Shopping
Ben Thanh Market is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Ho Chi Minh City. This bustling hub offers an authentic glimpse into Vietnamese daily life, showcasing a vibrant mix of handicrafts, clothing, and local delicacies. As one of the city's busiest markets, it’s the perfect spot to indulge in delicious street food while shopping for unique souvenirs and home goods. The lively atmosphere extends into the night market area, where visitors can savor popular dishes amidst the energetic buzz of city life.
Ben Thanh Market is one of the must-visit places Ho Chi Minh City. It is one of Vietnam’s most famous and historic markets. Built in 1914, it offers a vibrant mix of local goods—clothes, bags, shoes, dried food, nuts, fresh fruits, coffee powder, souvenirs, handicrafts, and street foods. The market’s bustling atmosphere makes it a lively and interesting place. Bargaining is necessary when you are buying something here.
CS C — Google review
You can spend a lot of time in the market and it can be intense and at close quarters with everyone keen to get your business. Prices are very negotiable. Its a great place to eat at a good price. The shopping is the surrounding streets is just as good and more enjoyable. There are some fixed price shops around which probably give a fair price although there can still be a bit of room to move. Generally at the other shops they will start at twice what they want. Of course if you have time it's best to try a few and you will usually get a good offer when you are walking away.
Paul J — Google review
A nice market with a high energy vibe! There are many shops of many different kinds of products. There's also a food court for your heart's delight. The food was very inexpensive and good. There are many styles competing for your patronage so you will have many food options to choose from with highly reasonable prices. It's also shoppers paradise for cheap bargains. Notice I said bargains because the prices can be negotiated up to 70 to 80% at times 🤪🤪 that of course depends on the shop and the item not everyone is as lucky 😂 but overall it's an enjoyable experience window shopping for a bargain. Hope you enjoy!
Kaveh S — Google review
ben thanh market is giving full sensory overload in the best way possible THE SHOPPING SITUATION this iconic spot is pure chaos but in a good way. the stalls are packed with everything from vintage ao dai to lacquerware that actually slaps. bargaining is expected, so bring your a-game. THE FOOD COURT VIBES the indoor food section is lowkey fire with stalls serving everything from proper pho to banh mi that hits different. it's the perfect place to sample multiple street eats without braving the heat. THE LOCAL EXPERIENCE yes it's touristy, but the energy here is next level. the constant buzz of vendors and shoppers creates this electric atmosphere that's uniquely saigon. come early to beat the crowds and heat. THE FINAL CALL if you want that classic market experience with all the sounds, smells, and flavors of hcmc, this is your move. embrace the chaos and you'll have a core memory in the making. don't forget to ❤️.
Yumz — Google review
I had high expectations for Ben Thanh Market, but the experience was disappointing. The place is extremely crowded and chaotic, making it hard to enjoy browsing. Many vendors are overly pushy and keep following you, which gets uncomfortable after a while. Prices are heavily inflated, and you really need to bargain hard — otherwise, you’ll end up paying far more than things are worth. The quality of some products also felt questionable. Overall, it felt more like a tourist trap than an authentic shopping experience. Ben Thanh Market was not as enjoyable as I expected. The place is too crowded, and it’s difficult to move around comfortably. Most vendors are quite pushy, and prices seem much higher than normal unless you bargain very hard. The market feels more tourist-focused than authentic, which made the experience underwhelming. My verdict: Ben Thanh market experience is not good, annoying vendors with forced sales, sophisticated inside, high price for tourist and arrogant people
Raj M — Google review
Ben Thanh Market is definitely a well-known spot in Ho Chi Minh City, especially for tourists. If you are looking for souvenirs, small gifts or general tchotchkes to bring home, you will find plenty of options here. It is busy, colorful and full of energy, which some people might really enjoy. For me personally, I did not find it particularly interesting. Most of the items felt very tourist oriented and not especially useful. Prices also start off quite high because it is a tourist-heavy area, so you are expected to negotiate. If you do not bargain, you will almost certainly end up overpaying. If you are looking for better quality items or things you might actually use, I would recommend checking out Saigon Square instead. It has a wider range of products, more reasonable prices and a more practical selection overall. Ben Thanh Market is fine for a quick visit if you want the tourist experience, but there are better options in the city for real shopping.
Ron T — Google review
Too narrow and crowded. Smell not good. As others mentioned, high brands and watches are all fake. Tourists may want to visit for their experiences. But I found one shop (named BÌNH MINH) there is a fluent Japanese speaker and she was nice. I bought some traditional pouches for souvenirs. Added review on 08Nov I visited 902 Huy and purchased some souvenirs for my family and friends. The owner was very kind and never push to sell you. Prices are very reasonable and you can find good quality of Vietnamese products. Worth visiting here.
Yoshitaka — Google review
This market is definitely worth seeing, but if you don’t mind wandering through the city you’ll find much better offers. You’ll notice the vendors are far more aggressive than other markets. Everyone is friendly though and they’re eager to sell. If you’re willing to bargain you can get really good deals. I’ll admit, I’m not so good at bargaining.

War Remnants Museum

War museum
Museums
The War Remnants Museum stands as a poignant testament to the Vietnam and Indochina wars, showcasing an array of photographs, weapons, and artifacts that narrate the harrowing tales of conflict. Situated in Ho Chi Minh City, this museum is dedicated to preserving history while educating visitors about the impacts of war on Vietnam. It serves not only as a repository for historical evidence but also aims to instill a sense of peace and solidarity among nations.
Visiting the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City was one of the most powerful and emotional experiences of my trip to Vietnam. I went in expecting to learn about history, but I left with something much deeper: a profound reflection on humanity, suffering, and resilience. The exhibits—especially the photographs—were deeply moving. Some images were so raw and disturbing that I almost cried while walking through the galleries. I found myself needing to pause and take time to process what I was seeing. The human cost of the Vietnam War, especially for civilians, was heartbreaking. What struck me most was how personal the museum felt. It doesn’t just present facts or military artifacts; it shows the faces, names, and lives of people affected—both Vietnamese and foreign. The section on Agent Orange and its lingering effects across generations was particularly difficult to take in. I left with a heavy heart but also with a greater understanding of Vietnam’s past and an even stronger appreciation for the strength and kindness of its people today. Despite everything the country endured, I was met everywhere with warmth and openness. This visit changed the way I think about war, history, and reconciliation. If you're in Ho Chi Minh City, I believe this museum is a must-visit. It’s not easy, but it’s important.
Stephanie C — Google review
The War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City offers a powerful and thought-provoking experience that dives deep into Vietnam's wartime history, particularly the Vietnam War. From the moment you enter, you're met with striking exhibits outside displays include American helicopters, tanks, and bombshells that set the tone before stepping inside. The museum’s galleries are well-curated, showcasing raw and emotional photography, first-hand accounts, weapon displays, and reconstructed prison conditions. One of the most impactful sections focuses on the long-term effects of chemical warfare, especially Agent Orange, with sobering imagery and survivor stories. The prison exhibit with life-sized mannequins and a preserved guillotine is chilling and historically significant. There’s also dedicated space exploring global support during the war, along with detailed panels about Da Lat and Phu Quoc prisons. The layout encourages reflection and personal interpretation, rather than forcing a political stance. You’ll want to spend at least 1~2 hours here to take in the emotional weight and historical context fully. It's not a light visit, but it's an essential one for anyone wanting to understand Vietnam’s past from a Vietnamese perspective. Respectful dress and quiet observation are appreciated in there. You don’t really have to buy your tickets in advance. Maybe on a weekend? I’m not sure. The collections in the museum are amazing. Just prepare your tissue, and yourself because you’ll get angry and teary at the same time. It’s not hot inside, and there’s an elevator for people with disabilities, elderly, or pregnant woman. If you really want to immerse yourself in here, and read everything. Allot at least 3-4 hours.
Cherry T — Google review
Amazing little museum. 3 floors of information pertaining to the Vietnam war and it’s lasting effects. In particular, I found the “War Photographers” section to be captivating…a lot of stories in there about journalists all over the globe that were intent on capturing the war and the brutality therein, often times paying the ultimate price for their attempts to broadcast the truth. The entire museum could easily take 2-4 hours if you’re intent on reading all the descriptions (provided in Vietnamese and English). One small note - I didn’t see any warnings, but some of the content in here can definitely be unsettling. I’m glad they haven’t shied away from this, as it’s important to show the horrible effects of the war directly. But there are quite a lot of pictures of dead and mutilated bodies, especially within the “War Crimes” room. Also, there’s a large section dedicated to the health ramifications of Agent Orange, showing the deformities (in both children and adults, Vietnamese and foreign) and mental conditions caused by that horrible chemical. I saw a lot of families with young kids in here, and a lot of the children had slightly terrified looks on their faces. I assume if it was affecting to me, it may have been doubly so for them. Again, I recommend coming and not turning your face away from the horrible facts and effects of the war, but if you’re sensitive or have young children who may not be mentally prepared for such imagery, you may want to avoid certain exhibits that you feel could include such photographs (mainly War Crimes and Agent Orange are the two areas that are disturbing, I haven’t included any pictures from them below). If you’re in Saigon even a little bit interested in the history and lasting effects of the war, this is a must-visit museum. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was crowded, but still easy to see everything.
Michael M — Google review
Was on an emotional rollercoaster. Need more than an hour here, like 2 or more to look at the pictures, read and absorb, and look at the artillery and remnants. There are several sections and take your time through each. You will definitely leave emotionally numb yet applauding the nation and the support it enjoyed during its struggles.....
Ishana M — Google review
Very sad and confronting. We really took our time to look at everything. The more and more we read it was a little disheartening. War is never a great thing but unfortunately this museum is very one sided. They don't tell the whole truth. In one way I understand why they say USA invaded but for the South this was not true. The USA and Australians and other countries came to help the South but this is never mentioned. Even speaking to locals about this they agree and a very passionate about how one sided it is. I still recommend this place highly but have your own view on this. Apart from that, the photos are always etched in my mind.
Helen B — Google review
It was a profound experience. It is not for the faint of heart as there are many graphic pictures, that depict the awful reality that was the war. I would be mindful about brining young children, however there is a play room up stairs for them. Do not miss this when you are in HCMC. It is very sad but a must see.
Kelton E — Google review
Was a great museum full of relics and monuments to a whole lot. The floors are dedicated to different “eras” or tragedies of the war. Which were of course depressing to read about, but very important to understand and learn from. The staff were also very helpful and there was a virtual tour (headphones) to help

