Broken Hill in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Broken Hill, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Broken Hill is an outback mining city known for its dramatic desert landscapes, historic architecture, and deep ties to Australia’s mining heritage. Visitors can explore old mine sites and museums, including the Line of Lode Miner’s Memorial, which overlooks the town. The area is also recognised for its thriving arts scene, with numerous galleries and the nearby Living Desert sculptures set against striking red-earth scenery. Its clear, dry skies and remote setting make it a popular base for stargazing and road trips into the wider outback.
With favorites like Mundi Mundi Lookout, Silver City Mint & Art Centre, and Broken Hill Visitor Information Centre, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like S-Que Restaurant & Takeaway and Masallas so you can get the best taste of Broken Hill while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Immerse yourself in the stunning outback scenery and experience the breathtaking sunset over Broken Hill at the Broken Hill Tourist Park. Located near the Living Desert Sculptures, this park offers a glimpse of the 1993 public art project featuring 12 sandstone sculptures from artists around the world. The town itself exudes classic outback charm with its heritage, art, and warm hospitality. The discovery of rich mineral deposits in this region has played a significant role in Australia's history.
This was our first experience at a caravan park with our new caravan. We stayed at one of the ensuite sites and it far exceeded our expectations and has set the standard for caravan parks going forward for the rest of our lap. The amenities all appear to be recently renovated and the little details such as fresh bark for the sites was helpful as we've been staying off grid for the past week and it was a nice place to reset. The staff are all friendly and accommodating, there are events on a daily basis which we participated in and met other guests. The park itself is well located and only a couple of minutes to the centre of town.

We got a 2 bed cabin for 4 nights. It was fine for us and our 2 greyhounds. Check-in was quick, friendly & efficient, the rooms were clean. A minor whinge was that the cooking utensils & pots were limited and the kitchenette space was small. Fine for 1 or 2 nights, but if we stayed longer in future we would get a 3 bed cabin.

Great powered camping sites, with no issues getting the tent pegs in. The spots near the laundry were nice and quiet, the spots at the back near the camp kitchen were noisier being near the highway and a business with dog protection at night, and early morning rooster. The bathrooms were top notch. The kids play areas were amazing. Our kids didn't want to leave. We also enjoyed the shared fire pit area. The camp kitchen was indoors and amazing, with outdoor BBQ. The service desk was the most friendly we've used.
Michelle P — Google review
Fantastic park! The facilities are modern, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained. We stayed at an ensuite site that was not only brand new but also incredibly spacious. The camp kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and the laundry facilities are top-notch with plenty of machines available. Highly recommend this place!

Top spot. Love its location in town. Great staff, easy checkin. The messages and hospitality just grand. Some awesome new amenities too. I've stayed here three times. After 1200km on road its perfect. Trust me, top spot.

Absolute loved it, the service from John and his team were sensational, myself and brother in law got to broken hill well after 10pm, couldn’t find anywhere to stay, I called John and he came from his place to get us a cabin, absolute legend. The service here is amazing. Thanks heaps to John and his team at the Broken Hill tourists park.

We had a non power and powered site. staff had us close together with our friends. Camp kitchen great as we were in roof top tents and it was wet. Best shower/ shower set up. A bit of a walk into town but doable. Would stay again. Thanks guys.

Stayed here 4 days seeing the sights of Broken Hill & surrounds. Really well maintained caravan park - you can feel the care & pride of the owners. Excellent, new amenities block (best showers at a campground ever!!), regular info about park & local activities & safety tips. Daily food vans, sausage sizzles, pancake day etc.

Westside Plaza is a popular shopping center that offers a wide range of amenities. Although it is generally deemed to be a good place for shopping, some visitors may find it inconvenient when certain shops are closed on Sundays. However, the plaza does have various stores available, including a chemist and Woolworths. Additionally, there is also a butcher and several other shops within the premises. Many people enjoy visiting the plaza as they often encounter old friends and appreciate the affordable prices at Best n Less.
Good under shade parking, great variety of shops and a fantastic shopping centre.

