeper into the room (where the bed was) it would drop out. Not the end of the world, but something to consider, especially as there is no mobile reception in the thick walls either. Very well located above Lyon with beautiful views within walking distance. The staff is pleasant enough.
Paul — Google review
Unfortunately we arrived on the weekend of a private wedding in the hotel. The hotel was not capeable of separating the wedding guests and the hotel guests. It was impossible to have a quite drink at the bar.It was impossible to enjoy a meal in the resturant. and it was impossible to sleep. I wont even mention the Sunday morning breakfast that was shared with the wedding guests and their Children. We arrived at 9.15 am, there was no coffee cups available, no plates, eventually someone brought the plates which were still wet. The Buffet was discusting with nothing having been replenished. The resturant is at best described as bland and if I have a cheese plate dumped infront of me with no explaination of what cheeses were chosen for me then....... I could go on but suffice it to say that the hotel is run in a very unprofessional way. The resturants and bar are situated in the convent cloisters, narrow, loud and the Spa guests, with their bath robes and slippers wander to the spa in full view. Not always conjunctive to enjoying a ( quite expensive) Dinner on your Birthday. I had the feeling that nobody in this hotel had any idea what they were doing. There is absoutly nothing 4 star about the hotel. And I am sure the the fact that they have a Spa is the only reason for their stars. It certainly wasnt the service and although the staff were always "nice" they were anything but Professional, At breakfast, in the bar in the resturant. A bit of window shopping after dinner is also not possible. Definetly my worst stay in years. PS. I ran a small guest house in Switzerland for 12 years, I am familiar with dealing with guests.
Clint — Google review
Excellent hotel in the best neighborhood of Lyon. The rooms are spotless, breakfast delicious and I loved everything from the beginning. The reception is very beautiful as the hotel including the spa area and the gardens. Thank you very much for the stay!

The Boscolo Lyon Hotel & Spa is a luxurious hotel located in a historic building on the Presqu'ile of Lyon, offering stunning views of the Rhone river and 3rd arrondissement. The hotel features chic and sophisticated interiors with a recent renovation completed in 2018.
Had a great 5D4N stay in this hotel which is located in the city centre surrounded by restaurants and shopping places. It’s very easy to walk to vieux Lyon and access the metro station. The staff are really friendly and the place is very stylish and comfortable. The only thing is the bathroom is a bit small which I cannot hold any clothing inside. I have to step out to get dressed after bath. I remembered there s a girl who is doing the night room service. Whenever I was in room she greeted me with her biggest smile and a small box of chocolate. If I m not here, she will leave the small box near the pillow area. And mouhamed ( hope I didn’t spell his name wrong) he remembered from the day I checked in with my friends and helped me on the directions before I check out. It’s all the tiny little things that makes you feel welcoming. This is a short stay which I haven’t tried the spa this time. Definitely will come here when visiting Lyon again.
Rain C — Google review
We truly enjoyed our stay at Boscolo Lyon Hotel & Spa. From the moment we arrived, the reception team and doormen were incredibly welcoming and friendly, which set a great tone for our visit. The room was beautiful and well-appointed, with a bed that was exceptionally comfortable. perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring Lyon. Room service was another highlight: fast, efficient, and always delivered with a smile. Everything ran smoothly… except for one issue we encountered with the laundry service, which didn’t meet the same high standards as the rest of the hotel. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend Boscolo Lyon for a luxurious and relaxing stay in the heart of the city.
Abdulrahman A — Google review
The rooms are a bit kitsch but very clean and beautiful, and the location is truly amazing. However, while the hotel presents itself as 5 stars, it doesn’t quite deliver. The spa is tiny and not very clean, and during our stay the fire alarm went off at midnight, forcing everyone outside. Only after asking did we receive breakfast as a gesture. Breakfast itself was delicious, but the service was lacking — most tables were left dirty and not ready for guests. Overall, the hotel has great potential and could be something special, but the staff and service still have a long way to go.
N N — Google review
Having a meeting with someone staying at the hotel, I didn't want to take a taxi, so I asked at reception if they had a driver available. The receptionist called a very unpleasant one, dressed completely unprofessionally for a private driver, and who refused to give me a bill , surprising coming from this hotel. I do not recommend this service at the Boscolo
Cyr I — Google review
Amazing time at the hotel we were there for 2D3N and I wish we could’ve stayed longer. For starters the service was amazing only downside being they were out of toast after we ordered but they apologized for it. After check in they took our bags to our rooms which the design was great having showers but no bathtub. For the room a downside was the bathroom didn’t lock. For entertainment the had cable tv and a iPad which we could order service and search the web. The downside being expensive. Since it was our anniversary they gave us complimentary champagne and macarons. Other things that were complimentary were soda water, water, and chocolate. Beds were comfy and high quality. Next was the breakfast. Breakfast was free being a mix of a buffet and a restaurant not much to say about the restaurant otherwise. The location is amazing right next to a river and the train station with many restaurants behind being a 7 minute walk. There were also many murals only a half an hour walk. Next is the spa the hotel has is NOT complimentary but the spa itself was amazing as well as there being a pool to relax in which you didn’t have to pay for. Overall great with the only downside being pricy.
Barna S — Google review
Great location to walking distance to shops, bars and right of the middle. Rooms clean , big and well maintained. We were in the sixth floor and was very quiet. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful . Restaurant Angelo inside had a delicious food . You have to try it !! Service sensational . We really enjoyed our stayed there

Hotel
Nestled in a historic late 1800s building on Lyons Presquile, Hotel Carlton Lyon - MGallery Hotel Collection exudes sophistication and charm. The hotel's prime location offers stunning views of the bustling square and easy access to cafes, restaurants, luxury shops, and cultural institutions. Indulge in hearty French cuisine at the on-site restaurant or explore nearby attractions such as Place Bellecour and Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourviere.
I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Carlton Lyon! Everyone was incredibly pleasant, they even spoke french with me despite my french level being fairly bad. The bed was comfortable, the size of the room was bigger than expected and I had everything I needed for my stay. The lounge serves excellent cocktails and is very well decorated. I don't know Lyon well but I thought the location was excellent for getting around to everywhere I went. I would definitely consider staying again if I come back to Lyon
Brianne K — Google review
We had the best experience living here with my family. We were all warmly welcomed and our kids were offered sweets and macaroons by the kind team of the hotel. Marie offered exceptional service and ensured our stay was as comfortable as possible. Upon asking about actives for the kids, she wrote a well thought, hand written note for kids. This is definitely the best service we have experienced on our stay in France.
Saadia K — Google review
Update! I was very disappointed that the hotel insisted I pay extra just to get a bed long enough to actually fit me — something that should be basic, not an upgrade. The policy itself felt unreasonable and left a bad impression. The only reason I adjusted my rating is Kevin (or Kelin) at the front desk. He was attentive, patient, and genuinely tried to do the maximum within the limits he had. Thanks to his professionalism and attitude, what started as a very negative experience became at least easier to accept. First night of a 4-night stay, and I’ve already learned the secret to using the bed: you only fit if you sleep with your head literally pressed against the wall. At 180 cm tall, the so-called 190 cm bed leaves my feet sticking out. Honestly, it feels closer to 188—maybe less. When I asked reception, they confirmed without hesitation: “Yes, that’s the bed size for this room type.” As if the ability to actually fit an adult body is some kind of optional upgrade. The logic is brilliant: either sacrifice your pillow and glue your skull to the wall, or accept that your legs will live outside the blanket. They suggested maybe tomorrow I could move rooms—for an extra fee, of course. Because clearly, asking for a bed that fits isn’t included in the original price. The tone was condescending, the answers short and dismissive, as if I was simply being a nuisance. She spoke as though the issue was my imagination And while they insist the bed size is “listed,” I checked the website. It isn’t. Then again, who expects to book a hotel while cross-checking furniture measurements like a carpentry project? So here I am, starring in the absurd nightly game: “Head on the Wall or Feet in the Cold?” Tip for future guests: if you’re taller than 180 cm, beware—this bed simply won’t fit you. Must pay more!

Excellent service and we really enjoyed the spa. The room lacked a coffee machine and the TV could not stream Amazon Prime (its casting software seems outdated). Breakfast was great and everything was sound proof. I wish the area in the bar was open all throughout the day. Would definitely come back again.
Reuben R — Google review
Really satisfied with the hotel, stayed for 3 nights in this stylish and cosy room with plenty amenities, staffs are polite, friendly, professional and extremely helpful which the valet helped us with bring our luggage all the way even to the racket. Bar staff explained different choices of beverage to me thoroughly. Location is also impeccable. Sitting right in the centre of the Peninsula allows us to return to the room and change wear between itineraries. All in all very impressed and appeased.
陳逸俊 — Google review
The carlton lyon was perfect. I've read that the bathrooms are small. Maybe just a little bit, but it had a nice oversized walk-in shower, which was heavenly with the rain shower can. The Room itself was a decent size. AC worked great. Room was clean and modern and the Double twin even had a small balcony. No Street noise or hotel ambient noise whatsoever. The staff was very friendly. Nice bar, elevator and wide stairs for those that chose to walk.
Steven R — Google review
We had an exceptional stay at the hotel Carlton Lyon. Everybody especially Mary and Samuel went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and enure our stay is memorable. Will definitely be back.
Ali H — Google review
The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. However, the hotel itself was very worn...including rugs, stairways, dining room and our suite. Additionally, of the three nights, there was no turn down service or exchange of towels! The configuration of the room was also VERY odd. We had a very small "toilet room" which was in the entrance hall to our room (behind two doors) We then needed to go to the bathroom where there was the sink and tub and shower! The furniture in the room was very old as well.

Villa Maïa is a luxurious five-star hotel located on Fourviere Hill in Lyon, offering posh rooms and suites with stunning city views. The hotel boasts Italian-inspired architecture and modern sophistication, with 27 rooms, 6 suites, and a 100 m apartment featuring Japanese art influences and panoramic views of Mont Blanc.
This hotel is amazing. The team there is so helpful and nice. They will assist you in booking dinner reservations or excursions. The rooms are immaculate, large, bright and, clean. The turn down service was the icing on the cake. The pool is pristine and the other facilities in the pool area are wonderful as well. I cannot recommend this location enough. We had am amazing time in Lyon and being able to come back to this oasis in the evening was just divine. Thank you for an incredible stay.

