Basilica di San Lorenzo, a landmark Renaissance church in Florence, is known as the burial place of the Medici family. The church features an unfinished facade designed by Michelangelo and a library he also designed. It was originally built in the 4th century and later transformed into a magnificent Renaissance building by Filippo Brunelleschi from 1377 to 1446. Inside, visitors can admire Brunelleschi's Sagrestia Vecchia with sculptural decoration by Donatello.
A very beautiful basilica, both the main building and the crypt which hosts a small museum of sorts. Some stunning murals and sculptures. Not too crowded.
Quentin M — Google review
Pretty disappointing I thought. For 9 euros I was expecting something pretty spectacular but it is nothing exceptional. I thought the courtyard was the best part. The basement isn't a crypt but a museum of altar pieces and robes. There is a toilet in the bookstore (off the courtyard) that costs 1 euro but it only takes 1 and 2 euro coins. Just duck under the turnstile to get in. Trivia - The front of the building looks odd since it is the back wall to a marble facade that was never added.
Mark P — Google review
We didn’t go inside the Basilica di San Lorenzo, but the outdoor area was lovely. You can sit on the stairs and enjoy the atmosphere while different street singers and musicians perform for tourists. It’s a lively and relaxing spot to take a short break and soak up the Florence vibe!
Najmeh S — Google review
The Basilica di San Lorenzo (Basilica of St. Lawrence) is one of the largest churches of Florence, Italy, situated at the centre of the main market district of the city, and it is the burial place of all the principal members of the Medici family from Cosimo il Vecchio to Cosimo III. It is one of several churches that claim to be the oldest in Florence, having been consecrated in 393 AD,[1] at which time it stood outside the city walls. For three hundred years it was the city's cathedral, before the official seat of the bishop was transferred to Santa Reparata. San Lorenzo was the parish church of the Medici family. In 1419, Giovanni di Bicci de' Medici offered to finance a new church to replace an eleventh-century Romanesque rebuilding. Filippo Brunelleschi, the leading Renaissance architect of the first half of the fifteenth century, was commissioned to design it, but the building, with alterations, was not completed until after his death. The church is part of a larger monastic complex that contains other important architectural and artistic works: the Old Sacristy (Sagresta Vecchia) by Brunelleschi and having interior decoration and sculpture by Donatello; the Laurentian Library by Michelangelo; the Medici Chapels, two structures that include the New Sacristy (Sagrestia Nuova) based on Michelangelo's designs; and the larger Cappella dei Principi ("Chapel of the Princes") being a collaboration between the family and architects.

📍 Basilica di San Lorenzo – Florence, Italy 🇮🇹 We didn’t go inside, but the square outside is lively and full of atmosphere 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️. People stroll through, browse the market stalls 🛍️, and enjoy cafés ☕ around the basilica. The unfinished façade looks plain compared to other Florentine churches, but it’s still an interesting landmark to see while walking the area. A vibrant spot for soaking in local life, even without entering. 🙌

May 2025. We were not able to explore much but were able to attend Sunday Mass. It was also the first Church we entered in Italy so it was a nice intro to the beauty that awaited us.

Donatello was buried here. Top 10 to visit history and heritage sites of Florence
Orest M — Google review
TLDR: Will recommend it to someone who is familiar with Medici, but not so much to those not interested in Medici history. No wait, no need to buy ticket in advance Ticket of San Lorenzo Basilica and Medici Chapel is SEPARATED. You gotta enter from a different entrance if hou wanna visit Medici Chapel The interior is not as "impressive" as other Basilica you may have visited. But you can find Donetallo, Cosimo the Elder tomb here, so i would definitely recommend it to people into Medici (if you don't know who I am talking about, i probably won't recommend it lol). ( Lorenzo the Magnificent and his brother tomb is in Medici Chapel.)

Piazza della Santissima Annunziata is a stunning example of Renaissance architecture, featuring elegant porticoes and a striking central statue of Ferdinando I. This iconic square serves as a backdrop for the vibrant 'rificolona' festival, which celebrates the arrival of visitors from the Casentino and Pistoia mountains. As they journeyed to Florence, these travelers illuminated their path with colorful lanterns, creating a magical atmosphere in both the countryside and city streets.
Piazza della Santissima Annunziata is one of Florence's most charming and historically rich squares. Located near the Duomo, it exudes Renaissance elegance with its harmonious architecture. The square is dominated by Brunelleschi's symmetrical porticoes, notably the Ospedale degli Innocenti, which served as a pioneering orphanage. At the center stands an equestrian statue of Grand Duke Ferdinand I, surrounded by ornate fountains. The piazza is a peaceful spot to soak in Florence's artistic heritage, and its proximity to the Basilica of Santissima Annunziata adds spiritual and architectural significance. Ideal for a leisurely visit, it captures the essence of Florence's beauty and history.

This was a meeting spot for a walking tour of Florence. The highlight is the statue of Ferdinando dei Medici on a horse. A nice little piazza with an amazing statue.

This is a fairly elegant public square in the Historic Centre of Florence where you find the impressive Basilica della SS Annunziata. The square is also the location of the Hospital and museum of the Innocents, National Archaeological Museum, impressive Mannerism fountains and equestrian statue of Ferninando I. It is a nice place to pass by and spend a bit of time while sightseeing around Florence.

One of the most beautiful and fascinating squares in Florence, surrounded by historical buildings and in front of the wonderful basilica. An equestrian monument of the Grand Duke Ferdinand I shares the space with two amazing bronze fountains by Pietro Tacca.

Interesting! The Basilica della Santissima Annunziata - Chiesa di Santa Maria della Scala is in this square. There are others interesting buildings around. The Fontana Del Tacca (Tacca fountain) is located at this square. One strange thing is the fact that there aren't trees there.

Villa Vrindavana is a spiritual and religious center located in Val di Pesa, Italy. It is housed in a charming Renaissance villa and serves as the main center for the Hare Krishna movement in the country. Founded by Acarya A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, it features a Hindu temple with idols of Shri Radha and Shri Krishna.
A perfect place to connect with Krishna!! Amazing vibes and a soul stirring experience.
Chirag M — Google review
A beautiful medieval villa now set in the Tuscan countryside a stones throw away from Florence. It is a spiritual oasis with a temple and museum of the Hare Krishna movement (ISKCON). They also have about 10 cows which they care for and protect. Kids will love feeding them. The wonderful museum has paintings depicting scenes from the Mahabharata and other activities of Krishna. The food was divine. Fresh and completely vegetarian or vegan. Arrange a taxi by emailing the temple on or visit their website. Time your visit according to the scheduled tours if possible.

Probably the most beautiful Hari Krishna temple in the world! Beautiful landscapes, comfortable rooms and dormitories, amazing temple where the devotees are always singing the Hari Krishna Maha Mantra! Great place for retreats, but bring your own food because the main Indian cook doesn’t know how to cook 😉
Phanendra D — Google review
An amazing place in the beautiful Tuscanese countryside, only a few minutes drive from Florence. The buildings are so beautiful. My favourite part is the temple room with the incredibly beautiful deities.
Nimai T — Google review
This is a kind of spiritual place because there is one hindu temple inside this property...it belongs to the ISKCON organisation. So, the idols that are situated inside the temple are of Shri Radha and Shri Krishna and their family. I went there on the occasion of the Durga Puja festival...it was an amazing experience....the main activities in which I was able to participate were Sandhya aarti of Gau mata and Sandhya aarti of Shri Radha and Krishna... timings were 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm respectively.... After the Aarti they served Prasad which was also very delicious. We came back home at around 8:30 pm.. The only problem is that there is no public transport which can take you there....you can reach there only by your own car or something.
Krishnanand T — Google review
This place is simply beautiful!!! The epitome of how worship and Italy can combine to give a beautiful experience for all who wish to enjoy it. The gardens and villa are beautiful with breathtaking scenery all around. When I went there was also an amazing art work exhibition on. I didn't get a chance to eat at Govindas restaurant but I'm sure that is just as good!! Hare Krishna!

