Historical landmark
Plaza Sotomayor is a bustling square in Valparaiso, flanked by the Chilean navy headquarters and a central memorial honoring naval heroes. The surrounding area includes the commercial quarter with its port works, warehouses, banks, and shopping center. Adjacent to the bay are administrative buildings grouped around the plaza. The lower part of the city also features the cathedral, parks, boulevards, theaters, cafes, and colonial buildings like the church of La Matriz.
Plaza Sotomayor is a nice place to walk around, see the monument, and enjoy the old buildings nearby. Everything is close, the port, the pier, and some good cafés where you can relax and have a coffee. It can get a bit crowded, so keep an eye on your things. Overall, a nice and interesting spot to visit in the city.
Khumoyun A — Google review
Busy square surrounded by some interesting, historic buildings. Popular place to meet for guided walks. Beware, keep safe, being local advice.

Plaza Santa Maya is a must-visit walk through spot in Valparaíso! It’s beautifully nestled among some important historical buildings and sits right at the base of a couple of the city’s iconic cable cars. From here, you can walk along the waterfront, hop on a boat, or just take in the view. When I visited on a Saturday, there was a charming little craft fair happening, adding even more color and life to the plaza. It’s picturesque, full of character, and a perfect place to snap some great photos. Definitely a gemstone of Valparaíso. Follow me on TikTok for more travel finds! Sage0.x

The city center.. beautiful old colonial building around the plaza. Use the funicular ride to go up the hill. Nice area to explore. Mall are around the plaza, with foodcourt and toilet. Its quite crowded on the afternoon and a nice place to hang around.
Reyner G — Google review
Plaza Sotomayor is the main square of Valparaíso and a great starting point to explore the city. It’s home to the impressive blue Naval Headquarters building and the Monument to the Heroes of Iquique, which honors Chilean sailors. Surrounded by historic architecture and close to the port, the plaza combines history, culture, and daily local life. A must-see landmark before taking the funiculars up to the colorful hills.
Vakhtang J — Google review
Was ok but no where to park and the plaza is not like the typical plazas we’ve visited where you can grab a bench and relax. It was in the middle of two busy, busy streets.
Kevin F — Google review
When the artisanal market "Victoria Porteña" is there you can see some of the best local art made by porteños themselves such as fine stone jewellery, silk-screen printing, wood-cut printing, wooden puzzles, knitted clothing among others. You can also get great food in the local restaurants around the plaza and visit Muelle Prat for a boat ride. Recently, works have been announced for this place by the city so it could be closed in the near future
Javiera M — Google review
This is the center of Valparaiso, near the metro terminal. Many restaurants, local buses, taxi. There is a meeting point nearby for the free tour to visit Valparaiso sightseeing.

Ascensor Reina Victoria, also known as Queen Victoria Funicular, is an iconic hillside transportation system in Valparaiso. Dating back to 1902, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Connecting Elias Street to Paseo Dimalow, this funicular provides a quick and affordable way to ascend the steep hillside. At the top, visitors can find various restaurants and cafes where they can relax and enjoy the stunning scenery.
Wonderful place! The People working at the lift were super lovely! I can’t believe this structure still works by human force. The spot itself is amazing. There are lots of restaurants around with the best views of Valparaiso. 🫶
Francisca C — Google review
I took the lift which was 100 chilean pesos. I didn’t have cash but luckily a local had a gave me the change. It was quite fun taking it but remember to have some cash for it. The views on the top are quite nice.
Anthony C — Google review
Steep funicular, up to the hill. The payment at the bottom.(First pay when going up and pay later when coming down) prepare small money, they may not have change for big money.

