Toll road rest stop
Visitor Centers
Roadside Station Namioka Apple Hill is a bustling rest stop with a variety of shopping, dining options, and engaging activities. While there's no ATM on site, visitors can enjoy an indigo dyeing workshop by making reservations and paying in cash. The friendly staff offers assistance in choosing from different sample designs for dyeing fabrics at reasonable prices. The station features apple-flavored dishes and a pleasant park known as Apple Hill where visitors can take leisurely strolls or simply unwind.
This place was godsent, in the middle of a long 3hr drive from East to West coast of Aomori, especially when it started to snow. We spent quite a bit of time shopping and eating there, indoors and sheltered from the cold.

Stop here to rest and relax on your drive to Aomori Prices are slightly lower Lots of friendly shop owners Plenty of apple related stuff

Has many stores and restaurants. I enjoyed and bought vegetables, fruits, snacks, pastries, and Raman.

Reservations are required, cash only (there is no ATM on site). The ladies who work there are so friendly and helpful. You choose from a variety of sample designs, and different size fabrics are priced accordingly. The prices are quite reasonable, my handkerchief was under ¥1500. They'll help you with your technique to get it just right. It took me about an hour to dye a handkerchief from start to finish. You'll take it home wet, in a plastic bag, and it's going to smell strongly for some time. I washed mine several times to no avail, but it did stop smelling after a few wears and airing out.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Tsuru no Maihashi Bridge is Japan's longest wooden bridge, spanning 300m over Lake Tsugaru Fujimi with stunning views of Mount Iwaki. Constructed in 1994 using traditional Japanese techniques and locally sourced Hiba trees, the bridge's elegant triple arches make for a picturesque sight, especially when illuminated by the setting sun.
Nothing better than a magnificent Bridge contrasting the blanket of endless white snow. Currently due to heavy snow and seasonal closures, accessing the viewing platform and crossing the bridge is not possible. If you are handicapped or using a wheelchair please be mindful the entire area leading up to the bridge is covered in 10-50cm of snow.
Google review
The bridge is continuing to be upgraded. The front section is a new one. When you proceed to walk to the second half of the bridge you can see the original section. Kudos to the local team who is making great effort to preserve the bridge. And you get a good view of the Mt Iwaki in the background. Great place for outdoor activities.
Karl W — Google review
Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy nature and scenery. Spent an hour walking around the park and visited the nearby red-crown crane sanctuary. There a restaurant overlooking the lake and have a good view of the bridge and the mountain.
Won L — Google review
Nice bridge and great views of mount iwaki!
Sherin O — Google review
The bridge is very cool and provides a very nice view of a nearby mountain for a photo op. The Aomori apple soft serve icecream from the shop next to the car park is a must though.
Robert M — Google review
The bridge is closed as it's being repaired but it looks pretty and picturesque from afar. May not be worth the drive just to see this bridge.
Lye W — Google review
We arrive during maintenance time. Too bad I can't walk on the bridge. But the view with the mountain in the back is just peaceful.
Oscar C — Google review
On December 21, 2019, my family of five arrived here from Sendai. It snowed a bit during our hour-long stay, and the cranes danced once for a few seconds for us. We were contented to learn why the bridge was so named.

The Tachineputa Museum is a fascinating venue that showcases enormous and colorful floats used in the Goshogawara Tachineputa Festival, which is one of the four largest summer festivals held between August 4th and 8th. The museum features three real tachineputa exhibited at the Tachineputa no Yakata, with neputa parades starting from the museum.
Absolutely amazing festival "floats" (really 20m tall statues on wheels), worth the detour to Goshogawara to visit. Seriously impressive and the museum is well designed to allow visitors to appreciate the art. About a 6min walk from the train station.

Throughout the time we were there, I was agog with wonder at the creativity of the minds that made these awesome inspiring structures. Each side is different. Filled with beauty and a need to express the creativity that comes from within.
Ameeta A — Google review
Interesting place to visit to find out more about the floats and the process behind the construction from design to building it. Pretty stunning. There is a good video being shown at the start of the exhibition showing the process throughout the seasons.