Saigon Central Post Office

Post office
Sights & Landmarks
Sai Gon Central Post Office is a monumental building completed in 1891, featuring a blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and French colonial design. The interior boasts spacious vaulted ceilings, metal arches, and beautiful patterned tile floors. Visitors can also meet Mr. Duong Van Ngo, who has been writing letters for nearly 30 years within the building.
The Saigon Central Post Office is truly a magnificent landmark that beautifully reflects the city’s rich history and French colonial charm. The building is grand and spacious, with stunning architecture, intricate details, and a timeless atmosphere that takes you back in time. Even if you’re not sending mail, it’s absolutely worth a visit to admire the design and soak in the heritage. Inside, you’ll find vintage phone booths, old maps, souvenir shops, and friendly staff who keep the place lively. Located right next to Notre Dame Cathedral, it’s one of those must-see spots in Ho Chi Minh City that perfectly blends culture, beauty, and history. 💛📮✨

A must-visit landmark when you’re in Ho Chi Minh City. Even though I’ve been here a few times before, the charm of the Saigon Central Post Office never seems to fade. This time I only came to buy a few stamps, but ended up staying much longer, once again drawn in by its timeless beauty. The architecture is a real showstopper — French colonial with ornate detailing that gives the building an almost palace-like feel. The arched ceiling inside, painted in a mix of green and gold with iron support beams, is visually stunning. The mosaic floor tiles are equally beautiful and well preserved, adding another layer of character. At the far end, the large portrait of Ho Chi Minh watching over the bustling space gives the post office both cultural and historical weight. There are also old French maps painted directly onto the walls, one showing Southern Vietnam and Cambodia, which is a unique historical touch. Despite being a working post office, it also feels like a museum — and it does get quite warm inside due to the constant stream of visitors. If you haven’t considered visiting this building yet, definitely put it on your list. It’s both iconic and inspiring. Grand looking building from the outside and beautiful architect interior of the roof and the wall inside. However it was mostly being overshadowed by the tourist shopping trapped inside and out. It was super packed on the weekend as well so you can't really see all the space that clearly. But as it close to the book street and Notre Dame cathedral it was nice and easy to stop by!
Penny G — Google review
Visited Saigon Central Post office as part of a tour, so we only made a quick stop. It was quite crowded when we arrived around 2:30 PM. Lots of postcards and cute souvenirs for sale inside and outside. There are tables and chairs where you can write your cards, just bring your own pen. Postcards sold inside are a slightly pricey (25k–40k VND each). The nearby Book Market also sells similar ones. If you have time, get postcards at Ben Thanh Market instead. I got 3 for 20k VND, same quality and beautiful designs. Postage costs around 22,500–33,500 VND depending on the destination. The staff are helpful and also sell stamps (mostly 4k, 8k, 15k denominations). Just leave your written and stamped postcards in the small basket near the counter. Tip: Pre-write your postcards if you can, since it’s hot and crowded inside. Leave space for the stamps. Price for a postcard and enveloped greeting card are not the same. There’s Highlands Coffee right outside if you need a place to cool down. Notre Dame Cathedral is just across the street too. Got my postcards after 6 weeks they arrived in great condition with a nice red “Par Avion” stamp.

The Saigon Central Post Office is a stunning blend of history and architecture. With its grand façade and intricate interior, it transports you back in time. The atmosphere is vibrant, filled with locals and tourists alike. Be sure to admire the detailed murals and the impressive wooden counters. It's not just a functioning post office; it's a cultural landmark that showcases the rich history of Ho Chi Minh City. A must-visit for anyone exploring the area!
Chris G — Google review
We visited the Central Post Office on 7th July around 10:30 AM, and honestly, it completely exceeded our expectations. Many people might think, “It’s just a post office” — but trust me, it’s so much more than that. The moment you step inside, you’re hit with this amazing mix of colonial architecture, elegant interiors, and a really lively vibe. The high ceilings, arched windows, and vintage design make it feel like you’ve stepped back in time. It’s not just a building — it’s a part of Vietnam’s living history. Inside, there are lots of little shops where you can grab souvenirs, SIM cards, beauty products, and even some snacks. It’s surprisingly convenient and a nice mix of old-world charm and modern hustle. It was definitely crowded when we were there — tourists, locals, school kids — but in a good way. It just shows how loved this place really is. Despite the crowd, it didn’t feel overwhelming at all; the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. And here’s the part I loved the most — you can buy a postcard, write something personal, and send it to anyone in the world right from here. There’s something really beautiful about that — in a world of instant messages, writing and sending a real postcard from such a historic place just feels special. All in all, don’t skip this place thinking it’s just another government building. It’s an experience — beautiful, nostalgic, and full of character. Definitely one of the highlights of our time in Ho Chi Minh City.
Akshat G — Google review
My day trip to the Central Post Office was a definite highlight. The building itself is stunning, with its grand French colonial architecture and vibrant yellow facade. Inside, it's a fascinating blend of a historical landmark and a functional, bustling post office. I loved the high vaulted ceilings and the intricate details. You can easily spend time admiring the decor, sending a postcard, or just sitting on a wooden bench to soak in the atmosphere. It's conveniently located next to the Notre Dame Cathedral, making it easy to visit both. The Post Office is a must-see for anyone interested in history and beautiful architecture. 🏫
Aditya S — Google review
Nice architecture with plenty of souvenir booths. The activities, like sending yourself a postcard and taking photos in the photobooth, are worth trying. It’s not particularly cheap or unique, but it’s worth a quick visit for some good photos.

Cu Chi Tunnel

Sights & Landmarks
Cu Chi Tunnels, a vast underground network utilized by Viet Cong soldiers during the war, offers visitors a chance to explore exhibits and war memorials. Tourists can also experience crawling through widened tunnels to gain insight into the soldiers' wartime struggles. Many find it hard to fathom how Vietnamese soldiers lived and fought in such conditions. Chinese-speaking guides provide vivid explanations of the historical significance, making it an educational experience for those unfamiliar with Vietnamese history.
It is a symbol of Vietnamese people's resilience. Going through the tunnel was one of my thrilling experience in life. You will feel anxious while entering into the tunnels. Lot of tourists are visiting this place but still able to explore all the tunnel areas. There is a shooting area where you can practice shooting with M14 or other guns. We also got opportunity to ate cassava prepared by Vietnamese and it tastes good. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and explained all the things nicely.

Friday 17th October 2025: Good experience to visit and see how the NVA were so aware of their own surroundings and used them to their advantage. Plenty to visit on the site, but it gets extremely busy with tourists, and we were there at the start of the season. You can use the rifle range whilst there: hand gun (cant remember which one), and M16. I was informed they charge $2 per round, so if you want a full clip, thats gonna cost. Enjoyed the visit, it was just too busy, its one of thos early morning jobs you need to be there as soon as it opens to get total enjoyment

The Củ Chi Tunnels, located near Ho Chi Minh City, are an extensive underground network used by Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War. Stretching over 200 kilometers, these tunnels served as hiding spots, living quarters, supply routes, and hospitals. Today, they are a popular tourist attraction where visitors can explore sections of the tunnels and learn about the resilience and ingenuity of the Vietnamese people during wartime. Great experience and unforgettable day.
Pubudu T — Google review
A lot of fun visiting the tunnels with our terrific guide Kynie. So helpful in making sure everyone had the best experience. Full of interesting information and willing to answer all our questions. The tunnels are a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam’s history and well worth a visit.