Very cool way to get to the top fast, I enjoyed the views too

The Reina Victoria funicular in Chile is an incredible traditional transportation choice. With a history spanning over a century, this funicular showcases the area's charm and offers a unique view of the city. Its route is noteworthy, and the experience of ascending through lush landscapes is truly enjoyable. If you're looking for a unique and authentic experience, the Reina Victoria funicular is definitely worth a visit.
KATERINA L — Google review
Built in 1902 and still work.
Roger G — Google review
Ascensor Reina Victoria is a super fun little funicular railway in the heart of Valparaíso, Chile! It’s definitely worth visiting if you’re in this city as it’s a fun experience and provides great views. It is extremely old (built in 1902) but it still runs great. The area has a playground for children, seats, and streetlights, and it’s quite inexpensive to ride the funicular. It’s also in a great walking area for you to explore all the shops, restaurants, and street art! Definitely put this on your list of saved places!
Michael — Google review
An interesting place to visit as tourist because of the view at dusk. Has criative and interesting graffiti around the top of Reina Victoria. Also has a slide (funny). The ascensor takes you to a hill full of colourful bars and cheering retaurants, beautiful graffiti and souvenir stores. Totally recommend going and eating in one of these restaurants.

Scenic spot
Cerro Bellavista de Valparaíso is a must-visit for its stunning viewpoints and iconic attractions. The famous Museo a Cielo Abierto (Open Sky Museum) and photogenic murals make it a top spot for sightseeing. Additionally, the strategic location of La Sebastiana on Cerro Bellavista offers breathtaking views from its gardens.
Awesome place, really exciting to walk in the area.
Vianney V — Google review
Alt though the street art was pretty, the area was very dodgy. Not a lot of people an no police or security…We got robbed and threatened with a knife..
Johan H — Google review
Valparaíso City was disappointing during my visit. The streets felt unsafe, especially at night, with little police presence. Cleanliness is a major issue—there's trash in many areas, and some parts smell bad. The city’s infrastructure looks run-down with poor sidewalks and broken roads, making it hard to walk around comfortably. While the colorful buildings and murals are beautiful, they’re overshadowed by the city’s neglect. It has potential, but it needs a lot of improvement to feel welcoming.

La Sebastiana Museo de Pablo Neruda is a hilltop house museum in Valparaiso, Chile, showcasing the personal effects of the renowned poet. Visitors can explore all three levels of Neruda's former residence and admire the city views and harbor below. The museum offers an inside look at his historic 1950s style and sources of inspiration. It is a must-visit for those interested in Latin American literature and provides a unique insight into the life of Pablo Neruda.
Awesome visit. The museum/house is kept in its original state so using the guide takes you a bit back in time and feel the energy that Pablo Neruda and his friends brought to the home.
Vlad V — Google review
The famous Chilenian poet's house. The decoration is quite playful and luxurious. From all the rooms, the view was great. You need to put your backpack in the locker, and it has to be 100-peso coin, that returns when collect your item back. 9500 pesos and the audio guide is included. I would say, 15min is just good enough? Not much to see. The view outside the house(free) is the best photo you would get!
Zara K — Google review
Amazing five level home overlooking the port city of Valparaiso. It houses an eclectic collection of personal items and furniture from the mind of a Nobel prize winning author. The audio guide well constructed and provides great insight into the man and his world. The views from his office and bedroom are astonishing. It is expensive at $9.000 per ticket, but that helps with maintenance costs and crowd control. We thought it was worth it. Oh, the young men at the entrance to the home were very helpful. They spoke multiple languages.
Paul — Google review
What a fantastic house. You don't even need to be a fan of Pablo Neruda to enjoy a wander around the 5 floors of this beautiful house with some of the best views across Valparaiso and out to sea. I highly recommend a visit.
Tony F — Google review
Interesting insight into one of Chile’s most famous poets. They have audio guides with all the information you need for each of the spaces. The staff are also very helpful and happy.
Hugh — Google review
Worth going for the creative details inside: eclectic furniture, artefacts and artwork. The views of course are amazing and the audio guide good for the info. There is still a great vibe to the place.
Richard E — Google review
The place was fantastic to visit. You get an audio guide (free) and you get to visit the five floors of Pablo Neruda's house. Great insights on the poet's life. Don't miss it if you are in Valpo.
Al_ _ — Google review
I recently visited the Pablo Neruda Museum and had a good time. The museum has a lot of interesting information about Neruda's life and work. The exhibits are well-organized, with personal items, photos, and manuscripts that tell his story. One of the best parts was the amazing view from the museum. The scenic location offers beautiful sights that add to the overall experience. It's a peaceful place to enjoy and reflect on Neruda's poetry. However, the ticket price felt a bit too high for what was offered. While the museum is worth visiting, the cost might be too much for some people. Despite this, I recommend it to anyone interested in literature or looking for a lovely spot to visit. Overall, it was an enjoyable and memorable visit.

