The Hippocrates Plane Tree is a serene location featuring a large plane tree, where legend has it that the renowned physician Hippocrates taught his students. This ancient site is surrounded by various attractions such as the Gymnasium from the Hellenistic period, Casa Romana, Roman Odeon, Ottoman mosques, and structures from the Italian occupation.
You can enter right from street by the government building by the ocean, with a busstop nearby. It is also close to the old castle and the harbour. There is not much to see but with anything else, it is still always good to witness some history in some form.
Caroline N — Google review
The Hippocrates Tree is a lovely spot to visit in Kos Town. It offers a nice bit of nature and a chance to learn some of the history behind Hippocrates and his connection to the island. Overall, it also gives you a nice overview of the bay area, making it a pleasant stop while exploring the town.
Glen B — Google review
To visit the possible birthplace of modern medical understanding , to take shade under the descendent sibling of that once great tree who play host to the great minds of antiquity can not be fully described! It must be felt..
Adrik C — Google review
It’s a tree. Nothing to tree here I’m afraid. Pointless. Even the ruins around here aren’t that great, not very well maintained. It killed 5 minutes before I found something better.
Chris ( — Google review
To be honest it's a tree. A very old tree. Held up with scaffolding. However it is a quiet shady spot and how could you visit Kos and not go and see it given the world wide medical culture that arose on this spot (allegedly).
Kim H — Google review
Perfect spot, surrounded by some old Greek buildings and the oldest tree lit with light. Fantastic entertainment which totally set the mood. Service was excellent and my sea bass was delicious. Restaurant is more pricey than others in the town but if you are wanting some evening ambiance with a touch of class away from the tourist area this is the place.
Sophie C — Google review
It's not the best best sightseeing experience we've had. The tree is not actually the tree that Hippocrates taught his students as it is only around 500 years old. Although it is thought to be a descendant of the original tree.
Derek B — Google review
Well...the scaffolding ruins the surroundings and tree itself. It's a shame. A must visit of course, but once in a lifetime thing.

Ancient Ruins
The Roman Odeon of Kos, an open-air theater constructed in the 2nd century, features restored marble seating and galleries. Surrounding attractions include the Hippocrates tree, believed to have stood since ancient times when the renowned doctor taught his students under its shade. Other notable sites on the island include Ottoman mosques, buildings from the Italian occupation period, and historic landmarks like castles and churches.
An impressive site of historical importance. You can climb the steps and have a good view over the entire site. There are tunnels to explore underneath too. Good information written in Greek and English. And best of all it was free!
Toni B — Google review
You can feel the history of the Odeon as you walk up to it. It is only small but it is quite impressive. It only takes about half an hour or so to look around and take a few photos, but it's worth it. You don't need tickets to enter, and it is free of charge.
Derek B — Google review
I usually give ancient sites 5 stars, and while it is interesting, it's been over restored and looks like a modern seating area you'd find in a park. Apart from a few areas they left alone, and they're behind iron gates and inside you see modern office chairs which ruins the small amount of the truly ancient part of the site. It's easy to walk to if you're in Kos, and it's free which is really all that's good about it.
Brian M — Google review
Yesterday, I visited the Roman Odeon in Kos, an ancient auditorium dating back to the 2nd century AD that once served as the hub of public life with musical competitions, senate meetings, and civic celebrations. Some original marble seating remains, and the site has been thoughtfully restored since its discovery in 1929. Today, the Odeon is still part of Kos’s vibrant heritage—often hosting cultural events and exhibitions—and you can even explore the fascinating underground walkways where several remarkable statues were found during excavations. Plenty of information boards inside too.
James O — Google review
The Odeum of Kos is definitely worth a visit, especially since it’s free. The site itself is impressive, but what makes it even more interesting are the tunnels underneath. They give you a great insight into how the structure looked and functioned before it started to crumble over time. A short stop, but a fascinating glimpse into the island’s past.
Glen B — Google review
A well preserved theatre however being an Odeon it's much smaller than oter ancient theatres. Don't let that stop you exploring this place, the information panels in the restored vaulted passageways do an excellent job of telling the complete story of this structure - I especially liked the reconstruction drawing showing it in its glory.
Phillip M — Google review
This is about a 5 minute walk from the bus station in Kos Town. Quite quiet when I visited which was good. You can view under the steps too. They probably could have done a much better restoration job as the majority of steps / tiers look like concrete.
Ed J — Google review
Small but very cute. Worth a visit. Free entry.

Casa Romana is an ancient Roman villa that has been restored and now houses two floors of art, including mosaics, frescoes, and sculptures. The museum was originally founded in 1936 by the Italians and has recently undergone significant improvements funded largely by the EU. These enhancements include improved signage, restoration of fallen columns, and new exhibitions at Casa Romana and the small Epigraphical Museum beside the Asclepieion.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to see the inside, the credit card machine was down and they couldn’t break our 50euros Make sure to have the exact change just in case! Winter time tickets are 3euros per person and I believe during summer it is 6 euros per person.

If you’re wondering what to see in Kos – this is definitely a place worth visiting. It offers interesting facts and information that you can explore on site. A great spot for both tourists and curious visitors. Highly recommended!
Maria S — Google review
Well worth the 10 euro (each for adults) entrance fee. So much history at this place & it is quite large. Beautiful statues and mosaics amongst other artifacts. Lots of written information about each section in Greek and English. Incredibly good job that has been done of restoring this fabulous building.
Toni B — Google review
Visited here last year. Perfectly renovated Roman Villa with interesting archeological remnants. A must place to visit if you are in Kos.
Mete D — Google review
Beautiful place - definitely worth a visit! The interior is stunning and the staff are incredibly friendly. One note: there are pigeon nests, and the amount of droppings is quite an issue. It would be great if the authorities addressed this soon - pigeons really shouldn’t be nesting inside a museum.
K P — Google review
Rather disappointed ..Not worth 10 euros.unkept and Desolate. Needs maintance and care. could have been restored much more attentively and efficiently. Such a shame! : (
Jessica E — Google review
You really get to appreciate the scale of a Roman Villa house. The reconstruction brings scale and helps the imagination understand how Romans inhabited their house. Plenty of interesting information panels and it's fascinating to see restored mosaics and wall decorations that bring immediacy to the written details. If you like Roman houses and want to get a feel of their lifestyle, this museum does an awesome job of doing that.
Phillip M — Google review
Had some time spare before my coach picked me up, so I came to view Casa Romana. It cost €6 to enter, which was reasonable. It was really interesting, I thoroughly enjoyed walking around

History Museums
The Archaeological Museum of Kos, established in 1936 during the Italian occupation, showcases a wealth of ancient island artifacts including sculptures and mosaics. Following extensive renovations funded by the EU, the museum reopened in September 2016. The distinctive building houses a collection that offers insight into the rich history and artistic legacy of ancient Kos.
Really enjoyed the museum, holds a massive amount of items from discoveries found across the island with plenty of detailed descriptions about their history. The only slight negative (and I may have missed them), I could have done with a guide book and I'm pretty certain there was no shop, I really wanted a book on the archeology of Kos. Regardless of that though it was a bright and informative way of keeping entertained whilst there was a massive early April thunderstorm going on outside, added to the atmosphere!
Allan C — Google review
I enjoyed the exhibition at this museum. However, for a ticket price of €10, it feels a bit steep, especially since the visit only takes about half an hour—or up to an hour if you take your time reading and sitting down. Overall, I would recommend it if you’re genuinely interested in the subject. But if you’re unsure, I wouldn’t advise going.
Glen B — Google review
It's only open on certain days, luckily we got there on a weekday where it was open. The site is beautifully restored with some good explanations. If you're in kos island and have some time swing by this ancient marble. You should give a chance
KampRitmi — Google review
A very beautiful place where you can see the history and ancient ruins of Kos Island. I recommend it — if you are a student, it’s free.
Talu B — Google review
Visited midweek. Small museum covering some of Kos amazing history. Unfortunately it didn't appear to be in chronological order and cost €10. I would strongly suggest that Kos place information signs on the numerous historical sites around the town to explain the significance of what just appears to be a load of rubble.
Ron H — Google review

This two floor Museum is close to the harbor and Main Street of Kos. With reading mostly everything it took me about 45-minutes to get through. Interesting info but not laid out in any way that makes sense. Could have done a much better job. Does have a lot of the sculptures from the Roman Villa and from a few sites around Kos. It cost €10 to enter and I personally do not think it was worth it.

Beach
Agios Theologos Beach is a remote and rugged coastal destination located about 7 km southwest of Kefalos in Greece. Accessing the beach can be an adventure, especially driving on the dirt track from Kefalos. Despite powerful surf, the waves break far offshore, creating a broad and shallow area for wading. The beach offers sand and pebbles with options to rent beach beds and umbrellas.
Perfect Sunset spot... if you arrive around 1h before sunset, I recommend to first drop into the restaurant and reserve a table for dinner, then order wine-"to go", walk down to see the sunset while drinking your Aperitif, come back up and enjoy your dinner - very nice seafood dishes but also Moussaka. During the season maybe call ahead of time!
Elisabeth L — Google review
Very small and quiet beach, didn’t seem like a lot of families with children visit here and we didn’t see many all afternoon. The beach isn’t very Sandy as you can see from the images. There is a guy that will come around collected €7 for the sun beds once you have sat down! You can use them as long as you like for the €7 for both beds! He seems nice and approachable.
Zoë B — Google review
Very nice beach, not overly busy. Combo of rocky and sandy. Beautiful water colors
Zachary W — Google review
OK, so, if you expect a sandy beach.... run..... this is all pebbles, hard on the feet if you don't wear something and a bit of a walk if your friends decide to run off ahead and pick a spot furthest way from the free parking and you forgot your flip-flops... ok so that s an ouch.... think about it like this... lovely warm weather, seas a perfect temperature for a swim, great wild surroundings and its like you are walking on lego pieces all the way down the beach!! Right so… you have been warned! Its a lovely beach, we went in the afternoon so it was quiet , no kids , very peaceful and we decided to stay for a couple of hours and found it very very relaxing. For a beach that’s a little off the beaten track there is a restaurant, surf school and some amenities nearby , lots of lovely views and to be honest, it was worth the drive to to swim and relax for the afternoon. As for the plethora of pebbles and rocks… I walked back along the beach to the car park by wading in the sea… much better option…. So kiddies, if you come to this beach… bring footwear :)
Dan D — Google review
Best beach on whole Kos. You can rent umbrella with two sunbeds for 5 euro per day. There are no crowds, only few people. Restaurant with good food just meters away..
Daniel P — Google review
Beach is very nice with bigger waves and you enjoy it, if you like to jump in them, we preferred calm beaches in the southern coast and we left quickly.
Jan K — Google review
Lovely small beach with a few beds and umbrellas to rent. Fantastic restaurant just above the beach, amazing place for the best sunsets also.

