I can't believe I hadn't visited CJ's sooner! This was an exceptional first experience. The breakfast was great and very filling. The staff and service were amazing—truly attentive and professional. I also appreciated the pleasant atmosphere; the ambiance and interior design are solid. Must-Try Dish: Chicken and Waffles I highly recommend the Chicken and Waffles! It's delicious, satisfying, and comes with a free coffee and juice, which is a fantastic bonus. Overall: A perfect breakfast spot!

The place is nice, the service weeeuuhh top notch. I loved the food though the fries were not as good as I expected. The chicken was nicely done and delicious. The sauces mouth watering. The cucumber mojito was the real deal. Please try and serve hot food because the food my friends and I had was not hot.

I’ve never seen a coffee shop where you order something and they bring you something else — and even worse, they try to make you drink it when you don’t want it. I ordered a cappuccino with a small cup and two shots, but they gave me a cappuccino with a small cup and only one shot, and they wanted me to drink it as if it was fine. That’s really strange! When I stopped and talked to them, they just said “oh, okay, we’ll make it,” but the problem is: why didn’t they do it right the first time? The service was very poor, and the staff’s attitude was extremely bad.

Amazing breakfast options. Good service. They didn't let us sit upstairs (said they open the space after midday) Brought us one pancake 🥞 and we saw someone else get two for the same option.

This place is a true gem. CJ’s never disappoints, the food at the Koinange Street branch is a solid 10/10. Portions are generous, flavors are spot on, and the menu spoils you for choice. I absolutely loved this location! The atmosphere was excellent—one of the most peaceful and beautifully designed spaces I've ever been in, complete with lovely decor and delightful birthday singing. The service was also commendable. While the food was just okay and not the best I've had, I would definitely return. My only suggestion would be to consider the portion sizes for breakfast, as they felt a bit small for the price. Overall, a great experience!

We had an outstanding dining experience at The Talisman Restaurant. Our group of eight was extremely well looked after — the service was exceptional from start to finish. Beautiful and delicious! They also let us stay late to chat and take photos. It is huge and open air, with a lovely safari/desert chic decor with lots of cozy nooks. Bring a sweater in case the night is chilly. We were there in late October.

Talisman in Nairobi is a gem — warm ambience with a cozy fire and pet-friendly charm. The spinach & feta samosas were crisp and delicious, the farm-to-table salad fresh and vibrant, and the chicken in lemon zest and mushroom sauce with a whiskey savour was perfectly balanced and flavorful. Oh my god. My partner and I went here multiple times while we were in Nairobi together. Beautiful resteraunt, incredible food and drinks. I dream about this place. We have been in this gorgeous restaurant tonight, Monday. You can enjoy the seafood in different versions (stew, grilled). Everything is amazing and tasty and very good cooked. We had a little situation with the dessert and the chef (I think Mako), came and explained us everything. All the staff are very nice, since the security man, the girl who gave us the table or the supervisor who help us as well with the tips. Especial mention too to our waiter who did his job very kindly and helpful, checking if we need anything else. You must try this restaurant in you are in Nairobi.

Fancy Feast...the food and service is impeccable. We sat by the pool on the patio. I had the seafood pasta and Caribbean mixed seafood. Which was so good. there is a lot to choose from. The ambiance of this restraunt is like no other. We visited on our last day in Nairobi Kenya, I recommend going at the beginning of your trip so that you can enjoy the ambiance and cocktails for the poolside full bar. We made a reservation for the Sunday brunch menu and upon arrival the service was amazing from the entrance....the brunch menu had 3 selection and both were bottomless seafood ,one with unlimited cocktails and the other one with unlimited sparkling wine....the portions were massive .....nice aesthetic, nice band,it was just amazing.....we began with sushi ,assorted dumplings, pasta,off the grill,crab then dessert. I really enjoyed the meals and service at mawimbi it was top notch and I'll definitely go back....

