Probably one of the most unique Starbucks I’ve visited. It’s located inside a beautifully preserved Western-style villa in the Kitano area of Kobe – full of character and charm. Each room has its own vibe, with cozy corners and a nostalgic feel. When I visited, most of the guests were Korean tourists – seems like a popular stop for them. But the place was still quiet and relaxing. If you’re a Starbucks fan, or just want to enjoy coffee in a lovely, historical setting, this spot is definitely worth a visit when you’re in Kobe.

This Starbucks is housed in a beautifully preserved Western-style building, with both the interior and exterior exuding charm. It feels more like relaxing in an elegant home than in a café chain. We visited on a weekday morning and could choose our seating freely, but by the time we finished our breakfast and left, seats were already limited as it is very popular with tourists. The staff are friendly. A nice spot to enjoy a drink while soaking in the nostalgic atmosphere of the Kitano area.

Absolutely fabulous Starbucks in the Kansai region. Even if you are not a Starbucks fan, just how they had converted and maintained this historical building is just amazing! I bought a gift card here that had the shop drawn on it, and used the value to buy a couple of cups of coffee to drink. I really loved the window seats upstairs but unfortunately they were taken already so maybe next time!

The best Starbucks I have ever been. Their staff is simply AMAZING - so polite, nice, friendly. I had gingerbread latte and apple pie. The quality of deserts and drinks were 10/10. I would definitely recommend visiting it.

Might be the cutest Starbucks I've ever visited! The menu is nothing different from the usual Starbucks menu, but they maintained the architectural style of Kitano Ijinkan and made it so cute! The Inside of the shop is also very cute, especially the rooms on the second floor.

2025 August 4★ Another Starbucks, but what's unique here is it's antique European interiors. Stairs are long to the second floor. Study, dining, guest room, sun parlor and living room. Only one washroom. Consistent coffee offerings. No issues. Great service.

Beautiful building but the summer time is way too hot to enjoy the atmosphere. Seasonal beverage is always good. Kind remind to keep ur receipts because you will need it for washroom.

I had the opportunity to have breakfasts at this wonderful restaurant, which is part of the Kobe Portopia Hotel. The quality of the food is excellent. There are lots of different types of food, juices, etc. They also make omelettes for you based on your selection. Of course all of this comes with a pricetag. However, I would recommend experiencing having breakfast watching the Kobe port and bay.

Excellent buffet, the best buffet in Kobe for sure. Food here is excellent, very fresh and also all produce is top quality. Salads, roast beef, fish, desserts all excellent. The issue is being careful not to overeat! Staff are incredibly courteous, polite and helpful, much as you would expect in Japan. You find that between courses while getting your next plate, all old plates are very discreetly cleared away. The restaurant itself is beautifully kept, with stunning views over Kobe. Truly a wonderful restaurant, excellent food, excellent staff, excellent views, highly recommended!

Having arrived within the last hour of evening service, little refreshing of the buffet dishes occurred, and some not present which considering we all pay the same cover charge is disappointing but what was there, same as lunch service it seems was tasty.

Overpriced and extremely mediocre food, stick to the convenience stores. The worst curry I've had in Japan, and the rice tasted like soggy overcooked microwave rice. For 1800 yen with a large coffee it's a ripoff given how bad the quality is.

The buffet was excellent. Every single dish is sophisticated. Don't forget that you must keep spare room for dessert! All petit cakes are also awesome. Waiters and waitresses are well trained. The floor is clean and bright. Because of in a dignified hotel, the price is not so affordable, but it’s occasionally good.

Can accomodate small groups. Outdoor seating available, which is unusual for Japanese cafes and restaurants.

This is possibly the worst Starbucks on the whole planet. I’ve never ever had any problems at any other Starbucks outside of Kobe city, or in any other city in the world. Even when ordering in Japanese they still constantly get simple drink orders wrong, possibly even deliberately. Staff are arrogant and feel they’re above everyone because they’re a “coffee master”… lol they use automatic coffee machines… nothing to master really. Starbucks is the McDonalds of coffee… so don’t expect too much at this particular store.

