The Flower Clock, located in Vina del Mar, Chile, is a stunning garden clock adorned with vibrant flowers. Built to commemorate the 1962 World Cup hosted by Vina del Mar, this fully functional timepiece features a face made entirely of flowers meticulously maintained to not obstruct its white metal hands. Every 15 minutes, the clock chimes and plays seasonal music. A popular spot for visitors seeking picturesque photo opportunities, it stands as a testament to Vina's nickname 'The Garden City.'
This is a beautifully landscaped flower clock that blooms throughout the year and is symbolic of picturesque Viña del Mar. This attraction is definitely worth a visit when in the Valparaiso area of Chile.
Peter K — Google review
It was a flower clock .. what can I say !!!! Ah, Viña del Mar! Okay, the Flower Clock there... right. It's one of those "tourist attraction" things. You know, you see it in the brochures, and you think, "Okay, sure, why not?" And then you get there, and it's… a clock made of flowers. Exactly as advertised. Look, it's not offensive. It's kind of cute, I guess. People were definitely taking photos, doing the whole "pose and smile" routine. I did too, because, well, when in Viña del Mar, right? But let's be honest, it's not exactly a "must-see." It's a quick pit stop, a photo op, and then you're off to find something more interesting. Viña del Mar has so much more to offer – the beaches, the coastline, the gardens. Compared to those, the Flower Clock just feels a bit… meh. It's not that it's bad, it's just that it's not exactly a highlight. If you're walking along the coast, it's a nice little diversion. But if you're on a tight schedule, you're not missing out on much if you skip it. Basically, it's a clock. Made of flowers. In Viña del Mar. If that sounds like your thing, go for it. If not, there are plenty of other, more exciting things to do in the city.
Piyush P — Google review
The maintenance and well manicured flowers was amazing to see up close. You can only appreciate the beauty in person
Prakash P — Google review
A pretty flower clock. The beach is nearby. Worth the 5 min visit to have a quick look, but nothing too special.
Tina — Google review
Standing before the Flower Clock in Viña del Mar felt like stepping into a postcard. The vibrant, meticulously arranged flowers forming the clock face create a stunning contrast against the lush greenery. It's more than just a landmark—it's a symbol of the city's charm and attention to detail.
Santanu M — Google review
Hi my name is Daniela, nice place to stop by and take photos. A lot of tourists
Divina D — Google review
Very beautiful and well maintained area. The clock is fully functional, but the area can get very busy with tourists and people. Parking is very limited, and usually, tour busses fill them up. You will only spend a few minutes here, but it's pretty to look at.
Melissa P — Google review

Outdoor Activities
Renaca Beach is a bustling and vibrant stretch of white sand located in the northern part of Vina del Mar. It's a popular spot for sunbathing, surfing, and people-watching. The beach is lined with bars, cafes, and vendors selling various treats. Nearby amenities include restaurants, cafes, and stalls offering traditional crafts. Renaca Beach is known for its lively atmosphere and proximity to the nightlife of Vina del Mar.
It’s a beautiful beach, super clean and full of vibrant positive people, respectful tourists, most of whom are from Argentina. If you’re thinking about getting into the ocean and swim a little bit, get that thought out of your mind, the water is super cold and impossible to swim.
Mansour M — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking! Can’t think of a time I felt more relaxed. Even if it was a quick visit.
Brock R — Google review
One of the best beaches of Viña Del Mar. Nice costanera for a walk, full of restaurants and hotels to stay.
Alexander R — Google review
Very good ! Nice beach, but considering it’s a Chilean Pacific beach, that means , cold water, windy and not a real real summer. The beach almost disappears because of the short beach and is always like a well and is quite dangerous. It is not a beach suitable for swimming or enjoying the water. But the palace is beautiful because of the people that are almost all of them Mendocineans. It’s a nice place I think one of the best close to Santiago. But summarizing Chilean beaches are not good at all. Atlantic is way way better with Long Beaches… But the view is beautiful!!
Lucas M — Google review
Reñaca is an area known for its beaches and balnearios located in the Valparaiso Region of Chile. Situated along the coastline, the city of Reñaca is near the city of Viña del Mar. The two are connected by a long coastal road named Avenida Borgoño. Reñaca serves as a residential area predominantly catering to the upper-middle class, and provides a coastal lifestyle with access to amenities and recreational activities. Reñaca is at the northernmost extreme of the city of Viña del Mar and has been incorporated by it. The beach of Cochoa and the town of Concón is located to the north along the coast road. The lower part of the hill overlooking the beach is covered with residential buildings up the hillside. The town also extends eastward up the valley through which the Estero de Reñaca flows, where the majority of the year-round population lives.

