Gerokgak in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Gerokgak, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Gerokgak, in northwest Bali’s Buleleng Regency, is a quieter coastal area known as a base for exploring Menjangan Island and the surrounding coral reefs, which are among Bali’s top diving and snorkeling spots. Parts of West Bali National Park are nearby, offering opportunities for hiking, birdwatching and mangrove/coastal scenery. Villages such as Pemuteran within the district have a more laid-back atmosphere than Bali’s southern resorts, with small-scale accommodations and local eateries. The area also provides access to sea temples and traditional Balinese villages that see fewer tour buses than the island’s major tourist centers.
With favorites like Nusa West Bali Bird Whatching, Gili Putih Sumberkima, and Pemuteran Beach, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Dapoer Chandra and MANTRA SARI RESTO so you can get the best taste of Gerokgak while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

West Bali National Park

National park
West Bali National Park, also known as Bali Barat, is a protected area that spans about 3% of the island's land. It is home to diverse flora and fauna, including the endangered Curik Bali. Independent trekking is not allowed, so visitors need a guide and permit to explore the park's rainforests, mangroves, savannahs, and beaches. The park offers hiking routes with varying difficulty levels and opportunities for outdoor exploration.
You can take motorbike tour for 500k with a guide here. What an experience! The staffs were so nice and I am so sorry that I couldn’t make my promise to send the new map design as I got an accident and lost all of my data during the trip 🥺

This is terrible! It's a scam! Before we even got in, we were approached by someone claiming to be a ticket officer who told us we had to hire a guide for 950,000 IDR to enter. It's absurd! I wouldn't recommend this place at all - they're not transparent. Shut it down!
Ferdynand E — Google review
Decent, quite ugly. You can spot some unique animals.
Patryk — Google review
We went snorkeling at Menjangan Island, which was wonderful. "Lots" of tropical fish, turtles and deer on the beach. (Unfortunately there was litter in and around the jetty area where all the boats stop for lunch.... the National Park should clamp down on this litter and ensure the tourists and guides clean up)...
Ian H — Google review
Very beautiful part of Bali. We did a brilliant trek in the national park, our guide Idris was very knowledgeable of the wildlife and we loved our tour with him. Then took a boat over to Menjangan Island for snorkelling a saw so many fish and turtle! Great day and would recommend getting in touch with Idris if you want a great adventure.

So I rocked up with a driver and the price for a safari for which you had to have a guide was 900000 for 1-2 people but because we only had an hour spare the guy really came down in price to 750k - he jumped in the car and talked for a bit then we got out and saw a wild pig in a puddle and a couple of deer and some black monkeys then we went back. I went on a snorkelling tour from Lovina the next day to the national park waters - it cost 550k including lunch transport from Lovina and snorkelling and of course the boat - we saw the sme animals on the shore - do this instead

I often bring my guests to West Bali National Park, and it’s always an amazing experience. The park is full of wildlife, mangrove forests, and beautiful sea views , perfect for nature lovers who want to see the real Bali. If anyone needs a friendly local driver to visit West Bali National Park or explore the Pemuteran and Banyuwedang area, feel free to contact me — Gede (Get Transfer North West Bali).

Deer Island really does have friendly deer that you can get great pictures with. The snorkelling/diving is great, reefs good with plenty of colour & fish, highly recommend this for a day trip. The weather always seems good here so a good trip for the wet season.

