Amphawa Floating Market

Floating market
Amphawa Floating Market is a well-known water market where visitors can find a variety of local seafood dishes prepared in traditional wooden boats. In addition to the seafood, there are numerous other food vendors offering a wide selection of delicious treats.
A very famous floating market on the Maeklong River. I thought the food was good and reasonably priced, but my Thai friend who went with me said that everything there has gotten a lot more expensive. Boat tours and homestays are popular.
K S — Google review
Sightseeing spot for dat trip from Bangkok you will meet the shops for local foods along the river The price is very reasonable, lots of old and rare food stuffs and you can help buying from the locals too. Dont forget to try coconut and palm juice called Nam Tan Sod, you can take a boat trip to visit 5 temples for only 50 THB and sure you will gain a lot of experience and impression like me
Bikka U — Google review
This market was very disappointing. There weren’t many vendors on boats, and most of it was inside—hot, sticky, and full of flies. We expected it to be much bigger. We rode motorbike from Bangkok to see it, but it wasn’t worth the trip. The boat ride just circles around the river, and we even saw a few boats broken down. The food didn’t look appetizing either. Overall, we wouldn’t recommend this market.
Shaifa H — Google review
It is a cool place to walk around and shop. You can get in the boat and go on a little tour and you can spot fireflies at night (their population has been depleting though so it's upto your luck if you're going to see one or not). There's a lot of snack and food stalls and stores around BUT I wouldn't really recommend going for a full meal. The food around here isn't really the best. It's more of a shop stop.
The S — Google review
We visited Amphawa Floating Market in the afternoon, and although it is more famous for its evening vibes, we still enjoyed the experience. The market has a local charm with stalls lined along the canal selling snacks, drinks, seafood, and souvenirs. Not all shops were open yet because it gets busier later in the day, but there was still plenty to explore. We enjoyed walking along the riverside, browsing the stalls, and soaking in the relaxing atmosphere without the usual evening crowds. You can also take a short boat ride to see more of the canal area, which adds to the floating market experience. Overall, even in the afternoon, Amphawa offers a cultural and enjoyable stop, especially if you prefer avoiding heavy crowds and want a more leisurely visit. 🌤️🛶✨

Day 2: Road Trip Amphawa Floating Market Thailand Awesome place however best to come on a Saturday & Sunday because more shops are open. Still cool as ! #roadtrip #thailand #samuiexplorer #amphawafloatingmarket
Samui E — Google review
Parking? Oh yes—plenty of it! Inside and outside the temple, because Buddha believes in convenience. Only 30–40 baht to leave your chariot there and strut a short distance to the market like a local hero. The market? A paradise of snacks and souvenirs. And guess what? The prices won’t make your wallet cry like they do for unsuspecting tourists—finally, justice! The vibe? Absolutely charming. Think cozy canal-side house, but with more noodles and fewer mosquitos (okay, maybe a few mosquitos—it's authentic, alright?). Now, there was this one restaurant we walked by. The staff stared deep into our souls and practically telepathically said, “Sit here or never know peace.” So naturally, we kept walking in pure petty defiance. Fast forward: we landed at the last restaurant. And oh boy, jackpot. The view? Chef’s kiss. At 6:30, fireflies appeared like nature’s version of fairy lights. The sunset? Straight out of a romance movie. The sky? Instagram couldn’t handle it. And the fireflies? Sparkling like someone spilled Christmas all over the river. 10/10 would ignore pushy restaurants again.
Harvey C — Google review
Had beautiful experience with Amphawa floating market. We walk around, shopping and eating. Authentic thai food with Authentic market experience. Night time we pay for a boat ride to see fireflies, it was raining season so the whole tree was filled with them like a christmas lights. One even flew around us in a boat on my shoulder. We didn't stay the night but it was 9 out of 10. Minus 1 point for the toilet, we always had to pay 5 bahts for every toilet visit.

Buddhist temple
Wat Chulamanee is a waterside temple renowned for its adorned interiors and gilded Buddha statues. It's particularly famous for paying homage to Thao Wessuwan, with devotees flocking here to venerate the protector deity with red roses. The temple is known for granting believers' wishes, and it houses various Hindu deities like Durga and Ganesha. Visitors can enjoy ample parking space and nearby shopping opportunities at the Amphawa floating market.
A temple dedicated to Wessuwan, they have many versions of him here, and there are many holy objects and statues of Wessuwan for sale here (but they aren't cheap). If you want to pray to Wessuwan and want to go to an official temple dedicated to him, then this would be the place to go, it sure is worth a visit.

