Kep Beach

Outdoor Activities
Kep Beach is a charming white-sand beach in the town of Kep, Cambodia. It offers a relaxed seaside village feel with local seafood restaurants and traveler accommodations nearby. Visitors can explore the unique Kep Crab Market and enjoy waterfront dining options. Additionally, the beach serves as a starting point for boat trips to nearby islands, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely day by the sea.
As far as Cambodia’s beaches go, Kep is by far the best. The surf is almost non existent (it’s a shallow bay) but there are now chairs, umbrellas and hammocks to rent for the day. The scenery is stunning and they keep it clean. Plenty of little stores and food carts around too.
Andrew B — Google review
Nice quaint little beach with great cheap seafood all around. hammocks, umbrellas, chairs, inner tubes. life vests available for rent for a few dollars. Clean and nice. Not very busy when we were there on Saturday and Sunday. I recommend this place.
David M — Google review
I visited the beach on a rainy day. The sea was murky with big waves. The sky was filled with dark grey clouds, heavy with rain. Perhaps when the dry season comes around, the beach will look picture perfect. Nevertheless, there were many visitors enjoying the bracing winds.

Kep Beach – A Peaceful Escape in Cambodia Kep Beach, located in southern Cambodia, is a quiet and peaceful coastal destination ideal for travelers seeking relaxation. Also known as the “capital of blue crabs,” Kep is famous for its fresh seafood, especially crab dishes that are both delicious and reasonably priced. The beach itself is clean, with calm waters and soft sand, perfect for swimming or simply enjoying the sun. During the day, visitors can take part in various beachside activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, or exploring nearby islands by boat. There are also local restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy a drink while taking in beautiful ocean views. Despite its charm, Kep remains quite undeveloped. Public facilities and infrastructure are still limited, and after sunset, the town becomes very quiet, with few options for nightlife or evening entertainment. Kep Beach is best suited for travelers who prefer peaceful natural settings, authentic local food, and a slower pace of life. It’s an excellent weekend escape from busy cities or a relaxing stop on a broader trip through southern Cambodia. If you’re looking for a calm retreat and some of the best crab dishes in Southeast Asia, Kep is definitely worth a visit.
Thành N — Google review
Best place to relax and refresh after a long week of work. Kep is amazing and we love it there to get out of the city.
Alexander K — Google review
best views we can swimming and buy something for eat best place for relax with fresh air.
Saothy L — Google review
Highly recommend visiting this beach! It seemed like they had just put down fresh sand but we loved it here. We spent a few hours under one of the umbrellas and ordered beers from the kiosk close by. The sunset was insane and it was so quiet for a beautiful beach. The staff were trying to pick up the rubbish and keep it clean, a lovely spot to relax!
Bianka W — Google review
Everything around beach is being destroyed. All 100+ years old chestnut trees - cut down. A huge hotel complex will be built there for next several years. Expect big trucks, dust and dirt, construction noise. Who needs beautiful nature when you can sell your country for casinos, right?

Kep National Park

Nature & Parks
Kep National Park, established in 1993, is a nature reserve located in the remote areas of Kep in Cambodia. It features an 8km circuit suitable for walking and mountain biking, passing through dense forests, wats, and viewpoints. The 'Stairway to Heaven' trail leads to a pagoda, nunnery, and Sunset Rock viewpoint.
What an amazing 8 k.m. motorbike ride or very long walk throughout KEP national park. Amazing concrete sealed road & I'm shocked that it's not on the tourist maps. The forests, trees , scenery was spectacular to say the least & very well worth the visit Such an awesome place not to be missed.
Adam C — Google review
Had a great 10km run at Kep National Park. The road is in good condition, surrounded by nature with fresh air all around. The views are beautiful, and I even caught the sunrise — a perfect way to start the day. Highly recommend for runners and nature lovers!
Sothyreak P — Google review
This is a really beautiful park with an 8 km paved loop that is easy to access through two entrances. There is a ranger at the entrance, and the $1 fee per person is definitely worth it. We first entered from the left side of the park and started walking towards inland, then continued onto the so-called Jungle Route (I think?). The trail quickly turned into a steep climb where we had to hold onto trees and plants to make our way up. It felt adventurous, but after a while the path became harder and harder to follow until it almost disappeared completely. At that point we decided to turn back, which was not easy, especially going down, it was quite a tricky descent. Back on the main paved path, we continued on the standard route towards Sunset Rock Viewpoint. This part was much easier and absolutely worth it. The view was stunning, and it felt like a rewarding end to the walk. Overall, the park offers both adventurous trails and accessible routes, making it a great place to explore. Sunset Rock is highly recommended. It would get 5 stars if all the paths were kept well and marked.

Kep National Park, mountain tracking by feet 👣 or by Car. Entry free $1/foreigner or $5/Car. Top view coffee shop. Single entrance from one gate, one way road & exit from other way. Nice peaceful place to relax 🧘‍♀️
Rajib D — Google review
Very easy hike on a paved path. It’s not a complete loop as it exits out into a street that requires you to walk around the coast along Kep Beach and around to get back to the starting point.