Lambi Beach, located about 2 km north of Kos Town, is a popular spot with a mix of sand and pebbles. It's known for its vibrant nightlife scene and the nearby Mylos Beach Bar, which hosts events featuring both national and international DJs. The beach offers lounge chair rentals and is surrounded by bars and clubs that cater to a younger crowd.
the water is so clean and so is the sand, the boats and ships can sometimes make the water choppy and a bit dangerous, but if you spent a very strong swimmer you don't meed to just stay next to the shore as the water goes deep slowly it's good, if you are in kos I recommend going there! Just across the sea you can see turkey (I think 😅)
Freya B — Google review
There are sand and stone areas with lovely, clear water and turquoise water. Parts are sheltered with trees and along the whole stretch there are areas with sun loungers to hire, some of which are private for hotels close by. There are beach bars, too.
Nad C — Google review
A nice beach. Surprisingly the umbrellas and beds were free. You can have drinks and snacks from nearby bars and restaurants.
George A — Google review
Great choice of sun beds. Some free but you buy drinks. Banana beach brilliant 4.50 per bed. Super comfy mattress. Use of toilet at heaven beach bar
Chris — Google review
Clean beautiful beach , i enjoyed there. We ordered strawberry and mango smoothie. The one with strawberry didn’t taste that good. The only thing i didn’t like was that there weren’t enough space between the sun-beds.
Alic — Google review
Beach that runs from Kos up and around the headland. Lots of bar lounger plenty of space . Not very wide but a shallow waterline.
Ian B — Google review
There's a city bus that goes from Kos town to Lambi. You can also walk there (15-20 min), or ride a bike since it's only about 1-2 km from Kos port. Rather desolate beach in April; during high season it becomes overly commercial, all covered in restaurant sunbeds. There is no shade, and the sand is course, and dirty, certainly not very inviting, hence the numerous sunbed rentals all along this rather ugly beach. Nothing worth seeing at Lambi. If you strain your eyes, you can vaguely make out the Turkish coast in the distance, through the haze. But you can do so from almost anywhere in Kos town.
Globe T — Google review
Nice beach, it is more rocky than sandy. View is amazing. You can find free sunbeds at Heaven.

Paradise Beach is one of the many stunning beach options on the island of Kos. Located on the south side, it boasts golden sandy shores and clear turquoise waters, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and tranquility. This secluded beach offers exotic scenery and is known as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Visitors can enjoy sunbathing, swimming in the crystal-clear shallows, or even partake in various optional water sports activities available.
The best beach in Kos. They have umbrellas and sunbeds to hire. €15 for 2 sunbeds and a parasol. There is a beach bar on the beach with good value food, drinks and ice cream. The water is also very shallow and you can hire jet skis if you like. ⛱️🍦🏄🚤
Carl K — Google review
Ghost town. Found a desolate beach with nothing open and rubbish strewn about everywhere. Very odd experience. Others had made the same trip in rentals and taxis, looking for "bubble beach", and all looked as bemused as we did. Don't make our mistake and make a special trip without knowing for sure it's up and running. Strangely we visited a week or so after several 5 star reviews had been posted, indicating all open...alas not. Check to avoid disappointment...
Michael G — Google review
Nice beach, but if you turn up mid afternoon, the sunbed blokes will still charge you €15.... Get here early. 👍
Ian H — Google review
Pretty beach and calm place. 20 euro for two sun-beds all day. The water is very clear and even of the beach is full of sunbeds it never got too loud. There is little place left if you come without wanting to get a sunbed
Alice R — Google review
Steep walk down from the bus stop but worth it. Warm, clear sea. Plenty of sun beds (15e for two). Water sports just below Paradise Beach Bar (very reasonably priced - lovely gyros!) and a water park to the left. Between the two you will find the bubbles which are about 50m from the shoreline and marked with a blue buoy. Recommend you take a snorkel to full appreciate this phenomenon.
Sparkle143 — Google review
This beach is a tourist spot, and compared to other local beaches on the island, the sunbed fee is twice as expensive. For the money you pay, there is trash behind the sunbeds, which shouldn’t be there. This money for what?
Talu B — Google review
Beautiful sandy beach with lots of space and sunbeds (20€ for umbrella +2 beds)
Tina R — Google review
Took a 3 bay boat trip from kardamena. Booked through Harriet's travel. Such a lovely day had. BBQ lunch is provided on board. Cost us 80 euros for a family of three. Drinks can be brought on board. Bottle of water 1 euro, can of mythos or bottle of corona 4 euros each. Paradise beach was incredible, we were able to Jump from our boat and swim to the bubble area which is marked by a bouy. Took an underwater camera with me to capture the experience, there were other water based activities you can do at paradise/bubble beach.

Kos Old Town is a charming area with narrow streets, Byzantine and medieval buildings, and harborside cafes and shops. It's a car-free zone that offers a blend of history and modernity. Visitors can explore the labyrinth of narrow streets, whitewashed buildings, and vibrant squares. The town is perfect for leisurely strolls to discover quaint cafes, bustling restaurants, and charming shops.
Kos old town is a wonderful bustling town full of activity. There are lots of little touristy type shops to get lost in. The only down side are the restaurants. Although there is a wide selection and the food was terrific there are a few who have staff on the street rather forcefully trying to get you into their restaurants and will actually get in your way and stop you. So be prepared to be forceful back.
Andy G — Google review
Such a beautiful place to visit. The small streets with colorful houses and shops are great for walking around. In the evening with all the lights, it feels very cozy and romantic. There are many nice tavernas and cafés where you can eat, drink and enjoy the atmosphere

Really impressive old town. Some beautiful architecture interspersed with the tourist shopping stalls and vendors offering a mixture of modern trinkets and more traditional items including evil eyes and 'i love kos' memorabilia.

Kos town is lovely. A marina with boats of various designs and excursions. There were interesting shops, boutiques, and restaurants. There was a castle we did not go, as it closed when we got there. We really enjoyed Kos.

Beautiful, picturesque, and littered with historical gems at every turn. The shops and restaurants are also in abundance. You can walk around the town and end with a good view of the ocean. The Western Archaeological Zone in Kos is a fascinating neighborhood filled with ancient treasures. Visitors can explore the Gymnasium, Stadium, and Roman Baths dating back to the 2nd century BC, as well as Christian basilicas and other remnants of daily life in antiquity. The area also houses the archaeological Museum of Kos, featuring important sculptures and mosaics from different eras. Additionally, visitors can stroll through ancient lanes with well-preserved carriage ruts from Roman times.
underrated gem. some of the coolest ruins in town, well preserved wall art and a mosaic. you can also see a perfectly defined Roman road. must visit location.
Andy I — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. You can literally walk through an ancient city and see mosaics, murals. Only downside is that it’s not very well preserved. You trust visitors to not destroy or scratch anything, and hope that it does not get worn down by the weather. I hope the city will try to preserve this beautiful place more carefully.
BlueRain — Google review
Beautiful spot to see all kinds of ruins of historical buildings and streets. This was the "main street" a very long time ago. Impressive when you look at today's street and see the difference, how much sand amd dust covered these ruins. In some spots you can still see beautiful mosaic flooring.
Claudio K — Google review
The terrain is easily walkable from the old city of Kos and open to the public. You can admire the archaeological site from up close, such as mosaics, pillars etc. Very beautiful and impressive! Be aware that there is little shade and no information tablets.
Fritzi O — Google review
The ruins are a bit overgrown, but this makes you feel like you’re actually discovering something, and there is plenty to discover on the site!

You have to wonder why this location is no where to be found on Google if you want to visite special places in Kos City. This is a large free to visite archeological digging site. The place is huge. To bad there is not much info on the site itselfs. Still, very beautifull to walk around and amaze yourself about ancient periods.

Stunning archaeological site, easily my favourite in Kos (and there are loads to choose from). It's free to access which is always nice. Look out for some incredible mosaics and and excellent example of a Roman road.
Stephen R — Google review
Incredible place to visit if you are into Ancient Roman & Hellenistic architecture/history! Free to enter, just check the opening times before you visit! I'm not sure why, but despite this being a major ancient archaeological site with alot to see, it doesn't seem well advertised at all & there isn't a huge amount of information about it online, even finding it's name was a bit of a tasj! "Western Archaeological Site" or "Kos ancient gymnasium" don't really allude to how worth the visit this site is! There's actually alot to see here, from the 1700 & 1800 year old roads (on which you can still see grooves worn into the stone by horse & carts nearing 2000 years ago!), to Roman thermae (baths), the gymnasium & it's remaining pillars as well as numerous other accompanying structures! There are still impressively well preserved tile mosaics & art on the walls as well, incredible!

Antimachia Castle, a former military structure built in the Middle Ages by the Knights of St. John, stands on a promontory just 166m high and offers panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. This strategic vantage point served as a prison for condemned knights and reinforced the island's defenses. The castle is famous for its well-preserved walls and churches inside, making it an enticing backdrop for wedding photography.
This castle is very close to the airport, which makes it easy to reach. I really liked the path leading there – very scenic and pleasant. On the way you’ll see many goats wandering around, which is fun for photos. The castle itself is huge, and the ruins are truly massive, making for a long but enjoyable walk. At night, the view is especially beautiful with the lights shining and a stunning panorama over the sea. Definitely a place worth exploring!
Vladka J — Google review
The castle itself is impressive and the view is beautiful, definitely worth seeing. But the place is completely abandoned – no maintenance, no signs, and the toilets… honestly, they are disgusting. It looks like no one has cleaned them in years. It’s a shame such a historical site is left to rot like this. Bring water, toilet paper, and don’t expect any services. Sad to see such a great place in this condition.
Samael B — Google review
A huge castle with wonderful views. There are two chapels that are open within it. I have a historical interest, but there are no information boards inside the castle to give you that historical insight into why it was built, how it was used, who was there, etc.
Victoria W — Google review
A unique place for sure, very much a ruin. Yang ChatGPT gave me a lot more context to what I was seeing and walking amongst because there is not a lot here. Still very beautiful and worth a stop in your travels.