Menjangan Island, located in the West Bali National Park, is a hidden gem for nature enthusiasts. This unspoiled island boasts a rich marine reserve that attracts divers and snorkelers with its phenomenal coral garden. The area is also home to a diverse wildlife population, including Javan deer and Bali Starling. Unlike the bustling tourist spots in Bali, Menjangan offers a tranquil escape with pristine beaches and lush jungles.
When you want to snorkel or dive this is a beautiful place to visit. Just book a tour and have a nice experience. And when you are lucky you may see a sea turtle beside the coral 🪸 where you find real colorful fish.
Kevin V — Google review
Loving every corner of this Island! You could see the view of Mount Raung and Mount Ijen from here. There are also deers living in this Island as Menjangan means Deer. I think the fish here also friendly 😆 there is a group of small fish (10-12 fish) circling me around like more than 10 times when I was snorkeling. They literally followed me until I get back into my boat. The minus is around the Sri Ganesha Temple there are a few of trash. Please do take an action.
Silmi H — Google review
One of best dive side I ever been. There was not or small currents and the visibility was super clear. lees of divers here.
Wening S — Google review
Part of West Bali National Park. On the land, you can find many Menjangans (kind of deers), that is endemic animal of Menjangan Island & West Bali area. We are phohibited to touch and feed them since they are still wild animals and those actions can change their habit and behaviours. Under the water, we can explore beautiful yet healthy corals & see many of sea creatures from sea fans, eels, and macro creatures like nudibranchs, etc.

Pura Sumur Kembar, located near a national park, features two bathing and purification wells for rituals. While it may be off the beaten path, this beautiful temple nestled in the jungle offers a serene atmosphere and a path leading to the beach. Visitors can enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings and observe abundant wildlife. It is considered a holy place rather than a site for worship or commercial activities.

Tirtha Segara Rupek Temple is a hidden gem located near the national park, alongside several other temples. Despite being off the beaten path, it offers a unique and tranquil experience for visitors. The temple provides an opportunity for spiritual rituals such as melukat with holy water by the beach, making it a truly blessed and sacred place. With its spacious parking area and serene surroundings, it's an ideal spot for prayer and reflection.
Its a long way from Denpasar. But the temple awesome When you visit here, you might first “melukat” with holy water beside the beach. And then continue with your ritual. *** Have extra t-shirt is a good idea Bring ransom is always a good idea, we take time enjoy our luch on the beach.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Banyuwedang Hot Springs and it was a unique experience. ♨️🇮🇩 As soon as I arrived I was impressed by the picturesque surroundings - surrounded by lush nature and the soothing sounds of the water.🌴 The hot springs are arranged in different pools and the mineral-rich water is pleasantly warm, perfect for relaxation.😌 The facility is well maintained and the relaxation areas invite you to unwind. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the visit even more enjoyable.⛱️😌 Overall, I can only recommend visiting Banyuwedang Hot Springs - a perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Bali!🙏💯

While on holidays in Bali, the family i was staying with took me to the Hotspring. When I say hot it was really hot. I could only stay in for a brief time. I was enjoyable. My friends ordered us delicious lemon drinks that the staff brought down to us. They were very cheap but so nice and refreshing. There was a creek at the back with a lizard swimming. See photo.

A truly beautiful hot spring, located right next to a temple and a mangrove forest – definitely a special place. It’s by locals, for locals, and it carries the spirit of authentic, original Balinese culture. ❤️🙏🏻
Maria N — Google review
I went here early in the morning (around 6:45 AM) and there were already few people there, most of them were locals. Ticket was affordable (15k), no parking fee, locker is available to keep your stuff (5k), and i can say this hotspring is way better than Toya Devasya in Kintamani, because it was really hot, and great for relaxing. They provide bathroom for you to shower after relaxing in the pool, but don’t know if they have towels for you to rent, because I brought it by myself from my hotel. Definitely will come back here when I’m on the area.
Mpokgaga E — Google review
Would be good after hot spa little bit cool down in cold pool Nice place to relax Paid 45000 for ticket and 5000 for locker I strongly recommend lock everything in locker because monkeys will grab everything 😀
Milano — Google review
Banyuwedang hotspring better to come here to relax after a busy days 😊, well the hospitality is good, but the monkey a little bit aggressive like to steal a food or something. The monkey sometimes appears sometimes not. But I enjoy it here
Annisa H — Google review
While the hot spring has great potential, I think it would be better if the dress code for bathing was more clearly defined. Soaking in the hot spring with clothes on can be a bit unhygienic. Nevertheless, the surroundings are lovely.
Ferdynand E — Google review
There were only 4 locals and when they left I had the pool for myself. There are showers, toilets, lockers (5K) and a restaurant and everything is clean. The water is very hot so you can't stay too long in the water. The price is much more than before. Locals pay 15K and foreigners 45K.