Kep Crab Market

Mentioned on
1 list
Seafood market
Kep Crab Market is a cluster of rustic oceanfront crabshack restaurants, offering a local and friendly atmosphere for an authentic dining experience by the water. While some places have become more touristy, there are still mom-and-pop spots that provide an uneven but genuine experience. The market is known for its freshly grilled crabs and seafood, allowing visitors to select their choice and have it cooked on the spot.
If you’re looking fresh seafood for lunch or dinner, the Crab Market in Kep, Cambodia, is a great choice. Whenever I visit the beach and want seafood, this is my go-to spot. The selection is fresh, and the atmosphere is lively-definitely worth a visit!
Sophat C — Google review
Not many stalls when I were there but they had fresh crabs, fruit and clothes stalls. Not very busy but the fried crabs I bought was really good! My friend also recommended having a crab curry by picking out the crab yourself.
Jenny L — Google review
There's not much there really... A wet market and a ton of restaurants... Good for a couple of hours day trip - go, have lunch, and head back. Easy ride on a scooter.
Joe G — Google review
Good if you like shellfish! Can buy a selection and have it cooked for you for about 50¢. No where to sit and eat it, but just gown the road you'll find places you dot for free or sit for z small fee and he served beers etc.
Chris B — Google review
we found fresh local seafood and the. they cooked it for us also. skip the pricey restaurants, pick your fresh seafood, have them prepare it to your preferences then go across the street to the kids park with tables or go down to kep beach and pay $5 for all day tent and chairs and make a day of it! recommend this market, low cost, high quality. skip the expensive places next door
Tim K — Google review
Busy and not too busy place with a mix of market atmosphere as well as restaurant stalls. Try grilled banana rise rolls or freshly grilled octopus. The seller are like family even when they compete with their neighbor stalls. Wonderful place to eat, buy and spend time. For a refreshing swim at the beach drive 1km to the Kep beach after eating at the crab market.
Peter P — Google review
Do not missed this local market on your trip in Kep! It’s very interesting market full of local food discoveries. Beautiful for doing local pictures… Crab here is famous, so the market is very well-known in Cambodia. Defo worth the visit :)
Adeline B — Google review
The only way to experience the Kep Crab Market is this; Go into the market pick some crabs out and ask them to cook it in the pepper sauce. Find some sides and someone with some drinks so you can use their table and enjoy.

Learned a lot about pepper and quite useful actually because pepper is simple and nice ingredient to have for cooking or salad dressing . Have to specially mention Kim who gave us the tour today . He is from the farm and he has great sense of humor and lots story to tell you . Speaks fluent French and English , very talented guy.

This was an amazing tour. The family were so nice and knew a lot about the pepper and other things that grow here. Can definitely recommend
Da_meme_ B — Google review
Small and authentic farm where everything— from pepper to jackfruits and mangoes — is grown organically, and where the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. We had the chance to get a very informative tour of the farm and taste the different types of equally delicious peppers before the start of our cooking class. Our chef was absolutely lovely and taught us how to prepare delicious chicken curry, lok lak and chek ktis. There’s also a variety of products available in their shop, and you can relax in their many hammocks. An absolute must-see!
Laura N — Google review
Excellent! You get a free tour with tasting when you arrive. Our guide was really friendly and funny! You aren’t pressured into buying anything at the end either although we did but some of the rum and fresh pepper
Susie L — Google review
Today I had the pleasure of a private tour of the farm, guided in very friendly and fluent English. Afterwards, we enjoyed a pepper tasting, accompanied by many personal stories and fascinating bits of history. The whole experience felt wonderfully relaxed and authentic. On site, there is also a restaurant and the chance to buy local products. The pepper itself is absolutely delicious – for me, the green pepper was the clear highlight. There’s even the opportunity to join a cooking class, which makes the visit all the more special.
CEO L — Google review
Very interesting farm. They gave the visitors free tour of the pepper farm and the fruit farm. We are allowed to eat the fruits too for free. Mangoes, rambutan. Superb! As an indonesian, i approve. You can also purchase different peppers there. The peppers do taste better, maybe because of organic? Enjoy! Please purchase to support the local farm. Oh, the ride to the place was also very interesting. We had so much fun driving the motorbike and enjoyed the villages around. Very recommend if you are in town! Ps: if you worry about not having international license, we didn't see any police stop. Heck, kids are driving here. :))
M M — Google review
Less touristy pepper farm in a beautiful area. Here, you can take a free guided tour of the farm and learn about the history of pepper cultivation in Cambodia, as well as the various types of pepper grown on the farm. You get to taste different peppers. In addition, the farm offers a range of souvenirs and gift items for sale. Loved my visit and can recommend it to everyone.

We really enjoyed our trip out here and the drive is really pretty. Very easy to get to by motorbike. The people are really friendly and welcoming- they offer lemongrass and pepper tea upon arrival which was very good. The tour was informative and the guide spoke good English. We were also excited to buy some organic pepper and tea to bring back home.