Amazing spiritual community with genuine contemporary practitioners. They also have their own cows and milk. Very nice vegetarian food. A bit hard to reach by public transportation. But some busses are there. Make sure you keep the schedule in mind when you venture into town. Otherwise, you might not be able to get back to the Villa in the evening.

(Translated by Google) We attended Chiara Francini's show last night. First of all we found ourselves in the box on high and very uncomfortable stools, especially for a no longer young person, then one of our seats, the best one, was already occupied by a season ticket holder, so it had already been sold; the staff was courteous and tried to accommodate us anyway but it didn't seem like an acceptable service to me. Finally, the show seemed really too short and quite "poor", both in terms of script and scenography, I really expected more from an actress like Chiara Francini. Sin! Peccato!

Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Castello di Gabbiano is a stunning B&B that combines the charm of a historic castle with modern comforts. Dating back to the 12th century, this enchanting property features unique rounded towers and beautifully restored interiors showcasing original terracotta tiles and grand fireplaces. Surrounded by lush Chianti countryside filled with rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves, it offers an idyllic setting for relaxation or exploration.
We had a wine tasting here. The view was picturesque and the wine cellar was under the street in a castle. my kids had a great experience with the walk through. The bathrooms were very clean. The descriptions by our guide were colorful and full of personality. Highly recommend the wine tasting experience for these reasons.

The castle was truly beautiful, and the staff were energetic and kind. I was completely enchanted by the elegance that comes with age, and I had such a joyful time during our two-night stay. From the winery tour to the restaurant and the pool — we enjoyed every part of the facilities and had a truly relaxing holiday. This stay allowed me to fully take in the beauty of la regione del Chianti in Toscana — memories from Castello di Gabbiano that we will treasure for years to come.

If you are looking for an authentic gem in the middle of the Tuscany Valley then this Castle with its scenic view of lush hills and farms is as good as it gets. Beautiful! Mixed with an exquisite swimming pool and Mediterranean gardens, this is the place to be for wine, dine and relax in your luxury vacation.

An unforgettable experience at Castello di Gabbiano! The wine here is absolutely incredible — beautifully balanced, expressive, and true to the heart of Chianti. Our tasting with Simone was the highlight of our visit; he was knowledgeable, welcoming, and passionate about sharing both the history of the estate and the craft behind each wine. The setting itself is stunning, with panoramic vineyard views that feel straight out of a painting. I can’t wait to return and stay at the property next time. Thank you to Simone and the entire team for such a memorable and authentic Tuscan experience!

We had an amazing 6 nights with our family in the apartments which are just down the hill from the castle. It was very hot so we spent a lot of time at the awesome pool which overlooks the vineyards. Highly recommend the on site restaurant & the wine tour. Staff were super friendly & very helpful. Overall we loved our stay!

I booked Castello di Gabbiano with high hopes based on all the positive reviews. In fact, it somehow exceeded my high expectations. The place is gorgeous, the views are impossibly beautiful, and the staff were amazing and friendly. The breakfast spread was first class and local, and there is an honor bar at the pool that serves both snacks and the Castello’s own wines as well as beer and other drinks. Gabbiano was the highlight of our recent two weeks in Italy and I would definitely return the next time I find myself in Chianti. Book this place if you can.

We did the wine tasting with Simone. The tour was excellent and the wine even better. We learnt a lot about tuscany wine from Simone as well! Their olive oil also a must try! Thank you Simone

We spent 2 nights here and we couldn't be happier with our stay. We booked a family room which was situated in a building close to the castle. It had one double bed on the middle floor and one bed each on the lower and upper floors. There was one bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The pool att the castle was really nice, with an honesty bar right next to it where you could get ice cream and drinks. In the afternoons, complementary coffee and pastry was available. The staff was excellent and very service minded.

Il Cavaliere is a top-notch eatery that offers exceptional service and inventive cuisine. As a large group, we had the opportunity to try nearly all of their appetizers, pastas, and desserts, all of which were phenomenal. They boast an extensive wine selection, with particular emphasis on their own labels that complemented the dishes splendidly. The terrace is simply stunning, providing most tables with breathtaking views of the picturesque Chianti countryside. The staff was exceptionally warm and fluent in English.
🍝🇮🇹🍷 Il Cavaliere, the fine dining restaurant at Castello di Gabbiano in Florence, offers an unforgettable culinary experience in the heart of Tuscany. Surrounded by the castle’s rolling vineyards, the ambiance is as inviting as the menu, blending rustic charm with refined elegance. The highlight of any meal here is undoubtedly the homemade pasta, a true testament to Italian culinary artistry. Each dish is prepared with fresh, local ingredients, perfectly balancing traditional flavors with modern techniques. From rich, creamy sauces to perfectly al dente textures, every bite is a celebration of authentic Tuscan cuisine. The desserts are equally remarkable, crafted with the same level of care and creativity. Whether it’s a decadent tiramisu or a seasonal fruit tart, the sweet offerings are the perfect way to end your meal on a high note. Paired with the estate’s exceptional wines, the dining experience at Il Cavaliere is elevated to a new level. The attentive service and warm hospitality further enhance the evening, making it truly special. Reservations are essential, as this 5-star restaurant is a destination in itself. Il Cavaliere is a must-visit for anyone seeking a refined taste of Tuscany in an enchanting setting.

This was, without a doubt, the best restaurant I visited during my trip to Italy. I actually ended up having dinner here on both nights I was in the area. On the first evening, I ordered à la carte from the regular menu. On the second night, I came back as part of the «Winery Tour & Gourmet Dinner» experience offered by Castello di Gabbiano, and enjoyed a full course meal with wine pairing. Both dinners were absolutely fantastic. The staff were genuinely kind and full of good energy, which made the experience even more memorable. Our whole family agreed that this was the best restaurant of our entire trip. Out of all the wonderful dishes, the ones that truly stole my heart were the «scallop, peas, mortadella, and onion ice cream» from the first night, and the «crispy beef, honey mustard, and pickled vegetables» from the second. Unforgettable flavors. I don’t know when we’ll get the chance to come back to Italy all together again, but if we do, this is the first place I want to revisit. It was such a meaningful and unforgettable experience. Can’t wait to come back here🍀♥️💭

Fun & interesting dining experience. This was far out of our comfort zone in terms of menu and dining experience and we were all pleasantly surprised! Our group did a winery tour followed by lunch at the restaurant where they curated a preset menu for us to enjoy with tastings of their wine. There was something for everyone in our group and it was much more about the experience and atmosphere for us. It was worth the price in our opinion for the tour, tastings, and lunch. Highly recommend for families or a group! Also very easy to work with if you have any allergies or intolerances.