After observing Google and conducting a search on warung, I opted to visit Dapoer Chandra and give it a shot. The portions are generously sized, reasonably priced, and the flavors of the food are exceptional. It's difficult to understand why some individuals would claim that the food is unremarkable and not worth returning for. When tourists visit Bali (or any other destination), they often expect high-end Hilton-like cuisine for just $3.
Love this restaurant. The prices are very affordable and the food is simply brilliant. The portions are huge and all is so so fresh. Staff is very friendly, we will be back many times.

Best restaurant in Pemuteran. Beautiful decoration. User-friendly. Just excellent!! All dishes are delicious, homemade and served in large quantities. The prices are not expensive. The hosts are professional and smiling. NB: a bit noisy because it’s on the side of the road.

Food does not get better than this. By far the best dishes we had during our trip to Indonesia! Writing this review more than half a year after leaving Indonesia, so yes this place is a core memory. Pure perfection. Definitely going back one day to try more of their food. The Ayam Sambal Matah, Mie Goreng, and Terong Balado are especially amazing!!

This is my favorite restaurant in the world currently. Enough said. But I will add that I have visited it repeatedly on two trips to Indonesia. They specialize in vegetable dishes, but there are also excellent chicken dishes on the menu. Prices are great. Service is gracious and kind.
Michael F — Google review
The food wasn’t too bad. Service wasn’t great. Tried to get more drinks and no one to be found after I got my food. So ended up walking to the kitchen to look for staff. The table next to be was feeling the same way when trying to order more drinks. They aren’t attentive. And the place wasn’t even busy so no excuses.

Eco Taste Cafe is a locally-owned and environmentally-conscious restaurant in Pemuteran, offering a variety of vegan options for breakfast and lunch. It's known for its delicious avo toast, smoothie bowls, schnitzel burger, hummus dip, and Sugar Daddy Burrito. The cafe provides a quiet atmosphere with free wifi, making it suitable for getting work done or simply relaxing.
I was here a long time ago, but I will always remember how delicious the tuna bowl was, I recommend everyone to try it. My friends were also happy with their orders. I also really liked the concept of the cafe, that they help the ocean and its inhabitants, there should be more such businesses and conscious people

I dont think this cafe had a best taste for local Indonesian, but I think this really suits the western and vegan people in North Bali area. The service and the whole atmosphere of this place is good to hangout or simply just to fill you stomach with the comfy seat they had. We tried the beef wrap and burger with tasteless for our local tounge, but they sure had a great kind of drinks. I love the coffee and I can order it with a little sugar.

This is the most visited cafe and restaurant by my family. They provide decent food at a reasonable price. All the food we tried was very nice and delicious. I liked the sweet potato chips. They have indoor and outdoor seating areas. There is air conditioning inside. They deliver to your place in the Pemuteran area. You can order with WhatsApp. I strongly recommend this place

We visited this cafe multiple times during our stay. We tried many of the different dishes and they were all great. Lots of vegetarian options. Staff are lovely. The dishes as well as the presentation on the plates was exzellent! In the beginning we were a bit confused as it took a while until we received the starter but then we were amazed by the food and the quality. Thanks a lot - a dinner we were Not expecting so see in pemuteran!

It’s quite surprising to get such decadent (chia seed pudding with coconut milk, mango, grapes, dragonfruit, homemade compote topped with a mint sprig) in a place that’s no more than truck route from Java to the south of Bali. Accommodation and food is cheap here in Pemuteran, but this kind of presentation is quite the bonus. Chia seeds RULE!