We were greeted by a very nice gentleman upon entering. The entrance fee is a voluntary contribution and we were given fresh basil. Breathtaking views in every direction, a chapel and history. Interesting and beautiful place.
Ula P — Google review
The great fortifications of Antimacheia were built by the Knights Hospitaler in the first half of the 14th century to provide security to the residents of the Central regions of the island of Kos. People working the surrounding plains and plateaus could retreat within these walls in time whenever enemy ships were sighted. The walls were seemingly massive enough not to require the support of towers. Though it is more possible that the towers were to be incorporated later, but this plan was never to be materialized. They did withstand the Turkish raid of 1457, when a handful of Knights and a couple of hundred locals managed to fend off a force that numbered more than 15000. The site is easily accessible yet unattended, and its large size requires some time to walk along it. Better to have some supplies, at least water if visiting in the summer. Children should be attended to closely if venturing on the ramparts. A little known gem that offers a spectacular experience to those with a soft spot for such monuments.

Always very worth a visit when on Kos. A large site that is quite ruinous but you can really pick out some well preserved elements and really see a piece of history and why it was built there. Views of Kardemena from the far side. Lovely walls/ramparts to walk around. There are no facilities here - good, drink, toilets etc. It is 100% free entry but as with some other places (e.g. Old Pyli castle) there are usually a couple of “chancers” who are nothing to do with the site or the authorities - one in “Greek national costume” on the entry steps who will expect a nice tip to have your photos taken with him - and one in the archway entrance a little further on who will likely offer you a cold bottle of water from a cooler and again expect a nice tip for doing so. We have always said a polite good morning/good afternoon and walked straight on past. They just step aside and let us past. Fully recommended.

The scale is astounding and while there are few while buildings left it is easy to imagine the fortress in it's heyday

Fortress
Nerantzia Castle, also known as the Castle of the Knights, is a 14th-century fortress located by the seaside in Kos. The castle offers stunning views of Kos harbor and is surrounded by sculptures. The area around Kos Town has significant historical sites from Hellenistic and Roman times, including public buildings and residential areas. The town was carefully planned to incorporate these excavations into its structure, creating open spaces and a new central square with unique architectural styles.
Visiting this place during my trip to Kos was a delight. It offers fantastic photo opportunities while exploring. History enthusiasts will particularly enjoy this site. A leisurely stroll takes about an hour, or an hour and a half if you stop to take pictures. On the top of the castle provides stunning views of Kos. It's advisable to bring a drink with you, as there were no facilities inside during our visit. The remnants of damage from a past earthquake are visible. Entry was free when I went. Convenient parking is available nearby, so there's little walking required. The locals are quite welcoming. I liked it so much that I visited twice.
T.H. G — Google review
Would of like to explore this place but like most of kos structures and monuments they are either closed or abandoned with no information. Seems most of it is need of a massive influx of cash to get them back to some of way that tourist can visit and learn the history
Shaun E — Google review
I would happily pay couple of euros each to come into this fine place. A combination of modern and mythological history situated in the heart of Kos, for any history buff this is an amazing walk. As said it is free with local eateries nearby on the harbour. Please explore it is safe go down the unlit tunnels and let your inner kid go wild with enjoyment. Wish for more educational aspects to it as I was explaining to many the parts of the building and how some of it was changed to incorporate the use of it during ww2

Entrance to castle and walls from outside look really very beautiful. Unfortunatelly inside is not any exhibition. Which is very sad, it would be awesome place for museumabout history of castle. You can go around castle (part of walls are closed because they are collapsing) and take pictures of beautiful views.

Lots of stones. Without any historical background or a tourist guide you won't know (just like myself) what's going on, what I'm watching or why it's there. One of many attractions but I didn't really know what's what. Free entry for everyone

It's okay. It's free to enter, so visit it. But don't expect too much from it. I really missed some information about its history and the things I was looking at. Nice view of the Harbor from the corners of the castle. You can't visit most of the castle by the way.

Camel Beach is a tranquil cove located 6km from Kefalos and 30km South-west of Kos Town. It offers clear waters for snorkeling, organized sunbeds, showers, and a taverna. The steep road to the beach provides picturesque views of Kastri Island but requires careful driving. While slightly harder to access than Paradise Beach, Camel Beach is known for its fine white sand and clear sea, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling.
My favourite beach on Kos, you have to be lucky to park here after noon, it is a small beach with limited capacity of sunbeds and parking spots. But so worthy! Sand beach with some rocks on the sides so it is also good for snorkelling, lots of fish there.
Jan K — Google review
Secluded beach, shower not always functional. Getting back up the slope can be tricky with a a weak car. Otherwise very lovely, drinks can be ordered from restaurant above. Would rate it 4.5 if I could.
Armin V — Google review
Beautiful and quiet. 12€ for 2 sunbeds and one umbrella. The way down is not ideal for small cars, but you can park at the restaurant and reach the beach on foot, it’s just 5 mins walking
Alice G — Google review
Beach has a lot of potential, sad that looks like that. PS I don't recommend coming all down to the beach with a car, especially a small car.
Marko K — Google review
Like all the beaches on Kos nice view of the landscape, but the day we went it was windy and the sea was rough so the colors were nothing much either! In any case to try and see if the wind is not too strong
Edoardo F — Google review
I'd say it's the most beautiful and peaceful beach on the island. If you prefer, you can rent a sunbed and enjoy the sea, sand, and sun on the right. For a more isolated and quieter experience, you can spread out your towel on the left-hand beach and enjoy. Because the beach is sheltered like a bay, the water is generally calm and clear. It didn't bother me, but it might be a bit chilly for those who are cold. Still, I'd say it's one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. You can drive down there; there's parking, but the road is a bit steep and uneven, so be careful. Alternatively, there's the Camel Restaurant upstairs where you can eat. Or, if you prefer, the attendant will bring you your order from the restaurant upstairs on a motorbike. You can also do that.

Church of Agia Paraskevi is a well-maintained Greek Orthodox church located near Kos old town. The exterior features a beautiful mosaic floor made of colored pebbles, making it a picturesque spot for visitors. Inside, the church houses typical orthodox frescos and a closed-off altar. Despite being damaged in the 2017 earthquake, it remains an interesting attraction for tourists. The caretaker takes pride in showing visitors around and even displays a preserved relic of St.
A beautiful church both inside and out. The caretaker is lovely and showed my family around. Was very proud to show us the relic of St. Paraskevi. Houesd in a small shrine to the side of the chapel is on of her preserved fingers, my kids were fascinated.

A very well maintained Greek orthodox church on the outside. The inside is similar to most orthodox churches, keeping the frescos and a closed-off altar. Given its close to Kos old town, it's usually populated with tourists, and there'a not much room inside, apart from sitting on the benches. Perhaps the nicest feature is the floor mosaic outside of the church. Made entirely of colored pebbles, it gives a nice esthetic to the whole square, and a good spot for a nice picture.

The Traditional Windmill of Antimachia, also known as the Antimachia Windmill, is a historic site dating back to the 19th century. It is one of the last original windmills still in use today and offers guided tours where visitors can learn about its history and operation from the Amallos family who manages it. The windmill was refurbished in 2005 to accommodate tourists and provides stunning views of the sea from its windows.
Pretty impressive fact, although in Greece there are a lot of windmills from which some are restored, this specific one is one of the few if not the only one that was fully restored, it is entirely functional and used commercially. These means that all the other mills might look complete but might not work or they can not produce flour for consumption. In other words it's a must see. Another great fact is that the entry to the mill is "paid" in form of a purchase of products made from the flour produced here and they are incredibly good.
TrekTasteTravelTales — Google review
Great little cafe .The flour they mill in their own windmill is turned into loverly baked treats .We bought a couple of bags to take with us They were really nice and well worth the cost. If you buy something in the cafe, you can get a tour of the inside of the mill. If you need to use the toilet, you need to buy something first, which I believe is totally fair.
Derek B — Google review
You can tour the inside of the windmill, and see it working. They give samples of the delicious biscuits and breadsticks they bake, which can also be purchased. They are really nice people and it is a great visit. There is also a snack bar outside at the other end of the park, which is also well worth a visit for food and refreshments.
Stuart H — Google review
We visited the windmill and we weren't disappointed. We were met by a lovely lady who explained that the windmill is the only traditional windmill working in the whole of Greece. She gave us complimentary breadsticks and biscuits made with flour from the windmill while we waited for the tour of the windmill. I think the cost was 2.50 Euro per person. The tour of the windmill lasts about 10 mins and a guide and the actual miller explained how the windmill works, and the miller also asked for help when he showed how the roof moves to position the sails. We had a choice of two bags of breadstick or biscuits as part of the entry fee. Nice little shop where you could purchase herbs, olive oils and other products from the windmill. Little cafe on site and a donkey in a stable. Worth a visit.

Brilliant value for money, tasty produce and really a interesting tour of a windmill. Amazing customer service and a lovely donkey. A superb way to spend an hour.
Richard G — Google review
We loved the way it was organised. You get biscuits and sticks to sit down and relax. Then you go to the mill and enjoy the short presentation. Watch your head! I bumped myself twice and damaged my hat 😂 Then you can return, have a coffee or some soft baverages, shop some of the products and then for each ticket you get pack of products for free. Awesome idea.
Miroslav M — Google review
Functional well repaired windmill. Very kind staff gives you a taste of cookies and salty sticks (made from the flour from the mill) while you wait for your tour. Inside they show you how it works and you can try to rotate the whole windmill. Once you finish the tour, you pay the ticket for 2,5 euros - the ticket is a bag of cookies or sticks that you liked the most during the taste. What a kind and interesting place.