Very educational- went to Ben Douc Tunnel. Got a good tour guide - Phu(Phil) from Vietnam adventure tours from Klook. Fantastic VIP (7 in group) pick up and drop off on limousine. Fantastic food included.

The experience was mixed. I had the bad luck to pick a terrible guide, frustrating part of my experience. The place itself is full of history and very impressive, but the huge tourist exploration can be irritating to the ones interested in history. But, anyway, the ingeniosity of the vietnamese resistance is admirable.
João S — Google review
I’m really happy I got the chance to visit Cu Chi Tunnels — it’s an amazing and emotional place. The guide told the stories so well, it made me imagine what life was like during the war. It’s hard to believe people actually lived and fought from those tiny tunnels. I couldn’t go inside because the air felt too heavy for me, but just walking around and listening to the history already touched my heart. It’s both impressive and sad at the same time — a real reminder of how strong the human spirit can be. #it was raining during visit, i suggest you to come early in the morning to avoid rain and traffic.
Riny F — Google review
Took us about an hour from city centre. The attractions are a showcase of war time tactics used by the soldiers during vietnam war. Most of it are a recreated version. I tried a 20m tunnel. It was challenging due to my size. It is not for those who are claustrophobic. It is narrow, less oxygen and if crowded with people behind you make it even more discomfort. The shooting range seems to be main attraction as the crowd is huge with long queues. It will take an hour plus before you could get your turn. A barrel with 10 bullets to be purchased is also pricy. Tour guides are very good they make the attractions even more dramatic with their explanation.

Saigon Opera House

Opera house
Sights & Landmarks
The Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, also known as the Municipal Theatre of Ho Chi Minh City, is a stunning 19th-century French colonial building that serves as the home to the city's ballet and symphony. Designed by renowned architect Eugene Ferret, this ornate masterpiece was originally constructed in 1897 as a symbol of entertainment for French colonists. The opera house features an elegant facade reminiscent of the Petit Palais in Paris and is located at the beginning of Le Loi Avenue.
Attending the A O Show at the iconic Ho Chi Minh City Opera House was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had in Saigon. The venue itself is stunning — a beautifully preserved French colonial building, elegant yet intimate, right in the heart of the city. The show was nothing short of magical. Through acrobatics, contemporary dance, and live traditional music, it told a wordless yet deeply emotional story — from peaceful village life to the hustle of modern urban Vietnam. The performers were not only skilled but full of soul, using bamboo props and body language to convey meaning with grace and creativity. As a Vietnamese, I felt truly proud to see our cultural identity portrayed so artfully on an international stage. What moved me the most was the audience’s response — endless applause from visitors across the globe. Those claps weren’t just for the show; they were a powerful recognition of the beauty and depth of Vietnamese culture. 🎭 Highlights: – Mesmerizing visual storytelling with no spoken words – Authentic live music and impressive choreography – Intimate atmosphere, perfect lighting and sound – Deep emotional connection, regardless of nationality

was lucky to bump into a performance during the travel so attended it at the night we discovered it. It's a bit old but still beautiful, sounds barriers could be improved though, sometimes you can hear the honking of cars from outside. Seats are cozy too. Overall lovely experience.

Came here in August recently. Impressive from outside. Nice to walk along the street in this area. There are other impressive buildings along the way other than the Independence Palace such as the post office and statue of Ho Chi Minh. Also happened to came across a book street.

It is just ok. I was not impressed maybe because I have seen opera houses such as in Sydney, Budapest and Vienna. The building is beautiful and well maintained but it is very small and it is surrounded by vehicles which it loses its aura. However, I recommend you visit the opera house and especially in the night. The energy is very unique and you feel happy and relaxed. For those who visited bigger operas they will understand what I mean when I say I was not impressed.

Beautiful building in the city central of Saigon. The AO bamboo show is hosting at the Saigon Opera house so you can go see the show and see the inside of the Opera house. The show is very skill and fun to watch. I always see some wedding photos shoot when I go pass the Opera house.

Featuring grand colonial french architecture, the Saigon Opera house is where cultural events take place. This is a functional building and is still regularly used for shows. The facade is beautiful and is a popular spot for photos

We didn’t watch any shows but stopped by to see the place — and it’s beautiful! The exterior and architecture are brilliant, especially at night when it’s all lit up. Definitely worth a quick visit if you’re exploring the city center.
Joseph — Google review
Beautiful architecture. We went to the O show and found it very enjoyable. The performers were exceptionally talented and displayed a wide range of acrobatic skills, dance genres, and talents. The show was only 1 hour but covered so much. Definitely recommend it for anyone that wants to soak up a bit of Vietnamese culture and see the beautiful opera house. I recommend planning to get inside the opera 15-30 min early to walk around and have enough time. We were able to find tickets to a Thursday night show the day before the show, but were not able to get tickets to a same night show. Obviously planning ahead is best, so don’t be like us and miscommunicate who is buying the tickets.

Bitexco Financial Tower, also known as the "roof" of Ho Chi Minh City, is a 68-floor skyscraper located in the heart of District 1. This iconic building offers an observation deck with stunning views of the city and the riverside. Visitors can explore retail shops, dining options, and even a cineplex within its premises.
360 view over Sài Gòn. Definitely worth visit when in this town

This is a nice view of Saigo 360° Day Time up there at the observation deck. Feels like visiting a Singapore Mall. Haidi Lao, Starbucks Reserve, Samsung, AIA and even a Brand Warehouse. There little places for you to sit down at 49th Storey but a cool place for a hot day. There is a buffet at the 4th level that attracts plenty to eat there.

From craning your neck muscles to see where the top of this building is, within seconds you will teleport to up the 48 floors in seconds which the speed will make your eardrums pop. Once you step of the elevator you are greeted with 360 degree views of the sprawling city for as far as the eye can see. Free binoculars provide the ability to see on a street level the happenings in any direction. I glanced in one and witnessed a police officer pulling someone over. Sadly did not see any topless sunbathers on roofs however. You are also provided 1 free bottle of water. A custom it seems in many places here. There is some good history on the city, culture, fashion art and engineering displayed on the walls. Also women working on intricate stick art.

The Skydeck at Bitexco Financial Tower offers nice panoramic views of Ho Chi Minh City, especially around sunset. The space is clean and well-organized, though the ticket price feels a bit high compared to the experience. Still, it’s a good spot for first-time visitors who want to see the city from above.

TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT MY PICTURES, AND JUDGE FOR YOURSELF Imagine coming up to 49'th floor in the evening. I guess you (as well as me) expect to see a lovely nightview over Saigon. Instead the whole place is drowned in heavy spotlights, annoying harsh light that reflects in all the windows. Furthermore there is a souvenirshop in the middle - also in heavy spotlights. And last but not least an exibition of an old cyclo - also in heavy EXTREME spotlight that lights up about 25% of the floor. WHY???? I paid the entrance with ONE purpose alone; and that was to enjoy the night. view. So disappointed. 😒👎🏻

Visiting the Bitexco Financial Tower was something I was looking forward to while in Ho Chi Minh City. The Sky Deck, located on the 49th floor, offers a stunning 360-degree view of the city — a great way to truly appreciate just how vast and dynamic Saigon is. From above, you get uninterrupted panoramic shots of the Saigon River, the bustling streets below, and even a clear view toward Landmark 81 in the distance. There are plenty of photo spots, and I found the glass walls ideal for wide-angle shots. If you’re into cityscape photography, this spot should definitely be on your list. The Sky Deck also has touchscreen panels that provide a quick overview of what you’re looking at, which was a nice touch for orientation. Entry was fairly priced for the experience: Adults pay 200,000 VND, children 100,000 VND, and seniors also get a discounted rate at 130,000 VND (check their official site for updated info). There’s also a café and gift shop at the top for those wanting a drink or souvenir with a view. If you love a skyline or simply want a peaceful break from the busy streets, the Bitexco Sky Deck offers an elegant escape high above the city.

Located in Saigon, the Jade Emperor Pagoda, also known as Chua Phuoc Hai, is a must-visit temple with exquisite carved gilt woodwork and a variety of Taoist and Buddhist deities. The temple's roof is adorned with dragons, birds, and animals. Dedicated to the Jade Emperor, one of the highest deities in Taoism, this pagoda offers a serene atmosphere once you step into its compound.
A sacred, long standing temple deeply respected by the local community. Dedicated to the Jade Emperor, who blesses the people with peace and prosperity. Inside, there’s also a special altar for mothers where many come to sincerely pray for the blessing of a child. This is a special place for those wishing to pray for a child. With true devotion, wishes may be fulfilled. May everyone and every home be blessed with peace, happiness, and harmony.

