I absolutely LOVE the botanical gardens, it is such a gorgeous walk with increasingly beautiful views of the ocean as you ascend the trail. The plants are magnificent, with different regions showcasing Chilean, Californian, Mediterranean, and South African plant varieties. Fridays are free entry and Wednesday and Friday dogs are allowed. I visit every time I have friends visiting and it’s wonderful to see how the plants look in all the different seasons! Could not recommend more.

Great place for the Ventura ocean view. Not interested in the plants there to be hornest, as some were bone dry. Also great to get your steps in and hick up a hill.

Gardens were beautiful. My only complaint was that we got locked out and had to walk all the way around. I think it would be common courtesy to let us know when we bought tickets at 3:30, they would have warned us that we would be locked out if not back by 5:00.

Started the morning at Ventura Botanical Gardens, which has 160+ plant species and spectacular views of the California coastline. It has nearly 3.5 miles of walkways and over 100,000 plants from Five Mediterranean climates throughout the world."

Even though this was a bit off-season and a lot of the flowers had turned, it was a beautiful walk. The people were so nice, a great way to get some exercise.

Friendly staff at the entrance. Clean and clear path with a staircase to cut through the path if desired. Great views and peaceful.

We walked the trial, and it was magnificent! I recommend bringing snacks or having a picnic. Many areas to rest and enjoy the beauty of nature. Staff is welcoming and dedicated.

This is a beautiful mission. The priests really care about the parishioners and people in general. The gift shop is my favorite with very friendly staff. There is a chapel which has a Michael Angelo authorized replica of the Virgen and Jesus and many amazing relics from saints such as St. Jude! Their entry fee as a museum is very low, and I support it because it is a beautiful historical site that must be preserved for our children. I love their small garden. It is very serene. The bathrooms are located behind the gift shop through the garden and other bathrooms are located on the outside behind the church. I love this place!!!

The Mission Basilica is beautifully preserved, showcasing rich history and stunning architecture. The church and its peaceful yard offer a lovely place to reflect and explore. There’s a small museum at the entrance that gives great insight into the site’s past. Plan to spend about an hour here—it’s the perfect quick cultural stop. Tickets are available at the door.

Mission San Buenaventura is a nice small Mission. Has lots of history and interesting artifacts. Well maintained and clean. The garden is nice and the church and alter are beautiful. The gift shop is nice. We paid $8 per adult at the gift shop. The self guided tours begin in the gift shop and they provide you with a map that is easy to follow. Overall it was a great experience and I do recommend.

We stumbled upon Mission Basilica San Buenaventura by chance and didn’t even realize it was right in downtown Ventura! Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to see the whole place, but we did get to step inside the church, and it was absolutely beautiful — peaceful, historic, and full of charm. We’re definitely planning to come back to tour the entire mission next time. A lovely hidden gem in the heart of Ventura!

Incredibly beautiful and well maintained church and gardens with museum quality presentation. While they make you go through the gift shop to pay the entrance fee, the modest price ($8 for seniors) was well worth it. The highlights are the church (don’t miss the altarpiece and the Pieta and reliquary) and the immaculately maintained gardens with Queen Palms waving over the myriad flowering plants and bushes. The museum was good, but we didn’t have time to peruse it fully as we were headed out to Santa Ynez.

Beautiful courtyard, an unforgettable original rivers-of-life main entrance double doors, and a real nice stained glass rendition of Calvary (the site of Jesus’ crucifixion).

This is a fantastic spot to relax with family or friends. We especially enjoyed Coastal Cone Ice Cream, with their unique Taiyaki fish-shaped waffle cones filled with ice cream—it was a highlight! Margarita Villa Mexican restaurant was decent, though not particularly memorable. There’s plenty of parking, and the beach is just a short walk away. Unfortunately, the boat rental was closed on Sunday, so we missed the chance to ride the swan boats, which would have been a great family activity.

I think we hit every shop in this place looking for trinkets to take home to my family I found a few and of course after finding the little things I was wanting the very last shop would have been the best to purchase at. Don't remember the name of the shop but they had some great deals. Bottom line the shops in the harbor that are left there or nice to shop through and the people were great.

Always a pleasure to be here! Not so crowded, can always find a parking spot even on the weekend, love to walk around, have some seafood or ice cream, fun doing the boating, life is better with the cooler weather here.

We love to take the boats out. We usually pay to rent them for an hour or so. It's a fun activity. My kids love it!!

There is a lot to see just walking around. Little shops to go into. Food. Drink. You GOT to rent a paddle boat or kayak for at least an hour. Its safe and interesting and beautiful. I saw seals, fish, and birds close enough for a thrill but far enough to be safe. Some of the paddle boats are in the shape of big swans! There are also electric boats with sun shade that carry a small group.

The scenery is beautiful. The beach wasn't crowded at all,but it was a little chilly that day.

Hit the new BOBQ by The SEA shop for some Thai Ice Tea -- met the owners, couple of very friendly, helpful guys. Shop is in the Soft Opening phase, but is already comfortable, clean and inviting. They have plenty of seating, inside and out on the patio. Their selection of card games gives it a homey feel. Their Thai Ice Tea was really good -- Daughter and I have been trying different Boba spots lately and we both agree: Boba by the Sea is the BEST we've had yet! Wish we lived closer?! If you're in the Ventura Harbor area and need some good Milk/Boba Tea made by a couple down to Eaetg guys that KNOW what they're doing? STOP IN AND GIVE EM A SHOT!

Interesting museum. Loved the support of local culture and artists. Definitely a fun place to take your kids.

We enjoyed our time here, Dracula doll exhibit was impressive and so entertaining, I had fun reading story and walking through with my family. Kids enjoyed outdoor space and all the hands on activities. Enjoyed learning some of Ventura’s history through photography. Kids free, military 50% discount. Would recommend and will come back in the future :)

The staff were great here and I would have most likely rated the museum as a 4 but the day I visited, the main gallery was closed for setup of a new exhibition. At least I was able to visit their native American and Catholic doll exhibitions. Have to admit the dolls were very interesting but some were a little scary.

Infull disclosure, I am a docent there. But this is a hidden jewel in Ventura. George Stuart's figures alone make this a go to. Right now there are also two exhibits, one featuring photographs of Ventura county and another that features landscapes of Ventura, encouraging people to linger with a circular bench in the space.

Couldn't really explore because they were having some kind of poem reading so kids had to be extremely quiet which is impossible. Just hung out at the garden for a bit. But it's free so cant complain. Garden has very nice murals.

Great place to spend the afternoon with the family. There is a childrens garden as well. Every first Sunday of the month is free admission, otherwise the cost is 5, which is fair considering they have staff to support.

It is a surfer's paradise, with good waves and sandy beaches. With good parking, restrooms, and changing area. And best of all are the beautiful ocean view and good waves for surfing.

We loved it, the beach with large rocks and boulders. Sunsets are gorgeous 😍. Free parking after 5pm, but not recommended to stay if you have small kids. We lost/dropped something very valuable when we realized we turned around went back around 2 min had gone by and it was no where we know it was there because of its use. so I wouldn't bring anything valuable if you are going. Nice beach, but no safeguard and lots of oysters shells peels.

Outdoor showers for after a day at the beach. You do have to pay for parking, but having lifeguards patrolling the beach make it a like less stressful. Ooh there is a awesome pathway to walk and just enjoy the coastal weather 😀

It's a perfect spot to soak up the sun while listening to the crashing waves on the shore. Super clean! Lifeguard s on duty makes one feel safe! Volleyball courts! I mean this is the spot!

Excellent park to start your run/jog or walk down the shoreline. Huge parking lot and you can pay at the booth $10 for the whole day, or download the Yodel App and pay by the hour. There is a large grassy area with plenty of picnic tables as well as restrooms. This park also offers RV parking. Easy access to the beach and the bike trail that goes all the to the Ventura Creek trail.

Nice beach park. There are restrooms, a foot washing station and outdoor showers. Nice paved walking paths and plenty of beach to explore. They also have a lot of awesome rocks! We had a nice day exploring the area a few weeks ago.

It's so beautiful. We parked at the park & walked the trail, sometimes walking on the beach. The trail takes you under & past the ventura pier. The kids loved it. We ended up walking over 2 miles before we realized it h had to walk back. Lots of others out bjiking, hiking, walking & etc too. Very nice. Paved walkway & various pit stops to enjoy!

Totally worth a stop here - gives a view of the entire Ventura area. Also a peaceful vibe here. There are a few benches around and the grass was perfect for a couple that brought their own chairs and another that was sitting on a picnic blanket.

Serra Cross Park is a must-visit in Ventura! The views of the city, ocean, and Channel Islands are stunning — perfect for photos or a peaceful stroll. The park is clean, quiet, and easy to access with parking at the top. Great spot for a quick stop or to catch a sunset!

This is an iconic, historical California location to get the best view of Pierpont Bay in the entire Ventura County.

A really wonderful place to vibe out and watch the sunset. Also great to post up and work out of your van for the day.

Absolutely beautiful scenery worth the drive and curiosity. My family and I we're in Ventura and we happened to Google tourist spots and this came up. It did not disappoint us in a tourist spot.

This park has the most impeccable scenic view. And to top it off the wooden cross is beautiful. To see the view of the city and the beach to relax and take in a breath of fresh air. Getting here is easy lots of loops driving up a hill.