When exploring the vibrant city of Valparaiso, a ride on Ascensor El Peral is an experience you simply cannot miss. This historic funicular, which dates back to 1902 and has been designated as a national monument, offers a thrilling ascent of 52 meters (172 feet) from the bustling Plaza Sotomayor to the stunning Paseo Yugoslavo on Cerro Alegre.
Worth the trip.. its one of the easiest way to get up there to explore the beautiful grafitis and all those charming streets. When u arrived at the top there's a platform/deck to view some beautiful view. If the weather is clear enough you can see the aconcagua mountains from here.
Reyner G — Google review
The best way to get up and down the steep slopes of Valparaiso is using one of the many funiculars. And they are super cheap to use too.
Tony F — Google review
A cable car that's still working in Valparaíso. 100 pesos per person. Prepare your coins!
Zara K — Google review
Here you can experience the history of Valparaiso. A ride costs 100 pesos and it's worth it. Once at the top you have a beautiful view and can walk through the city.
Sebastian S — Google review
If you are in Valparaiso go up one of its ascensores or elevators/ lifts. We have taken both the Ascensor Artilleria and this one. The cost is 100 pesos each way. At the top of El Peral visit the Palacio Baburizza a good museum- see my review for photos. At the top of Artilleria, the great Naval Museum and a row of souvenir shops along the Paseo 21 de mayo - I also have a review. There are places to eat or buy fast food or candy at the top of both ascensores. Photos below are for both. I set 4 photos from Artilleria, set a sunset photo from our apartment to separate, and 3 from El Peral.

A must visit attraction in Santiago. There may be a queue for the inclinator may be longer on weekends and public holidays so it is worthwhile booking online. Once you are at the top the views are spectacular. It is well worth also buying a ticket for the gondola lift down the other side and return.

Ascensor Concepcion, the oldest funicular in Valparaiso dating back to 1883, is a popular tourist attraction as well as a convenient mode of transport for locals. The rickety yet thrilling ride swiftly takes passengers up the steep hillside to Paseo Gervasoni, offering stunning views of the city and port. Visitors can also opt for a ride on Ascensor Reina Victoria, built in 1902.
For only CLP $300 (USD $0.30), save your legs and ride the Ascensor. Easy ride up to Cerro Concepcion.
Ross M — Google review
On the street, it looks like construction ongoing but there is a passage on the right side to the cable car. Good view of the port area. It was election day and free rides.
Keng L — Google review
Ascensor Concepcion is the oldest funicolare in Valparaíso, operating since 1883. It's a great piece of history and provides great views along its 70 meters long climb up the steep hill.
John S — Google review
I think depending on the day you have to wait a little to get up on the elevator. The trip is gentle, quick and has beautiful views.
Deysi R — Google review
It might be good… if you have Chilean pesos! No tap! Not a friendly way to welcome tourists, who want to spend time and money here!!!

Dangerous place for tourists! We walked in to see the funicular and my husband was almost mugged…in broad daylight. Not safe.
Carolyn C — Google review
Fun way to naviguate the two levels of the city. It costs 30 CLP and is a quick way to go up and down without climbing lots of stairs. This elevator is in service since the late 1800s and it fels like it: the ride is a bit shaky but it's quick!