It's totally worth the visit . The display is about four storeys tall and weighs 1.9 ton .It is a great piece of art . Entrance fee is affordable with 2 hrs free car park ( next to the museum ) . A must visit when you are in Aomori .

The size and scale of the paper doll float characters is breathtaking, truly awesome. It's definitely worth a visit.
Lee M — Google review
Very impressive TachiNeputa museum. There’s an art gallery on second floor within the building but at a different section. Tickets can be purchased at the main counter, for cheaper price (TachiNeputa and Art Gallery combo). Third floor is a spacious zone with people working on the following year’s Neputa. Forth and fifth floor are learning/ activity zones or some sort, where you can pay to make your own gold fish lantern(?). Sixth floor is an observation deck and restaurant.
Tonn — Google review
This place may look pretty unassuming on the outside, but the inside is absolutely stunning. This is where they keep the floats for the annual Nebuta festival. It's amazing to learn the history of the floats, how they're built, and the meaning behind it all. They also have an art gallery on the 2nd floor, which was very tame compared to the regular museum. Id say skip the art gallery unless you need to kill time or something.

Nestled in the heart of Kanagi, the Dazai Osamu Memorial Hall, also known as Shayokan, is a beautifully restored childhood home of the renowned Japanese author Osamu Dazai. This Important Cultural Property dates back to 1907 and now serves as a museum dedicated to his life and works. To reach this literary gem, visitors can take a scenic train ride from Goshogawara Station to Kanagi Station, followed by a pleasant ten-minute stroll.
This is the birthplace of Dazai Osamu. More than Dazai himself, I've always been interested in the famous old buildings in Kanagi-cho, Goshogawara, where the Tsugaru dialect is said to be particularly strong. After my visit, I wanted to read more of Dazai Osamu's works and learn more about him, and I was also very impressed by the view of the wide, flat Tsugaru Plain, with the horizon visible.
KSRG 1 — Google review
VERY MUCH worth the journey, and incredibly accessible once you’re in. Lots of guidance and way more displays than shown on Google. Small souvenir shop as well, but tickets themselves are only ¥600. Obviously overall surreal to visit the birthplace of my favourite author, and the reason that I visited Aomori.

I had a lovely time at the Shayokan. The staff were very kind, and they stored my baggage behind the counter for me. There is one room towards the back where photography is not allowed. A lot of information was translated into English via QR code audio tour. They even offered tea and coffee for a reasonable price. I hope to visit again someday with friends.

Aomori is my hometown but it was my first visit. They had heaters but my feet felt frozen as I walked on tatami mats and stairs. It is certainly grand for someone’s home. I saw a living room, bedrooms, kitchen, but not bathroom nor bath. This place is kept clean but requires extensive renovation. It was nice to see Dazai’s handwritten letters and capes.

Sights & Landmarks

Takayama Inari Shrine is a serene and picturesque Shinto shrine located on top of a hill, offering visitors an extraordinary sight with hundreds of red torii gates lined up one after another. The shrine is dedicated to the god of rice, agriculture, and business prosperity and is guarded by numerous fox statues. With nearly 1,000 bright orange torii gates arranged in the shape of a dragon, this rural shrine resembles a smaller version of Fushimi-Inari-Taisha in Kyoto.
This is a local Shrine for the locals and it is very well maintained. The terrain is much easier for visitors to explore its wonderful serenity and picturesque environment. Access is available but primarily via private mobility transport. The way there is well sign-posted bus car. Judging from the size of its car park and amenities, it does accommodate up to some 100 visitors. With the crowd at Fushimi Inari Shrine, this is more private and spiritual place to visit and experience Japanese culture.
Dennis T — Google review
I think it’s a special place. There is a lot to this shrine and you should see for yourself. BUT… driving is a must… I did not… so getting there by bus only takes you to the entrance at the bottom. So you have to walk 40 minutes up and back down to the bus that only comes every once in a while. Just letting those know just in case :)

This is a beautiful shrine with few tourists visiting so it’s easy to enjoy and quite peaceful. It is generally well maintained, although some parts need some improvement. It is easy to access by car, and there is a small parking lot available.

