Hopelands Gardens is a 14-acre estate in Aiken, known for its picturesque beauty and rich history. Once the private gardens of Mrs. C. Oliver Iselin, this tranquil public garden features old oak trees, cedars, a koi pond, fountains, and enchanting holiday lights. The estate offers children's story time and hosts free concerts on its performance stage.
A few years ago my lovely wife took me to Hopelands Gardens. This was my first visit there, and it was a very nice, relaxing walk around the grounds! Very enjoyable. We didn't get to explore everywhere due to my mobility issues, but I felt like we did cover a lot of the grounds. I didn't have my camera, and I wish I did, but cell phone cameras are really pretty high quality these days. I look forward to another visit, probably next Spring!
Kurt W — Google review
Several times a year we visit the serenity here. Spring is our favorite. Everyone enjoys the music and lights at Christmas, everyone loves the colors of Fall, but the magic of Spring and all of the turtles, the flowers, the Koi pond and the crisp newness of the promise of our new year, this is my absolute favorite. You can walk the paths, sit on the benches, bird watch fish watch or swing on the swings up on the hill or walk your dog or have a small picnic. The most relaxing place in aiken sc !

Great place to take photos and create memories by feeding fish or visiting the historic parts.

Absolutely amazing. Very scenic and excellent layout. There is an abundance of wildlife. Very peaceful
Meika — Google review
How fun to find a botanical garden in the middle of Aiken. Enjoyed a picnic lunch there. There's also a horse racing museum there, but wasn't open on the Wednesday we were there.
Nan S — Google review
Beautiful place to walk in nature and among the trees! And see one of the horses.
Lucky D — Google review
Very beautiful and peaceful place to take a walk and view history of Aiken. You can bring your dog too. I will go back when the flowers are in bloom. We saw giant coy fish, turtles, big bullfrog and many butterflies and birds. Such a special place for Aiken to have and share for free with visitors.

The Aiken County Historical Museum, housed in a former winter colony mansion known as Banksia, offers an elegant and captivating journey through the history of Aiken County. The museum features diverse exhibits including the county's golf course, local pottery, and the Savannah River Site. Visitors can explore various rooms such as the Aiken County Room, Winter Colony Room, Circus Room, Graniteville Room, Agricultural Room, and Nature Room to view historical artifacts.
Our guide, Alecia, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very interesting museum to visit. No admission charge, but worth giving a donation at the end

Honestly, I stopped into this quiet, hidden gem completely on a whim. My gracious, what a wonderful museum! Several small communities were completely displaced by the Savannah River Site installation; many of the items are saved and on display here. An ENTIRE Pharmacy, complete with Soda Fountain of housed in the basement! It's just a phenomenal time capsule of days that aren't so really long ago. Don't miss this amazing slice of Aiken history!

This is a lovely county historical museum located in a beautiful 1930s "addition" to an older 1800s mansion. Aiken is known for the Winter Colony of the wealthy New York crowd for a period before the turn of the last century. Banksia, the name of the mansion that houses the museum, was a 13000 square foot addition to a previous 3500 square foot home on the property. The museum holds the story of Aiken from it's founding up through the present day. So, whether your a regular visitor to Aiken for the horse culture, or just passing through and wondering what the region is all about, the Aiken Historical Museum is the perfect place to learn.

This is a beautiful house and grounds. It's now a museum but it was once a house for the Howe family. Beautiful

Great local history location to visit while in Aiken area. We enjoyed our self guided tour and the information available in each room of this house/ museum. Plus, a local quilt show was on display the same weekend we were there!! Museum door greeters were very helpful as we entered. We got to know Aiken history a bit better after touring this museum.

Restaurant
Located in Aiken, South Carolina, Neon Fig offers a modern twist on classic Indian cuisine. The restaurant serves an exotic array of delicious dishes that cater to lovers of Indian food. Their menu includes items like the Farro Bowl, Grilled Fish Tacos, and Salmon Bagel. With its unique take on traditional Indian flavors, Neon Fig is a must-visit for those looking to explore new culinary experiences in Aiken.
I tried Neon Fig after a friend recommended the restaurant. They have an outdoor dining area which is nice. Since I dined during lunch hours, I can only attest to their breakfast and lunch choices which were great! I definitely would return. The restaurant is a great place to experience different menu options that aren’t offered in your typical southern restaurant.

I wanted to express my appreciation for the excellent service and culinary experience at our restaurant. We have consistently maintained a clean and welcoming environment, which sets the tone for a great dining experience. The staff's quick service and friendly demeanor have been impressive, and the culinary team has exceeded my expectations with their perfectly prepared dishes. Over the past week, I have had the pleasure of dining here four times, and I am thoroughly impressed with the consistency and quality of our offerings. I believe our restaurant is a valuable asset to the community of Aiken.

Loved the food and service; great place for brunch! There's plenty of seating inside, but we sat outdoors- it was a beautiful, sunny day. I had the shrimp n grits (delicious), my hubby had the grilled cheese & brisket sandwich with fries (he loved it), and our child had pancakes (good portion-she did not eat it all). They have mimosas of various flavors; you can get "bottomless" if you like that. Definitely recommend trying it out.
A H — Google review
Really great place. Friendly staff. The food was delicious. I got the French toast & my husband got the brisket grilled cheese. My only complaint is the breakfast menu is pretty small & limited - no waffles or pancakes, and no variety of syrups or jams. The beignets were exceptional, highly recommend. They have numerous vegetarian & vegan options as well!
Hope G — Google review
This restaurant came highly recommended from the staff at the visitor center. We parked at the visitor center and train museum, spent some time there and enjoyed ourselves, and then walked a short four blocks to the neon fig. The day was beautiful so we sat outside, which was the right choice. Quiet street, lined with magnolia trees, on a picture perfect day. Kate was our server and was tremendous, perhaps a little too attentive, but took great care of us. I had the quinoa power bowl with the house, cured salmon. Absolutely delicious and the right choice on a cool spring day.
Roger P — Google review
We had one of the best servers Makenzi H. Thank you for your great service. We ordered the shrimp and grits, spicy chicken and waffles, and loaded potatoes. It all was good and full of flavor. There signature hot sauce i must say is the best. Even sitting outside was very relaxing.
Tay — Google review
I have been here 3 times and everytime has been a fantastic experience! Twice for brunch and once for dinner and i am very happy with the amount of selections on both menus. Servers are always so freindly and happy to make recommendations. It has become out favorite brunch spot and we will be going back! 😄

Had the hummus appetizer, that was a little mixed on that. The hummus was good but they had edamame on top of it. Wasn't crazy about that. Had the chicken salad BLT, oh my gosh, was that good. Very good cocktails as well

Whiskey Alley is a cozy eatery situated in The Alley, at the heart of Aiken's vibrant Downtown area. The restaurant offers a variety of small plates, salads, and entrees like roasted ricotta gnocchi, filet medallions, fish and chips, burgers, and vegetable plates. Despite its name, City Billiards is actually a full-menu restaurant with some pool tables and has been around since 1957.
Service was great! G was very helpful with all the recommendations. Sunday lunch with some live music out on the side. Had a charcuterie board with some amazing meats and cheeses with a side of olives. Drinks Michelada and Irish Whiskey Coffee. Prices very very high on the Whiskey and Drinks. Originally went for the fish and Chips but price for a piece of fish and French fries was $28. Cool atmosphere.

One of the only places in town to get different! Consistent menus changes with great food to me is key to a successful restaurant. We eat out A LOT locally to support our restaurants and eating the same menu items for over 3-5 months gets mundane. No worries here bc they are always changing the menu! Want something a little exotic they have that too! My favorite non alcoholic bev is the Easy H8MP Co spicy marg! Crush it! We have been two weeks in a row and I highly recommend the pork chops. They are delicious. I ate them both weeks. Everybody in my party absolutely thought there. Entrées were delicious as well. Whiskey Alley has the best bourbon the best drinks and the best service in Aiken go give them a try!
John B — Google review
I stopped by and had the fish and chips—and wow, it did not disappoint! The flavor, texture, and freshness were all top-notch. You can really tell the quality of the ingredients is above average, and while the price was a bit higher than some places, it was absolutely worth it for what you get. The service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt laid-back but refined. I’ve heard from several people that the burger here is the best in town, so I’m definitely planning to come back and try it for myself. This place is a gem—great food, great vibes, and clearly a place that takes pride in what they serve. Highly recommend!

I ordered the salad - the 'lil" one and some of the leaves were a bit slimy as well as the cucumber slices. The dressing had a good flavor. Our hot pepperoni/salami sub was very lite on meat. Like a slice of each on each half. The wait staff was amazing. Cute bottle idea for water.

First time visiting Aiken and walked in on a Thursday night around 7 pm. They had a table available for us inside, but busy enough that we were asked if we had reservations. Ambiance, food and service was excellent. Definitely will visit again next time we're in Aiken.

This was our first visit to Whiskey Alley and wow, completely blown away by the entire experience. We went to celebrate our anniversary and were first greeted by flowers and a signed card on our table! All the staff that we came into contact with were friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be returning!

On a Saturday night, Whiskey Alley was very busy so we elected to be seated in the enclosed outdoor backroom. Menu selection was good and our selected entrees and cocktails did not disappoint. This area of Aiken was a very busy social gathering place and would be great for people watching. Parking was at a premium and we found parking a few blocks away... the walk to Whiskey Alley was enjoyable.

Whiskey Alley never disappoints. Daniel and Halsie behind the bar are incredible, welcoming, attentive, and truly passionate about what they do. They make you feel like a regular the moment you sit down. The espresso martini is the best in town and their whiskey knowledge is next-level. If you get the chance to be served by Daniel or Halsie, you’re in great hands!

Nestled in the heart of Aiken, South Carolina, Mellow Mushroom Aiken is a vibrant pizzeria that perfectly blends creativity with comfort. This funky eatery boasts an eclectic decor filled with art and offers a diverse menu featuring stone-baked pizzas, calzones, and an impressive selection of craft beers. Locals from nearby Clearwater, Graniteville, and Windsor flock to this beloved spot for its delicious offerings.
My family and I ate at Mellow mushroom the other day and I was pretty satisfied. I didn't like the presentation of the wings. I felt like they could have mixed them in the sauce, but hey I don't mind getting my fingers a little messy. The pizza was hot and tasted great. We had meat lovers and chicken buffalo. Let me tell you the chicken buffalo is not for lactose intolerant folks.

Fun, funky, pizza shop. Great drink selection, and the pizza is delicious. A small 10" is perfect for 1 person. They have some funky pizza's that will knock your socks off. We entered on the back side where the patio is, on Whisky Alley, you cant miss the place with giant mushrooms and the Grateful Dead Dancing beers. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was busy, but there were plenty of tables available. Parking is pretty easy on the street, We were there beginning of March so it was off season. There was a kids birthday party going on while we were there, so we all sang happy birthday. The staff were on top of things and attentive to the table.

Place has gone downhill. I ordered a pineapple and ham pizza for pickup. Went to pay for it with gift card, they wouldn’t even accept it. The topping distribution is the worst I’ve seen. A toddler could put toppings on a pizza better. Some pizza doesn’t even have pineapple on it. I would expect better if I’m paying $30 for the pizza
Pmoney 5 — Google review
I ordered the house pizza no tomatoes. I must admit I’m disappointed in the presentation of this pie. The toppings could’ve been distributed evenly across the entire pie. It appears to have been just thrown together.

It's quite a good place to go with friends. Great pub food. Trivia night is Tuesdays and it's fun (especially if you win). It does get loud though, so go on a different night if you want to have a quiet conversation.

I don't go out often because I have bad social anxiety. But Bee was the sweetest most patient and kind server I've ever had. She listened to all my needs and took care of me with a smile that never faded.

The service was great. The pizza was a complete bust. Not hit and cheese not even melted. Ask to see a manager and none would come forward. Got a $10 discount (big deal). Not going back.