Cinque di Vino is a charming restaurant located in the village of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, nestled in the beautiful Chianti hills. Visitors have raved about their friendly service and lovely outdoor seating by the park. The food is described as homestyle cooking at its finest, with standout dishes including pastas and Sylvia's desserts. One highlight for many was trying the florentine steak, which was cooked to perfection and served with generous sides.
Honestly my favorite restaurant experience I’ve ever had. It’s been 2 years and I still think of it, and have finally gotten around to a review. The service and the food both outstanding. Marco went through the menu and recommended dishes and in what order to eat them based on what we wanted. The best olive oil I’ve tasted, I bought a bottle to bring home. The onion soup was delicious. They went above and beyond. We went twice while we were in the area. I just loved it.

The very first stop on our amazing Tuscany trip was this restaurant 🍷🍝, recommended by a local from Florence. They said it had authentic Tuscan food — and they were absolutely right. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt like the true spirit of Tuscany: a cozy old Italian restaurant with regional wines and fresh dishes. The manager and staff were incredibly warm and welcoming 🤗, which made the whole experience even more memorable. The pasta was delicious, the dessert was perfect, and the wine from the area was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. It really felt like a little piece of heaven ✨ I’ll always remember this place as one of the sweetest highlights of my time in Italy and Tuscany ❤️.

Wonderful family run restaurant in Tuscany. I had the pleasure of chatting with Marco the owner and getting to know him and the family. They put so much love and effort into the experience, it really shows! I had the olive oil tasting which was sensational and the chicken which was juicy, spicy and delicious. The wine was wonderful and the service was some of the best you’ll receive in Italy!

This is a beautiful, authentic, small, family-run restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed by the chef himself, who greeted us with a big smile and seated us at our table. He explained every dish in great detail and made sure we felt completely at home. I had already planned to try the Florentine steak—and I have zero regrets. It was, without a doubt, the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. In fact, out of our entire trip to Italy, this was the most delicious meal both my wife and I had. No question about it. Highly recommended! Warm, cozy vibes and truly unforgettable food

We made reservation from the website (it was good decision because inside was full afterwards) , the owners welcomed us on our arrival . The first beautiful thing that I loved is this smile that you see on their face . Secondly Maya took care of us during the night and was so patient and helpful with my 50 questions about wine and food :) . We felt like we are having dinner at home warmness. Food was delicious. Price was moderate. We left there so amused . I highly recommend this place . Thank you for hospitality .

Love this place, have visited many times. Unfortunately I have never been lucky enough to get a table near the window overlooking the woods. The fried porcini and sage crème brûlée are not to be missed!

If you can get a table, take it! We wanted to leave the crowds and tourists of Florence and experience real Tuscany. Loved that the menu was all in Italian. Loved that we were the only non-Italians in the restaurant. Every course we had was exceptional. Beyond delicious! The owner and his wife Cristina were lovely. They are wonderful hosts who make you feel like a friend immediately. Will definitely be back. Tuscany at its finest ❤️🫶🏻

I order a bowl of salad which was consist of lettuce, some piece of carrots and chopped cherry tomatoes for 8 or 9 Euro, but before I finished my salad I found a piece of curly hair on the bottom of the salad bowl. The owner apologized but didn’t take it off from the bill.

Our innkeeper recommended this restaurant. We were looking for traditional bistecca Florentine style. We were warmly welcomed. The restaurant is beautiful, in a natural environment. We sat outside on a lovely evening. The menu was carefully explained to us in English. Ourfood was delicious and we enjoyed one of the best bottles of wine we have had, recommended by the hostess.

La Locanda Il Gabbiano is a charming haven that truly embodies the warmth of Tuscan hospitality. The owners are incredibly welcoming and eager to assist, making every guest feel right at home. The spacious and clean rooms provide a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. Dining here is an experience not to be missed; the chef crafts delightful traditional Tuscan dishes, with crispy slices being a standout favorite among visitors. Don't forget to indulge in their exquisite tiramisu for dessert!
Very friendly owner, even though he doesn't speak much English he is very helpful. They sell olive oil and wine...plus the food is good. I certainly recommend the restaurant plus the accommodation. Nice B&B 😊

You can discover a comprehensive selection of dishes and beverages available at La Cantinetta Delnonno in San Casciano. The menu comprises 31 options, all of which can be found on the restaurant's website. If you're interested in the changing offers, it is advisable to contact the owner via phone or through the provided contact information on their website. Patrons have praised the stunning views offered by this establishment, as well as its spacious and brightly lit dining area that avoids overwhelming with excessive colors.
This place is awesome. You have an amazing view. The food is really good. The service is great, our waiters last sunday 24/02 were really professional. The menu isn’t all Tuscan which is nice for a change.

It's about 20 minutes by car from Florence, on the hills, with a beautiful landscape. So, the view is wonderful. The restaurant is part of a hotel with a swimming pool and a Finnish sauna. The dishes they serve aren't really typical of Tuscany, but they're very tasty and fresh. The service is smart, the waiters and waitresses are really kind and nice.

Had 2 meals here, the views are stunning! The dining area is light, airy and not overcrowded with colours to distract from the real view. Staff very friendly, gave us recommendations on what to have. Our meal was good although my risotto was disappointing. Second night we went for the BBQ buffet evening, food was great, meat tender and plenty of it, all cooked in front of us. Overall good but not the 5 stars I’m afraid as it didn’t awaken my taste buds.

Food was not great. We struggled to cut the pork with a butter knife the entire night and were unable to get our server’s attention to ask for a sharper knife. The gnudi dish was not good and was lost in the cream sauce. There are also way too many plants everywhere hitting me in the face as I was eating and making it very dark and hot. Wouldn’t go again.

The food was amazing. I had eggplant Parmesan. It was the best I’ve ever had! I did pay an extra $10 per person for the sunset experience with a cocktail and snacks with a special area for enjoying these things but when we got into the restaurant some of the staff were not aware of that.

Day 2

Off the beaten path
For day 2, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Antinori nel Chianti Classico. Not quite as popular as Torre Del Chianti, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Antinori nel Chianti Classico is a modern winery nestled in the Tuscan hills, blending innovative eco-friendly architecture with the surrounding landscape. The winery, overseen by Marchese Piero Antinori and his daughters, features a contemporary design using materials like wood and terra cotta. Visitors can explore the museum, art gallery, cellar, shop, and rooftop restaurant offering gourmet pairing menus.
One of the best experiences we had on our trip to Italy. The winery is so well designed and very unique! The views with the beautiful staircase and the picturesque background of the rural Tuscan region is breathtaking. The tour of the winery was well organized and offered lots of history and knowledge as to how a winery gets a DOCG certification on their wine bottles. They have been creating and selling wine for almost 700 years! The wine tasting portion of the tour was excellent, I do wish they they did provide us with cheese and meats to eat with our wine from the region to know that the wine pairs well with and because the tour is a little lengthy and you do build up an appetite. The restaurant at the top of the winery closes at 4pm so if you want to eat after the tour be mindful of this and try to grab an early tour. Overall, a wonderful experience! Would love to return one day to enjoy the restaurant with a beautiful view of Tuscany.

Visiting Antinori was an amazing experience. The building is exceptional, and the history of the winery and the Antinori family is fascinating—the whole vibe really takes you back in time. The restaurant is beautiful and adds to the experience. My only downside was that our guide struggled with English, which made the tour slow and a bit tiring, and I feel I didn’t get as much information as I had hoped. Despite this, it’s still a highly recommended visit in Tuscany!

