Shopping mall
Clothing store
Restaurant
Pacific View Mall is a local favorite in coastal Ventura, offering a variety of shops and dining options. It's conveniently located and provides a pleasant shopping experience. The mall also features a children's area, making it family-friendly. While some feel that the mall has declined over time, many still enjoy spending time there. Additionally, visitors can easily access another open-air mall just a few miles away at The Collection for more shopping and entertainment options.
Great place to walk around and shop. What a great mall. I'm thankful that it's still open.
Bill E — Google review
The mall is very nicely decorated and clean. Our first time visiting and the stores we went into were well stocked and great. Hopefully, like many other reviewers have said, mall management can find a way to revive tenancy. Nice area and nearby some other sites as well as the ocean with a few eateries there.
D P — Google review
Mall is just fine, not much going on here but i got lured in to get a massage. Buy some guys from Taiwan. They sold me a 30 minute massage for $30 about 20 minutes and he said I was done and then tried to keep a $10 tip for himself. And even the massage was mediocre, I translated to Chinese so it’s something he could understand and he still ignored the spots I asked him to target.
Nick H — Google review
It was great and going to the Panda Express there was great! The person making our plate was amazing! Nicest , most friendly Panda Express worker I've encountered!
Jas — Google review
Amazing mall experience. Clean, plenty of parking right next to the entrance, generally good selection of shops, nice food court, target and Trader Joe's nearby, selection in most stores seemed very decent and not slimmed down like I've seen in other retail stores. Best shopping experience I've had in a while.
Joe W — Google review
Sadly this mall has really gone down hill over the years. Many of the good stores have closed. Lots of places are vacant. It’s kinda old and dingy all over. Food court is kinda decent. Feels like they don’t even turn AC on in here anymore. It pains me cause I love my city Ventura. But the pacific view mall isn’t a good representation of our city. If you got time and the transportation I really recommend driving over to Topanga and going to the Westfield mall is much better and it’s full of great stores and places to eat. I really hope our mall can turn things around coming out of the shutdown and just do better all around.
Anthony E — Google review
Need more store in this beautiful mall. I hope it is able to hang and stick around.
Stacey T — Google review
This mall is supposedly closing. They are not renewing leases, is what we heard. Popular stores have already left this mall. It's basically a ghost town.

Breakfast restaurant
Restaurant
Pete's Breakfast House is a charming diner-style restaurant in Ventura, offering American breakfast with a unique twist and quirky decor. The menu features freshly squeezed orange juice, locally sourced eggs, fruits, and veggies. Their homemade corned beef hash is a must-try. Managed by a friendly husband-and-wife team, the restaurant has been serving delicious breakfast since 1986 and is always bustling with energy.
Don’t let the amount of people waiting for tables deter you. Turnaround is quick and we were seated within 15 minutes from our 2 visits. Service is great and fast, and food also comes out super fast! This is one of those restaurants you just want to try everything on the menu. Everything we ordered is delicious and portion is plenty to indulge or share. I ordered the pancake roll the first visit because why not? Portion looks overwhelming but it’s manageable as the pancake is light and fluffy, and the granola is just incredibly delicious!! This looks like a favorite local joint and we will definitely visit again when we are in town again!
Bessie G — Google review
Great food, great service. The water with a lemon slice was a nice touch. Ask for Mitch he'll really take care of you. Didn't have the stomach for the pancake roll. Nice music. We'll have to come back. But, the bathroom floors need cleaning.
Jimmy J — Google review
Highly recommend coming here! Local or just passing, by like we were. The food was great! Nothing left us unsatisfied. They even took the time to guide us through the menu and gave us info regarding menu options. A great restaurant all around! The customer service was exceptional—not only for my family, but for everyone dining there. You can really tell they care about every guest’s experience. The walls were entertaining as well 😆. Some good laughs happened, Pete’s Did not disappoint.

When we lived in Ventura, we went to Pete's just about every weekend. And for good reason - Pete's is just about the perfect breakfast diner. The menu is large, from baked goods and pancakes to eggs and bacon, along with Mexican food, everything is homemade and delicious. The coffee is great too. The staff are all so friendly, the interior is cozy, it's just so happy at Pete's. It's awesome. Just be prepared to wait a little bit almost any time you go, because this is where locals eat. Because it's awesome. Pro tip: try the habanero salsa!
Michael G — Google review
This was interesting for us . This place had people waiting to get a seat and lots good reviews about the food The staff was very friendly and they are very dog friendly. Which was awesome. Our waitress was very nice. So it was weird when our food was so underwhelming. When I took a bite of my eggs it had egg shells in it. And zero seasoning. I didn't care for the style of breakfast sausage that they use. The French toast was just ok. My husband had the huevos rancheros. The eggs were good but the canned beans over the breakfast potatoes were not tasty at all. The breakfast potatoes would have been so much tastier without the beans. The little salsa it came with tasted like raw tomatoes. Lastly the coffee wasn't fresh. It didn't taste good.As we looked around it seemed as though maybe we had just ordered the wrong food. Maybe the other options are much better. For us it was just meh. We spent over $50 for 2 egg breakfast meals and coffee. All that being said, because everyone was so nice and it had a lovely atmosphere. I would try it again
Rachael W — Google review
My Spanish omelet was excellent. I added avocado and it was worth it. The service was friendly and my coffee never reached less than half a cup (and I drink a lot of coffee) 😆 This is a great stop if you're in the area.
Joshua M — Google review
Pete's is a gem. I highly recommend the Chile Verde Burrito, it was huge and delicious. The atmosphere was also delightful. Service was on point and everything one could ask for.

Consistently good food at a fair price! This is your classic breakfast place that you've known for years and you keep going back because you know you are going to get a great meal. You can also bring your dog and sit on the patio! Awesome!

Nature & Parks
Marina Park is a 15-acre oceanfront park located in Ventura, California. It's a popular spot for both locals and tourists, offering various family-friendly amenities such as playgrounds, volleyball courts, picnic areas with tables and barbecue spots. The park features walking paths and a spacious grassy area perfect for beachfront picnics while enjoying views of the harbor.
Thumbs up all around from the toddlers to mom and dad. We stopped in on our way south to Disneyland to give the kids time to stretch their legs and burn some energy and couldn’t have been happier. This 10.5 beachfront park opened in 2015. Some of it’s offerings include: Nautical-Themed Playground: Features a large lighthouse with a red tunnel slide, a “spiderweb” rope climber, and play equipment suitable for toddlers and older children. The playground is adjacent to a sandy, wave-free bayfront beach ideal for kids. The Marina Park Community and Sailing Center provides sailing classes, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard rentals. Lighthouse Bayview Café is a restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner with harbor views, located under a fake lighthouse. Basketball courts, an outdoor fitness circuit, picnic tables, a large grassy lawn. 177 parking spaces at $2.10/hr. ParkMobile app friendly.

It's a whole vibe. I recommend yoga with friends. Also, the beach is great, the access to the harbor (and ocean) is also great, and the parking is fantastic. What a gem.
Josiah R — Google review
I love Marina Park, specifically on a hot day. Jumping into the water to cool off is wonderful. This park does have a lot of traction since its at the beach like most beaches in the summer. But with that said the city keeps it very clean. If been coming here for decades and I enjoy it every single time.
Rogelio J — Google review
Love this park. Plenty of grass to chill on with the kiddos, a nice park for the kids, a massive ship that has zip line and right on the beach. The waves can be a bit rough but still a nice spot.
Sandandsea18 — Google review
Marina Park is a beautiful and relaxing place to spend time with family and friends. The park is clean, well-maintained, and has plenty of open space to enjoy fresh air and nature. It’s right by the water, which makes the atmosphere peaceful and refreshing. The playground is perfect for children, with safe and fun equipment to keep them entertained. Restrooms are available and well-kept, which is very convenient for visitors. The park is also dog-friendly, so it’s a great place to bring pets for a walk or playtime.
Shafiq O — Google review
Love that it's both a park and beach 🙏🏽 love to bbq here! Such a fun place to go 🥰😻
Jas — Google review
Quiet park on the beach. Picnic tables, grass, playground, watch sailboats, clean restrooms, dog friendly, very relaxing 😌 😎
Cathy H — Google review
A clean and fun park with many amenities. There is a decent sized free parking lot as well as some street parking. The large grass area is great for picnics and family gatherings, flying kites, or playing with friends. There is a large play pirate ship at the sand for the kiddos. We saw many people bring their dogs here. There are also dog bag stations throughout the park. A meandering sidewalk leads you to the beach, dunes, or out along the peninsula. There are areas for fishing harbor side and ocean side. There are also plenty of benches throughout the park and along the sidewalk path. Great for relaxing and watching the sunset. The city does a great job of keeping up the park.

Great adventure with island packers cruises! The cruise we did on a Sunday was a full day tour with great guides and lots of wildlife. Really enjoyed exploring the island and the boat ride to the island. Would recommend as a way to visit the Channel Islands national park! Wear a hat, bring sunscreen and bring water! You can buy some snacks and drinks on the boat
Amelia T — Google review
Our recent journey with Island Packers to Santa Cruz Island & Painted Cave was truly memorable. As a wildlife photography studio devoted to documenting California’s coast, we were impressed by the crew’s professionalism, depth of knowledge, and genuine respect for the environment. From the moment we arrived at the harbor, everything ran smoothly. Boarding was easy, the staff was welcoming, and shared fascinating insights about the islands and local wildlife throughout the day. Highlights included a breathtaking visit to Painted Cave, spotting hundreds of dolphins, and watching harbor seals bask on sunlit rocks. The views from the boat were stunning, and there was ample time to soak in the scenery both from the water and on the island itself. For anyone planning a Channel Islands trip, we recommend packing light, dressing in layers, and always keeping your camera close. We’ve included a selection of our favorite images from the journey. Thank you, Island Packers, for an unforgettable day on the water. We’re already looking forward to our next Channel Islands adventure with you. This trip was so good, we wrote a whole travel log about it on our website. ☺️
Noelle — Google review
Island Packers offers cruises to several of the Channel Islands. We went out to Santa Cruz Island and the ride was about an hour and a half each way. While en route, the crew keeps an eye out for wildlife and will take a slight detour and stop briefly for wildlife sightings which will add a few minutes to the travel time. The captain won’t go far enough off course to have a significant impact travel time. We stopped briefly for sea ions and dolphins on the way out and then again for a dolphin feeding frenzy and on the way back to the harbor. The action was right next to the boat! The lower deck has a snack bar with breakfast items, lunch items, chips, candy bars, coffee, and alcoholic beverages. The terminal has a shop for souvenirs as well as some supplies. The staff is amazing.
Nick L — Google review
The trip out to the island was wonderful. But we had to stop to pick up day trip visitors and there were far too many people on the boat during the trip back to shore. It was not really pleasant waiting for an hour to get that many people on board and then have my seat stolen by some random rude woman with an entitlement issue.
Caitlin — Google review
This ferry is part of the fun when visiting Channel Islands National Park. The captain will seek out wildlife and point it out to the passengers, and of course the ride itself is full of beautiful views over the ocean. They will also take all of your gear and even a kayak to the island for your trip. Just make sure to book tickets before the popular times sell out.
Christopher R — Google review
"Island Packers" provides various trips from Oxnard and Ventura to the Channel Islands National Park, which is situated in the Pacific Ocean between 12 and 70 miles off the California Coast. There are different options for visitors who want to explore the islands or simply take a boat ride around the islands. There is so much incredible wildlife to see in the ocean near the islands and on the islands as well. Whales (seasonal), dolphins, sea lions, various seabirds, and so much more. The reservations are available either online or over the phone. There is plentiful paid parking ($10.35 per day) by the headquarters of Island Packers in Ventura. One has to pay via an app with a credit or debit card. They have a gift shop and restrooms there. Their personnel is very friendly and professional.