Nestled on a hill in Kep, Wat Samathi Pagoda offers a serene and picturesque setting with panoramic views of the city and nearby islands. The temple is adorned with beautiful sculptures and provides a peaceful atmosphere for visitors to enjoy. Accessible by climbing steep stairs, the pagoda is an ideal spot to immerse oneself in Khmer culture and explore Buddhist shrines and statues.
Located on top of a hill, you'll need to take elevated paths upwards. But what awaits you made it worth the journey! Golden roof, amazing sculptures, magnificent pillars. Don't forget you can see the city from on top here!

Best place in the area, perfect for picnics. Very peaceful. Please don't make noise if you go, have respect 🙏🏾

A Buddhist pagoda located at the quieter part of the town, which was very less frequented by tourists. When I reached,I was the only foreigner there. But with some amazing & friendly locals & monks. Also met a young monk. After going up the stairs,a nice panoramic view welcomes you. Also the whole life story of Buddha is very nicely depicted on the walls.
Biswajit S — Google review
Sitting atop a hill in beautiful Kep, this amazing pagoda has panoramic views of the islands in the distance. I was the only person there, so I had plenty of time to capture all the beauty of this quiet and peaceful place. If you've got a couple of hours to spend, make sure you come here. It's worth it.
Steven W — Google review
As a traveler or a tourist , You can spend a lovely afternoon there enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. To be honest though nothing is so special about it it’s another beautiful pagoda where you can go up all those stairs and marvel at the city from higher up 😍
Asmaa . — Google review
Very peaceful and beautiful temple on the hill. Must see views over Kep and the islands. We got a tuk tuk from Kep beach to the gate of the temple then walked up the steep stairs to the temple, I recommend doing this in the morning before it gets too hot like we did or later in the afternoon when it’s cooling down. Beautiful sculptures around the temple, and very quiet. Didn’t come across any tourists :)
Sophie — Google review
We came around New Year and saw absolutely no people. Quite interesting and seems very few visitors to the temple. A vipassana centre is nearby but seemed to be somewhat under construction so we couldn’t see if classes had started.

Kep Butterfly Garden is a serene and lush spot to visit while in Kep. The gardens are filled with lovely plants, flowers, and butterflies, creating a tranquil atmosphere for a leisurely stroll. Although the road leading to the garden may be slightly rough, it's nothing major as long as you drive carefully. There's no entrance fee; visitors are encouraged to leave a donation instead.
Very tranquil place with a butterfly house. We came by foot from the Kep National Park trail. The traverse path is short, steep and little slippery, but worth the descend. Entrance fee is 1$ and for the same amount you can buy a cold drink or chips. It's really worth coming and supporting this facility and the family here. Looks like they started growing bananas now and hopefully the fruits of this effort will land in some tourists bellies.
Peter P — Google review
Beautiful garden to visit, it was just a few of butterfly when we went there because they had an issue with cocoon. But the place is really beautiful, and the inside net garden is magical. The road is ok in scooter to go.
Adeline B — Google review
From my experience use to come in the butterfly garden, sometimes we have visited there during rainy weather and the butterflies cannot come out to fly for us to see because they are afraid of the rain and their wings getting wet will be died so they keep stay under the tree leafs also now there not so much of the butterfly because the people live around there they spray the grass by very strong chemicals that spray fly into the garden so why that no have so much butterfly But I still want to visit because there nice garden and quiet 🥰🥰🥰
Ratanak A — Google review
Me and my girlfriend came up here in the afternoon one day. Slightly difficult to get to, you can’t follow google maps as this does not show the correct road, there are other reviews we followed which got us here. We were on bikes and the dirt road was a bit difficult but worth it! Not sure why others reviews say they didn’t see any butterflies, we saw loads! Got a few photos of some of the ones on show but there are loads more here. Entry is $1. The actual butterfly part is fairly small but we just took our time and sat down a few times. You can also wander around the gardens. We were probably here an hour or so. Worth it for the dollar!
Oli S — Google review
The Butterfly Garden was not open today. Maybe because of the low season, maybe closed forever? It was kind of cool to walk around the abandoned place, but sadly not many butterflies. If you plan to walk over there, starting from Led Zep Café, expect a very steep path with ropes to hold on to.
Brent M — Google review
GET TO THE BUTTERLY GARDEN BY BIKE (Google Maps Fix) First, don't follow the directions given by Maps. I've tried to fix it in Maps, but Google has no information for the road (Maps screenshot 1). That road will take you to the exit gate of the national park. There is no way in from there. In fact, the concrete national park road won't go past Kep Butterfly Garden either, even if you take the entrance road anticlockwise (Maps screenshot 2). What you want to do is follow the route in Maps screenshot 3. Instead of taking a left towards the national park, carry on straight for about 1 km. Next, take a left at the small sign for the butterfly garden (photo 1 and 2, Maps screenshot 4). Carry on along this gravel road. When you come to fork in the road, go left. You'll know you're close when you see the sign for the butterfly garden next to the Keo Organic Farm (photo 3). Take the left and carry on for about 100m - 200m. Can't miss it from there.
Richard S — Google review
The garden is beautiful and very well maintained, you can see various flowers and butterflies, as well as caterpillars and hatching. Worth the trip and the $1 entrance fee.
Ori — Google review
The Butterfly Garden is not particularly special, but it is interesting to see how the butterflies are raised in their cocoons. There is also a small covered area, nicely arranged, where you can spot some butterflies. The variety is limited, but it’s still a pleasant activity and a nice change of pace while in Kep. Be aware that Google Maps shows the wrong route. Make sure to check other Google reviews for the correct directions, otherwise it can be hard to find. The road goes quite a way up the hill, so it takes a bit of effort to get there. Entrance is $1, as they ask for a small donation. Not a must-see, but worth a short visit