The calzone was terrible. Dough was soggy n it had ricotta inside only on one side so most of The calzone was just bread. The marina sauce was very soupy n way too sweet. My friend ordered the same thing and said the same thing. Very disappointed Last time I was there the food was good. We had to chase the waitress down for silverware to eat. Definitely won't go back again

Italian restaurant
Casa Bella is a charming restaurant located in a Victorian mansion, offering a cozy and homey atmosphere to enjoy old-world Northern Italian cuisine. The property was originally a ladies clothing store before being transformed into the restaurant it is today by the current owners, Arlene and Joe Ianelli. Chef Joe prepares classic Italian dishes such as zuppa di pesce, osso buco, and the favorite eggplant rollatini.
First time here. Food and service were great. It wasn't busy so I can't really say if that would change if they were. Loved the quaintness of the restaurant that was a 1890s house.
Brian K — Google review
We really enjoyed our first time here. Very nice atmosphere. Nicely greeted. The food was delicious!!! I had the special....eggplant and veal parmesan with pasta and my husband had a pasta and sausage dish. Next time I will ask for less sauce but it was good. The calamari could have been crunchier but still had a good flavor. We will definitely be going back!!!
P C — Google review
An old friend of mine invited me out with her husband while I was visiting Aiken. She recommended casa Bella as it was one of her husband's favorites and since I had not had Italian for quite a while it was perfectly fine with me. Located in downtown Aiken Casa Bella is literally a repurposed house serving final Italian cuisine. The restaurant has a wonderful wine list and if you don't know what to have with dinner, the server will be more than happy to provide a suggestion. We started dinner with calamari and mushroom fries, which are a large portobello mushroom 10 into strips lightly breaded and fried. Both excellently done. I ordered lasagna, my friend ordered veal Marsala, and her husband had a special of the day chicken with dehydrated tomatoes and peppers. The veal and chicken dishes were well received. I am the other hand was slightly disappointed with the lasagna. Although a very healthy portion with a lovely sauce and lots of meat, there's an apparent lack of cheese. Look at the photograph and tell me you see any ricotta. I didn't see any of the wait staff nor our waiter for quite some time after lasagna had been placed in front of me. So I continued on with eating and by time our waiter showed up I was well through halfway done and didn't bring up the matter. Overall, dinner was well received by all and conversation catching up on old times and discussions of current affairs made up for lack of cheese. This is nothing to not recommend or find fault with the restaurant, and I would consider returning, if I get back to Aiken.
Dr D — Google review
Would say it was a 5 star experience, I got something to try that was not to my taste, but it was me branching out. The risotto was phenomenal the veg of the day was green beans and they were well seasoned and crisp. The potato soup was good enough to be a stand alone meal, and the bread with the oil and roasted garlic paired well with everything. The show stopper was really the crème Brûlée, with a nice cappuccino to accompany. It had a excellent crust, and was simple and delicious. Want to comment on our server. He was also wonderful.
James H — Google review
What a great restaurant, I had spaghetti and meatballs and my wife have pasta primavera. Both were excellent. And dog friendly on the beautiful patio.
Bernie C — Google review
Maybe my expectations were too high? We typically go to another ‘nice-ish’ restaurant when in town but thought we’d try here. Our group of 8 put in a small room upstairs which was nice for privacy and ambiance but HOT. It was at least 10 degrees cooler when we left the room. Our server was patient and did well taking orders and getting checks right. My Veal Marsala was room temperature even almost close to cool (as were most other dishes noted by my dinner mates). We had already waited so long for our food I didn’t want to complain or send back… I probably should have. It was not very flavorful (I’ve had at many restaurants so have a good palate to compare), a tad more chewy than tender and the pasta that came with it just plain noodles. The house salad was fine and bread was highlight of meal. We came, we tried but alas we probably won’t return. I wish I had a picture of food but didn’t want to see rude in front of my dinner party. Perhaps it was an off night- ciao bella.
Elizabeth S — Google review
Arrived at a Saturday night with no reservation so I'm taking that into consideration. However, at the time we arrived, the restaurant was not busy and many tables were empty. We were greeted at sat and told by the hostess that she would be back with menus. It took about 15 minutes for her to return. The entire service experience was mediocre at best. Food: Chicken Marsala was very salty. Chicken picotta was good. Overall, environment was nice, lot of potential given the history but this particular experience left much to be desired.
Carlos C — Google review
Loved the steak. I had the Chicken Marsala, not as flavorful as I would have liked but still tasty. Service was good, and timely. We will go back.

Nestled in the heart of Aiken, The Pizza Joint is a vibrant local restaurant and bar chain that specializes in crafting delicious brick-oven pizzas, calzones, and sandwiches. This casual eatery offers a welcoming atmosphere perfect for families and friends alike. During my visit, I was drawn to their Detroit-style pizza after hearing rave reviews from both a friend and the attentive waitress—who certainly knows her stuff!
Good outdoor seating for us and the dogs. The food came out pretty quick and was delicious. Large portions great to take home for left overs.

I had such a great experience! From the warm welcome to the relaxing ambiance, everything was just right. Their Hawaiian pizza was an absolute standout - perfectly crisp crust, just the right amount of sweet pineapple balanced with savory ham, and a delicious sauce that brought it all together. The staff were attentive without being pushy, and the overall vibe made it a fun and comfortable night out. I'll definitely be returning and recommending this place to friends. Thanks for a wonderful meal!

Stopped here with friends and had a great experience. The service was prompt and friendly, and the prices were extremely reasonable. We had pizza and calzones and everything came out hot and fresh and was very tasty. The calzones were large and filled with lots of cheese and toppings. They came with a side of marinara sauce that was very good as well. The pizzas had a great crust....medium thin on the bottom and thicker on the edges. They make their crusts each day and they are much better than pre-made crusts. The pizzas had plenty of cheese and toppings as ordered and tasted yummy. We will definitely go back again soon. Parking is right in front of the building or across the street, and there is a wheelchair ramp near the front of the building.

We always have dinners for special occasions at the Wilcox. The service and atmosphere is excellent. The old hotel is charming especially if you sit in the lobby. Try the Wilcox Gin and Tonic. Don’t be afraid that it is a little purple. It’s meant to be that way. The food is good but could be a little better. Same with the service. It is higher end but they could use just a bit more training. All in all…. I would go if you are in the Aiken area. It is firmly on the Aiken bucket list.

We played a few rounds of golf and then grabbed dinner ant the Willcox afterwards. The ambience is nice, but we were squished at a two seated table, with another table right next to us. We had no privacy, or intimacy. We could hear their conversation the entire time. It did not feel romantic whatsoever. The service was okay, it took a while to initially track our server down. The wine selection was nice. However the food was awful. The steak was overcooked and tasted like cilantro. It was very overpowering. I would come back to drink here and ask for a different table. I most certainly would not dine here again, especially for a special occasion.

A lovely dinner at the Willcox. We have been a few times, and the Sixty South Salmon never disappoints. A nice environment with friendly staff. The only downside was the black truffle gratin that came with the fillet. My spouse said it was good but underseasoned (only item not eaten). I had the dessert special, cookies and cream gelato, delicious. 🍴 House chips and blue. cheese dip 🍴 Sixty South Salmon 🍴 CAB 6oz fillet 🥄 Cookies and Cream Gelato

First I have to mention the wheelchair entrance is on the side by the pool. We came for Saturday brunch and everything was fantastic. The salmon poke was to die for with in-house made taro chips. The flavors were an explosion in your mouth! The eggs Benedict, avocado toast and catfish po boy & fries were ok. They were far outshined by the poke!! No complaints and our waitress was very sweet. Can't wait to be able to come back.

My wife and I had dinner here and both of our Entrees were delicious. We also got the oysters and they were amazing.

5 star service from the the car to the table. Valet attendants were kind and helpful. They had a beautiful lobby with live piano accompaniment to set a beautiful atmosphere. We arrived early and were offered early seating or drinks at the bar. Our waiter, Tristan, was highly attentive and provided us with helpful recommendations for our meal choices. Everything we ate was delicious! We also appreciated the small touches of several staff commenting on our anniversary, a small note, and drinks from the restaurant. 10/10 would recommend and look forward to coming back in the future.

My wife, son and I enjoyed a fine dinner, celebrating our 19 year anniversary recently. We were served by Bruce, who treated us with flawless service and pleasant conversation. He remained aware of our needs without 'hovering', keeping our glasses full and courses perfectly timed. My wife and I had the salmon dinner with asparagus, which was cooked perfectly. Both cuts were flaky with excellent texture. Not over cooked on the outside or under cooked in the center. My son had the burger with truffle fries, which was also cooked to perfection. All dinners were served together; a tip to the cook who timed the meals so well. The meals were hot while the plates were room temperature - a sign no 'heating lamps' were used. Overall, an outstanding meal. We highly recommend asking for Bruce for the perfect dinning experience.

Went to celebrate my birthday. It was worth it. Food was very good and our server was very knowledgeable, funny and professional. (Wish I could remember his name so I could send him a shout out). It was pricey though. Many of the cocktails and liquor they offer, can be bought at other establishments for a significant lesser amount.

The fields are clean. They fenced in the fields which results in less chasing the ball and downtime. The latrines were clean. They hav a small splash pad. It also has a nice walking trail around some of the fields. It was a great experience.

One of the best parks in the area. Lovely place to just sit and enjoy the weather. Always something going on out here. Sports and family everywhere. Great place to just park and enjoy the marvelous view.

Great for walking or jogging. Its about .8 miles around the soccer field area. Not heavily congested w/people. Bathrooms are currently open. Very well kept/maintained. Pets welcome as long as they're on a leash. My new exercise spot.

Really well kept park with ample parking and facilities. We've been here a few times for our granddaughter's softball tournaments.

The splash park is still open, though lots of others have closed for covid. We went on a weekday morning, and it was very easy to distance ourselves, it was only one or two families per hour. They have 3 tables, and a separate bench, all under shade. If you leave the center table empty, it leaves 10 feet or more between the seating. The water is chlorinated somehow (could tell by smell) and chilly, very nice in the heat! Bathrooms are right there by the tables, accessible inside the gated area. A nice, flat grassy area is inside the gate too, good for kicking a ball or playing catch. I appreciated that the grass was treated, didn't see any ant hills, so the kids could run barefoot on it without worries.

The playgrounds are decently clean, wasn't trash everywhere, I'm thankful water fountains actually work, the playground is pretty safe as well, only thing is that the playground is sticky but I think that's normal for kids

Fantastic park with lots to do. Playground is very nice with activities adults can do with their children and some creative structures, the trail has a lot of shade due to the many beautiful trees, and the community center has great staff and tons of activities and programs that look like a lot of fun for all ages. Brewery
Aiken Brewing Company is a cozy brewpub that offers a rotating selection of handcrafted beers and a menu with pub-style dishes. Despite some outdated menu items, visitors can still enjoy delicious options like hot dogs, fries, Philly cheese steak, and beef steak wrap. The downtown location tends to get busy quickly, especially on weekends. While the beer selection may be limited at times due to maintenance issues, their Thoroughbred Red is highly recommended.
Nice downtown spot. I was here on a Saturday, right after 12. It was full by 12:30. The beer is pretty good. They had a cooler down, so only had about 5 beers on draft. Their Thoroughbred Red was the best bet on tap by far. I had a cheeseburger and salad. Both were good, and I had no regrets with my order.

Almost to good to be true! Our server was friendly, attentive and quick. We had amazing food, with fresh ingredients, delicious recipes and dishes. Our refreshments made for a truly great afternoon.

Stopped in while in Aiken. Wonderful little brewery! Had to opportunity to chat with the Head Brewer which was super cool. All the beer was excellent, very bright and flavorful. They also have 3 Great American Beer Fest medals so that speaks for itself. Highly recommend checking it out.