We stopped at beach as part of the tour. It was empty when we went there, spotted sealions and pelicans
Chandra R — Google review
Beautiful beach, water is on the cold side. Few people, great place for long walks on the beach. Tall waves, not safe for small children.

The north sections of the beach is knowed as one of the best spots to surf near Santiago. Really fun, lots of barrels but really crowded

Quinta Vergara is a stunning park in Vina del Mar, featuring a Venetian Gothic palace, an art museum, and an impressive amphitheater where performances are held. The park is located to the south, surrounded by the city's traditional mansions and a commercial district centered on Plaza Vergara. Every January, classical music concerts take place in the huge outdoor amphitheater within Parque Quinta Vergara.
Impressively beautiful park! The palace is gorgeous and the animal-shaped hedges are very cute.

Beautiful park. The museums are closed on Mondays. But the garden was gorgeous.
Emilia V — Google review
Beautiful park surrounding the palace and venue. There are a couple of hiking trails following a stream of water with a beautiful urban wetland restored and protected by organized neighbors
Javiera M — Google review
It is a beautiful and serene place. The theatre is huge and I would love to be here during the Viña del Mar festival. It is one of the biggest events they say. There were so many different and unique things being sold here. I wanted to purchase everything. The best part was the peaceful and green garden where people sat and enjoyed with their loved ones.
Jagmohan M — Google review
Beautiful place to visit. They offer free tours in several languages. I recommend it to everyone! There are always special exhibits and the one I saw was stunning!

Beautiful park close to the sea, nice venetian architecture. Impressive auditorium Quinta Vergara for 20.000 visitors. The exterior is a bit untidy, but I believe that during concerts there is a great atmosphere.

We went to a concert and gambling. The slots really don't pay. We are used to casinos in the US and this one is tight. The show itself was good (Raul DiBlasio- a pianist) was very good. The organization of the casino was just ok. The initial entry to the amphitheater was too slow. We all waited for about 1/2 hour before door opened. They should start seating earlier. The place was so hot that the fans turned on mid performance. They were loud and we could not hear. Luckily the complaints made them turn the fans off.

Wonderful place! The People working at the lift were super lovely! I can’t believe this structure still works by human force. The spot itself is amazing. There are lots of restaurants around with the best views of Valparaiso. 🫶

I took the lift which was 100 chilean pesos. I didn’t have cash but luckily a local had a gave me the change. It was quite fun taking it but remember to have some cash for it. The views on the top are quite nice.

Ascensor Reina Victoria is a super fun little funicular railway in the heart of Valparaíso, Chile! It’s definitely worth visiting if you’re in this city as it’s a fun experience and provides great views. It is extremely old (built in 1902) but it still runs great. The area has a playground for children, seats, and streetlights, and it’s quite inexpensive to ride the funicular. It’s also in a great walking area for you to explore all the shops, restaurants, and street art! Definitely put this on your list of saved places!
Michael — Google review
An interesting place to visit as tourist because of the view at dusk. Has criative and interesting graffiti around the top of Reina Victoria. Also has a slide (funny). The ascensor takes you to a hill full of colourful bars and cheering retaurants, beautiful graffiti and souvenir stores. Totally recommend going and eating in one of these restaurants.

Wulff Castle, also known as Castillo Wulff, is a historic mansion built in the early 20th century by German industrialist Gustavo Adolfo Wulff. Perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this castle offers stunning ocean views and serves as a cultural center with exhibits showcasing its rich history. Very nice place to see if you are walking throughout the Viña Del Mar seafront, after you pass caleta abarca beach and Hotel Sheraton, about 10 min more walking it’s this nice Castle which has an small museum and wonderful views!! Very recommend place to visit and near bus stop!

This castle was built in 1906 by a German coal trader as well as maritime transporter, by the name of Gustavo Adolfo Wullf. In 1995 it was declared a "National Historic Monument" and as a result, locals and tourists have been enjoying this signature in time. The architecture, and the many amazing viewing sites make this place worth the time and take in.