The farm has received a Protected Geographical Indication, similar to the certification that protects regional products like Champagne. La Plantation offers free guided tours led by passionate guides who provide insight into the plantation and its production processes. Visitors can also enjoy a complimentary pepper tasting experience with the option to purchase high-quality products from the on-site restaurant and gift shop.
Such a beautiful place. I can’t believe such a great and informative tour is free! I’ve genuinely never taken an interest in pepper or how it’s grown but it was so interesting to learn about and we absolutely loved the tasting. Their new Spice Bar offers breathtaking views and I would come again for a drink and to just take in the surroundings. Tried the most delicious coconut, tamarind and cinnamon sorbet and the vanilla and pepper is yummy as well.

We came here as part of a day tour around Kampot & were really impressed by the free tour offered here (highlight was sampling at the end!). Our guide was very knowledgeable with great English & we didn't feel pushed to purchase products or anything at the end which we really appreciated. Highly recommend trying the ice-cream at the Spice Bar after the tour :)
Phoebe P — Google review
We had a really lovely visit to The Plantation near Kampot. Our guide Veha was excellent – he spoke with real passion and knowledge, making the tour both interesting and personal. We enjoyed tasting different types of pepper and local spices. And,.. and the pepper coffee and pepper vanilla ice cream were simply fantastic. A beautiful place, very much worth a visit.
Margareta S — Google review
I was there on a tour from "Getyourguide", it was approximately 1.5h long. Local staff and guide speak English very well and can explain all the processes on the plantation in a very detailed way. I was happy to find out that plantation supports local community and school, people who worked there were truly happy about working conditions. The plantation itself is an amazing place, like taken directly from a movie, surrounded by rich green landscapes. There's a store inside, offering a variety of over 100 spices, you can try most of them before purchase.
Artur P — Google review
A wonderful place to visit. Make sure to take the free farm tour and tasting. It takes approximately 1hr and you learn all about how they grow and make pepper and also get to taste many different types. They’re also a company giving back to the community. Entry is free which is good and the products in the shop are not too expensive. A top attraction in Kampot
Olly S — Google review
I really enjoyed tasting, understanding, and learning how pepper grows there. There was a variety of pepper mostly grown in Kampot, but some was brought from other provinces in Cambodia and/or other countries. They also provided a free tour of the farm with an English or French-speaking tour guide. Everything here is worth the time to come and check out. They also sell their peppers, teas, and other products that they grow there. I highly recommend the butterfly herbal tea as shown in the picture. 5/5, definitely I would come back.
Oscar R — Google review
I had a really good time here! Love that they’re doing donation-based tours where you can see the pepper plants, hear about the history and taste different kinds. Also tried pepper ice cream and beer at the restaurant. It was a bit expensive, but tasted very good!

The Krung Kep Blue Swimmer Crab Statue is a magnificent tribute to the abundant crab reserves in Kep, Cambodia. This iconic blue crab statue stands proudly in the sea, symbolizing the city's association with this delicious crustacean. It has become a local landmark and a popular spot for locals and tourists alike to take photos and enjoy the beautiful sight of the sea.
No visit to Kep beach is complete without an IG moment with the giant Blue Crab. It's also the perfect place to get a unique shot using a drone.

This statue is quite outstanding and stands out well. It symbolise the famous flower sea crabs in Kep but unfortunately no more and what's left are baby and small ones. There are few mobile stalls set up along the pathway here selling bbq shrimps and squids but no crabs.
Edwin S — Google review
...not much to see in the area surrounding the statue, but still worth a visit. There are numerous dilapidated houses in the surrounding forest. The French wanted to build a new residence here.
Frank N — Google review
Riding down from Kampot. Half journey road condition is bad with potholes. Beach is not suitable for swimming. It's just a place to enjoy the sea breeze. Nearby Hill, there are some cafes with an awesome view of the horizon. The weekends are fully packed with locals coming in drove to enjoy a whole day lazing around in rented huts with hammocks. Seafood was famous among the locals coming from nearby towns.
Kenny C — Google review
As you can see by the picture, it was high tide when we stopped here. It was very exciting as the sea was gun-metal grey and impressive in strength. It had been a usual, muggy hot and humid day, so I took great delight in being sprayed as the waves crashed against the ballasts lining the beach. It didn't look like it was possible to swim anywhere near there as it was too rough and the sandy beach had all but disappeared.
Heather S — Google review
A huge statue of a giant crab on the Kep beach, Waterfront, Kep, Cambodia offers a beautiful sightseeing and the symbolic of Kep City. It’s the photo spot and famous place for people to enjoy fresh crab at the beach or they buy at the crab market. There were few small restaurants and eateries which offers delicious sea foods, drinks and beer. A perfect place to witness a beautiful and mesmerizing view of sunset during evening.
Soklyda S — Google review
Kep is synonymous with crab, so it is only fitting that it has a giant statue paying tribute to the crustacean. It should come as no surprise then that the Kep Crab Statue is a local landmark that depicts a blue swimmer crab. Cambodians flock from far and wide to devour this local delicacy that can be found in abundance at the crab market down the road. It’s hard to miss the crab statue. If you continue on the road past Kep Beach you will pass by the crab statue standing proudly in the sea. Nothing quite says “Kep” like crab, so it is a popular spot for taking selfies. Join in the action, pull over and start snapping.
Nguyên H — Google review
This statue is erected as a representation of the famous indigenous Blue Swimmer crab which is found in the beach-side waters of Kep. From here, these are even sent out to high quality dining restaurants in the capital,Phnom Penh. One can also buy them at the crab market, just after they are caught.Direct from the sea to the plate.