Easily accessed from Hwy 101 and, course, the PCH. Laid back spot, perfect for an impromptu stop or an all-day family outing. Whether you're a single person, a couple, a group of friends, or a whole family..... You won't be disappointed by the natural wonders of this large beach. I was there several days in a row (day use only) and never felt crowded. No services or hookups, just parking, the beach, the squirrels and seagulls, and of course the Pacific Ocean.

Nice place to park by the ocean and walk on the beach. There is a bike trail next to it also.

This place is an amazing place to camp when they open these camping spots under the bridge in about a year after restoration of the area according to public works

Great spot to camp right on the ocean. I have driven by this place for several years and always wanted to stay we got site #77 and it backs right up to the sand and rocks. There are these great stone fire pits people have built and there's plenty of driftwood to use for kindling. The campground is very simple as you have to bring everything you need with you. Only RVs, trailers and self-contained vans are allowed. There is a train that runs close by the campground, but I usually slept through it. The highway is further up the hill, so the road noise wasn't bad. I loved falling asleep to the sound of waves. As people have noted, there are no services here like restrooms or showers. Great spot to watch the waves. It does get windy in the afternoon. There are plenty of great restaurants close by in Ventura to eat. The beach in front of the campground is Rocky, but you can walk just north or south to find some sand.

temporalily only a small section is open for daytime visits.Road is somewhat rough,but still worth a visit for easy access for surfing or picnic. Now, you won't be able to drive in anymore, further more there will be a 2 year construction to replace the bridge there.

Our favorite beach ! Sometimes at the weekends not so easy to find parking spots, but most of the time you’ll find it :) has two toilets.

It's a whole vibe. I recommend yoga with friends. Also, the beach is great, the access to the harbor (and ocean) is also great, and the parking is fantastic. What a gem.

I love Marina Park, specifically on a hot day. Jumping into the water to cool off is wonderful. This park does have a lot of traction since its at the beach like most beaches in the summer. But with that said the city keeps it very clean. If been coming here for decades and I enjoy it every single time.

Love this park. Plenty of grass to chill on with the kiddos, a nice park for the kids, a massive ship that has zip line and right on the beach. The waves can be a bit rough but still a nice spot.

Marina Park is a beautiful and relaxing place to spend time with family and friends. The park is clean, well-maintained, and has plenty of open space to enjoy fresh air and nature. It’s right by the water, which makes the atmosphere peaceful and refreshing. The playground is perfect for children, with safe and fun equipment to keep them entertained. Restrooms are available and well-kept, which is very convenient for visitors. The park is also dog-friendly, so it’s a great place to bring pets for a walk or playtime.

A clean and fun park with many amenities. There is a decent sized free parking lot as well as some street parking. The large grass area is great for picnics and family gatherings, flying kites, or playing with friends. There is a large play pirate ship at the sand for the kiddos. We saw many people bring their dogs here. There are also dog bag stations throughout the park. A meandering sidewalk leads you to the beach, dunes, or out along the peninsula. There are areas for fishing harbor side and ocean side. There are also plenty of benches throughout the park and along the sidewalk path. Great for relaxing and watching the sunset. The city does a great job of keeping up the park.

Went in on a Saturday for lunch with 3 people. Was able to be seated at a high top table straight away. Great vibe, friendly and quick service. We ordered dirty martinis and when we asked for more olive brine they happily obliged. We ordered fresh and broiled oysters to share as well as mussels abs lobster roll. All were fantastic! Even the bread with whipped butter was delightful! Loved this spot.

I recently discovered Lure Fish House thanks to its fantastic online reviews. I was so impressed that I ended up going for happy hour two days in a row! I absolutely loved their seafood tower, oyster shooters, and biscuits. The sundae was also a delicious treat to end the meal. The pepper dish was a bit too spicy for my taste, but overall, the food was great and the service was excellent. I will definitely be back for more!

We had a great dinner with excellent service. We had the cheddar biscuits which were delicious. We also had the Vancouver oysters and the mussels with chorizo which was delicious. The entrees had mix reviews. My fish and chips were great though they needed some salt. My lady had the lobster ravioli which was drowned in cheese. Personally I don't mind all that cheese but it seemed overpowering to the flavor of the ravioli. But all in all a very lovely end to our day trip to Ventura and for 3 appetizers, 2 entrees And 2 non alcoholic drinks for $110, a great bargain !

First time coming here after hearing how great it was, figured we needed to try it! It was great! We sat outside and the day was beautiful with the nearby ocean breeze it was perfect! The inside was very trendy and modern with everything very first class. Our waiter Jairo was very attentive and gave us great recommendations on our food and drinks! The food was very tasty and well prepared! Strongly recommend when you're in the area!

My wife and I recently dined at Lure Fish House in Ventura for dinner during a quick visit, drawn in by its stellar Yelp reviews. Even on a Tuesday night, the place was buzzing, which is always a good sign. The vibe is cool with nice decor—think coastal chic without being over-the-top. The service was a highlight; our server, Rachel, was an absolute star, super friendly, and on top of everything. We kicked things off with steamed clams and the fish chowder Veracruz as appetizers. The clams were plump and meaty, a solid start. The chowder packed a lot of flavor, though I was a bit bummed it was light on actual fish. The house bread was a nice surprise—crispy crust, soft inside, perfect for mopping up the clam broth. For mains, I went with their famous dab fish, which didn’t disappoint. The skin was crispy, the meat flaky and tender, and it came with two sides, which was a nice touch. My wife got the lobster ravioli, and while it was tasty, the lobster filling was a bit sparse for her liking. Dessert was the Basque cheesecake with strawberry. It was decent but denser than the classic burnt Basque style I was hoping for, and I was kinda expecting fresh strawberries instead of the canned strawberries with sauce. Parking was an easy with a free public lot nearby, which is always a win. To sum it up, Lure Fish House is a good choice for seafood lovers. Great atmosphere, awesome service, and mostly hits the mark on the food. I’d come back again if I’m back in Ventura!l

Absolutely recommended! We really enjoyed everything! The food was wonderful, and the service was excellent. We were seated very quickly, served right away, and the dishes were prepared and presented in no time. Everything was delicious—from the appetizers to the hot dishes and soups. The salad, oysters, calamari, fish, and all the other dishes we tried were fresh and flavorful. Highly recommended!

Lure Fish House in Ventura is one of the best seafood spots in the area. The food is incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and always cooked perfectly. The oysters, clam chowder, and fresh fish plates are amazing, and the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and great for both date nights and family dinners. Classic community theatre venue where every seat offers a great view. Wide range of plays and shows. A really special venue for Ventura that is worthy of your support!

Always a great experience at this venue. Just saw the Million Dollar Quartet and it was super fun and memorable. Excellent performances.

Their auditorium is a very small one but the staff turns that to their advantage making best use of the space to stage a show with an intimate atmosphere. I felt like I was right up on stage with the actors. I could tell that the entire cast and crew had such a passion for their show. It's really nice to see a live performance and feel the energy between the actors and the audience. You owe it to yourself to find the time to attend a live show! Also worth pointing out that the theater is just a few blocks from downtown puting it in easy walking distance of lots of great restaurants and bars where you can enjoy the nightlife after the show.

Have enjoyed each performance I have seen at this historic little theater. A true community treasure!

This place was rather small but a very nice intimate venue for music performances!

Because each production is an individual and would be according to the taste of the individual watching it I will talk about the facility. A theater is very nice and cozy, the seating is very comfortable, the sound quality is quite good. There are not really any seats that are particularly far away from the stage. The Productions are always good and the cast is always very professional. I've never seen a show there that I did not enjoy. I'm sure you will feel the same. Enjoy

Awesome venue, local and great performances!!

They go a long way with their history and reputation. Ventura is a hotbed of fish tacos. And Spencer Makenzie’s has gained notoriety for their fish tacos. Is it the best in Ventura? Some would say yes. Others would say they have competition. Nonetheless the fish tacos are good. Really good. And if you’re on the fish tacos trail it’s worthy of a stop. Was quite impressed with their fish taco. Was not so impressed with the Tuna version of the fish taco. Not sure why clam chowder is on the menu, but it was met with delight. Street tacos were solid. Veggie tacos as well. Great staff with a good attitude and upbeat energy.

Let's go over a Few things. SEATING: There's seating inside, outside and Bar side. The outside Order window is basically if you order outside. Inside is forest cone first serve seating and they'll bring you a menu (so don't wait to be seated etc just walk in and seat yourself). The car is basically the same. STAFF: Staff here seems to have fun and iS super friendly and on top of making sure your drinks are filled and bringing you food if you order more. You can see them talking and having fun while working which in turn makes them happy to be here and has them treating you better. FOOD: The World Famous Fish Tacos is what I had. 1 regular and 1 Brooklyn style. Both where good it honestly just counts but go with Brooklyn style for a bit more kick. Each taco is on a 7 inch flour tortilla. So they're not small. I'll definitely stop in again when in the area.

Been coming here for years, didn’t realize I haven’t reviewed them yet. Best fish tacos! Love to grab them and walk the bridge over the freeway and enjoy lunch on the pier. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Service is always fast and friendly.

I like the fish and chips mostly the fish part, their sweet chili sauce is good, that’s my positive note. Now, I said no cilantro 3 times, they gave me a cilantro burrito, not much else, no salsa in it, no onions, flavor less, just a heap of cilantro, I had to do surgery for 10 minutes to remove them. I’m not happy, I made sure the girl taking my order understood me, I was polite and clear, but I guess someone didn’t or did it on purpose.