Category: Fine hotel. We booked this 5-star hotel through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts. It is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. It sits on the hillside, about halfway between the city below and the church at the top, and a short walk from the ruins of a Roman amphitheater. It was everything we expected it to be and everything that it should be. The level of service was exceptional, from opening taxi doors when we arrived, to leading us through the door that bypasses the revolving door, to remembering our name as we come and go, to having our key ready upon return, and many other small kindnesses that, together, make a hotel great. All of the concierges were great. We worked mainly with François, whose pride in his Gold Keys beams. He’s like a character from The Grand Budapest Hotel, but real and impressively knowledgeable, connected, efficient, and likeable. We recommend starting to work with him (or his colleagues) long before you check in, as Sarah did, which eliminates the risk of not being able to get a reservation at the last minute. Also, it’s easy to research and book restaurants online, but nothing compares to the local knowledge and tips that a concierge can provide, as Francois provided to us. Our room was perfect, with a spacious marble-appointed bathroom and shower room, tub with a window into the bedroom room (and a motorized blind), king-sized bed, comfy chair, bottomless fresh water in beautiful glass bottles, and a furnished terrace. Breakfast was offered in a sunny breakfast room with a terrace and a few outdoor tables. Outside the breakfast room is a lounge/ library, across from which is a small bar and lounge. The bar lounge also has a balcony with a few outdoor tables that overlook the city below. The hotel also has a spa, which we did not use, and a large indoor pool, which received the coveted SSA (Sarah’s Seal of Approval; she is a swimmer). We had a great stay and highly recommend this hotel. YouTube’s Chef’s Apprentice

This is a beautiful hotel with an exceptional, kind and knowledgeable staff. The facilities were great—large quiet room, comfortable bed, great shower, beautiful heated indoor pool, steam room and sauna. Wonderful grounds. Excellent breakfast. Very close to the Roman theater and museum. And it was easy to reach Vieux Lyon (sights, restaurants, bars). About a 5 minute walk to the Saint Just stop of the F1 funicular—use this instead of the much more crowded F2 that goes to Fourviere.

A lovely, comfortable stay at Villa Maia with exceptional concierge service. Julien was incredible with his welcoming personal recommendations when we arrived. He secured bookings for dinner reservations, car transfers, and local sites. The Tetedoie restaurant with its bistrot and rooftop across the way has a remarkable view overlooking the city. This hotel has seasoned, hospitable staff that are proficient in English too; highly recommend Villa Maia.

We booked same day and had such a great stay. The staff is extremely attentive and kind. The rooms were luxurious with extremely good views if youre on the city side

There’s nothing like a warm welcome and deeply curious staff, invested in their craft and your experience. We arrived to a beautiful hotel and a team that wanted to know about us, genuinely curious, led by the remarkable Francois who, once he learned that we were going to walk the Puy, shared an enthusiasm that was infectious. That the rooms are gorgeous is almost a given. They are. As are the pool and bar. Francois embodies grace. Wow.

Nestled in the historic Vieux Lyon, Cour des Loges Lyon, A Radisson Collection Hotel is a refined 5-star property known for its beautiful Renaissance-era architecture. The hotel features a spa with an indoor pool, sauna, hammam, and hot tub. Guests can enjoy a chic restaurant and casual bistro on-site. The opulently decorated air-conditioned rooms and suites offer luxury amenities including minibars, flat-screen TVs with free entertainment, and room service.
Came to this hotel after a terrible choice prior and we are so glad we did. The hotel had a beautiful ambiance, historic and welcoming all the same. The rooms are unique, clean and comfortable. The location is unbeatable in the heart of the old village. The staff was wonderful. Special shout out to Lucy at reception who made our experience possible. Great experience and I would return in a heartbeat.

Enjoyed a most wonderful stay in this hotel. Super kind and helpful staff. Very comfortable room. Valet parking perfect. We will return for sure! Only minus point is the breakfast for 39 euros per person which is rather steep. But there are ample options around the hotel.

What a wonderful place in the old town. The hotel is excellent, and I highly recommend staying here if you are in Lyon (avoid driving, it is better to take a cab). It is truly one of the most beautiful places in the city. The bars and restaurants are perfect, offering great food and drinks in a stylish atmosphere. The service is outstanding warm, professional, and attentive. It’s the ideal spot whether you’re visiting for business or leisure.

This hotel is a gem, so beautiful and comfortable. The staff is professional, kind and accommodating, the rooms are beautiful, the food is excellent. It’s a grand old hotel that has been updated, and you can meander through many different areas and sitting rooms, all perfectly appointed. I highly recommend.
Sarah G — Google review
The hotel is perfectly located, the staff are amazing. The reason for 4 stars is twofold. The rooms are very small and very dark, even though nicely decorated. The 2nd reason is that it is very expensive, given the room sizes - think Paris rates. It is a genuinely nice hotel but the room rate was up there.
Paul D — Google review
We checked in quite late by car which is a bit of a challenge, as this hotel is located in the old town section with limited driving. A code is required for vehicle entry and driving instructions provided from hotel staff were excellent, parking a breeze. Upon check in, we were warmly welcomed by staff members who even upgraded our room without us even requesting it. This hotel is an old building located in the old town section that has recently reopened after a few years. We stayed only 1 night, and the hotel felt like a bit of a maze as I walked around to get my bearings. Our room was accessed by going up a flight of stairs then down a flight of stairs which could be a bit of a challenge for anyone physically disabled. There is an elevator in the hotel. We found our room to be quite large, with amazing beams across the ceiling (very medieval castle) well appointed and quiet. There are double paned windows followed by single pane interior window to help keep out sounds from outside. Bathroom was large, clean but a bit worn which was surprising considering the refurbishment, but I think the rooms were redone and some items in the bathroom were not changed out, hence the 4.5 stars for the room. Would definitely stay again, loved the location close to all attractions and the amazing staff!

I received an email with just two days’ notice that the Cour des Loges would be canceling my reservation. While they have refunded my rooms, no additional concessions were made for the inconvenience. I found this to be truly unprofessional, as the company must have known in at least a week in advance that the rooms would not be available… we are now scrambling to find lodging. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I know.

Absolutely top top hotel. I have a 100 nights out on hotels yearly and the attention to the customer on this one is second to none. From valet service, reception, bistro, room service, breakfast restaurant, cleaning, bar, management. Can not praise this place enough, on top the hotel just went through a magical renovation. A very speciel place.

Sofitel Lyon Bellecour is a luxurious 5-star hotel located in the heart of Lyon, just a short walk from Place Bellecour. The hotel offers stunning views of the river, Les Trois Domes & 3rd arrondissement. Guests can enjoy upscale French dining at the Michelin-starred restaurant and relax at Bar Le Melhor with panoramic city views. The hotel features a wellness center and fully-equipped gym for guests to unwind.
We stayed in the hotel last week and we enjoyed the location. We were also happy to fit our large truck into the underground car park. The hotel room was very good. We loved the comfortable bed and the table in the room where my husband and I could work on properly. The shower was great and I personally loved the bathroom amenities. the hotel room was very clean and we thank the housekeeping team for their hard work. We loved the flower display in the entrance. The flowers and colours made me happy. We loved the silk scarfs and ties all over the hotels. The view from the breakfast room was fabulous. We could not eat in the restaurant as it was closed on Sunday but we found a fabulous brasserie around the corner. Thanks.

A superb location and in general very friendly staff. The hotel must be built in the seventies and people have kept trying to update the building but lets be honest this an old building and the lobby is a complete mess and confusion for a so called French luxury hotel. Breakfast was excellent and the bar is very nice. The gym is in a function room with a few bits of equipment dotted around….. The rooms need a big upgrade but amenities are fine. As stated a great location and overall good value…. Cheers

The Sofitel hotel in Lyon is ideally located in the heart of the city, making it easy to walk to the historic old town across the Rhône River, as well as to the ticket booth for boat tours and other nearby attractions. The hotel rooms provided comfortable and restful sleep, thanks to the high-quality mattresses. The blackout blinds effectively darkened the room completely, ensuring a peaceful and quiet environment for a good night’s rest. The service is exceptional and attentive, enhancing the overall guest experience. The hotel offers a complimentary minibar featuring unique items, such as thyme-flavored popcorn, adding a special touch. Additionally, guests receive a crafted box of chocolates that highlights Lyon’s reputation as a gastronomic capital, reflecting the city’s rich culinary heritage.

We had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Lyon Bellecour. The warm welcome, the comfort of the room, and the thoughtful touches made our visit truly enjoyable. Stayed a few days in Lyon with my family (wife/toddler son) as we make our way back to Cambodia. My wife is Khmer / Cambodian and she always wanted to experience France, so this was the trip of her life time. The Hotel is great from the staff greeting you, to the elegantly well maintained hotel room. You can’t go wrong here. The location was a short walk from several playgrounds that my toddler son greatly appreciated. Have to say of all the cities in Europe or France, Lyon is my favorite.

From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The bellboy immediately unloaded our car with a friendly chat, allowing us as a family to fully focus on checking in. Afterwards, a very kind lady welcomed us and personally guided us to the elevator. The hotel’s interior may be a bit dated, but everything is well-kept and spotless. Breakfast was good for this class; the coffee wasn’t really to my taste, but that’s a personal matter. What truly stood out was the stunning view from the breakfast room at the top – absolutely amazing and will be back.
Cees V — Google review
This hotel is tired and rundown. It was apparently chic in the 70’s and looks like it hasn’t been updated since. The rooms are shabby with dirty old carpet, slippery, uneven floors, and mold in the bathroom. The full restaurant was closed for the season with very limited selection. Room service was entirely inedible. Maid service left dirty cups behind. The only reason I give this place any stars is that the Concierge, Valentin, was excellent! Its location is also good with many restaurants within walking distance. There is a new manager there who was responsive. Hopefully he can turn this place around.
Julie R — Google review
Very disappointing experience! I already paid the full amount for my stay through a travel agency and paid €100 cash for parking. After checking out one day earlier, the hotel charged my card €886.05 and another €30 without any explanation or invoice. I contacted them but received no clear justification for these unauthorized charges. This is unacceptable and unprofessional for a 5-star hotel like Sofitel. I strongly advise future guests to double-check their bills before and after checkout. I sent many emails, but they never responded!!

Modern hotel next to the river. We had a spacious room with a good bed and an excellent shower. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was good. There is a car park below the hotel and a tram stop to the city center close by.