A great shrine to visit! It does take some effort to climb up the hill, but it's worth it. I went on April 16, 2025—there weren’t any flowers, but the scenery was still beautiful. Not many souvenirs available, but they did have some limited-edition Sakura-themed omamori.
PLOYPICHCHA A — Google review
Superb. We showed up on a cold and rainy day and had the place almost completely to ourselves. It’s a beautiful location and with the drive from the city. We spent about an hour here and really enjoyed ourselves. It’s worth stopping in the teahouse and reading the history of the Cheseborough shipwreck and the aid of the local villagers.
Josh D — Google review
We drove to the location and had an amazing time. We went towards the end of August and the temps were about 30 degrees C, so wear comfortable shoes and clothing. It costs nothing to enter.
Russell C — Google review
Took the bus H53 from Gushugowara (Do check bus timing! It is not as frequent as you would have imagined). Bus journey is approximately 50+ minutes followed by a 30-40mins walk (3.6km) into the Shrine area. Alternatively, you can try getting a taxi in. Overall, a really pleasant view! For those who want to explore and go off track! Do visit!

Soba noodle shop
Kamenoya is a popular restaurant located in Goshogawara, just a short walk from the station. It's known for its unique menu item called Ten Chuka Soba and small tempura bowl. The restaurant has received high ratings and tends to get crowded quickly, so it's best to arrive early.
Cute little family run noodle restaurant. The owner is very friendly and accommodating... Don't worry about the lack of English menu or pictures, just say tempura soba (Udon) or curry soba (Udon) and they will understand. The soup of the tempura soba is particularly outstanding.

(Translated by Google) I received Tenchuka Soba for 850 yen. I heard it was popular with tourists, so I decided to try it. A small kakiage of scallops sits on top of the old-fashioned chicken-based Chinese noodles. The soup is light and gentle, and the classic toppings include Chinese pork, pork belly, and green onions. It was light at first, but in the second half it started to get heavier and heavier due to the oil from the kakiage. It's not suitable for eating often, but maybe it's good for occasional consumption? ! I would like to try normal Chinese noodles once. The other dish is the Tentoji soba that my companion ate.Is this the correct one? ? ? ?

(Translated by Google) I went there for the first time after being recommended by an acquaintance. The prices are generally reasonable for a soba restaurant, and even a large serving costs only 100 yen more, which is quite reasonable. The time it took for the tempura and soba to arrive was short, and the noodle soup was light, but delicious. The oyakodon was also light in flavor, but the balance of the sweetness of the egg was good and it was delicious. The portion size when I ordered the large serving was a little lacking, but...

(Translated by Google) I passed by without noticing the store's modest appearance ^^; I ordered Tenchuuka. "Ramen and tempura" is an interesting combination. The ramen has a light soup and thin noodles that combine the flavors. Crispy scallop tempura goes surprisingly well. It somehow felt nostalgic to me. Inside the store, there are three tables for four people and a counter seat. It was a heartwarming feeling to see the turtle motif of the store's name casually placed there. There was no parking lot, so I parked at a nearby paid parking lot and walked. For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Fujimiko Park, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Tsugaru Shamisen Hall. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Fujimiko Park, located near Mutsu-Tsuruda Station in Aomori Prefecture, is a picturesque lakeside park known for its stunning views of Mount Iwaki, often referred to as Tsugaru-Fuji due to its resemblance to Mount Fuji. The park features the Tsuru no Mai Bridge and offers a scenic spot for families and couples. Visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms in spring and beautiful snowscapes in winter.
You’ll witness the longest wooden bridge in Japan along with the iwaki mountain. It’s also a perfect place to enjoy the sunset. Outstanding place, a must visit if you’re traveling Aomori. Parking lot closed at 5, but you can find alternative parking along the road.