A really peaceful place. There is no admission fee and you can go in and pray for good health, good luck or any blessings you would like in your life. There are donation boxes available if you’d like to donate to the temple. I could stay here the whole day because it is so peaceful compared to the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City. No photographs were allowed inside the temple, so photos here were taken outside the temple.

The Jade Emperor Pagoda in Vietnam is a beautiful temple dedicated to the Jade Emperor. Photography is not allowed inside, but you can capture pictures outside. Free entry. Visitors are expected to follow a modest dress code, covering shoulders and knees. Free Parking is available within the premises.

Jade Emperor Pagoda was totally different from other pagodas. When I was there it was almost 12PM and it was full of people including tourists from other countries. For Vietnamese, they could go there to pray for love, children and peace. It was a very famous pagoda for that. The pagoda was so...pink, it was coral pink and it was attractive from the outside. In the South of Vietnam, especially in China town, they had a tradition of worshipping the Jade Emperor while in the North, I haven't seen anyone did. The toilet area was outside and quite clean

A small temple in the city centre that really popular with the tour group. There were 2 different tour groups visiting when we arrived. Lots of plants and trees made it feels relaxed!

Came here in August recently. Interesting place but photography is not allowed in the temple building. 1st stop of the day sightseeing. Took a taxi here from the hotel and ended with a water bus ride.

One of the very famous and auspicious Pagoda among Buddhist. A must to visit when you are in Ho Chi Minh.
Ramesh M — Google review
At the recommendation of a local, I visited the temple in search of a serene environment for meditation and quiet contemplation. Drawn by its religious significance, I hoped to find a tranquil space for reflection. Instead, I encountered a bustling tourist attraction that seemed to prioritize commercial appeal over spiritual depth. Tour guides loudly explained the site to groups, while the constant hum of traffic outside disrupted any sense of calm. The temple, adorned with iconographic artwork, felt more like a venue for revenue generation than a sacred place of worship. Admittedly, I had not researched the temple's history before my visit, so it’s possible I missed key aspects of its significance. However, the overall atmosphere left me questioning the balance between preserving cultural heritage and catering to tourism.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Ho Chi Minh City, the Fine Arts Museum stands as a testament to both artistic expression and architectural beauty. This stunning three-story structure, showcasing an art-deco style infused with Asian and European influences, is not just a museum but a work of art in itself. With over 20,000 pieces on display—including ancient Champa sculptures and contemporary works—visitors can immerse themselves in Vietnam's rich art history.
The Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts is a hidden gem in the heart of Saigon. Housed in a beautiful French colonial building, the museum offers a peaceful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. Pros: • The architecture is stunning, with a blend of French and Chinese influences. • The museum houses a diverse collection of over 20,000 artworks, including ancient Champa sculptures, lacquer paintings, and contemporary pieces. • The layout is spacious, allowing for a leisurely exploration of the exhibits. • The entrance fee is very affordable, making it accessible to all. Cons: • Some areas of the museum lack air conditioning, which can make the visit uncomfortable during hot days. • Not all exhibits have English descriptions, which might be challenging for non-Vietnamese speakers. Overall, it’s a must-visit for art enthusiasts and those interested in Vietnamese culture. The museum provides a unique insight into the country’s artistic heritage and is a great place to spend a few hours.

A visit is worth it just for the buildings. Victorian lifts with round staircases, beautiful tiling on the floors. I would have like more information on the history of these building. Artwork is a mix of paintings, sculpture, ceramics and very limited prints. I was very disappointed that we were chased out of building 2, and we were not able to view the special exhibition. I was taking photos with my handheld camera and was told ‘No camera’ ‘No camera’ which does not make sense as there were people doing full on camera shoots of various woman who were dressed up, and they were allowed??? Besides people were taking photos with their cell phones… Cost VND30 per adult.

The Ho Chi Minh fine arts museum is housed in a couple of grand mansions. The architecture of these two mansions are just beautiful! One even has an elevator with a wooden car. One house has old artworks while the other has new and modern works. Only phone cameras are allowed here.
Richard F — Google review
Pros: Definitely worth a visit and worth the price. Three stunning buildings all full of stunning art and gorgeous architecture. Cons: Full of young Asians taking pictures of themselves pretending to look at the art, standing in front of pieces for 10-20 minutes, which is annoying if you actually are there to appreciate art. Ruins the vibe. Also in the third building a janitor turned off the lights at 16:45 when it should close at 17:00.
Mint C — Google review
This is a fine art museum only showcasing Vietnamese art. There is a lot of art from the struggle but also from beforehand. There is different styles of sculptures in different mediums both inside and outside.a few drawings, lots of water colour, oil and lacquer paintings. Wood and ceramic art can also be found. The museum is lacking in explanations of time periods on the information provided. Many items do not have a year, sometimes a century is given in Roman numerals? We were disappointed to be chased out of building number 2 upon entry. Apparently it is closed to visitors, we didn’t see any signs though. We were hoping to see the advertised ‘Special Exhibition’. If we had known it was closed we probably wouldn’t have gone. The buildings themselves are beautiful, I would have liked to have learned more about the actual buildings history, but nothing was available beside”the buildings were built in the early twentieth century “ and “the architecture is a combination of European and Asian styles’. Cost is VND30 per adult. Some rooms have fans, air-con is weak in others. There are toilets.

Showcased various arts and sculptures from past artists in Vietnam. Went there on 19 August morning, was not a lot of visitors then. Some artworks were unsuitable for the super young. There are no souvenir shops for me to purchase items, but got vending machine for visitors to purchase drinks.

A good way to see the history of the city through art. First building contained artworks from various artists depicting various aspects of the history and the culture of the country. Second building showcases special exhibition. At the time it was about the upcoming 80th anniversary so it was a show about paintings of the president HCM. Third building contained a collection of furniture, ceramic work, and wood work. Another visitor told us someone had died in that building. Other notes: you can take photos with phone but not with a camera. Tickets : 30k per person

I haven't enjoyed an art museum quite this much in a while. Their collections are just beautiful and I'm particularly impressed by the realist paintings. They have 3 buildings and honestly I would've been satisfied with just the 3-storied first building so I got more than I expected! For a 30000 ticket fee (that was easy to get at the front counter) this is a really great visit!

Independence Palace, also known as Reunification Palace, stands as a significant historical landmark from the Vietnam War era. This architectural gem showcases South Vietnamese modernist design from the 1960s and offers visitors an immersive experience into its storied past. As you wander through its five floors, you'll encounter fascinating sights such as a recreation room and a bunker basement filled with vintage communication devices like phones and radios, alongside tactical maps that tell tales of strategic planning during tumultuous times.
Very good place to visit for a couple of hours. Will always be remembered for the tanks bursting through the gates and the helicopter taking staff ect from the roof during the final day of war. There is enough information not to need an audio guide. Lovely to see all the furniture there so you get a good feel as to how the rooms were used. Entrance fee 80k vnd per adult.

Visiting the Independence Palace was a fascinating experience. Walking through the historic halls and rooms, I could really imagine about the important events that took place there. Addtional, i used to use the audio guide that was a really helpful experience. It gave me clear and detailed explanations, so I could understand the history and meaning behind them. The instructions were easy to follow, It felt like having a personal tour guide with me, and it made the visit more interesting and meaningful.

Excellent tourist experience. The electric car tour gave an overview of the exterior ground and history lessons of the palace ground. Price at 105,000Đ Once inside the side entrance, a guided tour is an extra package for group of 1-15 at 350,000Đ. Even if the group is one person, they charge the same price The basement provided the most unknown and surprise of me.

Visited the Independence Palace in Ho Chi Minh City and it was such a fascinating experience! 🇻🇳✨ The place is full of history and gives you a real sense of the country’s past. Everything is very clean and well preserved, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the visit. It’s not just educational but also really impressive to walk through the different rooms and halls. Definitely a must-see when you’re in Ho Chi Minh City! 🌟
Pedrito F — Google review
Was alright, the palace is nicely preserved but dont expect anything "wow"! Its important part of VN history so its good to see. Just be prepared there is no aircon so its quite warm and humid there.
Tomáš N — Google review
I recently visited Independence Palace, and I must say, the experience was quite memorable. The palace is absolutely huge much bigger than I had expected. It felt like I was walking through a never ending maze of grand halls, historic rooms, and long corridors. After a while, I actually started to feel tired from all the walking! If you’re planning to explore the entire palace, definitely wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to spend a good few hours there. One thing I noticed and something that did affect the experience was that many parts of the palace didn’t have air conditioning. Given how hot and humid the weather was during my visit, it got quite uncomfortable in several sections. Some rooms were noticeably stuffy, and at times I found myself rushing through just to get back to cooler areas. That said, the architecture and historical significance of the palace are undeniable. The design is both elegant and symbolic, and each room seems to hold a story of its own. I especially enjoyed the presidential meeting rooms and the war command center in the basement both were fascinating glimpses into Vietnam’s past. Overall, while the lack of AC in many areas made the visit a bit exhausting, the sheer scale, historical richness, and grandeur of the Independence Palace still made it worth the trip. I’d recommend it, but maybe plan your visit during cooler parts of the day.
Shrey G — Google review
Well presented and well organized. Easy to self-tour without the audio guide. The film in the basement is very informative too. Available in multiple languages. The bunker was the least impressive place.
Joe M — Google review
The Independence Palace is worth a quick visit for its history and architecture, but honestly I don’t think the audio guide is worth buying. There are already plenty of signs and information around, so you can still understand the place without it. It’s definitely a spot filled with history, and you get a sense of the important events that happened here. A good stop if you’re exploring District 1, but I’d recommend just walking around on your own.