Plaza Sotomayor is a bustling square in Valparaiso, flanked by the Chilean navy headquarters and a central memorial honoring naval heroes. The surrounding area includes the commercial quarter with its port works, warehouses, banks, and shopping center. Adjacent to the bay are administrative buildings grouped around the plaza. The lower part of the city also features the cathedral, parks, boulevards, theaters, cafes, and colonial buildings like the church of La Matriz.
Plaza Sotomayor is a nice place to walk around, see the monument, and enjoy the old buildings nearby. Everything is close, the port, the pier, and some good cafés where you can relax and have a coffee. It can get a bit crowded, so keep an eye on your things. Overall, a nice and interesting spot to visit in the city.

Plaza Santa Maya is a must-visit walk through spot in Valparaíso! It’s beautifully nestled among some important historical buildings and sits right at the base of a couple of the city’s iconic cable cars. From here, you can walk along the waterfront, hop on a boat, or just take in the view. When I visited on a Saturday, there was a charming little craft fair happening, adding even more color and life to the plaza. It’s picturesque, full of character, and a perfect place to snap some great photos. Definitely a gemstone of Valparaíso. Follow me on TikTok for more travel finds! Sage0.x

Plaza Sotomayor is the main square of Valparaíso and a great starting point to explore the city. It’s home to the impressive blue Naval Headquarters building and the Monument to the Heroes of Iquique, which honors Chilean sailors. Surrounded by historic architecture and close to the port, the plaza combines history, culture, and daily local life. A must-see landmark before taking the funiculars up to the colorful hills.
Vakhtang J — Google review
Was ok but no where to park and the plaza is not like the typical plazas we’ve visited where you can grab a bench and relax. It was in the middle of two busy, busy streets.
Kevin F — Google review
When the artisanal market "Victoria Porteña" is there you can see some of the best local art made by porteños themselves such as fine stone jewellery, silk-screen printing, wood-cut printing, wooden puzzles, knitted clothing among others. You can also get great food in the local restaurants around the plaza and visit Muelle Prat for a boat ride. Recently, works have been announced for this place by the city so it could be closed in the near future

Specialty Museums
La Sebastiana Museo de Pablo Neruda is a hilltop house museum in Valparaiso, Chile, showcasing the personal effects of the renowned poet. Visitors can explore all three levels of Neruda's former residence and admire the city views and harbor below. The museum offers an inside look at his historic 1950s style and sources of inspiration. It is a must-visit for those interested in Latin American literature and provides a unique insight into the life of Pablo Neruda.
Awesome visit. The museum/house is kept in its original state so using the guide takes you a bit back in time and feel the energy that Pablo Neruda and his friends brought to the home.
Vlad V — Google review
The famous Chilenian poet's house. The decoration is quite playful and luxurious. From all the rooms, the view was great. You need to put your backpack in the locker, and it has to be 100-peso coin, that returns when collect your item back. 9500 pesos and the audio guide is included. I would say, 15min is just good enough? Not much to see. The view outside the house(free) is the best photo you would get!
Zara K — Google review
Amazing five level home overlooking the port city of Valparaiso. It houses an eclectic collection of personal items and furniture from the mind of a Nobel prize winning author. The audio guide well constructed and provides great insight into the man and his world. The views from his office and bedroom are astonishing. It is expensive at $9.000 per ticket, but that helps with maintenance costs and crowd control. We thought it was worth it. Oh, the young men at the entrance to the home were very helpful. They spoke multiple languages.
Paul — Google review
What a fantastic house. You don't even need to be a fan of Pablo Neruda to enjoy a wander around the 5 floors of this beautiful house with some of the best views across Valparaiso and out to sea. I highly recommend a visit.
Tony F — Google review