Sarah L — Google review
As a tourist wanting to be close to local (not mall) restaurants this is not optimal. The walking path down river is OK but not as nice as near downtown. Great if you want to be close to the Confluence museum, which is worth the trip but not worth staying near. The biggest issue is that entrance is not well designed. There is an elevator at the back of a non-descript foyer without signage that stands out from the surroundings. The area in front of the foyer looks unkempt and industrial instead of inviting. The room was fine and the restaurant looks out over the river and so was nice. It's about 3 blocks from the tram so if you have a lot of luggage you will want to take a taxi.
Karl M — Google review
Great place to stay, very close to the river for a nice run in the morning. Great location because of the proximity to T1 and T2, and good place for family beacause of the mall and the activities there.
Sahil K — Google review
Key challenge is the lift!! Only one is working - extremely inefficient. And you need the lift already at entrance level to get to reception. Stairs are only for guests so impossible to use them if you have not yet checked in. It's also impossible to access the parking from the 0 level (entrance level) - you need to get to reception (2nd level) and even then it goes up before going done. Dreadful! The instructions for the use of A/C in the room is unclear and in any case, it didn't work as instructed. Disappointing. Fish served at dinner was overcooked and had fishbones. Otherwise, nice location and spacey room.

Room is good with a river view, just the air conditioning was not strong enough. It's good for family. There is also an on-site car park.

The InterContinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu is a luxurious and contemporary hotel located in the heart of Lyon's 2nd arrondissement. With stunning views of the river and the 3rd arrondissement, this elegant hotel offers a sanctuary for those seeking luxury while being close to Lyon's main attractions. The hotel is housed in an 18th-century building and features spacious, bright rooms and suites with modern design elements.
Very nice looking building with lots of history. The whole property has many other retails. It is central located, close to all major spots. The room is clean, bathroom is big enough. Bed is form. The only two small area are 1) no lounge; 2) duplex suit is little narrow, it would be nice to have the space for a chair or two at the bedroom level.
Dana K — Google review
I would not stay at this hotel again. The building is beautiful and the location is the best in the city. The staff are all very friendly and none of this can be faulted. The experience of the stay is far below the standard of what is acceptable, however, especially for what should be a premium experience. In staying here for 5 nights, on the first night I was locked in the gym at midnight and unable to gain access back to the hotel due to security staff locking the gates. This was followed subsequently by an extremely long fire evacuation the following day with deafening fire alarms in the room placed directly next to the work desk. On the final night, they held a private function at the restaurant blasting music until midnight on a Tuesday, directly below my room. If you do not pay extra for a river view, you will be at the mercy of these events in courtyard facing rooms. When I voiced this concern to the front desk, their response was simply “oh, your room is above the restaurant, sorry about that”. The bed also had an enormous, hard ridge in the middle where two single beds had been pushed together, which was very uncomfortable. This hotel has great potential but was a big let down. There’s likely a lottery of which room you get and what’s happening at the hotel when you stay, but for a high end hotel at a premium price, it’s disappointing. Beautiful building on the outside, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Wow, wow, wow. This hotel is amazing. Not only the incredible building but the staff are awesome! They are all so friendly and make you feel very welcome. Le Dome bar is one of the greatest anywhere in the world. Nothing can compare! The rooms are gorgeous and very large. Breakfast is first class. We will return when we comeback to Lyon.

We had a wonderful stay. The room was fantastic and the service impeccable! The receptionists were very helpful and welcoming. They made us feel as their guests and not as simple clients. The proximity of the hotel to the city centre was also another advantage. We could go to all our destinations on foot. Highly recommend hotel!!!

I've stayed here a few times, and it's a great place. The location offers fantastic views of the river, is ideal for a walk or run, and is close to the majority of Lyon's greatest restaurants. The room service was excellent, and the rooms are immaculate. If you have to work, WiFi is excellent. I will most certainly return here.
Rajasekhar N — Google review
An exceptional stay in the heart of Lyon! I booked a courtyard view and loved the blend of elegance and tranquility. From here, you can easily walk to Vieux Lyon, the riverside, and the city’s vibrant markets — the location is truly unbeatable. Service was warm and professional, and even the in-room dining exceeded expectations. As someone who stays at InterContinentals worldwide, this property is among my favorites: refined accommodations, excellent food, and the perfect base to experience the best of Lyon. Traveler Tip: Courtyard rooms are peaceful and quiet, but you’re only steps away from all the action of Lyon’s historic center.
Michelle S — Google review
We had a nice view of the river. The carpet in some of the other rooms had a certain smell. Although it could be cleaning products, it was still a strong scent. The staff were all very polite and friendly. Overall, I’m quite pleased with our stay here.

I finally had a chance to go over our trip review. This has been on my mind for a while—finally got to it Book via Trip.com Booking no. 1658102861379793 30 - 31 July The check-in went smoothly until the receptionist told us that we had requested a non-AC room (with the AC to be disconnected during our stay), supposedly based on a note from Trip.com. I told the receptionist that I definitely did not make such a request—especially not in the middle of summer—and asked to see the note from Trip.com. They couldn’t show me the note and instead claimed that, since I was now denying the request, the note had already been removed. We were initially checked into a room with a non-functional AC, and the hotel assured us that a technician would be sent to reboot the AC. Despite several follow-up calls, no one arrived. Eventually, we were moved to another room where the AC was already functioning. However, we had to move our luggage ourselves, as no assistance was offered by the hotel staff. The whole situation felt suspicious. It seemed like the receptionist was trying their luck by placing us in a non-AC room. What’s even more ironic is that the new room had a welcome note addressed to me, while the non-AC room was completely bare, with no such note. Our experience during this stay with IHG was quite disappointing. In fact, even the porter expressed concern about the non-functioning AC when delivering our luggage, which highlighted the lack of proactive attention from the hotel staff. The hotel staff came across as insincere and pretentious.

Hôtel Le Royal Lyon - MGallery is a prestigious 5-star hotel ideally located on the Bellecour square in the heart of Lyon. Since its establishment in 1912, it has been an integral part of the city's historical heritage and has hosted numerous personalities. The rooms and suites offer a perfect blend of elegance and comfort, providing stunning views of Bellecour square or Vieux-Lyon.
Great location overlooking the Place Bellecour - good neighborhood for walking to either river, easy access to the funicular up to the cathedral. Staff is great, breakfast is pricey but it offers everything you want and it’s top quality. If you spring for a corner suite you’ll love it!

Very nice hotel with a great location close to the old town and city center. The room was fine, but there was no door or screen for the shower in the bathroom, making it impossible to shower without getting the entire room wet. The staff were really helpful and attentive. Breakfast offered a good selection of options, including eggs made to order. The staff in the breakfast room were friendly, but sometimes a little too eager to help — they should give guests a moment to settle in and consider their options.

My wife and I stayed here in August. The staff were absolutely wonderful - the epitome of courtesy, service, friendliness. The location is superb for walking to all major attractions in Lyon. Old town is just down the street to the west and across the bridge. Fourviere hill is easily accessed there via the funicular. The hotel is across the street from Place Bellecour plaza. The room was a bit small but typical of what we have experienced in France. The bath was actually spacious. The highlight was the staff and their attention to every detail. Thank you for making our stay in Lyon so wonderful.

The hotel is centrally located and provides easy access to the main attractions and landmarks of Lyon. The service provided by all the employees was excellent . On the other hand I can’t say the same for the quality of the bedding or cleanliness of the rooms. I don’t understand why it’s a 5 star hotel. To my view it’s more like a 3 star. I think the Association that assigned it the 5 stars has to revisit the hotel. There were countless amount of scuff marks on the walls, the carpets were stained, there was dust on furniture and baseboards of hallways and rooms. Some of the furniture looked old. The bed was very uncomfortable and it felt like they just layer down a pair of think blankets under the sheets to make it feel more cushiony. The bathroom sink was broken, The tub was stained, the furniture was broken, etc. I would not stay at this hotel again. The other two couples I was traveling with had the same complaints.

The 22 rooms offer views of a delightful courtyard and are adorned with antique furniture, decorative fireplaces, and toile wallpaper. The accommodations are conveniently located within reach of attractions such as Parc de la Tete d'Or and Carnot Square.
Very charming hotel with large bedrooms in a traditional building. Location is brilliant, right in the centre of Lyon, with superb public transport links close at hand. Breakfast was delicious, and a bit different the standard french breakfast of croissants. Staff were really helpful and pleasant, and lovely to find a kettle in the bedroom. A great find

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Bayard. The location is fantastic, the staff were attentive, and the facility is beautiful, with spacious accommodations and carefully curated vintage decor throughout. By far, one of the most uniquely decorated and furnished hotels I have stayed. Breakfast was wonderful as well. My only complaint is on the cleanliness of the room. It was apparent that the floors had not been cleaned in some time; a simple vacuum and mop would have done the trick. Otherwise, a pleasant stay and would recommend.

A delightfully quaint hotel in a fabulous location. It is tucked away on Place Bellecour - felt like travelling back in time when we entered. Such fun! Staying at this special hotel requires one to just let go and allow oneself to escape to a bygone era. A real period gem, this lovely hotel does its utmost to replicate the France of the past. Whilst some might not find the rooms as practical, if you want somewhere to stay that has flair yet is still very comfortable, this is the place. Special thanks to Stefania and Pierre who both work very hard to make this place a special stay for the guests. The breakfast room was gorgeous, loads of charm and a nice way to start the day. Location is perfect - an easy walk to all the main sights in lovely Lyon. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Grand Hôtel Des Terreaux is a luxurious hotel located in a prime shopping area of Lyon, just steps away from the public square 'Place des Terreaux'. Its chic art deco style complements the historic setting, and many rooms offer lovely views of the bustling street outside.
We stayed at this hotel for only two nights, we were greeted by the NICEST & KINDEST receptionist Marwane. Also, the hotel lends you umbrellas when it’s raining outside which is so cute. The pool was honestly great, I don’t understand all the bad comments about it bahahha we loved it. Breakfast is good, nothing crazy but everything you need for a good continental breakfast :) Best location ever, we walked to le Vieux Lyon & you’re not so far from shopping centers. I’d say the only downside about this hotel is that there is no fridge/coffee/water in the rooms.