Zen garden is one of my favourite restaurants! It’s been me and my family’s go to place for years and the quality of food, drinks and service just keep getting better with each passing year and visit! We always order dumplings, the prawns tempura and wonton to start with. The sushi is to die for and so is their chilli pork with fried rice (they have a variety) or noodles. The atmosphere is great, relaxed and perfect for a weekend afternoon catch up with family or friends. It’s kid friendly too with a playground for the little ones. For dessert do try what they have as they’ve got that right from gelato to different types of cakes for all tastebuds. In short the food and drinks are pure delight for the tastebuds!

Thr chef was kind enough to prepare dishes for us without egg. Service was a bit slow, probably because it was busy but worth waiting. The tiramisu was too good. A very good restaurant! We started with a pot of masala chai, as we arrived before lunch service had begun. The chai was very good, classic indian style. We then had a variety of starters, and would recommend the dan dan chicken, the prawn toast! The portion sizes were also very big, and we couldn't finish everything! Them milkshake was good, but nothing extraordinary. We axtually came back a second time and had some cocktails, which were good. However then we ordered a pot of chai and they just forgot about it. It was around 4pm and we were one of only three tables.

Service could also be more attentive; the waiters didn’t check in after serving, and there was no hostess to guide guests upon arrival, which made the experience feel a bit disorganized.I wouldn’t recommend going there for coffee or dessert.

Zen Garden is such a beautiful place to chill, especially on a Sunday afternoon... The waitress was unfriendly. We arrived and they said they could not serve a single hot drink except for filter coffee: incidentally I don’t drink coffee. We asked if they could just boil water on a pot so we could have tea because it was cold - the waitress refused saying that boiling water takes too long. Suffice to say the only charm of the restaurant is its location.

Atmosphere is incredible, great location for a relaxed brunch (any meal for that matter). The food is good, tasty and filling. The services is ok. I went on a Saturday morning for brunch and the place was busy, so had a long wait first between getting seated and order being taken then between placing order and getting the food. Apart from the long wait, the service was good.

The River Cafe has a great location, tucked just inside the park, it’s a lovely spot to sit and relax. However, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting. The chicken burger was disappointing; the chicken was dry and tough. On the bright side, the fries were great. The eggplant parmigiana was better and had a generous portion. Service was a bit slow, but the staff were friendly. Overall, it’s a nice place for the atmosphere, but the food could use some improvement. Also need to pay park entrance fee to be able to go

River Cafe has been my weekend go to eatery over the course of the past 14 months and has felt like a home away from home for myself and my husband. The food is very tasty (steak and egg breakfasts, burgers and bread and butter pudding 😋), the forest surrounding is wonderful and the service is exceptional. I especially wish to commend Virginia on her excellent customer service, kindness and big smile. She and the whole team at River Cafe will be sorely missed as we leave Nairobi. The waiter was quite unfriendly and seemed uninterested in serving us. When we tried to explain our order, he refused to listen and responded with a dismissive expression. His negative attitude and unfriendly gestures made the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

A friend recommended Pallet Café, and I visited on a quiet Sunday afternoon. It’s a lovely garden space — peaceful, welcoming, and perfect for relaxing over coffee. What makes it stand out is their mission: they train and employ deaf staff, creating an inclusive and respectful environment. The service was warm, and the atmosphere genuinely inspiring. More places like this should exist.