Hugh — Google review
Worth going for the creative details inside: eclectic furniture, artefacts and artwork. The views of course are amazing and the audio guide good for the info. There is still a great vibe to the place.
Richard E — Google review
The place was fantastic to visit. You get an audio guide (free) and you get to visit the five floors of Pablo Neruda's house. Great insights on the poet's life. Don't miss it if you are in Valpo.
Al_ _ — Google review
I recently visited the Pablo Neruda Museum and had a good time. The museum has a lot of interesting information about Neruda's life and work. The exhibits are well-organized, with personal items, photos, and manuscripts that tell his story. One of the best parts was the amazing view from the museum. The scenic location offers beautiful sights that add to the overall experience. It's a peaceful place to enjoy and reflect on Neruda's poetry. However, the ticket price felt a bit too high for what was offered. While the museum is worth visiting, the cost might be too much for some people. Nestled in the vibrant city of Viña del Mar, the Museo de Arqueología e Historia Francisco Fonck is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts and culture lovers alike. This charming museum features an impressive collection of artifacts that highlight local heritage, including a striking 500-year-old Moai statue from Easter Island, which stands sentinel at its entrance.
Excellent museum! Superior displays of Pacific and American indigenous cultures. Good descriptions, some in English. A couple of the electronic displays were out of order, but that didn’t detract from the overall experience. No description or story with the trophy heads. As a major attraction to the museum that would have been a plus. Upstairs they have a very nice natural history display. Kids will enjoy all the creatures. It’s a small museum, but packed with excitement.
Paul — Google review
I didn't go inside the museum but this review is for the original Easter Island statue that is majestically exhibited outside the museum. Since childhood I have been intrigued by Easter Island and its world renowned sculptures. It was wonderful to actually see an original statue albeit not on Easter Island but appropriately in front of a Museum showcasing the archeological wonders of Chile.

This is a smallish museum in an old and quaint building. The building itself has wonderful wood stair with its balusters and banisters. The displays of the artifacts on the first floor are marvelous and take you through the archaeological regions of Chile. On the second floor you will find displays of wildlife. If you are nearby, you should visit. F Y I you should Park a couple of blocks away.

We came to see the Moai (Easter Island stone statue) who guards this museum. Loved all the creative artifacts from cultures throughout Chile and South America. There are some interesting stuffed and preserved animals whichsre worth a look. :) The $4.50 entrance fee well worth it!
LS S — Google review
This is a magic place where you can find one of the most known legacies of the mankind, of course, located in Chile, at its nature,, even not in the original site. An authentic Statue from Rapa Nui Island( old Chilean name) Easter Island is the main guard of the Museum. In the left side of the Entrance, it is exposed a second piece of stone, a magnificent model, sculpture 10000 years old. The building itself is a heritage landmark, very suitable for its actual function and destination.
Flavius — Google review
Nice displays but small rooms that get crowded when tour busses arrive. It was a great place to visit before we went to Easter Island.

We enjoyed this museum, especially for the Rapa Nui / Easter Island exhibits and the Mo'ai out front. The archeology and natural history exhibits are well done

Ascensor Concepcion, the oldest funicular in Valparaiso dating back to 1883, is a popular tourist attraction as well as a convenient mode of transport for locals. The rickety yet thrilling ride swiftly takes passengers up the steep hillside to Paseo Gervasoni, offering stunning views of the city and port. Visitors can also opt for a ride on Ascensor Reina Victoria, built in 1902.
For only CLP $300 (USD $0.30), save your legs and ride the Ascensor. Easy ride up to Cerro Concepcion.

On the street, it looks like construction ongoing but there is a passage on the right side to the cable car. Good view of the port area. It was election day and free rides.

Ascensor Concepcion is the oldest funicolare in Valparaíso, operating since 1883. It's a great piece of history and provides great views along its 70 meters long climb up the steep hill.

Fun way to naviguate the two levels of the city. It costs 30 CLP and is a quick way to go up and down without climbing lots of stairs. This elevator is in service since the late 1800s and it fels like it: the ride is a bit shaky but it's quick!

Nestled along the stunning Chilean coastline, just north of Valparaiso, the Concon Dunes are a must-visit destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. These impressive dunes rise dramatically from the shore, offering breathtaking views of both the ocean and the vibrant cityscape. The town of Concon itself is a lively resort area known for its beautiful beaches and bustling nightlife, but it’s these towering sand formations that truly steal the show.
A beautiful place to visit while being in viña del mar. Stay for the sunset, beautiful pictures. Great view of the pacific ocean. Easy access to the Dunes. No charge.
Guillermo R — Google review
Incredible to visit. Great explanation at the seaside display. It's very tragic to see encroaching development. Also erosion due to people trampling plants is apparent. Gently visit while you can...
Liam O — Google review
I've been in and around the dunes quite a few times during my stay and haven't seen anything like it previously. It's size is quite impressive and seems almost randomly placed. I would recommend to wear comfortable clothing (no high heels or tight clothing) especially for your 1st time as you could trip and tumble on the sand that honestly gets quite slippery sometimes. If you visit I'd highly recommend going straight to the highest point(s) and then working your way down as the view from the top is pretty impressive (especially at night for the buildings lights). You get to see the ocean, the coastline, buildings, and more. I'd also choose wisely how much activity you're planning on doing as if you go super down on the dunes (especially the middle part near the ocean) it can be pretty hard to get back up without running. Definitely a great place for a morning or late afternoon walk (especially for a workout).
Xoom T — Google review
The best sunset is in Concón. The sun shines on you all the way to your heart. Great place for picnic with friends or partners. You can get there by car or bus.