Visitors can explore a diverse array of ship artifacts, models, illustrations, and old cannons lining the entrance. The exhibition rooms are filled with intriguing items such as oil paintings, maps, models, and statues.

Linus S — Google review
Interesting maritime museum that provided me with more information about Chile. The price is 4,000 pesos for foreigners. There is much information about the formation of Chile as an independent country, the military, and the famous wars with Peru, the Spanish Empire, and Bolivia, as well as the golden age of the city of Valparaíso. It’s a must-see while you’re in Valparaiso.
Babak A — Google review
Very interesting historical museum. We met the director on the stairs who engaged in a delightful conversation with us. Limited English captions but hey we are in Chile.
Beth M — Google review
This is a very interesting museum of the history of the Chilean navy and maritime activities dating back to the 1600s. Beautiful grounds and is still an active naval facility. Easiest to Uber here but we walked. The funicular nearby does not run any longer.
Shawn H — Google review
Kind staff & interesting insights into Chilean naval history. We took about 2 hours to see everything and might have taken even longer had time allowed.

I really love this place and have visited three times in three years - I particularly liked this years commemoration of the evacuation of Dunkirk in the Second World War .... this was to show the participation of one of the “little ships” which too part in the evacuation and a few years afterwards became the bote salvavidas in Valparaíso- this museum is first class and graphically shows the development of naval warfare in Chile and has some amazing artefacts and exhibits including some from the Pacific war and battle of Iquique which saw the sacrifice of Capitan de Fregata Arturo Prat and his crew aboard CNS Esmeralda - I thoroughly recommend a visit

The colorful array of street art and inspiring murals breathes life into the hills of Valparaiso.
super nice little area, definitely keep walking even if you think it might be over, there’s always more cool murals to see
Joceline K — Google review
Super cool street art in a residential part of Valparaiso. We loved the vibrant works which genuinely transforms the city’s streets into canvas. Highly recommended for art enthusiasts as some of these could be exhibited anywhere in the world. We visited late afternoon for great photos.
Perfect E — Google review
There are still some nice murals to see but the whole place feels kinda abandoned by artists and visitors now. A big let down was that the Funicular was running and didn't look like it was going to be running anytime soon. From the plaza Victoria you have to walk up stairs. Hopefully in the near future there can be more investments in the area to make it a nice place again.
Blair P — Google review

the region is pretty nice and you get good views going up/down the hills but the museum itself is very lame and there’s nothing to see honestly. wouldn’t recommend/come back

Similar to Graffiti museum in Toronto. Houses in a hill painted with graffiti of different styles (from political to crazy graffiti). Didn't know it was the hole neighborhood, so we just walked 2 or 3 streets. Also has a really beautiful view of the sea.

Great collection of street art along the stairs and on the street in the hills of Valparaiso. It was pretty hot and we didn't see a lot of tourists around, so we couldn't always tell if we were in the right place, but the art itself was excellent. Wulff Castle, also known as Castillo Wulff, is a historic mansion built in the early 20th century by German industrialist Gustavo Adolfo Wulff. Perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this castle offers stunning ocean views and serves as a cultural center with exhibits showcasing its rich history. Although it has been closed to visitors for some time, it remains an iconic landmark in Vina del Mar.

Very nice place to see if you are walking throughout the Viña Del Mar seafront, after you pass caleta abarca beach and Hotel Sheraton, about 10 min more walking it’s this nice Castle which has an small museum and wonderful views!! Very recommend place to visit and near bus stop!

This castle was built in 1906 by a German coal trader as well as maritime transporter, by the name of Gustavo Adolfo Wullf. In 1995 it was declared a "National Historic Monument" and as a result, locals and tourists have been enjoying this signature in time. The architecture, and the many amazing viewing sites make this place worth the time and take in.