Psalidi Beach is located on the east coast of Kos Island and offers a long stretch of coarse, gravelly sand perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and windsurfing. Just a short drive from Kos Town, this popular spot is backed by restaurants, cafes, and bars. The beach features rocky underwater terrain and small coves ideal for snorkeling adventures. Visitors can expect soft sand and clear waters suitable for various water sports.
Beautiful in early October. Warm water. Ne need to use and rent the sunbeds if you're happier on gentle sloped pebble beach. Swim with goggles to see the fish.
Nigel P — Google review
A nice and long beach with multiple options of sunbeds along the way. The beach is mostly pebbles and if it's windy, there are waves that can make it a bit hard to stand your ground. The ocean gets deep quite fast and is not clear enough to go snorkeling. Well cleaned beach when I visited. There are watersport options at this beach too as well as bars and restaurants along the beach.

The ground under the water gets deep very quickly, you need water shoes, rocks everywhere, no sand for building (a bit of sand)
Beaver — Google review
Not perfect sand but in one way less irritating as its easy to brush off, nice view and nice breeze. Sea can get quite rough so not ideal for nervous swimmers. Sunbeds connected to the Mitsis are nice and drinks get brought to your position on the beach. Beach bar and restaurant serving burgers and pork and chicken kebabs in a pitta decent and gets busy. Toilets- not great and a bit smelly!

I wouldn’t waste my time here. Beach is very dirty because of the tourists; water is not very clear and has lots of sea grass, so snorkeling is a bit sad; and view is ok. Rather go to the south west side of the island, there are much better beaches there

Scenic spot
Nestled in the stunning landscape of Kefalos, the White Stone Cave, also known as Aspri Petra Cave, is a must-visit for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike. Perched on the slopes of Mount Zini at an elevation of 257 meters, this remarkable cave boasts breathtaking views and is composed primarily of striking white marble. The journey to reach it is manageable and allows visitors to soak in the picturesque scenery along the way.
Took a private car here. Park then walk down, then up a small path through the rocks to the cave. Not an easy walk up the small path, as requires some clambering over rocks, just near the top. Brilliant views over the area, and out to sea
Karen D — Google review
Visiting White Cave really depends on what you’re looking for. First of all, it’s important to find the right way — there’s a small parking spot before the gravel road goes downhill. We left our car there and followed the road down, thinking that was the path, but it turns out that’s not quite right. About halfway down, on the left side, there’s a small, narrow trail that actually goes uphill. It’s hard to spot on a regular map — it’s visible only on satellite view. Follow that path up the hill, and you’ll end up on the top, where the cave is located. The cave itself is more like a hollow space in the rocks — nothing particularly special inside, just stone and a small cavity. But the view from the top is absolutely beautiful, especially at sunset. So for me, the place was worth visiting mainly for the view, not the cave itself. It’s up to you — if you love scenic landscapes, go for it; otherwise, you’re not missing much.
Aleksandra S — Google review

Took a while to find. Not well signposted. Someone has tried to help by laying stones on the ground to show you the way up. Fantastic view though once your up there.

White stone cave is a short walk from the road/ track below, we had hired a buggy so was able to get down the track this might be a little scary in a car but I did see the local farmer drive down it. The views from White cave are fantastic on a clear day, if you search around a little you might even find yourself some White cave crystals to take home. I would recommend you take some water or something to drink especially on those hot days. Look out for the big arrows made up of stone to show you the way to go they are hard to miss.
Dave M — Google review
Well worth the walk and climb. Took car a little way down then walked the remaining 900 m, don't follow the Google maps driving route all the way down around 400 m to go there is a path up to the left climbing up to the cave . Quite a tough climb over rocks near the end but our 3 yr old managed it with help

Therma Beach, situated on the southeastern coast of Kos, is a one-of-a-kind destination known for its natural thermal springs. Visitors can enjoy sweeping sea views and take advantage of the beach's unique wellness offerings. In addition to its renowned hot springs, Kos offers a wide range of activities including cultural events, sporting facilities, and beautiful hiking trails.

Kos Island Thermal Springs: A Traveller's Practical Guide I'd like to share my experience visiting the thermal springs on Kos Island – this place is absolutely worth the journey! Getting There I left my hotel early in the morning and walked along the coast towards Kos town, stopping along the way to photograph local landmarks (more on those in my next post). The bus station is quite modest: a kiosk with timetables (unmanned) and a covered bus stop. Directly across the road are ancient Greek ruins, and diagonally opposite is the police station – excellent landmarks for navigation. In October, bus number 5 runs every hour (same schedule for weekdays and weekends). With 45 minutes until departure, I happily spent the time exploring the ancient ruins. The bus arrived precisely at 12:30 as scheduled, but remained at the stop for another 15 minutes whilst the driver sold tickets and waited for other passengers. Useful Information: Ticket price: €2 (accurate as of 11 October 2025) Journey time: approximately 30 minutes The springs are the final stop on route 5 Windows are tinted, so sit at the front if you want to enjoy the scenery At the Beach It's about 560 metres from the bus stop to the springs at the end of the beach. The hottest and cleanest water emerges from a stone structure. Local volunteers maintain natural pools in the rock formations, though waves constantly fill them with sand and stones. During my visit, one dedicated soul was clearing debris with a barely-intact shovel – a true hero! The water is genuinely hot – practically boiling! The minerals are evident from the smell, and bubbles rising from beneath the earth delightfully tickle your body. I recalled Pushkin's fairy tale about Tsar Saltan, where the hero plunged into a cauldron of boiling water and gained youth and beauty – so naturally, I awaited my transformation! 🤣 Important Tips: Best to lie flat in the water – standing burns your ankles Alternate between the hot springs and the cold sea Don't overdo it! After my third dip, even as a regular sauna-goer, I felt dizzy and had to retreat to shore Beware: Local Residents! A herd of mountain goats roams the beach, attacking tourists at the slightest whiff of food. Whilst I was swimming, the goats knocked my rucksack off a stone wall (where I'd deliberately placed it high up!), unzipped it, and devoured everything inside. My attempts at fair distribution of the remains failed – the goats have their own hierarchy, and the alpha takes everything. Practical Information: Entry is free (surprisingly!) Sunbeds at the beach entrance: €5 (not worth it – the springs are far away) Better to settle on the sandy-stone beach near the springs themselves In the pool closer to the sea, the water is brownish due to iron oxidation in the rocks – bathers emerge with a rusty coating Verdict The views from above and along the path to the beach alone justify the visit, not to mention the healing properties of the mineral waters. This is a unique place where nature has created a genuine open-air spa!
Svetlana B — Google review
What an awesome experience this is! We drove to therma beach and parked at the top near the cafe (you can drive down the cliff if your brave enough!!) However most opt to walk, it's a 10 min walk down to the bottom where you will find a volcanic beach with a little restaurant, black sand and cliff faces. In front of you, you will find the hot spring (and when I say hot- it's unbearable to stand in when we went!!) The best way to do it is to get into to sea first that's cooler and then attempt the hot spring. Its even bubbling in places! A selection of tropical fish in the clear sea- take a snorkel. There was also a gazebo offering some volcanic mud treatments, I chose a face mud mask for 5 euro and you wash it off in the sea afterwards. We also saw mountain goats clinging on to the cliff edge which had everyone watching and praying they didn't fall! The walk back to the top could be difficult for some and a test of fitness. Overall a reccomended experience!

Plaka Forest, located near Mastichari village on the island of Kos, is a lush green oasis offering a peaceful retreat from tourist areas. The forest features picnic tables and abundant wildlife, including peacocks and turtles. Visitors can enjoy the fragrant pine-scented air while taking leisurely hikes through the area. The forest is also home to wild peacocks, including an albino specimen, as well as tame cats cared for by a volunteer keeper.
A special place to visit if you like peacocks :) A lot of different ones to see. There was also a very nice lady who sold some food which you can give to the peacocks. She uses the money for the benefit of the peacocks so it's definitely worth it. A very special experience.

Little forest with peacocks, ducks, chicken and cats. You can get animal feed for a donation and walk around. Perfect for kids and a great spot when close to the airport. The road is a bit bumpy there, but doable with a car if you drive slowly. There‘s also a lot of spots to park.

The path to the forest is truly beautiful and makes the walk well worth it. Once inside, you’ll find plenty of peacocks, ducks, and geese that you can easily feed. Bread and cookies for feeding are available for €5 from a kind elderly gentleman who sits at a small table and shares them with visitors. The whole place feels calm, cool, and relaxing – a perfect spot for a short escape into nature.
Vladka J — Google review
A truly beautiful forest full of peacocks, ducks, a few hens, and even some friendly cats. The birds live freely — they’re not completely wild, but they move around as they please. During the day, a few people take care of them and feed them, though it all feels very natural and informal. Entrance is free, and it’s such a peaceful, charming place that I actually visited twice. The first time I just walked around and enjoyed watching the birds, and the second time I brought a bit of food for them. If you plan to do the same, please make sure you check in advance what kind of food is safe and healthy for them — it’s important not to harm these beautiful creatures. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and especially animals. It’s a calm, magical spot that really stays in your memory. P.S. Watch video with sound

Wonderful place on the island. Everyone should have been here. This is not a zoo, but the great outdoors. However, the animals certainly get support, especially if they are ill.

The Plaka Forest is a different option. It's about a 30-40-minute drive from the city center. You can enjoy the coolness of the forest, take a walk, see the peacocks up close, and even feed them.
Ozan T — Google review
We came to Kos on holiday in 2023 and this is one of the places we wanted to come too but never go round to doing it so this holiday in September 2025 i was determined that this was one of the places I wanted to visit and see the white peacock 🦚 at Plaka Forest. When hiring the car the gentleman I spoke to said dont be disappointed if you dont see him he doesn't show himself very often and will keep to the outsides. So I went with the expectations that I wasnt going to see him. When we turned up and parked the car. We walked literally 10 metres and he was there. I was so made up, he is what I came to see. I also saw the other peacocks 🦚 peahens and the baby chicks, the cats that are well fed and ducks. I was a lovely stop in our journey that day.
Janice C — Google review
When the sun is very strong and you can't stay at the beach anymore, this forest full of peacocks is the perfect place. For children it is an adventure in search of peacock feathers. If you get to the island of Kos, don't miss the visit here. You don't need any entrance tickets. The birds are free and you can walk among them. You can feed them (don't forget to bring your own bread)

We loved this place, so relaxing, amazing food, the best watermelon cocktail that I've ever tasted. The staff are brilliant, so friendly. Papa is a unique character, we felt like he was an old friend. You must come here, it's so lovely. Have a gyros, they are soooo good

Best beach bar in Kos, found this place on social media and really wanted to try it. Very welcoming and the owner (Papa) is such a friendly energetic person. He makes the visit well worth coming here and gives customers one to one conversations really makes you feel welcomed and relaxed. The place itself is beautiful. We had food and cocktails which all taste amazing. Highly recommend this place, music is a vibe here too 🎶💃

The Defterdar Mosque is a two-floored mosque from the Ottoman period in Eleftherias Square. It has a dome supported by 12 arches and is still functioning as a mosque, although it is no longer open to the public. The Hanji Hassan (or Loggia) Mosque is also from the Ottoman period and is located behind Hippocrates Plane Tree in Lotzias Square.
Must have been an amazing mosque it's a shame it hasn't been restored after the earthquake.