A great place to see the Sunset in Viña del Mar. A dune beside the city. Amazing!
José L — Google review
Nice place, but not impressive The Concon dunes are fine to visit if you’re nearby, good ocean view, soft sand, and a breeze. Nothing too special though, just simple natural dunes. It’s not heavily protected or managed, so it feels raw and calm. Worth a short stop, especially for sunset photos.
Khumoyun A — Google review
It's a beautiful view for pictures, to meditate and rest. I went in 2 different occasions and both times was really pretty. If you visit close to the sunset, that view is very pretty even if it's really cold in winter. Also, in summer is really refreshing.

Worth the trip.. its one of the easiest way to get up there to explore the beautiful grafitis and all those charming streets. When u arrived at the top there's a platform/deck to view some beautiful view. If the weather is clear enough you can see the aconcagua mountains from here.

If you are in Valparaiso go up one of its ascensores or elevators/ lifts. We have taken both the Ascensor Artilleria and this one. The cost is 100 pesos each way. At the top of El Peral visit the Palacio Baburizza a good museum- see my review for photos. At the top of Artilleria, the great Naval Museum and a row of souvenir shops along the Paseo 21 de mayo - I also have a review. There are places to eat or buy fast food or candy at the top of both ascensores. Photos below are for both. I set 4 photos from Artilleria, set a sunset photo from our apartment to separate, and 3 from El Peral.

Nestled along the stunning coastline of Vina del Mar, Vergara Pier is a charming pedestrian pier that has captivated visitors since its construction in the late 19th century. After undergoing significant renovations in 1983 and again in 2016, this beloved attraction now features beautiful gardens and a vibrant atmosphere perfect for leisurely strolls. As you wander along the pier, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of Valparaiso Bay and the surrounding coastal landscape.
Lovely views of the sea, beaches and the skyscrapers dotting the skyline. Neat and clean place to roam around and soak in the coastal atmosphere. Ideal place for a swim or just roam around the numerous green parks around. Plenty of seafood restaurants are scattered all around so you will be spoilt for choice. Best time to visit is early mornings or late evenings to enjoy the panoramic views and avoid the crowd. Overall a great place to spend a day!🌞⛅🍹🍷🍺🍸👍👌

Very safe and quiet, in Viña del Mar the sun rise since midday, therefore you should go at that time if you want to find sun, other wise whether you go in the morning you will find it cloudy 🙂
Marjorie V — Google review
This pier was well made. Alot of people were fishing on the pier. It was free.
Billy D — Google review
This place was very average. The only thing good here was the churros. The view was okay although all you can see are buildings to the side and the horizon. The pier itself had a crane which has no function and not maintained. The look out was clean but really dull. There are also creepy guys there that approach women and don't know the concept of personal space (not sure if he frequents there but he forced a bracelet on my friends arm and forced a hug). There are also no swimming signs but fishing allowed.
Andrea A — Google review
Along the coast walk at Vin del Mar, there is a pier that runs into the sea. It is, in fact, an old part of the port where boats were unloaded by a historical crane. The crane is out of use and restored, while thepier is used for relaxing walks and looking out over the sea and by amateur fisherman. It is a nice outing as part of your stroll along the coast in this nice village north of Valparaiso.