If it wasn't called the best fish taco, this would be a 4 star because my expectations were very high and I was highly disappointed in the end. Ordered one fried fish, one grilled fish taco and one tuna. The presentation is very subpar with very little color that pops and had even a ginormous chunk of slaw that I had to remove. As far as flavor the grilled one was a bit fishy but the biggest problem is all the sauce is at the bottom instead of being spread out. And raw bell peppers don't really add any flavor. Wish those were grilled at least and seem like an after thought. The tuna was decent with the sauce being the star. Didn't know what Brooklyn style was but it was a spicy sweet chili sauce. The one pro is that the tacos are on the bigger side but couple of the tortillas were over crisped for my liking

Cool local spot for fish tacos and whatnot. Solid food, local beer, nice peeps, chill Vta vibes. The play is to park at Transmission Brewery on Front St., have a beer on tap, then walk 3 blocks to Spencer Makenzie's. Trust me on this. You're welcome. 😎

I checked out Rumfish y Vino in Ventura after a Yelp friend recommended it, and wow, it lives up to its high ratings! This spot is all about tapas, and their happy hour menu is a total win. The portions are small, but the flavors are huge. The flatbread with bacon was fabulous—crispy, savory, and just perfect. The pork belly taco was super tasty, and the steamed mussels were straight-up amazing, with great flavor. The outdoor patio was buzzing and filled up fast, clearly the go-to spot for diners. It’s got this mesmerizing European vibe that makes you feel like you’re on a little vacation. Our server was awesome, super friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed, which made the experience even better. The place was packed on a weekday, so I can only imagine the weekend crowds! Parking’s easy with a free 4-hour public lot nearby. Definitely a spot worth hitting up!

This restaurant came recommended in a google search. Yelp confirmed it was a must go. Very vibrant with airy indoor seating and lots of comfortable outdoor seating. The food was great. Started with Queso Fundido. It was okay. I had the Wagyu Burger and wife had the quinoa salad. Burger was amazing. Fries were mid , but the ranch was fire!!! Some of the best ranch I’ve ever had.

My go to place for special occasions. I love this place. Really good Happy Hour menu. Delicious cocktails. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried here, from the Fish Tacos to the Ribeye Steak. Special shout out for the Baby Gem Salad and the Conch Chowder. Oh and the Caribbean Fish Stew is freaking epic. Don’t sleep on the Fish Stew, yo! There are beautifully set tables inside and outside on a covered patio. I love the patio, but if you want to take photos of your food, you need a table in the center of the patio. The tables around the periphery are too dark for photos. In fact, it’s so dark it’s very difficult to even read the damn menu. Hey Rumfish y Vino, would you please do something about the lighting?

Made reservations for lunch, but it didn't seem to be needed as there are plenty of tables available. We had are dog with us, so i wanted to make sure they had outdoor seats available. The staff was courteous and attentive Food was fresh and tasty. Started with Conch chowder and a salad. Both were plenty enough to share. The halibut fish and chips were perfectly done. They have a nice selection of adult beverages as well

I do not know if it was the day, the service or the food. All seem to have had a great sync with what i experienced. The sun and crowd was very appropriate for this Friday afternoon. I had the wonderful Halibut Fish and Chips dish. Great colesaw and fries were crisp and soft with just the right amount of flavor. Thank you John for your hospitality and kindness.

This place is suitable for all: couple, business meetings, family, family with kids... They have both inside and outside seatings. The food is ok but the vibe and service is great. The waiter is very friendly and attentive. The only parking option is outside on the meters. This is a handicap friendly facility.

This place was amazing! All the items in the photos were experiences all their own, and the atmosphere was a nice break from the laid back Ventura vibes, and very memorable. The service was very fast and friendly, and we will be telling everyone about this dinner for years to come!

Servers were extremely attentive despite being overwhelmingly busy. Great live music. Pours were inconsistent and often kind of small. Cider and wine flights were both decent.

As a wildlife photography studio devoted to documenting California’s coast, we were impressed by the crew’s professionalism, depth of knowledge, and genuine respect for the environment. From the moment we arrived at the harbor, everything ran smoothly. Boarding was easy, the staff was welcoming, and shared fascinating insights about the islands and local wildlife throughout the day. Highlights included a breathtaking visit to Painted Cave, spotting hundreds of dolphins, and watching harbor seals bask on sunlit rocks. The views from the boat were stunning, and there was ample time to soak in the scenery both from the water and on the island itself. For anyone planning a Channel Islands trip, we recommend packing light, dressing in layers, and always keeping your camera close. We’ve included a selection of our favorite images from the journey. This was such a treat! The plan was to get a ferry boat ride to Santa Cruz, Island and hike for the day and take the ferry back to Ventura Harbor. We had some pretty hefty swells, but I sat at the back of the boat Which I highly recommend if you get seasick. I also recommend check the weather, the wind gust so that you can dress appropriately for the boat ride. The sea life was very active on our way out to the island of Santa Cruz. We saw lots of dolphins, but on our return ferry trip, we saw even more dolphins that came up to the boat and swam along side of the boat as well as seeing groups of sea lions, swimming in formation as well as humpback whales. I was so impressed with the boat, allowing us to slow down and watch the whales as they came closer to the boat and swam under the boat. It was such a great experience. I would highly recommend it. I also liked how they took very good precaution at all times and were very courteous to those who are feeling seasick, making sure that they were seated in a place that would help them. Also, on some of the bigger swells, the boat would slow down to help ease with the impact of the wave against the boat so I appreciated that very much as well. The crew was always very professional and helpful. The deck hands were very kind to answer any questions I had and they were very friendly. I will definitely be visiting the channel Islands through Island Packers, again! ❤️

The trip out to the island was wonderful. But we had to stop to pick up day trip visitors and there were far too many people on the boat during the trip back to shore. It was not really pleasant waiting for an hour to get that many people on board and then have my seat stolen by some random rude woman with an entitlement issue.

This ferry is part of the fun when visiting Channel Islands National Park. The captain will seek out wildlife and point it out to the passengers, and of course the ride itself is full of beautiful views over the ocean. They will also take all of your gear and even a kayak to the island for your trip. Just make sure to book tickets before the popular times sell out.

"Island Packers" provides various trips from Oxnard and Ventura to the Channel Islands National Park, which is situated in the Pacific Ocean between 12 and 70 miles off the California Coast. There are different options for visitors who want to explore the islands or simply take a boat ride around the islands. There is so much incredible wildlife to see in the ocean near the islands and on the islands as well. Whales (seasonal), dolphins, sea lions, various seabirds, and so much more. The reservations are available either online or over the phone. There is plentiful paid parking ($10.35 per day) by the headquarters of Island Packers in Ventura. One has to pay via an app with a credit or debit card. They have a gift shop and restrooms there. Their personnel is very friendly and professional.

Beautiful and smooth ride to Santa Cruz Island thanks to Island Packers crew. Their instructions were easy to follow and made the whole process simple. Plenty of drinks and snacks for purchase. Be ready to see some wildlife on the way!

Good wildlife cruise. We saw dolphins and one whale. Staff were fabulous. The water was choppy so we got lots of water spray on the starboard side. I wish they had not closed the plastic windows to keep the water out as then the visibility was reduced to see nature. Next time we'll sit on the port side. The boat gallery has a huge selection of snack food and beverages they sell. Also next time we'll choose a "non-landing" boat trip as Anacapa Island has so many flies at the dock because of much cormorant bird poop. We were fighting the 100 flies that got on the boat and swatting (wish we had fly swatters) all the way back to Ventura. On the boat they need giant fans on they turn on while docking there, to keep the flies away. Or if the national park will allow, to power wash the poop from rocks as that's what's attracting and growing the flies. All in all it was a good trip but I'd do a non-landing sailing only. Island Packers has a good team of people, from the phone operators answering questions to the team on the boat taking us out. Our friends said the trip was more than they expected and were quite pleased.

Best place to hike and chill that's not too far from the city. So many different trails, from easy to hard, so make sure you have the proper footwear, or have walking sticks. One section is very slippery. But, being in nature is so worth it!

This is a wonderful place for a medium hike. I like to come here, look at the scenery and have fresh air. I like the nature that our God has bless us with. See my pictures and judge for yourself. Like always my brothers and sisters enjoy what God has given us.

For a few months each year this is one of the most beautiful parks in California, and an absolute gem of trails of varying difficulty and perfect for hiking and trail running. There is plenty of parking, facilities of all kinds including very clean bathrooms, and fields and picnic areas so it's great to take the family for an afternoon.

Love arroyo. Been hiking and picnic’ing here for years. Dog days are fun. And now there is an area for kids in the back. Enjoy the hikes keep it clean please.

Plenty of open space for the dogs to run around in as well as open trails to walk around , trails are easy to moderate with good views of surrounding areas. There is a small fee to get in like around $3 but there is also restrooms and a playground for younger kids

My dogs absolutely love Arroyo Verde Park. It’s a beautiful, spacious green park surrounded by scenic hills and filled with friendly dogs and owners. There’s plenty of room to run, explore, and play—and every visit brings new dog (and human) friends. It’s clean, welcoming, and one of our favorite spots to enjoy nature together. Highly recommend for anyone with active pups who love to socialize!

It’s a wonderful hike . It’s kids friendly and good for all ages. You can choose according to your comfort how steep you want to go. Beautiful view from the top. It has park for all age group kids and picnic ground with benches and bbq pits.. Highly recommend.

At Harbor Cove, Surfer's Knoll, and Kiddie Beach, the 3 beaches opposite the Ventura Harbor, I seldom see scary homeless people, which is a good thing. There are lots of restaurants and shops at the harbor. It's a nice place for family, date night or a good place to walk. Harbor Mart, the opposite side of the Harbor, at Portside, has fantastic hamburgers. (Check their hours of operation.)