Pallet Café, located along James Gichuru Road, is an inclusive & welcoming Café. The moment you walk in, you can't help but notice the art on the restroom wall. The art mural says interesting things like 'Yoga, Music' and so much more. After the restrooms, you walk through the parking lot, which is a bit limited. It's advised you Uber there. The Café is very well decorated. They have an amazing outdoor sitting area ; a few wooden benches, for the larger groups and a few smaller tables for the smaller groups. Guess what, you have kids/pets? Both are more than welcome at Pallet Café! They have a little playground for your kids, which is super amazing. Come with a poop bag for your pet so that incase they 'Go', you can clear it out. If you can't access a poop bag, you can politely request the staff to help you shovel the deuce. One super amazing thing about this amazing Café is that the waiters & waitresses are deaf. The Menu shows you how to effectively & properly communicate to them. They are extremely kind & attentive. Also, just signal them with your hand and avoid tapping them as that might unintentionally scare them ; just as you would be scared when a random person taps you. I requested for an Iced Dawa & It was really nice. I would like it to have more Ginger though. My friend had their Capuccino and he loved it. The service is top tier. Sometimes it can get crowded and you'll end up sharing a table with someone. This is really interesting because you can meet different people and have engaging conversations with them. The crowd is very diverse. About 92% of the crowd are from different continents and this is very neat. The prices are on the higher side so do come well prepared if you'd like to have a meal & a drink. If you have about KES 2500, you are good to go. Most meals are between KES 1100 and KES 1500. The service is very prompt! I love it! Oscar, my friend's dog had so much fun marking territory and strolling around. Make sure your pet is on a leash, so as not to inconvenience the other patrons. This is an amazing Café. I will definitely be back.

Beautiful dining experience for a great cause!! I love that this company employs the hearing impaired community. Everyone was nice and attentive, the food was great!!! I had the Jane Kado breakfast and my son had the salmon and we loved it. The cafe latte is also really good. The landscape is beautiful and it’s a nice environment to sit and enjoy nature.

The Waffles were soft, crispy and tasty. The barbecue chicken was good too. If you're not a sweet tooth like me, the waffle with chicken is the better option.

As i was doing my city random rounds i came across this place and wondered, why not check out what they have. I was amazed... their waffles are simply awesome, and affordable. Service is also very good, i never got to sample the crêpes but i will definitely do so the next time i will be there.

No not impressed at all, it is a beautiful location and that's basically it, I may be more picky with restaurants like this, especially when paying close to €200 but I'm definitely not being unreasonable. Lovely location though, they get your coat and hang it next to your table, for it not to be handed back to you. The wine selection, just doesn't do it for the food to me, well known names but little connection. The bread is ok, I liked the sticks and the brioche that came with the second portion. The pure butter was a disappointment, some olive oil, vinaigre, herbs or even salt would have made it better. The oysters, not spectacular, badly cut and the smallest I ever had. The gravy sauce didn't do it for me. I didn't want to order steak as it is generally not the most creative dish of the chef, but there was no lamb, so I ordered a rare dry aged steak with side salad. In that case it'll have to be an amazing dish. Unfortunately not here, the steak was sliced, ok if you're unsure what you are preparing, but then just make it look good, this is sloppy. I ordered rare and half of a slice was actually rare. I've fed steak to the dogs before in Uruguay because a steak I ordered care was medium cooked and I would have done it again if there were any around this restaurant, it's a pity to let meat go to waste like this. I ordered chimichurri and got pepper sauce, I could have finished my steak 3 times before I had chimichurri. And it is not only too late, it's also the worst chimichurri I've ever had, it's pure garlic. The caramelised onion was a nice touch, but it was the hard piece of the onion, so if it can't be eaten just leave it out. I didn't like the salad, it had a strong salty dressing that was totally off. Just to make the disappointment complete, I ordered a lava cake to be able to make a point. No eruption, the cake to dry, the ice-cream didn't match. I was basically the only guest, but poured all wine, except for the last bit myself from the chiller. The waiter didn't notice my empty glass. I went to the washroom, no fixed napkin on return. You'll have to get your coat from the hanger yourself. Despite a tip that's half a wage in Kenya I guess the details of treating a guest are not known here. I only blame the owner for this. A restaurant like this is made and broken in details, and to be honest it failed heavily. A three course disappointment completely. I do love the toilet that is near the exit, I had diarrhoea.