Turtle Hatchery Project

The Turtle Hatchery Project in Pemuteran Bay, Bali is a must-visit for those interested in conservation efforts. Operated by dive operators in collaboration with the local community, this project aims to protect sea turtles. Visitors can learn about the process of saving, incubating, and releasing turtle eggs while also having the opportunity to witness or even participate in these activities during the right season. The entrance fee contributes to running the project and provides access for a week.
This place is such a beautiful little spot, and what the man running it is doing is honestly amazing. He rescues turtles, cares for them, and raises the baby turtles until they are old enough to be safely released back into the ocean. It’s such important work, especially since many turtle species are endangered and their populations are sadly declining due to pollution, habitat loss, and other environmental threats. He also goes out of his way to visit local schools to teach kids about turtles, the importance of not littering, and how to be more environmentally conscious, which is just so awesome and inspiring. Entry is only a small donation, and it’s definitely worth a visit, not just to learn, but also to see the adorable baby turtles and support someone doing such meaningful work in his local community. A simple but really heartwarming experience.
Sophia E — Google review
The turtles are very cute, guide was knowledgeable and it is nice that they do something to save the turtles. I noticed two things during my visit that made me question the ethical foundation of the venture. 1) They have a 20 year old turtle called “Buddy” that swim restless around in a basin that for his size is way too small. I imagine it must be a living hell. No stimuli expect when it is fed at 4.30pm from which it then can swim around in little circles for 24 hours until anything happens again. Every day similar to the last. Every year. I read in their brochure that they keep him as a mascot to attract tourists so that they can expand their operations and save more turtles. Sacrificing a soul to save others. Also I don’t think this logic is valid, at least not anymore. Many people like myself will question the ethics of the operation and as result give a bad review. The right thing to do would be to transfer him to a place that can supply Buddy with a bigger tank. Maybe a zoo? 2) They don’t track the survival rate of the released baby turtles. One could argue that keeping them there, don’t expose them to the right bacteria or they miss other attributes essential for their survival. I hope it is not true but we don’t know. Measuring the survival rate is important to make sure that the project is actually beneficial and not only serving as cheap entertainment for tourists like myself.
Frederik B — Google review
It is truly wonderful that people here are dedicating themselves with such commitment to the preservation of wild animals and the survival of sea turtles 🐢🐢🐢 We can certainly debate whether the tanks are big enough - they probably aren’t. But to all those who keep criticizing: this is not Europe, where governments pour millions into such projects. Here, people are doing their very best with the resources they have - the water is changed daily, and the animals are cared for. If that’s still “not enough” for you, then please put a few thousand euros on the table and contribute yourself. At the end of the day, it’s still better than having the turtle eggs destroyed in the mud during the rainy season or eaten by predators. And about “Buddy”: yes, he does have a small tank. But Buddy was a pet with local fishermen for over ten years, who raised him at home. He only knows feeding, petting, and swimming in circles. A life in the open sea would simply not be possible for him to survive. If you want to change that, see above: put some money on the table and help. For me, this place is incredibly important, and I truly appreciate the work the staff are doing❤️🙏🏻

So much bullshit!!! It's for the tourists, They keep the babies turtles there... at total you pay 140K Rupiah for put a baby in the Ocean 🪸🌊 and said its for the repopulation... The website said it's not for the tourism but when you arrive and see bedrooms and spa and more activities for the tourists, you understand that is a bad place!!! look the big turtle is in a small pool and they don't care to let her live like this... they could at least build something bigger for her and much more depths.... with no contact humans... and for finishing they say its for repopulation of turtles okay but you can feel it's missing something being all this because you feel they don't heal turtles hurt or use the money for buying boat and clean around

My daughters released 2 lovely baby turtles. It was very cute. However, for me, it was not worth the experience. After paying a fee for the release, my girls could chose a turtle, bring it to the beach, release it. And done. In 15min, the experience was over. We received no explanation about the center, turtle live, or anything else. For me, it was disappointing. My girls loved it though.
Olivier S — Google review
What a fantastic place to be. We loved all the explaination of every stage of the hatchery and the little fellows are just too cute not to like. We spend a whole two hours here (although it’s a pretty small place). A ticket here is not only cheap but helps the hatchery big time, and is valid for a whole week if you want to come back (for example for feeding time). We saw the new hatchling still with the placenta all the way up to a large sea turtle living it’s good old live here as he cannot survive in the wild anymore.