History Museums
King Rama II Memorial Park is a tribute to King Rama II, established by the King Rama II Memorial Foundation. The park encompasses an area of approximately 11 rai and holds significance as it was the birthplace of King Rama II. Situated near the Amphawa Floating Market, it features five traditional Thai houses showcasing the lifestyle and culture during the Rattanakosin era.
Though it's a memorial park related to King Rama II and is the birthplace King Rama II used to be born here in the past more than two centuries ago, it has nothing much to do with the keepsakes of King Rama II. The buildings seem to be newly built, with waxworks demonstrating what the culture and lifestyle used to be like during the childhood period of King Rama II and during the reign of King Rama II. It also has a small museum explicating the history of Samut Songkhram. Not really an antique museum like Bangkok National Museum. The 60 baht entry fee I think is very reasonable as the place is well maintained. Clean and tidy.
Ade H — Google review
Museums and Thai history is a big part of their culture. This museum, which was the home of Rama II, is kept in pristine condition. The boats are original while the fruits aren't. The spoon looking thing out of the rabbit's mouth is what they used to scrape the coconut flesh out of the coconut shell. Very interesting indeed. It's a lovely day out.
Gina M — Google review
A couple of hundred meters away from the floating market, nice, clean and quiet garden. Each building is a small museum about local life and the history of King Rama II.
David V — Google review
A beautiful place that show some of the cultural details of the Historic Thailand. Truly beautiful. Has a small entree fee as a ticket of 60 bath for farangs. And I think 40 for Thais.

It is a spacious park with Thai traditional buildings, statues, ponds, trees and flower gardens. It was a pleasant experience to see these unique Thai architectures. The atmosphere was very peaceful. I visited during the day where the sun was bright, and it was blazing hot. If you travel during day time, you may have to bring an umbrella and wear thin casual clothes. Entry fee: 20 Baht per person. Time of travel: September 2018.
Kinzang W — Google review
This is a very clean and well kept park with some cultural attractions and a riverfront rest area. Only 30 baht for adults and free for kids it's a good deal. The toilets are vert clean. You can see lotus ponds, orchids, gardens and traditional Thai wooden houses. These contain displays of how traditional desserts are made. You can also rent a bike for 40 baht and cycle around. There is a pleasant shaded rest area overlooking the river which gets a nice breeze. Highly recommend.

Wat Bang Kung is a historical Buddhist temple located in the Ampawa area, dating back to the Ayutthaya Period. The temple is known for its unique feature of being completely enclosed within the roots of a banyan tree, giving it an enchanting and mystical atmosphere. Inside the tree, there is a large golden Buddha statue, adding to the spiritual ambiance. Additionally, visitors can explore ancient temples in the area and enjoy the beautiful countryside with tropical fruit orchards and coconut farms.
Many statues to take picture with, I love the boxing statues and the elephants. The statues have great definition and looks very good. The guide is good at explaining the history of the place. Can pay respect to the place by going under 2 massive swords that are sprinkled with coins. You can buy flowers to wear and also some other merchandise. No picture taking inside the temple. . But outside is fine. Our guide helped us to take picture. A very big golden statue of budha is located inside the temple. You also need to leave your shoes outside the temple before entering. Shorts and sleeveless needs to be covered. They have free clothes that can be borrowed for covering. The temple looks like a hollow stump of a tree.

Wat Bang Kung is a truly remarkable place to visit. Tucked away in the heart of nature, this temple exudes an enchanting atmosphere, as if it were lifted directly from a jungle adventure movie, with vines gracefully draping from the trees. Revered by the Thai people, this ancient temple holds deep spiritual significance, and even as a foreigner, I could feel the profound importance of this sacred site.
Harvey C — Google review
Wat Bang Kung is a historic temple located in Samut Songkhram province, Thailand. It is famous for its unique structure, where an ancient building is almost entirely enveloped by the massive roots of a banyan tree, creating a mystical and timeless atmosphere. The temple holds great historical significance as it dates back to the era of King Taksin (18th century) when it served as a military stronghold. Inside the temple, there is an ancient, gilded Buddha statue, which devotees visit to pray and apply gold leaf as an act of devotion. Wat Bang Kung is not only a religious site but also an important symbol of Thailand’s history and culture, making it a must-see destination for those looking to experience a blend of spirituality, history, and breathtaking nature.