The Museum of Ho Chi Minh City is a vast space spanning 1700 square meters, dedicated to preserving and showcasing a wide array of antiques, artifacts, and historical evidence. With 10 rooms housing different collections such as Nature and Archeology, Administrative Saigon, Revolution from 1954 to 1975, and more, the museum offers visitors an immersive journey through the city's rich history. The building itself boasts a unique design that combines classical European style with Asian elements.
I visited the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City on a Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn’t crowded with tourists. Instead, a few couples were there taking wedding photos, adding a charming and romantic atmosphere to my visit. Though the museum may not have an extensive collection to explore, it is still a wonderful place for anyone interested in exploring both the past and present of this vibrant city. It offers valuable insight into the city's rich history and the lives of the people who have shaped it. It's a place that invites reflection, learning, and a deeper understanding of the city itself. Tickets are quite affordable and easy to purchase on-site, but keep in mind that payment is cash only. There’s also a small surcharge if you bring a camera.
Trang V — Google review
Generally a good museum in a beautiful old building, however the building itself needs renovation badly. The stories presented are great but could be executed and shown way better. Another issue is that there are dozens of grooms and brides doing their photo shoots. This in itself is nice, but the sheer number of them conflicts with the museums regular operation. Solution would be separate time slots for visitors and for photo shoots.
István N — Google review
A little classic old time building seem to be very popular for wedding photo and photo shoots as every windows were taken by a full set of professional photographer. The two stories building has contained a lot of information about Vietnam history and present. The money currency room was particularly interesting for me as I find the current money of Vietnam hard to wrap my head around. The hallway entrance and the staircase to the second floor is very beautiful and were the main spot for the wedding photos shoot of multiple couples on the day we visited, so there was a bit of a wait to moved through the building. Overall, a nice building to visit if you have free time.
Penny G — Google review
The Museum of Ho Chi Minh City is a captivating destination that blends rich history, striking architecture, and a deep sense of cultural identity. Housed in a beautifully preserved French colonial building with grand facades, arched windows, and intricate detailing, it’s a visual treat before you even step inside—an ideal subject for wide shots and architectural close-ups. Inside, the museum offers a thoughtfully curated journey through the city’s past, from its early days as a bustling port to its pivotal role in Vietnam’s modern history. Exhibits cover a wide range of themes, including archaeology, trade, revolutionary struggles, and cultural traditions, all presented with informative displays and authentic artifacts. Photographers will find inspiration in both the exhibits and the building’s interior, where high ceilings, tiled floors, and soft natural light create an atmospheric setting. The surrounding gardens add a peaceful touch, offering a pleasant space to relax or frame shots of the building against the greenery. For visitors seeking to understand Ho Chi Minh City’s layered history—and to capture its elegance—the museum delivers both substance and beauty.
Paul P — Google review
Quite disjointed, it’s not always clear how what you’re looking at flows in narrative. It feels more like a backdrop for weddings, graduations, and photo sessions than a museum, and wherever you walk you end up interrupting someone taking pictures. The descriptions are okay, but some objects are mislabelled (like number 4 in the picture below). Worth a quick walk if you’re nearby, but I’ve seen better museums.
Lewis R — Google review
This museum puts an unvarnished shine on the Peoples struggle to be reunited in free in Vietnam. We found the museum to be interesting and worth a dollar and a half. It cost to get in. Strangely, there are many people inside doing their wedding photos which we have to be the unique and interesting place for that activity
David L — Google review
Mixed experience, while it had some interesting historical displays, it's clearly been forgotten and not a priority for the city. Weird how those cringy thirst trap "influencers" kept posing around the curved stairwell for photos. it's a curved stairwell, get over it.
Sal — Google review
My family and I accidentally stumbled upon this museum en route to Notre Dame Cathedral from the Opera House. It is a mid sized museum but it houses important historical exhibits, some military remnants of war like planes and helicopters. What is striking about this place is the interior. It has an exquisitely designed interior influenced by old eurasian stylings. There is a grand staircase where we saw couples dressed up and posing for their pre nuptial photo shoot. There is also a bunker / escape tunnel for visitors to explore. Overall, a great experience for our family. If you plan to head to the Notre Dame Cathedral or the Post Office from the city center, this would be a good stopover. Just be careful of the shady and pushy coconut vendors outside the premises, they will offer their products and once you show interest they will overcharge you.

Asian fusion restaurant
Anan Saigon is a renowned Vietnamese restaurant located in the heart of Saigon, Vietnam. The restaurant features not only delicious street food-inspired dishes but also houses a cocktail bar called Nhau Nhau and a noodle joint named Pot Au Pho. It has received numerous accolades, including being the only MICHELIN one-star restaurant in Saigon and earning a place in Asia's 50 Best Restaurants.
This is the first Michelin star restaurant from HoChiMinh City. Their motto is let the street food be tasted like fine-dining style. And they succeeded it. Especially I liked the Banh Mi, the Cod Fish, and the pigeons. I enjoyed all the menu here. One thing that you might not like is the space. It is a narrow building. So there is not so much of space between the tables. It will be uncomfortable. They use the dill in many dishes, which is an excellent choice. It gathers the layers of the taste variety. I ordered the course menu, but I think the separate ordering will be also great.

the food was simply lovely, the chef was great at playing with texture, the flavor was on point and drinks were perfectly matched too. the restaurant was a bit crowded and noisy but that's what you expect in a casual setting fine dining restaurant where ppl are chatting loud and laughing. staffs were good at introducing the food, and we had a relaxing and cheerful dining experience. would love to visit again.
Desmond N — Google review
A very enjoyable dinner. The restaurant is very vertical with each floor very small but our space felt intimate as we were across from the bar. We very much enjoyed the drinks and small plates which were very much Vietnamese flavors but different dishes. For a Michelin starred restaurant we thought the price was very reasonable at about 2.4 mln for two of us including cocktails.
Steve H — Google review
One of the best one star Michelin star experiences. We ordered the 12 course tasting menu. I love the story and the inspirations behind each dish. Each course is about 1-2 bites. It gets heavier toward the end so that you feel full. My favorite is salmon cracker, and my husband was the foigras spring roll. It ended with fish sauce ice cream - was really good. Since I don’t eat beef, I got replacement dishes like shrimp pork taco in place of the beef soup. It was delicious too. The servers changed utensil for each dish and explained every dish in great detail. Service was very attentive. Place was small but classy. It’s in the middle of a narrow local food street.
Nancy S — Google review
As a 1 Star restaurant I anticipated more, the restaurant is really busy and fully booked, it quickly got really loud and crowded, the table are set really close side by side I can hear everything the next table was talking The staff serving 90 degrees hot tea in a whiskey cup(two times) is really surprising and confusing since they already have small tea cups at the end of the course The food was decent and holds up to the value at this price point. I would recommend coming with a bunch of friends and have a casual dinner since the vibe is unique, but the city has other restaurants that offer a better fine dining experience with this price tag.
K J — Google review
Full of surprises. The passionate chef truly brought Vietnam’s soul to life in every bite, weaving creative fusion magic that blended North-to-South flavors with unexpected twists—like that mind-blowing fish sauce ice cream that shouldn’t work but absolutely does. The wine pairings were spot-on, elevating each course without overpowering the bold, innovative dishes. Service was warm and attentive, making us feel right at home in the casual vibe of the place—cozy lighting, easy chatter, no stuffy pretensions. We loved every second; can’t wait to go back!
Beca C — Google review
Probably one of the best restaurants in Ho Chi Minh city. It serves Vietnamese oriented food with a twist. Service is friendly without being too formal. Food is presented in bite sized portions. The wine pairing can be improved a bit but was otherwise great. Only one issue detracts that is the restaurant is quite cramped.

This restaurant was amazing! The dishes were so flavourful. Between two people we ordered 6 dishes they are good sharing size but we eat a lot and wanted to try everything 🤭 get the fried lemongrass tofu, and pork caramelised in clay pot !! The BEST wine menu, so many high quality French wines, absolutely perfect - you must try here !!