When in Kep, make sure to visit the lively Kep Market to experience the local culture. The market offers a variety of goods including fresh produce, traditional Cambodian snacks, and local handicrafts. You can also find reasonably priced food stalls offering delicious meals. Additionally, the market provides an opportunity to interact with locals and exchange currency at decent rates. While it can get crowded, it's a great place to spend a morning or afternoon and enjoy some fresh seafood.
Nice cosy market to buy fruits, broom sticks and alot different things. Also have 5 or 6 different hairdresser. 👍 Cheap market. 2 usd for shave and haircut

If you want to eat delicious food but escape the tourist prices in Kep, this is the place to be. A number of food stalls, produce, seafood, and the usual market items (toiletries, simple clothes, towels, etc.) We got beef noodle soup and pork rice at local prices and had a chance to interact with the locals a bit as well. It is just a short walk to the beach (and the overpriced tourist restaurants) so why not make this your "go to" place in Kep Go eat at the beach if you're loaded with cash Let the tourist stalls lighten your stash But if you want a reasonable place to eat The Kep Market is where you should point your feet Pro Tip: Like most markets, the market opens early (around 6:00AM for some stalls) and closes early in the evening (often by 5:00PM). Keep this in mind.

Kimly Seafood Restaurant

Restaurant
Nestled by the picturesque Crab Market in Kep, Cambodia, Kimly Seafood Restaurant is a must-visit for seafood lovers. This charming eatery offers an authentic taste of the region's renowned blue crab and other fresh catches from the sea. With its inviting atmosphere and stunning coastal views, diners can indulge in delicious dishes while soaking up the vibrant local culture.
Expect some Cambodian service, and give them some time to deliver. The krab was seasoned for foreigners, and you can taste the freshness. The best dish was the rice porridge with prawn, crab, and squid. It is a rich flavor and is easy on the stomach.
Davit S — Google review
We shared the crab amok and curried prawns and it was my favourite meal in Cambodia - made even better by the fact you can request the dishes spicy and have lots of chilli added! Sun setting over the restaurant while we dined and a nice glass of wine to go with it all. 10/10, can’t wait to return if I’m ever back in Kep.
Emma D — Google review
The crab curry was yummy and had lots of meat on the crab. Small portions are quite big, can share between 2-3 people. I would definitely come back to order the crab curry. Food was cooked at an adequate speed, but even though there weren't a lot of people, it took them forever to take our order, to bring us drinks and white rice. Fried rice was a bit dry, but good taste.
Chhun U — Google review
Came to this place on a day trip from Kamoit to Kep. My Tuk Tuk driver said this place was very famous in the area, and after eating the crab, I can see why. The fried crab with green Kamoit pepper was super messy and super delicious. I liked it so much I ordered crab spring rolls after just to keep trying the crab. Restaurant also has a great view of the ocean when sitting outside.
James O — Google review
The shrimp was so flippin good— wow. Even though we went at a very busy time, there was no wait. We got to sit on the deck overlooking the water. The wait staff is on it, the food is great, and the view is even better.
Lzz J — Google review
The crab with pepper is the best—so fresh and so big, even in the small portion! But the fried noodles are tasteless.

Holy Crab

Mentioned on

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful seafood experience, look no further than Holy Crab. This popular spot among expats offers a vibrant atmosphere where you can indulge in Asian-inspired seafood dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. While it may be pricier than grabbing crabs from the market, dining at Holy Crab provides an enjoyable ambiance and attentive service that enhances your meal. The menu features a variety of options, including crispy squid seasoned with Kampot pepper—a must-try!
Holy Crab is an absolute gem and has quickly become one of my all-time favorite restaurants. While its surroundings might not do it justice, the restaurant itself is a true standout. We had dinner for seven and ordered family-style with five entrées, three appetizers, rice, and drinks. The total bill was just $110 (before tip)—an incredible value. The menu is phenomenal. We loved every single dish, even the pasta, which we weren’t expecting to be great here—it turned out to be some of the best pasta we’ve ever had. The flavors, variety, and quality were exceptional across the board. The restaurant is cozy and charming inside, with an amazing view of the water and stunning sunsets. This kind of culinary and waterfront experience in the U.S. would easily cost over $400 for a group of seven, making Holy Crab a standout for both quality and affordability. I can’t recommend Holy Crab enough. If you’re in the area, it’s an absolute must-visit. We loved it so much, we’re already planning to go back tomorrow!