Arrived and seated right away. Robby was our waiter. He was on top of things. There were 4 of us and we used the online web page to peak at the menu. They had a very nice dinner menu posted and we were looking forward to some steaks and scallops. Unfortunately they don't due anything from that menu any longer. That really needs updated. We choose to stay and had a very nice dinner. Nice hot dog with kraut, Cher's fries, Philly cheese steak, and a beef steak wrap. All were very tasty.

Service was great…Lemon pepper wings excellent. Beer was bland IMO, had the Red which had a great flavor but no “bite”. Onion rings were cold:(

We came in at 11ish party of 5 seated right away, orders taken promptly and the placed filled up with people so fast. Took a little bit 2get our food but they were totally hit offguard with all the people. The club sandwiches and Caesars salad were sooo good. Service was great, thx again guys!

Chill atmosphere, friendly bar staff, great beer. The menu has a bunch of cool and vegetarian friendly stuff on it. The pretzels, although not made 100% in house (the beer cheese was!) Were really tasty!! Met the owner Rob, he was super friendly! Everyone in south Carolina has something with the tree and moon on it, for these guys it's the napkins. I love it! If our state flag (alabama) was that cool we'd put it everywhere too. They have a beer mug Club and for $50 a year you get a 20 ounce pour instead of a pint and your own mug, it's too bad they sold out in the first six hours of 2017!
S T — Google review
I had the Honey wheat. It was almost tasty. It seemed to be a little bland. It lacked any carbonation. It was like drinking watered down apple juice. The guy next to me had the IPA but that too was lacking carbonation and flavor as well. My wife had a wine. We ordered 2 sandwiches both were average. Very disappointed since my beer group was here last year and said it was good. They sold more domestic bottles than their own beer while we were here. I've never used meh in a review till today.

This local family-owned seafood restaurant and oyster bar in Aiken, South Carolina offers a diverse menu featuring dishes like the veggie, egg, and cheese scrambler bowl for breakfast and the Tuna Phish Melt or The G.O.A.T. sandwich for lunch.
My mom could not be home this Mother’s Day so I looked up where she has been staying while her van gets fixed and found this great place to surprise her. Order online was easy and asked if they would make it special by hand writing a special note and they went above and beyond. Thank you so much for doing that it meant alot to her and I. She loved the food and Beet Smoothie. Also very dog friendly.

I had lunch delivered to my mother as a birthday treat. Mom said the G.O.A.T. and side cream of zucchini soup were delicious. The staff went above and beyond even decorating the box with a birthday message.

We stopped at New Moon this afternoon for lunch after walking around downtown on a beautiful day. Nice little cafe, not a lot of seating. Friendly people and good service. I had the G-Love sandwich, London broil, provolone and onions, and it was good but not really meaty. My lovely wife had the Boss Lady's Chicken Salad and said it was fresh and delicious. But the star of the show was what we took to-go and ate when we got home. Two brown sugar cinnamon muffins! I wish we bought a few more. Maybe next time!

Just passing through and wanted some brunch on the way home. Found this super cute place. Very inviting, friendly people and the food was delicious. I got the smoked salmon on an everything bagel. Definitely one of the best I’ve had. The dill made it so fresh and delightful. The vanilla latte hit the spot and my guys breakfast sandwich was incredible. Fluffy cheesy eggs and the croissant was warm and flaky. If we are ever in the area again we will go back

This is the epitome of a local coffee shop. Fabulous servers and wonderful atmosphere contribute to an artistic sense of the town. My iced latte order was a bit complicated but the server was so kind and even offered alternatives. The croissant was warm, buttery, flaky and just the right accompaniment. I look forward to going back to this shop the next time I'm in town.

The Aiken County Farmers Market is a must-visit destination in Aiken, South Carolina. Located on Williamsburg Street and steeped in history, this market offers an array of fresh produce including fruits, vegetables, and crops that showcase the city's agricultural heritage. With over 50 years of tradition, it brings together local farmers and businesses to provide visitors with a wide variety of farm-fresh goods.
Bobbie with Enchanted Hook Crochet makes the cutest things not only for kids but for adults as well. She also will take custom orders. Her daughter makes customs earings as well. They are definitely worth seeking out the next time you're at the market.

Very disappointed that our farmers market has turned into a retail market. Years ago everyone there actually grew and harvested and made what they sold. And it was truly fruits and vegetables perishable goods. Now you can buy tie-dye T-shirts and other things. It's not a true farmer's market anymore.
Morris L — Google review
Do not waste your time. They claim they are open Tues, Thursday, Sat. We just went today 5/29/25 Thursday. Arrived at 9:50 am and there were no vendors there except for two people with enough vegetables to maybe fill half a shopping cart. Big disappointment. They get one star because you can’t post with less.

Seafood market
Charlie's Fish Market is Aiken's oldest restaurant, operating since 1909 and located at its present spot since 1985. While most customers opt for takeout, there are also tables available for dining in. Visitors have raved about the unique flavor of the fish, particularly enjoying the combination of mustard and hot sauce as a condiment. The market is known for its excellent service, with an older Greek lady and a polite gentleman with an accent receiving special mentions from patrons.
My son introduced me to this spot about 3 years ago and every time I'm in Aiken I stop buy to get fish. I love the service provided by the owner and her staff. It's always a pleasure to visit and eat here. The price is good as well.

I dont know how this place is still open. No one greets you to take your order they just look at you like you crazy. One frying pan to cook the same fish orders. Who knows when the oil was changed. Stood there for like 5 mins with no knowledgement. Mama looked lost doing the orders. Mama needs to retire and enjoy the rest of her life. VERY SLOWWWWWWWWW.

One worker inparticular in this so called establishment was condescending and a very unprofessional with an attitude. I went in to ask some questions regarding the type of fish sold as l am from up north where l am more familiar with. My questions were answered abruptly without concern. Not a problem l will have fish shipped on dry ice before l buy a damn thing from this place.

Love love love this place, this is the only fish house in Aiken I go to. The older gentle man with an accent the cleans the fish is the best worker in there hands down! He’s always polite in person and over the phone. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes for my fish to be descaled, gutted and cleaned to perfection!

I used to live in Aiken for a little over a year and worked down the road. I stopped in several times and had some of the best fish I have ever had. I always thought mustard and hot sauce on fish was weird, but then I had it and it was great! Only place that I have ever had that. Unique gem for sure, loved the older Greek lady who worked there!

Nestled at the corner of Barnwell and Laurens, Betsy's Round the Corner is a charming eatery that captures the essence of classic American dining. This delightful café offers a menu filled with mouthwatering burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, and ever-changing blue-plate specials—all crafted from scratch to ensure freshness and flavor. Whether you choose to dine indoors or enjoy your meal outside under an inviting umbrella, you'll be greeted by friendly staff who are eager to make your experience memorable.
Since me to the area,we have made it a point to try as many local restaurants as we can. Betsy's Round the Corner was next on our list to try. It's one of those You Could Walk Past it and never know it's there , that would be a huge mistake. Eat inside or dine out side under an umbrella. The staff is super friendly and quick. Place your order first and then sit down. I recommend the pimento cheese dip. It's amazing. They have changing blue plate special and a lot of be unique items. The entire place is very charming. We will definitely be back. Btw. Ice cream and craft beer a plenty.

Traveling through Aiken and found this cute little diner! Friendly staff! Burger and fries was delicious. My husband had the Murphy dog (chili was more like taco meat though) he said it was ok Upstairs was closed off however, there was plenty of seating indoors. There’s also outdoor tables with umbrellas if you prefer that dining experience. We had chocolate malts! They tasted alittle different than any we’ve ever had.

Great local fair. Lunch time crowd, fairly busy. Ordered at the counter. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Mostly self service. Burger and fries were good. I would order again. Soup was good, sandwich is what you would expect. . The brownie better than average. Love the atmosphere and the employees are helpful and friendly.

Arrived at restaurant around 3:15 ET, Tues Aug 20. It took a couple of minutes before someone approached me to see if anyone was getting me seated. I was wondering around a bit, taking pictures. Not sure if that caused any confusion. Once recognized I was seated promptly. The drink order was filled in under two minutes. I ordered Tuesday's blue plate special; pot roast with “mushroom" gravy. I selected the mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables for sides. It comes with a corn muffin. The meal was delivered pretty quickly. The pot roast was not unique in its taste, but was well prepared and flavorful. It was tender, with a slight amount of pink here and there. The brown gravy it came with did not have mushrooms. Was it mushroom flavored? I could not tell. It was however, prepared with the expected consistency and good flavor. I can take or leave mushrooms, but some customers might be disappointed that they were not present. My ”diner restaurant” expectations are somewhat “managed” regarding this type of thing. The mixed vegetables were well seasoned and tasty; if a bit soft. These are NOT the “seasonal” mixed vegetables I get at most places. I enjoyed these vegetables. I eat the variety served at most places (and believe them “healthy”) but normally find them light on taste and their contribution to the experience more “obligatory” than enthusiastic. The ones served at “Betsy’s Round the Corner" were a welcome change; even it the sodiium was higher than needed. The corn muffin was good. Not too dense, flavor was as expected. The blue plate by itself was $10.00. I found it well worth that money. So much better than the burger / fried chicken I normally fill “on the road” mealtimes with. I added a Pepsi and a frosted banana nut cake dessert to the meal. The mix was as expected with a good Pepsi. The cake was excellent. The soda and dessert brought the total to just over $17. Overall I felt the meal was a good value. I enjoyed the meal experience and am likely to dine there again, if in the area.

This was my 2nd time visiting Betsy's Round the Corner. The 1st experience was awful - food came out cold and it took forever to get our food. This was shortly after they opened so I assume they were just working out the kinks. My husband and I went as soon as they opened to beat the lunch crowd. We sat outside, because we love outdoor seating. I had a gyro with sweet potato fries and he had the reuben. Both were delicious! The service was quicker this time as well. I'm holding back 1 star because the waitress didn't rend to as much as we would have liked. Other than that, the experience was much better tha the first. We will go back!

Mr. Ron and his family have always gone above and beyond in service, food quality, and atmosphere. I personally always get crawfish, my family members LOVE their seafood pasta, loaded oysters, and too many other dishes to list. Their food portions are always plentiful, fresh, and tasty. Many family seasoning secrets in a lot of dishes. We frequent their establishment quite often, and always will.

Worth the wait! My husband and I made a 7pm reservation for dinner on the Saturday night before Valentine's Day. The restaurant is small, was expectedly crowded and like all restaurants today, short-staffed. However, it was disappointing to wait at the hostess stand for a full 15 minutes with no greeting or recognition from staff at all. Finally, bartender Ron told us someone would be with us shortly. When another 5-10 minutes passed, my husband walked to the back of the restaurant to the bar and asked Ron if we could get seated since three tables had become available since our arrival. Ron made it happen and ended up being our server as well. Ron was great! Friendly, attentive, personable and very generous with the wine pour.😁Thankfully, the food was worth the wait. I had the shrimp pasta, husband had the crab leg sampler. Both portions were huge and the food was delicious. Thanks, Ron!

So far this is a first class place. Very reasonable prices. Excellent bar drinks. Ok, this is indeed the go to spot for seafood. The staff treats everyone great. The shrimp, sausage, potato and corn are seasoned just right. By the way the sausage is very tender. This place has everything conceivable for making a person feel at home apart from their home surroundings. I like Palmetto Seafood Bar so much. The atmosphere, food, the customer service makes me want to dine in everyday. Everything on that menu is palpable and tasty. I reside in Hephzibah, Ga. If I didn't live so far, I would probably be in attendance there @ least 3 days out of the week. Palmetto staff, continue doing what you are doing. By the way, the smiles, the laughter and the joy that they bring when serving their customers! Showing a photo of my daughter. There were 3 of us enjoying these meals!