The Tsugaru City Jomon Residence Exhibition Museum Calco showcases artifacts from the Kamegaoka site and other locations in the city and prefecture. Visitors can explore a reconstructed pit dwelling and encounter lifelike Jomon period dolls that speak in their ancient language. The museum also features a replica of the goggle-eyed dogu clay figurine from the Tokyo National Museum.
Very interesting spot to visit if you're in the area, where you can read about excavations and discoveries of prehistoric times. Most of the signs are only in Japanese, but you can use your phone translator to understand. Very friendly and helpful ladies at the ticket store and shop.

The admission fee is only 200 yen per adult and can be paid with PayPay, but the museum also recreates the life of the Jomon period, and there are elaborate replicas of the Shakoki clay figures excavated from the Kamegaoka Stone Age Site, as well as pottery and stoneware excavated from sites in Tsugaru City, all displayed by theme, which was very worth seeing. ^ - ^ The staff were also very kind, and they took photos of me holding the replica of the Shakoki clay figure (the real one is kept at the Tokyo National Museum and can be seen up close!) and carefully told me where the "Shako-chan" manhole was located, which made me happy with their thoughtfulness. I even received a commemorative card as a gift on my way out, which was a heartwarming and wonderful memory.

(Translated by Google) Visited in July 2024. There's not much to see, but I think the human bones that were excavated are definitely worth seeing. It seems to be from the Jomon period, but I can't help but be surprised at how old it is, beyond anything I could have imagined. It is said that there are 113 ruins in Tsugaru City, which is enough to convince you that it is an area that should be registered as a World Heritage Site. I feel like the female staff at the counter is too energetic, which I don't like, but I think she's really friendly. He was kind enough to give me a brief explanation when I entered the museum. The lady at the shop was very kind, and even though I purchased a replica clay figurine (Kamegaoka ware), she was kind enough to tell me what to do in case it was damaged. It was funny, saying “Shako-chan, Shako-chan”. It's a great place to feel the local flavor. Matsukura Shrine, also known as Matsukura Kannon, is the oldest Kannon in Tsugaru and is believed to be highly beneficial despite its challenging accessibility. (Translated by Google) Matsukura Shrine is a shrine located in Maeda Nome Nowaki, Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture. I visited it in 2025 at the Tsugaru Thirty-Three Kannon Temples. Why is it considered a shrine, even though it is a Kannon temple? Kannon temples are mainly Buddhist temples, but this area in Aomori Prefecture is a region that still retains the strong influence of the Shinbutsu Shugo era before the Meiji Shinbutsu Bunri Edict, and is also a valuable place where you can learn about the history of that time. I used a quote to find out what kind of shrine it is. The deities enshrined are Oyamatsumi-no-kami, Onamuchi-no-kami, and Sukunahiko-no-kami. The annual festival is held on July 10th of the lunar calendar. The 25th temple of the Tsugaru Thirty-Three Kannon Temples, the main deity is the Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva. The hymn is: "Guide me, Kannon, I swear here, Matsukura no Miya", Mount Bonju has been known as a sacred mountain since ancient times, and although the date is unknown, Homyobo (a senior disciple of En no Gyoja) founded Kannon Temple. In the second year of the Daido era (807), Emperor Heizei built 80 shrines and over 300 buildings and temples to protect the capital from evil spirits, as Mount Bonju is a sacred place located northeast of Kyoto. Sakanoue no Tamuramaro, who was sent to this area on the Eastern Expedition, also enshrined an eleven-headed Kannon statue and worked to restore the temple. Mount Bonju developed into one of the major sacred places in Tsugaru and was even called the Tsugaru 3,000 temples at one point, but as time went on, faith in the temple faded and it fell into disuse. In the second year of the Shogen era (1208), Yoshitsugu and Yoshiuchi brothers, members of the Fujiwara clan of Hiraizumi, Oshu (present-day Hiraizumi Town, Iwate Prefecture), escaped from Minamoto no Yoritomo's pursuers and arrived here, where they rebuilt the dilapidated Kannon temple and invited the monk Ishigaki Konko to re-open the temple. Matsukura Shrine later flourished again under the protection of the Ando clan, who became the rulers of Tsugaru, with many temples built and its name changed. However, during the Sengoku period, the Ando clan was defeated by the invasion of the Nanbu clan and left Tsugaru, causing it to decline again. When it was restored as Matsukura Hiryu-gu Shrine during the Bunroku era (1593-1596), it came to be worshiped as Nakayama Gongen, one of the three great Gongen deities of Tsugaru, and in 1645 (Shoho 2), Tsugaru Nobuyoshi, the third lord of Hirosaki Domain (domain office: Hirosaki Castle), selected it as a temple of the Thirty-Three Kannon Temples of Tsugaru. During the Horeki era (1751-1763), as many worshippers began to visit the shrine, a temple town called Odakano was created, and faith in the shrine spread further and it became more lively. In the early Meiji period, the Shinbutsu Bunri Edict was issued and the subsequent anti-Buddhist movement swept through the area, leading to the establishment of a Buddhist shrine, which was renamed Yamiokami Shrine, which enshrines Amaterasu Omikami. In 1872, the shrine was renamed Matsukura Shrine when it was combined with Maeda Nome Kumano Shrine, and in 1873, it was listed as a local shrine. In 1911, it was designated as a shrine that offers sacred offerings, and the former Kumano Shrine building is now the Satomiya (remote worship site) of Matsukura Shrine. This is a good place for those who like historical buildings, temples, Buddhist statues, shrines, power spots, healing places, Kannon sacred places where prayers are made for the fulfillment of wishes, spectacular views, landscape photography, healing places, Japanese gardens, worship, autumn leaves, hot springs, castles, sightseeing in Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, collecting temple stamps, etc.