A deeply disappointing and unprofessional experience – avoid this hotel At 9:00 AM, my husband and I left the hotel briefly to have breakfast at a nearby café. Shortly thereafter, we received a voicemail from the hotel receptionist accusing us of having left without paying our bill. Upon returning to the hotel, we sought clarification, only to have the accusation repeated to our faces. We reminded the receptionist that check-out was not for another two and a half hours and explained that we had simply gone out for breakfast. Her response was: “You didn’t tell me you were going for breakfast. How was I supposed to know?” When we asked whether she had made similar accusations against other guests that morning, she claimed that all other guests inform her of their whereabouts when leaving the premises—a highly implausible and, we believe, dishonest statement. When we requested her name, she refused to provide it. Only after repeated inquiries did she tell us her name was “Grace,” though we have strong reason to believe this may not be accurate. She also failed to respond when we asked whether she had seen us leave with luggage (we had not) or whether she had checked the room (she had not). Nor did she explain why she made no mention of this supposed concern when we dropped our key at the front desk, as required by the hotel. The following day, we sent a detailed email to the hotel director, Madame Estelle Baumann, explaining the situation. We received no reply. A week later, we sent a polite follow-up, stating that we were holding off on publishing a public review in case she wished to respond. To date, we have received no acknowledgment. Given this continued silence, we feel a responsibility to inform other travelers. In terms of the general quality of the hotel, we can only echo other critical reviews. This establishment does not meet the standards of a four-star hotel. The rooms are small, stuffy, and lacking many of the amenities one would reasonably expect. For example, there was no functioning air conditioning—despite warm temperatures during our stay in late April in southern France. The reception informed us that AC would not be available until summer, a claim contradicted by other guest reviews. It appears the hotel simply removes the remote controls until they see fit to return them. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had in over 200 stays across Europe. Never before have we been falsely accused of attempting to leave without paying, simply for stepping out for breakfast before check-out. For travelers visiting Lyon, we strongly recommend considering alternative accommodations. There are excellent three-star options in the city that offer courteous, professional service and great value. For those seeking four- or five-star experiences, many quality choices are available in the area. However, we advise against staying at this establishment, as it does not live up to its advertised star rating.

We had a great stay. Great location. Rooms were decent enough — only I would agree with over reviews that this isn’t a four star hotel. We had limited interactions with the staff. We didn’t take breakfast. So for us, it was an easy trip with no surprises.

A deeply disappointing and unprofessional experience At 9:00 AM, my wife and I left the hotel briefly to have breakfast at a nearby café. Only after repeated inquiries did she give us a name, though we have strong reason to believe this may not be accurate. She also failed to respond when we asked whether she had seen us leave with luggage (we had not) or whether she had checked the room (she had not). Nor did she explain why she made no mention of this supposed concern when we dropped our key at the front desk, as required by the hotel. In terms of the general quality of the hotel, we can only echo other critical reviews. This establishment does not meet the standards of a four-star hotel. The rooms are small, stuffy, and lacking many of the amenities one would reasonably expect. This hotel is very well located in the city center. There's an excellent grocery store directly across the street which was helpful for buying water, wine, and some snacks to keep in our room. We stayed in Room 204 and it was at the end of the hall, away from the elevator. Even though it was street-facing, it was very quiet and we had a mini fridge which was great. I would have loved an in-room Nespresso machine. The staff were all very kind- helping arrange taxis, providing restaurant recommendations, directions, etc. Rooms are very clean, and you get a nice bathrobe to use. Pool was interesting, but a bit odd. The rooms are small and furniture is outdated. I was surprised how small our room was - the front desk employee did offer to move us to a larger room, but we would've had to wait 1-2 days and we decided to stay in our room since we'd already started to unpack and didn't have the energy to move everything.

We very much enjoyed staying at the Grand Hotel Des Terreaux in Lyon. From its convenient location to the spacious rooms, excellent breakfast and great service, our stay was pleasant and comfortable.

2025 UPDATE: Sadly a hotel in decline with multiple issues. Had to change rooms do to a non working air-conditioned, second room a/c started leaking water at midnight all over the desk and our electronics. Little things such as no glasses in the rooms only paper cups, makes it feel more like a two star hotel than the four it claims. A historic hotel that dates from 1855, with some of the old world charm still found in its décor and architecture. The location is excellent, close to both Old Lyon, Place des Terreaux, the Saone river, and walking distance to many of the sights and restaurants of peninsula Lyon. The pool complex is--- really for small children, watch your head on stones if you do use it...

The pet-friendly four-star hotel offers colorful and relaxed rooms and suites with amenities such as flat-screen TVs, safety deposit boxes, and wardrobes. It's a really nice hotel in the middle of Lyon. We stayed here over the weekend to visit a rock concert and exploring Lyon. Tram and subway stations are very close. The inner city is not far away and can be reached just within a little walk. The rooms have been really clean. Beside bathroom and a separate toilette within the room, there is also little kitchen inside, which we haven't used. The beds are really comfortable. Breakfast has been good as well. The hotel stuff is awesome. They are always really friendly and helpful. It is also possible to book a secured parking slot for your vehicle within the hotel garage. The price of the hotel is suitable as well for the location. I recommend to book earlier in order to get cheaper prices. All in all a hotel I would definitely book again.

Well equipped and tidy rooms. Room service was daily although stated otherwise. Good location, 30min walk to the old town center. Own locked underground parking garage. Breakfast good and ok, except scrambled eggs. Friendly and helpful staff.

A great option for people who want to be close to the city centre yet have a quiet place to sleep. The people at reception were kind and helpful and the studio hotel units are well equipped. Would definitely recommend it and would book a stay here again.

The location is ideal. Across from the train station. Walking distance to many restaurants, Place de la Comedie (the Comedy Square) and the shopping mall. Laundry facility was not usable.

Great hotel in a good location, with sufficient AC, quiet and clean rooms with kitchenette, nice bed with a firm mattress. Polite and helpful front desk service. There was a good breakfast selection (although there were no vegetables). Convenient, but very tight underground parking.

We stayed 3 nights while attending the Taylor Swift concert. This was an easy location to get to from the train station. Front desk staff were great, and breakfast was good. The room was comfortable with a nicely sized bathroom. The only downside was that the mattresses on the beds were a little too firm for our liking.

The Basilica of Notre Dame of Fourvière is a 19th-century religious monument in Lyon, France. It features four octagonal towers and houses a museum showcasing religious art. Regular Catholic services are held at the basilica. Visitors can enjoy a romantic evening in Lyon by staying at the Boudoir Spa, which offers luxurious accommodations with amenities such as a Jacuzzi and hammam, providing an ideal setting for special occasions or simply spending quality time together.
You can see the Basilica from almost everywhere in the Lyon old town but it is well worth heading up to see it up close. Take the funicular (walking back down is nice) to get there. The Basilica is in such lovely condition. The murals look amazing and there is a real sense of peacefulness. Make sure you take the time to look closely at the murals. My favourite was the one depicting Joan of Arc. We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too busy. We didn't have to wait to go in. It is free to visit. There is a lovely courtyard next to the Basilica where you get some amazing views over Lyon.
Craig C — Google review
The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière is one of Lyon’s most iconic landmarks, visible from almost anywhere in the city. Personally, I usually find the interiors of Orthodox churches more spiritual, but this basilica’s interior really amazed me — it’s beautiful and inspiring. The exterior is just as impressive, and the panoramic view over Lyon from the top is fantastic. You can get there easily by tram, or hike up if you prefer (which I’d also recommend). Nearby, the Roman Theatre and archaeological site are free to visit and very well preserved. Both the basilica and the ruins are definitely worth seeing.
Dimitris — Google review
Arriving late evening in Lyon, our Uber driver took us here on a quick detour to our hotel ‘because it is so very beautiful, and you guys can see view of Lyon skyline from there’. Indeed it was a beautiful Basilica, majestic even in the dark of night. Indeed it was an impressive view of Lyon. Very grateful of him, blessed his soul. I got the chance to go back the next morning, and although did not got the chance to go inside, my appreciation grew even more about the opportunity to visit. A must go when you are in Lyon. If your hotel is not nearby, they have tram from the city center that stops directly in front.

Lovely place to visit in Lyon. Get a day ticket for € 6.90 and couple of trains later you are there. Beautiful views of the city (sunset as well). Basilica is amazing. Don't compare it with Vatican however it is grand in its own way.

It is a marvelous place to visit even when you are not Christian. The interior of the basilica Notre-Dame of Fourvière in Lyon, is tremendously high. The walls are astonishing and it drops your mouth down to the floor. I have not taken many pictures inside because my eyes were focused on all the tiny details in each stunning things my eyes would lay eyes on. If one thing to visit in Lyon, it clearly is there and Paul Bocuse Market^^.
Anne-Cécile — Google review
What a beautiful basilica one has the pleasure to see, adore and to participate because during our vist a mass was held. The church has an endless history to show, not only in the holy Christian sense but also in its rich architectural designs. A real treat to be there.

Definitely recommend booking a tour to see the rooftop. Amazing view of Lyon. So many gems to see and learn about how the cathedral was built. Who knew so much goes on on the rooftop and top floors of the basilica?
Heidi F — Google review
The basilica can be accessed by foot but we took the funicular up and walked on the way down. It’s a very beautiful place of worship and offers wonderful views of Lyon from the viewing area next to it. It’s also worth visiting the Roman ruins which are a short walk from the basilica.

Nestled in the vibrant city of Lyon, the Novotel Lyon Gerland Musée des Confluences offers a delightful blend of comfort and convenience. This hotel features an informal restaurant, a serene garden, an inviting outdoor pool, and a well-equipped gym for those looking to stay active during their travels.
We had a fantastic stopover and stay here at the Novotel Lyon – and what really made it special was the attentive service from Diane. Her warm and thoughtful attitude really stood out, and the fact that she communicated with us in German made us feel truly understood and welcome. Big thanks to her for making our short stay such a positive experience!

Overall stay didn't have the 4 star feel. The checkin with Alicia was great. However, the comfort and cleanliness of the room, beds was average at best! There is no minibar, the fridge is empty. Not even a pack of cookies with the tea/coffee sachets. At checkout- i was charged the wrong amount and even when i shared the booking invoice they said it will be fixed but still charged the incorrect amount to my credit card which i had to then go back to the hotel to ask for a refund. Also being an ALL member doesnt mean anything unless you book the stay through their own website/app. No loyalty points collected. There are a lot better options in the price point that I ignored being a member of ALL program.
Farrukh A — Google review
This hotel is not suited to tourists, unless you have a car. It is remote, there is no decent boulangerie within walking distance. The restaurant will be avoided by most, after trying it once. My biggest concern with this hotel however, is its claim of being a 4 star facility. This is highly misleading. The rooms are miniscule, most of the gym equipment is broken, there was a single power socket on one side of the bed, there was no bottled water. The iron was brought without an ironing board, then when it was chased it transpired the iron was caked in burnt carpet (?) which would have destroyed my shirt. No care given in the service in either inspecting the iron, bringing the board etc. which one expects from a 4*. Towels were given in haphazrd numbers, frequently too few bath towels. Between the very remote location, and the 3* facilities at best, this hotel is not worth €120 per night during peak season. It is akin to an out of town Holiday Inn or Travelodge - for UK readers. The only saving graces of this hotel were that it was newly refurbished, and the standard of cleaning was high, even exceptional. The towels appeared to be boil cleaned, which was a relief, given everything else wrong with this hotel. The bed was a kingsize and relatively comfortable to a man of 110kg, although my petite wife did not enjoy the mattress. To reiterate, this hotel is a 3* and not a 4*. And as a tourist I would sooner have stayed in a 2* had it not been a tram and a metro ride from everything of interest in Lyon. There are some mediocre restaurants about a 10 minute walk away. Avoid the nearest boulangerie, shwarma, 'pizza cozy' all of which were highly disappointing to seasoned british and italian francophiles hoping for some easy going gastronomic dependability. The shwarma place with rave reviews was a particular disappointment, it would not last a month in London. The boulangerie is of service station quality, heating frozen croissants and the like. That meant a decent breakfast was two modes of public transport away. The absence of walkable shops or bottled water (as many tourists will require) left us carrying 6 packs of 2 litre bottles from a large Carrefour 2 tramstops away. The hotel provide dubious looking bottle refill stations on each floor by the lift lobby. I know France is not a 3rd world country, but the ubiquitos smell of sewerage emanating from the hotels plant room via mechanical ventillation as you enter the hotel (my children dubbed it 'the shower of stink') left one with little confidence as to the water supplies. This smell also entered the bedroom everytime one used the hot tap to shave. No doubt the hotel will respond aggressively to this stark review as they have to others. The fact is, they are misselling themselves as 4*, and expectations of future discerning guests should be moderated.