I saw the photos of the mosk before the earthquake and it looked as an attractive landmark. Now, it looks really dilapidated and abandoned, while being located right at the center of downtown. It would be wise to do something on this point, maybe little restoration..

Market
Kos Municipal Market, designed by Florestano Di Fausto and Rodolfo Petracco, is a stunning example of mid-century Italian architecture. The exterior is characterized by understated white-washed walls and symmetrical glamour, while the interior is a lively burst of colors and aromas. Visitors can explore an array of fresh spices and indulge in local delicacies like krasotyri, a goat cheese aged in red wine.
This place is excellent for spices, sweets and vegetables. I've been coming every year for 40+ years when come for our annual trip. We bring our spices home
Bill L — Google review
Great for getting any gifts or greek products such as wines, oil, honey and snacks there is so much to choose from inside they've really packed it in there my only downside is they really packed so much inside it can make it difficult to walk round with so many tourists inside too
Shaun E — Google review
Thought we would visit the town market, where in most towns they are full of colour and the smells of fresh produce. Not here though. Trinkets don't taste nice and as for aroma, very busy with hot, sweaty, tourists. Pity, it would have been good in it's day.
Ron H — Google review
Who doesn't like a market especially in Greece ? Not quite the chaos of a street market but still busy and bustling. Plenty of stock , shelves heaving with all sorts of spices and sweet delicacies. Helpful staff and the nagging doubt that you must leave with a bargain for your friends ? Easy to find in Old Kos Town and you leave knowing you can come back tomorrow and still see things you missed yesterday.
Mark G — Google review
Locally called Asda. Buy something here and you get a sunbed. Lovely fresh coffee. Fresh pastries, rolls and anything Carb loaded for a day at the beach. They also have great fruit. You can buy absolutely anything you need here.
Lorraine K — Google review
Small and busy place with a wide assortment of fresh produce and tourist items.
Tony P — Google review
It has absolutely every touristy gift item you could possibly want from herbs and spices to ouzo to olive oil and soap however it is incredibly busy because it so popular with tourists! The whole place is set out to look like many different little shops however it is actually one big shop with two cash desks at the back of the market which means there are very long queues to pay once you've selected what you want. If you dont want to spend time walking round all the little shops in Kos town and old town I would reccomend coming here for a one stop shop with a wait. But if you have time I would suggest going to individual shops and buying things from them as it will be a lot less stressful and a far nicer experience!

Castle
Palaio Pyli Castle, also known as the Byzantine Castle of Old Pyli, is a historic site located on a hilltop near the village of Pyli. The castle overlooks the Aegean Sea and offers stunning views of neighboring islands and even parts of the Western Turkish Coast. This abandoned settlement is part of Mount Dikeois and provides a glimpse into the island's past, with ruins dating back to the Byzantine era.
Marvelous place with amazing views and interesting history shown in the different architectural features. A bit of s scramble up hill, no fences and people walk on roofs that have partly given way. The place is not protected and there are no guards. Therefore, visitors leave trash and do not show much respect towards the old structures. In my opinion the place is worth a fee for visiting to keep it safe and pretty.
Nina S — Google review
Visiting these ruins, you get a very good idea of the kind of very austere and cramped life the occupants lived as they watched out for assailants. Best visited in the evening, it takes around 30 minutes to walk up the hill. The path mainly takes the form of stone steps. If in doubt on the ascent, take the path that leads UP. Better to wear shoes with some grip, as the stones are well polished. The nearby village is worth a visit on the way down. Great views all round.
Rebecca P — Google review
Amazing place to visit, love that you can wander round freely. The views from the Taverna are spectacular! Avoid the person dressed in costume at the bottom, you don't have to pay them!
Martin L — Google review
Brilliant views, bit of a hike on on unmade path for the castle. We did manage to do in flip flops but would highly recommend more suitable footwear.
Danny T — Google review
Wonderful piece of history, abandoned town ruins, a taverna, and the castle. (Not accessible, many stone uneven steps, relative fitness required!) Stunning views, great to explore.
DK G — Google review
Wow! Possibly my favourite castle in the world. Where it is built is amazing, on a spire of rock which over looks the plains down to the coast. You can see the salt lake in Tigaki and Pserimos and Kalimnos islands. You park in a rough car park at the bottom and then take a 20 minute walk up through the forest, turn left for the castle at the ancient village and right for the taverna. The views were breath taking and you can see why the inhabitants built it here. The village is hidden from the coast by the rock. We had an early start due to the heat and after coming down from the castle we went to the taverna. What an amazing tranquil setting having breakfast and marvelling at the castle and surrounding mountain landscape. The toilets have no roof and are certainly unique. Wear trainers or some substantial footwear as the well worn rock is quite slippery and the track to the castle and taverna is quite rough. I would definitely come here again.
R ( — Google review
Visiting this place involves a bit of a hike with some elevation gain, especially if you are climbing all the way to the castle, so wear good shoes. You will see some amazing sights of the valleys below along the way. Bring water, especially if it is hot.
Andrew R — Google review
It's a must do if you're moderately capable of a 20 minute walk up a hill and back. Interesting history, poor signage though. Getting right to the top of the castle is something we left to the younger generation... It's quite a steep scramble up beyond the old village site, or so we gathered. What you must also is go to the Taverna up a side track (this much was signed), a further 10 minute easy walk up steepish old steps to an oasis of cold beer and Greek Salads. And from there you can see the youngsters on top of the castle beyond... Good on them, we said as we had another cold beer.

Nestled in the heart of Kos, the Altar of Dionysus stands as a remarkable remnant from the 2nd century BCE, showcasing the island's rich mythological and historical tapestry. This ancient site is part of a larger ensemble that includes monuments celebrating Hercules and King Harmylos, alongside Hellenistic treasures like the ancient agora and stadium. Visitors can also explore remnants from various eras, including Roman conservatories and Byzantine basilicas that reflect Kos's diverse cultural heritage.
Smallish ruins with a useful information signboard. Accessible 24/7
Stephen R — Google review
One of the small sites you will find dotted around the town, especially this part of town there is about 7 within a few hundred metres this and the southern part of the Agora are located in a small park.
Dave T — Google review
One needs a lot of imagination to see something that simply is not there! And it's free because it would be hard to convince anyone to pay for a dozen rocks that may, or may not, have been from a temple dedicated to Dionysus. It's only a speculation. I also noticed that most reviewers bundle up the entire Agora with the Altar of Dionysus, so it's not a fair comparison.
Globe T — Google review
There's nothing much left of the altar dedicated to the god of wine. However, the surroundings are nicely maintained, with steps and blocks giving a nice aesthetic to the place.
Lucian M — Google review
Ruins are always special, my 3 stars is representative of the disappointment that the area amd history is not maintained and full of rubbish.
Amanda G — Google review
It’s a nice historical place besides from all the trash laying around. If you’d clean up the site it would be a much better view. I really appreciate the very big head marble statue that just lays calmly in the archeological dig.

Agios Stefanos Beach is a picturesque spot on the island of Kos, offering rentable chairs and umbrellas for a relaxing day by the turquoise waters. Families can enjoy swimming and water sports while having easy access to nearby eateries. The beach also provides an opportunity to explore ancient ruins, including two paleo-Christian churches built in the 5th-6th century AD, with original mosaic floors still visible.
Truly stunning spot. There’s a fairly large parking area right in front of the beach, and additional space to park along the access road. The view is incredible, overlooking ancient ruins and a small island with a charming chapel. The water is crystal clear and relatively shallow, making it perfect for a day out with small children. The sandy beach is well-equipped with sunbeds, and nearby rocky islets offer great fun for snorkeling enthusiasts. For me, this place deserves the maximum number of stars. I was able to relax in peace and in genuinely beautiful surroundings
Tomasz J — Google review
A beautiful beach where history and nature meet. The water is shallow and clear. Of course, this can vary depending on the weather. It's far from the island's center, so you'll need a car or motorcycle-like vehicle. There's parking, but since it's a crowded and popular beach, you might have trouble finding a spot. There's a cafeteria-like kiosk where you can find your essentials. You can rent a sunbed or sit on a stone on the beach and enjoy the sea. As I said, it's a bit of a journey, almost the tip of the island, but it's worth it. It's better to come early. It gets very crowded after that.
Ozan T — Google review
Beautiful experience! €25 for two sunbeds and an umbrella — definitely worth it for the unique view of the Byzantine church ruins and the picturesque islet with its little church just in front. We reached the islet by pedalo (€20 per hour), but it’s also easily accessible by swimming. The water is amazing — crystal clear and refreshing — and we even found a starfish! A must-do if you're in the area!
Mayssa' B — Google review
The best sea in Kos. Sea was so clean and fresh. Also it was great to swim antic beach. You would want to swim to Kastri if you are good at swimming(recommended😊. So natural place to swim so there is no beach club and shower.
Ali K — Google review
The beach itself is amazing and truly unique – swimming right next to 3,000-year-old Greek ruins is an unforgettable experience. The water can be a little cold, but it’s refreshing, and the beach is very child-friendly, which makes it great for families. There are a few challenges though: parking is quite difficult to find, and the free part of the beach gets very crowded. If you don’t arrive early, it’s hard to get a good spot. The other half of the beach belongs to a private hotel, so access is limited. Also, toilets are an issue and could be improved. Overall, despite the practical inconveniences, it’s absolutely worth visiting for the history, the scenery, and the atmosphere.
Uygar T — Google review
Very nice beach next to old ruins. Good place for snorkelling around the ruins where you can see a lot of fish. Beach on the right side had the view on the island but it’s crowded, small places between the sundbeds and they charge you 25 euros for sunbeds witch is ridiculous.. I recommend you to go to the beach on the left side of the ruins where the beach si much better and sunbeds cost ,,only,, 15 euros - (saved 10 euros - better beach - less people). If you want to go there without people, try to stop by around 18:00 to get this view.