Lovely Vietnamese food with some interesting menu choices! The little fish pond and garden make the place feel homey! We had stream rice, fried fish, braised pork with egg, and some spring roll to share between 3 people. The drinks come with morning glory stem as a straw, nice idea but a little hard to drink 😂 The lemongrass fried fish tasted really fresh and yummy. The braised pork was a bit salty but go well with rice!

Well it's more of a tourist showcase of Vietnamese cuisine. Very homely cooking with a warm and inviting setting. Prices are not cheap by local standards. Food is generally good but my advice is no squid. Squid use here is the frozen variant which lose the nature sweetness and favours. My plate of grill squid is slightly better in quality but lacks the sufficient amount of spices and salt to bring out it's favour. The brine with pork is very well done that bring out south east Asia granny cooking favour. Wok work is good too for the fried rice. Their dessert special is their home made yogurt, which is fresh and good. Come here for a wholesome experience and vides. It's worth it for the whole package in my opinion.

Excellent food and service There’s an English menu - it’s quite extensive. They have some really unusual dishes, not the usual Vietnamese dishes. They have so many vegetables on the menu and vegetarian dishes. There’s something for everyone. You must try the crispy rice (takes 45 mins) and the flower dishes. Finish with a herb jelly, an unusual and interesting taste.

Propaganda Vietnamese Bistro offers a taste of authentic Saigon street food without the typical concerns of plastic utensils, traffic fumes, and sanitation. The restaurant has made its way from the heart of Saigon to Manila, offering a menu that includes diverse dishes and quality meat in their Pho. Despite its appearance from the outside, which may suggest a focus on Western dishes and wine, the bistro surprises visitors with locally sourced design elements and architecture created by Vietnamese artisans.
Lunch was included here as part of our all day tour. Modern, cool and fresh decor inside. Seems to cater to more western customers. Our food overall was pretty good. Our meal came with a veggie wrap roll. The vermicelli with pork was fresh and tasty. Lunch service was busy. Service was not bad.

The food was really good, but the price is on the higher side. The seats were okay, but can get a back ache sitting for longer than an hour (maybe it’s intended for a quicker turnaround) This is the second time I visited this restaurant (the first time was over 5 years ago.) The food quality is still as good as I remember.

Went here for dinner while in HCMC and it was a solid place with nice staff. The food was very good with the best grilled chicken with rice I ate in Vietnam. The mango with sticky rice desert is a must try. The staff was ver attentive as well. Prices were ok and they serve cold beer in frozen glasses which is exactly what you need in a hot day. So if you are looking for a solid place to eat this is a good option while in HCMC.
Carlos F — Google review
I loved the concept of this restaurant, bold and expressive. The colorful interior is beautiful and definitely a feast for the eyes. I ordered a bowl of chicken pho along with fresh spring rolls and iced tea. The pho was good and came in a generous serving - definitely worth the price. I ended up taking away my spring rolls since the pho alone was already filling. The iced tea was okay, similar to the kind that’s usually served complimentary.
Bea B — Google review
The interior is clean, stylish, and super cute, but there are a few downsides. The menu is a bit limited, and it’s not really a place where you can relax for long. We were enjoying dinner with some beer and cocktails, but the staff kept prompting us to clear our plates, which made it hard to take our time. The food was actually delicious, so it’s a shame the experience felt rushed. They do have a wide variety of cocktails though, so it might be better as a second stop for drinks or a quick lunch.
Amashogun — Google review
The food was amazing!!! We ordered the chicken spring rolls, the grilled eggplant, the pulled pork banh mi, the three color fried rice with chicken and egg and the passion fruit mousse. Everything was delicious, would definitely recommend. Staff is super friendly and the restaurant is decorated beautifully. The only comment I would have is the chairs, very uncomfortable.

We were looking for a more authentic food experience hence, it felt like a tourist trap. But it is very hygienic, food and drinks are decent. Non-cocktail options are limited. Good for a photo op. Service was a bit tardy and the wait staff can do better to recommend dishes to tourists.

The restaurant prides itself on serving authentic Vietnamese cuisine made with natural ingredients and without MSG. Its stylish decor combines contemporary simplicity with vintage elements, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners.
Marvellous Vietnamese flavour. Each dish is made of fresh ingredients and uniquely-flavoured. A good place to try all sorts of Vietnamese dishes in one seating. Four dishes between two people are good enough given the portion size. Reasonably-priced. It was crowded with locals and foreigners alike. Come hungry. You won't regret it.

I made a reservation online and luckily I did. They were full house. The dishes we ordered were good for 3-4 pax shares. Portions were not that big. Good to order many different dishes to try. Generally, we like all dishes. There was a long wait in between dishes. Other than that, no complaints. Service was good.

I am writing this review to highly commend the food and the staff at this restaurant. The meal was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable throughout our visit. However, I feel compelled to mention an incident I witnessed yesterday that was deeply unfair to the business. Another party of two guests, after having completely finished their meals and consumed other beverages, began to loudly and aggressively complain because the restaurant was temporarily out of still water. They created a disruptive public scene, falsely claiming that the lack of water ruined their entire experience—an experience they had otherwise fully consumed and enjoyed. It was a clear and dishonest attempt to bully the staff into getting a discount they did not deserve. To my dismay, the management or staff, likely in an effort to de-escalate the situation and maintain a peaceful environment for other diners, felt pressured to offer them a significant discount (I believe it was 50%). While I understand the need for customer service, it was frustrating to see such bad-faith behavior rewarded. These individuals essentially dined and dashed in a more manipulative way. I hope this review serves as a record against such predatory actions. This restaurant deserves full payment for their fantastic food and service, not to be strong-armed by unscrupulous patrons. We will definitely be back for the amazing food, and we truly hope the management finds ways to protect themselves from such blatant attempts at fraud in the future.

Highly recommend this restaurant! This Viet Nam restaurant is actually the talk of the town so we decided to give it a shot. The mains were superb with lots of flavors. I was so delighted to enjoy the local cuisine of Viet Nam. Moreover, the service was speedy as we had the reservation in advance. However, they didn’t seem so professional.

Of all places I've eaten in Saigon on this trip, Quan Bui has by far the greatest range of tasty food from across the country. Thu was a delightful host, enhancing the already nostalgic vibe of the restaurant, which is tastefully decorated with artwork, silk lanterns, and artifacts. Will definitely be back for some more. Highly recommended!...

Very popular restaurant, we were seated upstairs and it was full. The Vietnamese local dishes like the chicken soup and some veggies I had here were very different from what I had for the rest of my trip. It was a very interesting experience.

Vietnam House Restaurant, located on Dong Khoi Street in Ho Chi Minh City, is the brainchild of celebrity chef Luke Nguyen. The restaurant offers a contemporary take on traditional Vietnamese cuisine, with set lunch and dinner menus as well as an extensive a la carte selection showcasing Luke's creativity. Diners can expect elevated interpretations of classic dishes such as cha gio and banh xeo.
It’s Vietnamese-Western style with various food choices. Foods have beautiful presentation. I ordered tamarind, pineapple seafood soup and twice cooked duck breast with plum sauce which are flavorful, especially the soup is very refreshing. The day I went was their celebration so they served welcome drink and appetizer. Service is excellent.

Tasty yet overpriced We, 2 adults and 2 teenagers, had a full dinner experience. Came on the basis of the Michelin recommendation, and thus we expected quite a high level. Restaurant can be noisy, we experienced a large family sitting next to us and we could hardly keep a conversation. It's how it is sometimes. Service was as expected, or a bit below given the price level. Food was great, but can not be justified compared to the price and similar restaurants we tried in HCMC. The building and interior is great and deserves praise, even though acoustics is not perfect.

Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! There’s something quietly thrilling about being an Asian tourist in District 1 – where Vietnamese fusion doesn’t just nod to tradition, it riffs on it like jazz. These restaurants feel like home rewritten with a modern flourish, each dish strumming chords of heritage and nostalgia in unexpected ways. Things open with a textural bang, a spring roll that’s plumped with crab and tiger shrimp that hum with a sea-born sweetness, and grounded with wood ear mushrooms, carrots, a touch of creamy taro. The intricately light shell is fried to a golden crisp that shatters like thin ice. Dip it in the iconic spicy fish sauce that hits all the right notes – sweetness, heat and enough umami to keep you reaching back for more. Perhaps my favourite, the black cod is pan-seared until its skin sings with a smoky char, and the flesh beneath falls apart in buttery flakes. First, enjoy its subtle sweetness and pure ocean aromas. Then, layer on the tomato dill sauce: bright, tangy, herbaceous, like Vietnamese sour soup distilled into a single elegant dip. It’s finished with fried shallots curled like confetti and roasted onion wedge, and flanked with a sauté of Tonkin flowers kissed with citrus from orange zest and juice. Each bite simply makes you want to eat more. But just when you think you've crowned your favourite, the garoupa fille struts in. Gently steamed inside a banana leaf, it arrives impossible tender, which rivals the delicate texture of the cod. Its fatty skin melts with ease like butter, infused with a deep, savory XO sauce touched with the sweetness of scallop and cured seafood, elevating it to luxe status. Then, the crunchy dragon beans were perfumed with garlic, their texture unfamiliar but instantly lovable. Bonus points for the dipping sauce, thoughtfully served on the side, as if the kitchen knew exactly who I was: a shameless, unrepentant dipper

Visiting from Australia, I know Chef Luke Nguyen has a reputation for amazing Vietnamese food. I had the set menu and it was delicious. It was a great way to end my holiday in Vietnam. Not only is the food amazing, the staff are very polite and attentive. The drinks were amazing too. Highly recommend!!!