An unforgettable experience! The architecture alone made the visit worthwhile—simply stunning. We had the Cru tasting and lunch, held in the barrel cellar (unf8not not the glass cube). The tasting was performed very well, with a thoughtful storyline accompanying each wine. There was great attention to identifying flavors, making it accessible for less experienced wine lovers, while also offering seasoned enthusiasts a fascinating glimpse into the workings of a large winery and a chance to taste high-quality select wines. Lunch was delicious, with excellent wine pairings, and the service remained friendly and accommodating despite the high volume of visitors.

The Bottaia tour was extremely informative and truly worthwhile. Our guide did an excellent job, making the experience both engaging and enjoyable. The architecture of the winery was absolutely breathtaking—a real highlight for both wine enthusiasts and architecture lovers.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Antinori nel Chianti Classico winery. The service was incredibly warm and personal, which is truly impressive for a place of this size. It really shows that when a business is family-run, you get a completely different level of care and attention. The winery itself is beautiful, the wines we tasted were fantastic, and the food was delicious. It’s absolutely worth every cent if you’re visiting Tuscany. You can have a really amazing experience here.
Hyssa F — Google review
It was an absolutely astonishing piece of architecture where the vineyard made the roof and the entire building merged with the nature landscape. It gives a nice modern and edgy atmosphere to wine tasting. The wine was amazing and the staff was very professional in helping non-Italian speakers like us. Only downside was the carpark is a bit far away which would be challenging for elderly.
Thomas L — Google review
If you are into wine as we are, this is a must do when coming to Tuscany. Anyone commenting about price and or value, is clearly not taking into context the size of this vineyard and winery and how much Antinori has done. Basically, if you are cheap, don't come here! If you are paying attention during the video or even listening to folks while roaming about, he built this place for a hundred plus years and generations to come not to wither away in the next 30 or 40 and need a million repairs. We went with the highest tier tour that allowed us to sample many of their well known wines from all of the region and ended with a lunch.Overall, we had a great tour guide and very much enjoyed learning about the different terroirs and history. Of course we ended with an amazing tasting session and above all I just loved the Chianti Classico and is exactly what we came here for. In terms of transportation, while many people are staying in different agritismos, we stayed in Central Florence. If you are smart, you find someone such as a couple to taxi in with. We paid €60 for a ride from our hotel. However, we did have to get a taxi afterwards and because that gentleman had to come pick us up, it was closer to a hundred euros to get back. I suggested, we connected with a couple that was on our tour and split it so it was the same going as coming. Of course a zillion people will tell you to drive and to enjoy Tuscany. To each their own. We found our 3 days in Florence great with a day trip to Bologna and two in the Florence area. Overall, we had the most wonderful time here. The lunch was spectacular afterwards with an additional tastings for the tour we booked. Also, the waiting staff did not skimp on coming by our table and tapping off some of our glasses. The Rinucci lunch inclusive lunch was great except for the last course, their dessert for sure could use some work. Thank you Vito from Naples for an informative and engaging tour.

Absolutely amazing experience! Going into the cellar was like a religious experience. The wine tasting was so fun - discovering some news wines for us. And the restaurant is an absolute must. If you like wine and consider yourself an aficionado, you must go to Antinori!

Castle
Castello di Bibbione is a historic castle-turned-farmstay nestled in the Montefiridolfi area of Chianti, dating back to the 10th century. This refined property offers elegant accommodations, including apartments and holiday homes with rustic Tuscan charm. Guests can enjoy amenities such as an outdoor pool with stunning panoramic views, a spa for relaxation, and a charming courtyard. The castle also serves as a picturesque wedding venue, featuring a Romanesque church at its foot.
Castello di Bibbione in Tuscany is an absolutely breathtaking wedding venue! The views are insane – rolling hills as far as the eye can see, giving that classic Tuscan countryside feel. The courtyard is beautiful, perfect for an intimate ceremony or reception, and the art hanging on the walls inside adds so much character to the place. The garden overlooking the stunning scenery is a dream setting, especially at sunset. The friendly staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, making sure everything runs smoothly. As wedding photographers, we absolutely loved working at Castello di Bibbione. The scenery is like a painting, and it offers endless opportunities for capturing unforgettable moments. If you're looking for a romantic and picturesque venue in Tuscany, Castello di Bibbione is a perfect choice!

My husband and I had the privilege of hosting our destination wedding at Castello di Bibbione, in early June The historic property is breathtaking with picturesque views, pools, trails, and quaint accommodations. The wedding was incredible and the perfect place to spend quality time with our friends and family! The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating throughout our welcome party, ceremony, reception, and brunch. The breakfast service was incredible and our guests enjoyed the pools, yoga class, and bike rentals. I wanted to provide updated insights to the security issues mentioned in other reviews - We asked the staff about the reviews prior to the event and they walked us through the various measures they took to enhance security on the property. At check in they ensured we knew how to lock the doors and windows. Each room has a safe with printed instructions. We saw several security cameras and private security monitoring the venue over night. We felt very safe and secure during our stay! I highly recommend Castello di Bibbione for weddings and even a weekend getaway. It was an honor to have just a beautiful place be such an important part of our lives and we hope to return in the future ❤️

Christiana at the front desk was great, as well was Francesca who prepared our breakfasts. Other than that, this place was a disappointment. Beds were hard, toilet didn't have a seat on it, no shower curtain leading to a soaked bathroom floor every time we showered. Bedroom had 3 hangers in the closet. For a place in wine country, it had a total of 3 oddly shaped wine glasses. Sorry but I would not recommend this place. They need to take a step back and reassess things.

We had the immense joy to have had our wedding at the beautiful Castello Di Bibbione- everything from the venue, setting and staff were complete perfection. The grounds are simply breath taking, the rooms are all incredibly authentic and beautiful. Both of us and our guests had the weekend of a lifetime. We most definitely will be returning for years to come.

Me and my wife stayed here and was robbed the first night, as we were sleeping. Door locks are terrible and there are no bars on the windows and NO air conditioning. Owner is a con artist and didn’t even return the money for the room. Stopped answering emails and calls but drives around in a Lamborghini. Seems like he set up the robbery
Michael S — Google review
I had high expectations for our stay at the castle, but unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of a nightmare. On the very first night, we were robbed while we were sleeping in our room. Waking up to discover that our personal belongings had been stolen was terrifying and left us feeling completely violated. What made this even worse was the lack of security measures. For a place that markets itself as a historical and luxurious retreat, there were no cameras or security in the premises . the staff’s response to the situation was disappointing. They seemed like they didn’t care , which added to our frustration. While the castle itself is beautiful and the surroundings are picturesque, the experience of being robbed ruined any positive aspects of our stay. It also ruined my best friend wedding day, waking up to find out all her guest were robbed was heartbreaking to the point she didn’t even want to get married . I would advise anyone considering this location to think twice and be cautious, as the safety and security of guests should always be the top priority.
Bianca L — Google review
While the location is stunningly beautiful, I strongly advise against staying there due to a series of unfortunate events. On the first day, my friend's wedding party was robbed, with thieves making off with cash, jewelry, and luxury bags from the guest buildings. Despite being aware of the robberies, the staff failed to warn us at check-in. Their response to the incident was inadequate, simply stating that windows should have been closed to prevent the theft. No compensation or empathy was offered, which marred my friend's special day. The lack of security cameras and air conditioning (only fans were provided) further exacerbates the risks. The owner and staff took no accountability for the robbery, leading us to leave the premises the same night. Unfortunately, this place has serious safety concerns.
Yumary C — Google review
Everything was fine but we were burgled on day 1. No option to store valuables safely in either a room safe or the reception. Would cost £30 per room to buy a cheap safe and bolt to wall. Lost an irreplaceable family heirloom - could have been so easily avoided. No security on site at all either. Such a shame.