Water & Amusement Parks
Park
Lido Water Park is a sprawling 75,000-square-meter family-friendly attraction located in Mastichari, Greece. It features a variety of pools, thrilling slides, crazy rivers, and wave pools. The park also offers a separate kids' area with water toys and shallow waters for the little ones to enjoy. Additionally, there are service facilities such as restaurants, snack bars, coffee bars, changing rooms and mini-markets available on-site.
Superb water park. Reasonably priced, we’d heard buying direct is the best priced option so we purchased our tickets on entry. The free bus makes it easily accessible. The timetable is on their website and return times are displayed at the entrance each day, with a 15minute reminder over the speaker. Good variety of slides with mixed thrill levels that are clearly marked. The wave pool was a huge hit and the different wave styles really mixed it up. Most slides require a minimum height of 120 or accompanied by an adult. A couple of food options but seating could be limited with table service only. So waiting for a seat could be an issue. The food we ate was good quality and fairly priced. All the staff were friendly. I will add that if you want a locker then take cash, as card payments for this is impossible.
Dev T — Google review
It was nice, clean. We visited the park in mid-July and it wasn't too crowded except for the lazy river. (They don't follow safety rules there and none of the lifeguards say anything). It's great that they have organized bus transportation. Otherwise, it's nicely arranged, but nothing special.

Visited Lido Water Park on our visit to Kos and it was a great excursion to split up the holiday. We booked through Offshore Travel who picked us up and dropped us back off at our hotel. Plenty of slides and swimming opportunities for everyone. The food areas were also ideal and reasonably priced! Many staff were situated around the park and were all helpful. A fun day all round.

Great water park. Clean and tidy, free to use sun beds. €7 for locker and get €2 back on key return. Slides fun, black hole was very hot and dark inside, the ratings aren't accurate so don't be fearful. Great wave pool and lazy river was also fun.

Good value water park, mostly empty when I went in September 2025. You'll get all the rides done in one hour and have enough time to get food and drinks. Nice, friendly staff atmosphere.
Jacob D — Google review
We cycled here from Marmari on a Friday. On arrival the massive car park only had a few cars, and there was no queuing at all. Staff were very friendly. Entry was €22 plus €5 for (€7 deposit with €2 back). One locker is plenty big enough for two or more. There park was extremely quiet, so we had our choice of loungers and no queuing at all on the rides. We had a fun afternoon followed by a peaceful rest on loungers. It’s true that the black hole is a bit disorientating as there are no lights or music inside, like at some other parks. The wave pool runs periodically with good steep waves. The lazy river is a decent length. There is a laned pool if you want to swim lengths. More people arrived when the shuttle buses came in, but it was never crowded.
Dunmowpeddler — Google review
Small in terms of slides but the kids loved it. The waves at 12 especially are amazing do not miss the waves. Take advantage of the free shuttle bus ive put a picture of the times as at August 25 The best thing here is the food stall. I have never been to any activity home or abroad that did not take advantage of you for food. Not here great food at great prices the mixed gyros is big enough for 2 people amazing value for money

Limnionas Beach, situated in the southwest of the Island and easily accessible from Kefalos village, offers a choice between strong waves and peaceful waters. This small bay is a haven for fishing and tourist boats, yet remains fairly deserted and quiet. The picturesque fishing port features crystal clear waters with fishing boats bobbing in the distance.
Absolutely amazing! Would pay anything to see it for the first time again! Its a really cool looking beach... On both sides. One side (right) is the main beach area with a larger view of the ocean where some really cute fishing boats come to 'park'. On the other side (left) is a stunning cove type area, my personal recommendation is to definitely bring a mask and snorkel because there is a tonne of fish and squid! There are also little rock pools which are surprisingly warm to sit in, around the cove there are little nooks you can step inside and climb on. I swam to the other side of the cove and it had a beautiful view. Make sure you stay for the sunset it's all shades of red and pink it's to die for.

Really beautiful but pretty far away from the town so u need a Elektrik-bicycle or car. The restaurant is good and the prices are fair. 😊

This is our little paradise. This lovely sandy beach is not so crowded, the water is calm and flat all along the day. We love this bay . You should swim and sunbathe there
Sahan C — Google review
We really enjoyed this beach as it was small and therefore not crowded and very peaceful. The beach is also guarded with a breakwater so there aren't any big waves - easy to swim. You can also order drinks and there is a restaurant nearby. The road to this beach is easily accessible by car with a lot of free parking.

🌊 “Beautiful hidden spot with crystal waters and amazing views. 🏖️ Just be ready for a strong seaweed smell at times – nature’s own perfume! Still, perfect if you’re after peace and quiet away from the crowds.”
Ozan T — Google review
Quite nice and scenic beach in a little bay protected by rocks, which also doubles as a port for a handful of fishing boats. The water was very tranquil, despite the open sea being a bit rough when I visited. It is also transparent, although the bay is patched more often than not with algae on the bottom. So when you walk on the sea bed it feels a bit slimy and uneven. The beach is quite small and could become a bit busy despite not being attended by the masses. The large part of the beach is occupied by umbrellas and sun beds for rent. There is a secondary cove where you can freely attend. And also another small cove on the back, which is however less protected from the open sea and has a more rocky bed. A restaurant is in the back of the beach, by the side of the road. It however does not offer take away if you want to have a quick bite on the beach.
Matteo B — Google review
The beach looks beautiful but it's not a patch on the nearby kohilari beach. The sand underfoot in the sea felt slimy probably because it's more of a cove and there's less movement but it was not pleasant. There are a few sunbeds but we didn't stay long enough to use them. We honestly came for the restaurant really which was fantastic.

Water & Amusement Parks
Aquatica Water Park is a thrilling destination located on the south coast of Kos near Kardamena. It offers an array of pools and slides, some of which provide stunning views of the island and ocean. The park features various rides such as single and multi-lane slides, a water vortex, tubing river, and covered flumes with different speeds. Families can enjoy a dedicated pool and playground for little ones while parents relax on reclining chairs.
Writing this in early October but we absolutely loved the water park, for info for other people we was stopping at the portabella beach so it was free for us, the water isn't salt water which was a real good thing for us with our hotel pool been salt water no burning eyes when going down the slides lol, food and drink had yo be paid for which we didn't mind we only got drinks anyway as its a 5 min walk back to the hotel. The slides were fantastic and all of them were open but they do close in sections over dinner time. Had a fab time and if we had gone earlier in yhe week we would have spent more time there just for the non salt water pool, rubber rings for the slides weren't in abundance ill say that and I imagine in the school holidays this would even be worse but maybe they put more out I dont really know we only had to wait a few mins for one once. The kids splash park and small rides were brilliant for our 7 month old. Would recommend
Martin H — Google review
Arrived at water park shortly after it opened. Staff on the ticket area welcoming and explained the park areas. Hardly anyone there so me and my family got settled and explored without any issues. Me and my wife tackled the first slide as we entered which is probably the most scariest. I managed to do all but 2 as I was probably all scared out. It is a small park but good for the area amongst the mountains. They have a swimware change box but the toilets are downstairs under the cafe area. The cafe got very busy and very slow around midday, maybe needs a system change. There is a carpark but can only fit a dozen or so vehicle's. I enjoy the lazy swim and the loungers. Good place to visit, moderate prices.
Rob W — Google review
No big queues when we visited. Sunbeds included in entry. Lots of great slides and a lazy river. The cafe has a simple and reasonably priced menu.
Victoria W — Google review
Water park was small but well run. As it is a family environment with kids surrounding the park, it was a shame to have smoking widely accepted in all areas. It would be good to have a designated smoking area rather than a free for all Toilets weren't well signposted, they're next to the cafe downstairs, if like us you walked around the whole park trying to find them. Good was ok, well priced for a leisure park. €3.50 for a toastie and €4 for french fries The stairs to The Wave and The Bowl slides were metal and by 12pm had become molten hot, so we recommend taking flip flops up and then wrapping them around your wrist to ride the slides Lazy river wasnt too lazy with people running around it and pushing you out of the way, would've been good to have it manned and paroled to stop bad behaviour
Victoria E — Google review
Really good slides, much bigger slides here than the ones at the other water park especially the blue one - you won’t be disappointed . But there is limited shade, food is limited and the swimming pools are small. Oh and the changing area is one person only - a very small shed (literally). Worth a go though if you want BIG slides!
Keith H — Google review
We stayed in Kardamena for two weeks, August/September 2025, and decided to take our grandkids, 9 and 6 years old to the waterpark. Since there is another waterpark, Lido, on Kos and we have been to that, we chose Aquatica this time. A great experience for both the kids and ourselves. There were seven different larger slides and a smaller section for younger kids. If you want speed and that tickling feeling in the stomach you will get it from some of the slides whilst others are more of a smooth ride. The only negative thing we experienced was when we took a short lunch break at the small restaurant. Some of the dishes like pizza and chicken nuggets is delivered from the connected hotel and should take 30 minutes to get. It ended up with hotdogs and toasts which they made themselves. Both Aquatica and Lido are nice in different aspects. Lido has a huge wave pool, which is really fun, where you also just can swim around if you need to cool down. Aquatica is squeezed into a smaller area which makes everything closer to each other and also have a larger variety of slides. On the other hand Lido's "Lazy river" is more cosy and longer. The best advice is maybe to visit them both.
Mats B — Google review
Great place to spend thr day, we went with 4 adults and 3 children. The slides are fun and all except 2 of them, you need an inflatable. 2 of them are double riders only, the rest are double or single riders. You can just relax by the pools or on the lazy river. We took our own food and plenty of water, although there was signs that said you couldn't but they don't check. Fun splash park for younger children. Plenty of loungers, not overcrowded. Would recommend wearing water shoes, sandels or flip flops as the ground gets extremely hot. You can also wear them on the slides.
Steven B — Google review
We had a fun time at this water park. It’s on the smaller side, but there are enough attractions to enjoy some hours of entertainment. Even though we visited on a beautiful day, the waiting times were very short, which made it easy to enjoy everything. As for the staff, we had read some mixed comments before, but our experience was the opposite: everyone we met was kind and friendly. A nice option if you’re looking for a relaxed visit without too much hustle.