(Translated by Google) It says it's 3km to the shrine entrance, but it's really 3km! ? The road is so long. There's only one road, so you won't get lost, but there isn't much space to get in the right direction if an oncoming car comes (I feel this is especially true the further you go towards the back).Someone wrote that it would be better to use a cane at the torii gate, but I didn't have one. It was. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to climb up the mountain path. There are stairs, but the steps are quite steep, so it's a little easier to climb up the slope next to the stairs. Postscript: On September 16th, I went up to the shrine behind Kannondo. If you go around from the side to the back of the Kannon-do and follow the path that people would have taken, you will come to a slope with a rope down. When I grabbed the rope and went up, I saw three shrines. When I looked down, it was a spectacular view, but there were bears and I couldn't connect to my cell phone, so I honestly didn't want to go up again.

It seems that the performers change depending on the time, so if you visit on a different day you might be able to enjoy a different sound. The people at the hall were all very kind and warm. Photography of the performance is allowed, but video and audio recording are prohibited. Please come and experience the live sound that a video can't convey! Even the museum staff were completely immersed in the performance, exclaiming, "Wow!" The sound of the Tsugaru shamisen is rough, yet powerful, like the north wind. We are grateful that an instrument and style of playing that is so suited to Tsugaru has been born. The Tsugaru shamisen, which was born here, continues to be loved in this modern world because there is something captivating about the performers and strings. If you're looking for a delightful dining experience in Goshogawara, look no further than 一休寿司 五所川原店. This charming sushi restaurant is renowned for its exceptional Bara Chirashi, which features a medley of seafood that offers a wonderful combination of soft, crunchy, and chewy textures. The dashi soy sauce elevates the flavors to an exquisite level.
I found this place out thanks to a local and I wasn't disappointed. The donburi was delicious, the fish was fresh, the wasabi was strong but not overwhelming and the service was on point. I cannot recommend this place enough