Fantastic!!! We took the boat over to Santa Cruz island to camp at Scorpion and the cruise over was amazing. Saw 2 humpback whales and hundreds (really) of dolphins all racing towards the boat to play in the bow wave and the wake of that boat. 100% would recommend!

Beautiful and smooth ride to Santa Cruz Island thanks to Island Packers crew. Their instructions were easy to follow and made the whole process simple. Plenty of drinks and snacks for purchase. Be ready to see some wildlife on the way!

Restaurant
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews is a popular chain known for its wide variety of gourmet burgers and American comfort food. It's a family-friendly spot with an extensive menu that caters to all tastes, including the highly recommended fish and chips. The restaurant also features a bar for those who enjoy drinks with their meal. Customers rave about the mouthwatering Whiskey River BBQ burger, which comes with bottomless steak fries.
Haven't been in a red robin in a long time. Boy, did we make a great choice. The food and service was great at this location.
Bill E — Google review
Always outstanding service and quality food (great job cooks!) at this Red Robin. Server LIZZY, manager ERIC and server LILY are without question the best! The Gourmet Burger with fries and the milkshakes are not to be beat. We really enjoy the delicious food and kind, hardworking folks that work here. Don’t miss this spot for a great meal and great staff.

They have decent food, but MULTIPLE times over the last year they have messed up our order and forgotten something. We've either gone back for a correction, or if we're too far back home we just call it a loss. The last time, I paid extra for garlic broccoli and not only did I get plain broccoli instead (I have receipt proof), but it was such a pathetic amount for the cost. I wasn't compensated. They also try to sneak in a tip if you order online. Luckily I caught it during check out.
Rynn21 — Google review
Went here for my son's birthday. He was really excited because he loves the food and the fact that they give him a balloon.🎈😁 The host sat us very quickly but the servers were very overwhelmed with a big party. The party that kept sending their food back and asking for things I really felt sorry for the servers. So although it took a while for our food to come out and for us to get refills on our drinks and fries I don't want to rate them lower because it wasn't their fault. The manager eventually came around to check on everyone but I feel like she should have been a little more visible to help with that large party.
Ronae H — Google review
Food was good and came out quick. Service was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere could’ve been a little better. Came after church and there was a pretty open restaurant but they sat us all really close together. Would’ve been nice to have a little bit of space but I understood because of how many servers they had there. Will come again
Hunter H — Google review
Red Robin earns a solid 4 stars in my book — it’s a consistently fun, casual place to eat with good food, friendly service, and a family-friendly atmosphere that still works well for teens and adults who just want a laid-back meal. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with that classic diner-meets-modern-sports-bar vibe, with bright red booths, TVs playing sports or random trivia, and the smell of burgers in the air that kind of makes you hungrier than you thought you were. The menu is big, with lots of burger options, from classic to wild (pineapple and teriyaki, anyone?), and everything feels customizable — you can swap patties, remove toppings, or go with a lettuce wrap if you’re trying to be healthier, which I appreciate. The bottomless fries are a huge win — crispy, well-seasoned, and super addicting, and if you ask, they’ll bring you more without hesitation. Their milkshakes are thick and indulgent, and the freckled lemonade is still a fan favorite. It’s not exactly “gourmet” food, but it’s good quality for the price, and portions are generous. They also have options beyond burgers — like salads, chicken sandwiches, and even vegetarian and gluten-free dishes — so there’s usually something for everyone. Service tends to be friendly and pretty quick, though depending on how busy it is, you might have to wait a bit for refills or extra fries — nothing major, but it’s worth noting if you’re on a tight schedule. The restaurant is also family-oriented, so you’ll often hear kids laughing or the occasional birthday song from across the dining room, which is fun for some people and a bit much for others depending on the mood. Still, it doesn’t take away from the experience — it just adds to that casual, all-ages vibe they’re going for. Overall, Red Robin isn’t trying to be super fancy, and that’s exactly why it works — it’s comfortable, tasty, and dependable, especially when you’re craving a big burger and fries in a setting where you don’t have to dress up or feel rushed. A few minor things (like noise or wait times during rush hours) keep it from being five stars, but I’d still definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a chill, satisfying meal with friends or family.
Jose M — Google review
Our waitress, Mia, was very efficient. The manager, Misha, was also present and checking in at customer’s tables-very kind. Food was good. We will definitely return.

Singing Sun Coffee is a charming café located at the base of a two-story apartment building, boasting a picturesque exterior with lush greenery and a retro ambiance. The shop offers an array of signature drinks, including the flavorful Good Fortune and the unique Babbler infused with root beer. With its spacious interior and friendly staff, it's an ideal spot to relax with friends over hand-crafted beers or artisanal coffee.
Great chill place! Awesome coffee! We randomly hit this place on a road trip for a togo coffee , but we loved it so much, stayed around and enjoyed a few too many cups 😁 People are nice , place is clean , coffee if good, their pastries were also good! They also do sell beans too! Do expect a line probably on peak days but it moves rather fast! Cleanness: clean People: very nice Seating: a few outdoor some inside Noise: average noise! Parking: street, there is a lot in the back too Price: fair

Loved the vibe of this coffee shop. It has so much space and a total vintage diner vibe because of the stools and the counter. The employees were really friendly and welcoming. The pastry options were amazing, everything looked so good! I got their Olive Oil Muffin which was perfection. I ordered their Golden drink which was really delicious and a total work of art. They have a nice enclosed outdoor area, a refrigerator filled with yummy to-go snacks and lots of drinksis well as some gorgeous merchandise. I am for sure going to come back to try one of their vegan breakfast burritos.

A lovely little coffee shop serving up clean single origin and their own custom blends. One of the few doing pour overs. Gluten free options. Appreciated the to the gram precision, even with their espresso. The space is bright open airy. Lots of working space both indoors and out. Solid WiFi. Clean elegant design. Quiet enough to be able to focus yet alive enough to be part of a community. Vegan burrito and gluten free pastry choices. Happy staff.

This is a great little coffee shop in Ventura. I’ve been here a couple times but I would say my wife frequency hear more often. I went in yesterday for an afternoon coffee and the staff was super friendly. The coffee was great and we were able to sit outside and enjoy a beautiful Ventura day. This shop has so many different options for coffee that you can get and they are all good. They also have a rad little display of pastries that you can grab too.

Wonderful coffee shop with great vibes and delicious coffee. The food options are limited but everything is delicious. There is almost always a line on weekends but it moves fast and is 100% worth the wait. They also have super cute merch!

Visit after visit…simply PERFECTION!! Olivia is the sweetest. Today, 6.12.2025 my husband and I were out for a walk and we forgot our reusable mugs and I was in a panic because I will not use plastic or take away cups, but Olivia showed me they had pottery mugs and glass! She made my hubby an awesome Masala Chai with oat milk and my a Cold Brew with oat milk. All so good. Great seating. Excellent service. Thanks SINGING SUN…as always.

Love this cafe. Healthy quick bites and the best brewed coffee !
Ana V — Google review
Today was one of the worst and last experiences I will have at this location. Although the cashier was kind today (which rarely happens to my sister and me), the coffee is always mediocre. Anytime I get a latte it’s like I paid 7 dollars for a glass of milk. I kept coming back hoping it would get better and it did not. The main reason I would come here was because it was a short walk but I now know that I should prioritize quality over convenience. It also feels as though I am not welcome when I walk through the door which is odd because this location is on the avenue which is a majority Latino population. When I see the employees interacting with customers who are not people of color it looks like that is who they’re most comfortable with. I would not recommend coming here for the coffee or the experience especially if you are not white.

French restaurant
Le Petit Cafe & Bakery is a charming spot in Ventura Harbor Village, offering a blend of French and California cuisine, along with an espresso bar and delectable baked goods. The cafe boasts a harborfront patio where guests can savor their meals while taking in picturesque views. With its French-inspired menu and full bar, this hidden gem provides a delightful dining experience coupled with the soothing ambiance of the ocean.
Upon walking in on a Thursday night for dinner. I was greeted immediately. Was given the perfect corner table. They served us water immediately. I noticed the place was extremely clean. Well taken care of. And had excellent decor for the theme. Very warm and quaint. Menus were brought to us right away. We opted for Two French onion soups. Croque monsieur w/ potatoes. And Seafood crepe French onion soups. Finally a French onion soup that tasted authentic. Rich broth with perfectly caramelized onions. Sealed with bread and perfectly melted Gruyère cheese. Croque monsieur. Nicely cut thick ham. Good light Béchamel sauce. Lots of melted cheese. Tastes absolutely fantastic. The potatoes it came with were heavy. I should have got a salad instead. But that doesn’t mean the potatoes weren’t good. They were excellent! Seafood crepe. Smothered in cheese, sauce and herbs. Seafood tastes fresh, crepe was made correctly. Seasoning was on point. Staff was extremely attentive and took care of us very well. So would I recommend this place? Most definitely. Glad I found it. It’s definitely a great change and option for something to eat that’s different around here. If you like crepes, traditional French onion soup and a good croissant? Check it out! Food: far above average. Decor: older but makes sense for the theme. Staff: professional and attentive. Cleanliness: very clean. Bathrooms: very clean. Atmosphere: relaxing, chill French music playing.

I had the misfortune of dining at La petit cafe and bakery today , and it was an utterly disappointing experience. I ordered crab cakes. The food was inedible, not fresh and I literally had to spit it out because of crab shells in the crab cake. The flavors were off, and the texture was unappetizing. To make matters worse, the service was subpar. When I politely informed the server about the issue, they seemed unconcerned and still presented me with a half bill of 28$ I was shocked and disappointed that they expected me to pay for a meal that was clearly not fit for consumption and I didn’t even eat. The lack of quality control and customer care is alarming. Unless they seriously revamp their kitchen and service standards, I would strongly advise against dining here. Rating: 1/5 stars

Best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had and that’s saying something, they are only offered on the weekends. My fiancé loved his seafood crepe! So much flavor and the servings size is worth the value. The Napoleon dessert was also very delicious. 10/10 we will be coming back.

It was so delicious. I highly recommend it for all occasions, pastries, and coffee was delicious . You can definitely walk it off, walking at the pier or for preparing for a boating trip.

Just had an amazing lunch, again, at Le Petit. Pate and Onion soup are best in this area. Outside patio on a sunny day is amazing and staff are polite but leave you space. Hope folks realize this gem is one of the best restaurants in Ventura!

Great place to eat with genuine French cuisine! Service was good, the patio over looking the harbor was very nice. Reasonably priced for today’s standards, being the food is properly made by an actual French chef’. The Pastries are amazing also!