Nice natural park with a paved walkway to the top looking at the animals along the way. There's a little shop at the top to get a drink and bite to eat with a seating area. You can use cash or card and it's reasonably priced

A very beautiful park in the village of Zia. The village alone is worth a visit. The entrance fee is 5 euros and it takes about 60 minutes to explore the park. If you love animals, you should stop by here. In the evening you also have a beautiful view of the sunset.

A really nice place with magnificent view. It has a small amount of native animals that you can check out as you climb. A lot of stairs! If you have issues with mobility, do not attempt! This path does not go all the way to the top, but at the end of the climb there is a small romantic place to take pictures

Ktima Marangos, also known as the Traditional House of Kefalos, is a labor of love built by Michalis and Anna Marangou. The estate features a representation of the traditional house of Kefalos adorned with incredible objects and rare heirlooms that offer insight into the history, tradition, and way of life in the village.
The food is the best. You get beautiful salads, courgettes and beans, I personally don’t eat salad but the rest of the party said they were lovely. Now, the main course. It’s just the best selection of local meats. Pork sausage, pork steaks, chicken, and more. All cooked to perfection on the charcoal grill in front of you. Simple food, not messed with and done perfectly. And it just keeps coming. If you want more, you get more until you can eat anymore. Also, you must try the homemade lemonade and pomegranate drinks. They’re the best on the island! The setting is also beautiful. Outside, everything very traditional. Absolutely wonderful in every way.

Came here a few years ago as well. Anna and her husband are very welcoming! Relaxed atmosphere. All the food is home grown produce and cooking is phenomenal and plenty of it. A must visit! Highly recommend! We went on bbq night and took home what we couldn't finish. Sundays they cook whole lamb in traditional oven.

The traditional greek house that is over 100 years old. There is a normal house next to it where the grandson of the original farmer lives now. He is very sweet and he showed us around the house and the garden. He saved everything from his grandparents and displayed it in the garden and the small old houses. There are tools and pictures on the walls. It is for free but please tip him some money in the box. It is very nice and it took a lot of work. You can park your car in front of the house gate.

Markos Beach, also known as Παραλία Ψηλός Γκρεμός, is a small but beautiful part of the expansive beach that stretches along the southern side of Kos, located between Kefalos and Kardamena.
Simply the best. These super comfy sun loungers are just €12 for 2. Sand only, no rocks/stones. Crystal clear water. Easily accessible by car/on foot. Nice beach bar (but quiet, no loud music thankfully) with variety of drinks and food to choose from. I don’t understand why is it so empy! It was busy on Sunday- I guess local people know where to go.

Accidentally found beach - turned out it was a jewel on island and not crowded at all. Considering the fact this is very popular island for vacations we were stunned how few people were actually there. Water was perfect, clean and fun for diving. Must visit!

Great beach and crystal clear waters.

Markos beach is just a small part of the vast beach which covers the southern side of Kos, between Kefalos and Kardamena. It has a designated exit from the road which connects Kefalos with the airport. It can be reached by car, motorcycle or even bicycle from Kefalos (if you have slightly good physical condition). It has a small restaurant (taverna), a small shed/café which offers basic drinks and snacks, showers, booths to change clothes and sunbeds/umbrellas for rent. To the sides of the organized part, there is LOTS of space if you want to stay away from the crowd. The beach is completely covered by slightly coarse sand, which is not muddy or sticky. If there are northern winds, which is extremely common in the Aegean sea around July/August, there are no waves. However, be careful of gusts of wind which may blow away your belongings! Inside the water, it's a bit steep, but there are no stones or rocks whatsoever. Just the same type of sand and crystal clear waters.

Therma Springs Kos is a popular spot for wellness treatments, featuring healing hot springs and a small beach that resembles an artificially created lake by the sea. Visitors can enjoy the fantastic hot springs and clear water for swimming, as well as relax on the small beach to soak up the sun. The area is also home to adorable goats that add to its charm.
The tooth and nothing else! It is a wonderful location. We walked from Fokas up the hill due to the bus schedule. The distance is approximately 3 kilometers. The descent from the top, where the restaurant is located, is manageable, although the gravel is somewhat loose. The pool, where the spring is situated, is small but still offers ample space. The water has a slight smell of eggs 🥚, but it is not overwhelming. The spring water is hot 😉, making the transition from the hot spring to the cold sea quite enjoyable. The goats are delightful; be sure to bring a few apples for them. You can also receive a full body massage 💆‍♂️ for 20 euros, which my partner described as excellent quality 👌 and very affordable. The bus schedules vary, but most buses depart from Kos Town on the hour, taking approximately 25 minutes to reach the destination, which may be helpful.
Mark P — Google review
What a great little gem. We got there just after 9am on a Thursday and there were only a handful of other people already so it was not busy at all and you could easily enjoy a hot bath. The journey down to the spring and back up can be a bit of a trek as it's quite rocky and sandy so make sure you're wearing comfortrable shoes but the views on your way in are great.
Jędrzej S — Google review
The best time to visit is first thing on a morning. Take wet shoes with you for in the water and trainers for the walk down the hill. Take a snorkel too as loads of fish. The water is hotter than you think. It's free, natural however not toilets. It's nice and tidy. Support the local business in the car park also. Parking is free and is safe.
Sean P — Google review
We came here by car on a cloudy yet rainy day on the afternoon. You can park your car right at the end of the road next to a kiosk and walk down easily a 300m trail. After a little (not so pretty) beach the hot spring appears which is absolutely unique. It’s around 10 to 15m in diameter and very! hot. Beautiful stony beach right after it. Probably it’s totally crowded on a sunny day so I’d visit either very early or late and probably when it’s cloudy/rainy.
Adrian D — Google review
I think this place is a marmite situation, you'll love it or hate it. It wasn't for me unfortunately the smell was too strong, it was busy and etc. However - here are some tips if you go: - Take solid bottom water shoes, it's sharp and difficult to walk without them. - Take care walking down the path not to slip on loose stones - You can park on either side of cafe at the top, you can drive down to bottom but it's steep and not recommend without a 4x4 vehicle - It's free
Amy E — Google review
The thermal water is veeery hot at the spring, but gets colder towards the sea. Sadly it was packed with tourists (11am) and we didn't feel like going in as it's quite small. Try coming in the early morning hours 😊
Tina R — Google review
Very hot water in a small pond carved out from the see with stones. I didn't find it very clean with all these people packed together in it. You can better take a jump in the colder water just behind where also a little bit of warm water comes through.

Nestled on the slopes of Mount Dikeos, Θέα Ζιάς is a picturesque mountain village on Kos Island that captivates visitors with its stunning sunsets and sweeping views. The charming streets are lined with traditional whitewashed houses and vibrant local shops, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for leisurely strolls. As you wander through the narrow alleys, you'll discover cozy tavernas serving authentic Greek cuisine, many of which boast sunset terraces ideal for dining while soaking in the breathtaking scenery.
Zia - one word … BEAUTIFUL Very small little town up the mountainside. Went around 10am which is was quiet and then again 6pm in preparation for the sunset. People come by the coach load for the sunset usually arriving 7pm ish so if your thinking of watching the sunset in a restaurant then booking is a must as it gets very very busy. We got there early using our on means of transport so ate at 5:30-6pm which we could easily get in a restaurant but most other tables were already reserved for the chaos which lays ahead. The sunset …. Stunning and worth the watch. We went to the national park to watch it rather than the busy restaurants. The park cost 5euro each and was home to some animals too which was nice on the walk up the hill to the highest point to watch the sunset.

Beautiful little ancient city nestled up in the mountains. Dont recommend to drive up there on a scooter ! Very small curvy roads. The whole city is built very steep - so no high heels ! Lots of cute little shops and restaurants - definitely worth a visit.
Sarah A — Google review
A quiet, charming mountain village with beautiful views. We drove about 40 minutes from Kos city center. The roads are narrow, so driving carefully is essential. It's a popular village, so it can get quite crowded, so it's best to arrive early. You can grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants, cafes, and taverns in the village. You can also shop at the souvenir shop.
Ozan T — Google review
Great to visit for the sundown, get there early as parking can be challenging! If the main car park is full, follow the road through the village to find two more parking areas. Lots of small shops to explore and some great restaurants too. Try to get in one of the rooftop bars to watch the amazing sunset, or stand on the road by the concrete wall for a good view, but this area gets super busy.
Stuart H — Google review
Absolutely stunning village day or night. Obviously everyone goes for the sunset, which is phenomenal, but the views in general are worth it. Food was lovely where we ate and there wasn't a shortage of tables. Just watch out for the ginormous coaches bringing thrones of people through the narrow streets. Definitely worth a trip.

Well recommended. Amazing little village up in the mountains with fantastic views of Kos and catch it at sunset to see great views of the setting sun. Restaurants are all amazing. Great shopping. Lovely twisty run up and down the mountain. A must place to visit. Stunning village. See you soon. Thanks

Zia is a charming little town perched on the mountain, best known for its breathtaking sunsets. In the late afternoon, crowds rush up to catch the view, which can make parking a bit hectic, and the same goes for the descent once the sun sets. But it’s absolutely worth it. Whether you’re enjoying the panorama from one of the cozy bars and restaurants or joining the crowds at the free vantage points, the scenery is unforgettable. The town is also filled with delightful souvenir shops and tempting ice cream spots, adding to the experience. Once the sun dips below the horizon and the bustle of drinks, dinner, and shopping winds down, Zia returns to its peaceful, quiet charm.