Bell's Milk Bar, Australia's oldest milk bar, is a beloved icon of Broken Hill culture. Originally a small candy store in 1892, it retains its charming 1950s American-style diner atmosphere. With over 50 traditional milkshake and soda spider flavors, as well as an array of delectable desserts, it's a paradise for those with a sweet tooth. Families will appreciate the kid-friendly menu and nostalgic decor.
An Absolute Gem in Broken Hill! What a nostalgic and fun place — I absolutely loved it here! As someone who appreciates a good old-fashioned milkshake, this spot hit all the right notes. I had the banana shake and a classic hotdog, and both were spot-on. The shake was thick, flavourful, and exactly how it should be — they really know what they’re doing. The vibe is like stepping straight into the 50s or 60s, complete with a fantastic little museum tucked away in the back. It’s such a cool experience for families, couples, or anyone just chasing a sweet moment of retro joy. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there — which makes all the difference. I even saw them give a little ice cream treat to a customer’s dog, which was such a sweet touch! Would love to see a milkshake sampler tray added to the menu — there are so many flavours I want to try. But either way, I’ll be back for more. Don’t miss this spot when you’re in Broken Hill. It’s an experience. — Alex from Perth

Friendly service and I was surprised there's a museum at the back. I hope they advertise that a little bit more. It was very interesting. The ice cream I had was delicious full of peanut butter.. but very icy. I think probably there was a bit of misstep in its preparation. My friends enjoyed their milkshakes and their homemade flavours, though I still feel it was.. just artificial style flavours. Interesting disco Dinner vibe.
Anthony G — Google review
It's a retro milkbar. Good milkshakes. No thick shakes on Sunday? Great hot chips. The museum is free and worth a wander through as you go to the dunny (toilet).
Greg M — Google review
We arrived shortly before closing, but were happily seated in the booth section. We both loved the 50's vibe. Staff was dressed in old school outfit which gave us a 'Back to the future' feel. We'll definately return!
Gesine K — Google review
A 50s style milk bar with milkshakes, spiders, waffles and burger-type food. It doesnt appear that the decor has changed much since the actual 50s, so it feels a bit grimy. However, the waffles were fresh and tasty, and the flat white was good but not great. But by far the biggest downer is the lack of relevancy in some of the wall art - images that should have been removed long before now (see pix).
Matthew T — Google review
Wow, great place, amazingly you walk in and take a step back in time. We had amazing food. I had the waffles with banana, 10/10.
Nicole A — Google review
A must do if in this town. Great flashback to the 50s worth the decor, milkshakes amd the customer service
Linda W — Google review
Talk about stepping back on time....to actually a better time. Reminded me of my upbringing, the furniture, furnishings, the authentic milk bar keeper - fantastic milkshakes and hot dogs that took me back. An absolute must see, must visit!

The Broken Hill Visitor Information Centre is a great starting point for exploring the city. Located near the Sulphide Street Mineral and Train Museum, it offers valuable resources for travelers. The museum itself is a collection of several smaller museums, showcasing various aspects of local history and culture. Additionally, the center provides information on accommodations, activities, and hidden gems in the area.
The Broken Hill Visitor Information Centre is a must-visit for anyone exploring the area. Melissa at the desk was incredibly helpful, providing valuable insights and personalized recommendations for local attractions. Her friendly demeanor and extensive knowledge made our experience enjoyable and memorable. Highly recommended!

Our first Mundi Festival was no disappointment. The logistics that happen behind the scenes for this festival are incredible. 6000+ Campers, 16000 individuals all but one were friendly, happy people. The volunteers are amazing. Great lineup of entertainment & the show stopper for was Leo Sayer. What an entertainer who is as good as his early days. This man knows how to to festival entertainment. 😀

Best visitor information centre I've been to in years. Very knowledgeable about their own area. Also, have pamphlets for other areas as well. I was so excited to see that, it's extremely hard to get hold of pamphlets these days. We will be touring Broken Hill again, to visit the lovely staff.

Lots of very useful local knowledge provided upon request at the Visitor Centre. An interesting town with so much to do and see. We loved our four busy days exploring BH and Silverton and local attractions. So much creative talent evidenced in the many art galleries. A Caution: We also joined the 10:00 heritage walk but found it very slow and repetitive taking just on 3 hours when it could EASILY be completed in half this time. We appreciate that these tours are run by volunteers with a wealth of knowledge and stories to tell but these could be shared between locations and kept relevant. With temps rising into the 30s less is more!