The restaurant is cute, great location, lots of potential. The waitress Bri was friendly yet seemed inexperienced with the menu. It took almost 30 minutes for our bar drinks to arrive and longer than that for our appetizers. The gator bites were worth the wait. Very delicious! The dining room floor was very slippery and the bathroom was filthy! The food was reasonably priced unfortunately all of our food came out at different times. I was the last to get my food. I ordered a ribeye rare and unfortunately it was ruined. It was medium well when I ordered it rare. I just asked her to remove it from the bill because my family was already eating. There was no way it'd be ready before they were done. This was my first time eating there and I highly doubt I'd go back.

I had the shrimp gumbo and my wife had the Shrimp tacos. Both were very good. We will be back. This trip I had the grilled Mahi Mahi, my wife had the Shrimp tacos again (they are that good).

If you're on the hunt for a delightful fast-food experience, look no further than Hardee's! This beloved chain is known for its mouthwatering fried chicken and hearty burgers, not to mention their scrumptious made-from-scratch breakfast biscuits that are perfect for starting your day right. Located conveniently on Richland Avenue near Kalmia Plaza, Hardee's stands out with its inviting atmosphere and friendly staff.
Faith, the manager, deserves a special shout-out! Her positive attitude and helpful demeanor made my entire Hardee's experience fantastic. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. And oh my goodness, the peach milkshake! It was absolutely divine. The perfect balance of sweet and creamy peach flavor, thick and cold. It was the best milkshake I've ever had! I'll definitely be back to see Faith and enjoy another one of those incredible milkshakes. Highly recommend both!

Faith, as a manager, has truly transformed this establishment. Previously, the bathrooms were a significant point of concern, often described as unclean and poorly maintained. However, under Faith's new management, a remarkable improvement is evident. The restrooms are now consistently spotless, a testament to her commitment to cleanliness and a positive reflection on the overall customer experience. This dramatic change speaks volumes about her effective leadership and dedication to providing a superior environment for all patrons.

I put in a mobile order on July 2nd at 5 p.m. I paid for the order and when I arrived there was no one at the store. No employees at all. You shouldn't be able to order and pay for something if the store is closed. There was no way to cancel the order or get a refund either

Went in this evening after a long stressful day at work and the cashier Faith really brightened up my day. She was very knowledgeable, respectful, and also attentive to notice I was having a bad day. Not only was the service good, but my food was hot and fresh. Thanks young lady for making my day.

I was served cold fries that I still had to wait for despite no other cars in the line. I understand why, now. I asked for some sauces, was given no verbal reply. She did pack some sauces in the bag, though not the correct sauces. I expect minimal consideration at drive thrus. It comes with the territory of workers not being paid a living wage, but this service was below my already low expectations.

Five stars aren't enough to express how amazing my experience was at Hardee's! First, the Frisco Burger was absolutely incredible. The perfectly toasted bun, juicy patty, crisp bacon, and creamy sauce were a match made in heaven. It was a truly satisfying and delicious meal. But beyond the fantastic food, I want to give a huge shout-out to my manager, Faith. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, and efficient. Her positive attitude brightened the entire atmosphere, making my visit even more enjoyable. Faith's exceptional customer service truly made the difference and turned a great meal into an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Hardee's and, if you're lucky enough to be served by Faith, consider yourself fortunate!

This is the second time that I have been on my lunch break with only one car in front of me and waited way too long for an order for just one person. I always try to give second chances because everyone can have bad days. I literally ordered a Frisco combo and two apple pies with one car in front of me and waited 12 minutes at the drive-through window and was then asked to park so they could bring my order out and an additional five minutes. So I waited almost 20 minutes for that small order!! It did not make sense for me to ask for a refund and wait for that and then go find somewhere else to purchase food from because half of our lunch break was already gone!! At least be nice and hot because I assumed it was cooked fresh . The fries will be warm and the Frisco sandwich was definitely not fresh because it wasn’t even very warm at all!! I used to love Hardee’s, but this will definitely be my last visit!!

I recently visited the Hardee’s on Whiskey Road in Aiken, and I had a really great experience — mostly thanks to Faith, one of the employees. She gives amazing customer service! She’s super friendly, always smiling, and makes sure your order is right. It’s rare to see someone care that much in fast food, and it really makes a difference. Another highlight was the handcrafted lemonade. It was so refreshing — not too sweet, not too sour, just perfect. You can tell it’s made with care, and it really hit the spot, especially on a hot day. The food was good too — fresh, hot, and just what I expected from Hardee’s. The inside could be a little cleaner at times, but the great service made up for it. If you’re in the area, stop by. Faith’s customer service and that lemonade are definitely worth it!

Restaurant
What's Cookin' Downtown is a long-standing eatery that elevates typical breakfast and lunch offerings. The family-owned restaurant offers freshly cooked Lowcountry breakfast and lunch fare for dine-in or takeout, featuring staples, Southern favorites, bakery treats, and full-sized casseroles. The cozy ambiance with handcrafted tables adds to the homey vibes, making it a nostalgic and inspiring local experience in Aiken.
We haven't been in a few months. Had a delicious breakfast at What's Cookin'. It's hard not to get the pancakes everytime, they are so fluffy with a little crisp to the edges.  We ordered plain biscuits and sausage gravy to go. 🥞 pancakes 🥞 breakfast plate (grits, eggs, sausage, and toast)

Happy, non-assuming little place that could easily be overlooked. Friendly staff, clean digs, delicious grub - what more could you ask for? If you order the Chopped Cheese (and you should), try it with the pimento cheese instead of American. Big fan of the fried okra! They keep the batter really thin, so you actually taste okra rather than breading.

Great food and cool little place. Not what we were expecting but enjoyed our visit. Little different from traditional café as you order and pay then get a number to set on your table. You get your own drinks, silverware, condiments... only reason for a 3 on the service. The waitresses and bussers were great but it was odd getting your own stuff. We both had build your own omelets, food came out really fast and hot. Food was great, nice size omelets with good fillings. Menu little small but has the basics.

What a beautiful, local experience. Hands down, this is the best restaurant with homey vibes in Aiken yet. This place feels nostalgic, I needed a place for inspiration so that I could write again and I found it here! Aiken has always been my home, I was born and raised here. This place is by far the best restaurant I've been to in this area. I love the coffee house music that plays, it's very retro and gives me new ideas and clarity. I had the Spinach Bacon Salad!! It was absolutely AMAZING! If you're going for breakfast, you have to get the grits. I added cheese in mine, they are the best grits I've ever had hands down (and I was raised on grits!). I had the Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake with my lunch today and it was worth every penny. The prices are beyond reasonably for the amount of food you get on your plate and the quality of each bite. I am not over exaggerating when I tell you, if you're looking for a place to eat that has an "Aiken-feel" and right in the historical part of cozy downtown Aiken, look no further than "What's Cookin'". You're welcome. Oh! I told you so. 😉

We took our family of five (two adults and three children) to What’s Cooking and had a great overall experience. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable—our total bill came to about $75. I ordered the French dip and was thoroughly impressed. The meat was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—easily one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend it. My wife had the club sandwich and enjoyed it with no complaints. For the kids, we ordered a grilled cheese, hamburger, and chicken sandwich. Everyone was happy with their meal, except for one of my daughters who thought the chicken was a bit dry. I tried it myself and thought it was delicious. The small side of chili we ordered was also a hit. My youngest daughter even recommended dipping the grilled cheese into the chili for extra flavor—a surprisingly good combo. Overall, What’s Cooking delivered a satisfying, family-friendly meal. We’ll definitely be back and gladly recommend it to others.

My third visit. Some of our friends told us what a great place downtown Aiken was. So, about 4 years ago, a few of us ventured from our hometown of Augusta to see for ourselves. What a joy it had been and for the past 3 years we have made it an annual visit. The food is great, the people at What's Cooking are great and the atmosphere is fantastic. We'll be back next year. And maybe I'll try that rainbow cake!

Literally the best grits I’ve ever had! Ordered the terminator breakfast Lol not much to it, for the price you would expect at least it be served with toast but no. Ordered the grits as a side( additional charge) grits so good made up for disappointing breakfast plate. Restaurant is very clean and beautifully set up. Will definitely be back and give lunch a try.

Absolutely a must visit when visiting Aiken SC. Food and service was great , however being a first time visitor I was unaware of having to get my own silverware and drinks. There were no signs posted about self service and wasn't till my meal arrived and I asked where my coffee was the waitress then kindly explained it to me. Other then that the restaurant was terrific 👍

Cocktail bar
Malia's is a renowned restaurant located in Aiken, South Carolina, offering a sophisticated dining experience with a touch of Southern charm. The establishment prides itself on using high-quality, ethically sourced ingredients to create innovative and consistently excellent dishes. The seasonal menu features a variety of options, including Spinach and Artichoke Bisque, Grilled Chicken Salad, Turkey Flatbread, Shrimp Linguine, and more.
First time my wife and I visited Malia’s in downtown Aiken. Decor nice, small bar and comfortable seating. Our entrees were wild boar and scallops. Both we well presented. Wild Boar was fall off the bone and I really enjoyed it. My wife had the scallops, tasty but there were only quantity two, which we felt would be OK for a starter but not sufficient for an entree. The homemade raspberry pie and ice cream was delicious. Good selection of bottled beer. Service was excellent, albeit a tad expensive. Would definitely recommend this place and we would come here again when we are next in town.

Beautiful place! Came here at opening at 5pm on Tuesday 10/14/2025 for a family members birthday dinner celebration! Our server Leah, was very polite and Very attentive! She remembered everyone's orders! If You are coming here with a large group of 10 or more, expect to wait a minimum of an hour and 45 mins for Your food to come out! I had a weg salad with extra bacon. It was just ok! The combination of blue cheese crumbs and balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing is different! My wife had the Shrimp vindo! She stated it i was average! The other family members enjoyed the meals and drinks they had! Its kinda pricey for the small amount of food served to You, but it was an experience!

My son and I ate here to celebrate his 21st birthday. He ordered the short rib manicotti dish, and I ordered the wild boar osso buco. We also shared a blue cheese wedge salad, and a piece of raspberry pie for dessert with ice cream. Everything had amazing flavors. It was warm and properly prepared. There were good portions on the plates as well. It was a little empty because of the holiday, but I Evan, our waiter, did a good job of taking care of us. I do wish the raspberry pie had more raspberries in it, but the meat on my plate was so tender that it fell off of the bone. This made up for the raspberry pie being small. We will definitely return as it is a valuable asset to our community. .

I was in town visiting family and we chose Malia’s for dinner. We made a reservation for 3 at 6:30pm. We were kindly greeted as we walked in and we loved the new decor. We were then seated in the small side room to the right that has 3 tables. Everything started off ok, then soon declined. We felt like we were forgotten because we were seated away from the center area. Service became worse. Our waitress, Paige, was nice at the start, but we felt as if we were being rushed. We were there on a Wednesday evening and there were plenty of empty tables. We were very easy and only there for 1 & 1/2 hours. We felt like we were bothering her. We asked three times (2 different employees) for wine/water refills, which we waited 15 minutes for. Just as we were getting up to find someone to cancel them, they were brought out in a hurry. The wedge salad is good, very small. A small, adorable, well behaved dog was sitting in a chair at the table next us. Her head rested on the table with her owners. She was let down and went over and vomited between our table and hers. Numerous employees noticed it and walked past/over it several times without getting it up. It continued to sit there as we ate our meals. Then, an employee stepped in it and continue on as if not to see it. We really wanted this to be great and see that the new ownership was going well, but we were terribly disappointed. We unfortunately will not be back. For the price of food and atmosphere, The Willcox is a much better option. I truly do not like writing such a negative review, but hopefully they will improve the issues we in countered tonight.