Really great place, very friendly and lively to be outdoors. Loved seeing all the locals watching a film in English. Only complaints were the seats became very uncomfortable after a couple of hours, and the sounds of teenagers munching popcorn non stop behind us 🤣 . But go, it's a great experience, if only to realise how good other cultures are at languages, and its just nice watching a film outside in the warmth of a summers evening 😀

39Ancient Gymnasium

Historical landmark
The Ancient Gymnasium in Kos is a part of a larger complex of Hellenistic and Roman remains. It was where athletes competed in ancient times, and the structure had 64 columns, with 17 restored, and a massive white marble roof. The site also includes Casa Romana, a well-preserved mansion from the second century, resembling those found in Pompeii. Visitors can explore other nearby attractions such as the Roman Odeon and the Ancient Temple of Dionysos.
The Ancient Gymnasium is another fascinating historical site in Kos, and like the Odeum, it’s free to visit. The large remains of four pillars—likely part of the building’s original façade—are especially striking, and there are several smaller ruins scattered around the area that are worth seeing. Together with the Odeum, it’s one of the best-preserved and most interesting archaeological sites on the island. Definitely worth a stop if you’re exploring Kos Town.
Glen B — Google review
Looks really interesting from the outside but unfortunately when we visited (April) the gates where shut and everything was overgrown. Still lots of items standing but also a shame to see so many blocks and pillars etc fallen over on the floor. I can see from previous reviews you can get into this place in the past with shrubs cut back, hopefully this is the case again in the future so this place can be enjoyed and seen more close up.
Matt H — Google review
Again, closed on a Tuesday for some bizarre reason, like all the archaeological sites it Kos town. This is a large site which also contains the hippodrome baths, etc, which you would expect to find in an old Greek/Roman Gymnasium. It's overgrown in part but nonetheless impressive site. Free entry
Dave T — Google review
A very nice ancient city it could be better as there are lots of trash but it's reserved very nice
Talu B — Google review
A lot of the structures are still in place. The gymnasium was part of an ancient complex consisting of the Acropoli, the Hippodrome, the Nymphaeum. A couple of temples to Aphrodite and Hercules were also here. It's free to visit and roam around the ruins, but don't expect to see any information on them.
Lucian M — Google review
Fascinating place! Two Roman roads and incredible mosaics!! Entry is free of charge
Michael P — Google review
Quite a shame really as this area was heavily overgrown with weeds. I understand it’s free but I’d figure local gov would at least keep things tidy. Not sure if there was any posts explaining what things were but I looked them up later.
James R — Google review
Most of the mosaics were covered which was disappointing but understandable due to foot traffic and sun still some good things to see and few to access

Historical landmark
The Loggia mosque, also known as the Mosque of Gazi Hassan Pasha, was constructed in 1786 and is situated behind the Plane Tree. Originally belonging to the Turkish minority in Kos, it has not been used for prayer for quite some time. Below the mosque, there are shops where visitors can purchase various souvenirs, including a translated version of the famous Hippocratic Oath available in multiple languages.
A great example of history. It should be quickly restored and made suitable for visits again. This is a point where religions and cultures coexist.

Damaged badly, it’s sad to see such. historical place of worship in such a condition. Hope to see this restore. It was built in 1758 by Gazi Hassan Pasha.

The mosque is called "Zhdanie" (Pasha Mosque) and "Chsaniye" (Bazaar Mosque). It was built in the 17th century by Pasha Sheri.

(Translated by Google) It's worth stopping there if you're on your way to Kos, for example. From the outside, the mosque doesn't look that exciting or interesting. But inside, you'll have a real wow factor. We went there specifically because we found a report about it in the guidebook. At first, we thought it was closed because a small garden gate wasn't open, but you have to be curious! A simple little latch just had to be pushed aside and you could enter the small, well-kept courtyard without any prohibition signs! The entrance to the mosque was also open, and we were able to enter the anteroom completely alone and undisturbed. A sign asked guests to remove their shoes when entering the prayer room, which we respected, of course. There were a couple of slightly dilapidated plastic overshoes that you could pull over your socks. But even without this protection, you could step onto the beautiful blue and extremely well-kept carpet and admire this place of worship in peace. The attached photos show the beautiful prayer room with its blue tiles and mosaic-covered walls. We didn't meet a single person, so we left the mosque somewhat reverently and dutifully closed the door on the garden gate. It felt like everyone was welcome here. Thank you. Danke

(Translated by Google) It's a clean, beautiful mosque. It's important that it's open. The mosque in the center of Kos was also actively used before the earthquake, but it's currently under renovation. However, this mosque is still active. You can come and pray, and you can pray with the congregation during the daily prayers. May God be pleased with those who built it, amen. Embark on the Poseidon Boat Tour for an unforgettable experience exploring the sea bottom and visiting Vathy, Kalymnos, and Pserimos. The tour includes a delicious lunch in Vathy and ample time for swimming around the ship. The friendly staff ensures a welcoming atmosphere with tasty cocktails available at reasonable prices. Enjoy the opportunity to visit stunning beaches that are otherwise difficult to reach. With spacious accommodations and entertaining crew members, this boat tour promises an amazing day filled with fun and adventure.
Wow! The trip was absolutely amazing! Really great atmosphere and lots of time to enjoy swimming/snorkeling near Plati and at the beach in Pserimos. We also saw dolphins, Mike is an excellent dolphin whisperer ;) The entire crew was exceptional! An awesome day out, would recommend!
Malgorzata N — Google review
Definitely a highlight of the holiday, had so much fun on this trip, drinks were great perfect if you want to chill out or go to the front of the boat later on in the day and have a boogie. Saw some dolphins too which was awesome, such a great day out. Only negative we had was the quality of the food on the first island (part of the package), it was very underwhelming. Other than that, would highly recommend!
Jamie M — Google review
We tried this tour with my wife, it was a great activity for as! Transfer from and to our hotel was included. The staff was very kind! You can have awesome and cheap cocktails onboard. The ship may be full but this is doesn’t matter as the price is very low and include a lunch in Vathy, Kalymnos. You have low time on Vathy & Pserimos but this is normal and enough to get a taste of this wonderful destinations! You also have the chance to jump and swim around the ship and is pretty amazing experience! I suggest this activity to anyone who wants a full day trip!
Georgios S — Google review
This was a great trip and the cocktails on the boat were great, 1 of the stops you don’t actually get off but they stop near it and let you swim in the sea. We also stopped at one place to see the dolphins x

This is the third time we have done this boat trip and this time we went on the Poseidon and we weren't let down. It was an amazing trip and the trip staff made it great fun. The day is brilliant, and you get to see some placed that are just out of this world. The lunch was great and just what we needed, and for the money we paid it was great. The only thing that I would say is that it would have been good to have maybe 15 minutes more at each of the islands when getting off, but other from that top notch tour and would do again like a heart beat. Thank you guys and keep up the hard work as you are doing a great job.
James B — Google review
What an excellent boat trip. Probably the best I've been on in all my holidays around the Mediterranean. And the dolphins made it very special. The crew are fantastic and the islands that in visited are perfect. We'll worth the money.
Julian A — Google review
The boat trip was cool and crew was very welcoming, polite and funny. Cocktails on boat are delicious and for good prices. We saw islands and had an opportunity to swim in beaches which would not be easy to approach by ourselves. Before the trip I read reviews that boat is overcrowded but most probablly now with this covid-19 situation this has changed, there was enough space for everybody. Second thing I read before the trip- all tourist boats stop at the same islands at the same time- it's not true :) only in third Island came 3 more boats. In others- we were alone. Thanks for great expierince, keep going👌🏻
Alise Z — Google review
I tested, so you don't have to! We asked for a relaxed boat when booking and were assured that "Poseidon" was such a boat. There can be no talk of a three-island tour. A party boat with a short shore leave is a better description. The first stop is after being waved through a few tourist souvenir stalls. For lunch „BBQ“ turned out to be a plate meal (salad/vegetables and the end crust of a bread, just ok in terms of taste). After lunch, we stopped in front of an island to jump into the water. You can take a pair of diving goggles with a snorkel mouthpiece from a bucket, hygienic... The last stop was another short stretch of beach with three huts. We didn't see much. Reading on the smartphone: Wi-Fi to chuck in the dustbin. The horror was the constant sound of the worst Ballermann chartbusters including animation like from the dumping price package holiday. Alcohol was not in short supply; the staff was eager... Be warned to all those who are looking forward to a pleasant, relaxed three-island tour. I really can only advise against this experience and recommend spending the day relaxing on the beach. The best part of the trip was when we came back and could finally leave the ship…

Nestled in the charming Old Town of Kos, the Minaret de la mosquée Bab Gedid stands as a poignant reminder of the island's rich Ottoman heritage. Located near Diagora Square, this elegant structure is one of the few monuments that survived the devastating earthquake of 1933. While it may be partially damaged and somewhat isolated, its silhouette continues to enchant visitors who wander through this historic area.
(Translated by Google) This beautiful minaret in the old town of Kos, although discreet, reminds us of the presence of the Turks in the history of this Greek island. Mohamed H — Google review
(Translated by Google) In the heart of Kos Old Town, just off Eleftherias Square, an elegant minaret still stands today, a remnant of the Bab Gedid Mosque—literally, "new gate" in Arabic. Although isolated and partially damaged, it stands as a silent witness to the island's Ottoman past, reminding us that worshippers once gathered here for prayer. Today, although only the silhouette of the minaret remains, its presence continues to captivate passersby. More than a mere ruin, it embodies the living memory of a bygone era and contributes to understanding the multifaceted history of Kos—a crossroads island where Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Knights of St. John, Ottomans, and then Italians have all passed through its doors.

Peters Beach offers a picturesque setting for those looking to tie the knot in Greece, with its warm sands and the shimmering Aegean Sea providing a breathtaking backdrop. Imagine exchanging vows surrounded by rustic decorations that enhance rather than overshadow the natural beauty of Kos. This idyllic location allows you and your guests to fully embrace the enchanting atmosphere of a summer evening on the island. After soaking up the sun and enjoying the crystal-clear waters, finding suitable accommodation is essential for ensuring a peaceful getaway.

It does not seem to be maintained properly, but it's not that bad walking on the beach. My biggest problem were sea urchins (hedgehogs), you have to be really careful when getting inside and out of water.