Very quiet.alot of good history and a place to worship leaders of the past.about a 5min walk if you was doing the floating market tour.there are some translation papers there for foreigners, rite outside of the tree with buddha. My main reason was to see BUDDHA in a tree, but I got to see so much more .Most of the placards/signs are in thai.i just used the translation app to help me understand more. I introduced myself to a monk while there as well.🙏🏽

Tha Kha Floating Market, located in Tambon Tha Kha, Amphoe Amphawa, is a traditional market where locals sell fresh produce and handmade goods from their boats along the canal. Unlike other markets in the area, Tha Kha retains its original lifestyle and operates on specific days during the lunar cycle and weekends. It offers a more authentic and less crowded experience compared to nearby markets.
Super enjoyable place where locals trade their food and goods. I didn’t saw a single tourist. The prices are low and the food - alongside entire experience- great. So much better than other floating markets in Thailand!

A very nice and small floating market. There are excellent snacks and nice cafes there. Fresh fruit, beautiful orchids, little things to give away and boat tours on the river. An insider tip for lovers of Thai culture.

This is a small floating market in the outskirt, selling fresh produce and some food. Food is quite delicious and cheap. You can also have a boat ride, either motorboat or a manual rowing one (we go for the manual one, and the scenery is very nice).

It was an amazing experience in travelling the small boat 🚤 for the floating market. There are lot of shops and eateries on the way to the floating market. We tried few Thai dishes and it was just amazing to savour. And people who are shopping 🛍️ freak cannot miss this place.
Santhosh R — Google review
This is a small but lovely morning floating market located in the midst of fruit & vegetable farms. Probably one of a few original floating market still in existence, where market sellers arrive as early as 5-6 AM to sell their wares directly from their boats.
Peter Z — Google review
It is a small and peaceful floating market. They sell foods, desserts, fruits, souvenirs, drinks, clothes and etc. but not many choices. I had a fresh coconut juice, and it tastes good. I spent about 15-20 minutes as there were nothing more to see or do because the area is small. Meanwhile, I did spot one old model Mercedes Benz car which I saw for the first time with my own eyes. It is rare to find such an old car and I really admired its classic design. If you want to explore one of the floating markets in Thailand but want a peaceful atmosphere with fewer crowds, then this market may be one of the suitable choices for you. Time of travel: September 2018
Kinzang W — Google review
Very locally floating market. You can find a variety choices of fresh fruits and veggies. Good option of ready-to-eat food selling in the boat too. Walking to the end of the market, there’s a cozy coffee shop for you to have a seat and enjoying the slow life :) The only down side for me is that there’s not much there. The market is small. It’s only take me 30mins total to walk around, take picture, eat and leave.

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience in Amphawa, look no further than ร้านอาหารเจ้าสำราญ. Nice place on the river, not easy to find. It's located at the end of the soi, left side. As a group we were served quick and good. Food was good, view on the river. Definitely a place to try

Very delicious, friendly staff and an amazing view of the river! Definitely a must visit. Walking distance from the amphawa floating market, so it was the perfect end to an adventurous day. Seafood is fresh.
Meghna G — Google review
The food is delicious, which is the only reason to get 2 stars. The view to the river is acceptable. The tables are looking like in a street food restaurant, means the table are looking worn and faded. Service could be better, so you have to ask for everything you need inklusive tissues on the table. The menus are overpriced for the region and for this kind of restaurant standard. All in all not recommend and not worth the money.

Pawat Somtum Seafood is a popular restaurant in Samut Songkhram known for its fiery Isaan dishes and signature charcoal chicken. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, including crab fried rice, grilled chicken leg, and creamy scallops. The restaurant provides air-conditioned seating for a comfortable dining experience. It's highly recommended by locals and Thai tourists for its authentic Thai cuisine. Dishes like Gaiyaan and soup pratu are particularly praised for their delicious flavors.
This is by far my best Thai restaurant. This restaurant is not for tourist. I see most is guests are local or Thai tourists from other provinces. I ordered 5 dishes for 4 family members and all enjoyed food. For roast muscle, I’ve never seen such a big muscle. Tom yum kung is also real stuff. Quite tasty. We ordered fried rice to finish dinner and that was quite good as well. I’ve never tasted such a good Thai seafood in California. Thumbs up for fast service as well. Outside seating is nice as well but waiter didn’t speak English and I didn’t know it has air conditioning inside. With $40 usd, entire family member left with full stomach work happy feeling.