This stunning villa not only boasts beautiful architecture but also serves as a hub for culinary and wine enthusiasts. A highlight of any visit is the private cooking class led by Eduardo, a master chef who shares his expertise on sustainable food practices while guiding guests through creating delectable dishes paired with exquisite wines.
We booked lunch here but we were an hour early. We finished the tour and then had a lovely lunch al fresco with wine that was delicious too. Great customer service. Thank you!!

Very nice winery in the chianti classico region. We tasted the sparkling rose, the chianti classico and the chianti classico gran selezione. These all had a very distinct and excellent taste so we bought a few bottles. All the people we met there were welcoming and very friendly as well. It's basically a must visit if you like chianti and the history behind it.

We visited Terre di Perseto winery today and we absolutely loved it!! Simona our guide was very welcoming and nice. She gave us an interesting tour and answered all our questions. After the tour we did the wine tasting (we chose 4 wines and 2 cheeses option). The area itself was very peaceful and we had plenty of time to complete the tasting in nice relaxed atmosphere without being rushed. We really enjoyed the tour and the great wine!! Definitely worth a visit.
Kornela A — Google review
We were very disappointed with the place after reading such a great previous reviews. Ok - the guide said a lot of information- but with wine it is not just about what is said - but how it is said. The guide was very tired but he tried hard…We decided for 4 Wines with CHARCUTERIE-CURED MEAT/4 VINI con TAGLIERE AFFETTATI- the meat was not tasty… we ordered cheese- we didn’t like it as well. What was worth attention is the Olive Oil ( to taste it you pay extra) and the “Saint Wine” - we payed extra for that es well. The prices of the wine are high when you compare it to quality. In my opinion- the place was designed for big American groups or people who have no idea about the wine. We bought a bottle of a Chianti Classico Gran Selezione- for 38 Euro but we didn’t have a chance to taste it yet… Before visiting that place me and my boyfriend have been to different wineries in Italy, Spain and Greece and we both have the same opinion on the experience.

Benedetta was FANTASTIC! Greeted us like family friends vs tour patrons. Gave us a very thorough enlightening tour of the vines, olive trees, vine to wine processing area & cellar. We learned A Lot & she welcomed questions. The wines were SO good, we had 6 bottles shipped back to the States. Cheese board was DELICIOUS with creamy sheep cheeses & jam. Such a beautiful intimate family owned winery. We will definitely be back!

We book for 4 wine and cheese tasting. The wine was very good but for us what really matters was the special experience of the amazing tour. This is the best winery that we visited in Tuscany for sure. They showed us everything and everybody was so friendly and welcoming with a lot of knowledge and patience. You shouldn’t skip this winery!!
Sharon E — Google review
We chose to visit a smaller winery (we love supporting smaller, family-owned businesses), and wow, what a place! We opted for a tour and wine tasting with a charcuterie board. Benedetta was a fantastic host and tour guide. While we weren’t able to tour the fields (it was raining earlier in the day, and for safety reasons we could not make the trek down), the winery was beautiful and quiet. We were greeted by puppies when we initially arrived, and took a very informative tour going through the wine-making process. After our tour, we had a delightful wine tasting, and enjoyed every single glass. We also opted to try the Vino Santo for dessert. It was a remarkable experience! While we waited for our bus, we sat outside and enjoyed the sun and neighboring kitty. This experience was one of my favorites from our trip to Italia. Unforgettable and highly recommend!!

We found Terre di Perseto by chance as a last winery before we left Tuscany. I genuinely loved every wine we had. I think their Chanti were some of my favourites and the olive oil was fantastic. It was only made better by the wonderful people at the winery. Definitely a gem, definitely worth a stop. It will be on my list of places to recommend.

What a special winery, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. We went without a reservation, but I would recommend making one. They greeted us and had us wait for about 30 minutes for a tour, have us a glass of wine to enjoy while we waited. We got chairs by the front overlooking vineyards. The tour was lovely, learning more about the winery & the Chianti style wine they produce. After the tour we enjoyed a tasting and loved it so much we shipped home a case. In the words of our host, “you don’t need an excuse to enjoy a great bottle of wine”. We’ve saved a few bottles, but enjoyed many of them on random week days.

We popped into Luiano unannounced and were treated like family upon entry. Andrea provided us with an excellent tasting of 4 wines and a special taste of the “Hats Off” selection. She offered us a private tour of the production area and cellar that was remarkable. This winery was nice to visit due to its smaller size and “family” feel to the operation.

I was hesitating if I should write this, but it felt pretty unfair what happened with us. We booked a wine tasting (1,5 hours) on 22/10/2025 at 12:30. The presentation and the tasting was absolutely nice, we liked the wines. Around 13.00 the guy who made the presentation said that he has to check if we can go the cellar, because they are waiting for a big group, and the cellar tour is available usually at 11.00 or later in the afternoon. It turned out that it’s not possible for us, either we wait for the group 2 hours, or we can contact them on the next day. So we had roundabout 45 minutes there and that was it. We paid the full price for the tour (+we bought wines) and hoped that on the next day we can have the cellar tour at 11.00. We contacted them on the next morning (23/10/2025), the first available tour was at 13.30, unfortunately that day was our last one in Tuscany, we had a 6 hours drive to home, so that was not an option. They didn’t try to solve the problem, and we didn’t have the full service what we paid for. The customer service definitely needs improvement.

Popped in hope to have a wine tasting and Andrea went above and beyond. The Winery is so beautiful and the wines are delicious! It was our first winery in our Tuscan tour and think it might be my favourite. Will definitely be back!

It was a beautiful day for taking in the view of the vineyards. The wine and food were delicious. We took a cinquecento Fiat ride and tour. Well worth the trip!

My mother, two sisters, brother-in-law, and I had the absolute best time visiting Luiano Winery on May 30 — and a huge part of that was thanks to our awesome tour guide Lorenzo and the incredible Andrea! As soon as we arrived, Andrea greeted us with the warmest welcome. He didn’t just give us a tour — he brought the place to life. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and his passion for the winery (and wine!) is contagious. He went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable, explaining the winemaking process in a way that was both fascinating and fun. And the wines? Out of this world. Every single one was better than the last. Honestly, we’ve been to quite a few wineries, but this one? Easily one of the best — if not the best — we’ve ever been to. Huge thank you to Luiano Winery, and especially to Andrea, for making it such a special and memorable day. You’re a rockstar! 🍷🙌

Absolutely wonderful experience. Our guide was named Martina and she was perfect! She was highly formative, friendly and made our experience of wine tasting fabulous. I can highly recommend the food option that complements the wine perfectly! This is the perfect tastying and can highly recommend tuscan experience. Thank you!

Had a wonderful wine tour at the venue by our guide Alessandro. The premise is breathtaking, especially the private gardens. Great wines and accompanying cheeses and meats. But our guide truly made our day! He was super kind, knowledgeable and very passionate about everything wine related! Would 100% recommend and would love to visit this place again!