In the middle of nowhere. Cant believe this hotel has 4 stars. First morning the staff removed my "do nit disturb sign" let themselves in and tidy up the room. I told reception I do not want incidents like that. The next day the housekeeper kept knocking at the door wanting to do the same EVEN that he had the check-out schedule in his hand! Please - do not respond that "your staff maintains high quality standards" - you dont know what high quality is

We were welcomed very friendly from the waitress Diane. She was very attentive and even spoke to us in our language German very well. We did not sleep at the Novotel but the ibis hotel, that's why I cannot really rate the Novotel. The ibis and the Novotel are together in one complex. I can only rate the service and the location. But the waitress Diane was serving us at the restaurant. Generally the staff is really nice at the two hotels and speak English very well.

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Lyon is a modern and elegant hotel located in the renowned Part Dieu Tower. It offers contemporary rooms with minimalist furnishings and neutral colors, providing stunning city views. The hotel features a grand restaurant serving creative international dishes, as well as a bar and state-of-the-art fitness center.
Very spacious room with stunning view of the city. Great location 8 minutes walk to the Halles Paul Bocuse. On second thought when you pay for your stay make sure the €100 deposit is paid in cash and not via your credit card. And dont listen to the story they tell you at the reception ( like " we have already released the deposit but because of the bank transaction it will take 3 working days"). We are still waiting for the reinbursment after one week. Alone the fact that they tell you up front should tell you they know about their system delay and raise a red flag.
Ettore P — Google review
No plan to visit again despite the stunning view. Communication with the night shift staff over the phone was very difficult. Staff communication skills could be improved - raising their voice at customers and refusing to transfer the call by insisting “talk to me!” felt unprofessional.
Sohee P — Google review
I often stay at Radisson Blu hotels worldwide, but in Lyon I only visited the bar instead of renting a room. The location is convenient, right by Lyon Gare station, making it more of a transit stop for a maximum two-night stay if you’re passing through. The bar offers great city views and is perfect for drinks, but the food was disappointing — below average and far from proper BBQ (they served ketchup with spicy sauce instead). Rooms are clean and classy but overpriced for what they offer, and overall this property feels more about the brand name than the excellent service I’ve experienced at Radisson in the Middle East. Come for the drinks, views, and convenience, not the food.
Rauf S — Google review
Location is excellent. Right beside the city mall and close to the train station that leads to the airport. Room size is okay, although, rooms need renovation as the toilet walls and corners are old. Breakfast room is good news more space and more food options. Price to value ratio is 8/10.
O. ( — Google review
I’ve stayed in a lot of Radissons, and, in fairness, they are never awful, and sometimes very good. I would call myself a Radisson positive person. But if all of them, this was the most disappointing. Starting with a small room, which is clearly designed for the solo business traveller. Not only no in room coffee machine. But of the tea selections - only one of each type. To compound this - they have multiple coffee machines in the reception area- and today 30 September when I was working in reception I was told that NONE of them are working. Plus they have a restaurant that only opens Tuesday-Saturday. Which is the weirdest thing I’ve come across in a hotel anywhere. It was not awful. It was clean, the staff were nice, the location is great for business and the station, mediocre for the tourist trail, but still walkable. It was just - kinda average - hence 3 stars across the board. My 3 for service is more a knock on the timings of the restaurant and the lack of decent coffee than it is against the people.
Michael C — Google review
The location is great, such an easy walk to the train station and near a lot of food. Beds are hard as rock and the pillows are super flat. The view is beautiful. The shower gets water all on the carpet outside the bathroom.
Laura H — Google review
Very convenient from the train station, it's only a 10 minute walk through the mall. Rooms are small but nice, great views, but there is no pool. I would give this hotel 4 stars but the beds need to be upgraded.
Evan F — Google review
The area around the hotel is very dirty and scratchy. That’s why there is a security guard at the ground floor at night. - Very inconvenient when you travel with a car and luggage. The way to the garage is so narrow that we scratched our car and gave up getting into the hotel garage. - emailed the hotel in advance about the parking situation and they did a very poor job explaining and also failed to mention how narrow the path is. - room very small and bad room service (didn’t fill in the tea bags and coffee). - shower head was defective. - compared to other Radisson hotels, this hotel has the worst breakfast. Cold hard boiled eggs and no variety at all. - the elevator situation and only stairs to reach breakfast room are also not ideal.

Mercure has done it again by promoting a 4 star experience and delivering a 2 star hotel room. It appears all the renovations have been put into the lobby to create a veneer of a nice hotel. Go to your room and you will see the difference. Beds were sagging to the side, uncomfortable and old. So if your looking for a good night rest, you may be better off sleeping on the floor.. Room was poorly maintained but was clean. Bathrooms were so small the door barely cleared the toilet. Location is good and front staff were friendly. Other than that I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless you're looking for a mediocre experience with a hefty price tag.
SKT — Google review
Some front desk staff were cold and not so welcoming. At check in there were no mentions of facilities such as swimming pool or gym. There weren’t any bottles of water in room only to find out from other guests you had to get the empty glass bottles by lifts to fill up yourself at various water fountain. This wasn’t explained by staff. Some of the restaurant staff weren’t as welcoming, very stiff and cold, only the one bar staff who was friendly restored our faith in some sort of good customer service as well as the check out staff. Room and bathroom was spacious enough and clean. There isn’t much near hotel in terms of restaurants or shops, just a super U and a few cafes. Overall good enough for what I needed.

Be careful – they charged my card twice! Review: I booked and fully paid for this hotel through Booking.com. However, when I arrived, an additional €660 was charged to my card without any explanation. I only found out the next day — when my card was declined at a restaurant. When I asked the reception about it, they said: “Oh, that was a mistake, sorry.” That’s all — no compensation, no responsibility, no follow-up. Even worse: they didn’t cancel the extra charge until the day I checked out. They held my money the entire time, and never provided written confirmation of the cancellation. I felt completely disrespected. So if you’re considering this hotel, think twice. Your card might be charged unfairly, and all you’ll get is “sorry”. Extremely unprofessional. Avoid.

The hotel does most things well. The restaurant was good for breakfast and for dinner. Good quality food and service. The only downside was that my room (611) suffered from noises made by the lift (ascenseur) operating machinery. This prevented me from sleeping for as long as I wanted. Without that noise the hotel would rate 10/10.

Hôtel Campanile Lyon Berges du Rhone is a modern accommodation option situated in Lyon, offering well-lit rooms equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. The hotel also features a restaurant and bar for the convenience of guests. Conveniently located near popular attractions such as Part Dieu and Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere, this centrally nestled hotel provides easy access to key landmarks in Lyon.
The room was bigger than I thought, which was a great plus. The design of bathroom though was a bit weird, and the water pressure is low. On the second day of my stay, someone knocked the door then quickly opened the door with a room card while I was still in bed. She just said a quick “sorry” and left. I went down to the reception and asked what happened, and the staff simply told me “it could be someone working here” without further investigation or any apologies. On my last day of stay, long before the checkout time, someone knocked on my door several times as well. Still no explanation when I checked out at the reception. Other than that, nothing really to complain about given the good price and location.

Our group recently stayed at Hôtel Campanile Lyon Centre - Berges du Rhône. The location is excellent, close to many of Lyon's top attractions. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome. However, the rooms were somewhat small and lacked a few amenities we expected. The overall experience was average, with some areas for improvement in terms of room comfort and facilities. We'd recommend this hotel for its convenience, but don't expect luxury.
Bon S — Google review
I think the worst thing was the location. It's scary to go out at night, the area feels very unsafe... The rooms have a TV (not Smart) with 4 channels, of which only 1 worked. It's a retro hotel in general; it feels like going to a hotel in the 90s. The service was very poor, not very helpful... I made a change to my reservation weeks before, and it wasn't reflected. They didn't allow me to make changes there either because the system didn't allow it lol The €15 breakfast is an insult to croissants.
Lazarus E — Google review
The hotel was a decent enough place to stay for a short trip. The rooms were clean, but quite basic, lacking features like a safe and a fridge. While my room was fine, my colleague wasn't as impressed with his. The shower temperature was inconsistent though. The breakfast buffet offered a good variety of options. The hotel's location is a bit of a mixed bag. It's close to the river, the main town center, and Chinatown, but there are also some less desirable areas nearby. Overall, the hotel is okay for a budget-friendly stay, but it's not somewhere I'd recommend personally.

So the location is great. That's about it! I will never recommend this hotel. My story in 4 acts: Act 1: upon my arrival I booked my room through their website but forgot my credit card before I went to Lyon, so I politely asked if it was possible to use my bank details I put on the website. Two people were at the desk the guy was helpful and very kind, the girl (with tainted hair) was extremely rude and didn't want to even listen before sending me away. I convinced the nice guy to give me my key room so that I could go on with my work for an hour or 2 before sorting out the money with my bank next to the hotel and he agreed. Act 2: After 1h and some I heard a lock of my room door and didn't know what it was. It turned out they (a certain manager) disabled the room card because when I left and came back to get my phone I was unable to get in. Anyway I sorted it out again with the very helpful man at the desk. Done! money sorted out and everything went in order. Act 3: The following morning I went to have breakfast (very poor I must say) and when I was done and leaving I was accused loudly and publicly by the waitress (?) of stealing a jam container... Yes, a jam container... When I asked what made her say that she showed my earbuds case... Great service ! Act 4: in the afternoon I came back to my room to change, but lucky me, my room card didn't work at the elevator, neither did another couple's card. Thinking the elevator was stuck, o I went to the front desk where only the tainted hair lady was working, I politely waited until she was done with the current client. When I jumped in, waving my card with my eyes asking for help, she very rudely told me : " can't you see there are other people waiting". I couldn't hold it and had to tell her that we are blocking the elevator so it's pointless to continue checking in other customers since they will get stuck in line. In a very rude way she took our cards and said that we were allowed to use the elevator for 1 day (when we booked 2 days, yay!). Except for the helpful guy at the front desk, nothing was ok in that hotel. I wish I had paid extra 10 € and have a decent service

Excellent location near a metro and the berges of the river. Simple, clean rooms. Good breakfast.