This restaurant is very clean. They are also MSG free. We felt the food was very fresh. The staff very friendly. Went there a few times on our 3 night stay here. I had the Steamed crab with lemon butter sauce and white rice, it was delicious!
Melissa V — Google review
Holy Crab. Claims to serve MSG free food. Flavors were very simple lacking a bit of depth overall. Just wondering if this was the best place in the whole strip of restaurants at this bay.
Pro E — Google review
This restaurant is located on a very busy seaside street. They have a very aesthetic decoration. They claim to serve MSG-free food. The price was a little bit high for the portion. he food took a little bit too long, yet it is very tasty. Among the dishes we ordered, the crab fried with pepper is the best, in which the crab blends well with the stir-fried sauces and the meat is literally fresh. The BBQ prawn and stir-fried squid are average.

KEP’S BEST Kep’s crab market crab shacks are one of the reasons Kep is such a fabulous seaside town. The best of the crab shacks is Holy Crab, consistently spot on every time. The freshest seafood, reasonable prices, great space and great service. Their crab cakes are incredible and they do the best version of Kep’s signature dish, stir fried crab and green peppercorns. #cambodia #kep #cambodiafoodie

Wow - we were tipped off by a local cafe owner in Kampot that we had to come here for the crab amok - and so glad we listened! The best crab dish I’ve ever eaten, so so flavorful and full of crab meat. We came after the crab market so really weren’t that hungry, but devoured everything we ordered. The service was also really good and friendly, and the place was really stylish and modern of course with a great view of the ocean. Thank you!
Sean P — Google review
Ate a mango salad with really fresh squid and small prawns at lunch today. Had to come back for dinner… Holy Crab is the flashiest looking restaurant on the strip but their pricing is on par with most other places alongside them so don’t be put off and immediately think it’ll blow your budget. The venue is clean, well designed, has good furniture (no miss matching chairs here) and ‘holy crap’ the ablutions are also spotless! It gets better though… I hate getting presented a dirty and trashy looking menu with dog eared pages (and so often it’s presented upside down in a casual ‘here it is’ manner) - well not here at Holy Crab. The menu pages are clean as a whistle, well laid out and presented correctly. The owner/manager has trained his staff exceptionally well right through the whole process of greeting and seating to taking the order, setting the table…everything. And, then there’s the food. I’ve already mentioned the US$4 mango salad at lunch - every ingredient on the plate was fresh and delicious. Dinner - the same - fresh and wonderfully crafted on the plate. Three prawns (thoughtfully peeled) and three pieces of squid tube nicely grilled and served with a Kampot pepper based dipping sauce. Main course of a snapper curry w/ vegetables and a side of steamed rice was generous in size and well cooked. The chef at Holy Crab knows her cooking techniques. I couldn’t fault a thing. Worth repeating visits if you’re a solo diner like me, but in a group try more of the many selections on offer.

Pleasant evening in a lovely location, with great service. The staff were great at every stage! The food was tasty, but really overpriced for the area, you can definitely get better for cheaper. We did love the crispy squid with Kampot pepper! We ordered quite a few items, the least impressive was the chicken satay, very strange plating and not at all a satay sauce. Other than that tasty, but not outstanding. Nice for a drink watching the sunset.

La Barraka Restaurant & Bar

Restaurant
Had a delicious seafood salad here. Staff was friendly and the ambience was good as well.
MarinerJames — Google review
The outside of the restaurant looked a lot nicer than all of the other restaurants at crab Market, we chose to order a pizza and some pasta. When we got the food... It was another story. The pasta were full of oil and the pizza was squishy. Probably not the best place to eat at crab market..
Jeremie V — Google review
Lovely little spot to spend sunset eating local favourites and french cuisine. Staff are attentive and friendly and food was fantastic. Watching the sunset from the back of the restaurant with dinner or some drinks is time well spent.
Nicholas F — Google review
Amazing food with great flavor at a reasonable price given that it's fresh seafood. Delicious food. Khmer style fish and other sea food with vegetables but also good their service.
D S — Google review
Very expensive place. Not better than the other places next door. Pizza start from $7 for a Pizza Margherita. Staff was very friendly!
Carl K — Google review
This place is heavily overrated and quite a disappointment. We went based on good reviews, ordered margarita pizza, Napolitano pizza, seafood noodle, red wine. Pizza arrives in 5 min, burnt all over, tasteless, both pizza pretty much taste same, pizza base was bad. Staff was fast in taking order and then once food arrives, they keep staring at you, making it so uncomfortable. Wine was ok. Seafood noodle was good. The atmosphere is depressing, no proper lights and looks dirty and messy. Price is quite high for the terrible food they serve. Not going back, never.
Rajneesh K — Google review
The food is really bad and way to expensive. I ordered a three cheese pizza for $9. The cheese was good, but that was it. There was just no pizza, no dough. Only cheese. After I did not eat the pizza I ordered a dessert. What can go wrong with chocolate cake I thought. Well... everything. It was tasteless and mainly spongy. Go to Arts Cafe or Magic Crab. Their food is way better!
Francisca V — Google review
Place to avoid, please ! We ordered 3 pizzas, expensive. Pasta was no cooked enough, not salty enough. Neither italian, nor us style pizzas, just the worts I have eaten since a while. Topping discutable. Mushroom not fresh, no herb. "Is it good" is the question that they never asked to us. Even the chili oil was not good.