Californian restaurant
Cafe Zack is a charming, family-owned restaurant located just a few minutes from Ventura's beach and downtown area. Housed in a cozy 1930s cottage, it offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with the courtyard being a particularly enjoyable spot. With over two decades of experience, this eatery is known for its innovative Californian cuisine and friendly service. Whether it's a romantic date or a family gathering, Cafe Zack can cater to various dining needs.
The food is amazing, the service was fantastic, the patio has heaters so it isn't too cold- all around this is somewhere I'll come back too. It's a little expensive but the food absolutely justifies the price tag, sooo good. They have good shirley temples and their maraschino cherries aren't your average, so good. The lobster with sweet corn was amazing.
R4CCA77ACK — Google review
Good food, helpful service and a casual atmosphere make Zack a winner. We enjoyed out varied dishes including the pork and pastas. Everything was good, if not outstanding. The service was professional and unstuffy. The restaurant basically has the feel of a converted house. It's cozy. We would return.
TJJ — Google review
Let's start with the obvious: you can drive right past this place and not even see it. It is a converted house with minimal signage, and I think that adds to the charm. Reservations highly recommended. Now to the good and bad ... it's worth the visit but it comes at price. I had their crab cake appetizer (superb) and wild boar shank (you'll have to wait 30 minutes for this to cook), a glass of wine and their flourless chocolate cake. It set me back over $100. I WOULD GO AGAIN. Every bite was top notch. I sat indoors, but there is a small nice patio in back. Next time I'm trying their duck.
Jack G — Google review
Café Zack was such a great experience! Matt, our waiter, was incredibly welcoming and polite. His kind and genuine demeanor instantly made us feel comfortable and right at home. The food? Absolutely delicious — totally worth every cent. And don’t even get me started on the desserts! My fiancé had Zack’s Pie and loved every bite. I went with the crème brûlée cheesecake, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had in my entire life. The flavor was absolute perfection. I highly recommend this place — amazing food, outstanding service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
MyLittle D — Google review
Had my birthday dinner there and was so glad I choose there. The atmosphere felt more private than most restaurants that pack you in. They have indoor outdoor spaces. We had crab cakes, delish and noticeably homemade. Then rack of lamb and lobster ravioli, yum! Flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Oh, excellent martini and perfect wine as well as cappuccino. The waiter and owner made us feel at home. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️
Regina D — Google review
Everytime I come down to Ventura me and my wife come here. I recommend the Zach's Pie and Creme Brulee cheesecake for dessert. Built in an old home from the thirties with a remodeled bar, different atmosphere from the main room to outdoor patio. Wonderful restaurant.

Cozy, quiet Cafe Zack is a great place for intimate lunches or dinners with a little bit of a European feel. The food was definitely above average, all meals served were visually and tastefully attractive. Wait staff and employees and accommodating and friendly. Good place to eat in Ventura.

Had a great time here! 🐶🏖️ We took our dogs and enjoyed the beach for a few hours. Met a lovely couple and their eight-year-old daughter – the kids had a blast playing together! Definitely planning on coming back soon! 🥰 #BeachDay #FamilyFun #DogFriendly #Vacation #Memories

This is a fantastic spot to relax with family or friends. We especially enjoyed Coastal Cone Ice Cream, with their unique Taiyaki fish-shaped waffle cones filled with ice cream—it was a highlight! Margarita Villa Mexican restaurant was decent, though not particularly memorable. There’s plenty of parking, and the beach is just a short walk away. Unfortunately, the boat rental was closed on Sunday, so we missed the chance to ride the swan boats, which would have been a great family activity.

I think we hit every shop in this place looking for trinkets to take home to my family I found a few and of course after finding the little things I was wanting the very last shop would have been the best to purchase at. Don't remember the name of the shop but they had some great deals. Bottom line the shops in the harbor that are left there or nice to shop through and the people were great.
Ed W — Google review
Always a pleasure to be here! Not so crowded, can always find a parking spot even on the weekend, love to walk around, have some seafood or ice cream, fun doing the boating, life is better with the cooler weather here.

We love to take the boats out. We usually pay to rent them for an hour or so. It's a fun activity. My kids love it!!

There is a lot to see just walking around. Little shops to go into. Food. Drink. You GOT to rent a paddle boat or kayak for at least an hour. Its safe and interesting and beautiful. I saw seals, fish, and birds close enough for a thrill but far enough to be safe. Some of the paddle boats are in the shape of big swans! There are also electric boats with sun shade that carry a small group.

Hit the new BOBQ by The SEA shop for some Thai Ice Tea -- met the owners, couple of very friendly, helpful guys. Shop is in the Soft Opening phase, but is already comfortable, clean and inviting. They have plenty of seating, inside and out on the patio. Their selection of card games gives it a homey feel. Their Thai Ice Tea was really good -- Daughter and I have been trying different Boba spots lately and we both agree: Boba by the Sea is the BEST we've had yet! Wish we lived closer?! If you're in the Ventura Harbor area and need some good Milk/Boba Tea made by a couple down to Eaetg guys that KNOW what they're doing? STOP IN AND GIVE EM A SHOT!

This is such a good ice cream/dessert place! I stop by every time I am in the Oxnard area. The Hawaiian remix is one of my favorite flavors. We always get the 805 milkshake cuz Oxnard strawberries are the best! The fish zookies they sell are also delicious. Make sure you eat them when they are hot though. Fun atmosphere and cute location. Love this place! (Although it’s expensive, it’s quite fun.)

It melted as it was handed to me, as soon as I got it in my hands I saw a spalt on their counter. By the time I go to the parking lot half of it had dripped all over the concrete. I'm not sure if this was due to the flavor I chose or perhaps a newbie employee that served it incorrectly. The atmosphere is great and they have an abundant menu but unfortunately I was given a faulty one

A MUST TRY spot in Ventura! This place offers such a unique ice cream experience right by the water. The presentation alone is worth the trip. It is picture-perfect and totally Instagram worthy. We couldn’t get enough of the Nutella-stuffed Fishzookies, which are crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside. Pair it with creamy ice cream and wow. I was really torn between flavors, but ultimately settled on cookie dough ice cream (which I 100% recommend). They had many flavors to choose from, cone or cup options, and even a cute fish cone option that I'd likely go back for later to try out. The staff was really friendly and service was fast.

Very beautiful Park in a nice neighborhood, with restrooms, plenty of parking, and hardly any homeless people. The park appears to be dog friendly and there is a section just for dogs. Most of the people in the park are playing ball, enjoying family time, walking or jogging. There are lots of picnic tables and trash cans. There's a nice playground section by the tennis courts for the kids.

A great park to take your furry friends and enjoy some out door time. Separate area available at back of park for small dogs and large dogs without leashes. And a ton of walking area with leashes.

I love this park! It’s well maintained although the road in the park really should get repaved. If you drive further back there is a sink near picnic tables that has running water and there’s another faucet near tables past the playground. Not sure if the water is potable so I can’t recommend drinking it. There’s a dog park that has a fence around it and it looks like dogs enjoy it. I don’t talk to any of the dogs in person but they sure look happy. There’s courts (I’m assuming tennis) located to the left when you first drive in and they look well kept. The bathrooms are clean and always had toilet paper when I had to use them. The fields are really big and I’ve been here during little league and it gets packed! Not all the time but sometimes. Lots of shade to park under and great place to just chill.
Mr. H — Google review
Great park with plenty of open spaces. The park had several parties going on with plenty of space.🦋 Were all around the park as a bonus. Great place to walk play ball or bring your 🐕 dog to fenced in area for social time.
Lori S — Google review
Beautiful park BUT read to the bottom! The parking to get to the dog park may be too far to walk for some people. I have a small dog. There is only one bench and bring your own water. If new, you may not understand how to open the gates. WARNING: There is a woman on the back side with a van she lives in with a LOT of small dogs she puts outside in a pen. At least one dog can scale the fencing and will attack. She knows this but doesn't always pay much attention as her dog easily got over the fence and made it to my dog and attacked him. Animal control has been out there but do nothing.

Title: A Canine Haven in Nature's Embrace Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5 stars) Camino Real Park truly stands out as a gem for dog lovers and their furry companions. Nestled in the heart of nature's embrace, this park offers an exceptional experience that caters to both dogs and their humans. The highlight of Camino Real Park is undoubtedly its spacious and well-maintained dog park. The area provides ample room for our four-legged friends to roam, run, and play freely. What sets this park apart is the thoughtful inclusion of mature trees that generously provide shade, creating a comfortable environment for both pets and owners, even on hot summer days. As a dog owner, I appreciate the foresight of the park's planners in considering our pets' well-being. Picnic tables thoughtfully scattered throughout the dog park offer a perfect spot for human companions to relax while keeping an eye on their playful pups. It's an ideal setup for socializing with other dog owners and sharing joyful moments with fellow pet enthusiasts. One of the highlights that stood out to me during my visits was the presence of a doggy drinking fountain. This small yet significant feature emphasizes the park's commitment to ensuring the welfare of our beloved pets. Having a readily available water source for our furry friends is a testament to the park's dedication to creating a safe and welcoming space for all visitors. Beyond the park's amenities, the community of dog owners that frequent Camino Real Park is incredibly warm and friendly. Everyone seems genuinely invested in ensuring a positive experience for their dogs and other park-goers. It's heartwarming to witness how quickly friendships form between humans and their pets, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie among the visitors. Camino Real Park has undoubtedly become a go-to destination for me and my canine companion. The park's commitment to providing a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable environment for our furry friends is evident in every aspect. I wholeheartedly recommend this park to any dog owner seeking a serene place to bond with their pets, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the camaraderie of a wonderful community.

I really enjoyed my visit here. I ordered the house salad and the “flaming cheese” which was a very fun experience but you definitely need people to share with you. It’s literally a steak of cheese 🧀 The avocado on the salad was delicious and the chicken was moist and not dry which I loved. I’d be happy to visit again soon!
Di P — Google review
Disappointed with the food, unfortunately. The Poseidon pasta was watery (far from rich lobster broth that was described). The calamari and clam chowder were OK. But the biggest disappointment was the mix souvlaki. The meat needs more seasoning and was overcooked (it was dry and tough). Tzatziki sauce was just ok.

The food is simply delicious! It feels like my grandmother made it. The mushrooms were made with garlic, the lamb was well done. I can’t believe I didn’t know this place before. It was the best experience I’ve had with food in Ventura county. The service was great. I’ll definitely be back soon!!

Hello Everyone — I’m writing this review with an intention that it will help the wider community to get a sense of the restaurant in terms of location, food quality and services including staffs behavior plus location. If the wider community gets benefited out of it, I will be very happy. This is one of our fav place in Ventura Harbor Village and as always we visited for the brunch around July 2025. Overall our experience was Amazing — starting from start to finish. Food — we ordered Fish & Chips and Santorini Pasta, both were delicious 😋 Service — Excellent service and the server was so nice that it gave an overall homely vibes. At the end, they gave us a complimentary coffee ☕️ Atmosphere— Very nice. Location — It’s just in front of the harbor so you can get the beautiful view of the road and harbor both together…. Restroom — it’s one area which we always look for once travel. It’s very much clean and highly maintained and renovated.

Ambience is the selling point, service is very good. As for the food, well, my recommendation is to stick with Greek on the menu. The steak and seafood dishes were just not up to par. Too salty, over cooked, bland or dry, all over the place. Greek dishes and appetizers, on the other hand were spot on.

Perfect spot to enjoy fresh Oysters! You can make a picnic out of it with friends or family. We saw others had brought snacks, alcohol etc, were using the little grills available by the tables. Great when you want to shuck your own oysters. You’re in for a fun time no doubt. Bring your own shuckers, buy one from the shop, or just ask to borrow one. Whatever which way, you’ll have some fun. Shuck shuck away. Their smaller ones are usually better, in a sweeter way. We love getting the Kumamoto variety mainly. Open air seating at the beach and you can have open containers. Good deal!