Had dinner here, very classy place in busy HCMC (lovely interior and furnishings, the coffered ceiling and stained glass panels). Large menu selection. We ordered the soft shell crab, abalone appetiser, morning glory, pork ribs, lotus wrapped fish and dessert tofu. All were very good. I especially like how tasty they cook vegetables here

Hoa Túc Saigon

Vietnamese restaurant
Hoa Tuc Saigon, which means "opium poppy," is a serene and charming restaurant tucked away near the Saigon Opera House. The establishment offers a peaceful retreat from the city's lively atmosphere, featuring lush greenery, a Paris Metro-inspired front patio, an intimate outdoor dining space, and an elegant air-conditioned dining area. Since its opening in 2008, Hoa Tuc has been known for its innovative approach to Vietnamese cuisine.
This restaurant features a classic, vintage-inspired style that gives off an elegant and nostalgic vibe. The overall ambiance is decent—comfortable enough for a meal—but it can get quite noisy when the place is crowded, which might affect your dining experience if you prefer a quieter setting. The majority of the customers here are foreigners, and the menu clearly reflects that. While the dishes are based on traditional Vietnamese cuisine, the flavors have been noticeably adjusted to cater to international palates. As a result, don't expect bold or authentic Vietnamese seasoning if you're looking for that. The presentation and service follow a fine dining approach, with an emphasis on aesthetics and a more refined experience. However, this also comes with a higher price tag. Compared to local eateries targeting Vietnamese customers, the prices here are quite steep. All in all, it’s an acceptable place, especially if you’re a foreigner wanting to enjoy a gentler introduction to Vietnamese food in a more upscale setting. But if you're a local, I would recommend exploring other options that are more affordable and stay true to the Vietnamese flavor profile.

It’s in the fancy part of town - across the street of park Hyatt hotel saigon. There’s outdoor and indoor seatings. We didn’t make any reservations, and ended up seated outside. There was already a crowd around 6ish. Overall, they offer an elaborate menu. We had snapper with mango sauce, star fruit soup, crispy prawn spring roll and an avocado smoothie to drink. All good. Tasty, and the portion is just nice for 2-3 pax. We also ordered their famous flan for dessert. Tasted great! Will be back if I’m in a mood to dress-up!

Hoa Tuc is nicely tucked in a little sort of compound. You walk through a courtyard where you'll see all the different restaurant concepts they've got. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated though I found the seats and tables to be near each other. Anyway the food was good. I had the stuffed snails, clam crackers and soft shell crab. I had fresh coconut juice to go with the food. My favourite dish was the clam crackers. I thought the crab dish wasn't crabby enough though I did like the passion fruit sauce.

We came on the premise that it's recommended in the Michelin guide, and it surely did not disappoint. Service is sublime and sufficient according to the place. Drinks are truly made to impress. Food is absolute incredible compared to prices and we had the best spring-rolls in our life. Our only regret is that we didn't go here every evening in HCMC. PS! Can be a bit difficult to find if you use google maps so make sure you are on the right side of the block.

Cool spot with great outdoor vibe in a secluded little square. It gets quite full so booking is advised or go later in the evening. Food is well presented and tasty but portions are small for the price you pay. With 4 people we had to order 7 dishes (2 appetisers + 5 mains).

I ate well as a vegetarian here. Vegetables are prepared simply and superbly. The stir fried Tonkin Jasmine was a revelation- new to me and so delicious. I came back twice for it. The patio and dining room are attractive although AC inside is much more pleasant.

Quince Saigon is a must-visit culinary destination that offers an intimate and sophisticated dining experience. The restaurant, led by renowned chefs Julien Perraudin and Charlie Jones, prides itself on serving fine dining quality dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Their diverse menu features a fusion of Mediterranean and Asian flavors with delightful seasonal surprises.
Quince is our favourite dining spot in our entire HCM trip! The quality of the dishes were simply outstanding and the customer service we received were top notch. We walked out of Quince feeling extremely satisfied. For sure we will return again! Best dishes we had has to be the octopus leg and the tomahawk steak. The octopus leg was the best I had eaten so far and it was very nicely flavoured. Our group also enjoyed the medium rare tomahawk too! Thanks for the hospitality and hope to return to Quince really soon :)

Food was delicious for the most part! The steak however was just okay. Drinks are also amazing :) Our seat at the sofa (upstairs in Madam Kew) is not very comfortable for eating so might wanna consider that when making a reservation.

I don’t usually write reviews unless I really feel it’s necessary.Visited Quince Saigon on my first trip to Ho Chi Minh City after seeing many positive reviews online, so I thought I should give it a try. So I made an advance booking via Google. However, after trying their dishes, I honestly think the food isn’t that great. It feels overrated and slightly overpriced. I ordered the following: Acqua Panna (750ml), Rebellion (cocktail), Cappuccino (which tasted quite bad, though I don’t blame them since it’s not a coffee shop), Blego Cherry(beer) , BBQ Octopus, Hokkaido Tomatoes, BBQ French Pigeon (half), 200g Shimo Bavette, and Duck Breast Mostarda. The best dishes were the Hokkaido Tomatoes and BBQ Octopus , I’d rate them 4/5. The rest would be around 2–3/5. Unfortunately, the duck breast and pigeon, which are supposedly their signature dishes, were disappointing. I’ve had much better versions of these at other restaurants. All in all, it’s a one time experience for me .I wouldn’t come back for a second visit. :(

國偉畢 — Google review
Our client wanted an elegant dinner for his last night in Saigon and we decided to go to La Villa, to which we had never been before. While La Villa's excellent reputation is common knowledge, its high-end French cuisine comes at prices one would expect in a major U.S. or European city...as in WAYYYYYY more expensive than virtually any other restaurant in Vietnam. Four of us dined there last night and the experience was, in a word, sublime. Located in a beautiful colonial French villa in District Two, you pass a beautiful courtyard to enter into a grand dining room with a magnificent staircase, stunning decor, and impeccable service. Since the client was leaving on an early flight today, the intriguing Set Menus were not an option, but instead went a la cart, ordering appetizers and a main. Before the appetizers came, we were treated to a sequence of canapes and amuse bouches, all original, beautiful, and delicious. A delicate shrimp tartare was followed by an chilled tomato gazpacho topped with a little scoop of basil sorbet. But the big winner was the "Micro Burger" (see photo), a delightful little beef burger resting on a bed tiny grilled onions and snuggled into a tiny little brioche bun...we're talking about a 1 square inch masterpiece with the flavor profile somewhere between a classic Castle burger and Robuchon's Le Burger (sans the fois gras.) Serious stuff. The appetizers continued to impress and my Hokkaido Scallop carpaccio topped with a perfectly seared fois gras was superb. But next time, I'm ordering the Irish Crab and Osetra caviar appetizer my partner ordered...absolutely the most original, delicious, and decadent seafood appetizer I may have ever tasted (they fly the live crabs in from Ireland!) The briny bursts of the Osetra eggs punctuate the crisp, clean, delicate flavor of the Irish crabmeat. Appetizers were followed by a refreshing palate cleanser consisting of home made kumquat sorbet floating in a small pool of white rum...a deconstructed daiquiri of sorts (I know this because I am Cuban (-; ) By the time the entrees arrived, we were already quite satisfied from all the small bits and appetizers but they too did not disappoint: the Black Angus tenderloin was perfectly executed, the Satsuma wagyu melt-in-your-mouth, and my duck - tournedos of Cannette de la Dombes, as authentic as it gets. (We skipped the desserts but they brought us an assortment of macaroons and other sweets.) With two glasses of white wine and two vodka martinis - well, two HALF martinis because they are consistently dinky in this part of the world - the total bill for the four of us came to a jaw-dropping U.S. $600 - roughly twice the average monthly paycheck in Vietnam. La Villa, is, accordingly, a luxury for special occasions but the restaurant delivers an extraordinary French culinary experience equal or superior to the best I've had in France. As we left, Chef Thierry scrambled out from the kitchen to greet us and asked us if we enjoyed our evening, which we enthusiastically confirmed. Having worked in Saigon for the last 15 years, my belated visit to La Villa (due to my price-based hesitation) was a welcome discovery. Exquisite service, stunning food - both visually and in flavor - and a beautiful ambience make it perhaps the most elegant restaurant in Vietnam. Merci beaucoup, Chef Thierry!