As always with Information Centers, Broken Hill had outstanding service and guidance. Corey was super helpful providing trye repair suggestions, local places of interest and travel itinerary further afield - all within a few minutes chatting. The center itself is a large freestanding complex - as they all should be - with plenty of parking for RVs and caravans. Also has a great coffee shop.

While visiting Broken Hill with friends, we were sitting having lunch at a Cafe when a gentleman came up to us and introduced himself to us from the Information Centre. He was brilliant and asked us if we had any plans for seeing things in Broken Hill. We had a great discussion of what to see along with some wonderful knowledge of Broken Hill. He also offered us any maps if we needed them. Not sure if this normally happens, but what a great idea of having someone from the Information Centre around in the town with the knowledge of Broken Hill and surrounding areas to talk with visitors.

The Line of Lode Miners Memorial in Broken Hill is a significant site that offers a poignant tribute to the lives lost in the city's mining industry. The memorial, completed in 2001, stands as a towering monument and an open-air museum showcasing old mining machinery. It serves as a reminder of the harsh work conditions endured by local miners and honors over 800 individuals who perished while working in the mines.
Shout out to an amazing new Local Business in Broken Hill! 🙌 I believe they're still doing soft openings. We were fortunate to turn up while they were open. Beyond impressed with the food, service, staff, owners and the views are outstanding!! ♥️ Definitely go visit them! 🎉

The miners memorial is terrific. The Cafe is now closed and has been for a coupla years apparently. Bugga. Worse thing. The flying Australian National Flag is a disgrace. It's a tattered rag. Shame on ewe mob.
Greg M — Google review
A great memorial to the very large number of miners who have died since mine started. Good to see that recent health and safety has nearly stopped the loss of life.
Brian F — Google review
The location is amazing, the way they have set this out is just brilliant. We reckon that they should put the information centre up here. The machines that the miners give you are understanding of what it was like. The miners memorial is so interesting, you learn so much, their age, how they pass away, the it happened. I fully recommend that you put this on your list.
Rick R — Google review
Such a sad but lovely memorial in honor of those who lost their lives. No tickets needed walk through but a bit disappointed that the information centre part was closed when we went.
Peaches D — Google review
This large memorial is in the open on top of a hill. It was very windy and cold the day we visited. Access the memorial along a raised board walk. Interesting seeing the multitude of names and causes of death and to realise the high risk toiners that persist today.

The Silver City Mint & Art Centre is a vibrant venue that showcases a diverse range of art, including paintings, sculptures, and jewelry. One of its main attractions is the Big Picture, an enormous 100-meter-long acrylic painting depicting the outback landscape. Created by a single artist, it's considered to be the largest of its kind in the world. In addition to art, visitors can also explore locally made chocolates and unique silver jewelry at this renowned art centre on Chloride Street.
What a great experience. Lots of jewellery and art through this unique set up. Watched a short video to start with. Then meandered through to the cave like experience where you come out on to a walkway and beholds a magnificent art of work that is 100m long and 12m high. In this natural looking setting the artist has captured the true essence of the outback. Magnificent. It the other end settled in to the video of The Big Red, well worth a viewing. More art and jewellery on the way out plus chocolate.
Linda W — Google review
Interesting stop to view some local silver jewellery, gemstones, artworks & knick knacks. The $20 family entry fee is worth it to check out The Big Picture & other displays
David G — Google review
Well worth the small fee $7. Amazing painting - geographically fairly accurate. Well assembled.
Jenni G — Google review
I can't say how much I appreciate the staff here. They did an amazing job cleaning up and adding a pendent to my chain. The place was amazing to explore and the largest painting was like finding new little things. Its a must see in Broken Hill.
Paul H — Google review
There’s some lovely jewellery in the shop lobby but $8.50 to visit the rest of the shop is pretty ludicrous. The giant painting is impressively large but twee - lots of disproportionate flora and fauna and stuffed toys. And don’t get me started on the fake aboriginal cave 🥴 If you really feel you must go, get the discount coupon from the info centre first - $6 will feel less ripped off.
Anne M — Google review
It is interesting looking at the pure size of the painting but otherwise it's a bit touristy. The building itself uses space quite well and the cave like room with different types of stone and the room in which they make stuff was pretty neat.
David B — Google review
A very special place to see history of silver minting. Plenty of silver jewellery, art pieces, chocolates and brikabrak to buy. The magnificent painting is just breathtaking! A must see to say the least. Entry is very Conservative.