When checking in, the staff did not inform me that the room would not be cleaned daily until I asked. As a result, I found myself with a dirty room for a day. They are cutting corners on every expense—you can't even have coffee in your room. The location is impractical, and the staff are unhelpful and impolite! The pic below shows excrements on the wall!

Lagrange Apart'HOTEL - Lyon Lumière offers modern and airy apartments with a rooftop terrace featuring a hot tub and Wi-Fi. This four-star hotel is known for its relaxing spa, wellness center, and beautiful garden. Guests can enjoy continental breakfast, private parking, free Wi-Fi, and a 24-hour front desk. The location is convenient with the city center and Part Dieu station within walking distance or easily accessible by metro.
Nice, comfortable apartment to stay in. Lots of local shops and markets. As a tourist I would say there are better areas to stay in as we were out the way of the old town and tourist attractions, however it is right by the train station and once you have worked out where you need to get to its pretty easy. The staff were helpful, friendly and spike good English. We only had one problem whilst staying here, but the staff member dealt with it quickly and efficiently

Great location close to the metro station. Nice view from the room of the premises. Good staff at reception. However only issue is the sink drain in the kitchen which does not drain the water easily. Everything else was good. Have posted a full room tour and hotel tour video on my youtube channel - The Destination Collective

Very nice hotel. The staff were friendly and they offer free luggage storage. Rooms were clean and ours had a decent sized bathtub. Real working AC! They have a laundry machine and dryer, but it’s 5 euros to wash and another 5 euros to dry.
Zeb B — Google review
The room is amazing, breakfast is reasonable, and the ladies at the breakfast area are very nice and helpful. On the other hand, the front desk people are not well mannered or helpful or corteous(quite the opposite from the ladies downstairs). We interacted with 4 of them and had no luck at all. The location is good, close to the main train station you can walk.

My room was very spacious and actually had two shower areas and a kitchenette, as well as access to the garden courtyard! This hotel is located just a short walk from the Lumière metro station so the location is super convenient. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Nice Apart Hotel but a bit far from town centre I stayed here in March (for a week) and overall enjoyed the hotel. It did not have much in terms of amenities but it did have the essential stuff I really needed. Like a garage. Note the garage is actually quite tight. Manegeable but tight. The room was the highlight as it was really big & I had a balcony, so really appreciated that. It was also great to be able to get the underground to Bellecour. A few stops away. Overall I would recommend this hotel.
Paul V — Google review
Avoid this hotel! The room had mold/mould everywhere in the bathroom. The stench of mold was horrible. The furniture was also falling apart in the bedroom and the kitchen and there were holes in the floor. To make matters worse. The hotel staff promised financial compensation and then never paid anything.

This is one of the worst hotels ive ever been, airconditioning does not work, you dont get another room with working ac. The hotel is muffy and warm, doesnt have some kind of ventilation. The bedroom is fine, the bathroom is filthy, needs a good cleanup especially the walls. Most rooms are like this, dont get fooled with the positive reviews! Come and see ..

Nestled in the vibrant 6th arrondissement, Okko Hotels Lyon Pont Lafayette is a chic and modern retreat that perfectly blends style with comfort. Just a short stroll from cultural gems like the Lyon Opera House and The Museum of Fine Arts, this hotel offers guests stunning views of the Rhone River. Inside, you'll find polished rooms designed for both leisure and business travelers, featuring cozy beds adorned with luxurious Italian linens.
Awesome hotel. Air conditioning worked well which was needed with the heat in June. We had a balcony room and it was absolutely stunning. Free snacks and drinks a real bonus. Late check out was great! Bed was super comfortable and the linen was nice. Staff were lovely. Fantastic location. 10/10

If you are looking for the best hotel in Lyon bang for buck, look no more. As a frequent business traveller, I rarely write reviews. But when a hotel stands out as much as this one, I feel a personal obligation to do so. Throughout my stay, the service was exceptional. To give you an idea, I got to the breakfast buffet at 10h10a.m. and it was closing at 10 precisely, instead of telling me the buffet was closed they let me stay and the person taking care of the buffet there asked me if they could make me extra scrambled eggs because there were none left. There were many other examples of this kind of courtesy that was extended to me during my stay, more in line with a 5-star hotel like the Ritz than what I'd expect at this price range. The rooms were modern, quiet, and the bed sheets very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to any traveller (tourist or for business) as it has exceeded my expectations in every way.
Olivier C — Google review
Located on the river Rhone side, this hotel a five minute leisurely walk to the other side of the river where you will find plenty of fashion shops and places to eat. Walk across the river Saone and you will find many places to eat & drink. The hotel location is excellent if you want to stay away from the bustling streets across the river but close enough that it is only a short walk. The hotel offers a club service completely free of charge wheee you can have various teas and coffees, pastries and savoury snacks 24 hours a day. For €20 a day you can make use of the buffet breakfast which serves both continental and English breakfast. The decor on the ground floor as you pass reception provides a relaxing mood with plenty of seating. The hotel has a gym which consists of free weights, a running, cycling & step machine, mats and kettle bells. The staff are excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and if we were to visit Lyon again, this hotel would be our base. Thanking all the staff for a wonderful stay.
Sanj — Google review
Aside from the fact that in France they don’t seem to consider a bathrobe or in room fridge a luxury, everything else was fine. The bathroom layout was a bit odd,, you had to go through the shower to access it but that’s understandable in preserved historic buildings in the city center. The location is excellent, making it easy to get anywhere quickly. Breakfast was average, but the service was excellent. For ice, you had to go down to the lobby, and the Nespresso machine in the room seemed more decorative than functional. Still, the lobby offered 24/7 coffee, juice, snacks, and ice. For water, you had to fill your bottle from a shared station on each floor.
Aikaterini M — Google review
We had an awesome experience here! The location is awesome — walkable to many parts of Lyon and immediately on the riverside. We had a fourth floor room overlooking the city which provided a great view. The staff was also accommodating and helpful. The rooms are on the smaller size but overall the hotel offers great value. We’d absolutely stay again!
Leland L — Google review
I never take the time to write reviews but this was different. This hotel is perfectly located by the river and across the city centre. Beyond this, what makes it really special is the staff there. The bathroom is leaking, yes, but all is forgotten when you meet Emma or Ali. Their sense of service is far beyond any hotel I’ve been too, even 5* ones. They are always available and have great recommendations for restaurants or even just shopping!
Karen M — Google review
Overall it’s a great hotel. Great location and friendly staff! Had a pleasant stay. I’m allergic to linen, requested for cotton flat sheet to put in between- hotel accommodated, which is great - thanks! Points of improvement 1. Bathroom suction fan isn’t working 2. There’s an unnecessary high curb when you enter the bathroom - not great if you accidentally hurt your foot 3. There’s no wardrobe or fridge when they’re needed
Zach L — Google review
My stay at OKKO Hotel Lyon was a bit of a mixed experience. While the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room itself was quite small and the bathroom lacked privacy, with a shower that leaked water onto the floor. The AC wasn’t working properly, which made the room uncomfortable at times, and the bedding irritated my skin, which is something I rarely experience. Overall, the service was lovely, but the room comfort and facilities fell short of expectations.

"The Smoking Dog" is a well-established English pub located in Vieux Lyon, offering a variety of sporting events on big screens and a selection of 11 draught beers during Happy Hour. The pub also hosts quiz nights on Tuesdays and features locally brewed guest ales on the menu. Additionally, visitors can enjoy relaxing views by the riverfront with their dogs as Lyon is situated between two beautiful rivers.
The Smoking Dog holds a special place in my heart and has been a go-to spot in Lyon for many years. This pub is always welcoming, with a great atmosphere perfect for catching up with friends and enjoying live sports or hanging out. Their selection of Belgian beers on tap is fantastic, offering something for every taste. It’s the kind of place where you feel at home, whether you’re a regular or just passing through. A true gem in the city – highly recommended!

The best: the beer. They have like 10 options of beers, and the prices are not that high. Cocktail from 6€. Also, the decoration inside is really cool. Full of books and vintage style. They also have some tables outside. The bartender speaks English.

Magnificent hotel and service!!! The two bedrooms rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Matthew, manager of the front desk and rooms, was simply sublime!!!!! Matthew looked after my family and provided a wonderful service. He was polite, pleasant and very efficient. Shall stay in the Warick group of hotels in the future. HIGHLY recommend.

The rooms look renovated and feel very cozy. The location and service was very pleasant. However, the breakfast was quite underwhelming for a 4*..
Karolina J — Google review
Far from being a 4 star! In the center of Lyon, but not close to tourist attractions. Not many restaurants are around, and the hotel coffee shop is closed on weekends evenings. 10-15 years old, the hotel needs maintenance. Our suite was large, but its kitchen lacked the basics, no salt, and no coffee for the machine. We had doubts about hygiene at breakfast, finding dirty cutlery on the table, kids caughing on the food buffer without reactions from staff. Reception staff was abrupt, pushing for settling the bill before printing it.
W B — Google review
The room was fine, but the payment process was frustrating. The hotel blocks funds on your card multiple times: before arrival (first night) and during check-in (more than the actual stay including first night!). These transactions are separate! After check-out, the hotel didn’t finalize the blocked funds and instead made an additional charge from my account. Four days later, the blocked money is still unavailable, and the hotel hasn’t responded to my emails. Another hotel I stayed at later already released the blocked amount. Be aware that you need more than twice the price of your stay in your account, as your funds can be frozen for up to 45 days due to the hotel’s pre-authorization practices.