Beautiful place to walk around. Boat rentals are available. Some people are paddle boarding. Parking is not difficult. Pets are welcome here.

A really great place to spend the afternoon or go on a dinner date! This place it’s fun for adults and kids. They have winetasting lots of restaurants and ice cream and chocolate shops. During the summer they regularly have music performances comedy shows or a DJ. This is a great place to experience Ventura.

A nice chill and laidback harbor view! The Ventura Harbor Village also offers a lot of nice restaurants and bars to dine in. Water sports activities and rent paddle boats add to its attraction list.

Great food, great service. The water with a lemon slice was a nice touch. Ask for Mitch he'll really take care of you. Didn't have the stomach for the pancake roll. Nice music. We'll have to come back. But, the bathroom floors need cleaning.

Highly recommend coming here! Local or just passing, by like we were. The food was great! Nothing left us unsatisfied. They even took the time to guide us through the menu and gave us info regarding menu options. A great restaurant all around! The customer service was exceptional—not only for my family, but for everyone dining there. You can really tell they care about every guest’s experience. The walls were entertaining as well 😆. Some good laughs happened, Pete’s Did not disappoint.

When we lived in Ventura, we went to Pete's just about every weekend. And for good reason - Pete's is just about the perfect breakfast diner. The menu is large, from baked goods and pancakes to eggs and bacon, along with Mexican food, everything is homemade and delicious. The coffee is great too. The staff are all so friendly, the interior is cozy, it's just so happy at Pete's. It's awesome. Just be prepared to wait a little bit almost any time you go, because this is where locals eat. Because it's awesome. Pro tip: try the habanero salsa!

This was interesting for us . This place had people waiting to get a seat and lots good reviews about the food The staff was very friendly and they are very dog friendly. Which was awesome. Our waitress was very nice. So it was weird when our food was so underwhelming. When I took a bite of my eggs it had egg shells in it. And zero seasoning. I didn't care for the style of breakfast sausage that they use. The French toast was just ok. My husband had the huevos rancheros. The eggs were good but the canned beans over the breakfast potatoes were not tasty at all. The breakfast potatoes would have been so much tastier without the beans. The little salsa it came with tasted like raw tomatoes. Lastly the coffee wasn't fresh. It didn't taste good.As we looked around it seemed as though maybe we had just ordered the wrong food. Maybe the other options are much better. For us it was just meh. We spent over $50 for 2 egg breakfast meals and coffee. All that being said, because everyone was so nice and it had a lovely atmosphere. I would try it again

My Spanish omelet was excellent. I added avocado and it was worth it. The service was friendly and my coffee never reached less than half a cup (and I drink a lot of coffee) 😆 This is a great stop if you're in the area.

Pete's is a gem. I highly recommend the Chile Verde Burrito, it was huge and delicious. The atmosphere was also delightful. Service was on point and everything one could ask for.

We had an amazing day here! Volunteers helped us sight Olivia Owl, explained history of the the Olivas family to us as we toured and had tents with hands on crafts focused on the owl festival. It was an amazing free event! Thank you for all everyone did and does for our community!

Showed up on Sunday at 3:00 and they were closed on the one day that there opened. There web sight say’s opened until 4:00 pm. They need to update there hours so people don’t waste there time driving there.

Such a great historic landmark. The tour is a wonderful experience and worth the time and minimal cost. Recommend to anyone who loves CA history.

Came here for their fall festival. Lots of traditional dancers, food truck for lunch, exhibits for the kids, and access to the historic house.

I got the $3 tour. The docent gave me all the history of the origin of this family and adobe. He took me to each room and discussed their objects and usage. The courtyard contains the cooking and tallow making area. There is a kitchen garden and flower garden but they do not seem to be kept up. The docents are very friendly and want to share their knowledge of this area.

Of you're a local, you have a story (or two) about coming to the cross. The views are amazing and if you live on the Avenue there's nothing better than saying "There's our house!"

Grant Park is undoubtedly a gem of Ventura. This is a great location for jogging or enjoying a leisurely walk. The hiking trails range from flat to intermediate difficulty. The cross at the summit of the hill is particularly lovely. It gives you a fantastic view of Ventura, with the ocean and pier on one side and the mountains on the other.

Amazing views of Ventura! A lot of people come to see the sunset so parking at that time can be quite challenging. But definitely worth going!

Such a beautiful view. Every time my new workers check in I tell them to go there and have a picnic. Absolutely astonishing how far you can see and all the awesome views you can experience looking in any direction. Mountains on one side, ocean and pier on the other, city as far as the eyes can see. If you don't go at least once during your time in the are, you're missing out.

Trail Series, Part 12 What is known as the “Hike to the Cross” is located within Grant Park in Ventura, California. It offers 360 degree views that provide you with an opportunity to visually drink up and absorb everything from the hills around Ventura to the stunning Pacific Ocean. The “hike” itself requires very little physical effort, but meanders nicely amongst the expanding trails within the adjoining Ventura Botanical Gardens. Grant Park offers sufficient parking (although you can expect some company for each glorious sunset). Each visitor here seems to soak up the experience in an individualized manner, but no matter how you choose to enjoy this experience, we’d recommend that you take a moment to stand, sit, or kneel at the foot of the cross…and reflect. We always enjoy visiting the National Parks. This one did not disappoint. From watching the very informative short video to the helpful staff. We also took the boat trip out to the Channel Islands. On the way, we got to see Dolphins and Whales. The islands and their history were just amazing.

Had booked a roundtrip with Island Packers for a Friday in September. Got there around 8am because I needed to check-in 45 minutes in advance for the 9am ferry to Scorpion Cove. The visitor center opened at 8:30am, so took a quick walk over to buy some souvenirs and postcards. Liked the setup inside, and the items were easy to find. Checkout with the staff was quick, and I was able to get back to my car, drop off the items, and walk over to Island Packers before they started boarding.

This is a wonderful National Park Headquarters for the Channel Islands NP. There is a movie about the islands, narrated by Kevin Cosnter, a botanical garden with plants and trees, a diorama with animals, and an aquarium with fish, all from the Channel Islands. Lots of books and gifts to buy for adults and children available. The docents are knowledgeable and very helpful. They can help plan a trip to the Channel Islands which is s must!

A neat visitor center for those visiting CINP. Get your Natl Park passport booklets stamped here as well as t-shirts, caps, trinkets and books! Their book selection on the marine ecology & environment of CINP outstanding btw! FYI - just remember that for those taking the ferry boat road from the harbor rides nearby, the boats typically leave shortly after the visitor center opens, and if you catch the last ferry back, the visitor center will already be closed or closing. CINP is a wonderful place, but remember that MORE THAN HALF of CINP is the Federally Protected marine sanctuary underneath the surface! Imagine seeing the largest pod of dolphins just minutes from CINP - we did! The boat captain said it had to be 5000+ dolphins! And a pod of Orca whales teaching their young how to hunt seals, with an actual seal carcass! ONLY IN THE MARINE SANCTUARY OF CINP! MAKE SURE THE GOVT KEEPS THIS PROTECTED!

As far as visitor centers go its pretty neat! The rangers at the desk were kind and helpful. The center itself was pretty interesting and informative. Displays outside include a small nature walk with pamphlets about the indigenous plants and topographical maps of each of the islands and information about each one of them. Inside the center is a small aquarium with local wildlife, some displays of other locals marine life and facts about the local indigenous peoples, the Chumash. If you have the energy there is a tower you can climb up to the 3rd floor that has information on the different level of the ocean and a great view once you reach the top. We finished our trip by picking up souvenirs in the gift shop. We were there for about an hour. If you looking to kill some time definitely stop by and check it out.

A nicely laid out visitor centre on the mainland facing the Channel Islands. The gallery and interactive displays were enjoyed by all the kids. The stairwell paintings are very nicely done. The open aquarium is mesmerizing for the little ones. The fish and the 🦞. Would like to visit the islands but the cost for a family was quite high.

It melted as it was handed to me, as soon as I got it in my hands I saw a spalt on their counter. By the time I go to the parking lot half of it had dripped all over the concrete. I'm not sure if this was due to the flavor I chose or perhaps a newbie employee that served it incorrectly. The atmosphere is great and they have an abundant menu but unfortunately I was given a faulty one

Very popular ice cream spot with a unique twist; a freshly made fish pastry filled.with Nutella and other yummy stuff for your liking can be added to your scoops.

A MUST TRY spot in Ventura! This place offers such a unique ice cream experience right by the water. The presentation alone is worth the trip. It is picture-perfect and totally Instagram worthy. We couldn’t get enough of the Nutella-stuffed Fishzookies, which are crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside. Pair it with creamy ice cream and wow. If you're anywhere near Ventura, do yourself a favor and treat yourself. This place is a delight for the senses!

Fabulous and historic venue. Quite intimate. Acoustics seemed good, too (I saw a music event there). The beautiful but musty 1920s vibe is wonderful. I loved it, and we'll be back. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, there was no A/C, so it was really hot in there. I had surgery on my ankle and had to use a knee scooter. I could not walk on that leg at all. I had purchased my non-refundable tickets to see Matt Fraser a month prior, so I had no idea I was going to have an injury. I was surprised to find that this theater is not accessible. I asked the employee who was putting on our wristband how I would get to the pit. That's what my tickets were for. The employee had no idea how to get me there. He asked if I could walk at all, and I said no. He was very nice, I have to add. He called another employee, and he was also stumped. He said there was a very steep ramp he could take me through, and that was the only way. He was right. It was very steep! He was a very tall, strong man, and I was thankful for that. He held on to the front of the scooter and helped me down slowly, and my sister walked along the side of me. To leave, he pulled me up, and another employee walked behind me just in case. I was very thankful for all the assistance I received. Every employee was so kind and happy to help. I just want people to know ahead of time if you can't walk at all. This might not be the place to go.