We had an afternoon late lunch here with a live performance from Shane which was lovely. The service from Laura was excellent and we got a tour of the restaurant since they reopened. As we both came here when we were younger, we had a feel of the change of atmosphere. The meals were okay, nothing to write home about. The risotto had been marketed as vegan risotto however we had some feta cheese on it which was a bit disappointing. However the gnocchi was super delicious We both felt that we would probably come back for dinner as the terrace felt too formal for a lunch. However if they had garden seating, that would be exciting for brunch/hightea (which is yet to return) Entertainment opts; Shane on sundays from 2 DJ Every friday at highlanders lounge 80s/90s disco night every last friday of the month at the conservatory

Well, well, well. The infamous Lord Erroll certainly lorded it over us with a delightful but, and with all due respect to them, an overpriced menu. Perhaps that explains why it was so empty. I could be wrong but maybe they should reposition their offering and bring down prices by at least 30% because everything including the wine (I double checked the prices outside the restaurant) should not have cost that much. That notwithstanding, the ambience is to die for and the food was certainly delicious.

My friends and i were at brew bistro. We enjoyed our time there upon leaving. As we approached the lift the men started trying to hit on us. One of us said, don’t even trying hitting on these girl they are expensive. We all got into the lift. While in the lift this woman in these pictures started insulting us, and the men assaulted us. They beat us until one of us went to call security. After, security just came and did not help us at all. We demanded to see the cctv of the assault but they became so mean and did not help us at all. The boy is green beat us up very badly as the woman in black called us all sorts of degrading names. This all was because one of us refused their advances and it hurt them so much. As I type this i have marks and my knee is swollen plus my nose is broken. This whole establishment showed us that they don’t care about women who go to this building. There are cctv footages of us being assaulted but they refuse to show us and let these people go scot free. These are their pictures. Two men one woman. It's a tiny gem with an amazing atmosphere. Though it's on the smaller side, the ambiance is really nice and it's accompanied by great staff who are really friendly. I would recommend this place to beer enthusiasts as they brew their own beer but they do have a great drink menu all round for everyone in general.

The place was empty on Sunday midday. I was informed that brunch starts at 4pm. It was disappointing. The music was not good either. Suited for the older generation. I had to leave and look for brunch elsewhere.

The service was outstanding; from the security detail who guided us to the restaurant, to the greeter who welcomed us, the waiteress who waited on us, and the managers who kept checking in on us to see if we were having the best possible time. The unlimited BBQ brunch was incredible too. The Bistro could use a bigger floor space, and the outdoor area could use fans.

Food is wholesome and excellent. Great spot if you want to insulate yourself from the local poverty and hang with just expats. The prices on the food and the surrounding stores reflect that it’s caters to the wealthier crowd. As with most of Kenya, the service is just nowt quite there.

The food is excellent - really one of the best restaurants for me in terms of food as I love café food. The coffee is great too. They have a really lovely salad bar. The food arrives fairly quickly after ordering. However, the service is a big let down. I had to walk up to the counter to ask for service. I requested for my cheque several times. There was no interest whatsoever in asking me how my food was - or at least noticing when I was done eating. It wasn't heaving so what gives. At the end there, one of the employees apologised for the bad service, so there's that. I would love to go back for the food, but it won't be soon as the treatment left me rather perplexed.

Calm and serene atmosphere, I always come here for a slightly late lunch. The salads are amazing.I absolutely love the one with quinoa. They serve healthy food so no potato chips only sweet potato and they're equally as good, if not better! The seating area is open, you can sit outside on the terrace, in the garden or inside(it looks like a lovely sitting room in a cabin somewhere) You can also bring your dogs here! It's inside a lush green area, you almost forget you are in the city. They close early, so perfect for breakfast and lunch, late or otherwise.

A nice sports bar located in Lavington. It's inside the Lavington green mall. It has more of a sports bar vibe than club The main screen is big and nice for watching games, i.e., rugby/football. The food (meat platter) is delicious. The meats are done well, and the portions are good and reasonable. Service is not the fasted but okay.. however, a little bit wanting. Two times I have been there, they served on dirty wine glass with lip marks still. So be on the lookout. There's ample parking at the mall basement.

Great spot to watch premier league games with a large, projector screen. The vibe is great too with a semi outdoor space as well as indoors. It's a bit pricey though, especially the wine. Service wise can be improved. We asked for some order and the servers for some bizarre reason kept forgetting. Tip: write down orders if you don't think you'll remember.