I had an amazing experience at Warwick Reine Astrid during my recent stay. The location was perfect and the staff was extremely professional. The breakfast quality was top-notch and the housekeeping was impeccable. Although the spa and a portion of the bar were under renovation, it was a pleasant surprise to find such great value for the price. Overall, I was highly satisfied with my stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

Happy to stay in this amazing hotel. Everything was on the top level. There is no things to improve) The rooms were nicely furnished, extremely clean, breakfast in the garden was tasty. Moreover, Kids were happy to make pancakes by themselves on a special machine. Top service, pets friendly, clean and nice . Hope, we will come back soon)

What a wonderful home away from home. A beautifully appointed hotel for sure, but it was the people that made it so special. So many hotels treat you like a customer, here, they treat you like family. Toni in the bar/restaurant engaged with the whole family and Jean, finding us everything we needed. The 2 bedroom suite was spacious and gorgeous. A bit out of the main tourist areas, across from the Lyon parkland and Zoo. Will visit again.
Raphael W — Google review
Arrived in early evening after a long 6 hour drive, looking forward to a cold beer and dinner. However we were told that the restaurant and bar were closed. We then went up to the room and were greeted with this stale bird dropping on the balcony which had obviously been there for a while, and I can only assume the cleaners failed to fix. I then inquired about room service and was told that when the restaurant is closed, there simply is none! But...don't worry, you can buy some cheap and nasty pasta ready meal from us for just 18 Euros and cook it in the microwave in your room yourself... The only catch: You must then clean the kitchen yourself otherwise you'll be charged another 60 Euros! If you want the French version of the Fawlty Towers experience, this is your place.

Visitors have praised the fantastic experience at this family-friendly hotel, highlighting the well-prepared family suite and excellent dining options.
I'm always happy to return here! Spotlessly clean rooms (but some bathrooms are very small – if you are large, ask for an appropriate room assignment). Perfect location a short walk from lots of restaurants, shopping, and metro stops. Helpful front desk staff and wonderful breakfast (including fresh OJ & weekend crêpes!).

Stayed 4 nights, very welcoming and helpful staff. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom has a separate WC and the shower was modern . Everything was clean, very good sound proof. Location was very convenient to visit Lyon by foot. They have a bar open all day from the morning for coffees or tea. They also have a very nice small menu. Would highly recommend.

Comparing to other hotels in the same area, Mercure is better somehow. The rooms are very small comparing to the price. During the breakfast they do not label the food, its difficult for non-pork eaters to distinguish the type of food.
Yasser — Google review
Nice hotel, small rooms like most in Europe. Easy access to the city highlights. The man at the front desk we interacted the most with needs an attitude adjustment. Doesn’t seem to like his job or maybe doesn’t like people.
Louis P — Google review
Rooms are a bit too small, but I feel like that's the French standard. Not amazing quality of the toilet area. But the service and amazing breakfast makes up for everything. Also, a very big TV in the room for those who like to use it🙂
Monika P — Google review
Lovely hotel and excellent staff. My only criticism was the free wifi which was pretty close to useless so I turned it off my phone. Could get fast wifi if you were a member. So not any use to the majority of customers. Bar prices were also high so didn’t encourage the guests to have a drink there when there were so many bars around. But great hotel and highly recommended.

Rooms are very small and tiny. There is a night club across the street. Sleeping with window open was challenging the first night (Thursday). Nevertheless it was ok. The very central location is definitelya plus!
Chris — Google review
The place is just very underwhelming. Rooms look very old as the rest of the facility. Plus the layout of the rooms is very awkward let alone rooms are small. Also when I booked for 4 people the app asked me for an additional room which I never thought it literally meant that the family would be split. It should be made much clearer when booking.

Greet Hotel Lyon Confluence is a laid-back hotel with stylish rooms and a casual restaurant featuring a jazz bar and a gym. While some guests have experienced booking issues, others have found it to be a hidden gem in the heart of Lyon, praising its convenient location and tidy accommodations. Despite not staying overnight, visitors have commended the warm hospitality and welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for future trips to Lyon.
A real gem. We had a family room for 5 with a upstairs mezzanine. Kids loved it. A ‘cool’ vibe and very comfortable and surprisingly spacious. Reception area nice with games etc and great restaurant. Very convenient location for Lyon Perrache station which is literally next door, and only two stops to Place Bellecour or a 15-mins walk.
Tom M — Google review
What a little gem. Very clean and surprisingly quiet hotel. The staff was friendly and service-minded. Will come back and hopefully enjoy some jazz in the restaurant.
Ebba J — Google review
The staff was absolutely horrible. They were rude and completely indifferent when a serious issue occurred. Cars parked on the street right in front of the hotel had their windows smashed and belongings stolen. The hotel staff didn’t care at all. When we asked for help contacting the police or checking the security cameras, they ignored us and showed zero empathy. They don’t even warn guests that parking right outside the hotel could be dangerous. On top of that, the beds advertised as “double beds” are extremely small—only one person can sleep comfortably in them. The “family room” for five people offers no privacy whatsoever. If you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, you have to walk through the main bedroom to get to it. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. It was one of the worst stays I’ve had.
Ale J — Google review
We had a lovely three nights here. Compact room but perfect and so clean! No issues at all. Gluten free bread available on request at breakfast. Staff lovely and helpful. Convenient location, perfectly ok area by a main station (tram, metro, flixbus).
Rebecca D — Google review
Great location with access to all train and tram services and almost next door to Brasserie Georges, if that‘s your cup of tea. Great breakfast, lots of facilities for kids, and, above all, part of the restaurant/jazz club “Mlle Simone” which puts on frequent jazz combos several times a week in very cool surroundings. And quite reasonable out of season.
Hans L — Google review
BED BUGS!!!!! AVOID! I stayed on 16/7/25 and woke up at 1:30am with bites, and found two huge bed bugs on my pillow - photo evidence attached. I immediately left the room, and took a taxi to another hotel which cost me €150, along with sanitising all my things in an industrial freezer when I got back for €60. I went to the hotel directly from my home so I don’t think I brought the bugs. It was such a stressful experience, I am still worried that I brought bugs home with me, though no evidence of this yet. After receiving a refund finally via Booking.com, my reservation was cancelled so I’m unable to leave a review there. There was also an infestation of tiny flies in the room, and the shower was dirty. I should have left immediately after seeing this, but I didn’t want to make a fuss. The hotel location is also quite horrible next to huge roads and a big train station. I’m not sure at all why it has good reviews.
Z F — Google review
Staff was incredibly unhelpful. Our flight never made it into Lyon and asked for a cancellation. We could barely get any information from them and went through Booking. Booking sent them an email to make an exception and the request was denied. I understand it’s a business, but hotels with absolutely no empathy or care for their customers are seldom the place you want to be in.

Hôtel des Artistes is a charming boutique hotel located in a prime spot overlooking the Place des Celestins, near Theatre des Celestins and Vieux Lyon. The hotel's elegant and trendy quarters are adorned with artworks, offering cozy and artistic decor. It has a long history of accommodating performing artists and offers spotless rooms split into three Acts. The premium Act III grade is recommended for its amenities.
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel des Artistes in Lyon. It was conveniently located, and the service from the staff was excellent. Our ACT III twin room was very spacious with plenty of storage space in the bedroom and bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, and the AC was quiet. It was nice to have the toilet in a separate room. Some problems: There was a strange noise every 5-10 minutes all day and all night, which sounded like a water pump motor. The power outlet below the window doesn't work. The hinges on the entry door squeaked and needs to be lubricated. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Hotel des Artistes to others.

You don't need to look any further as this was a fantastic place to stay. The location is unbeatable as you are close to everything, especially a lot of top quality restaurants, and can get to the Old Town area and shopping areas quickly. The Metro is only a couple of minutes away and we took it to get to our train station at Part-Dieux. It is very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and for the price, this hotel is a bargain. Breakfast is buffet style, with a nice assortment of fruits, pastries/bread, yogurt, granola and hard boiled eggs, so very nice. The rooms aren't huge but we were only in our room to sleep and get ready in the morning to go explore. There is a nice lobby area of you have work or just want to hang out for awhile. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel. Sichone and Fiston restaurants were our favorite restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. We loved the town of Lyon and the food is unbeatable.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lyon, especially for a short stay. I believe the hotel’s location is probably the best you can find in Lyon. The staff were extremely warm and helpful. The hotel was spotless. Although the room was small, I think it was good value for money. Cleanliness of the room and bathroom is very important to me, and this hotel fully met my expectations in that regard.

Great location. Hotel front desk staff are awesome. Bedroom area great - bathroom area needs major work - it is not ergonomically correct and lacks many basic amenities. Breakfast is not of good value and breakfast staff inefficient. Overall a good property for a short stay and price/value relationship reasonable. Location makes this a good choice.

Very good hotel with good value for money. Rooms are a little small, but on the flip side it has a very unique local feel to it. All staff I encountered were super nice and smiling, and I didn't encounter a single problem. Comfortable bed, good night of sleep, climate control is good by european standards (gets to 21 or so in the rooms at night)

Nestled along the scenic banks of the Saone River, Alter'hostel offers a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for travelers seeking a unique experience in Lyon. This independent youth hostel is set in a charming residential area, providing a peaceful retreat away from the city's hustle and bustle. Guests can choose from various dormitory options ranging from six to sixteen beds, each thoughtfully designed with privacy curtains, personal lamps, bedside tables, and complimentary earplugs for added comfort.
This is a very good hostel. The place is clean and well maintained. The idea to put curtain on each bead is genius (first time I have that in a hostel) as it allows some personal space in dorm rooms). The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hostel has information about all sort of things to do in Lyon as well as very good recommendation on local places to eat or go for groceries. The hostel is quiet which means you can get good night of sleep there. Finally it is located in a very convenient area; close to public transport and there is a lot of local cool restaurants and bars.

However, in this one, there was a man bothering the women. He said he was 'looking for a key' and started staring at you in your bed. He tried to come to my bed three times, and when he saw that I was awake, he left. But another girl in the room was sleeping, and he started messing with her bed while she was asleep! She woke up screaming and crying. I immediately saw it was the same guy who had been trying to mess with me, and I had already reported him to the reception. I told the receptionist what he had tried to do to me, and she talked to him and apologized for the incident. When it actually happened with the other girl, I said I wouldn’t sleep in that room because I didn’t feel safe with him there. She transferred me to another room, and then I was able to get some sleep. I’ve never experienced anything like this in any other hostel. I felt very unsafe and will never go back to that place.