Pemuteran Beach, located in the northwest of Bali, is a hidden gem with its black and yellow sand and stunning coral reefs perfect for snorkeling. This tranquil fishing village offers a natural charm away from the touristy southern coast of Bali. The beach is relatively secluded, providing a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation.
Very lovely beach, black sand. The tide was high which removes basically all the beach tho.

A beautiful beach but covered in litter. A lot of the coastline has rows of restaurants, cafes, beach chair rentals and snorkelling agencies and yet all staff look onwards at the rubbish and do nothing. Staff will remove the dropped flowers on the cafe lawns but won't do anything to clear up the beach. Most likely a side effect of tourism in Bali which is a shame, but more needs to be done by both tourists and locals.

I came here at the sunset time and it gave me the best view to enjoy Pemuteran Beach. Many cafes and restos around to enjoy the view with a glass of drink. Many visitors came to swim at the beach.

This beach is great to snorkel. While the coral is damaged, there is a diversity of fish swimming close to the beach. Unfortunately, however, we saw people leave “offerings” on the beach, which even if at some point those offering were used for religious purposes, it pollutes the beach. It is sad to see that most beaches in Bali are full of trash, this one included. Still it makes for a relaxing swim or snorkeling experience.

It's fine.... it's a black sand beach with lots of lava rock deposits. Don't forget to visit the cute little mangrove. "The Permuteran Tree" on the far end. Bio Rock project is interesting. Worth a visit, but if you really want to see the coral a bit more alive go to Menjangan island

I often bring my guests to Pemuteran Beach, one of the most peaceful and beautiful beaches in West Bali. The water is calm, perfect for swimming and snorkeling, and the sunset here is truly special. Many of my guests say it’s their favorite place to relax after exploring the island. If you’re planning to visit Pemuteran or nearby places like Menjangan Island or the Hot Spring, I’ll be happy to help with private transport or local tours. You can contact me — Gede (Get Transfer North West Bali) for a safe, friendly, and comfortable trip around this beautiful area.

It would be such a beautiful beach if people would not leave their trash everywhere. Many fish and great for diving, however I think it will not be for much longer if the trash situation stays like that
Claudia V — Google review
Small beautiful beach. You can snorkel here. The beach is narrow and covered with black sand. Take care of walking into the sea because the floor gets deep after you walk a few feet into the waters.

Biorock Pemuteran in Bali is a captivating underwater site for snorkeling and photography. The area features a 300-meter stretch of biorock formations, including casts of deities and bikes that have become vibrant habitats for marine life. These structures can be explored at various depths, making it an exciting experience for snorkelers.
A fantastic organization doing very necessary work, very effectively at this location specifically. It’s amazing and inspiring to see, but unfortunate it is needed. The information Centre is great as provides details around their process in terms of chemistry which was very informative. A massive shoutout to their team for almost immediately assisting me when I got out the water [I had just been snorkeling by myself, not with them or anything] with a bleeding stomach from a graze on the shallow coral. They quickly disinfected it with alcohol and treated it. Very grateful for this, no questions asked, just helped, and said bye, no payment or anything expected, pure kindness, so a purchase of their T shirt felt obligatory as thanks for all the work.

I go every day when I'm in pemuteran. Fabulous place. Well done to the creators and management. It's a fun safe place for the snorkelling community and for scuba training. Many small fish species sometimes a turtle nearby and great coral growing. I feed the fish and they swarm to me. Great to swim with nature. I have many videos I can't post... German and Austrian ladies I said hi too diving from the house pontoon. I couldn't get photos or videos to them

Pretty good! I don't like messing about with the natural environment, but they've got fish and coral using the structures, and it provides an interesting place to view sea life. Very easy swim from shore. The platform had a broken ladder, making it inaccessible to all but the more agile and strong… there didn't seem to be any urgency to fix it, and more than one person was seen injuring themselves trying to get on.
Andrew H — Google review
Nice spot, small coral, some small fish, nice view of growing coral, easy access from the beach. a few people in the water, not too busy.