Love this place, food is great and wait staff was excellent. Ambiance was very classy and cozy, only thing I wish they had would be a dress code. Apparently you can walk in off the street in flip flops, shorts, and tshirt.
J. S — Google review
Went with 3 other people for lunch and we were pretty excited given the very nice ambiance and the reviews but what we got was rather disappointing. The amount of bread provided as a complementary appetizer was 1 slice per person and barely more than just crust. One of us got the spinach salad which didn't even come with all the ingredients listed on the menu (they forgot the walnuts) and frankly I've seen better salads at Panera for 12 bucks. I got the $26 shrimp and grits which were very disappointing and also missing the tomatoes listed as an ingredient on the menu. The grits were almost certainly polenta, hardly any grit to the "grits". And the shrimp, all 5 of them, were unseasoned and uninspired. I was expecting an upscale take on shrimp and grits but what I got was really more an unbalanced, excessively rich and greasy plate. Needless to say I don't think we will be back.

A friend and I stopped in during Amp the Alley. We sat in the courtyard and grabbed a couple of drinks and some apps (Brussels, gnocchi and baked feta). Everything was a delight! We both rated the Brussels at the top of the list. The service was impeccable as well. I highly recommend dining here and can’t wait to go back!
Kelly H — Google review
The wait staff is wonderful and the service is good, but the food is not what it once was. I had stale pie the previous time I visited that was microwaved, which made it gelatinous. I thought it was just an off day, but in retrospect, I also had sat next to people who were complaining about the bland buffalo tacos not being upscale-restaurant quality. I will not dine at Malia's again after my recent visit, when I was served room-temperature lobster bisque that the waiter then took back and microwaved. As I ate the soup, I though maybe I would find a piece of two of actual lobster in it — nope. It was a light, cream based "lobster-flavored" broth that tasted of tarragon and had a strange texture with what appeared to be an olive oil drizzled on it. They served that with the heel end of stale bread. I had ordered the greens, and eating the teardrop peppers resulted in such severe indigestion and reflux after I left the restaurant, that I was up all night taking Prilosec. I probably should have stopped at the questionable bisque, but my sweet tooth led me to order dessert - which was stale sticky pudding which they seemed to think would be remedied by covering it with vanilla ice cream, which, if I can put it this way, wasn't exactly the level of Haagen-Dazs. I didn't complain at the time, because I didn't want to cause a disruption or stress out the bartender, who is a nice person; I had empathy for the staff having to deal with the decline in quality. This was such a waste of my hard-earned money that I am now avoiding eating out. If a high-end restaurant with a previously exceptional and reliable reputation is serving this sorry excuse for gourmet food, then I am concerned about what the mid-level restaurants may be serving. Not just no, but hell no.

Lots of nice things. Anything from jewelry to furniture to toys and everything in between. Lot of the prices were way to expensive for me. Facebook market can offer similar items at a much cheaper price. Prices were a definite turnoff.

This antique mall offers a variety of vendors selling traditional decorative items as well as more rustic decor. There are vendors offering 20th century glassware and fine crystal and table accessories too. There are a number of vendors offering jewelry at very good prices. My friend and I enjoyed wandering through here for the better part of 2 hours. It's not so large, but we took extra time looking at everything. We found that the prices were quite fair. The staff were very helpful when we needed keys to see things that were in locked cabinets. I look forward to going back the next time I'm in Aiken.

Nestled in the heart of Aiken County, South Carolina, St. Mary Help of Christians stands as a beacon of warmth and community spirit. This historic parish not only offers a serene atmosphere for worship but also fosters a welcoming environment where visitors feel right at home. After services, congregants engage in friendly conversations, creating an inviting fellowship that truly embodies the essence of community.
The parish is very welcoming to visitors. The priest took time to welcome me after the service and all of the parishoners I stopped to chat with were very kind. They have an area for fellowship after services and a little shop to buy religious items in the building adjacent to the church. The shop was nice as it had quite a few pieces made in Italy rather than sourced from China.

Lovely dinner in a favorite downtown! Such a walkable downtown & this fine establishment was perfect! Loved the Lump Crab appetizer! Ribeye gorgeously red in middle to our order. Salmon special was delicious! We were able to relax after six hours on the holiday highway. Excellent choice!

We checked out the Prime Steakhouse. Hubby had been a couple of times with work. It was my first time. The portions were more than I was expecting. We were too full to check out the dessert menu, next time. 🍴 Sides: (special) carrots in cauliflower puree and mascarpone and pomme frites 🍴 Salmon 🍴 NY strip

Last Friday was our second time dining at Prime Steakhouse. This visit was to celebrate my beautiful wife's birthday. We both had the 8 oz filet mignon; mine was ordered medium and hers medium well. Both steaks were very good and cooked to our expectations. They came with mashed potatoes and onion rings that were also quite tasty. My wife also had a house salad that she loved and a Maryland crab cake that she'll eat tonight because the servings are a nice size and she ordered too much food... We also ordered a peanut butter chocolate pie to go that we devoured later and it was scrumptious. Our server, Ravyn, was excellent. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. And even though we ordered our dessert to go, she first brought it to the table with a Happy Birthday and a candle on it! Thanks Ravyn! Finally, the pricing. This is an expensive restaurant for our small town. I'm not complaining, and I knew that before we came here. When you order items beyond the entrees, it adds up quickly.

This hidden gem was what my husband and I needed for a night out. It reminded me of a cute, quaint, romantic spot in Birmingham. The hostess was very cordial as was the server. I will say she was the best in the place and we made sure to let her know when we left her a nice tip! She's a treasure! The food was absolutely delicious. I started off with the crab cake as an appetizer. My husband had calamari. We chose the filet mignon and cowboy ribeye with an added lobster tail for our entrees. Everything was seasoned to perfection. I had only one small issue which was that my steak came out warm instead of hot. I mentioned it to our server but declined sending it back. I declined because I didn’t want to wait and have my husband finish eating before I could eat and it was as seasoned so well until I just looked past that small detail. Other than my butter not melting on my steak, everything was absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to dine again!

Excellent in every way. The steak was amazing, the halibut was too. Service and atmosphere made for a wonderful dinner date with my wife.

The food was delicious. We ranged from Crab Cakes to 3 different types of steak. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The garlic mashed potatoes were also great. The only reason my overall rating is not higher, is the value. Pretty pricey when I have had food just as good, for half the cost.
Bruce B — Google review
Not sure how it was possible to split a dinner and still have a $200 tab. Could be an $18 split plate fee? (2nd plate had mashed potatoes with a hard crust from being under the warmer and 2 onion rings, we had to split our own steak at the table --a little awkward). We've talked for a while about trying out Prime as the owner advertises having his own cattle ranch. Coming from a family of butchers, I was excited for a great cut of beef. We split the 24 oz bone in cowboy steak and it was gristly and underdone. Our server Raven was fabulous and attentive. The wine list was very minimal and low quality. My husband's spinach was lukewarm. 4 tables on a Friday night and 4 servers, the bartender and plastic-aproned dishwasher all playing on their phones. We were very disappointed.

Sushi restaurant
TakoSushi is a delightful fusion restaurant that brings together the vibrant flavors of Mexican and Asian cuisine in a lively setting. This trendy spot caters to diners of all ages, offering an eclectic menu that features everything from creative sushi rolls to mouthwatering tacos. Guests can indulge in popular dishes like the spicy tuna roll or bulgogi beef taco while enjoying a refreshing specialty martini or boutique wine. The atmosphere is both inviting and energetic, making it an ideal escape from daily life.
TakoSushi offers a unique mix of Asian and Southwestern cuisine, and they do a great job! Plus there’s options for your whole party when you can’t choose between tacos or sushi. The Crazy Roll was fresh and flavorful, while the Chicken Pimento Cheese Taco had the perfect sweet and savory combination. The Three Amigos is an excellent appetizer with tasty salsa, queso, and guacamole that’s sure to please the whole table. Our server Kristen was fantastic and the place has cool ambiance for quick lunch or nice date with comfortable outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

I have been going here for years and the food and service have always been top notch. However, a visit this past Saturday was surprising when I was served an order of yellow tail and mackerel sashimi. I’m including a photo of the dish that was presented but should have never left the kitchen. I thought it was raw chicken and cat food. Our waitress was lovely, it was not her fault but we did learn that the regular sushi chef was on medical leave and whomever was covering had no idea what they were doing. I’ll be back again for sure but am gonna to wait a few months.

Went to Takosushi with high expectations. As a chef and culinary guru I expected taste as well as presentation to be on point. My initial order of grill salmon with sautéed veggies and beans.....Was a No Go!!! NO FLAVOR AND PLATED WITH FOOD NOT CENTERED....MESSY!!!! As Chef and Culinary Guru and Food Teste you just expect greatness at every spoonful at a place like Takosushi. 7/10 My second selection and recommendation from the hostess was a SMASHING HUT!!! THE POKIE BOWL WAS AMAZING 10/10 FOR SURE

Today my family and I wanted to try something new and we found this cute little place. The inside was clean and neat and when we walked in we were greeted with the friendliest smile from the hostess she was very nice and had great customer service. I didn't quite get her name but I think it was Ary. She wore a skirt and pigtails with bows 10/10 hostess. The inside looked clean and the whole staff were so welcoming. The food was amazing!!!!! I ordered a Greenville roll it was a 10/10 full compliments to the chef. I almost licked my plate clean lol. Overall this place not only has great customer service but good food and an amazing atmosphere. I 100% recommend going.

I will start with the good here, seaweed salad was very large and very good. Now for the bad, the salmon was horrible we got the nigiri, had the Augusta roll I would not get that again and my biggest complaint is having the minimum tip amount for the option was way above what I would normally tip. It was 20%. That's ridiculous for a minimum choice. I don't think we would come back here The food quality was just poor for the fish. The taco was fine.

A very nice place with great atmosphere. Service was amazing, our waitress Dee was fantastic. The big issue was the food. The sushi, even though it was good quality, it just wasn't made very well. It was like I made it for the 1st time. They were way to big, just too much rice. Even on the Japanese Bagel roll, the cream cheese pieces were way too big, so eating it tasted like biting into a block of cream cheese, where you couldn't taste the Salmon. Then my wife got the Filet Mignon tacos, but the meat was mostly fatty, and Gristlely. We told our waitress Dee, who brought it to the manager, who agreed and remade it for her. The new steak was better, but was not a Filet, but more sirloin. The Calamari was very tasty, and the dipping sauce was awesome. Our taquitos were really good too. They had a lot on neat and creative items on the menu, so I would probably try them again, but I would be a little suspect.

Went with a group of four and had the best time! Music was great, it felt amazing inside (when compared to outside humidity), and had wonderful service from Lexi. Definitely planning to make this a regular spot with my coworkers! Only downside was no steak and I was looking forward to the steak taco. Manager came by to explain the situation and provided excellent alternative options. The Blackened Fish Taco was great so thank you for the recommendation!!! All in all, five stars! Will definitely be back to hopefully get my steak tacos!

With its rich and bold flavors, Taj Aiken promises to satisfy all your cravings for authentic Indian cuisine.
This was my first trip to this restaurant and wow, they did not disappoint! My coworkers have gone here several times for lunch over the last few months and unfortunately I wasn’t able to join them. Fortunately though, was able to finally try it for myself. The outside of the building isn’t much to look at but the inside is a lovely surprise. The waitstaff were friendly and the food was delicious. The friends who joined me for dinner, eat here regularly so I know that I will be back!

Currently sitting at the table and I just can’t believe how nasty the food was. Very salty and an unpleasant sight to see. Our waitress was very rude I don’t know her name however if you decide to come here you can’t miss the disgusting attitude she has. I order the Veggie Chettinad, Husband had the Navratan Korma and my Parents order the Taj Biryani Deluxe. I’ve been here 3 times and this experience was horrible. Food was nasty uuugggghhhhh what a waste. Also our naan bread was burnt (sigh) the pictures speak for themselves. Our waitress came back at the very end to check to see how the food was after another waitress helped us and checked us out. My husband was the only one who enjoyed his food. We won’t be coming back.

I've experienced Taj a couple of time. My experiences have been consistence. I've gone when they are busy and moderately occupied. The acoustics was surprisingly friendly even when it's packed. The environment in terms of decor and service met my expectations. The dishes were par with my expectations in terms of aroma and flavor. Proportion was on the lighter side compare to my other experiences for the cost point. It's pretty much a monopoly in the market in the area.