Baburizza Palace, a stunning mansion from the early 1900s, is a must-see in Valparaiso. Named after Croatian businessman Pascal Baburizza, this opulent building boasts eclectic art-nouveau architecture with beautiful woodwork, balconies, and small turrets. Once home to prominent figures like Ottorino Zanelli and Pascual Baburizza, the palace now houses the Museum of Fine Arts.
A fascinating place. Palacio Baburizza gives a great glimpse into how a Chilean oligarch lived in the early 20th century, with elegance, taste, and attention to every detail. The mansion is beautifully preserved, with impressive interiors, furniture, and artwork. You can really feel the atmosphere of that era. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Chile’s history and culture.
Khumoyun A — Google review
Worth the cheap entry fee. Not my fave art but it a beautiful space and interior and one of the docents, Matilde? Miranda? is LOVELY. We had a wonderful conversation as I wandered the spacious museum. I went soon after it opened about 10:30am but would recommend going later as the AM fog obliterates any views from the palace and windows. The fog lifts early afternoon. English explanation at the entry but not thought out. Very nice on-site café as well with good empanadas and carrot cake cookies! Friendly staff and I was happy I could charge my phone.
Jennifer S — Google review
Superb art museum located in an early 20th century art nouveau styled mansion. The home is beautiful and the quality of the paintings is astounding. The collection originates mostly from Europe, but has plenty of Chilean works as well. Nice cafe and clean bathroom, too. This is a must see visit in Valparaiso.
Paul — Google review
Amazing art museum and the palacio itself! Beautiful works, well kept. Much better than national art museum in Santiago! Take it slow and wander around to explore all the nooks. Permanent exhibition is large and is only 3000 pesos, and the temporary exhibition in the basement is free.
Maria E — Google review
Free entry on Sunday. The Museum is in a historic mansion and is adjacent to Mirador Paseo Yugoslavo and is easily reached via the Ascensor El Persal. There are street performers and the area is designated a local artisans market area. The art in the museum is focused on native Chilean artists and has many works that reflect the early years of Valparaiso.
Ross M — Google review
Very beautiful art gallery, prices are fair. I think it's a about 4000 Pesos for foreigners and less than 1000 for locals. The oil paintings where astonishing and varied in size. I marveled for over one hour in incredulity. There's also many explanations in Spanish. The gallery features some European artists as well as many Chilean ones. The bathroom could be cleaner and the locks on the doors repaired. I had to hold the door shut while doing my business. Also the tours with a large group of people were a little annoying as you could sometimes not enter a room because it was thus crowded. I therefore suggest minimizing the size of the group. However, definitely worth a visit if you're in Valparaíso.
- - — Google review
Officially, the museum was open at 2.10pm, but the staff obviously didn't feel like working and simply didn't let people in, claiming it wouldn't open until 3pm. Everyone should therefore think twice about going there. But it seems typical for Chile...
Christian L — Google review
Beautiful old mansion overlooking the city that has been turned into a fine art museum. The art is has works from local and European artists, mostly French. Its quite a nice collection and is worth a visit. There are also two temporary exhibits free of charge that you can take a look. When I was there, the exhibits were photos of Chile and of tattoos.

The Decorative Arts Museum Rioja Palace is a stunning example of French-inspired architecture that once served as the residence of businessman Fernando Rioja and his family until 1959. Nestled in Vina del Mar, this grand palace showcases the decorative arts associated with Chilean aristocracy. Although it faced significant damage during the earthquake of 1985, it was meticulously restored, preserving its Neoclassic French style while enhancing its gardens with exotic plants.
It's not really a 'museum of decorative arts' as much as an example of how a very wealthy family lived at the beginning of the 20th century. The decor and artworks are excellent. Each room is filled with period correct furniture, the architecture is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit while you're in the area

Caleta Portales is a beautiful sandy beach with stunning sunset views and plenty of restaurants and cafes to enjoy. In addition, there is a fish market nearby that attracts sea lions for food scraps.
Honestly, we pulled up to this spot on our tour, and I thought, "Oh, a fish market. Okay." We were shown a couple of seals way off in the distance, and, well, let's just say I wasn't exactly blown away. I was thinking, "Is that it?" Then, out of absolute nowhere, it happened. It was like a scene from a nature documentary, but right in front of us! Suddenly, a whole army of seals started marching up the beach. I mean, marching. They were coming from everywhere, just surging onto the sand, all headed towards the discarded fish from the market. My jaw literally dropped. It was incredible! We were so close, we could hear them snorting and jostling each other. The sheer number of them, and how quickly they appeared, was just mind-blowing. It went from "meh" to "HOLY COW!" in a matter of seconds. It was one of those travel moments you never forget. You go somewhere thinking it's just a quick stop, and then you witness something truly amazing. I was completely and utterly surprised, and I'm so glad we got to see it. It was a truly unforgettable experience.