Each piece of pottery on display had a unique presence, combining ease of use and beauty, and I found myself staring intently at them. There is also a restaurant and cafe, as well as a large art gallery that you can enjoy. It seems that several artists are exhibiting and selling their works jointly, and although they share the same climbing kiln, their works are diverse. Tableware, vases, lampshades, coffee cups with dog designs, etc. The designs, genres, presence or absence of glazes, and how they are used are unique depending on the artist, and you will never get bored just looking at them. When we arrived, there were a lot of cars parked here, and foreigners who appeared to be passengers on cruise ships docked in Aomori City were shopping on sightseeing buses. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad that there were large puddles scattered around the unpaved parking lot. When you think of pottery, you might think of things like plates and vases, but there are a lot of cute animal ornaments. On this day, there will be a corner devoted to cats, with items that cat lovers can't miss. As someone who is more of a dog person myself, I'm looking forward to the establishment of a dog-centered corner. The second floor has a gallery and a lampshade corner with gentle light. Pottery is on sale at half price in the outdoor tent. Even if there is a reason, the pattern did not come out well, so there is no problem in using it. If you like it, you can enjoy shopping at a good price. The kiln has an exhibition of the Kanayama-yaki production process, and you can not only shop but also experience it. It's like a ceramic theme park. There are restrooms located throughout the grounds, so you can enjoy the experience without worrying about using the restroom. There was one beckoning cat that looked like it would be safe to say that I had made it myself, so I bought it for half the price. Issa-an is a renowned establishment that specializes in serving delectable soba noodles. One noteworthy recommendation is their Nabeyaki udon, which is available year-round. The restaurant offers exceptional value for money, as their shrimp tempura soba costs under 1000 yen despite the generous portion of shrimp. Ashino Park is renowned for being one of Japan's finest locations to admire cherry blossoms, having been listed among the '100 Best Cherry Blossoms in Japan.' It holds a special place in the heart of literary genius Osamu Dazai, who frequented the park as a child. Although my visit coincided with hazakura, an advanced stage of cherry blossom bloom, I was captivated by the park's timeless ambiance.
A beautiful park to take a nice walk or jog around. The cherry blossoms festival is also great, the parking is a little difficult during this busy time but it really is a wonderful place to visit!

I cannot recommend going to this park at all, sadly. The park itself might be nice to take a walk around, however there is a small area that houses rabbits and also bears. We first saw the rabbits and I was positively surprised that they had a lot of space - we have bunnies at home ourselves and therefore know that most bunnies are not being kept in big enough enclosures (the MINIMUM for 2 rabbits is 4m²!). However whilst they also had small houses for shelter there was no enrichment for them whatsoever. It also appears that they were fed solely on oats, which is fine for them to eat, but not exactly nutritious and should only be fed in small amounts occasionally. Bunnies should have access to fresh greens 24/7 and not a single one of the enclosures (there were 5) had any greens at all. Makes me wonder if they get any greens at all, or if they already ate it all up (in which case they're being underfed on greens). Also one of the bunnies was very clearly sick with it's head tilted to the side heavily (could be a sign of E.C., a highly contagious disease amongst bunnies (though, to my knowledge, does not commonly spread to humans)) so I sincerely hope it's being examined by a vet regularly. Bunnies aside, they have 2 bears in what I can only call a pit. A concrete pit. They had no shelter and no enrichment at all, their claws were extremely long (consequence of lack of proper enrichment/enclosure design) and whilst they didn't appear malnourished, they seemed extremely bored and sad. They had NOTHING inside that enclosure that was also way too small for 2 bears! I felt so bad for them. These bears should either be relocated to a proper zoo or be given enrichment. For these poor bears even a plain tree trunk would probably be the excitement of their lives. In conclusion, if you care about animal rights, stay away from this park or at least avoid the animal corner. There are better places to spend your time in Aomori prefecture.