The hostel is great! It has a nice kitchen, shared spaces and bathrooms. The rooms were also nice and clean. The only downside is that the WiFi works awfully and the hostel is a little bit far away from the city center. You still have good buses and connectivity tho!
Matias P — Google review
The female rooms are not female only but they will not explain this to you and management are very hostile to women, so female traveller beware. You can already see from other reviews that people are walking in from the street to steal items and peering over a man's sleeping girlfriend.. then management will call you names if you are uncomfortable sharing with men. They say that in French grammar, if you have a group of women and add just one man the group is now a group of men.. so maybe the hostel plans to get around it this way.. or maybe management will carve the earth flat.. I do not know but it all sounds very unscientific.
Leafy G — Google review
This hostel is unsafe for women. They allow males into the female dorms, and then if women complain they blame the women. There is a reason dorms are separated by male and female. The fact the staff would then accuse women of being hateful just because they are worried about their safety is prime misogyny and gaslighting. Don’t stay here if you want respect and safety. I won’t stay here again because of this disgusting policy and their horrible response to women.

Spent 2 nights here was a decent stay. Beds were comfy no bed bugs nice chill areas plenty of board games. Is an open bar so people who don't stay can come drink there. Bitta of a vibe on a fridee night. Left my crystal necklace in the shower. Cleaners found it and handed to reception was stoked. Down side the rooms have no locks and if I can suggest anything guys a key card system for the rooms would make the guest feel more safe. Overall good stay
Ryan D — Google review
Really lovely hostel with the nicest atmosphere. Lots of room to get work done, in a relatively convenient place if you're looking to get to city center with buses running often. The staff are very friendly and helpful with recommendations and directions. There's a slight lack of security I think though, the doors don't really lock but there is always someone at the front desk. The beds are comfortable and don't make too much noise so that's a definite plus.
Connar D — Google review
Absolutely atrocious hostel that seems more like a homeless shelter than a real actual hostel. Service is abysmal, the facilities are dilapidated and grotesque, and the security is not existent. This place seems very insecure and should be shut down for lack of proper hygiene and also lack of proper know-how in running a hostel. Also, the Wi-Fi is total garbage and does not work in the rooms. They have no type of amenities or activities. There's one bathroom for everyone to use. It is truly a sad excuse for a hostel. The customer service truly made me feel so disrespected and unappreciated and I would never return to this garbage place. I will make sure everybody knows as I'm making a travel documentary about my travels within Europe as I am work in media. I will let everybody know this one of the worst places I've ever stayed in 3 months of traveling on this trip and probably in all of my time traveling in the past 20 years.

Hôtel Taggât is a cozy accommodation with simple yet comfortable rooms equipped with flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi. Guests have praised the vibrant and youthful atmosphere, along with the friendly and welcoming staff. The modern design of the rooms has been highlighted for its cleanliness and thoughtful organization, providing a convenient and comfortable stay. While some find the rooms to be on the smaller side, many appreciate the clean and well-laid-out space, as well as the comfortable beds.
Really great value for the money. The location turned out to be very good, although I was unsure before arriving since it was my first visit to Lyon. The neighborhood has several bars, restaurants and other offerings. It is also a short walk to the busier areas of the city. The hotel appears reasonably modern both rooms and public areas. The double room was spacious. Nice staff and a large bar downstairs. Can really be recommended.
Andreas N — Google review
Perfect for a single person on a budget. The room was small with a twin bed but spotlessly clean. My room looked out upon a moderately busy boulevard with towering trees like a French postcard. Not soundproof but the windows cut out most of the street noise. The public areas of the hotel seem to be geared towards younger folks with the room numbers and stairway art, stencil spray painted. My only complaint is minor, no towel rack(s).
Michael K — Google review
Its a basic, but very modern hotel. Rooms are small but very comfortable, its super clean and the staff are friendly. It feels very safe, as its card access only at night, the only complaint is its a little way from both the station and the old town, but not awful! Would definitely recommend to stay here.

Surprisingly nice place. Very clean rooms with everything you might need. Attention to detail was paid. Comfy big bed, nice shower. Location very good as close to Metro and quite a few restaurants. Only downside it was loud from the street. Delivery truck at 5a.m. and just street noise.. other than that I had an excellent stay. Staff also very helpful and nice. Go next door to their restaurant. Highly recommend! Anytime again. Merci

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and it was an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the vibrant and youthful atmosphere, which was complemented by the friendly and welcoming staff. The room was spotlessly clean and had a fresh, modern design that was simply delightful. I loved how everything was so well organized and thoughtfully placed, making my stay incredibly comfortable and convenient. And then there was the food...oh my goodness, the food! It was hands down the best I've ever had. The chefs at this hotel have truly mastered the art of blending traditional Lyon dishes with haute cuisine, creating a unique culinary experience that was both familiar and adventurous. Each dish was a visual feast, with exquisite flavors and innovative combinations that kept me coming back for more. I was blown away by the level of expertise and creativity in the kitchen, and it's no wonder that this hotel has such a stellar reputation for its food. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. The combination of a fresh and modern atmosphere, top-notch amenities, and incredible food make it a true standout. I left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and eager to return for another stay in the future. If you're looking for a truly exceptional hotel experience, look no further than this one!

Calm and clean hotel room with a cute little balcony in a very nice neighborhood. The staff was very friendly. The room was a bit hot, but there was a fan available. Amazing price-quality ratio.

Location is good. Metro stop is very close , the room was OK , it is a very basic hotel. Be warned the shower was very weak. I had one serious issue, there was a code to get into the hotel after hours, I was told the code and used it successfully the first evening. On the second evening I couldn't get into the room and whoever was the other side of the intercom gave me a new code. I asked reception about it the following day and the woman was so rude and dismissive. I don't understand if they were changing the code then they could easily text or email.

We were in Lyon on December, and we chose this apartment because its central location and near to all transport stops. We recommend this property!

Room temperature was not fixed to make room warmer, when it was 10 degrees at night. Me and my daughter were freezing in the room. The hotel staff could only tell to us to send more cover in the room….. However, the dublex room was large and perfect for families. The district area is also nice! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the changes from 15 years ago. Lots of bars, snacks and restaurants around especially dedicated to young people…. That’s cool

Me and My Family recently had the pleasure of staying at Adagio Access Lyon Centre Université, we have attended Rugby World Cup game at Lyon and I must say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff members were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room I stayed in was spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The kitchenette was well-equipped with all the necessary appliances and utensils, making it convenient for preparing meals. The Wi-Fi connection was not that stable and good, need to improve the services. The location of the hotel apartment was excellent. It was conveniently situated near main city center, making it easy to explore the area. I felt safe walking around the neighborhood, even at night.

A few days after we arrived we advised the Director that the oven in our apartment was not working, as we were staying for 6 weeks we wanted the facility to cook meals which was why we had chosen this apartment. Even though we kept enquiring about the oven it was not replaced until 3 days before we left!! When we requested a refund due to the lack of an advertised facility the Director kept putting us off and up to date his last comment was 'No decision has been made yet' As we departed Quadraverde on the 15th January we fail to understand why no decision has not been made.....how hard is it? They did not live up to their side of the contract, yet they fail to see the need to reimburse. We definitely would not use their facilities again and would not recommend them. The cleaning was also very hit and miss, the amount of dust under our bed when we arrived was not a good start!

We faced the inconvenience to find during late evening a big spider inside the apartment. There was no other way than to call the owner of the establishment as there is no reception. He was asked to provide with any solution even to a flat change but he opposed. We asked to leave in advance and be reimbursed of the remaining nights of the stay but the owner opposed again. The following morning the clean up service tried to remove the animal diffusing some spray products but it did not work out. So finally we had no choice than staying there watching out for our unsolicited host having a very troubled sleeptime.

So I had trouble finding information that I was missing for buses in particular. This is why I remove a star. (Original) le lieu est reposant, la chambre est jolie tout en restant simple. Quiet and calm. Basic, clean and tidy room, very friendly staff. Located between the basilica and Roman amphitheater (right next to these places), nice view from the 3rd floor. No Wi-Fi and check in only available 16-19 (not a problem for me, but might cause trouble for others). Very good price. Funicular if you don't like steep walks (I enjoyed the walk through small streets and gardens down to/up from the old town).

I am writing this review chiefly because of the amazing help we received from Alexandra at the welcome desk, who staffs it during the day. She seemed to know everything there is to know about Lyon, from shopping to how to use the metro to what to find in different neighbourhoods. She just made it very easy to get accustomed to the city in the short time that my wife and I were there. Alexandra helped us print our boarding passes for our return flight and aided with other issues as well, all the while assuring us that all of this was just "normal" when we thanked her. She was very professional but warm as well. (I don't know if she speaks English as I got by in my passable French.) Thanks again for all your help, Alexandra. It really made a difference.

False advertising. No a/c, room reserved did not match room received (number of single beds did not match our reservation), no on-site laundry--all of which was advertised in the reservation. Booked through 3rd party, so responsibility of false listing was dodged. Arrived at the end of a heat wave, rooms have limited airflow. Staff provided fans and we're kind, but not able to correct issues with booking. Location is convenient, but very noisy--which would be fine if it wasn't so hot/stuffy and we could afford to close the windows. Space was acceptable. 3 stars if not for false advertising.

Arrival during non business hours was difficult to manage. Felt like mission impossible to gain entry. Needed to call from outside call box to enter then retrieve key card from a safe in the lobby. The room number was supposed to be sent in advance via SMS but was not . There is no maid service during your stay unless you pay additional fee for cleaning. The room is spacious and offers a nice kitchenette if you plan to shop for local groceries. The reception people are very friendly and accommodating, unfortunately they are only here during standard business hours. Room only offers 1 small towel for entire stay unless you request additional which I believe are for a fee. Found a spider in my bed the first night as I went to turn in which made me very uncomfortable but I cannot blame the hotel for mother nature's creations.

(Translated by Google) A nice surprise for my wife who loved it. After a romantic walk in old Lyon, a candlelight concert in the basement of Fourvière and a good restaurant, the perfect place to continue a romantic night! Many thanks to you! (Original) Une belle surprise pour mon épouse qui a adoré. Un grand merci a vous!

(Translated by Google) 2nd stay at Ly'Ove, a little love nest very well located, quiet and at the same time in old Lyon. Nothing to say, it's one of the best places in Lyon to spend a romantic night. The owner is also very nice!

(Translated by Google) This is our second time that we have had a pleasant time in this always romantic and cozy place. Always well maintained, we like it's extra next door like: Flowers, bottles of champagne and others etc... That they can offer you. Just missing heart-shaped ice cubes ❤️ 😄😄😁 Otherwise I can give you ideas for romantic places around this paradise: Go to the café Négociant restaurant, or the brasserie gorge restaurant. (We went elsewhere so those who like a lake setting, outside Lyon a little outside the city, it's called the Green Voile if you like frog legs) and end up drinking a cocktail or other in a panoramic setting in height of the pencil the God part. That's it, only 20 minutes by car, but there is also transport that can take you to all these places. So the place is well located! Thank you thank you to the owner of this place.