The beach at Playa Caleta Portales was disappointing. It was very crowded, making it hard to relax or find a peaceful spot. The cleanliness is a big issue—trash was scattered everywhere, and there didn’t seem to be enough bins. The water didn’t look very clean either, which was off-putting. There were also limited facilities, and the ones available weren’t well-maintained. Overall, it felt neglected and not worth the visit. Definitely needs better care and attention.

Nice beach to see the sunset. Easy to get there by public transport and cars. There are many sea food restaurants in front of the beach. Also you may find some vendors on the beach selling Chilean sweets, drinks, ice cream, etc. Always keep an eye on your belongings.

SEA LIONS!!! Go early afternoon when the fisherman are cleaning their catches and they will go nuts. The $1.50 ceviche by the beach is to die for. Tons of gulls and also a very pretty beach. The piers are nice. Maybe 100 commercial fishing boats used from here, and we found it very interesting to watch the fisherman launch and retrieve them using the crane at the end of the pier. The restaurants are good, parking is easy, and it's like 5 minutes from valparaiiso. We went twice.

Valparaíso City was disappointing during my visit. The streets felt unsafe, especially at night, with little police presence. Cleanliness is a major issue—there's trash in many areas, and some parts smell bad. The city’s infrastructure looks run-down with poor sidewalks and broken roads, making it hard to walk around comfortably. While the colorful buildings and murals are beautiful, they’re overshadowed by the city’s neglect. It has potential, but it needs a lot of improvement to feel welcoming.

The area boasts a variety of attractions including Caleta Abarca and Flower Clock. There are also plenty of dining options available nearby.
Long stretches of beach sand and sea greet you once you reach here.🌞⛅🌲🌳🌂 I recommend you come here early morning or late evenings to avoid the crowd. Amazing panoramic views and busy atmosphere will keep you hooked. Lots of multi cuisine restaurants around to satisfy your hunger pangs. Clean and green public parks with modern landscaping to relax and unwind. Be careful of your stuff while you swim. All in all a fun place to be with friends! Had a great time exploring this place and surrounding areas.🍻👌✌

Lots to do here. Even if you're only there for a short time.

Lovely beach just difficult to find parking

Beautiful beach but cold water and some rough waves. Still fun to be around locals and see the little shops or activities or just to sit in the sand and watch the ocean!

It is very nice place to visit and enjoy , awesome view of natur , just enjoyed a lot there such a great time was that , love this place😍😍😍

The beach is alright, it can get very very crowded on the weekends, but on weekdays you’ll be fine. The promenade is filled with people trying to sell necklaces, beach gear and other stuff. You can rent a sun umbrella and sun loungers. There is even a small cafe that sells food and drinks plus people walking on the beach with coolers that sell drinks and small snacks. Sadly, swimming isn’t allowed at this beach (at least at the time I visited) and be aware of the waves they can become very rough.

The beach was pretty clean, it's really close to the local mall and they have some restaurants close by.

Las Salinas Beach is a stunning stretch of white sand that beckons beach lovers to its shores. This fashionable destination features a mile-long coastline adorned with inviting bars, sun loungers, and convenient amenities like showers and pedalos for hire. Nestled near the Craft Fair and Los Marineros spa, it offers gentle waves perfect for swimming and cooling off on warm days. With public toilets and ample parking available, visitors can enjoy a hassle-free experience while indulging in delicious meals at nearby restaurants.
Had amazing time! The beach was clean, with soft, nice sand that was perfect for lounging and playing. You can pay for a chair and umbrella for several hours under 10 USD per spot. Swim at your own risk signs were posted everywhere. There were plenty of amenities, including well-maintained restrooms, showers, and convenient changing facilities. Family oriented and lots of dogs.

The wine and drinks are OK, and the venue is OK - but it's the awesome live music and the atmosphere it generates that makes this place worth going to.

(Translated by Google) A while ago we played with Son Primate in this bar, it's cool, there are always bands and the place is small. The prices are somewhere between what they charge everywhere and what the petit-bourgeois pockets of the visitors who come to the neighborhood give. I recommend it because they accommodate local bands like ours.

(Translated by Google) Terrible place. They are late in bringing a drink. They add excess lemon to all the drinks (and I didn't order lemonade, but rather a coconut drink and a mango drink). Also on the food menu there is a pizza and garlic sticks, nothing more. There are better bars next to this one.