We went here for lunch yesterday after a recommendation from our tuk tuk driver. It was only after we had eaten that I saw all the great reviews. The restaurant overlooks the water. We over indulged and ordered crab spring rolls, the garlic crab, crab meat amok and our daughter ordered breaded chicken. All were delicious (the crab spring rolls had heaps of grab in it - only recommendation for the restaurant is for a spicy dipping sauce they often use for crab to be on the table) and our eyes were too big for our bellies! But we made it through. Service was quick (food was fresh being next door to the market). Good recommendation by Parry our tuk tuk driver!
Mel E — Google review
Based on great reviews we chose this restaurant but were a bit disappointed. We ordered the boiled crab, large portion, which came with 3 crabs and 2 portions of rice. The crab was tasty, but the rice was not very nice. The staff was helpful and kind. The restaurant is facing the sea, but there was a big construction at the port, which was very bothering. Also, the food was quite pricey.

The Secret Restaurant

Restaurant
Nestled within the picturesque Veranda Natural Resort, The Secret Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with ample seating and two diverse menus. Guests can indulge in both local Cambodian flavors and European classics at reasonable prices for such a stunning location. The service is impressively swift, ensuring you spend more time enjoying the breathtaking views of Kep beaches and the bay.
We stumbled in looking like drowned rats, dripping all over the floor, and collapsed at a table. Menus? Took forever. Towels? Eventually arrived, courtesy of a lone, overworked waiter who clearly hadn’t unlocked the “clone jutsu” skill yet. Respect for the towels though — not every place lets you dry yourself off like you’ve just respawned from a monsoon. When his teammate finally showed up, the pace picked up like Mario after grabbing a mushroom. Orders flew: small crab meat soup, small Vietnamese sour fish soup, small seafood noodles, and small crab fried rice. Key word here: small. Then the soup arrived. Except it wasn’t “small.” It was basically a cauldron. I actually asked the waitress if this was a mistake, because calling that thing “small” is like calling Thanos “slightly moody.” She smiled and confirmed: nope, that’s the small size. By the time I got through half of it, I was ready to tap out like a UFC fighter in round one. The food? Solid. Everything tasted great, but here’s the truth bomb: crab meat is overrated. Squid or prawns will win that fight every single time. The view? Rainy and grey, but it added a certain cinematic vibe, like eating in the director’s cut of The Notebook. Final Verdict: Service started slow, food portions were massive, taste was great, and crab meat is still the Nickelback of seafood. We left soaked, stuffed, and satisfied.
Wade W — Google review
I ordered pizza, lemon tart and coffee.. all the food tasted mediocre. - Pizza was bland - tart was alright but it tasted cheap so was the coffee that had a lot of small bean bit inside - The staff didn't even want to serve you when we call them, we have to go toward them ourselves and ask. - The environment and view is good for certain spot
Li L — Google review
The food was very good but honestly nothing special. Prices in this area are a little higher than what I'm used to here in Cambodia. Service was great and also the view and the place itself are very worth vising. But since I am a vegetarian there are not a lot of options...
Bella F — Google review
We always stay here when in Kep, but while the breakfast is great, the restaurant’s lunch and dinner are underwhelming. Once, I ordered a Niçoise salad but was served just mixed greens and boiled eggs—no tuna. They mentioned they were out of anchovies and served oil and vinegar separately, which felt off for a salad dressing. After asking, they added the tuna and a replacement sauce, but the lack of attention to food quality was obvious. Another salad we ordered also lacked a few ingredients, though we let it go. For a 4-star resort at this price point, it’s disappointing. Such a beautiful place should do better.

We were staying at the Veranda resort and ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. Great variety of both local and western dishes. Everything we ate was tasty, and to a high standard. The restaurant is open air with unbeatable views overlooking Kep beaches and the bay, and the atmosphere is lovely. Staff very friendly and service excellent.

Reasonable prices for this level of establishment and its location. Quite fast service. I only tried desserts and drinks. The apple pie was delicious, but insanely sweet. The chocolate coffee cake was a bit dry. The cocktail was of good quality. On the territory you can see lizards, scorpions, cats and a huge number of monkeys, which creates a special atmosphere. You can watch the sunset from the veranda if you're lucky with clouds. For a fee of $9 per person you can use the pool (towels are provided). Forget the rest come to the best restaurant in Kep. Fantastic service, great food and lovely atmosphere and the owner is wonderful Finally a restaurant that actually delivers exactly what you ordered. Wow I had the seafood pizza and my wife had Seafood Pasta. Both were served fast and piping hot and delicious. Then we even had home made ice cream for desert. What a difference to other restaurants we went to where we waited for such a long time, the food was served cold and resembled nothing like what was promised. Come to this restaurant, I very rarely if ever give 5 stars as I am 100% honest. This was Great, my only regret is that we are leaving Kep tomorrow otherwise would be back I should also mention happy hour from 5 to 7pm is $2 cocktails so we also had a Pina Colada each.Highly reccomend

A hidden Italian-owned restaurant with a relaxing ambience and great service. As for the food, I recommend the bruschetta with mozzarella and the antipasto for drinking with your friends. You may find the italian style salad a little weird if you’re not used to it, but overall the food is good.