Wish I could give this 5 stars but the treatment of animals is very poor here. There is a very small concrete enclosure for 3 beautiful bears. It is so sad to see, there is nothing for them to do and nothing but concrete floor and concrete blocks. Hopefully others locally will speak out against this.

It was a scorching hot summer day. The road was exposed to the unobstructed sun. I was a stranger who had come from the station on a broken-down bicycle. Perhaps it was the heat of the road, or perhaps the dense air there, but I experienced something special. This is the place where I became convinced that Tsugaru has a unique, strict animism.

(Translated by Google) A sacred place in Aomori Prefecture is Mt. Osore in Shimokita. However, the Kawakura Saino Kawara Jizo statue here also gives you a mysterious feeling. Inside the building, there are a large number of Jizo statues arranged in a row, and all of them are dressed in kimono, just like their own children (they were cute children), and toys are placed nearby. It's spectacular and I feel sad. In addition, the group of dolls in the building on the right hand side of the main image has an indescribable atmosphere. This is a group of married couple dolls that represent the wishes of parents for their children who died young to find a spouse in the afterlife. I thought about taking a photo of the dolls, but decided against it because I didn't want something else in the picture. palms together (Original)

(Translated by Google) Kanagi Town, Aomori Prefecture, Sainokawara Jizo statue Bus from Aomori Station to Goshogawara City, Transfer to Tsugaru Railway and get off at Ashino Koen Station, then walk about 2 km. I arrived at the station around 5pm, ate oden, went back and forth to the site, and was able to get back on the train at around 7pm. If you are walking, I think it would be a little difficult to visit after this. With Google guidance and the occasional big yellow sign, you won't get lost, but there aren't many street lights even on the relatively large roads. And it's probably because I visited after the festival season. There were houses and cars passing by, but I didn't see anyone. Walking close to the Jizo statue, the sunset over the lake in Ashino Park is very beautiful. That's probably the advantage of visiting in the evening. It's across from a building that looks like a day service with a hot spring facility. There are many gates made of large logs, From there, we walk towards the park grounds, into the mountains. Go through the gate and the entertainment hall will be on your left. Is laughter required at festivals? As you head forward, you can see temples and temples scattered along the road, and around the temples and further down the mountain, there are many Jizo statues enshrined in their original form, along with their costumes and decorations. . I didn't have much time to spare, and since I was wearing snow tires, they weren't suitable for slopes, so I didn't walk around much, so I just walked around with my hands together. As we will learn later, Jizos were enshrined in a similar way in other areas within Aomori Prefecture, so it is not just a form unique to this sacred place, but a large number of them gathered there due to the power of the place. I thought I would like to visit the shrine again, this time during the festival season, or when I am ready to walk. I'm glad I went (Original)

(Translated by Google) Just a short walk from Shayokan This is the place where young Dazai Osamu had a scary experience in the Hell Pictures. There was a detailed explanation at Shayokan. I think it would be better to go around from Shayokan first. The picture of hell is in a tatami room and you have to take off your shoes to enter. Head towards the main hall and enter through the entrance on the right. You can visit for free. The picture of hell is inside the glass, so there seems to be some tricks to taking pictures of it. (Translated by Google) It is a temple close to Shayokan, and there is an anecdote that Dazai often came there when he was young, accompanied by his babysitter Take. The large lying pine tree and the scary hanging scroll depicting hell may have some kind of influence on young Dazai's personality. There is also a Kannon statue with a nice face in the precincts. A monument inscribed with a line from the novel "Tsugaru" has also been erected. Also, there are strong political arguments. I felt very sad when I saw the words on the entrance. From the perspective of those who have been victims of crime and those who have been protecting graves for generations, I feel truly sorry for the fact that someone with no common sense has become their successor. I'm disappointed that it's like this even though I came from far away.