My husband and I went to the restaurant because he wanted to try their food. The waiter didn't appear interested in ensuring we enjoyed the restaurant as a first time customer. We were not offered any refills on drinks nor the occasional "how is everything ". I felt as if I forced myself into someone home and asked for a plate of food. The service to other customers were great; however we did not receive the friendly gestures. My husband, whose is Caucasian, noticed the treatment was different for us and another African-American woman in restaurant. We will not be back needlessly to say.

I have not been back here in a while but this is definetly a spot I need to return again to. The atmosphere is very good and cozy. Lots of customers inside when I dined here. It was a impromptu stop in and I had not intended to eat here tonight. But suffice to say this is probably one of the best local restaurants I've ever tried. The food portions were generous and you could tell everything was prepared from scratch. This place is fine for dining solo or with a small group. The paneer and garlic naan I had was sublime and the medium spicy was not overpowering at all and just the right amount. 10/10 I'll be back.
Kevin M — Google review
Ordered take out. 2 chicken Tikka Marsala ask for mild heat and Garlic Naan. Chicken was super dry, tikka Marsala was too sweet, but garlic Naan was good. Flavor was just one note and tasted bland. I’ve had many of frozen tikka Marsala taste better. Really wished for better. Service was good and Atmosphere seemed nice while I was waiting to pay.

An awesome out of the way state park. Pictures of the park online do not do this place justice. Great campground with plenty of room in between campsites. Camp host does a fabulous job, keeping the park clean and the bathhouse immaculate. Will definitely come back to this place again. One of my favorite South Carolina state parks. Now. Only has one Hiking trail, but it is very beautiful.

This is our first camping trip with the family. We are having a nice time. Very Peaceful. Our campsite is nice but Im not a big fan of the sand. Overall price is good and it's a lovely place to spend quality time with family.
Rhonda A — Google review
We were in space #22 it was a pretty good spot as far as privacy the bathhouse was right across the way it was extremely hot in there when you took a shower you would still be sweating when you finished. The facilities are older but taken care of. The staff was very nice. The park has swimming and very nice picnic areas.
Tsue — Google review
Aiken State Park is fun for a day visit or overnight camping. Bring a kayak/canoe or rent one to take the kayak trail down the Edisto River. The cypress trees are beautiful. Enjoy fresh water from an artisan spring near the kayak launch. Hike a trail or two and then cool off in the small swimming area. No beach but some trees provide shade on the shore. I would recommend water shoes. There is a nice large porch near the park office with lounging chairs and checkers.
Tracy B — Google review
This park was serene when we visited in drizzle. There are several stocked lakes, picnic areas, a large children's play area with playground equipment, a hiking trail, camping, and access to the Edisto River with kayak and canoe rentals. Admission is only a few dollars per person.
Penny A — Google review
I am only reviewing the park trial and visiting center. My review does not include details of camp site, canoe drop site, fishing spots, or playground. When I arrived I went to the visitors center first. It was a small room, but staff was quick and polite. The road at the park is a one way circle. I enjoyed the drive around, it was a winding relaxing drive. They had a children's pond and then another pond with a swimming area. No pets are allowed in or around the swimming area. The campsite seemed well kept as I drove by. Now for the trial. This trail left much to be desired. Many parts of the trail were in the beginning stages of being overgrown. The trail also frequently waxed and weaned between narrow and wide. There was an occasional downed tree, but that can be overseen due to the recent weather. They were both dead trees. The website advices to bring insect repellent. I advise to reach into your grandpa's atic and find that 1960s deet. The mosquitos were no joke. If you walk the trial alone, don't worry you'll be accompanied by the constant buzz of insect the entire trail. Only my hands and face was exposed. Just rubbing my hands together, id kill at least one mosquito. If that wasn't enough there was about 1000ft of the marked trail that was ankle deep in flowing water. Pictures attached. Also once you reach the canoe drop site it's difficult to identify how to finish the loop. I ended up just walking the road back after back tracking a bit. The most enjoyable part of the trail was the artisan will at the canoe drop site. The water was crisp and cold. It was extremely soothing to my mosquito assaulted skin. It provided much relief compared to the rest of the hike. Overall I'll give this park a 3 out of 5 because there where many other amenities there to hold your attention. Unfortunately the trail just wasn't one of them

Recreation center
Smith-Hazel Recreation Center is a family-friendly destination located in downtown Aiken, offering affordable and enjoyable activities for visitors of all ages. The center features a clean and uncrowded pool with attentive teenage lifeguards, making it a safe environment for kids to have fun. Additionally, the presence of historic markers nearby adds an educational element to the experience. Visitors can also enjoy the availability of chairs and tables with umbrellas, although bringing personal seating is recommended due to limited availability.
Our Grandson came to visit and wanted to go swimming, decided to go to Smith Hazel and wow,it was a great experience! The staff and lifeguards were soo professional and courteous, KUDOS to all !!! We enjoyed the the pool for 3 days and will certainly be back next summer. Had the pleasure to meet several families and a lady that moved here from California, she was very friendly and excited as well, hopefully the entire grounds will be finished by next summer. Can't wait✨️

Staff are NOT friendly! The lady at the front desk accused my son of using someone else’s address, to gain access to the facility. We have lived in Aiken for 5 years, this year my son will attend school in Lexington County, which doesn’t start until August 4th. He explained that he attends school in Lexington which is why he’s not in school today and her first assumption was “he’s using someone else’s address “. City of Aiken hire people who are people and KID friendly.

My kids have been dying to play in this pool and they have yet been able too. Every time we go, they have it closed or immediately at full capacity. The staff at the insurance area to the pool are rude and do not care. This pool looks so amazing and fun, but I've never even been inside the gate. I managed to get there one time and it wasn't at full capacity and then they closed it for lunch about the time I got the car unloaded and sunscreen on my kids. When I say they do not care. They. Do not. Care
Nikki M — Google review
Very fun but the life guards were kind of mean except 2 the maybe 7 the and only those two skilled and everything but other than that it was fun.
Sierra W — Google review
You can rent the pool for family events. This picture is old. They have vastly reduced the size of the pool. They put in a slide but have since taken it down. They added a splash pad so now it is only fit for children 8 years or younger. My teens no longer want to go so we will be going to the Aiken recreational pool for now on. I have never given one star but I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to make the pool smaller.
Erria D — Google review
I was looking for something cheap or free to do with my daughter and found this place. 2 dollars for kids. The hours are decent. The pool is clean not overly crowded. The teenage life guards are actually very nice and attentive with the kids. No wild crazy kids either, they all played nice. Highly recommend this park. They also have chairs and tables with umbrellas but not a lot so you might want to bring your own chair. This place would be perfect if they sold snacks like chips and juices.

Don’t play during Masters Week as it is extremely overpriced and they have no rain checks or refunds for hazardous weather. The course is super old school and had a great vibe but for $175 during masters week, this is not worth it. At best is a $50-$75. Also when torrential rains came and the greens became flooded, the pro shop just shrugged their shoulders and had no answer. Sounds like taking advantage of out of town guests. However if u have good weather and it’s around $50 Bucks or so then it’s a good play.

Amazing experience to say the least! What a wonderful experience. miss this public golf course if you're in the area! for a course under 6,000 from the tips, it can really bite you! The train tracks adjacent to the course were so unique. sometimes they felt 50 ft below me and other times 50 ft above me! it was a fun walk The stone and rock accents around the course where all great touches to this truly historic course! I would highly recommend it to anyone and I certainly will be back next time I'm in the area. kudos to everyone involved here! What a treat
Noel H — Google review
What Aiken Golf Club lacks in conditioning...it more than makes up for in character. There is serious movement in the land and the narrow fairways and greens are a substantial defense against the lack of distance. You will not be blown away by the presentation of the course...but you WILL remember your round...and that makes it worth it.
Mark D — Google review
This course is over 100 years old and has some cool history. It’s not the longest course, but it’s fun. 4 beers for $10 cash is a steal too. Fore!!!

Beautiful Donald Ross design. Short but challenging. Pace of play was right at four hours in the middle of the day on a Saturday. Loved the Pinehurst like waste areas, tough to read greens and challenging decisions on nearly every hole. Great experience!
Brandon P — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of playing The Aiken Golf Club and it was one of those rounds where you leave the property genuinely impressed. This is not your typical modern, cookie-cutter layout — it’s a living piece of golf history with charm and character on every hole. Arrival & Atmosphere Tucked just off downtown Aiken, the club has an unpretentious, old-world feel from the moment you drive in. There’s no sprawling gatehouse or over-the-top entry; instead, you get a warm welcome and a sense that you’ve stepped into a classic, member-friendly club. Staff in the pro shop were genuinely hospitable, sharing stories about the course’s history and even suggesting a few insider tips for first-time visitors. Course Layout & Conditions The course itself is a gem — one of the oldest in the South, and it shows its age in the best way possible. The routing uses the land brilliantly: rolling fairways, natural elevation changes, and small, tricky greens that demand precision. It’s walkable and compact, but never feels cramped. You’ll see creative hole designs you don’t find on newer courses — cross bunkers, diagonal fairways, and risk-reward par 4s that keep you thinking. Conditions are excellent given the modest green fees. Fairways were lush and firm, tee boxes level, and the greens were smooth with subtle breaks that can fool you if you don’t pay attention. You get the sense that the superintendent and his crew care deeply about maintaining a classic course feel rather than chasing uniformity. Practice & Clubhouse The practice facilities are in keeping with the club’s historic vibe — not overly flashy but perfectly adequate. There’s a small range for loosening up and a putting green that rolls true to the on-course speeds. The clubhouse is cozy and filled with memorabilia, old photos, and a sense of continuity. The grill inside serves classic sandwiches and cold drinks, and there’s a small porch where you can watch groups finish on the 18th. Overall Experience What really stands out at The Aiken Golf Club is how authentic it feels. There’s no pretense, no gimmicks — just a historic course offering a fun, strategic test at a very fair price. It’s the kind of place where you’ll see groups walking, carrying their own bags, and actually enjoying the architecture rather than just the scorecard length. Final Thoughts If you appreciate classic golf design, walkable layouts, and clubs with real history, The Aiken Golf Club is a must-play. It’s a throwback in the best sense of the word — affordable, welcoming, and full of character. Whether you’re a local or just passing through the Aiken/Augusta area, make time for a round here. You’ll leave with a smile, a few stories, and a renewed appreciation for golden-age golf.

Played this course today for the first time. I can’t believe I waited this long. Absolutely wonderful course. As of now, it is in very good condition, including greens. This is an old and historic course and it has that feel in a very good way. Clubhouse is very nice and accommodating. The locker room is old school and well kept and clean, wooden lockers, etc. A lovely feel in what is pretty much downtown Aiken. The course itself is considered short, yet challenging, and has high reviews everywhere I looked. I absolutely love it and plan to play there once or twice a week from now on. It is as close to a links course as I have ever seen in the US. Lots of waste areas and bunkers, as well as needing to strategically play it or you can be in trouble. It is challenging and length off the tee is less important than accuracy. But you can also lose your ball pretty easily if you are as bad as I am, LOL. It is a public course with membership options and very reasonably priced. Anyone coming to or through Aiken who loves golf would probably be thrilled they could play this one. A lot of great history and a lot of character. Great course.

Best overall experience we've had traveling so far ever! We stayed in the Hitchcock suite. Loved our room so much we ordered room service stayed in it for 2/3 of our visit. 🥰 Food was perfection EVERY meal. Portions and flavors on point. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert the small details are what make this place outstanding. Free games for families to play. Bar and live jazz music on Thursdays. The clientele are friendly and pleasant, most likely because the experience overall is such a genuine southern hospitality ambiance. Definitely want to come back to stay again!