Awesome place, got this recommendation from a friend. Oysters are so fresh, and nothing like an original glass coke bottle to wash it down. I do think there was way more and excessive salt on the bottom of the plate, but nothing to the point where I wouldn’t have enjoyed it. Their incredible salad bar is the star of the show—tons of delicious fresh toppings and amazing house-made dressing, and there’s always an employee dedicated to keeping the salad bar stocked and clean. And their pizza always hits just right!! Fresh-made, classic, and always tasty. And if you have room for dessert, their pizza cookies are SO GOOD. Toppers also has excellent patio seating (with heaters in the winter months) if you prefer to eat outside! Overall, Toppers excels at attention to detail and customer service, fresh ingredients, and classic, delicious flavors!!

Great salad bar quick service and generously made pizza. 🍕 It reminds me of the Pizza Hut atmosphere from the 90s with a modern look.

I rarely feel moved to leave a review these days. I want to leave one today! We had a delicious dinner delivered and everything about the experience was top notch! We ordered online, very fast and easy. 30 minutes later a very friendly, professional person delivered hot tasty food. Great customer service. The kind we all wish still existed. In an environment of uber this and dasher that, Toppers is tops in my opinion. For a stand out dinner in, you won’t be disappointed by Toppers.

Steak house
Seafood restaurant
Aloha Steakhouse is a popular waterfront restaurant known for its prime rib, seafood, and other steakhouse specialties in a laid-back setting. The restaurant offers stunning ocean views and overlooks the historic Ventura Pier. Guests can enjoy a delectable menu featuring juicy steaks, clam chowder, teriyaki chicken, and more. The cocktail offerings are equally impressive.
We went to Aloha Steakhouse in Ventura looking for a place to eat some fresh cooked fish. We were not disappointed by our dinner choice for date night. The interior design of the restaurant was well designed. They have seating indoor & outside seating, with a nice bar area to grab a drink, while you wait for a table. The service was very good and we were able to get a booth with a reservation. The staff was very friendly and our waiter was kind and attentive. We really enjoyed the salmon and halibut. My wife got the salmon with the house salad and it was very refreshing. I tried the halibut, which was the daily fish special. I got it prepared with the Parmesan crust. The fish was delicious and very satisfying. They also do parking validation. The next time we come try some of the steak options!

Me and my spouse came here to celebrate our anniversary for future reference it’s better to make a reservation cause this place gets packed even on a week day. The food here was really good we tried the artichoke dip with the jalapeño toast and was so good I really need to know how they make that toast also tried the teriyaki chicken which was also really good but extremely overpriced! paid $30 for a piece of chicken and a slice of grilled pineapple not mention that it only comes with one side for that price we should I least get two! Overall I did enjoy the service from our waitress.

We came to Aloha Steakhouse on a Sunday evening around 5 PM. Even though it was pretty busy, we were seated right away. Our waiter was kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We had a booth which was perfect for our small kids. They even gave them crayons and coloring books to keep them entertained. The atmosphere was really nice and upscale but still family friendly which we really appreciated. We even had a view of the ocean from our booth and the noise level was just right, not too loud. The food was outstanding. We had the ribeye cooked rare and it was absolutely perfect. The steak came with steamed vegetables that were fresh and flavorful. Our kids had cheeseburgers and fries and we also tried the craft burger with fries. The fries were crispy and delicious across the board. Multiple staff members checked on us throughout the meal but it never felt overwhelming. Sometimes restaurants overdo it but this was just outstanding service from start to finish. Overall it was a great experience with amazing food, excellent service, and a comfortable environment for families. We will definitely be back.
Dillon L — Google review
We ordered a ribeye steak medium rare to share and it came out medium well and overly seasoned. I had a bowl of clam chowder which was pretty rich and decently flavored but not great. The wedge salad was decent. Mediocre french fries. Overall meh.. staff was nice.

Rib Eye Steaks 🥩, Wedge salads, chocolate souffle and banana's foster OH MY! Food was delicious, service was great and ambiance fun with an Ocean view. Watch people stroll along the boardwalk as you make up your own stories as they pass by while the server flambes your bananas foster table side. There is a kids menus, paid parking with 2 hr validation. A great place for a fun dinner with family or friends.

We stayed another day in Ventura. We decided to try out Aloha Steak in Ventura on a Wednesday evening, right by the beach near the pier, this place was lively! Even midweek, it was packed, but we got a table quickly and checked out their happy hour menu, which was seriously awesome. We got a bit carried away with the ordering—the clam chowder was a total standout, super creamy and bursting with flavor. The chicken satay was alright but a little dry. The fish and chips were solid, with flaky fish and perfectly crispy fries. And the shrimp cocktail? Those shrimps were huge and super fresh. Service was a bit slow, likely because of a big party in the restaurant keeping the staff busy. Still, the food quality was top-notch, and the ocean view from our table was fantastic—such a great Ventura beach vibe. Plus, free parking with validation was a nice perk. If you’re after a vibrant spot for a meal by the water, Aloha Steak’s a solid choice for a weeknight or any night!

Had the filet mignon with fry’s. Solid B+ for both. Wife had prime rib, C- baked potato C+. Windows looking out towards the pier definitely needed cleaning. Brian was very good server.

The food is delicious, the service is good the unfortunate thing here is they ran out of sour cream for my baked potato. But they have a lovely and delicious macadamia crusted halibut steak with peanut sauce and teriyaki drizzle. Yummy. My husband had a juicy ribeye steak. It's a little pricey but worth it. Beautiful ocean view.

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Spencer Makenzie's. Not quite as popular as Ventura Pier, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Spencer Makenzie's is a small, popular restaurant known for its award-winning fish tacos and burritos. The casual, beach bum-style eatery offers outdoor seating and homemade sauces and salsas. With a focus on high-quality, healthy dishes at budget-friendly prices, this family-operated spot serves up fast food seafood with an emphasis on flavor. Their tempura-battered fish and shrimp are hand-dipped for freshness and crispness, making them a must-try.
Quote from my son: “the only seafood chowder I’ve ever had that beats this clam chowder bread 🍞 bowl is back home in Maryland and it was crab chowder.” The fish, calamari, & carne asada tacos were excellent but I would concur with my boy that the clam chowder is a must try!
Mateo M — Google review
They go a long way with their history and reputation. Ventura is a hotbed of fish tacos. And Spencer Makenzie’s has gained notoriety for their fish tacos. Is it the best in Ventura? Some would say yes. Others would say they have competition. Nonetheless the fish tacos are good. Really good. And if you’re on the fish tacos trail it’s worthy of a stop. Was quite impressed with their fish taco. Was not so impressed with the Tuna version of the fish taco. Not sure why clam chowder is on the menu, but it was met with delight. Street tacos were solid. Veggie tacos as well. Great staff with a good attitude and upbeat energy.

Let's go over a Few things. SEATING: There's seating inside, outside and Bar side. The outside Order window is basically if you order outside. Inside is forest cone first serve seating and they'll bring you a menu (so don't wait to be seated etc just walk in and seat yourself). The car is basically the same. STAFF: Staff here seems to have fun and iS super friendly and on top of making sure your drinks are filled and bringing you food if you order more. You can see them talking and having fun while working which in turn makes them happy to be here and has them treating you better. FOOD: The World Famous Fish Tacos is what I had. 1 regular and 1 Brooklyn style. Both where good it honestly just counts but go with Brooklyn style for a bit more kick. Each taco is on a 7 inch flour tortilla. So they're not small. I'll definitely stop in again when in the area.

We had fish tacos and beer. Really enjoyed the sauce and the addition of bell peppers and the 3 kinds of hot sauces. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Ventura and a great experience!

Been coming here for years, didn’t realize I haven’t reviewed them yet. Best fish tacos! Love to grab them and walk the bridge over the freeway and enjoy lunch on the pier. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Service is always fast and friendly.
Dan M — Google review
I like the fish and chips mostly the fish part, their sweet chili sauce is good, that’s my positive note. Now, I said no cilantro 3 times, they gave me a cilantro burrito, not much else, no salsa in it, no onions, flavor less, just a heap of cilantro, I had to do surgery for 10 minutes to remove them. I’m not happy, I made sure the girl taking my order understood me, I was polite and clear, but I guess someone didn’t or did it on purpose.
G X — Google review
If it wasn't called the best fish taco, this would be a 4 star because my expectations were very high and I was highly disappointed in the end. Ordered one fried fish, one grilled fish taco and one tuna. The presentation is very subpar with very little color that pops and had even a ginormous chunk of slaw that I had to remove. As far as flavor the grilled one was a bit fishy but the biggest problem is all the sauce is at the bottom instead of being spread out. And raw bell peppers don't really add any flavor. Wish those were grilled at least and seem like an after thought. The tuna was decent with the sauce being the star. Didn't know what Brooklyn style was but it was a spicy sweet chili sauce. The one pro is that the tacos are on the bigger side but couple of the tortillas were over crisped for my liking

Cool local spot for fish tacos and whatnot. Solid food, local beer, nice peeps, chill Vta vibes. The play is to park at Transmission Brewery on Front St., have a beer on tap, then walk 3 blocks to Spencer Makenzie's. Trust me on this. You're welcome. 😎

Restaurant
Lure Fish House, located in Downtown Ventura, offers an upscale seafood dining experience with a focus on fresh, sustainable, and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant features an oyster bar and prides itself on serving locally caught seafood and organically grown produce. With its nautical-themed decor, spacious interiors, and dedication to using local wines whenever possible, Lure Fish House provides a warm and relaxing ambiance for guests.
The highlights were definitely the miso glazed sea bass skewers and the clam chowder. The sauce for the linguine with clams was a little thin and the lobster ravioli didn’t have a ton of lobster. Our server, Joel, was super attentive especially for such a busy night and offered to cut the peach lemonade with some iced tea and it was very refreshing and tasty. The key lime pie wasn’t as lime forward as I hoped

Went in on a Saturday for lunch with 3 people. Was able to be seated at a high top table straight away. Great vibe, friendly and quick service. We ordered dirty martinis and when we asked for more olive brine they happily obliged. We ordered fresh and broiled oysters to share as well as mussels abs lobster roll. All were fantastic! Even the bread with whipped butter was delightful! Loved this spot.

I recently discovered Lure Fish House thanks to its fantastic online reviews. I was so impressed that I ended up going for happy hour two days in a row! I absolutely loved their seafood tower, oyster shooters, and biscuits. The sundae was also a delicious treat to end the meal. The pepper dish was a bit too spicy for my taste, but overall, the food was great and the service was excellent. I will definitely be back for more!

We had a great dinner with excellent service. We had the cheddar biscuits which were delicious. We also had the Vancouver oysters and the mussels with chorizo which was delicious. The entrees had mix reviews. My fish and chips were great though they needed some salt. My lady had the lobster ravioli which was drowned in cheese. Personally I don't mind all that cheese but it seemed overpowering to the flavor of the ravioli. But all in all a very lovely end to our day trip to Ventura and for 3 appetizers, 2 entrees And 2 non alcoholic drinks for $110, a great bargain !