Baburizza Palace, a stunning mansion from the early 1900s, is a must-see in Valparaiso. Named after Croatian businessman Pascal Baburizza, this opulent building boasts eclectic art-nouveau architecture with beautiful woodwork, balconies, and small turrets. Once home to prominent figures like Ottorino Zanelli and Pascual Baburizza, the palace now houses the Museum of Fine Arts.
A fascinating place. Palacio Baburizza gives a great glimpse into how a Chilean oligarch lived in the early 20th century, with elegance, taste, and attention to every detail. The mansion is beautifully preserved, with impressive interiors, furniture, and artwork. You can really feel the atmosphere of that era. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Chile’s history and culture.

Worth the cheap entry fee. Not my fave art but it a beautiful space and interior and one of the docents, Matilde? Miranda? is LOVELY. We had a wonderful conversation as I wandered the spacious museum. I went soon after it opened about 10:30am but would recommend going later as the AM fog obliterates any views from the palace and windows. The fog lifts early afternoon. English explanation at the entry but not thought out. Very nice on-site café as well with good empanadas and carrot cake cookies! Friendly staff and I was happy I could charge my phone.

Superb art museum located in an early 20th century art nouveau styled mansion. The home is beautiful and the quality of the paintings is astounding. The collection originates mostly from Europe, but has plenty of Chilean works as well. Nice cafe and clean bathroom, too. This is a must see visit in Valparaiso.

Amazing art museum and the palacio itself! Beautiful works, well kept. Much better than national art museum in Santiago! Take it slow and wander around to explore all the nooks. Permanent exhibition is large and is only 3000 pesos, and the temporary exhibition in the basement is free.

Free entry on Sunday. The Museum is in a historic mansion and is adjacent to Mirador Paseo Yugoslavo and is easily reached via the Ascensor El Persal. There are street performers and the area is designated a local artisans market area. The art in the museum is focused on native Chilean artists and has many works that reflect the early years of Valparaiso.

Very beautiful art gallery, prices are fair. I think it's a about 4000 Pesos for foreigners and less than 1000 for locals. The oil paintings where astonishing and varied in size. I marveled for over one hour in incredulity. There's also many explanations in Spanish. The gallery features some European artists as well as many Chilean ones. The bathroom could be cleaner and the locks on the doors repaired. I had to hold the door shut while doing my business. Also the tours with a large group of people were a little annoying as you could sometimes not enter a room because it was thus crowded. I therefore suggest minimizing the size of the group. However, definitely worth a visit if you're in Valparaíso.

Officially, the museum was open at 2.10pm, but the staff obviously didn't feel like working and simply didn't let people in, claiming it wouldn't open until 3pm. Everyone should therefore think twice about going there. But it seems typical for Chile...

Beautiful old mansion overlooking the city that has been turned into a fine art museum. The art is has works from local and European artists, mostly French. Its quite a nice collection and is worth a visit. There are also two temporary exhibits free of charge that you can take a look. When I was there, the exhibits were photos of Chile and of tattoos.

Caleta Portales is a beautiful sandy beach with stunning sunset views and plenty of restaurants and cafes to enjoy. In addition, there is a fish market nearby that attracts sea lions for food scraps.
Honestly, we pulled up to this spot on our tour, and I thought, "Oh, a fish market. Okay." We were shown a couple of seals way off in the distance, and, well, let's just say I wasn't exactly blown away. I was thinking, "Is that it?" Then, out of absolute nowhere, it happened. It was like a scene from a nature documentary, but right in front of us! Suddenly, a whole army of seals started marching up the beach. I mean, marching. They were coming from everywhere, just surging onto the sand, all headed towards the discarded fish from the market. My jaw literally dropped. It was incredible! We were so close, we could hear them snorting and jostling each other. The sheer number of them, and how quickly they appeared, was just mind-blowing. It went from "meh" to "HOLY COW!" in a matter of seconds. It was one of those travel moments you never forget. You go somewhere thinking it's just a quick stop, and then you witness something truly amazing. I was completely and utterly surprised, and I'm so glad we got to see it. It was a truly unforgettable experience.