My daughters 25 & 23 tried throwing a party for me for my 50th. The service was great, the food was great, but my kids were not set up for success by the event coordinator, Kathryn. Poor communication skills and only called us once after at least 5-10 emails, and multiple calls to basically every department at Willcox with no return call. Every email had a phone number attached. I spoke with her personally and she denied communicating with my young adults and put the blame on them . That’s not right. In the future, I would not host here. They definitely need help in event coordinating department. I saw her in Willcox that night and she never checked in on the party. Isn’t that the coordinator’s job? Anyway, on a good note. Matt called the following day and apologized to my daughters. Hats off to Matt, because she never called.

If you're ever in the mood for a truly great burger, you've got to go see Jess. My burger 🍔 was cooked perfectly. She put a lot of care and effort in to preparing it and I truly appreciate it. I'm still thinking about how great it was. 😁😋

First trip here was in 1968. Chili dogs as good now as they were then.

Love the burgers here. They are homemade. Not frozen from a box. I was a little surprised when I found out that they don't come with a side. Everything is a-la-carte. That's the only reason for 4 stars. I did try one of my husbands onion rings and they were quite good. I'm not sure if they're fresh, but they are a whole onion ring. Not some chopped up what-not that's onion-wanna-be. 🙂 The service was quick and the place is clean. Looking forward to returning for yet another tasty burger.

Friendly staff, good beer special, good burger! We had a single cheese burger with tots and a double cheeseburger with fries. Both good!

This was my first visit to City Billiards, although my lovely wife has been there before and recommended it. Pretty quiet at 3:00 on a Monday afternoon but I'll bet things pick up a lot in the evening. I had the Philly Cheesesteak and it was excellent. Ditto for the onion rings. Caroline had the Club Sandwich with French fries and said they were delicious! I look forward to returning so I can try their Best Cheeseburger You'll Ever Eat!

First time visiting for me. Sat at the corner of the bar with a great view of multiple TVs and the grill. Immediately met by a friendly server who quickly brought my requested PBR. I knew I was there for a cheeseburger and ordered the “double” with a side of onion rings. As I watched the two, hand portioned balls of ground meat hit the grill I thought there was a possibility that my eyes were larger than my stomach. The burger arrived a perfect medium and the onion rings were so hot that I could barely handle them! Everything was cooked to perfection and proved the saying on the staff’s shirts. “Best Cheeseburger in town!” There were no leftovers! Friendly, locals kind of place. Highly recommended and I’ll definitely be back!

We certainly did not have the experience we were expecting based on reviews. We sat down with one other 3 top in the entire place. We were a party of 4. The server immediately gave the vibe that she was annoyed we were there. It was 1904, they close at 2000. We ordered and waited. And waited and waited. The food arrived at 1957. Nearly an hour later for 3 burgers and a sandwich!! My food disappointment began with the sad serving of crinkle cut French fries. A recent review said the fries were hand cut. They aren’t. But I like crinkle cut… I just don’t like crinkle cut pieces! There wasn’t as evidenced by my pic, a single fry over 2” long. Fries don’t come with burgers- they are extra. My next disappointment ( along with the rest of the table) was the small burgers and completely unseasoned meat. Not a drop of salt. Blandest burger ever. Mine was supposed to have Gouda, a fried green tomato and remoulade . The tomato was the butt end, sliced super thin and tiny. There wasn’t any discernible remoulade and I looked. Oh haha almost forgot the grilled onions because like everything else it was virtually non-existent. I paid about $20 for that plus a generous 20% tip for lackluster service. The atmosphere was fine and the place looked clean. Someone else in our party ordered chili cheese fries that should have just been called chili fries . The cheese was a mere pathetic sprinkle. There won’t be a return visit for us.
Lisa H — Google review
They really do have the best burger in town. They are not a performed patty but an actual smashed burger. The homemade chips are good to. And they have really good fried green tomatoes The prices on this site are wrong as they have gone up but what hasn't these days? It is still a good value for your money. I can't wait to eat there again.

Day 5

Keep it simple

Water park
Richardson's Lake Water Park, located just outside of Aiken, offers a perfect outdoor getaway for families and friends. The park features a sandy beach, water slides, diving boards, volleyball courts, and a snack bar. It's an ideal spot for both adults and children to enjoy some fun in the sun. The park also provides picnic areas for gatherings and birthday parties with grills available.
Place is awesome. I took my family for a fun day and it turned out to be a great place. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The slide and diving board was so much fun. You can rent all sorts of tubes and goggles. Buy snacks and drinks. When we first arrived my son was so excited to get in. I went in after him as all dads do to make sure it was safe and he was comfortable. I followed him up the dining board and forgot to take my glasses off and my necklace. I jumped in and both were gone when i resurfaced. The staff were so help and jumped in to find my belongings. I was so impressed by the way they handled the situation. Everything was found and believe my this part of the lake was 12ft deep. Took about a hour. Thank you

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place.!!! Workers are always great.! Especially the lady that you pay to get in (& I totally forgot her name now that I'm writing this, sorry.!!) Prices are absolutely reasonable for entry & for food. Great place to take the kids or even just go with other adults, even by yourself.!!!

Nice place to go and cool off on hot days! Staff was very polite and helpful! Water was nice and clean and the slides/diving boards were fun! They also played great music throughout the time visiting! Will be back again

I have passed by this place for a couple of years and always wanted to check it out. My husband decided to bring our family here for a Sunday outing today. I can't believe we waited so long to visit. The staff was friendly. They offer military pricing and the overall cost is extremely affordable. I don't remember the last place we went as a group of 8 and spent under $60 to get in. The food is also priced very reasonable and they have a simple yet wide variety of options. There is something to do for every age group. This place had a nostalgic vibe for my husband and I. Nothing fancy, just affordable good family fun. Can't wait to come back.
Hailey R — Google review
We love this place. Of course, it’s old and has a strong 80s vibe, but the experience is hard to find anywhere else around here! Concessions are reasonably priced. Management was friendly and helped keep an eye on swimmer safety, as well as the life guards on duty. When I called in advance to ask about water quality, I was reassured that this natural spring sourced lake is partially drained and refilled each year, and DHEC regulated, with water quality tested every 2 weeks.
Lindsey B — Google review
Came here as a kid, and still love this place years later. Love the friendly atmosphere and attentiveness to swimmers young and old. A super underrated gem!
Raygan W — Google review
Great time, good place for kids.

This place is definitely a hidden gem! And it is wheelchair accessible we were able to get the wheelchair very close to the lake to put our son in a float he definitely loved the water and the staff are sooo friendly and very helpful! Definitely will be visiting again before heading back home to Texas!!!

We had an awesome tour on Saturday of Aiken's history and highlights with Hampton. He made sure we were all safe and comfortable on our bikes and was a wealth of information on many topics! So glad we were able to get reservations on such short notice. Hampton made it happen and the tour was the best part of our trip!

Had a full service done on my bike at Pedego Electric Bikes Aiken. The staff was outstanding, they explained and made recommendations for things I should do on my bike. They were fair on their prices and was quick to get my Bike back to me within a day. I would highly recommend Pedego for all your bicycle needs.

Definitely not the local business I remember. Since some employees have changed out they Definitely have changed. New mechanic is not very nice. I never leave reviews. But I have never experienced such unprofessional conduct in a place of business. I recommend you spend some money and get a technician that does not have an attitude problem.

Defective equipment, under warranty. Still charged for replacement. Buy American E Bike from a company who stands by their product.

Indoor playground
Had a party for a 1 year old. Nice party room and decorations. Fun play area dor the older kids. They should better enforce booties or socks for the adults, some were there with shoes on.
Stephanie R — Google review
Our first time going to Playland of Aiken in Aiken South Carolina. We went on a Saturday it was extremely busy. Two birthday parties going on at the same time everyone else is playing , a week day might be better to attend. Lots for little ones to have fun with. Out daught is 5 and really like it . Would recommend.
Tai S — Google review
Savanah was great with customer service - I called before my visit because the space was new to me. They offer military discount and initially was about $12 for one 3 year old and two adults. My daughter had a blast in the indoor play space but there is also an outdoor option as well. There is a lot for the little ones to engage in. There is also a smaller section to the right for the infants. Everyone should wear socks but they also offer shoe covers for adults. It's just an overall good space for a short fun activity day.
ELj A — Google review
We love bringing our kids here! So fun, great price. Everything is very clean, they have food and snacks and COFFEE! The owner and staff are very kind. Great customer service. They also have great bday packages!
Eliezer R — Google review
The kids enjoyed the party and the facility was great. The problem was with communication. After receiving an email with a quoted price, I thought there was an error and called to clarify. During that call, and again when I called later to pay the deposit, staff told me a lower price. On the day of the party, I was told that information was wrong and had to pay $200 more than expected. When I contacted Roman, the owner, afterward, I was told there were no records of those calls and was given no apology or acknowledgment of the misunderstanding. Now the owner is claiming that I didn't reach out. I did, twice. And I raised concerns on the day of the party also. Because I already had guests on the way, I felt pressured to pay the $200 more than I was expecting. The owner just doesn't want to take accountability for his employees actions.
Amy A — Google review
I brought my two year old son here today and we had a blast! The staff is super friendly, the play equipment is super clean. My son had so much fun being able to run around freely and have so much to do. We will definitely be returning!
Logan W — Google review
Plenty of things to do for the little ones. Very entertaining. The staff is amazing and it is nice and cool in the building
Adam S — Google review
The kids up front taking payment (specifically a young boy with dark hair) definitely didn’t know what he was doing, which is fine he’s young but I feel like they should be better trained before accusing people of not paying (when he took our payment) definitely makes me not wanna go back. I then asked for 3 forks (we had a bday party) I accidentally dropped 3 and needed new ones, he told me “um go over there and someone will help you” no one helped me . Definitely NOT worth the price for a party that’s for sure.

Interesting place to visit to learn more about thoroughbred racing, winning horses, and the culture of racing. Saw the Christmas lights of Hopelands Gardens, our primary reason for this brief evening visit. Always a wonderful place to stroll and enjoy nature in any season.
Gregory S — Google review
The museum is small and the attendant or guide was not able to tell me which or if any Aiken trained horses had ever won the Kentucky Derby...Three stars for the life sized painted horses out front and racing colors painted on the building.
The C — Google review
We came because we had seen one of the "painted horses" as we were going down Whiskey Road. We had nicknamed her "Maggie" because of the magnolias painted on her! We were sad that the museum was closed BUT Lisa came up and while she was waiting for someone to come she let us in!! What a glorious time we horse lovers had! The pictures, trophies and atmosphere were beyond description! The GREATEST part of the visit was our interaction with Lisa! She shared so much information and personal history with us! It was awesome that she's been there since she was 5! That's 60 years of memories! We could have stayed for hours!! My sister got Lisa's book and our family will be sharing it!! This will be one of our most treasured memories in our lives! THANK YOU for having the museum! MORE IMPORTANTLY THANK YOU LISA FOR YOUR LOVE OF THE MUSEUM AND THE HORSES, PEOPLE AND HISTORY YOU SHARED!!!
Verna S — Google review
I enjoyed my experience here. I learned a lot about horses and the culture of horseracing. There are a lot of exhibits and timelines to read about. And the museum is located within the beautiful Hopeland gardens. Come with time to walk and explore the grounds!

Good history museum of the history of Aiken and horse racing. Quality place to visit if you are just driving through.
Henry M — Google review
I came to Aiken to visit my father and he took us here and I loved it! We didn't come at the best time of year to see the full potential of all the different plants and flowers, although it was still a wonderful experience. The ponds were cloudy but I think that's just due to the season, and some areas were closed. I hope to come back to visit again maybe in a different time of year, the place was so beautiful, I definitely want to see it again.
Kacy B — Google review
It was our first visit to Aiken due to our newly married daughter and husband lives there now. Aiken is a lovely quaint place and I did not know this is "horse country"! The museum was very nice inside and out and also has decorated winning thoroughbreds history, statues, and pictures of beautiful horses. There are beautiful grounds to walk around with fish ponds and bridges too. Nice place to picnic and the people are friendly. Aiken is a well kept city with a comfortable downtown to stroll around.