First time coming here after hearing how great it was, figured we needed to try it! It was great! We sat outside and the day was beautiful with the nearby ocean breeze it was perfect! The inside was very trendy and modern with everything very first class. Our waiter Jairo was very attentive and gave us great recommendations on our food and drinks! The food was very tasty and well prepared! Strongly recommend when you're in the area!

My wife and I recently dined at Lure Fish House in Ventura for dinner during a quick visit, drawn in by its stellar Yelp reviews. Even on a Tuesday night, the place was buzzing, which is always a good sign. The vibe is cool with nice decor—think coastal chic without being over-the-top. The service was a highlight; our server, Rachel, was an absolute star, super friendly, and on top of everything. We kicked things off with steamed clams and the fish chowder Veracruz as appetizers. The clams were plump and meaty, a solid start. The chowder packed a lot of flavor, though I was a bit bummed it was light on actual fish. The house bread was a nice surprise—crispy crust, soft inside, perfect for mopping up the clam broth. For mains, I went with their famous dab fish, which didn’t disappoint. The skin was crispy, the meat flaky and tender, and it came with two sides, which was a nice touch. My wife got the lobster ravioli, and while it was tasty, the lobster filling was a bit sparse for her liking. Dessert was the Basque cheesecake with strawberry. It was decent but denser than the classic burnt Basque style I was hoping for, and I was kinda expecting fresh strawberries instead of the canned strawberries with sauce. Parking was an easy with a free public lot nearby, which is always a win. To sum it up, Lure Fish House is a good choice for seafood lovers. Great atmosphere, awesome service, and mostly hits the mark on the food. I’d come back again if I’m back in Ventura!l

Absolutely recommended! We really enjoyed everything! The food was wonderful, and the service was excellent. We were seated very quickly, served right away, and the dishes were prepared and presented in no time. Everything was delicious—from the appetizers to the hot dishes and soups. The salad, oysters, calamari, fish, and all the other dishes we tried were fresh and flavorful. Highly recommended!

We had a great time have dinner during summer evening. We sat outside for happy hour. I found it a bit warm inside. Outside offer a nice breeze to keep us cool. Food was delicious and filling. We ordered the LINGUINE WITH CLAMS Parsley, butter, lemon, white wine, olive oil, garlic, MUSSELS BASQUAISE black mussels, Fire-roasted tomato broth, Spanish chorizo, queso fresco, garlic bread with and CHIPOTLE SHRIMP TACO.

Fluid State Beer Garden offers a laid-back setting with a charming rustic decor and comfortable seating, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a variety of draft craft beers and sourdough pizza. The outdoor patio is perfect for unwinding with tacos or a slice of pizza, while the spacious beer garden welcomes dogs. The casual yet inviting atmosphere makes it an excellent choice for groups looking to relax over drinks and delicious food.
Fluid State is a for sure go to date spot or the spot to grab beers post work. They have plenty of beers on tap that rotate regularly. Do not be afraid of the long lines! The line moves fast and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor patio seating! Personally I love their amber ales and ciders. We love this spot. The portions are huge so makes a great place to share with friends. Also, they do sourdough pizza by the slice.

It’s a busy location and more on a beautiful day. There are kids running around but for the most part the families were sat in front of the building and not the side. The pizza was mid but the wings were good. Beers selection is good, cocktails are good too and so is the Cider. I would definitely come back, just be prepared for it to be busy.

Our first time today for Mother's Day 2025 and we couldn't have asked for a better day in the sunshine at Fluid State. What a great place - inside dining, and outside dining in two places. Great selections of drinks and food. Was so happy we snagged a parking spot across the street and got in and out with no problems. Margherita Pizza and Pretzal with Pub cheese = a fine dining experience in downtown Ventura! Thank you so much Fluid State! 🍕🌴🌊

Came on a Tuesday evening around 3pm and there wasn’t a lot of people. They had lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. We got the sourdough pepperoni pizza and one of the spiked ice tea drinks they had for happy hour. I loved the people working and the atmosphere of the store. People were super nice & it is dog friendly outside. I would come again! the pizza was so so good!

Got the pizza and a beer. Beer was a little overpriced and foamed to the brim. Pizza was good and they have a lot of healthy options too. Fun little industrial style brewery with a very comfy lounge area. Can sit inside and outside. Staff were great and buss boys were amazing too. Staying on top of everything. Will be back again.

I visited this place for analytics. What do I want to say? It's an absolutely tasteless, over-salted pizza with terrible dough, dirty tables, stinky dirty restrooms, unfriendly staff who won't even say hello or provide a menu within 20 minutes of your arrival! 4 out of 10 service, and the atmosphere of a cheap bar. I don't understand why there are so many people there on weekdays. It's probably because of the parking lot and the cheap menu.

What a fantastic tiki experience! We went during happy hour and had 4 drinks and some kalua pork sliders. Okay so this place is goated. Was an awesome vibes on a Monday night. 🫡 the overall experience was so cool bc bartenders checked on me like every drink for close out or more, rare to see these days. On point crew. The drinks were soooo good too. Alc heavy ;) ifyyk.

One of the best Tiki bars this side of the country! Knowledgeable bartenders care about preserving Tiki culture, not just through the drinks they craft, but the atmosphere they keep. Awesome people with great recommendations for other bars around the country. Make sure you stop by for Tsunami Warning, the best happy hour in the city. Ask for their postcard too!

The food here is dangerously good - absolutely phenomenal quality! You can definitely add this to the list of best restaurants in town. The drinks are also incredible with a wide selection. There are three different seating areas all with their own atmosphere. The bartenders are all awesome. Love the vibe here! One of my favorite tiki places!

I love ventiki. I've been frequenting for years. I came September 14th for my birthday and it was AMAZING, omg. The bartender. The waitress. Perfection. The best birthday i could ask for and it made me want to come back even more. So I came back today. October 17th. The waitress wasnt great. She refused multiple cards. There was 4. Thats semi fine. But she lost almost 100$ + tip in just one person alone because he always gets a lot but he only got one bc thats all I could afford. So we all lost out because of that. Which is really sucky but not terrible. For the drinks, most people would be happy they were REALLLY strong. Im not a drinker, so it was super strong and not really that good. The bartender did remake it ♡♡♡ but she was not happy about it. Which I'm sorry about on her end. My best advice, because I love ventiki, go Sundays. The waitress is amazing. Idk if the same bartender will be there as sept 14th, but thats okay bc the waitress is a godsend.

If you're in Ventura looking for a cool, fun spot to get good food and drink, look no further. This is a cool locals spot, which serves good food, and what makes this place even better is that it's a tiki bar. A mixologists approach is used when prepping the drinks, and as a result, the drinks are well balanced and tasty. The bartenders here are knowledgeable about the tiki culture, both historically and cocktailwise, which adds to the appeal. This spot is first come, first served. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Definitely stop by, grab a seat, and enjoy good food, drink, and people. Cheers and I'll see you there!

Ventura Botanical Gardens

Botanical garden
Ventura Botanical Gardens, a project initiated by passionate Ventura residents in 2012, is nestled in Grant Park's steep foothills. The 107-acre green space offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the ocean, city of Ventura, coastline, Channel Islands, and surrounding mountains. Visitors can explore the Demonstration Trail, a mile-long path with hand-made stone walls and decomposed granite surface.
We visited Ventura Botanical Gardens on a March afternoon and spent about 3 hours hiking the trail up the mountain and back. It's sectioned by plant type, so you can walk through areas of plants native to a particular area of the world. Allow enough time to enjoy the views and gardens and not be too rushed. I would say 2 hours, at least. Admission is $7 per adult non-member. Members, children 18 and under and EBT cardholders enter free of charge. Fridays are free as well. I advise sunscreen and a hat if it'll be sunny. There is very little shade along the trail.
Ned G — Google review
I absolutely LOVE the botanical gardens, it is such a gorgeous walk with increasingly beautiful views of the ocean as you ascend the trail. The plants are magnificent, with different regions showcasing Chilean, Californian, Mediterranean, and South African plant varieties. Fridays are free entry and Wednesday and Friday dogs are allowed. I visit every time I have friends visiting and it’s wonderful to see how the plants look in all the different seasons! Could not recommend more.
Madison P — Google review
Great place for the Ventura ocean view. Not interested in the plants there to be hornest, as some were bone dry. Also great to get your steps in and hick up a hill.

Gardens were beautiful. My only complaint was that we got locked out and had to walk all the way around. I think it would be common courtesy to let us know when we bought tickets at 3:30, they would have warned us that we would be locked out if not back by 5:00.

Cafe Fiore is a bustling trattoria that offers classic Italian fare in an intimate setting. The restaurant features live music and patio dining, creating a lively atmosphere for guests to enjoy. The menu includes delicious surprises such as Braised shank of lamb with house potato gnocchi drenched in Gorgonzola sauce. Additionally, the restaurant is known for its fantastic appetizers and excellent cocktails.
Date night, fun night! Great ambience, wonderful food. Went there with my partner and sat at one of the booths near the bar. It wasn't too loud or crowded for a Sunday night, so it was perfect. We had the burrata salad as an appetizer. It was very delicious. One of the best I've had. For our entree, I had the pasta al forno, while my girl had the cioppino. They do make all their sauces and pasta in-house, and I gotta say, they knock it out of the park. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area. Let's not forget their waiting area with a warm hearth, which created a cozy and inviting space where you can share a glass of wine while you wait for a table.

Had a wonderful evening at Café Fiore in downtown Ventura. We sat outside — it was a little chilly, but the heaters kept us comfortable. The inside atmosphere looked cozy and romantic, perfect for a date night. Bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus. We weren’t very hungry, so my husband and I shared the Cozze e Vongole along with a half bottle of Chianti — both were excellent. But the best part? The bread! Hands down, the best free bread we’ve ever had — a mix of French bread and focaccia served with garlic marinara. Absolutely delicious! Great service, great vibe, and amazing food. We’d definitely come back next time we’re in Ventura.

Awful food and place to have a good dinning experience. They ask you how you want your steak medium or well done as if they are going to make it fresh, then they take a refrigerated cold meat and serve it cold. Not sure what the hell the cook was thinking. This was after I had to return the chicken soup to be heated because it was cold. Avoid by all means to dine there because it leaves you disgusted and angry.

Cafe Fiore - Our New Favorite Italian Dining Spot! We recently celebrated my wife's birthday at Cafe Fiore in Ventura, and it was an unforgettable experience! We had dinner on Wednesday evening at 8 PM, and from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was excellent--attentive without being intrusive--and the food was absolutely delicious. The standout dish of the night? The lasagna. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly layered with fresh ingredients. It was so good that we found ourselves craving it again and made a special trip back Saturday morning just to have it again! Cafe Fiore has officially become our new favorite Italian dining spot. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a great meal, this place is a must-visit. We look forward to coming back!

We’ve enjoyed lunch and dinners here the last three weeks in a row and Edwin has been the Best Server on the patio. Pastas made in house, pizza was insane, fresh delicious toppings and yummy crust!

We can't believe how good the food is at this restaurant. It's unbelievably delicious...fresh ingredients, homemade pasta and even the gluten free pasta was so good, same consistency and flavor as wheat pasta. The tomato-based sauces are flavorful and not overpowered by garlic, as some restaurants tend to do, and all you get is heartburn. The cream sauces are going to make you think you died and went to heaven. You can taste the butter and the real cream. Pizza? We always order one to go when we go for dinner because it's that good. If you're in town, this is definitely a must eat place.