Super fun! Lots of pelicans and super chonky sea lions who get fed fish all day! Fish shops are fun to visit

The beach at Playa Caleta Portales was disappointing. It was very crowded, making it hard to relax or find a peaceful spot. The cleanliness is a big issue—trash was scattered everywhere, and there didn’t seem to be enough bins. The water didn’t look very clean either, which was off-putting. There were also limited facilities, and the ones available weren’t well-maintained. Overall, it felt neglected and not worth the visit. Definitely needs better care and attention.
Alex B — Google review
Very dirty and the boardwalk isn’t safe at all. Missing planks. Be careful where you walk. We did get to see sea lions though, so obviously still worth it

in total i saw three sea lions, not a lot the market and the area around smells really really strong and looks dirty the beach view was pretty nice if u really have nothing to do in valparaiso, come by, otherwise don’t waste your time to come here extra
Inktrap — Google review
Nice beach to see the sunset. Easy to get there by public transport and cars. There are many sea food restaurants in front of the beach. Also you may find some vendors on the beach selling Chilean sweets, drinks, ice cream, etc. Always keep an eye on your belongings.
Moises V — Google review
You can't swim but is beautiful just to be in the beach
Isidora J — Google review
SEA LIONS!!! Go early afternoon when the fisherman are cleaning their catches and they will go nuts. The $1.50 ceviche by the beach is to die for. Tons of gulls and also a very pretty beach. The piers are nice. Maybe 100 commercial fishing boats used from here, and we found it very interesting to watch the fisherman launch and retrieve them using the crane at the end of the pier. The restaurants are good, parking is easy, and it's like 5 minutes from valparaiiso. We went twice.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Valparaíso, the Museo de Historia Natural de Valparaíso is a captivating destination that showcases Chile's incredible natural heritage. This museum offers an engaging experience for visitors of all ages, featuring interactive exhibits that delve into the region's rich biodiversity and geological history. From fascinating displays on marine life to intriguing sections dedicated to birds, mammals, and insects, there's something for everyone to discover.
Great museum to learn more about the Chilean natural history and current situation. The permanent collection of taxidermy is matched with new modern infographs that look really good and give a lot of information. Only improvement that can be made is adding English translation is some way. Note that nowadays the museum closes early, at 5 o’clock due to the current situation in Chile.

The exhibitions are well curated, include numerous interactive expositions and impressive specimens of tue flora, fauna and marine life of Chile.

Great views out over the port and surrounding area. Unfortunately it has become quite rundown. It's probably best to go on a public holiday because all the little stalls along the walkway were closed. There is some nice artwork on the way to the Paseo. Nestled in the vibrant city of Viña del Mar, the Museo de Arqueología e Historia Francisco Fonck is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts and culture lovers alike. This charming museum features an impressive collection of artifacts that highlight local heritage, including a striking 500-year-old Moai statue from Easter Island, which stands sentinel at its entrance.
Excellent museum! Superior displays of Pacific and American indigenous cultures. Good descriptions, some in English. A couple of the electronic displays were out of order, but that didn’t detract from the overall experience. No description or story with the trophy heads. As a major attraction to the museum that would have been a plus. Upstairs they have a very nice natural history display. Kids will enjoy all the creatures. It’s a small museum, but packed with excitement.
Paul — Google review
I didn't go inside the museum but this review is for the original Easter Island statue that is majestically exhibited outside the museum. Since childhood I have been intrigued by Easter Island and its world renowned sculptures. It was wonderful to actually see an original statue albeit not on Easter Island but appropriately in front of a Museum showcasing the archeological wonders of Chile.

This is a smallish museum in an old and quaint building. The building itself has wonderful wood stair with its balusters and banisters. The displays of the artifacts on the first floor are marvelous and take you through the archaeological regions of Chile. On the second floor you will find displays of wildlife. If you are nearby, you should visit. F Y I you should Park a couple of blocks away.