The Pro Hart Gallery in Broken Hill, an old mining town, pays homage to the renowned artist who became a leading figure in Outback painting. Pro Hart's artistic vision was shaped by his experiences working on a sheep farm and in the mines, which inspired his narrative art depicting outback life. The gallery showcases many of his iconic works, including scenes of shearing, station hands, miners, and dragonflies.
Review: Pro Hart – A True Aussie Treasure What an absolutely talented man Pro Hart was. His work is nothing short of extraordinary — rich in colour, energy, and storytelling. Each painting captures the essence of Australian life with a unique mix of humour, emotion, and striking detail. From his iconic outback scenes to his experimental pieces using unconventional materials, Pro Hart’s creativity knew no bounds. He didn’t just paint; he brought stories to life on canvas, making art that’s both relatable and deeply moving. Visiting his gallery or viewing his work is a reminder of how one man’s passion and perspective can capture the spirit of a nation. A true Aussie legend and a rare talent whose legacy continues to inspire.

Fantastically presented gallery/ museum. Brilliant art of course, but nothing pretentious. Lots to look at and take in over the 3 levels. Friendly, helpful and engaging staff.
Monique S — Google review
My favourite activity in Broken Hill. The Pro Hart Art Gallery is just out of town, plenty of street parking and only $5 for adults and $3 for kids / seniors to get in. Was wonderful seeing Pro Hart's old house and art studio (which is left in original condition). It is interesting to see his earlier works which were quite conservative and quintessentially captured Australian scenes like at the beach and the cricket. His later abstract works are what most people are familiar with - including the iconic carpet ads from the late 80s / early 90s. There are multiple levels of artworks here and you could spend a solid hour here or longer if you watch the documentary on loop. When the entry is so cheap I always like to support the gift shop so picked up some cool tea towels for home. The staff are really knowledgeable and friendly. There is an outdoor sculpture garden across the road. Several of Pro Hart's sculptures can be seen downtown as well as large painted artworks at Broken Hill Regional Airport inside the departures terminal.

Mundi Mundi Lookout is a picturesque hill that offers sweeping views of the expansive desert plains and the Silverton Wind Farm. Located just a 5-minute drive from Silverton, it's a popular spot for capturing stunning outback sunsets and witnessing dust storms or thunderstorms rolling in. The lookout is also known for being the backdrop for the Mad Max movies and hosts an annual 3-day festival called the Mundi Mundi bash every April, featuring live music concerts and local food.
Spectacular. Spectacular. Spectacular. Do not miss. Be very careful of kangaroos. We got food from the Silverton hotel took chairs and a table and arrived 30 mins prior to sunset. Great access for all. Be mindful of the road with children about. Fabulous disability access, easy parking. Unbelievably beautiful.

A very popular tourist site if you are visiting Broken Hill. The panoramic view is just amazing, a combination of hills and valleys. Apparently, some scenes of Mad Max 2 were shot near this site. This place is a couple of kilometres from Silverton. Bear in mind that the road is very bumpy, and you need to look out for the sudden changes in the road profile. Further some places looked like they were in the way of floodwaters, and can contain some debris if there is a recent flooding. Despite the hardships, it's a must visit, you won't be disappointed.

If you're a food enthusiast exploring Broken Hill, make sure to add S-Que Restaurant & Takeaway to your itinerary. This charming eatery offers a delightful fusion of local and international flavors in a cozy setting. Renowned for its exquisite paellas—playfully dubbed "fancy rice"—and innovative dishes like lobster tacos, S-Que elevates the dining experience.
Went in for a dinner date night and it was amazing. It's a great spot to break up the pub grub variety as S-Que offers an elevated dining experience with some European-inspired dishes. We had the Stuffed Hasselback Potatoes and Beetroot Soup for entree (highly recommend both and mainly the latter for something unique). Then had the Frisk Paella and Duck Breast, which are both excellent unique choices. I finished it off with their specialty Ice Cream Cake dessert, which you must have, paired with a cappuccino. You're met with friendly staff and their excellent service, picking up empty plates as they go. The overall atmosphere is super fancy -- group dinners or intimate date nights are perfect during the night with their dimmed lighting, live fire pit/wall and fairy lights.