Great food, ambiance and location. Wine list was also a big plus. Great portion sizes! Ordered two salads and a main for two people and had plenty of leftovers.

We had a party of twelve for a birthday dinner at this beautiful restaurant on Saturday night so the restaurant added a required 18% gratuity on the bill, which is absolutely standard practice...no problem, right? WRONG! We had the worst service so we were forced to pay an exorbitant up charge for basically nothing. For starters we had to ask for bread three separate times but it did not come until way later right before our food arrived. I thought maybe the delay was because it was being baked or something, but it arrived cold. He never offered another round of drinks, no waters or soft drinks refilled, no appetizer plates cleared, we basically had to flag our unfriendly waiter down for any request. We just handed him the card when the check finally came so we could get out of there before he pulled another disappearing act and of course there were errors on it after we paid, which caused another delay. He's getting his tip money either way so why even try is my takeaway from the quality of service. The food wasn’t great. Fried artichoke appetizer was supposed to be crispy but was really soggy bland shreds. The pizza had a crispy saltine cracker like crust, lasagna was salty, lamb shank was just ok. Not coming back when we feel, for lack of a better word, scammed.

I travel to the area for work and this place adds another 30-45mins to my drive back home but it is completely worth it. It's a local staple situated on a walking street so you dont have to worry about traffic noise any more. I go weekdays after 4 and there is plenty of seating available. Food is always great, staff very friendly and don't rush you.

Terrible food and bad service. The meat is tough as rubber, and it's impossible to eat it! Chefs don't know how to cook at all. The cutlery was dirty, especially the fork! Had to be replaced. We ordered one wine and brought another. We ordered a dry red sauvignon wine, and brought a semi-sweet white one. And then it turned out that there was no dry wine at all, which the waiter was obliged to warn about, but did not do so. We tried to order more food at 9:20, but they answered that kitchen already close. Ok, “thank you” for bad evening. No one even apologized for the spoiled meat, dirty cutlery, and mistakes in service. I don't recommend this place to anyone. You will save your money and nerves.

I’ve enjoyed going to Winchesters for years. I hadn’t gone there for months. I went today and apparently the business was sold to new owners, and I have to say I won’t be going back. The staff was limited but very nice, but the food sucked, which saddened me because they had good food, not anymore. They’ve changed the menu and don’t even offer a drink menu. I ordered French onion soup and basically got broth with a tiny bit of onions and stale bread with hard cheese on it, including some weird hard (what I would say looked like a biscuit and the shape of a flower; it was tasteless. Makes me sad because I really loved that place. Definitely will not be going there again and will not recommend to any of my friends.

I haven’t eaten here for a bit, but today we popped in on a Friday afternoon and had the Cobb salad and my partner got the chicken breast dinner and it was excellent! It feels like the old Winchesters standard is back and ready for business! I highly recommend and hope this landmark stays open for locals and tourists alike!

NEW OWNER NEW B.O.M.B. FOOD. Same great OG atmosphere friendly staff. See Cody at the bar. This place has taken off for the next level. The sliders are delicious. That aeloi is addictive and the medium rare coarse ground Angus beef let's the flavor of the medium rare charred meat and melted fat shine. Properly dressed soft chewy mildly salty sweet bun toasty on the outside. Sinful. Melted cheese in those jalapeño poppers should be sold by the gram. They've tightened up their game big time. Forget what you heard or remember and come try it now.

Movie theater
Snack bar
Cinemark Century Ventura Downtown 10 is a modern theater complex located in downtown Ventura. It offers a variety of new releases, 3D films, and the convenience of print-at-home tickets. The theater also features arcade games for entertainment. The location in downtown Ventura allows for easy access to nearby restaurants and attractions, making it a convenient choice for moviegoers looking to enjoy a complete evening out. The theater itself boasts comfortable seating with ample space between rows, providing a pleasant viewing experience.
This theater is smaller than the Cinemark in Oxnard, but ironically it has better seating. Big, overpadded recliner seats with footrests and wide aisles. I guess they decided that if they are going to have fewer seats per screen, then they might as well lean into it and have the most spacious seating. The location on Main street is very convenient. There are a ton of bars and restaurants in that area, a parking garage just a block away, and a five minute walk to the beach. So whether you are planning date night or a family outing, it is very easy to spend a whole afternoon on Main St.

Love this theater. Walk to alot of fine dining or quick bites. Love the reclining love seats. Always a nice quiet experience. Never crowded and lines for concessions are fast.
Georgina C — Google review
As movie theaters go it's solid in every way: great sound, great projection, massive comfy seats, etc. It's rarely crowded and has big concession stands. I also love the neon / LED lighting on the whole exterior mid-century facade is great. And it's right in the heart of everything.

Watched Ghostbusters in theater 2 on Thu evening - there were just a handful of people. Parking in the back was free but full. Theater is nice, seating is spaced nicely so you have room to walk even if others are reclined. Screen is higher than most theater we've been to, so the rear rows should be able to see fine. We got middle seats on row E which I thought was just nice. Seats recline to about 45°, wish it'd recline a tad more. Weirdly could hear sound from next theater, not well insulated?

This theater is great, I'd say the most comfortable seating from anything in Santa Barbara and most surrounding areas. Taco restaurant
Beach House Tacos is a popular seaside eatery located on Ventura Pier, offering a blend of upscale California vibes and delicious Mexican-inspired dishes. The menu features tasty options like fish tacos, grilled shrimp burritos, and carnitas taco plates. With plenty of outdoor seating options and shade cover, diners can enjoy their meals while taking in the great views and vibrant atmosphere of the pier. The staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring that orders are served promptly.
This place is certainly not the cleanest, flashiest, or mistaken for the best service in town. However, their food is delicious and plentiful. They charge very reasonable prices and have a great assortment of fresh seafood tacos and burritos to choose from! The Ahi Tuna and Baja Shrimp tacos are totally addictive, so be careful.

Coming from San Diego, we had huge expectations. The food is reasonable but they don't have salsa bar. It's good if you are in the area. Self serve: order at a window, wait for your number to be called, pick up food, beg for mini salsa cups and you get 2 at a time no matter how much you ask. We ordered 4 entrees and got 2 salsa. We asked for more and got 2 again. Their default tip for self serve and repeated requests for salsa is 15%. What are we tipping for? Location is great next to the pier. Paid parking to get here.

This place was recommend as a good place to get a cheap meal. It is not. Its not even a place I would recommend for anything. We got the seafood burrito, and the popcorn shrimp. The burrito was very dry and tasted very fishy. The popcorn shrimp was ok.

Omigosh these tacos made me SO happy! I ordered 4 tacos (for two) and ate the messy goodness on the beach nearby. The Baja taco is fantastic - get grilled fish! The chipotle crema is TO DIE FOR! The Marilu was giant and full of queso fresco, though I think it'd be best with grilled fish too. I also ordered the Calamari Taco and the Beach House. Such good flavor and generous fish portions in these tacos. I'll be back, Beach House Tacos!

With the insane cost of food in California right now, this place is an oasis. In terms of nutrition, most take out meals are 80% simple carbohydrates. I'm looking at my Beach House ahi tuna taco - and it's all fresh - 20% high quality (and delicious) protein and 70% vegetables!

Emma Wood State Beach, situated about two miles west of Ventura, is a popular oceanside destination offering activities like swimming, surfing, fishing, and camping. The beach is known for its rich marine life including perch, cabezon, bass, and corbina due to the Ventura River Estuary at the southeast end. Visitors can also spot dolphins swimming offshore and enjoy sightings of wildlife such as raccoons and great blue herons. Additionally, the park provides fire pits for a cozy beach experience.
Stopped by here to support state parks and enjoy the west coast beach. I arrived near the end of the day and the friendly ranger let me know to use the parking app for an hourly pay option, rather than the entire day use fee, so that was quite nice. I enjoyed my time, stayed about 2 hours. It was a clean beach, not very populated, and I was able to hop up on some riprap and just enjoy the beach for a while.

Easily accessed from Hwy 101 and, course, the PCH. Laid back spot, perfect for an impromptu stop or an all-day family outing. Whether you're a single person, a couple, a group of friends, or a whole family..... You won't be disappointed by the natural wonders of this large beach. I was there several days in a row (day use only) and never felt crowded. No services or hookups, just parking, the beach, the squirrels and seagulls, and of course the Pacific Ocean.

Naomi H — Google review
Great spot to camp right on the ocean. I have driven by this place for several years and always wanted to stay we got site #77 and it backs right up to the sand and rocks. There are these great stone fire pits people have built and there's plenty of driftwood to use for kindling. The campground is very simple as you have to bring everything you need with you. Only RVs, trailers and self-contained vans are allowed. There is a train that runs close by the campground, but I usually slept through it. The highway is further up the hill, so the road noise wasn't bad. I loved falling asleep to the sound of waves. As people have noted, there are no services here like restrooms or showers. Great spot to watch the waves. It does get windy in the afternoon. There are plenty of great restaurants close by in Ventura to eat. The beach in front of the campground is Rocky, but you can walk just north or south to find some sand.

temporalily only a small section is open for daytime visits.Road is somewhat rough, but still worth a visit for easy access for surfing or picnic. Now, you won't be able to drive in anymore, further more there will be a 2 year construction to replace the bridge there.

Mission Basilica San Buenaventura 1782, located on Main Street in Ventura, California, is a historic Spanish mission with a church dating back to the 1700s. The site also features gardens and a small museum displaying local artifacts. Founded by priest Junipero Serra in 1749, the mission has faced various challenges throughout its history but still stands as a symbol of Catholic and Spanish culture.

This is a beautiful mission. The priests really care about the parishioners and people in general. The gift shop is my favorite with very friendly staff. There is a chapel which has a Michael Angelo authorized replica of the Virgen and Jesus and many amazing relics from saints such as St. Jude! Their entry fee as a museum is very low, and I support it because it is a beautiful historical site that must be preserved for our children. I love their small garden. It is very serene. The bathrooms are located behind the gift shop through the garden and other bathrooms are located on the outside behind the church. I love this place!!!

The Mission Basilica is beautifully preserved, showcasing rich history and stunning architecture. The church and its peaceful yard offer a lovely place to reflect and explore. There’s a small museum at the entrance that gives great insight into the site’s past. Plan to spend about an hour here—it’s the perfect quick cultural stop. Tickets are available at the door.

Mission San Buenaventura is a nice small Mission. Has lots of history and interesting artifacts. Well maintained and clean. The garden is nice and the church and alter are beautiful. The gift shop is nice. We paid $8 per adult at the gift shop. The self guided tours begin in the gift shop and they provide you with a map that is easy to follow. Overall it was a great experience and I do recommend.

We stumbled upon Mission Basilica San Buenaventura by chance and didn’t even realize it was right in downtown Ventura! Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to see the whole place, but we did get to step inside the church, and it was absolutely beautiful — peaceful, historic, and full of charm. We’re definitely planning to come back to tour the entire mission next time. A lovely hidden gem in the heart of Ventura!
Neen C — Google review
Incredibly beautiful and well maintained church and gardens with museum quality presentation. While they make you go through the gift shop to pay the entrance fee, the modest price ($8 for seniors) was well worth it. The highlights are the church (don’t miss the altarpiece and the Pieta and reliquary) and the immaculately maintained gardens with Queen Palms waving over the myriad flowering plants and bushes. The museum was good, but we didn’t have time to peruse it fully as we were headed out to Santa Ynez.