Let me start by saying that this is not a smoke free place. For someone with fragile sinuses, I couldn’t stay there for long. However, when it comes to the food, the meat platter was excellent (especially the sausage). Drinks were good too. Music was good, old school, laid back.

Perfect Cup of Coffee, I had V60 . It was well brewed. If you are a coffee lover. You should try this place .Loved everything. However I couldn’t stay for Long, apparently the wifi is not stable. Maybe because it was wrong timing . Otherwise Perfect to enjoy a good cup of coffee ❤️❤️

Always wanted to try connect coffee and I happened to be in the vicinity so I decided to give it a try. ***Location*** I think the location is accessible, however, unless you know the area, this one is a bit hidden. Half a star for location. ***Atmosphere*** This is clearly for people who like working in coffee shops. I think it is designed with them in mind. If you like getting some work done while having a cup of coffee, you might like it. Strangely, I found the music not conducive for say reading. It is a strange contradiction. Half a star. ***Experience*** I didn't like the service, the menu and it was hard to get a seat unless you sat on the high chairs so I was always on the look out for someone to leave. I got an iced Americano and a pain au chocolat. The coffee comes unsweetened for those who take their coffee sweet. I didn't mind the coffee, but I didn't enjoy the pastry. I spend KES 670. It wasn't a bad experience, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. I also don't know who I would recommend the place to. I had my own WiFi so I can't speak on how good their is, but seeing that almost everyone had a laptop, it might be good. I would give the service, food, menu, cost all together another star.

I was told they are the best and although I havent been to all the highly rated coffee houses in town but I've been to a good number. So I can confirm Connect Coffee is great. I tried both the medium(chemex) and the dark roast (short latte - a type of coffee I have never heard of). And they were both flavourful and aromatic. This is the place to drink coffee in town

The service is great, the waiters are soo friendly, hospitable, and helpful. Enjoyed being around the place. The interiors are relaxing, well-lit and modernly designed. Fancied the strawberry waffles but I got a Croissant which was fresh, light, and delicious. I bought Romeo's coffebeans from there and loved them, they also offered to grind them which was ideal. Loved the pink tea cup which they said, they always offer coffee for females in these pink cups.

Cozy restaurant located less than 10 minutes from the city center. During the day, it is mostly catered for office workers and business people. They accept credit cards which is very convenient for tourists.The foodd was very good, and the portion size is just right. They also have a full non alcoholic drink menu.

Place has a great cool ambience with a touch of cool dim light which enhances to enjoy the good tasty delicious cusins with the touch of some awesome sauces with good aroma & spicy 🔥

Absolutely fantastic food and restaurant experience! This is what I expect from Nairobi in Kenya! I was having a hard time finding good places with good food. Cafe Bistro is a winner! Their Honey Garlic 🍗 🐔 is 🔥🔥🔥!! The sauce was banging! I had another BBQ place that we ate at in CBD that made me sick as a dog so I was scared to try this one but O M G...the sauce was 🔥! I smashed the whole plate. The clear chicken broth soup was very tasty and the Diana Pink Lemonade was also amazing. It didn't have that stupid seltzer water some of these places around town use. It was juice the way it's SUPPOSED to be. Great job Cafe Bistro. You now have a dedicated customer. I will definitely bringing friends and family. The service was great also with a smile. I really, really enjoyed this place.

I enjoyed my brunch here. The food is amazing and the portions are large. For a lover of breakfast like myself seeing the all day breakfast menu put a smile on my face. The service was good and the waiter understood my requests and made good suggestions. It is a restaurant that you can always keep going back to.

Quiet, a great place surrounded by a coffee farm. Had meat lovers pizza which was delicious but only two types of meat. Expected variety. Ann was graceful and amazing in service. Please note they close early on Tuesday and Sunday by 7.30pm. Will come again.

Eclectic but decent decor. Opt for outdoor seating if you can. Indoors the music is too loud. We had reserved ahead and went as a group. Food was decent for most of us but they served me a different dish from what I had ordered.