Not recommended. Totally overpriced for worse than mediocre quality of food. Grilled chicken is dry. Scallops in garlic butter is tiny; you pay approx. 15 bht for finger nail sized scallops. Charges 15 bht for air-conditioned room per person. Find another place.
Zae K — Google review
It is relatively expensive in the same area. No air conditioning. We ordered shrimp (sadly only M size) steam crab and butter scallops. Scallops are small, taste ok. Crab is good. Shrimp is just average, we had one gone bad, and the staff changed one for us. Overall 1550 bat spent, but I will recommend visitor to try some other place.

I recommend Gaiyaan and soup pratu . These are very delicious. Somtam is normal or less average.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious! I ordered crab fried rice, which is soft, fragrant, and not greasy—arguably the best fried rice I’ve had in Thailand. The grilled chicken leg, a signature dish here, is also quite tasty. The creamy scallops are fresh, and the fact that the restaurant has air-conditioned seating means you can enjoy your meal without losing your appetite in the hot weather. Overall, it’s a highly recommended restaurant to visit.

The restaurant PAVA COFFEE AND BAR has a pleasant atmosphere. However, there was a slight misunderstanding when a friend ordered a beer and the waitstaff brought the wrong one. The food, which consisted of Thai dishes, was overall quite salty but would be more enjoyable when eaten with rice. The menu offers a good variety of items. Additionally, PAVA COFFEE AND BAR is known for its small yet delicious pizzas. Although the food is tasty, it does come at an expensive price.
Although this shop may design for night life style but they open for lunch too, and their foods are good. Especially the European menu like pizza, spaghetti, steak, etc. Coffee are good too.

I came here in the morning around 10am.on Friday, only drink is available - no food. They do have at other time. This cozy place is not that big, but they can lay out the space with sofas, chairs, and table. Nice decoration is chic. Drink is nice. For smoothie, they use the real fruit and it's not too sweet.

I like its atmosphere. There was one misunderstanding when my friend ordered a beer, pointing at the photo but the waitstaff got the wrong one for him. It was German beer and my friend is German and he pronouced the name correctly, the lady didn't seem that happy about it even when she said it was "OK" The food(I ordered Thai dishes) in general was a bit overly salty but for those who eat with rice would be much better I believe so I think most people would enjoy the taste. I like its variety of the menu items.

When in Amphawa, don't miss out on trying the famous Mooyang Katisod. The friendly owners speak English fluently and offer a unique and delicious dining experience. The noodles are particularly delightful, and there's convenient parking available as well. It's a must-visit for anyone exploring the area.
It was our first visit. The food, service, and atmosphere were all satisfactory. There is parking space for 6-7 cars next to road in front of the shop. The restaurant is also located next to a small stream. There are no air-conditioned room, but have many fans inside the room and on the tables next to the stream, so it was not that hot. All menu items, including the recommended coconut noodles, rice bowls, and grilled pork yam salad, are seasoned well and delicious. It was the weekend, so there were a lot of tourist customers, but serving time was quick, too. After eating, you can have fun at the Japanese-style archery range right next to it. We will surely visit again and highly recommend stopping by if you visit Amphawa Market na krup~!😊

The food : I ate noodle and Padthai. It was too sweet even my brother usually love eating sweet. But the pork was really good I like it. The surroundings : I like the song and the decorations. But one thing that needs to change is the Label in front of the place.I can rarely see the label it was so tiny.So let make it bigger or even make some photos of your BEST SELLER dish. This is all I can recommend from my point of view (prospect's view). I want to help other people.

Bangnoi Floating Market

Market
Bangnoi Floating Market is a charming attraction near Mae Klong Train Station, featuring local vendors offering reasonably priced goods and food. The market operates on specific lunar calendar days and weekends, providing a cozy and calm atmosphere away from commercialization. Visitors can enjoy traditional architecture, inexpensive food, and drinks while exploring the area. Additionally, the market offers a hipster ambiance with opportunities to indulge in craft coffee or receive a relaxing massage.
This place is magic.one of the last original floating market setup, with beautiful surroundings and a small little AirbnB front the canal.

This could be such a nice old riverside market, but it fails to attract sufficient tourists and remains overshadowed by the much more popular Amphawa floating market.