We came to see the Moai (Easter Island stone statue) who guards this museum. Loved all the creative artifacts from cultures throughout Chile and South America. There are some interesting stuffed and preserved animals whichsre worth a look. :) The $4.50 entrance fee well worth it!

This is a magic place where you can find one of the most known legacies of the mankind, of course, located in Chile, at its nature,, even not in the original site. An authentic Statue from Rapa Nui Island( old Chilean name) Easter Island is the main guard of the Museum. In the left side of the Entrance, it is exposed a second piece of stone, a magnificent model, sculpture 10000 years old. The building itself is a heritage landmark, very suitable for its actual function and destination.

In the heart of Sotomayor Square in Valparaiso, Chile stands the Monumento a Los Heroes de Iquique, a tribute to fallen naval heroes from the battle of Iquique during the war in the Pacific. The monument is well-maintained and offers guided walking tours daily at noon for visitors to better understand its significance. It commemorates the bravery of Chilean commander Pratt and his naval operations against a Peruvian warship.
Nice monument commemorating a battle with Peru during the War of the Pacific. 77 unfortunate Chilean soldiers were killed in a fight with a numerically vastly superior Peruvian unit. Tragic. No tickets, no wait, it’s a public monument.

2020.02.22 Monument to the heroes of Iquique, Valparaiso, Chile. During the war in the Pacific, beginning May 21, 1886, this monument paid a tribute to the heroes of the naval operations of Iquique and Punta Gruesa. This Iquique hero monument is located in Valparaiso. The Iquique naval battle is a naval battle between a Chilean wooden ship and a Peruvian armored warship. Chilean commander Pratt (the statue on the monument) is about to sink on the warship. On the occasion, after jumping on the enemy ship to do the desperate struggle, the country was formidable, so cast a monument in memory.

Wonderful! Let us transport back to the pre-first world war of 1910, with British imperial power, influence and arrogance at its apex........ “Lord Buckingham: I say Carothers, these chilly people aren’t so bad. Let’s make them a gift. A cricket ground perhaps? Carothers: Sir, we didn’t exactly conquer the Chileans, so they don’t play cricket. May I suggest something useful, such as a school or a hospital? Lord Buckingham: Good lord, what are you thinking about Carothers? What they really need is a damned good statue of Queen Victoria. Carothers: Sorry sir, she died a few years ago. Lord Buckingham: Very well, build a Marble Arch, with a lion, that will make the natives happy.” Chile, we love you,🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧

Visitors can take boat tours from the pier to see the city's colorful hillside constructions and historic buildings.
Muelle Prat is a very busy waterfront which has souvenirs, fishing, private and group tours of the bay on boat, and the aquarium. Several souvenir shops with a variety of items for you to take to family and friends. "El bote Salvavidas" great restaurant with a great variety of Chilean and International dishes at water's edge with a truly amazing view of the port. On same aerea you can also find the newest addition to this picturesque site "Valparaiso Aquarium" although small still gives a good idea of the fish and shellfish of Valparaiso and Chilean ocean habitat.

Museum
Museo Palacio Vergara is a must-visit in Vina del Mar, Chile. The palace, built in 1910, showcases French neoclassical style and is surrounded by the park at Quinta Vergara. Although the estate is currently closed due to earthquake damage, visitors can still admire its impressive architecture from the outside. The museum houses a collection of paintings and sculptures that evoke deep emotions and tell compelling stories.
Its a beautiful house with beautiful artworks. Free admission, but you will need registration. A beautiful garden surrounding the museum. Its also a nice place to stroll around if you have a free time. The museum itself isnt big, the 2nd floor display something more modern, 1st floor is for something more classic. Enjoyed my visit here. Beautiful.

It was an interesting experience looking at the painting and the sculptures. Lot of work emotions hidden in the strokes of the painting speaking a million words and sharing a deep story. Some pictures invoked a memory from the past and some pictures just left me without words and with awe. The garden around it is so calm and fresh. There is also an expo in which there are so many interesting products being sold.