Some great shows in a small venue. Getting to/from the location is a bit awkward but it’s right next to downtown and there is a parking structure nearby so arrive early, enjoy dinner downtown, and then catch the show. We saw The Offspring and it was an incredible time.

Had an amazing time at the Seaside Highland Games in Ventura! Bagpipes, kilts, Scottish dancing, and incredible athletic events — all by the ocean breeze. Perfect mix of culture, music, and fun for all ages. Can’t wait for next year! Scottish fun in the California sun! Loved the caber toss, live music, and great food. Well-organized and family-friendly — a must-see every October at the Ventura Fairgrounds!

Here’s a recap of our visit to the Ventura County Fair, which was WAVES OF FUN!! It’s now my favorite fair!! Stilt Walkers, Plenty of Fair Food to choose from, Beer on Tap, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, Livestock and Junior Livestock Auction, Pig Races (loved), Rides and Games, Shop Vendors, Bingo, Mechanical Bull, Live Music and concerts. Loved Violin on Fire with Patrick Contreras and The Outlaw Mariachi, which had people up and dancing!! The foodie in me was excited to try some fair food and it did not disappoint!! My favorite foods: Monster Chicken Kabobs- so flavorful and juicy! Bacon wrapped Jalapeño Poppers are a favorite go-to. Watermelon lemonade- so refreshing Tip: get the souvenir cup for $8 and get refills for 50% off. Dubai Chocolate Cinnamon Rolls. Cinnamon Rolls are baked fresh. So ooey gooey with chocolate. I wish it had more pistachio cream. The sampler box of fudge was creamy and sweet. The Divinity was like a light homemade marshmallow. If you love beef jerky, you’ll love Timbo’s Beef Jerky and Beef Sticks! We couldn’t leave the fair without the roasted Mexican Corn on the cob and cup. Fantastic!! Parking was $20

Great fair location! Great weather! We went on the 1st day, and it was only $5 to get in. There weren't many people there, also. Great time. Food and drink and rides toooo expensive, but we went for the experience l.

Best place to see a concert in Ventura county I had the best time seeing the ying yang twins, Peppa, Tone Loc and Fat Joe. Thank you for bringing great acts to the fair.

LOVE the Ventura County Fair...fireworks are gone, no drones, a lot less vendors, animals, even less rodeo events and entertainment. But everything that was there was great and the weather was nice and cool

Fun, food, rides, and great weather. Regular entrance adult tickets 🎟️ price is $20 ($15 for senior citizens). Parking 🅿️ is flat $20.

I was sitting behind this guy at the stcotty mcreery concert and him and his wife would constanly stand up moving back and forth blocking the entire stage. I asked them if they would mind sitting my moms in a wheelchair and counld see the stage at all they completely ignored me and even made fun of me to their friends i would allow them to be sponsors of the fair again

First time at harmon canyon absolutely breathtaking hiking trails beautiful view of ventura from the top of the mountains

The area is carved out along power lines, orchards, school, and residences. EVERYONE was friendly. The birding likely due to nearby orchards was diverse, along with a red tailed hawk nests nearby the entrance. A handful of trail options but lower trails nicely grated and wider than most. That's important because there are bikes, humans, snakes, coyotes, and you can pretty much "stay in your lane". I loved the beautiful Oak, Founder's Tree which is a good dedication to conservation.

I came for a bird walk and talk. Saw about 20 species of birds. Great walk, run, and biking trails. Many paths. Can go about 2.25 miles in from the parking lot. You can do more challenging trails that go farther certain times of the year.

Wonderful hike. The purple lupins were shoulder height and the fragrance was otherworldly. There are lots of great trails. Mountain bikes and dogs are allowed. Everyone we encountered was very courteous and kind. The tail was well marked and maintained.

I've ridden mountain bikes in Harmon Canyon on multiple occasions and there are all sorts of fun options available. If you want to do a wicked climb, you can head right to the top of the adjacent mountain and ride it down. Or you can just keep going straight back and the trails split into some impressive climbs.

One of my go to hiking spots in Ventura. It has several trails at different difficulty levels. Trails for mountain biking, trails for kids, trails for someone looking for a decent challenge. Great views of Ventura. It is at its peak during the spring with lots of wildflowers, birds, bees and butterflies. I’ve come across the occasional rattle snake so just be aware when hiking on hot days. There isn’t a ton of shade so make sure to bring lots of water. Ther are a good handful of old oak trees down in the canyon that offer a cooler stroll.

Some of the best designed and maintained trails in Ventura County. There's a central main dirt road that gradually climbs up into the canyon, with a half dozen or so trails branching off from it. These are so well carved into the hillsides that climbing several hundred feet feels like a breeze.

I have used the same natural deodorant for 8 years- it was the only thing that actually worked and was natural made. Wholefoods recently stopped carrying. Which is why I am here. I am BLOWN AWAY at how good this Sin Min cocochata deodorant works. I was skeptical, I was excited to smell it and try it in. From the first glide to the smooth touch to the armpit I am hooked! I will never look back. Sin Min natural deodorant has my heart. Thank you for creating such a stellar product. I want to tell everyone to buy it. The Ceylon leaf oil is a nice touch. I live on the East coast but found Shop Tiki Girl through Instagram. I typically do not buy clothes online because of how tricky it can be however I cannot commend their customer service enough! They are incredibly responsive to any questions I had regarding sizing or availability, and are extremely prompt in every aspect while also being friendly and polite. Their website also provides very detailed descriptions and photographs of items so there are no surprises as to what you will receive when it is delivered. I placed an order late on a Thursday and my package was received on that Saturday even with it being a holiday weekend. Shout out to the eco friendly packaging as well! Big thumbs up and do not hesitate to purchase from this store!

I loved visiting this shop while on vacation in California. While inside, you are welcomed by the considerate and helpful employees and can readily see the detailed attention given to the store's wares. Displays are artistic and aesthetically pleasing. The clothes themselves reflect latest trends and are well-made. Prices are affordable for the quality of the product. They also have an online shop and plenty of fun media posts to enjoy. My husband and I went to to look around and go shopping while in town for vacation. We obviously worn our masks in the store but when I tried on some items I removed my mask because I was getting a little faint and light headed and wanted a fresh breath. When I opened the curtains from the dressing room to show my husband what I was trying on. The employee (beige hat hair pulled back) blared out "put your mask back on while trying on clothes" Her tone was extremely unnecessary and frankly very rude. There was no one in the store either just us. We decided to not purchase the items due the rude uninviting inhospitable attitude of the employee. I own my own business in hospitality and would never allow an employee to speak to a customer like she did to us

I love this restaurant and will return. I love their food and service has always been great. The view is so lovely. We decided to spend our Thanksgiving there. They over booked. Although I had reservations for three months, we still waited for 20 minutes. There was close to 30 people, or more, at all times waiting for tables- crammed near the front reception and wrapped around the bar making the noise level-loud. The buffet and food area was a MESS. They were understaffed. No one cleared or cleaned the droppings and often many of the food trays were empty. The omelette station closed and left early! When I inquired, there was confusion as to why, other than the omelette guy ran out of “stuff”? When we asked about more mashed potatoes, we were told “oh, they’re coming but it’s going to be awhile.” There were two in my party, we had two cocktails and the buffet, and the bill was a little over $200. Again, what we did get to eat was delicious but felt like we had to fight for it.

This is a really good spot after a hike near the coast. In our case, we stumbled upon this gem at the coast of Ventura, just about 25 min from the Punch Bowls in Santa Paula. We started with cocktails and enjoyed fresh warm bread & butter. I had the Cioppino, and my wife ordered the porcini mushroom risotto. We also shared a chocolate tart for dessert. Every single bite was flavorful and delicious. We got here right before sunset, and we were able to enjoy a good view of it from our table.

The Brussels sprouts were absolutely delicious. I forgot the name of the other dish I tried—it was unique, creamy, and flavorful. The pistachio gelato was top notch too. Only tip: it’d be great if the windows and blinds were kept a bit cleaner to match the overall vibe 🩵

Ive been sitting here for the past 15 minutes waiting for my check and the food sucked and the drinks took so long to even order! The service was so slow and terrible as well. Not to mentioned it’s way overpriced for the quality. Not to mention there is now a party of 25 being served outside by the owner and the entire staff! While the people inside the restaurant are waiting for service.

We were here for an afternoon of football and eats. Also, brought our dice game along to play ship, captain and crew. Unfortunately, I left my dice game there. I did confirm they have it however, management has chosen not to take the time to sending it back to me in AZ. It is the difference between average customer service and exceptional customer service! I also offered and certainly pay for the cost to ship but never heard back. I would of provided a 4-5 star review if they would of gone the extra mile. Next time we are in the area, we will go to the other side of the harbor where there are many more bar and restaurants to choose from.

Walked into the place and wasn't super impressed, the restaurant was somewhat average in appearance. The view was nice, with a pretty sunset. From there it only went uphill. The staff was wonderful, very attentive, checking in regularly despite being slightly understaffed. Extremely friendly, informative about the menu. Not a negative thing to say about the service. Same goes for the food. I started with a mixed Gin drink, can't remember the name, along with the appetizer pizza. The pizza was delicious, especially with the drop of Basil sauce in the middle of each slice. My wife had the Blackened Chicken Pasta, I had the Braised Short Ribs and we shared the Garlic Green Beans, all wonderful. I guess there was one negative, the Blackened Chicken was slightly under seasoned, but still tastes good. In summation, I would definitely go back and recommend it for a date night or even a family get together.