The best for me and it's friendly local vendors with reasonable price. I'd love to recommend Pad Thai by Auntie Khaek(Paa' Khaek). Her stall is quite like rare gems which you have to cross the bridge to another side ..... If you heard like someone is singing karaoke, just follow that sound.

Less people than Ampawa market. Smaller but more peaceful. There's a walkway with roof along the river, leading to another temple. Do enjoy a walk there if you have time.

Wat Bangkhae Noi is a unique and beautiful temple located in Thailand. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior of the temple is adorned with intricate teak wood carvings that make it stand out among other temples in the country. Situated near a river, the temple offers a serene atmosphere and picturesque surroundings for visitors to enjoy. The carved teakwood structures, both inside and outside the temple, are truly remarkable and provide an opportunity for stunning photography.
The carved teakwood bot or ubosot (the main prayer hall) at Bang Khae Noi Temple is very spectacular. Thai carving work is second to none. A temple visit is worth spending time, not only getting ourselves peaceful minds but also experiencing the long history of the nation.

The restaurant at Ban Amphawa Resort & Spa offers exceptional service and a beautiful setting. The staff promptly called when they anticipated a guest missing breakfast, which typically concludes at 10 AM. They even accommodated the Chinese Vegan Festival by providing vegan options. Patrons can savor delicious local cuisine amidst the tranquil backdrop of a riverbank. While prices may be relatively high, they are reasonable considering the quality of food offered. Dishes featuring Thai Mackerel come highly recommended.

Wat Bangkapom School, an ancient temple dating back to the late Ayutthaya period, boasts stunning bas-relief murals and numerous Buddha images enshrined within. The temple also houses a large replica of the Buddha's footprint from the Thonburi period, featuring four overlapping footprints of Lord Buddha. Additionally, visitors can admire the magnificent statue of Luang Phor Kong located 400 meters away with a picturesque river view.
(Translated by Google) An old temple built in the late Ayutthaya period. There are unusually beautiful bas-relief murals. Inside the temple, Buddha images are enshrined all around. There is also a large replica of the Buddha's footprint built during the Thonburi period. The highlight is that there are four overlapping footprints of the Lord Buddha. The deepest mark was a very beautiful pearl-covered plant. You should find an opportunity to pay homage at least once in your life... It's beauty is very mesmerizing. There are 4 large Buddha footprints, including those of Kakusantho made by a chicken, Konakamano made by a naga, Kassapo made by a turtle, and Phra Gotomo made by a cow. They are beautiful. There are different sizes. From large to small Because it is believed that humans at that time should have a large body and later humans were smaller. I have to say that I couldn't walk all the way. Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram is a serene temple nestled within the bustling Ampawan Floating Market. The best way to reach it is by boat, offering a glimpse of local life and riverside temples like Wat Bang Khae Yai. In the evening, visitors can witness enchanting fireflies along the waterways. This historic site was once home to King Rama II and his queen, featuring exquisite wall paintings and ancient Buddha statues.
Historical temple built more than 200 years ago. The parking fee is 30 baht. Don’t forget to visit the King Rama II museum in the same area where you can see how Thai people used to live in early Rattanakosin era.

Another fine example of how Thais take care of their religious sites. A well tended temple, very beautiful and open to everyone. As long as you show respect and wear appropriate clothes, you'll be more than welcome here.

This is a secret quiet temple located in the middle of well-known float market "Ampawan Float Market". As mentioned by one aunty living around there, there is very few tourist visiting here. Most of them walk-by to visit the market. What a pity!! Very beautiful wall painting, Very nice old-aged Buddha statue and this is the old important palace which King Rama2 had been delivered and natured until 2 years old before moving to the grand palace.
Annifu P — Google review
One of the best floating market but little far from bangkok, nearly onehour away but worth visiting and things are cheap and fresh in market specially fruits, for parking I would advise everyone to park at temple for free or else private lots will charge 40 baht and distance from private lot is actually bit far than compared to temple, actually starting point of market from other side is where temple is.

If you find yourself exploring the vibrant Amphawa Floating Market and its neighboring attractions, make sure to carve out some time for the Thai Dessert Museum. This delightful spot is a haven for dessert lovers, showcasing an impressive collection of sweet treats from across Thailand. The museum not only preserves traditional recipes but also highlights the rich culinary heritage of Thai desserts. It's a fantastic way to deepen your appreciation for this country's diverse flavors while satisfying any lingering cravings after indulging in local cuisine at nearby markets.
Is it really closed? I'm planning to go for a visit next month...