Over the last month I have been to about 10 different vineyards in Tuscany. This one is hands down the best. They do heavily prefer a reservation. Margherita was an extremely knowledgeable and gracious host. She made the tour amazing with in her depth knowledge of not only wine making but also that of the history of the estate.

We had the best time ever. Our guide margarita was so impressive and you could feel her love for the place and it just shines through. The wines are incredible. The value for money of this tour is amazing the chess the wine every little thing is so nice

This villa was amazing! My family and I did a wine tour that included a tour of the vineyards, the cellars, the garden, and a wine tasting. It was one of the best experiences we have had in Italy. Our tour guide was wonderful! He was super knowledgeable about the history of the villa and the winemaking. I would definitely recommend this tour to friends and family! We also ended up buying two bottles of wine to take home!

Incredible. Absolutely stunning grounds and landscape. Winery of dreams. The wine was divine, standouts were the Classico, Super Tuscan, and a very rich Bordeaux. Nora was lovely and a fantastic guide to a wonderful afternoon tasting.

Wow! This villa/winery is amazing and I highly recommend it! The views are stunning, both the food and wine are delicious, the tour is interesting and informative, and we absolutely loved our tour guide Andrea. We found the winery on TikTok, and this was our second (out of three) wineries that we visited in the area. This winery was my favorite and I would definitely go back. We bought the Chianti Classico Riserva to take home, and I plan to order it again online. It was amazing!!!

My friends and I were on vacation and one of the stops was Poggio Torselli! Not only were the grounds beautiful and our tasting was delicious, we were guided by Leonardo. He explained the history well, went into detail on the wine we were drinking/answered our questions and overall made the experience an A+. He even helped us call a taxi over to our next destination as it's pretty hard to do yourself once you get into the region. We were in awe that he had only been working there for 3 months! Thank you so much to Leonardo and Poggio Toreselli for the wonderful day!

If (like me) you came here by googling ‘wine tasting beautiful Italian villa’ - search no more 🤣 We had an amazing experience and couldn’t recommend it more. The villa and gardens are absolutely stunning, and you can tell a lot of care goes into maintaining the place - the same can be said about the wine. You’ll find Chianti classics here, but also a fresh take on them, which isn’t surprising given how open-minded, joyful, and absolutely wonderful the owner is. And finally, our sommelier, Leonardo, did an outstanding job showcasing the wines and guiding us through this immersive experience. We also traveled with our dog, and it wasn’t a problem at all - so if that’s your case, don’t let it stop you. Once again, thank you 🐩🖤!

Nestled in the picturesque Val di Pesa region, Osteria Le Corti is a charming gem housed within a stunning Renaissance villa dating back to the 17th century. This historic site, designed by architect Santi di Tito and owned by the esteemed Corsini family, boasts impressive towers that add to its grandeur. Visitors can indulge in an intimate wine-tasting experience that highlights local flavors and winemaking traditions. The cozy atmosphere is complemented by friendly staff who ensure every guest feels welcomed and engaged.
Most amazing wine tour and cooking class with fascinating history about the family who have lived here and made wine for centuries! 10/10 highly recommend

Osteria le Corti offers an intimate and charming wine-tasting experience that is perfect for those seeking a personal touch. Nestled in a cozy setting, the venue is small but inviting, with a warm ambiance that immediately puts you at ease. The staff are incredibly friendly, making sure each guest feels welcome and engaged throughout the tasting. The wines themselves are delightful, showcasing a variety of local flavors and highlighting the richness of the region’s winemaking traditions. Each pour comes with a detailed explanation, adding depth and appreciation to the experience. However, I couldn’t help but feel that something was missing—namely, a cheese pairing. While the wines stood beautifully on their own, the addition of some thoughtfully curated cheeses could have elevated the tasting to a whole new level. It’s a small critique, but one that would make a significant difference for those who enjoy pairing flavors. Overall, Osteria le Corti is a wonderful stop for anyone looking to explore local wines in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. While the space is small, it adds to the charm and ensures a more personal experience. I’d gladly return, and I hope next time they consider incorporating cheese into their tastings!

This is by far the best Italian food I have eaten at. It’s been two weeks since I arrived Florence & have been struggling to find a good seafood restaurant. This restaurant surely did not disappoint me. The staff are very welcoming, cordial & very friendly. Received a warm welcome from the waitresses. They speak excellent English. Ate seafood risotto as my main course & semifreddo as desert which was recommended by the lovely waitress. This was the first time I ate this desert & believe me when I say it was absolutely delicious & so yummy. Full of nuts. Anyone visiting Florence who is a seafood lover should definitely visit this beautiful restaurant with great ambience & cleanliness. U surely will never leave disappointed.

With Gianni at La Trattoria del Pesce you cannot go wrong. Incredible team from kitchen to service all the way down to a wonderful cellar! Wine pair is fun with Gianni’s brother or anybody else at service. Sometimes is possible to drink very special champenoise, but really only when I am on town!!! Fish is beyond expectation always, including amongst the best oyster 🦪 you can have, Gilardeau Speciale #3. There is amazing fresh frittura and always can find a wild caught fish for an oven acqua pazza… plenty other options to discover, say hello to Gianni on my side when there.

Very close to Antinori and in the heart of Garbino, this restaurant was bustling with locals and tourists (like us) which made the atmosphere come alive in such a great way. Food: 5/5. We had Florentine steak which was cooked just right and full of flavour. Also a pasta and a side of potatoes, it was all incredibly delicious. Come dolci, we indulged in their panna cotta options and they nailed it on all aspects. Service: 5/5. Not much to say here other than they did very well and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Our reservation was held and we were served quickly.

Ristorante MammaRosa "La Locanda" is a hidden gem in the Tuscan countryside, offering authentic Mediterranean cuisine. This charming restaurant is tucked away and provides a delightful dining experience. The chef, known for his culinary skills, personally attends to guests and ensures their satisfaction. The menu boasts an excellent selection of traditional dishes, with the truffle duck pasta being highly recommended. Additionally, the establishment offers a diverse range of wines from various regions, including Chianti.
We were looking for a good restaurant to eat dinner at when this place popped up as recommended. At first I thought it was a hotel that had their own restaurant but it turned out to be a completely separate building right next to it. The owner was so nice and accommodating to us, went into detail about the menu and gave us an English menu version to help us understand the details of each dish. The food was delicious! If you are in the area I would highly recommend stopping to eat here for dinner!

For day 3, we recommend exploring the southeast side side of town. Start the day off with Castello di Verrazzano, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Castello il Palagio Ricevimenti. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Nestled in the picturesque Chianti Classico area of the Greve Valley in Italy, Castello di Verrazzano is a captivating hillside castle and winery with a rich history dating back to the 7th century. Once owned by the renowned Verrazzano family, this medieval marvel offers cellar tours, Chianti tastings, and delightful al fresco dining experiences.
A fantastic winery experience — one of our highlights in Tuscany. Beautifully perched on top of a hill, this winery offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Chianti landscape and is located just a few minutes from the charming town of Greve in Chianti. The wine tour lasted about 45 minutes and was incredibly comprehensive. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate, walking us through the vineyard, cellar, and production areas while sharing the history of the estate and their winemaking process in detail. It felt personal and authentic — not rushed or overly commercial, which we really appreciated. The experience costs around €30 per person, which is excellent value for what you get. After the tour, we enjoyed a guided tasting of four different wines, each one showcasing the unique characteristics of the estate’s production. The wines were fantastic. The setting was relaxed and welcoming, with lovely staff who made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. We didn’t feel pressured to buy anything, but of course, we couldn’t resist taking a few bottles home. They also have restaurant there. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the heart of Chianti’s wine culture in an intimate, high-quality setting.