I rarely criticize restaurants, but today I can't help but speak my experience. Went in at noon. The server and the hostess were very friendly. The view was beautiful. I was excited to order the house croissant with fruit and whipped cream. I just returned from living in Europe for 2 years and when I heard house croissant I became excited for a flaky, hot, buttery wonderful croissant. What I got was a croissant that was very obviously store-bought and had been microwaved and glaze had been poured over it. Within about 4 minutes of the staff putting it down in front of me, it became rubbery and I could barely cut through it. If you know anything about food at all, you know that this is the telltale sign of microwaving. I was really disappointed. As an appetizer we also ordered a cup of chowder. It did not taste homemade at all, it had a dark appearance, and it obviously came out of a can or it had been made the day before and reheated. It is definitely not award-winning. My spouse had the short rib and mushroom omelette. The meat was very dry, again, it tasted like reheated meat that was probably left over from the night before that. My husband did like his bloody Mary. The server was kind enough to have the bar make me a mocktail since I do not drink. The menus looked old and dated. This restaurant definitely looked like it has seemed better days and was tired and old. Unfortunately, we were looking for a place to host a large event but this place is not it.

I enjoyed a delicious salmon salad here, and the service from our waitress Summer was outstanding. The ambiance is relaxed, artsy, and airy, creating a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit!

We had the mushroom toast, which was tasty, though I’d probably add an egg next time. It would’ve been nice to have more than one type of mushroom for variety. I also ordered the half pastrami sandwich and harvest salad—both were delicious. The pastrami was thinly sliced and full of flavor, and the salad was vibrant and well-balanced. The only downside was the service. They were clearly busy, which is understandable, but the initial vibe felt off—like we weren’t really welcome or expected to order. Once our server became available, she was warm and attentive, which helped turn things around. She was lovely to every table and waitstaff person who walked by, even pedestrians. Queen. It’s on the pricier side—our total came to about $100 for two people, no alcohol—but overall, a solid experience with room for improvement in the hospitality.

Amazing tiki bar. Absolutely top quality traditional cocktails in an incredibly well decorated bar. The bartenders are fantastic and a wealth of information. The food is honestly better than most of the places back in Oahu.

What a fantastic tiki experience! We went during happy hour and had 4 drinks and some kalua pork sliders. Christie was an amazing waitress with a deep knowledge of the menu-beyond-the-menu as well as the food. If you have any interest in tiki culture and authentic tiki bars more specifically, don't miss this place!!

The food here is dangerously good - absolutely phenomenal quality! You can definitely add this to the list of best restaurants in town. The drinks are also incredible with a wide selection. There are three different seating areas all with their own atmosphere. The bartenders are all awesome. Love the vibe here! One of my favorite tiki places!

I love ventiki. I've been frequenting for years. I came September 14th for my birthday and it was AMAZING, omg. The bartender. The waitress. Perfection. The best birthday i could ask for and it made me want to come back even more. So I came back today. October 17th. The waitress wasnt great. She refused multiple cards. There was 4. Thats semi fine. But she lost almost 100$ + tip in just one person alone because he always gets a lot but he only got one bc thats all I could afford. So we all lost out because of that. Which is really sucky but not terrible. For the drinks, most people would be happy they were REALLLY strong. Im not a drinker, so it was super strong and not really that good. The bartender did remake it ♡♡♡ but she was not happy about it. Which I'm sorry about on her end. My best advice, because I love ventiki, go Sundays. The waitress is amazing. Idk if the same bartender will be there as sept 14th, but thats okay bc the waitress is a godsend.

This is a cool locals spot, which serves good food, and what makes this place even better is that it's a tiki bar. A mixologists approach is used when prepping the drinks, and as a result, the drinks are well balanced and tasty. The bartenders here are knowledgeable about the tiki culture, both historically and cocktailwise, which adds to the appeal. This spot is first come, first served. Great place to watch the sunset bring a little towel to sit on the grass because there’s a lot of dogs. If you like dogs, sometimes they come up to you while you’re sitting there.

Beautifully maintained. There is no playground or picnic tables, and only one of the benches gets some shade. If you don't like dogs randomly running up to you while you sit and picnic (or whatever), then I recommend another park. It has become an unofficial dog park.

One of the most beautiful places for a picnic in town, perfect spot to watch the sunset. Lots of dogs, so only major downside is when people don't clean up after their pups or the dogs are rowdy. And it is an actual cemetery, so just know that there are headstones here and there. Absolutely gorgeous place.

Brought the dog and the family to hang out and celebrate a birthday. Absolutely beautiful views and all the dogs had fun together!

Great public park! Clean, open green space with a fantastic view of the Channel Islands. Great spot to take a date and chat while enjoying the weather & view. There were couples picnicking, dogs playing, children laughing and even a guy playing some acoustic guitar. A few interesting plaques detailing the history of the park, too. Loved it!

Very nice staff and a fair location, but you can't get most of their beers in growlers, they pre-select just a few brews (3 on the day I came in) for sale in 64-oz growlers. All the other tasty suds have to be consumed on-premise. Not a deal-breaker, but after spending a week in Washington state, where every brewery LOVES to sell you more beer to take home, it's a little bit of a let-down. I'll probably still go back, when I'm in that area, to enjoy their beers, but given it's location, it's a "destination" not something you'd just walk to while doing other shopping or dining.

Great place for brewing supplies... and while you're at it, grab a couple beers at the bar! The black IPA is an excellent choice. If you're hungry, the food truck has great burritos that are HUGE.

Meh, place wasn't busy at all but still took 25 minutes to get a beer. Prioritized filling growlers for seemingly no one before helping me. Took my order, then walked away for 5 minutes. So i sat down and when they came back looked offended that I wasn't just standing there waiting. Came back up to the counter and they finally start pouring a beer. Bad experience. Beer was sub par save for 2, the IPL and the chocolate stout. I hoped the buyout would have improved things. I usually go once per year to see if it improves.... Looks like I'll try again next holiday season.

This is a pretty awesome brewery. When we visited, we tried to long board with all of their beers (the full 11!). I mean, if you’re going to try a new brewery, you’ve got to try as many of the beers as possible. Heck, I’m even pretty sure that we met the owner, who was super nice. We didn’t get to try any of the food, so I can’t tell you about that. However, they do have a BYOF (bring your own food) rule, which is pretty great. While we were there, some guys rolled up with some ‘zza. I’ll admit I was a little jealous. Good beer, great atmosphere, live music at night. They have pretty much everything you could ask for in a solid brewery.

Perfect place for happy hour. Staff seemed happy always a good mix. The beer on tap was cold as and I did enjoy the dishes. A great night shared by all in my group and we will definitely back.

Great brewpub! As an out of towner, the only things I will knock it for is a pretty heavy concentration of IPAs and hoppy beer (i.e. low representation of black beer, sour beer, red beer, lagers, etc) and no food in house. However, that's not really a problem because the locals love IPAs and the brewpub had no issue with me bringing my own food in.

It’s a busy location and more on a beautiful day. There are kids running around but for the most part the families were sat in front of the building and not the side. The pizza was mid but the wings were good. Beers selection is good, cocktails are good too and so is the Cider. I would definitely come back, just be prepared for it to be busy.

Our first time today for Mother's Day 2025 and we couldn't have asked for a better day in the sunshine at Fluid State. What a great place - inside dining, and outside dining in two places. Great selections of drinks and food. Was so happy we snagged a parking spot across the street and got in and out with no problems. Margherita Pizza and Pretzal with Pub cheese = a fine dining experience in downtown Ventura! Thank you so much Fluid State! 🍕🌴🌊

Came on a Tuesday evening around 3pm and there wasn’t a lot of people. They had lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. We got the sourdough pepperoni pizza and one of the spiked ice tea drinks they had for happy hour. I loved the people working and the atmosphere of the store. People were super nice & it is dog friendly outside. I would come again! the pizza was so so good!

Got the pizza and a beer. Beer was a little overpriced and foamed to the brim. Pizza was good and they have a lot of healthy options too. Fun little industrial style brewery with a very comfy lounge area. Can sit inside and outside. Staff were great and buss boys were amazing too. Staying on top of everything. Will be back again.

Had a phenomenal time Celebrating 4th of July here with my older brother. The staff is very knowledgeable and welcoming. The pizza was great and I really loved their drink selection. They have a variety. I recommend the mezcal margarita aka “la piña”. Great food selection and vibes. This is place is awesome.

I visited this place for analytics. What do I want to say? It's an absolutely tasteless, over-salted pizza with terrible dough, dirty tables, stinky dirty restrooms,unfriendly staff who won't even say hello or provide a menu within 20 minutes of your arrival! 4 out of 10 service, and the atmosphere of a cheap bar. I don't understand why there are so many people there on weekdays. It's probably because of the parking lot and the cheap menu.

Leashless has incredible beers (our favorite being cheater 5) and even more incredible bartenders. The bartenders had to deal with two emergencies while simultaneously handling normal customers and a band and they handled it flawlessly! If you are in the area you have to try their beer, I wasn’t an IPA goer before I tried the coconut IPA and I’ve considered myself converted. Not to mention the live music scene ❤️

Some of the best beer out there! I’m a fan of IPAs and Leashless has some very tasty IPAs. The staff is very friendly. They frequently have live music: Reggae, Jazz, and rock. Great spot for beer and live music!