Service - 4/5 Mains - 3.5/5 Dessert - 5/5 Overall, our experience was nice. The wait time for our main meals was long. We waited at least 45 minutes. The gnocchi was a little bit bland. The paella had a burnt taste throughout it (the dish was burnt on the bottom) and it was a bit dry. Fortunately, the barramundi and pork belly was very tasty. The desserts tasted AMAZING. Highly recommend. Would visit again.

Would have been 5 stars if the steak had not have been tough. The Barramundi was excellent. The salad dressing was a revelation. Very nice ambience staff were courteous and well skilled at their trade.

Attentive service, relaxed atmosphere. Paella was great, prawns a tad overdone for my liking. Would have preferred that the shell was left unpeeled, but delicious. Friends curry (lamb) was quite fatty and not enjoyable they said. Well priced. Will certainly revisit.

The reviewer had placed an order over the phone at Masallas and inquired about the complimentary butter chicken for orders exceeding $60. They were informed that this offer now applied to orders above $80. However, upon arriving to make the payment, their total amounted to $83. The staff member handling the transaction claimed that they hadn't mentioned anything about the free butter chicken and refused to acknowledge their initial inquiry. This left the reviewer feeling extremely disappointed, especially considering they had traveled from Sydney.
We were in Broken Hill for a week on a music tour and this was the most satisfying meal we had during our stay there. We had a massive catered dinner and it was almost completely gone before I could get a plate, so I went back for lunch the next day. Delicious. Thank you for providing us with simple, warm and flavourful food while we were away from home. The staff also came to our final concert at the Civic Centre across the road and it was so beautiful seeing them there. Well worth a visit.

Ordered take out - chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Chicken was ok and naan was soft. Being only Indian restaurant in BH, I have nothing to complain.
R****a — Google review
Great little place in Broken Hill, and probably the only Indian restaurant in the town. A lot of people in the reviews have complained about the Naan, however, the Naans are 'home made' (having had them all my life I can tell the difference) and not packaged naans. That's why they taste different. The food definitely could be better in terms of consistency, however, the fact that one can have Indian food in the middle of nowhere is a luxury. The service was also great and the person taking the order was very polite and kind. Would definitely come back if we happen to pass by Broken Hill again.
Farooq Y — Google review
This place has amazing authentic Indian food. I think it is one of the best places in Broken Hill to eat. Every time I order the staff are so friendly. It's great value, super fast, and delicious!

The lady here is so rude. She just rudely told me to stay outside. If you are not taking any orders, then at least mention it on the door and not let the customers wait 15 minutes for you while you ignore them and do your own thing Edit: You were open. You just rudely asked me to stay outside. I kept waiting outside for 15 minutes for you to come and take the order. I had to knock again several times until the guy came out and told me that you have too many order already and can not take any more orders. Yeah, I am also not dying to eat at your place either.

Sarika puts a massive amount of heart and care in showing Broken Hill her traditional cuisine and cooking. I have been a customer for more than several years and every order is quality. Excellent food and highly recommend.👍

Review has been edited. read in full! Ordered over the phone. Specifically asked about the free butter chicken for orders over $60(now $80). Was told that it was now only for orders over $80. Arrived to pay and the total came to $83. Guy who took payment said we hadn’t asked about the free butter chicken so we couldn’t get it and refused to acknowledge that we had in fact asked for it. Very disappointed! Came from Sydney. Won’t be eating here again! EDIT: Called by Sarika not even 20 minutes after leaving the above review, she was more than apologetic over the mixup and offered to deliver the butter chicken to our door. Her service is outstanding as is the food. Will definitely be eating here again.

Excellent choices of curries and sides; during our work visit we ordered from Masallas multiple times for dinner and lunch due to their wide selection of choices. From the naans to the curries the dishes were all delicious and of great size. In addition, the customer service was excellent and accommodating to our dietary requirements. And the Mango Lassi hit the spot! Thanks

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's is a well-established and enduring fast-food franchise renowned for its hamburgers and french fries. During a recent unfortunate incident caused by a power outage in Broken Hill due to a hail storm, there was an issue with the timing of the food left in their warmer. However, their delivery service through Menulog proved impressive as they promptly rectified any mistakes made with missing chips by adding extra muffins and chips to the order.
The cleanest Maccas we've ever been to. Friendly staff and tables cleaned immediately after use. Also the best bacon and egg muffin I've had. Rosie and Chris

We walked in and we grabbed three frozen drinks and a soft serve we grabbed them in separate orders and grabbed our drinks and waited for our soft serve, after fifteen minutes we still hadn’t gotten it and told them about it and he made it and he through the thing out we were not happy with that which made me post this review Illustrated by Jace

Stopped in town for Mundi Mundi Bash and have had Maccas twice now. Best Maccas I think I've ever had. Chips are always hot and salty, and burgers don't look like landslides. Just seeing how the team works so smoothly and efficiently. Whoever is managing or who owns this store, you are doing an amazing job!