Always a pleasure to stay at this homestay. Large, clean rooms with a/c, spotless bathrooms, most with queen beds but some that can separate into 2 twins. Good breakfast variety included, and there's a small swimming pool. Very nice staff who're adept in English. And integrated with it is a dive shop... And you can snorkel or scuba out to see the coral plantings of the Biorock experiment.

This project is great for coral recreation and interesting for snorkeling. You can find the statue of Garuda 12 meters deep, to the right of the floating house

This organisation is doing brilliant work helping to rejuvenate the coral through clever design, we saw turtles, thousands of beautiful fish and bright healthy coral just a stones throw from the beach. It's really worth donating to help these guys continue the great work they've been doing.
Fiona W — Google review
Very nice for snorkeling and not far from the shore. Enter at the flag for a safe entry for you and the corals. (There is also a sign written) I'm not a diver but for me it was really nice and many different fish including a pufferfish one day.

Gili Putih Sumberkima Beach is a hidden gem located in the northwest region of Bali, Indonesia. This exotic beach offers pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters, making it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts looking to capture the essence of a deserted island. While there may not be much to do on the island itself, visitors can arrange boat trips from Sumberkima to nearby attractions like Menjangan Island and make a stop at Gili Putih on their way back.
Secluded, uninhabited small island covered in all white sand. Nothing much to be done around this place on its own, so the best course to visit in my opinion is if you also book a trip to Menjangan Island from Sumberkima. You then can ask the boat captain to have a stop in Gili Putih on the way back to Sumberkima. Wait out for the sunset if you can, because it looks mad awesome.
Octavianti S — Google review
We paddled boarded to get there from Mangrove Bay. It took about 45min, it was hard but very rewarding as we did a stop to jump in the water and get to see the coral reforestation project in the bay. The island itself was super cute but there was nothing much to do and there was lots of rubbish. Different operators can organise romantic dinners and parties there.
Pan C — Google review
I had the opportunity to paddle out on a kayak to explore a beautiful, protected area of mangrove trees and a small atoll nearby. The journey itself was peaceful and scenic, with calm waters that made for a relaxing paddle. The atoll is relatively small, but its charm lies in the surrounding nature and tranquil environment. One of the highlights was how warm the water felt—likely due to its proximity to the mangroves, which create a more sheltered and sun-warmed environment. Once you reach the atoll, it’s a great place to relax and soak in the view. The beach area has a mix of soft and rough sand, and you’ll notice a few coral reefs and scattered shells. For anyone not used to walking on coarse sand or who plans to explore the shallow waters, I’d definitely recommend bringing water shoes. The coral and shells can be a bit rough on bare feet, but they also add to the natural beauty of the place. Overall, it’s a peaceful, enjoyable trip perfect for nature lovers looking to escape the crowds and experience a more untouched coastal setting. It’s definitely worth the paddle.

We rented a kayak and went there in the afternoon. Takes around 30 min paddling to the island and you can see beautiful sea stars on your way. We had the island to ourselves, which is good since there is not much shadow available. Snorkeling from the island is difficult since its shallow for 100+ meters around the island. and there are maaany sea urchins there

Great had dinner food was great more than enough for 8 people. Just watch for tidal movements. Had to walk a fair way to the boat. In ancle deep water at end of the night.

Poorly maintained with dirt scattered around, and it is not possible to fly the drone due to the proximity of the airport. Nothing exceptional.

Rented kayak at Mangroove Bay Hostel. After about 30 mins of rowing we arrived at sand island. Very lovely, we were there all alone. Nice activity and beautiful island. There is not much swiming or snorkling. Go only on high tide.