~Backpacking on a budget through South America~ This is a great museum. It's free and it hosted multiple exhibitions which we really liked. Modern art was mixed with classical art, but in a really nice way. I really recommend this museum to everyone.

(Translated by Google) A wonderful experience. The Vergara Palace Museum is a place steeped in history and art at its finest. I happened to visit just when there was a Roberto Matta exhibition, and it was breathtaking. The atmosphere is peaceful, ideal for wandering around leisurely and enjoying every detail. Playa Las Torpederas is a popular city beach in Chile, perfect for swimming and water sports. It offers snack bars and a lookout platform with breathtaking views of the coast. The beach is ideal for family outings or peaceful walks. Visitors can also explore the Los Angeles Lighthouse, which was the first lighthouse built in Chile. Located at Punta Angeles, this pristine public beach provides an excellent venue for relaxation and outdoor activities.
So pretty! Very quick and cheap to bus over from Valparaiso for some evening sunset and coastal views. There was a concert the night we went and the vibes at the beach were great.

A very authentic place in a historic building. At first it looked like a small Starbucks but in fact there is a first floor and a second floor. The second floor is beautiful with a classic old style design that makes the atmosphere unique. Everything is arranged to preserve the historic charm of the building. The staff is friendly and attentive. The highlight was the Matcha Frappuccino which was made perfectly and is one of the best I have had recently. Solid five stars.

IT is a good place to spend time with your family. IT is a mall place, so I recomend to go there from 11 a.m. Please consider there is only one restaurant in it. So, you can eat early or to go to other place. Use Uber here is very useful and sheap

Great little beach, with a place to jump into the sea.
Justin D — Google review
This is a very quiet place, I like it since its waves are really tiny and is good for sea swimming. If you come here, remember to bring your food and everything you need to spend a day on the beach because shops are far from here. There are people selling local souvenirs and one restaurant, there are usually people selling food and other things bur in a beach price.

Located in the financial district of Valparaiso, Reloj Turri, also known as Edificio Agustin Edwards, is a famous landmark at the intersection of Prat and Cochrane streets. The building was constructed between 1923 and 1924 and features a clock tower at its top. This area is protected by Chilean laws as cultural heritage, offering visitors a glimpse into the past.
Iconic place, in the heart of the financial downtown of Valparaiso, this whole zone is protected by chilean laws as culture heritage, so that people can enjoy a fast visual-time trip to past. If you're a tourist from abroad, please know that all those buildings there are very very old and important to World's Heritage. A must run, from "Playa Ancha" street to Victoria Square.

(Translated by Google) A while ago we played with Son Primate in this bar, it's cool, there are always bands and the place is small. The prices are somewhere between what they charge everywhere and what the petit-bourgeois pockets of the visitors who come to the neighborhood give. I recommend it because they accommodate local bands like ours. (Original) Hace un tiempo tocamos junto a Son Primate en este bar, es re piola, siempre hay bandas y el lugar es pequeño. Also on the food menu there is a pizza and garlic sticks, nothing more. There are better bars next to this one. (Original) Pésimo lugar. Se demoran ene en traer un trago. Cerro Artillería de Valparaíso, named after the navy artillery barracks on its summit, offers a different ambiance compared to other tourist spots in the area. The picturesque ascensor that once connected Plaza Aduana with Paseo 21 de Mayo is currently under construction. This hill is less geared towards affluent tourists and more focused on providing amenities for locals, creating a comfortable atmosphere for browsing and enjoying the views.

Los Cerros (the hills) of Valparaiso are a perfect demonstration of this with houses of all colors, covered with frescoes of paintings or graffiti. This bustling hillside neighborhood is an open-air street art museum, known for its colorful street art, varied architecture of luxury homes and favela-style neighborhoods. Its winding streets bring us lots of surprises at every turn. The Cerro Artillería de Valparaíso is an example. Next to the maritime museum there is also a beautiful terrace with a view of the industrial port of Valporaiso and an alley full of street vendors.