I visited Shamba Café for the first time during the Artisan Market, and what a wonderful surprise it was. Tucked away in Nairobi, it truly feels like you’ve stepped out of the city—surrounded by nature, peaceful and refreshing. I only had a coffee at the Red Barn this time, then wandered through the vibrant and beautifully curated market. The whole experience was charming and relaxing. I’m definitely planning to come back later this month to try the food!

Enjoyed the food. Delicately made with love is how I felt and fresh ingredients. All teas, meals etc came on time. Wide variety at each meal or snack time. And if you like clean like me, the place is well maintained and clean.

I was here for my birthday lunch and it was really nice. I loved the ambience, very peaceful, lush and the place is Kid and pet friendly as well. We had Pizza(2), cocktails as well as a birthday dessert(Tiramisu). Food was good and I really liked that their Pizza had a super thin crust and the Tiramisu was 👌🏿.The staff were very friendly and had average service; food took 20-30min to prep and waiters were also very willing to help us take pictures. Only had 3 waiters sing a quick happy birthday ( might not be the place for you if you want lots of singing and energy for your birthday cake reveal). They also have a small botanical garden, you can buy african Jewelry, paintings or clothes from vendors who showcase there (I went on Sunday). You can also buy a variety of organic food and products at their shop.

Good intentions, but just missing it in the food area. Very good staff. Roasted beet salad with little beet and hardly dressing. Vegetarian Tapas platter to share was hit and miss, and not enough variety in taste. Desserts also adequate but nothing special.

Atmosphere wise, very spacious and got the Manhattan vibe going. Service was decent, server just didn't seem happy for some reason. Food was very good, undercooked on the sweet potato and I also asked for oat milk for my coffee, I got a cup. Why? I don't need a whole cup and they charged a significant amount for it. Overall very pricey for what you get but a good one off visit.

Artcaffé is a lovely spot for lunch. The menu has plenty of options, from light salads to hearty meals, and everything is fresh and well-prepared. The atmosphere is relaxed, service is quick.

What a wholesome experience. Went in for mothers' day. They had good deals for this special day. A meal + drink + a slice of cake at kes 1990. The architectural design was it. The fries were not aesthetically pleasing but they were tasty. The cajun chicken was my favorite.10/10 minus nothing😍 The place was giving old money. I loved every bit of it. Absolutely loved my visit to Artcaffe Westminster! The ambience is stunning — an ancient Victorian charm from its 1928 build, blended beautifully with a modern café feel. The service was warm and attentive, and the coffee + food were perfection. A must-visit spot for great vibes, amazing bites, and a timeless atmosphere. 🤍

Artcaffé Restaurant, Kenyatta Avenue, is a wonderful café. It's convenient & well located. It's very accessible to locals & visitors as well. It's located on the first floor (Bristish Reference), second floor (American Reference). The staff members are extremely helpful & very kind as well. They have a resident DJ who plays every single Friday evening. He also doubles up as a Producer & Sound Engineer as well. This iconic Kenyan DJ is none other than, Black Jack. Definitely a place to visit with a friend or two. They have enough clean restrooms as well.

Wide selection of a great deal of general and rare /niche items. Definitely worth visiting if you can't find an item any where else. Very friendly staff and well stocked and clean. A big kudos for stocking the widest range of chili sauces I've seen in Nairobi!

Such a lovely experience. The various meals are fresh and sumptuous. Highly recommend them, and you can do your grocery shopping while at it.

If you’re a health nut then this place is for you. They have most of the fruits and vegetables you can think of. If it’s your cheat day, don’t worry, they have assorted delicious ice cream flavors. The staff are also quite helpful and pleasant.

Ordered online. Received smelly, moldy, rancid butter that had clearly been improperly frozen and thawed. Requests for refund ignored. Never again.

The ice cream remains undefeated. I love the multiple options and that each one is still mouth watering. Their services are also good and the prices affordable.

It’s a good ice cream place, a bit tiny though and sometimes you won’t find ice cream cones, the prices are a bit fair, one scoop would cost you ksh150, I had the Oreo flavor and it was sooo good, I loved it! Overall friendly service