The Mantra Sari Resto offers affordable and well-presented food. Their chicken nuggets, although breaded heavily with flour, are tasty. The papaya and pineapple salad may seem like an unusual combination, but the savory black sauce complements it well. The pork satay is served with rice, vermicelli, and vegetables, keeping warm on a charcoal brazier. It is juicy and delicious but can be messy due to the oil content. Kids will enjoy the charcoal experience.
Delicious food, wish we found it sooner and would have booked a cooking class here. Lovely staff, food divine, superb presentation. Well worth a visit 👍😁

One of the best Restaurants I‘ve been to while staying in Bali. If you should have the opportunity to be Nest to it: try the Nasi Champur or the Fish of the day. If you are extra lucky and they do have Mango: don‘t miss the Mango Juice! It is the best I ever had!
Michael W — Google review
Maybe the best Warung in Permuteran. I may recommend de Nasi Campur which is close to perfection in balance and taste. ( the only thing I missed was a spicy sambal, but that’s personal preference)
Hans P — Google review
Wonderful food. Excellent fresh fish. Large portions. Wide choice. Friendly and efficient service. We had a very nice dinner at a reasonable price. We highly recommend this restaurant! Just a minor suggestion : add expresses on the menu 😋

Warung Tirta Sari is a popular dining spot located near Banjar Dinas Lokasegara, Pemuteran, Bali. The restaurant is praised for its serene and green surroundings. While the food is described as tasty and well-prepared, some feel that the portion sizes could be more generous for the price. Additionally, there are comments about similarities in the menu with another nearby restaurant. Visitors have also enjoyed engaging in a Balinese cooking class with the owner of the restaurant.
Lovely play with lovely atmosphere and great food! Moreover, it's served in a beautiful way! 😍 Can't really imagine a more chill and sweet place for a perfect date! The stuff was smiling all the time, was so happy to help, serving the food in a professional way. 5/5 is not enough for that place! In raining season they don't have that much fresh fishes but definitely come here in the summer time! 🌞 Thank you for the perfect dinner and wish you a great day!

Really good atmosphere and kind service! Satay was great but a little burned, so that's why I gave food 4 stars. Overall 5 out of 5 stars 👍.

We had a gorgeous dinner here with family and friends. The authentic Indonesian food was excellent, beautifully presented and delicious. We were happily surprised by an amazing traditional dance performance. Highly recommended!
Kavitha U — Google review
I have been there for a couple of times and I can say that the place is so nice especially around everything is green and quiet!! The food is tasty and well prepared (the quality is high), but I won’t give them 5 starts because of the portions that could be improved for the price they charge and about the menu which is the same of another restaurant close to them!! I say this because around you can eat more for the same price and you can find really nice atmosphere and delicious food everywhere almost!! So my advice for them is to give some more food especially regarding fish, cause is always expensive than chicken and other meals and for the prices you would expect to go out from the restaurant full!! By the way if you eat everything this place must be tried and enjoyed to the fullest!!
Daniel C — Google review
If you are looking for quite place to eat, look no further - this is your destination! Restaurant hiden near the beach as part of the resort, but only few steps away from the main street. You will find here 30 seats, but out of the season (november) approx 6-8 people on avg.. Prices are lower than on the main street, but food is delicious (we can compare). Every day fresh fish offer, but also traditional Bali kitchen including vegetable option are available. We recommend Mahi-Mahi fish and Chicken with sweet and spicy souce. Mojito and Rum and coke are the cherry of the evening. Alltogether with nicest waitresses concludes the best choice for your evening in Pemuteran.

Our favourite restaurant in the area! The service is fast and the staff is really kind and helpful. It’s situated in a resort and we loved the vibe there. The food is very good looking and nicely served, also very affordable! We came there everyday while our stay in sumberkima. Recommended!

Great food. We had seafood salad with a tangy soy dressing, grilled whole mahi mahi with Bali sauce and roast pork. All dishes were well prepared, elegantly presented and well flavored. Fresh sambal allowed for throttling spicyness. Good home made ice teas too, albeit on the sweet side for us. Extra lime fixed that.
Jeroen D — Google review
Fabulously presented and delicious food. You almost feel guilty eating it because it looks like art on a plate. I was going to give Warung Tirta Sari 5 stars until I was asked if I wanted my change after paying. It slightly ruined the experience that was otherwise completely positive

Dimpil BeachBar and Resto is a delightful seaside gem that serves up mouthwatering seafood dishes at wallet-friendly prices without compromising on quality. Picture yourself savoring delicious meals while soaking in the stunning beach views—truly worth every penny! The atmosphere is cozy, making it an ideal spot for a laid-back afternoon with friends or family. While the service can be hit or miss, with some staff being more attentive than others, the overall vibe remains friendly and welcoming.
A fun beach bar on the water. Worth the extra $2 a meal for the view. Lovely staff, the food came out super fast (within 20 mins), and was delicious. I especially liked the tomato soup. The music was a little loud at first but the staff were great at turning it down when requested.