This was an amazing tour and total experience! Our tour guide, representative, wine educator, etc was excellent! Her knowledge of the property, the amazing history, and wine was so very nicely portrayed in her excellent tour. The history here is stunning too. Wines were so very good that we bought a case to be shipped back home, to the states. Check on buying wine, as they price it with shipping. The property is gorgeous and historic! Highly recommend this particular winery to visit and tour when visiting the area!

Castello di Verrazzano is a must-visit in Chianti! The setting is breathtaking – a historic castle surrounded by vineyards and rolling Tuscan hills. The tour was well-paced and informative, taking us through the ancient wine cellars and sharing the rich history of the estate. The wine tasting was generous and well-explained, with a great selection of Chianti wines, including the Riserva and a delicious Soleila. We also did the lunch pairing, which was fantastic – local, fresh, and beautifully presented. Everything from the views to the wine to the hospitality was outstanding. A perfect Tuscan wine experience!

Absolutely 10/10 ! Could not fault Castello Vicchiomaggio at all. We made the mistake of arriving a day before we had booked and they straight away had a room ready for us and even upgraded us for our normal booking ! The staff were all knowledgeable and super helpful for every little thing. All the facilities were amazing and the dinner and wine cellar tour was the best part. The pool was also a beautiful way to cool down on the hot days we were there. I would give 10 stars if I could !

It is a unique experience to spend at least a night in this location. The room we stayed in was huge, clean and decorated with good taste, keeping the ancient atmosphere. It features a kitchenette in case of need. The infinity pool has breathtaking views and it's a perfect relaxation location. It's a pity though is not heated, but also understandable for the region, as not quite needed normally. Still, the 18 degrees water temperature in the late October days was a bit too challenging, still.
Dinu D — Google review
We had the pleasure of staying four nights, dining and touring Castello Vicchiomaggio. The Castello and grounds are truly magical with sweeping views sitting atop a hill. The Castello is beautifully restored with modern amenities and immaculately clean. We stayed in the incredible valley view apartment which was very spacious with many large windows overlooking the Chianti valleys and vineyards and a convienient kitchenette. Wifi connection was sometimes limited in our apartment. We enjoyed our wine tour here and dinner. The Castello and winery is family run which made it extra special - family and staff were exceptional hosts. There were a set of stairs to reach the grounds/restaurant and another to reach our apartment (to be mindful of depending on your mobility) - staff were kind enough to help with our luggage. If you are visiting, there is a building by the entrance at the bottom of the hill for wine tasting. If you dine at the restaurant (or possibly book one of their wine tours), you drive up the hill which takes a few mins for the best view and to enjoy the grounds. Grazie miele for having us from Australia.
Monica D — Google review
Big disappointment. I booked a valley view room for 2 days. The view from the room is of a wall from 2 small windows (first 2 pictures - with my hand to judge the size). The valley view is from a closet space where a single chair fits (third picture). Window too high and too small to see anything from the chair but the sky. All I can say is DO NOT book a valley view. Our room came with 2 complimentary coffee pods. “Additional coffee pods can be obtained at the front desk for 1 Euro.”. They take the nickel and dime approach.
Rob L — Google review
The place is magical and spotless clean. Our room was beautiful, breakfast delicious. However, bedding was unacceptably uncomfortable, the mattress was not good quality, sheets and pillows were not the best quality. Also, our room didn’t have WiFi so we had to connect to another room WiFi and the signal was very weak.
Marco B — Google review
We stayed at Castello Vicchiomaggio during our road trip through Tuscany. The setting is beautiful, with scenic views all around and a peaceful atmosphere — the location is definitely the highlight of this property. We were in the Cosimo room, which was clean and quiet, but the decor felt quite bare and the bed was smaller than expected. The towels left fuzz everywhere, which became a bit annoying, and trash bins were oddly hard to find, even outside — something we noticed while trying to clean out our car. Breakfast was fairly limited, especially considering the price. There were just a few kinds of bread, cheese, meats, yogurt, fruit, and some hot dishes like scrambled eggs and frittata. It felt more like a budget offering in an otherwise premium setting. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant, which was genuinely delicious. However, it’s closed every other day, which could be inconvenient if you don’t have a car — there’s nothing within walking distance. Also, no one offered to help with luggage, which wasn’t a big issue for us but might be for others, given the narrow castle stairs. The infinity pool area is lovely, but the toilet and changing facilities nearby felt outdated and not in line with the overall price and presentation. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the wine tasting and lunch experience was excellent — definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Overall, Castello Vicchiomaggio is a scenic and charming property, but there are quite a few details that felt overlooked or not quite up to the standard one might expect in this price range.

Beautiful location with great wine and food. Out of 3 wineries visited on my trip, this winery was the most personalized as it is family owned and operated. The son helped seat us, mother served us our wines, cheese board, and an added meat board. Walked-in, no reservations. Homemade jams and olive oil accompany the food. Son offered to show us the wine cellar after our wine tasting. Thank you to the family for an amazing time. We rented a car to arrive here, but a group before us took a bus and the family drove them to the bus stop, so you can message them about this.

Loved every single second of our “A Real Tuscan Wine & Food Experience.” From service, to location, to food, and drink, it was as good as we could have ever hoped for. Booking was easy and transportation, which was the most difficult part, they made sure to guide us through the process being as helpful as possible. It was personalized for our private group of 6 and the friendliness of Simone and Manuela made the visit even more special. So much delicious food, even better wine, all capped off with pristine views. Absolutely worth every second and cent. Thank you Simone and Manuela!

We rented one of their homes. It was a great find. We sat on the patio at the house and drank wine overlooking their beautiful vineyard. So peaceful. Before we left, we ordered a case of wine and had it shipped back to the US. It just arrived, perfectly packed and intact. This is such a nice winery with very friendly and helpful owners. We’d love to go back for another stay and more wine.

This was by far the best wine experience we’ve been to. This was our second visit. The drive from Siena was amazing and the winery is stunning. Simone is very knowledgeable and his presentation was informative. He recommended travel routes that took us through the heart of Tuscany and even drove others to the local bus station. The wine and olive oil are superb and we’re shipping a case home.

Been here for the wine tasting only, their wines are solid but what is incredible is the views and the how quiet the places is, the pictures speak for themselves.

I had an unforgettable experience at Il Pelagio winery, led by Simone and his family. The passion and knowledge they shared about Tuscan wines were truly inspiring. I especially loved the history of tuscan wine and Simones teachings. Every moment, from the vineyard to the wine tasting, was perfect and very satisfying. I highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to immerse themselves in authentic Tuscan hospitality and exceptional wines. Thank you, Simone and family, for a fantastic day.

I cannot recommend this place enough! We had first visited the vineyard back in 2019 for my birthday & we had an amazing time, on the day the heavens decided to open and we ended up doing the tasting inside (which was still a beautiful location.) Fast forward to this year, we were getting married in Tuscany and as part of our wedding trip we had organised wine tasting for our guests, I had shopped around a lot and decided to come back. I had emailed Simone 6 months in advance, as we were such a big group (around 40 people) and Simone was super helpful throughout the whole process of booking and staying in contact. When we arrived, everyone had enjoyed the view of the vineyard and then we were taken on the tour of the cellars, which all of our guests found really interesting and educational. Once we had sat down at the courtyard, we had started the wine tasting, which all of our guest really enjoyed along with the cheese and meats (even our guests who do not often drink wine, found a glass or two that they loved!) I honestly, cannot recommend this place enough! - but thank you to Simone and the team for always making us feel welcome and keeping our glasses full!