My food rating guide: 2.5/5 ‐-------> Average taste 5/5 ‐--------> Scrumptious! (My comfort food! 🤩) My 2nd visit. By chance I was there 8 years ago and had been wating for the opportunity to return. It was as impressive if not more. Fresh and high quality ingredients. Superlative taste. Individual ingredient taste was pronounced, yet created an excellent symphony of taste when came together. Could literally taste the heart, thought, passion and love of the chef behind the creation. The Alaskan black cod fish (US) in thyme and rosemary butter chanterelles, seashell and beetroot jus emulson, Blue Brittany lobster (FR) riso black truffle, sea urchin jus, and Bood Orange sorbet with Grey Goose vodka (FR) were the creme de la creme in Menu Privilege. The breads and butter were heavenly. The strawberry, pineapple, and apple jam were scrumptious. The Le souffle poire et chocolat 70% was overshadowed by the preceding dishes. It was good per se, but got cloying after a few mouths. The complimentary macaroons, tarts, and éclairs were a mismatch. Appreciate the gesture, but it did ruffle the overall taste sensation. Their wine menu was huge! I got lost in it for about 10 mins 😆 The service was top notch. New set of cutlery for each dish. Crumbs cleaned off the table timely. Warm, friendly, and polite services from the staffs. Love the ambience. Not overly serious for a fine dining setting. Smart casual dress code. It had a warm family/closed friends vibe amid the fine dining ambience. The overall experience was a 4.8/5
Ray S — Google review
Tried the discovery set for two, it was decent overall. The chef’s compliments were a nice touch, and the duck confit stood out as one of the highlights. While the meal was good, there weren’t many dishes that truly impressed or surprised. As for the atmosphere, what you see in the photos and videos is exactly what you get - a small, cozy compound with a simple setup, not much in the way of grandeur. The staff, however, were easily the best part of the experience - friendly, engaging, and professional while keeping things light and fun. All things considered, for the price point, it’s a bit hard to recommend - especially when restaurants like Truffle at Landmark 81 offer a more elevated dining experience for around the same cost. Still, if you’re after a quiet and intimate spot with good food and great service, this place is worth a visit.

When indulgence must be guaranteed, there’s only one address: La Villa. Tucked away in a serene garden oasis, La Villa offers not just a dinner, but a curated experience. From the soft glow of poolside lights to the crisp elegance of every plate, this is where precision meets poetry. The Spring Seasonal Menu is an ode to seasonal creativity and technical finesse. The amuse-bouches set the tone with playful elegance. The spinach choux was light and savory, a perfect contrast to the creamy, briny amuse served in a glass sphere. Among the early highlights, the crudo of calamari & kinmedai stood out boldly, peppery, fresh, and full of energy in each bite. It was both delicate and invigorating. Then came one exquisite course after another: • The foie gras and quail tortellini in rich ginger consommé was pure silk. • The Saint-Brieuc scallop skewer with fresh verbena green sauce was bright and herbaceous. • The lobster with morel and cherry was a visual and sensory masterpiece, the shellfish jus infused with cherry offering depth without overpowering. • A pause came with the violet blossom sorbet—fragrant, palate-cleansing, and strikingly beautiful. • The New Zealand lamb ribeye was cooked to perfection, paired with a bold jus and supported by a whisper of liver mousse and tender spring vegetables. Even the transition into dessert carried elegance the strawberry & rhubarb millefeuille was thoughtful and seasonal, but more importantly, it arrived with a birthday candle and handwritten note for Mimi. Because La Villa doesn’t just serve dinner: they honor moments. When excellence is the only acceptable outcome, La Villa is the only answer. Every bite is a promise kept.

When I first wlaked in, i thought i walked into a chateau somewhere in france or something. Gorgeous. Although I was shorts and disrespectfully underdressed for this foundation, they still welcomed us with greatest warmth and hospitality. Food is right on. Yes, everything sure is not cheap in VN standard but humbly can suggest that you get more what you paid for here. Highlight for me was the lobster rizo which was just cooked perfectly and boasts sweetness and savoriness from lobster all the way. The only suggestion i would like to give is to invest in some wine glasses

Thierry Mounon’s Four Seasons At La Villa … I’m fortunate enough to have now experienced my 4th of the signature seasonal menus at La Villa. Common dimensions of them all include thoughtful souring of world class, rare proteins prepared with classic culinary techniques that elevate the natural characteristics of the ingredients. In a broader sense, the table is always set impeccably thru a sublime hospitality quotient while wine parings typically with an Alsatian|Rhone accent drizzle decadence all over this 13-course epic epicurean experience. This time, these 5 dishes were especially delightful and kudos to Kaviari caviar who’ve been the house caviar at La Villa ever since they launched in Vietnam some 10 years ago. Le Panini – Morteau sausage, Tasmanian smoked salmon & wildflower tome with Kristal Kaviari caviar. Obsiblue prawn flambeed avec pastis Henri Bardouin soft boiled egg with oscietra Kaviari caviar, Vaucluse asparagus cream and asparagus & noir de bigorre emulsion. We had such a lovely visit! The hot cappuccinos were incredible—creamy, perfectly balanced, and just the right strength of coffee without any bitterness. We also tried their cieche (a savory pastry), which came beautifully presented with a surprisingly delicious chocolate sauce—our first time tasting savory chocolate like this, and we loved it! And don’t miss the double chocolate cookies—they warmed them up for us and wow… perfectly buttery, mild, yet deeply rich in chocolate flavor. A must-stop spot for chocolate lovers in Saigon!

Had a really nice experience overall. Even though the immigration queue was quite long, everything was organized efficiently, and the staff handled the crowd with patience and professionalism. Their friendly attitude made the wait much easier. Another plus point was the convenience of getting a local SIM card — there were several dealers available at different spots, so it was quick and hassle-free to purchase a Vietnam SIM card right after arrival.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City is the busiest and largest airport in Vietnam. It serves as a major hub for both domestic and international flights. It is very crowded. Long queues for the airline check-in and security check. You have to remove your shoes too for the security check. Come at least 3 to 4 hours before your flight to make sure you do not miss it. Luggage storage available outside the international arrival hall, between Pillar 13 and 14, beside Burger King. 27,000VND per hour, 270,000VND for 10 to 24 hours.

I’ve recently had some challenging experiences traveling through Vietnam as an Indian tourist, and I’d like to share them constructively in the hope that things can improve for everyone. While Vietnam actively promotes itself as a welcoming tourist destination, the reality at the airports often falls short of expectations. Immigration queues can take 2–3 hours even during off-peak times, boarding-pass counters move very slowly, and traffic management around the airports remains chaotic. For international flights, arriving 5 hours early is unfortunately not an exaggeration—it’s often necessary. These operational issues create a great deal of stress for all passengers, regardless of nationality. At the same time, I must admit that some Indian travelers contribute to the negative perception. Occasionally, a few individuals disregard queues, speak loudly, or argue with staff, and these isolated incidents unfairly color how the entire group is viewed. As Indians, we often feel embarrassed when the actions of a small minority reflect poorly on the whole community abroad. On the Vietnamese side, I’ve noticed that security and immigration staff sometimes appear more lenient toward Western tourist, which can feel discriminatory to travelers from South Asia. A more consistent and respectful approach toward every nationality would go a long way in improving the experience. Both sides have room for improvement: Vietnamese authorities could streamline airport processes and train staff to treat all visitors equally, while we Indian travelers should be more mindful of local rules and courteous in public spaces. Only then can tourism in Vietnam truly live up to its warm and hospitable reputation. I still believe Vietnam has incredible beauty and culture to offer. With better systems and a little more understanding from visitors, it can become a much more enjoyable destination for everyone.

Nice airport and easy to get e hailing car like Grab to the hotel. It’s just outside the arrival gate. And as for the departures, it is recommended to come very early as the lines are very long. Too many people lining up at the immigration For bag wrapping, you can find a lot at the departure entrance

I arrived today at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on a flight from Singapore. I was last in Vietnam in 1995. The queue to the immigration counters was extremely long. It took me an hour. Also, I wished that the signage to the taxi stand was more prominently displayed and more organised and without the somewhat harassing touts. Otherwise, the airport was not bad.

A small airport with limited seating inside. Customs clearance is notably slow, even when using the express queue where you have to pay a top-up. Food and beverages in the check-in area are priced in USD and is much more expensive than expected, reminiscent of a tourist trap. Some restaurant staff actively solicit customers near the dining area, which is quite intrusive. Overall, the airport has considerable room for improvement before it can be considered satisfactory.

The line up was so long after a long flight. No water fountain at the airport, customs have their most arrogant faces on - not welcoming atmosphere that you should treat the tourists. Also the locals keep pushing you and try to butt in lines. Honestly, Vietnam is a beautiful country, hopefully the government will do something to improve the experiences overall.love vn