Park
Aiken Library Park, located at 355 York Street SE in Aiken, SC, offers a handicap accessible playground system suitable for children aged 2-12. The park features a semi-fenced gazebo, picnic tables, benches, and a grill. Visitors appreciate the park's suitability for young children to play independently on ramps and slides. Some suggest adding lights for evening visits during winter when it gets dark early.
Love this park, my boys had so so much fun! I love the turf they put down on top of that rubber cement stuff. Makes landing a lot softer when kiddos have an accident! Clean and nice
Sara T — Google review
Clean not to crowded my son loved it
Rodney H — Google review
This park is perfect for my 13 month old. She loves being able to run up and down the ramps on her own and going down the slides. If you are looking for a great park for really young kiddos, then this playground is perfect. My only complaint is that I wish there were lights around it for when it gets dark. During winter, it gets dark so soon and we still would like to be able to run around a little bit before bed time.

Asian fusion restaurant
AnShu Asian Cafe may appear unassuming from the outside, but once inside, it reveals a contemporary and well-designed space perfect for enjoying a variety of Asian cuisines. The menu offers a diverse range of dishes inspired by Korean, Chinese, and Thai flavors. The presentation of each dish is exquisite, and the flavors are delightful. Some recommended dishes include the Curry Chicken, salt and pepper chicken served with Meifun rice noodles on a bed of green vegetables infused with garlic.
We've been to AnShu several times, but this is my first review after last night's dinner. It's a very nice and attractive restaurant, with multiple rooms, and it's larger than it appears from outside. I started with the hot & sour soup and it was excellent. For my entree I had Sweet and Sour Chicken with fried rice. Delicious - possibly the best I've had. My lovely wife had fried shrimp with chicken and just considered it ok, a little bland. Her beautiful daughter enjoyed shrimp rolls, and then had the MooShu dinner with tofu and said everything was very good. Our server, Trey?, was friendly and quick with everything we ordered. Finally, we shared a chocolate cake. I'm sorry I forgot to take a picture, but it looked so absolutely scrumptious that we devoured it immediately!

Really nice place! Andrew provided excellent service. The lunch prices were very reasonable and the portions were good. The garlic green beans are a necessity… We also got the appetizer sampler, chicken curry, shrimp fried rice and everything was delicious.

Man o man has this placed changed since our last visit. The service was very good and the restaurant was very clean, but the food.....you got to be kidding. Both of our dished looked identical yet we were assured they were not the same. ( However the server did say they actually have to ask which is which so as to serve the correct dish to the right person.) Both dishes were soaked in a sauce not splashed and it made it very difficult to eat, Our last couple of visits were totally different than this one and we will steer away and go elsewhere in the future. PS: The server was excellent by the way !!

Update: plenty of food for the price. Upscale Chinese. We (I and my now-husband) had a wonderful experience hosting our wedding reception here. The owner was more than willing to help us plan seating arrangements and the food to serve to our guests (25 total). I had friends and family members who are vegan; this restaurant offers vegan and vegetarian options. They are very accommodating to any food allergies and vegan/vegetarians dishes. They won't lie about the ingredients. I really want to thank our waiter (I wish I remember his name..); we only had him to serve the 25 of us. Plus, it was an unexpected busy Friday night when Roma's closed for no reason that added the influx of people. FYI - all the staff wore mask per required. Finally, thank you for allowing us to have our wedding reception here at AnShu's. We are very grateful especially when it was right before CDC loosen up it's mandate.
Shanna — Google review
We did have to wait quite a bit but that was because they were extremely busy due to the Woodside Fireworks Show going on that night and the other female server seated two other groups that came in after us who also did not make reservations — John noticed what happened and made sure that our party of four was next to be seated. Note: The other server didn't acknowledge us or even give us an estimated wait during the approximately 45 minutes we stood at the front. Overall excellent service from John, he was so nice to all of us — he even asked everyone at our table for their names. He transformed our experience to a very pleasurable one! His professionalism and kindness meant a lot to all of us. The food was very fresh, and came to us in a reasonable time despite how busy they were! They have an appetizer on their menu that gives you 2 of each of the asterisked appetizers, all four of them were amazing. My wife and I opted for the Mixed Veggies, White Rice, and brown sauce (Beef / Shrimp) and loved it! Our friends tried the Lo Mein and enjoyed it as well! Once again, thank you so much John for the awesome experience and we can't wait to come back and see you!

Maria's Mexican Restaurant is a delightful spot that truly excels in providing an exceptional dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with prompt service and a warm atmosphere. Guests rave about the quick turnaround from ordering to enjoying their meals, often within just ten minutes! The menu features fresh and flavorful dishes like Pollo Fundido and beach enchiladas, complemented by complimentary tortilla chips served with salsa and queso.
Visiting Aiken from Canada and at Maria’s three times with various guest sizes, I also have quite a few food intolerances and the food was incredible without upsetting my body. The customer was great - and I’ll be thinking of the Chile Verde till next year’s visit.

Visiting from out of town, and a friend brought us here. Busy place, be patient with the host and servers as they are running around. The food was very good, some of the best I’ve had. They start you off with chips, salsa and queso sauce, for dinner I had the El Paso, from their favorites section. Prices are good, and parking is easy.

I have gone to this restaurant for many years and the service has always been hit-or-miss but lately it has gone downhill significantly. There are increasingly longer waits for service, which would be understandable if it were busy, but I can wait an hour or more for the check on a slow night. The food is always good. They never seem to run the air conditioner. Edit: 9/07/2025 I have tried going back a few times recently since my last review 4 months ago and things have gotten worse. I went back on 9/5/2025 and had terrible service and it was sweltering inside and only seemed to get worse over time. The food was good but after our initial order nobody checked on us for a long time, again. When my party was ready for the check we waited over 30 minutes to get someone's attention to bring us the bill. After we asked the lady who buses the tables to speak to Maria (since apparently nobody else was going to bother serving us), her son Andrew brought us the checks but did not cash us out. We flagged Maria down and she asked if there was a problem, and I tried to explain to her that the air conditioning was bad and also that it has been an issue for a long time that our servers always disappear from us and she walked off while I was talking to her. It took another 20 or 30 minutes before she bothered cashing us out, while she was cashing other people out while knowing we had been waiting a long time. I will never go back.

This restaurant has boosted their prices so high you might as well go to Longhorn or another fine dining establishment. The food has no seasoning, the steak is not top quality, and the fajitas is 80% onions and green peppers and 20% meat. Very dissatisfied experience. There are far better Mexican restaurants in town.

I had the pork chile verde, which was very tasty, nice tender chunks of pork. My husband had the beef taquitos which he said weren’t very good. Margaritas were good.

Great food. The server was a little delayed in service. Our first time eating here. We will go back.

Pizza restaurant
Marco's Pizza is a delightful counter-serve chain that specializes in both custom and specialty pizzas, perfect for takeout or delivery. Many fans rave about the thin crust, flavorful toppings, and rich sauce that make each bite a treat. While there can be occasional hiccups with order timing, the friendly staff are always ready to assist you in choosing from their extensive menu. The dining area may have its quirks—like some clutter—but it offers a cozy atmosphere for pizza lovers.
My boyfriend and I ate half of it within 10 minutes of being home. It was incredibly delicious, cheesy, and had a perfect crust. This Marco’s never disappoints!

If you want good customer service don't go here. If that doesn't matter, the pizza was very good. The young lady at the pick up window was sitting on a stool and also using her vape right at the window. I thought maybe she had an injury or something and that's why she was sitting but she got up and got my pizzas after I waited in the pick up line for 25 min.

Typically, we absolutely love, Marcos Pizza. We love the thin crust, and the toppings and the sauce are always incredible. Except for today, I was absolutely shocked. I placed an order online to pick up like an hour later. Up a little bit early and they had not started it yet, which was fine. But the guy at the register, I watched him handling cash with a customer right in front of me, Answering the telephone, then he said we’ll get started on your pizza right now. I watched him walk back, Open the refrigerator to get the dough out. Did not put on a pair of gloves.!!!!!! His coworker back there, hat on gloves. But he made my entire Pizza with his bare hands. I walked up to the counter to look I thought maybe he had on some of the opaque gloves rather than the black ones but no, he was barehanded. The gentleman wearing the clothes asked if I needed anything and I said no I was just looking to make sure that guy was actually not wearing gloves. So much for his “clean safe” training

Great pizza. We like to order a regular pizza and a crustless pizza. We enjoy the Upside discount which is significant. The dining area is very quiet albeit a little cluttered with boxes of napkins and stuff. The people were very friendly and helped us with the options. We like this place and when you crave pizza, Marco's satisfies that 'gotta have it'!

I haven't ordered from this location in years bc of the service and the food quality. Today I gave it a second try and I'm livid! I will never ever again order from aiken Marco's again. First off they canceled my order through grubhub with no explanation. So we sat here waiting for an hour on food that wasn't coming. Then I reordered and when we got it the food was friggin cold and nasty. We also paid extra for thick crust on one of the pizzas and it most def wasn't thick crust. Y'all need to get your crew in check! And who ever is shift lead or whatever... this is on you.

I got a pizza today and it was sooooo greasy. The juice was all on my seat on the car. The entire bottom of the box was soaking wet from grease and I had to literally get paper towel to get the grease off the pizza before I ate it. It’s regulus. Never experience. It was only one car there so I’m guessing the guy was the only one working. He was nice but the pizza was bushy too greasy. Won’t be going back because last time I went a fly flew out the box when I opened it. The pizza is usually good but at this point it’s just people working that just don’t care.

Had to update my review after repeated messed up orders. Center topped pizzas, wrong cuts. My cut triangle pizza that I just picked up, is in about 25 pieces, because they cut it square and then triangle as well. Should be fun to try to eat all the tiny pieces. Can't do survey online because it doesn't load the website. Asked for the DM to contact me about messed up orders and can't get a reply. Needs a new manager who cares more about Marco's Pizza and their reputation as the best pizza in America.

Nestled in a charming juke joint atmosphere, Harry's Local Bar & Restaurant is a delightful destination for food lovers. With its rustic decor featuring beer signs and graffiti, it exudes a cozy vibe reminiscent of classic seaside seafood houses. The menu boasts an array of delicious offerings, including mouthwatering prime rib and fried oysters at great prices. Guests rave about the friendly and efficient staff who enhance the experience with exceptional service—like surprising diners with a "Flight of Whites" to complement their meals.
Good food, great service! Atmosphere is small town bar feel! Most menu items are market price and like everything else market price is on the pricey side! But all in all it was good! Prime Rib and Ribeye Sandwich

When you really loved the "white" sauce that you used with the Garlic Steak Bites on your last visit... and the waitress comes back with a "Flight of Whites"... that is awesome customer service! And the Steak Bites are DELICIOUS!!

Great food and value. We had 12 raw oysters, 2 glasses of wine an enormous prime rib and a fried oyster plate for 59 bucks. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The decor is a bit rustic. It's sort of like an old seafood house down by the beach, like they used to be. Get there early if you want to avoid the bar crowd and take advantage of the happy hour appetizer specials (such as the .75c oysters we had tonight).

Ok..... Harry's local bar and restaurant...so it didn't brake long after I sat down to get a menu and and a drink.... which is big for me. I had the popcorn shrimp and fries with a bud light. Shrimp was cooked just right. Had a crunch and actually had shrimp inside the breading! Fries were pretty good too. Afterwards, I was able to have a couple of Jamison's at the bar. Their harder stuff is a little limited, but I think they have the basics down. They did have Jamison, so I can't complain. Outdoor seating was pretty busy after 10 p.m. on a Saturday night, so i stayed in the bar...lol. Staff was super friendly and made time for me even though they were as busy as they were. Great place to come and eat and have a few drinks with friends, or just chill at the bar. Highly recommend this place and I'll definitely be back very soon......like next week....lol. Nice job.