Excellent wine - yeah we’re looking forward. The owner is very knowledgeable. Take his time explaining the process in the wine. I would highly highly highly recommend this tour.

Located near the village of Mercatale in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Castello il Palagio Ricevimenti is a stunning castle and winery surrounded by picturesque vineyards. Visitors can enjoy a delightful wine experience with informative presentations on the history of their wines, followed by tours of the vineyard and wine storage. The tasting sessions offer an array of wines accompanied by delectable cheeses, oils, breads, ravioli, roasted pork, and salad.
🍷 🧀 🍇 Castello / Tenuta Del Palagio in the Chianti region of Florence is an unforgettable experience that far surpassed all of my expectations. From start to finish, the visit was a journey into the heart of Italian winemaking. The experience began with an olive oil tasting that was as flavorful as it was enlightening. Sampling the estate’s freshly pressed oils set the stage perfectly for what was to come. Next, we were taken on a guided tour through the vineyard, where we learned about their winemaking process, the unique characteristics of the Chianti terroir, and the love and care that goes into every bottle they produce. The highlight, of course, was the wine tasting. With over eight wines to sample, it was an absolute dream for any wine lover. Each sip was more incredible than the last, showcasing the vineyard’s mastery of blending tradition with innovation. The guide was beyond friendly and animated, providing rich insights while making the experience feel personal and relaxed. When my boyfriend and I found ourselves without transportation, they kindly drove us back to our accommodation—a gesture that truly went above and beyond. Note: You’ll need a car to visit, as taxis are scarce. Plan ahead for transportation to fully enjoy this magical experience.

Great place! We were here for a wedding, the territory and the castle are very beautiful and atmospheric place. You can feel the history and heritage. There are olive groves and vineyards around

We had the most amazing day of our lives at the castle, and we could not thank the castle staff enough for all the support and help we received during our planning. Our guest still talk about our wedding and what a wonderful venue we had. Getting married at a castle like this was a dream come true, and not something that happens everyday. The views, the surroundings and the castle itself is just perfect. We got ready at the castle and it provided a sense of peace we were already there, and everything was taken care of. Could not recommend them enough for weddings!

Photographing Amanda and Jeff’s wedding at Castello Il Palagio in Tuscany was an unforgettable experience. The castle is absolutely stunning,a perfect blend of medieval charm and Tuscan elegance. As a photographer, Castello Il Palagio offered an inspiring backdrop that made storytelling through images effortless. I feel grateful to have been part of such a special day in such a breathtaking place.

I love this Castle! I've photographed a couple of weddings here and have been blown away by the rolling Tuscan hills surrounding the Castle, the beautiful building and the amazing food! I can't wait to come back! Olly (Olly Knight Photography)

We visited in the most theatrical of thunderstorms that drowned out the 1st half hour. Whilst it was tailored to the group’s knowledge of wine and wine making it was a little “light” on the detail whilst in the winery. Nothing to see, nothing under fermentation, no pressing it was fundamentally a little dull. The notes on the various ways they re-use the oak barrels was a interesting and nice touch. The lunch with wine was delightful albeit the ambiance and surroundings were a little “twee”. The pasta dish as an extra was worth the 10 euros. As a whole it delivered but it felt just a little “perfunctory” in approach but hey they do this twice a day to many a faceless visitor. We enjoyed in particular the Pinot Grigio out of all of the wines presented during lunch. The desert wines in particular are worth a special mention both were excellent and I’d recommend. On a final note I’ve been on other vineyard tours in France which really go some way into demonstrating areas of the wine making process and I’m afraid to say they knock this visit out of the park from an overall experience point of view.

Simply wonderful place castle and winery and large wine yards. Did a tasting tour and was mesmerized by the place and wine. The tasting tour was also one of the best in the world if not the best. Will definitely be back and highly recommended to do in whole of Tuscany if not Italy. Castle did have wedding on the day of tour. So I assume you can book it as well.

A Casa Mia is an authentic osteria tucked away in a secluded hillside village. With its leafy outdoor seating area, it offers robust pasta dishes, bruschetta, and charcuterie plates. The cozy restaurant is run by Cosimo and Maurizio Simoncini who serve hearty portions of traditional Tuscan home cooking at reasonable prices.
A local restaurant with fantastic choices. You are eating at Lorenzo's house! The sampler appetizer is big enough for 4. We had the mozzarella caprese, tagliotti with meat, and rabbit & penned. The dessert sampler was outstanding! Recommend you buy a higher priced chianti. I had the Poggio Torselli. Small restaurant, close tables, made new friends.

Great experience! We arrived four people as the place opened at 12:30 for lunch. A small, local place with a family and warm atmosphere. We received excellent service and the food was just fantastic! Only typical dishes for the area…. So glad we discovered this place by mistake! highly recommend!!

Cozy family owned restaurant with delicious food. 66 euro for dinner for two - an antipasti, 2 pasta dishes and a shared desert. The restaurant has a handful of tables, so make sure you make reservation.

Wow … if you can get in , get a table . Great place , and fantastic food … a real find in this small village . We had the antipasti , then the pork and mushroom (pasty as it turned out - lovely ) as well as the rabbit with rosemary and potatoes . There were fritti anti pasti , and a selection of small cakes that we ate too quick to take a picture of ! Two bottles of wine as well , €160 euro for 4 people . Great !

Trattoria Della Fonte is a picturesque destination for wine tasting and dining, with stunning surroundings and excellent service. The venue offers lovely food at reasonable prices, set amidst amazing views in the middle of nowhere. While the villas up the hill offer beautiful accommodations, having a car is essential due to the challenging road conditions. The restaurant boasts fantastic amenities like a pool and tennis court, with an impressive view over Tenuta Tignanello vines.
Out of a two week trip exploring Italy, this was by far the best meal we had! We were blown away by the incredible view when we arrived, and then watched a beautiful sunset over the vineyards. The whole staff was lovely and kind enough to speak with us in English. The food was perfection, we ordered a little bit of everything and shared it all. The truffle gnocchi was so good it made me a cry a little! If you are in the area, you need to eat here!!

We had a summer lunch here and everything was great. Nice service, great wine & food. I had pici with a spinach pesto & vegetables and my husband got cod fish. We were here with a dog and our baby and they were extremely accommodating. Fair prices.

We went to visit for the first time this year, and we love it ! The food is superb and maintains the local traditional style. The menu and the wines are all very well priced. The service and waiters are over the top, managed by Mr. Michele who made the visit even better. Grazie mile Don't miss the sunset !

We are just here for the dinner and we ordered the food which is REALLY average.. the same food - pici with truffle - we had only few pieces of truffle on top vs the Italian family next to us had a PLATE of truffle. I don’t think they like foreign tourists that much. Will never come back. Solid one star!

Restaurant was very disappointing. Our ordered wine was never brought to the table and maybe they were busy. All food served was just okay. Taste is below average for Tuscany cuisine. Truffle was given a little portion. Service was little in addition to that we never got our wine….