Leashless Brewing is a great place to go. check out the live music Fridays at 6 pm. Bands like Warsaw Poland Bros.

I hosted my welcome party for my wedding here on 6/27/25 and all I can say is that I was EXTREMELY impressed with them and will sing their praises to anyone willing to listen! I emailed a few weeks prior due to our previous venue falling through and they got back to me within 30 mins of inquiring. They had been extremely communicative throughout the weeks leading up to the day and followed up with me multiple times with confirmations and it made everything stress free during a stressful time <3 We ended up renting the tower room for two hours, and they let us extend that until closing which was amazing. They also went out of their way to get a band for the night and also a Taco truck! I wasn't able to hear or eat the food but all of our guests (60ish people) said the food was amazing and that the band was fantastic and even shouted our wedding out! They went above and beyond for us in this event, they even let my Father-in-law use their microphone in the tower room to give a speech towards the end of the night and they didn't have to do that! All and all - Joe and the team were amazing. I would 10/10 recommend them for any event where you want a chill vibe with great food and beer and even greater service!

Organic beer that leaves you wanting nothing. This is extremely rare to experience when you are gluten-free. They have delicious beers for regular beer drinkers who can handle gluten. Either way, it will be a more conscious and healthful choice. Regular live music. My only disappointment is only being able to utilize the free ‘member’s drink’ on one day/time of the month.

Left my glass full on the counter. I love beer. I work at breweries and I appreciate a good beer. I don’t know what this place is going for but no carbonation, no flavor, no nothing. I ordered the only west coast IPA and the double IPA and after two sips I got up and left it on their counter. Trash.

The service matches their high quality beer selection, along with the delicious food. Even when fully packed, operationally, you'll get the service you need. Highly recommend the birria tacos/fries from GIOs food truck. I had their chicken, and wasn't a big fan due to the meat quality. But their birria is tasty, unique, and fulfilling - try it out!

A long standing member of Venturas coffee roasting scene. Inevitably buy a bag to take home. They have their roasting down to a science. Take coffee brewing seriously. Make their own syrups. And brew a solid cup of coffee. Easy to drink. Happy to have ordered time and again. Open early. Usually has street parking within a few seconds walk. Easy wheelchair access. Coffee shop has a few space to sit and enjoy the coffee. And a few tables outside. It’s a go to consistently.

Just popped in for a few minutes and left, but the space was great, staff was friendly, and the coffee was killer. Had an oat Gibraltar and couldn’t have been happier. Grabbed a super tasty kombucha on the way out.

Bright place, but it feels like it lacks character. The coffee is good, but nothing special. I think it could use a bit more of a unique story or vibe. Overall, it’s a pleasant spot and worth stopping by for a cup if you’re nearby.

First time here. I’m pretty basic, love a good coffee flavored cold brew. I’ve never had such a diluted, no flavor, cold brew. Ever . Anywhere . Terrible.

Lovely coffee shop. Has a young college vibe. Lots of people reading and working on their electronic devices. This is exactly what I expect to see in a coffee shop.

Lots of interesting antiques and a vast variety. Most antique shops in my area repeat the same things from vendor to vendor. I am new to going to antique shops, so I recommend taking a picture of the booth number where you picked up your item and especially if there is a discount applied to the item you're getting. I picked up a book that was marked 20% off and forgot to mention it at checkout. Everyone is super nice and helpful and the store is laid out in a way that allows you to get lost in a maze, but in a good way. Definitely recommend this shop.

Great store, great selections, Hot Rods meet here on Sunday mornings and they had a live band out front, had a wonderful time.

It's kind of like a maze inside so it's hard to navigate and make sure you've seen everything.

Spacious and beautiful with plenty of stalls to find all sorts of treasures. Staff greeted everyone in the midst of their chatting. I think there was a good variety of things beautifully presented. I'll return.

Call the Museum of Ventura County, across the street, to verify it will be open. Free Admission. An entire museum dedicated to what was uncovered from the excavation of the city block. From prehistoric, Chumash, Spanish, Mexican, European, to present. Endless display cases of the finds.

I've been meaning to visit this museum for years, but I just never seemed to be there while it was open... so when looking for something to do on a summer's day with the kids... this spawned a day trip to Ventura! With easy parking just across the street, we parked (where one would normally park for the Museum of Ventura across the street... another fabulous museum if doing things with kids) and happily ventured towards the "open" sign of the museum. Truth be told, I wasn't sure exactly what this museum was, and we walked in and discovered a relatively small room with various artifacts from several eras... But the SUPER cool thing about this museum is that everything in was estivated by archeologists at this location in a pit (that you can still see) back in 1971! Apparently, after an auto mechanic went out of business and they started getting ready for what came next, they started discovering artifacts... and it kept going and going! What's so cool is that they uncovered artifacts from several different eras and cultures the further down they went! As far as I-forget-the-year BC! But then later the Chumas, the Spanish, the Mexican's, the early American's, then the Chinese! It's super cool to see all these different artifacts from different cultures all discovered in one place! It years makes you think about what lives beneath our feet. Hedge expectations... it's small, but it's also FREE and as a general rule, I always give free museums five stars! Depending on how much you want to read, it's not going to take you too long to get through the museum... there is that one small room, and then you can go out back, see the pit and some various other spots they're set up... all in all it'll take less than an hour... but I love stuff like this! Apparently there are more museums in the US than Starbucks... so I really appreciate small museums. It's RIGHT in downtown Ventura, so it's easy to make a day of it. There are tons of restaurants, shops, the museum across the street and even a new arcade! The museum gave us a map of historic Ventura buildings and we did a bit of our own walking tour, but we actually (I don't know if I'd recommend this all in one day) walked all the way to the botanical gardens and did that after! That's a bit of a walk, and while I absolutely recommend visiting there... that might want to be its own day where you park in the lot. Definitely check it out!

Here at 11 am at stated hours on pictured poster & website. No one open or put up a sign the will not be open. We had our of town guest waiting for more than 30 minutes in the heat. Call before you go.

It’s interesting, all of the things they found from different cultures and eras. If you go to the Ventura County Museum web site, you can take a virtual tour where you move around the building and can read the info for each item.

Had a lovely time here. You can learn about the history and pre-history of the place, who lived there, what they did, and what became of them. The gal at the front was super knowledgeable about history and archaeology (and lots of other stuff). If you're in this part of town, check out this museum.

Ventura Beach offers a peaceful, laid-back vibe with beautiful sandy shores and gentle waves. It’s perfect for a chill day by the ocean, with fewer crowds than some of the busier California beaches. Great for walking, surfing, or just soaking in the sun and fresh sea breeze.

I was mainly on the Ventura Promenade since I was walking my dog, but really enjoyed being there. Great views of the shoreline, beaches and ocean. The pier was closed due to storm damage from last year, but it was still nice to look at since it used to be the longest wooden pier in the US. Others on the promenade would yield and we're respectful of pedestrians, dog walkers and cyclists. Several parking and restroom options along the way.

Ventura Beach is one of the most beautifulest beaches I've seen and ever had been to! First time experiencing these once and a lifetime opportunities and it's amazing!

Love this beach! Mostly I love the rocks but it is a very nice beach. Not so many people really. You can pay for parking if you plan to be there all day it's only 10 bucks and there picnic tables and such. Plenty of parking. The bike path is great. There aren't people walking across the bike path dragging sand onto it and being clueless like in Santa Monica. Way way way nicer. There are volleyball courts. Waves are kinda small. Water is cold as to be expected most of the time. No tar. Plenty of birds to watch and the locals are not mean or snotty.

This is a truly great beach that offers something you can’t get down the road in LA….. quiet. It’s worth the little drive to not have to be over charged for parking and not have to be surrounded by the crowds. Check out the nearby Madewest Brewery at the pier while you are here.

A lively and friendly market in downtown Ventura with plenty of fresh vegetables, local produce, and tasty food stalls. It’s a great place to shop for cauliflower, artichokes, onions, and more, while enjoying the sounds of live music. The community vibe is warm and inviting, making it a fun spot to spend a morning supporting local farmers and sampling delicious treats.

Go to the orange tent!! First of all they give free samples of some of the best oranges I have had. They are not hit or miss like the bags you buy at Trader Joes where sometimes they are good and sometimes they suck. These oranges have so much flavor.

Love this market. I always find great produce. I’m especially happy there is also fresh Italian cheese now. We are really enjoying Caprese salads with heirloom tomatoes!!! Lunch options in the food court are good. Most go for crepes or tomales.

I really appreciate the fresh local produce that all of these wonderful friendly vendors bring to Ventura once or even twice a week. I would give them five stars if they provided their own restrooms rather than depending on all the merchants and the local park restroom.

The Ventura Farmers Market offers a plethora of vibrant produce and more! Located in front of the Beautiful San Buenaventura Mission, locals stroll with baskets in hand for their freshly picked veggie feasts, handmade cheeses, meats & other yummy things to eat. A highlight of Ventura Farmers Market was the concessions and hot foods tucked in the Mission parking lot. Here you will find my favorite stand "Keto Sweets LA" (granola & carrot cake is a must!) Also, a ceviche guy, a hummus guy and a barista among other food vendors. If you are famished, you can sit and enjoy some yummy Mexican food & be serenaded by some live music! What a lovely morning you will have soaking up the sun & salty wind in your hair. 🌞🏖🌊💒

The Ventura Farmers Market is the best farmer’s market I’ve ever been to, so many great vendors with very good products to offer, it’s a great place to spend a morning.