Maeklong Railway Market

Market
Maeklong Railway Market, located in Samut Songkhram, Thailand, is a one-of-a-kind market that operates along active train tracks. Visitors can witness the market stalls being quickly folded away to make room for passing trains. The experience of shopping and dining amidst the railway tracks is truly unique. It's recommended to check the train schedule to witness this fascinating sight. Additionally, nearby Damnoen Saduak Floating Market offers another vibrant shopping and culinary experience with its boat vendors.
A rather unique market where some of the stalls are literally set up on the railway track. So when the train to and flo, the stall owners have to retrieve and reset their stall shelter each time the train go past. In the earlier days, most of the stall are wet market stalls selling live and fresh fish, smoke fishes, vegetables and fruits, spices and sauces, butcher with their pork and meat, fresh chickens stall etc. But recently there are more stalls retailing clothes and other accessories. As the train and the stalls are in very close proximity (touching distance) be very careful where you stand to watch the train pass. Can be warm. Morning is the best time to visit.

One of the best places to buy Thai handmade products at super affordable prices, definitely cheaper than the floating markets or Bangkok! For example, coconuts that usually go for ฿80–100 in Bangkok were just ฿20 here We were given about an hour to explore the market and managed to catch the train coming and going — around 11:10 am and 11:30 am. Just a friendly reminder: please stand behind the red line when the train approaches — it gets really close! And don’t be that person who blocks others who’ve already “chope-d” their spot for photos or videos. Let everyone enjoy the moment too!

Super touristy, buuut it's such a fun spot you don't wanna miss. The whole thing is pretty wild, stalls set tight by the tracks, then when the train rolls in, everyone scrambles to pull back their stuff. A few minutes later, everything's back like nothing happened. About 1,5 - 2 hours from Bangkok, so a half day trip works perfectly. Best move is to get there around 11 AM, the train comes in at 11:15 and passes back at 11:30, sooo you actually see it twice 😉.

Visiting Maeklong Railway Market is truly one of the most unique and memorable experiences in Thailand. The market is set directly along active railway tracks, and watching the vendors quickly retract their umbrellas and move goods aside as the train approaches is both exciting and surprising. We arrived early enough to explore the stalls before the train came through. The market is filled with local produce, seafood, snacks, and souvenirs, giving a real taste of everyday Thai life. When the train finally arrived, everyone gathered near the tracks — cameras ready — and the entire scene transformed within seconds. Despite being a popular tourist attraction, the market still maintains its local charm. Vendors go about their routine calmly, even as visitors marvel at the spectacle. It’s a short but must-do experience if you’re exploring the area — where else can you shop on a railway line and watch a train roll past just inches away? 🚆✨
Crumpled N — Google review
Definitely a tourist trap, not worth the 2-hour trip from Bangkok. The place has completely lost its original charm. What you’ll find is an overcrowded souvenir market and a few overpriced coffee shops. Vendors start closing their stalls and removing the tents about 30 minutes before the train comes, and many of them even pull down the shutters. When the train passes — very slowly and honking constantly — tons of tourists line up on both sides to take photos and selfies, making the whole experience feel artificial and staged.
Maia C — Google review
This was a unique experience. Its not that common for a train to run through the middle of a narrow market and as a tourist you are within inches of it as it passes. Worth the visit. Check the train time table before arriving. If you want tourist free shopping at the market get there about 60 to 90 mins before the next scheduled train. When the train is due to arrive it is crazy busy. The food and variety of goods at the market is excellent and great prices too.
Gary T — Google review
Great experience. However, VERY touristic, crowded no matter when you go and quite risky. Some tourists stand in front of the train which is honestly impulsive and rude so I'd recommend to be the nicest version of yourself in there. You'll find anything (souvenirs and food) for a cheap price! Great place, my only downside would be the not-so-nice tourists and that it's quite a long distance from bangkok with little public transport options (as far as I know). If you go to he pier you'll see fake train to take pics with and I even saw a small exhibition.
Mery — Google review
Wow, this is a thing to witness, the Thai traders are well practised in removing their shop fronts just before the train arrives, the train of course goes very slowly, and there is a red line to stand behind ...top notch H and S.. Where else can you shake hands with the passengers as the train passes? The cafes are decent as well An exciting visit!

The provincial capital is home to the Chang-Eng Siamese Twins Memorial, honoring the famous conjoined twins.