Serra Cross, located in Serra Cross Park within Grant Park in Ventura, California, is a historic wooden cross with a rich past. It was once used as a navigational landmark by mariners and offers panoramic views of the city of Ventura and the Pacific Ocean. The park spans over 100 acres and is closely related to the San Buenavista Venture Mission. Visitors can enjoy nearby hiking trails and stunning sunset views from this hilltop location.
Perched high above the city, the park offers breathtaking panoramic views of Ventura, the coastline, and the Channel Islands on a clear day. Sunset is pure magic up here! The park is small and simple & parking can be a little tight, especially at sunset, so be prepared to park further down and walk up the hill. But honestly, the short hike is worth every step. I’d definitely recommend bringing a light jacket since it can get breezy, even on warm days

Gastropub
Restaurant
Rumfish y Vino is a popular gastropub in Ventura with a coastal vibe and a creative menu featuring Central American dishes. The restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere, complete with an outdoor fireplace and a canopy of lemon trees. Standout dishes include conch chowder, ceviches, tacos, and Caribbean fish stew. With its beach-chic dining room and heated patio, Rumfish y Vino provides a romantic setting for couples.
I was in the area for work and decided to stop by Runfish y Vino—and oh my goodness, what a great choice! I had such a fun time trying their delicious dishes. I started with the beet and arugula salad, which was fresh and flavorful. Then I tried both the fried cauliflower tacos and grilled fish tacos. Each had interesting, delicious flavor profiles—though I personally would’ve loved just a bit more seasoning. That’s just me! The watermelon cocktail with rum was incredibly refreshing—I basically inhaled it. For dessert, I had the key lime dessert, and wow… it was an absolute work of art, both visually and taste-wise. My server was truly wonderful—kind-hearted, attentive, and full of great recommendations. His warm energy really added to the whole experience. I dined outside just before sunset, and the ambiance was beautiful. The fresh air, the soft glow of string lights around the trees—it all created such a lovely setting. I’d absolutely love to come back again. Highly recommend!

I checked out Rumfish y Vino in Ventura after a Yelp friend recommended it, and wow, it lives up to its high ratings! This spot is all about tapas, and their happy hour menu is a total win. The portions are small, but the flavors are huge. The flatbread with bacon was fabulous—crispy, savory, and just perfect. The pork belly taco was super tasty, and the steamed mussels were straight-up amazing, with great flavor. The outdoor patio was buzzing and filled up fast, clearly the go-to spot for diners. It’s got this mesmerizing European vibe that makes you feel like you’re on a little vacation. Our server was awesome, super friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed, which made the experience even better. The place was packed on a weekday, so I can only imagine the weekend crowds! Parking’s easy with a free 4-hour public lot nearby. Definitely a spot worth hitting up!

This restaurant came recommended in a google search. Yelp confirmed it was a must go. Very vibrant with airy indoor seating and lots of comfortable outdoor seating. The food was great. Started with Queso Fundido. It was okay. I had the Wagyu Burger and wife had the quinoa salad. Burger was amazing. Fries were mid , but the ranch was fire!!! Some of the best ranch I’ve ever had.

My go to place for special occasions. I love this place. Really good Happy Hour menu. Delicious cocktails. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried here, from the Fish Tacos to the Ribeye Steak. Special shout out for the Baby Gem Salad and the Conch Chowder. Oh and the Caribbean Fish Stew is freaking epic. Don’t sleep on the Fish Stew, yo! There are beautifully set tables inside and outside on a covered patio. I love the patio, but if you want to take photos of your food, you need a table in the center of the patio. The tables around the periphery are too dark for photos. In fact, it’s so dark it’s very difficult to even read the damn menu. Hey Rumfish y Vino, would you please do something about the lighting?
Mikey C — Google review
Made reservations for lunch, but it didn't seem to be needed as there are plenty of tables available. We had are dog with us, so i wanted to make sure they had outdoor seats available. The staff was courteous and attentive Food was fresh and tasty. Started with Conch chowder and a salad. Both were plenty enough to share. The halibut fish and chips were perfectly done. They have a nice selection of adult beverages as well

I do not know if it was the day, the service or the food. All seem to have had a great sync with what i experienced. The sun and crowd was very appropriate for this Friday afternoon. I had the wonderful Halibut Fish and Chips dish. Great colesaw and fries were crisp and soft with just the right amount of flavor. Thank you John for your hospitality and kindness.

This review is long overdue. Fox Fine Jewelry did an outstanding job of helping me surprise my wife with earrings during our vacation in Ventura this Spring. They were responsive, informative, and detail oriented throughout the purchase process. When we arrived to pick up the earrings they had a wonderful display setup and everyone in the store took part in the surprise. The earrings themselves are beautiful and my wife has worn them nearly everyday since making the purchase.

Their communication and support was outstanding. I really felt like I was collaborating with people who knew me and the future bride and wanted to ensure I had the perfect ring in time for the proposal. My fiance could not have been happier with the ring!

Consistently exceptional service! My fiancé and I first visited Fox to buy an engagement ring. We were greeted by Jen from day one and she helped us through several visits and changed plans. She was patient, very well informed, and lead us so smoothly through the process of creating custom rings. Not a question was left unanswered. Thank you, Jen! We returned to buy wedding bands and wedding gifts (secretly) for one another. Mathis helped us through these purchases. She was incredibly patient as we sorted through our various ideas and secret plans. Finally- Mr. Fox’s hand engraving is impeccable! The quality of work at Fox is exceptional. The gems and craftsmanship are beautiful and customer service is top notch. We will certainly be back for all of our future jewelry purchases. Thank you, Fox!

Adrianna and everyone at Fox made my jewelry dream come true. I wanted to replace my sentimental wave ring with something unique and quality. After they helped me with the design they ordered extra diamonds so I could pick the exact stones to match my vision. Than the engraving that George did is phenomenal. I can’t stop staring at it. :)

Above and beyond! Fox Fine has been so great to work with for all these years. Recently my engagement ring broke and not only did they repair it flawlessly with GREAT communication but they gave it back to me better than I sent it in. 10/10 recommend. My husband and I have trusted them for years and even though we moved to Colorado they still have taken care of us and our needs. Thank you so much!

Fox Fine Jewelry did an amazing job restoring my mom's 90 year old diamond wedding ring. We also found a beautiful wedding for my fiance and they had it custom made for him. It's gorgeous and we are very happy with it. We are very happy with the lovely service we received at Fox.
NANCY H — Google review
Fox Fine made my custom, perfect, gorgeous engagement ring. My fiancé loved working with the FF team to bring his vision to life. Their creativity and commitment to excellence can be seen in their art and customer service. We have been helped by multiple employees, each one has been kind, warm, and friendly. Mathis was our main representative during the engagement ring process and Sandy assisted when we brought my grandma’s vintage ring in to be repaired (which turned out perfect). We trust Fox Fine and will be lifelong customers.

Nature & Parks
Surfers Point at Seaside Park is a small beach destination popular among surfers and windsurfers. Situated at the beginning of the Ventura River, it is adjacent to Seaside Park and features a lagoon teeming with indigenous birds, making it a haven for birdwatching enthusiasts. The south-facing beach creates ideal surfing conditions, attracting surfers from all around. Backed by a boardwalk and palm trees, this spot offers picturesque views perfect for photography.
Surfers Point in Ventura is a revered, yet challenging, surf spot that delivers exhilarating rides for experienced surfers. Its reputation as a haven for intermediate to advanced locals is well-earned, offering powerful waves and dynamic conditions. However, this dynamism is a double-edged sword. The surf here is notoriously fickle, shifting dramatically throughout the day, demanding adaptability and local knowledge. The wave quality can be exceptional when conditions align, but consistency is a rarity. Swells vary wildly, and the point's exposure means it's susceptible to rapid changes in wind and tide. Crowds are equally unpredictable, ranging from sparse sessions to densely packed lineups. Localism is a significant factor at Surfers Point. Respect for the established hierarchy is paramount. Beginners and those unfamiliar with the etiquette are strongly advised to steer clear. The atmosphere can be intense, and a lack of awareness can lead to unpleasant encounters. This is a spot for those who possess both skill and a deep understanding of surf culture. In essence, Surfers Point offers thrilling surf for those who know how to navigate its complexities. It’s a place of fluctuating fortunes, where local knowledge and respect are as essential as surfing ability.

Surfers Point Park is that perfect Ventura blend of laid‑back and lively. There's energy without chaos, nature with amenities, and community presence with plenty of room to find your own spot. Whether you’re riding waves, enjoying a scenic walk, or simply reflecting by the sea, it's a place that feels both alive and serene. I left with sandy shoes, salty hair, and a genuine sense of calm. Great spot to catch sunset as well!!
Chris W — Google review
This beachside memorial exudes a profound sense of peace and reflection, standing as a gentle reminder of both the beauty and fragility of life. Nestled between palm trees and overlooking the vast ocean, the tribute is simple yet deeply touching. The surfboard, adorned with “Rest in Peace,” and the surrounding stones painted with heartfelt messages and mementos speak of a community’s love and remembrance for a lost friend. The tranquil setting complements the solemnity of the memorial. The rhythmic crashing of waves, the soft rustling of palm fronds, and the warmth of the sun create a harmonious backdrop. It’s not just a place to remember, but also a space to find solace and healing by the sea. It serves as a meeting point for memories and emotions—a sanctuary for all who wish to pause, reflect, and honor. Beyond the memorial, the beach itself offers a serene escape, with its golden sands, inviting walkways lined with towering palms, and the distant pier stretching into the horizon. It’s a quintessential Californian scene, blending the laid-back atmosphere with a deep sense of connection and community spirit. Visiting this place feels like stepping into a quiet, sacred space on the edge of the world—a beautiful fusion of nature, remembrance, and peace.

Beautiful spot to people watch, walk your dog, skip stones into the ocean, or build sandcastles with your kids. Parking isn’t free.

It is a surfer's paradise, with good waves and sandy beaches. With good parking, restrooms, and changing area. And best of all are the beautiful ocean view and good waves for surfing.

We loved it, the beach with large rocks and boulders. Sunsets are gorgeous 😍. Free parking after 5pm, but not recommended to stay if you have small kids. We lost/dropped something very valuable when we realized we turned around went back around 2 min had gone by and it was no where we know it was there because of its use. so I wouldn't bring anything valuable if you are going. But gorgeous recommended for sure for sunsets. Thank you for reading please check out the other locations we have visited.

Indian restaurant
The Taj Cafe is a highly regarded restaurant in Ventura that offers traditional Indian delicacies within an elegant setting. It is known for its exceptional cuisine, which embodies the authentic flavors of India. This dining establishment has garnered praise for its vegan-friendly options and impeccable service. The ambiance evokes a sense of warmth and familiarity, reminiscent of cherished childhood memories. Families can enjoy a friendly atmosphere while indulging in some of the best Indian food available in America.
The absolute best Indian restaurant I have been to ever, in the world. The service was amazing and they even offered us free appetizers and desert. We ordered 5 plates that were good amounts to serve 3 people for only $60! The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing, as it relives any lingering stress. It is located in a perfect spot and the servers do not hesitate to make your experience one to remember. I would definitely recommend eating here when visiting Ventura, CA, or fly out just to eat here!!
Kalimina — Google review
Update: came here again and had a pleasant evening. Food came out in a timely manner and was tasty. The service was friendly and one of the employees engaged me in a nice chat about where in India we are from. We received a complimentary appetizer and dessert. It was a good evening and I look forward to returning to try more food. Earlier review: Heard the food is good - but I'll never know because I waited over 53 minutes for one order of butter chicken. Other parties came, ate, and left all after I was seated, and there were only 3 other tables seated in the whole restaurant. They gave me a complimentary dessert which was nice, and the pappad and chutney to start with was tasty... but the wait and service wasn't good. If it's gonna take an hour for one order maybe let me know you're gonna take a while so I can order something else.