The drink and foods are fine, it's a standard starbucks. My problems come with the bathrooms. There are two single stall rooms female and both + accessible. The both + accessible as of june 22nd 2024 is out of order which leaves only one bathroom for the whole place. To top it off the bathroom is out of soap.

A menu varieties as normal branch of Starbucks but the view is different. This branch had good location and good view to see sunsets. Such a nice place for take a break after trips.

It is very dangerous to arrive here believing map apps, which caused a mortal accident of two chinese tourists at a railway crossing near to this coffe shop in January 2025. The local people knows that crossing is dangerous to cross, which map apps don't indicate. It is not for tourists. And this area is so windy that inhibit you to leave the balcony.

The staff are really friendly and they place is very clean. There's lots of seating on the second floor with a terrific view of the ocean and Awaji Island. There are 2 bathrooms one on the main floor and on the second. They have free parking outside and next to the sushi restaurant. However this place is not wheelchair friendly. There is no way for wheelchair bound people to go upstairs.

1 of the best Starbucks! You can get the great view of Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the biggest suspension bridge in the world. I felt this Starbucks was designed for this single purpose: to watch world’s biggest bridge. So, the location is definitely the best to watch the bridge for sure, but a bit hard to reach. You have to walk here from a small local station, or drive a car there. And nonetheless this place is worth visiting!

As for the staff, be extremely careful around them. They won't be able to think for themselves and the managers are not to be trusted if you have an issue. Update: On Feb 13, I went and got some hot chocolate to go. It was my first time ever ordering "to go" from that store. Apparently came to learn no matter if you order to go or dine in, they charge you 10 percent. The manager said it was the opposite, 10 percent take away and 8 percent dine in, while I asked another employee, who could speak English, said it was the same at 10 percent each. Be extremely careful in this store as if you order to go, they are stealing from you. The law is 10 percent when consumed at store and 8 percent if taken home. Classical coffee shop in the midst of motomoachi district. Dessert are high quality and coffee are well brewed. Food are very traditional styled with big portions. Only complaint is that since it is a traditional place, it doesn't really have non-smoking seats.

Arguably the best pancakes in Kobe! Nice restaurant of the old skool style is fun to eat in. Smoking is permitted which is a bit of a shame, but the atmosphere and decor is really from days gone by. Good place to sit, eat, drink and watch the world go by. Easy to find and with a lot of history, a lovely restaurant for breakfast or any other meal.

This Starbucks is in the basement of the International House in the center of Kobe, and it feels pretty cozy and relaxed. It has many seats but can get very crowded during the weekend, especially in the afternoon.

Lots of seating, usually very busy though. Coffee is reasonably good, the staff are very friendly, efficient and smile a lot which warms the feel of the place. Better mid-week than weekends if you feel like a quiet coffee.

Pretty good Starbucks with friendly staff and a warm welcome. Can be very challenging to get a seat, it gets very busy during the day. Nice big windows create a light bright atmosphere which is good when you get a seat though. Plus there are power outlets so you can work or surf the net via WiFi if you wish.

I went to this Starbucks today (Sunday) and it wasn’t busy at all! I think I will come more often then. The staff were so nice to ask about my day. They kindly listened to my plan to visit Akame 48 Waterfalls hiking trail in Mie. I’ve been feeling sad about my personal life lately, and they really brightened up my day. Thank you!

A great and conveniently-located place for breakfast in Sannomiya. We picked bread to eat from the bakery; we had to use Google Translate to figure out what the breads were but we were happy with our choices. The seating area is quite big and the atmosphere was relaxed. We enjoyed our breakfast here!

I ordered the nutty chai latte. After so many bad coffees in Japan I thought this might be another wild card but it turned out really good. The spice is not overpowering and it’s more on the sweet & milky side.

It’s a McDonald’s near the bar street in Kobe so it’s full of drunk people. I understand drunk customers could be annoying but that is not the excuse for a global company as McDonald’s. Staffs are not well trained and food are quite worse then the other McDonald’s stores in Japan. I’m not sure if my fries and burgers were fresh made. Worse McDonald’s experience in the world.