Beautiful and cozy Italian restaurant not too far from the coast. Genuine Italian dishes (they even had handmade pasta) using local seafood and Kampot pepper! They even had a small garden for the kids to explore while the order was being prepared. We found exotic fruit trees and flowers and leaves that we don’t usually see in Phnom Penh. Less fanciness, but much better food. Street frontage does not look at all appealing, and it was mostly only Cambodians as patrons the result, but those in the know, know that it is some of the best fish available. Food takes a long time to come out, but they warn you about it up front. No happy hour, but great gin and tonic , deconstructed so you can customize it as you like.

If you care more about the food than the atmosphere, then you’ll love this place.

Airport
Phu Quoc International Airport, also known as PQC, is situated on the southern side of Long Beach, just about nine kilometers from Duong Dong. It's the primary airport serving Phu Quoc Island in southern Vietnam and has been operational since 2012. The airport features separate terminals for international and domestic flights and offers facilities such as currency exchange, local SIM card counters, restaurants, and duty-free shops.
It is a small airport but modern and efficient. Got all the necessary amenities and services. There are some restaurants outside the arrival on ground level. At the departure hall, there are only cafes with some food option. Immigration and security screening are efficient. There are water dispenser after the security near the departure waiting area. Seats are plenty. Toilets are clean and well maintained.

The arrival process took a long time, especially at immigration. It was quite slow despite not being very crowded. However, the airport layout is very straightforward, so there’s no confusion in finding your way. Everything is well-signed and easy to navigate. On the other hand, the departure process was fast and efficient. Check-in and security were smooth and didn’t take much time at all. Overall, a mixed experience — slow arrival, but quick and easy departure.

What stood out was the variety of shops and eateries inside — from souvenirs to snacks and local specialties, everything was reasonably priced compared to many other international airports. It was refreshing to see that shopping here didn’t feel overpriced or overly touristy. The staff at the stores and counters were equally courteous and approachable, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Overall, Phu Quoc International Airport left a great impression — well-managed, traveler-friendly, and the perfect start or end to a tropical island getaway. 🌴🇻🇳

Phu quoc international airport is very small airport , but it's near and functional.During busy hours, you might find a bit of a line at the baggage claim, so a little patience helps. On arrival, taxis are easily available right outside the terminal, very convenient after a long flight. 🚕 However, note that most taxi drivers ask for an additional 12,000 VND as an airport exit fee, which seems to be a standard practice here. The airport facilities are limited and there's definitely room for improvement in terms of space and efficiency.Despite that, the overall experience is smooth, and staff are polite and helpful.A few more amenities and faster baggage handling would make this airport much better. Still, it’s a simple and pleasant entry point to the beautiful island of Phu Quoc. 🌴

Excellent Experience at Phu Quốc International Airport Phu Quốc International Airport exceeded my expectations and made traveling to and from the island a breeze. The airport is modern, clean, and well-organized, offering a smooth and efficient experience from check-in to boarding. Despite being smaller than major international airports, it has all the necessary amenities and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were professional, friendly, and helpful throughout the entire process. Immigration and security procedures were quick and straightforward, with minimal wait times. The terminal is air-conditioned, with clean restrooms and comfortable seating areas, which made waiting for my flight much more pleasant. There are several shops and cafes offering local products, snacks, and souvenirs at reasonable prices. I especially enjoyed grabbing

The airport is small. It was late when our flight landed so not many stores or cafes were open. Since you do not need a visa it wasn't much of a hassle . The baggage came in quickly . When we departed too we did not have any tassels. Very few shops r there for purchase. When exiting I exchanged my remaining VND at one of the stores for a good price. The staff is polite n helpful

Phu Quoc Airport is modern, clean, and well organized. The arrival and departure process was smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The airport isn’t too big, so it’s easy to find your way around. There are a few cafes and souvenir shops, and everything is comfortable for travelers. A great airport experience that makes a good first and last impression of Phu Quoc Island!

Phu Quoc Airport is a small yet charming airport surrounded by lush greenery, making for a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. Though compact, it has all the essential amenities needed for a comfortable airport experience. It’s simple, clean, and easy to navigate. Our flight was unfortunately delayed by 3 hours, and the check-in counters hadn’t opened yet, so we had some time to explore. We headed to Cherry Blossom Restaurant, located right at the airport—and what a lovely surprise! The ambience was amazing, the decor was eye-catching, and the food was absolutely delicious. We tried the avocado smoothie, chicken banh mi, and egg fried rice—everything was fresh and flavorful. The avocado smoothie especially stood out—so creamy and refreshing! After check-in, we spent some time inside the airport where I grabbed a Vietnamese coffee from a small café. Honestly, it was one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had at an airport—rich, strong, and perfectly balanced. Except for the flight delay, everything else about the experience was smooth and enjoyable. A calm, clean airport with good food options—definitely made the wait better!