Amazing!! The food was absolutely delicious the best food I've had in a while. So much flavor without being overpowering. Will definitely be back!! Service was great also very friendly. I got the garlic chicken special, Taj special, garlic Naan, Masala chai, and Indian coffee. My new favorite place 😍 🤤

Amazing service! They gave 2 complimentary DELICIOUS foods prior to our meal, and after our meal they gave us a complimentary desert. Great place overall, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It’s a beautiful place with great food, nice staff. Always checked in with us if we needed anything. Also gave us coupons for next time! Dining in was definitely worth it. Thank you Taj Cafe!

This has been my number one favorite Indian restaurant in the whole of Ventura and Santa Barbara county for 15 or so years. The staff is amazing! Get the ginger lemonade. Cannot go wrong with any of the food. Bring all your friends. I always impress when I bring people here.

Very attentive service. Went above in beyond with accommodating me!! Only restaurant to provide complimentary items when all I came in for was some Lamb Naan. Great ambiance too! Definitely recommend for people visiting the area or looking for some delicious food!
Aermon H — Google review
We got the butter chicken and lamb tikka masala, both full of flavor and super tender. The naan bread had the perfect texture: soft, chewy, and just the right amount of crisp on the edges. Staff were welcoming and friendly!

The ambiance of this establishment brings you to a place of peace. The aroma opens you up to another side of the world. The staff are more than hospitable. The food has profound depth of flavor and is made authentically. I came here to celebrate my brother’s engagement. I would recommend to everyone for a true culinary experience. 10/10

Capriccio is a charming bistro located on a corner, featuring outdoor seating and an inviting interior. This establishment offers traditional Italian dishes such as lasagna and pizza. While dining at Capriccio, customers can enjoy the pleasant ambiance created by its brick-lined walls. The restaurant provides complimentary bread that is exceptionally delicious. Customers have the option to sit outside under the sun or inside in a cute setting.
What a HIDDEN GEM of an Italian spot... Why oh why have i wasted years of driving to Olive Garden? Happy to never have to do that again. Kids menu is amazingly delicious and affordable, includes gelato! Happy hour menu all day Wednesday is our go-to for mid week respite. Service and ambiance are always amazing, and the food is even better. Love love love love love this place!

I stop for lunch this Sunday, I expected to be better en food and service. Food was ok, it looks and taste reheated and not fresh. The waitress a young girl made me feel in rush, she was asking many times if we were fine, and she was walking like running at every table, I just wanted to finish my meal and leave. I won't come back here.
Fabiana P — Google review
Food was decent- ok- the Pear salad was amazing. The pizzas- Sophia & Gina not so much. Must have changed owners since I remembered it better. Chicken parm was good. Pastas- so-so. Service was on the dry side.
Naomi S — Google review
The food was good. The service was great. It was really really loud (can't-hear-my-thoughts loud) but other than that it was great.
Amber — Google review
We wanted to sit at the tables outside and we couldn’t because they were dirty and wobbly. The Mat was embarrassingly, torn and shabby. The fig salad was delicious. Our main course shrimp with noodles in saffron sauce was so filled wit garlic we could barely eat it. It was not a sauce; it was garlic broth that the few plain shrimp were swimming in Unfortunately, we won’t be back. The server never came back to check on our meal.
Jackie H — Google review
Was seated right away! Sat an watched the inly server have a 15 minute conversation with a couple at a table near the door! Yak, yak, yak. Bread was brought after a few minutes but no water for at least 10 minutes more. Then the server’s conversation ended and she ended into the kitchen area to pickup plates of food that I saw the chef set out 10 minutes earlier to other patrons! Now it’s 18 minutes since we sat down and still no server! Finally, the server’s conversation ended appeared took our order then things started to be what should have been from the start. My dish was ok, not great! Paid and left! NEVER AGAIN!

Lasagna and Pizza!!! Best ever in my life. That's the food of the gods...wow! The place is homey and cheeky at the same time. It just has a good vibe. They were on point with background music as well. Loved it. And service...not to exaggerate, but I wish I had been single...lol (to begin with). Staff was very friendly, courteous and welcoming. If I ever happen to be back in town, this is my go-to place, for sure. Good job guys!

Mexican restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Johnny's Mexican Food is a perfect spot to grab breakfast before heading to the beach, which is just a five-minute drive away. The highlight here is their delicious burritos, especially the shredded beef California burrito with its perfectly melded crispy French fries, beef, and cheese. The corn burritos are also highly recommended, especially with their addictive sauce. This family-owned restaurant offers plenty of menu choices and friendly service, making it a favorite for many visitors.
Traditional crispy tacos and taco sauce. Loved the cold lettuce on top of the hot meat between the cheese. Each bite has different textures and temperature for a truly delicious bite. Prepared to order so it can take some time. Crushed the 6 pack for $11.25 with so much of the red taco sauce
Tim W — Google review
It’s a small place but they have some good food. My friend gave me a half bean and cheese burrito and I thought it was so good. Simple but yet so good. I will need to try some other things from their menu but it seems like they have good food here.
Felix F — Google review
A pleasant, nostalgic slice of Americana. The hard shell shredded beef taco brings that old-school SoCal vibe to the plate. You get a crunchy fried shell, a generous hit cheese, and a layer of crisp iceberg lettuce. The braised beef is a little dry, not offensive but not exactly juicy either. The salsa leans heavy on the black pepper and is absolutely necessary to bring everything up to par. This isn’t a taco that’s going to haunt your dreams, but it’s better than anything you’ll find at Del Taco. If you’re in the mood for what Mexican food might have felt like in the 1950s, this will scratch the itch. It’s a solidly decent experience.
Morgan G — Google review
Found this place on tik tok and came specifically for their crispy beef tacos. I have to tell you they did not disappoint $2.75 ea. Small but packed with shredded meat lettuce and cheese. Delicious 😋 p.s. parking is limited in the street. There is no restaurant parking

Johnny’s Mexican Food - Ventura: A Chip Off the Old Block (And It’s Pure Gold) Let me start with the real MVP here: Johnny’s chips. I’ve traveled the seven seas (okay, maybe just the 101 freeway), tasted chips from here to Timbuktu (alright, fine, just around SoCal), and I can say with complete confidence that these chips are some of the best I’ve ever had. They’re so good, I’m pretty sure they could solve world peace if we just got everyone to sit around a basket and crunch together in harmony. But Johnny’s isn’t a one-trick pony riding on chip fame alone. The food here hits harder than my dad’s jokes at Thanksgiving dinner – and somehow manages to be way more satisfying. Every bite is like a warm hug from your Mexican abuela, even if your actual abuela is a sweet Polish lady named Gertrude who makes pierogies. The staff treats you like family (the good kind of family – not the kind that asks when you’re getting married every five minutes). The portions are generous enough to feed a small village, or one very determined college student during finals week. And the prices? So reasonable, you’ll check your receipt twice thinking they forgot to charge you for something. Fair warning: once you experience Johnny’s, other Mexican food will just taste like sadness wrapped in a sad tortilla. You’ve been warned. Come for the chips, stay for everything else, leave planning your next visit before you’ve even made it to your car.
NICK M — Google review
Pretty dang good burritos and tacos. Though the tacos are a bit small. Parking sucks.
John G — Google review
I've been coming here pretty much my whole life. The burritos have gotten smaller and the price has gotten larger. It's just doesn't taste as good as it used to but it's still delicious
Kitty L — Google review
We decided to try Johnny’s Fine Mexican Food in Ventura after seeing a viral TikTok hyping up their beef tacos. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the expectations. We ordered 4 beef tacos, a chile relleno plate, and a side of fries. The tacos looked promising, but the beef lacked flavor and was overly greasy. The fries had an unpleasant taste, like they were cooked in old oil. The chile relleno was also underwhelming — bland and not well-prepared. Considering the quality, the food felt overpriced. Honestly, I’m not sure how this place has over 4 stars. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but we definitely won’t be returning.

Pizza restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Ventura, Tony's Pizzaria is a charming family-owned eatery that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since 1959. This colorful roadside gem serves up delicious thin-crust pizzas and fresh salads from its cozy shack, complete with inviting picnic tables for outdoor dining. Perfectly situated near the beach, it’s a popular hangout for surfers and beachgoers looking to refuel after a day of sun-soaked adventures.
Tonys is the hot spot in town for good food, drinks and music. It’s out doors. They have fire pits and heaters. David was helpful finding us a seat. Had the pepperoni and sausage pizza and it was amazing. Went to see Shaky Feeling and friends. The crowd was friendly.
Chuck F — Google review
The best pizza place ever! Been here more times than I can list. Many moons ago, we used to come here while camping in Ventura, and chill around the fireplace while waiting for the warm Pizzas to come out. Always a good vibe and good service. It had been a couple of years that I hadn’t visited, and to my surprise, this place is more popular than ever. They expanded their parking and even built the outdoors to host bigger parties, a band and even an outdoors bar. This place is well lit, and greatly decorated, it’s such a vibe! Plenty of seating, fire pits and heaters. One of the best places to come enjoy some music and pizza bully the slice or whole. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Georgee B — Google review
Tony’s was such a vibe. We came on a Sunday night over Memorial Day weekend and happened to catch Reggae Night, which made the whole experience even better. I actually spotted the place while driving by and decided to stop on a whim. It felt like a true locals’ hangout. People of all ages were out dancing, and it was clear a lot of them knew each other. It was so much fun just sitting back, soaking in the atmosphere, and getting swept up in the music. Honestly, it ended up being one of the highlights of my weekend. You order food and drinks at the counter, and luckily there wasn’t much of a line when we arrived. It was definitely busy, though, so the wait for our pizza was about 45 minutes. We didn’t mind at all because the live music and people-watching made the time fly. We ordered the Tony’s Special, which was super generous in size and toppings. The pizza was delicious. One of the best parts was this older gentleman walking around checking in on everyone and clearing tables. He was incredibly kind. When we got up to dance, he passed by later and said, “I wondered where you went,” which made us smile. He remembered us and could tell we were new, which made the experience feel even more personal. I really appreciate places that take the time to notice and welcome newcomers. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area.

Great Saturday night at this pizza place! You can order by slices. They have live music, the ambiance was great, happy people dancing and singing, kids and dogs were having fun as well.

A Ventura institution. How to explain the joy of finding this place on a rainy February night after an evening out with friends, have twisted, all joy-filled and laughing and hungry. Nothing satisfied in that moment quite like a piece of pizza doused in neon and California kitsch. Absolutely magic.
Josiah R — Google review
I was hired to do face and bodypaint designs. Super friendly and accompanying staff! Who had a very talented steel drummer/singer - Brad Winchell - play classic reggae tunes. The guests were also very pleasant, generous and appreciative of my art! Would work here again in a heartbeat! Gave the food 3 stars only because I am a plant-based eater and they serve dairy and meat full pizzas.