The perfect food place for beach bums! Attendants were quite inattentive despite the idleness of the hour, so just approach them if you need anything. Worth the effort and freshness of the food that would soon come after.

Great beach front bar and restaurant, the food was so good when we were expecting it to just be average. The staff were helpful and friendly, and one night we went there was a great live band that played lots of hits and even took requests!

We spent the afternoon with drinks and then we had early diner . The ambiance was nice and cozy. Good vibe for a chill afternoon. The service was okay , friendly . The supervisor however was a bit “too much “ The food was ok for the price , however they could have put a bit more seafood on the plate . The taste was quite good and the sambal matah too . The toilet however so not very clean . Nice spot to check out
Galessie L — Google review
Dimpil survives because it can — not because it’s good. With only two beachfront spots in Pemuteran, it draws people in by default. Unfortunately, the view is the only thing working in its favour. We came here for dinner and were met with a series of red flags. The first? Watching a plate of prawns get returned from the table next to us — only to be suspiciously served to us within a minute of placing the same order. There’s no other way to put it: they recycled a dish that had already been sent back. That’s not just unprofessional — it’s unacceptable. Our next dish, a salad, took an oddly long time to arrive. We had to follow up, and when it finally came, the main ingredient was missing. No explanation until it landed on the table. To make matters worse, the salad leaves were wilted and soggy — clearly a result of hot meat being thrown in last-minute. It felt rushed, careless, and cobbled together to make up for their delay. Dimpil’s pricing is noticeably higher than other eateries in the area. And yet, the quality of food and service doesn’t even meet basic standards. If you’re going to charge more, the least you can do is deliver a decent plate and not make your guests feel like an afterthought. The only saving grace is its location — right on the beach, with the ocean just steps away. That earns it a second star. But beyond that, the experience was frustrating, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing. Bali is known for its exceptional hospitality — warm, attentive, and deeply thoughtful. Having lived here for several months, I’ve seen that standard time and again. Dimpil, unfortunately, is not even close. Come here if you have nowhere else to go and don’t mind paying for the view — just don’t expect much more.

Ikan Bakar Cak Rahman is a popular dining spot in Bali, known for its Asian and Indonesian cuisine. Located near Alfamart in Sumberkima, it offers a variety of dishes that locals love. Despite its unassuming location, the food is top-notch and reasonably priced. Visitors rave about the hospitality of the owners and the delicious grilled barramundi, grouper soup, and fried calamari.
Ikan Bakar Cak Rahman – Pemuteran, Banjuwedang, Bali We stopped by for lunch at Ikan Bakar Cak Rahman during our Bali round-island cycling trip — and wow, it was hands down the best food we’ve had on the island! We ordered their ikan bakar (grilled fish), sop ikan (fish soup), and you must try the sate gurita (octopus satay) and cumi bakar (grilled squid) — absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. Every dish tasted homemade with love. Bu Saniah and her husband cak Rahman were so warm and welcoming. They treated us like family and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was simple, local, and full of heart — just the way we like it. If you’re in the Pemuteran area, don’t miss this hidden gem. Real food, real people, real smiles!

❤️ What an amazing family! The food quality is excellent! Cak Rahman loves to cook and you can taste it in also in the fresh quality of the food! Next day I did snorkeling, fishing and visiting Gili putih with him. If you are in the area, than this is the place to go 10/10!

What a hidden gem!! This is one of the best places to eat seafood in Menjangan. The fish, shrimp and squid are very fresh and tasty. The place is a little bit remote, but easy to find. The owner is very kind and if it is available they will give you some fruit for free. We have a perfect time here. Come for dinner, then return the day after for lunch. You have to try this resto if you visit Menjangan, West Bali.