It's MacDonald's. You get what you pay for but I always find ordering on the video display a challenge and the guy behind the counter took my order and was super helpful 👌

McDs has fast service, friendly staff, comfortable sitting and nice atmosphere. Thanks guys😁👍. Big Macs is the best. The BBQ Angus beef is really good, also the nuggets are always tasty and crunchy. Restaurant
Golden Lotus House Chinese Restaurant is a delightful spot for those craving authentic old-style Chinese cuisine. Diners rave about the crispy spring rolls, tender duck, and flavorful sweet and sour pork. The combination seafood dish stands out for its freshness, while the curry chicken has garnered particular praise. Guests also enjoy the well-prepared fried rice and a selection of refreshing drinks, including hot Chinese tea that complements the meal perfectly.
We were just stopping through and decided to grab a meal we read the reviews and were a little worried but had nothing to worry about the food was the best we have had in a long time! Good price, great food would go again if we are in the area. Staff were friendly but straight to the point.

the food was OK, the service was ordinary. we arrived and stood at the door for 10mins before walking to the bar and being asked “takeaway” When we were eventually shown to a table, we were not allowed to sit at a clean table, the lady had to clear and clean a table for us. 5mins after being seated we were given a menu and asked if we would like a drink, we said “yes please” and the lady walked off and spent most of the time talking to people on the table beside us After another 10mins the lady came over and asked if we wanted something to drink “we asked for a jug of pink lemonade” and she said “raspberry, same thing …” and 10mins later after chatting to the table beside us again she brought back a jug of Kirk’s Creaming Soda After 10mins the lady came back and asked “what do you want?” … we gave our entrees and almost finished our main - one of them being chicken with oyster sauce and vegetables - when the phone rang and the lady left the table, took the phone call - then didn’t return By this stage, another couple had walked up to the bar and asked for more drinks and she was on for a chat - all part of customer service, I get that but not when you haven’t finished taking our order or at least “train” someone else to answer phones or take orders at the bar After she had finished telling the couple the history of Moscato, she asked us “did you want to add to your order?” when we said “you didn’t finish taking the order” she seemed surprised Our meals came quick as lightning which was great considering we had been there for the best part of an hour at this stage. When we first arrived the venue was ½ full, by the time we got our meal we were the second last table there - the first was the table the lady spent most of her time at When our mains were brought out, it was apparent that the chicken and vegetables was missing oyster sauce to which we were given a blank stare And to top things off, no chopsticks either … Rather annoyed with the whole experience to be honest

Wonderful little restaurant, lovely friendly staff. They let us sit down and order even though it was 15-20 mins till closing and we had just arrived to town. Lovely food with handmade spring rolls. Very child friendly. Thank you for filling our bellies and looking after us so well after our long journey.

Food rice and duck cold. Was told that is how they serve it, heated it in a microwave. Restaurant empty and we were seated where take away customers congregated. After entres, We moved ourselves to another table. High pitched phone ringing for takeaway orders, staff left us half way through taking our order to take another phone call. Very expensive for a substandard meal. Don't waste your time or money. Go to The silver City Chinese, the food, service and atmosphere there is great. We try Chinese in every town we visit and the Golden Lotus is by and far the worst.
Ann V — Google review
The most rudest staff we have ever come across in a restaurant. The 'owner' was very friendly with people she knew and the regulars but completely the opposite with travellers. Asked if we had booked- restaurant was empty although she continued to tell us they were very busy. Yes we understand that they had a lot of takeaways. Gave us 1 menu, had to ask for another menu and literally told to hurry up and order. Food was average, not the best chinese we have had. $10 corkage for wine, which is fine with us but she continued to tell us they were licenced but the cheapest wine was $39 bottle. Not a lot of options to go elsewhere so I think they have the monopoly, could use a lesson in customer service.