Fun, awesome brewery! A must visit in Ventura!! We had an overnight visit to Ventura and decided to hit up Ventura Coast Brewing Co! Other breweries nearby were closed on Mondays so I was stoked Ventura Coast was open. Nice selections of delicious tasting beers, plenty of seats in and out. Various rooms and lounge areas. Very cool, laid back atmosphere and kid friendly! You can order pizzas which worked out for us and appreciate! Will be back when we visit DT Ventura again! Cheers!

Super nice staff that learn regulars/ local's tastes and are knowledgeable about their products. They are kind to my dog and let me park my minibike out front in one of those empty triangle spots. The patio is great for parties and they have a rear cabana that can be rented out for private events. The bathrooms are relatively clean and they have a membership for specialty mugs and discounts. This is somewhat of a hidden gem as it is off the beaten path of downtown mainstreet but I like it more for it.

Great spot to meet up with friends. Food trucks there most nights, different ones, so you can grab a bite. Great bartenders, always friendly, indoor and outdoor seating - no reason to let any rain slow you down. And, very important, you gotta try the pickle beer! Its only available one day each week. You'll have to go in and ask when that is...

The city of Ventura is a bustling city that is bursting with microbrewery options. One such establishment is Ventura Coast Brewing Co. Located down one of the side streets of Main, this is one of the rare breweries that is actually in the vicinity of where both locals and tourists alike frequent. It is a nice place to catch up with friends or host an event. The space is open and well lit and serves a nice variety of different beer styles. It's definitely worth a visit if you are looking to spend some time downtown and need a little respite from shopping. Try the S'more stout, if anything, for the wonders of The toasted marshmallow they put on top.

I enjoy this brewery. They always are doing something different and new. Ventura Sun is newest Hazy IPA. Its great.

The entire operation front to back is amazing. NEIGHBORHOOR is one of the best beers i've ever had.And the head brewer is amazing.They care about their customers.And are amazing to everyone that comes in the door .

Definitely one of the quieter piers on this stretch of the California coast. The pier feels less like a tourist trap than its cousins in Santa Monica, Redondo Beach or Malibu and more like a fisherman's hang out. Longer than most piers this place must be a great place for sunsets - unfortunately we didn't have time to wait.

There’s something magical about Ventura Pier when the fog rolls in. Locals were still out fishing, bundled in hoodies and sharing laughs, while couples strolled hand in hand, disappearing and reappearing like ghosts in the fog. Ventura Pier on a foggy evening isn’t about views—it’s about vibe. And if you ever need to clear your head or soak in some quiet beauty, this is the place.

Beautiful views. Sadly it gets trashed and vandalized during its use, and refuse isn't sorted properly. Definitely worth catching a sunrise or sunset. It's often you can be the only person on the pier in the early morning.

It’s not easy to access if you are disabled. There is no elevator from the boardwalk to the Ventura Pier. You could get dropped off at the street where the Ventura Pier entrance is located. Other than that, it will be difficult. It’s not wheelchair friendly. The pier is beautiful. With tremendous views of Ventura. There is a taco shack at the beginning of the pier. There are restrooms in that same location. There is a restaurant/bar if you would like to dine on the pier.

I have always enjoyed walking the pier, watching people fish, or maybe just seeing people enjoying Ventura for the first time.

I have been inside City Hall a few times. Once to do some paperwork for work and other times to show my children. The building is beautiful and well kept. It is always nice to see the building from different angles as we drive and walk around downtown. I snapped this picture when we were driving by in October 2023. As we drove by I loved the way it looked in the evening time.

What beauty? From the front entrance and surrounding its areas, it was beautiful. It located a little up to the hill and looking down to the beautiful beach, the scenery was breathtaking. Inside the building, it was well-structured designs with marbles on the walls and large stairway. Looking down the long and cleaned hallways, there were displayed of this area historic artifacts and new designs. People here were friendly and welcoming. Struck a conversation with a lady named Yolanda at the planning department. She was very warm and sweet, and the ladies here at this place were also super nice and very helpful.

I was born and raised in Vta. I was ashamed to see the mayor shut down and restrict a Mothers 1st ammendment rights to free speech in a public hearing! Not to mention, Ventura Public Schools do actively try and sway children to be gay or trans. Y'all should be ashamed to work for a tyrant mayor. Don't LA my Ventura!

Beautiful building designed over 100 years ago.

Beautiful peace of architecture. I am not reviewing the politics or the staff, or anything about its history. Simply that it is truly wonderful that this building sits as a great landmark and not an eyesore like many modern city halls.

When I moved to Ventura in 2020, one of the first people I connected with was Whitney, and she instantly made me feel welcome. I wanted to support small and local, and during the pandemic I remember visiting Findings Market by appointment. I quickly fell in love with her shop and even more so with the community markets she hosts twice a year. You can feel her passion and care in everything she does. From the way she curates each item in the shop with intention to how she brings people together through her beautifully organized markets. I always walk out with something in hand. A soft cotton tee (or socks!), a card, or a gift for a friend. There’s truly something for everyone. The shop features a thoughtful mix of independent designers, small brands, handmade goods, artists, and artisans. As both a customer and vendor, I deeply appreciate the space Whitney has created. It’s more than just a store. It’s a hub for creativity, connection, and community. And shoutout to her amazing team, especially Arantxa & Barbara , who are always kind, helpful, and full of good energy. I'm so grateful to be part of the world Whitney is building. It’s truly something special.

Findings in general is fire!! This is my go to place for gifts for my wife...the staff is so nice and helpful. I feel very welcomed even as a man in the store! What a great spot filled with TONS of great local goods. Also, the market they host is amazing. Definitely support these people if you like supporting local. :) Every gift a man needs for his wife starts at either Findings Market or Findings Flea. They also sell tons of organic, natural, non-toxic products as well. :)

Amazing “findings” in here, what a fun store full of treasures and wonderful pieces. I’m an avid vintage collector and love the thrill of the find. Unfortunately, The way the two women spoke to me and turned up their noses is why I give you two stars. I was almost in tears leaving your store , The Snobbery kills the vibe 😢 also, maybe fix the bathroom situation or close it to customers -

My go to for unique and well made gifts! Not kidding, I come here for all of my friends birthdays, celebrations, etc & I love to treat myself here as well. Whitney does an outstanding job of curating a gorgeous store. It always feels lo bright and comfortable in this space and I always leave feeling inspired. If you are traveling through town YOU MUST STOP HERE! I also bring any visitors through this store because it displays so many local artists & makers. Can't say enough good things about this shop :)

A great park to take your furry friends and enjoy some out door time. Separate area available at back of park for small dogs and large dogs without leashes. And a ton of walking area with leashes.

I love this park! It’s well maintained although the road in the park really should get repaved. If you drive further back there is a sink near picnic tables that has running water and there’s another faucet near tables past the playground. Not sure if the water is potable so I can’t recommend drinking it. There’s a dog park that has a fence around it and it looks like dogs enjoy it. I don’t talk to any of the dogs in person but they sure look happy. There’s courts (I’m assuming tennis) located to the left when you first drive in and they look well kept. The bathrooms are clean and always had toilet paper when I had to use them. The fields are really big and I’ve been here during little league and it gets packed! Not all the time but sometimes. Lots of shade to park under and great place to just chill.

Great park with plenty of open spaces. The park had several parties going on with plenty of space.🦋 Were all around the park as a bonus. Great place to walk play ball or bring your 🐕 dog to fenced in area for social time.

Beautiful park BUT read to the bottom! The parking to get to the dog park may be too far to walk for some people. I have a small dog. There is only one bench and bring your own water. If new, you may not understand how to open the gates. WARNING: There is a woman on the back side with a van she lives in with a LOT of small dogs she puts outside in a pen. At least one dog can scale the fencing and will attack. She knows this but doesn't always pay much attention as her dog easily got over the fence and made it to my dog and attacked him. Animal control has been out there but do nothing.

Very full, active and lively. Big & small Dog parks, 4 baseball diamonds, 4 tennis courts, two soccer fields, 2 playgrounds and a barbecue pit.

We stayed at Site M at Lake Casitas for a weekend camping trip with 12 people across two sites. The lakefront views were absolutely beautiful, with a gentle hillside providing a clear line of sight to the water. It’s peaceful, scenic, and especially great for families looking to relax in nature. Each campsite had room for 2–3 medium tents and 2–3 cars, though only one vehicle is included per site. We didn’t realize until later that extra cars cost $30 each—this detail was buried in the long confirmation email and not easy to spot. Worth checking ahead of time. The kids enjoyed the small playground right by the water—not fancy but perfect for burning off energy with a gorgeous lake backdrop. The fire pit had a built-in grill (though a bit worn), which worked well for both BBQ and evening bonfires. Bring foil or a grill brush if you want it cleaner, but it does the job. Restrooms were just okay—not very clean, and they only had toilets and urinals, no sinks. There are water faucets spaced every 200–300 feet, which was helpful, but no showers available on-site (at least not nearby). Be prepared for that. We tried our luck at fishing—the water was clear and clean, and we spotted some 12–14” carp swimming close to shore. No bites this time (no carp bait!), but the area is safe for kids to skip rocks or dip their feet. There’s also a small flooded bridge between sites that seems like a great fishing or photo spot. The best part of the trip was simply the time spent together: campfire chats, grilled food, drinks, and even movie night with our own projector. Nature, family, laughter—it was the kind of weekend that stays with you.
